hello! Could you do a small scenario with loid were anya runs up to him and is s/o and asks for a babysitter or brother ? Thabk you and have a wonderful day!! D Stay warm!!
A Simple Request (Loid Forger x Reader)
𝗔/𝗡: 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼 !! 𝗶 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 :)
𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 !! 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱
𝙒𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚? ⇒ 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩
𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙧?
Sometimes you swear…
“Mommy! Daddy! I want a little brother or little sister!”
…children have an innate sense of horrible timing.
At her words, everyone in the room freezes. Loid sits stiffly in his position on the couch- his hand still outstretched to reach the mug of half-finished, after-dinner coffee sitting comfortably on the coaster in front of him. You stand over the sink completely frozen in motion. Even as the warm water continues running over your hands that had stopped cleaning your share of the dishes today in favor of letting your mind process everything you just heard. And Franky. Franky, who just couldn’t help but let his eyes rapidly shift between your expression and Loid’s as he gapes like the piece of fish Loid had prepared for dinner only mere hours ago.
Even Bond, who was laying on his side due to being tuckered out from a good long walk and a nice delicious meal in his stomach hadn’t even moved an inch- not even to greet his very best friend.
When your mind finally catches up with your ears, you pause for just a second longer. You take a deep breath in and close your eyes. You count to ten before letting your breath go. Your exhale is quiet and slow and it brings just the right amount of calming energy you need to face the situation at hand. Or at the very least, make the next decision and respond to Anya before she asks another difficult-to-answer question. So with that, you let the rest of your air go and you allow your eyes to flutter open. You look at your sweet, innocent, lovable handful of a daughter in her big green eyes and you ask her:
“Umm, Anya? What did you say, sweetheart?”
Admittedly, it might not have been the best approach. But you’re young and you’re new to parenting and being a couple so you couldn’t help it. You couldn’t help but search for a type of way to clear the obstacle ahead of you without issue. You couldn’t help but hope that there was no obstacle to be cleared in your first place. In fact, what was wrong with hoping that it was all just your ears playing tricks on you in the first place? Nothing! And judging by the way Loid’s own wide eyes slide over to yours with a grateful expression, you have a feeling that the two of you were already on the same page for taking the first step.
“I said I want a little brother or little sister! Please~!”
And…you’re back to square one.
Immediately, your hands drop the sponge you were holding and you lock eyes with Loid once again. Despite the fact that he looks just about as red as you feel in this moment, he looks virtually the same. Only this time, it’s pretty obvious that you’re not looking at Twilight playing a role- you’re looking at a man rather than a machine. A person confronted with the seemingly impossible task of responding to a small child’s request. A request that deals entirely with adult conversations that not even normal parents are able to respond to with ease.
So what does that mean for the two of you?!
Your mind runs wild with thoughts about what you should say or what you should do. Though each idea you come up with feels even more complicated than the last. Should you try this approach? Should you say this instead? How much should you hint around it? Is it better that she at least knows enough to think it’s gross? How much would you have to say to get to that point? Are you even prepared to say all of that? What would the Handler say?!
In the process of thinking, your expression must have taken a turn for the worse because now? It seemed like all eyes were on you. And all of those looks of concern were starting to make you feel nauseous. As if all the pressure were suddenly being thrusted into your inexperienced hands. Though luckily for you, that feeling doesn’t last for long.
Because all of the eyes on you was somehow enough for Franky to bolt.
“UHITWASNICEOFYOUTOINVITEMETOHAVEDINNERWITHYOURFAMILYTWILIGHTBUTIJUSTREMEMBEREDIHAVESOMETHINGIHAVETODOSTILLSOOO…BYE!”
This time, your mind really doesn’t process a single word you just heard. Neither does anyone else’s mind judging by the looks on their faces. But how could you when everything came out as a jumble while the man was in the process of sprinting out the front door of your apartment? And for the umpteenth time today, the entire room is left in a surprised, unsure silence with nothing more to do than exchange looks and hope that someone, anyone even, makes the next move. And this time, you’re not left waiting. You’re not left thinking, scheming, and coming up with all sorts of ideas.
And it’s because this time- Loid takes over.
“Well Anya, you know we just got Bond.” Loid begins firmly, as he gestured to the big, fluffy white dog on the ground who has yet to move more than an inch at the moment. With that, Loid then moved to place both his hands on either side of his legs on the couch. He pushes himself off and stands up to his full height before walking over to her to speak to her directly. For a second, your eyes meet his once again, and he offers up the subtlest nod he could muster before looking back. “Perhaps when we’re more familiar with Bond, we could talk about having a baby.”
“That’s right!” You agree instantly, jumping on his train of thought easily. You pull your hands out of the sink and grab a dry towel only a couple of inches away before taking it with you as you go to stand at Loid’s side for moral support. You bump shoulders with him very briefly to play up the image of a normal, affectionate couple before looking down to offer your daughter an easygoing smile as if to make all that you were saying sound more believable. All the panic you were feeling early seemed to disappear now that it was just you and Loid backing each other up like old times’ sake. “Having a new baby and a new doggy around would be a bit difficult to manage, don’t you think?”
“Besides, the stork won’t deliver a baby unless the whole family agrees to have one.” Loid continues easily, completely ignoring the way your eyes are burning holes into the side of his head now that he’s backed the two of you into the Stork conversation. “And you never know. Bond might prefer things the way they are. And if that’s the case, he might just ask the stork not to bring you a little brother or sister.”
Anya gives him a look as soon as he finished his explanation. And then her eyes fall onto yours, and she spares you the same exact glance before looking back at him. It’s a look you’ve seen on her face a few times before. A look that reminds you of someone when they know too much. When they’re about to call your bluff. When they think you’re a liar, even. And given the way her eyes narrows and her mouth tugs downwards in the smallest of frowns after hearing Loid’s practically empty answer, you would have sworn she’s too smart for her own good. Despite what her test scores may say.
“Hmm…”
And finally…
“Okay!
…she settles.
After that, her attention is quickly captured by now, more lively Bond who comes to her side and follows her back to her room after being called by name. As she turns her back towards the two of you and disappears down the hallway, you can hear her speaking to Bond animately- talking about how much fun a baby would be and how much he would enjoy a new friend. Almost as if she was really was trying to convince your new dog to change his mind so a stork could drop off a child at your doorstep. Oh, to be young again.
“Phew…crisis averted! I’m glad that’s over with!” You cheered quietly with a soft sigh of relief. Your shoulders sagged as if you were finally relinquishing the weight of the world from your hands. In a way, you almost dare say you did. With your smile still on your face, you turned to face your partner in everything you do so you could offer him your gratitude. “Thank you so much for covering for me, Loid! I don’t know what I would have said if she kept…”
The words die almost instantly on your lips.
Once again, you’re left completely frozen where you stood. But this time, it’s not because of something your daughter said or something your house guest did. It’s because this time, Loid is giving you a look of his own. One that wasn’t the warm, relieved smile that you thought you were going to see from him. One that wasn’t the red-faced, look of embarrassment that you figured would be next on the list. But one that you could only describe as dangerous.
Almost as dangerous as the way he’s now suddenly behind you. With his hands resting on your waist. And his fingers brushing against the skin hidden underneath your shirt.
And his lips a too little too close for you to say anything to.
“You know…no one would ever suspect a family was fake if there was a little one on the way…”
Anything but no.
“Loid? Are you asking to…?”
His eyes darken and the side of his lip tugs upwards. It’s as if you’re his latest hunt. His latest hunt. And with that hand that’s now sliding over your stomach with all the boldness in the world? You can’t help but wish. You can’t help but hope.
“Well…want to give it a try?”
That Anya’s little poorly timed request magically ends up coming true.

TwiYor - Precious Moments
Pair Piano · 방탄소년단 (BTS) - Euphoria (유포리아) Piano Cover 피아노 커버
[masterlist]
Twilight was flipping through a newspaper when his wife almost died. His eyes were scanning each page, reading about the current political affairs in Ostania.
"War talk, war talk, oh, wouldn't you know, more war talk," he let himself laugh. He was never much a fan of the political columns, but it was all for the sake of keeping up his facade, as well as gathering information. The news provided an interesting lens in that it was biased, giving him a look into the world through the opposition's eyes.
"Is there going to be a war, papa?" Anya asked, turning away from her cartoon.
"No, sweetie," he said, not even looking up.
"Then why does the news always talk about it?".
"Aren't you a bit too young to watch the news?".
"Becky says she watches it, and that makes her a big girl," Anya huffed.
"Watching the news doesn't make you a big girl, just like watching cartoons doesn't make you a baby," he said, finally putting down his newspaper. He knew what Becky had sometimes called her, despite the two still remaining very good friends.
He glanced over at the clock.
8:30? Shouldn't Yor be home by now?
As if on cue, Anya asked, "When is Mama coming home?".
Loid sighed. "I'm not sure, I guess I'll just have to put you to bed".
He stood up, walking over to pick up his daughter. She wriggled in his grasp.
"Wait, wait, I still have to finish the episode!".
"I'll tape it for you. It's way past your bedtime, young Lady," Loid said.
Anya groaned as she slumped over in his grasp, giving up. He carried her over to her room, opening the door with his foot. He set her down in bed, as she started to snore.
He smiled at her as she fell asleep.
He draped the blanket over her before heading out, silently cursing at himself.
You're not supposed so get attached, Twilight.
He sat down back on the couch, flipping to the news channel.
"-'ve got Jeremy Jackson on the scene".
"Yeah, Katie, another massacre has been reported at around 7 PM this evening. These killings have become more and more frequent with the upcoming election. Police suspect that these murders have been carried out via a skilled assassin. Some even theorize this involves the legendary assassin operation, Garden."
Loid flipped off the channel. He didn't have time for rumors and legends.
You're a legend yourself, Twilight, he reminded himself.
There was a knock at the door. Frantic and pounding.
"Coming, coming, ", he mumbled under his breath as he got off the couch. It took him a few seconds to undo the locks he'd installed when they first moved in. The person knocked again.
"I said I'm coming."
He yanked the door open, and stared into his wife's face.
"Yor, hey, we miss-".
She stumbled into the room, right into his arms, holding onto something on her stomach.
"-ed...you."
He noted her surprisingly pale, pallid face. She looked like she was about to collapse.
"Hey, Loid, ", she gave him a weak smile. He grabbed onto her shoulders, trying to steady her despite her protests.
"Are you...alright?" he asked. He wasn't really sure why, because she definitely wasn't.
"Yeah, ", she said, her voice airy. Her breaths were heavy, like she was fighting to stay conscious.
He guided her to the couch, trying to get her to lie down, but she still refused to remove her hand from her stomach.
"Yor, something's wrong."
"No, it's not, I'm fine," she said.
"Is your hand okay?".
"Yeah, it's fine," she said wryly.
"Let me see it."
He pulled her hand away from her body and almost dropped it in surprise.
It was covered in blood.
"Yor! You're bleeding."
Bleeding was an understatement. With her hand removed, he could see she had a long slash extending across her stomach. The cut wasn't, thankfully, deep enough to cause too much damage to her organs, but it was certainly big enough to kill her from blood loss.
"It's nothing. I've had worse, ", she said.
"What do you mean you've had worse?" Loid said, trying to keep himself from shouting, so as not to wake Anya. Yor stayed silent. "Yor?"
"Exactly what I said. I've had worse, ", she said. "I can fix it myself".
"No, you can't, here, j-just stay right there, ", he told her, surprised by the shakiness in his voice. He ran over to his room, silently cursing at himself for giving it so many locks. He had a few minutes or so, considering Yor's...less than typical body. He grabbed his first aid kit and quickly rushed back to Yor. She was trying in vain to stanch the wound.
"Loid?"
He looked over at her as he grabbed some bandages.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry you have to deal with this."
He sighed.
"It's never a chore to deal with you, ", he said.
"I never said it wasn't, ", Yor said. "God, I'm so stupid."
"You're a lot smarter than you give yourself credit, Yor, ", Loid said as he pulled a needle from the first aid kit. "I think I might have to stitch up the wound."
"Yeah, thought so, " she grunted as she twisted to lie down on her back. "You seem quite knowledgeable on this whole first aid thing."
"Well, we had to learn it at school, ", he said, the lie as smooth as any other words. He pulled out a bottle of iodine and a clean rag, dampening the rag with the liquid and dabbing it on the wound.
