my mini multiverse of madness…
Avengers Tower Headcanons (Loki Edition)
Tumblr media
word count: 0.3k
Avengers Tower Headcannons Masterlist
One of Loki’s very favorite games is transforming into household objects and scaring the crap out of you.
One time, you were cutting up an apple with a kitchen knife when the knife became Loki, and you screamed as Loki nonchalantly said, “do stop that, dear, it’s painful.”
You told him to never ever do that again.
Naturally, he did it again.
His favorite earth thing (besides you) is chocolate. He’s never had it before, being from Asgard and all, and he cannot get enough of it. This man will eat a pound of chocolate without stopping. You’ve learned what to hide from him.
Loki has recently discovered texting slang, and unfortunately, it’s slipped into some of his day to day speech. You try to explain to him that you’re supposed to use it in messages, not in conversation, but he chooses to ignore you.
Multiple times, he’s looked at you dead-faced and said, “SMH,” without shaking his head. It drives you crazy, which makes him giggle.
He’s a handful, but a cute one.
He also casually brings up that he’s an actual god in conversation constantly. You cannot stop him.
“Loki, you can’t eat that much chocolate.” I AM A GOD.
“Loki, you shouldn’t say that.” I AM A GOD.
“Don’t run into the street! There’s a car, you’ll get hit!” WHAT PART OF ‘I AM A GOD’ DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND??
Loki doesn’t get earth music. It weirds him out. You were singing along to 15 Minutes by Sabrina Carpenter one day, and he just stared at you in confusion for three minutes, eleven seconds.
Loki’s trouble, but he’s your trouble.
I suppose the title “God of Mischief” should be considered an official warning label.

3. The Cold Never Bothered Him Anyway
💚 A Tail Of Misfortune 💚
Y/n had been through many strange things since dating the God of Mischief—some dangerous, some ridiculous, and some just outright adorable.
This, however, took the cake.
Sitting in the center of their shared apartment was a large, fluffy black cat with piercing green eyes, wearing an expression that could only be described as deeply offended. His tail flicked with the kind of irritation that said “you are beneath me,” but his ears were flat in a way that suggested mild panic.
Y/n blinked.
The cat blinked back.
“…Loki?”
The cat gave a tiny sigh through its nose and then, with all the dramatic flair of a god cursed into feline form, flopped onto the rug like the world had betrayed him.
“Oh my god. It is you.”
The cat—Loki—meowed in a low, disgruntled tone that somehow still carried a regal sense of wounded pride.
Y/n crouched, gently reaching a hand toward him. “What happened?”
Loki glared at her.
“You were messing with that old spellbook again, weren’t you?”
More glaring.
“Okay, fine, someone may have told you not to touch it,” she said, carefully picking him up. He squirmed, but only for a second, before going limp in her arms like a sulking child. “But you never listen.”
The spellbook in question—an ancient tome from a lesser-known sorceress Loki had “borrowed” from a sealed vault—was still open on the coffee table, glowing faintly purple. There was a circle of burnt carpet around it and a puff of black fur nearby.
Y/n set Loki down on the couch, where he immediately turned his back to her and sat with perfect posture, his tail flicking angrily.
“Right. You’re mad,” she said, crossing her arms. “Well, you did turn yourself into a cat. That’s kind of on you, babe.”
Loki turned his head just enough to give her a look.
Y/n tried not to laugh. “Okay, okay, let me find the counter-spell.”
She turned to the book and started flipping pages while Loki—cat Loki—watched her with an intense, silent stare.
Fifteen minutes passed.
Then twenty.
And then—“Okay, yeah, um… I think this might be a timed curse.”
Loki let out a sharp mrrrrow of protest.
“No, like, you’ll turn back. Just… not yet. It’s only for 48 hours.”
He leapt off the couch, ran to the kitchen, and dramatically batted a spoon off the counter with a satisfying clatter.
“Hey!” she called, scooping him up again. “No need to go full chaos gremlin.”
