I'm in London (for Macbeth, of course), and visited (and sat on) The Bench, and met some lovely good omens fans today. It was nice to feel a little less awkward in taking pictures when there were several other people doing the same. and if something new was added while I was there, I don't know anything about it

Rewatched the Festive Day in the Life video and it’s so funny to me how obvious it is that they never go outside. Most of the places they visited they had no idea existed until they walked up to it

Greenwich or is (was) it GreenWitch ?
For a limited time at least.
Wanna visit. Future note: if its not anymore like this, I might try to retrace the steps. Who has seen it IRL ?
The Wicked promotion is a lot. They might´ve gotten all out.

Welcome to GreenWitch
Attention all Ozians! London’s beautiful Royal Borough of Greenwich has had a WICKED makeover, changing its name to GREENWITCH in celebration of the cinematic spectacular flying into cinemas on 22 November.

Happy one monthiversary to Part One of Wicked being released!
Greenwich is home to the Prime Meridian line, which divides the world into East and West, so it’s the picture-perfect place to look to the western sky in homage to Elphaba who sings the song Defying Gravity with the line “If you care to find me, look to the western sky”.
And on the evening of 20th November, at the Royal Observatory, precisely where the Eastern and Western hemispheres meet, the stars of Wicked switched on the Greenwich Meridian laser beam. Grammy, Emmy and Tony winning powerhouse and Academy Award® nominee Cynthia Erivo, pop culture icon Jeff Goldblum, Olivier Award winner and Emmy nominee Jonathan Bailey and director Jon M. Chu all attended the magical photocall, in which, after the green laser divided the night’s sky, surrounding buildings from the Queen’s House to the Old Royal Naval College lit up green in honour of Erivo’s character, Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.

Celebrity for an hour
Tumblr media
It’s no secret that London is the shopping capital of the world, being home to some of the most well known fashion stores, from household names and luxury brands to boutiques. Liberty, Selfridges, Gucci, and Hamleys - you name it, London has it. However, during the festive season, it’s a race against time to bring out the glitz and glamour, both on the product shelves and building’s exterior. Avoiding, quite frankly, the unbearably busy mainstream streets of London, I ventured off to another popular choice known as Knightsbridge. Famous for its range of high end, upscale shopping outlets and cafes, there’s one that looks down (quite literally) over the rest…
Harrods department store originally opened in 1834 and is the go to for luxury garments, gifts and even groceries. But before you’ve even been greeted at the door by a concierge, every detail of the building’s grand exterior is covered in lights, gold, glitz and glam that screams Christmas. It’s enough to entice anyone to come in, festive season or not. Stepping inside is not much different, as every perfume, handbag, teddy bear and staircase to the next floor is intertwined with tinsel and sparkle. As if resisting anything on offer in Harrods wasn’t hard enough, this was now impossible. Needless to say, from the moment you’re greeted by the doorman to the exquisite range of produce, you’ll be getting the full celebrity treatment for an hour or so. I certainly did!

Nacho's London Adventure
Part Two (how much of London is it physically possible to cover by foot in a day)
With my trusty map (linked at the end) in hand I set off to potter around some filming locations...
First Stop - Battersea Park bandstand.
Doing the walk up to the bandstand made me feel a bit nauseous, which is utterly ridiculous but there you go. I bumped into another fan who had also been at the stage door the previous night, and we had a giggle about how unsubtle we were skulking about on a boiling hot day dressed in head to toe black.

Second Stop - St James Park.
Did I sit on the grass for half an hour waiting for the bench to be free? Yes I did...but look at the messages people have left on it 🥹
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Third Stop - Steps to Carlton House Terrace.
Sure everyone around thought I was a bit odd tripping up and down the steps with an enormous grin on my face, but my little nerd heart was having fun.
Tumblr media
Bonus Stop - Tavistock Square Gardens.
Had a little bit of time on my last morning, so popped over to get emotional about another bench (or at least the closest approximation, seeing as they were moved for the scene in the show). Wish I'd been off to the Ritz for lunch afterwards, but alas it was time to get the train home.

Shout out to @fuckyeahgoodomens for compiling this super helpful post, without which I'd not have been, quite literally, lost!
