Havria. A Wyld Elf and descendant of the ancient dryads, she is a devoted acolyte of Velun, God of Nature. Recipient of the Wyld's Blessings, a fragment of Velun's Divine Authority, her powers over nature are second only to the Lord of the Wyld himself. For centuries, she has stood as the Champion of the Wyld, guarding the last remaining bastions of untamed nature against encroachment from powers both infernal and divine.
Her powers as Velun's Chosen are vast, the fragment of his Authority enhancing and amplifying her pre-existing abilities immensely. Be it raising a forest in mere minutes, rejuvenating a land reduced to desert, or even on one occasion sealing a god into a cocoon of livingwood. Effectively, she can call upon the natural world as an extension of her will, and in turn acts as an extension of the will of nature. Additionally, Havria possesses the power of Wyldshape, able to tranform her body into the form of any non-sentient beast or creature which exists in nature.
Once a simple druidess, Havria was bestowed with her blessings for the sheer fervor of her devotion, which had caught the eye of Velun himself. Deeming her his Champion, he bid her to go forth and defend his sanctuaries against those who would desecrate and defile them, acting as the embodiment of his wrath against those who would dare to tarnish the Wyld.

Main characters of my wip Lovers to Enemies to ??? novel
I'm working on a fantasy/possible romantasy novel separate from When Good People Go to War and figured I might as well post the character concept art here :) final designs will probably have more detail, but I wanted to get the basic shapes and colors down.
Note on the mobility aids: livingwood, among arcane uses, essentially makes mobility aids into all-terrain.
Mariana (usually they/them) is the first of the lovers and General of the empire. They're a genderfluid half-elf shifter in their 40s, and their bracelet displays their pronouns. A particularly ambitious spell they attempted as an Intermediate mage fucked up their left knee and destroyed part of Toro's (he/him), their dragon familiar, wings so he can no longer fly.
Elodie (she/her) is the other lover and General of the coalition. Does that create problems? Yes, yes it does. She's an elf shifter in her 40s, and a physical and psychological combo attack while she escaped left her with permanent nerve damage to her lower back, so she uses a wheelchair most of the time. She can get up and walk for short distances, but it's difficult and painful. Elodie also has a matching bracelet showing her what Mariana's pronouns are. Her crow familiar, Azriel (he/him), helps with communication across distances, although he isn't particularly fond of being a courier pigeon.
Zephyr (they/them) becomes Mariana's plucky bodyguard. They're a human partial shifter in their early 20s, and their form is constantly shifting, resulting in chronic pain. They basically only look like this when they have 0 spoons or are unconscious. They carry a pair of forearm crutches with them everywhere, which in addition to being made of livingwood have a minor enchantment so they automatically adjust to the height Zephyr needs. Their cat familiar, Mickey (he/him), is both a familiar and potentially a service animal (been realizing he's doing some task-like behavior, may make it official on-page).

"An Abeiten's Livingwood relic is special. Crafted by them, capturing them. Their own essence. They live, breath, and they grow. Sometimes, these items have a mind of their own. A will. Do they have thoughts of vengeance? Do they grieve? What would happen if this item, a work of art, were to make something itself? If Livingwood were to bear a seed, what might possibly sprout?"

Okay, this is gonna be a long one.
Once again based on the Thaumcraft's wand crafting system, and its 8000 addons adding yet more wand cores. (and a one or two of my own creation based on later versions)
Wooden Cores
Wooden Wand Core
Storage: Around ~25 mVU (milli-vis units)
Affinity: N/A
Special: N/A
"Any type of wood can be turned into a basic albeit primitive wand core. It can store/channel vis for a time. It will quickly become burned out, especially when dealing with ignis vis. There have been many incidents regarding improperly made or overused wooden wands exploding or bursting into flames. Certain types of wood are far more effecctive"
(Based off of the stick from minecraft. I like to imagine even normal trees having different storage values based on the type/quality of wood. So its only a rough estimate for the average stick)
Profane Wand Core
Storage: Around ~25 mVU
Affinity: N/A
Special: Can generate up to 100 mVU from some unknown source.
"The strange wands found in the hands of the Crimson Cult, at least those not using those alien gauntlets, have some strange power laid upon them that even the highest Archons do not understand. This power manifests itself in the rapid recharging of vis from some unknown source. The strange runes even Usaltans dare not translate do not help in research. Be warned though, this wand has a tendancy to blow up at random."
(Based on the profane rod from Forbidden Magic. Maybe the Crimson cult has something after all...)
