Dark - Twilight would probably not be surprised. Dark would also be really open about having one, and he might even ask Twi to help him set up photo shoots or something similar. Twilight would feel a little weird at first, then feel weird about feeling weird, pushing himself to be more open-minded and accepting.

Twilight - Owo what's this?? Is it Dark's lucky day??? You know that bitch is stealing Shadow's credit card to sign up as one of Twi's biggest patrons if only so he can see those cowboy buns pinup-style anytime he wants. Dark is absolutely going to hide it from Twi that he's a follower, and Twilight would rather die than mention to Dark that he has an OF. Dark had better hope that Time never peeps his new lock screen tho...

Hyrule - Rulie's OF would have to protect his identity considering his day job, but it's still Hyrule at the end of the day. Legend is going to have mixed feelings about this, most of them bad, and although he like Time doesn't really have room to talk his dubious business with Ravio is much worse than this, he is going to say something about it to Hyurle. And it's going to cause a fight.

Wind - He's probably doing it at the behest of his partner in a delicious sort of long-term power play dynamic. He simultaneously loves and hates this.

Wild - Time would have a similar reaction as he does with Warriors, but I can imagine him having a bad enough initial reaction that he goes to the lengths of having Wild's page deleted before he comes to his senses and realizes what a dick move that is.

SETTING: HSH/LMTCOY VERSE.

CIRCUMSTANCES: NOT IN CRISIS/BASELINE.

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THEIR PERSONAL HYGIENE PRACTICES? AND WHICH PAIR OF LINKS HAVE THE MOST INCONGRUENT STANDARDS.

Have you truly prepared yourself for these answers, friend?

The general rule is that each of the boys has the sense to shower after a good workout or getting gross in some other way, no matter what their daily hygiene routine is otherwise. Under the cut because I had a TON to say about this apparently. I never even knew.

Time - He's a morning shower guy. He needs it to wake up and, since he likes to run or work out in the mornings, it makes for efficient timing. Plus let's be real, he's not getting the volume in those bangs unless he applies it in the morning, every morning. He prefers to be clean-shaven, making that therefore a daily duty. He used to use a combination shampoo and conditioner before Warriors got to him, and even if his hair is softer now he sure as hell isn't going to admit that to anyone. If he has a particularly eventful day at work, he'll have an evening shower as soon as he gets home, too--very hot and very, very thorough, followed by an aspirin nightcap.

Twilight - He's such a night-showerer. I attribute it to being raised on a farm. He gets up, he gets shit done, in fact he's getting shit done the whole day long so that by the time he's through Twi is ready for a hearty meal, some time to shoot the shit with his friends, and a hot shower before bed. He's not too fussed about making sure his stubble is shaved down every day, although for an event or something he's sure to be clean-shaven. Doesn't believe in conditioner. Twi's toxic trait is using the same towel for a week or more.

Wild - Showers occur daily, although at random times of the day. Maybe it's right after breakfast. Maybe he has to prep something for dinner, so he hops in sometime in the afternoon. Shaving occurs when he feels like it, although his facial fuzz is pretty sparse so it never matters much. His real barrier to entry is the length of his hair and the time it takes to dry it. Thus, hair washing is a once- to twice-weekly event at most. You know he uses Mane n' Tail shampoo, and he swears by conditioner, mainly because it helps him comb through all the tangles. He doesn't dry his hair, just plops it on top of his head in a towel or braids it damp to keep it out of his way. You always know it was a wash day because there's a six to eight-inch ring of dampness outside of the shower curtain. Hope none of the other boys were keeping a dry towel in there for any reason.

Champion - Showers after every work-out, so at least once but often twice a day, morning and afternoon. His showers are thorough but short: quick shave once a day every day, shampoo, soap up, rinse all at once. He's in an out of the shower in six minutes flat. He washes his hair EVERY time and towels it dry (RIP those split ends). Fastidious but utilitarian, Champion isn't one for conditioner or aftershave. He also didn't start using antiperspirant until he was in the Guard and saw that everyone else used it.