The cat looked smug.
Y/n rolled her eyes and carried him back to the couch, this time pulling a blanket around both of them. Loki grumbled in his chest with the tiniest growl but didn’t move, letting her tuck him under her arm.
“You do make a cute cat,” she said, scratching behind his ears. “Even if you’re completely insufferable.”
His ears twitched. He didn’t admit he liked it—but he also didn’t move away.
(Later That Night)
By the time night rolled in, Loki had mostly adjusted to his new form—if you could call angrily stalking the corners of the apartment, knocking over cups, and glaring at the walls “adjusted.”
He sat on the back of the couch like a small, angry gargoyle, eyes following Y/n as she moved around in pajamas, tidying up and occasionally glancing over at him with a fond smile.
“I’m making dinner,” she called. “Don’t even think about jumping on the counter again.”
The only answer was a soft chirrup and the light thud of paws on tile.
“Loki.”
Thud. Scamper.
“Loki.”
The sound of something fragile shattering in the kitchen made her sigh.
She found him sitting beside a broken salt shaker, tail swishing, clearly proud of his sabotage.
“I’m never letting you live this down,” she said, grabbing the broom.
He meowed innocently, but she swore it sounded sarcastic.
When bedtime came, Y/n figured she’d fall asleep alone for once—assuming Loki would stay curled up in a window or something dignified.
But nope.
The moment she slid into bed and turned off the lights, there was a small weight at her feet. Then another at her side. Then a soft, warm body curled directly against her stomach.
She looked down to see two glowing green eyes blinking up at her.
“…You want to sleep here?”
Loki, very deliberately, placed one paw on her hand and meowed.
Y/n smiled sleepily, running her fingers over his soft fur. “Fine. Just for tonight.”
He purred—an actual, honest-to-Odin purr—and pressed himself closer.
As the rain began tapping softly against the windows, Loki’s head tucked under her chin and his breathing slowed. And Y/n, despite the weirdness of cuddling a magical cat version of her boyfriend, couldn’t stop the warmth blooming in her chest.
God of Mischief or not, he was still hers. Cursed, furry, and all.
Y/n woke the next morning to find a pair of glowing green eyes staring directly into hers.
She blinked, groggy and confused. “What—?”
Then her brain caught up.
Cat. Loki. Right.
And said cat was now standing on her chest.
“Loki, it’s 6 a.m.,” she groaned, voice muffled by the pillow. “You’re not a real cat. You
don’t need breakfast this early.”
He meowed.
Loudly.
Then pawed at her face with the dainty elegance of a royal pest.
She groaned again, shoving her face back into the pillow. “You used to sleep in ‘til noon. What is this nonsense?”
Loki responded by jumping off the bed and knocking her alarm clock onto the floor.
Y/n sat up. “You are so lucky you’re cute.”
(Later that Morning)
Y/n padded into the kitchen, rubbing sleep from her eyes, only to find Loki already sitting on the counter, tail curled neatly around his paws like a smug little king.
“Yeah, yeah, I see you. Don’t knock anything over this time.”
He gave her a slow blink, which was almost… affectionate.
She poured her coffee, then paused. “Do you… want some milk or something?”
He nodded.
Actually nodded.
Y/n stared at him. “I can’t decide if this is adorable or deeply unsettling.”
He pawed at the fridge.
“Okay, adorable wins.”
She poured a little dish of milk and set it down for him. Loki approached with slow, dramatic dignity, sipped exactly twice, then walked away like he had allowed this act of servitude.
Y/n narrowed her eyes. “You’re getting way too comfortable like this.”
He promptly jumped onto her lap and curled up, purring.
“…And you’re emotionally manipulating me with cuddles. Got it.”
Loki discovered several things over the next few hours:
1. Zoomies were real.
2. Curtains were climbable.
3. His tail was, in fact, not an enemy—but also not to be trusted.
Y/n nearly cried laughing when he tried to pounce on it, misjudged the distance, and rolled off the couch in a tangle of limbs and indignant meows.
