I don’t know about everyone else but I desperately needed some soft taivan content after the last episode so this blurb was born ,,, my girls deserve so much <3 I hope you guys enjoy!!

Van didn’t usually regress this young. In fact, Tai didn’t think she’d been so small since the night of the wolf attack. But in the wreckage of the last night, and the crashing loss of hope - Van was dropping, small and fast. Tai noticed, because of course she did. She noticed the way Van shifted further away from Lottie and into her girlfriend’s side, she noticed how she brought the sleeve of her sweater up into her mouth. She noticed the more subtle things too - the quiver in Van’s bottom lip, the tears, which Van usually kept hidden, blooming in her eyes. With everyone else fussing over Melissa, Hannah or Lottie, Tai took Van’s hand and gently guided her girl into their hut. Once the privacy curtain was pulled, the waterworks began. Van slumped down into their makeshift bed, shaking with little sobs. “I know, I know buddy,” Tai cooed, curling up next to Van and pulling her little into her arms. Van burrowed into Tai’s embrace, shaking from the crash of adrenaline leaving her body. Tai found Van’s bear - Mr. Tanner - and pressed him into her arms. “Look who Mama found, he’s glad you came home.” Van sniffled, pulling her bear tightly to her chest and fiddling with the tip of his ear which had been burnt in the cabin fire. There was a pained cry from outside the cabin - most likely Melissa’s - and Van shoved her face into the bear’s matted fur, tears returning fast and heavy. Tai cupped her hand against Van’s ear which was facing away from her chest. “We’re safe, we’re safe,” She whispered again and again until even she believed it. She rocked and cooed at and held Van but the girl’s tears didn’t cease. She cried out for her mother, and despite her caring for the regressed girl, Tai knew she wasn’t calling for her.

“H-home,” Van choked out through sobs. She clutched the front of Tai’s shirt, looking up at her with pleading blue eyes.

“Home soon,” Tai promised, rocking Van back and forth in her arms. She hated lying to her baby - she didn’t know if they’d be home soon, if they’d be home ever. But she knew she was going to try harder than anything else to get them there. Not even for herself anymore, but for Van. Van needed to go home.

“Home soon,” Van parroted, tears slowing as she nestled herself against Tai’s chest. Tai gently stroked her fingers through Van’s curls, gently working out the knots.

“Maybe they brought something yummy with them,” Tai suggested, wanting to cheer up Van. “Maybe hot chocolate, or a protein bar.” Van perked up at this, her eyes glimmering at the suggestion. “Maybe we can ask Hannah a little bit later,” Tai cooed, tracing her finger gently along one of Van’s scars.

“New blankies?” Van questioned. Tai nodded, there had been new blankets back at the camp. As Van had pointed out, they didn’t need any of the supplies - but, it didn’t hurt to have a little reminder of home. A little something normal. Van yawned, her head growing heavy against Tai’s shoulder.

“Come on, I think it’s time someone has a little nap,” Tai cooed gently. Van scrunched up her nose in distaste and whined. “Mr. Tanner is tired, he must’ve missed you last night.” Van looked down at her teddy bear, still tightly gripped in her hand. She yawned again, succumbing to her need for sleep. She let Tai slide her onto the plane chairs which made up their bed and tuck her into their blankets.

“Lay with me?” Van asked quickly, reaching out as she sensed Tai’s eagerness to get back out and discuss with the others. Tai smiled softly,

“Of course little bear,” She lay down next to Van, letting the little curl up against her side. Van wrapped her fingers around the fabric of Tai’s shirt, comforted by her Mama’s presence and growing thought that someday soon they’d be home.

nat is more experienced than van and has to do the rolling/packing the bowl/lighting or whatnot they need for whatever they’re specifically smoking out of

the first time they smoke together neither of them plan on regressing or even bringing the topic up

they’re at van’s trailer cause his mom is mia for a bit and there’s nothing better to do in the heat of summer quickly approaching than sit in front of the ac and watch nat roll a joint to share

“you sure this is a good idea nat? we have practice later . . .” van had muttered, feeling less cool than ever for even questioning this decision when he was the one to ask if nat wanted to come back to his place after catching nat sitting outside of his own trailer listening to his parents fighting inside

“we don’t have to if you don’t want to” nat has paused his motions to look up at van but only got a harsh head shake from the other boy

“no light it . just- jackie can’t find out , she’ll kill us both” — “yeah , yeah palmer , just take it and inhale”

an hour and two joints later , van had felt himself start to slip into little space despite his best efforts not to

he tries to hide his change in headspace and focus on the tv that was now playing lowly across the room from them but - it was a kid show playing , and that only made it worse for him

