sandy jareau: one daughter who never saw 17 and the other…
jj: the other what, mom? the other what?
this scene haunts me because maybe if rosaline didn’t die, maybe if jj hadn’t become her parents’ only hope, maybe if she suddenly didn’t have the responsability to be the good daughter, she would have let herself have the feelings she had towards women. she wouldn’t have had to lock herself in a conventional home life to show that her family could still be normal. she was forced to grow up so quickly and to take on a role, to conform to a conventional ideal before she was able to explore who she really was.
and jj’s story is filled with bits and pieces of her experience with comphet since practically the beginning of the show, and partly i’m thankful for that bc that type of experience is relevant and important to portray, but mostly i’m mad because they never came clean about what it was about, always pretending these lines of dialogue were about something else. yes they’re the showrunners and the writers, yes they decide what they write about, but look me in the eyes and tell me her conversation with hotch in 3x17 about how the unsub seeked a freedom in his gay victims he wished he had was about anything other than her own gayness (come on, it being about her secret relationship with a white cop? where’s the threat in it being exposed? be for real). tell me the question from will that should have followed “you wanna see another guy?” shouldn’t have been “you wanna see a woman?”.
jj is not straight, and it’s part of the show, it’s right there. but it should have been asserted, because her story is important and is the reality of many people.
#thank you for coming to my ted talk#i’m tired of this show being a coward when it comes to lgbt stories#i know it was the mid 2000s and it was inevitable#but it’s frustrating#jennifer jareau#bisexual jennifer jareau#lesbian jennifer jareau#criminal minds#thoughts

Damsel • Felix Catton x Reader
Summary - y/n wasn’t the type to settle down, until she met Felix that is. So when her parents meet him they’re in love her sister however is sceptical
Warnings - implied smut
“Mate I can’t get that girl out of my head.” Felix said taking a sip of his beer while he sat across from Farleigh waiting for the rest of there friends to appear
“Which one? The one you took home?” Farleigh asked lighting a cigarette before handing the box to Felix who sighed while taking a cig for himself and lighting it up
“No no the one friends with Indi.” Felix said taking a drag while Farleigh laughed
“Oh y/n, yeah she’s a sight for sore eyes if I do say so myself.” Farleigh began before laughing “shame she’s so self righteous. Indi says she’s the most opinionated person she knows.”
Almost like it was on cue the girl came walking in with indi and the rest of there friends following behind. Her eyes almost instantly locked with Felix’s and he swore he could have passed out in the spot while she’s claim the butterflies she felt were purely coincidental.
“Hi guys, you remember y/n from last night she’s finally decided to sack off the books not that she needs them the clever cloggs.” Indi said making her friend chuckle as she rolled her eye’s playfully
“Hi y/n.” Felix said with a warm smile while Farleigh took it upon himself to offer her his seat next to Felix “Y/n, you take a seat me and Indi will go get drinks.”
“It’s Felix’s right?” Y/n asked pretending as if she hadn’t memorised this name the second he told her that previous night
“Yeah it’s Felix, how are you? How’s the head?” He asked hinting as to how hard she was going yesterday evening. Y/n laughed as she got comfortable in her seat
“The head is fine however the smell of vodka might make me vomit so I beg of indi not to bring them over.” Y/n said Felix’s eyes had not left her he’d barely even acknowledged the rest of his friends as of yet.
“I’ve never seen someone drink that many vodka sodas.” Felix joked while y/n sarcastically gasped showing fake hurt
“What are you trying to say, Felix?” She joked while the same smile played on his lips
“Oh nothing at all, y/n.” Felix said and with a playful grin, offered her a sip of his beer. Y/n hesitated, Felix gently held the glass to her lips, titling it carefully as she took a mouthful. However, as the bitter taste registered, her expression shifted from curiosity to a grimace. Felix chuckled, realizing her distaste, and quickly pulled the glass away.
“Not a beer girl?” He hummed and she shook her head “hmmm I thought as much.” Y/n faked her offence once again before indi and Farleigh came waltzing back over
“Vodka soda, your favourite.” Indi said handing her the glass as y/n groaned while the two turned to the rest of the group
“Don’t worry darling, I’ll hold your hair back when you start vomming.” Felix joked his arm falling on the back of her chair casually, in reality his heart was racing at a million mile at the anticipation of her pushing it off.
“You’re on thin ice, Felix.” She joked
The rest of the night was spent laughing and joking with the group every now and then the pair breaking off for the own conversations
“No no it’s not romantic in the slightest.” She argued the group had somehow gotten on to the topic of Romeo and Juliet which y/n always had a very opposing idea to the majority. Felix had no care of the topic he just wanted to hear her talk
“How is it not?” Indi asked her friend
“It’s a mockery of young love They both had a severe lack of self identity because of there limits of freedom their family’s put on them Juliet views Romeo as her only freedom because she’s getting forced to marry Paris she sees herself choosing romeo as being free. That being said Juliet was never Romeos first choice he was just depressed that Rosaline didn’t love him back. Juliet was a rebound not a true love.” Y/n explained while Felix started at her In complete awe
“God you’re incredible.” He whispered to himself but she heard and he knew she did from the way her cheeks turned crimson. She quickly excused herself to the bathroom with indi following close behind
“What did I say? Incredibly opinionated.” Farleigh said to his cousin who simply shook his head
“She’s something else.” Felix whispered
Meanwhile In that bathroom, indi sat on the sink while y/n was in the bathroom stall “you know I’ve never seen him like this, or you like this even.” Indi said just before y/n came out of the stall
“What do you mean?” Y/n asked as she began to wash her hands
“Felix is never interested in what anyone has to say but he can’t seem to stop looking at you listening to every word you say and you you’ve never blushed at someone calling you incredible before especially a boy, what happened to my old I don’t need a man y/n?” Indi explained and y/n shrugged while she dried her hands
“You’re thinking too much into this indi, he’s just a sweet guy I’m still same old me.” She said as they left the bathroom.
“It’s getting pretty late we’re thinking off heading off.” One of the other girls said before everyone agreed that it was time to head home.
“Y/n, could I walk you home?” Felix asked she nodded grabbing her things while the rest of the group sorted themselves out they pair didn’t bother to say there goodbyes just leaving the pub and walking back towards campus.
They talked about nothing and everything all at once as they walked almost too close to one another neither one wanting to take things too far. When they got to her door she stood looking up at him after unlocking the door. If this was any other girl they’d of already invited him in but y/n wasn’t like that
“So when can I see you again?” Felix asked and y/n smiled looking at her feet before looking back up at him
“Whenever you’d like.” She said in almost a whisper
“I don’t know if indi has invited you but we’re heading out for drinks tomorrow you should join us.” He suggested and she nodded the pair were dangerously close to one another both still too nervous to make a move.
“I’d love to.”
“I’ll pick you up at 7?” Felix more told than asked and she just nodded before leaning up on her toes
“Goodnight Felix.” She whispered planting a soft kiss on his cheek before disappearing Inside her room.
From that day on the pair were inseparable it didn’t take long for Felix to start calling her his girlfriend much to everyone’s surprise. Wherever she was, he was and vice versa. The pair were joint at the hip.
“There’s my girl.” He said holding his arms open as y/n and Farleigh walked into the library books in hand. Y/n rushed over to him planting a kiss on his lips as he pulled her onto his lap.
“Hi Fi.” She said kissing him once more mumbling how she missed him.
“Hey baby girl.” Her stomach flipped at the nickname, something about that way it rolled off his tounge made her feel like she was the only person in the world that mattered to him. If you asked him, she was.
“So I was thinking…” y/n began her fingers dancing up his arm as he pulled her close
“What we’re you thinking pretty?” He asked his hand dangerously high on her thigh
“All of class I just couldn’t stop thinking about you, your hands, your mouth…” she continued and it didn’t take much more for him to be helping her off his lap
“We’re gonna go.” Was all he said patting y/n’s arse as he grabbed her hand dragging her to her dorm room as quickly as he could.
Flexi had practically moved into her dorm room at this point and tonight was like no other the pair laying in her bed facing each other while his hand rested on her cheek.
“I don’t know I guess everything that happened with Daniel made it hard for me to trust people until you came along.” She said as he listened to every word she said just as he always did
“What happened with Daniel?” Felix asked there has never been anything off limits in there relationship but she’d never spoken about her ex until now.
“He made me do things I didn’t want to do and wasn’t ready for even if I said I didn’t want to. He told me that if I loved him I’d do whatever he asked of me.” She told him and Felix didn’t need to be told what she meant he knew from the look in her eyes
“I’m so sorry that happened to you baby girl.” He said leaning in and kissing her softly she smiled into the kiss, oh how she adored that pet name.
“It’s okay, I have you now.”
“That’s right baby, and I’ll never let anyone hurt you again.” He said as she kissed him again mumbling against his lips
“You’re the sweetest.”
“I’m serious baby, if anyone hurts you, I’ll be going to prison for life.” He said in the most serious tone he could and she knew he meant it. Y/n couldn’t help but smile at his words laughing slightly before adding
“I’ll send you love letters while you’re in there.” Felix connected there lips once again moving to hovering above her one hand holding him up the other toying with her waistband
“Yeah? With Polaroids of you looking all pretty for me?” He asked and she nodded her breathe catching in her throat has his hand slipped under her shorts
“I’ll even where that dress you like so much.”
“God you’re just perfect.”
Y/n groaned half asleep at the knocking on her door “Indi go away.” She mumbled but when the door still swung open revealing her parents and sister she knew she was done for
“Hi darling -Oh!” Her mum said noticing Felix beside her daughter y/n shook Felix awake pulling the duvet over them
“What baby.” He mumbled and she just continued to shake him
“What are you guys doing here?” She asked panicking slightly
“We just thought we’d come for the day and take you to lunch we know how busy your schedule is.” Her sister said not even caring that there was a boy wrapped around her. By now Felix had sat up but was at a lots for words
“Mum, dad, Amelia… this is Felix my boyfriend.” Y/n said nervously
“It’s ah… nice to meet you.” Felix said the air was thick
“We’ll we’re thinking of going for lunch in an hour or so why don’t the two of you get ready and meet us at that little cafe, you know the one we went to last time at 2?” Her mum said trying to bypass the awkwardness of walking in on her daughter in bed with a man she’d never seen before
“Yeah sounds good we’ll see you there.” Y/n said practically shooing them out while her sister lingered back for a few seconds
“It reeks of sex in here.” Amelia added before following her parents out
“God that is not how I thought this morning was going to go!” Felix joked as she groaned burying her face in his chest
“That was so embarrassing.” Y/n mumbled while Felix just laughed dragging her up along with himself in order for them to get ready.
“Are you sure I look okay?” She asked as they stood outside the cafe Felix nodded leaning down to kiss her gently
“You look beautiful baby girl, love it when you wear my clothes.” He said referring to his yellow button up she’d thrown over her dress it practically was the same length as the dress but he still loved it regardless.
“We should head in.” She said grabbing his hand as she opened the door and they headed in. When they got to her table Felix pulled her chair out for her which had her mothers heart swelling with joy
“Hi lovely and this must be the wonderful Felix.” Laurel, her mum said with that warm smile all mothers seem to have.
“It’s nice to meet you, properly.” Felix joked referring to earlier that morning, Felixs took y/n’s hand that rested in the table giving it a small squeeze to help ease her nerves.
“Y/n told us she was seeing someone but I didn’t know it was serious.” Laurel added taking a sip of her coffee that has just arrived. Y/n admired the way nothing had changed her mum would always be the same woman who could barely sit down in a restaurant without having a coffee minutes later
“It kinda just happened mum.” Y/n said her eyes flickering from Felix to her parents
“Well Im glad we get to meet the boy that’s changed our darling girl stance on love.” Her dad, David, said trying to keep his cold front on but he was the biggest softy at heart
“Oh if anything she’s changed mine, she’s really special your daughter.” Felix said looking over at y/n was was looking up at him with nothing but love in her eyes.
“Are you all ready to order?” The waitress asked as she came over to the table
“Yes thank you I’ll have the chicken ceases salad and a Latte please.” Y/n said before everyone else made their orders before her parents started with the usually questions about her academics along with questioning Felix about his.
“Oh Christ.” Y/n mumbled a few minutes later while her parents and sister discussed if it was a red or orange dress there cousin wore to someone’s wedding
“What’s wrong Darling?” Felix asked concerned looking over at her as she chewed on the inside of her cheek
“I forgot to ask for no tomatos.” She said and Felix couldn’t help but smile as she pouted slightly
“Oh! Don’t worry I’ve got you.” Felix flags down the waitress that took down there order previously
“I don’t want to be a pain.” She whispered
“I’m sure they won’t mind.” Felix squeezed her hand softly as the waitress approached the table, Felix gave the girl a warm smile; “I’m awfully sorry but my girlfriend here was being her usual thinking of a million and one things at a time and forgot to ask is there any chance we could get no dressing on that salad.”
“It’s really no problem if not, it’s my fault honestly.” Y/n interjected not wanting to be a pain
“That’s not a problem at all I’ll go tell the kitchen now.” The waitress said with a smile before rushing off towards the kitchen
“See pretty, told you they wouldn’t mind.” Felix said pressing a kiss to y/n’s temple as she smiled
“What would I do without you hey?” She half joked leaning her head on his shoulder for a few seconds
“Perish, I believe.” Everyone but her sister laughed at his joke while Amelia shoot y/n a strange look, one that she couldn’t quit read. Felix pressed a kiss to the back of her hand before politely excusing himself to the bathroom.