Greatwood Wand Core
Storage: 50 mVU
Affinity: N/A
Special: N/A
"One of the most common, and second tier of wand cores, greatwood has specially absorbent properties that allow it to store much more vis than that of other woods, though it is not the best. It is fairly easy to produce with a little effort and perditio centivis. They will generally last a few years even with frequent use. Should still be kept away from open flame or high temperatures."
(Based on Thaumcraft's greatwood.)
Silverwood Wand Core
Storage: 100 mVU
Affinity: N/A
Special: Resistant to flux
"What magical power the greatwood had pales in comparison to Silverwood. A tree whose very existance is fueled by the flow of vis from an Aura node. The spongey wood allows for a very large amount of vis to be stored, even if the process to revitalize a dead log to flow with energy once more is difficult. Silverwood wands have become a rarity ever since the Silverwood wars, and only those wealthy (or crazy) enough to try will attain them."
(Based on Thaumcraft's silverwood.)
Ironwood Wand Core
Storage: 40 mVU
Affinity: Aqua, Terra (5mVU)
Special: Converts Mana into Vis? Fireproof.
"Where Greatwood comes with good capacity, ironwood comes with extreme durability. Its fireproof, and can absorb some of the more natural vis (what Leafis call mana) and convert it into usable vis."
(Based on the Livingwood core of Forbidden Magic/Botania, mixed with Ironwood from the Twilight forest.)
Warpwood Wand Core
Storage: 200 mVU
Affinity: All, based on Warp%
Special: Resists warp effects.
"The warpwood tree was invented by Warper through the corruption of a silverwood sapling... Its disturbing and unnatural appearance betrays its nature, as it somehow feeds off of the effects of warp of an individual, dulling them and making these trees suprisingly helpful. Similarly, the wand core will dull the effects of warp and drain from those magical events in order to charge the wand. Being magically infused silverwood, it can absorb as much if not more than Silverwood can."
(Based on Warpwood from Tainted Magic)
Anudir Wand Core
Storage: 800 mVU
Affinity: N/A
Special: Fireproof
"The woodland known as Anudir has a strange and powerful magic laid upon in that makes it very valuable in wandcraft. Obtaining the corewood required is a challenge in and of itself. The forest seems to be sentient and knows when it is injured. The entire forest (and all the monstrosities that live in it) will try to defend itself. Once acquired, you will find that Anudir wood can absorb an absurd amount of vis compared to all other wand cores."
(Based on the Ichor-wrapped silverwood wand core from TTKAMI. Given Ichor doesn't exist in AEON, I had to improvise. Much easier to get though, so that's why it is worse.)
Elemental Cores
Reed Wand Core
Storage: 75 mVU
Affinity: Aer (15 mVU)
Special: N/A
"Reeds, Sugarcane, or Bamboo can be used to make natural wand cores. Their lifespan however is short due to the nature of its construction. For the duration though, Cane Cores will naturally regenerate Aer vis when depleted as it photosynthesizes. Even dead reeds can be revitalized enough in the wandcrafting process to function for a time as wand cores. Its a rather popular choice among western Phonetix & southern Fengard."
(Based on the Reed Core from Thaumcraft, except all bamboo-like materials can be used.)
Blue-Ice Wand Core
Storage: 75 mVU
Affinity: Aqua (15 mVU)
Special: N/A
"These wand cores, drilled from the deepest parts of icebergs and glacial masses, contain enough aqua to fuel its vis stores for quite some time. A careful infusion process will hopefully allow you to use it without ending up with a magical puddle. The elemental energies that provide it with aqua vis within it will decrease as it warms up, and no amount of infusion magic will prevent it from withering to a fool who sets it near an open flame or the heat of the sun on a hot day. It is recommended to wrap it in an insulating material for the sake of your hands."
(Based on the Ice Core from Thaumcraft, except its specifically the super-compact blue ice found in glaciers.)
Terracotta Wand Core
Storage: 75 mVU
Affinity: Ignis (15 mVU)
Special: N/A
"Terracotta is a unique material for wand creation to say the least. The more recently created, the faster it will charge ignis vis. If kept properly heated, Terracotta cores can remain functional for quite a long time. Like all elemental cores, the Terracotta core requires a not-insignificant infusion process to make viable for wandcrafting. Be careful of dropping it, its fragile."
(Based on the Blaze Core from Thaumcraft... No Nether means no blazes though. So you get this instead.)
Slate Wand Core
Storage: 75 mVU
Affinity: Terra (15 mVU)
Special: N/A
"The Slate wand core is fairly difficult to attain without delving into the deepest of depths. While any metamorphic rock can work, slate has the highest vis capacity and the best at providing Terra vis. Though trying to squeeze vis in or out of any old rock can be difficult without infusion, but nothing we cannot achieve. Like other elemental cores, the magic allowing Terra vis to be generated will steadily decrease as time goes on and the rock returns to a normal state."