He glared at her from the floor like she’d personally betrayed him.
“Are you going to be okay down there?” she asked, tears of laughter in her eyes.
He hissed dramatically and marched into the hallway, disappearing into the bathroom.
Moments later, she heard the unmistakable sound of bottles being knocked over.
“LOKI!”
A shampoo bottle clattered to the floor.
Y/n hurried to the door, but by the time she got there, he was sitting in the sink, tail flicking, pretending to be innocent.
“You are chaos incarnate.”
He sneezed.
“Still cute, though,” she sighed, picking him up.
By the time night came again, Loki had mellowed out. He curled beside Y/n on the couch as she watched an old sitcom rerun, occasionally flicking his tail in annoyance at the laugh track.
“I don’t understand why Midgardian humor is so… obvious,” he grumbled.
She raised an eyebrow. “That’s the first thing you say all day, and it’s to insult my comfort show?”
He huffed and nudged her arm with his head.
“You’re such a brat,” she muttered, but her hand found its way to his head, gently scratching behind his ears.
Loki let out a quiet purr and laid his head on her lap. His purring grew louder the longer she pet him, and by the time the second episode ended, he was completely limp, one paw draped dramatically over her thigh.
Y/n laughed softly, brushing a strand of hair out of his feline face.
“You act like you hate being a cat, but you’re literally getting spoiled.”
He opened one eye.
She smirked. “Yeah, I see that smug face. You love it.”
He closed the eye again and refused to comment.
Around midnight, something strange happened.
Y/n woke up to a warm, glowing light at the edge of the bed. Her eyes fluttered open just in time to see the shape of the cat shimmer—light curling around him like gold thread.
A soft pop filled the air, followed by a very familiar groan.
And there, sitting on the floor in a pile of blankets and confusion, was Loki. Human again. Very much naked.
“By Odin’s beard, that was awful,” he muttered, running a hand through his hair.
Y/n blinked blearily, still half-asleep. “You’re… you again.”
He looked up. “It would seem so.”
“You’re also very naked.”
“I was a cat, darling. Clothes weren’t exactly an option.”
“Fair point.”
She climbed out of bed and grabbed him a robe, tossing it at his head. “Cover up, Mischief.”
He caught it with a chuckle and wrapped it around himself. “You missed me, didn’t you?”
“I’m not answering that until I’ve had coffee.”
Loki stood, stretched, and let out a long sigh. “Being small and furry is exhausting. But you… you were kind.”
“I always am.”
He stepped forward, cupping her cheek in his now-warm hand. “I know. And I adore you for it.”
Y/n smiled sleepily and leaned into him. “You were surprisingly affectionate. All that purring and cuddling?”
He scoffed. “Lies. Propaganda.”
“I have photos, Loki.”
He gasped. “Delete them immediately.”
“Nope. I’m keeping them forever. For blackmail.”
“You fiend.”
“Look who’s talking.”
He laughed, the sound soft and real, and kissed her forehead. “Thank you for not putting me in a carrier or locking me in a closet.”
“Well, I did consider putting a bow on you and sending you to Thor.”
“You would not dare.”
She grinned. “Wouldn’t I, though?”
Loki rolled his eyes but pulled her closer. “You were wonderful.”
“You were fluffy.”
They both laughed.
And as they fell back into bed—Loki now very much himself—he curled around her like a human version of the affectionate cat he’d been.
“You know,” he murmured against her skin, “cursed or not, I’d go through it again if it meant ending the night like this.”
Y/n smiled, wrapping her arms around him. “Me too.”

“I see,” his hand twitched at the statement that was repeated for the umpteenth time. It took a great amount of control to not summon one of his beloved throwing knives to threaten the medic into working properly.
Lol Loki is so close to losing it, I love it
Tumblr media
Glad y/n is okay though cause what would Loki do without the library?
