One of Riley's new goals is to show Monica all of his favorite spots in Strangerville before they potentially move away (they have started discussing it!). She's still fairly new to the area and is very excited to see where Riley grew up. First stop was the Strangerville Canyon Pool by @ladykendalsims! Riley spent a lot of time here when he was younger, up to no good of course. They swam, drank and maybe kissed a little bit, I gave them their privacy though. The night ended with them cozied up next to the bonfire. Overall a very successful little date!

RIO GRANDE DO SUL / BRAZIL NEEDS YOUR HELP, PLEASE 🇧🇷

Guys, I know my blog isn't big at all for me to be doing this, but after living some of the most devastating and scary days of my life I feel the need to at least try.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure most of you don't know that the state of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) is going through the worst climate catastrophe in its history.

To give you some context, it started raining on Saturday (April 27th), and by Monday (April 29th) cities were already underwater. As days went by, and as rain didn't give us a single moment to catch a break, not only floods were a problem, but also multiple, huge landslides. By Wednesday (May 1st), it was like everything was falling apart around us. Everywhere.

Blackouts. No communication. No water supply. Brigdes collapsing. Roads washed out. Houses floating away. Animals drowning. People dying. Missing. Begging for help...

I mean, it's been a really long and painful week. There are so many videos and pictures that I could show you, and I still wouldn't be able to show and explain what we're going through.

Now, a week later (May 6th), we're still living this nightmare. Water follows the course of the river and it's like floods just move from one place to the other. On top of that, more rain is expected during the week.

So far*, out of 496 cities in the state, 341 cities have been somehow affected by all this. At least 78 people died, over 100 were reported missing, and at least 175 were injured. Also, over 134,000 people were forced to leave their homes behind, and most of them won't be able to return because houses aren't even there anymore.

So whilst we're doing our best here to help our people, volunteering ourselves and just doing whatever we can to try and start all over (cleaning up the streets and houses, making food, donating clothes and furniture, etc) we know there's only so much we can do without financial help. Which is why I'm writing this.

Because no one asked,

Here's how I would do a transformers series:

1) emphasize the disguise

They're robots in disguise. Its in the tagline. Make the bots and cons fight each other while trying not to be noticed.

Why would world conquering deceptions stoop to hiding from puny organics?

Easy. Skew the matchup. If its 8 billion nuclear armed monkeys vs 5-10 alien robots, even ol megsy ain't gonna take those odds.

The Autobots have an even easier reasoning: follow the prime directive.

2) Shipwreck everyone

Why can't the bots/cons just call for reinforcements?

They crash landed. That's why. Everyone's in stasis or injured. Callback to G1 where they spent 4 million years in sleep mode under a volcano. Maybe not *that* long but it would explain why no one noticed two alien starships smacking into the planet. No one was around to see it. Macguffin event happens, a couple bots and cons wake up, and they realize that a wholeass civilization popped up during their nap.

3) Civilian autobots

Why did they come to earth?

As is usually the go to answer: Cybertron's f*cked. Solution: Autobots dig out a *really* old and obscure planetary survey, find a decent enough planet, Optimus takes a bunch of scientists and engineers on a colony ship and they go off to found New Cybertron. Survey said the place was uninhabited, so it's free real estate. (Humans were probably still debating whether or not coming down from the trees and walking on 2 legs was a good idea when the Cybertronian scouts did the survey)

Soundwave does his soundwave thing, finds out, Megatron loads up a warship, and they shoot each other down on prehistoric earth. Meanwhile, a caveman named grug figures out mr fire is your friend.

Point is, you've got one side that's a bunch of scientists, engineers, and other civilians (The Autobots)

And the other that's almost all elite combat troops (the Decepticons)

But, because of the first two issues, the cons can't take advantage of it. Otherwise they alert the Humans and someone with an itchy trigger finger drops a thermonuclear warhead on the stranded nemesis.

And if a human does discover the Autobots? Imo a civilian is more likely to break the rules and play nice than a trained soldier.

4) nobody wants to stay here

The Autobots originally planned to colonize earth, sure. That was before they got shot down, locked into stasis for who knows how long, and woke up to see an entire sapient civilization spring up from nowhere during their nap.

Optimus is Optimus, so it's plan B: freedom is the right of sentient beings, so we fix the ark and found new Cybertron somewhere else. Ideally, the human race won't realize they were ever here.

