Real Animated Pets - Goat, Sheep and Llama

This project is our fruit of labour with @deedee-sims. I was looking for a way to have more "alive" pets in Sims 2 and approached DeeDee. Luckily for all of us, she liked the idea and helped me out with the most difficult parts. This project would not be possible without you, thank you DeeDee ❤️

From the technical point of view all animals are custom collars for large dogs (and only large dogs). In order for them to work as on previews, you need to assign your dog a transparent fur (a brand new creation by DeeDee that makes dogs' fur completely invisible, included in the archive) and then pick an animal skin you want from the collar section. If you'd like to change the appearance of an existing large dog, be sure to buy it a desired collar on a community lot first! Dog's breed is also important, it can make chubbier or thinner animals. If your fur doesn't look completely transparent, be sure to uncheck all the fur accessories. I'd recommend using a default white no name breed (looks best with animations).

Swatches:

We (especially DeeDee! ❤️) did our best making new animals move as smoothly as possible, but be aware that clipping is still present in certain animations. Also, these animals behave and sound like normal dogs. Hopefully we'll find a way to mute them in the future.

Animals come with a set of objects that are more appropriate for farm animals - new bed, toy, 2 "bowls" and deco hay. Objects have morphs and dirty states. Note that the feeders works like a pet bowl meaning they will randomly rotate but it won't prevent pets from eating normally.

All animals come with original Sims 4 textures (1024x1024 for llama and 512x512 for goat and sheep), converted and tweaked by me. Animal colors are separated so you can pick and choose only the ones you want. Collection file for objects is included. I also recommend these and these Uldum rug add-ons (if you want other sizes for the hay overlay).

Fixed toy's thumbnail - it's no longer empty. Added a custom version for the hay rug, I'd recommend using a custom rug rather than ULDUM because it has no outdoor shadow (ULDUM can't be fixed). Updated the collection file to include new rug.

This set is inspired by: early 80s computers, my dad’s office when he taught electrical engineering, and VHS tape artifacts. Many of the pieces in here are stylized versions of real-life things, which I’ve included more info about under the cut.

Technical notes/known issues:

Sims’ hands slightly clip into the computers with angled keyboards; this is not something I can fix due to how the animations are set up.

The computers don’t have mice (they wouldn’t have had them at the time), so the Sims will move their hands around as if they were using an invisible mouse.

The BBC Micro computer has a medium decor slot on top -- perfect for cute plants, books, clutter, etc. In testing, I noticed that if you place something there that trails down the sides, Sims will not want to use the computer (you have to make them sit in the chair and then interact with it). Most items don’t seem to do this so I’m leaving the slot in - just know if you put trailing stuff on top, this might happen.

The cassette recorder has a decor slot in the perfect place to actually put the cassette tape in it, and I love it! I’d recommend picking the cassette tape you want before putting it in; once it’s in the recorder, I couldn’t figure out an easy way to get it out again. You can always delete the whole thing and re-place a cassette recorder.

(I'll preface this with saying the ones I know best are of course TFP, I haven't watched the other shows but I've obsessively been hunting down their clips down just to see more of the Waves™ so um. Hsgdhfb)

P.S. This turned to me headcanonizing how it’d be like to self ship with them so… I mean if you’re interested in that,

I think G1 Soundwave is sooo cute, he's a silly guy and he can turn into a tiny cassette player that fits in your pocket!! (Mass shifting? Whats that??? Never hesrd of him) I imagine him as acting like a schoolboy with a crush with you… waving to you even during intense situations, giving you flowers, being a gentleman… when he sees you it's all bokeh lights and hearts.

Courtesy of llama, I like the thought of cyberverse Soundwave to be a big flirt. He has a nice, warm speaking voice… also I like how much of an intimidating vibe he brings? Like how he postures in front of Windblade in that one scene where she asks him to lower his music and he just makes it louder… his music cutting off when Starscream tries to take over as leader… (again Llama highlighted these to me jkddjf). And through clips (and spoilers jdkf), I know Soundwave does so much in cyberverse, augh (also cyberverse soundrod is such a cute ship)

I know the least about Earthspark, but I’m 👁️ 👁️ latching onto the fact at how betrayed and hurt he sounds when he’s fighting Megatron and the Autobots. The way he goes “Traitor!” when Megatron points his cannon at him… he’s the most loyal decepticon and his leader has turned his back to him, it’s ugehhghghg (Also he fought a WHOLE team of autobots + megatron and managed to be a huge problem for them to deal with? 😳 he STRONG) I like imagining him as a soldier who’s utterly lost in life after his leader left and he doesn’t know how to live with himself. And this is SUPER canon divergent but,,, I like the idea of him latching onto you because you showed him kindness while he’s lost and he takes you… and because of how small you are, he can ensure you’ll never abandon him. (I’m. A bit emotional thinking about headcanons about him ehuhuhhhh)

