In the boring emptiness of some secret, government research facility, soft squeals call out with ecstasy.
Hold that thought.
Aren’t you supposed to be on patrol?
🤍
Since the OG X-Men were busy with more important endeavors (another fancy gala. Huge snore fest), Xavier took it upon himself to recruit some newbie trainees. He sent three of them to a top secret facility. Super below radar. The building sat far away from the bustle of society, hidden at an off-the-record base.
It’s around one AM when Quicksilver himself finally crashes your boring, patrol party. He zips through the entire building, scouting the area; before checking in on the trainees. After sending the other two off on their twenty minute breaks, he soon finds you.
A newbie he’s far more acquainted with. In more ways than one.
But not as many as he’d like.
You look bored as hell sitting there by yourself, swirling in a swivel chair. A series of CCTV screens flicker before you. But you barely pay them any attention. Keeping your head down, clipboard on your lap; you doodle all over a security protocol sheet. Your legs kick in a childlike way.
Your first, official mission is the most lame of X-Men operations. But even despite that, you appear to be in high spirits. Peter’s almost jealous. The first time he joined up with the team, all he got out of it was a lousy, broken leg.
Anyway, you’re cute and all. But…don’t you have a job to do, you slacker?
Peter leans against the doorway, his hands nestled in the pockets of his silver, bomber jacket. Beady eyes watch you through the lenses of his goggles. His earphones hang around his neck. A quiet jam resonates from them. But you're so mesmerized by your doodling, you don't even notice.
In a flash, Peter makes his presence known. Big hands grab your shoulders hard. He leans in to whisper sternly in your ear. His voice vibrates, robust and quaking in an attempt to spook you.
“GOTCHA! Annnnnnnd, yer dead, kid! Mwahahaha!
You swivel around in an instant. Hopping from your seat, you raise your hands in defense. Jeez! Peter's caught off guard by how quickly you react. Blinding beams of golden light burst from your palms. The same glow floods your eyes. You hurl scorching hot rays in Peter's direction.
Well…shit.
Thanks to Xavier's mad training skills, Peter's a little faster than light nowadays. And he's ultra lucky for it. Had you raised your hands and gone pew pew pew so many years ago - he probably would've charred to a crisp right then and there.
“Damn! You got some killer aim! That was a close call.” He whistles. Peter gawks at the holes seared into the wall, straight through some ruined blueprints. A smirk plays on his lips. He gestures at the damage with a thumb, “Eh, they probably got backups ‘a those lyin’ around, right?”
Your only response is an affectionate eye roll. But Peter notes the curl at the corner of your mouth as you try not to smile.
Screw it. You're pretty fun. Why doesn't he hang with you for a bit? He's probably got some time to kill. At least before Chuck realizes the speedster isn't dressed to the nines, bored out of his mind at the gala.
The two of you goof off for a few minutes. As you doodle, Peter looms over your seat. Watching the CCTV screens with a ready eye, he teases you about your lack of focus on the job. You're just such a supreme newbie, he can't help it.
To which you respond with a counterpoint - isn't he the reigning champion of getting sidetracked?
TouchĂŠ, little newbie. TouchĂŠ.
Boredom quickly makes him antsy. And being antsy has Peter's brain reaching for any stimulation he can find. Pacing the room, Peter casts subtle glances at your figure in tactical clothing. Hot damn. Black really does highlight your most bodacious assets.
Amidst casual conversation, Peter shamelessly flirts with you. And when you flirt back, he isn’t all that fazed. The two of you are always making saucy passes at one another. Horny topics of discussion happen more often than they should. You once poured your heart out for twenty minutes, complaining that you couldn’t squirt when you got off. Part of him took this confession as a challenge.
Peter never forgot how sexually charged the energy of that night was.
Or…maybe it wasn’t? Maybe you just wanted to vent to someone who would listen. Yeah. He’s probably uber delusional. That ‘energy’ might’ve come from the sunbeams radiating in your genes.
Sure. Nothing sexual.
But if that’s the case, why else are you giving him bedroom eyes - if not ‘cuz you really wanna bone?
Expelling a bland sigh, Peter leans back against the console where the CCTV screens are. He bounces a random ball he swiped from a researcher’s desk. Flirtatious teasing continues back and forth, remaining casual.
Until Peter makes a needlessly suggestive comment.
“I’m just sayin’. Picture this, ‘kay? You ‘n me, goin’ at it like there’s no tomorrow. Pretty sure I’d get you off in under, say, three minutes er less. That’s not a promise, it’s a fact.”
Throwing you a sly look, Peter smirks payfully. He bounces the ball again.
“Pshh. Not fast enough.” You mumble.
Peter’s dark gaze leers at you from under his brows.
Oh. Oh no, you didn't just...
His eyes fire across each CCTV screen, double checking for any unwanted visitors. All clear, it’s go time. Moving swiftly, he props you up on a nearby desk. At record speed - before you can begin to comprehend his impossibly fast actions - he crams six inches of girthy, speedster cock inside you. All without any warning.
In hindsight, maybe he shouldn’t have been so impulsive. But in the microsecond it took him to move your body and pull your pants off, at the very least; he had the courtesy to prep you with his fingers. And now, you’re coming undone as he jackhammers your cunt. Peter rolls into you in a blur of silver motion. Your walls clench perfectly over his cock.
You protest through shallow moans, “W-Wait! Oh my g-...too fast, Peter! Too fast!”
The tips of his fingers circle your clit, the vibrations shattering your moans. Wrapping your legs around his waist, you bring him closer. Peter shivers as your pussy squeezes him so tight. It’s an outrageously awesome sensation that drives him to drill his dick deeper. Tilting forward, he groans, his lips grazing yours.
“Y’think I can make you squirt like this?” He chuckles, his throat bobbing as he swallows down a moan.
You shake your head wildly, whimpering the softest, “Noooooo! I told you already, I cannnnn’t!”
“Huh? What’s that, cutie? Aw. Too bad. ‘Cuz I’m not gunna slow down ‘til you do.” Peter teases, looking over his shoulder at the CCTV screens. He smirks crookedly, “Better be quick. Yer teammates’re gunna be back soon.”
You tip your head back as you whine again. Peter ruts into you so inexplicably fast, his pace renders your lungs useless. His fingers keep torturing your clit, guiding your pearl in a whirring dance of speedy buzzes. You shudder, clawing into his arms as your hips move on instinct.
Speeding the rhythm of his thrusts, Peter furrows his brows. His cock pulses when he watches your tits bounce in your shirt. He bites his lip to stifle a whimper. Below him, you try to call his name. But his powerful movements rupture your pretty voice. “Hell yeah, gorgeous. That’s it. Don’t hold back, ‘kay? Just let it happen. Gunna cum, pretty girl? C’mon, ya gotta cum for me. You can do it. C’mon.” He begs, his tone a little closer to a whine.
Not even two minutes into sexing you up, he has you gushing a spritz of luscious heat. Score. He'll be thinking about this sexy success for weeks. The corners of your eyes leak hot tears, as a rapturous orgasm overtakes you. The entire, lower half of your body tightens, muscles clenching. Your pussy pops with a juicy burst. Leaking down your thighs and ass, your slick coats his twitchy cock.
He kisses you, his breath burning hot, “Doin’ so good, princess. So good for me. Was that fast enough for you? Hmm? Oh, fuck. I'm sorry, baby, I'm sorry, I'm sorry-”
Pulling his soaked length free, he showers your tummy in virile, white jets. Leaning over you, Peter laughs again, exhaling a long sigh of elation. His lips capture yours, drinking in your kisses for a few beats. He feels his heart twist with satisfaction. All at the awesome notion that he drove you to such an intimate, breaking point.
“How’s that for a quickie?” He teases with a cheeky grin, winking down at you.
Your blinky eyes gaze over his shoulder, looking somewhat dazed. Beneath him, you stir in place. You’re trying to say something. But you’re so braindead from the totally slammin’ orgasm he gave you, the words won’t happen.
But then, Peter notices the way your glazed hues narrow. That vibrant, golden glow from earlier returns. Sitting up on an elbow, you raise a hand to point at the CCTV screens behind him. Oh, you probably saw someone on cam. Peter’s dark gaze widens. A sudden beam of light pulsates at the tip of your finger.
“NO, NO, NO, NO-” He starts.
Too late. The golden flash fires like a speeding bullet from your fingertip, colliding into the screens. A powerful burst shatters the entire CCTV setup on impact. Electric static buzzes amongst broken glass and fried wires. Peter sighs, looking over his shoulder, then back down at your cute face.
“Babe, seriously? Now’s not the time to be tryin’ interior decorating!” He rolls his eyes, playing ignorant to your shared romp in the research lab, “Hold that thought...aren’t you supposed to be on patrol?”

“Puss, when my time comes I will not run from death, I will great him like an old friend, because in the end that’s what he is.”
So during the adventure for the last wish ďżź(reader flirting with Goldie) the battle ends but reader gets hurt, bad, so when death comes, puss along with the others look in anger and sadness, and a shocked death, hear something that warms even him.
“Hello old friend, it’s been awhile “
i haven’t wrote for Goldie yet so please forgive me if I make her a little to ooc!
Goldie locks x reader+death x reader (PLATONIC)
Song I listened to on repeat while writing this: I love you so- the walters
GN reader
Warnings: death, fighting, swearing, blood.
You had met puss that night after the whole Fiona and shrek thing. You were in a corner and suddenly a cat comes up to you asking if you had a cup of milk, you gave him your cup that you didn’t even take a drink from. He thanked you and you talked with him for a while.
You and him decided to travel together, he went off somewhere and you haven’t didn’t see him for a while.
One day you were fighting someone and you felt them stab you in the side “shit”. You cursed out feeling the blood rush down your arm. You ran off desperately trying to find someone/somewhere you could get patched up.
You had been running for a while and everything around you started to get blurry the last thing you remembered was falling in front of a house.
When you woke up you found your self on a bed, sitting up you realized your arm was covered in bandages. Slowly you got up and walked around still feeling a bit woozy.
You saw a door and headed towards it walking down stairs. A blonde haired girl walked out and smiled at you. “Oh hey your awake, sit down right there you lost a lot of blood”. She pointed to a chair on the living room.
Sitting down you laid your other hand on your arm, a noise brought you out of a trance and the girl was standing in front of you with a small smile and a bowl. “It’s bowl of porridge, just the way mama makes it”. She said placing it in front of you and you thanked her immediately eating it. She stared at you as you ate, crossing her arms she gave you a smirk.
“Hey don’t inhale it, you might choke on it”. She commented with a laugh. You smiled at that and let out your own chuckle. After eating you sat back in the chair. “That was really good, your mama’s a very good cook”. You said smiling at her, she took the bowl and placed it back into the kitchen.
Returning back to you she sat in front of you. “So what your name”? She asked her blue eyes filled with wonder. “My names y/n yours”? You asked. “My names Goldie”. She responded and you smiled “that’s a pretty name”. You responded.
Over the course of a couple months you lived with her and the bears robbing people and what not. You would constantly flirt with her any chance you got. “Hey you know some times I wish you were a magical item”. You said to her while looking at the stuff you and the family had taken. “Oh why’s that”? She asked and you smirked. “Because then I could steal you and make you mine”. A blush came across her face, “oh come on mate”. Baby said disgusted.Mama only smiled at you, papa laughed at it before falling asleep in his chair.
When you all got to the wishing star you were unfortunately hit by on of those green bomb apples jack had after kitty dodged it. You let out a cry flying backwards into Goldie’s arms. Your eyes closed but she knelt down as you held your side. “Hey y/n please look at me your gonna be ok”. She said frantically and you looked up at her, her eyes filled with fear.
Suddenly a whistle came from somewhere and everyone took a look seeing a wolf walk through the colorful barrier. You had heard rumors that death came in the form of a wolf so you wondered if he was here for you. Puss’s eyes widened and a wall of fire surrounded both of them.
After fighting you had your head laying back on Goldie’s chest her arms wrapped around you and your body felt almost weightless. “Hey Goldie I don’t think I’m gonna make it outta here”. You stated as you grabbed her hand holding it in yours. “Y/n we will get you out of here if it’s the last thing i do”. She said laying her head against the back of yours. “You smiled at her attempt to reassure you, or was she reassuring herself.
The wolf walked to you and Goldie held you closer giving him a small glare. You smiled at him and the next thing that took everyone by surprise was what you said next. “Hello old friend, it’s been a long time eh”? His eyes widened, you weren’t scared of him? You didn’t even try to fight him. He came closer and looked at the other four above you. “It’s their time, you will meet again”. He said in a calm tone as he leaned down to grab your arm, “wait could I do something real quick”? You asked him he hesitated, then nodded.
“Goldie I never got the courage and I’ll never have that chance to but, I love you”. You said weakly turning. Her eyes widened and she gave you a small smile back,”I live you too y/n”. You have her hand a small kiss as an apology for leaving so soon. Death grabbed your arm and searched for the string finding it, it was weak, you closed your eyes and he cut it.
Your soul sitting up as you turned back to Goldie her teary eyes looked into your slightly transparent ones. Standing you gave her a smile. “I’ll see you soon, but until then don’t get to hurt I’d hate to see your pretty face get all messed up”. You always had to flirt in the worst of times. She gave you a weak smile, “I’ll try my best love”. She replied and you gave her a wink before turning to walk away with death.
