He liked the video of her trying on different clothes from all over the world, room tours, decorating, gaming videos, vlogs, but he got more into her once he found out she did music. He had to be the first person to ever really be her fan in his eyes, of course. He loved her for a very long time.

Insights come, through original content

It's definitely worth the time, to watch as much original content as possible. BIG note to self.

I've watched all four seasons of Bon Voyage, and just finished the four years of Summer Package. Lots of stuff that I have seen bits and pieces of before, in a lot of compilation videos and "analysis" videos. VERY interesting to see all of it within it's original context, in each show.

Yeah, there's a bit of Jikookery as people call it, in some of it. Most of it I had seen out of context, during my first couple of years in the fandom (when I didn't have any idea about anything). There are a few moments here and there that I haven't seen before which are primarily touches, and super subtle stuff.

The interesting thing is how people have taken so many of those moments out of context to support a story that they are presenting, in their compilations or "analysis". Yes, it can be said that other parts of the fandom have done the same thing, for the same purpose.

One of the moments from BV in Malta that everyone has seen comes to mind, here as I type. It is when they are all at a restaurant, and Jimin and Jungkook are seated across from each other. They reach out at the same time, to offer a bite of food to each other. That is a favorite clip that j-kookers love to use, to prove their theory. I mean, I do think it is cute and sweet, and I do believe that Jimin and Jungkook are together (in a closeted relationship), I just think that it's really a disservice when people leave out the other part of that scene. You know, when Jimin is then offering bites of his food to the other members, too. It wasn't just a Jimin and Jungkook thing, like is portrayed in many of the YT videos I have seen...

The other things I noted are how the editing was just so chopped up and discombobulated at times. Like When you see Jimin literally sitting down right next to Jungkook and then suddenly it is edited and next thing you see is Jimin on the opposite side of the group, not sitting where he had just sat down a second before. lol... Yeah, there's a TON of that crappy editing in all of the series and shows. I'm guessing that as they got into 2017, 2018, 2019 that they had to do a lot more editing as Jimin and Jungkook kinda started being more open with their antics. lol...

I kind of understand why people like to create those videos over on YT. There's thousands of them probably, and literally millions of viewers who like that type of thing. I was one who watched a bunch of it, as I mentioned before. It was before I understood what a lot of it was, and before I understood how much manipulation there was.

What's next on tap for me? I'm not sure. There's a ton of content still for me to make my way through. It has been enlightening to say the least. I do see the shift in the way that Jimin and Jungkook were from the early years into 2019, from what I have watched so far. There's so much there that clearly shows that they had particular types of experiences with each other, behind closed doors. I mean, anyone who has ever had a lover would see it in their energy(if you sense or see energy) and in the way that they would touch each other. It is as clear as the sun in the sky.

I can only imagine the complexities that the members had to navigate in their relationships with each other, their communication of how they felt to each other, and in working out HOW to have two members in a close intimate relationship within the group. Talk about a complicated situation. That puts it mildly. No wonder Namjoon had so many moments when they were in front of cameras, audiences, interviewing and such. No freakin' wonder.

Sorry for this long ramble..... I've just been thinking a lot about them and about what I have seen in these shows. Like I have mentioned, I hadn't seen much of the original stuff that was on Weverse, sold on DVD, or behind pay walls. I didn't actually understand what the heck "Summer Package" meant! lol... There's a TON of content that I have still to watch. This will be an ongoing thing for me, during these months while we wait for June 2025. There's probably going to be more rambles like this one, to come.... 😁💜

My favorite k-pop videos

This list is likely to change depending on what day I'm posting it, but I just rewatched #1 on this list three times in a row and felt like making a list.

1. It's You - ATEEZ (Yeosang, San, Wooyoung) - this video makes me absolutely feral. The song was already my favorite on the album and then they went and released this?!?! It's so hot?! So Sexy!?!! I have an irrational fear that KQ will take it away because it's too perfect and sexy and wonderful and we don't deserve it. I was a Wooyoung/Seonghwa bias beforehand but now it's a four-way tie because holy shit have you seen them???

2. BTBT - B.I (Performance Ver.) - This was the first non-BTS video I became obsessed with, again after falling in love with the song and overplaying it (it was my top-played song of 2022). The dance is amazing, the way they flow, and it's such a simple video (the official video has cool cyberpunk vibes) but it works. This is the only video I've ever watched derivative videos for (dance covers, reactions) because I just can't get enough of it. (gif from the official vid bc the performance vid is criminally under-giffed)

3. Black Swan - BTS - Again, another one where the song got me first. The aesthetic of this video is just so good. I mean, the corsets speak for themselves, but I love how Jimin's amazing dancing gets such a highlight, the backdrops for Yoongi's meaningful verse, how good they all look. The dancing is great, the setting is beautiful, I can rewatch this ten times in a row and still want to watch it again.