The Deceptions only care about crushing the Autobots and getting off this corrosive rock. Unless they can call home and summon an armada, it's just not *worth it* to pick a fight with humanity.

6) things I'd like to see

-Skyfire/Jetfire

Jetfire being one of the scouts, getting frozen in a callback to G1, and being found and thawed by some human scientists. He's just living his best life in a hidden lab, and only mildly worried about why Cybertron isn't answering his calls. Oh hey Starscream! When did you get the tattoo? (It's a bad breakup)

-Swindle

Our dystopian capitalist nightmare is Swindle's daydream paradise. He absolutely loves earth. #1 fan. He probably makes connections to the mob. Good times.

-Nightbird

Local mechanized AI (or ghost in the shell cyborg) has an emotional crisis, joins the deceptions. Beats up any Cons that disrespect her. No notes.

-Dinobots

"Wheeljack, why do our new security drones look like...that?"

"So there's this earth movie called "Jurassic Park"..."

Later:

"Wheeljack?"

"Yes optimus?"

"What happened to the sparks that we had in stasis?"

***Tyrannosaurs roar*** Me Grimlock Smash! (Panicked Decepticon screaming)

Obvs theres a couple teens who pal around with the Autobots. There should be at least ONE adult in their early 20s as part of the group who's forced, however unwilling, to be the sole voice of reason. Aka: "I'M NOT TELLING YOUR PARENTS YOU GOT SQUISHED SNEAKING INTO AN EVIL ROBOT SPACESHIP"

"Then who's gonna pull off the rescue?"

"I AM!" (They instantly regret this decision, but They're at least old enough to make it)

-Shockwave as a late series villain

Shockwave has had command of the Decepticons ever since Megatron's Ill fated disappearance chasing after the Autobot Ark.

Having him return and upset Shockwave's centuries of effort holding onto the planets in the Deception Empire would be... Unfortunate. Perhaps it would be better if he stayed dead.... It's only logical.

I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I’d like to post a little farewell to G5. I know it wasn’t a lot of people’s favorite, and it definitely had its fair share of flaws (I remember giggling with my partner when the first episode of MYM came out over how stiff the animation was!), but I loved it very much, and I hope maybe we can somehow see these characters again. I loved this cast very much, so I’m going to ramble a bit below this. For a quick TL;DR: I love these sillies a whole lot, and they will always hold a very special place in my heart :)

Misty in particular means SO much to me. I love her and the way she overcomes living with Opaline, especially because the other Mane 5 are just. So willing to give her space to come into her own and discover who she is in a way she’s comfortable with every time she’s uncomfortable. Found family Misty is everything to me as someone who grew up with a not-so-great family and sees her friends as her family. On that note, I also really like the way Sunny is portrayed to have PTSD symptoms after struggling with 2 villains (shoutout to Allura though, I wish we got a proper end to your story girl). I like it when shows acknowledge that going through crazy stuff often results in trauma. She has very obvious flashbacks in s1 ep68 and s2 ep7 of TYT, and she starts experiencing paranoia, having nightmares, and being hyper-vigilant, and it means so much to me that they bothered to show how living through those situations impacted her mental health.

Next, I think I wanna talk about Izzy! I know a lot of people see her as “the Pinkie Pie clone” (and, to be fair, she IS pretty similar), but I feel like she’s so much more than that. I love her having Violette as her own protégé, and how she’s always so excited to use her creativity to help others! It’s nice to see G5’s Mane 6 teach others their own “elements” much in the way that FiM’s Mane 6 acted as mentors to others. I’m also VERY glad they brought back rainbowified ponies, even if Izzy was the only one. She looks GREAT, and getting to see that they brought it back one last time for the final episode made me SO happy (I actually SQUEALED when I saw the thumbnail for episode 23!). I know that part isn’t really personality related, but it still makes me happy!