After that she swore she would get revenge on jack for you, and she did right as he died at the wishing star. She sat with her family looking at the stars above her, “y/n would love them my dear”. Mama said hugging her. Her eyes filling with tears once more she buried herself into her, “yes they would”.

Third installment of the Love Language Miniseries
It might be OOC so please bear with me
Dedicated to the one who gave me this wonderful yet painful series idea @meitanteisachi!
-
Words of Affirmation- You get a thrill from receiving compliments and unexpected praise. You like it when others say they care about you or appreciate having you in their lives. You love feeling understood and receiving recognition for a job well done.
Shinichi trusts Ran a lot. But having a recent 'misunderstanding' along with being busy with his detective work and texting an apology yet receiving a slur of misspelled sentences with only the words 'Sonoko' and the name of a specific bar being decipherable, he can't help but worry and overthink.
(The name 'Kazuha' was readable as well and it did lessen his panic, but the reassurance he felt was nothing compared to Sonoko and her constant tricks that worsened when they became adults.)
Reaching the said bar on Rans' text message, he rushes inside and immediately dislikes the smell of mixed alcohols and smoke everywhere. Face indifferent, he passes through the dancing crowd and went straight to where he deduces his girlfriend to be.
Knowing Ran, she's not someone to go wild in such a tight place, nor does she appreciate the smell of cigarettes all over the dance floor. She would be somewhere comfortable and quiet enough to converse with Sonoko and Kazuha. Shinichi can't think of a better spot than the bartenders' counter.
And he was right.
There she was, in the middle of a familiar drinking blonde on her left and a brown haired woman on her right, reclined in her stool and mouthing words to her left side. Despite her back being the only thing he can see from where he's standing, he recognized it in an instant, having been familiar from the sight since childhood (her iconic hairstyle also helped).
Walking a little closer to be heard and putting his hands into his pockets, he calls out. "Ran."
The girls, save from the gulping heiress who ignores him, turns around and express the same visage upon seeing him. Rans' expression instantly change however, as her wide eyes and agape mouth closes and curls up into a smile.
"Shinichi!"
She stands up from her seat and walks over to him in an odd unbalanced manner. On a closer inspection, Shinichi noticed how her cheeks flushed a rather more healthy red than normal.
Raising an eyebrow, he opens his mouth to scold but his prepared reprimands die on his throat as Ran hugs him instead of just standing in front of him, her slender hands wrapped around his neck slowly, her feet tiptoeing as she concluded she wasn't tall enough to reach Shinichis' height.
He instinctively backs away from the unexpected warmth and weight, flustered and confused. Ran didn't even gave him the time to recover, leaning her head into the crook of his neck and sniffing it as he felt her sigh, successfully making his mind blank.
"You smell nice." she whispers, letting out a giggle as if entertained at her out of nowhere compliment while he stands there, frozen and left with no words to respond. Even after five years of being together, her effect on him stays consistent and powerful, similar to their first meeting.
Fortunately, he was brought out of his reverie by a familiar—not in a good way— smell of rum mixed into her natural sweet odor. From that, everything clicked. Her red face, wobbly walking and unexpected behavior finally made sense to him.
"You're drunk." he deduces as he looks down at his girlfriend who avoided eye contact by looking sideways and pouting, confirming her guilty.
"Sorry Kudo-kun," he redirects his gaze at the source of the voice, finding an apologetic Tooyama Kazuha. " We're the ones that invited her here and as you can see," her eyes went to Ran briefly before going back to him and continues sheepishly, "We kinda got carried away."
He expected the answer. After all, Ran rarely drinks, much less get drunk. She'd only really go all out when there's an important celebration or a really big problem, like a certain misunderstanding that may or may have not happened between the two of them.
"It's fine." he acquits as his eyes looks at anywhere but Kazuhas' green ones, unsure of how to ask. "Umm, did Ran told you anything concerning? Like if there's a huge problem or something?"
The Osakan woman's eyes widened and suspiciously travelled to Ran as if asking for permission, who in return tightened her grip around his neck to bring him down a little. Kazuha now seems to have an answer, glancing back at him.
"Nope, Ran-chan said nothing like that at all." with the way she puts up a tight lipped smile, it was obvious she was lying. "Besides, if there is an issue like that, why don't you ask her? I'm sure she'd tell you."
He wants to disagree, being aware of Rans' nature to he very considerate that she might dismiss the topic. But Shinichi really isn't fond of the idea of pressuring his bestfriends' girlfriend, so he didn't say anything. Besides, Kazuha was right, if there was anyone to ask about what is wrong, it would be his girlfriend.
"Yeah, you're right." he laughs and attempts to change the topic, not wanting to make the atmosphere awkward. "Anyways, it's pretty late. Want me to take you guys home?"
The brunette shakes her head and looks from behind. Shinichi follows her gaze, only to find Sonoko still on the counter and talking to someone on the phone. Her voice is so loud that it can mildly be heard from where they're standing.
"No thanks, it seems Sonoko-chan is already calling Makoto-kun to pick her up."
"It seems so," he now looks back to her. "How about you?"
"No need," she pulls out her phone, showing him her private chat with Hattori. "The ahou already texted he's on his way."
"And besides," Kazuha sends him a teasing look and an amused smile. "Even if we didn't have our boyfriends picking us up, you'll still get your hands full."
As if on cue, Shinichi was reminded of his girlfriend who's still clinging on to him, her constant breathing on his ear enough to make him go red, as if he's the one intoxicated.
He silently agrees to Kazuhas' statement.
-
Ran insists on walking home instead of getting a taxi. He protested but after being presented with the same adorable pleading look she always used on him back when he was Conan;wide eyes, pouty lips, and blushing cheeks, he was really left with no choice.
Now, they tread across the empty streets of Beika with the moon illuminating the area, Shinichi makes sure that his girlfriend doesn't trip from her quivering steps, choosing to carry her on his back, her arms hanging loosely around his neck while his hand secured on her thighs, assuring of no fall. The night serves peaceful, accompanied by a comfortable silence.
Until he decided to break it.
"Hey Ran--" he starts, wanting to ask her about the 'problem' he wasn't sure they're having, but was cut off by her instead.
"Ne, Shinichi?" her voice is a bit slurred but with his proximity, he heard it just fine. She seemed to have timed it when he decided to speak, deliberately avoid the questioning from him, concluding that something is wrong. He wanted to ignore her distraction and push further, but with Rans' current condition, he gives up and lets her get away.
"Hmm?"
"Did it hurt?" he stops walking in confusion at such a sudden question, prompting him to face her as she wears an innocent smile.
"What hurt?" he asks, not getting the point. It took him a few seconds to catch on to what her 'innocent smile' and question means, and he isn't exactly happy at the conclusion he got.
"Please no," he exclaims as she looks at him expectantly, really wanting to continue. he complains. "Isn't this supposed to be the other way around?"
A glare is all it took for him to know she's not giving up. However, Shinichi isn't going to comply so easily either.
"Let me guess, when I fell from heaven?" he teases her, ahead of the supposed pick up line she's about to say.
Instead of being angry however, Rans' smile widens more than before, not looking as innocent. "No."
Eyebrows furrowing in confusion he asks, "What?"
"When you fell for me."
He stares in disbelief. He had never expected such a cheesy pick up line to be even more cheesier than it already is and it honestly impresses him(in a bad way). Meanwhile, Ran looks way too proud of herself, a huge grin plastered on her face.
"Okay, you win." he states rather dejectedly and continues walking, wishing his surrender to be the end of her drunk flirting.
If he were to be completely honest, Shinichi somewhat expected Ran to do something crazy and uncharacteristic, since it isn't the first time for her to be this intoxicated. The last time, she sang random songs with the most intangible lyrics he had ever heard, her drunk singing voice comparable to his normal one. This time it's the same, only now it's sappy pick up lines instead of crappy lyrics( he isn't sure which one is worse).
"Shinichi," she starts again, and it was cue for Shinichi to pick up his pace to get home faster, and he did. But Ran is stubborn. She calls his name on repeat way too many times, that he has to stop and finally decides to listen.
"Alright, let's hear it and quickly take you home to your apartment because I'm already tired of this." he yields, defeated and weary. On the other hand, Rans' expression is the complete opposite, too cheerful and energetic like neon lights on a dark room.
"You know why you're tired?"
"Yeah because of your pick up--"
"Because you've been running through my mind all day long." she breaks into a laugh as he stops functioning, wondering how his girlfriend can be so witty and stupid at the same time whenever she drinks a lot more than usual.
He ponders if Kaito has something to do it. After all, there is no one better and worse at flirting with words than he is. Rans' are tolerable but maybe it's because he loves her so much that he does appreciate them, but they're still pretty bad.
He deadpans at her still cackling form just to express his emotions. "You know, other people will call you an idiot if they know you're doing this."
She pauses, her turn to be confused. "Just other people? What will you call me then?"
"My idiot who's doing this."
Her reaction is instantaneous. Her face blossomed a shade of crimson as she coughs, too taken aback while he tilts inwards, smirking at having to get back at her antics.
"That's not fair!" she whines, throwing daggers at him as she cough a little more.
"You started it." he yawns, the night catching on to him.
He really thought it was the end of it, but Ran always proves him wrong as she started once again. "Yeah, being good looking must be sooo tiring."
He really is impressed at how her mind can processed a mundane action and turn into a bad and cheesy pick up line. But he didn't become friends with the worst flirt in the world for nothing. Clearly not accepting defeat, he decides to play along. "Then you must be exhausted."
Her face turns into a blushing mess either from embarrassment or frustration or maybe even from both.
"Shinichi!"
And that's what they did until they got home. He truly was worried that there was something bothering Ran, but from the way she conversed and flirted with him(even though he's sure it's the alcohol talking), he was confident that if there was a problem, it isn't as bad as he expects it to be.
-
After an hour of throwing trashy jokes at each other, they finally made it to her apartment. He grabs the key he got from her earlier and opens the door, going straight to the sofa to put down his girlfriend.
Ran looks tired, eyes constantly blinking as she takes off her shoes, slower than it's supposed to be. She flops down on the couch, ready to doze off. Making sure she won't fall off, he strides into the kitchen to get some water.
Going back in the living room with a glass, he now finds her sitting instead of her laid down position a minute ago. She's dazed, eyes dead set on the table across as her brows intensely furrow as if trying to figure something out.
"Here you go," he sits down beside her, offering the water. He watches her drink it languidly, attentive to her every move. After finishing and putting it back on the table with a thud, Ran stands up, a hand on her throat.
"What's wrong?" he asks as the panic becomes visible on her visage, eyes roaming everywhere.
"I think I'm gonna throw up," as if on signal, she makes a strained sound while Shinichi rushes her inside the bathroom, certain that Ran won't appreciate walking into her living room with vomit all around it.
Upon reaching the toilet, Shinichi lets her bend over it and finally lets out everything she ate and drank that day as he soothes her back, stroking it back and forth. He also holds her hair up just make sure it doesn't get in the way.
"Are you okay?" he tilts his head in confusion as she turns around now done with her task, eyes watering slightly.
"I'm hungry." he sighs, having predicted it. He isn't the best at cooking, but letting his girl cook for herself while still being a bit visually impaired and losing her self balance every now and then sounds like the worst decision he can make in this situation.
"Fine. I'll make you something." hearing such words, Ran wipes her tears and beams at him. He leads her out of the restroom, leaving her on the couch and heading to the kitchen to cook at least a soup just to quench her hunger.
A few minutes passed and he comes back to a yawning Ran, with a hot and steamy soup laying in his hands. She offers him a drowsy smile, and he gives a knowing one in return.
"Here," he places the bowl on the table in front her and Ran takes it leisurely. She takes a chunk of food and blows at it, in the hopes of lessening the heat. Satisfied, she puts it on her mouth and makes a noise, glancing at him.
"It tastes good!" he chuckles and shakes his head in disapproval. "Thanks but, I'm pretty sure it only taste like that because you're drunk."
He leans in the wall as he watches her consume the soup with gusto, making his heart swell. When Ran finally eats half of it, he speaks out.
"Seriously, what made you drink so much like that?" despite the high chance that she won't answer, he still gives it a try.
After hearing no response, the detective sighs and looks away, deciding to let it slide and thinks that he'll just try again tomorrow.
But it looks like that he doesn't have to.
"It's Shinichi's fault." she said it so casually and quietly, but it didn't get pass his ears. Shock at the fact that she replied and at the specific retort, he looks back and stares at her.
"Eh?"
"It was Sonoko's little dare," she finishes the rest of the food without care and continues, "She told me how you're always so indifferent and said to make you blush or whatever. But, you you were so busy with the case that I didn't even had the chance and just gave up."
He was left dumbfounded. The events three days ago went back to him in a flash. All of Ran's little glances, her stuttering words, and even her hold on him before he left after taking her home finally made sense.
'That Sonoko!' he twitches his eyebrow in annoyance. He really should've seen that coming. If there was anyone this world who could think such an idea, it would be none other than their childhood friend.
He attempts to talk, but she beats him to it.