4. Move - Taemin - Soooo good. Taemin is considered one of the best dancers in k-pop and he is showing you exactly why in this video. I love him embracing his androgyny here, with the more feminine dance moves and outfit silhouettes. The song is one of my favorites of all time and the video does it complete justice.

5. Rover - Kai - Hot hot hot. Kai. Shirtless. Blond. Those sunglasses?! I didn't like the dance much at first but it has really grown on me over time. Also, apparently this song is a cover/remake?

6. Super - Seventeen - You know, I can't figure out why I love this video so much. Like it's super basic as a concept - just all of them and a whole heap of dancers in one scene. But it works. As soon as they revealed Woozi being held up like he's on a throne with his little smirk, I knew I was done. The dance is so fun and I never get tired of watching this one.

7. Daechwita - Agust D - It's hard to decide between this and Haegeum, but this is the one that starts the story and my Agust D obsession, so obviously I had to choose it. I love the concept and how he lays out the Agust D story in just one mv. Royal Gangster Yoongi is just hnnng. I love the power here.

8. God's Menu - Stray Kids - This one is just super fun. I love all the different outfits - and like, Han in the chef's outfit is top-tier Han, he looks so hot.

9. Shalala - Taeyong - This is one of the most fun music videos I've ever seen. I love all of the different versions of Taeyong and he's the only idol I've seen pull off that shade of lime-green hair. The macarena dance should not work at all and yet it does.

10. Hip - Mamamoo - They slaaayyy in this video. I'm so obsessed with Queen Hwasa literally spitting on her haters. Moonbyul is amazing as always, I love how they have her in various roles that are typically male "anything you can do, I can do better" vibes. Also I really want to dye my hair the same shade as Whee-In's in this video.

11. Don't Call Me - Shinee - I call this the 'weird hat video'. Their hats are ridiculous. And you can tell Minho is really feeling it, just look at the gif. I love it.

My origin story is purple ponytail Butter Jungkook. I was hooked by the lip the moment he autoplay sauntered across my screen while I was innocently scrolling Facebook (of all places) and then YouTube suggested ON and one video led to another and the next thing I knew I’d forked $22 over to Weverse so that I could call myself a card-carrying ARMY. Literally the same day. And then Sowoozoo (Miami JK) happened and someone on Reddit was like “hey you should watch My Time” and I have been mainlining Bangtan ever since. But it took me forever to explore content as far back as the Dark & Wild era because when I went back that far, Jungkook was just so damn young. It was too weird.

Anyway, all of Dark & Wild is great, but I have an inordinate fondness for Danger. First, it sounds like a long-lost Michael Jackson song, and I am an OG MJ fan. Second, the guyliner. So good. Finally, my absolute favorite form of BTS content is performance videos, and there are a million bazillion performances of Danger.

My original plan was to rank every performance of Danger, and I began that project, but it turns out that Tumblr won’t let me link that many videos in a single post and its UI sucks too bad for me to break what I already have into multiple posts. I might still finish someday, but in the meantime, why don’t we put the video for Korean Danger up against Japanese Danger and see who wins.

First up: Korean Danger

This video features members doing things that are things other members do. Jimin is boxing instead of Jungkook. Jungkook is playing the piano instead of Yoongi. Taehyung is cutting his own hair instead of Jin. Jin is wearing a muscle shirt instead of Namjoon. Namjoon is brooding, which is something he does, but he is also tattooing himself, which I cannot in five million years imagine him actually doing. Only Yoongi (basketball) and Hoseok (dancing) are engaged in on-brand activities.

The angst is so thick, it’s chewy.

Something is wrong; there’s a palpable sense of unease throughout that isn’t resolved. The lighting is mood and the stakes seem high. They are all suffering, but you don’t know why. You can almost see HYYH and its neverending cycle of misery* on the horizon.

They’re… in danger.

* Don’t @ me. I love HYYH.

The challenger: Japanese Danger

What is with this thumbnail?

I usually avoid Japanese versions of Korean songs because they weird me out, but I love that BTS often goes to the trouble of making separate, fully-realized videos for the Japanese versions. They look incredible in this. The lighting is better than in the Korean video. (I’m a sucker for high contrast.) The choreo is much easier to follow and the vibe (other than dance Hobi’s accusatory expression, seriously, I never want to be on Hoseok’s bad side) just feels different. And there’s a storyline. The underground club gang fight/dance battle subplot with Tae waiting fruitlessly for some girl (probably) to message him back is low-stakes, easy to follow, and satisfyingly resolved.

