Day 6 has been another very active day of exploring the Aberfeldy area. We went for a morning walk after breakfast to the local church for Easter morning to have a look and see if we could enter, but they were in the middle of a service. We then went wandering back to the @mainsoftaymouthcountryestate resort before heading out to drop the dad and brother to a whiskey distillery tour of @dewarsaberfeldy which gave them a nice insight to how whiskey 🥃 was made. We then went for another walk before we had Easter dinner and we had constructed our own Easter Cabin out of @cadburyuk and @hotelchocolat chocolates which made for a very nice dessert 😊😋. It’s been a wonderful trip full of culinary adventures and beautiful scenery and experiences 😊. Tomorrow we head back for the rolling hills of Surrey. Taymouth Castle

Taymouth Castle is located in Perthshire, Scotland. An earlier castle was built on this site to serve as the seat for the Campbell Clan in 1550. The first Marquis of Breadalbane demolished the original castle in the early 19th century and built Taymouth Castle on the 450-acre estate. The estate lies on the south bank of the River Tay, a mile from Loch Tay in the Grampian Mountains. The castle was built with blue-grey stone and constructed in the neo-Gothic style. The central building with its colonnade and corner towers dates from 1806. The interior is lavish with intricate carvings, plasterwork, painted murals, panels of medieval stained glass, and Renaissance woodwork. There are many deteriorating buildings on the Taymouth Castle Estate, as the castle sat unoccupied in 1982 and wasn’t purchased until the 21st century. The new owners are restoring the castle into a luxury hotel with a spa and equestrian center, which is set to open this summer. There are also residences being built on the property. The property still boasts an 1830 circular tower, with a two-stage circular Gothic folly, although built as a ruin, it was originally habitable. There are also two ruined temples, a semi circular folly, a ruined tower, a historic urn, and a historic dairy made of quartz stone that glistens in sunlight, which was visited by Queen Victoria in 1842. Taymouth Castle has an 18-hole golf course built over the castle’s former deer park, the course and hotel are closed and currently under renovation.

#Repost @charlotteflowerchocolates with @get_repost ・・・ Dipping up some serious extraordinariness here - battling with the heat a little (both literally - 22C in the workshop and rising, and spiritly - so want to be swimming right now). But forge on I must. Dipping fruit leathers in chocolate. Takes days to make these leathers - pick and process the fruit, dehydrate til just perfect, resist eating them. Matching each fruit leather with a chocolate was a treat (allowed to eat them for that!) and then dipping. Day 5 was a day of travel where we made our first stop at a town called Falls of Dochart where we had a wander around and had a drink in The Falls of Dochart Inn which is a very old but quaint inn with stunning views of the waterfall set in an old blacksmith’s house. We then proceeded to head down to The Boathouse Kitchen & Bar in Milton Morenish, which had beautiful views of the Loch Tay. They had some delicious food on the menu and I finally got a proper pint of Lemonade instead of a tiny 200 ml bottle of premium lemonade 😊😂. After a filling lunch we finally headed down to Killin where we arrived at the Mains of Taymouth Country Estate & Golf Course which is set in the beautiful countryside of Kenmore. We had another mini adventure around the area and discovered The Kenmore Hotel, which is Scotland’s oldest hotel started in 1572 along with Kenmore church and a beautiful view of the River Tay before it flows into Loch Tay. I've put together 20 minutes of footage of views of the waters of Loch Tay because I'm stuck indoors and want to look at nature and you might want to as well. It's quite tranquil.

It's a bit rough, the sound is very rough (mute it if it's too annoying). I recorded the footage last year in summer for practice and a video project I have yet to start on but hopefully this has some value.