(Based on the Obsidian Core from Thaumcraft... I didn't feel like drawing obsidian though. And its super fragile in every universe but minecraft. Slate is found deep in the ground too, and is less aligned with fire than obsidian is too.)
Bone Wand Core
Storage: 75 mVU
Affinity: Perditio (15 mVU)
Special: N/A
"What are you? A caveleaf?! If you can find a bone of proper size, it could possibly be made into a wand core with the proper infusions. The mortuus vis that eminates from it, especially from recently dead bone can easily be harnessed for its perditio. The longer since the death of whatever needed that bone, the slower it will recharge vis, but the sturdier it will become. The usage of non-animal bone in wandcraft is strictly illegal."
(Based on the Bone Core from Thaumcraft.)
Marble Wand Core
Storage: 75 mVU
Affinity: Ordo (15 mVU)
Special: N/A
Unlike slate, marble has an innately orderly structure to it that allows ordo vis to flow more freely, and can be amplified through use of infusion. Just like the slate core marble will steadily decrease in recharge rate until the magical stores are depleted."
(Based on the Quartz Core from Thaumcraft. Except Quartz in general is considered the 'vis crystal' of AEON so that won't do. You get Marble.)
Amber Wand Core
Storage: 10 mVU
Affinity: All (10 mVU)
Special: Recharges rather fast using the local aura.
"Amber's unique properties make it a very useful if not niche wand core. Getting an amber sample large enough to make a wand core will usually require travel to the Anudir or Lostlorn forests. The vis channeling properties of amber are terrible, and can only store a very small amount compared to other wand cores. However it makes up for this in its (almost) unique ability to draw upon and capture the local aura just like wands equipped with Sojourners caps, rather than solely relying on vis directly from aura nodes. It is considered the ideal wand core for battlemages."
(Based on the Amber core from Thaumic Exploration, except to explain its absurd recharge ability, we steal from every other Thaumcraft version's Aura system. Wands cannot normally draw from this aura except from nodes or other coalescing points.)
Miscellaneous Cores
Necrotic Wand Core
Storage: 150 mVU
Affinity: All -15%
Special: Recharges using the essence of lifeforms.
"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! This wand core is perfect for sadists and other cruel minded individuals. Its ability to channel vis from aura nodes has actually been weakened by the infusion process. By fuelling a bone core with the energy harnessed from elarium, you've created a wand with a horrid and evil mind of its own. Those stricken at the by this wand, stave, or foci will find their energy sapped to be directly converted into vis in a tremendously painful process. Those found in posession of a NWC will be executed at the Empress' orders."
(Based on the Necromancer's stave core from Thaumic Exploration.)
Thaumium Wand Core
Storage: 80 mVU
Affinity: N/A
Special: Starts off at full charge, if fully drained becomes inert and useless.
"Like stated in the Wand Cap segment, Thaumium is incredibly effective at storing and resisting magic. However, it struggles at channeling it for long periods of time due to the innate impurities that come from the thaumium construction process. Strangely this gives Thaumium cores an interesting niche as a disposable wand. As the arcane energies of the thaumium are sapped away for use it will steadily lose its magical properties until it is nothing more than a bar of metal."
(Based on the Thaumium wand core from Thaumic Bases.)
Transmutative Wand Core
Storage: 90 mVU
Affinity: N/A
Special: Attempts to 'balance' vis stores by converting 1 vis type to another. Can break down compound vis from nodes
"The Transmutative wand core is... weird, just like the primal charm used to create it. When being filled, it has similar properties as an unstable node, and will randomly 'convert' vis into different primals in an as of yet unknown process. It is also the only wand core capable of consuming and converting compound aspects. The colors it shines varies depending on the current vis stored in the wand, with a balanced full wand shining like a portable rainbow. Unlike most wand cores, this wand doesn't seem to wear out over time. Though, one should be careful to prevent damage as it will always explode when broken. Violently."
(Based on the Transmutative Wand Core from Thaumic Exploration.)
Manasteel Wand Core
Storage: 80 mVU
Affinity: Aqua, Terra (15mVU)
Special: Converts Mana into Vis? Can repair itself slowly.
"Manasteel continues to confound the archons of the Flare. For such a basic iron, it has strange properties that seem to allow it to meld and repair itself through sapping vis, in a completely opposite process to that of Thaumium. Experiments in its creation led to the discovery that like Ironwood, Manasteel is connected to whatever 'mana' is and can draw upon its energies to refill the wand."