Also, how cute is baby JayKaaaaaaaayyyyyyy?

The club sequence begins with young thug Jimin busting the door open (I cry) and ends with Tae apparently triumphing in a rap battle. (Did Tae write this storyline?) It’s so good! There’s a happy ending! I love this story! Who needs girls? Not rap king Taehyung!

The verdict:

I realize this is a spicy take, but based purely on the videos, Japanese Danger is the superior Danger.

The settings are better.

The styling is better.

I can see the choreo better.

Jin is extra super hot in this version. It’s not just me, look at the comments. BACK OF THE LINE PEOPLE HE’S MINE

There’s an actual story instead of just “wow these guys sure do have a lot of feelings.” Not that there’s anything wrong with guys having a lot of feelings.

The climax of Japanese Danger is Tae winning a rap battle. The climax of Korean Danger is… he cuts his hair. Which I can’t take seriously because I watched the behind so I know he accidentally did cut his actual hair and not just the forelock toupee, so it makes me giggle every time.

The only better things about Korean Danger is it’s in Korean (I will only suffer through the disorientation of listening to the Japanese version for the sake of watching the video) and Namjoon’s hair. I love his edgy Japanese Danger hair, but I have a real soft spot for the soft serve/Marilyn Monroe look.

Who in their right mind would give Namjoon a tattoo gun?

I take no pleasure in this verdict. I’m Korean-American and never willingly admit that anything Japanese is better, ever, due to the traditional enmity between our peoples. I will entertain arguments in the comments, if anyone has any. But I’m not wrong.

You asked for jin pics and moments but I want to talk about Jin a bit.

Among jin pictures, my favourite are from his solo photobook shoot, where he was dressed like a captain. Looking like the most handsome man ever.

Initially i found it really hard to figure Jin out. Because it was so apparent to me that he seemed like an extremely private person who'd never share his true feelings. In a way, i always knew that he must be a great person irl, but i always thought he was the member who barely revealed anything about himself.

I guess I was wrong. The truth is that even though he's private, he's really a very simple person with simpler feelings. And there have been moments where he has been really vulnerable and shared them. Like the dilemma he has as the eldest one. Even though he's very playful, he definitely demands a certain level of respect from members that comes with his position. And he's not wrong for that. As the eldest, his word is valued and necessary as he keeps the balance and is a guiding light. Namjoon is the leader who drives them but when it comes to grounding them, they all look up to Jin.

We all know how close Jimin is to Jin. They are really an underrated duo. He never fails to post or talk about Jin. After jungkook, i truly feel Jin and Jhope are closest to Jimin. While they are all emotionally mature at this point, I feel like Jin had to mature much faster. His emotional growth as part of BTS has been immense. From being underconfident to being his own personality, he's shown so much growth.

The casual life lessons Jin sometimes gives out has me in awe. Not just the pancake flinging comment, but also when he says "i live in the moment" and infact has stressed on it many times. That truly is his life philosophy. To take things as they come and focus on present. Do you know how much emotional maturity it takes to forget past and stop worrying about the future?

After watching clips of his event today, i couldn't help but think the amount of love one must have to do all this and prepare so much for fans. And when i tell you, no other celebrity would have done this.. He could have just done a weverse live and dipped. But he gave fans so much more than they could imagine. I feel that this cannot be forced.

Jin has a big heart and i feel that he is an extremely emotional person. He doesn't shy away from shedding tears, and it's honestly heartbreaking to see his tears.

I'm glad he has his 6 members who love him so much.

PS- i love ALL jinjikook moments. They are the ultimate trio. I literally can't choose. But i love that live where they were eating something at a table and jimin was whispering in jk's ears. Even in the recent OT7 photo, jimin and jungkook were on his sides. My heart clenched a little when i saw that. Jimin is literally not letting go of his Jin hyung. T_T

I'm actually happy Jin is back. I can't imagine what an experience it must have been for him. I hope a lot of good things happen for him. And I'm awaiting his music. Really. I love his voice- it's so young and fresh, main character voice.

31. Do you any special merch of any of the biases? I bought the photo folios for 3J (JK, JImin and J-Hope). The first one was JK, and that was the first official merch I ever bought.

33. How many photocards/album items do you have for each bias? I have no idea. I have both versions of "Face" in physical form, which was great, because there are two completely different sets of photos in the included photobooks. Can't beat more pics of JIminie.

34. How many photocards/album items do you have for your bias wreckers? Again, no idea. I've got their solo releases on CD (except Jack in the Box J-Hope edition and Layover), I have two copies of Proof, and I have Wings, You Never Walk Alone, Map of the Soul: 7, O!RUL82?. Dark and Wild, and Love Yourself: Answer. There are photocards and photobooks and whatnot with each of those, so... I have no idea. (I need to get on the stick and get the rest of the discography including all the alternate versions. Completist stan is completist.)

