moreso i went down a rabbit hole a month or so ago and now know an awful lot about the lobotomies and the history of psychiatry related to drilling holes in people’s heads. like the original idea for it was when a guy was working on a railroad and got a pipe through his skull. he survived, somehow, but it showed a bunch of personality changes. and it’s always been around, even in prehistoric times, just rarely performed successfully