“Oh he’s just lovely, y/n.” Laurel said just as he was out of earshot
“I’m glad you like him.” Y/n smiled, she’d never been this nervous to introduce someone to her family but Felix was charming as ever she didn’t need to worry at all
“It’s nice to see someone treating my girl that way she deserves.” Her dad added
“I’m so happy for you, I know it’s been difficult after Daniel but oh Felix is just perfect for you.” Laurel said reaching over to sqeeze her daughters hand
“It really means a lot that you think that, I was really nervous for you to meet him especially after this morning.” Y/n admitted taking a sip of her water
“Oh don’t be silly, that’s nonsense we should have called first.”
“Do you like him melia?” Y/n asked looking at her sister who had been awfully quiet Amelia shrugged
“He seems alright.” Y/n frowned slightly disappointed her sister wasn’t more enthusiastic about her relationship
“Just alright?” Y/n asked and once again her sister shrugged
“I don’t know him so I can’t give an option.”
The rest of the lunch went swimmingly her parents telling Felix how much they adored him and how perfect he was for their daughter. Y/n getting all shy when Felix and her dad make a joke about him making sure to give them a call when he decides to ask for her hand in which he responded oh don’t worry I plan on it
Y/n had convinced her sister to stay with her and Felix for the evening insisting she gets a taste of Oxford for when she starts In Autumn. They had decided to get the group together and head to the local pub they always went to.
Y/n sensing the need for a breath of fresh air, leads her sister into the Pubs smoking area, a sanctuary of sorts in the midst of all the madness. The cold breeze nips at their faces as they find a secluded corner. Surrounded by the soft hum of distant traffic, Amelia breaks the silence.
“Y/n, do you really like Felix I mean come on this is nothing like you.” She asks watching as her sister takes a drag of her cigarette looking at Amelia confused
“What do you mean?” Y/n asked watching the way Amelia sighed as she sat on the wall letting y/n join her
“All of it you know, him calling you Darling, acting as if you’re codependent what happened to feminist iconic y/f/n.” Amelia asked and y/n let out a soft chuckle knowing exactly what Amelia was getting at
“First of all, i am a feminist obviously and you know as well as I do that I'm fine without a man but But don’t know I think I would his protection.” Y/n half joked but Amelia was dead serious about the topic
“But you’re not some damsel in distress though y/n.”
“That not the point though Amelia, I like that he wants to protect me I like that he wants to Wrap his arm around me, And tell me that he’ll keep me safe and before you say it I know I can protect myself But when he does it for me, it's hot as hell.” Y/n explained smiling as she thought about her boyfriend and how he’d just do anything for her without her even having to ask that of him.
“I just don’t want him to dim your light because yes he seems wonderful and I’m sure he’s lovely but you are everything. he is just a boy.” Amelia said. She had always admired her sister more than she cared to admit and it would kill her to see her lose the glimmer in her eyes over some boy.
“You know me better than I know myself that would never happen and he knows that.” Y/n put her cigarette out just as Felix came wondering outside his face lighting up when his eyes fell on the pair
“There you two are I’ve been searching all over.” He said as y/n stood up from her spot letting Felix wrap his arm around her waist and press a kiss to her temple as she melted into the embrace
“Hi darling.” She said looking up at him with nothing but adoration behind her eyes
“How’s my sweet girl, what we chatting about?” He asked looking too her sister and back to y/n
“I’m good and we were just talking about Amelia coming to Oxford next year.” Y/n shot her sister a wink as Amelia then stoop up
“Oh you’d love it here plus you’d fit right in everyone loves your sister they’re bound to love you.” Felix told Amelia who smiled looking at her sister
“It’s impossible not to love Her.”
“Oh don’t I know it, your sister here is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met she has this way of making you feel like you’re the most important person in the room without ever making herself smaller she’s incredible, darling you’re incredible.” He rambled gushing about his girlfriend who couldn’t help but blush
“You’re just the sweetest aren’t you.” She said leaning up to plant a kiss on his cheek
“I’ll give it to you y/n, he’s far better than all the others.” Amelia said making Felix smile
“I’m going to take that compliment.”

MY HEADCANON FOR PARENTS NAMES:
Snow White: Bianca White ( Bianca means "white" and Whites are probably one of the most obsessed families with their story, every single Snow White had a name with meaning relative to the fairy tails,)
Evil Queen: Eris Queen (I can't remember did I read a fic where she was called Eris but I think that the name of the goddess of discord really suits her)
Sleeping Beauty: Rosalin Beauty (pretty standard name)
Cinderella: Ophelia Ella ( a sweet name for a sweet girl)
Red Riding Hood: Scarlett Hood (one more standard name)
Big Bad Wolf: Aiden Wolf (close friends call him Andy :) )
Dark Fairy: Darcy Thorn ( oh the irony of being the dark fairy with dark name and yet cover yourself in light)
Candy Witch: Cinnamon Witch (I also didn't come up with this name myself. I saw someone use it for her a really long time ago but I can't remember who. If the person who came up with this name sees this, you deserve a reward, the name is perfect. But I hc that she goes by her nickname: Candy. Why? Because it's such a cute nickname)
Pinocchio: Oak Wood (I think that every family name has something to do with trees or wood. Oak sounds like a perfect name for someone sweet, young and cheerful and later as an adult calm and wise)
Goldilocks: Dolly Locks ( I just think that its a cute name and she kinda remind me of Dolly)
Huntsman: Archer Huntsman (Okay, so, Huntsmans are bad at naming their kids, like REALLY BAD. Hunter we are counting on you to break that cycle)
King Charming: Dashing Charming (I read one fanfic were he is named Dashing and i think that name suits him, i myself couldn't come up with the more fitting name)
Queen Charming: Grace Charming (I also read that one in a fanfic and i think it fits her, somehow whenever i think of Charmings Dashing and Grace are the first name that come to my mind)
Rapunzel: Cressida O'Hair (I first just like the name but then i found out the Cressida means "golden" so it goes well with Rapunzel story)
Pied Piper: Devin Piper ( It means "bard" or "poet", the perfect name for a musician. Also, Piper is really a cool name, too bad it is already his last name)
Mad Hatter: Maddox Hatter (I just like silly names for Wonderlandians, especially Mad Hatter)
Queen of Hearts: Victoria Hearts ( okeey, it's not a very Wonderlandian name but neither is Elizabeth and Vicy is a cute nikename)
Cheshire Cat: Lorelai Cheshire (I didn't want to go for the obvious one Chatrine, like, I get it, she's a cat, She literally named her daughter Kitty, or maybe Katrine Kitty for short, BUT THEN I REMEMBER THAT TOLERAI EXISTED which is literally the same name just different first latter and I already gotten attached to Lorelai, so, umm if you all could just do me the favour and pretend that these are TOTALLY different names I would be very thankful)
Alice Wonderland: Amilia Wonderland ( Also would her last name be Wonderland or Liddell? Bonus cute nickname Amy)
White Rabbit: Castor Blanc ( At first i just liked the name but don't you think that "dutiful" is a perfect for White Rabbit)
White Swan: Elenor Swan ( It means "shining light" and to be honest with that destiny she's going to need some light in her life)
Black Swan: Callisto VonBart (What would be the last name of The Black Swan? VonBart?BlackSwan? I put VonBart because I found an OC of Odille on Pinterest and her last name was VonBart. I don't know)
Frog Prince: Hanry Croakington ( i reafuse to belive that he named his son after himself. Nuh-uh. He named Hopper after his father or maybe his grandfather)
Robin Hood: Wren Hood ( Listen, Listen, maybe they just have a thing with the birds?)
Maid Marian: Pandora Charming ( I don't think that there is a destiny stricly for Maid Marian. I think thats just a princess from Charming family or from nobel family, that's why i gave her last name Chaming. Last name changed after the wedding)
Beauty: Primrose Beauty ( Ah, Beauties and their roses)
Beast: Damian Beast (like it)
Fairy Godmother: Beatrice Goodfairy ("blessed one" mmm... too bad you can't bless yourself)
Jack Beanstalk: Jasper Beanstalk (nice)
Snow Queen: Isolde Winter (perfect for ice queen)
Snow King: Nikolai Winter (took his wife's last name, couldn't think of his own that's not arleady taken)
BONUS: PRINCES CHARMING
The Good King: David Charming (i think that only the main Charming follow that logic with names where all siblings have names with the same first latter)
Cinderella's prince Charming: Louis Charming (he's a nice boy)
Snow White's prince Charming: Cassian Charming (I just like it)
Sleeping Beauty's prince Charing: Liam Charming (don't ask)
#DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO CHOOSE A NAME THAT GOES WITH YOUR CHARACTER#HAS A SIGNIFICANT MEANING#AND DOESN'T REMIND YOU OF AN EXISTING CHARACTER???#its very fucking hard#like i wanted to use nivea for snow white becouse it literally means white as snow BUT NIVEA IS A BREND#I also wanted to name pandora Penelope becouse its a cute name remaind me of the redhead#but who comes to your minde when you hear Penelope? 19 - Three Very Important Words
Part 20
The Last Velaryon
Tag list @rise-my-angel @cdragons @kmc1989 @starkleila
Spinning around on my feet throwing my hair over my shoulders I eyed my husband seeing his hands clenched at his sides. “Robb, please don’t be angry with me over speaking to Walder Frey without telling you I was going to in the first place.”
“Oh I have every right to be angry with you. We’re supposed to be a team, Haelesa.”
I parted my lips, releasing a breath. “We are still a team, Robb.”
“It didn’t appear that we were out there in front of Walder Frey and his household. It looked like we had completely different plans in mind and didn’t communicate that to one another.” He threw his hands away from his sides in frustration.
“I’ll take full responsibility for the miscommunication. With that said, may I tell you of my plan that I wanted to propose to him?”
Robb gestures with his right hand. “Continue, my lady.”
“Robb, those girls all deserve an escape from that man. I mean he's old and has had four different wives over how many years. I'm afraid if young wives of other houses stop sending their daughters to him, then he might start making babies with his own children.”
Robb pointed out. “Like the Targaryen's did to keep their bloodline supposedly pure.”
“Exactly. I - I want to help then escape from him in some way. I know that there can’t possibly be that many lords wanting to be married to the Freys but it would be a start and create the loyalty between your two houses once again.”
Robb ran a hand over the growing beard on his chin, thinking in deep thoughts. “There’s a few sons of my bannermen who are not wed off just yet. My uncle Edmure of House Tully has no wife either.”
“My brother has borne some bastards but since you’re a King now you can make them into official members of our house. Unless of course you aren’t truly open to this idea at all.”
The young wolf glanced at me, closing most of the distance between us taking my hands in his larger ones. “Whatever you want to do, we shall do to the best of our abilities. So he also has another daughter the age of nine and ten named Rosaline. We could wed her to my uncle.”
“That’s a good start. For the other girls I think we should help find husbands for Merry, Freya, Marianne and then I can take little Shirei under my wing. I was raised by someone who wasn’t my mother and I’m terrified to think of who will talk with her about her bleeding among other things.”
Robb kissed my forehead once cupping my face in his gloved hands. “Your heart is one of the things I love about you.”
“Did you just say you love me?” I drew my head back slightly with a curious look.
Robb smiled down at me longingly. “Yes, I did.”
“Say it again, Stark.”
He nuzzled his nose against mine with a cheeky grin spread across his face when he uttered the words a few more times. “I love you. Do you hear me, I love you. I will always love you, Haelesa.”
“I think I love you too, Robb.” I grinned at him feeling overjoyed at this moment. I knew if I told him now he wouldn’t let Jaime live another night so it was best to keep the secret from him and visit a Maester here before we left. If I don’t know who the father could be after that the Moon Tea was my only option left that I had in my back pocket. “Robb, there’s something you should know along with me loving you. I think I am pregnant with Jaime’s-“
Robb connected my lips with his wrapping one arm around my waist bringing me in as close as possible. Wrapping my arms around his neck I deepened the already heated kiss. He threaded his other hand into my silver locks of hair that cascaded down my back and we would have remained that way if it wasn’t for someone knocking on the closed door peeking their head inside revealing none other than his mother Catelyn. “Robb, Lord Frey is getting tired of waiting for your girl to finish whatever her plan is for his daughters and granddaughters. What would you wish me to tell him?”
“Tell him we’ll be out in a minute to tell him our offer. Thank you, mother.” He glanced over his shoulder responding to her.
She nodded, closing the door when shen left. “Of course.”
“On your lead, my king.” I extended my right hand to him waiting for him in return to which he looped his larger one with my small palm.
“On our lead, my queen. Now and always.”
Together we exited the chamber room making our way into the throne seeing all eyes shift to us regardless of Lord Frey being the one to speak first and break the uncomfortable silence that had surrounded us the second we had left moments ago. “So Lord Stark, what has your lady wife come up with for our two houses to become united once more?”
“Lord Frey, we have come up with a solution. We will choose some of your granddaughters to choose which of my unwed bannermen to try and form a connection with them. But under no circumstances will we force them into an arranged marriage where they aren’t happy.” Robb explained to the elderly lord before our eyes.
Lord Frey eyed his uncle Edmure. “I’ll agree to that on one condition. We shall join house Tully and house Frey through Edmure and my daughter Roslin who was supposed to marry you, young wolf.”
“That can be done, my lord. You have my word.” Robb bowed his head.
Lord Frey clasped his hands together. “Then it’s settled then.”
“We did it. Ahh!” I squealed caught off guard when my husband scooped me up into his muscular arms twirling me around in circles of laughter briefly sitting me back down on my feet.
Robb put one hand on my hip and his other on my stomach grinning ear to ear. “Now all we need is a baby of our own.”
“Actually there’s something I’ve been needing to tell you about. I told you before that I gave my maidenhood to Jaime, that was true but there’s more to it. Robb, I think I’m pregnant except it might not - urgh!” I grunted grabbing at my belly feeling serious pain with a liquid falling down in between my legs.
Robb's face went flushed with fear. “Haelesa?”
“What’s wrong with her, son?” Catelyn came over to where we stood.
Chezney ran over where I grabbed her shoulder for balance until she bent down seeing something staining on the stone floor. “That can’t be too good.”