35. Do you intentionally collect any of your bias? Child, if I could collect them... heh. I collect whatever I can of them. I have three different versions of FunkoPop figs for the whole group. On the first set, the Jin and J-Hope figs currently have purple ribbons tied on them with enlistment and discharge dates written on them. I'm getting ribbons ready for the others, too (::sobs::). As each one is freed, I'll remove the ribbon until I have seven spent ribbons in my hand and then I'll fucking burn them. That's the plan, anyway. ;)

36. Have any of your biases inspired or motivated you? Of course! Apart from giving me the strength to start seeing myself as something more than trash and helping me survive a very lonely, very painful pandemic isolation, they've also inspired my writing. I've got three or four books started where the characters look stunningly like a certain group of seven normal boys from Korea. ;)

37. Have your biases helped you with anything? BTS's message resonated with me very loud and clear when I needed it most, which is something I think most ARMYs say. I have had a very dark life, and sometimes those memories and the literal and figurative scars can drag me down. BTS and their music have made me believe that I'm worth more than the dirt left on me by my abusers' hands, and that I have value just because I exist. They've helped me with my depression and PTSD more than any therapist or pharmaceutical ever did. They got me through the pandemic, when I caught Covid 4 times and literally lived in isolation for two years, including once when the only thing that kept me alive was a BiPAP and antiviral meds. I could turn on their music or watch their videos while I was at my sickest, and for a few minutes, things would be okay. I owe them such a debt of gratitude for that.

38. If you could meet 1 bias in person and have an actual conversation with them, who would it be and why? If I could, I'd love to have a conversation with Joonie. He and I are very similar, I think, and I'd love to talk to him about life and philosophy and everything. If I'm honest, I'd really like to have conversations with Yoongi, Hobi and Jimin, too. I think I'd bore JK and V, and Jin would intimidate me.

39. Express how much they mean to you in one sentence. They saved my life.

40. Express how much they mean to you with no limit. I've already said a lot, but there's one particular incident that I think shows what they mean to me more than any other. During the pandemic, when I was so sick and so tired I just wanted to die, I was going to take the step I needed to take to get there. I had the knife in my hand and everything. Then my Spotify randomly started playing "Mikrokosmos," and I couldn't. Their music stayed my hand. They are in all truth and fact the only reason I survived 2020. I just hope I don't waste the second chance they gave me.

I haven’t done a proper hip hop album yet, so this was a cool experience. It’s obviously intended to be more lyrical than melodic overall, and learning about the background of the album feels kind of essential to understand what’s going on. So, if you’re gonna listen to this album, definitely check out the Wikipedia page first.

I think I liked the experience. I certainly enjoyed a lot of the songs, and I like the picture that the album as a whole painted. I’m not convinced by the musicality of it; I don’t think I’ll end up listening to most of these songs ever, I really had to pay attention to the lyrics to appreciate them. - So, funny story here. I never intended to listen to anything Agust D, ever. But then earlier this year, for like two weeks straight, D-Day was everywhere I looked. It was all over kpop reddit and it was all over kpop youtube and so when it finally came out, the Haegeum MV was recommended to me literally everywhere. How did you discover BTS? It was through Angela, who became a fan a little earlier than I did – around the time of BE if I remember correctly. She was fully invested by like early 2021 when she'd vent to me about how they'd be unfairly treated at stuff like the Grammys and such.

Have you ever attended a BTS concert? Not all 7, but I've seen a solo member in concert – that'd be Yoongi during his last tour. He didn't have a show in Manila, but he had one in Bangkok and my best friends and I flew in to see him. It was awesome. Our flights to and from Thailand had been full of fans.

Which BTS member is your bias (favorite)? Namjoon. My first was Jin, then Taehyung, then Namjoon.

What is your favorite BTS album? Map of the Soul: 7 is my ultimate favorite, then Wings is an extremely close second. I love love love how the tracklists flow in both.

Name your top three favorite BTS songs. Well, those two ^ then I'll add Love Yourself: Tear in the mix. I have nothing more to say about the album that churned out Outro: Tear.

Do you own physical copies of BTS albums? I do – up until You Never Walk Alone, then it kind of gets staggered from there. I only have three versions of the Love Yourself series, one version of MOTS: 7, one version of BE, both versions of Butter, and both versions of Proof.

I once committed to collecting all versions of all albums, but any fan can probably deduce why I stopped at the LY era – 12 versions is just too much of a financial commitment (I know my limits too! Hahaha). So I'm on an indefinite hiatus with album collecting for now, but the goal is definitely not dead. It's just not my current priority.

