Oh it's the glamping life for me! The Cooinda Lodge is a large and diverse site in this wilderness oasis. Cooinda means Happy Meeting Place in the Aboriginal language. Crocodile hunter Tom Opitz and his English wife Judy opened a Tent Store here in June 1964 and that is where it all began. Against all comments at the time, it was Tom that insisted on the name of the place, and now it is on the map. It developed into a more general Store plus fuel then hotel. Now it has chalets, pools, restaurants and the glamping chalet we are staying in for the week. Judy, 90 widowed and living back in England now was the true life inspiration of the character Nicole Kidman played in the film Australia! We have surprised ourselves by actually liking our circumstances here. The canvas chalet is very comfortable and the air-conditioning very efficient. The 'facilities' block, not usually necessarily high on our list of must haves, preferring our own private department, is 20 meters away, very clean, quiet and functional. It also contains a small communal kitchen which is useful. Were the site busy, we might have a different opinion possibly.
The plan today was to head south from Cooinda to the Baramundi Gorge, for here are to be found the waterfalls that pour into the oh so deep rock pools of Maguk. Reaching this beautiful geological feature is not so easy. The first obstacle one spots is at the turning to Maguk itself. For there's a big sign telling you that this is an unsealed road and is suitable only for 4WD vehicles. Happily I know all about the switch that mystically makes our Ford so equipped. Secondly we would need to keep very quiet about travelling a road such as this with Mr Europcar. As we set off down the track, creating clouds of dirt in our wake we form the opinion that this is a piece of cake. However, this is a 10km bit of road, and before long we discover why it is felt a 4WD vehicle might be better suited. Clearly during wetter seasons than we are in now have taken their toll on this road and ruts have been made which would cause the British Army some difficulties. We navigated our way through as best we could, then along sections of ridges that certainly would have thoroughly tested the bits of the car that are usually sensitive to vibration. Then, all was done and we parked up in an empty car park. We are in rainforest, the path we are now taking is on foot and weaves through forest foliage and to either side, swamp. Occasionally there is boardwalk and then a section of boulders to negotiate and climb. And all the way along are signs warning of crocodiles. We came across a monitor lizard or two, none of his larger mates. Then, just as you wonder how much further it could possibly be, the sound of cascading water comes crashing around the rock formation and there is the pool, as deep as deep can be and it was fantastic.
What a relief to be back in the Ford and rumble back over those unsealed roads and back to the lodge with the aircon full on. Cup of tea, pint of Pale Ale and then a free concocted meal using breakfast sausages. All washed down with SB we brought from Darwin. Great day.
ps. There's a cheeky cockatoo that sits on a tap here and drinks from its drips. The next step on evolution might be that he turns the tap?

I'm having a bit of a rough time lately...Can't really focus on any writing or one single piece of art for too long - I just keep jumping all around and it is exhausting. So...I just decided to talk about my main character since I'm feeling more comfortable with sharing things about her. And be warned, this will be all over the place as well.
Here is her SBS trivia:
And below the cut are lots and lots and lots (and I mean, a lot) of details of development, fun facts, and further info on my girl.
🌙 Carmen is incredibly morally grey - I place her very firmly as a chaotic neutral.
🌙 Some cute, lighter things before I get in too deep with her character: As a child, she was very much a daddy's girl. She loves to make things; especially jams, wines (jet fuel, save for a lavender wine that is surprisingly pleasant), suncatchers, jewelry, and the occasional tambourine. She can read the stars. She really likes sweets - her favorite flavors being caramel, honey, and cherry. And she really loves peaches - her Devil Fruit was once a peach. As mentioned above, typically in a real-world setting, her mother is from Japan, so Japanese is usually a second language for her, but it hasn't come in One Piece. But she also really loves miso soup, especially when it reminds her of her mother's cooking. Her mother brushing her hair is a very fond memory for her, and she grew it out for her mother - playing with hair is a major sign of affection for her. She really likes the ocean and she misses swimming.
Anyway...
🌙 She won't hesitate to become violent - there's confidence in her abilities that can even overflow to arrogance at times. In fact, Carmen was so similar to Kid, I had to tone some things down. For example, in Gundam, she had the short choppy hair (which she gets at some point in every insert, but more on that later) and she always wore goggles either on her head or around her neck. She was a mobile suit pilot and she loved working on her machinery, so I took the tinkering and mechanic aspect away from her. Although...I do still have an old mechanic pin-up drawing I did a few years back...
🌙 Carmen still thinks robots are cool, though! Didn't take that away from her. She also likes dinosaurs, dragons, comics. Since the only one I'm aware of in One Piece is Sora Warrior the Sea, she's an avid Sora fan and goes straight to the strip whenever the paper drops. She also really likes anything considered scary and strange. She likes to catch spiders, lizards, insects. As mentioned above, she has a fascination with Thriller Bark. Her favorite holiday is Halloween - she loves all things Halloween. In the real world, the Monster Mash is one of her favorite songs.
🌙 Also...in a real-world setting, she fucking loves ALF??? (She's watching ALF all the time in Gundam)
🌙 Beyond her interests and sense of humor, she herself is also incredibly...weird? Strange? Off-putting maybe? Franky will describe her as sketchy earlier on (Wandering Star, episode 5), even as she warms up to everyone, I'm not sure that opinion really goes away.
🌙 Very much a trickster - it's her base for how she functions even later in work and play. If you've read any of Wandering Star, you know she absolutely cannot be trusted - not unless you truly get to know her, at least. But before that, she knows how to read people due to her job and absolutely will use it to her advantage.
🌙 She has ridiculous willpower when it comes to reaching her goals. Originally, she wasn't going to have Conqueror's Haki, but after reading more about it, I realized it would be absolutely fitting for her.
🌙 I kept with my other rules though. No Future Sight, she can't hear the Voice of All Things, and she is not a "D". Her middle name for well over a decade has been Dolores, so I removed it entirely for that purpose. While she is good with Haki because of her upbringing in a powerful kingdom with a Haki-based military and her family being personal friends with the Captain of the Guard who would train her from a young age, she is far less reliant on it now. However, she does often pair observation Haki with her powers, and has pretty much ceased use of armament. Her whole thing is just "don't get hit", which usually works out for her with her speed and precision - but is absolutely not always the case.
🌙 She doesn't like to use shields or wear helmets, even in battle. That was a big thing that came up often in her insertions for Berserk and Gundam. With armor, she just likes to keep everything light.
🌙 She doesn't like to wear shoes. That's just always been a thing with her. She will compromise with some black flats or comfy sneakers though.
🌙 I've noticed she's always incredibly nomadic. In AOT, it was the Survey Corps. In Berserk, she was a mercenary. In Gundam, she was Airborne. She holds rank across the board, too.
🌙 On that note, I'll say she feels very much like a natural-born leader. While she can be crude and cold (often) she still always very much cares for her men, and they give love and loyalty in return. In One Piece, you'll see what she was willing to give just to be sure her men had adequate training (for victory and survival), food, clothing, and shelter. Her and her men are always like a family, that's across the board. They like to sing a lot, especially around their campfires.