"But, now that I think about it, I really dont mind Shinichi being busy like that," she's now looking at him, a smile plastered on her blushing face, sign of still being under the influence of the alcohol. "After all, I really love Shinichi's face whenever he solves a case. Shinichi's eyes always lights up, like it's alive and burning. As if seeing a world no one else knows."
"Whenever Shinichi solves a case, he helps a lot of people. And it's amazing to know, that tons of people are alive right now—because of Shinichi." she rambles on, calling his name too many times as if she's only talking to herself, like he isn't standing right there at all to listen.
Her voice, despite being slurred holds honesty in them that didn't make the current condition of his heart any better as he's hearing her compliment him.
"I guess that just means, that I really love Shinichi." she laughs at her own words, finding such a revelation amusing.
Meanwhile, Shinichi stands there having only two things in his mind; that Ran is really drunk, and that he's just glad the dare is over. Because if it wasn't, with the way he feels his face burning right now, he was sure Ran would've absolutely won it.

///
It was no secret that Megatronus was a gladiator.
He was not ashamed or afraid to admit his purpose—to kill both beast and bot alike.
For the entertainment of the crowds, and in accordance with Cybertron’s corrupt caste system.
Such a life was a choice he’d made long ago, when he rose up from the mines and cast away the life of a meaningless energon miner. With it, he’d cast away a name given to him—a name which held no meaning anyway.
D-16 was no more—he was Megatronus now.
///
The wild cheering of the crowds invigorated Megatronus, fueling his drive to utterly mutilate the monster hulking before him. All he could think of was the desire to fight stronger and harder than ever before—to show off his power so he could bask in the glory of the hundreds all around calling his name.
             “Megatronus! Megatronus! Megatronus!”
The deafening roar of the onlookers filled his audio receptors, causing Megatronus to grin wildly, and the injured monster to bellow in terror. It stumbled forward hastily, only for Megatronus to dodge and deal another blow with his sword. Much to the delight of the crowd, the beast cried out in pain and reared up to attack Megatronus again.
There was no fear as Megatronus gazed into the black eyes of the beast, lit only with primal rage. They bored into him for only a moment before it shook its head and charged.
Call my name! Call it louder—shout it to the skies, Cybertronians!
He stood in battle stance, breathing hard but not yet tired. Bright lights all around blazed down on his plating, making the grey and burgundy glow as silver and red. His optics were alight with a wild look, as if he knew the battle was over and victory was in his very grasp.
Megatronus tossed away his shield, gripping the hilt of his sword tighter. He released a savage cry and charged right at the monster. Screams of excitements and fear sounded from every angle as he neared the gaping jaws of his opponent.
The gladiator swung the sword and neatly sliced off half of the grey tongue that greedily reached out at him. The monster instantly recoiled, writhing in pain. Blue blood sprayed everywhere. The warm, sticky liquid showered Megatronus as he slid the weapon into its holder at his hip.
He paid no mind to it, for he had known the tongue would bleed the most.
Megatronus took a running leap off the dirt and landed on the back of the beast. With his own servos, he grabbed its snout and yanked it towards him, bending its neck backwards to injure it further. It tried to swing him off, but Megatronus stabbed his sword into its body. The crowd collectively shrieked with anticipation upon seeing the legs of the monster buckle beneath him.
Before it could scream in pain again, he vaulted off its body to the side, twisting its neck with a fatal, sickening crack. There was a brief, abrupt silence while the monster moaned more quietly, attempting to move. It crumpled inward with a low huff.
A pool of energon gushed out from its wounds, soiling the ground around it as Megatronus backed away to watch it die. He grinned with pure delight—breathing heavily, limbs quivering with exhaustion—at his work. Only seconds later, the beast went totally limp.
               It was done.
The volume of the crowd was loud enough to sound as if the whole of Cybertron had packed into the small stadium.
              Megatronus was victorious again.
He felt pride and joy rush through him as he raised his sword and cried out to the masses before him.
“I AM MEGATRONUS, KING OF THE PITS OF KAON!!!”
             “Megatronus! Megatronus! Megatronus! Megatronus! ”
“I AM LIVING PROOF THAT ONE DECIDES HIS OWN DESTINY!!”
Hundreds packed together in the seats raised their servos and shouted as loud as they could, amazed by the skill of the gladiator before them, and filled with inspiration. Megatronus felt something warm in his spark, for he knew Orion was one of the many voices.
There was no disputing it now, D-16 was truly no more.
///
Outside the arena’s seating, there was a dimly lit, blue corridor. Various clumps of bots milled around there. Some were making their way out from the seats, conversating excitedly about the fighting, or were making their way back in. Others stayed outside for whatever reason they had. A quiet murmuring filled the space, contrasting greatly from the deafening roar of the arena.
Orion Pax had his back up against the wall, breathing hard. He tried to steady his breath, attempting to erase the images of the brutal murdering of that beast from his mind.
He had never seen anything so violent in his whole life.
Orion couldn’t bear it a second longer, hearing the crowd cheer hungrily for the monster to suffer more, and chanting all the louder for its death. All of it had felt so…wrong. For a second, he had wondered if everyone in there had lost their senses. Surely a society of civilized people wouldn’t bee chanting for the death of a living, breathing creature? Or will it to be tortured?
             And yet…they were.
He had slipped out to regain himself a little, and decided he’d return to his place when the act was finished. At least, if Orion didn’t watch some of the real fight, he’d see the aftermath. After all, Megatronus had invited Orion as a…somewhat esteemed guest. It was only fair that Orion, too, should raise his voice to cheer his friend on.
              I’m here for Megatronus.
I’m here because he invited me.
             I’m…here to…support him….
His stomach turned upon thoughts of what he was doing to the creature at the moment. He heard a loud roar of pain and the noise of the crowd increased greatly. Orion shook his head and slid down to a sitting position.
I’ll…I’ll wait here until it sounds like it’s over…or else….I just might purge…
///
“So then, Soundwave,” Megatronus shook hands with the quiet mech and nodded. “I’ll be off. I’m meeting someone now. We can speak again tomorrow, if you like.”
Soundwave nodded, then turned and left. Megatronus watched him go, interest dancing vaguely in his gaze.
What an interesting bot, being so quiet and yet saying so much.
The gladiator was suddenly hit with a wave of exhaustion, and it seemed the adrenaline that had pushed him through the fight was finally fading. With a small grunt, Megatronus stumbled and fell against the corridor’s wall for support. To Megatronus’ frustration, his legs were tremoring a little. He let out a sigh, straightening again after a moment with a small wince.
I suppose I…expended a bit too much of my energy today…
He still felt pride and joy in his victory.
Even still, all my efforts were worth it. I stand alive once more.
             “Good evening, Megatronus!”
Orion’s voice reached Megatronus before he sighted his friend at the other end of the corridor. Orion picked up pace and jogged down the hall to meet him.
Megatronus immediately felt his exhaustion dissipate.
             Orion had seen the fight!
He was eager to know what Orion had thought of it all. He knew it Orion’s first time seeing something as graphic and epic as this.
But more than that, Megatronus was eager to know what Orion thought of him. Battle brought out his truest form, and that form was Megatronus’ greatest pride. Having somewhat of an ego, Megatronus knew that deep down, all he needed to keep going was some sort of praise.
After all, who wouldn’t? Validation is a beautiful thing, especially in one’s own art.
“Orion, it brought me much joy to know you could make it tonight!” He and Orion shook servos and greeted one another, then started slowly back up the hall so they could leave the building. Megatronus continued, “How unfortunate you could not have seen me last week, when I, with great fervor, slayed—”
He paused, sensing Orion tense up next to him and look away.
             Odd.
“Never mind. Anyway, you are usually too busy with your studies or your work. How is it that you came tonight?” Orion sighed.
“My apologies. I hope to be a master archivist one day, and full commitment to my studies is essential for me to reach that goal.” He looked up at the sky speckled with thousands of stars and smiled. Shifting his gaze to Megatronus, who was listening intently, he nodded. “I did get time off tonight, though. I have Alpha Trion to thank for that.”
Megatronus patted him on the back.
They continued through the quiet streets of Kaon—well, the backstreets, to be specific. Megatronus knew how ugly the main streets could get with all the crazy bots running around at night. He wanted no part in it tonight as long as Orion was with him.
             And Orion is no fighter.
“Megatronus, uhm…” Orion’s voice jolted him out of his thoughts. He looked a little nervous. He fiddled with his fingers for a moment before taking a deep breath. “I…I hope you can be patient with me.”
             “What?”
“You might feel offended.” Orion tried elaborating. Megatronus, however, was not following. “I am only asking that if you are mad, that you don’t take it out on someone else…or that you can understand what my reasoning was.”
Offended? It made little sense. Yet his friend remained tense, and would not meet his gaze. Megatronus immediately felt guilty. Have I said something wrong?
“Orion, I do not understand what it is you refer to!” He picked up his pace, trying to think of changing the subject. He so desperately wanted to know about what Orion had thought of his battle with the monster!
“About the fight tonight…” Orion’s gaze dropped to the ground and he halted. Megatronus, who had walked a few paces ahead, stopped and turned. Oh, he read my mind. How funny; I was just about to ask!
“Listen, Orion, whatever it is, I’m sure it’s not—”
“I had to leave halfway through the fight. I…” He slowly lifted his gaze to meet his friend’s. As he’d suspected, the beginnings of frustration had already begun to spark into it. He mustered all his confidence to finish. “I waited in the hall because I couldn’t take anymore of the violence…or the bloodthirsty crowd. It…did not feel right at all.”
An uncomfortable silence weighed on the pair.
At last, Megatronus turned away and sighed quietly, breaking the silence. Orion felt guilt and embarrassment to the depths of his spark. He opened his mouth to say more, then thought it better not to. He figured Megatronus would have something to say to him.
“So…that’s it?” Disappointment was fully evident in his voice, causing Orion’s spark to twist more. Megatronus turned back to his friend and moved closer. His hands were folded behind his back. Orion swallowed.
My intentions were to be honest, but I fear I have taken an imprudent course of action…
Orion decided not to voice the thought. Instead, he quietly responded, “Yes.”
“I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I’m…very hurt, Orion.” Megatronus kept his voice level as he gazed into the archivist’s eyes, yet Orion could still hear dejection in its tone.
He realized he had to fix this.
But how? What do I say? Orion Pax, you foolish child!! He scorned himself internally.
“I am sorry, Megatronus. I understand that words will do no good, but for the moments I was there, your courage in the face of the beast was admirable.” Megatronus looked away. Indignance and annoyance welled up inside him.
              He’s probably making it up.
“And that is the honest truth.”
             Orion looked earnest.
He also looked and sounded guilty.
Is it? Or are you telling me what I want to hear? Why did you come if you knew you couldn’t stand violence and a crowd’s wildness? Orion, you anger me…or rather…
Megatronus then remembered his friend’s quiet plea for peace and patience beforehand. To lash out at him would wound their friendship forever, and give Orion the wrong impression of Megatronus. All that aside, Megatronus realized he…felt no anger towards his friend. The heated emotions faded, quickly replaced by pangs of rejection.
…such is my fate, being a lower-caste bot raised in blood, darkness and cold steel. Of course Orion does not find it beautiful, and I should not have forced him to witness such things.
It seemed they would have to allow time to do its work.
Megatronus began to walk away, saying nothing more. Orion called after him, but received no reply. His friend disappeared into the shadows of the night, leaving Orion feeling guilty and ashamed.
I won the battle, but I now feel…defeat.
Megatronus felt exhaustion creep back into his limbs.
///
On his way out of the city, Orion paid no attention to the tranquil, moonlit nature around him. He was instead lost in thought.
Had I said nothing, I’d have lied.
             He shook his head.
I can’t lie. I won’t lie. I know it would have come out eventually, and he would still be hurt.
A pang of sadness twisted his spark again.
Why couldn’t I bear it even for his sake? It is because I do not understand it that I fear it, I know. But...it is his joy...his art....and I was not there for him.
As he reached a train station, Orion still did not have any real thoughts in mind as he punched in the location for his ticket.
When the train arrived, Orion boarded and sat by the window.
I realize now that my intentions were faulted. It would have been better to stay quiet, becuase then I would not have hurt him.
             He closed his eyes.
Time will have to heal this wound.

[After her abridged reunion with Jacob, Carewyn had fully intended to spend some time by herself. Her heart was still twinging with raw frustration and hurt, and whenever she felt like her emotions could run away with her, she generally thought it safer to isolate herself so she could get a grip.
It seemed that Penny, however, had other plans. Not long at all after Carewyn returned to school, Penny caught up with her outside the Great Hall, looking very excited.
“Carewyn, there you are!” she’d said. “I was looking for you -- do you have time to come to the Courtyard with me? There’s someone you’ve just got to meet.”
Even though she truthfully wasn’t in much of a mood to meet anybody, Carewyn agreed, though she did convince Penny to let her change clothes first, since she’d gotten her Baby Blue Beauxbatons suit wet in her duel with Jacob. Once Carewyn had pulled on a comfier jumper, sweater, and jeans and fixed her hair and make-up, she headed out to the Courtyard.
