Happy belated birthday, Jacob Cromwell!

In celebration (?), I thought I'd salute one of my personal favorite headcanons about Jacob that I haven't had much of a chance to explore...namely, that Jacob shared a dormroom with the one, the only Gilderoy Lockhart!

Yes, as you can imagine, Jacob hated Lockhart's bloody guts. 😂

Really, though, it wasn't hard for Jacob to hate Lockhart when that "toothy prat" would act like the smartest guy in the room and yet cowardly avoid any challenges or duels that could contradict that overly shiny self-image Lockhart had of himself. Old Gilderoy was also prone to grab more attention from female students than Jacob did, even with his ridiculously puffed-up ego, for his good looks and (marginally) better people skills. Oh yeah -- and then there was Lockhart's attempt to marginalize Jacob, Duncan, and Olivia's hard work dealing with the Cursed Vaults terrorizing Hogwarts by acting like he'd suspected how to break each curse all along and (even more insultingly) insinuating that it was really him who'd instructed the three Cursebreakers in the methods they'd used to break them. Lockhart even brashly reiterated this one infamous Valentine's Day in his and the Trio's fifth year when he received 800 Valentine's cards and presents (which, as it turned out, were all from Lockhart to himself) --

" -- such beautiful gifts and cards! No doubt from fans both across and outside Hogwarts itself! They must've heard of my heroic efforts toward helping break the curses on the Cursed Vaults! Taught Duncan Ashe everything he knows about puzzle solving...and poor Miss Green was clueless in dealing with those boggarts until I showed her the proper method! And those Acromantula, ho ho...I daresay our favorite Cursebreakers would've been helpless in communicating with those beasts, if it weren't for me teaching Jacob some basic phrases..."

Even if his friends successfully held Jacob back physically, they didn't stop him from verbally tearing into Lockhart.

"'TAUGHT ME SOME PHRASES?!' Acromantula are capable of HUMAN SPEECH, you brain-dead numpty!"

Ultimately Lockhart's little stunt came to an end when the Great Hall had to be cleared of students so the teachers could properly deal with the 800 owls and their 800 packages and letters cluttering up the room. Lockhart's interest in stealing credit for dealing with the Cursed Vaults waned for a short time after Olivia's disappearance, Duncan's death, and Jacob's expulsion, but came back in full when Jacob's sister Carewyn likewise had to deal with them. Fortunately Lockhart failed to collect enough information about Carewyn's adventures to take credit for them and was forced to retreat with a very basic Memory Charm as his goodbye before she or her date Andre Egwu could put together his true intentions. And more fortunately still, about six years later, Lockhart got his just desserts when all of the lies he told to score cheap fame and success came to light.

No one was more pleased when the world finally conjured up enough brain cells to see Lockhart for the idiot and fraud he was than Jacob Cromwell. And ironically enough, the world had also finally conjured up enough brain cells to see for who Jacob really was by then -- not a delinquent as so many had presumed for so long, but an eccentric, brilliant wizard with iron-clad loyalty, incredible magical talent, and a heart as brave as Lockhart's is cowardly.

okay okay so first off: this all starts when nameless bard is Still Recovering from his Life-Threatening injuries. (actually, BOTH amos and and nb are recovering!)

so now when rag and gunnhildr get into a fight that venti cannot mediate they just 😦✌️to nb’s tent. rag always ends up dragging them back to Wherever the crew has set up shop but somehow venti always ends up back at nb’s side…..

trying to remember what i named nb in this au. it might’ve been cecil again……. hmm……..

actually vito (alive, life) would be so fucking funny—especially since nb and amos nearly die at one point during recovery.

anyways! got off topic a little! back on track….

so. so. ragnvindr has Many Many issues with venti taking vito’s form—most notably, he believes that vito does not want to be an image of worship.