🌙 Singing and dancing is something that has carried over for her since I was a child. As much as I hate it, it is a major part of her as a character and has been from the start. In One Piece especially, after certain events you'll see she'll use singing to kinda self-soothe (also I've noticed when she sings, unless she's performing, it's always sad songs or love songs???), and dancing is very freeing for her. In stories across the board, she's always working at a club of some kind that leads into the main story. For Berserk, it was pretty much the same as One Piece when the Band of the Hawk came through. In Gundam, she was working in a far sleezier little place, stole a cop car to attempt to drift it to try to impress a guy and got arrested - with current world events, they gave her the option of prison or military. She chose military and went on to become a Major, and yes, at least one war crime was committed on her part. To further illustrate her brand of violence even from back then, there was one scene after she had just lost one of her men where she stepped on ground soldiers with her mobile suit, smearing a few of them.
🌙 The pilot thing always carries over in some way shape or form. If it's not a mobile suit or an aircraft, it will be a black Jeep or a black horse. In One Piece, she will come to find she adores sailing ships.
🌙 Another really big thing that will always carry over across the board is at some point, she will lose her hair. In Berserk, she willingly cuts it off out of grief. In Gundam, her hair is already short for the main story, and you get the event in a backstory OVA. For One Piece, I know exactly when it happens. Which, across the board, it is devastating because of how special hair seems to be for her.
🌙 Also for appearance, her weight can tend to slightly fluctuate as well. In the main story for Gundam, her stomach has a bit of softness. During WS, she's very toned, bathes often. Post-WS she's still fit, but her stomach is softer, she doesn't bathe as often (maybe every 3 days). Some TMI, she's not a dancer anymore, so she doesn't have to keep everything clean-shaven down there, and she doesn't. In WS, her scent was like a sweet spicey vanilla amber on her skin and flowery/fruity for her hair. After WS, she just smells like sea salt and her captain. Even though she has a pretty bad scar between her shoulder blades (that's new for her) she will probably get the moon phase tattoo down her back that she had in Gundam.
🌙 Aside from appearance, there are plenty of core story elements that have always and forever carried over and translated to the worlds, but I think that's all I'm willing to give for now while I'm actually posting Wandering Star.
🌙 For some more character development info: If you've been following me, you've probably seen me mention a handful of times I've had Carmen since kindergarten. My first memory of her is on the playground and she was a VeggieTales OC at the time (can you believe???) But her first full, actual insertion was Sonic the Hedgehog when I was in second grade. Fun fact: her eyes are still purple to this day because of her Sonic insert.
🌙 On that note, while she's gone through many changes and developments over the past couple of decades, you will see plenty other artifacts still shining through from her inspos. Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame was one to the point where it permanently affected part of her style (fully, depending on the world. But I love her One Piece insert because it somehow let her two distinct styles come together and kinda fuse).
🌙 If you've read episode 2 of Wandering Star, her meeting everyone was based off Esmeralda's dance, and even her family house words "Let Justice Be Done" spill over from that character. And those house words have been used in multiple inserts. Though I will say, over the years I've noticed she's developed her own darker sense of justice. Oh, also the Thane family crest carried over from Berserk (it's just Skull Knight's sigil - don't tell anyone).
🌙 Another huge impact for developing her to who she is today was Lara Croft (I was just...so into Lara Croft as a child...all the Tomb Raider games...man) - that whole 'tough girl' thing has stuck, but more importantly, it was the beginning of her dual wielding that was solidified with her Attack on Titan insert. Between the two, I've had her current fighting style for a while and was delighted when I saw how similar it was to Killer's own fighting style. Fun fact: when I make her in video games, I play as her - go for the choices she would make, the armor she would wear, the weapons she would use. In my thousand plus hours of Monster Hunter World/Iceborne and Rise/Sunbreak, I have only touched dual blades for serious gameplay.
🌙 Beyond dual-wielding, duality is a major character element of her I have picked up on over the years - how she's incredibly cold-blooded and brutal with enemies, but how she has such a sweet and devoted loyalty and a gentle heart for those she loves. I noticed duality even manifested itself with her power use in the world of One Piece, even as far as the attack names themselves in the form of a big scary word and a really pretty word (i.e. Eschaton Aurora). That's how it goes for all of her attacks, except one that isn't an attack - it's the softer, loving side of her power use and it's called Honeymoon, though it's never really said. So, there ya go.
🌙 Even further, she always has twins - Rae and Ciri (Raemond and Cirilla). BUT! Interestingly enough, if (and that's a really big IF) she reproduces in the world of One Piece, it'll just be a boy instead of the twins that's she's been having for over two decades. Which...i can't figure out why...But! I do have a name chosen for him! However, I came into this planning to kill her off before she reproduces - it was a rule when I gave in to her insertion. Think I'll just let things play out like I always do.
Anyway...that's enough for now. If you made it this far...wow. All I can say is I hope you like her! I realize she won't be for everyone, but that's okay! Her and her stories keep me going.

"she returns to her original plan, not giving a fig about Uncle and hunting Lizards to MAGA" This got me to dig a little cause I remember the plot synopsis (on the Nintendo website) for SB not mentioning the church. "Align with Edelgard as her army conquers areas of Fódlan to flush out dark forces and rebuild a more just society." Unless dark forces include the church‚ and conquering areas = gameplay iirc SB is just CF with Agarthans showing up as a "We were behind this chapter fight all along!"
The same synopsis that pretended that GW would focus on Almyra? lol
unless we were supposed to understand Claude becomes Hilda's racist almyran caricature, and we learn more about how Almyra's army buys souvenirs, how their general is jolly about "rampaging" in a city and how their royal family really sucks?
Imo, for anyone who played FE16, Supreme Leader's spiel about a "more just society" is the reference to the Church, after all crusts are the reason why the world doesn't work, so with the pesky lizards gone, no crust system (somehow it makes sense, I mean, this is the route that ends on a high five...) and Uncle'n'pals are flushed down the Adrestian toilets (even if Rhea is the one who gets rid of him).
Ditto for the "conquering areas of Fodlan", Supreme Leader conquers what isn't hers, so that also means the mountains where lizards live, and just like Faerghus, I doubt they would accept offering their home to the first conqueror who barges in claiming they "need to go".
Nopes put the emphasis on MAGA, but hunting lizards "for a more just society" is also mentionned, just like Uncle's fate.
#anon#replies#3 Nopes#if crusts are the reason why humans live in this irrational world#no crust = more rational world?#and no crusts means no lizards#so MAGA for the conquer plot#and subhumans BaD for the 'fairer world' plot

Have I ever told you about the time I was genuinely jumpscared by a dropwig?
No? Well I'm gonna tell you!
I was playing Hunter, and I got to Outskirts. I was coming up from the bottom of SU_B09.
Important note: I had the SB camera scroll mod enabled
At the time, I didn't know that 2 dropwigs were guarantied to spawn in this room, so I saw one dropwig at the right of the room at thought to myself "haha, not this time"
but as soon as I got out of the pipe at the top of the room...
*HISS*
I actually screamed a little and jumped back
Next thing I know, I'm dead...
I was literally frozen in shock...
I just stared as the dropwig dragged my body across the room...
But before the dropwig could drag my body into a pipe, A red lizard jumped out and killed the dropwig
The red lizard snatched my body and dragged it to the room on the right, which revealed ANOTHER RED LIZARD who was fighting the 1st dropwig
Here's some screenshots I got (I had Pansear's DMS mod enabled too, that's why Hunter is more red than usual):

We all have canon mounts for our WoL's but, we ALL have our first chocobo! What is your WoL's chocobo name? Do they have a strong bond after going on so many adventures together?