“Is that blood?” I cried, feeling tears welling in my eyes.
Robb shouted at the people in the room scooping me up into his arms where I winced feeling more pain spreading through my belly. “We need a Maester!” I was rushed into the nearest available room and empty bed with no clue of what was happening to me and my secret baby growing inside of me.

In this chapter: A nightmare causes you to have a bad sleep. Levi comforts you and makes you feel better. Evan has been born and is very healthy. You are not so healthy and get a talking to about looking after yourself more. Rosaline makes her move with her guards and attacks, but with a lot of rage behind you both Levi and you manage to stop her.
Part 11
Pure fear consumed you as Rosaline clawed and scratched at your legs. It was impossible to scream like your mouth was locked up. No matter how much you fought and kicked, you couldn’t break free from her as she made her way closer to your baby bump. Tears ran down your cheeks when her fingers pushed into your belly trying to get your baby.
You sat up in bed with a cold sweat as your heart raced a few seconds later Levi woke up next to you due to the blood connection. You turned to your husband and wrapped your arms around him as you began to cry. Nothing was said between the two of you he just held you against him as you cried desperately in his arms.
He wiped your tears away and kissed you a few times. “Bad dream?”
You sniffed. “Yes.” A realisation hit you and you desperately needed to check something. You slipped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. “Please, please be okay.”
Levi hurried after you. “Darling?”
You stopped in front of the mirror and lifted your dress to check your big belly to see if everything was okay. “Thank goodness.” You lowered your dress and turned to Levi. “They’re okay.”
Levi walked up to you and placed his hands on your nine-month bump. “What happened?”
“I dreamt that Rosaline was clawing at my legs and then she pressed her fingers into my belly to get our baby.” You released a long sigh. “I just needed to be sure they were safe.”
He smiled sweetly at you. “They’re okay.” He leaned closer and kissed you. “Do you want to eat something? Go for a walk? Go to bed?”
You hummed in thought. “I would like some chocolate blood.”
He chuckled a little. “Sure, I’ll get some for you.” He held your hand and pulled you along to the dressing gowns. “Let’s make sure you are warm.” He put a warm dressing gown on you and tied the ties above your belly. “You look divine.”
You giggled. “Thank you.”
He yanked on his best dressing gown and presented you with your slippers. “Pop those on.”
You hummed as you did exactly as he asked. “Cosy.”
He held your hand again and pulled you to the kitchen to see only two staff members. “Excuse us, but my wife needs chocolate blood.” He released your hand and checked for what you wanted and found it. He pulled you close. “Want to eat in bed?”
“How about in the garden?”
“We can find a shaded spot and it is warm.” He hummed and walked out into the garden with you. “I won’t let anything happen to you or our baby. I know she hurt you before, but never again.”
You smiled at Levi. “I believe you.”
“I won’t ever leave your side.”
You hugged his side. “I believe you.”
He kissed the side of your head. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”
He pulled you to the great oak tree and sat you on his lap. He opened the box and fed you the delicious chocolates. “Taste good?”
You licked his fingers once you ate the chocolate. “Mm, yes.”
He popped one into his mouth and hummed. “You’re right, it’s wonderful.” He squeezed you. “You are far more delicious though.”
You giggled. “Thank you.”
He held your chin and pulled your mouth open. He eyed your parted lips before tilting his head and kissing you. His tongue slipped into your mouth and moved passionately against yours. He slipped his hand under your dress and dressing gown and caressed your thigh.
Loving touches became a little heated. The grass was soft under your body as you were laid upon it. A soft breeze drifted through the oak tree as your body was showered with love. The sun was beginning to set causing the area to be basked in an orange and pink glow. It was hypnotic to be together and move under the perfect sky.
Chocolate broke in Levi’s mouth before your lips and tongue were joined together in a passionate kiss. Blood and chocolate mixed. Hands moved over each other as soft moans left each of you. Moving together you moved with love trying to reach a blissful end. Never before had you both done something so arousing in a public spot.
Tired bodies after gentle lovemaking lay together. As the two of you lay there panting, you were on your sides gazing at each other. Touches were gentle and loving. Fears and nightmares were long forgotten as you admired each other’s glows from euphoric orgasms. Blushes consumed your faces when you thought over what you both had just done.
You wiggled closer to Levi, his warmth drawing you in. You turned with your back against Levi and nestled yourself against him. The soft lips of your husband on your neck soothed you, along with his hand on your belly. “Levi.”
He leaned over and kissed you before softly saying your name. “I wasn’t too rough, was I?”
You rolled onto your back and smiled up at your husband. “No, you were perfect.”
He caressed your cheek as he gazed at you. He smiled sweetly at you before kissing you over and over. “Forgive me, but you are irresistible.”
You giggled. “So are you, my darling, but I am near my due date and can’t make love to you as much as I used to.”
He placed his hand on your belly. “I know, my darling. You are incredible.”
You rubbed his cheek as you thought a moment. “I think we might have grass stains.”
He chuckled. “I think so too.”
You huffed a bit. “I don’t think I can get up.”
“That because of the baby or because I exhausted you?”
“Both.”
He blushed a bit. “I will carry you both to bed.”
You giggled in delight as he scooped you up into his arms. “Thank you.”
“I’m always happy to carry you like a bride.”
You blushed a little. “I meant umm…”
He looked down at you as he strolled. “You meant something else?”
“Thank you for making me feel like a bride again.”
He kissed you. “You’re welcome.”
You hummed. “Thank you also for doing all of this. My bad dream messed with me and you just soothed it all.”
He stood you before the bed and changed your clothes so they were clean and no longer stained. “Well, I’m glad I could soothe you during a rough time.”
You sat down and stared at your bump. “It’ll all be okay, right?”
Levi knelt in front of you and gazed up at you. “It will. It really will. I will make sure of it.” He kissed your belly. “I’ll protect you and our baby. Erwin and many others will help us put an end to Rosaline.”
“It’ll be okay.” You let out a long sigh. “You want to talk to our baby for a bit?”
Levi’s eyes lit up. He started kissing your belly and smiled. “Hello, my little flower. It’s daddy again. I have another story for you today!”
You giggled as Levi lovingly spoke to the baby and told them fun stories about his past. “You were a right rebel as a teen.”
“I had my moments.” He smirked at you. “I’m more of a naughty boy now.”
You blushed. “You really are.”
“You should lie back, my darling. I’ll talk to our baby. We have things to discuss.”
You wiggled on the bed and got comfortable. “Well, I wouldn’t want to disturb you both.” You hummed a laugh. “Behave.”
Levi smiled. “I will.” He leaned down and whispered. “Listen, little flower, I know you are going to love your mummy a whole bunch. She’s incredible. I will love you more than anything as well. We’ll work together to make her the happiest person in the world. We also gonna learn to share her too. I know we’ll get along perfectly. We’ll be best friends.”
You closed your eyes as you smiled. “Best friends, huh?”
He looked up at you. “Shhh. No listening.”
You ruffled Levi’s hair. “You’re cute.”
“Thank you, but you’re cuter.” He gasped. “You should be sleeping!”
You squealed with laughter as he started tickling you. “Stoooop.”
“Naughty wife.”
You giggled and gazed at him. “I am.”
He smiled at you then lay next to you and held you close. “Mine.”
“Yes, yours.”
Evan was the most beautiful baby boy you’d ever seen. Not only did you and Levi admire and fuss over him, but all the staff did, your parents and Levi’s. Evan had the biggest and brightest steel blue eyes, the same wonderful colour as Levi’s. He was always gazing so sweetly at you and Levi like he was deeply in love with you both. It warmed your hearts to know your child loved you.
There was still a deep fear in you that what happened to you had made Evan sick. So, you had Hange checked him over medically to see if he was sick. No matter how much you tried to heal yourself, the damage that had been done to you was irreversible. You could tell by the looks people gave you and their whispers that you should have been a very strong vampire, but Rosaline prevented that. You got a bit sickly sometimes because you were hurt during your development time.
Everyone made sure you felt strong and that you were supported. Giving birth to Evan was scary to many, but it went so smoothly. The pain was very minimal because your body was built for healing wounds thanks to the vampire blood. After you had Evan, you did take a turn and were weak for a few weeks. Many were worried about you but you and Levi held out hope and kept positive.
Hange blew on Evan’s belly making him wiggle in delight. “Your son is incredibly strong. I don’t see any side effects from what happened to you. It seems like momma bear took all the damage.”
You welled up at the news. “So, Evan is okay?”
She picked up your son. “He is more than okay. You have a very strong pure blood here. He will make the Ackerman family proud.”
You took Evan from Hange and hugged him as you cried. “My strong little man.”
Levi hugged you and Evan. “This is perfect news.” He gazed at Hange. “What about?”
Hange smiled. “It’s the same thing I said last time. She’ll get better in time. She needs to keep healing.”
Levi kissed your temple. “My strong wife.”
You smiled up at Levi. “I am.” You looked down at Evan as he pulled at your dress and whined. “I need to tend to Evan. I think he’s hungry.”
Levi followed you. “I’m coming with you.”
You rocked your son. “He’s so cute.”
“He is.” He looked over your shoulder. “It’s because he looks like you.”
You frowned a little before looking at your husband. “Me? He’s a splitting image of you.”
“He has your big eyes.”
You sighed. “You just want to shower in compliments, don’t you?”
He hummed a laugh. “You know me well.”
You sat down with Evan and let him feed. Baby vampires would have milk from their mother until their teeth started coming through and then they were changed to blood. It impressed you how much Evan ate, he often wanted to be fed and it was so strange not to have to change a nappy. Vampire babies were so unique and special, you couldn’t wait to see what happened when Evan grew up.
You patted Evan’s back making him burp. “When does he stop ageing?”
Levi sat behind you and hugged you. “When he reaches the human age of thirty.”
You tickled Evan’s cheek as he gazed at you. “He’ll live with us for eternity, right?”
Levi kissed your neck. “Yes.”
You played with Evan’s adorable locks. “He’s so perfect.”
“He is.” A chuckle escaped Levi. “He is locked onto you, huh? He’s always gazing at you.”
You turned and looked at your husband. “He stares at you when you’re around too.”
“He’s more transfixed by you.”
You looked down at your son. “That true?” He leaned down and kissed Evan’s cheek. “You love mummy?” You giggled as Evan touched and patted your face with a bright smile. “So adorable.” You pulled back and laughed as Evan wiggled his arms in excitement. “Someone is happy.”
Levi chuckled. “I would be if you did that to me.”
You turned your head and kissed Levi. “Like that?”
Levi whined a little. “Yes.”
“Shall we go for a walk?”
Levi hummed in thought. Now Evan was born, Rosaline would be coming for you and him. It was a scary time for you all as a family. The stress was getting to Levi and he wanted to lock you and Evan up and never let you go, but he knew very well he couldn’t do that. He was bouncing between the fear of losing you both and knowing that everything would be okay.
You tilted your head a moment. “Levi?”
He released a long sigh. “I uh…I don’t know. I need to think.”
You stood up with Evan. “It’ll be okay. Come on.”
He hurried after you. “Darling.”
You looked back at him. “It’ll be okay.” You opened the front door. “We can’t live in fear all the time.”
He rushed outside after you. “Darling, please.”
You stopped outside and gazed at him. “Yes?”
“Please, slow down. I just…I need to process things.”
You adjusted Evan so he could see Levi. “I love you.”
Levi blushed hard. “I love you too.”
“We both love you.” You walked up to Levi. “I know it’s hard. You lost me and got me back to find I was badly hurt. You had to hide me away and see me be sick after giving birth. I can’t imagine the anxiety and pain you experienced.”
“I feel selfish. You were the one who got hurt. You were the scared one. You were the one who was taken.” He lowered his head. “I shouldn’t be the one making a big deal.”
You handed Evan over to Levi. “I think you need baby therapy.”
His gaze softened as Evan stared at him. “Hello, my little flower.” He chuckled as Evan smiled and reached for Levi’s face. Levi kissed Evan’s face. “I love you more than words can describe. Both of you.” He released a long sigh. “I can’t lock you both up forever.” He looked up at you as Evan grabbed at Levi’s shirt. “But please listen to me when danger arrives. I have to keep you safe at all costs.”
“I swear.” You sighed. “And Levi? You’re not selfish at all. Losing your wife and child…I can’t imagine how terrifying that would be. If I lost you and Evan I would fall apart.” You caressed his cheek. “I have full faith in you and the others.”
He leaned into your touch. “Thank you.”
“If you think we should hide a bit longer, then we will.” You held Evan’s little hand. “I never thought I would say this before meeting you, but I hope you rip her fucking head off. Rosaline needs to die for the good of all vampires and humans.” You looked Levi in the eyes. “Are you okay with taking a life? It’ll stay with you for eternity.”
“Taking anyone else’s would be hard to do. I can take hers. I’ve dreamed of it for slow long. I have watched her slaughter friends of mine. She hurt you.” He snarled. “I want her dead.” He looked down at Evan when Evan giggled. “You like daddy’s fangs?”
“I think he does.” You hummed a laugh. “Little toothless vamp.”
Levi chuckled. “I can’t wait to see his baby teeth. They’ll be so cute.” He looked up at you. “Darling?” He reached for you. “Darling you’re bleeding.”
You reached up and touched your top lip and felt something wet. “Oh, it must be stress, or the sun or maybe not enough sleep.” You smiled at Levi. “I’ll go drink some blood and get a nap. Could you look after Evan for a while?”
He watched you hurry past. “Is there anything else I can do?”
You looked back. “Just look after our little boy.”
Levi stood in the front garden holding his son. He looked down at Evan and smiled softly to try and calm him. “It’s okay, Evan. Mummy needs some rest.”
Evan hiccupped before whining a little and welling up.