Which BTS music video is your favorite? I've always held I Need U on such a high pedestal the moment I saw it and I don't think that will ever change.

Have you ever covered a BTS song or dance? No, I neither sing nor dance.

Do you prefer BTS's older or newer music? I like the stuff they put out in 2016-2018 the most. The older hip-hop stuff are nice but they're a tad angsty for me to call them my favorite. I have nothing bad to say about the newer sounds, so it really all just boils down to a matter of preference.

Have you streamed a BTS song on a music platform in the past week? Yeah I was literally listening to Magic Shop right before taking this.

How many BTS songs can you sing along to? I mean I can sing along to most (if not all, tbh?) their choruses...but I'm generally better at memorizing their ballads cos obviously they're slower, making it easier to catch up with the Korean. I also memorize a handful of their Japanese songs – in general, picking up Japanese is way easier for me than Korean.

In any case, I can definitely make it through a concert confidently singing along to most of the lines haha.

Who is your BTS bias wrecker (second favorite)? It's been Yoongi and Jimin over the last few months.

Which BTS member do you relate to the most? As far as interests and outlook in life, definitely Namjoon. Behavior-wise I see so much of Hobi in me. It'd kill him to not go through life the textbook and methodical way, and I'm honestly the same. I need order, systems, spreadsheets, lists...lol. We'd either get along really well or be at each other's throats 24/7.

Which BTS member's style do you admire the most? Probably Namjoon's. He didn't exactly have a signature style in earlier years and was kind of just wearing whatever, then he must have figured it out at some point because all of his outfits have just been super neat-looking and coordinated.

If you could meet one BTS member, who would it be? I would not want to meet any of them and tbh would run for my life if I ever spotted them in a non-concert setting LOL.

Do you follow BTS members' individual activities and solo music? Of course. My love for them transcends chapters and I love them as solo artists just as much as I love them as a group. I've followed all comebacks and have every album of theirs starting from Jack in the Box.

Which BTS member do you think has the best stage presence? All of them have their own charms and the thing about them is that they mesh well enough on stage for them to never be overpowering one another.

Have you ever joined a BTS fan club? I mean, being part of ARMY is enough. I am a member of a couple of local fan communities though – I even flew with a bunch of them to Thailand.

Do you participate in BTS fan art or fan fiction? I participate merely in that I consume fanfics every now and then. I don't write and don't think I ever will.

Have you ever attended a BTS fan gathering or fan convention? I haven't, actually. My schedule never aligns with whatever's happening nearby, and there's usually a lot.

How often do you engage with BTS content on social media? Everyday. My Twitter is essentially my main channel for keeping up with current news, so I'm never too far away from updates.

Have you ever won a BTS-related contest or giveaway? No, also because I've never really joined any.

Do you collect BTS merchandise? Yes. These days I'm prioritizing Chapter 2 releases, so I'm just waiting for Jungkook's album to come out; after that I might take a break from collecting. It's not like a lot will be released til 2025 anyway, but I also don't feel like resuming my album collection just yet.

Have you ever traveled to South Korea to visit BTS-related places? I've been to South Korea, but not for BTS. That's the plan for the next time I visit though.

How has BTS positively influenced your life? They reintroduced hope to me and they've also led me to a lot of great people who've ended up as my close friends. I also want to keep doing well in life because of them – like days can get awful, but I've been a lot better with keeping an "it'll pass," or "just start over tomorrow" mindset thanks to them.

The journey is more than just being a fan. I actually want to be better and healthier for myself because of them.

Have you engaged in BTS-related charity work or donation campaigns? Yes, I've donated to a lot of local fundraisers done in the name of ARMY. Currently there's a Match A Billion initiative that I'm planning to partake in as well.

Have you ever used BTS lyrics as inspiration for your life? Oh yeah. My favorite these days is, "Future's gonna be okay."

Do you think BTS has made a positive impact on the world? In some aspects yes, but I don't think it's fair to them to think of them solely in those terms. They never set out to, like, transform the world or be the spokesperson for global diplomacy or whatever so it can be frustrating when people have that kind of expectation for them, but then jeer on them when they're slated to have a speech at the fucking UN.

That being said, what I want to say is they've made a positive impact in areas they've directly helped pave – like bringing K-pop into the mainstream market, local ARMY chapters all over the world doing regular fundraisers, increasing the interest in Korean culture, etc.

Which BTS album concept do you like the most? I love the LY series because it can be interpreted in so many ways. If the songs teach you self-love, great! If you think of the work as an ode to the members considering they nearly broke up at the time, go for it! If the lyrics are kinda romantic and you want to dedicate them to your partner, that's cute go you!

