#10. What's an au you have for them?

Since them meeting at all is technically an AU i have 3 different ways that they do meet up. There's the one where Juniper ends up with the agency/adjacent to and ends up working with Reggie (have written a fic with this). The next one is Juniper surviving but basically going stealth and living as normal of a life as he can and ending up meeting Reggie through chance (most recent fic I've written). And then there's my personal favourite where Reginald "You're lucky my tracking skills are still up to snuff" Crane keeping himself busy after Phoenix was MIA and finding Juniper still alive (fic I want to write but haven't started mainly because it may end up multi chapter).

In terms of more AU canon bending taking them and putting them in a completely unrelated situation...I have a guilty pleasure Warrior Cats AU for IEYTD in general. Both JJ and Reggie have perfect warrior cats suffixes in their names already (Juniper and Crane) so they're called Junipersong (charcoal bengal) and Craneflight (tabby Norwegian forest cat). It's very silly but the amount of scenes I have in my mind for it...good lord...

oh gosh. i'm not sure, but i know it definitely WILL affect their parenting... i think at first donnie will find himself just... deferring to his partner a LOT in almost any situation because he's afraid that he'll fuck it up, because he DOESN'T feel like he understands proper boundaries or what parenting is supposed to look like, etc etc etc, and he's afraid he'll mess up. he probably reads a TON of parenting books as well because RESEARCH and will often try to pull directly from them in any situation he can, and is confused when things don't go exactly the way they were described in the text... leo i think kind of tends to flounder between being overprotective and feeling the desire to protect his son from everything and anything and wanting to overcorrect this tendency by pulling back and trying to give him as much freedom and space as possible, which sometimes leads to some... inconsistencies. there's definitely a learning curve for both of them, but they both get the hang of it eventually. they both have lovely partners and a very loving and supportive family to help them and they'll figure it out with a bit of practice.

i like to imagine them all staying very close, especially coz i'm loosely planning on them all going through the kraang-apocalypse together (and then coming through to the other side!) so i can't imagine them ever drifting too far from each other, emotionally or geographically. there's a bit of a rocky start for a lot of them, but all of the siblings end up a very tight-knit bunch.

5 — Hercules is a switch. || Very very iffy. 95% of the time he’s a top. Very seldomly will that change. If you ask nicely about his time with Queen Omphale, he might offer a story or two that will raise eyebrows. 

6 — Hercules has a knife under their bed. || More like a sword. Or spear. Or his mace. Or a gun. He has an arsenal of weapons all over his apartment. 

7 — Hercules is awful with kids. || Generally he’s great with kids. Got a soft spot for them, too. He’s probably got kids of his own scattered around the globe, and he very willingly funds his former lovers’ lifestyles (even buys them homes!), but having a relationship with whatever children he’s fathered is a different story. That’s where he’s awful with kids. It’s difficult for him even now to overcome the guilt of what happened to his kids with Megara ages ago. So he’s distant.

Then it was an OoT Zelda in a group, before November 2014 when I turned her indie. I've loved OoT Zelda since I was young, at first, it was solely for her beauty. As I grew older, and began to understand her character, I only loved her more.

I do like action, though I rarely get to write it. I also want to explore her extreme guilt for what happened. Let's be real, the events of OoT happened because *she* decided her dream was prophecy, and set the gears turning. It was, as she even says herself, all her fault. I feel like she's one of the most flawed Zeldas out there. Most of them are selfless, kind, completely devoted to saving everything. While OoT Zelda was similar, she's also very selfish. She sent a total stranger on a quest, she expected him to protect her while she sealed Ganon away, and even in the end. She abused her power over time to create new timelines. She didn't even ask if Link wanted to be sent back to his childhood.

Good intentioned as it was, it was selfish.

ʜᴏᴡ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴜᴘ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴꜱ?

I've made this Zelda my own, really, as we get hardly any adult Zelda canon. We get two legitimate scenes with her, and two small ones. That's it. If an idea comes to me, I'll introspect on it, and if I feel it deserving, make a headcanon post about it.