As for Shockwaves! I know less about them, but I. Am a big fan of TFA Shockwave. I joke with Llama that in TFP Soundwave is the eldritch cryptid, and in TFA that role is filled by Shockwave. I’m just,,,, ahhh,,,, 😍 about how he can disguise himself, AND HIS EYE IS ALWAYS VISIBLE??? THAT’S SO SPOOKY? And he’s one of the most loyal decepticons in it too(?) In terms of self shipping I like imagining him being insane about you and wanting to do highly unethical experiments to you because of how obsessed he is with you… and I love the thought of knowing him as Longarm, while he’s shaking and having to restrain himself from revealing himself there and then and nabbing you,,, heuguhghgh

I like cyberverse Shockwave, I wish he stayed with the same weight and intimidation he has in season 1 (again, only from clips I’ve seen). I don’t have a clear idea of him yet, just know that I like the way he carries himself and how his expression is always [angy]. Also like his spider canon mode.

I like the vibes of G1 and Earthspark Shockwave but I don’t know that much about them yet! G1 looks adorable (what experiments) and Earthspark has a villainous cadence that I really like,, not to mention how incredibly violent he is :) hehe

ON A SIDE NOTE…. I kinda… like their bayverse versions?? A little? 😭 I like that Soundwave growls you’re mine to a girl and kidnaps her and transforms like. That’s what I like to imagine with TFP Soundwave? Also he has the metal tentacles? And Shockwave looks scary and has big worm monster thing… they literally only have like. 5 mins of screentime each and I heard Shockwave was supposed to be a main antagonist in one of them— I’m not a big fan of bayformers but I like imagining a little bit of these concepts applied to the other versions of the Waves kfdjshfldg

im still baffled by the minecraft movie trailer's descision to focus so heavily on the ugly animals. The shot they chose as the "payoff" to the trailer, the first "big reveal" after the establishing shots of the location and characters, was the godawful pink sheep. The scene of the llama just standing there and watching a bunch of piglins run past was so important, apparently, that they devoted an entire 14 seconds of screentime to it, and it doesnt even do anything besides stand there. its positioning makes me thing that this was meant to be the "trailer joke," but its not funny, it doesnt reveal anything, its just the ugly llama standing there and making a stupid face. i don't know why this is, because i cant see anyone under the age of 10 seeing them and feel anything but fear, and preteens are the movie's target audience, so i have no idea why it was so important to place these clips front-and-center. did they think the concept of 'ugly animal' was so funny it would immediately sell everyone on the movie? did they actually think the cgi looked good? it boggles the mind and keeps one up at night.

Okay so…do I like the show? Uhm ngl this show is really good to watch with a friend and just straight up dog on because of how bad it is 💀. Like the animation and art is ass sort, the plot is reused to the point the order of the eps don’t even matter bro. The plot doesn’t even matter tbh because kuzco always learns the same lesson and forgets it the next episode or something like damn bitch are you dumb or do have amnesia?? 💀 he’s actually such an asshole. the racism and sexism doesn’t suprise me and the supposed gr00ming…..ehhhhh….after the first episode…the way he talk to Malina made me uncomfortable 💀 ME THE VIEWER. Like it fest so wrong on so many levels like stop😭 I’m not even jealous I would have liked them had the first ep played out differently than it did💀😭😭. ALSO THATS NOT HOW KUZCO WOULD ACT IF HE HAD FEELINGS FOR SOMEONE LIKE DUDE. Like why is he freak. Ik it’s a spin off but like can you at least make it accurate 💀😭😭. This is after the events of the movie Ik his whole character isn’t gonna change but like also kuzco is ass at flirting and I don’t think he would act so confidently if he actually liked someone like how he’s supposed to like Malina 😭 I feel like he’d be more nervous because it’s not an emotion or feeling he’s felt before or much of. Alright Gravity Falls fandom, we need to talk.

MASSIVE tw for (not always particularly kind) fictional depictions of mental illness, psychosis and hallucinations. General unreality tw, also tw for heavy/realistic gore. This post goes into possible GF crossover/meta content within a fairly graphic live-action tv show.

I’m sure everyone has seen Jason Ritter’s recent monthlong, Book Of Bill -fueled twt roleplay stint where he acted, loudly, as though he was possessed by Bill Cipher.

One problem: I already knew it was Jason Ritter that was possessed, NOT Alex Hirsch… since last fall. And I think y’all need to know why, because… well, you’ll see.

(Disclaimer: I have not seen 99.9% of Gravity Falls, and have never been in the fandom. I have only watched/read the necessary material to make this post.)