As soon as Carewyn arrived, she spotted a large group of people already gathered at the back of the courtyard. Some of her friends -- Andre, Charlie, and Diego -- were among them. Penny was waiting just outside the circle. When she spotted Carewyn, her face brightened and she bustled over.]
Penny: “Hey, Carewyn!”
Tumblr media
[When Penny reached her, she quickly looped an arm around Carewyn’s and pulled her along after her.]
Penny: “Come on -- I’ll introduce you -- ”
[Penny led Carewyn to join the large group of people, who all seemed to be circled around a single student -- a young boy, probably a first year, with tiny warm brown eyes and a handsome smile, dressed in a yellow jumper.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[The boy, Cedric, smiled up at Carewyn. Despite his young age, he was already close to Carewyn’s modest height of 5′3″ -- it was clear he’s going to be very tall when he got older. When Cedric spoke, his voice was very unassuming, almost shy.]
Tumblr media
[Carewyn crossed her arms loosely over her chest and gave him a small, wry smile.]
“Likewise. When I first met your father, he spoke very highly of you.”
Penny: “Oh, that’s right! Amos Diggory was at that surprise party we threw for Hagrid, back in second year...I’d forgotten!”
[Cedric blushed slightly around his smile.]
Cedric: “Well, ah...Dad does exaggerate a little. I like that he supports me so much, of course -- I’m really grateful...but he just gets really excited, you know?”
Charlie: “(with a grin) If it was about your flying, I reckon he’d have a good reason to be excited, mate.”
Andre: “Right! (to Carewyn) You should see Cedric on a broom, Carewyn -- he’s a Seeker in the making.”
[Carewyn raised her eyebrows. That was high praise, from Andre.
Cedric glanced away shyly.]
Cedric: “I’m not that great. I’ve got nothing on Charlie -- he’s the really great Seeker.”
[The other people in the crowd seemed not to agree at all, for several of them immediately talked over each other to argue the point.
“Oh come on, Ced -- ” “ -- that extreme dive you did -- ” “ -- grabbed that Snitch like it was nothing!” “Charlie’s great, yeah, but still -- ”
The only person who didn’t seem interested in praising Cedric, oddly enough, was Diego. His face was scrunched up in a muted scowl that Carewyn had never seen before: it made him look oddly surly.]
Diego: “(airily) I imagine all that time flying must not leave you much opportunity to practice your spellcasting.”
Cedric: “(uncomfortably) ...I could certainly stand to study more...”
[His eyes flickered to Carewyn again almost guiltily. Was he feeling self-conscious?]
Penny: “(to Carewyn) Don’t listen to him, Carewyn, he’s just being modest -- I overheard Professor Flitwick mention how promising of a duelist Cedric was to Professor Sprout this morning -- “
Well, that explains Diego’s attitude.
[Carewyn glanced at Diego out the side of her eye with some concern. She could swear she sees a vein popping in his jaw.]
Diego: “(sourly) Well, bully for Cedric.”
[Penny, however, seemed blissfully unaware of Diego’s irritation -- she was already rushing onward.]
Penny: “Speaking of bullying, I heard you stopped a Gryffindor from teasing a Ravenclaw this morning, right, Cedric?”
Cedric: “(lowly) I sit behind Aaron in my Charms class -- he’s had a rough time of it lately, he didn’t deserve getting teased because of that. Anyone else would’ve done the same thing...”
Penny: “That’s not true! It was good of you, Cedric, very noble of you! You’d be a brilliant Prefect, with that moral compass -- wouldn’t you say so, Carewyn?”
[Cedric brought up a hand to rub behind his neck uncomfortably.]
Tumblr media
[Cedric shot a self-conscious, almost nervous glance at Carewyn. Did he think she felt like Diego, or...was he actually a bit intimidated by her?]
He must feel kind of like how I felt when I first approached Bill...
[Carewyn’s blue eyes narrowed ever-so-slightly, not critically but with empathy.
While everyone had gone on, Carewyn had noticed the first year Hufflepuff’s posture had been pretty consistently shrinking and his gaze had become more prone to wander -- not unlike how Carewyn herself looked away when she was uncomfortable and trying not to show it. Even Cedric’s speaking cadence had become a bit rockier and tentative -- almost like he were passively trying to signal to everyone to stop.
It was very clear to Carewyn that all of this attention was overwhelming Cedric -- and the thought of him being intimidated by her made her feel even more for the poor kid.
She closed her eyes, her lips spreading into a wide smile.]
Tumblr media
[She opened her eyes again and gave Cedric a broad, wry smile.]
“(dryly) As flattered as I am to be considered a hero...in the end, I’m just a girl with decent fashion sense who hasn’t really had a chance to breathe since first year.”
[Cedric couldn’t bite back a rather loud, dorky snort of laughter. He flushed a dark shade of red and covers his nose and mouth self-consciously.
Carewyn’s blue eyes softened visibly.]
“(kindly) I know this place can be overwhelming...but at least it seems like you’ve already seen how fun it can be too -- how many awesome, talented people you can meet.”
[She caught Diego’s eye and shot him a proud smile. The Dueling Champion, even if his expression was still oddly irritable, seemed to relax his shoulders slightly, seeing Carewyn’s reassuring expression.
Carewyn then turned back to Cedric.]
“...Just take things at your own pace and do your best, okay?”
[Cedric smiled more fully, his tiny brown eyes a bit brighter than before and his cheeks flushing a dark, happy shade of pink.]
Tumblr media
[Carewyn’s attention, however, was commandeered by a familiar black blur dashing across the Courtyard.]
Tumblr media
Sickleworth?
[Carewyn had quasi-adopted Rakepick’s Niffler after the ex-Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher left him behind the previous year. She knew it hadn’t been safe to bring him home with her over the summer, given that the Cromwell home was in a well-populated Muggle neighborhood -- so before leaving for the summer, Carewyn had introduced Sickleworth to Wicket, her own trained Niffler in the Magical Creature Preserve, so that the two could sort of “room” in the same burrow while she was away.
Imagine Carewyn’s surprise, therefore, seeing the mischievous little Niffler dashing around on school grounds, not with a piece of shiny loot, but a single bright white feather in his teeth.]
Penny: “(startled) Is that Sickleworth?”
[Carewyn turned back to Cedric.]
“Sorry, Cedric -- I better go catch my Niffler before he gets himself into trouble -- ”
Andre: “(eyebrows raised) Your Niffler?”
[Noticing the piercing look on Charlie’s face, Carewyn shot her friends a rather huffy look.]
“Ben and I found him last year after Rakepick left him behind...and well, someone’s got to look after him -- he’s only a baby!”
[She dashed off, tossing as pleasant of a wave and smile as she could back to Cedric.]
“Catch you later, okay?”
[As she left, Carewyn could’ve sworn she heard Andre’s voice say,
“Something you’ll learn pretty quick about Carewyn, Cedric...she takes care of everybody.”]
((OOC: Oh gosh, I think wittle Ced might have a tiiiiiny crush on Carewyn. XDDD Adorable Puffle boy! I don’t really see the logic in the game’s characters gushing about him quite so much when he’s still only a bloody first year, but Carewyn at least will be 100% okay with him preoccupying her friends while she deals with the Vaults on her own. No jealousy anywhere to be seen from Carey-bear.
Unlike in the game, Carey won’t be seeking out any help in tracking down Sickleworth. She’s perfectly willing to do things on her own, and considering that Sickleworth was once Rakepick’s, Carewyn doesn’t want her friends to help her in case this newest development has something to do with R, which...yeah, it does!))

In Vino Veritas and Fake Dating with Braime for the fic mash up?
I’ve never written POV of anyone but Brienne and Jaime for GoT, so here’s to a first! Hopefully not too OOC.
Also apologies for it probably being nothing like you wanted/expected, but I do hope you enjoy anyway.
———————
Sansa looks over her living room once more and finds the sight satisfactory; the pillows are fluffed and piled high, array of food and snacks are precariously piled on the table and the wine bottle is waiting to be opened. She thinks it might be very much needed for a certain someone to open up, too.
There is even a blanket to wrap around Brienne’s shoulders if she needs extra comfort at the end (which Sansa suspects she might).
It’s not that she has invited her friend over for a catching up and movie night just because of that thing. She has genuinely missed watching cheesy romcoms with Brienne on Friday nights - the way she would roll her eyes about idiot plot or couples that don’t know how to communicate, but lean in with baited breath at the end anyway because deep down, she is a fellow romantic. Merely forced to be embarrassed about it and that’s why Sansa loves giving her the space to indulge it.
And now Brienne is in middle of her own romantic comedy and Sansa is prepared for the battle of making her see the truth of it.
When her friend arrives, with her own share of food and a bottle of wine, Sansa wraps her up (to her best ability) in a bear hug and Brienne startles only a little before returning it. It’s truly been too long and suddenly, Sansa feels a wave of homesickness for Winterfell. For her family and her best friend, even the cold. She loves her job here, of course, loves the people King’s Landing has brought into her life, but maybe she’s due for a vacation and a trip home. Even if the needy ache in her chest might freeze over within a day when she’s there.
But tonight isn’t about her.
Except heroine of the hour doesn’t seem to be all too keen on ‘fessing up, despite all the little prods and prompts from Sansa, not at all subtle by second movie. (”Oh, if only she confided in someone.” “Can’t she see he’s smitten? All her friends do.”) It’s almost as if they’ve switched their watching roles as Brienne only hums in agreement, a small smile nestled in corners of her mouth as if she had a small, pleasing secret. And she does, except it is far from pleasing.
She thinks back to the frustration edged with hurt in Brienne’s voice a week ago. Wonders why Brienne doesn’t try to seek her help in solving the matter. Trust and any moment of vulnerability doesn’t come easy to her blonde friend and maybe the three years they’ve barely seen each other has closed those doors between them. The thought stings beneath her skin so Sansa pours another glass of wine to soothe it.
It’s halfway past midnight when her patience is worn down to bone and she straightens up, blinks blearily at the screen (Twenty four is not old enough to get sleepy at midnight!! But maybe it’s the wine. Just maybe.). Then refocuses on Brienne who looks at her expectantly, if a little warily.
“I know,” Sansa announces. “I know you’re only fake-dating Jaime.”
There. The cat (or the lion) is out of the bag.
Brienne’s face is blank for a moment before she buries it in her hands.
“No, I am not, Sansa.”  Her shoulders shake and Sansa’s not entirely sure if it’s because she’s crying, it doesn’t feel quite so when she hugs Brienne, but she’s here to reassure anyway.
“You don’t have to lie, Brienne. It’s okay!!” She squeezes Brienne’s shoulders empathically. “I overheard you last week, I didn’t mean to, but you were arguing how room sharing and kissing you in front of Tywin had been beyond your agreement and, listen, I know you’ve been crushing on your online friend that turned out to be Jaime fucking Lannister for ages and he’s obviously in love with you, so you should totally tap that.” It all comes out in a great rush and finally, Brienne stills and shifts to rest head on her shoulder, arm wrapping around Sansa’s waist in an awkwardly angled hug.
Instead of tears, there’s flushed but exhilarated grin on her face. “I know. I have.”
“You have what?” Sansa asks and then processes it just as Brienne grins even wider. “Tapped that.”
Next twenty minutes are spent in chaotic, overlapping questions and retelling of how Jaime had confessed his feelings a day after the argument Sansa had overheard. (”He said he kissed me not because Tywin would loathe the public display, but because he had dreamed of it for the past year.”)
She still scolds Brienne for not telling, asks if she ever planned to share and Brienne admits she had been afraid Sansa would want to cause some bodily (or reputational) harm to Jaime, if she thought he was toying with her feelings or otherwise hurting her, even unintentionally. “I still will threaten him with that, just in case,” Sansa swears.
“You don’t have to, I can protect myself just fine, Sansa.” Brienne’s tone is exasperated, but fond as they dip towards an age old argument.
“You can. But you don’t have to, always. Let us share some of that load sometimes.”
“Funny, Jaime said the same thing, after he punched Connington.”
And as Sansa shakes details about that out of Brienne, she thinks that maybe Jaime genuinely has earned a heroine like her best friend.
(Maybe Sansa has found her favorite romcom and is already designing a wedding dress. Just maybe.)

5x’s Someone Used the Mom-Arm on Damian, +1 time He Did
A bit screwy when it comes to following the canonical timeline but you know what? I do what I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some angsty, mostly fluffy, just a bit of batfam fun starring my favorite baby bat! Might be a tad OOC but it’s my first go with all these lovelies and I haven’t gotten the hang of them yet. Give me tiiiiime.
(Really hecking long. Did not mean for it to be so long. I am so, so sorry.)
i.
Jason worked alone. It wasn’t that he was broody and in denial like a certain someone - not mentioning names - he actually had a reason to work alone. He didn’t go on nightly patrols to keep up appearances. He didn’t drive around in a heated, leather interior, Jason mobile. He didn’t even have a butler who knew first aid.
Jason’s missions were dangerous, and often times traumatizing. You can imagine why he would be on edge when a freaking ten-year-old with an attitude showed up on the rooftop of one of his stakeouts.
“Absolutely not.” Jason hissed, grabbing Robin’s shoulder. Damian turned and raised an eyebrow at him. “Tt, please. You have no say in the matter.”