Tales of Vesperia Blurays

hello to anyone who’s scrolling the vesperia tag! I have finally gone around to digitizing other vesperia materials I possess that aren’t.. really anywhere online. (i may have put this off for at least as early as when I scanned light novel stuff)

anyway. the drive folder im providing includes: the vesperia stage play!!, the 10th anniversary party!!, tales of homeroom: tov edition!!, first strike 2019 bluray version!!

just keep in mind the following: you’ll have to download the things to watch them. you’ll most likely need to watch them through VLC media too. and they’re all unsubbed because translation is really not my forte

if you’re seeing this post and havent in any form completed/seen the game then do beware spoilers being in there, proceed with your own discretion. other than that, have fun! if anyone wants to translate these (they are all RAWs after all) please feel free to :)

that all aside. here’s the Contents (details) :

-Tales of The Stage: Justice of Light and Shadow (2019). Includes disc 1 (the play itself), and disc 2 (bonus content included in the bluray itself. stuff with the actual stage actors and whatnot)

I have so many thoughts on the stage play and i consider it a worthwhile experience! its like a little treat (though the speedrun being done here to get as much main story content covered within 2.5 hours is a sight to behold LMAO) (and even then, the stage play diverts from the main story to a good degree :3c)

-Tales of Vesperia 10th Anniversary Party (2018), also known as the celebratory party that was done live with all the voice actors leading the show! it’s overall very sweet and charming. this includes 2 discs, each containing a recording of 2 different days when the party took place, if that makes sense. any other videos in the folder is the bonus segments included in the bluray too, in a similar fashion to the stage play

-Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~ 10th Anniversary Edition (2019), and Yes, we do have the movie available online, but i figured i could provide the bluray version that you would get if you got the definitive edition of the game in Japan. could make use for some HD screenshots perhaps.

the plus to the new bluray: it INCLUDES a 30 minute skit present on the disc as a bonus. im also providing the menu animation for the bluray since I somehow could rip that too and it looks pretty neat (:

-Tales of Homeroom, the two tales of vesperia episodes that you could only get through, again, the first strike bluray (2019). If you’ve seen some of the tales of HR videos uploaded on youtube, then you’ll know what this is about. if not, no fret! it’s just 2 tiny episodes centered around the vesperia cast on a vacation :)

What's your favorite type of gen fanfiction? mine's grimdark.

I really don't read Gen fanfiction much, but probably suspense/horror maybe? Whatever the fuck Phantom of Truth is (warning for gore, violence, psychological torture, suspense, etc, read the tags lmao). It's an EXCELLENT Danny Phantom fic by Haiju. Love that.

Also, it's not Gen, but Pearl Stranded by SolitudeMoon--this IMMENSELY MASSIVE ficlet is AMAZING. It's uh, also incredibly violent, graphic, gory, and otherwise great. old men with problems — i say “old men” but ig i specifically mean 30+ dudes who are grumpy, irritable, been fucked over by life and are bitter about it. i don’t have AS MANY of these types of characters that i would like bc seriously they’re such a guilty without guilt pleasure for me to write. hya (paramour), don (NAD) and graves (tgwd) are suuuuuch serotonin characters for me i s2g.

large casts — i love complex relationship drama where there’s a multitude of people who influence how characters act and who can change the course of the plot. can’t have drama if there ain’t a lot of people lolol

magic/the supernatural/alt reality/fantasy in some way — i literally only have like (1) story set in completely modern day with no gadgets and gizmos. i don’t like earth as it is tbh and i don’t like being limited to history and current events when i write bc tbh it’s boring to me. i want to be the god of my own universe essentially so like even the most benign wips will have some fantasy elements in them.

queer romance — specifically where being queer does not influence the plot. i want more stories where queer people just fucking exist and their identity isn’t necessarily the main focus of their drama and problems. not to say that i won’t write prejudice or smthn every now and again when it suits me but seriously tired of seeing romance stories where being queer is like the cause of all their trials and tribulations lmao like PLEASE.

emotionally complex men — i’ve noticed a trend in myself where i tend to write men who are emotional, soft, and who are allowed to explore a wide range of emotions juxtaposed by femmes who are for the most part strong heroic and badass & usually don’t need a romance or don’t end up getting with someone most of the time lol. it appeals to the two sides of myself that i feel like need some love; the past girl who was raised weak and wanted to feel strong, and the current man who wants to feel loved, desirable, wanted and allowed to be expressive. so literally if you look at near most of my stories that’s a dynamic you’ll see. but i included emotionally complex men more so bc it’s what’s more important to me. THO i will say it’s not true 100% of the time like i’ll branch out depending on the story/plot but it’s just a trend lofdkdk

First impression: Honestly... I was a little bit terrified! I knew how beloved all of them were and I was waiting for one of them to ruin my life lowkey, so definitely a little terrified