Levi wiped his son’s tears away. “I know. I know. I’m worried about her too.” He blew on his son’s cheeky making him squeal with laughter. “Come on, handsome. Let’s take a little walk. You need to see the world and your mummy needs to rest.”
Evan flapped his little arms and gripped Levi’s shirt as he babbled.
“I agree.” He reached the oak tree and sighed. “Your mummy and I love this tree.” He sat down and shifted Evan on his lap so he could see. “Isn’t it pretty?”
Evan stared out at the view as he sat on Levi’s lap. The firm hand of Levi was on his tummy holding him close. Evan’s little hand softly gripped Levi’s.
Levi kissed the top of Evan’s head. A delicate smell of flowers overwhelmed Levi making him tear up. The natural scent of his son was a mixture of the perfume you used and a sweet and soothing flower. It brought a tear to Levi’s eye at how you were always with him through Evan. No matter what, Levi was going to do everything he could for you and Evan. His determination was strong.
Evan shifted and whined a little as tiredness took over, along with missing you.
Levi kissed the top of Evan’s head. “You’re tired, huh? I guess we could do with a nap as well.” He got up and made his way back to the home. “I should talk to Hange.” He moved through the home to Hange again. “Can I have a word?”
Hange lit up when she saw Evan again. “Hi! It’s the cute little Ackerbaby!”
Levi handed Evan over to her to keep her calm. “Yes, focus on the baby so you’re calm.”
Hange giggled as Evan patted her face. “He’s so cute. How can I help?”
“My wife…her…her nose started bleeding.”
Hange looked over at her dear friend. “It did?”
Levi sat on the edge of the desk. “She said she’d have some blood and go to bed. Please…please tell me it’s just stress. Please tell me it’s nothing serious.” He gave Hange a pleading look. “Please.”
Hange crouched in front of Levi. “Listen to me, okay? That woman has been up most times you’ve been sleeping. She’s been working herself silly on her Lady duties and caring for your son. I’ve caught her and told her off. She hasn’t been eating much blood either. She’s running herself dry. This has nothing to do with the injuries she got, okay?”
Levi released a long sigh. “Thank you.”
She lifted Evan in front of her face. “That’s right Daddy! Mummy is safe! Now take me to mummy so we can all cuddle in bed.”
Levi chuckled. “Funny.” He took Evan from Hange. “I appreciate you, Erwin and Mike. You have no idea how wonderful you are to us as a family.” He stood up and smiled. “I’m glad you three are my friends for eternity.”
Hange smiled softly. “Me too. Now, go rest and have plenty of babies with your wife. I have a feeling you two are special and there will be more than Evan.”
Levi looked down at his sleepy son. “I think so too.”
“Sleep well.”
He bowed his head and made his way to the bedroom to see you were curled up in bed. He gently lay Evan in his cot and then moved the cot to his side of the bed. If Evan woke up and whined, Levi would hear it and be able to tend to him before you woke up. Levi wanted you to get plenty of rest.
Levi changed into his bed things and climbed in next to you. He instantly relaxed but you made him tense up just a little when you rolled over and snuggled up to him. “Love?”
You released a long sigh. “I was wondering when you’d join me.”
He rubbed your back. “I had a little walk with Evan.”
“Was it nice?”
“Yeah, we went to the oak tree you love.”
You leaned up and looked at Levi. “So cute.”
He caressed your cheek. “You have your colour back. Did you drink plenty of blood?”
“I did.” You sighed. “I need to admit something.”
“I’m listening.”
You lay against Levi. “I’ve not been sleeping most nights. I’ve been working on my Lady duties. I’ve been tending to Evan too. I’ve not been drinking much blood.”
He said your name with concern but a little sternly. “You can’t beat Rosaline like you want to by making yourself this sick.”
“I know.” You sat up on Levi. “I should be punished.”
Levi stared at you in your nightdress, the front was low allowing him to see the tops of your breasts. He admired your hair down and fluffy. He gulped when your thighs clenched him and the dress slipped off your shoulder. “Darling.”
You pouted. “Am I forgiven or will you punish me?”
Levi threw his arm over his eyes and groaned. “Fuck, darling you are adorable.”
You leaned on his chest. “Levi.”
He moved his arm and sighed. “You’re really beautiful.”
“Thank you.”
“Can I get a kiss?”
You leaned down and kissed him. “I love you.”
He wrapped his arms around you and rolled onto you. He enjoyed the giggles that came from you. “You need to behave, Mrs Ackerman.”
“I will, I promise.”
He kissed you and hummed. “Please take care of your health more.”
You nibbled your lip. “I am sorry again for doing all those things without you knowing. I’ll be a good girl.”
He massaged his fingers into your hair. “Wake me up, okay?”
“I promise.”
“Thank you.”
You followed Evan as his little hands slapped on the floor while he crawled. You hummed a laugh as he got excited and moved as fast as possible towards the door. “You are so excited.” You opened the door to reveal Levi’s study at the hideaway home. “Go get him.”
Levi finished off a paper for Erwin. “I think that should finalise everything.”
Erwin looked it over. “Yeah. That’s everything in order. We can go ahead with the plan.”
“Good.”
Erwin shifted in his seat and smiled when he saw Evan crawling over. “Looks like the boss is here.”
Levi stood up and walked around his desk to see Evan coming over. “Evan!” He grinned in delight. “Hey, little flower.” He scooped up Evan and showered his face with kisses. “I hope you’ve had a nice time with mummy.” He looked over at the door to see you in a stunning dress. “Who is that beautiful woman?”
Evan reached for you. “Ma, ma, ma!”
Levi handed Evan over to Erwin. “Could you hold him a moment? I have a beautiful woman to kiss.”
Erwin adjusted Evan. “Hello, little man. It’s time to play with your uncle for a bit.”
Levi yanked you against him and growled. “Fuck, you are stunning.”
You hummed a laugh. “Thank you. You are very handsome today.”
Erwin carried Evan with him. “All right, Mr, let’s go play somewhere.” He hummed. “How about we play with Uncle Mike?”
Evan huffed a sigh and then began pulling at Erwin’s shirt. “Mm.”
“You thinking it over?”
Evan looked up at him and began giggling.
Erwin smiled. “Well, I’ll take that as a yes.” He hurried outside where Mike was in the garden with his two dogs. “Mike!”
Mike turned and grinned. “Hello, both.” He walked over and held Evan’s little hand. “What’s the plan today?”
“Keeping him busy while mummy and daddy play.”
Mike chuckled. “Levi keeps surprising me with how hungry he is.” He hummed in thought. “I can think of a few things we can do.”
“Can you?” Rosaline walked closer with a few vampire guards. “Does it involve me?”
Erwin growled. “Damn woman.”
She gasped in delight. “My baby has been born!” She squealed in delight. “Look at him! He looks just like Levi.”
Mike snarled. “Get Levi. My dogs and I will keep her back.”
Erwin backed up. “Be careful.” He moved fast through the home and knocked on the door hard. “Levi! Whatever you are doing with your wife has to stop!”
Loud stumbles and fumbling were heard before the door was thrown open to show Levi looking a bit messy. He panted and gulped. “What’s happening?”
“Rosaline is here. Mike is out there facing her alone.”
You hurried to the door with your dress just about put together. “She’s here?”
Erwin handed over Evan. “She is.”
Levi snarled. “It’s time. What about Hange? Any word from her?”
“She’s probably on her way back with Damian and his rebel group, but no word. We have to start the fight.”
Levi turned to you. “Keep Evan safe with you. If you need to run, run. The oak tree is a safe spot.”
You held Evan close and backed up. “Please, be safe.”
“I promise.” He kissed you and sighed through his nose. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
He kissed Evan’s cheek. “Be good for mummy.”
You held Evan close as you watched your husband and his friends go off to fight the biggest battle of their lives. You looked down at Evan as he clung to you and began crying. You rocked him and bounced him as best as you could to make him happy. You paced in Levi’s office and couldn’t believe what had just happened. Only moments ago, Levi had been making love to you against his desk and now your son was crying in your arms as Levi was trying to kill Rosaline and her little army.
“It’s okay. I’ll be okay. Daddy will win.” You kissed his face. “It’s okay. Focus on mummy.”
Evan whimpered a little and gazed at you. “Ma, mm.”
The room became cold when a scream echoed down the hall. A little whine came from your son as footsteps got closer to the two of you. Instinct took over, you had to protect your son. With swift movements, you hurried to the balcony doors and opened them causing the sounds of the fighting to drift into the room. Your chest heaved in your corset as a slight panic set in. A deep animal instinct took over, you and Evan were in danger.
The door to the office splintered and groaned under a force before obliterating in parts and others blowing up into the room. Silence filled the room before a starved-looking vampire stepped into the room. He sniffed the room slightly before locking his gaze on you. A wicked grin spread over his cracked dry lips making him appear grotesque.
The chuckle that escaped him made your eyes well up with fear. “Little mouse. Time to play.”
You ran out onto the balcony and jumped off as the wicked man screamed in anger. You quickly glanced over to the fighting to see Levi slamming a blade into a guard’s chest. You looked up at the man above you to see he was coming. “LEVI!”
Levi glanced over at you to see the man jump down after you. He called your name right as he was attacked. “RUN!”
Tears filled your eyes as you began to panic. Thankfully, Levi’s blood within you commanded you to move. Before you registered what was going on, you were racing towards the oak tree just like Levi had told you. The precious bundle of joy in your arms was the priority, you needed to keep him safe. You would kill anyone who got in your way and hurt your precious baby boy.
You skidded to a stop when you saw Rosaline was waiting for you. “You!”
Rosaline grinned. “Look at you. You’ve healed up and turned into a lovely little vampire.” She gasped in delight. “And you gave birth to my beautiful son!”
“He is my son.”
She tilted her head and hummed. “I don’t think so. Give him to me.”
You snarled at her. “I’ll kill you.”
“You don’t have the strength.” She clicked her fingers. “Daniel, darling, do what you were made to do.”
You twisted back from the ghastly man who’d been following you. “Touch me and I rip your heart out.”
An evil laugh left him. “You wouldn’t be able to with a baby in your arms.”
You grabbed the bottom of your dress and tore it apart allowing you to get a long piece of fabric. Your body twisted and moved as he lunged for you over and over. With a few quick movements, you managed to tie Evan to your chest. You yanked the cloth tightly as Evan giggled at being so close to you. Now you were ready to fight and you were fuelled by rage towards the things that had been done to you, the fear they’d place you in and the constant running and hiding.
Rosaline screamed in frustration. “Get my BABY!”
The grinner launched at you and you let him. You caught his wrist and slammed the side of your hand against his neck. A choked cry fell out of him. You put all your strength into twisting his arm and causing the bone in his arm to splinter and shatter to pieces. With a strong yank, you threw him to the floor. Pure animalistic rage filled you and pumped through your veins. Kill was your instinct and kill was what you were going to do.
As your heart raced your body was filled with adrenaline. Your movements were swift as you swiped with your nails at the crazed man. Most would assume that it was vampire instinct, but for you this was motherly. No one could touch or hurt your precious baby. The desire to kill was a scary thing to have, but when it came to someone you loved sometimes you were willing to do anything possible.
A beautiful location that was known for your and Levi’s love was now going to be stained with blood. It didn’t matter what was going to happen to you, all that mattered was your child and your husband. The wind rushed by you as you sprinted towards the man before you. You launched yourself at him and slammed him against the floor and let your anger and pain take over.
Your fingers plunged deep into his chest, your nails piercing his heart as you slowly killed him. “Die.”
Rosaline grabbed your hair and ripped you away from her soldier, but it was too late for him because his heart was in your hand. “You nasty bitch.” She wrapped her hand around your neck and smirked. “You are weak. I made you weak with my little light game.”
You gasped and struggled under her. “Let. Me. Go!”
She gripped your neck hard and clawed your throat. “That’ll stop you a bit.” She grabbed Evan and ripped him from you making him scream and cry. “Hush now little one, your real momma is right here.”
You rolled onto your front and crawled towards her. “Ev…an…”
She slammed her foot down on your leg causing it to break. “You’re weaker than me and due to the damage I did to you, it’ll take a lot longer for you to heal up. I’ll take my son away from you and we’ll be long gone by the time you’re better.”
You pushed yourself up with a snarl and stumbled to your feet. “Give…him…back!”
She turned and stared at you. “How are you standing? Maybe I should rip your arm off, or a leg.”
You used the last of your speed and strength to steal Evan back into your arms. You stumbled with him and fell against the oak tree. “I’ve got you.”
Rosaline stared at her empty arms and then glared at you. “My baby.” The air grew cold. “Give him back.”
You clung to Evan as he did to you. The blood that poured from your wound was warm and was working hard to heal you. It was hard to ignore the throbbing in your leg, it was going to be impossible to move with it. The fight was over for you and you hoped so desperately that you had managed to give Levi plenty of time to catch up to you.
She moved closer to you. “I know I promised you to my brother, but I think killing you might be better.”
Evan cried hard against you. “Maaaaaa.”
“I’m right here, baby.”
You turned your body away from Rosaline and shielded Evan more. “Mm, my son.”
She pulled her leg back and smirked. “Let’s kick your head in, huh?”
You winced in preparation for the impact, but nothing came. A strangled plea caused you to open your eyes. Before you was the most beautiful sight you’d ever seen. Levi had Rosaline by the neck and was holding her up off the floor. Tears filled your eyes at the sight of your blood-covered husband. “Levi.”
He snarled at Rosaline. “I told you to leave us or you’ll die.”
Rosaline gasped. “Levi, my love, I did this for you.”
“I. Don’t. Want. YOU.”
Fear filled her eyes when she realised Levi was going to kill her. “W-Wait! You c-can’t kill me!” She was desperate. “I-I’m the Queen! Th-they’ll have your h-head!”