Warriors - There are two types of showers for this man. The first is the daily affair, usually taken as soon as he wakes up. He starts by warming the water while brushing his teeth (recharging electric toothbrush only) and inspecting his brows, then washing his face with a gentle cleanser containing salicylic acid (the only boy on the list so far who does), followed by a thorough shampoo and conditioning (this is the longest part of the routine). While the conditioner sets he takes a moment to inspect his nails and attend to any cuticle mishaps, then there's a rich lathering of shaving foam applied to his face, his underarms, maybe his legs if he needs it that day. (Before you ask: the hardwood floors get addressed by a trusted professional, licensed and bonded). He has a natural sponge for washing and exfoliation. Once all that's done, he has specific microfiber twist-towels for his hair (I hc he has natural waves or loose curls) and his towels are white and washed in unscented detergent. The rest of his routine has to be attended to in his room; he's already been in the bathroom well over the prescribed 20 minutes per shower, according to Legend. His other type of shower is the Spa Night affair, and that's more of a bath situation.

Sky - Ohhh Sky darling. I love him so, and his hygiene practices are adequate, but somewhat questionable in my book. He's a morning showerer, definitely needs that wake-up rinse, and the bathroom is his stop immediately after chugging orange juice at the fridge each morning. (Yes, right out of the carton. Yes, his name's on it.) He's an electric razor guy because it's quick. He always gets in the shower before the water is warm enough because he's impatient in the mornings, and he subsequently gets burned when it gets too hot and has to stand outside the spray doing that quick-reach-for-the-handles-and-shrink-back thing until it's cool enough to resume. My biggest hangup is that he uses a combination shampoo-conditioner-body wash product. Because it's quick. His hair is fluffy because it's probably dry as shit. The other thing about Sky is that he never EVER remembers to lock the bathroom door, so whenever he's in the shower it's a free-for-all if anyone else wants to come in and brush their teeth or whatever.

Legend - In the beginning, when he was living with Hyrule in that first apartment, Legend wasn't a daily showerer. He was pretty fucking depressed, so it ended up being every third or fourth day, at least until he came around to realizing "Hey, this kills some time." He's another random-time-of-day showerer, and sometimes it's an overnight affair if he's out working late with Ravio (like, 2-4am). He'll use cheap drugstore shampoo and body wash, and on occasion will shamelessly use some of War's expensive bullshit conditioner for a special occasion. One of the few boys to use a hair dryer regularly. His toxic trait is putting his hat back on before his hair is completely dry, making the hair at the top of his head kind of stringy and limp most times.

Hyrule - Listen. Med school makes you a very versatile showerer. Hyrule has literally no preference for taking a morning or an evening shower anymore. Whenever he's awake enough and has enough time to spare is when he does it. He functions best with nighttime showers because it gives him ample time in the mornings to have his coffee and a slow wake-up. Rulie's hair is naturally curly, so his haircare routine is different from most. He actually doesn't use shampoo at all. He conditions every day, sometimes two rounds if he makes his little scalp scrub with brown sugar. He does a quick blind shower-shave and prefers a loofah. His toxic trait used to be towel-drying his hair until Warriors made him swear to never do it again. Now he wisely lets it air dry.

Four - Mister Nevernude showers before dinner since his work can get him fairly messy. At the very least, soldering leaves an awful smell in your hair. He's another user of cheap drugstore shampoo, he's not fond of conditioner, and is a bar-of-soap kind of guy. He used to take lightning-fast showers in the beginning until he really settled in to the house, and now he's in there for a more reasonable 10 minutes or so. He goes in fully clothed, he comes out fully clothed. Like Twilight, he unfortunately uses the same towel all week. He only has one, really, and just throws it in the laundry together with the rest of his clothing.

Wind - He is, unfortunately, not a daily showerer. He might go every other or even every third day, depending. That's only if he's shut in his room for a day or three, though. There's enough Axe body spray to make up for those days, at least in his mind. If he's going out, he has the sense to wash. He prefers coconut-scented products, uses a combination shampoo/conditioner product, and rarely remembers to replenish his body wash at the store so commonly chooses from some of his roommate's. He doesn't shave religiously but his facial fuzz is still fine and blonde, so it's not the worst.

who is your personal favorite pairing/couple out of all of st0rmyverse fics or do you have a ranking of favorites

My favorite pairing really depends on the day, honestly. I go to one or another when I'm really craving writing love and sex from a certain angle.

In LMTCOY/HSH...

WarrTime is my favorite toxic relationship turning legit. In the beginning they were using one another as a self-flagellation of sorts. Now, they've seen exactly what's wrong with the other and, shockingly, both of them have independently decided "I can fix him." The more I explore their relationship in (unpublished) work, they've become more of a stable, mature same-sex relationship, although the sex is still incendiary.