Tumblr media
Beyond the Bookshelves (11)
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Warnings: "I see."
Summary: You’re a Resource Management Specialist at S.H.I.E.L.D. normally referred to as “The Librarian”. You’ve been assigned the nightmarish task of digitizing all the physical resources currently owned by the agency, with a few new computers and one extra helper.
A/N:
Sorry about the delay. I ended up getting more tasks for work right after traveling abroad. It was a scramble to get the last 2 months caught up.
Please comment/like/reblog. If you’d like to be tagged moving forward, please let me know! (If I missed any tags, please let me know, I’ll add you right away!) I’d also greatly appreciate it if rebloggers remember to add the tags (or some at least).
The lovely banners used in this fic are from @cafekitsune.
If you’re new to the story, please check out the master post for the rest of the chapters.

Loki stood awkwardly in the sterile environment, too far from the door to leave yet close enough to not hover over the staff member dressed in a white coat. Y/N lay motionless on the atrocity that is considered a “bed”. A cuff was wrapped around her bicep which whirred to life with a few button presses. It inflated until it looked as if it would burst before slowly deflating with evenly placed clicks until numbers popped up on the screen. A plastic device was clamped over the tip of one finger and more numbers came onto the screen. The medic then slipped a metal probe encased in plastic into her mouth. Another portion of the screen lit up and a new set of numbers came up. He was not entirely sure what all these numbers meant, but it was clear by the frown that it was not good.
“What are these numbers and why are you wrapping her in such machinery? She fainted, how do all these gadgets treat that?” He finally asked two of the questions that only grew in number with each new thing. The staff member turned to face him, sizing him up.
“And you are what to her exactly?” The question was simple, but the scrutiny in the medic’s gaze gave pause. Was he being questioned on why he cared for her? Or was he being reminded rhetorically that he was an outsider and that he simply should leave?
If it’s the former, well is it not obvious? She is a thorn in my side. The vile villainess who dared to ban me, a prince, from the library! She is a haughty midgardian who lacks any proper etiquette towards royalty though she is surrounded by knowledge. He recalled their “first encounter” and the texts. His frown deepened. An oddity in this world that does not follow the norm. “She is someone I made to work with on a large assignment given to her by Fury. I need her to be normal for the work to be done and I can be freed of this extra burden.” He finally responded.
“I see,” was followed by silence. “This medical equipment does not treat her. It allows me to gather necessary information to best assess, diagnose, and treat her. Is there anything that happened during your assignment that I should know about?”
“That it has yet to start, because she simply vanished for a lengthy amount of time and only recently returned? Or perhaps her incessant chattering with the equally annoyingly talkative Rogers?” And I was forced to wait, none the wiser of her absence. “You've gathered your vitals, what is wrong with her?”
“I see, so she was traveling recently for work?”
“As per her claims.”
“I see,” the medic turned and began to tap away on a tablet. That two word phrase was beginning to poke at his nerves.
“And?”
“And do you know where she had gone in her travels?”
Do I look to be her keeper? I only brought her to you to be treated, not be her living diary! He bit back the words and dulled his sharp tone, taking a deep breath. “Do I look like her keeper?”
“I am simply gathering the necessary information to better assess her.”
“And how would knowing where she traveled be of any use to you?”
“Climate, environment, and what the current illnesses are currently on the rise.”
“No, I do not know where she went nor did I ask her or anyone. I was preoccupied with more important matters.” Loki took another deep breath. Will these insufferable questions end and the treatment begin?”
“I see,” his eyebrow twitched at the repeated statement. The medic moved from Y/N’s beside.
“Are you not going to cure her now? Where are you going?” The younger prince turned on his heel to see the medic start tapping away at a computer. “What are you doing now? What could possibly be more important in that hellish void than healing a fallen midgardian?” His jaw tightened at the series of clicks and clacks that came from the mechanical keyboard.