Levi snarled. “No. I’ll have yours.” He grabbed her hair with his other hand and pulled hard causing the skin on her neck to rip and tear.
Seeing the Queen having her head ripped off was not something you wanted to see or have your son see. You turned your body away and protected Evan as the screams from Rosaline turned to the sound of flesh tearing and blood gushing. You rocked Evan and showered his little head in kisses as your neck healed up, but your leg was taking a lot longer.
“Darling? Darling, it’s okay to look now.”
You opened your eyes to see Levi’s sweet smiling face in front of you. “Levi. Is she?”
“Yes.” He scooped you up into his arms. “You fought well.”
“Thank you.”
He carried you and Evan back to the home. “We can go back to our home now. No more hiding.”
You closed your eyes. “Home.”
He smiled and looked down at Evan babbling away. “Mummy did amazing in protecting you.”
You hummed a laugh. “I did, didn’t I?”
“You did. Rest, okay? I’ll take care of everything.”

Romeo & Juliet [Part 1]
Pairing: Jacob Black x OC!Swan
Word Count: 1953
Part 2 Part 3, Part 4
Sloan Swan detested the assigned reading she was given. It bothers her that the widely accepted portrayal of Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet It was a narrative of blind lust for a stranger rather than an epic love story of two tragic lovers torn apart by their warring families.
“They loved each other.” Bella, her twin sister, argued as she drove them to school. In contrast to Sloan, Bella was enamored with the notion of love and disregarded the glaring red warning signs it left in its wake. Romeo’s lovely, meaningless words blinded her, just like they did so many others.
She criticized, “Romeo was literally ‘in love’ with Juliet’s cousin, Rosaline, and when she didn’t return his feeling, he went looking elsewhere. When he tells his friends about his ‘feelings’ for Juliet, they assume he’s talking about Rosaline.”
“That’s not true.” Her sister shakes her head in disbelief.
Sloan ruffles through her backpack, searching for the school’s copy of the play and flipping through the tagged pages.
“Page 32 to 33. Benvolio says to Romeo, ‘At this same ancient feast of Capulet’s, Sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so loves,’ and later in the same page Romeo replies, ‘One fairer than my love? The all-seeing sun, Ne’er saw her match since first the world begun.’ Romeo meets Juliet around page 53. Do I need to read more?”
Bella remained quiet as her perception of Romeo and Juliet was uprooted. The heartbreaking reality was silently placed in front of her, bursting a love she had equated her and Edwards to and a raging loathing emerged for her twin sister.
“And not to mention, Romeo only married Juliet to sleep with her. That’s not love.”
Bella gritted her teeth. “What do you know about love?”
“More than you, apparently.” She shot back. It was true she never had a boyfriend, but she was born with logic, and she’d be damned to ignore red flags when she saw them.
“Why do you hate love stories?”
“I don’t hate love stories.” Sloan clarified, “I hate toxic relationships disguised as love stories. There’s a difference.”
Juliet was a naive girl with rose petal shades shielding her from the truth. She was in love with the idea of love and fallen for the first boy to entice her. Her false sense of love drove her to follow him in death. Her end was tragic as she never once felt true love, only the lust of a boy impatient to bed her.
“I pity Juliet. Romeo used her and would’ve abandoned her when a new beauty caught his eye.” She sniffled out a yawn. “He plucked her from the sky and clipped her wings, locking her in a golden cage, and once he got bored of her song, he freed her but left her flightless. That would’ve been the ending of their story if they had lived.”
Bella remained silent, reeling in her fragmented view on Romeo and Juliet’s relationship, her hatred for her sister burning twice as much. The silhouette of the school could not appear fast enough as Bella hurriedly searched for a parking spot.
Her arms trembling as she parked her truck, unable to comprehend Sloan’s point of view on her favorite Shakespeare play, and needed some space to clear her mind. Sloan had zipped her backpack up; infuriating Bella. How can Sloan act as if she hadn’t disrupted her entire world. She slams her door shut as she frantically searches for Edward, her lifeline.
“Wherefore art thou, Bella? Sloan?” Mike calls out as he, Eric, Angela, and Jessica approach the two twins. “You finish the Shakespeare assignment?”
Jessica pitched in, “He means will you finish his assignment?”
“No, I don’t—okay I do.” He admits.
“I can help you with it — but first —” She pulls out her new camera, a birthday gift from her father that she was gifted earlier today. “I need a picture. My mom’s expecting a scrapbook full of memories.”
Angela holds out her own camera and says, “I take ‘em; I don’t pose for ‘em.”
“You do today.” Bella lightly pushed Angela towards the rest of the group as they arranged themselves.
“I can take the picture, Bella,” Sloan says while holding out a hand. “Go stand with your friends.” Bella reluctantly hands it over before awkwardly walking towards them as the group rearrange themselves for Bella to be in the center.
“You’ll photoshop my nose if it looks big, right?” The question was aimed at Bella.
“Don’t worry, I’m in the picture; no one will be looking at you guys.” Eric proclaimed confidently.
Jessica scoffs at his joke as the group decided on their final poses. Angela, incorporating her love for photography, points the camera at Sloan; Mike and Eric joust, and Bella stands in the center of their delightfully carefree selves stiffly. The clicks of the camera shutters as it freezes them in a moment in time and archives it forever.
Sloan lowers the camera before noticing their playful smiles dissipates except for Bella’s. The timid smile she faked grew into a real one as she had obviously spotted Edward, her boyfriend.
Although her friends did not mind the male, they did not appreciate how quickly she discarded them for him. When Bella and Edward started dating, they became placeholders for when he wasn’t around.
“Oh good. Cullen’s here.” Mike noticed the way Edward stared at Bella; it was not out of love but something more nefarious. At first, he chalked it up to jealously. His feelings for Bella were still ever-present, but he genuinely cared for her well-being. He believed, with all that he’s seen, that Edward did not love Bella the way she loves him. It was only a matter of time before he hurt her, and he prayed to be wrong for her sake.
Jessica’s response was even drier. “Yay.” Once upon a time, she had feelings for Edward, but the second he became unavailable, she pushed those feelings aside. Bella was her friend, even if she didn’t act like it most of the time, and she would never stand in the way of her friend’s happiness. However, she had noticed Bella’s co-dependency on Edward, following him around like a lost puppy craving his attention. It wasn’t healthy. Not one bit, but she had no right to say anything.
Sloan, too, did not like the relationship her sister had with Edward. Edward had stripped Bella away from her independent lifestyle. There was never a moment away from Edward. Bella would choose him over everyone, and the realization of this truth stung. She missed the days when the two of them would read together; although both were silent during this time, the conversations that happened afterwards were fun. Those days were gone, now filled with an empty chair and an untouched book, and Sloan having no one to talk to. She never thought she would become familiar with loneliness.
“Check ya, later.” Eric replied, sensing the uncomfortable atmosphere, and lead his friends away.
Bella hadn’t responded, nor did she notice; her attention solely remained on Edward, who approached her figure, his eyes never leaving hers. This was the moment when Sloan decided to leave, her absence going unnoticed by both her twin and the vampire. She preferred to be in her English class going over Romeo and Juliet than forced to watch her sister pine about her boyfriend.
From across the parking lot, someone shouted. “Sloan!” She turned her attention to the person, Jacob Black, her friend from the nearby reservation. His presence brought a smile onto her face as her worries vanished in an instant.
“Jake!” Her excitement could not be contained. It has been a while since the two of them hung out; both busy with school work and other responsibilities. “You grew.” She noticed. His muscles were more refined than the last time she saw him, he was now a head taller than her.
He laughed, “And you didn’t.” Now he can hold the television control over her head like she had done to him in their childhood. Sweet, sweet revenge.
She pouted, “Not my fault I’m bite-sized.” By no means was she short, not was she unusually tall. She was average, yet compared to the massive monster known as Jacob, it would appear so.
His glee was energizing, her thoughts on Edward and Bella fading into the foreground of her mind, acting as a life jacket keeping her from drowning in her thoughts and worries.
“Happy birthday.” He offers her a warm hug before reaching into his pocket, pulling out a small hand-woven bracelet. “It’s not much, I know, but.” He drops it in the palm of her hand, eyeing the marvel embedded in her chestnut eyes. “I hope you like it.”
“I love it!” She exclaimed, “You didn’t have to get me anything.” It was a thoughtful gift—something she’ll treasure forever. She quickly slips it on and makes a silent vow to never take it off. She won’t, however, except when she bathes or swims. She does not want his hard work to be ruined by water.
“I’m glad you like it.” He looks around for the other birthday girl, seeing her in a quiet conversation with her boyfriend. “I’m going to give your sister her gift.”
Sloan nods. Class is going to start soon, and she needed to get to class. “Bye Jacob.”
“Bye.” He rushed towards her sister, yelling her name to get her attention, managing to break up the couple for a few moments.
~~~
Bella quietly dropped off her sister at home before rushing away to her boyfriend’s house. Apparently, his family were throwing her a small party for their family only—the Cullens and the birthday girl—and no one else. Leaving Sloan and her father to celebrate the twins birthday alone.
The two didn’t plan much but it was just right for them. Both Bella and Sloan weren’t the party type, they preferred the quiet hums of their home, a homemade dinner with their father, and a hushed evening filled with television and soft conversation.
Sloan spent the day prepping for their meal, spicy honey garlic chicken with garlic Parmesan fries. It was a favorite she and her father shared. Bella’s absence remained a constant in their conversations. They spent their evening watching her favorite movies: Legally Blonde, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scream, and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
Charlie loved the days when he and his daughters would sit together and watch TV. Bella would hide under the covers whenever a horror sequence became too much, opting to stay under until the danger passed. Sloan would mindlessly make comments under her breath throughout the movie, only audible to the person sitting next to her. He enjoyed days like this, as they were a small snippet of the past, his daughters reminding him of their younger selves, and now they were all grown up.
Wrapped up in one of her blankets, she laid her head on her father’s shoulders, her eyes drooping. It was late, and Bella still hadn’t arrived. Their birthday was already over and not a single second of the three of them had celebrated as a family. It truly broke her heart.
She didn’t know when, but her father carried her to her bedroom and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before tucking her in. He was going to miss moments like this. His children are adults now, and soon they will be leaving the nest. He never prepared himself for this day, always believing he had more time with them, but he guessed every parent came to the same realization when the time finally arrived.
Stuck on a thing. I know I only have a few of the Mangst one-shots out right now. But writers block has me stuck on being able to finish the next few (ideas there; execution, not so much), plus this cold isn't helping.
Anyway, working on more worldbuilding while my brain clears up. Putting the poll first, context underneath. (Mild spoilers for New Eden Institution)
*seclusion not fully 100% for reasons below
So, I have Leslie (Rapunzel OC) and Rosalin (Odette OC). They're both in a similar boat.
Kidnapped young. Forced to look like pretty dolls for their captors. Find love (*love interest gets past the seclusion barrier) before being forced into the Institution because of their captors' jealousy. Kind of like the og fairy tales.
Now, either Leslie's first partner (one of two, in my version) either finds her in the big gated garden owned by Mama (real name Gaia/Mother Gothel OC) or they met in high school because Mama wants her to gain more skills to be "a perfect bride" (ie, Regency standards).
Then Rosalin, she's held in the same house as Teddie (full name Theodora/Odile OC) and Rudolf (Rothbart OC). So, being fully secluded from Teddie doesn't work, though Rudolf keeps her locked in a room when he isn't there and with him when he is. If she does go to high school, it's because Teddie convinced him to let her go.
Third option is they both go to a high school as a start to the New Eden pipeline. Either because of the love interests or they do have summer vacations, so authorities don't get suspicious and see said love interests in those time periods.
I might figure it out as the poll gets results, but it helps to ask to get unstuck, you know? And besides, if I don't go with what the poll wins, I can always do the idea with other characters in the New Eden universe. It's not like there's a lack of fairy tales out there.
Reasons I love Romeo and Juliet:
-One of the first things we learn about Romeo, one of western literature's most famous lovers, is that he's been locking himself in his bedroom, shutting the curtains to make the room dark, and crying all alone every day.
-Romeo just generally being such a hilariously dramatic sad boy for three-quarters of the play. Like, imagine your cousin comes up to you out of the blue and is just like, "Hey, what's up?" And you just immediately are like, "LOVE! LOVE IS CRUEL! WHY IS LOVE LIKE THIS?" And then you continued to be like that for most of the next few days until you tragically died.
-Mercutio just 100% getting what kind of a person Romeo is. He's like, "Well, we lost Romeo, but if we just shout into the air about love and how hot Rosaline is he'll probably come running this way."
-That moment during the balcony scene when Juliet is like, "I wish you were my little pet bird on a string and I could just pull you back to me whenever I wanted." And Romeo is just like, "Yeah girl, I'd love to be your pet bird." And then Juliet is like, "Good thing you're not though, because I would just love you and squeeze you so hard that I would probably accidentally kill you."
-When Romeo tells Friar Laurence about Juliet, and Friar is just like, "Dude, are you kidding me? Literally yesterday you were just here crying about Rosaline, the love of your life. Like, I can still see the tears on your cheeks and hear the echos of your crying." And Romeo, fool that he is, is like, "What are you talking about? You told me to forget my love for her! Why are you mad?" And Friar is like, "Yeah, I told you to forget her, not to IMMEDIATELY replace her with someone else!
-Nurse threatening to fight Mercutio.
-Nurse's relentless ability to avoid answering questions or talking about the topic at hand by telling random stories, dramatically complaining, or just randomly changing topic in the middle of a conversation.
-The fact that Romeo is stupid enough to kill his secret wife's cousin literally within hours of marrying her.
-Even though killing Tybalt was so dumb, I unironically love Romeo's revenge speech, when he's like, "My dude Mercutio's soul is on it's way to heaven, and I won't let him go alone. One or both of us will be joining him on that trip."