How do you feel about BTS's global success? I want nothing else but for them to be happy and to never lose themselves in the process of going up, and up, and up. I'll always be proud, of course, but I trust them to take breaks the moment they feel overwhelmed or devoid of inspiration, like what's happening now.

Do you follow BTS's achievements on music charts and awards? Well not all awards cos there's like, a billion of them, but I definitely keep track. Same with the charts.

How has BTS inspired you in your personal or professional life? They make me excited about life! I want to keep trying new things. New food. New sensations like sitting at a park for two hours straight, or attending a pottery class. I'm way more extroverted than I've ever been my whole life. I like talking to people and letting them share and share and share away. They've instilled a certain confidence in me that I also get to apply at work. Things like that.

Do you think BTS has paved the way for more Korean artists in the global music industry? They've objectively had the biggest and longest impact – this I can easily argue; but I generally veer away from using that rallying cry as I feel it undermines what their seniors did before them . BTS brought Korean (even Asian) artists into the mainstream, made it normal for Korean-language songs and albums to top charts, sparked global interest in Korean cuisine...but if it weren't for high school Namjoon and Yoongi getting fueled by Epik High or pre-debut Jimin idolizing BIGBANG, then the inspiration to be the BTS of today probably wouldn't be as intense.

Have you ever tried to replicate a BTS member's fashion look? Not a particular one but in general I've tried buying more oversized and baggy stuff because of them.

Do you own any clothing or accessories inspired by BTS? Yes, I have a few fanmade shirts.

What is your favorite BTS red carpet or performance outfit? END ME

How do you describe the bond between BTS and ARMY (their fans)? I think it's the biggest thing that sets the boys apart from the rest of the other groups. The relationship is just heartwarmingly strong, built entirely on trust. I don't know how else I can put it. It needs noting that the boys were facing an absurd amount of death threats, extremely offensive personal attacks, coordinated black oceans, etc...from people who didn't like them for reasons that didn't even exist. The hatred was/is on a different level it reached a point that they've acknowledged it a bunch of times (even to this day) lmao, and that whole time they only had the fans. Because of those fans who stayed and fought til the end, it only made the bond tighter; I'm one of the newer fans who gets to enjoy the calmness of today, which was only made possible because of the fans who did the dirty work up until a few years ago. Now, honestly, each of them feels like a friend I can rant to or that I can share what I had for dinner to.

What does being an ARMY mean to you? I'm very grateful to be a part of it. I've never seen a community that cares so much about just everything. Not all the fans are gonna be great but I do see the ones that make it a point to do good things, and I feel a sense of pride and protection about that.

Have you ever participated in a fan project for BTS? Not yet, although I've always wanted to. I've never been able to see any of the calls for the projects! They never make it to my timeline so I'll usually just see the end result already.

Do you have BTS-related tattoos or fan art? I don't have any tattoos, but the designs I've long had in mind are BTS-related.

How do you think BTS has changed the K-pop industry? They were the first to leverage on social media the way they did – as far as I know; definitely feel free to correct me if I got it wrong. But the fact that they did vlogs pre-debut, then started the Bangtan Bombs all the way from June 2013, to regularly checking in with their fans on Twitter and the fancafe for sure set the modern-day standard of groups conversing with fans. There's so many other ways they've changed the game but I feel like this has to be one of the biggest ones.

What do you think sets BTS apart from other K-pop groups? I love this question because I've been asking this myself. If it were up to me though I'd chalk it up to their sincerity, and that's in every sense of the word. They've always been very genuine with their relationships with the fans, genuine with one another in that I've never seen a closer bond with any other group, genuine in the music they make – they've made it a point from the very beginning to write lyrics that they want to write about. For me it's a combination of all these factors, different yet rooted in the same authenticity, that's pushed them to go as far as they have.

How do you feel about BTS's collaborations with international artists? It depends on the artist. Most I think have been very sweet and genuine with the collaboration, like Halsey, Steve Aoki, and Megan Thee Stallion. Others are kind of a question mark lol like Charlie Puth who seems to just be using the name of BTS for clout...then there are others that we just don't acknowledge like Sia for that unnecessary On remix and Jason Derulo who is just an ass.

Have you watched BTS's documentary series, such as "Burn the Stage" or "Break the Silence"? Of course. The fight between Taehyung and Jin was one of the very first clips I watched of the boys so it just made sense for me to watch the docuseries. I've seen the solo documentaries too, of Hobi and Yoongi.

Do you follow BTS-related fan theories and speculations? Not really. Never was a big fan of analyzing theories to begin with.

What is your favorite BTS fan theory? I don't have any.

Have you ever contributed to a fan theory or discussion? No.