(which. vito Doesn’t want to be, yeah. but, like, he’s never told rag that. a lot of misunderstandings come from rag assuming vito is going to die and putting words into his mouth.

he tries to do something of the same with amos, but stops soon after, because. amos would absolutely try to kick his ass. why he thinks vito won’t, who knows….

venti is very upset about that, because they are vito’s bestie and they know much more about him than anyone else does. ragnvindr hasn’t seen vito have countless breakdowns over the what-ifs and should-beens, he hasn’t seen vito at any low or high of his life up until this point. why does—why does he get ANY say in this matter?

but they keep that to themself, because the group is already so close to falling apart, and they don’t. they don’t want to lose any of them.

to add insult to injury ragnvindr hardly ever visits amos or vito during their recovery. but when he Does, he’s strangely silent throughout it all. during visits to vito, he keeps an intense watch on venti the entire time, even waking up out of a dead sleep so he can continue watching.

venti and gunnhildr are the ones to visit the most, and while gunnhildr visits amos the most, venti tries to give them both equal amounts of attention. they still, ah, do end up coming by vito’s tent more often XD.

mostly to sleep by them. (they can’t go to sleep without vito…)

because of this, venti is actually the first to see when vito awakes. they wake up to a hand running through their hair!

(and then they alert everyone by uprooting every flora in vicinity through the power of unbridled joy—)

so now vito is awake! and when he learns of what the hell has been going on with the other three, he’s very very pissed off!

he has quite a talk with ragnvindr (and a little talk with gunnhildr XD), and they manage to settle things…….. only for an absolute shit-fest to occur when ragnvindr keeps finding problems with venti taking vito’s form.

(also venti once entertained vito by taking many different forms and when vito asked them if they could look exactly the same, they kinda maybe completely forgot to change back—

um. yeah. that did not go well…….)

anyways so gunnhildr worships barbatos, vito is okay with barbatos because of the fact that venti is his friend, and ragnvindr does not like barbatos. (amos is still fighting for her life. tfw ur god lover took all the air out your lungs and fucked up your veins and nerves trying to take you out with him.)

but, as vito once puts it: “would you rather it be someone else, say, another decarabian? i imagine that andrius fellow would’ve made such an Amazing god, huh.”

hm. then again, ragnvindr tells vito he better be prepared to kill venti if they ever start to become like decarabian.

I feel like he wouldn't be very scared or jumpy ??!! You call him a psycho bc you're screaming at every jumpscare and he is just laughing at you ??! What the hell??

You ask him if he likes horror games or something and he says “Not at all, I even hate scary movies.. but I don't find them scary, just gross” Like he’s grossed out by gore more than he finds it scary

So when you play this horror game which just involves hiding from a monster, he's not scared at all, he's just laughing at you. >:(

Until... all of a sudden there's a cutscene, where the monster does something reeeeally creepy, say takes on a new, scarier form

Afterwards he goes quiet, but he keeps playing

Suddenly after playing for a little longer you just hear him really quietly gasp out of shock- he finally got killed by the monster

she's just won a round in her little booth, and she's waiting for a new challenger to approach her. she's tipsy, relaxed, a hundred coins richer than when she entered the bar, and best of all, she's got you in her lap, scratching her scalp as she entertains you.

you're fucking enchanted with her, hypnotized with her skilled hands, loving the sweet, childlike look in her eye as she shows off.

"this is the classic riffle..." she says, "and then from here you can go into your fancier shuffles; bridges..." she shows off the move, "waterfalls... the faro... this one's banned in some clubs 'cause you can use it to cheat."

"oh, yeah?" you ask, not caring at all, but absolutely loving the sparkle in sevika's eye when you ask the question.

"yeah! 'cause it's a perfect interwoven shuffle-- so if you do it properly enough times you re-set the deck."

"'s it banned here?" you ask. she nods.

"yeah, but the idiots i play against are too stupid to realize when i use it." she whispers. you cackle, and sevika smirks. "this one's called the tenor..." she continues.

you have to bite your lip a little as you watch her big, strong hands, metal and flesh alike, dexterously and delicately fling the cards around, not dropping a single card or fumbling once.

sevika's none the wiser to how fucking hot she's making you-- she's lost in her nerdy rambling.

