In this show, there's a lot of like, oh, we kissed then nothing happens, then they have their own thing. I'm I'm not lying to you. I got so confused. I was like, didn't they already do it? Aren't they already together in this? And I was like, oh my god, they're not. -Lamorne
But this was I think like the gift of like Liz Meriwether and I think why people love the show and responded so much. It was just so much of that was like real life and real relationships. It's messy, you made out then we shouldn't do it. Oh gosh, then we're back in as opposed to just like some rom com comedy where it is just the will they want they tension forever. And then in the final season, in the final episode they smooch. But that's not real life. These are like people in their late twenties, they're living together. It's a bit of a disaster. -Hannah

wait i don't know nuffin about new girl lore. or that such a thing existed. what was the discourse about when the season 3 episode 5 came out? what was the thing about leaks of shooting the ep? (no pressure to answer i just think fandom reactions are fun and interesting lol) (anyway have a good day!)
omg lol it was so long ago at this point but basically there were tons of photos and videos of them filming the nick and jess scene at the bank and there was this huge kiss and stuff that everyone was losing their minds over vs what actually ended up in the episode being a toned down version of it which made a some people so aggressively angry at liz meriwether and the show they basically just started hating her and the storyline and claiming she ruined nick miller like it was such a flip of a switch based on a disproportionate response imo but it was so bad you couldn’t say hm i liked x scene or x episode in season 3 without being jumped it was. very weird :)

ABC Audio*
ABC News announced today the new narrative podcast series from ABC Audio, “The King Road Killings: An Idaho Murder Mystery,” will launch Wednesday, June 7, with new episodes dropping weekly. The five-episode series hosted by ABC News correspondent Kayna Whitworth covers the brutal murders of four University of Idaho students who were stabbed to death in their off-campus house on King Road in Moscow, Idaho. Whitworth brings listeners behind the scenes as she investigates the savage murders that captivated and horrified the nation in the winter of 2022-2023. The immersive, deeply reported podcast series will detail the night of the murders and profile the victims — Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Kaylee Goncalves — taking a close look at why these students might have been targeted and how fear can grip a town especially when little information comes from law enforcement. The final two episodes will include real-time updates from investigators revealed in the preliminary hearing for the accused murderer scheduled for this summer.
Whitworth spent six weeks on the ground in Moscow, Idaho, reporting on the murders. Her commitment earned her a deep level of trust with those who knew the victims and law enforcement, leading to her booking the first interview with Moscow’s chief of police, who led the investigation.
“Kayna was in Idaho as soon as the news broke and stayed long after the murders happened, so she could truly understand the community and the affected families,” said Laura Mayer, executive producer of podcast programming for ABC Audio. “While this series will delve into the details of the murders and the potential motivations of the alleged suspect, using never-before-heard reporting, this won’t be your typical true-crime podcast. Kayna will tell this story through a personal and uniquely human lens.”
20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, is developing the podcast as a limited series. Development on this project follows the highly successful run of the Hulu Original limited series “The Dropout,” from Searchlight Television and 20th Television based on the award-winning ABC Audio podcast produced and hosted by Rebecca Jarvis. The award-winning limited series from Liz Meriwether received multiple Emmy nominations, including a win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for star Amanda Seyfried.
ABC News’ “20/20” will continue to cover the ongoing developments in the case. Previous coverage includes the two-hour January special “Horror in Idaho: The Student Murders,” with reporting from Whitworth providing a comprehensive look at the case and exclusive interviews with parents and loved ones of the victims, along with interviews with those who knew the accused murder suspect.
“The King Road Killings” trailer is now available for free on all major listening platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Stitcher, TuneIn, Audacy and the ABC News app.
“The King Road Killings” is produced by ABC Audio. Laura Mayer is executive producer. The podcast was previously announced in April under the working title “The Idaho Murders.”

New Girl Fan Products
In cleaning out my messages, A LOT of you seem to be asking about some of my recommendations for classic New Girl merch & gifts. Below I’ve compiled some of my personal favorites (and trust me - I own A LOT lol!).
Minor Note: I do make a small commission on items purchased so thank you in advance if purchased, but if not - also no worries :) I created this list for you all so I want it to be helpful to you first! Thanks everyone!
The Douche Journals: A “journal” written from Schmidt’s perspective. This was overall hilarious and a great gag gift!
“Hey Girl” Theme Song: I bought this and made it my phone ringtone lol. It turns heads all day & people love it!
ALL DAY Mug: I mean ... need I explain more?
New Girl Coloring Book: I still use this in between meetings at work lol. A very cute illustrated coloring book of the best NG scenes!
Another Coloring Book: Can you tell I’m obsessed with coloring books lol? It’s a problem but I love the pictures in this one!
New Girl Sticker Set: I have these ... EVERYWHERE lol. It’s bad but can you blame me? They’re so CUTE!
Season 1-3 Set: New Girl keeps moving streaming platforms so I’ve purchased the series on DVDs. Honestly, I find it to be much more efficient since I rewatch them ALL THE TIME lol.
Final Season DVD: Same as above, a must by!
Let me know if this was useful! Happy to do a few more rounds of these as I do generally have A LOT of merch, but wanted to keep it high level and low $$ for the first round. Thanks!

It all had to be subtext between them, but they had to kind of make these big decisions for some reason or another. -Liz Meriwether

So...
Single Parents, Liz Meriwether’s new TV show, premiered this week, right? I was excited to watch it because I enjoyed the premise, I love Liz’s work and I love Leighton Meester. But the reviews I saw were disappointing (plus, my plan was to wait until the season is over to binge watch it).
Did anyone watch it? What do you guys think?

After 7 years of watching this show and knowing the impact it had on me in my early twenties, I felt the need to scramble together a few words at the end of the series.
