✨ the seimei sweater ✨

So i love to watch figure skating, and what's a more beautiful program than hanyu's seimei?? I watched the movies and i really enjoyed them so i wanted to make a knit inspired by the program as well as the movies with that wonderful soundtrack by umebayashi shigeru.

Since i didn't use a pattern to make this sweater, I thought I'd make a post to describe my process.

For this project, I used acrylic yarn (100g / 241m) and 4mm + 3.5mm circular needles. While most of this (except the collar) is worked in flat, i just prefer the feel of circular needles, but you can get very far with flat needles ദ്ദി ( ᵔ ᗜ ᵔ ) More below the cut

For the main pattern you have to cast on a multiple of 6 stitches + 4, and ideally an amount that also makes sure your rib starts and ends with a purl (on the right side). For the entire body I used 4 mm needles, only for the collar did I use 3.5 mm ones.

I used several stitches to make this, first a 2x2 rib (about 10cm), then a border over the rib, which goes like this:

(Right side) purl 2, *slip 2 knitwise with the yarn in front, purl 2* to end of row

(Wrong side) continue 2x2 rib in pattern

Then you get to the main stitch, which was inspired by this one ↓ except I adjusted the pattern to have single branches instead of double ones.

It's a 16-row repeating pattern. It actually starts on the RS, but we are working on the WS,so start with an extra WS regular row (p1, *k2, p1*), or you could do 1 more WS rib

When you get to the neckline, decide how big you want it to be. I wanted a pretty tight turtleneck while working in pattern, so i decided to make shorter loops and bind those off. So instead of making loops in row 15, i made the first few in row 11, then the side of the neckline in row 13, and then finally for the shoulders in row 15. Here is a simple drawing that i hope clears up the thought process

Make the body however long you want it. After making the last loops, work the WS row, then bind off however you like.

For the sleeves: follow the same process as for the body, but just work entirely in the pattern and just make a rectangle that we will sew on the body later. Make them however long and wide you want them (i personally think i made mine way too long so one day i want to take them off and shorten them a bit).

Sew the pieces together so you only have to do the collar. For the body, i did NOT attach the ribbing together. Pick up stitches along the neckline (amount that you can divide by 4), work 1 row in 2x2 rib. Continue working in the round. Then make the border over the rib. Continue working in 2x2 rib. Make a stretchy bind off.

Hello poeple! Let's talk about Crydamoure! More precisely its etymology and design.

And of course, it's a t h e o r y. Mine theory.

Thanks to @whyfalloutwhenyoucanpanic to encourage me to do this.

Most of poeple think Crydamoure means "Cry (tears coming from your eyes) of Love", right? But to me, it doesn't makes sense if you think well. When you really love, you don't want to cry. You can cry about feeling happy or losing what or someone you love. But not about love something/someone.

The name "Crydamoure" cames from the french expression/phrase "Cri d'amour", which Cri means "shout/cry out" and Amour means, well, "love". So in the end, it means "Love shout".

It could be a shout like a war cry, when the warrior gave a shout like "ATAAAAACK!" and right after start to moving to atack the enemy; like in movies.

That's cool because it matches with the logo, that looks like a medieval emblem. And we have Le Knight Club as a major artist of Cryda.

Also, if you put Cryda's logo upside down, it becames a heart.

Love shout also reminds me of the vocalization the people made while are m a k i n g l o v e (my loooooove ♫)

Well, that's not impossible, because it came from french people, since they are known have a very romantic stereotype lol. Also some LKC remix sounds kind sexy, like Aloud - Undersea (Le Knight Club Edit) and Zoot Woman - Taken It All (Le Knight Club Remix).

Another point is the correct french word to love word is "amour", not amoure. (as far as I know). Maybe it's a way to people doesn't think about this sex-thing releated. And this thing about amoure/amour remember of Guy Man and his name. He presents himself like this, but that isn't his real name. It's just a

shortening, which just joke with the meaning of "man" word (I know before you find out it's said "Gee", you said "guy" instead lol.)

And, of course, let's dont forget about he is our beloved golden bot with a heart; a heart which produces beats. So he's a beatmaker; THE beatmaker of Daft Punk <3.
