My name is Kat, I’m bisexual. All my hobbies are pretty solo, like art, cooking, hiking, jewelry-making, listening to music and watching movies. I’m into old cinema, animals, and just hanging out in nature. My dislikes include loud noises and big crowds.

In a partner I’m interested in just as chilled-out as I am. Someone who’s a bit of a homebody so they don’t mind winding down instead of going out. I. Am. Going to assign you with a very rare pairing for the x reader community (that I've seen) Tang x You x Pigsy Pigsy and Tang bring to mind a very calm, domestic relationship. Tang (in my headcanons at least) has AuDHD so he definitely understands not liking loud noises or big crowds, and has a penchant for finding the quieter places where you both can read a nice book.

Tang and Pigsy both, to me, seem like men who would prefer a quiet evening at home. Maybe Tang's in Pigsy's lap while you're in his and the both of you just enjoy some rare peace and quiet. Pigsy's got his arms around you both as you watch some of your favorite movies.

I can see you and Pigsy sharing the kitchen for some casual cooking, maybe you both together make meals! You might also have a cute thing where he cooks you something special and you do so in return.

I personally like to thing Tang's contribution to the cooking is packing the both of you lunches with encouraging love notes inside.

As for the outdoors, I mentioned before I think Tang would be perfectly fine with being out in nature, especially if he's allowed to bring a book. Just let Pigsy pack some food and you can even make a peaceful picnic of it that ends with all three of you snuggling and napping underneath a tree.

Summaries:

So Tang, excited about getting some first hand accounts of the JTTW now that he knows about the library, takes a bunch of Tripitaka's writing, including this diary back to the city and his work at the museum. He and his coworkers get busting on translating it and writing it down and Tang starts making a book. One day, however, his book is published. By him, supposedly. Tang has no idea how bc it's not finished yet but the main thing that draws *everyone*'s attention is the fact that Tripitaka's entire writings on Wukong is in that. Including the untranslated diary. And none of it is good

After the events of Lady Bone Demon, it's kindly but firmly suggested by everyone that Qi Xiaotian takes a break. He and Long Xiaojiao (Red dragged into it) decide to use this break to fix up the ancient monkey village.

College AU: Cole's life is going to shit. Nya and Jay have been acting weird around him since that carnival game decided that he was Nya's soulmate. Hoping to ease the tension, he asks the cute waiter at his favorite restaurant to act as his fake date on a double date with Nya and Jay. The waiter's only stipulation? As long as I’ve been on Tumblr I have seen posts talking about how undervalued women are in fandom, and I’ve nodded along, reblogged and moved on with my life. Occasionally I’ve tried to figure out how one would solve this problem at least in their own fandom experiences, and I’ve never had an answer, but today I am here to tell you: the answer is Mei. 

I’m 100% joking, but also so serious. Mei is the most undervalued character in lmk and she deserves so much more love. She is the only girl in the main cast (I’m counting red son as a boy because that’s what he is in cannon) and she has so many cool things about her. She’s literally descended from dragons, she has a complex relationship with her parents, trouble sharing her feelings and asking for help, and she HOSTED LITERAL WORLD ENDING FLAMES, but when you look at her followers on tumblr you’d think she doesn’t do much.

Before I carry on with all this data analysis I want to say that I’m not shaming any specific people for not being particularly interested in Mei. The important thing when it comes to biases isn’t one specific case it’s trends, so it’s not about whether you like Mei, it's about whether you have a tendency to think guy characters are more interesting to talk about them more. 

Anyways, when you look at Ao3 tags you may think that Mei has just as many fics about her as a lot of the main cast (minus the main character and the gay monkeys of course), but when you filter for fics tagged with Mei in them you’ll find a frustrating amount that have her as a supporting character or worse mentioned that one time. The thing about tagging characters is you’re not saying the fic is about them you’re saying the fic has them as part of the plot, and so most of her popularity comes from being an amazing best friend, matchmaker and a party animal instead of any of her internal conflicts.

To find fics that were actually about Mei (to some degree) I filtered for the tags Mei-centric and Mei Needs a Hug,and the results were much different. Mei’s number of fics is around how many Tang has. She has 10 more Needs a Hug fics than him, and he has 10 more -centric fics than her. The only character she’s beating out is Pigsy whose -centric tag doesn’t even have it’s own page yet.

Probably the most popular aspect of fandom (for better or worse) is shipping, and there’s a surprising lack of shippable characters in lmk. With the brotherhood and older demons there’s some variation, but for the stoplight trio they really only have each other (at least from what I’ve seen), and when you look at the popularity (on Ao3) of the different ships the results are… decisive. The most popular ship in the trio is MK/Red Son and the runner up Mei/Red Son has only 1/5 of the fics. I personally only really like MK/Red SOn and the whole trio shipped together (poly ships aren’t as popular), but I’m still surprised that Mei/Red Son, which is the one most supported by cannon in my opinion, is so much less popular. 

Unlike the others this isn’t really me saying Mei absolutely should be shipped more, but shipping is pretty much always correlated to how popular a character is in fandom so I thought it was worth mentioning.

I don’t really know what to say at the end of this. I’m not much of a analyzer or a headcanoner. I don’t know how to delta every interesting thing I love about her. Please just take a second to appreciate Mei and all that she’s been through. Maybe partake in Mei thursday every once and awhile or just talk about her more. I don’t know, I just wanted to make a bunch of graphs about it. (Thank you @mythicalmagical-monkeyman for inspiring this <3)

Interests: She’s a bookworm, generally spending her time in solitude either in libraries or out in nature. She’s socially awkward and can come off as cold to those she doesn’t know well. When she’s around those she calls friends, the time is spent in silent company, sharing idle gossip, or playing strategy games.

As matchmaker I hereby place Jia Li with Tang! Tang strikes me as the type of man who also doesn't prefer large crowds, and nature certainly is a relaxing place to read or spend time with oneself. Silence while hanging out doesn't bother him at all, it's a preference, really.

Tang's also used to being a paternal figure for MK and Mei, someone who's used to being a confidant and providing solutions to problems. He's the last guy in the world to judge you, he understands that everyone's lives and situations are different. Tang also knows just how to lighten the mood when you need it.

I imagine if he notices you're down he'll grab your favorite snack and try to cheer you up a bit before he asks what's wrong. He'll listen, then think for a bit and try to come up with the best solutions he can think of. If Jia Li just wants to vent, he'll listen attentively as any good friend (or boyfriend) should.

If she wants a way to calm down, Tang will totally pack up some snacks and take her out to a nice, secluded spot in the wilderness to teach her how to meditate. His personal favorite way of meditation is meditative yoga, but he gets that it's not for everyone if she doesn't feel up to it. Sometimes you just need to focus on the sounds of nature while letting go of your worldly worries and woes!

After SWK meets him and it's decided yes this is out kid, no we don't know where he came from SWK decides to take him to make his uncles. Mac is annoyed he still doesn’t like them but

MK: 'Hey come on he got to hang out with your friend for ages I want him to meet mine'

All of them are shocked 'Oh my gods he's a parent' and the horror that comes with this idea.

Tripitaka also gets annoyed at SWK when he realises who the six eared Macaque was and gives the don't kill people speech to SWK and also wants to meet his brother-in-law when the others not trying to kill him.

MK is overwhelmed as it's all the heroes form JTTW and also so similar to Sandy, Pigsy and Tang but not....MK also starts matchmaking Bajie and Tang because it's so similar to Pigsy and Tang before they got together... it's painful and obvious.
