it’s just. Wei Wuxian being so arrogant and self-delusional is part of his charm but that leading to ruin in his first life but a happy ending in his second is neither character development (he doesn’t change) nor does it make sense (the world is also evidently unchanged as seen with how they treat Jin Guangyao and the clan). if, however, the entire point is that Jiang Cheng was unable to protect him whilst Lan Wangji can and will... then that’s even more foolish lol.

yea so basically .

i just think a lot about the way zapp acted when he first got to hl and i've realized how much raju affected his psyche outside of the jokey flashbacks from raju's first appearance . like the way i see it zapp has had it beat into his skull that his own survival takes priority over all else and all of the brutal training has essentially put zapp into a paranoid kind of state where he's constantly looking for danger and keeping his walls up . that combined with how perceptive he is is how he ends up realizing there's something more to the fog . his behavior is just so drastically different between that chapter and the present to the point that i think he really only got to grow into his own person under the influence of klaus and steven . he only learned to connect with people and let his guard down enough to make friends after realizing that around other people , he didn’t have to constantly be on the watch for danger , and i think that that realization took a while . more than i'd like to admit i just picture him in the office with klaus and steven during those first few days in libra , tense and restless because it's so foreign to him to be somewhere safe and trustworthy . and after he finally accepts that he's safe , he thinks it couldn't possibly last , so he has to savor every second . and then , slowly , eventually , he figures out that this is his home now , and these are his people , and as long as he doesn't forget the nature of the city he's in , he can relax because he knows he's going to survive . and then unfortunately he decides to be a dick about it . and here we are

Auntpretty1 is continuing to struggle and Murble is with her at the hospital rn. I don’t know much yet.

I am foggy and sleepy and can barely hear but other than that, fine. I need to feel well enough tomorrow to tackle some paperwork. So I’m just gonna eat parm crisps to fuel that magic or whatevery.

We’ve had a problem with these two outdoor cats killing our birds lately and no matter how many times we go out to chase them away, they keep coming back.  This evening, they killed a female cardinal and I am furious.  I tried driving around to see if I could spot the cats heading towards a specific home, but I don’t know if they even BELONG to anyone (if they do, boy is that owner getting an earful).