"then you got your table shuffling variations--" sevika drops the deck down onto the table top to demonstrate, but you reach out and grab her hand before she can start.

"sevika..." you whisper. sevika pulls her eyes up from her cards to look at you. "you've got sexy fucking hands." you say. sevika blushes, and you grin, reaching up to swipe your finger over her pink cheeks. "and a pretty face, too."

"sevika!" old billy calls from the front of the bar where he stumbles in. she blinks rapidly, biting her lip in embarrassment before turning to face her friend. "i'm gonna kick your ass tonight, young lady!" he teases, approaching your booth.

sevika gulps, and you giggle, leaning forward to kiss her cheek. "better get your game face on, baby... seems like the man means business." you tease.

billy approaches the booth, smacking sevika's shoulder in a greeting, then bending down to kiss your cheek. "evening ladies." he greets.

"hi billy." you greet as he crawls into his booth.

"fuck's wrong with your face, sevika?" billy asks.

sevika squeaks and passes the cards to billy to let him shuffle, her hands clawing at your hips as she hides her embarrassment behind your shoulder.

you cackle, wave billy's concern away with your hand and pass him a cigarette as sevika tries to get her flustered blush under control.

SKYYYYYY THE BOYYYY!!!! In past comics, Sky has said that playing the harp helps remind him of Zelda, and whatever they are playing seems to give good memories

ALSO ARE WE GONNA TALK ABOUT THE WIND? Throughout the peice there seems to be wind going to the left. You can see this especially in Hyrule. But for Sky, ONLY HE, has a strong wind going to the right. Not sure what that implies but it's cool

I know I've already seen a few things talking about time and how he has the Zora guitar from MM, which I do think it's cool because it implies that Time still has the MM masks on him.

Not much to say about Hyrule, except for the fact you can see the wind I was talking about earlier, and I like the fact that he's playing a recorder, not a Flute, a flute would've gone to the side

Kaitos and Shinichis teams for the PKMN AU!!

ramblings below:

Shinichi, as Conan, is gathering a band of misfits and trouble makers. He originally only had Absol, uninterested in catching other Pokémon. But after getting Scorbunny from Agase a bunch of other Pokémon have been adopting him as their trainer.

⁃ Absol: he’s very protective and always on the watch for disaster, something that follows his trainer everywhere. He’s in charge of keeping the rowdy newbies in check and is stressed about it. Can mega evolve, but it’s something they rarely do since Shinichi is technically supposed to not be around. I imagine he's kept in his Pokeball most of the time so as to not give Shinichi away. ⁃ Scorbunny: she’s given to him so he has a Pokémon to call on as Conan. She’s high energy and childish, always getting herself into trouble and poking her nose where it doesn’t belong. ⁃ Joltik: she doesn’t have much interest in battle, but she can put people to sleep with a bite and has very strong string. She can also sneak tracking devices onto people/things, as well as act as hidden eye during cases. She doesn’t get into much trouble herself, but will gladly encourage Scorbunny to do something dumb in her stead. ⁃ Charcadet: He saw Absol absolutely wreck a dangerous criminal and simply had to join Conan’s team. Idolizes Absol and does his best not to cause him more stress. ⁃ Zorua: she’s connected to a BO case and was saved by Shinichi. She’s incredibly nervous and only seems comfortable around Shinichi. Ends up getting pretty close to Kaitos Zorua who helps her get out of her shell. Trouble magnet, if something can go wrong for her it probably will.

Kaito has very talented Pokémon, all trained to be just as good as he is with his tricks. He originally only had Meowscarada and his Pidoves, but his team had gotten larger since becoming KID.

