Can you do designs for rocket and big jet from little einsteins like you did for the magic school bus? The design you did was so cool!

Okay I DONT have an excuse as to why this took so long and I had to rewrite this post like. 3 times because tumblr kept crashing. This is a few hours worth of work performed over two days and it took me a MONTH I’m SO SORRY.

Little einsteins isn’t a series I’m attached to as much as I am the magic school bus, but this was fun! I rewatched some episodes to remember what it was like and that is. So surreal. The beeping aliens come for me. I have a few nitpicks about how this came out but I’m going to tell my brain to shut up so I can post this and fix them later. And ALSO I need to do the other ask I haveeee so

you know as much as i loved little einsteins as a kid i have to admit they kinda failed in their mission. they made the show going "okay we're going to use this as a platform to teach kids about classical art and music" except now as a 20-smth when i hear classical music i do not think "oh i know this, it's 'humoresque number 7 in g flat major opus.101'" i instead just think "oh holy shit guys it's melody the music pet"

If the group doesn't have a name I'd like to ask you not to submit it, simply because I worry about running out of room for the individual options in the poll without a group name to use.

What kind of musical group doesn't matter. Idols, bands, orchestras, a dance group, etc. So long as they are musical and a group, they count. Although if they are in a group but the only reason they are musical is because they are in a musical, then they don't count. There has to be something else.

Dannymay 2024 Day 15: Field Trip

Little Einsteins

We’re going on a trip in our favourite Rocket Ship. Soaring through the Realms, Team Phantom!

Team Phantom were zooming through the Ghost Zone, mapping it out. Danny was at the controls, Sam was on lookout, and Tucker tracking their location using his PDA and infini-map.

Currently they were travelling through an aerial ecto-biome, flitting between misty purple clouds and skimming through low-density green ectoplasm. Then Danny all of a sudden put on the brakes.

“Hey can you guys hear something?” Danny asked as he looked around.

“Oh yeah,” Sam agreed, “ain’t that Beethoven’s Ode to Joy? But where is it coming from?” They were the only sentient things as far as the eyes could see. A little satellite dish sprung from Tucker’s PDA, beeping and turning as it tried to track down the source.

“It’s coming from that direction,” Tucker pointed down below them.

“OK let’s go check it out!” Danny swerved the Spectre Speeder and pulled it into a steep dive.

The world around them rushed from an aerial expanse and transformed into a rolling field of giant emerald stalks. The Spectre Speeder trundled on through the reeds before coming to a sudden halt.

There, at what looked like a bus stop and sitting on a toadstool, was a beast-sized ecto-caterpillar excitedly singing Beethoven.

“Huh would you look at that?”

Danny, Sam, and Tucker watched with bemused surprise as a knee-high iguana-bus then rushed past them and came to a halt at the bus stop. The iguana-bus lowered its back.

They realised that the riding passengers (caterpillars all) were also singing Beethoven. The caterpillar at the the bus stop clambered down from its toadstool and entered on the iguana-bus, joining in with the chorus. The caterpillar made its way towards a free seat on the iguana-bus’ back. With a loud honk, and a vroom, vroom, the iguana-bus went on its way.

Unfortunately as it severed round the nearby bend, the caterpillar who hadn’t yet properly sat in a seat, toppled and fell off the back of the iguana-bus.

“Oh no!” Danny rushed to save the ecto-caterpillar from a bad fall. Cradling the fist-sized caterpillar in his hands, Danny asked whether the caterpillar was OK. The caterpillar sung a note of gratitude and reassurance before warbling to be put down. Danny obliged and the trio watched the caterpillar inch its way down the road, determinedly chasing after the long-gone bus.

“Do you want a ride?” Sam offered. The ecto-caterpillar looked up in surprise at the offer before trilling with a questioning tone. “Yeah, it’s not a problem, of course we’ll take you,” Sam smiled, “where is it that you need to go? (melodious hums and whistles) The Musical Tree of Many Colours?”

“Oh I know where that is, we’ve already mapped that place out” Tucker announced, “It’s not far from here.”

“Great!” Sam clapped, “We’re going to take you to the Musical Tree of Many Colours. Welcome aboard.”

“OK so right up ahead is the Musical Highway, and we’re going to want to take it,” Tucker directed. “It’ll save us from having to navigate the Moving Mountains.”

“Ok got it,” Danny steered the Speeder onto the floating strip of music bars hovering among the ecto-clouds. A road sign saying Allegro stared them down.

“What does Allegro mean?” Danny asked.

“Fa-AAAAST!” Sam screamed as the Speeder accelerated to top speed. The Speeder flew down the highway like it was a rollercoaster. Once off the highway, the group slowed down. The ecto-caterpillar mourned a low pathetic note.

“You’re hungry?” Sam asked.

“You know what me too,” Tucker said, “Hey Danny if you take a hard-left there’s a drive-thru where we can catch some grub.”

“Sure OK,” and Danny took them to get some food.

The trio looked down in disbelief as the ecto-caterpillar scoffed down a truly humongous pile of leaves, from a bowl that was bigger than it, happily humming in satisfaction.

“I’m impressed,” Danny remarked, “that was like twice your body size in leaves and you ate it all.”

“Man, you really were hungry,” Tucker added, speaking around his own food.

Sam slurped down her smoothie, rolling her eyes.

“Hang on guys,” Sam warned as she looked into the distance, “I think a really bad storm is coming.”

Danny, Tucker, and the ecto-caterpillar all looked up. Approaching at an alarming rate, thunderous, menacing clouds were rolling towards them.

Danny had the Speeder pick up speed. “Do you think we can out-run it?”

The world around them flashed. Green lightning blitzed them, and hurtling rain smashed against their Speeder. Wildly rocking back and forth, Danny struggled to keep them on their path. Then one bolt of lightning struck true and the Speeder crashed down into an stormy ocean of watery ectoplasm below.

Getting his bearings, Danny was surprised to see that there were instruments floating in the ocean with them.

“Where are we?” Danny groaned. Tucker, fixing his glasses on his face, checked the infi-map.

“Apparently we’re in the Orchestra Ocean,” he declared.

The shouting trumpets, the bellows of percussion, the cries of strings clamoured outside.

“You don’t say,” Sam commented dryly, as she looked over the ecto-caterpillar reassuring herself that the ghost was fine.

“Awesome, now do you know how we can get out of this Orchestra Ocean?”

“Huh?”

“Danny has been struggling with flying us out of the ocean.” Sam pointed out to the grunting Danny, pushing on all thrusters to drag the Speeder out of the tumultuous ocean.

“Oh erm, maybe go with the flow?” Tucker sheepishly offered. Danny chuckled at the pun before deciding to do just that. Swaying the Speeder side-to-side rhythmically in time music, the Speeder danced out of the ocean’s grasp.

Back in the air, the gang made a final push to the Musical Tree of Many Colours. Leaving the storm behind, the gang finally arrived at a grove in a rich verdant forest.

A mighty tree jubilantly singing Beethoven’s Ode to Joy stood proud of tall with their harmonious leaves of many colours. Setting down next to the tree, the gang disembarked from the Speeder. They were the first ones to arrive, as the spotted in the distance that the iguana-bus was only now making its way to the Musical Tree of Many Colours.

The ecto-caterpillar profusely thanked the trio for their help. Then it crawled its way up the tree, hung upside down on a branch, and before any one of the trio could ask what it was doing, the ecto-caterpillar did a metamorphosis speedrun before their very eyes.

Cracking out of the purple chrysalis, was a beautiful butterfly.

“Congratulations,” Team Phantom cheered.