I’d also like to sing some praises about Hitch, too. Adding a male to the main cast was a rather bold move in my opinion, since the closest we’ve ever gotten to that is maybe Spike in any gen, Danny in G1, and maaaybe Teddy in MLP Tales? We’ve never really had a boy be part of the established main group, and oh boy was Hitch the perfect beginning for that! He’s such a goofball, and I love the sort of “awkward, cringey dad who loves his son very much” thing they did. Yes, he’s different from movie Hitch, but I always saw that as a side effect of now having a child to parent in the form of Sparky. A LOT of people’s personalities can change post-having kids, and I think it’s interesting that they made him like one of those parents who just wants to bubble wrap their kid and keep them safe. It’s pretty funny, since Sparky doesn’t exactly seem to mind or care. He reminds me a tiny bit of my own dad, and that’s something that means a lot to me.

The last two I want to talk about are, of course, Pipp and Zipp! As for Pipp, I honestly… wasn’t the biggest fan of her at first. I think I was just cranky because they added technology and social media to my Horse Show, LOL! Once I kind of got used to that, she grew on me. She grew on me BAD. I absolutely ADORE Pipp; she’s just the cutest! I love how they have her take accountability when she screws up, and I think it’s really important how she teaches kids that it’s okay to put the phone down for a while around seasons 4-5 of MYM, especially given how much tech plays a part in everyone’s lives these days. I think her having confidence and wanting to SHARE that confidence rather than bring others down is really admirable, and I love the approach they had when designing her character in intentionally making her shorter and rounder than the rest of the cast (most notable in TYT), but very specifically not having her be insecure about it. Touching on bodily insecurity is always great, but I also love seeing characters who look different where it’s just… okay. It’s accepted. I think that's pretty awesome!

Last but ABSOLUTELY not least is Zipp! She was my first favorite of G5 (they’re ALL my favorites now, I fear), and I’ve always thought it was so awesome how they had this royal character who was actively against corruption in power AND didn’t want to be treated as royalty! Having a character who’s heir to the throne and very blatantly… DOESN’T want to be/isn’t looking forward to it is something I feel like I haven’t seen a whole lot, and it’s a really interesting perspective to explore. I’m glad they did! I also love how her scenes in episode one of MYM can very much read almost as a trans allegory. I myself am not trans, but my partner and quite literally ALL of my friends are, so it’s still quite meaningful! Plus, I’m someone who chooses to not go by her birth name due to CPTSD, so, from all angles, seeing her wish to be referred to in ways that make HER comfortable and having that be respected gives me the fuzzies. I love her relationship with Pipp too, and I find their bond to be so heartwarming! Portrait of a Princess is one of my FAVORITE episodes of MYM, and it’s just so sweet to see how much they care for each other! Also, slightly less relevant, but them getting their cutie marks one right after the other on the same day was very cute. Very CMC of them. Very Mane 6 of them. Very cute, very demure, very mindful. I hope people still say that, LMAO

All in all, I know G5 had plot holes, ever-improving animation, and a lot of things fans were displeased over. Still, these characters mean something to me, and, even if their story got cut short, they’ll always still be my little ponies. Thanks for listening to me ramble on if you read all this, I know I kind of turned it into an essay haha :”)

A 12 hour flight and one taxi ride to Tokyo Dome later, I found myself walking around backstage while waiting for my boyfriend to come back from his match.

Riley needed this, this reassurance. The certainty that I was indeed madly in love with him as much as he was with me. The certainty that the past was just that - the past, with no room for it being the present again or a possible future.

His over excited voice echoed through the hallway before he turned the corner to find me standing close to the Bullet Club’s locker room doors. Riley’s blue eyes lightened up once he saw me and a wide smile took over his lips “Holy shit! What are you doing here?!” His long legs ran towards me before he picked me up in his arms and captured my lips in a deep kiss.

The sweat from his torso stained the front of my red t-shirt and I could feel a pair of gray eyes deadly staring at us.

“This is G1’s week! The most important week of your career! And since I’m on vacation from work I thought it would be a good idea to stop by for some emotional support”

“Why didn’t you tell me they were gonna give you your vacation this month?! You’re spending the whole month here with me?”

“Yeah. And to be fair I wanted it to be a surprise so…” I smiled widely before brushing his wet hair away from his forehead “Are you ok with having me as a roommate for a month?”

A small snort left Riley’s lips “Oh no, that will be a nightmare! Replacing Ishimori’s loud ass snoring and farts for your gorgeous face and delicious body will be a real struggle. I honestly don’t know if I can handle that” He sighed heavily in fake disappointment before I giggled “You’re so ridiculous”.