Kai: Swiftstep, a prayer for speed and sure footing
Yuki: Otoya, fleet and true as an arrow
Popoto: Pumpkin, named for her color and how round she was as a baby
Negi: Namatamago, he thought it sounded cute
(The others don't have their birdies yet so they don't have names, but everyone is def good friendos with their birbs)
Since Popoto is so small I hc that she made friends with all the chocobo breeders in Bentbranch, and when it came time for her to get a riding bird they gave her a special dwarf chocobo to fit her size
If you're given a chance to have an expac/prequel (timeline who) that is tailor-made SPECIFICALLY for your WoL/XIV OC... What is the title and MSQ
👁️👄👁️ (shout out @unboundhavenn)
Kinda HC that Azems source shard dies during/before each calamity, and they played some pivotal role in either bringing it about or trying to prevent it. MSQ would be a series of echo visions going through the events leading up to each death, and what happened after. I'd probably call it Shardbound, to bring it full circle back to my wols name weh also cuz that's just been the theme of her story, even back when arr dropped (though rip, yet another SB acronym lmao) so you'd go from the first all the way to the 6th or 7th calamity (not sure about 7 cuz that'd just be 1.0 lmao)
Although I do have a hm what if about like, what if azems shard was born as a (pre-empire) garlean, and that was the reason emet-selch decided to become solus and marry them for angst reasons. Then when the shard died it would be the Tragedy that got Emet-Selch to give up on humanity (again), and hed authorize the research that led to the 7th calamity
if your WoL or Oc had an in game portrait like the scions do, what would it’s name be?
Kai: Wand'ring Star
Yuki: All for Love
Punch: Scaletipper
Twi: Ever Onward
Negi: Where Heart is Home
Popoto: In Soft Sunlight
Crystal: Cycle's Disciple
For Auri Wols/Ocs, do you have any headcanon Auri lore about your beloved lizard, or Au Ra in general? Tell me all about it. Tails, scales, horns, sheds. What are your hcs about Auri communities? Lizard babies? I need to know!
I gave Yuki the Big Tail and I like to imagine it is large like a croc's, also she does the water float thing. She rumbles like a croc too
Crystal hisses and has folding fangs like a snake, and her scales are small and cover a lot of her body so she can shed them in one big pull
Also HC that au ra spend only part of their pre-natal time as a pregnancy, and about halfway through they come out as an egg. This way the mother doesn't have to risk birthing a gigantic baby boy or deal with horn nubs. You can tell when they're about to Lay because they start to get nesting instinct, and crave foods that give them a lot of calcium. Yuki has her egg and gets the Ironworks to build a portable crystal-powered incubator, and it looks like those travel backpacks for cats

Puh-lease,
We all know if Rhea accepted to uwu surrender in the final map of CF, she would be able to be escorted out of the continent!
Just as long as she takes her tacky pointy ears and icky lizard blood out of Fodlan.
(then maybe Uncle would ask her to kindly offer her crest stone, 5 liters of blood and maybe both arms as a proof of her good-will).
Everyone who played SB says it's a snoozefest lol. I'm just saying, wait until the final cutscene/cinematic, it's 100% pure shonen nonsense, but in a good way!
The BESF is always excited to kill people, or they have other preoccupations like marriage or what should they have for dinner - oh wait, my bad, that's Raphael.
everyone who gets killed in the war “is standing in our way.” Imagine comparing self-defense to “getting in our way.” Yikes for that
But you don't understand! Supreme Leader kindly asked them to get out of her way, so if they still are standing in her way, they're opposing her and she is free to terminate them all uwu
More seriously, the game tries pretty hard to have characters avoid saying "we're conquering the world yippie" but it falls flat when, as you say, you mow down people for the grave sin of not wanting to be invaded :(
Yep, Hubert is the only one who is fully buying the plot he's in (much like what he does in CF!) - Ferdie's dad should die because he is a symbol, just like Dimitri and obviously, Rhea herself. Rhea and Dimitri are loved by their allies, so no matter what happens, even if you get rid of them, you would have to face people wanting to get rid of you because they loved them.
For Claude it's a bit different, because the games give the impression that he isn't especially loved/important in the Alliance - his classmates sometimes like him, but they wouldn't, say, pull off a "Dedue in Enbarr" for him.
I really hate how Lysithea's supports completely elude the fact that she was Solon'd after the Empire sent its dark mages in Ordelia - instead we have "uwu veggies bad" and other nonsense. I never cared a lot about the Deers back when I was playing FE16, but with Nopes? I don't even want to read their supports anymore.
To think Monica got the crest of Macuil - the Nabatean who resents humans the most - but that thing never got anywhere, instead we have... well. What we ended up with :/
Petra and Constance's support sounds so tone-deaf in SB, when you're invading the Kingdom for shits'n'giggles ! What, Constance excpects Annette to chew her out after invading her home and killing her dad? Oh, wait, Annette can't hold any grudge against her, since she was killed!
Is it any surprise that the steadfast followers of "no u" lack self-awareness?
As you said, it's completely bonkers how Edel will try to shift the blame of everyone's deaths not on her war of conquest - as she wipes Annette's blood from her shiny axe - but on "dah system" that forced them to "fall on her shiny axe" because they had Elite blood :( :( :(
Crests BaD, Rhea BaD!
just said whoever wins gets to decide what’s right. I mean, victors do write the history but yikes at the implications
It's funny, because the devs specifically said that didn't work (in the 2020 interview), and this is the reason why Rhea had to pretend Nemesis and the Elites were Heroes - Saint Seiros, after winning the war, couldn't force people to stop seeing Nemesis and his brutes as heroes, that's why, even if she rewrote history, she still had to work around this fact.
And to be honest, even if I doubt Edel has the same boudaries Rhea has, I can't see a post SB/CF world where Adrestia will be able to write that those morons in the Kingdom only fought because they were morons or because "Crests Bad" by completely eluding the fact Adrestia broke an existing peace to conquer Faerghus - or if it works, I suspect it's because Hubert would "convince" people to buy this story, and silence anyone who doesn't.
Scarlet Blaze Ch 11
Sorry this is taking forever, but here's ch 11.
MAIN STORY
Oh, shit, do we have to fight Gilbert next? AND ANNETTE? This suuukkkkks. It especially sucks since you know they didn't have a choice but to risk their lives just defending themselves.
Annette is so precious. Fuck. I don't want to fight her.
Gilbert being a good daddy though 😭😭😭😭
At least CF was entertaining. SB is a giant snoozefest where I have to kill all my favorites.
Man, they all sound like psychopaths. They're all super excited to go kill people who are just defending themselves. Even Dorothea's only worried about marriage.
MAP/SIDE STUFF
Shez just said that everyone who gets killed in the war "is standing in our way." Imagine comparing self-defense to "getting in our way." Yikes for that characterization compared to how concerned GW!Shez is about Claude's aggressive decisions.
Lamo, Mercedes is like wtf am I doing here fighting the Kingdom and Annie?
Aww, Marianne (and Dorothea) are like the only two who realize they're fighting other people and not just being all murder happy like the rest.
Dimitri just got put on par with Holst and Caspars dad by Balthis, kind of, unofficially best Kingdom warrior?
We're addressing the Ferdinand and Hubert subplot again. Which is good. It's by far the most interesting part of SB. Though, it's just a repeat of what we've seen from it before.