How has BTS's music helped you during difficult times? There are songs that I heard at the right time, like just when I needed to be told certain words. My best example would be hearing Life Goes On when I had been going through a low point; I heard the chorus play for the first time and the tears uncontrollably came out all at once. What I'm saying is that I like that their lyrics are not necessarily cheery, but they provide a sense of comfort rooted in reality, and it's that kind of lyricism that I get inspiration from. They'll be the first to say that yes life is shit and that's supposed to happen and we're not gonna baby you about it, but you have it in you to make it better.

Have you ever participated in a BTS-related mental health initiative? I don't think I have.

Have you learned or improved a language because of BTS? I guess so! I already had working knowledge of Korean prior to me discovering BTS, but I have used their songs to train my reading skills. I'll sing along to songs reading the Hangul lyrics instead of the romanized ones to practice, and I can say it's helped me a ton.

How do you feel about BTS singing in different languages? I honestly don't have an opinion because I leave that shit up to them haha. They can work on whatever language they're happy working on.

What is your most prized BTS merchandise item? All of them are very valuable to me in their own ways.

Do you have a collection of BTS photocards? I have a collection, yeah, but I don't collect, per se. I used to but I grew out of it, and the only reason I have a collection at all is because all albums and DVDs come with them.

Have you ever met friends through your shared love of BTS? For sure, both in real life and at work. I don't like making friends online because social media is so toxic and people can drop you in a flash for no reason whatsoever.

How do you handle any negativity or criticism directed towards BTS? I largely ignore because most people who would direct negativity at them have no actual ammunition and only hate for the sake of hating, but I can definitely become protective if it gets too personal. I'm also not opposed to criticizing the boys myself if I sense that they're doing something questionable, although this has only happened once when I got pissed with Namjoon for posting a Chris Brown song lol.

How do you feel about BTS promoting diversity and self-acceptance? Is it supposed to make me feel any other way than good and proud? Hahaha of course I love seeing them use their platform for a greater good.

Have you been inspired by BTS's messages of self-love and self-acceptance? Very much so.

How do you feel during a BTS comeback teaser period? Excited in ways that words can never express. I can only imagine how insane the next comeback in 2025/26 would be.

What is your favorite BTS comeback era? I've only experienced a couple! But Butter was SO much fun because it just felt like a huge party hahaha. They had so many lives pre- and post-release and the fandom was just hitting one record after another...it was so so so so fun.

Which member's teaser images do you anticipate the most? That's not how it works here. I get excited for everyone's. :)

Have you ever tried producing music or covers inspired by BTS? Nope.

Do you have a favorite BTS producer or songwriter? Not really. I mean they already have their internal circle of producers that regularly work with them, and seeing any of those names on their credits is enough to make me giddy about releases.

Well I will always hold a soft spot for the fight between Taehyung and Jin; I'm surprised it even made it at all to the final cut but at the same time I appreciate how they basically allowed everyone to see what it's really like behind the scenes and how they will inevitably butt heads sometimes.

Do you anticipate BTS's future film or drama projects? Of course. I know the newest OT7 one will be out on Disney+ by December and I think Jimin has his own docu coming out as well, so I'm excited for both.

What BTS achievement or milestone are you most proud of? The South Korean Order of Cultural Merit. I'm a big history/culture buff so that alone makes me prouder of whatever achievement they've achieved in the west.

You followed the sound of the music blaring from the rehearsal room down the hall, your shoes clicking against the tile floor. Your and Yoongi’s daughter, Nari, was propped on your hip, her chubby fingers grasping at the material of your sweater. You opened the door quietly so as not to disturb anyone, peering your head in.

Hobi was watching and giving feedback to the rest of boys as they practiced the choreography to their new song, their backs turned away from you. He waved you in, his smile brightening when he saw Nari.

“Look who it is!” he exclaimed warmly, coming toward you and Nari and cooing at her.

“Say hi to your Uncle Hobi,” you said to Nari, laughing when Hobi grabbed her from you and spun her around.

“Hey, be careful with my kid, please,” Yoongi grumbled. He came over to you, kissing you on your cheek in greeting as the remainder of BTS were occupied with your eight-month-old baby. He continued to frown at them while fully knowing that Nari was perfectly safe with his bandmates. “I didn’t even get to say hi to her,” Yoongi pouted. He turned to face you, and you ran a comforting hand through his blue hair, the soft strands immediately falling back onto his forehead.

“I’m sorry, babe, but when there are six annoyingly affectionate uncles around, you have to fight for attention,” you mused, chuckling at his expression of distaste.

“What? Being her father doesn’t cut it anymore?” he asked with mock anger.