Impression now III: My favorite Arclight, I want to protect him and also let him throw swords at my enemies for the rest of my life and his, I love that's he's the definition "call an ambulance! but not for me!!!!" IV: I hope Thomas IV Arclight is very pissed that Kaito's my favorite Zexal character; surprisingly, even tho he's my kind of crazy, I'm not rly a huge fan of him in canon, but more the idea of him? If that makes sense, like I like him but he ranks surprisingly low compared to most of the cast because I wasn't too big on how his character was handled, sweats nervously V: I love you and I think you’re very a interesting character, but I really want to pull hard on your long beautiful hair sometimes because you have no right, please wear your hair in a braid again though, that was a LOOK Tron: A Yugioh Dad tm, no real feelings one way or another, but I'm glad he came around for his boys, compared to other token parents in this franchise he ranks surprisingly high! I imagine he destroys all three of them in Mario Kart

Favorite moment III: Throwing a whole ass sword at Mr Heartland omfg, WHY DID IT MISS!!!! WE COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED!!!!!!!!! He also was never leaving Yuma's side after Astral sacrificed himself and that's gjdsklagjklgjdsklga IV: I’m torn between his duel with Nasch because he’s just such a freak how he talks sometimes, and I also love how he just… goes all out against a pair of middle schoolers, like there was never a hinge on him to begin with💀 I also love that Thomas is introduced as this celebrity, champion duelist but NEVER wins against a named character that isn't one of Yuma's background friends or in a tag with someone else gjdaskljgdklsaj, accidental cringe king V: I really like the arctic moments, specifically when he makes this face

Tron: Being an absolute menace at the WDC second round party fjdhdhdh, you can just tell he’s the father of the other three

Idea for a story: I have no idea honestly fjehdjje, they’re usually just recurring characters or background in the drafts I have But I do love writing my friends’ oc and canon pairs so they’ll usually get the focus in those, which I gotta finish the Vkou one soon 👁👁👁👁

Unpopular opinion: SWEATS I've never been shy about this fact, but I am not a huge fan of how quickly some of the Arclights' conflicts with the main cast get resolved and that really impacts how I view the Arclights' relationships with the cast gdjsaklg Like it's yugioh and cards/character popularity will always do all of the talking, there's no way you watch yugioh for great character and story writing, but like Rio could have fucking died from her duel with Thomas lmao It makes for some BANGING fanon content and like we get all of the context for why everything happens and for Thomas' motivation and guilt in general, but... if you put someone's sister into a coma in intensive care, I feel like canon should probably do a little bit more than some bickering and dueling with her brother, you know-

Favorite relationship: I do love their family dynamic and how they’re trying to patch it back up, it’s very touching and Michael’s original anguish and resentment towards Yuma’s family is very touching 🥹 III - Michael was in love with Yuma even though he knew it was unrequited, send TWEET IV - What do you mean Momoya isn't canon, she's canon to ME; I'm disgustingly biased but I love how much IV and Kaito just hate each other lmfao Also love what could have been his turbulent friendship with Ryouga, you know they subtweet each other on the daily V - Kousei ofc, what do you mean he's also not canon; I always affectionately refer to Kaito and Chris as divorced I REALLY wish we saw them go through more of the hurdles to get back to ~before~, we only saw a little in the arctic but you know these two are bickering Tron - I need a post canon one shot of how him and Faker work together, I want to be a fly on the wall of the first day

Favorite headcanon: They ALWAYS host dinner parties for the squad, Thomas and Tron need to show off how much better their estate is than the Kamishiro's so they always offer to host

Last I saw they kissed for an oc meme and now I keep seeing you both tagging stuff about their dynamic, feels like I'm overhearing Circle gossip about them lmao

I'm answering this one first because I am still mulling over my Hawke thoughts and Gideon x Rodaine has taken over my whole ass brain for the past few days ajdkdk. Some of this is paraphrased from @gvnseylike bc I also showed her this ask

So it did start out with that meme where it was established that Gideon would kiss Rodaine after asking for his assistance with magic stuff. And then we moved into Tumblr dms, still mulling over the idea of Them and realizing they had some really interesting backstory parallels but like completely opposite beliefs and then it spiraled into discord bc Tumblr dms suck and now our main au of them is:

