Replaying AC6 (its like my 8th run at this point) and I'm only now beginning to wonder why lots of the AC designs you see from characters dont have a more reliable weapon in their right hand.

The only ones that come to mind that do are Rusty, Nightfall, and Iguazu (using kinetic weapons specifically) while many others opt for a more explosive option in their right hand and their main weapon in the left hand.

Some examples of that are Sulla and Volta, both opting for an explosive in the right hand and a more aggressive close-range weapon in the off hand. (Not to mention poor Ziyi who only has small grenade launchers in either hand)

Having learned a bit more about the community and older games I suspect its because many AC vets found it was better to play the game by holding the controller upside down like this

and thus would select a reliable primary for their left hand. So this strikes me as a subtle nod to the series' past, as well as a statement on the character/AC and their design theories/preferences.

catching Ziyi with Rokumonsen brainrot so here is my proposal for the family dynamics of the RLF

(what’s with Rokumonsen having ALL-MIND parts but it’s never explained? Is he also ALL-MIND spy? Did O’Keeffe quit working for AM partly because he discovered she was also spying on the RLF even though one condition for him to work for her is she leaving them tf alone? Flatwell’s AC is Japanese for “wings” so does he and Rokumonsen bond over being a weeb together ? Is Flatwell doomed to be involved with AM’s spies? (Sulla pre-heating the oven outside: hey-)

Do Ziyi and Rusty even know each other exist? I feel like they don’t. Flatwell adopted her after Rusty had left to start his infiltration to the Vespers and Flatwell never told either of them, to avoid… complications. Ziyi only knew the “Rusty” boy disappeared. basically Rusty went to live with dad for years, come back and found out he now has a little sister and another guy she insists is dad. But there’s simply no way he’s accepting that. 621 is inching out the door as we speak cuz what the hell is with your family Rusty-)

Yeah why the fuck is the captain of Arquebus a lower rank than Little Ziyi. I love Little Ziyi and she deserves the world but she's an anime protagonist piloting her first scrap bucket tank and Maeterlinck is like an elite bad guy captain antagonist that can't be competed with until season 3.

It took me an hour or 2 of high stakes dog-fighting to defeat Maeterlinck and I did it by the skin of my teeth. Against Ziyi I lazily flew in circles around her until I broke her stance with my claws and execution-headshot her mech with a mag-lev rifle point blank. It took 45 seconds.

... Is Ziyi after Maeterlinck as a breather fight? We'd do that during endurance sparring tests. Give someone who was testing someone who was younger/smaller/weaker/gentler as a breather fight in between killers.

It never felt good to know you were considered a breather fight.

Poor Ziyi.

Going with a different approach this time. This run takes place in an alternate timeline where Ziyi is capture by Snail and subsequently "re-educated" to do his bidding.