Riley’s loud shocked gasp made my giggle turn into a loud laugh

“I thought you loved my sense of humor!”

“I do, my love” I pecked his lips “I really do”

One of the production assistants called for him while pointing at a door down the hall. Riley nodded once before placing me down on the floor “Look, I have to shoot a promo real quick, do you mind waiting for me here?”

“No, not at all. Go ahead, don’t keep them waiting too long”

“Thank you” He pecked my lips “I’ll be back in a blink”

The minute he ran towards the door where he would shoot the promo, I turned around to find the same gray eyes still staring at me.

The eyes I once loved were filled with something I couldn’t quite read. Perhaps it was anger or jealousy, maybe even hurt, no one could really tell.

When it comes to Jay White, no one can tell what’s really going on inside his mind.

“Him?” He frowned “So you’re together now or what? Why am I only knowing about this - whatever it’s going on between the two of you - now?”

“And why would I or Riley tell you anything about our private lives?”

“Why him?”

“Why do you care?”

Jay’s jaw clenched when he didn’t get a proper answer “You know I care about you”

“Funny how your actions prove the exact opposite”

“What the fuck did you want me to do, huh?” He closed the distance between us “She was pregnant! What should I do? Kick her to the curb?”

“And conveniently enough she got pregnant when you asked me for some time apart”

“I’ve never cheated on you if that’s what you’re implying!”

“Right! You didn’t cheat on me, Jay. You just chose her instead”

“For fucks sake I didn’t choose shit! I had no choice, honeybee!”

“Stop calling me that!” I felt my jaw clenching with rage “And yes, you did! You had a choice, Jay. And you made your choice, now live with it!”

“What’s this, huh?” He pointed towards the direction Riley went “Is that your revenge? A little payback for what you think I did to you?”

“Do not assume that I would have a relationship with someone just to spite you, Jay. Trust me, you’re not that important”

A small laugh left his lips “Are you really trying to convince me that you have real feelings for him? Really? That loser? C’mon, bee. We both know he’ll never be on my level”.

The loud noise followed the burning feeling on Jay’s skin when my palm connected to his cheek, “You better watch your mouth! You will never be half of the man Riley is!” I pointed my index finger at his face “And I would be more respectful of his name when I’m around if I were you”

Jay opened his mouth to say something but a pair of hands pushed him away from me.

“What the fuck is your problem?!” Riley squared up to Jay and pulled me behind his back “Next time you get that close to her I’ll break your fucking neck!”

“Oh yeah? I’d like to see you try, tough boy!” Jay smirked “She was mine before being yours! As a matter of fact, she’s still mine. Because you’ll never own her the way I did and still do. But we both know that, don’t we?”

The growl that left Riley’s lips was a warning for the punch he was about to give in Jay’s face. I quickly pulled Riley away from the Bullet Club leader and placed myself in front of him in order to block his attempt of beating Jay up.

“Baby, look at me” I cupped his cheeks with my hands before pulling his head down “Rye, look at me!”

His blue eyes held a haze of confusion and pure rage “Don’t do it, he’s not worth it. C’mon, let’s go back to the hotel-“

“What’s the matter, huh? The great ELP can’t handle the truth?” Jay mocked “Or maybe he can’t handle some competition because deep down he knows he’ll end up being the loser he always is” Jay chuckled before taking a deep breath in “Can you smell it, Riley? Your despair sinking in? Your brain telling you that I’m right? That she IS mine and that she WILL come back to me? You know it’s just a matter of time, right?”

Unable to hear that anymore, I pulled Riley away from the locker room and towards the parking lot while Jay kept screaming behind us.

“That’s right, you little bitch. Run! Run, Riley. And enjoy your last days with her because soon enough she’ll come back to me!”

Really though, for context. I bought a G3 pony in 2013 when I lived in Beijing. I found it in a marker and just... I dunno, I felt something really special. And then FiM was super popular then and I had started watching it before i even left for china, like, 2011 or 2012 or something. And I went with my first real boyfriend and blablabla I met him at 17 and he was 25 and I thought it was love or whatever and so when he broke up with me I was just. Devastated. Worst period of depression in my life. One night I was sobbing and wailing in bed so badly a neighbor banged on the wall and told me to shut up.