“Like hell I ‘have no say in the matter’. You’re going home right now or, so help me, I’m tying you to that A/C unit. Don’t you have homework? Or normal ten-year-old activities to attend to?”
“This mundane drug-cartel stakeout is an activity fitting for me, my age having nothing to do with my abilities.”
Honestly, would it kill the kid to use some contractions? His full-word responses were giving Jason the impression he was a robot and not his “baby brother”. Speaking of family...
“Where’s Batman? Isn’t he supposed to be looking after you?” Not me? Damian looked away, and it sort-of almost broke the shriveled remainder of Jason’s heart. So Bruce was still a moron. Good to know.
“Alright kid, stay close.” Jason tried not to notice the way Damian visibly brightened, and then did his best to by hyper-focused. He no longer was suspicious of Damian being a robot. He was just a kid.
Suddenly, there was movement. There was movement in the warehouse owned by a notoriously dangerous drug-cartel that wasn’t supposed to be making any moves for a few more weeks. Of course they had to move up their schedule. Of course Damian had to fight with Bruce tonight and warrant Jason’s pity. Of course Jason was an idiot, as Damian was already off like a shot.
Jason sprinted after him, using every curse he knew - he knew enough to keep rambling them until he was close enough to snatch Damian by the scruff of his neck.
Setting the fighting ball of fury back on the ground, Jason assessed the situation - Dick would be so proud. “Alright, we have to go check it out, but be quiet.” Damian geared up to rush off again before Jason even finished his sentence. Without thinking, Jason’s arm lashed out, it would’ve clothes-lined the kid if they weren’t so close together. As it was it caught Damian in the chest and he let out a whoosh of air, both arms wrapping around Jason’s. He looked up at him, almost-glaring.
“Quietly, and together.”
ii.
Dick did not like to admit it, but he’d never been the greatest driver. When he donned the cowl, worrying about learning to drive the batmobile hadn’t been his biggest concern. In fact, it wasn’t even on his list of concerns. It wasn’t even on his list of concerns for another time concerns.
“I’ll drive.” Damian, the adorable little gremlin announced as they put on their costumes. Dick looked up, looked at Alfred’s incredulous expression, and then back at Robin.
“Absolutely not.” It should’ve gone without saying that Damian was far too young to drive a car, not to mention the batmobile. It had missile launchers while most cars had seat warmers.
“I can drive.” Was this a serious argument? Damian was making his way to the vehicle and Dick worried that if he didn’t say something soon the little boy would just hop into the driver’s seat. “No. No! Damian, I will be driving.” Dick rushed to put on his other boot, stumbling to catch up.
Dick was wondering if maybe he should’ve let the kid drive. Damian could barely see over the steering wheel, but he’d probably be a better driver than Dick.
The batmobile unintentionally drifted another corner, nearly going up onto the sidewalk. A white van of gun-toting penguin goons got further away. Dick was white-knuckling the steering wheel, Damian was seething silently.
Dick could do this, he could.
Suddenly, the van lurched to a stop at the edge of the harbor. Dick had been too focused on keeping the car on the road, he hadn’t noticed the asphalt change to wood. He slammed on the brakes, car skidding on damp wood. Why was everything in Gotham always damp?
Dick’s arm shot out protectively, clamping across Damian’s chest. He knew he was wearing a seatbelt, but couldn’t help the need to make sure he was ok and not flying face-first through the wind screen.
When the car finally stopped, the brothers shared a look. Damian shoved Grayson’s arm off him with a glare.
“I think maybe I should drive.”
iii.
Cass looked up from her book only because the noise in the other room had reached a volume where it was impossible to focus on anything else. She didn’t bother hearing the words, just the voices. Ah, Tim had come home. And he was already fighting with everyone’s favorite gremlin, Damian.
Bruce wasn’t home yet, Alfred was as busy as always, and Duke was probably still at school. Wait, it was a Tuesday. Duke had tutoring today - he’d gotten involved in a mentorship program with younger kids at his school. The other boys would not stop teasing him about following in Bruce’s footsteps, or how they wouldn’t be surprised if he brought home his own Robin. Cass was proud of him.
That did not change that two of her other brothers were arguing at the top of their lungs and making it impossible for her to read, or reflect on her other family member’s achievements.
She got up and approached the living room without making a sound, stopping in the doorway. Damian and Tim were yelling, Tim’s arms were in the air, Damian’s cheeks were turning a frustrated shade of pink. She was about to say something diffusing when she saw it. She knew the signs well, was trained to watch out for them. Trained to do them herself.
Damian squared his posture, leaned on his dominant leg, and slid his left foot out no more than an inch. Tim was still in full swing. Cass shot forward faster than Damian could. She could not bear the thought of hurting her baby brother, but her arm shot out instinctively.
Damian, who had been in mid-lunge for Tim, was caught square in the diaphragm by Cass’s unmoving appendage. He let out an oomph and fell back onto the carpet. Tim started in surprise, taking in Cass’s sudden appearance.
“Wow, thanks Cass!” He said, but Cassandra had no use for words. She took in Tim’s casual body language and relieved expression. Then she looked at Damian. He was still on the floor, it had already been five seconds - his average stand-up time. His whole body was tense, controlled, not coiled. He was looking at the floor, his face was still red.
Oh. Oh no.
Cassandra’s stance fell and she crouched in front of Damian. He eyes were welling with tears. Maybe she should’ve listened to what Tim said in that argument.
Tim noticed Cass crouching, staring. “Uh, Cass...?” Too late, she’d already bundled the boy in her arms and stood. Tim took a step back, arms coming up to shield himself from the inevitable next move. He waited for Damian to attempt to break away from Cass, to lash out kicking and screaming, maybe even biting.
To everyone’s surprise - except Cass, she was never surprised - Damian curled into his sister’s shoulder. She nodded at Tim before moving to leave.
“No more fighting.”
iv.
Bruce was finally settling back into normal. Well, nothing in Gotham was normal, especially if you were secretly the most well-known vigilante in the city. But, normal to him.
He was no longer ‘dead’, Dick was no longer ‘dead’ and visitng Gotham regularly, Tim and Duke had settled in to living together with their littlest brother and, oh yeah, he’d gotten Damian back. After months of work and tireless efforts, he could finally hold his baby boy in his arms again. He could ruffle his hair in passing, compare school photos to his own as the boy got older, and bundle him up in a hug when he had nightmares of him being dead.
And Damian was here, with him. He wasn’t going to be another Jason, another loss of a beautiful soul. He was sitting right next to Bruce on the couch, pencil skittering across a page of his sketchbook.
Still, it hadn’t been long enough for Bruce’s fears to dissipate. In fact, he doubted they ever would. He would be over-protective of Damian for the rest of his life - even if the young man didn’t want it.
Breaking the silence, there was a bang at the window. Damian started before setting aside his sketchbook to go check what it was. It was probably Alfred - the cat. Still, images of horrible things went through Bruce’s mind.
Talia, there to steal Damian away permanently.
Assassins, back to finish the job.
Even just a robber taking advantage of a large house smelling like money, who had the element of surprise and a gun.
Bruce was up before his brain knew what his legs were doing. His arm lurched away from his body, stopping Damian in his tracks. The poor boy walked right into it, rubbing his ribcage with a puzzled expression.
“I’ll check.” Bruce offered as explanation for the offending appendage, leaving Damian by the couch and pulling back the curtain. Bruce finally let out the breath he was holding at the sight of the fluffy cat on the windowsill.
v.
“Slow down, don’t rush into things!” Tim hissed, firing his grapple after Damian. He could see the yellow underside of Robin’s cape land on a building ahead of him.
Tim was more experienced at Gotham thugs, he didn’t blame Damian for not noticing it. Damian was young, and probably trying to prove something to Tim. He was obsessed with proving his worth. He didn’t take the time to smell the air.
The standard Gotham smog was thick with the smell of burning gasoline. There were promising tendrils of smoke from the building diagonal to Damian. The building he preparing to grapple too. Oh geez.
Tim ran, he was just fast enough to stick out an arm and block Damian from running forwards and leaping off the edge of the building.
Damian ran right into his arm. Tim had been expecting him to barrel through it for some reason, maybe because he was so good at fighting or had such bravado. Instead, he reacted the way all eleven-year-olds did. He was knocked back with a grunt, nearly falling over.
Tim blinked at the strange display of childish behavior as Damian stuck his arms out to regain his balance. He hadn’t even exerted any force on Tim’s arm. His glare after that display lacked any heat, and it was kind of adorable.
“Damian, pay attention.” Tim gestured at the on-fire building. Suddenly, there were sharp popping and cracking sounds from the smoky warehouse. Tim’s full attention was on it now, and he pulled up the specs of the address.
It was an old office building but had been abandoned after one of Joker’s attacks damaged the structural integrity. There were signs and bars on every doorway marking it for demolition. He looked over and saw Damian was already doing a read for heat signatures.
He was, for once, proud of his brother.
Then Tim noticed something on the specs. The building had an old built-in heating system, attached to a gas-powered generator on the third floor. Hoo boy, it was going to blow.
After a rather loud bang, Tim acted. For once he didn’t plan out every bad thing this next action could cause. He lunged, using the arm that had still been hanging in the air slightly in front of Damian to grab his little brother and pull him against his chest. He then ducked and pulled his cape around them. Before Damian could recover from the surprise, the building exploded.
Tim could feel debris bounce off him, though not much. Heat bit at his ankles. Nothing broke through his cape barrier. One hand braced on Damian’s head, he tucked the boy suffocatingly close. Damian didn’t move until the blast had dissipated.
When it had, Damian shoved hard on his brother’s chest and made a display of brushing himself off. Tim didn’t miss how Damian’s attention was actually on him, quickly assessing him for any injuries. He had none.
Tim was proud of his brother, for a second time.
+ (vi.)
Damian did not get along well with most of his siblings, so when the opportunity arose to spend time with one he had actually grown to respect, he took advantage of it. Alfred’s suggestion had made him excited in a way that Mother would’ve thought shameful. Damian did his best not to think that.
He was nearly bouncing in the backseat of the buick, looking out the window without actually seeing.
Duke and Damian did not get along when they first met. However, Duke made it clear he was not Robin, nor trying to replace Damian. He was useful in a unique way. He fit in at the manor. He respected Bruce, he even seemed to respect Damian.
Damian wasn’t so sure he was liked by Duke, but respect was enough. At least, it used to be.
If respect were enough, would he be listening to Alfred’s show tunes on his way to pick Duke up from school?
They pulled up to Gotham Academy to see Duke walking out, the bell having just gone. Damian nodded at Alfred’s timing. One of his favorite things about the man was how he always managed to have perfect timing.
Damian found himself getting out of the car, dangerously close to waving at Duke. Duke saw him and... was that a smile? Damian let out a breath of relief - he’d momentarily been afraid Duke would not be happy to see him.
When Duke reached him, they were interrupted by a group of teenage boys yelling at them. It took Damian a moment to realize they were yelling at him.
“Duke, I thought you had too much self-respect to get in a car with some spoiled little rich kid!” Yelled one. Rich? Yes. Spoiled? Well, only recently.
“The brat’s probably illiterate since he’s too much of a coward to go to school!” Damian knew several languages and was already 3 grades ahead. Couldn’t they think of any better insults?
“Little arabian bastard, did they actually do a DNA test on this one?” Ok, that one stung a bit. Damian was preparing to get back in the car and bristle, perhaps vent to Grayson later. He was not prepared for a low growl to come from Duke.
“How. Dare. You.” Thomas hissed. Damian turned back to look at him, he was positively seething, fists clenched at his sides.
“Come on Duke, why hang out with the petty little brat?”
Duke lurched forwards and Damian’s eyes widened in surprise. Was he actually preparing to defend him? Damian copied a move he’d learned from the rest of his family to diffuse a situation.
He stuck out his arm, though it only caught Duke in his middle, he looked down. Successfully diffused. Damian was impressed with the immediate effect.
“They are not worth it, Thomas.”
Duke nodded and followed Damian into the car. Then he grinned.
“Back there... you... did you just mom-arm me?”
“What-arm you?!”
Alfred restrained laughter the rest of the way home at Damian’s facial expression while Duke explained the reasoning and use behind the ‘mom-arm’.

Set it all free; Queen x reader
*Author’s note*
Hey guys, well after reading several Bohemian Rhapsody fanfics on some tumblr pages, I thought I might try to have my luck at it. Now please bear in mind this is my first time ever writing a fic about a Band. I don’t normally write about musicians (private message me about my reasons why) but after seeing the movie Bohemian Rhapsody last month, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Anyways I also got inspired after listening to Scar Jo’s song she did in the movie “Sing” to also help with this fic. So I hope you all enjoy this and any Queen fans out there, hope I didn’t make the boys to OOC or make this story suck.
Warnings: Swearing, cheating, bit of angst, fluff over all.

_________________________________________________________
It was a typical day at the studio.  Being a college student doing an internship is a luck of the draw, getting that one in a million chance of interning under the biggest band in the world like Queen. That’s practically almost damned near impossible. But yet here I am.