They were both in Kinloch where Gideon initiated their relationship by demanding that Rodaine tutor him and then proceeding to distract Rodaine from tutoring him by kissing him. -> they are both touch-starved sadboys who quickly fell hard for each other despite their bickering and differences (a little bit rivals to lovers >:3c) -> the events of mage origin occurred except that Gideon was privy to the plan and betrayed them to Greagoir and Irving because he was afraid of Rodaine getting hurt/killed in this escape attempt. -> Rodaine is recruited, they part on bad terms and all of origins happens pretty much as it did in my base playthrough (Including being woth Morrigan and having Kieran). Meanwhile Gideon is transferred to Ostwick where he's mostly thriving but also slightly haunted by losing Rodaine. (Extra haunted by the news of Ostagar and then following his journey closely through news and later A History of the Fifth Blight once he finds out he survived.) -> Awakening also happens as played and including my headspace canon of Rodaine hooking up with Anders on a strictly fwb basis but this time it's more embarrassing because Anders looks an awful lot like Gideon (Rodaine has Type when it comes to men and that type is blond) Anders leaves, but crucially Rodaine *doesn't* go after Morrigan and remains Warden-commander -> Gideon begins writing him letters from Ostwick, and against Rodaine’s better judgment, he replies and they strike up a rapport and remembering when they were in love. And then Rodaine makes a trip to Ostwick (usually on a whim bc Gideon reveals to him that Rodaine’s sister is also there) and ends up bringing Gideon back to Amaranthine with him as court mage bc he still has Feelings and they end up rekindling -> Gideon is invited to the Conclave to speak for the Loyalists and then DAI occurs with him as Inquisitor. Often Rodaine is hanging around Skyhold bc it is fun but also he is sometimes off looking for the cure to the calling and long-distance refereeing arguments between Gideon and Tierce. There Are awkward encounters with Morrigan when Rodaine Is around.

Overall, they're both complete messes and their relationship is fraught with disagreements, deep affection, and the development of an Andrastian kink so convoluted it loops back around from blasphemy to being blessed and condoned by Andraste herself. And I am obsessed with them. I'm sure Cole will let me know if I missed anything important and I Will absolutely be accepting further questions at this time because their dynamic is. Incredibly fun.

How often do Auric and Grimm spend time with Vesla? And what do they usually do (in terms of what activities does Vesla like to do with Auric or Grimm) together? I mean, there’s not much to do in the way of travel since she’s, Y’know, rooted to the ground and all.

Alright, so I've explained it a couple times before, might have been a while back so I'll briefly explain it again. Vesla isn't permanently rooted to the ground. She roots herself in her chambers (a room separate from the room she shares with Auric) for usually around a month, to soak up nutrients and such. Once she's finished, she can leave her chambers and walk (or would it be more of a slither?) around as she pleases for up to two months before she must rest again.

Starting with Grimm, he is generally very preoccupied with travelling, but every time he is in the Hallownest area, he tries to make a visit to the White Palace. His main goal is to see Auric, but considering how Auri pointedly avoids him and/or is a total douche until he leaves, Grimm often ends up hanging with Ves for a few hours. If he catches her at a time in which she's mobile, the two will sometimes walk around the Palace and chat (usually with Dryya tagging along and eyeing Grimm suspiciously the entire time). If she's rooted, he will sit with her and have a nice chat with her about this or that. The two of them mostly spend their time together talking. Vesla especially is excited to hear what Grimm has to say since he's such an avid traveller. She loves to hear about the places he's been and the people he's met. Besides just talking, the two have chilled in the Palace Hot Spring together, and Vesla has even brought Grimm to see the Queen's Gardens quite a few times (she loves them so, and wants him to see how she's cultivated them). Dryya, of course, tags along any time they go anywhere, lmao.

Auric and Vesla's activities together were (keyword: were) very similar to how she spends time with Grimm. They would talk a lot (Auric is a real talker when he's actually interested in the conversation), and she would ask Auric to tell her stories of the places he'd been as a Wyrm (despite being capable of travel, she's not very efficient at it and usually just sort of stays where she is). He would care for her when she rooted, as well, talking to her and visiting her to pour water and fertiliser into her soil. They used to also bathe together quite often, pruning and caring for one another. Most importantly to Vesla, Auric would accompany her to the Queen's Gardens once a year for the New Life Celebration at the spring equinox (to care for her during her mating cycle). They were an inseparable husband and wife team for a while after they were first wed, but as time went on, Auric started drifting away from her. He started locking himself in his meth lab Workshop and not coming out for days. He started brushing off her worries and getting aggressive with her if she pressed. He stopped bathing with her (and altogether honestly, she has to fight tooth and nail to get him into the Hot Spring). He even stopped accompanying her to her Gardens or visiting her in her chambers when she is rooted, justifying it with " 'M busy" and nothing more. Perhaps the hardest thing for her was regarding their children. Ever since they were wed, she wanted to be a mother. More than anything, she wanted to care for and nurture babies of her own. Auric refused her children (he is a huge tokophobe and also never wanted to be a father). And, well, when he finally gave in and allowed her children, he kind of chucked them into a hole. Husband of the year award, everybody. /s In current time (when the main AU fic I want to write eventually starts), he has not spoken to her or seen her in two months. Dryya has taken up all of his duties in caring for her (Dryya waters her, spends time with her, accompanies her to her Gardens during her mating cycle), and Ves has been rooted for an unnaturally long time. Essentially, their Union is on thin ice.