It only hit him then that he hadn't questioned why Yor had come back like this. He knew he shouldn't pry, but almost dying was certainly a motivator.
But he stayed silent as he stitched up her wound, trying to ignore her painful winces. When all was said and done, she pulled herself up and leaned into the couch, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Thanks, " she smiled at him.
"Anything for you, Yor."
He wasn't really sure what spirit possessed him that night, but he leaned closer to her. His breath hitched in his throat as she leaned closer to him. She was so close now, he could see the tiny freckles that littered her face. They were like stars, making them look like constellations littered on her cheeks.
He wondered why he hadn't noticed them before.
Yor's eyes were so pretty, like blood red rubies.
Her lips were so sweet, like biting into a peach and feeling the juice fill your mouth. Kissing her felt like coming up for air after diving into deep waters. He'd kissed a thousand women before, but never had it made his heart skip a beat, make his breath disappear.
Kissing her felt like love itself had fallen into them.
He pulled away from her as a smile graced those beautiful lips.
"I should probably go change out of this.," She gestured at her dress. "And it was my favorite, too."
Loid put a hand on her cheek, rubbing her face with his thumb.
"We'll get it fixed up, dear."
Dear? What the hell had gotten into him?
Yor smiled again as Loid helped her to her room. Her face was practically glowing.
"You'll sleep alright?" Loid asked. Yor nodded as she kissed him on the cheek.
"I'm glad I married you, Loid ," she said.
Guilt panged in his chest, but he ignored it.
"I'm glad I met you that day, " he smiled, allowing himself a chuckle. "Now, goodnight."
The guilt came back, washing over his body, drowning him.
You'll have to leave them one day, Twilight.
He sighed as he watched his wife close the door.
Maybe I will.
But that doesn't mean I can't cherish every moment with them.

A chronological analysis on Twilight and Yor - Part 14
*This is part of an ongoing post series. If you missed the Introduction/Part 1, click here*
----------
While it is an anime-only story, the episode where Yor brings Anya her gym clothes helps establish the current state of Yor's character, since it will be challenged soon. We see how hard she tries to be a supportive wife to Loid and a good mother to Anya. But despite the fact that they show appreciation for what she does and don't harp on her mistakes, her self-doubt makes her continue to be unnecessarily hard on herself.
This helps set the stage for Nightfall's introduction a few episodes later, which brings the first real romantic tension in the series…a tension that will eventually force both Twilight and Yor to take a step forward in their relationship.
When Nightfall first visits the Forgers and initially spends time alone with Yor, Yor is understandably nervous – this is the first person besides Yuri and Franky whom she's had to entertain at the house while keeping up her wife/mother facade (plus Loid isn't there to help her this time).
Twilight's first reaction upon seeing Nightfall in his home is that of concern, since it's unusual for WISE agents to interact with each other without good reason. But when she starts laying on the condescending comments, especially in terms of Yor not doing his errands for him, he becomes irritated. Similar to when Swan was making misogynist comments about Yor during the Eden interview, and Twilight insisted on sticking up for her, he reacts the same here (though he has to be more subtle about it so as not to let on that Fiona is a fellow spy). In both cases, it would have benefited his situation if he placated them, but it seems like he can't hold back whenever Yor is slighted, whether by a stranger or a fellow WISE agent.
The two spies exchange glares, with Nightfall stating that they should review whatever tactics he has going on for the operation, and Twilight retorting that it's not her place to make such a decision.
As Yor prepares their drinks, the meaning of Fiona's last statement – that Loid complains about her at work – starts to sink in. Even though she knew nothing about Fiona prior to that day, her inner insecurities already start creating extreme scenarios in her head. She imagines Loid wanting to take Fiona as his wife instead because he thinks Yor is so useless. And of course, her lacking self-esteem makes her unable to blame him if he really does feel that way.
At this point in the series, she's already stated that she's grateful she married Loid and is happy to be in the Forger family. And while she did have internal conflicts along the way about whether she's fit for the role, this is the first time something external, something she has no control over, is threatening to take her newfound happiness away.
There's no concrete evidence that Loid complaining to Fiona about Yor is a lie, but there's plenty of reason to assume it is. I've discussed about Twilight being a non-judgmental person who never speaks or even thinks ill of others, so I can't imagine him suddenly complaining to a coworker, especially a coworker who's in on his mission. There would also be no reason for him to react the way he did to Nightfall's condescending remarks about Yor if he was in agreement with her.
The insight we get about Nightfall, both from her own inner monologues and from Anya reading her mind (and discovering her unhinged obsession with Twilight), reveals that she would be the exact opposite of Yor in terms of the support she could offer Twilight. All she fantasizes herself doing for him are either related to his work, or the typical wife responsibilities like laundry and cooking…all of which are things he's capable of doing himself, albeit if he had a little more free time. But Twilight had specifically said that he's counting on Yor to be everything that he's not…namely, giving Anya and, though he won't admit it, himself, the affection and emotional support he's not allowed to give. But Nightfall, being a hardened spy like him, can only think of a wife role in "for the mission" terms too, and to her, that means doing all the tedious chores and errands so he doesn't have to. She can't imagine Twilight would actually enjoy doing something "mundane" like walking the dog for example. The kinds of things Nightfall wants to do for him are things a personal assistant would do – complete surface-level fulfillment, but lacking interpersonal, soulful understanding.
@queenofapeacefuldawn describes the contrast between Yor's and Nightfall's relationship with Twilight perfectly in this reblog. To quote:
"…Yor sees him as an actual, flawed human being, and knows that as a person, he needs emotional support too, especially in raising a child, something that Yor relates with. She wants to be there with him, and although their marriage is more of an agreement, (at the beginning, anyway), she wants to be a partner to Loid, for his emotional support, and for Anya's wellbeing.
Meanwhile, Nightfall sees Twilight as a perfect, god-like figure, who can control his emotions easily, and won't need any emotional help. She thinks that all he will need are material comforts, not emotional comfort. In Nightfall's spiel, she never once thinks about Twilight's emotional stance, which is a kind-of implication that she thinks his emotions are secondary— according to her training. She does not intend to— or maybe doesn't even know how to, given her training— provide emotional comfort."
@connoisseursdecomfort also brings up the fact that because Twilight has such a disillusioned view about romantic relationships, it's not possible to win him over by romance alone, which is exactly what Nightfall is trying to do. However, while Yor tries to comfort and help him whenever she can, she also keeps a respectable distance from him and his personal affairs. But probably the most important thing she does in his eyes (and is something he'll tell her in full later) is being a good mother to Anya. Loid never asked that she remain Anya's mother after the interview, yet she chose to anyway, with her upmost sincerity. And despite that, as Connoisseursdecomfort also mentions in her post, Yor never uses Anya as a way of getting closer to Loid. The main strike against Nightfall is not that she sees the role of a wife as more of a servant to Twilight than anything else, but she sees the role of a mother that way as well. As such, unlike Yor, Anya's personal happiness is secondary to how she can become a "stella procuring machine" for the sake of Twilight's mission (even Twilight admits later that Nightfall has no parenting skills).
Nightfall can't imagine that Twilight's happiness could be tied to anything besides the success of his missions, like the happiness of his (fake) daughter for example (ironically, Twilight felt the same way back when he was pressuring Anya to study, until Yor stepped in and made him see things a different way).
As expected, Anya wants nothing to do with such a harsh mother and does what she can in the moment to thwart Fiona – she lovingly nuzzles Yor's lap and says she loves her mama (of course, Yor practically melts at this unexpected show of affection while Twilight is just puzzled). She then goes a step further by saying how lucky she is to have a mama and papa who love each other and how grateful she is to be in the Forger family. After hearing Anya say all this, Yor can't hold back her insecurity any longer – she can't let Anya's happiness in the Forger family be compromised by Loid deciding to marry Fiona because she's so useless (as is typical of her, she thinks of others first and doesn't realize that her own happiness is at stake too). She turns to Loid with a face full of resolve, much to his surprise, and exclaims that she'll try harder to be a better wife.
It's ambiguous as to whether the compliments he proceeds to give her are genuine or not, since Nightfall notes that his smile is fake. However, she also notes that she can see traces of real emotions seeping through. So, as is becoming usual for him, he thinks he's lying, but more truth than not ends up being revealed. Since Nightfall is someone who was not only trained by Twilight, but has "studied" him for a long time and knows all his various fake identities, I think we're meant to trust her assessment of his emotional state (also, as we'll see later on, Twilight's comments about how hard Yor already works and how much Anya loves her are not lies).
When he chases after Nightfall in the rain to give her an umbrella, she flat out tells him that he's gone soft. And once again, just like the times Franky warned him that he shouldn't grow attached to his (fake) family, Twilight doesn't deny the statement at all.
Why would he not deny something so detrimental to his spy profession, especially to a fellow spy? If he was confident he wasn't actually developing feelings for his family, there's no reason for him to not say so and put her mind at ease. So the only other explanation is that, deep down, he is starting to feel attached. But due to his lack of emotional comprehension, he never realized he could ever have such feelings, so when someone points it out, he's at a loss, which causes him to either change the subject or just not say anything, like in this case with Nightfall.

ALSO!!!! Any ideal wedding inspo for the twins mayhaps?? I know me and Education Alert only have $20 to our name, but I’ll make it work 💪😼
EDUCATION ALERT LMAOOOO
Answer is under read more cause it’s kinda long
Hmmm… Diva actually— I don’t see getting married? Or at least not the traditional marriage. If her partner wanted one, she’d just go with what they’ve planned. But that doesn’t mean she’s NOT romantic.
I imagine it’s more of— the two of you driving around a new city, on a road trip together, in a rented convertible with the rooftop down, listening to your guys’ favorite music on the radio. It’s night time with the city lights on, and you both are either heading back from having fun all day or heading to have more night fun at wherever. I think she’d talk about how much fun she’s always having with you, and that she wishes it can be like this for the rest of your lives. And when she brings out the ring,
It’s a little silly, but they’re still really cute— matching rings. Like I’ve said before, she’s not the traditional kind of girl that wants to get married, but she would still confess her love and her want to stay committed to you— she just wouldn’t care for the whole ceremony thing. I also think she’d do this if you guys were dating for like 3 years.
Here’s some photos to fit the vibes
As for Eddie? Id say he wouldn’t see himself getting married since he’s never really… thought of himself in a relationship before either. It’s all still very new to him. But if you were together for 5 years, yeah— he wouldn’t mind getting hitched.
I think Eddie would want it to be perfect, but since he has NO idea what he’s doing? He’d either let you do most of the planning OR he’d base it off the pictures and stories of his parents’ wedding.
His parents’ wedding in his eyes is the most ideal because his parents are still very much in love and happy with one another. Their wedding also fits a lot of his preferences; small and intimate, nothing flashy or expensive.
Still, he’d want it to be perfect for the both of you— so if you have any changes you want to be made, you guys will figure something out.
I imagine the rings he has are actually his grandparents’ rings, that his grandpa passed down to him when he heard his eldest grandchild was ready to settle down. They’re simple and not that grand, but it holds a lot of sentiment for Eddie. (Yours would be his grandma’s on the left, his is the one on the right :) )
And the wedding would look something like this, in a church with his family and friends and yours. (I like the decorations of one and two, but the vibes of the third pic)
Nothing too crazy, just you and him— all your loved ones, and even though he isn’t religious, part of him doesn’t mind having some higher being watching over them on their special day. It’ll certainly give him a chance to thank god for allowing him the chance to finally love and be with the only person he’d ever imagine himself with.
This is what he’d wear (in this shade or a dark grey— loid looking ass)

Long time no fic!
This one's long overdue. Sorry 🙏 💦
But as for the fic itself, I'm not sorry and you're welcome.
▪︎•▪︎•▪︎•▪︎•▪︎•▪︎
For Two
"I did it for my mission. For my country and the peace of people. What you did wasn't so different from what I did." He firmly said and swallowed hard.
"I know. Maybe I did worse." Thorn Princess said in a shaky voice, stifling her sobs.
Instead of bickering, they should be escaping to a safer ground. If only there's a place to run off to. There was nowhere to run and this moment between them is the only chance for demanding answers to the questions that they've been keeping for so long. She continued.