“vanny you okay?” his head shot up at the use of a nickname as nat rarely used anything other than van’s name or last name

“Mm.” it wasn’t convincing and apparently nat had already caught onto him as he simply slid in next to van and pulled his head onto his shoulder with a content sigh

they had talked about their regression before this and new the other regressed but had never actually been one on one while small together

van knew a clear sign nat was small was him inciting physical touch without any preamble talk of it

they sat together for a long while in silence letting the cool air of the ac waft over them until nat broke it with a small confession that he hadn’t wanted to go back home or to practice and he wished they could just stay here and keep smoking

and van . . . he knew they’d both pay for it later but he agreed anyway and called tai to let her know neither boy would be at practice but that everything was fine - she could tell from van’s voice that he wasn’t exactly telling her everything but let it slide once van promised to call if anything serious happened

with that - they lit another blunt and started to talk about everything and anything

van regresses a little older than nat so he was doing most of the storytelling while nat laid back on the couch and listened with all the intent in the world

this started a routine for the boys to hang out at vans place and smoke/regress when nobody was around

occasionally they’d have someone from the team there with them to either act as a caregiver or regress with them depending on who it was

it was never anything like a party or even that exciting but acted as a good outlet for both boy to deal with whatever might’ve been going on in their respective lives

sometimes serious topics would get brought up - when nat snuck in at night after a bad night with his parents, after van fought with his mother before she left again, if someone on the team said something to either boy that hit a particular nerve, etc etc

Isn't it crazy that you can be in a relatively comfortable position where every single person knows about your sexuality and relationship (and is absolutely cool with it), but the simple reminder that the world in general isn't like that, can immediately throw you off?

They are so scared here! The danger they're faced with is in the past (and nothing happened) and they are still SO SCARED. My babies!! Van looking around, Tai searching Van's eyes once she processed the information... so freaking good!

Somebody knew the whole time and that was the thing they were most afraid of.

Openly and proudly declaring herself "a handy lesbian" one moment, terrified that they were perceived as such "in the real world" the next.

Little!Yellowjackets Soccer Training Outfitboards pt.1

I like to think the girls used to get together every couple of weeks and set aside time to just be small and do kids soccer drills n coach Scott would run it for them n they’d all bring their favourite snacks to share n have a play date after n it always helped them bond as a team <3 also I’ll probs do another part later so lmk any characters u wanna see !!

started before the crash at one of their many sleepovers at tai’s house!

van is superrrrr anxious & shy about her regression at first but tai takes to the cg role in no time at all

lost of playing outside!

they use the excuse that they’re practicing to try and get to nationals but it mostly dissolves into van giggling while keeping the ball from tai and tai pretending to be worse than she is so van can win

van’s a kiddo regressor but can sometimes fall to the toddler range

tai has no preference for what age range van falls to and is prepared for everything

she always has a first aid kit on standby for when van inevitably scrapes up her knee or gets sticks stuck in her hair

after the crash, van does her best to not regress or even talk about the possibility

they’re trying to survive and van thinks her regressing would only be a bad thing in a time like this

of course tai is adamant that if she needs to regress she should and nothing should stop her from coping, especially with what’s going on

the first time van does regress in the wilderness it’s in private while it’s still warm out and tai & her can go to the lake for a bit

the others don’t find out van’s a little until winter comes and she’s bound to the cabin because it’s too cold to go out and play

tai is more nervous than van is about the other finding out, but that’s mostly because van is too small in her headspace to think about it, mostly everyone is okay with van regressing with a few exceptions but everybody comes around eventually

van & nat start to play together by the fire while tai & travis watch over them

tai takes a lot of pride in how she cares for van and how happy she can make her kiddo

van’s regression doesn’t become emotional for her until after jackie dies & they’re forced to eat her

she struggles a lot with feeling ‘worthy’ of regressing since jackie lost the rest of her youth

taissa always logics her way out of that spiral and most times it ends in van involuntarily regressing and curling up with tai as tai tells her a story

van is ofc the groups storyteller but she loves it when tai tells her made up stories while she’s small, and she may add her two cents every now and then but tai doesn’t mind & welcomes van to show her creativity

once it’s warm again, lots of games of tag & made up adventure games ensue now that the other girls know about van’s regression and she doesn’t have to hide or be worried

tai absolutely thrives seeing how much light returns to van during the spring/summer