“I need to document my treatment in her chart.” The forever unperturbed voice of the medic was like nails on a chalkboard. Was there no sense of urgency? Was the health of someone who could outrank an Avenger mean so little? Or were the staff uncaring because he was involved? Was he hindering proper treatment because he was so hated and she was being associated with him? He glanced over his shoulder at Y/N. Her eyebrows were furrowed, creating creases in her forehead; and her breathing was labored and shallow.
“Is it necessary to do that right now?” The medic turned from the monitor and silently observed the irritated royal before refocusing in the computer screen.
“Yes, it needs to be done timely.” Once again, a sluggish and bland tone that gave no sense of security. “Do you plan on staying here with her?”
“Why would I stay here with her? Treat her so that she is back up on her feet and I am free of this unnecessary burden!” He demanded.
“I see,” his hand twitched at the statement that was repeated for the umpteenth time. It took a great amount of control to not summon one of his beloved throwing knives to threaten the medic into working properly.
“I highly doubt it.” He coolly retorted. “You’ve done absolutely nothing to treat her and are now requesting me to watch over her while you galavant off to do absolutely nothing. You've only assessed what I have told you multiple times, the Librarian fainted and needs to be revived. You have done nothing to remedy this.” He forced his jaw to unclench so that his words were clear for the pathetic midgardian in charge of care.
“There’s no medicine on Earth that can suddenly revive someone who has fainted as she has. As per what you said, she fell unconscious and did not hit her head, recently returned from a trip, and has been recently assigned something that requires the assistance of an Avenger. Coupled with her vitals, I can say she is safe from serious danger and will get better. It will take time, some medication, and proper hydration.” The medic walked past the irritated Asgardian, donning gloves after gathering some supplies. Loki observed the odd steps taken, skeptical and confused as part of her arm under her elbow was wiped and a needle with some tubing was inserted. The tubing was then attached to a bag that was hung above Y/N and drops of clear liquid began to steadily fill a chamber. Then the medic brought forth a syringe and poked something into the bag, pushing it into it. “She’ll need to rest here. I can’t say when she’ll wake up, but you can stop by and check in a couple of hours. The IV and medication will help her. If that’s all, I’ll be heading back to do my charting.” Seeing the prince stand there in silence was sign enough for the medic to walk out of the room and head to the back office.
That’s it?! That’s all that can be done? And they simply wash their hands of the matter and move on? What could that ridiculous excuse of a physician possibly have seen if that was all that could be done?! Loki had half the mind to teleport to the back and demand more be done, but stopped himself. Why am I so aggrieved by this? This is all her own fault! Why am I wasting my time here when she's the one who abruptly left me banned from the library for weeks? This it's simply the consequences of her actions. I have no work to be done at this moment, I need to eat and head back to the library to avoid all unnecessary interactions. He turned to the door and resolutely made his way back to the cafeteria to get some food.
Tumblr media
Where am I? Y/N slowly slipped back into the world of the conscious. Her head felt like it was skimming on water and one arm felt a bit swollen. Forcing her eyes open, she blinked away the bleariness to see the IV drip and digital monitor. I'm in infirmary? How? She craned her neck to look around the room a bit before dropping it back against the pillow. Obviously someone brought me here, because I sure as hell know I did not bring myself. I went to lunch with Jess and she was telling me about a new recruit for the Avengers. Another super soldier, I think? Or was it something that has to do with Steve and not a newcomer? Closing her eyes, she took a few deep breaths to ease the oncoming headache. Don’t worry about that detail for now Y/N. Focus on not having your brain rip itself in two. She used her free arm to rub her face.
“I was talking to Jess, we ate lunch in the cafeteria, and we were walking out together. She was fussing over my health and then what happened? Did I black out?” She frowned. “That’s not good. Fury’ll be furious if my report isn't in by tomorrow, pun intended.” She mumbled aloud to herself. “What time is it?”
“It’s currently 19:30.” A voice off to the right answered her. Rolling her head to the side, she saw one of the nurses step through the glass door, the curtain half drawn across the glass wall for some privacy.