WildTime is always my go-to for "I want to rot my teeth out with fluff." Every time they have sex is like the first time, and Wild keeps Time undeniably young.

Twark is my "baby gay with infallible support from an unlikely source" pairing. Twi is curious and exploratory and is going to make some mistakes, and Dark is both going to enable him and going to be there to help catch him when he stumbles. I also just reaaaally really love writing Dark, no matter the AU.

Legend/Hyrule is good for exploring the comfort of commitment to another person, especially when it comes to exploring new and/or unlikely kinks.

Four/Shadow are honestly a pairing that is quietly dear to my heart. Shadow knows more about Four's past than anyone else, and he is a supportive rock who keeps Four's needs and boundaries at the forefront of their relationship. It might not seem like Shadow gets a lot back in return for this at first glance but, well, love is patient.

Champlight, once I really get going writing them, also goes through a sweet arc of mutual pining and questioning and considering one another from across a room crowded with friends and loved ones who are just like "Get ON WITH IT already!!!"

In the omegaverse series...

I literally cannot get enough of Sky/Time. I CANNOT. Sky is going through a period of intense rehabilitation and healing and learning to trust again, and who better than Time to gently guide him through it? Similarly...

Sky and Wild are such opposites in this AU that, naturally, they're going to attract. Wild might seem promiscuous and carefree, but his feelings toward Sky are stronger than he lets on. We'll see more of this in later chapters and stories.

And in this AU, Warrlight + Wild is probably my #1 for pairings where shit's about to get INTERESTING. And not only because Warriors and Twilight are about to turn hard and fast the wrong way down a one-way street.

And, of course, the poly boys Sky, Twi, and Warriors (+ Sun) are the best for gentle exploration and unconditional love. Their relationship, at its core, is so innocent and wholehearted that it's hard not to adore them. They're another one I turn to for tooth-rotting fluff.

directors cut on LMTCOY Four s'il vous plaît😭🙏I love him so much

LMTCOY Four is asexual. Whenever I write him in this story is when handfuls of apologetic complaints and the occasional death threat show up in my inbox. It's super fun and makes writing him so rewarding for me. /sarcasm

Anyway, fuck the haters. Four was an ancillary character to the LMTCOY series all up until Twilight and Dark got together, unlocking a whole 'nother half of the cast that I'd never considered before. Four shows up more often now thanks to Shadow's involvement with Dark. Four and Shadow met one another well before the events of HSH, and Shadow knows more about Four than he'd want any of the roommates to know about him. Their relationship hinges on playful antagonism that sometimes doesn't seem so playful. Four has to play fucking 4D chess anytime he wants to get anything from Shadow (e.g. don't give him your real ice pop flavor preference).

Still, there are hints that their relationship toes the line of what would be considered strictly platonic. Although maybe it's all in the others' heads. From the first part of the Igneous Voe chapter:

The blonde behind the ticketing counter [Four] regarded Time from the corner of his eye. He sat cross-legged on one of the rocks, elbows resting on his knees as he slouched forward. A hand-rolled spliff twitched on his lips. He turned away and leaned in, in, in until his cigarette met the lit end of his companion’s, who was a veritable carbon copy of himself. The other young man’s black hair brushed just above his shoulders and was held back with a similar headband.  Four’s eyes slipped closed as the two of them inhaled together. Warm embers grew between them, eating away at tobacco and paper much faster than if they weren’t pressed together. Neither of them touched the other, and still Time felt like he should look away. 

I have a lot of fun being nonspecific about the nature of Four's relationship with Shadow, so don't expect any firm calls in that arena.

Although asexual, Four is not strictly sex-repulsed. He's averse to physical touch in most encounters, which makes intimacy challenging, but he does let down his walls in certain circumstances and only for those he really, deeply trusts. And Shadow, despite ragging on him in so many other ways, respects this, because he has some insight into why. So far it's best shown in the LMTCOY vampire AU, Blood Lust, where Four acts as Shadow's bleeder.