Ok, they're adding some different stuff which is interesting. Bringing up that even if Fredie's dad tried to retire and stay out of Edelgard's way, that he would still have to die because of what he symbolizes. Hubert and Ferdinand disagree on whether people like Mr. Aegir can get a second chance (as in, can you when you've become a symbol).
This is especially interesting to me in regards to what happens to Rhea, Dimitri, and Claude if they surrender to Edelgard and become her puppets. Basically, Hubert is saying that, no matter what, they'd have to die because anyone who would rebel would use (fill in here) as a symbol of their resistance. Claude may be the sole exception here because he can scoot off to Almyra, but it's very obvious that Rhea and Dimitri (and their staunch allies) are fighting for their lives, because even if we're generous and say Edelgard would spare them and give them life worth living (i.e. not locked up), Hubert would most certainly have them assassinated.
Which also brings up another point. People always talk about how it's wrong/bad for Dimitri to try and spare Edelgard at the end of AM because what kind of life would she live? But always praise Edelgard for trying to spare Rhea towards the end of CF but no one - not a single soul - asks what kind of life would Rhea live? I gotta make my own post about that.
SB is really gonna be - kill yo dad, the route. Ironic since I played this the day after Father's Day.
I have to fight Sylvain 😭
SHEZ & MANUELA A SUPPORT
Manuela is flirting with Shez lol. He said he liked her voice and she pushed him with like "is that all" until he talked about her looks lamo
Aww, Shez actually likes her hungover side. Saying he likes warrior her, singer her, healer her, and drunk her. That's kinda cute, actually
Shez said that he can't keep his eyes off her. Laying it on a bit thick. And said she's more attractive now than she was younger haha.
Yeah, Shez, I have no idea how she was supposed to see that in any other way lol.
HUBERT & LYSITHEA B SUPPORT
Hubert finds Lysithea studying at night and teases her about ghosts. She runs away.
The Imperial Army is a bunch of children who don't want to eat their veggies. This is 100% cannon. Hubert orders guards to sneak them into soups for the soldiers actually get their veggies. I cannot. (though, imagine the privilege, Faerghus could never)
Lysithea freaks out because she ate veggies.
Veggies are legitimately delicious though. I don't know what the Imperial Army's problem is.
EDELGARD & MONICA A SUPPORT
Guys, I'm so excited. A Monica support. I wonder what she'll talk about.
Monica counts how many times Edelgard worried about her and invited her to tea. I just . . . no.
This support was pure cringe.
I love how "Kingdom bad" because they're willing to die to defend their homes, family, friends, and everything and anything else they've loved from invaders, but Monica is to be admired because she's oh so loyal to Edelgard that even in when Edelgard leaves her for dead, it's a happy moment for Monica because it helps Edelgard's cause. Like . . . double standard much?
PETRA & CONSTANCE C SUPPORT
Constance is something else. She confronts Petra because Petra's dad invaded and it led to the demise of Constance's everything.
I enjoy supports that address conflict, but girl, that was not Petra's fault. Don't take it out on her.
Oh, good, she's not. She recognizes that Petra's people suffered, and that neither of them were involved, so there's no bad blood.
Then she hahahas and leaves. Lamo, this made me love Constance.
Petra doesn't get a chance to say she agrees and seeks out Constance, but finds her in the sunlight, and needlessly to say, is very confused.
MAIN BATTLE
Hubert and Edelgard just said submit or die.
Wow, Linhardt is like I wish the nobles would think about all the people who they're forcing to fight. The lack of self-awareness is astounding.
Ferdinand can join the "lack of self-awareness club" for acting like it's the Kingdom causing the violence.
Baron Dominic opened the gate, risking his defenses to rescue soldiers. Hubert judged him. But we're supposedly the good guys. I swear the writing goes out of it's way to make the Kingdom look good.
Fuck. I have to fight Gustave :( He dead :( Poor Annette.
FUCK. Now I have to fight Annette.
Fuck this route. Ingrid, Rodrigue, Gustave, and now Annette - all dead.
Even Baron Dominic's death is making me sad. None of the Empire generals get this kind of humanization when they die lol.
Edelgard and Hubert sound insane. Edelgard's acting like their deaths were inevitable because of their lineage (when they would've been just fine if not for her actions), and Hubert's like he's happy to die so it doesn't matter. What a bunch of looney tunes.
Edelgard just said whoever wins gets to decide what's right. I mean, victors do write the history but yikes at the implications.
So deep - "we're up against the world itself." Sounds like a teenage edge-lord wrote this lamo.
We got crusher. Joy. Did they pry it out of Annette's dead hands?
Oh, joy, more backtracking. Revolts in the Empire. I thought we were out of the backtracking era and into kill every Blue Lion era.
xxxx
#fireemblems24#good luck!#you don't have a lot of chapters left!#3 Nopes#the writers wrote the kingdom to be likeable victims#but victims nonetheless#and no one can shut the BESF up when they say stupid things over stupid things#remember Elincia shutting Ludveck's rhetoric?#No one does this against the BESF in the Fodlan games#it's honestly tiresome

A bit of annoucement
Hello,
Something different this time 😅
I got into BSD over summer, trying to catch up with all content. Frankly, I tend to stay away from shounen genre as usually these stories bore me after some time – action feels repetitive, some disappointing character choices and so on. But since BSD was always in my orbit as series with ‘other Ugetsu’ xD I decided to give a chance and oh my…….. it is really good.
Ofc it would be better it was more queer, but I guess intense male friendships are part of shounen xD Totally not written like romantic relationship xD
And for real they have such similar looks and vibe XD
And since I have a lot of thoughts, probably I will start writing down when I will have some free time.
I know you follow me for Given content so I am not sure if I should put it here or create something new account… if you have any suggestion feel free to write to me^^ or you can simply like this post if you don’t mind me writing here.
If you want to know where I stand when it comes to bsd – here are some my opinions^^ - also some spoilers here !!
Fav characters: Dazai, Chuuya, Akutagawa, Fyodor *plays Anti-hero in background*
Characters that grown on me: Atsushi, Fitzgerald, Yosano, Kyouka, Ranpo
Characters that I like just because xD: Poe, Mori, Tecchou, Gogol, Rimbaud, Verlaine, Adam
Character I wanted to like but nah:/ : Kunikida (because his character arc builds up but leads nowhere - it is frustrating to me too much)
Character that I am neutral on: Oda (imo he is good character, but it was very predictable to me what will happen to him and kids - it was hard for me to get invested)
Characters I dislike: Tanizaki (like literary I can’t find anything interesting about him xD), Shibusawa (imo he was meant to be cool villain but felt too much typical in the end)
Character interactions I want more:
Chuuya&Akutagawa (I was happy for changes in DA stage play even though Chuuya was a bit too mean xD)
Kyouka&Lucy (they have lots in common and could be good friends),
Chuuya&Verlaine (SB needs follow-up)
Gin&Higuchi (imo more female friendship would turn out good for the story)
Kouyou&Chuuya (imo it is weird how mentorship was teased, but we got nothing substantial)
Fyodor&Sigma (I want more creator/creation dynamic as it is always fun and that betrayed Sigma’s look- oh boi)
Chuuya&Dazai (I simply want Chuuya to punch Dazai for that attempted drowning xD)
Fav arc:
Stormbringer (perfection, I loved everything)
The Perfect Murder And Murderer – I love deduction time xD and how it is like breather between more action-packed arcs. Ranpo-Poe duo is just so much fun^^ Mushitarou’s story was great and I loved his theatrical antics. I liked how Ranpo was developed in this arc – the consequences from feeling guilty from mistakes in Cannibalism
I also love all parts where ADA and PM has to cooperate xD so much goodness. Shin Sokokou and Sokoku are really heart of story, Fukuzawa-Mori and Yosano-Black Lizards were highlights too
Most disliked arc:
Azure Messenger in anime (it was so bad on every level xD I didn’t read LN version and I don’t feel like it honestly xD)
Dazai’s demise in Beast (I was so angry when I read it *throwing-book-kind-of-angry* Honestly I like better that from spoilers movie version sounds more ambiguous on that)
What I like about writing:
Compelling characters – really Asagiri and Harukawa have knack for creating interesting characters
Symbolism – you know it is my jam xD Especially I love ying-yang relationship between ADA and PM – it is soo cool how there is basically light side but with bit of darkness (represented by dark past and trauma) and dark side with such selfless motive like protecting peace in city and comrades xD I like how story makes them cooperate together and this being shown as ‘the way’ and how characters are getting karma back at them when trying to antagonize/distrust each other xD it is really cool that there is no simple PM = evil and ADA = good guys, but more complexity is going on.