“Afraid not.” Yoongi looked at his bandmates sitting on the floor with Nari, her little giggles filling the room when Jin made a silly face at her. “Alright, that’s enough, I’d like to kiss my baby, thank you very much!” Yoongi said, walking over to the group with determination. Nari saw Yoongi coming toward her, her face lighting up with glee, bread cheeks she inherited from her father squishing from her smile. She held her arms up, wanting Yoongi to pick her up.

“Hi, baby girl,” Yoongi sweetly greeted her, cuddling her close to him.  

“Ah, come on, hyung, we were playing,” Jimin whined. Yoongi narrowed his eyes at him, but it was quickly replaced by a grin when Nari poked at his cheek.

“Are you both staying for dance practice?” he asked you as he made his way back to you with Nari in his arms.

“Nari wanted a sneak peak,” you told him with a straight face. Yoongi smirked at you, knowing how much you liked to watch rehearsals if you were off work. 

“Sure, love, Nari wanted a sneak peak,” he teased. “Weren’t you just telling me the other day how much you enjoyed watching me perform?”

“Me? No, never,” you lied. He scoffed at you, clearly not believing you. After kissing Nari on the cheek, he passed her to you, moving back to the group so that they could get started after your interruption.

You took your usual seat on the floor in front of the mirror, propping Nari on your lap so she could watch the dance. The boys got in position, music restarting and filling the room with an upbeat energy. You couldn’t take your eyes off of your husband, looking casually cool in his white t-shirt, blue hair bouncing along with him while he was dancing.

Nari was attentively watched her daddy dance with her favorite babysitters, sometimes straining against your hold, clearly wanting to join them. Her little hands reached out when Yoongi high-fived Jungkook during the choreography to indicate she wanted a high five, too. JK ran over to give her one before going back to join Tae and Jimin in formation, Nari giggling in delight at his actions.

When they got near the end of the song, Joon came over with a grin, indicating that he wanted Nari. You lifted her up so he could grab her to dance with, bopping her along to the beat. You smiled at the scene, reaching for your phone to take a video of the sweet moment. A familiar hand was in front of you when you turned back from searching through your bag. Looking up, you saw Yoongi with a grin on his face, waiting for you to take his hand. When your palm met his, he pulled you up, keeping your hands together to spin you in an elaborate twirl.  

You wrapped your hands around his neck when you made your way back around to face him, his hands sitting on your waist as you danced together to the song, cheesing at each other.

He reached down to peck you on the lips, your face flushing at his affection.

“I’m glad you came,” he murmured to you. He looked contently over at Nari having the best time in Namjoon’s arms while he was dancing around the room. “I was missing you and Nari.” You silently observed Yoongi, his eyes alight with love while watching his daughter.

“You would have seen us tonight at home, Yoongs,” you hummed. He looked back over at you, narrowing his eyes at you. “What?” you asked, confused.

“It’s never enough,” he said quietly with a shrug of his shoulders. You tilted your head to the side slightly waiting for him to go on. “I could spend every moment of every day with you two and it would never be enough.”

You put your hand on his cheek, a soft smile playing at your lips. 

“Aish, I’ve gone too soft,” Yoongi groaned upon seeing your expression, his head landing on your shoulder to hide his likely burning face. You laughed, and Yoongi pinched your hip at your reaction.

“Would you two stop being so grossly in love front of us and take your child? She clearly wants her mom and dad,” Jin practically yelled across the room at the two of you.

Yoongi lifted his head from your shoulder, kissing your hair lightly before going to get a fussy Nari, who was squirming in Joon’s grasp now that the music stopped.

He tickled her side lightly, making her laugh so her grumpy face would go away. He pointed to you, telling Nari to wave to mommy, pushing his face up against hers.

“We should probably get going, she’s due for her afternoon nap soon,” you told Yoongi.

“Her crib is set up in my studio if you want to wait for me, we just need to run this a couple more times before Hobi will finally let us leave,” Yoongi said.

“Hey, I heard that!” Hoseok complained. Yoongi ignored him, making you chuckle.

“In that case, we’ll be waiting for you down the hall.” He opened the door for you and Nari, but you stopped halfway out the door. “Oh, by the way, I definitely agree with you.”

“About what?” Yoongi asked.

“You have gone too soft,” you teased. He glared at you playfully.  

“You’re lucky I love you,” Yoongi admonished.

“Now that I also agree with,” you said, starting to walk away. You turned to face him, blowing him a kiss. He rolled his eyes at your antics. “And we love you too,” you said loud enough for him to hear you.

His gummy smiled appeared as he waved to you both, closing the door behind him to the rehearsal room as you continued down the hallway.

He was right about one other thing, of course – no amount of time with Yoongi and Nari would ever be enough. You certainly felt lucky.