"Did you love me at all?"
Twilight held his aching side that took a gunshot from the enemy. It reached deep and he is losing blood. Though his strength is fading, he held up his hand and reached out for her face. He wanted to do so much more. To hold her tight and say he'll set things right. But he knows that there's no turning back. So Twilight took a deep breath and opened his mouth to speak.
"Do you hate me?"
Thorn Princess was taken aback. Her tears trickled down from her face to Twilight's hand.
Silence ensued between them, both unwilling to answer. Twilight wanted to tell her everything but all he could do was stare right out the window of the dangerous place they're in. An amusement park can be seen. The faint colorful lights are the only thing giving life to his eyes. It was one of the rare moments, him wishing that he was just an ordinary person with the right to live a life. As his mind continued to wander, he thought out loud.
"Perhaps, in another world, we're up high riding the ferris wheel over there." He said.
"What are you saying? You're not making sense." Thorn Princess replied, still sobbing.
Thorn Princess attempted to raise him up. But she was fairly beaten too and only left with enough strength to save herself. Twilight shook his head, stopping her.
"If I was just a plain clumsy guy, would you love me?" He asked.
"I... Why are you asking me that? You should stop talking. You're bleeding too much. We need to get out of here."
"Imagine, we're just normal people. You're still working at the city hall and... and I'm a real doctor. Who knows? We might be lovers or maybe just friends... It's fine either way."
"Please... Loid..."
"You're still calling me that despite everything?"
Twilight could not keep himself from chuckling. He could feel his time running out.
"If we ever meet again, I hope I can finally be someone worthy for you." He said as his own tears flow.
Thorn Princess held his hand close to her.
The both of them are desperately wishing for the time to stop and let them be just a little bit longer. Just when they thought they were granted that very wish, a presence draws closer until it finally comes into vision as an armed enemy. Reflexes took over Thorn Princess and threw the last dagger. Severely exhausted, she wasn't able to hit deep to kill off the enemy with a single move. In frustration, she pulled out one of her earrings. The wounded figure was quick enough to draw out a gun and aim for them.
"Yor!"
With every last of his strength, Twilight shielded Thorn Princess who finally killed the enemy with a hit to the head. Not far off, more footsteps echoed.
"Loid? Loid? No..."
She held Twilight in her arms. Tears streamed down once more. Twilight smiled softly.
"Let's ride the ferris wheel next time, okay? Now go..." He said and weakly took out a grenade from his pocket.
One dies, the other must live on.
With his other hand, he gave his WISE pin to Thorn Princess.
"I love you."
Thorn Princess knew that it's over for the both of them. There was nothing left to do but give a kiss of farewell. She took the pin and jumped over the window. Not long after came the explosion, killing Twilight and his unfulfilled dream.
Just as the sun sets on his life, it rises for another person.
*blaring alarm
Beneath the blankets emerged a man with weary eyes and aching back. He groaned at what reminded him of another tiring day ahead. His hand reached out to turn off the alarm clock by swinging his arm to throw it out. But he realized shortly the silly thing he was about to do and laughed at himself.
"Now, why would I throw this? It's not a grenade..."
But aside from the hazy state of mind, there is a weirdly exceuciating feeling in his chest. He felt like he just woke up from a nightmare he could not remember. But he shook off the absurd thoughts.
A normal guy who lives in a suburban apartment, doing the same routine before heading to his work at the hospital as a doctor. Loid Forger.
If there's anything that lets him get through his mundane life, it's the interactions with his neighbor.
It's been about three years since he moved to the complex which is conveniently near to his work. Three years since he met her.
"Good morning, Loid." Came from outside as soon as the elevator opened.
Right in front of him is Yor Briar, standing against the light, making her glow like a morning angel. The neighbor who always seem to come around whenever Loid is in some kind of pinch. At first he didn't think much of it but by and by, he started to enjoy her company. She'd chance upon him when he's late for work or when something trivial stresses him out. Loid would always ease more whenever Yor helps him.
"Looks like you're running late today."
"Well... yeah. It's the second time this month." Loid replied as he got off the elevator and approached her.
"I guess you overslept this time. Why don't you get a new alarm?" Yor suggested.
"No. Actually, I..."
Loid couldn't tell that the real reason was that he was still trying to remember the dream he just had. He spent too much time thinking that he spent almost thirty minutes eating breakfast. He changed the topic to keep it off his mind.
"Maybe... How about you? You haven't left yet. Having a day off?" He asked.
"No. Today's a half day so I'll be at the city hall in the afternoon. I just came back from the courier and dropped something for Yuri."
"Your brother must miss you very much."
"There's still a month before he takes a leave. He'll stay over for a week so I hope you'd come over and chat with him again." Yor said.
Loid isn't sure if he should accept the offer at all. Is it okay for Yor to invite an outsider like him? Besides, Loid knows that Yuri hates his guts.
"I don't think he'd be fine with that. He wants to spend time with you not me." Loid jokingly said.
"I'm sorry about my brother. He's just shy, not a bad kid at all. I'm sure he'll warm up to you." Yor replied.
"I hope he does."
Loid wondered if they are close enough for such a connection to be established.
"Well then, I'll be going up. Take care! Have a nice day!"
"You too. Bye."
Yor waved at him before lining up for the elevator. Loid smiled contentedly. Yor's words work like spell. In an instant, he felt better despite the fact that he's on the rush and late for a meeting. He thought only of her as he took the cab ride.
It's been three years but still, Loid does not know what is their relationship. Neighbors? That's given. Are they friends? More or less. He doesn't want to ask Yor about it because he thought it's rude. Weirdly enough, they get to know more of each other through odd circumstances. Like when Loid would chance upon Yor's drunk state or when they happen to be going home together. Neighbors or friends, he knows that she is much more than that.
In short, Loid Forger likes Yor Briar a great deal.
"Doctor Forger! Thanks for helping me at the meeting. I knew you're such a competent one. I'll be counting on you again next time." Said the director to him.
"Of course, Sir." Replied Loid, though he wished not to be tapped again for troublesome favors.
For the rest of the day, it was just as usual. Running consultations and diagnosis, occasional chatting with colleagues, and running menial tasks for his superiors. And as hours fly by, he's getting more and more elated and hoped to run into Yor after he's done for the day.
As soon as he stepped out the hospital, he walked hastily by the main road for a better chance on meeting Yor in front of the station. But she was not around when Loid finally passed by. Unsurprised but disappointed, he continued on his way. He was doing so mindlessly that he ended up taking a detour towards direction of town square where sparkling lights are peeking.
"Wha- How did I end up here?"
Noise of excitement and fun invaded his ears. It was unusually more crowded than usual. Taking a proper look around him, there's an ongoing bazaar, the one talked about by the nurses a while ago. Since he was already there, he decided to roam.
He saw unique items and imported products left and right. It took him a few minutes till he had his fill and headed for the exit. But suddenly, right around the corner, a familiar whiff of rosy scent alerted Loid. He hurriedly took the turn and saw Yor walking along the row of pop-up stalls.
"Yor?" He called out.
"Loid? You're shopping too?"
"No, I just stopped by. I heard from my workmates. Today's the last day, right? Then the bazaar will move again somewhere else."
"We ended early so I took my time to shop."
"What did you buy?" Loid asked.
"Oh, I bought... food and some housewares. I also bought a succulent plant. I think it will look good by the window." Yor said contentedly.
"That's nice. Are you still shopping around?" Loid asked.
"No. This is the last one. Just a bunch of kitchen knives."
The stall owner handed out the purchase. Loid carried Yor's shopped items.
"Just a second madame." Said the owner, dug his hands in a drawer and pulled out a ticket.
"Ticket for the ferris wheel."
"What is this for, Sir?" Asked Yor, a bit surprised.
"For buying my craft. Each item's got a freebie. Crocheted towels for cheap items, tickets for pricey ones. I ran out of cafe coupons so I'm giving you that."
"Oh... Thank you, sir."
"But you gotta use it right now because the ticket expires today. Actually, take this too. It's the last ticket. Ride it with your boyfriend if you're both fine with heights."
"No! He's not my..."
Yor and Loid exchanged glances, a bit warm in the cheeks despite the chilly air. They were rather speechless when they walked away. It took a while before silence was finally broken by Yor.
"So... How about we use these? It will be a waste if we don't ride the ferris wheel."
Loid laughed awkwardly and nodded.
"Good point. And besides, it's free." He added.
They walked a little bit further until the line for the ride is within sight.
"Actually, it's fine. You might want to ride with one of your friends instead." Loid suddenly said.
"What? Wait!"
"I won't go with you."
"Come now, Loid. You can't share a ride with me? Don't say you're actually afraid of heights?" Yor asked.
"N-No! It's not that. Fine. I'll ride with you."
They are getting nearer and nearer the front. Loid knows that now is not the time to chicken out. Being alone with Yor while high up above is already beyond his expectations. This is not the same as the usual elevator ride. What more could he ask for?
"Please watch your steps, thank you." Said the employee, letting them in.
The door closed and the two of them sat in silence. Although Loid told himself to calm down, his heart wouldn't. It's beating crazier than ever.
"Look! We're rising! I can almost see the main road."
"Right, just a little longer we might get to see the rest of the town."
Opposite him, Yor leaned and looked outside. But Loid could not care less about the scenic view. He tried to strain his eyes away but all he could see is the one in front of him. And as the gentle rays filled the space, it kindled warm fuzzy feelings in Loid. And in his eyes, Yor glows while everything else blurs. Time halts, that moment becomes theirs alone, as if the cabin itself confines them away from the rest of the world.
Higher they rose, taking Loid's breath away until he could no longer bear the tugging in his chest. Along with the breath of relief comes along a string of words he never knew he'd say.
"I like you."
Time flowed again. Yor slowly turned her head, giving him a confused look. Loid can never take back this sudden confession and so he continued charging head on.
"I like you since long before I can remember. When I first moved in, I thought you were just the usual... nosy neighbor and... I used to be upset when I leave a bad impression on you. But believe me, I enjoy your company. And even though you hit me when you're drunk, it's fun listening to your ramblings. I don't mind if you hit me a hundred times."
"Hey! Why would I?"
Loid took deep breaths. He was fidgety and adjusted his scarf over and over. His eyes were everywhere except on Yor.
"But how do I put it? There's nothing really great about me... That's why I'm holding back. I can't just chase after you and scare you."
Loid then casted his eyes down. He was breathing heavily.
"This is so unlikely of me, don't you think? Telling you my feelings without warning. I- I'm very sorry... This is so embarrassing."
Loid doesn't know how he was able to say those words at all. Was it courage? Confidence? No. A plain and clumsy guy like him never had those. He felt like he's suddenly possessed by something, forcing him to shoulder someone else's hope and live that person's dream.
As if words were not enough, Loid kneeled on one knee and took Yor's hand in his. He swallowed hard and stared right into Yor's eyes that reflects the past and their possible future together.
"But even so, everything I said is true."
"Loid..."
"I've never been this sure. And I know it's a selfish wish but I want to prove myself to you. I'll wait until you accept me, reject me. I want to hear it from you."
Loid looked down once again, overwhelmed by his own emotions. But judgement is yet to pass.
Acceptance or Rejection? His heart is at Yor's mercy.
He dared to look up and saw Yor smiling gently at him.
"You caught me off-guard." She said.
"I'm very sorry! I promise I'll wait! I'm not forcing you." Replied Loid in a panic.
"I like you too."
Loid was stunned.
"What?" Was all he could say.
Yor gave her an answer too strong to be doubted. Yor's hands reached out for Loid's face. She dived down and let her lips land softly on his.
"I like you for many reasons, if you only knew. We're already this far. I don't want to keep you hanging like a dying man."
"I'm not complaining."
Loid is far from dying. He is alive and drunk with blissfulness. So happy that Loid can't help but kiss Yor's hands and lips. Wanting to make sure that it's not a dream.
He felt like it's too good to be true and realized how the free tickets were actually worth so much more. As if someone paid a hefty price for them. But either way, Loid will treasure this life-changing ride for always.

I got a little sidetracked on Saturday, so now I'll share my thoughts on episode 31 of the Spy X Family anime...
