Nightmare was allies with Wily. Nightmare’d heard of Megaman, and he personally did a little bit of research (which involved invading WIly’s dreams and scanning his memories a little but he wouldn’t tell Wily that) to find out what the kid looked like. Er, the ‘man’.

After a bit of looking, a bit of cheating by looking through dreams and what not, he found who he looked for and stalked him. Illusioned himself to be invisible to the eye, until he found a spot good enough to use to his advantage.

Nightmare weighed his options. He could try to trick this man.. Boy.. Megaperson. Or, he could just go in, claws at the ready, and just absolutely shred him. Like cheese on a cheesegrater. Or he could just torment him.

Trick and torment, mayhaps? Yes, that’ll work.

Nightmare racked his brain as he thought of those bots that Wily had. He couldn’t spawn things that were robots, but he could spawn them as metal demons. Which is exactly what he did. Their designs were a little corroded and off, sure, but they’d work.

Nightmare laid flat on the ground and silently willed his creatures to try and attack him. He snapped his illusion off, allowing himself and his slightly bootlegged bots to be seen. They tried to smash at Nightmare’s face, not even damaging him one bit, but Nightmare knew how to play a victim.

Sort of. he knew how to be dramatic.

“Ow! Ow! I’m being attacked, won’t someone help me??”

Good theatrics and false desperation in your voice there, Nightmare, definetly going to fool maybe like basically no one with that act. Except for maybe the stupidly heroic. But regardless, he was actually getting beat up so that solidifies it or whatever.

In terms of his distance from Megaman, he was maybe a couple meters or so off his current beating path.

He’s used to seeing Copy Bots. It was in Wily’s nature to make them but...Not one this accurate; And the other Copy Bots weren’t but, if this one was so accurate...Maybe it was friendly?

“You’re a Copy Bot aren’t you?” Points to the other ‘him’. “Why are you here? are you going to cause trouble? Because if that’s the case, I’ll have to stop you!”

headcanon + holidays?

Considering his purpose, celebrations and holidays were nonexistent in his database, and it wasn't until talking with Rock and Roll that they enlightened him on what these human traditions were. After learning about them, his instant favorite was Thanksgiving, mostly because the copious buttered rolls it's a time to spend with your loved ones and express just how much you appreciate them and the good things in life.