The relevant episode here is “Sock Opera”. First of all, this episode establishes that may have been another viable vessel for Bill left behind after the series finale, albeit a charred and torn one.

Puppet Dipper.

Why the fuck does this matter? Well, last fall (premiering on the night of the Harvest Moon no less), edgy meme fodder superhero show The Boys released a spinoff, Gen V, focusing on superheroes in college. One character, named Sam Riordan (don’t get me started on the Riordan thing. His brother’s name was Luke), suffers from vivid hallucinations, and that’s where things get really strange.

Final tw for live-action depiction of psychosis/hallucinations

So… yeah. Jason Ritter, on The Boys*, playing HIMSELF, playing a deranged puppet show host who appears in a boy’s mind to convince him to go on murder sprees.

*the puppets and larger in-universe puppet tv show associated with Jason Ritter’s character have since appeared in the mainstream The Boys universe, so it can be concluded that Jason Ritter exists there as well.

Oh, and when Sam does give into Jason Ritter’s influence (wtf am I even writing rn) this happens:

THATS. CONCERNING

Making all this even weirder, this entire show predates the Book Of Bill’s announcement by two whole months, and Jason Ritter’s recent Hot Triangle Summer by almost nine months.

It also predates Matpat’s ICONIC penultimate theory video by seven months. In that video, Matpat (jokingly, mostly) lays out a “final theory” that Bill

1) Survived (confirmed by Book of Bill)

2) is looking for a way into “our” dimension (also confirmed)

3) has found a new human puppet in…. Alex Hirsch. Now, that’s where I don’t agree. Due to the above clips, I always assumed that if Bill was hiding among the GF crew, it was in Jason’s head.

Also in this video, Matpat attempts to explain the Bill Cipher Zodiac thing (??? as I said I don’t actually watch this show)

…this thing. Matpat attempted to explain That Thing by linking each symbol to a project Alex has since worked on, saying that together, these easter eggs would spell out “the way to defeat Bill for good”. However, there is one symbol that Matpat couldn’t figure out.

The “llama”. Except it’s not a llama. It’s an alpaca.

A seemingly (ie, hopefully) sentient alpaca named Sloane, who just happens to be one of the most baffling, non-sequitor gags in Gen V.

On June 4th, 2024, Gen V’s official twt and insta pages announced their newest character, Cipher, with the show’s second season being confirmed for 2025 in a post dated July 26th.

That’s all the updates on this situation for now. A quick reality check to finish up: Obviously Bill Cipher isn’t real and these writers, actors etc aren’t actually possessed. However, I would take Matpat’s own thoughts one: Alex Hirsch absolutely being the type of person to build this bonkers metanarrative, and add that this is far from the only absolute gut punch of a late-2000s-fandom-specific easter egg to be found in Gen V. Other examples include the characters of Luke Riordan, Annabeth (yes seriously), and ofc the tragic/antihero psychic girl with mind control abilities whose eyes turn red with blood when she overuses her powers, and who loses her hand in a climactic season-ending battle…. If You Know, You Know. TLDR someone in Gen V’s writers’ room is both young enough, savvy enough and unhinged(complimentary) enough to 10000% do this on purpose.

Anyway yeah. Just coming over from The Boys fandom to let yall know that Bill has already made the jump to 3d, via puppets of all things. Hope this was helpful or just vaguely ominous.

so. after remembering tumblr exists I have returned to post more random shit. this time it's about minecraft

so a while ago I found out about an in-development mod called create aeronautics. and, after being in the community for a while, joined a build server run by one of the admins of the discord server. this build server is for a specific project known as the Vinali.

it doesn't fly at the moment, at least not for us. the previously mentioned admin has tested it with an older version of aeronautics, which I'll call aero for now, and it does fly.

about a month back, we finally finished the Vinali. I joined near the end so I didn't contribute too much, but I did get a shop which has a bit of lore behind it. anyways. after we finished it, it was still kind of early in the day, so we decided to just... fuck around. I'll go into detail about some of the things we did, not really in chronological order, because these are all images I grabbed from various places they were uploaded on discord from me or others.

one of the first things I remember happening that day was us discovering how to use the Exposure mod, and each uploading an image. here's us posing next to the images we uploaded. I'm the one to the right, in front of

this discovery led to this image being created. that is G-man from Half Life, hanging from the ceiling. This image has basically become the Vinali's Jesus on a cross. you can find it in every crew quarters, many apartments, and many of the shops. we also got this image.

it's just an image of G-man looking at the previously posted image. not too much else going on.

We decided to log off for the night. The next day, we added figura, which allows for custom player models. so many shenanigans ensued.
