Alrighty so, long post lmao

Its decently common knowledge that the three clones from duplicatnation all represent different character traits. But the thing that’s so fascinating and makes all three of them so important is that the character traits that are established are the same character traits that are exploited by the antagonists.

I’m going to go through and explain what each character trait is, how it’s important(how it’s been exploited), and the foreshadowing that the clone established all the way back in episode two.

First let’s start with the delivery clone. Delivery is lazy, gluttonous, and just an overall slob. And he represents the thing that Mk hates most about himself and tends to focus on a lot, his uselessness. This is majorly exploited by LBD and Macaque who both either enforce this fear or make it worse. Delivery doesn’t really have any major foreshadowing besides establishing that Mk can be lazy, and this that trait can be exploited.

Artist on the other hand is Delivery’s antithesis, he is passionate, low-key evil, hard working, crafty, completely of his rocker, and an overachieving perfectionist. He goes to great lengths to achieve his goals of perfection (these goals are obviously impossible but let’s ignore that for now). He’s not lazy or a slob, he’s kind of messy sure, but he’s dedicated to his craft and will stop at nothing to get better. This is what drives Mk to even seek out Macaque’s training in episode nine, the drive for perfection and improvement. Artist is the part of Mk that motivates him to be greater. I’m going to include the major ‘foreshadowing’ for Artist later because this is partially speculation and me theorizing.

Last but certainly not least is Porty clone. Porty clone is the most ambitiously evil of the three clones, securing a pretty bomb-ass porty that no one can leave. No one. They can’t even sleep because that still counts as (mentally) leaving the porty. Porty goes to great lengths to ensure that the porty-goers stay, it’s unknown what happened to the other porty-goers besides Mei but we can assume maybe they suffered what would have been her fate (if you want to go for a darker route) or they are tied up unconscious in a supply closet somewhere (maybe even escaped? What happened to the rest of the porty-goers?). And Porty does all this so that no one leaves, because he represents Mk’s fear of abandonment, and the lengths his willing to go to to prove that he’s worth not abandoning. And this also why Mk summons Porty the most, because Porty is willing to go to great lengths to prove that he’s useful, something Mk struggles with proving to himself greatly. And he establishes this early on as very wonderfully subtle foreshadowing that Mk wasn’t all okay from the very beginning.

Now for some speculation and the insane ramblings of a mad person. I mentioned in both Artist’s and Porty’s paragraphs that they were both evil. And this is foreshadowing for what I think is going to happen in either season five or season 6 (season five acting as buildup). it’s agreed upon by both Macaque and SWK during the beach scene that this was the calm before the storm (a terrifying implication considering that Azure almost destroyed the universe on accident). What I think is going to happen is an Mk villain arc and I think the fact that 2/3 of the clones he summoned all the way back in episode two is some genius foreshadowing. And then also these two scenes here

The entire fight with the scrolls curse it was leaning hard into Mk being nothing but a source of chaos and destruction. A bringer of pain and hurt to both himself and to others. Even going as far as to give him the title ‘Harbinger of Chaos’. And then the scene where Yellowtusk says he “finally knows what true hero’s look like” just to show a shot of everyone except for Mk.

The show is leaning pretty hard into foreshadowing some kind of villain arc for Mk. I don’t believe he’s going to have an insane villain arc where he starts committing genocide or something along those lines but he’s definitely going to start causing problems, but I highly doubt it’s going to be permanent. Mainly because this is a kids show but also because of Porty. Porty represents Mk’s fear of abandonment, and who better to abandon than the person causing a metric fuck ton of problems? And then also Porty has been for the most part redeemed of his shitty actions back in ep. 2. Season four has made it pretty obvious to the other members of the cast that Mk needs help and isn’t okay, and I believe that Porty having this really small and seemingly insignificant redemption arc means a really good thing for Mk.

Anyways this might just be me reading into things way too hard or I’m the smartest person in my room. It’s probably the former but I’m going to celebrate so hard if I’m right.