(Based on the Dreamwood Rod from Forbidden Magic. Clearly this is no elven wood you might be saying. Correct. But since Thaumium can be made into a core, so can Manasteel.)
Tainted Wand Core
Storage: 150 mVU
Affinity: All (15mVU) (only when in tainted land)
Special: Converts flux into Vis, can repair itself slowly.
Why? By infusing the writhing tentacle of flux taint, you managed to finally get it to stop moving and absorb vis. Whatever taint is, it feeds off of vis just like anything else, and will naturally absorb up to 15mVU while within a heavily flux contaminated area. Likewise, it will also feed off of liquid flux and sap energy from those afflicted with flux flu, phage, or taint poison. Sufficient to say that this wand core was banned within the dominion ever since its inception."
(Based on the Tainted Wand Core from Forbidden Magic. Its still weird to have a taintacle as a wand.)
Voidsent Wand Core
Storage: 150 mVU
Affinity: All (15mVU) (30mVU when in the Warp)
Special: Warps the user!
"Voidmetal, despite being known to be very resistant to magical effects, is actually absorbing the energy, so naturally a wand core made of the stuff comes with all of its benefits. It is also warps the user heavily in the process though... The effects are doubled in places where the fabric of reality is at its weakest. Being made of voidmetal, its nigh indestructable. It is very expensive to create, and primarily used by the highest archons and nobles."
(Based on the Voidmetal wand core from Thaumic Bases.)
Eldritch Wand Core
Storage: 300 mVU
Affinity: Unknown
Special: Unknown. Likely warps the user.
"The Empress' current wand core. Not much is known about the design or abilities it has, but supposedly it can somehow understand the most efficient way to use foci in order to increase its potency without increasing vis costs. It also holds an impressive amount of Vis, and is presumably made of shadowmetal."
(Based on the Primal Stave core from Thaumcraft, and Shadowmetal from Tainted Magic.)
Notes: Wand cores, like their caps are not immune to the wear and tear caused by time and usage. While some cores can last many years, none will last forever and will need to be replaced eventually. Particularly the Natural wands which will decay as all dead things do, and the infusion process can only slow that. Likewise, sufficient damage will destroy the wand, usually in a rather dangerous and violent way.
Common sense also applies to this. Using a fire foci sustained using a wooden or ice wand will not likely end well.
Bracelets from Thaumic Bases are up next. Nearly forgot about them lol.

48. — lucky
The journey back from Northrend had been a long one, but the pervasive numbness that had stricken her in the tomb consumed her every thought. Every muscle ached like fire, and the Paladin's clouded mind, and battered body would've likely given out long ago if not for the Light guiding her.
The man on Weslynne's shoulder stirred as she trudged forward through the snow, but she barely even registers the movement beyond a grunt. She tears her gaze from the splintered oak in her grasp -- the Lightess remnant of her horned, livingwood helm -- and pushes the memory of the Mawsworn Commander from her mind.
The startled knight begins to slowly rouse from his stupor, aided by the biting Northrend winds. His eyes are wide with terror, flitting about to every direction like a prey animal looking for a way out of a desperate situation.
Wes hadn't had the opportunity to do much more than tend to the man's immediately life-threatening wounds. He was still weak. Able to be moved, sure, but likely unable to move on his own after the torturous mess he'd been through. He struggled against her grip all the same, incomprehensible babble spilling from his lips.
"Kill me now!" His voice is still hoarse from screaming, and a pang of guilt crashes into Weslynne's chest like a battering ram as his words echo in the still air. "I won't turn-- I won't! I'll die before I serve your foul master!"
Light flickers at her fingertips, and she places a hand on the man's back. His struggling slows to a crawl as his anxiety and anguish flood Weslynne's already-overburdened mind. The rawness of his throat, the bitterness of his thoughts, the absolute anguish coursing through his broken body. She shoulders those burdens just as she's shouldering him. She feels each and every sensation just as he would have.
He might have screamed otherwise, but Wes can feel how close he came to breaking, too. The despair he felt in the moments just before she arrived? They far overshadow her own.
"It'll be okay, friend. I am here." She tugs her hood up against the bitter winds, trudging onward through the snow and slush. "I am here... and we were both lucky to get out of there in one piece.

Thank you for the ask, @whimsicallyart ! I was going to do a little writeup of the aftermath of an event @merelliahallewell ran, but this ask presented me with the perfect opportunity. Thank you again <3

At last, the wizard's tower. At least, Meu thinks so. The dooris located up a small set of wooden stairs however. Can she handle her greatest challenge yet?
ROLL: 18
Meulin can at least make it up the stairs! They’re of surprisingly sturdy construction, possibly woven out of some special kind of livingwood. Neat!