I also didn't have any friends and wasn't speaking to my parents and I was living alone and making decent money and had just. No hobbies or interests. I didn't do anything. I decided I wanted to collect ponies so. I did. I just bought everything. And yeah tbh at the time it felt good and I thoroughly enjoyed owning them at the time. I don't regret buying them or anything. It's just been a decade now and I'm ready to move on and let them go, and focus on things I care more about now.

Also I didn't get rid of ALL my horses. I left all my favourites in my room to reorganize later! I still have most of my G1 ponies, all my G2 ponies, my favourite G3 ponies, and my favourite G4s! I kept a brushable of all of them mane 6 and several other faves. All my nightmare moons and Lunas. And all my Equestria girls minis, all of my welovefine figures, my sdcc vinyl scratch, my Funko pop vinyl figures.

If you've seen photos of my tf collection you'll see it's almost entirely loose figures lmfao. I prefer loose. Strongly prefer loose. But my horses like. At this point some are too valuable to even consider opening LOL

i would so move farther up north since rent is cheaper and there’s more nature but the issue is that i don’t have a fucking car (and am also only a g1 driver and barely even practicing my driving anymore) therefore the commute to both school and work (i’ll probably end up finding work in toronto and surrounding areas) will be 1-2 hrs and a nightmare.

so then i’m like well maybe i should stay in toronto and find something to rent here or in the gta, but then you have 1 bedrooms costing $2,500 the least and basements around that same ballpark, and i don’t want to live in a basement! and i don’t want to live in toronto either anymore!

so i’m like ok let’s not go super up North like “cottage county” Barrie, simcoe, etc but maybe Newmarket, aurora, or even whitchurch-stouffville which is also like 30-40 mins away up North BY CAR !!! so i still need a fucking car because relying on public transport is impossible; and then i see that the rent there is still the exact fucking same as it is in toronto, if not slightly less.

I dropped by a law firm today to get my certificates certified true copy for my new workplace. After some brief conversation, the lawyer said that i must read a lot because my command of english was exceptional and that this was hard to come by, even among graduates or even lawyers. I told him that it was fine, there's chatgpt. He then commented that my academic results were great and I had to add on - well Form 6 wasn't that great. On my drive back, it hit me that im in this position where i dont belief in myself. I let the setbacks and failures i encounter get branded into the back of head while i attribute the achievements to just "being lucky" and that it was 'no biggie'. Yes i may have struggled in Form 6 but the fear from that failure and the memory of being 'so stupid' lived until today. But hey, i made it through Primary 6 and Form 3 with straight As, while my parents were mostly absent. I made it through Form 5 with flying colours while caring for myself. I may have stumbled in Form 6 - no straight As but heck, i passed all my papers. Then i graduated with first class honours in uni. And i passed my professional papers by finishing revision in 1 week - because i was planning my G1's birthday party and baked my arse off the week before. I may have met a nightmare of a senior manager who deemed me unworthy because i could not do consolidation when i interned, but i found my testimonial from my first work place today - and I obviously met expectations and WAS NOT unworthy to them. The takeaway from today is that, my successes outweigh my so called failures. And those failures were a necessary part of my growth. Such as recognising a gut feeling of when a person is going to be toxic to me by that feeling the ex senior manager gave me. I need to remember, that i am worthy. If i wasnt a good enough, worthy enough, smart enough human, I would not have gotten all those As or solved all those work problems. I need to believe in myself more and treat me with a bit more appreciation. PS: This lawyer certified my documents at no charge today, but he gave me so much more than certified documents. i walked out of his office with so much gratitute and new found appreciation for myself. I'll remember to pay this kind gesture forward in future whenever the chance comes by.

Previously on Living a Nightmare;

Riley received an AMAZING chance card and jumped all the way to the top of the comedy career! He quickly became an overnight sensation and is now a one star celebrity! This is definitely Riley's biggest accomplishment and it means we'll have to spend a lot less time at work as the legacy progresses which I'm happy about!

Immediately after being promoted, Riley was flown out to Del Sol Valley to film his very FIRST comedy special titled "Hot and Heavy". It was a resounding success! "Hot and Heavy" was one of the most popular comedy albums of the entire year, and Riley has the plaques and posters to prove it. His life has skyrocketed in a very short amount of time. He's got a beautiful girlfriend, a job that he loves and grand ideas for what the future holds for him.