I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS AN AMAZING EPISODE with an intriguing thing about it...!! 😲
So let's talk about episode 31 shall we...? 😁
So, the biggest thing that I noticed while watching this episode was that this is the first time that they not only adapted 2 full chapters (Missions 46 and 47), but also part of a third chapter (Mission 48, 8 and a half pages to be exact 😌) for the anime...!! 😲 (I'm only counting the main numbered Missions this conversation and not the Short Missions or the Omake chapters mainly because they are mostly extra content that is also [sometimes not] canon...)
And just to clarify, I do not think that this is a bad thing, I just find what they did for this episode very intriguing...!! 😄 It actually makes a lot of sense that the anime would have to start adapting more than 1 to 2 chapters per episode, mainly because Endo started to do more chapters (not all of them) with less pages!! 😁 Honestly, the only thing about this episode that makes me a little bit upset is that the chapter that I thought would be a perfect finale to this season may not end up being the last episode anymore...! 😩 But, I'm still holding out hope though!! 🤞
Anyway, besides how chapters were adapted this time around, there were at least 4 dialogue changes that I noticed in this episode...!! 😁
Change Number 1:
Anya calls Loid sappy in the manga, while in the anime, she calls him lonesome. I personally prefer Anya calling Loid sappy for missing Yor because I just think that it was cuter...!! 😊
Change Number 2:
Now, McMahon saying saying that Zeb is about to soil himself is bad, but saying Zeb is gonna POOP HIS PANTS is worse...!! 🤣 When I was watching the anime, I was like:
"DAMN, MCMAHON!! YOU DID NOT HAVE TO DO ZEB LIKE THAT...!!!" 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I like both lines, but the anime version made me laugh more...!! 😖
Change Number 3:
Yor says Director McMahon in the manga, while in the anime just says Director. Honestly, nothing too major...! I just noticed this difference when looking back through the manga...!! 😁
And finally...
Change Number 4:
I honestly like both lines, but I think I prefer how the manga version is praised...! 😎
And I think that's all I wanted to talk about for this episode...! I'm definitely loving how the Cruise Arc is coming along in the anime thus far, so I gotta say that WIT STUDIOS and CloverWorks absolutely are KILLING IT!! 😆 Also, one of mine absolute favorite scenes in this arc is happening next week in the anime and I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!! 😁
I wanted to post this review on Saturday, but I like I said, I got sidetracked yesterday... 😅 So, I'll be seeing manga readers later today and anime fans next week as usual...!! 😊

Prompt: Countdown Pairing: Twilight and Yor
One month.
Twilight isn't sure how much time he has left before he's found. It had been a simple mission find the base, get the file, and get out. He wasn't really sure how it went so wrong. He had just found the file, and was leaving when Yuri walked in. Yuri was calm, and proud in his uniform. Walked in like he knew Twilight would be there like it was planned. Twilight put up a fight, but he didn't want to fight Yor's brother he knew how much she loved him. In the end hold back got him captured.
They locked him in a windowless cell. It was baren. No bed no sink nothing. They didn't even feed him at first. They thought he would talk if he was hungry enough, but he wouldn't. He still remembered the hunger from his childhood, and what he was working so hard for. He wouldn't break.
They asked about things he didn't even have answers for anyway. It seemed that one of their people had lost an experiment, and they thought he had stolen it. A person they experimented on to give them mind reading powers. They hoped to make a master spy out of them. A perfect way to steal information. Sounded like something out of a bad kids show it him. Anya would like it he thought. He wouldn't talk and he wouldn't break. He just worried about his family. Yuri now knew who he was. What was stopping him from hurting his daughter. Yor was safe he was sure. Yuri wouldn't hurt his sister, but a little girl Twilight said was his before he met her. Well. He hoped Yor took care of her.
Three weeks.
Yor was worried. Loid told her he would be gone for a few days, but it had already been a week. Anya was asking where he was, and why he wasn't back yet. She was sure the sweet girl missed her father a lot. When Anya sat with Bond and started crying asking Yuri not to hurt her papa Yor didn't know what to do. Yor was sure Anya didn't think she over heard her since Anya was in her room and Yor was in the living room, but the poor thing was crying so loud. Yor didn't know what Yuri had to do with it. Maybe Anya just picked up on the fact Yuri didn't seem to like Loid. Yor knew her brother was having a hard time with her new life, but she knew he would hurt Loid.
She called Yuri that night asking him to come visit. She told him about how worried she was, and how upset Anya was too. He brother said he'd be there the next day. Yor was sure when he came over he could help Anya understand that he would never hurt her father. Yuri loved her and she was sure he loved her family too.
The next day Yuri got to their house early and helped Yor make breakfast. It was nice to cook with her brother. Anya woke up late, but it wasn't a school day so Yor didn't see the harm. Besides Loid being away was hard on the little girl. Anya stood in the doorway trembling as she looked at Yuri her eyes filling with tears. Yuri just watched the girl was the coldest look Yor had ever seen in his eyes. His smile was fake when he greeted the child, and when he took a step toward her Anya ran locking herself in her room.
Yor didn't understand what had happened but she showed Yuri out right away. She promised to call him later when Anya was feeling better, and asked that if he heard anything about Loid he tell her right away. Anya wouldn't come out of her room all day. When Yor went to bed that night she left a plate of food outside the door for Anya incase she got hungry. The next morning the plate was empty, but the door was still locked.
Two days went by before Anya came out of her room. Anya ate breakfast quietly before going to school. She seemed to have lost her spark. The normally happy and bouncy child was calm and quite as if she was worried about something. She was the same after school too. At dinner she pushed her food around her plate before pausing and looking at Yor.
"Mama," Anya started then paused a scared look on her face. Yor wondered why she seemed so scared. "Mama," she started again, "if I told you I could read minds would you still love me?"
What kind of question was that? Of course she would, but Yor paused before answering. Anya seemed to think this was important and Yor didn't want her to feel like she wasn't taking her seriously. Anya smiled as she thought over how to answer.
"It's fine mama. I know you take me seriously."
Yor dropped her fork. How? Could Anya really read minds?
"I can." Anya nodded answering her unasked question.
Yor stared at the child, but that meant every time she thought about her work Anya saw. The girl nodded.
"I know you kill people mama. I know a lot of things, but that's not important. Papa doesn't know I can read minds, and I would tell you but," Anya paused pushing her plate away. She seemed upset. "Papa's in trouble." She said looking up at Yor. "Papa's a spy, and he left on a mission. That's why he's gone."
Yor took a deep breathe. "Alright. How do you know he's in trouble?"
"Bond can see things that hasn't happened." Anya said reaching over to pet her dog. Yor blinked. Okay sure not the weirdest thing she learned tonight.
"What did he see?"
"He saw papa getting caught by the secret police. Yuri hurt him." Anya looked back at her.
Yuri no no that's not possible. Her brother wasn't a Stasi. Was he?
"I saw it in his mind when he came over. He wants to steal me to hurt papa, but he doesn't want to hurt you mama." Anya sounded so sad. It broke Yor's heart to listen to her, but the look in Anya's eyes told her she wasn't lying. Yuri had thought about hurting Anya and was currently hurting Loid.
Yor didn't care he was a spy. She loved him and the family they had made. Even if it might not be real. She hadn't loved him at first, but she had grown too and she was sure Loid had too. She had to find him! But how?
"I don't know mama." Anya's voice was soft and small. A scared little girl. Yor hated how upset she sounded. She worked as the Thorn Princess so her family would never be scared or in danger, but they were. She got up moving around the table and kneeling next the Anya. She wrapped her arms around the small child careful not to hold her too tightly.
"It's okay Anya. I'll take care of everything." Yor promised.
Two weeks.
Ever since Anya told her about her brother she had taken to trailing him. At night she wrapped Anya up in a black blanket, tied her to her back, and the two of them set off following Yuri. Anya told Yor his thoughts until the little girl fell asleep. They knew that he knew where Loid, or as Yuri was calling him in his mind Twilight, was but he hadn't gone back to the place yet. Yor was getting tired of waiting. She was about to give up for the night when Yuri got into a black car. It would be hard to follow him in it, but Yor could manage.
The car stopped outside an empty warehouse. Yuri went in and Yor found a spot close to the building to wait. She hated to wake up Anya but after a lap around the building showed no windows she had no other choice. They both needed to know what was happening in there. Anya woke up slowly. She tilting her head listening to thing Yor could hear with her eyes wide.
"Papa." The little girl whispered so softly Yor almost didn't hear her. So Loid was in there. Good. Now that she knew where Loid was she could find someone to watch Anya tomorrow while she came back here. She kept her mind empty until as she quickly left the area. If they were hurting Loid she didn't Anya to see too much. She was still just a child after all. It wasn't long before she felt Anya drift back to sleep, and she was free to let her mind wander. She was worried about what they could be doing to Loid. The Stasi was heartless, and she knew they would have no mercy for a spy.
One week.
Yor called Loid's friend to watch Anya. He had been shocked to get her call, but he had agreed to watch Anya and the child seemed to trust him. Yor wondered if he was also a spy, but Anya shook her head as soon as the thought entered Yor's mind so he must not be. But he still work with Loid somehow. Anya smiled at her as the little girl hugs the mans side. Yor found that she didn't really care what the man did for a living, so long as he kept Anya safe while she was gone. Anya seemed to trust him, so she would too.
She left as soon as she was sure Anya would okay without. She knew Anya knew where she kept all her weapons, so if nothing else they would have something to fight with. With a heavy heart she set out to get Loid back. Anya watched her from the window as she left. She really hoped they would be okay.
Six Days.
Loid hadn't felt anything but pain in weeks. Yuri was the one in charge of getting him to talk, and he seemed to take a sick pleasure in hurting him. Every bone in his legs and hands had been broken, and after a few sessions he started asking about Anya. Twilight had glared at him refusing to even open his mouth. When they figured out keeping food from him wouldn't make him talk they gave in and feed at least, but never at the same time. He knew they were making sure he couldn't find a way to keep track of how long he had been here, but it didn't matter he knew no one was coming for him. Wise wouldn't risk it. Not over one spy that they knew wouldn't talk.
Yuri taunted him with threats to his family, but Twilight knew they were empty. Yuri wouldn't hurt Yor, and Yor would never let anyone hurt Anya. He trusted his wife, and with nothing else to do she and Anya were all he thought about. Their family might have started out a farce but he had grown to love them both. He couldn't handle the thought of anything happening to either of his girls. For months he had been hoping the mission he was on with them would never end. As much as he wanted world peace he wanted to stay with them even more. The thought of never see Yor and Anya smile again hurt him far more than anything Yuri could do to him. He hoped Frankie found a way to break the news of his death to them softly. Hoped them stayed together and looked out for each other. Handler had a soft spot for his daughter maybe, just maybe, she would help them out somehow. It was a nice thought at least.
Twilight glared at the bars of his cell when he heard footsteps coming towards him. Yuri must be back. Didn't he have other things to do than torment him? The sharp footsteps didn't sound like Yuri's boots, but Twilight couldn't think of anyone else who would be here. Where ever here was. It sounded like, heels? What would someone in heels be doing here? He briefly thought of Yor, but quickly tossed the thought aside. Yuri would never involve his sister that was the only thing he was sure of here. Yor would be safe even if he didn't talk. It was the reason he was able to get even a small amount of sleep. The only people who could be used against him were safe, because the person who might want to use them against him never would. It left him and Yuri and a nice little stalemate. Twilight knew when it came it waiting the other out of would win. Even if winning this stalemate meant he was killed.
The swish of a dress brought him out of his thoughts. Definitely not Yuri then. Unless he was trying to confuse Twilight. His heart dropped seeing Yor walk into his line of sight. What was she doing here! She couldn't be here she needed to be at home where she was safe. If Yuri saw her here he would have no reason not to involve her in their little dance. She would be hurt, and he wasn't sure he could live with that. He stared at her heart racing as his breathing picked up speed. He couldn't seem to find the strength to call out to her. She looked around checking each cell that lined the hall until she saw his. Her eyes widened as she raced over to him.
"Loid-san! Hold on I'll get you out of here!" She tugged the pad lock on the bars lightly before nodding and stepping back. Twilight watched as she round house kicked the lock off the bars. He blinked once more reminded how scary his wife could be. "Yor what are you doing here?" He asked as she opened the cell and knelt next to him. She carefully looked over him and he could see her noting each injury.