“Seven thirty? How long have I been here?” Y/N squeezed her eyes shut and opened them once more.
“You were checked in at 13:06 and have been under observation for fever, exhaustion, and dehydration. You’ve been asleep the majority of the time. We were told that you were travelling recently?”
“Yeah, I had to go to all the SHIELD libraries to make sure the new network was functional and the staff properly trained.” She muttered, rubbing her face. “I was working on the reports and took a break for lunch, but that's the last thing I remember before waking up here.”
“So no issues in remembering what happened prior to the incident. Do you recall hitting your head on something?”
“Hitting my head?” She leaned her head back and closed her eyes, trying to recall what happened in more detail. “No, I don't recall. I was talking to my friend and I just blacked out. No, wait, I did fall. I got dizzy and blacked out for a moment. I stumbled into the wall and slid down. Jess was freaking out, I used the wall to stand up again, and then I passed out again.” She opened her eyes again and turned to the nurse. “I don’t remember bringing myself here.” She frowned.
“You didn't, someone brought you in while you were unconscious.”
“Oh, I guess Jess called for assistance.”
“No, one of the other personnel brought you in.” Y/N’s head jerked up off the pillow at this detail.
“Another? Another who? I can’t have been Jess. She’s strong, but she isn’t that strong. Did she get someone to help?”
“Bingo, your friend Jess found one of the strongest to assist. You were brought in by an Avenger.”
An Avenger? Maybe Steve was nearby. Oh, maybe that's why I thought we talked about super soldiers. “Well, aren't I a lucky gal? Not everyday you get carried off by an Avenger without some life altering calamity happening.”
“Ain’t that the truth!” The nurse laughed, scanning Y/N’s wristband before taking her vitals. “Well, you’re looking good so far. Seems like it was purely exhaustion hitting you hard. You need to rest, don’t go running back to work after so much travel and in so many different time zones. Your body needs to recover.”
“Yeah, I made a promise to someone so I came in Toby away.”
“Y/N, I’m sure they'd have understood. Even if they didn't, your health is a priority to you. No one else is going to care for it for you. So, rest and proper nutrition for the next two days. No rushing to work, I'll post your order so everyone who needs to know doesn't give you a hard time.”
“Thanks, that'll help.” Y/N sat up at the edge of the bed, letting the nurse unhook her from the machines and clear her for leave. “I’ll be sure to stay home for two days as the doctor ordered.”
“Good, now off you go. Do you need someone to help you home?”
“Oh, no need to go that far, I'm fine.” Y/N assured. “Thanks again,” she stood up once cleared and left the infirmary. I’ll need to thank Steve tomor-no, when I get back. I'll thank him when I get back. Being carried by an Avenger is gossip enough, but by the Captain America only makes it worse! She pinched the bridge of her nose. A few days away from work would be the best course of action. P,us I can focus on my reports and submit them without an all-nighter.

Have Mercy
One Shot Masterlist | Complete Masterlist
Summary: You're a powered being with healing abilities and you try to bring Loki back from the brink of death. Pairing: Loki x Female Reader Word Count: 1832 Warnings: Fluff, heavy kissing, slapping, mentions of death (close call), injury, a very flirty Loki,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You didn’t know how much time had passed since you all started the ambush. Tall sequoias canopied above blocking the setting sun. The air was thick with smoke and heavy from the fighting. You heard multiple teammates calling for healing, but none was louder than Thor. His troubled voice blasted through the comms, “Medic! We need a healer quickly!” His deep command tore you away from the battle you were in and you fought your way over to him. “Priestess, please! Come quick!”
Through fire and volley, you found Thor kneeling on the ground with Loki in his arms. Lifeless. Steve was circling them, trying to shield the brothers from a barrage of attacks.
You knelt on the ground. Your knees hit soft mud as your eyes scanned Loki’s body. His sharp face was paler than usual. Blue-ish tint had started to stain his lips. And your naïve-self hoped it was just because of the cold seeping from the wet ground. “Thor, I’ll take it from here. Go help Steve. I can’t worry about my life when I have to worry about his!”