Message – imo story has heart in right place. I like how characters have agency and can be who they want - not defined by their dark past, but the will to be better person. I also liked theme of humanity in SB and how it was handled that origin matters less and the most important are ppl in which eyes someone is human.
My issue with writing:
more spotlight on female characters pretty please *siigh* honestly I just want more all of them
when strong competent character is conveniently disappearing from main action XD I mean I understand that is for plot reason, but it is so often and weird sometimes – imo it would be better to just make short notice that Chuuya/Kyouka/etc is just somewhere else doing something
Theories time (I wonder if I will got something right😄):
Chuuya tearing down Meursault completely, alliance with Fyodor on his free will (imo it would be more interesting this way, but opposite is rather more possible)
Fyodor’s ability will be opposite to Dazai (something like ability control like Rogue from X-men) and his backstory will be parallel to Chuuya/Verlaine (because paralells are fun xD)
Fukuzawa will die this arc (maybe Mori too if story will go for soulmate vibe xD)
PM taking over Bram’s skill and staying as vampires, Bram living normal life
Redemption + Atonement arc for DoA (yep, all of them – actually imo it would be neat if Fukuchi founded theatre as irl – art for healing~~)
I hope loose threads will have follow up – Steinback and Fitzgerald confrontation, Mitchell and Hawthorne reunion, healing arc for Q, Verlaine in PM, Tachihara and Yosano’s arc lack proper conclusion too…
#bsd#bsd opinions#are they unpopular i wonder?#still wonder it i should start new account or if i am too lazy for that#i didnt expect to get invested that much but i guess time for new obsession xD

Did he seriously compare Dimitri to Rufus? lol I know the whole "Dimwitri dumb centrist" circus show is still, alas, very much ongoing in these circles, but how can you play SB and clown on Dimitri for not believing Edelgard? Here is a non-exhaustive list of her speaking about her intentions:
GW bonus:
Like... She's dead set on unifying Fodlan under the Empire's banner and she makes it plain throughout SB and at the end of it. So no, Dimitri has no reason to think she'd stop once Rhea is dead and pretending otherwise is delusional at best. But Sailor Egg knows best and Dimwitri should totally submit without question if he knows what's best for his people, right? Also lizard lady bad.
I decided to read a bit of Raxis' essay response to you out of curiosity - see what the points are and all - and uh.
So he says Edelgard isn't JUST trying to unify Fodlan, it's only "a step on the path" so.... she is trying to unify Fodlan. It's just not ALL she's trying to do. How is that a defense?
And then "Dimitri goes full Rufus" by refusing Edelgard's attempt at allowing him to surrender the Church and return to Faerghus peacefully because he believed she'd still try to kill him anyway... making him irrational, but. Hm. In GW, wasn't Dimitri eventually forced to do exactly that due to being unable to protect the Church and Faerghus against the Empire and the Alliance...
If I recall, CLAUDE went to go kill Rhea, and Edelgard and her army followed Dimitri back to Faerghus. So much for allowing him to return to Faerghus peacefully. I dunno, maybe Dimitri can just read the room. Better than Raxis can, at that. I also seem to recall Edelgard rejecting DIMITRI'S attempts to reach out to her/get her to surrender in AM (twice).... she had a really good reason for doing that though, I'm sure. Unlike Dimitri.
Anyway, how does "unifying is just step 1 of making Fodlan better because she JUST wants her reforms" square away with "allowing Dimitri to remove himself from the conflict and return peacefully to his Kingdom?" Those two points are in complete contradiction to each other and are yet thrown out so confidently as rebuttal. Almost like he didn't stop to think about how those two facts didn't actually add up.
I didn't read the rest. I kinda don't feel like I need to. I wonder who he thought the "Lady of Deceit" in the CF chapter that involves Edelgard lying about the church doing something reprehensible was, anyway. Cornelia didn't do anything deceitful in CF's storyline besides sabotage the Kingdom as usual but hey, you'd think Edelgard would love that. Must've been Cornelia. Or maybe it was Rhea. Yeah. Got to have been Rhea.
Definitely Rhea. When in doubt, the green lady is to blame. She didn't share her stash of weed with Edelgard.
But yeah his arguments are shit. Kudos to you for being able to make an actual response to it and not falling asleep halfway through!
Lol who cares about Edelgard not JUST wanting to do some imperialism, she still does it. That's such a stupid fucking argument did he really think that sounds okay??

My predictions on BSD getting animated going forward
I’ll be taking a look at the novel page counts (Japanese and English) and comparing them to the screen time they’ve gotten so far and then using this to predict how long the remaining light novel adaptations will be (approximately). At the end will also be my rough prediction/hopes for the order of some of these being adapted. I say some because I have yet to read what there is so far of the gaiden novel translations, the main story manga has essentially still been on the DOA arc almost since where the anime left off, and I personally think that it’s currently too soon for Storm Bringer (aside from money purposes).
Note, most of this was written well before the anime 5th anniversary livestream but the announcements wound up not affecting it. I then of course made adjustments as needed account for the novel content we do have so far, both in Japanese and in English (officially).
Page to Episode Count
Not counting the afterward, ads, etc for the English/US copy, Japanese is including it
Also all eng page counts are using the Yen Press release and jp page counts are taken from the fandom wiki
*148 is purely counting the Untold Origins portion of the novel. If we also count the A Day at the Agency short story that’s included before it (56 pages), then we get the full 203
Also the English page count for BEAST was noted before the English release date but after page counts have been posted by affiliated retailers, so subtract a couple pages from the written count of 176 for the time being to account for the afterward and possible character sheets being included
Now that we have our page to episode counts (as of April 5th, 2021), let’s find the actual content run time of what we do have animated so far.
Seasons 1-3 and the OVA all have the same episode length/duration. Each episode is 23 minutes, and we can subtract 3 minutes on average from that to account for the OP and ED being played. This leaves us with an average of 20 minutes of BSD story content per episode. So on average, each of the first 3 seasons contain 240 minutes, or 4 hours, worth of story content.
Dead Apple’s total run time is 91 minutes, with the OP and ED making up 9 of those minutes. However, we do have a bit of the story content being played while the ED is playing (as sometimes happens in the anime as well). To keep the math simple, I’ll be approximating story content time at 82 minutes.