"Anya misses you Loid-san, so I came to bring you home." She told him with a smile. She said it like she was telling him the weather. Gently she picked him up, and carried him out of the cell. She made her way though the halls with ease and he was shocked to see Stasi dead on the floor. Yor paid them no mind acting as if they weren't there at all, but Twilight's eyes jump to each one. Yuri wasn't among them, and Twilight was glad for it. If Yuri died Yor would be upset.
"I killed them all Loid-san, so you don't need to worry. No one will stop us from leaving." Yor told him in that same uncaring tone. He blinked up at her, and found her watching his while she walked. "Anya told me your a spy, so it only fair you know I'm an assassin. I work for Garden. I know you work for Wise. Anya can read minds, so I don't see much point in keep any secrets." She studied him while she spoke. He felt she was looking for his thoughts on the matter, but he felt overwhelmed.
Anya was the experiment Yuri was looking for. Thinking back he could see it. How the little girl seemed to know where he was all the time, and she always seemed to answer her homework questions right after he thought the right answer. He laughed. He would have a daughter who could read minds and still fail all her test.
"No one can find out you both know." He told her. He found he didn't really care that his family knew his secret, but if Wise found out. Well it wouldn't be good. "I can't go to a normal hospital though." He point out. He had no background after all.
"I know. I'm taking you to Frankie's. He's watching Anya now, but when he gets back he'll find you. Once there I'll patch up your legs so it looks like did. You can tell him you broke out yourself."
"Yor," He paused not knowing how to tell her about her brother or how his cover was blown.
"I know about Yuri. Anya told me."
"My cover."
"I'll make sure he deosn't say anything. All you have to do is not say he was there. I killed Everyone there. Yuri is the last one who knows who you are, and I'm sure I can get him to not say anything." She sounded sure, and while Twilight hated leaving his fate up to someone else he trusted Yor.
"Okay."
They didn't talk after that. Yor got him to Frankie's, patched him up to the point where it was believable that he got there alone, and left him. He rested, not quite sleeping but resting, until Frankie walked into the room. Frankie screamed when he found him, but rushed him to Wise before asking him anything.
Five Days.
Anya left for school in a much better mood. Yor had made sure not to show too much in her thoughts as she helped the child get ready for school, but let her know Loid was safe. Yor wasn't sure how long it would take before Loid was able to come home, but he would. In the mean time she needed to talk to her brother. She wouldn't let anyone hurt her family not even her brother. Calling Yuri and asking him over for lunch, just the two of them, was a quick way to get him over. She made food for them while she waited for him.
Opening the door she welcomed him in with a slightly cold smile, but she didn't think he noticed. He happily asked when she would move on from Loid, and the question made her blood boil. How dare he. How dare he act like he wasn't the reason her husband was away from her! Seething she set the table, and sat across from her younger brother.
"Yuri," she paused making sure he was focused on her, "can you tell me why you hurt my partner?" She asked voice cold. The normal warmth she held for him dimmer after seeing what he did to Loid. Yuri's eyes went wide as dinner plates, and he glanced around the room as if looking for someone.
"What do you mean sis?"
"I mean what I said." She didn't want to confirm Loid was a spy, so she would need to out herself. "I'm an assassin working for Garden, and you captured, and tortured my partner. Why?" Her eyes were cold as she watched her little brother shrink under her gaze. As much as she loved him she couldn't coddle him right now, and perhaps in her attempt to spare him if had over coddled him. She knew when they were younger she let him get away with anything.
"You," his voice trailed off while he stared at her. She tilted her head willing to wait for him to gather his thoughts. She did shatter his view of her after all. "You work for Garden?"
She rolled her eyes. "Yes Yuri. Now answer my question. My husband and work partner is in Garden care recovering from injuries you gave him. Why?" She glared at him, and he flinched away.
"I thought he was a spy! He was stealing files from us." Yuri's voice grew in pitch as he spoke. He was panicked. Yor almost felt bad, but remembering Loid in that cell broken and alone reminded her of what was at stake. As much as she loved her brother he had almost killed Loid. What would stop him from hurting Anya if he found out about her?
"He's not. Garden needed them. They sent both of us. When we heard you he choose to stay behind to buy me time to get away. I have to wonder, Yuri, what would have happened if you found me there?"
Yuri's faced paled. Yor had her answer. She would have been in that cell. She felt her heart break. Standing she walked to the door, and felt Yuri follow.
"Sis wait!" Yuri called after her, but she held up her hand and his voice fell.
"I did everything for you, Yuri. I joined Garden to be able to take care of you. Leave," she said as she opened the front door, "as long as you wear that uniform you aren't welcomed in my life. Don't let me find out you said anything about Loid and I. The Throne Princess doesn't know the meaning of mercy." She shoved him out the door at the last word, and closed it in his face. The thought that going after Loid meant going after her should stop him, but she was no longer sure it would. The threat would if nothing else.
One Day.
Loid was coming home today! Anya jumped up happily the moment the thought crossed her mind. Well there goes surprising her, Yor thought with a smile. They had probably never surprised Anya, but Yor wanted to try anyway. She had been careful of her thoughts around her daughter since, and just thinking of Anya as her daughter made the child smile. The two of them sat by the window waiting to see Frankie's car pull up. Once Yor saw it Anya was halfway to the door.
She walked the happy child down to greet her father at the car. Frankie helped Loid out of the car handing him a pair of crutches. Loid thanked him and smiled at her and Anya. Anya bounced in place, but didn't try to hug her father. Yor silently reminder Anya that Loid was in pain and couldn't carry her like he normally did.
The girl nodded glancing at her before returning to watch her father. The family made their way inside. Yor led Loid to the couch as soon as they got inside. Anya sat by his feet grabbing the remote and put the new channel Loid favored on. He smiled and patted the girls head. Glancing around Loid made sure Frankie hadn't followed them up.
"So, mind read huh?" Loid asked looking at his daughter. Anya looked up at him as Yor sat next to him. There were tears forming in Anya's eyes.
"Please don't get rid of me! I only told mama so she could save you!" Anya cried her voice a high pitch only an upset child could hit. It tugged on Yor's heart how scared she sounded. No child should ever be scared of being tossed away like trash.
"I won't. Anya I'm not mad at you, and you aren't going anywhere." Loid promised his hand on her head. "It does worry me a bit. The Stasi are looking for a mind reader that they made." The statement didn't sound like a question. Loid seemed to think the mind reader in question was Anya. Yuri was looking for her daughter?
"The mean doctors made me study all the time." Anya said, and suddenly the child's hatred of studying made sense. Yor saw Loid put it together too his eyes hard.
"I see." Loid paused watching the little girl. "Wise said I could keep my job since everyone in the compound was killed. I guess we can all work together now." Loid smiled at them both. "However I don't think I'll be much help till my legs and hands finish healing."
Anya and her both nodded. "For now," Yor said leaning softly into Loid's sides careful to not put much weight on him. "We should work on be a family."
"Yes. A family. No more secrets." Loid promised kissing Yor's cheek.

omg bc you asked for loid thirsts the other day i binged the series (i’ve been meaning to for months now, that just kicked my ass into gear lmao)
but loid feels like the kinda person who’s so used to taking care of everybody else that the moment somebody starts taking care of him he just ~melts~ 😮💨 give him a handjob or blowjob, and don’t ask for anything in return, just doin’ it ‘cause ya genuinely love him and want him to relax? mans is getting a ring not even a day later
#𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐘𝐎𝐔 — 𝐋𝐎𝐈𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐑.
tags: nsfw, gn! reader, hand jobs
notes: sobs i am so mentally ill over him THANK YOU FOR SPARING SOME THOUGHTS
loid can’t remember the last time he’s had time to just sit. nothing to do, nowhere to be, and no one to find. but he’s here right now, slumped across the couch, you seated on his lap, and he thinks maybe he should find more time for this—because this, you, this is a real shame to miss out on.
it’s almost muscle memory for him. it’s almost instinctive to reach for your waistband and sink his fingers past your folds—but then you shove his hand away. he furrows his brows, wants to say something, and he even opens his mouth to voice his thoughts, but then you palm him through his pants, and all that manages to escape his mouth is a choked groan.
“just relax,” you murmur, pressing a small kiss to his cheek, and he breathes heavier as your hands travel past his waistband to wrap around his stiff length, exposing it to the cool air as he hisses. “you just sit there and look pretty,” you hum.
he almost blushes—though you notice that the tips of his ears are just the slightest bit pink.
“what about you—”
“some other time,” you cut him off, “jus’ wanna take care of you.”
he frowns. loid forger doesn’t get looked after, it’s just not something that happens. ever. he’s used to being the one that does the looking after, the one that makes sure everyone’s okay before himself—and it’s meant to stay that way. but his cock is pulsing in your hand, hot and heavy and aching to cum, and he almost contemplates if he should really be putting up a fight.
it’s second nature to protest though. “but i always—”
“c’mon,” you groan, “just let me.” and you’re pouting.
you’re pouting like the prospect of him not relaxing, of him not melting under your touch as you care for him is making you upset. it’s foreign being handled so gently, like he’s fragile and dainty and vulnerable (which he’s not—ever), but he’ll admit it’s not exactly awful.
he must look a little skeptical still because suddenly, without warning, your thumb smears the pre cum leaking from his slit around his tip before gently stroking him a few times. his eyes flutter shut, and a low, quiet groan falls from his lips.
“see? it’s not so bad relaxing, huh?” you whisper against the shell of his ear, still dragging your palm up and down his hardened length, squeezing slightly at the tip each time. “you get to feel good. isn’t that nice? just let me help you relax.”
“fuck,” he grunts, and his hips do a little twitch that has him thrusting into your fist just a little, chasing the friction before he can stop himself. he wonders if it could be that bad to just listen to you this once. “okay,” he mumbles, eyes squeezing shut, “yeah, okay,” he finally caves.
you murmur a happy little “yay,” and he’s less than willing to admit he almost imagines you with a wedding band around your finger. he quickly tries to fight the scene in his head of your ring adorned hand wrapping around his cock before he cums too fast.
but then you squeeze around him a little tighter, your free hand moving to cup his balls and making his head fall back against the couch, and he’s not sure if he can hold himself out for too long in the first place. he moans, eyes squeezing shut as his lips tug between his lips, and your thumb glides through his slit. for the first time, he seems to be caught off guard—if the slight hitch in his throat is of any indication.
“i love you,” you say gently, littering soft kisses along his jaw, hand still gliding up and down his cock. “always taking care of me—you deserve the same too, yeah?”
everything feels hot, your skin on his and your breath fanning against his ear as you praise him. he feels pleasure burn through his nerves, chest heaving up and down as he approaches his orgasm slowly. loid can’t help but let out a soft gasp when you increase your pace, louder groans spilling from his lips—and his lips are pretty, so you lean in and press a soft peck to them, once, twice, then a third time before he desperately kisses you back.
it’s a messy kiss, a light clash of teeth and labored breaths as he pants against your mouth, letting out sweet little moans that you drink in as his fucks into your fist. he’s flushed, skin a dust of blush over his face and peeking through what little you can see of his chest from his shirt. his cock twitches in your hand, tip swollen and red, leaking pre cum and glistening in your hand as you stroke him.
“fuck, like that. feels so good,” he rasps, “g-gonna…gonna cum.”
“c’mon, baby,” you encourage, “just let go.”
a few more strokes of your hand as the other lightly fondles with his balls, and you feel him twitch in your hold once more. if you didn’t know any better, you’d say the noise he makes is a strangled whine as he spills into your hand, his own hands gripping your hips tightly for stability as he bucks up desperately into your fist and rides out his high. he groans your name lowly, voice cracking in the middle before finding your lips again as thick ropes of cum paint your hand white.
“god, fuck,” he pants against your mouth, and with a few more spurts of cum, he finishes, burying his head into the crook of your neck as he pants, trying to catch his breath. “you’re gonna be the death of me.”
“just wanna show you i love you,” you huff, face softening as he slowly wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you a little closer. “you should let me take care of you more often.”
his heart does a little jump, and something unfamiliar bubbles up in him as loid takes in your words. and he’s not entirely sure what to say, so for now, he settles for sighing with content into your skin as your clean hand threads through his sweaty locks gently.
guys he’s so hot i’m gonna throw up

The vibe Melinda gave off at the end was that she realize she just met someone who is naive and stupid strong. Who clearly knows nothing about her, and that gets her engines going. (Like legit I read her face as someone who was turned on but not so much in a sexual nature) Everyone saying it looks like she was holding back laughter. It looks like to me she was trying to hold onto her mask and keep it together. I think, she wants Anya and Damien to be friend just so she can keep Yor around.
