HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY L&CO TV SHOW!!!!! sure it might have been cut short, sure it might not have been for everyone, sure it was a looooong wait. but yk what? without all that, I wouldnt have the season I do now and the experiences that came with it. I wouldnt have met the AMAZING people I know today. I will be forever grateful for the show because I met yall. one year ago today I sat down in my room, tea and biscuits in hand, ready to watch all id been waiting for. but little did I know the best part wasn't even here.

Lockwood & Co Love Languages

George: likes giving acts of service and receiving quality time(?)

it's no secret that he loves giving acts of service, whether that be cooking or cleaning for them. I chose quality time because he loves having conversations with Lockwood and Lucy and spending time with them (he does not like being left out). I remember in one of their cases in the books, they were drinking tea and George said it would be nice to do that (hang out) sometime without having to worry about the Problem.

Lucy: likes giving quality time and receiving acts of service/words of affirmation

Lucy is such a loving and caring person, so it was hard to choose what she likes to give because honestly, she does everything. She does love spending time and sharing experiences with Lockwood and George. In terms of receiving, she loves it whenever Lockwood does things like saving her and buttering her toast. She also loves it whenever Lockwood compliments and praises her.

Lockwood: likes giving gifts and acts of service; likes receiving physical touch

Because he has a hard time admitting it, we see his love for Lucy through the big gestures like the necklaces he gives her. He also enjoys saving and doing things for her. After losing his whole family, I'm sure Lockwood's been touch-starved so I'm not surprised he loves being able to hold Lucy's hand all the time.

One year ago today I saw a @lilaccatholic decided to reblog a gifset of a cute ghost hunting show. I watched it, became insane about it, read the books, wrote ~130k of fic (and rediscovered my love of writing in the process) and went on to meet some of the BEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD because of it. So in conclusion, you never know when reblogging a random gifset might drastically change someone’s life lol. Thanks Lilac ily

it's officially been a whole year of having lockwood and co on our screens!!! HOW CRAZY IS THAT???

anywho. soppy post alert below. now, i haven't been that caught up and fully invested in a show, or even a fandom for that matter, in a VERY long time. it's hard to put into words how much all of this means to me, but we'll give it a shot.

lockwood and co, to put it simply, is one of the best things that has happened to me in a very long time. to not only be invested in a fabulously captivating show, but to feel seen and understood by the characters too!! these guys literally mean so much to me because i literally see myself in them 10 fold - they are so kind, funny, unapologetically themselves, selfless, proud, stubborn, and overall just kids trying to get by. they are so relatable but so unique all at once.

as well as the show and books being so goddamn wonderful and marvelous, i just wanna say something for this fandom too. i've never known a fandom be so resilient even AFTER the show got cancelled to still thrive, have an online and now an in-person event for the fans to talk to people like jonathan and gina (who we quite literally wouldn't be here without them), joe cornish, and ali, ruby, and cameron!

you guys have literally changed my world in so many ways, and i can gladly say that i have grown so much, in myself and in happiness, because of the wonderful friendships i've made here. @impossibleclair was the first person i became friends with here (!!! love you clair), shortly followed by the likes of @losticaruss and @wellgoslowly - who i love with my entire heart. you guys have shown me so much love and support, i adore you

i hope that eventually one day this year i might even be lucky enough to meet some of the lovely friends i've made here too!! (looking at you, month of july)

long rant post incoming about the lco anniversary meet up

before i start ranting/venting i want to make clear that i’m not trying to hate on anyone absolutely not it’s just a long post about my feels you can ignore it

so after having had mixed feelings since last night i realised that one thing that made me emotional about the meet up was actually that i’m hurt that i didn’t know about it? and it felt awfully familiar to having friends making plans behind your back kinda

don’t get me wrong i’m really honestly and completely happy for everyone who got to go it sounds like a lovely night and i’m so happy at the news we got from everyone who was there

it’s just that when i first joined the fandom it felt like this very closely knit community no matter what platform you were using you always had people on several socials making sort of a bridge and keeping everyone updated but apparently it’s not the case anymore and it looks like the tumblr community is now very far from the rest? and it’s making me sad

cause i personally don’t want to go on twitter that looks like a mess and even though i’m on the discord servers i just don’t have time to scroll through hundreds of messages a day to keep up with the hundreds of channels on all the servers it’s just too overwhelming

so yeah i’m just sad i guess cause the found family feels like it’s splitting up and i don’t like change so i’m sad about it lol

this being said i feel the need to highlight the fact that i’m aware that no one in this fandom owes me anything and i’m really not being a hater i just have too many feelings that i can’t handle

if you feel anything like it i’m just here to rant and tell you that you’re not alone

and if you disagree that’s fair too cause honestly i’m overreacting i just needed to vent