-Nurse, the bumbling, comedic relief character and a servant, claiming that Tybalt, hot-headed and murderous cousin to Juliet, was her best friend.
-Juliet finding out about Romeo killing her cousin, then talking about what lying, deceitful scum he is, and then immediately flipping out when Nurse agrees with her.
-When, less than 24 hours after Tybalt's death, Juliet's parents are like, "Wait, are you still crying about your cousin's death? Dude's been dead for like 12 hours. Get over it."
-When Friar Laurence is like, "I might be able to help you, but what I'm asking you to do won't be easy. And Juliet is like, "Oh, it won't be easy, you say? Let me tell you what I'd do to avoid marrying Paris." And she starts off pretty standard by being like, "I'd jump off a tower." And then somewhere along the way she gets to, "I'd rather be chained up with bears than marry Paris. Also, I'd be locked into a variety of different tombs/graves rather than marry Paris." And I imagine in Friar's head he's just like, "Funny you should mention that last one."
-The arrogance of Romeo, when he specifically seeks out the poorest, most broken down apothecary he can find, in order to use his money to coerce the man to sell him an illegal poison. He seriously has the nerve to be like, "Eh, money is a worse poison than poison anyway." Like, imagine going up to a person starving on the streets, using their hunger as leverage to get them to commit a crime for you, and then telling them that money is a poison. I mean, he has a point, but he might have the wrong audience for this particular righteous spiel.
Hermia always had a steady hand when it came to makeup, it made Juliette a bit jealous at times. Even at her young age, she had tons of practice from applying theater makeup. Luckily for Juliette though, Hermia was always willing to work on a new canvas. She needed to look perfect tonight, and for Romeo to fall for her even more.
Her cousin Rosaline was going to be in attendance, and she was not a fan of Juliette’s new relationship with her ex. Were they ever actually dating though? It barely lasted a few weeks, yet Rosaline’s scowls towards her grew colder with every sighting.
“What are you planning on saying to Tybalt if he catches Romeo here?” Hermia teased, gently blending in the foundation on Juliette’s face. It was certainly a possibility, but Juliette was going to do her best to prevent that from happening.
“Well, that isn’t going to happen,” Juliette assured with a small smile, sitting up straight as Hermia applied concealer to her under eyes. “He’s coming late, so I’ll have already done all of my socializing by then and he’ll be staying firmly outside by the patio—“ Juliette looked straight at her sister, “And of course my loyal little sister will be there to warn me if Tybalt’s nearby, right?”
Hermia rolled her eyes with a small smirk, “That sounds like a lot of work on my side, what exactly do I get in return?”
“I’ll continue to keep your huge crush on Mercutio a secret from Tybalt,” Juliette replied, “He’s suspicious of your friendship already, and he might have us both under lock and key if he ever were to find out about the extent of your feelings.”
Her sister could only stare at her momentarily, surprised at her sister’s retort. However, Hermia’s lips quickly curled up into a smirk, “You’re really sneaky sometimes—but I suppose that is a fair trade agreement.”
“Now, speaking of that Monty,” Juliette teased, watching as her sister picked out an eyeshadow palette to use. “How are things going with him?” She asked, “Is it love? Does he treat you well?”
Hermia laughed as she grabbed an eyeshadow brush, dipping it into a neutral pink color, tapping off the excess powder. “You move so fast, Juliette,” She joked, “But things are nice, he’s quite sweet too.”
“I somehow find that hard to believe, but I suppose I’ll take your word for it,” She giggled, “Now what about Puck though? I know you’ve liked them since you were a child, is that still a thing?”
“I would say so, yes,” Hermia assured as she nodded, “We’ve been spending more time together at play rehearsals as well.” Juliette knew Puck well, although clearly not as much as Hermia. The pair had been inseparable since childhood, it seemed rather—presumed that they would one day be together.
“And I do think Puck would make a better partner in the long run,” Her sister admitted, “I do really like Mercutio but he can be a bit—“
“Childish? Arrogant?” Juliette suggested teasingly as she raised an eyebrow, “Constantly picking fights with your dear older brother?” While she supported her sister’s happiness, she did not like Mercutio one bit. It wasn’t because he was a Monty, that wasn’t the issue at all. No, Juliette’s issue with Mercutio was that he was a conceited ass.
She dealt with him for Romeo’s sake, but she certainly hoped Hermia would not date him as it would mean seeing him more than she already did.
“You sound just like someone I know,” Hermia replied jokingly, “And I was going to say…tentative, I can never quite tell how he’s feeling, if he feels the same, if he’s even interested in dating at all.” The girl pursed her lips in thought for a moment, “But I suppose I shouldn’t confine myself to just one person yet anyways.”
“Smart girl,” Juliette agreed with a smile, “You never know who else could be out there.” It was a somewhat uncomfortable thought that she sometimes had herself. But Juliette knew she wasn’t interested in whoever else could be out there, Romeo was certainly the one.
She was young, but when you know—you know.
Back again with some class time antics for the boys while trying out more of tumblrs mobile formatting
Class time: Literature
The study of Literature in a yandere academy can range from ancient texts to current, but today the professor has decided to have the boys choose a book and present in front of the class.
Sebastian chooses “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare, always the tragic fatalist underneath his big adoring eyes. He paints Romeo as this strapping young love struck hero and Juliet as a weak and wanting damsel in distress. “What about Rosaline?” X asks dryly, not noticing how Sean begins to snicker and Sebastian’s reddening face. “What about her?! She left Romeo to become a nun because she couldn’t handle being truly loved! Only Juliet was the only person to understand him and-“ Sebastian was asked to sit down after that.
Sean chooses “You” by Caroline Kepnes, discussing the book and the subsequent show’s repopularizing of the American version of a yandere. He smirks at his brother the whole time as he describes the main character, Joe, before Kurosugi holds up a note that Sebastian begrudgingly reads. “It says, ‘so he’s a woman hating chauvinist? That doesn’t sound fit in the five definitions of a yandere we were taught.’” Sean smirks, “true, but he would be classified as a Manipulative-type, since his violence is only once his manipulations fall apart.” “But why do you keep looking at your brother?” “Oh, I told him it seemed just like him.”
After they pull Sebastian off of Sean, Kurosugi goes up to the front of the class and pulls up a PowerPoint on some anime that he didn’t translate the name of that seems to be a yakuza bodyguard and a princess like schoolgirl. He seems to be showing how the yakuza seems to be an Isolating-type, upset at the idea that the schoolgirl wants to grow up and move on with her life, away from the yandere. “So wait, yandere don’t or do want to be locked up with their loved ones, I don’t understand?” X holds his head, confused. Kurosugi smiles and nods. X sighs, his question unanswered.
X nervously presents Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and watches his classmates faces look ill. “Isn’t the girl in that like… 12?” “Uh, yeah, thought we were supposed to write about obsessive love.” Sebastian covers his mouth, “But that’s just gross! She’s underage and his daughter!” X was asked to stay after class to discuss what are appropriate forms of love.
Chapter 2: Safe with Me
Approx. 4,000 words; 25 minute read.
“You! Stop moving!” Shit. Fetch tsked softly and slid her butt to the floor, sitting down and raising her hands in front of her in a show of cooperation and surrender. But her eyes were narrowed and hard, her body language not hiding the fight in her eyes. As the guard moved his attention to someone else, Fetch slowly placed her hands on the floor, the tiles cool beneath her palms. Her position wasn’t far off from where she wanted to be in the room and she still felt that she could execute her plan, which fueled her confidence.
Back within the comfort of her own office, Rosaline created a makeshift pillow using her extra doctor coat that hung on the back of her office door and laid Caly down on top of half of a fluffy blanket on the small couch she had in her dark space. Caly made no noise as she snuggled in and started to drift back into sleep. Rosaline covered her with the remaining half of the blanket while thinking to herself how amazing it was that kids could fall asleep practically anywhere so quickly.
“You poor thing. You’re exhausted. I hope your Mom knows to come back here for you. I hope she’s… safe.” The words felt wrong to say, as though it sealed an unspoken fate. Rosaline tried to shake off the thought but then a familiar chime rang through the speakers and she almost dismissed it… except no follow up announcement signaled that the chime was just a drill. The hospital had different sounding alerts and drills were run several times a month, much like a fire alarm being tested to ensure everyone knew what to do in the case of a real emergency. This particular alarm that sounded was for a full hospital lockdown so now Rosaline was on high alert, further spiked by Caly quickly falling asleep in her office.
“Caly? Can you wake up for a bit? I need to go see what is going on. Stay here and stay quiet, ok? I promise I’ll be back for you. See my badge? No one can get in here without it. You’re safe.” Caly was struggling to keep her eyes open, her lids fluttering heavily as the doctor gave her instructions. Within a moment after a nod of understanding, Caly was back asleep, the blanket pulled over her head.
Rosaline did not want to leave Caly here but instincts told her it was the best thing to do right now. She left her office, ensuring the lock clicked into place behind her and smoothed her doctor coat as she quickened her pace toward the Maternity ward waiting room to see what was going on.
The day had been moving along just fine. Patrol of the city street from the rooftops was often boring work but Fetch enjoyed her shift nonetheless as it gave her time to stretch her legs and run free with her boost of neon at her heels. As she was about to call it quits and head back toward the school to review lesson plans before her classes started, she heard a shrill alarm from a large building to her right. Hazel eyes narrowed at the sight of two uniformed men standing outside the main doors and Fetch grabbed her cell phone, sending a photo and a short text to Delsin and Eugene.
Recognize these uniforms? Alarm at children’s hospital. Checking it out.
She didn’t wait for a response before turning off her phone completely and shoving it into the back pocket of her ripped jeans, dropping into an alley beside the hospital and strolling inside without a second glance from the unusual guards posted outside.
Once inside, she heard the alarm again and heard shouting from somewhere down the hall before her. Fetch didn’t wait to see what was going on while running down the hall as quietly as she could, her neon extinguished but easy enough to summon should she need it. She ducked into a waiting room where people seemed to be crying and whimpering. She tightened her jaw when she saw three men, in the same uniforms as the ones out front, with large weapons pointed at the people who were all sitting on the floor. Some were crying and clearly panicked and scared while one of the uniformed men with a helmet on and tinted visor down over his face was barking at them to stay quiet.
Fetch dropped to the ground trying to blend in and started crawling toward the center of the room. If she could get there, she could get the jump on these guys using neon without the worry of hurting anyone beyond her targets. She’d also have a straight shot to the doorway behind the men–an easy way to evacuate everyone once they were safe.
“You! Stop moving!” Shit. Fetch tsked softly and slid her butt to the floor, sitting down and raising her hands in front of her in a show of cooperation and surrender. But her eyes were narrowed and hard, her body language not hiding the fight in her eyes. As the guard moved his attention to someone else, Fetch slowly placed her hands on the floor, the tiles cool beneath her palms. Her position wasn’t far off from where she wanted to be in the room and she still felt that she could execute her plan, which fueled her confidence.
Suddenly a voice seemed to pull her attention from the guards, <Fetch…? Are you Fetch Walker?>
It caught her off-guard and she spoke normally without regard for the caution of the space she was in, “Yeah. Who said that?”
“No talking!” The familiar click of a gun being swung in her direction had Fetch growl as her attention was pulled to the barrel of the weapon. The men were wearing gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on their shiny murder toys… interesting.
<Keep quiet. They can’t hear me. If you are Fetch Walker, please just nod once or tap your finger along the floor twice.> The voice seemed loud enough for anyone to hear it and Fetch was slightly confused as to how someone could be speaking to her but no one else seemed to hear it. She waited for the guard to sweep his attention to a now sobbing woman and she tapped her index finger against the tiles twice.
<Thank God. This hospital is full of pregnant people, newborns and children. We need to make sure everyone gets full medical care without interruption. We need to get this situation under control quickly.>
“What do you want me to do?” Fetch spoke again, causing the closest guard to turn his gun on her, pressing the barrel into her chest sharply.
“I want you to shut the hell up! Speak again and you’ll be too dead to regret it.” A muffled voice sounded over the radio system attached to the shoulder on each mans’ uniform and the guard turned his attention to getting that message understood. Fetch glanced around looking for the person who was needing her help, but saw no one seemed to make eye contact nor get her attention.
<First, stop answering out loud. I can’t hear your thoughts but I am speaking to you through my own. Please nod if this makes sense.>
Fetch turned her attention back to the three armed men, quickly studying the uniforms for any identification as she nodded casually.
<Good. My name is Doctor Hutch. We are under a lockdown. These men stormed our hospital looking for something called ‘Project 41 and 42’. Do you know what that is?>
The voice was coming in clearer now that Fetch realized it was in her mind and that was why no one else could hear it. It was a woman’s voice and it was calm and collected. It had to be someone in this room with her but Fetch decided to stop looking for whomever it belonged to and to focus on the task at hand. She shook her head slightly from side to side in a silent answer.
<No, huh? I have a sinking suspicion that I have what they are looking for. I need your help to get to my office and get Caly to safety. I’ll find you after the hospital is clear. Can I trust you?>
Fetch bobbed her chin in response, her jaw set in determination.
<Thank you. I’m going to distract the guards and slide you my badge. You’ll need it to get access to my office. It’s on your left just past the Maternity Wing, first floor. Take a left out of that doorway in front of you. I’m counting on your speed here… please no fighting. It will scare her.>
With another subtle nod, Fetch stored the directions away and shifted herself into more of a crouching position to give her a jump start on a dash once the badge was in her hands. She wasn’t sure how this mysterious Doctor Hutch would distract these no-nonsense guards, but she was here for a reason and apparently that was not to help the hospital but instead to run with whoever this “Caly” was and to get her to a safe place.
