Ahem. Fanart for another's fic!

It's... Been awhile.

Since the start of my program, and my reluctance to continue my current projects for risk of high distraction, I've been using small projects to get me by.

This one belongs to @twinanimatronics and @dana-chan-the-control-brain for their fic, "Lofi Beats to Capture Children". It's a haunting tale on a very plausible in-game origin story for Sun and Moon. I love it and it's vibes, even if my heart aches with pretty much every chapter! Anyway, this is from Chapter 19!

I may have had it half done within the week of it coming out and only finished it today. Whoops. Anyway, Ceph and Dana, I hope you like it!

“Good Evening, Moon.” 

The Nighttime animatronic slowly rose their head, staring blankly at the one-way mirror. Their red and black eyes reflected back at them. Two pinpricks in the darkness of the testing room. Their infrared vision sensed one human up there today. Just one. 

Moon gave a bit of a scoff.

“Where?....”

There was a bit of pause, before the testing human responded.

“You’re looking right at me, Moon. Are your visual sensors or infrared damaged?”

Moon shook their head and pointed right at the human’s location through the mirror. Right where their reflection rested.

“....Other one. Not here.” 

There was a bit of a pause, as the testing human was piecing together what Moon was asking, then gave a low chuckle. 

“Ah…… you’re sharp, aren’t you?”

Moon has a dream, or... a memory... that has him rethink a few things about how he was built.

Is he supposed to feel regret for something that he is supposed to do?

....His Daycare Attendant Protocols are Mixing up with his Security Protocols again.

A bad combination.

He seeks out some help and advice to friends, but it's a little hard to admit that you killed someone you were supposed to, and feel bad about it. He can't talk to Vanessa for sure.

Sunny's about to have a brakedown on his second day at the daycare

The red mess cascaded through his fingers. The sickening sound of screams echoed back at him. Intermingling together in a soft droning noise that spread throughout the ventilation. There was no way to escape it. Streaks of black hair and goop began flowing through his joints. Tendrils weaving into every orifice. From his eyes, his arms, his legs. The black hair-like substance was leaking out, suffocating him, becoming something else entirely. The slender animatronic stuttered for a moment. Movement became difficult. Lost in the sea of black goopy threads.

 Unable to move. 

To think. 

To feel.

Sun wakes up in a strange place, Vanessa finds them, and forces them to do something they have never tried before. This might break the barrier and cause Sun and Moon to FINALLY communicate.

Putting aside how painful it is seeing the boys suffer like that thanks for that lol, got a question about the Lofi chapter.

So in Twin Animatronics one of the elements that seemed to sway Bob's attitude was Sun calling Ted "Dad". But here Sun says it multiple times and there's no reaction.

Is Bob too drunk/grief angry to notice? Or is there something different about the way Sun says it in Twins that softens Bob up a bit?

YES!!!

I was honestly hoping that someone would ask this question.

But Bob does have a visceral reaction to Sun calling Ted "Dad" here.

But Sun's visual processes are bunked, so he can't see the micro expressions that Bob twitches into.

In fact, the whole reason why Bob doesn't turn the pain receptors off, (despite Sun's screaming likely being a hassle and headache for him) is 100 percent because of what Sun said.

Bob said a lot of things to Sun that neither Sun could hear over the pain and screams, and things Bob himself forgets.

Bob can't prove anything. But he knows what the Daycare Attendant did to his coworker. A horrible gut feeling. Bob knows the Daycare Attendant's capabilities more then anyone. He's the one who built the blueprints Ted provided him with and was there the entire testing process.

From Bob's perspective, this killer machine, who you know but can't prove, slaughtered your best friend. And you just have to go to work and pretend the man never existed. Told by the Security Guard and your Boss that he got in a car accident and died.

You know it was no accident.

You know what your friend was building him for.

You couldn't stop him then.

And now, by Fazbear standards, he never existed.

And this thing.

This monster he created.

Has the audacity to call it's victim their father???

What a joke.

If you can't scrap it, can't get it to admit what it did.... You will hurt it. Just hurt it as much as possible. Hurt it like Ted felt hurt.