[Four] breathed through the pain, feeling his pulse thrumming in his skull, in the side of his throat, as Shadow’s lips closed against his skin. That was the part that always made him resist the urge to squirm away each time. When the strings of Shadow’s hoodie slid down and tapped Four’s bare shoulder, he flinched. Shadow reached down right away to retrieve the errant cords and tuck them into the neck of his clothes. Other than his lips and teeth, nothing else of Shadow touched him, not even the strands of his hair, not the whisper of breath. Four could feel the weight of him on the bed, and that was enough. 

Four is indirectly involved with Dark, Twilight, and Shadow in a later chapter of LMTCOY in which, as Miniscrew so brilliantly pointed out, Dark outsources dom duty to Shadow because he's just not interested to do it. Four would normally never get roped into Shadow's side gig like this, but it's their friends, and Four is a little worried about Twilight getting in over his head, even if he'd never admit as much aloud. Shadow goes as far as to block Four's view, assuming that Twilight and Dark's 'finale' isn't something Four would be interested in witnessing.

But maybe Shads was wrong in that. There is a follow-up chapter I toy with now and then that gives our favorite mechanic the chance to get a little bit more... involved, we'll say, with their friends.

“I think I want to touch your dick.” It was one of those statements that Four blurted out of nowhere. They happened now and then, usually after hours to days of pensive silence while he turned something over in his mind. Sometimes he waited for an opportune moment to bring up such things. Others, well… On the other side of the couch, Dark choked on his beer mid-swig. He set the bottle back down on the coffee table and turned away from the others, coughing loudly into his elbow. To Four’s left and seated in the armchair, Shadow mumbled an oath under his breath as he set his controller down in his lap and put his head in his hands. He had known something was up—Four had been ‘off’ for days now—but gods above, he didn’t think it was that. Twilight, seated on the center couch cushion, was the only one who thought to pause their game. He turned to look at Four, who was staring directly at him. Twilight’s eyes were bright and questioning and clueless. “I’m sorry, who were you—” “You,” Four answered simply. “Oh.” Twilight blinked. Next to him, Dark slowly sat back on the couch, a sly smile on his face as he looked between the awkward pair. “I think I want to touch your dick,” Four reiterated. Simple, direct, leaving no room for question.  “Oh, sweet Lolia,” Shadow muttered, tossing his controller aside as he stood and retreated toward the kitchen. “No!!” Dark barked, picking up one of his discarded socks from the floor and whipping it in Shadow’s direction. “You get back here!! We’re gonna discuss this together! Like a family!!”

When it gets finished and published depends on how involved I get in the, uh, events that follow. And this in no way erases Four's asexuality. But I think that he deserves to explore sex if he wants to, both in his own time and in his own way, with people that he trusts.

I know lmtcoy is mostly about the sex, but is there a chance you’d write more about Twilight and his family? I guess this question could extend to the larger hsh-verse, as well. Specifically I’m wondering if there’s a chance Colin will ever show up. (I’ve been thinking about twilight princess a lot lately, I just got a copy of the game and have been playing it for the first time lol)

For the uninitiated: in HSH, Colin is Twilight's younger brother. Colin suffered frequent illnesses during his youth, and Twilight spend a lot of time in and out of the children's hospital, just waiting and hoping that his little brother would get better. The two of them had always been very, very close.

Since Twilight left Ordon, he speaks to his parents rarely and they hardly ever let him talk to Colin. There's always some excuse whenever Twilight is on the phone. Someday Colin will be old enough to have his own phone, and then the two of them will be texting every day.

To answer your question: yes, the WIP with the working title Twi's Parents Suck is the one that explores some of his relationship with his family. It's still pending and now features an outline, should be three chapters. My hope is to publish early in 2025.

I'm sorry you're having a bad brain day!! :(( This might seem totally out of nowhere, but I've always wondered how Townhouse Time and Omega Sky would interact. Lets completely ignore how they would ever meet (unless that sounds like fun of course) but do you think a relationship could be had there? Romantically, sexually, both or neither? I could see Sky being interested in learning BDSM as a way to cope with what happened to him (which I've seen a few times in the community) but I could also see him being COMPLETELY turned off by the idea if he ever somehow found out Time did that sort of thing. Like walking in on him and Wars which, YIKES, Sky would likely immediately assume the worst there!

So this was an incredibly fun brain exercise! Because my knee jerk reaction is "omg absolutely never." But I wanted to give it a chance, so I dug in a bit.

So if o!Sky is introduced to the household, there are going to be a lot of omegaverse communication and cultural norms that will be plainly lacking. But Sky is still going to pick up on some things more easily than a normal outsider would.

