Someone on the Loki tag was like ‘What would Loki order at McDonald’s in [that scene]?’ And while I’m mad we’re not getting an entire Loki signature meal even if it’s bullshit, or bringing back some discontinued item from the 70s or 80s and saying Loki orders it in the scene (and I totally would’ve ordered it even if it’s just a bullshit gimmick), I don’t think Loki would’ve ordered anything?? Like aside from the fact that he’s just there to see Sylvie, I think he’s so sick of eating wild boar and watching other people gorge on meat that he’d become a vegetarian the second he’s introduced to something green and leafy. Like my boi is 100% ordering a McSalad (except he’s not, because that wasn’t introduced until 2000).

Maybe Mobius could flirt his way into confusing and flustering Loki enough to trick him into trying a French fry but I bet he’d hate that too.

That being said I would live for Mobius trying to explain the point of a Happy Meal to him (the packaging, the food pre-Supersize Me, the toy included).

Oh, like y'all didn't know I was gonna have Things To Say about the Loki season 2 trailer.

Before anything else, I don't consider trailers to be spoilers, so I'm not tagging for them, but if you truly want to see absolutely nothing about season two, just block #loki series 2 speculation, kthxbai.

I watched the trailer on the fly at work, so I'll have to watch it a few more times on a screen bigger than my phone, but idk, I don't really have any complaints. Looks good. Glad to see our Mobius back. Glad to see Loki using some shiny powers. The comedic relief seems well balanced. Glad to see Loki and Sylvie find one another soon enough. Glad to see more subtlety in Loki's expressions and tone. Thrilled with the magic/powers, on second thought.

But. BUT.

The. fucking. uniform.

I - look, I made my peace with Loki wearing the TVA uniform throughout season 1. I'm pretty sure I even meta'd it to work on symbolic levels for my own sake. It's fine, I've moved on, whatever.

But ... my hot take is that Loki is not going to feel like MCU-movies Loki, to me, until he fucking burns that TVA uniform. Like. I'm not asking for a glow up (though it'd be nice). I'm not asking for anything elaborate. I just want him in something resembling his movie attire. I don't care which movie. It can be Ragnarok-costume, it can be TDW-costume, it can be some kind of amalgamation of all of these or none of these, it can be something new but still Asgardian-inspired. I want Loki in his colors. I want Loki in leather. I want Loki in a goddamn cape. I WILL DIE* on this hill, okay.

(*by which I mean, I'll roll in little circles on top of the hill as I try not to let the costuming choices color my overall opinion/enjoyment/consumption of the series, but I'm going to be fucking grumpy about it if he spends another 6 episodes in that ugly ass suit.)

Idk, for me, as long as he's in the TVA uniform, he feels like a different Loki. It's tangible to me. And I get it if that's the point, but just. I don't have to like it, okay.

But anyway, yeah. Aside from that, looks good.

I just love the idea that, because Loki’s favorite color is green, he has a tendency to (or Mobius just assumes he would) choose foods that are green. Same, Loki, same (my favorite color is blue, but same).

Unsolicited opinions and speculation:

I didn’t much like season one, with the exception of episode 5, and I liked the character Hunter-B15. Was happy to see her in the trailer. I hope they don’t do something stupid with her. I love her, she has the potential of being the baddest of good-guy badasses with a past.

I deal with the changes in the Loki character by just mentally separating him into different characters. So there’s Original Loki (my very fav), Ragnarok Loki (not to be confused with Laurits Loki, who is my second fav 🪱), and TVA Loki ( I could go on with comic book versions, Norse Mythology and other depictions, but I'm choosing not to, lol).

TVA Loki does not negate Original Loki for me, so it's all good. For me, anyway. I do understand the outrage and disappointment. I would have loved more Original Loki, too 😕.

Anyway… I also loved Kang, but the actor had to go and be a dickhead and spoil everything. He is in the trailer, I wonder if that’s because they included him in that mid-credit scene and just kept the one appearance, or if we will still be seeing him? Maybe it's another red herring in the trailer and he’s been completely cut? Dumbass, talented actor guy 😕.

Then Sylvie… She is not a favorite of mine, and I will not go off on a rant. The trailer didn’t show as much of her as I would have expected, though. But then, the season one trailer omitted a lot of stuff and threw in some red herrings as well. Who knows? Hoping she will go away. She won't, but I can hope, lol.

The Ke Huy Quan character worries me. There’s been so much hype. His voice in the trailer makes me cringe… hoping he doesn't slip into Jar Jar Binx territory. Hopefully, that's just a bad first impression, the idea of the character looks cool. I want it to work.

Tragic lack of green leather in the trailer 😭. Please be a hidden surprise! And the awful beige suit, which is the Middle Aged Car Salesman Loki costume, seems to have survived 😕. Make it go away.

Hair… <sigh> I get it, the actor is losing his hair and hates wearing wigs or extensions. I’m not going to be an asshole and whine about it. We’ll always have the movies.

So the Loki-Stan in me is squealing with delight, but the more rational part of me is apprehensive. It's not “my” Loki, but it's “a” Loki. How can more Loki be a bad thing?

Oh! And I hope there's another scene involving goats! I’m weird that way, it's a great party trick. Or maybe a Svadilfari character 😈. Trying to make the best of a hopeless situation 😂.