A women who doesnt know who she is, doesnt suck up to her for some potical gain, is honest and strong to a fault. In melinda eyes she probably hit the fucking jack pot of people. Yor whole character is based on gut feeling and emotions. While everyone else is play 5d chess. Yor over here exited about the different styles the pieces comes in. And thats not a bad thing but it means people can use her.
Yor feels so isolated and alone because everyone else wants to hide shit. While she is just an open book, expect for the killing people bit. She hardly touches on that, like that so seperate from who she is everyday that the Yor we see is who she is.
Melinda makes me worried but not too worried because I feel like, Melinda is ready to play the longcon.
The person who makes me worried the misy is the Shopkeeper. You can kinda use him as a frame/comparison to how he raised Yor to how Desmonds are rasing Damien. He was hands off when it came to her life outside of killong. But when it came to everything else he was very invovled. How else would she be a notorious Assassin from the secret group known as the garden. Franky even talks about them the first couple of chapters.
Yor ask him if she can get married he says yes. She ask if she can make friends with Melinda and he says yes BUT warns her. Then preks up when he hears where Loid maybe poitically leaning. This man hunts down and kills consertatives that like a red ping on his radar. Thats not good!
But let me back it up a little before I get into the the fucking nightmare it must be to have the shopkeeper now be interested in Yor outside life, and adress Yor need to ask for premssion to do things such as get married and have friends. The married one is easy, the shopkeeper is kinda like her dad and boss. It would be nice to have his blessing. You can tell she feels very differently about the Shopkeepers opinon. The premission about friends feels more guided towards a daughter asking her dad for advice and also Melinda is higher postion in society and that should be something you tell your assassian boss your doing so if something fucked up happens down the line he can prepare for it.
That all being said I also think he just raised Yor to be painfully honest with him. Just for the simple fact Yor can't lie. And what I mean is Loid lies all the time and is very good at it. Hes a spy he has to be, Yor legit can't do it. The first lie she ever says is to her brother and all she said was she forgot and the only reason it worked is cause her brothers a dumbass who loves her. No one knows she a assassian so she doesn't have to talk about it.
Prefect example the "Cruise Arc" Yor tells Loid she working. And because Yor is always honest and never lies. Loid never looks any deeper and guess what the people around her also confrims she is "working". All the heavy lifting in the lie department relies on other people.
This is probably how the shopkeeper raised Yor. It easier for her to be honest than it is for her to try and be sneaky. But also by the time you get to trying to ask questions shes already slit your throat. Which means there no need for her to waste the mental energy of playing 4D chess with everyone else. She will just eat the pieces.
If we take all that and go back up to him perking up st the mention of Loids potical veiws. He takes everything Yor says as facts, she would never lie to him. The fear comes in is if Yor honesty makes the Shopkeeper look into Loid. Because the Shopkeeper seems proactive and if theres any scent of Loid being a threat. He will kill him, of course Yor will object but we've already seen that he may look dolice and old but he still can fight.
The shopkeeper is more of a immediate threat and thats what makes him scary. Yeah Melinda and Desmond are up to some shit but they arent gonna pull any tricks right away. The shopkeeper legit has one of his best assassians in the house, he has more skin in the "game" so to speak.

😲📸 can i ask for a aleksi and maya first time interaction? it'd be so complex to they meet to me
Here's a gift to my followers, especially those that crave badass women vibes
alexandra and maya sakamaki: the beginning of the end of the beginning
Hmm if I'm being honest, Aleksi and Maya's relationship kind of mirrors Loid and Yor's dynamic from Spy x Family (just make it platonic big sis-lil sis friendship and imagine them working together)
It's like spy x assassin combo right there
So yeah as mentioned from @besnella 's post of how Aleksi first saw Yui, it was also the same time Aleksi met Maya and guuurl the height difference between them is so large, Aleksi looks like her big sis (I want a big sis omg)
Just imagine Aleksi's 185 cm height vs Maya's 145 one. Go figure.
Aleksi thought "ah this girl's cute" cause Maya has this Japanese standard look on her, ya know long coal hair, sharp doll eyes, pale skin, the works (she actually reminds Aleksi of those Japanese kokeshi dolls, ya know it's like Japanese matryoshkas)
On the other hand, the only thing that comes to Maya's mind when she saw Aleksi was "fire" and "power" (Alexa, play Girl on Fire)
Aleksi heard of Maya being a former human who turned into an incomplete vampire bcos of a blood transfusion spell, then was later on sired by one of the Sakamaki's and married her to seal the deal.
Yeah, as if Karlheinz wreaking havoc in the demon and human world is not enough, he had to make his spawn man child (this is Kanato but let's pretend we don't know him) wed the poor doll.
So one time Aleksi was becoming the queen of the night, enjoying the party to bliss when she nearly had her fall and someone was pouring wine.
Good thing, Maya managed to save her, catching her by the arm before matters got worse.
And yes, some obnoxious gaslighting vampire noble became the victim of that pouring wine but we don't care abt them cause they just think of us humans as blood bags anyway
That was just the beginning.
One day, Aleksi was assigned on a mission, but not just a mission where she kills and retrieves info then go.
The thing is, she can never be caught. Like she had to make it seem like the vampire drug den and all the people did not exist. And even though it's relatively easy, Aleksi cannot move hastily.
Because one, the den was located in the human world and the person behind it was some famous personality sht. It's like Karlheinz being Togou Sakamaki in that world.
Pft. Fucking asshole
But she was just informed that someone is backing her up from the shadows so she just needs to do her usual work.
So yeah the mission went smoothly. Aleksi murdered the mastermind, got the files she needed from their inventory room, etc. She was about to leave the damn place when she heard a man scream from the hallway.
The next thing, the fvcking sht was crawling his way towards her.
Aleksi made a stance, readying her gun to end his poor fate when the man suddenly stopped in his tracks then died, blood spilling from his mouth.
After a few minutes, Aleksi saw Maya enter the room casually, unscathed like nothing happened while holding her silver bow and arrow.
Maya bowed to her in respect.
"Thank you for your work, miss. I will handle the rest."
Aleksi didn't expect that but oh well
And the next thing, Maya summoned all her skeleton familiars from the demon world to fix the mess in the den. Like the den has to be freaking empty, to a point that no one had been there.
"Have you been doing this for a long time now?"
Maya nodded. "It's quite hard to clean blood once it has dried up so I've been fixing things before they get quite difficult."
And that's how they bonded. Turns out, Aleksi will prob have missions involving Maya since the vampire doll is tasked to ensure no mythical beings (esp vampires) are causing havoc in the human world.
Aleksi "So do you just cover up their mess or you kill them?"
Maya "Depends. Most of the time, I just kill them in the dream world so they would die of natural causes."
It was purely a strict business relationship between the two... until Aleksi started sending her snake familiars to Maya so they can bond over other things like shopping, spa, salon etc
Like there was one time Maya was serving snacks to the Sakamaki bros when a small snake appeared and wrapped itself around her hands
I swear Ayato freaked out and thought their family doll has a secret pet snake. Even Reiji was so ready for his lecture when Maya just casually told them
"It's a snake familiar sent by a business partner."
But yeah Aleksi taught Maya things like dressing up for the mission, what kind of makeup she should put on during disguise. Even taught her how to wear a wig properly so Maya won't have to deal with tons of hairstyle accessories just to make her hair different for every mission
"Just dye your hair, Maya-chan! I bet you'll look pretty in blonde."
"... I still don't want to."
Sometimes they would bond during training sessions, especially when Maya wants to vent out abt the Sakamaki bros, like when they screw up somewhere and want her to clean up their mess.
"I swear I will kill Ayato-san if he weren't my husband's older brother." 💀💀💀
But yeah overall they trust each other completely with their life, and it's evident by how they watch each other's back during missions.
If Aleksi was the one fighting the battles, Maya will work in the shadows to ensure no one gets in her way.

I Just have a lot of feelings so you all have to deal with this thought that came into my head.
Y'all know I love Spy x Family, this is a damn given. And I also respect other people's opinions. But I have a hill on which I am willing to die. And if you don't think it would happen, you can fight me. Loid, upon finding out Anya was being bullied at school, is absolutely incensed. But it's nothing compared to Yor's murderous rage. They both put their feelings aside to comfort Anya who is just distraught over everything. After the chaos of this dies down some he gives Yuri a call to come calm his damn sister down from her anger, while he's holding this crying little girl. And when Yuri chills her out, and Anya is asleep with Yor watching over her, he goes to leave, when he notices Loid drinking- hitting the bottle pretty hard actually. This is a first. Yuri: Uh... You okay? And it's the straw that breaks the camel's back for Loid, who breaks down in (totally fake and definitely not real) tears about how he knows his daughter is being bullied, how some of it is because he isn't a rich or important person, and how the rest of it is because of things entirely out of Anya's control, like her height. And he goes in on himself about how could he not have realized this was happening to her, while Yuri is just watching him like "What the fuck am I supposed to do with this". He doesn't know that half of this is him just expunging his guilt for using Anya for his mission (as it should be). He gets his break, though, when Anya calls for Loid, who wipes the tears off of his face and yells that he's coming. He apologizes to Yuri and goes to Anya. And after a minute or so, Yuri looks in on Anya's room. She's sandwiched between his sister and brother in law, obviously heartbroken, and the both of them are looking at one another for answers about how to help her. It was in that moment that Yuri decided that while he absolutely did not like the idea of anyone being with his sister, Loid Forger was decidedly a good guy... Just a very suspicious one.
And that's the tea ☕️

A chronological analysis on Twilight and Yor - Part 8
*This is part of an ongoing post series. If you missed the Introduction/Part 1, click here*
----------
The next day, Yor's incredibly low self-esteem resurfaces, not only from the events of the night before, but also from Anya commenting that she's a bad cook (it's subtle, but Anya was probably going to say something about Yor's true identity when she read Twilight's mind and realized he was suspicious of Yor, but then thought better of it).
In Yor's view, not only can she not cook, but she couldn't even go through with the kiss, and it was only thanks to Loid that everything with Yuri was smoothed over in the end. She misinterprets him being suspicious of her as him being upset with how useless of a wife she's been.
@greatwyrmgold suggests that Yor has impostor syndrome and/or social anxiety, and I agree with that. We saw a bit of it early on when she saved Anya from the thugs who wanted to steal her Eden uniform, where the only thing she could focus on after was what a failure she was for destroying the groceries in the process. @twiyoriz pointed out another example way back when she first met Loid at the tailors. When he commented on how pretty she was and she started to pursue him before finding out he had a child (and probably a wife too), she never thought he did anything wrong by flirting with her – she only blamed herself for almost asking out a married man. It's even worse in this episode. She can barely concentrate at work and ends up confiding in her coworkers about her situation. She even thinks about giving Loid some of the money she earns from her assassin jobs so she could be useful to him.
It's interesting to note that during her encounter with the fake SSS officers, Yor only starts to revert to "assassin mode" when Franky makes a grab at her. But even then, her response is that he shouldn't touch her because she's a married woman, not because she doesn't want to be touched. She then goes further by threatening them if they do anything to harm Loid or Yuri. As usual, she really only loses it when someone threatens a person she loves, but not when she's the one under attack. Even afterwards, she never blames the SSS officers for totally screwing up and almost making a false arrest…all she can think about is what she did wrong – almost getting arrested and almost attacking a government agent.
ProfessorViral made some good points about this part of Yor's character in his video analysis . To summarize, Yor dedicated her entire life to raising Yuri and ensuring his success. This more or less became her purpose in life, and because she never had time for other "normal" relationships like with friends or lovers, the only purpose she could see for herself is how she could be useful to him, which she was by becoming an assassin. But when she took on this new role of (fake) wife/mother, because of how she had lived her life until then, she can only see her worth in terms of her usefulness to Loid and Anya, just like with Yuri. She doesn't know how else to live besides being useful to others, yet the people she wants to be useful to don't need the one thing she knows how to offer: money from her assassin jobs. Because her assassin profession holds no benefit to them, she assumes being a "normal" wife/mother is what she has to be instead. Even though Loid and Anya never demanded this from her, outside influences, like her coworkers, the Eden interviewers, and the SSS, do – while she gets nothing but adoration in the Forger household, outside of that she's bombarded with expectations of what a wife/mother should and shouldn't be. Because of all this, she becomes conflicted, which only worsens her imposter syndrome.