Thor nodded to you. But before he laid Loki down, he whispered in his ear, “I know you are stronger than this, brother. But I swear on Yggdrasil if you are pretending, I will not hesitate to cleave Stormbreaker into you.” Thor sniffed and placed him down to the ground.
You nodded your head and patted Thor’s shoulder. “He’ll be fine,” you feigned, as you tried to get a better look at what had happened. You didn’t have the heart to tell Thor that you could feel how thin and fragile Loki’s life string was. A hair, compared to the cord that we all have. Worse, the thick rope that the Asgardian’s life used to be. You didn’t even know if you were skilled enough to weave it stronger.
There was a large gaping hole that tore Loki’s chest plate. His skin had burned and was raw from the impact. You couldn’t see any entry wounds. Nor blood. But the bruising and dent on his chest was not a good sign. A stray missile, perhaps? Maybe jumping in the way to save his brother. They vex each other constantly. But deep down they care for each other like most siblings do.
You straddled his body, holding your two hands out, placing them over his wound. A soft resonance emitted from your palm down to his skin. You kept your hands on him as the pulse of your powers worked their way through his body. You can see tiny mends of his scrapes and scratches. The raw skin around the wound had returned to their usual pallor.  He’s reacting at least. There’s still some life in him- whatever little is left.
You persisted. With every pulse, you can see his wounds healing. Ribs cracking back into place. The blue on his lips retreated ever so slowly. But his lifeline was stubborn. If you could hold out just long enough, his own regenerative powers might kick in.
Grasping at straws, your mind quickly raced with ideas to help speed the process along. You remembered that sometimes, shock was a good way of knocking someone back into the land of the living. “Ugh, don’t get mad at me, okay? I’m only trying to save your life,” you vowed out loud in case he was able to hear you. You quickly pulled your palm back and slapped Loki hard across his cheek.
Small capillaries burst where your hand met his face. Aside from the new hue, Loki had remained the same. Still and quiet. His line fading from your grasp. You panicked at your failed attempt.
You didn’t know what to do anymore. You didn’t know how to tell Thor that you couldn’t save his only brother. Ideas and thoughts ran past your mind all muddled and incoherent. Ways and spells. Teachings and theories you’ve learned on healing and regeneration.
You cupped Loki’s cheek, healing the bruise you had left. Your brows knit together, puzzled as to what to do next. Hopeless in feeling and thought. You didn’t want to look up. You didn’t want to see Thor’s face and have to tell him an awful truth. They had just reunited this past year. It wasn’t fair. And it would be all your fault because you couldn’t save him. You couldn’t save Loki. Your heart turned solemn as angry tears threatened to drop from your eyes.
By now the fighting had stopped. You didn’t realize how quiet the world had gotten around you. How still the air was from flying projectiles or weapons. The team gathered loosely. Giving you space to try and save Loki’s life, but the look on their faces betrayed the faith they were trying to offer you.
Your thumb brushed Loki’s cheek, wiping away the mud that speckled his face. He would’ve been appalled if he knew where Thor had left him on the ground. You smirked at the thought as your thumb rested on his chin and traced his lips.
His cold lips opened slightly at your touch, and you were struck with an idea.  You grabbed both sides of his leather collars and brought him to sit up towards you. His slack weight was heavier than you anticipated, and it took your remaining strength to sit him upright. You closed your eyes as your lips crashed into his, honing your powers into that desperate kiss.
You had never done this before. You had never needed to do this before. But you were hoping that your breath of life could pass onto him and carry him through till his own powers could take over. You sucked hard on his upper lip, not wanting to break any contact. Your fingers entwined themselves in his hair, desperate to keep him close to you. “Please. Please. Please,” you whispered into his mouth. Tears fell from your eyes and landed on his cheek. Your arms wrapped around his neck, unwilling to let go. Unwilling to accept the truth.