Jim Beach or as Freddie likes to call him “Miami” hired me to help assist with the band during recording sessions as well as 3 weeks of touring with them.  While being their intern, I got pretty close with the guys, I looked up to them as not only my mentors for music and songwriting (since I play and sing a little bit but never really had the confidence to perform in front of a live audience) but they became like 4 big brothers to me.
Sadly however tomorrow would be last day of the internship before the next world tour of Queen, which meant I wouldn’t see the guys until 6 months until then.  So I tried to make do with the time I had with the guys left.
I was currently lying on the couch watching Deaky do his solo bass recording for their current next smash hit.  Once he was done he asked.
“How was that?”
“Let us turn to our younger audience for approval,” Brian said into the mic so that Deaky could hear it.  The boys then turned toward me.  Of course me being a college student, they always wanted a “younger” persons perspective just to see if young people like me would bang their heads, or drum on their attiring wheels while the song played on the radio.
“What do you say darling? Will your people love it?” asked Freddie.
“Oh um please hold,” I played along and made my hands into a phone and then said in my best snotty business voice, “Queen it’s the Grammy’s you’ve just won the awards for Best Producers, Best Vocal performance in a duo/group and Best song of the year.”
“Oh darling you are too kind!” Freddie praised.
“In all seriousness it was great guys, you don’t have to always rely on me to be the barrier you need. Your breakout for Bohemian Rhapsody already proved your musical talents. Much better than ‘I’m in love with my car’.”
“Watch it squirt, I was just starting to like you” Roger threatened.  I stuck my tongue at him playfully giggling.
For the rest of the day, it continued on watching the guys record again and again until it was up to Freddie’s image.  Once the recording was done, the guys were now just lounging around drinking some beers while I was packing up to head back to my apartment.
“Okay guys, I’m about to take off.” I said.
“Oh come now (y/n) darling, stay for a while and have a couple of drinks with us” suggested Freddie.
“I can’t Fred, I’ve got an early class tomorrow and a shit ton of homework, if I miss this bus right now I’m officially gonna be late for classes tomorrow.”
“But love tomorrow’s your last day with us, and after that we won’t see you for years.” I went to argue when Brian interjected.
“It’ll only be six months Fred. Go on love, you’re free to go. We’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Thanks Bri,” I then hugged and kissed the boys goodbye and said my farewells and they did the same for me.
I then raced out of the studio and headed towards the bus stop that was a few blocks away and thank God I made it just in time as the bus was coming.  I paid my fee and took a seat and took out my journal and started writing my internship for the day, logging in how many hours I did and retailing the hours in total I now had so that they would count towards my Internship credit at the University.
By around 7pm I finally arrived at my neighborhood and did the remaining 5 block walk to mine and my boyfriend’s apartment.  Oh yeah the one detail I left out, I live with my boyfriend Adam.  We met at University, me being a music major as well as him so we hit it off pretty well.
He’s cute and pretty good looking, but sometimes his attitude can really be a real pain in the ass. Like when I first signed up for the internship, he at first didn’t want me to take it because that would mean I was always would be away from him.  We had a fight about it till finally he just dropped it.
So things lately between us have been strained, so we’ve been trying to avoid each other, even though we live under the same roof which sometimes makes even going home awkward.
When I finally arrived at the door, I unlocked it and set my bags down with a groan and said.
“Baby I’m back.” But there was absolute silence.  I thought it was a bit odd because he’s usually still here after dark, very rarely does he ever go out this late.  “Adam? Adam you here?” I called out again.  I looked around the usual placed of the flat where he would usually be but he wasn’t in the kitchen, the living room, not even his game room.  So I decided maybe he was sleeping in our bedroom.
I walked down the hallway towards our shared bedroom and when I opened the door, my heart sunk.
Adam was asleep in bed alright, but he had another woman in his arms cuddled into his chest. I turned on the lights and screamed out.
“WHAT THE FUCK!?” Adam and the bimbo woke up and I saw that she looked like she belonged at a strip club with long blonde hair and possibly fake boobs.
“Hi, I’m Becky” the girl introduced herself in a bubble voice.
“Becky!?” I snarled.
Next thing I knew, I was tossing my now ex-boyfriend and his slut out of my flat.  Adam was struggling to put his clothes back on as was Becky when Adam proclaimed.
“You were never around! What else was I supposed to do?”
“I did it for us Adam! You couldn’t have had the balls to breakup with me? No! Instead you bring this, this this—bimbo into our flat. And you sleep with her in our bed!” I then threw his prized guitar case at his chest which knocked him down to the ground.
“Oh sweetie I’m sorry. I think I left my hat in there could I maybe—” before Becky could even walk another step into the flat, I slammed the door in her face and pressed my back against the door.
‘Come on Becky, let’s get out of here!’ I heard Adam say.
I was in hysterics as I slid down onto my butt and tears filled my eyes.  I couldn’t even be in this flat anymore.  Without even thinking, I just bail out and took off running.
I didn’t care if people walking past me saw my crying, all I cared about was just getting as far away from my flat as I could.  And I don’t know whether it was by some miracle nor do I know how I managed it, but I soon ended up back at the studio.  And judging by the lack of the limos and other cars, I knew no one would be home.
Using my extra set of keys, I entered the studio and turned on a couple of lights so that I could see better.  I first went into the loo and I finally saw how god awful I looked.
Blood shot red eyes, tearstains glistening on my cheeks, as well as mascara that made me look like a wasted raccoon.  I turned on the tap and splashed some water on my face hoping to clean myself up before taking a towel and dapping my face lightly with it until I look slightly presentable.
I then walked into the recording booth and spotted the couch.  I plopped down on it and grabbed the blanket that was over the top of it and covered my entire body with it, head and all.
Hoping and wishing that this couch would just eat me alive.
*3rd Person POV*
Around 8am sharp, the members of Queen well three of them anyways Brian, Roger and John arrived at the studio for another days of recording when they first took notice that the studio had been unlocked.
Worried that the place might’ve been ransacked, they rushed in but saw everything still in the right order.  They noticed a couple lights were on so they walked towards the recording booth in the back of the studio and that’s when John noticed someone sleeping on the couch.
He quietly walked up towards the couch and removed the blanket just enough to reveal the head and that’s when he saw (y/n).
“It’s (y/n) guys.” He said quietly.
“What the bloody hell is she doing here this early?” Roger asked.
“I dunno” stated Brian.
“Should we wake her?” asked John.
“Good idea, you do it Deaky.” Roger said.
“Me? Why me why don’t you do it?”
“The last time I got on that girl’s bad side waking her up, I nearly had all my hair chopped off!”
“Hush you two! If you children keep arguing she will wake up.” Brian hissed quietly.  He then shoved the other two out of the way and knelt down beside the couch and gently stroked her shoulder and whispered, “(Y/n), wake up love.” With that, (y/n) began to stir.
*My POV*
I grumbled as I felt myself waking up and the first thing I saw was Brian kneeling down in front of me.  I looked up to also see Rog and Deaky standing a couple feet away from me.  All three men looking at me with the same look.
Concerned.
“Hey” I stated tiredly with a hint of sadness.
“Morning (y/n). How long have you been here?” asked Brian.
“Don’t remember the time I got here, but it was pretty late. Ran all the way here from my flat.”
“Wait, wait hold on. You ran all the way from your flat to here? (Y/n) that’s like 3 bloody miles! Why did you come here?” Roger interrogated.
That’s when everything came back to me.  Adam and her. Tears once again filled my eyes as I let out a couple of sobs.
“Way to go Roger you made her cry!” Deaky snarled.
“I didn’t mean to! (Y/n) love you know I—”
“It’s not you Rog. It’s not any of you.” I choked out.
“Then what is it? Come on love tell us,” Brian encouraged me as he had me sit up so he could sit beside me.  Roger sat on the chair while Deaky came back with a box of tissues and sat on the other lounge chair beside Roger.
“When I got h-home last night. I—I found…..Adam. He was….He—he slept…..with another girl in our room!” I took a tissue and pressed it against my right eye as I let out a sob.
Now I have told the guys about my relationship.  Around my 2nd week of my internship with the guys, we were all just hanging out and they were talking about their relationships/marriages and that’s when the boys started to interrogate me on if I had a special man in my life (mainly from Freddie) and of course when I said I did.
They wanted to know everything.  It was like my four brothers became my four dads as they wanted his name, what he did for a living, how we met, how long the relationship had been going on for, and whether he was treating me right.
When I told them about the starting strain of the relationship, Roger almost wanted to go to my flat and beat the living shit out of Adam but I told him we were trying to work it out to avoid Roger Taylor being front page news of beating a young college boy.  But of course he said, ‘so long as the headline say; ‘Roger Taylor defends girl’s honor’.’
“Where is he?!” Roger growled.
“Rog not now” Brian tried to keep the peace but Roger cried out.
“No! I made a promise that if he broke her heart I’d beat his bloody arse into a pulp! Now tell me (y/n) where is he?”
“I don’t know, and frankly I could give a shit. I should’ve just ended things when they got bad. This is my fault, maybe I deserved it.”
“Don’t say that love! You didn’t deserve anything. If anything he didn’t even deserve you.” Brian assured me as he rubbed my shoulder comfortingly.
“Adam was a dick to do that to you (y/n). And I agree with Brian he’s not worth it, not even your tears” Deaky said as he took another tissue and reached over and wiped away the tears from under my eyes.  I looked between the three of them and just before I could say anything, the doors opened the Freddie came strutting in.
“Alright lads let’s get straight to—(y/n) why the long face darling?” he asked.
“Her boyfriend was shagging another girl last night in their flat.” Roger said clearly still wanting to kill Adam.
“Oh no, come here dear,” he came right over to me and took my hands and stood me up so that he could embrace me tightly in his arms. “Deaky, why don’t you and Rog go and make her a cup of tea, Bri see if we still got any leftover sweets.” The three of them left the booth leaving Freddie and I alone.  “Did you stay here all night?”
“Yeah I just—I just couldn’t stay in that flat I…..”
“Shhh, there, there darling. Not another word about it, he was a wanker. All little boys are.” I managed out a smile. “There’s that smile I love so much darling,” he gently brushed his thumb against my cheek and lifted my chin to look up at him as he continued, “You can stay here and take it easy. You don’t have to worry about doing any work, and if anyone questions your lack of work for your final day, I’ll out in a good word for you.” He winked down at me just as Brian came back with the bowl of sweets Deaky bought a couple weeks ago, and both Rog and Deaky came back with a cup of warm tea.
The boys then guided me to a private room located next to the recording booth that felt more like a lounge room that the guys would use to just sit around if they ever needed a private moment to focus on songwriting or whatever.
Freddie set me down at the small love seat, Roger had taken the blanket that I had used last night and placed the blanket over my shoulder, Brian placed the bowl of sweets at my lap, and Deaky finally handed me my cup of tea.  Judging by the smell of it, it was my favorite brand; Jasmine.
“You just take all the time you need to get settled, and if you need us, we’ll gladly drop everything and help you out.” Said Brian.
“You guys don’t have to do all that—”
“Nonsense darling. You’re hurting and we can’t allow you to be sad. It’s a crime in itself. We won’t take no for an answer. Whatever you need, no matter how big or small, you just let us know. No matter how busy we are” Freddie interjected.
I looked between the four of them and just couldn’t believe my luck.  The biggest rock band in all the world, were my angels sent from above to help me through my heartbreak.
“I swear you should change the band from Queen to Angels.”
“Darling the only angel among us is you” said Freddie as he gently stroked down my hair and planted a kiss at the top of my head before leaving the lounge room.  Brian gave me a sideways comforting hug before kissing my temple, Deaky came up and kissed my cheek then Roger came up and kissed my other cheek before ruffling my hair messing it up to which I playfully shoved him making him chuckle.
Once the guys left me alone to begin their work, I sat there drinking my tea and snacking on as many sweets as I could.  About 10-15minutes into just sitting around, I just knew I had to play a song, but not just any song.  I was getting inspired to make my next song that I had in mind.  So finding some paper and a pen and noticing one of Brian’s guitars still in the lunge room, probably from the last time he must’ve been in here to just do some strumming or whatever.
I knew he wouldn’t mind cause he offered that if anytime I wanted to play, I was allowed to use his guitars so long as I didn’t break them cause otherwise he’d curse me for eternity.  I sat down on the floor and just did some strumming while I hummed trying to find the melody of my song first.
I tried about three different tunes until I finally found the right rhythm of the song.  Then came the lyrics.  Now as mentioned before I have written songs in the past but like with any song it’s not always easy but thanks to some of the tips that the boys have given me, I simply wrote what I was feeling down on the page.
The first and second verse came pretty easy to me but the chorus was where I started struggling with the most.  I quietly strummed the rhythm to myself as I sang what I was thinking.
“I can finally see it’s not just your name. When you set it all fr—free. No, no that’s not it,” I scribbled out the first few lines of the chorus and tried it again.  I then turned Brian’s guitar and played the tune again as I muttered the new lyrics this time, “When you set it all free, all free, all free. You set it all free”.
“(Y/n)?” I looked up to see Freddie standing by the door way.  His eyes widened almost in shock as he just stared right at me.  “Have you—been writing that song this whole time?”