Twilight does well keeping his emotions in check throughout this episode. But what's interesting is that, while he denied feeling guilty about being suspicious of Yor, when Franky tells him to keep his emotions out of the picture, he doesn't deny anything. He pauses for a moment (a pause in the anime, while the manga adds an extra panel of his placid expression to signify a pause) before bantering with Franky about the fake mask he was wearing.
But this won't be the last time Twilight doesn't try to deny feeling emotions for his (fake) family when someone brings it up. And yet, remember how quick he was to deny anything flirtatious about himself and Yor when Anya mentioned it? There's a lot of moments like this that show that Twilight is much more likely to lose his composure around his (fake) family than with anyone else. I think at least one reason he's quicker to dismiss his feelings in front of Yor and Anya is because he knows if he let's any deeper emotions show, they may feel a need to reciprocate, and that will only make things more difficult for when he eventually has to leave them.
When Twilight finally meets up with Yor, he sees how depressed she is. She even flat out tells him that she's useless because she can't keep her own clothes clean (something he's to blame for).
It's here that Twilight returns the confidence boost that Yor gave him not too long ago when he started thinking he was a failure as a father. While it's again debatable how much of what he's saying here is just "for the mission" stuff (since he can't let Yor get depressed) it's obvious his remarks about how exhausting it can be to always put on a performance, is spoken from the heart. In this case and many others, while "for the mission" may be the reason Twilight says many of the nice things he says to Yor, Anya, and others, what he actually says are things he truly believes in, especially when talking about a broader topic like this.
Twilight is momentarily thrown off his groove when Yor tells him that she's glad she married him. For the first time since he started being suspicious of her, he looks noticeably surprised at something she said.
He was probably expecting just a "thank you" or "I'll keep doing my best." As I suggested during Yuri's visit, at this point he may be starting to feel something for Yor, so the fact that she so sincerely said that she's glad she married him right after he put her through such a bad situation, probably poked at his conscience. His expression immediately darkens (a sign that his true feelings want to surface) as he recalls Franky's words about him feeling guilty for suspecting her. He then tightly clutches the bug in his hands before throwing it away, then suggests that they get a cake to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary – all of which are subtle but clear reactions that show his satisfaction at not having to be suspicious of her anymore.
This is all just more evidence of how well Twilight and Yor complement each other, not just as parents to Anya, but for each other as individuals. While their core values and morals of wanting to do good in the world are the same, their personalities and how they view everything around them is vastly different. As also mentioned in Twiyoriz's post, Twilight, being a spy, always expects the worst from others, is always suspicious, and as such, refuses to let emotions cloud the reasoning skills he needs to survive. Yor, however, is the opposite – she always sees the best in others, will always put blame on herself first, and she reacts by emotions before reason. And yet, when Twilight was trying to overanalyze Anya's studying motivation and his own ineptitude as a father, Yor brought in the much-needed emotional side of things that he was missing. Likewise, in this case, when Yor's emotional instability was getting the best of her, Twilight's words helped her put things in a rational perspective that she never would have thought of on her own. A balance of strictness and rationalizing, as well as emotional understanding and support, is needed not just in parenting, but in a relationship as well.

Blind Spots | Free
AO3 | First | Previous Not beta read. Because my brother and I have not had our schedules match up since I finished writing this. I contemplated waiting until he gets back from work to let him beta it then, but I'm not sure if that would work because of other things going on today, so I decided to just post it sooner. I feel a little uncertain about its quality, but I hope its okay.
free | adjective
\ ˈfrē \
2d : enjoying personal freedom :not subject to the control or domination of another
3a : not determined by anything beyond its own nature or being : choosing or capable of choosing for itself
4a : relieved from or lacking something and especially something unpleasant or burdensome
9c : capable of moving or turning in any direction
-
“I never thought I’d see the day we work together.”
“Well, people often put aside petty disputes for a shared interest.”
“PETTY?” the woman raised her voice, looking like she was about to burst a vein. What had they called her again? “You call holding a grudge about Garden killing off several talented agents petty? Do you know how difficult it is to train someone in this field? It certainly takes more finesse than your own, H—”
“Now, Handler,” Loid interrupted. Or was Twilight more appropriate in this situation? Oh, he called the lady who argued with the Shopkeeper Handler. So that was it! “Let’s not go spilling more secrets here than necessary in this… alliance.”
Twilight looked across the table, eyes meeting with Yor’s, and she looked away quickly, feeling embarrassed about seeing him now after saying such a final goodbye. Of course she was glad for this prospect to be able to go back with them, but now she felt like she had made a big show of it for nothing.
Handler sighed. “How annoying, but you’re right as usual, Twilight. Let’s focus on planning out how we’re going to take them on.”
Yor was hopeless for understanding the big picture for plans like these, so she only paid attention to the parts she had to do. Fighting, thankfully. Not that she was good for anything else.
Throughout the planning session, she made a pattern of letting her eyes wander over to Twilight, and then looking away as soon as he noticed, which was always immediate. Finally, after about the tenth or twelfth time it happened, Yor made a decision. They were doing this so that they could get back together without any worries of another attack. Things needed to be resolved, preferably sooner than later. And not avoiding him was a good step on that path.
So Yor timidly stopped herself from looking away and met Twilight’s gaze again. It was surprisingly soft, and a corner of his mouth quirked up like he was glad. Then he mouthed, emphatically enough that even she could understand what he was saying. ‘Is there anything wrong?’
Yor clenched her hands at her skirt, but made a small but curt shake of her head.
He smiled more prominently now, lip curling at both sides and eyes wrinkling at the edges. ‘Good.’
They just stared at each other like that for a moment, neither one able to break away. Twilight smiled, and Yor blushed, somewhat embarrassed, but still somehow comforted by his attention all the same.
Twilight was the one who finally broke the gaze, looking away to contribute something to the discussion that had been going on around them. Yor looked to the other side, feeling her face heat up even much more than it had just looking at him, embarrassed now about the time they had just spent looking at each other. How long had it been? It felt like they had just gazed into each other’s eyes for a very long time indeed. Had anyone else noticed?
Well, as concerned as she may have been, it didn’t take her very long to glance back over to Twilight. He was looking at her again. Smiling. Yor slowly turned her head back to facing him and it broadened.
‘Do you want to go together with me?’ he mouthed.
What? What was he talking about?
Her confusion must’ve shown on her face, because he gestured to the Shopkeeper and Handler who were still smoothing out some of the details, and raised an eyebrow. ‘Well?’
Ah. He was talking about the plan to take out the gang, wasn’t he?
Did she? Yor wasn’t sure. But… for all her bluster and embarrassment, she also couldn’t think of a reason not to. Being with Loid, and in a strange way by extension, Twilight, made her feel calm.
She nodded. ‘I’d love to be with you.’
Was she imagining things, or did Twilight actually look away, blushing? Yor looked down at her feet, not quite wanting to confirm in case it wasn’t.
“Well then,” Twilight said, his voice ringing in her ears. “I believe Yor and I will go now, if we’ve figured out everything. Alright?”
Yor’s head shot up. Had they figured out everything? Since when?
“Oh, you’re going with the Thorn Princess, are you, Twilight?” Handler laughed.
He shrugged. “Why not? I’d rather be with my wife. Not that she needs the help whatsoever, but I feel like I’d be more useful as backup for her than as just another person for the strike force.”
He held out his hand towards her and she took it. As they left the room, they were followed by wolf whistles and requests to “leave some kills for the rest of us!”
Twilight glanced at her once they were out of earshot. “Sorry about that. I would hope that they would all be bit more serious in such a situation, but...”
“It’s fine!” Yor laughed. “I don’t mind it, actually. As long as I’m with you, at least... I don’t quite mind people knowing how I feel. As long as they don’t tease me too much about it, that is.”
She felt him squeeze her hand briefly. “I feel... the same.”
It was strange. They were still working in their respective professions currently, but now that they were alone, it felt more like he was Loid than Twilight. And she had a hard time correcting herself in her head.
Yor turned to him, and saw a slight blush on his cheeks. Was he saying because he loved her the same way she loved him? Of course, that had been established last night, hadn’t it?
Before she could say anything about it, Loid looked forward and said, “Ah! We’re here!”
Yor looked forward, and saw the building ahead he was referring to. And the large words “Knife Show” on the side of it.
She turned back to Loid. “Wait. We’re just marching right in there?”
“Yes. Didn’t you hear the plan?”
“Apparently not.” She thought she had, but he had been... well, rather distracting. Not that she needed to mention that. “So what is it, anyway?”
Loid smiled in amusement, but he quickly launched into an explanation. “Anya was far off the mark about it being some kind of cooking competition, but this building does in fact have a front that is open to the public. A legitimate knife show, which you might enjoy. And we’re going to go in and be the bait.”
Yor blinked. “We are?”
He raised an eyebrow. “Do you have a problem with that at all?”
“No, that’s fine. But what is everyone else doing?”
“They looked at the building plans,” he said. “They’re going to sneak in while we’re taking all their attention, and take care of the head of the organization before coming to help us polish off the rest of the lackeys.”
They arrived at the ticket booth, and Loid paused to pay their admittance. The booth operator eyed them warily, but let them pass without any difficulty.
Once they were inside, Yor was fascinated by all the blades. Knives, big, small, some that were truly enormously large to be considered a knife. There were some of the finest knives of modern make, like those from Japan, whose blacksmiths had once forged katanas. There were some ancient ones, some rusted over and others well maintained. She even spotted one with Damascan steel!
“Are you enjoying this?” Loid asked.
Yor jolted. Just how enamored had she been with them, to even forget his presence? But she nodded. “Yes, I have absolutely loved this.”
He smiled. “I’m glad. Because we’re about to have company.”
She glanced around, and sure enough, there were less people around them now. And the other “patrons” around them were stocky men, waiting nearby almost as if waiting for their chance.
They slowly began to form a circle around Twilight and Yor. He turned and pressed his back up against hers. “Are you ready to take them on?”
Yor reached back, laced her fingers through Twilight’s and gave his hand a quick but comforting squeeze before drawing her stiletto knives out from where they had been hidden. “With you, I feel like I could take on anything.”
-
Loid looked at his wife, arms crossed and refusing to look at him. “What? Are you still mad that they didn’t let you punch the leader of the gang?”
“Of course!” she turned around to look at him, a pout still on her face. “I understand that WISE is going to interrogate him to find out if there are any other organizations that know about my identity to see if there’s any reason we might need to move, but still. He went after my family. Why can’t I just give him one tiny little punch?”
It wasn’t that he didn’t understand where she was coming from, especially since Yor’s emotions seemed to have such a large impact on her. But at the same time... “They don’t want to risk a concussion.”
“Still.”
Loid sighed as he sat down next to her on the couch of the living room. “Look,” he said. “I understand that you’re angry at him, but what really matters is that our family is safe now, isn’t it? And if we know how he learned your identity and where you lived and if he spread the word to anyone, we’ll be that much safer.”
Yor sighed, relaxing back into the couch. “I suppose. It’s just that the past... day has been really hard.”
Logically, he was also aware that it hadn’t been even a full twenty-four hours yet since that first small group came against her, but with everything that had happened, it had worn on him enough to feel like a week or more. And while a lot of it had happened just earlier that day, there was something important that had happened last night. A couple of things, if he was being honest.
“Yor... we need to talk,” he began. Wait. That sounded bad. Loid needed to give more context. “It was one thing when we knew each other’s identities but ignored it to keep things as they were. But now that we both know we both know, something needs to change.”
She looked at him with wide eyes and eyebrows slanted upwards in concern. “But I thought the Shopkeeper and your Handler talked about it and came up with an alliance.”
“More like a tentative compromise not to step on each other’s feet for the moment because of us, but yes.” Loid shook his head. “But I wasn’t talking about them. I was talking about us. And how it’s going to affect how we do things.”