Maybe you'll feel some sense of justice.

And yes, Bob does remember the anger and emotions he felt that day, as well as the physical pain the machine put him through......

But the catalyst for him to feel that strongly, he forgot. He forgot the words said and the words he said.

Just that Sun babbled some nonsense and pissed him off, so he tortured the bot and he got a lot of scars in the process.

I wanted to wait to reveal this in twins or Dadler lives, but because we see things from Sun and Moon's perspective, we aren't privy to a lot of this information.

But we at least know why Sun was so frantic and worried about not calling Ted "Dad" again in front of him.

Agatha doesn’t text him until quarter-to midnight. “Home safe,”  she says. And then, “Sorry.”  And, “We went out for supper.” Simon slouches in his chair, wedging a knee into the space between his stomach and his desk, the edge digging into his shin. It’s sharp and tight and not at all comfortable. He texts back, “it’s ok,”  and, “where at?” “That Italian place downtown.” “ew,”  he says, and she reacts to it with a thumbs-up. “Did I wake you?”  she asks. “no,”  he says. Then, “DQ tmrw?” Agatha reads his message, but doesn’t respond right away. The three dots pulse on her side of the screen for three strange, awkwardly long minutes before she finally replies with, “Maybe,”  followed quickly by, “Ask again in the morning, I can’t think about ice cream when I’m tired.” “are you going to bed?” “Yeah, sorry.” “it’s ok,”  he says, “it’s late. night aggie” “Night.” “ily,”  he says. She reacts to that with a thumbs-up, too. Simon locks his phone and drops it on his chest.

From one to five stars, how would you rate your writing? (No downplaying yourself!)

3.5 bc I read an old fic the other day and I’ve improved soooooo much but there’s always room for improvement!

2. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works? I feel like I’m really good at requests.

Sometimes I think it’s hard to imagine what someone is asking for, but as a daydreamer I feel like I can visualize it so well. 

3. Are there any writers that inspire you?

Famous authors include Toni Morrison, Stephen King (minus the cocaine💀), and Neil Gaiman. In the server, literally everyone inspires me all the time and is so so supportive. Some mutuals that I so aspire to write like are @moonlightprose, @fushic0re, @darkficsyouneveraskfor, @fluffyprettykitty

4. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?

I would have to say first time (a carmen berzatto x reader) or broken hearts (eddie munson x reader). I think I really capture Carmen and Eddie’s characterization, especially how they would act in a relationship. Also, for sure my best angst. 

5. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write and which do you find most difficult to write?

I’m a hyperfixation girly so the easiest are ones that I’m currently obsessed with (joel, miguel o’hara, etc.) and the most difficult are the ones that I still love but have fallen off the obsession wagon (Steve Rogers, geralt, din djarin, etc.) 

6. Who or what do you find yourself writing about most?

Smut bc I’m a hoe ✨ also it’s been a year and joel miller wont leave my mind, so 

7. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about!

This has literally been on my WIP for over a year, but it has to be a notting hill AU with Sam wilson. I’ve been excited to write that for ages. 

8. First fandom you ever wrote for?

Marvel. I wrote a spider girl fic when I was in middle school lmao

9. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)? jealousy fics and protective fics,,, yum 

10. A trope you’ll never, ever write for.

Prolly the divorce trope bc I get so mad at characters. 

11. Wildest fic you’ve ever written?

It was a request but eddie munson x reader with a guitar head in the coochie and it was great.

12. Favorite pairing to write for? (platonic or romantic!)

I love poly fics! Love Stucky x reader and steddie x reader are my fav. they’re just so good. 

13. Do you listen to anything while you write?

I usually have to listen to classical or lofi beats bc I’ll get distracted soooo easily.

One shots 

15. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them!

As a certified day dreamer, absolutely. Any longer fic I’ve written, I literally day dream how it’s gonna play out. I did that a lot with ain’t no sunshine (joel miller x reader). 

16. Is there anything you’ve wanted to write, but you’ve been too scared to try?

I am so bad at angst and I would love to write action/violent fics but I always feel like I can’t describe it for the life of me. 

17. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?

Someone commented that they turned my notifications on so that they could see when I posted the fic and that made me giggle and kick my feet. 

18. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?

It’s currently a work in progress, but it’s a period smut fic. It’s not necessarily out of my comfort zone but more of I’ve never written a fic like that before. It’s for Miguel. I’m so ready 👀

19. Tooth-rotting fluff or merciless angst?

21. If you could enter the universe of any one of your fics, which would it be and why?

I would die in literally every sci-fi or fantasy world that I love (star wars, game of thrones, lord of the rings, the last of us, attack on titan, etc.) so I’m gonna have to pick marvel. I’d have a fighting chance. 

22. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?

tbh the hardest part for me is starting. Introductions tear me down every time rip. Sometimes, I just start in the middle because it’s so much easier. 

23. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.

You pause, just for a moment. You could feel the adrenaline kick into your system, and a numbing pain flushed out your senses. The blood felt warm and sticky—prompting the sleepiness to feel calming, and it urged you forward into its safe surroundings. But then you felt it. Panic. Panic rose in your neck as you looked around for someone. Your hand darted out to try and find them, but your mind was starting to become blank from the fuzzy warmth of pain. Joel. You needed Joel. 

24. Ramble about any fic-related thing you want!

Ok listen, I wanna write so bad. The last fic I wrote was in March and I’m feeling that writing withdraw. My brain needs to get into hyperdrive so my fingers can type all day long. I have so many fics planned

Inspired by a tag game that @whimsicalcotton did on their page, I'm gonna write down the first 10 songs that come up when I shuffle my "current music rotation" playlist! And ramble about them bc I will never miss an opportunity to ramble.

Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart: This one was a bit of a sleeper for me but the melodrama of this song clicked for me late last year. The themes of imagining a whirlwind romance only to be brought back down to reality and the despair of loneliness recall songs like Taylor Swift's gold rush, Wicked's I'm Not That Girl, and Heart's Alone, which were big hits for me. Plus, it just sounds big and anthemic, and that stuff always clicks well with me!

MIKE - 222: Chill hip hop song with good vibes. Very typical fare from the rapper; not quite my favourite off that album but enjoyable nonetheless! More people should listen to MIKE's music IMO.

Kodaline - The One: A song I first got very into nearly 10 years ago to the day. It's become my go-to song to represent walking around on sunny days in the city or in the winter... or both. It's also a cute love song in general!

Some Are Lonely - This Is What Remains: God it's been like 3 months since I read that one Amberpricefield fic with the depressing ending, and this song is STILL rocking around. The lyrics are pretty malleable in feel to me; they can sometimes feel like reassurance that things will eventually be right even if they suck, just as much as they can be a depressing reminder that things suck and this is the hand you're dealt with and you gotta make due with it. I guess that's what makes it such an enduring hit song on my rotation, especially since I've been going through a fairly tumultuous time in my life.

Flying Lotus ft. Kendrick Lamar - Never Catch Me: A more niche Kendrick track, but it slaps all the same. I should listen to more songs from Flying Lotus tbh.

MujjO - A Song For Trees: This is one of the lo-fi tracks that can be heard in Spirit City Lofi Sessions. It's one of the tracks I really vibe with in the newest? playlist they added! That being said, I don't really seek it out much on my own. btw check out Spirit City Lofi Sessions if you enjoy lo-fi vibes and need something to motivate you to get things done!

Grape_Soda - Lullaby Of A Phoenix: Someone actually made the song that Sayori sings to Monika in the penultimate chapter of For The Longest Time and it's so cute... The singer does a good job capturing what her singing voice might sound like, and it captures the intimate, soothing and reassuring vibe the song is going for perfectly. It's back on my rotation bc I've been re-reading FTLT, along with another song that spawned from it. Good song to think about the blorbos to! Wish it was on Spotify like that other song, but that's alright.

Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence: This song is a massive throwback to my first time going downtown for work in the subways some 10 years ago. The way this chorus sounds recalls the sight of tunnel lights zooming past so nicely. Plus it's a bop idk!