Monica decided she was ready for more and autonomously asked Riley if she could move in! They're both so infatuated with each other and don't want to waste any more time not being together.

First of all, I had to extend the short lifespans just a LITTLE bit. Short is TOO short y'all, I can't. I still made them shorter than the normal lifespan. Lifespans are as follows:

Baby: 2 days

Infant: 6 days

Toddler: 8 days

Child: 11 days

Teen: 14 days

Young Adult: 18 days

Adult: 25 days

Elder: 8 days

We'll play out this first generation with these lifespans and see how it goes, I may have to adjust it a bit but I'm not sure. I really did not realize how difficult this challenge was going to be, because I get attached to my gameplay sims very fast. They're all gonna DIE so quickly, pray for me. I'm honestly excited to see how much progress we can make in a short amount of time though.

As far as future plans, I'm completely over Strangerville and it's annoying NPC's. I did not beat the Strangerville story and I was using a mod to toggle the story on and off, and sometimes I would forget to toggle it and it's just so frustrating. there should ABSOLUTELY be an option in the gameplay settings to turn the story off.

We are officially going to be moving to Chestnut Ridge! I figured it would be fun to try out some horse ranch gameplay and own a huge ranch. We're going to be taking out a loan in order to afford it, and Riley is going to keep working for a while as a top comedian before he retires and dedicates all of his time to the ranch. We're going to be attempting to survive by selling nectar, breeding horses/doing competitions, and farming! Monica may also pick up crocheting or cross stitching as a side hobby. Maybe canning?! I haven't done any canning at all yet! I know it makes little to no sense for them to be moving to a huge ranch from a very rundown home, but since Riley shot to stardom so fast I like to think he realized the first thing he wanted was a nicer home.

I think it fits Riley PERFECTLY. He's always wanted to make his own nectar and being a country boy at heart, Chestnut Ridge won't feel too far from home. Monica is also an animal enthusiast and VERY excited to get some animals, so it's going to be great for both of them. They've been doing some house hunting lately and they've almost found the perfect place. I've already moved some of their friends to Chestnut Ridge and given all of the original Chestnut Ridge townies little makeovers! I also added a couple more sims to the world just to fill it up a bit more. Riley and Monica will be making TONS of friends I'm sure. There's a bunch of couples ready to have babies at the same time as them which I'm excited about, gotta make sure our kids have friends!

I know I've been widlly inconsistent and have rarely been posting gameplay, but I truly believe that's about to change as I dive back into this legacy and get things rolling again!

(Bear with me, most of my Haligtree gameplay knowledge comes secondhand.)

I don't know about the 2nd gens, but it would make sense to me if the 1st gens don't live in the Haligtree proper. Simply put, platforming around branches and precarious stairways would be a nightmare for g1 albinaurics. They have their wolves as mobility aids, but I have to imagine that wolves with their blunt claws and lack of gripping abilities would have a difficult time navigating the canopy as well. Wolves are not cats.

Obviously, if correct this is an accessibility issue, but it doesn't seem to be a malicious one. For one, Elphael is probably not a centrally planned city. We know that Miquella planted the Haligtree as a sapling, and I doubt that he, Malenia, and his early followers were living in tents during the decades it took for the sapling to grow to its current massive size.

While I'm sure Miquella had an initial blueprint for the city in mind, Elphael probably began as a small settlement around the sapling and then grew with the tree over the years, with new additions springing up to accommodate new arrivals/a growing population.

Also, if we assume that most of the albinaurics we find in the surrounding areas find their origin with Loretta's pilgrimage, then it's likely that the albinaurics were late arrivals to the Haligtree. Elphael must have already been established and known as a safe haven in order for Loretta to organize the pilgrimage in the first place. It would make perfect sense to me if the albinaurics arrived at a mostly-complete Elphael, took one look at the city's nightmare-platforming architecture, and said "Thanks, we'll stay in Ordina where there's solid ground. Our wolves like it better here anyway."

consecrated snowfield Albinaurics appear to have cloudy eyes compared to Liurnia or even Mohgwyn Albinaurics. any guesses as to why? There is a fulgurbloom field nearby their area but I don't recall them seeming to have ingested the plant.

Similarly to the Albinaurics in Mohgwyn palace (who swore themselves to Mohg) these ones have sworn themselves to Miquella’s Haligtree.