Apply these numbers to the novels that have been animated so far and this is (approximately) what we get:
Now let’s use these numbers to predict the screen time needed for the other novels
Note that we can’t really use Entrance Exam as a fair measure because of how much got cut out (just compare the run time of it to Dark Era and it speaks for itself). However, the numbers for Dark Era and Dead Apple are the best ones to use, as they both have minimal changes between anime and novel and both have official English translations currently available. Take out the approximate time taken up by OP/ED and and the numbers pretty much match up.
So with that being said, we can estimate Untold Origins (only) at approximately 3 eps/60 min and 55 Minutes at 1h 40-55min/100-115 min or 5-6 eps if it doesn’t get a movie. We can also estimate the A Day at the Detective Agency short story at the beginning of Untold Origins to take up about 1 ep, probably even a bit less.
1+ 3 + 5-6 = 9-10 episodes which isn’t enough for a full single cour season unless they all get put into one big OVA season, but also 10-11 eps (or less) seasons are a thing (ie. Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited, Blood Lad, Black Butler: Book of Circus, The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of a Holy War, FLCL)
My personal predictions/hopes for the anime adaptation timeline going forward
This is considering the manga content, current “pausing/stopping points” what wouldn’t be too awkward, each of the novels relevancy/necessity to the main story manga, and assuming we continue with single cour (12-13 ep) seasons
Hopefully/ideally a 55 Minutes movie
S4: ch 54-70
Early S5 (preferably) or end of S4: Untold Origins or A Day at the Agency
S5: ch 71-88/around where we are now?
A Day at the Agency can, in my opinion at least, be chucked in at any point either as a single episode OVA or as the light novel content for s4 (maybe not even taking a full episode and then starting ch 54 in the last few minutes for example). Keep in mind that the current DOA arc is a long one and has plenty to it, so personally I think it may even be better to not include a novel adaptation in a future S4, as it would likely already be a right squeeze content wise. Remember, we also have a few XX.5 chapters that are continuations of the chapter directly before them.
I still need to read what’s currently available of the gaiden novel fan translations but it can probably be adapted at any point as well. I’m estimating approximately 5-6 eps as an OVA series. I don’t really think it would get a movie, partially because you can make it only so long, especially since it’s an anime movie and unlike Storm Bringer, it doesn’t have Chuuya to practically guarantee the profit.
BEAST also doesn’t directly impact the main story and can be adapted at virtually any point. However, seeing as we do have a live action confirmed for it and it’s page count lines up very closely with Dark Era, it can be either 4 eps or (more likely in my opinion) a movie, as it can be considered almost stand alone content.
Personally, I believe it is currently way too soon to animate Storm Bringer as it came out only a little over a month ago (as of writing this) and has minimal plot necessity as of ch 91, but I do believe it should be either split into 2 movies (a part 1 and part 2) or it would need 8 episodes, likely as an OVA season. If it were to get animated sooner than 55 Minutes or Untold Origins, which I believe to be very unlikely, I feel that it would almost certainly be driven by the financial gains of Chuuya being included, and his popularity alone. Reminder, SB is about Chuuya and not SKK. Dazai’s appearance in SB is proportionally a very small percentage and he’s not even mentioned in the official plot summary.
However, you can argue that SB is starting to have some relevance now, with the recent mention of the Order of the Clock Tower in ch 90 and the increased relevance of sealed ability weapons in ch 91. However, I really do believe that you can’t adapt Storm Bringer before 55 Minutes because of Standard Island and its treaty, it also talks about sealed ability weapons, knowing who Wells is, and 55 Minutes canonically takes place during the “downtime” portion of S3. In fact, here’s Asagiri’s words directly from the Afterward (translation by Yen Press):
“this volume didn’t take place in the past, but rather sometime after the tenth volume of the manga. In other words, it’s a tale about the ‘usual’ detective agency in novel format.” (55 minutes, p 237)
Untold Origins also should be adapted sooner rather than later (at least compared to SB in my opinion) because it’s about Ranpo and Fukuzawa’s shared past, which becomes increasingly relevant ch 70 onwards, as well as the need for the ADA being founded (which ties in with Yosano’s backstory in ch 65-66).
In regards to whether I think each of these would be better suited to a movie adaptation or as multiple regular length anime episodes, it’s mainly due to page count and partly due to the budget difference between the two, as well as how difficult I think it would be to animate each of these based on what needs to be drawn. The anime industry isn’t the fastest to switch to newer technology, hence why we see issues with 3D blending sometimes. I really do think that at the very least, 55 Minutes deserves the movie budget because of how detailed and complex the architecture of Standard Island is described as, as well all the mechanical parts needed for the final battle of the novel. Hate the lizard mouths introduced in Dead Apple all you want, but you can’t deny that the 3D cgi was blended very smoothly. For any of the other novels to be movies, it’s more so because gaiden and BEAST can be considered their own stand alone stories that don’t rely too heavily on the main story in terms of when they take place and get adapted. I feel that SB is more likely to get its own season or an OVA season more so due to its length, but multiple part anime movies have also been done before (ie. the Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel movies), so it’s not entirely impossible. Especially considering that merely having any Chuuya screen time means that you can expect the profit and popularity to really go up, especially with SKK being on screen together (regardless of whether you love or hate how the fandom tends to push a shipping POV on them).
These are all of course just my hopes and predictions and estimates based on information currently available, so take them with some salt. I’d love to hear opinions on how, when, and why each of the currently non animated novels should be adapted going forward. Also please stop begging the relevant BSD official Twitter pages for SB to be animated next and go read the other light novels you Chuuya simp

Thursday 31st October 2024
Today, we left our glamorous glamping for pastures new. It seems incredible that the week has gone by so quickly in Kakadu. But we have managed to do so much in that time. It was time to pack up shop and head off to Pine Creek and then on to Katherine. Final check to ensure there are no crocodiles hiding in the suitcases.
Now the reason we wanted to call into Pine Creek was that it was the subject a few years ago on our favourite ABC program, Backroads. The presenter Heather Ewart travels around Australia, meeting very small communities and finding out what makes them tick. One such town was Pine Creek. We drove up and down the Main Street looking for signs of life. We thought it would be nice to have a coffee, bit all the possible places appeared shut. There was the old station and museum shut. An exhibition of the old gold mine and subsequent Uranium mine, shut. Not a soul on the streets, and then we came across the Lazy Lizard Tavern. Considering this was the only place with any signs of human habitation at all, it was packed with interest. Firstly, they had a coffee, and they appeared to be serving delicious looking food to a small collection of tourists. Then, at the rear, there was a huge barn filled with restored classic American and Aussie cars and motorcycles. The smell of engine oil and leather was quite beguiling. What an excellent collection. Old metal advertising signs abounded, and a lifetime's collection of registration plates exceeding those of the dvla no doubt. Then, just as you are thinking that the whole place is a little oasis of genius, you notice a small scruffy bloke in the corner playing with a four-foot python which he claims to be perfectly harmless; well at least it's never bitten him he said! He continued to stroke the snake until it becomes apparent something was not right. Hang on, he said, I just have to move his back end slightly. With that, he moved the tail end over the edge of the table just in time for the snake to go about his ablutions. It had never occurred to me that this was an affliction open to our reptile friends, let alone an issue that needs such close attention. However, job done we enquired, as you would after such an event, what he fed said snake with. Oh, rats, he said, I buy frozen ones. It's OK. They only eat one every 3 weeks or so.