⁃ Meowscarada: Kaitos reliable partner! He loves magic tricks just as much as his trainer and has a scheming personality to match. ⁃ Gardevoir: She was originally Toichis Pokemon and was left to Kaito with the KID outfit. Doesn’t trust Kaito to begin with, but eventually bonds with him enough that they can mega evolve. She’s talented, but somewhat standoffish. ⁃ Pidove: Kaito has a lot of Pidoves, but his shiny one is the leader of the flock. She’s friendly and happens to be the one Pidove that Shinichi saves, leading to her adoring him. She plays favorites and Kaito is low key offended. ⁃ Zorua: he was caught during a heist. Zoruas main job is to transform into the partner Pokemon of anyone that Kaito is disguising himself as. He’s mischievous and will often wander off. Likes Shinichis Zorua and tries to get her to work on her confidence.

I think both of them would still be so good at their jobs they wouldn’t really rely on Pokemon to get them done. So while they could both totally fill out their teams with helpful ‘mons they don’t need to.

I do think that Kaito would have a Klefki following him around and causing problems by stealing keys and such, but would also be helpful at times as well. He really attracts the mischievous types lmao

It would be funny if no one has seen his Zorua and they just assume KID is some crazy trainer with all sorts of Pokémon to help with his heists. His Zorua would be a master at getaways and not being seen when he doesn’t want to be.

I also played around with giving Kaito a Togekiss! I think it would fit the rumor that no murders happen when KID is doing a heist XD Maybe he eventually can get one, it would be cute to see him raise it from an egg. Kaishin finds the egg together and co-parents it

For Shinichi I don’t have another Pokémon in mind to fill out his team :0 I’d definitely love to hear what you guys think! Maybe a Luxray? Though I also feel that could be better used for a different character. Also definitely considering a Rotom. Could stick it in his voice changer or phone or smth.

Shinichi would be a little new to the whole trainer thing as before he only ever had Absol. Because he’s only ever trained Absol, a super smart and loyal Pokémon that doesn’t cause problems, he’d definitely struggle a bit with his new high energy Scorbunny. They’d bond through playing soccer :]

As for inter-team dynamics, I think their Zoruas would get along. Kaitos Pidove loves Shinichi and would likely get along with his Pokémon as well. Gardevoir and Meowscarada are the two with personality issues and probably are either hesitant to befriend a Detectives Pokemon or actively consider them a rival.

I can see Meowscarada and Absol having a crazy rivalry.

I have a few team ideas for other characters, if you guys wanna hear my take on anyone specific please feel free to send me an ask and I may draw them!! Heiji and Hakuba are two I wanna draw for sure. As well as Sera. I think I’d like to give them all Megas since they’re the main high school detectives and they deserve it lol.

The least amused out of all of them but does take them seriously in the sparing aspect until they just launch themselves at him full force. He doesn't budge what so ever even as they keep trying to knock him flat on his ass.

He just let's them throw themselves at him while he stands there completely done with their nonsense. When they try to goad him to attack he's swift about it pinning them to the floor without harming them. He straddles them and watches them struggle to get out of his hold with a smirk. He waits until his omega tires themselves out before getting off of them and dragging them off to their nest to rest.

Jing Yuan

Might be the only one who takes them a little seriously, his mate should be able to protect themselves after all. The size difference between him and his omega is great but he doesn't underestimate them.

Does give them a proper sparring match but it does take a turn for the silly when his omega literally crashes into him in an attempt to take him down. He can't help but let out a laugh at their futile attempts at knocking him over. He let's them keep trying before finally tackling them himself and toppling them both over in the garden. When they try to escape his grasp he pins them with his whole body while they smack his back to get off of them.

Wriothesley

Is more than just amused but he plays along with them knowing their own strength. He let's his omega tackle him and everything while not budging an inch it's comical. When they try to provoke him to attack he just places a hand on their head while they swing their arms at him. The sight alone makes him laugh a bit as they struggle to attack him properly.

Once he notices his omega getting tired he teases them asking if they've given up already which just gives them more energy to keep trying. When he does get a bit bored watching them flail around he pulls himself back ducks into a crouch and lunges at them. He lifts them up high in the air before twirling the both of them round and round stopping with them tucked under his arm. They flail some more as he lugs their butt to his office so they can have nice cup of tea and maybe a nap.