They seem to have taken on some traits of the haligtree (again much like the bloody albinaurics), and are even able to use some haligtree incantations.

SO THE HALLOWEEN SPECIAL!!!!!! i loved loved loved it. LOVE a good body horror, love a good body swap, love a reflection on the difference between mechanical & organic beings, LOVED THE LORE DROPPED. ik it kinda fell to the wayside what with. sighs dreamily. cryack <3 and all. but the little drops of "cybertronian eyes can distinguish different kinds of alloys from each other as easily as we can track movement" and "cybertronians have teeth as a weapon, nothing more" were SOOO good for me. and i ADORE the immersants as an act of worldbuilding too, i think the idea of a joyous & celebrated return to the planet is a beautiful take on a death-positive cultural movement, and i LOVE seeing the "living" aspect of "living planet" really pushed to the brink.

also what the fuck is up with STAR huh? i love that we're getting a more nuanced portrayal of them so early, i adored the focus on the fact that starscream is a repressive, avoidant person who really really really does not want to introspect, and i love what that does for her in the egg department yk? i think portraying starscream as, like, ashamed of his reputation, yet reliant on it, and altogether just trying not to think about his own personal like. everything. is SUCH an interesting way to take that "cowardice" character trait. its not neccessarily that shes a coward, its just easier to lash out & make your fears external than it is to actually deal with emotions, both negative (the shame cyrack mentioned) & positive (her love for her mentor). i'm also really really excited to see where we take this notion that starscream isnt as malicious as he seems? the "no genocide" thing, and this whole like ~deep patriotism~ thing the decepticons have going on rn are both super interesting and i cant wait to see how that develops!

tbqh i think the nationalism aspect can go VERY badly and im expecting it to get a bit heavy handed, and im fairly certain that starscreams "hey genocides bad" thing, combined with some other lines & concept sin early idw2, are just foreshadowing for the eventual organic genocide thing thatll happen during wartime, and that will probably be very insensitive and heavy handed. ive resigned myself to it.

Pls explain the difference between legacy vs deluxe vs warrior class? I feel like they vaguely mean something related to combiners

Ahhh, anon! You have encountered the way in which Transformers is like Starbucks: completely non indicative names for sizes of things!

(OK, mostly. 'Legacy' is not a size class. Legacy is the current collector-oriented toyline, so called because it has toys in it from many different continuities.)

But the other ones here are the toys' size classes. Hasbro has a... semi consistent way to designate at a glance the rough size and price point of each toy. So any given toyline will have a class of toys that is, say, very small and around £11 a pop. And one that's average and £20 a pop. And so on.

.......they will have you BELIEVE that this makes things simple, as surely this way you will know, no matter different toylines, gimmicks, whatever, what Kind Of Toy any given product is! And what it will cost! Except in reality that "consistent" labelling is constantly changed in small ways between toylines, so remembering what means which price point in what toyline is a fucking nightmare.

Still. Generally, they are as follows:

There will be a very small 'pocket money' line of teeny tiny toys for cheap. Traditionally, these have been called 'legends' scale, and that is what the fandom uses regardless of what Hasbro is calling it this week, tbh. Recently, they're calling them 'core class'. For some bullshit marketing reason. These are little wee toys that you nag your Mum to buy you in the supermarket and sometimes she agrees to shut you up.

Next up is 'deluxe' class. These are the 'standard' size of toy, usually. Think of, oh I dunno, Jazz. A normal Jazz toy is a deluxe class. It's the usual scale for the average character and often makes up a bulk of the line. (I think this is what Earthspark's 'Warrior' class is- it was for Cyberverse.) wait no there are ALSO deluxes there.

Then you will usually find 'voyager' toys. These are still standard toys, but they're bigger! Sometimes it's because the character is a bigger character in fiction, to keep scale, but equally as often it's because these are popular characters who people want to see big, fancy toys of. You will get a lot of Voyager Megatrons! Or seekers, or whoever's a fan favourite at the moment! (...maybe this is the earthspark warrior class? those toys look bigger.)

Then you have what is usually called 'leader' class. This is called that because it is the Expensive Optimus And Megatron Toys class! (I kid. Sort of.) But also, again, big special one-offs will often go here, like when it was a Big Deal that Jetfire, a G1 favourite who rarely gets toys as big as his character is supposed to be, got a fancy Leader class toy recently. These are the toys you get as a big treat for Christmas as a kid.