<I’m going to cut communication with you now. Once the guards are distracted, take my badge and go. I’ll find you!> Suddenly, Fetch’s head felt heavy silence as though someone had turned on the noise-canceling button of headphones she didn’t know she was wearing. She focused on the closest man before her when suddenly he dropped his weapon and was scrambling to pull off his helmet with a loud shout. The helmet clattered to the floor beside the gun as the man put his hands over his ears and screamed in pain and surprise. The guard to his right gave a glance to the guard just outside the doorway before striding over to the one screaming and reaching out to him.
“Hey, what’s going on?” As the second guards’ hand touched the screamer’s shoulder he immediately also started yelling and panicking, weapon dropping and helmet quickly being unbuckled with his free hand. It was during this weird show of invisible distraction, that Fetch felt something bump into her boot. She snatched up the mentioned badge and in a burst of pink and yellow, raced out of the room, heading toward the office. The final guard didn’t even have time to fire a warning shot as he was so distracted and confused over what was happening to his partners that he let Fetch go further into the hospital without a fight.
It took seconds for Fetch to reach the office and she shook off her neon and gave a look down the hallway both ways before placing the badge on the reader and unlocking the door. She slipped inside and the door closed, locking behind her. She didn’t know what this “Caly” person looked like but before she could start her search, movement to her left caught her eye.
A child was wide awake and had moved herself into the far corner of the couch, her pink blanket brought up over her mouth, gray eyes wide in fear and uncertainty.
“... Caly? Are you Caly?” Fetch reached out to the child and she shrunk further away. The neon-wielder paused in her approach and instead knelt beside the couch, holding up the badge beside her head.
“Caly, Doctor Hutch sent me to come get you. It’s not safe here right now and she wanted me to get you someplace safer. My name is Fetch. Will you come with me?”
Caly looked from the badge with Rosaline’s photo on it, to Fetch and after a moment nodded then stood up on the couch reaching her hands upwards. Fetch released a quiet breath of relief and stood before picking up the child.
“Listen, I’m going to take you back with me but we are going to run very, very fast. I need you to hang on very, very tight, okay? You can close your eyes. I promise to be careful.” Caly nodded again and buried her face against Fetch’s neck, squeezing her eyes closed and clinging tightly to both Fetch and her blanket. Fetch reached into her pocket and pulled out the emblem that Delsin had given her. It hung from a necklace chain, something she had modified it to do instead of being pinned to her outfits daily, suddenly thankful she didn’t have time to clasp it around her neck this morning. She left her emblem necklace on the Doctor’s desk before pocketing the badge and listening at the door. No alarming sounds were heard so she carefully pushed the door open and checked the hallways before leaving the office and racing off toward the emergency exit. Leaving through that door set off a secondary alarm and this one she recognized as one that Seattle Police would respond to. She hoped they’d arrive quickly.
“Should we go looking for her?” Delsin was pacing in the office, wearing a path of worry into the thin carpet below his sneakers. Eugene was perched on the arm of the red couch in the office, looking at his cell phone and quickly running through different apps and settings.
Eugene paused long enough to make eye contact with his clearly worried friend, “Her phone is off. We can’t track her, but we trust her. We know her, Delsin. She’ll be okay.”
“What if something happened? What if she–” Delsin was cut off by a burst of bright pink neon rushing into the room and slamming the door behind her. Fetch seemed to be okay as she leaned herself against the door to catch her breath. Her back was to the guys and Delsin nearly seemed to snap to her side with Eugene giving her a once over to check for any signs of Fetch needing immediate first aid.
Delsin motioned broadly, his voice raised in relief with a bite of anger, “Fetch! You gave me a heart attack! What the hell happened–”
“Shhhh!” Fetch spun around then to face her friends and that’s when they both saw Caly clinging to and being cradled by Fetch. Fetch looked utterly exhausted too, which was unusual for her.
Delsin’s mouth dropped open without a sound. His anger vanished in a moment seeing Fetch standing there with this tiny human wrapped around her. Fetch looked so… motherly. That was something he never thought he’d see with her, despite his brain providing him with plenty of what-if daydreams in which similar scenarios played out.
“Is she okay? Are you? Here, get her to the couch.” Eugene leaped into motion grabbing a blanket and moving a throw pillow horizontally on the couch. He was great with kids, mostly because he felt like he could relate to them. The teenagers at the school were more comfortable with Delsin and Fetch.
Fetch blew out a rush of air and moved toward the couch, sitting down carefully and gently running her hand through Caly’s hair, “Hey, Caly? We’re here. You did great. You were very brave.”
Caly blinked and looked around cautiously before releasing her hold on Fetch and slipping off her lap and onto the couch cushion beside the pink-haired woman. Her gray eyes studied Eugene who knelt before her and offered her a rubber duck he pulled from the window ledge behind the desk. Caly took the duck and held it. Delsin slowly approached from around the back of the couch and gave Caly a quick glance before locking eyes with Fetch. His ears started to heat up suddenly and he raised one hand to absently rub the back of his neck, dropping his gaze to the floor.
“There was a lockdown at the hospital and these uniforms I’ve never seen. I went in, but then had a weird encounter with a conduit who had telepathy, maybe? She’s a doctor… Here's her badge. She said the uniforms may be after Caly here. Asked me to get her somewhere safe. I ran all the way back here via rooftops with neon, carrying Caly, so we’d have less chance of being seen.” Fetch tossed the badge to Delsin who caught it with his open hand. After examining it, he passed it to Eugene who took it and held it.
“Caly? My name is Eugene. How old are you?” Caly gave Eugene a small smile, mimicking his own, before holding up four fingers.
“She’s four years old, guys. Seems too young to do any damage that would cause a lockdown.” Eugene stood and took the badge to the desk, opening up their shared laptop and setting to work.
Fetch looked at Caly and tried to piece together the puzzle she had before her, but she felt like she was missing pieces. Caly yawned and snuggled against Fetch, placing her thumb in her mouth and hooking the index finger of the same hand over her tiny nose. She pulled her soft pink blanket up close to her face with her other hand, the rubber duck falling into her lap.
“Fetch, I… “ Delsin started to speak, but the image before him seemed to be washing him in feelings he thought he had long since buried and forgotten about. Fetch ran her fingers through Caly’s hair, gently pulling at the hair ties and releasing the platinum blonde hair from the lopsided and wind-blown pigtails and into a mess of waves and curls.
“I’m sorry to worry you, Smokes. I just had this feeling… you know? Like when you are exactly where you are meant to be? I didn’t have time to do much else besides send that photo and text.” Fetch’s voice was soft, speaking more to the top of Caly’s head than looking at Delsin directly. She wasn’t avoiding him, not exactly, but she had a feeling this was going to lead into a different conversation if she didn’t keep it on topic.
“Yeah, that photo was a bit blurry but I’ve never seen those uniforms before. I ran a script on it to see if I could track any similar photos and only pulled up one posted late last night on social media. They seem to be a cross between police and some old D.U.P. looks, wouldn’t you agree?” Eugene was focused on the laptop, the keyboard quietly clacking away, the reflection of the screen visible in his eyeglasses.
Fetch turned her attention to Eugene and tilted her head slightly as though she was lost in thought, “... yeah, maybe? I dunno… they seemed so… crisp. Anything popping up if you search for D.U.P. or factions?”
“Nothing. Everything is just from seven years ago when they disbanded and shut down. It’s weird though… Did you get a closer look at the logo on the front at all? It was too small and blurred for me to make out.”
“An owl. It was an owl. I got close enough to take note of it. I can draw it for you in a bit. I’m… kinda stuck here for right now.” Caly had fallen asleep against Fetch’s warm side and her thumb was slowly falling out of her mouth. Eugene glanced around the laptop screen and smiled at seeing Caly so cuddled into Fetch, before nodding with approval at Fetch’s suggestion.
Delsin suddenly interjected, pulling himself loose from his thoughts, “What about that doctor? Anything on her?”
“Doctor Rosaline Hutch, CGC which is code for Certified Genetic Counselor. Fairly new to Seattle. She has a published, award-winning paper on the conduit gene and how to identify it. It won her a prestigious ASHG–American Society of Human Genetics–award and quite a large sum of money. Looks like she used some of that money to help expand Seattle Children’s Hospital.” Eugene scrolled through his findings, “No mention of any kids of her own, but she does have a sister who lives nearby. Is Caly related to her somehow?”
“I… I don’t know. She didn’t say. Just told me to get her out of there and keep her safe. I figured this was the best place for her. Doctor Hutch said she’d find me after the hospital was safe. I left a calling card of sorts behind in her office to help her track me down.”
Delsin shrugged, “Then I guess we will keep the kid safe and wait it out. We can question the doctor once she shows up.”
“... Will she show up?” Eugene peered over his glasses, his focus bouncing between Caly and Fetch.
“Absolutely. I triggered the main alarm for the hospital on my way out. The cops have gotta have things sorted by now.” Fetch shifted just enough to gently maneuver Caly onto the pillow beside her. She grabbed the blanket Eugene had set on the couch and shook it out before laying it over the small child and making sure she stayed asleep.
Delsin stepped behind the desk now and took over the laptop, typing something quickly. The laptop speakers sparked to life, relaying a live feed of a local news channel that was set outside the hospital where the reporter was explaining that everything was under control and no one was hurt. His eyebrow shot up and he glanced back at Fetch over the screen.
Fetch rolled her eyes, “The doctor did something to distract the uniforms long enough for me to grab Caly. I’m not sure what she did or how, but they seemed like they were in pain from hearing something only they could hear. But if the news isn’t reporting about the uniforms then we may have bigger problems.”
“She’s right. No mention of the uniforms or anything related to any reason on why exactly the alarm was triggered.” Eugene had seized control of the laptop again and his glasses reflected that he had already pulled up various sources looking for information before it was asked of him.
Delsin moved to perch on the edge of the desk, arms crossed loosely over his chest as he exhaled a puff of air. No one had a moment longer to think things over before a soft knock sounded on the office door, “Come in.”
The door opened and a female student stood there in the hallway before waving hello at Delsin and ushering over someone beyond the door frame. A woman walked into the office with the confidence and professionalism expected of someone wearing that doctor’s coat. Her hair was up in a bun, made slightly messy from the earlier events of the day. She removed her glasses and allowed them to dangle from the beaded chain around her neck.
Delsin stood up and dropped his arms before clearing his throat, “Thanks, Alessia.” He crossed over to the door and closed it, leaving the students to wonder about the doctor now in a meeting with the founders of the school. Fetch glanced over the back of the couch and Eugene stood from behind the desk, closing the laptop.
The woman held out her fist and walked toward Fetch, dropping something into Fetch’s outstretched hand, “Thank you for this.” She peeked over the couch and sighed softly in relief at seeing Caly there asleep. Fetch nodded and clasped the returned necklace around her neck, dropping the emblem into her shirt.
“Doctor Hutch, I presume? I’m Delsin Rowe, that’s Eugene Sims and I see you’ve met Fetch already. Welcome to our safe haven,” Delsin spoke welcomely though he had an edge to his voice that teetered on the verge of suspicion.
“Please, call me Rosaline. I’m sure you have questions for me. I don’t know that I have all the answers, but I’ll tell you what I can.”
Fetch was standing now, having walked around to the back of the couch and was leaning against it. She held the doctor’s badge out toward Rosaline who took it and dropped it into her pocket. Eugene joined the group and stood beside Fetch. Delsin offered Rosaline a cold water bottle from a tiny refrigerator beside the office door.
“We’d love to know what you know.”
sugar's ocs, one piece edition! Do you have time to talk about Donquixote Rosaline ("uuuh, it's Roz, don't call me that") today? GREAT! basic info sheets above the cut; a more detailed discussion of how her parents got around to conceiving her below~
I could talk about Roz all day, and definitely will if someone gets me going, but the usual first thing that comes up is how did Law comfy enough with Doflamingo to get pregnant in the first place? I'll go ahead and tackle that here (while trying to be as brief as possible aksjdf)!
In the Roz-iverse, Law and Doflamingo's relationship is canon compliant up to the point of him going to prison. It diverges there, with him only spending about 2 years in lock-up before a massive riot breaks out, which he exploits (along with a few fortuitous connections inside) to escape.
His luck runs dry again there, though, as on the outside he has nothing left now; not even really anywhere to go. Cue him spending the next 10 months or so actively on the run, having just the worst time; bad turn after increasingly and debilitatingly bad turn, all which eventually lead to him going to track Law down.
In the time before this reunion (so, approximately three years) Law is going through the motions of working towards new goals but feeling...less accomplished than he'd hoped. Ever since the events at Dressrosa, a cloud of what now has been looming over him, and while he'd expected that, he also expected it to dissipate. He figured that after the dust settled and he got used to the idea of Doflamingo being (presumably) out of his life for good, he'd be reinvigorated, have this new zest for life and a drive to accomplish whatever half-baked desire popped into his brain. But that hasn't happened yet, and while he's fine (really, yes, totally fine) he's also feeling quite strange. No matter where he goes or what he does, he can't stop himself from thinking about Doffy. It's like he's sitting on this massive goose egg of unresolved something, and also (mortifyingly) a kind of guilt that he just can't place the source of.
Once he finds out that Doflamingo escaped, however, all of this gets pushed temporarily to the back burner. Assuming he's going to get wrecked in return soon, he switches to evasive maneuvers and keeps his crew on the move near constantly after the news hits. He also gets a bit obsessive over tracking sightings of Doflamingo, which he tells himself is just practical for avoiding him; but honestly, this little scavenger hunt/cat-and-mouse chase has him feeling like his life has direction again, and while of course he'd rather keep avoiding him, he finds that after a while the idea of a confrontation isn't so off-putting. He finds himself fantasizing about it, actually; maybe even hoping for it.