Still, you continued.
You felt a low rumble from his chest. A hopeful sign that it’s working. You just needed to hold on a little bit longer! You opened your lips for a breath of your own. And when you closed your mouth around his, your power pulsated in between you.
You felt his temperature return first. The warmth in his lips, the heat in his breath. You could feel his lifeline winding itself tighter and stronger.
His mouth returned your kiss. Sluggish and tentative. But they held on to your lips, tightly. His hands embraced your hips so delicately you didn’t even know they were there. You naturally leaned into the kiss more. Your power still pulsing through you. One last intake of breath and you passed it along towards Loki.
His grip tightened around you and he pulled you closer onto his lap. His arms snaked around you, holding your head close to his, unwilling to let you go.  You could hear small groans and heavy panting. But you honestly didn’t know whether it came from you or from Loki.
His tongue touched your lips, asking for entry. Catching your breath you opened your mouth once again and Loki gainfully ran his tongue inside against the roof of your mouth.
You didn’t realize that your powers had finished. With nothing left to heal, your powers subsided. But you were so lost in the kiss that you had forgotten where you were and what you were doing. Slowly, you pulled away. But Loki’s kiss followed you unwilling to release you. You bit his bottom lip as a warning, holding his face in between your hands.
“Darling, what an indecent way to ask me out,” Loki grinned from ear to ear. His voice was rough and garbled. He kept his face close to yours, running his nose against your cheek. “I accept!”
The world came crashing back around you. The time. The place. The situation. The shock froze you in place just staring into Loki’s blue-green eyes. “I always thought you harbored affections for me. But now I am certain,” he taunted.
You slapped him.
You couldn’t think of anything else to do. You felt betrayed somehow. Tricked. Even though you knew that he was genuinely in peril. The fact that he was joking about it even now, irked you.
Loki’s eyes narrowed. His brow furrowed as he slowly turned his head to face you again. His chin jutted out, trying to contain the smirk that was coming forth. “Is that how you like it?”
You tried to push yourself off of him. You’ve had enough of his antics. You were utterly embarrassed at being caught in this situation. Especially with the team around, surely watching.
He caught your wrists as you pushed on his chest, stopping you. “Do it again,” he commanded. His grin was out in full force now. Dazzling you to the last inch of your nerve.
“Ugh, the thanks I get for saving your life!” pushing him down as you stood yourself up. “Next time I’ll just leave you limp in the mud.” You sneered, walking away with your head held high and your face heated and red. From humiliation or from desire, you didn’t know.
“Well, that’s very hard to do when you’re kissing me like that, my angel,” Loki yelled after you. He couldn’t stop smiling as he watched you angry and flustered. All because of him. Oh, I’m in trouble.
“What do I gotta do to get a kiss like that?” Bucky asked teasingly as you stomped passed him.
“Die!” you growled back at him. The words felt mean as they left your mouth. And you regretted saying them instantly. He was only trying to lighten the situation. But you couldn’t help the shame you had inside you.
“Oh, c’mon doll. I was only teasing.” Bucky raised his arms in defeat and followed you back to the quinjet, laughing.
“Loki!” Thor scolded as he held his hand to his brother, helping him up. “I hope that you were not deceiving us just to try and gain favor with the priestess. I know you’ve been seeking her affections.”
“Brother! I am genuinely hurt! Did you not see me lying there at the last inch of my life?” Loki contended, pointing to the ground where he once laid.
Thor rolled his eyes but smirked, clapping Loki on the shoulder. He was glad to have his brother back once again. “She’s very talented that one. And I do not want to see her get hurt, Lo-. Loki are you listening to me.”
Loki was at a loss for words, watching you. “She gave me my life back, brother. I have felt her lips against mine and I’ll be damned if I don’t feel them again soon.” Loki smiled as he swatted away Thor’s hand on him. His eyes solely on you, plotting how to get you to kiss him again.