“Well, not the whole time. I’ve only been just finished the first half of it in what—” I looked up at the clock to see that two hours have gone by since I started. “Two hours, wow that long? Is it bad?”
“‘Is it bad?’ Darling, it’s amazing! You have to sing it for us!”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa Fred slow down. You know how I feel about singing, I can barely sing in front of you guys without almost having a breakdown.”
“No worries darling, we’ll work on that. Just show us what you’ve got so far, please I would really like to hear it.” He looked at me with those puppy dog eyes of his and I knew I couldn’t refuse.
“Alright” I groaned before he cheered and took my hand and dragged me back to the booth.
“My darlings, our little rock angel has been working on a song of her very own and I say we give it a listen to it.” The boys turned toward me and Deaky said.
“Is it true (y/n)?”
“Yeah I’ve uhh—it’s just something I thought would help me out with—you know.” At that moment, the boys dropped their things and sat in front of me anticipatingly like little children ready for a story from their teacher.  I knew then I had no other choice.
I sat down at the couch in the correct posture and tuned Bri’s guitar to the right key and strummed a couple of times.  I then began to sing as much of the song as I had ready singing the first two verses and then the chorus.  Once I was done, I looked to the guys and they all now looked like profession record producers as they muttered and whispered to one another.
“It’s not complete yet and I know it still needs work but I just—”
“Quiet for a second darling, the adults are talking.” Freddie said as he held up his finger gesturing me to be quiet.  They continued talking before nodding and standing up.
“Well (y/n), you were right there is a lot of work to be done with the song” Roger started off, “First of all it needs more than just a guitar, the first few lyrics should be introduced by drums, not strums of a guitar.”
“Secondly you’ll need a base to pick up rhythm of your melody on the guitar” John said.
“And of course the lyrics need more, plus some rewriting just a couple of the words.” Stated Brian.
“But this song will truly be a smash hit.” Finished Freddie.  I smiled at them and we all then got to work.
For months I met up with the guys to work on the song, improve on the lyrics and hear the accompaniment they’ve come up with on how the song will sound all together.  I then got gutsy and whenever I would record my guitar solo I had in mind for the song after one day in class, I played it for the guys and they all sat there in shock, even Brian, “The Guitar playing God” of Queen was blown away with what I had done.
Finally Queen was ready for their second tour.  This time worldwide.  We were about to tour everywhere from coast to coast of Europe, across America, to Rio, Japan, China and even Australia.  Then one day just before our show in New York City, the Big Apple itself.  I was backstage helping some of the crew set up for the show when Roger called for me to their dressing room.
I followed behind him and when I entered I saw the guys all sitting around looked dead at me. I was confused and asked them.
“What’s going on?”
“(Y/n), we’ve been talking and it’s time.” Brian said.
“Time for what?”
“In the middle of our set, we are going to introduce you and have you sing the song that we’ve helped you with.” Said Freddie.
Shock doesn’t even compare to what I was feeling.
“No I—I can’t this is…..I can’t sing out there. This is a Queen concert not a Queen featuring an unknown college girl who thinks she’s a singer. I can’t I won’t sorry wrong number I refuse!”
“But you can’t darling, you’ve got to finally show that wanker Adam that he hasn’t won in breaking your heart. Show him up on that stage that he didn’t break you down, that he didn’t get to you. Own that stage just as I do.” Freddie said as he placed his hands on my shoulders looking me right in the eye.
“Freddie I—what if I screw up? You know how I feel about big crowds and this—this show is sold out. I know I’ll choke. Why can’t you sing it?”
“Because this is your song darling, and I won’t take credit for a song that isn’t mine. Especially one that is personal to you”.
“And you won’t be alone up there love, you’ll have us backing you up.” Brian said as he came up to me.  I looked at all four of them and they all looked like they really wanted me to do this. I sighed deeply and said.
“How long do I’ve got to get ready till showtime?” The boys all cheered and they all guided me towards the makeup room.  The boys each had an idea of how I should look on stage and what my wardrobe should look like, for they didn’t want me to be a frilly princess cause they all knew I hated that, but they didn’t want me making a slut of myself.
So in the end, I was in long black jeans that flapped out at the ankles, a wore a dark grey patterned black shirt with a black leather jacket.  My makeup was a basic base with a dash of sparkling blue eyeshadow and to add to my eye makeup, my eyes were given wings to make them really pop out. And to top it all off, Freddie had actually asked Mary to go by apartment and I was given Becky’s light grey flat cap.
I looked at myself in the mirror and almost couldn’t believe that this was really me.  I twirled a bit of my long hair and said.
“This is so—scary.”
“Honey you never looked better,” Freddie said as he came up behind me and looked at me in the mirror. “Our little angel is ready to fly, and she is going to give those two arseholes a reason to fear her.”  A knock was soon heard and the stage manager called out.
“Five minutes till curtain gentlemen.”
“Stay lose to the stage, we’ll give a proper introduction dear,” Fred kissed my cheek and the boys all filed out giving me either a nod or a gentle pat telling me all would be well.
The right at 8pm on the dot, the introduction of Bohemian Rhapsody began to play on stage and the crowd went nuts.
The boys gave the audience a well earned Queen show, singing all the favorites like “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Somebody to Love”, “Killer Queen”, “We Will Rock you” followed by “We Are the Champions”, and “Crazy Little thing called love” and “Another one bites the dust”.
It was then Freddie gave the crowd as well earned “Ay oh” which they all echoed back.  He kept the audience on their feet with how quick he would sing the note or have them screaming when he would hold a note.  At the end he proclaimed.
“Alright!” The crowd all cheered loudly. “Now ladies and gentlemen, this next song is gonna be something different. It’s written by a wonderful friend of ours, heck she’s an angel to us. But tonight, she will finally break out and we shall witness first hand of a future Rock Angel being born. So New York we’d like you to give a warm, Queen welcome to (y/n) (l/n)!” The crowd all cheered and I was practically frozen backstage.
I almost didn’t want to move but I took a deep breath and slowly walked out onto the stage adjusting Becky’s hat on my head with my head held high and the guitar in my hands.
The audience cheered louder as I came up on stage and Freddie turned to me and embraced me and I somehow heard him say through the screaming crowd.
“Own the stage darling, we’re right behind you.” I then walked up center stage up to the mic that Fred had adjusted to my size.  Even though I couldn’t see the audience, I knew what the stage’s size was and had seen all the seats before showtime and I already had pictured in my mind that all of them were filled and they were all looking right up at me.
I turned to Freddie and he mouthed to me.
‘Breathe.’ I took a big shaky breath in and exhaled out as I closed my eyes before opening them once more.  I turned towards Brian, Rog and John and they all nodded to me.
I adjusted the guitar in my hands and had everything plugged in thanks to the team and I took my right foot and slammed it down on the stage.
youtube
Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Like a heartbeat.
Roger then accompanied me with the drums and I turned to see Brian, Fred and John clapping their hands in the air to get the audience to clap along.  Soon thousands of people were clapping in unison as I began my song.
*Me (Queen)*
I followed my heart into the fire Got burned, got broken down by desire I tried, I tried but the smoke in my eyes Left me blurry, blurry and blind
John and I soon picked up the accompaniment with the guitar and base. I turned towards Fred who stood at the piano and he gave me a confident nod before allowing me to take the stage for a while. I then turned the volume up on my guitar and once the chorus hit I just let go.
I picked all the pieces up off the ground I've burned all my fingers but that's gone now Got the glue in my hands
I'm stickin' to the plan Stickin' to the plan that says
"I can do anything at all” I can do anything at all
This is my kiss goodbye You can stand alone and watch me fly 'Cause nothing's keeping me down gonna let it all up Come on and say right now, right now, right now This is my big hello 'Cause I'm giving, never letting go I can finally see, it's not just a dream When you set it all free, all free, all free
You set it all free (Oh oh oh) (Oh oh oh) (Oh oh oh)
Feeling more confident, I then took off Becky’s hat and tossed it into the audience and I continued the song.  My boys backed me up on the vocals but for the main singing, they left it all to me.
I was a girl caught under your thumb But my star's gonna shine brighter than your sun And I will reach so high (so high), Shoot so far (shoot so far) (She’s) Gonna hit, gonna hit, hit every target
Make it count this time I will make it count this time
This is my kiss goodbye You can stand alone and watch me fly 'Cause nothing's keeping me down I'm gonna let it all out Come on and say right now, right now, right now This is my big hello 'Cause I'm here and never letting go I can finally see, It's not just a dream When you set it all free, all free, all free
You set it all free (oh oh oh) You set it all free (oh oh oh) You set it all free (oh oh oh)
It was then Brian and I doubled out on our guitar duets.  But when the moment came for me to explode on the guitar solo I had in mind, Brian allowed me the chance to shine so that he wouldn’t upstage me (like I mentioned, even he feared me at this solo).
I then sang in acapella for a brief moment letting my sorrow take over for a brief second but refused to shed anymore tears as Roger came back up with the drums and the rest of the boys followed behind me as we finished the song.
This is my kiss goodbye You can stand alone and watch me fly 'Cause nothing's keeping me down I'm gonna let it all out Come on and say right now, right now, right now This is my big "hello" 'Cause I'm here and never letting go I can finally see, It's not just a dream When you set it all free, all free, all free
You set it all free (oh oh oh) You set it all free (oh oh oh) You set it all free (oh oh oh) You set it all free (oh oh oh) You set it all free
I slid across the stage on my knees as I just allowed my final solo to take over and then die down. I was so overcome with the adrenaline the entire stage was almost silent to me.  But when I began to recover, I could hear stadium cheers of a real Queen audience, only they weren’t cheering for Queen.
The roar of applause was for me.
I couldn’t even get up as I was overcome with emotion lowering my head and sobbing tears of happiness.  I was soon lifted by Brian and engulfed into a group hug by my four boys.
“Didn’t I tell you all? We just witnessed the birth of a true Rock Angel! Give it up one more time for (y/n) everybody!” Freddie proclaimed into the microphone.  I waved to the audience and raced backstage.
After the second half of the concert was done and our trip to New York was over, the boys came piling into the dressing room where I was recuperating after my performance and I was once again tackled into a group hug of them all piling up on the couch and hugged the hell out of me.
“Oh darling you were amazing out there!”
“You were fantastic!”
“You are a Rockstar now love, welcome to the club!”
All their praises made me feel so good in side and made me forget all about my heartbreak.
“I say this calls for a celebration!” Proclaimed Freddie.  He then took out the champagne and poured into five glasses and we each took a glass and Freddie toasted, “To our lovely and sweet angel (y/n). Who proved today that heartbreak is never the end. You prevail through it and become one beautiful, shining star in the heavens. To (y/n)!”
“To (y/n)!” The boys praised as they toasted to me.  I lightly clanged my glasses to them and I added.
“But none of this would’ve been possible without you guys giving me the confidence to get on that stage.”
“No love, that was all you. We didn’t do a damn thing.” I smiled at them and we continued the celebration long into the night.
*Extended ending*
It was another several months after and Roger and I spent the day together.  He was actually helping me move into a nearby flat that was right around the corner of where he and his wife were currently living that was up for sale.
After helping me move in, we had lunch together and that’s when someone tapped my shoulder so I lowered my sunglasses and saw Adam standing over me.
“Hey (y/n).” he said quietly.
“Adam.” At his name Roger went to sit up but I took his wrist and held him back.
“Listen, I’ve been doing some thinking and I was a real wanker for bringing Becky into our flat and sleeping with her. I want you back baby, you’re my best girl the love of my life and I can’t live without you. Please will you take me back.”
Oh I knew exactly what kind of game he was playing.  For you see shortly after my first concert with the band in New York, record companies left and right were trying to have a piece of me but I stuck close with my boys and had Miami be my record executive.
Currently now I am in the works of my first album and on a few songs I do have my boys featured with me.  I was being paid big money while Adam here probably got dumped by Becky by the look of his unclean state and needed to be supported now, so he thinks he can crawl back to me and hope that I’ll forgive him for breaking my heart just so he can live off my well-earned money.
I put my shades back over my eyes and I said to him right in his face.
“You were. The way you turned your back on me after three years of a relationship that meant nothing to you but everything to me. You are worse than Paul if not up to his speed Adam. Which is why I am going to do to you what I should’ve done the very first day I met you in the University cafeteria.”
I then took my ice cold water that had just been refilled, took him by the loop of his pants and dumped the water down his pants.  He cried out at the freezing cold on his balls while I took my pasta and dumped it all over his head and then topped him off with Roger’s pie to his face.
I didn’t even care if I had an audience watching me, he deserved to be humiliated just like he humiliated me.
“Tell Becky I said hi.” I sneered happily as I grabbed my jacket and walked away.  I felt Roger’s arm go around my shoulder and he said.
“Couldn’t have done it better myself love, I’m so proud of you.”
“Really cause I can still feel my hands shaking.” We both laughed and he brought me close in a one armed hug as he kissed the top of my head and we headed back to my new flat.

Psycho Killer: Chapter 3 - You Used To, You Used To
Tumblr media
Summary: Archie Andrews hated when his job took him to high places. Betty Cooper loved when her job took her to posh places. Jughead’s job only took him to dark places. This is a story chronicling the lives of three young hired killers. AU/Majorly OOC, sex, swearing and violence.