First, the denizens of the townhouse all respond to Time with some level of deference and respect. For many, like Twilight and Hyrule, it's obvious. For others, like Legend or Wind, even if their interactions are more casual they still speak to Time with much more respect than they do their peers. So picking him out as the 'leader' type is a no-brainer.

Time's two main partners in the home, Wild and Warriors, really couldn't be more different. But Warriors is a frequent and vociferous bed partner who never shies away from Time one bit. And Wild, who clearly could never hurt a fly and bruises like a late summer peach, is as smitten as can be with him. Which lays out the second point: Time is a versatile lover who can not only treat Wild with the gentleness he needs but can tame Warriors as much as one can claim to tame him and keep him satisfied, too.

The catch here, though, is that Time doesn't go and seek out his partners. He's the one who is approached by others. And I just can't picture Sky approaching him for that sort of thing, even with his observations about the rest of the house. Nor could I EVER see o!Sky being comfortable with bondage of any sort. He might like to play "keep your hands to yourself" and lie with them behind his back or crossed above his head, but keeping his freedom of movement is important to Sky, especially in the act.

So, although my answer is to never say never, I struggle to come up with a catalyst that would see o!Sky and LMTCOY!Time sharing a bed with one another.

What would the boy's reactions be to getting caught in the act?

Oooo fun ask is fun!! This is assuming that they get caught in their own space. Under the cut for hints at spice.

Twilight - This would be the whole blushing, stammering, cursing-under-your breath tornado of bedsheets as Twi and his partner are struggling to find their clothes and Twilight is already shouting profuse apologies. For having sex in his own bed. And someone walking in on them. The crimson shame in his cheeks is probably going to take 24 hours to fade completely.

Wild - There's a momentary gasp, a clutching at the sheets to cover his chest, and then a peal of nervous laughter. Wild would only really feel shame if he got caught in a public area of the house; if this was in his own bedroom, he'd just throw a pillow playfully and either ask his roommate to get lost or tease that they should join in.

Champion - He's out of that bed and at the door faster than anyone can blink, completely in the buff, and whoever knocked better protect their neck quick.

Warriors - There is no pause. There is barely any acknowledgment other than Warriors looking toward the door to see who stumbled in. He's not even going to wipe the starry-eyed look off of his face. He's going to keep fucking going, so either get lost or make the most of it.

Sky - Assuming he's with his Sunny, Sky is going to react much like Champion although far less in-your-face. His first priority is to cover his princess to protect her modesty, and then he's going to get into a livid shouting match with whoever just barged in on them, chasing them out into the hall with something wrapped around his waist.

Legend and Hyrule - Both of them are going to freeze stiff in the middle of the act and stare down whoever just opened the door. There's a split second of calculation -- Are they going to go away? Are they going to crack a joke? -- and if their intruder chooses violence, Hyrule's going to cover himself up to his hairline and Legend is going to launch into a tirade of expletives the likes of which haven't been strung together since the age of pirates. You bet your ass he's putting a hex on that person during the new moon.

Four - Catching him in a rare intimate moment isn't going to be good. Please, please don't do it. It takes a lot for Four to let down his walls enough to let Shadow someone in like that, and having their privacy interrupted is going to have him quietly clamming up for 36 hours at minimum. There will be a lot of avoiding eye contact for the rest of the day and any offered apologies will just kind of be waved away. Four's locking his door and setting something heavy in front of it for the next week.

Wind - He's not facing his door when he's caught in the (solo) act, and those big headphones mean that he's not really going to catch on too quick, either. He's going to double-take when the light in the room changes, and then his voice is going to break as he's screaming and throwing his headphones off and hurrying to cover back up. But you've probably already gotten an eye-full from the screens in the room. His string of curses rivals Legend's, and you can bet he's trading some rupees with said medium later that day in exchange for a hex or two. Legend talks him down to a protective ward instead.

Time - We've seen this, actually, in LMTCOY. Time's first instinct is to protect, covering his partner bodily as he sizes up whether this is a threat or just an honest mistake. He's not shy about his state of undress, and if he's going to get up to chew somebody out they'd better be ready to get an eyeful of everything. This is his room, this is their mistake, and when this man gets yelling he can strike to fear of the gods in to just about anyone.

Dark - Get ready for the money shot, babey. Dark loves having an audience.