Living In A Box - Living In A Box: It's a bop & I like singing "Imma livin in a box" to the chorus, even if the actual line is *Am I* living in a box. Words are fake anyway so who cares /j

Kendrick Lamar ft. SZA - luther: It's not really my fave on GNX (of the big 3 singles, I've warmed up to squabble up way more, and tv off may be getting there soon as well), but it's sweet enough! The sample is good, SZA is good, it's a good song. On the note of SZA, I really hope she clicks with me someday bc I feel like she never fully hits higher than a 7.5/10 on most of her own songs. She's a solid vocalist and I see why she's been a darling in the music circles I'm in, but her actual music hasn't clicked for me yet outside of Good Days. I need to give her an actual chance sometime... She's overdue to break through into my music taste.

This was a lot of fun actually! I might do that again sometime.

Forced to work on the same machine, that killed your best bud, who you may had feelings for, but you never had the chance to explore because this machine killed him. And have to REPAIR it...to be better, meanwhile his friends lies in a grave, caused by it...fuck...

…It does. It hurts. I'm scared… I'm scared too….

It was a phenomenal chapter. And I would have read it, even if it takes me 100 years. Love your writing ♡ the agony😭 the feelings were so real... from both perspective...

And I drawn Bob before... now I know why he has those scars...fuck...the more I know....😭😭😭 was worried they caused him brain damage... fuck... I was worried for Bob and the dca too...

I wanna draw them... it gets on my to draw list. I have so many scenes saved to draw from this fic... if it is one year, or 10 from now on. I will draw them once. This fic is too good.

Yes! Vanessa does care, in her own way. She has a thick skin. And the Daycare Attendant... while, not under it... seems close to pulling back her "customer service" mood.

Yup. The only reason that Bob is alive is because he was passed out hungover and was a no-show to work. Bob, surprisingly is in his own depressive funk to even notice a lot of his coworkers are missing. He has his own stuff going on. (but he might find out later)

Bob is a complex character. He's at his worst here. He does have character development in Twin Animatronics, and he comes to realize what he did was wrong... but you can see why Sun and Moon are so hostile to him in Twins and scared of Parts and Service.

Also, I'm so glad you liked the chapter and gave me a lengthy response like this. They give me life and love and encourage me to keep going <3

For me it’s not necessarily fic background music per se, but each song captures some part of the vibe, either character, or their relationship :3

but also maybe I’m weird cause when I read or write I prefer silence or maybe animal crossing background music or video game lofi. Otherwise I get too distracted by the music/lyrics 😭

Plus my day to day life is so loud with two children so I treasure quiet moments where no one is asking me for anything and Blippi, Ms Rachel etc isn’t playing

I SAW THIS AT WORK BUT DIDN"T RESPOND CUS I WAS HAVING A ROUGH DAY!

I LOVE THIS!

You illustrate the dream sequence perfectly, the collapse of exhaustion as their faceplate is on fire....(it almost gives the vibe of religious imagery but I can't place it... I think it's the symmetry of it all) Sun nearly ripping out his rays.... Vanessa being a bully to an animatronic if not for the laws of this land (and his civil nature) could smack her... And the monologue of Sun contemplating just straight up crushing the skull of a bully who is like... nine years old.

I especially love that you take the "biblically accurate" portrayals in my fic to heart. You can see their static faces but still FEEL their emotion, and I think that's the underlying tragedy of Lofi... In how much these two are actually suffering, with being unable to emote aside from "service with a smile" Only they know eachother's suffering, and they hate eachother, so they just try to make the other suffer louder then they themselves can.

I absolutely love these illustrations, and I'm glad what I write just paints a clear vivid picture in your head like this <3 <3 <3

Finally caught back up on @dana-chan-the-control-brain's AO3 fic Lofi Beats To Capture Children To, and chapter 17 had me doodling to try illustrate what a rough time Sun's facing just that day. Dude barely been alive for a few days and already wishing he could retire to a quiet beach house.