Well, moving on, I had to ask about the program. I said Pine Creek appeared on Backroads. Do you remember them making that episode. Oh, I love that show she said. No I didn't know they came here. I'll ask Shannon. She knows everything. She didn't know either. So, there we were with no further leads, and as far as we could tell, the remainder of the town had escaped for the rest of the millennium. The trail was not cold, but dead.
Onwards then to our goal of Katherine. Stopping briefly to admire a buffalo grazing near the roadside we carried on.
Our home for the week is in an apartment on what seems to be a small farm and riding stables. The outlook is very rural and we appear to enjoy unfettered views of a field of cows that enjoy sitting in a small pond to keep cool. We, on the other hand, have air-conditioning to achieve similar aims.
We are still forming an opinion regarding Katherine. First impressions are that it clearly, sadly, has its social problems associated with a high population of indigenous peoples. Once more, we had to be checked before we were allowed to buy a couple of bottles of SB. Small groups of Aboriginies hung around Woolworths and a bit of shouting and lying drunk was occurring, but unfortunately, this can be quite normal behaviour, and it isn't threatening in itself. We made our purchases and returned to our new digs with baramundi and chips. Lovely.
ps. The ABC news showed an article about what they referred to as Pollie Perks. Apparently, politicians, including Prime Minister Albanese, have been accepting gifts, flight upgrades, and pop concert tickets! Shocking. Now, like the UK, there's to be a tightening of rules!
pps Happy 35th Birthday Liam

I just want a little feedback. Does my assertion that Hopes Edelgard, without the influence of White Clouds, is a less effective tyrant more concerned with PR and doesn't back her ideals as much make sense?
I wouldn't say that she's a less effective tyrant in Supreme Bullshit or that she's more concerned with PR...
But after ditching Uncle'n'pals, she needs other allies, and thus has to turn to the corrupt Adrestian Nobles, represented by the best pals Leopold'n'Waldemar
(+ Bernie's dad if we want)
Imo, if she doesn't use Crest Beast in Supreme Bullshit, it's because... they're at an experimental stage, and not because she suddenly awakened her moral compass and thought turning her people to biological weapon through gruesome experimentation is cruel and inhumane.
Crest Beasts are not reliable yet - and since she speed runs this time, she doesn't let Uncle'n'pals refine their "technology" and create more powerful/usable Crest Beasts.
Which brings another nonsensical point : in FE16, it is shown (and heavily implied in Tru Piss) that the only way she managed to kick Rhea out of Garreg Mach is through the use of Crest Beasts, the second Rhea turns in her lizard form, she can destroy imperial soldiers by blinking. That's why Uncle's special "reserve troops" are needed, to fight against a Nabatean.
In Nopes... apparently she manages to oust Rhea on her own, even in AG where Rhea turned into the IO and flew away?? What the frick? That Sailor Fuku must be the famed "plot armour" because I can't see otherwise why she wasn't flattened in Nopes.
Supreme Leader might believe that Uncle'n'pals are powerless right now, and she has the upper hand because they didn't show her all of the new shinies and tech and "war assets" they can provide her -
which goes back to what many of us were discussing for 3 years, Uncle'n'pals are actually weak sauce and without their nukes of Nemesis in the freezer (again, forgotten because the Sailor Fuku plot armor prevents Supreme Leader from being demolished), they aren't doing anything different than slithering around, telling corrupt nobles to be corrupt or just fanning an existing bonfire
So Supreme Leader, riding high on whatever she smoked in Nopes, to Hubert's dismay, thinks she can get rid of Uncle, who hasn't played his hand yet, by using the lizard illuminati - but she declares war on the lizard illuminati before making sure Uncle'n'pals are disposed of, maybe she thinks they're not in Adrestia anymore, so that's enough for her?
Now, as you pointed out, she's still out there being a tyrant, killing people who don't bend the knee to her, attacking refugees, etc etc.
But she needs other allies against what's left of Uncle'n'pals and the Lizard illuminati, that's why she tries to agressively recruit Lonato (iirc in SB she wants to save him so he will join her side?) and invented that nonsense about Acheron being her ally, to invade Leicester but also, and maybe, she really thought he was willing to bend the knee so she could use him as fodder against her enemies.
---
As for PR, even if Pat's lolcalisation team tried to lolcalised it, in FE16 we learn how the Empire is running an "information campaign" to make Adrestians less worried about the war going on, so she always wanted to give a good "image" to the world. Hell, we can even surmise that Claude was on the receiving end of one of her "information campaign" since he drank her words in Golden Trashfire about the Lizard illuminati.
Imo, WC cements her (Hubert's?) hunch that Uncle'n'pals are the only ones able to help her against the Lizard illuminati, because they have means - as "gross" as they are - to fight against Rhea and the Nabateans. She gains loldiers, a cool set of armor and giant fodder.
Through the course of WC, we see how her plans (together with Uncle) are working, somehow, and manage to destabilise the Church - imo, the biggest "win" they manage to secure is not kidnapping Flayn (even if that is a major success!) or trying to steal the SoC (it failed because plot reasons) but effectively infiltrating Garreg Mach and turning its students in Demonic Beasts, under Rhea's nose. The knights are stretched thin because of the Western Church and so Thales'n'co can infiltrate, continue their experiments and plan their invasion.
They even manage to kill Jerry, who's supposed to be hot stuff!
Now, in WC, there is Billy.
In all routes, Billy is the one able to use the SoC, and the one who received Sothis's blessing. Supreme Leader is pissed, because she was the one supposed to the ultimate weapon against Rhea (the goddess doesn't exist, she's fake?) and Thales wanted her to use the SoC, but here that random nobody pops up and manages to use it, effectively receiving, by the time Kronya kicks the bucket, Sothis's powers.
In Tru Piss she lampshades it, Billy was never supposed to side with her, she thought they would side with Rhea/the Church.
So in a way, the person who makes Supreme Leader rely more and more on Uncle (even if, as I pointed out earlier, he has time to demonstrate his usefulness by giving her new tools to work with) is Billy.
WC is more like her despair, her power alone isn't enough to topple the Lizard illuminati, who just recruited a powerhouse through Billy, she needs Uncle.
Remove Billy and their Sothis powers, (and Uncle's science projects being successful) and Supreme Leader believes Uncle is useless and her power alone* is enough to topple the Lizard illuminati.
*including the shiny Holy Weapon she found under her bed that was definitely not made by lizards so it's totes her power and hers alone + the super strength she got from Uncle's experiments.
--
As for her being happier in Nopes...
I'd say it's because she believes she's the one in command and doesn't need to rely on anybody (corrupt nobles can be axed if she wants, look at Ludwig) and she's the one "cutting her own path uwu".
In Houses, she faces her own... inadequacies and realises her "own power" isn't enough to fight against Rhea, that's why she has to rely on Uncle and she hates it - but imo, she doesn't hate it because Jack and Joe are foddered as demonic beasts, nopes, she hates it because she doesn't like Uncle and wants to kill him, the enemy of my enemy is an ally, but not an ally I'm super glad to work with.
She never gave a fuck about Jack and Joe.