Words: 1,981
Warnings: Violence, swearing, sexual conversations
A/N: I edited this myself so there are probably errors. This is chapter 1 and 2 and also find the story on AO3.
Also, I need to make sure that you all know that these people are moral ambiguous, their compass does not point due north. These people are not 'normal' so if they say or do something that seems awful, that's because it is. Life means something completely different to them and in their line of work, life has no value until a dollar value is placed on it.
Jughead Jones’ job only took him to dark places. He didn’t get to go to fancy parties or stalk around in high end neighbourhoods. He didn’t get to watch his marks from a distance in a park or across the room at a fundraiser. When Jughead met his mark it was already too late for them. There was already fear in their eyes, tears and snot dripping down their faces knowing that a swift and painless death was not in their future. He would never know who there were, he would only ever know their end.
His marks were always brought to him, they were always naked and the kill always took place in a basement or in the middle of nowhere. He would set up a video camera in the corner of the room and he would do whatever the client had requested of him. The video was delivered to the  after completion. On the rare occasion, the client would be in the room with him but the price to do that was substantial. You’d really want someone to suffer to pay for that.
He worked alone, only the sounds of his victim screams accompanied him and they continued to accompany him long after they had died.
The words ‘please’ and ‘you don’t have to do this’ had lost all meaning to Jughead Jones.
He didn’t like what he did but he knew he needed to do it. He knew death was a part of him and without this job he wouldn’t be able to function even half normal. It was one of the reasons he left medical school and joined the army. It didn’t take his superiors long to realize where Jughead excelled and he was promoted to the position of military torturer. His official title was interrogator.
Not long after that the company he worked for now, Attentäter, found him and offered him a job. It was more money, it allowed him to take his “interrogation” to completion and he could leave his old life behind.
At work people didn’t gravitate towards him, they didn’t ask how he was or what he did that weekend. People were afraid of him. Other than himself, only one other woman specialized in torture and he didn’t like her. She was too much like him. He couldn’t bear to see himself reflected in her eyes.
So he kept to himself, only spoke when someone spoke to him and hung out exclusively with Archie and Betty. They were the only two people who wanted anything to do with him. He was used to this, he didn’t have any friends when he was Forsythe Pendleton the Third either. He was always an outsider, he was always alone and he was fine with that until he met Betty Cooper.
From the moment he laid eyes on Betty he was enchanted by her; her humour, her spirit, her beauty and her passion. She was free in all the ways he was not. Jughead was a slave to his need to kill while Betty did it for the rush, she did it because she liked the way she felt when she took a life.
He was thrilled when they were assigned to the same handler after orientation and training, it felt like it was meant to be until Archie Andrews walked in.
Jughead wasn't confused as to why Betty chose Archie. He was handsome, confident, funny and he had an aura about him that drew you to him. Even Jughead wasn’t immune to his charms; he never thought much about his sexuality but he knew if Archie asked him to bed he would say yes. The most important quality Archie possessed was his ability to know what he wanted and how to take it. He asked Betty out the second after their first meeting with Cheryl was over and that was that.
Jughead never stood a chance.
He marvelled at Archie and Betty’s confidence, they were so self-assured in every aspect of their lives while Jughead was only confident in one part of his life; killing. He felt confident with a gun in his hand, he felt secure when he slid a knife into someone’s neck, he felt sure when he put a saw to bone or a scalpel to skin. He found it amusing that he had the knowledge to save a life but the only time he felt like himself was when he was ending one.
The three of them arrived home a little after one. Jughead found himself sitting on one of their overpriced crème coloured sofas with a bottle of bourbon in his hand watching Archie and Betty dance to a Drake song. This was how Jughead spent most of his nights. Getting drunk, watching them dance, watching them cuddle, watching them whisper and laugh as he waited for them to go bed.
Jughead was a fool for not asking to be reassigned but he knew he couldn’t be away from Betty. While he wanted for her in a carnal way, friendship was enough for him. He needed something with her rather than nothing at all.
“Jug!” Betty shouted. She was drunk and could no longer walk in a straight line. She flung herself onto the couch filling the space beside him as she curled her yoga pant clad legs under her. She smelled like tequila and the cranberry body lotion she loved. Jughead buried his nose in her hair and pulled her close so he could breath in her intoxicating scent.
“What is it, Bets?” He asked calling her by her nickname.
“Come dance with me. You never dance with me.” She purred as she placed a hand on his thigh.
“Why do you love dancing so much? Especially to this shit.” Jughead inquired pulling his face away from her as he pointed to the iPod dock.
“Because the body is meant to be used and before mine stops working I intend to use it in every way I know how.” Archie answered pragmatically as he downed a shot of tequila.
“What he said.” Betty said with a wink, resting her head on his shoulder.
“My body doesn’t look like yours Arch, it doesn’t move like yours either.” Jughead put the bottle up to his mouth and drank it’s contents while he tried to ignore Betty’s hot breath in his neck.
“It would if you taught it how, Jug. You’re an expert in hand to hand combat.” Archie responded. “If you can do that then you can dance.” He winked at Jughead before grabbing a slice of pizza they had picked up on the way home as he disappearing into the kitchen.
Betty grinned and skimmed her lips across Jughead’s ear and whispered, “Dance with me. I’ll show you how.”
Jughead realized that he had no choice, he had to dance. She stood and pulled him up with her as she pushed her body up against his and draped her arms around his neck as a new song started. “I love this song.” She whispered as the sound of ‘Got to Give It Up’ filled the condo.
Jughead placed his hands and her waist and swayed with her. “D’you like this song, Juggie?” She asked, slurring her words and using him to keep herself upright, her last drink must have put her over the edge.
“It’s all right.” Jughead said looking at her hooded blue eyes.
They moved slowly to the beat. “See you know to dance, all you have to do is sway and roll your hips.” She giggled.
“Are you okay, Bets?” He wrapped his arms around her waist holding her tight against him, afraid that she might fall over.
She nodded while slowly licking her lips. “I’m just trying to relax and have a good time but right now, I need to pee.” She pulled away from him and stumbled down the hallway.
He found his way back to the couch and his bottle of bourbon. He directed his attention to the television which was playing an endless loop of infomercials and sex chatline commercials on mute. Jughead watched the TV while he listened to Archie break things in the kitchen and then swear copiously.
“Jug?” Archie yelled.
“Yeah?” He said finishing the bottle and putting it on the coffee table.
“Can you call the maid in the morning? There’s glass all over the fucking place.”
“You always do this Arch.” Jughead sighed, running his hands over his face and then looking towards the hallway. “Betty, you all right?” He called hoping she wasn’t sick.
“Do you want her tonight?” Archie asked leaning against the doorway with a dishtowel in his hands stained red with his blood. He had undone two more of the buttons on his shirt and Jughead knew that if Archie drank anymore he would start to get loud and violent. Archie would never direct any of his violence at Jughead or Betty but they had replaced nearly everything in the condo because of his destructive behaviour. They all drank too much but Archie indulged to a dangerous degree and he had no discipline or self control when he drank.
Jughead wasn’t sure he had heard him correctly. “What?”
“I said do you want Betty tonight?” He had a lazy grin on his face.
Jughead rolled his eyes and shifted uncomfortably at his red haired friends question. “Seriously, Arch? She’s not a thing.”
His grin grew wider as he walked over to Jughead and plopped down on the adjacent couch. “I never said she was but she does love sex and she loves you so I figured…” He trailed off waiting for his roommate to finish the sentence.
Jughead undid a few of the buttons on his shirt. He suddenly felt confined by it. “You figured what?”
“That you’d get some! We talked about this man.” He said leaning forward slapping Jughead on the arm. “I know you haven’t gotten laid in a long time.” Archie popped a peanut into his mouth that Jughead didn’t even know he had.
“Archie, she’s with you. She’s yours.”
Archie closed his eyes, sighed and stood, shaking his head. “You just told me she wasn’t a thing, Jug. How could she possibly be mine?”
“You coming to bed?” said Betty in a quiet voice, interrupting their conversation. She had changed and was in a t-shirt and black panties. Her face was free of makeup and completely beautiful. “Are you coming to bed?” She asked again, her eyes drifting to Archie and then landing on Jughead.
There was a moment of silence and Jughead knew that Archie was looking at him waiting for him to take Betty up on her offer. When Jughead did nothing Archie sighed angrily, “Yes, I’m coming.”
Her smile grew and her eyes lingered on Jughead for a moment before Archie pushed her down the hallway.
Jughead looked around their penthouse condo, all wood and crème. Not too big and not too small, enough furniture and pictures of them but not too many, just enough to make it look like they were normal people.
It was all an illusion though, they weren’t normal and they never would be.
He rose from the couch and realized how drunk he was. He stumbled into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water and groaned when he saw the shattered tequila bottle and Archie’s blood all over the floor.
He used the washroom, went to his bedroom, stripped down to his boxers before collapsing into bed. He could hear Betty and Archie talking but it was just murmurs. They hadn’t started having sex yet but they would, they did every night. Jughead took his noise cancelling head phones and put them on playing a random mix of rock and metal.
It was the only thing that drowned out his roommates and the screams that echoed in his mind.

afar || Tim Drake
Another request on Wattpad,
Summary; the reader confesses, Tim rejects. Warning(s); N/A, not sure, probably slightly OOC Timmy.
You didn't know when it started, the happy feeling when you saw him smile or laugh. His happiness was so contagious, same goes for his sadness. You would always notice every time his face fell, you couldn't help it.
The fact that he was a handsome and smart dork only made your feelings for him getting worse.
Truth to be told, you weren't watching him from afar in a literal way like every cheesy teen romance novel would start with, in its very first chapter. You were his friend, one of his closest friends actually. You always took a seat across or by him, you could care less about it, as long as you could see him it was enough.
You being able to talk to him is just a bonus in your friendship.
Currently, the said boy was sitting across you. The both of you were still in the class doing the tasks for an upcoming project, he helped you through everything you almost feel ashamed that you couldn't understand what your teacher taught you as fast as he could.
Tim saw your dejected look and he waved a free hand in front of your face as the other stopped writing, "are you listening?"
Heat rushed up to your cheeks, silently praying that he wouldn't notice your faintly rosy cheeks you shook your head in defeat, "n- no, sorry Tim," You apologized. "I think I'm a little tired." You lied.
Tim didn't say anything nor push the matter further, he just took your book and made some lines to mark the important things you needed to work on. "Here." He gave your book back, offering a smile your way.
You felt your heart flutter in the presence of his smile as you returned his with your own, taking the book back from him. "Thanks and sorry about the spacing out earlier."
"Don't worry," he assured you, turning around to pack his things before he slung his bag over his shoulders. "I'll walk you back home."
You were going to refuse but stopped, instead, you nodded to accept his offer. Along the way, you argued with yourself in your head, debating if you should tell him how you felt or keep it for another day maybe even weeks or months.
No, you told yourself. You couldn't wait anymore, your feelings for him would burst if you didn't tell him right away. You would take any risks.
But boy, were you wrong.
"I'm sorry." This time the apologies came from Tim, he couldn't look at you in the eye so he averted his gaze to the ground. There you have it, his expression was laced with guilt. "I don't think I can, I like you! But not in a romantic way." He mumbled.
You didn't know what to do, you asked yourself for the answer. A part of you was begging for you to cry, the other to ran. You stared at him for god knows how long before he lifted up his head to look at your unreadable expression.
Tim opened his mouth, ready to give you one more word of apologies but you beat him to it. "It's okay, I understand." You forced a smile to your lips as you hugged him briefly, "see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, see you tomorrow." He flashed you another smile, watching you walk away after giving him a wave.
**
You weren't sure how long you had been staring at the ceiling of your room, limbs sprawled on the soft mattress of your bed as you replayed earlier events until you felt yourself teared up.
You shouldn't have done that, stupidly confessing.
Thinking about him didn't feel the same way anymore, no cheesy butterfly in your stomach, your heart didn't pound with happiness, no smile was formed on your face.
All you could feel was your chest tightening in the most painful way you could think of, you always have to clutch your hands across your chest as you cry. Sobs after sobs kept on coming.
Every time you went to school you could feel the gap between you and him, you would avoid him. Slowly, your friendship with him ends, it was gone along with your feelings for him.
Watching from afar should've been enough.
**
Little did you know Tim couldn't shake off the guilt, you might haven't realized it that day but he did. He saw your lips quiver, eyes wide as they went red for a brief moment.
Tim sighed as he wrote his notes.
How long was it? A week? A month? He wasn't sure, he didn't count the time after that day.
He had to bear seeing you sitting in front of him with shoulders slumped, trying hard to avoid him if it wasn't for something important.
Tim had tried to talk to you, tried to apologize one more time but your answers were always, sorry I can't or maybe later? I have something to do, for now, it was always the latter though.
He tried and tried then finally stopped when he saw you walking with someone on your way home. Surely, it wasn't Tim since his hair wasn't black, his eyes were not blue, and his smile wasn't as dorky and as contagious as Tim's but whoever it was, is working on it.
Now? Tim knows how you felt, watching someone he came to like from afar. Different from yours, he couldn't talk to you anymore.
He watched you like the sun watching its earth.