“Oh.” Yor frowned. “Won’t they just be the same as they were before?”
He shrugged. “Mostly, yes. I’m talking about little things, like just being honest with each other where we’re going. Whether you’re going on a job at night or just out with friends. I’ll let you know when I’m going on a mission, and tell you what time I expect to get back. Does that sound good to you?”
She nodded. “I’d... like that, actually. We won’t tell Anya, though?”
“No,” Loid said. He hadn’t specifically thought it, but he most certainly felt it. Though that did give him another idea. “We should come up with some secret code, so that we can tell each other at least what we’re off to even if we’re around others.”
“That’s good.” Yor hesitated, before continuing. “Um... I was wondering if it was okay if I ask something from you?”
He raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “What is it?”
“Is Loid your real name?” she blurted out. “And if it isn’t, could you tell me?”
“No to both,” he said, somewhat sadly. It was actually [REDACTED], and he wished he could tell her, but that actually was even more crucial to keep a secret than Twilight. “That is very, very classified information.”
“Ah,” she said, looking down at her lap, embarrassed. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to...”
“Yor.” He cut her off, facing her and taking her hands in his so that she’d look at him. “The fact that I can’t tell you the name my parents gave me when I was born doesn’t change who I am. I may be a spy, but I’m also Anya’s father, your husband, and your Loid.”
Loid took one hand from hers to cup her cheek. “I don’t love you any less because of it.”
“Love...” Yor pulled her freed hand to her mouth. “You love me?”
He nodded. “I told you last night, didn’t I?”
“Well, yes you did, but I was almost convinced that was just wishful thinking and I...” She brought her hands back down so that she was now gripping his. “I love you. Loid, Twilight, whatever your real name is, I love you.”
Loid leaned forward and rested his forehead against Yor’s, and they just sat there for a long time, smiling at each other.
And that was all he needed, really. Him choosing her, her choosing him, not because they were married, or thought they were obligated to for some reason or because someone told them they had to. But just because they loved each other and wanted to do that.
Of course, there was still a lot of work to do. Deciding what, exactly, they wanted their relationship to be like, and figuring out how to make it actually work. But what mattered most was that they loved each other. And he knew that they could work through everything else as it came.
And for him, that was enough.
-
Anya had worked on studying and homework for a long time after getting home, mostly because she did feel a little guilty for missing school today.
But now she was done, and she was hungry.
So she walked into the kitchen, where it smelled like something good was being made for dinner. But what she didn’t expect was for both Mama and Papa to be in there cooking, Papa’s arms around Mama, trying to help her cook.
“No, you can’t let it burn, otherwise it’ll—!” He cut off as the food somehow managed to actually catch fire. Then he managed to, surprisingly calmly, remove it from the hot burner and place a lid over the pan so that the flames would die from lack of oxygen, she knew from reading Papa’s mind.
Mama turned around enough to look at him. “Sorry about that. I ruined dinner.”
“It’s fine,” Papa said, rubbing her arm comfortingly. “You’re learning. I know I didn’t eat very many good meals when I was learning how to cook for myself. And I’m sure it will be good enough for us anyway.”
Anya looked back and forth between Mama and Papa. They were very close, smiling, and blushing. She perked up and smiled. “Papa and Mama are going to kiss!”
They both startled and looked down at her, before shyly glancing back up at each other.
“Well?” Papa asked, rubbing the back of his neck. “Shall we?”
Mama smiled, leaning in towards him.
“Yes.”
[MISSION COMPLETE]
I meant to do a fight scene. I swear. But they don't come as naturally to me and I let myself get too distracted with other parts of the story, so that's what happened. I decided to give Handler and the Shopkeeper an almost rival-like relationship. I think that is actually vastly unlikely, but that silly little scene just got totally stuck in my head and refused to let go. - Thank you for reading this whole thing! This week was a lot of fun with this, but… also a little stressful, since it's been a while since I've done a multi-chapter fic. I really enjoyed it, and I hope you did too. First | Previous

My valentine gift for @wondrousmay @whateversawesome @shiro-s2e2-erukinzu @tare-chan
♡♥︎♡♥︎♡♥︎♡♥︎♡♥︎♡♥︎♡♥︎♡♥︎♡♥︎♡
A turn to left, a turn to right.
It was one of those rare nights when Loid could not shut himself down to rest. He's wondering why it is so. Maybe it was because his day wasn't as tiring as usual or because of the overdose of caffeine.
In the last two hours, his sleeplessness was spent on staring at the ceiling accompanied with a symphony of unspoken thoughts. His frustration is such that he flipped away the blanket to his side.
*creaking of the door
Loid left the room and did not bother switching the lights on.
He sniffed in the scent of freshly changed curtains as he slid it to the side and without thinking much of it, he looked out of the window as he leaned himself against the corner. There is nothing remarkable below as it is already late into the night and the only ones to see are people who are yet to reach their own homes.
And so Loid had nothing to do but unconsciously stare at the night sky. Only a handful of shimmering stars can be seen due to the urban atmosphere. And more so, because of the full moon high up above, in all its glory.
"The moon is beautiful tonight." Came a voice behind Loid with no warning.
A combination of electrifying jolt and warm shiver spread throughout his body. It made him fix his posture but he did not turn. He didn't need to because he knew the voice. The one which has now grown overly familiar and speaks home to him, all that is sweet and serenity. Yet, like a stimulant, it was enough to affect his heartbeat and breathing which spiked even higher when the very person stood before him.
"You're still up at this time?"
"I'm sorry, Yor. I couldn't sleep." Loid said.
Under the moonlight, Yor looked as though she was its personified goddess.
"I went out to drink water. How about I brew you some tea?" She asked.
"That sounds good. Thank you."
It was merely a minute but Loid was holding his breath. He was caught off guard again by Yor and he contemplated how many times this already happened. In vain he lost count and he was aware that it will do him no good even if he knew. He'd still be vulnerable all the same.
"Here, Loid."
Yor held the cup by the corner near the base so handle is facing Loid. But even with this, their fingertips never failed to make contact. Surely, they would have flinched, if it wasn't for the tea-filled ceramic that they're holding.
Loid tried to compose himself and it frustrated him and he felt rather fidgety.
"Thank you." Loid could say no more than that.
He carelessly drew the cup and burned his lips. It showed on his face that it hurt him quite a bit. How he wish it didn't because Yor stepped nearer to him in worry.
"I must have served it too hot! I'm sorry... Does it hurt?"
Loid could not speak but shook his head, not wanting her to mind it. But it seems Yor did not notice and decided on something else. Swiftly, she held Loid's face and closed in for a kiss.
Loid froze. Again, he was caught off guard. This act is about to drive him mad. It was torture and pleasure at the same time. Though he wanted to shy away, there was no way to resist this attack that took him by surprise.
Soft and lingering. Swayed by the heavenly bliss. How Yor felt on his lips was perhaps the only remedy Loid needed.
"I'm going back now. You should do the same as soon as you're done. The bed feels too big without you." Yor said when she broke away.
Loid could not look elsewhere, his eyes always sought Yor's. Almost as if he is drawn in by those crimson orbs. Exchanging another gaze, Yor smiled and turned away.
Now Loid realized the reason he couldn't sleep.
For every restless contemplation, Yor is his muse. To be loved by her is too good to be true.

Mission Debrief: Chapter Forty-nine
...It smells like a goddamn come-back!
Okay, jokes about my inevitable return aside, can we all agree that Steve Jobs look-alike is creepy as sin? The discord sever has passed their judgement; the dude’s definitely a freak- kudos to Endo for making the first character I outright despise, I guess? Anyway, after missing out on the last chapter I’m ready to go full steam ahead on this week’s update!
It was a short chapter thankfully and definitely back-loaded, but there’s still plenty to talk about as always. I’m making triple sure to save my draft as I go this time and I’ve got alcohol at the ready, so let’s fricken do this!
I’m not going to talk much about the assassins; they are all bad men and they are all up to bad things, and that’s...pretty much all we got lol. Evil Franky is probably the most interesting of the bunch to me, but even he didn’t do much this chapter. They were glossed over mostly, so instead I wanna focus on my favorite panels.
Poor Loid, honestly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m reveling in all his misery- it’s just that at this point in the story even I have to relent and say I feel bad how stuck in the middle of everything he is. Anya’s manipulating him (hilariously) and he just can’t catch a break, and on top of all that he still has to play dad like the good little spy he is. That face of his will forever be a mood, and I resonate wholly with his done-ness (also just pointing out that Anya is adorable as ever- SHE’S SO LITTLE!)
Okay, Zeb and Olka...I’ll captain this dam ship myself if I have to. Honestly, this whole development we got out of them came out of nowhere, but I’m not complaining at all. I could see how someone might ship them in earlier chapters, courtesy of the old tried and true method of “boy + girl + being in general close proximity = love” that we see all the time, but Zeb coming out and being (mostly) outright with his feelings took my completely by surprise. I wasn’t expecting anything between these two, aside from perhaps a friendship born from being forced to escape with one another. I would have been fine with that, but this takes it to a much more interesting level-
-especially when framed within the context of the war, and it’s after-math. On top of the cute moment we got with Zeb and Olka, we got to learn a bit more about how the world was after the fighting stopped. @tare-chan and I discussed a bit about how criminal organizations such as the mafia have historically offered help in times of hardship, and it’s interesting that this is the route Endo took with things (Shopkeeper’s comments about Olka’s family being an honorable criminal organization certainly make more sense now, at least). We also have confirmation that it’s been roughly a decade since the war ended, something that’s touched on a bit more as McMahon returns to rendezvous with the others.
He’s such an enigmatic character. I want to know more about his past and his relationship with Garden. It’s also very interesting how he frames himself and Yor; they’re soldiers, just like Yuri. Whether it’s for the government or shadow government, they fight and die for the sake of Ostania. He truly believes in his cause, and he wholly expects the same out of Yor.
McMahon is cold and calculated. Yor, meanwhile, is soft and earnest. She is wholly outside her wheelhouse; nothing about this mission is like anything she’s ever done before. Personally, as an outsider looking in, I think she’s doing a fantastic job so far. Not only has she kept multiple assassins at bay while protecting three people, she hasn’t drawn any attention to herself in the process. She’s damn good at what she does, but for McMahon that’s not good enough- or rather, it’s not good enough for the mission. She needs to be perfect. She needs to be cold, calculated, and lethal, just like McMahon. She needs to be ready to die to protect Olka and the baby. She needs to be Thorn Princess...and Yor Forger is in the way of that. McMahon sees that, and he warns her; throw everything away, or it’ll all be taken away. Permanently.
Yor’s not dumb. She’s very self-aware, enough so to re-evaluate herself and her performance as of late. She knows that she’s lost her edge, and it’s all because she’s afraid now. Afraid of getting hurt. Afraid of getting found out. Afraid of losing her family. She’s not an emotionless robot anymore, not like the empty-eyed woman we saw her to be in the initial few chapters. Yor has things she wants to protect, things to fight for. In many situations and stories, one would assume that to be a boon- but here it’s not. Her job involves kill or be killed, and worldly ties will only hold you back. It’s a frame of thought that’s kept her among the living all this time...
...but as I said, Yor’s not dumb. She’s thinking, enough to where she’s starting to question why she’s even risking everything in the first place. What’s in it for her? How does her risking her life day in and day out benefit her? She already has everything she could want; people who care for her, and people who she cares for in return. In that sense, being an assassin is- in actuality- a distraction from what she truly desires...but at the same time, she’s too far in. At least at the moment. No amount of fondness she has for her family will get her out of the situation she’s in right now. So then, what to do?
I’ll go ahead and predict that Olka, being wide-awake as she is, will likely give her another pep-talk. She’s no stranger to difficult choices. Likewise, matters of friends and family, and choosing between them an duty, will likely be subjects she knows a thing or two about. At least I hope, anyway. I want more interaction between them, and I also want Yor to come to a deeper understanding of her current state. Deep down she knows what she wants, but she’s forcing herself to comply with everyone else’s whim. Hopefully sometime soon it’ll coming a point where she stops thinking about what others want out of her, and instead focus on what’s best for her- and by extension, the people she cares about.
Here’s hoping we get at least a peak of that next chapter.
In the meantime, though- BONUS!
I’d like to hang this on my wall and title it, “My constant state of mind”