Supreme Leader always pretends to second guess her motives and to show mock guilt, calling herself a tyrant etc only for people to say no she's not, or she's making that great sacrifice for the "great err goal" with copious amounts of earl grey, etc etc - and the shadow realm is all about that, everyone swallowing gallons of earl grey to make her look "not bad", and by corollary, make Claude a stupid man hell bent on killing Rhea , as seen with his convo with Dimitri, who is "BaD" anyways.
In AM there's no pity party because everyone died, so when she turns in Hegemon, no one is here to talk about a great sacrifice or to drink earl grey, she's stripped down to her core motivation and main goal : there can only be one ruler of the world, and she wants to be that ruler.
Even if Supreme Leader in Nopes is shown interacting with Leopold'n'Waldemar and, in a way, compromising with her supposed ideals of muhritocracy and getting rid of nobility by relying on those dudes...
Even in Houses she relied on them - Leopold defends Enbarr iirc, and in Tru Piss rolls over Leicester - and worse, at the end of Tru Piss, several of her friends keep their hereditary positions who are, well, still there, despite the so beloved Ferdie support where they mention schools and imperial exams etc etc.
Her goal hasn't changed between Nopes and FE16, but she's happier in Nopes because she is ignorant - Thales'n'Rhea disappear, they're not "dead" in Supreme Bullshit - and thinks her own power is enough to get rid of them, both because her sailor fuku is made a plot armor, and because Thales didn't play all the cards in his deck (Nukes and Nemesis and lab tested Demonic Beasts).
In FE16, Thales has more time to show her his hand and Rhea recruited a powerful ally (and no sailor fuku with plot armor i guess) which means she has to rely on Thales, and she doesn't like it because she's not the one in control.
AM!Hegemongard is a Supreme Leader drunk on power and contradictions, she becomes super strong, but she relies on powers that aren't "hers", they're the result of Uncle's experiments and, ultimately, Rhea's pact with Willy.
Aymr represents her association to Thales, Agartha and her problematic agency (is she conquering the world because she wants too, because Agarthans manipulated her stupid dad to tell her to conquer the world, or because she's brainwashed and a Supreme Puppet like AG depicted?).
Labrunda isn't supposed to represent her association to the Nabateans (they're are creatures plaguing humanity for ages after all!) but the her non-problematic anymore agency, she's in charge, she's the one cutting her own path...
Except that she doesn't do jack shit, especially against her two mortal enemies, who "disappear" together because Rhea saved the world once again.
So, in a way, even if she's happier in Nopes, in Nopes she doesn't achieve anything (save for being a human who wages war like humans do), she doesn't get rid of Nabateans or of Agarthans.
But she's happy because everything she does (aka, nothing) is her own doing, and not Uncle's! And to piss on Nopes even more, the narration says the war continues, so truly, she didn't achieve a thing. GG for being the one in control this time, I guess?
In Tru Piss (her route) she might not have been super duper happy, but she manages to reach her goal, Nabateans are gone, Thales will be gone in the credits, and she's the ruler of the world since Dimitri tripped on a rock and fell neck first on Aymr, plus Claude decided to return home for some reason.
-----
So back to your question :
I don't think Supreme Leader is less of a tyrant in Nopes.
She just allies with different persons this time who aren't baby eating monsters like Uncle, but she never gave a fuck about those babies in FE16, and still dgaf about them in Nopes.
If she focuses more in PR, it's her way to recruit and keep recruiting those new "allies" - but just like she was complicit in Thales's actions in FE16, she is with the Adrestian corrupt Nobles in Nopes even if the corrupt Nobles don't turn people into crested beasts.
Even in Nopes, Supreme Leader still invades and conquers and axes whoever opposes her, she pillages a monastery and hunts refugees - and no one gives a fuck. IMO, she's still the same tyrant we see in FE16, but the game focuses even less on her actions than FE16 did, and that's some sort of record breaking move.
However, even with her newfound happiness and "stupid but not cruel" allies, contrary to FE16, Supreme Leader achieves... nothing.
She isn't the one who kills the Evil Lizard Lady, she doesn't even kill Thales, her war... continues, and doesn't end.
She's a less effective tyrant because she still has to fight a war she cannot win, but with the few interactions, crappy rhetoric and uwu fest we see of her in Nopes, she's still the same Supreme Leader.
#fantasyinvader#FE16#3 nopes#she sides with randoms in Nopes who suck but aren't Thales#and she has to keep her allies to continue her war#but it doesn't end#she's not winning without Thales#rhea bad she's the reason why supreme leader needs to work with thales#we don't even know in Nopes if she erases the followers of the central church in Adrestia like she does in FE16#Nopes is pretty consistent all things considered#compared to each lord's route it's a bad end#Supreme Leader doesn't achieve a thing#Clout sucks#and Dimitri isn't the saviour king

Sorry for late replies, anons! I was sleeping.
Did 3 Hopes just sunk Dimiclaude for Dimidue? O.o
Not necessarily. Claude doesn’t want to dissolve the Kingdom and Dimitri doesn’t seem to die in his route. Not only that, but Claude can be seen in Dimitri’s ending, along with cheering soldiers and stuff.
well. Let’s just say I’m baffled with the spoilers presented. Claude apparently turns into a snake, Rhea gets shafted again, and wtf is that about Byleth killing someone else in retaliation for Jeralt that isn’t the person responsible??? What the hell?????
Yeah, there is a lot of stuff here to be sure. I had the text somewhere of Rodrigue’s death scene, and Byleth seemed to be really mad that his father was killed.
I had saved the text, here:
Byleth is really mad that their father was killed.
Interestingly, though, we seem to actually get the titles of the original dragons of the Relics in this scene! The Steadfast (Felix’s shield), and The Vigorous (Dimitri’s lance). It also seems like maybe Sothis is taking over Byleth, as maybe Sothis is speaking through Byleth? Like “Again... you resist me?” and “You would offer them as tribute?” is very interesting. And if true, it would seem that Sothis has more memories this time. But she also seems... villainous? Which is character assassination in my book.
As for Rhea, she doesn’t seem totally shafted, but yeah... She still got shafted.
Claude is the biggest wtf though.
Got a laugh that even with Hubert, Monica, and Shez right there, Shamir working for Claude still manages to get away when her assassination of Edelgard fails on SB.
I know right?! Shamir is a fucking boss. What an absolute unit.
Why hththe fuck does byleth kill someone who isn’t shez if shez is the one who kills jeralt wt f wtf this is such bad character assassination that even byleth haters can’t ignore
I mean, maybe? Byleth doesn’t have that much character to be fair. And Byleth is big angry.
I agree it’s not a very good look though. Especially Rodrigue’s death, which Byleth just kinda... shanks him from behind.
Okay my question is do we get any more of lizard squad? Do we get see sothis other forms? The uncles in their human forms? Or is anyone who's a fan of the greenie family left to starve with this game?
So far, Seteth seems to play some role in AG. I did see a small snippet of him on a wyvern with his spear. I also know there is dialogue if Flayn falls in battle.
But that’s all I know that this time, sadly. I really hope we get more dragon stuff, jesus.
Alright that's it ! I need to know. What is the deal with Rhea and Claude, I saw a portion of a screenshot and it makes claude look mad suss . Like WHY?! He should be happy they took down the youknowwhomoles
We have NO idea but Claude drank the kool-aid.
He not only wants to get rid of the Central Church, but he even WANTS to kill Rhea.
It’s all very surprising to be sure. I have no idea how he even came to that conclusion.