Finally, in terms of now-standard sizes, you have 'titan' class. These toys are the fuck off huge £150 Metroplex ones that make everyone's wallets cry. They are pretty much exclusively just gonna be characters who are canonically so big that you gotta make toys of them an Event. These are the ones you buy and realise ah. Wait. I live in an apartment. Where does THIS go. Kids who get these are. IDK, lucky. LMAO.

This is not always the case, as I said toylines swap things around a bit terminology, but generally the above is a good guideline. You then get things where toyline gimmicks introduce other kinds of 'bonus' classes, e.g. smaller-than-legends toys in Siege for the battlemaster gimmick. (This is why e.g. Rung's toy is teeeeeeny tiny, smaller even than legends class; he's a battlemaster!)

One final point. I have been using 'size class' as a shorthand here, and usually, yes, it's size that matters. But more accurately, the things that dictate what class a toy is in are a) amount of plastic used (which usually, but not always, translates to 'size') and b) engineering complexity. When designing toys, the class they are in dictates how many individual parts, joints, etc the designers get to work with. So, for example, Studio Series 86 Hot Rod is a Voyager class, but much smaller than most Voyager toys. Why? He's really overengineered for his size to make him as perfect as possible in both modes and give him a ludicrously specific transformation scheme (so he matches an iconic scene in the 86 movie). You get the extra quality, rather than the extra size, for that one.

This is about last stand of the wreckers and it includes SPOILERS. I also really wished someone had warned me about how bad it gets. Honest to god I’m putting this under a cut because it deserves a trigger warning.

Warnings: violence, mentions of that one Saving Private Ryan scene, I shouldn’t have read the series at midnight.

The only reason idw hasn’t perished for being too gory is because they are robots not humans, Springer gets HIS FACE PUNCHED OFF and that scene where it’s finally explained by Ironfist via flashback what Impactor did- how jaded everyone but Springer was to his actions.

No one helped Springer, they watched as he desperately tried to save the Povans. I wanna hold that boy close now oh my god.

And oh my lord the TWO SIDEDNESS. Especially Rotormaster’s panels about being an excellent flier! And he just admits he was lying??? AND THEN GETS SHOT IN THE FACE??

Fun thing is: I connect with transformers more than I do with humans. Call it my autism or something but I would much rather live in a world where gender doesn’t exist and I’m a big tall robot. That being said, I think this hit me way harder than it should’ve.

Impactor in the beginning showing his weakness too. It’s not super obvious but you can tell he DOES NOT want to go back to g-9. He is traumatized and despite his literal war crimes I would give him a cup of chocolate milk. He needs to be comforted so bad. All of them do.

TW: death and Saving Private Ryan

There were only 4 deaths. Only 4 wrecker deaths and each one felt like my heart was being crushed. It was disgusting, vile, brutal just for the hell of it. I saw my favourite characters at their lowest. It was awful. The last time I felt like this I was watching the saving private Ryan D-Day scene. It didn’t make me cry but it gave me nightmares for three days. I really hope that sins of the wreckers is gentler.

The comic is a masterpiece and I commend the people who wrote it. The details and the writing made me feel for ironfist, pyro, and verity. Characters I did not know prior to reading the comic. I seriously felt like I was there with them and that’s probably the reason I was so affected by all the tragedy. I personally got to understand springer and Impactor a little better, and know why Fort Max goes into a fit in mtmte. I can’t be mad or upset about it because it was good- but I really think more fans should put warnings on the comics before you read them. I read some of the brutal DC comics and was not this affected by them. Probably something to do with attachment to the characters.

Still, I love it as much as I hate it. It really opened my eyes to how bad it gets in the war- as much as I want it to be the funni g1 stuff. IDW is great but I honestly think you should be over 16 to read that- I’m lucky I only read MTMTE when I was little.

Also this: I love prowl he’s my asshole. He makes calls for better or for worse and unfortunately he’s the guy you complain about when his call goes wrong. Still- I wanna kick his Praxian ass for not showing any empathy. Ultra Magnus is doing better than him (even tho I feel like he was kinda ooc)

Anyways that’s my two cents on Last Stand. It’s really bad but it’s done really well.