When they do eventually cross paths again, though, it doesn't go how Law expects. Doflamingo surprises him with his arrival, proving that Law was right about the guy tracking him down, but the reason for it wasn't what he assumed it'd be. Doflamingo isn't at all interested in a rematch. He's dead tired, beat to hell, and desperate want of a bit of cover - even just for a few weeks! He isn't picky, he'll take what he gets; and he's entirely convinced that the person he should get it from is Law. He's paid some blood back, Law got his revenge arc, so they should be good, right? This clears the board. And if the board is clear... well, actually, that means Law owes him. Doflamingo did care for him as a child, after all, and if they aren't beefing, Law is in his debt for that.
And this is. Well. Law can't entirely argue with it. They're similar in a lot of respects, but particularly in how they conceive of transactional relationships. Much as Law doesn't care for it, he can't deny that he owes Doflamingo something - at least, in this very particular sense. So, despite the tense reunion with feelings and nastiness all over the place, he does eventually agree to put Doflamingo up for a while. Partially because, as said, he feels obligated; partially because kicking Doflamingo in this weakened state would be ultimately unsatisfying; partially because he's never been entirely comfortable with harming Doflamingo with his own hands. Partially because, he can privately admit, Doflamingo is the last connection he has to Cora; partially because, he hesitates to admit even to himself, this is the most he's felt in a while and it's all a bit thrilling.
From there, things progress slowly and awkwardly, but quite naturally. True to form, Doflamingo gets his hooks in and overstays his welcome. He takes full advantage of Law's hospitality and worms his way expertly into the crew's daily life, and in doing so, forces Law to acclimate. Doflamingo is useful to have around, actually, Law admits to himself after a while; he's not opposed to pulling his own weight when directly asked, and all that extra muscle (once he's in good health) and experience with navigation and scheming is actually beneficial. Not to mention, he's a charmer. It doesn't take long for Doflamingo to make friends. He develops a good rapport with a number of Law's crew, somehow manages to claim his own room, wrangles a say in (very) minor internal matters. And Law...he knows he should put an end to it. He knows it's dragging out. He knows it's getting too comfortable. But honestly, he's getting used to it. He's letting is guard down a bit, and every time he does, he finds it easier to get along with Doflamingo than he remembers. Annoying as the man is in most cases, Law is reluctant (for reasons he refuses to look directly into they eyes of) to make him go.
After a few years of this - Doflamingo on and off the ship at this point, because he does get back on his feet and get cabin fever and want to go off on his own now and then - their relationship has improved enough for them to start. Hm. Getting cozy. Law doesn't plan on it happening at all, but he likes the push and pull they have going; he likes how he can be mean and catty and nip and Doffy and get a little bite back. He likes that he has someone around who reads the same weird books he does, and who negates his worry about being the most off-putting bitch in the room. He also likes having someone around he can talk to about Cora, though that takes some work. Early experiments with that go...badly.
Overall, once Law gets used to the set up and allows himself to think of Doflamingo as himself, without the burden of The Everything Else, he finds him...not that bad. Actually, he kind of enjoys him. Enough to get drunk with and catfight their way into bed, at least.
It's not a relationship; Law insists on that, as does Doflamingo. They see other people, particularly when Doffy's away, but they enjoy each other's company when they're in the same place. So much so, in fact, that Law gets comfortable enough to forget to be careful now and then. Which is, um, incidentally how little Rosaline gets conceived.
I'll Twist the Neck of A Sweet Dog (Webcomic)
Created by: Ena
Genre: Isekai/Tragedy
This manga is really tragic for pretty much everyone involved, but especially the main female lead. It actually reminds me a bit of A Star Reborn: The Queen’s Return, especially relating to the grooming of the main character. The yandere in question doesn't actually turn into a yandere until around chapter 30ish, and by that time the female lead already resents him pretty hard. Still, the artwork is pretty and the story is definitely one with a lot of oofs.
The story is about Chloe and Karios Ludwig. Chloe was abandoned as a child and raised by Karios- groomed into being Raymond's (Karios's half brother and king) wife so that Karios can use her to take over. Chloe has a huge crush on Karios and through his manipulation follows all of his orders, from becoming the woman that Raymond desires, to having a child with Raymond and even being used as a victim to get Raymond to back down. Through her ongoing relationship with Raymond, they eventually have a child named Esthel, who becomes the biggest source of joy in Chloe's life. However, with Karios's plan, she ends up tricking Raymond into coming over to Karios's place and is used as bait so that Raymond will let down his guard. Because Raymond loves Chloe, he gives up his sword and eventually his life to make sure he's safe. After Raymond is dead, Chloe falls into turmoil, wanting nothing more than to see Esthel again, but Raymond refuses, even suggesting that they should just make another baby to make her happy. With the help of Karios's guard, Enoch, she's able to see her baby once again, but is caught. Enoch is interrogated while Chloe gets locked in her room, unable to see her baby again. Marquess Rosaline (the one who marries Karios and who abused Chloe) ends up coming to her and essentially telling her to drink poison, implying that her child had already been killed. With nothing left to live and having had lived a miserable life, she drinks the poison and dies.
She ends up waking up back in time right after she sleeps with Raymond for the first time. Initially, she doesn't even realize that she's gone back in time, until she sees that the scar on her neck is gone. In addition, Karios seems to be much kinder to her, even abandoning his quest of getting revenge on Raymond and just asking her to stay with him instead. Raymond comes to visit and Karios seems really ticked off that he's here as he's tried to send him away multiple times. Chloe still sees Raymond as the man that she married and the one who sacrificed his life for hers, even after she betrayed him (although its depicted that Raymond seems more sinister looking than before when they were married). Chloe learns that Karios has actually traveled back in time as well, to sort of make up for what he's done. After her death, Karios goes insane and tries to wake her up, even going so far as killing Rosaline who at this point had Karios's child. We see him dancing and carrying Chloe's dead body around and acting as if she's still alive, something that continues until he dies of old age, realizing that the throne is worthless without Chloe. As it turns out he was blinded by revenge and didn't even realize that he was in love with her until he got jealous of Esthel, but by that time it was already too late. As a result, Karios is trying really hard to get Chloe to love him, desperately attempting to keep her away from Raymond. Chloe, at this point is tired of what's going on, and has had enough after she finds out that he indeed did kill Esthel, even going so far as to slap him and try to escape from the palace to get away from Karios.
Throughout this story, Chloe just falls into misery. She's raised and groomed by Karios, and always trying to prove her love to him, even after she knows he's manipulating him and even after he dates Rosaline. Raymond does actually love Chloe, even throwing aside his to be wed bride just so he can marry Chloe and have a child with him, and even gives up his own life to make sure he's safe, but even after all that, Chloe still tries to go after Karios. Finally, when Karios has used her so much so that he finally gets what he wants, he's unable to let her go, even going so far as to get rid of her child. It's no wonder that Chloe finally gives up her love and becomes enraged at him. Karios is a pretty horrible person though he does realize too late that he is in love with Chloe, and tries to make amends with her, but by that time, Chloe already sees him as irredeemable (which I mean, yeah, the guy basically used her love just to get what he wanted and then threw away the only thing that she loved in life).
Karios is only really a yandere from chapter 33 and onward, and that's mostly out of a sense of guilt. According to his point of view, he did have fondness over Chloe even as a child (which... ew), but he was too blinded by his revenge over Raymond to really realize it. He does become one after he sees her dead body, becoming delusional and wondering why she isn't waking up. After killing Rosaline, he keeps the dead body with him, dancing with it, and even as he's old, carrying it around with him. When he does go back in time, the first thing he does is go to Chloe, and tries to make her feel happy. Chloe doesn't believe this at all, and even after he pathetically begs for her to stay and even states that they should have a child and name it Esthel, she snaps and slaps him. The pathetic way he begs to Chloe to not leave him and the way she slaps him is really cathartic. Though there are some instances, I usually don't see the delusional yandere that tries to hold onto their beloved's body after death, and I always forget how both disturbing and sad it is to watch, especially since in this case it was pretty much for the rest of his life. When he comes back, he's much kinder to Chloe, trying to give her everything she wanted, as if she was naive with love like she was in her previous life. He gets annoyed and jealous of Raymond when she ends up crying while seeing her and even believes that it was something that Raymond convinced her to do, when it was her own volition this entire time. He begs Chloe to stay with him, even if it means she beats him up or hates him. Unfortunately for him, he's too delusional to even realize that what he's saying is so selfish that Chloe can't even take it anymore.
What an absolutely pathetic delusional man. I love it.
Anyways, if you are interested in this story, please read it, especially if you love angst and hope that Chloe will get a better guy.
Romeo & Juliet
"Romeo and Juliet," penned by William Shakespeare in the late 16th century, stands as one of the most enduring love stories in literary history. Set in the bustling city of Verona, the play unfolds against a backdrop of familial strife between the Montagues and Capulets, two noble households locked in an ancient feud.
At the heart of the tale are Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two star-crossed lovers whose fateful encounter sparks a whirlwind romance that transcends the boundaries of their feuding families. Romeo, a romantic at heart, is initially infatuated with another maiden, Rosaline, until he attends a masquerade ball at the Capulet household, where he lays eyes upon Juliet for the first time. From that moment on, their destinies become intertwined in a love that defies societal norms and familial expectations.
Despite the obstacles arrayed against them, Romeo and Juliet engage in a secret courtship, exchanging vows of eternal love in the iconic balcony scene. Their love is passionate and impulsive, driven by a desire to escape the constraints of their warring families. However, their clandestine romance is fraught with danger, as the escalating feud between the Montagues and Capulets threatens to tear them apart.
In a desperate bid to be together, Romeo and Juliet seek the guidance of Friar Laurence, who agrees to marry them in secret, hoping to reconcile their families in the process. But fate intervenes with tragic consequences: a series of misunderstandings and miscommunications culminate in a chain of events that lead to the untimely deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
The play reaches its heartbreaking climax in the Capulet tomb, where Romeo, believing Juliet to be dead, takes his own life beside her. Upon awakening to find her beloved lifeless, Juliet follows suit, sealing their love in death.
"Romeo and Juliet" explores timeless themes of love, fate, and the consequences of societal division. Through Shakespeare's masterful prose, the play continues to captivate audiences with its poignant portrayal of young love thwarted by the prejudices of the world around them. In its tragedy, "Romeo and Juliet" reminds us of the enduring power of love to conquer all, even in the face of insurmountable odds.
She was as lovely as her name suggested. Bright and vibrant, delicate and classic in her beauty. As she strolled through the garden, Isabella trailed behind her, studying her every move in awe. There was comfortable silence between them, punctuated only by the babble of the large fountain on the grounds.
The cool royal blue day dress-- a color native to her family insignia--was striking against the warm undertones of her skin. And she watched as a few loose curls broke free from the intricate updo atop her head. She was truly--
"Breathtaking." Rosaline said, stopping suddenly.
Isabella paused a few paces behind her, briefly wondering if her friend had the power of telepathy until she noticed the rosy pink sunset in the near distance.
"I do love this time of year," the princess confessed, joining Rosaline on the path beside a row of yellow tulips. "It's so nice to have more time in the garden before dark. Especially since I don't really get to see you anymore during the day."
She hoped there wasn't an edge of desperation to her tone, despite how she felt about the circumstances surrounding their relationship. Rosaline considered this with a pursed lip and gently grabbed the princess' hand. Isabella felt the heat rise to her cheeks, and she felt like the bodice of her dress was suddenly too tight, but she gave her friend's hand a small squeeze.
"I know, and I sincerely apologize," Rosaline turned to face Isabella with wide brown eyes as she gripped her hand just the slightest bit tighter. "It's just that...ever since Escalus returned home, it's been a bit hard to be around him. He feels different. Sometimes I look at him and I don't even see the boy I used to..."
She drifted off and briefly glanced down at their joined hands. With a quick shake of the head she let out a small, humorless chuckle.
"Forgive me. I don't mean to speak to you about my relationship woes. Especially with you about your brother. And I'm sure you have your own contention with the subject matter, after everything."
Ever the diplomat, Isabella forced a smile on her face, "I…am fine. Please don't fret about me. I'm a resilient woman born of a resilient matriarch."
She knew Rosaline didn't buy it. She seemed to inspect her friend's face as if searching for the truth between the lines. Behind the air of regency and poise, Isabella was still very much the girl she knew in her youth who openly and unashamedly yearned for everything life had to offer as well as everything it didn't.
"For what it's worth," Rosaline gently tucked a lock of Isabella's dark brown hair behind her ear, "I think you'd be a wonderful Queen. I have no doubt Verona would thrive with you at the helm. Not a soul on this earth has expressed their love and admiration for the people of Verona more than you have."
The small, intimate action forced the princess to swallow sharply and glance away to feign interest in the hedges.
"You jest."
"I'm sincere. And you know it."
When Rosaline did that--looked at her that way, or talked to her that way--she sometimes briefly wondered if maybe it was worth telling her the truth.
She glanced back at Rosaline to find her already studying her.
"What?" Isabella asked, offering a small smile.
"Will you miss me when I go? Will you write to me?"
The sadness of the reminder struck her more intensely than she thought it would, but Isabella knew that Rosaline's choice to leave wasn't one taken lightly. Her happiness meant more to Isabella than the comfort of her presence.
"Of course I will. I always miss you when you're not around." The second part slipped out and she wasn't sure how the eldest Capulet sister would register the tone of her words. Surprisingly, Rosaline pulled the princess into a deep hug.
"I do love you, Isabella. Very, very much. I'm so lucky to know you.
She could feel the confession pushing against her lips like sacrament in the middle of a church service.
I loved you first. I love you more. I cannot fathom a life free from you, as you've already captured me and trapped me in the very hands that caress my skin. And though I may have everything the world could ever offer me as a woman of my status, I would hand it over without any hesitation if it meant that you'd look at me the way you look at him.
Instead, the princess swiftly wiped the tears from her lashes before they could fall down her cheeks, and subtly buried her head in her best friend's shoulder.
"I love you too, Rose."
