These were quite popular when I did them for One Piece, and I might do some more. But at the moment nearly all of my requests are One Piece, so I am going to sprinkle in more of my personal writing for other fandoms here and there until there’s more requests for them. Don’t get me wrong, still love one piece, I just like MANY other things as well. And well, these are usually pretty cute UwU Enjoy!

Katsuki Bakugo 

Dumbass, among others is his most preferred nickname for you. 

Bakugo’s nicknames for you are generally not that nice, and not that fluffy nor sappy, but he means them lovingly. It’s like he calls Kirishima shitty hair, but he does that with love. 

When he uses your actual name he means serious business, and it’s usually bad news. 

When he’s in an exceptionally sappy, emotional or good mood, he’ll go for the more classic babe and such. 

He will 100% pretend to hate it when you call him any nicknames. 

Don’t be fooled, he absolutely loves it, and you just see his reaction when you just call him Katsuki, he will be absolutely disappointed. 

Maybe refrain from calling him Kacchan though, that’s Deku an Denki Privilege and he does not want to associate his partner with them. 

Compliments are pretty rare, and are sometimes even disguised as annoyed remark. Point them out to him and he will look away and blush. 

Don’t be surprised when you hear him curse even while complimenting you, he just has to say everything aggressively, even declarations of love and admiration. 

Just like with nicknames, he will pretend to not necessarily like certain compliments. Like when you’re saying he’s strong, he’ll either confirm or say that it’s not good enough yet. 

But again, theres a 90% chance he’ll look away to blush. 

Especially once you’re in a serious relationship and the more sincere and heartfelt your compliments get, the easier it is to get him flustered.

Like don’t be surprised if there’s a new one every day. They are all very sweet though, although some might be a little weird? 

Matching couple nicknames are definitely a thing with him. It may feel a little weird at first, but once you lean into it, it’s kind of cute. 

With that territory comes gag gifts and the Mr. & Mrs. items. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules. After a while even your friends start giving you these gifts. Can’t help it you two are so cute together. 

Denki, emotionally intelligent as he is, not only compliments you frequently, but he knows exactly what to compliment you on to make you feel better.

Sero tends to stick to the more standard nicknames when it comes to you. In the beginning, he will even just call you by your name, maybe change the suffix to make it more cute or friendly, but he’s actually a tiny bit shy to start calling you nicknames. 

The moment you start though, he’s quick to adapt and just blend in and go along with it, echoing your nicknames for him back at you, in whichever way is appropriate. 

One time he tried a more personalized nickname for you, but it was more an hilarious attempt than a cute one. It stuck though and now you use the nickname frequently, not only for him to call you by, but also the other way around, it’s hilarious.

Mina can come up with the most nice, yet crazy and unique nicknames you’ve ever heard. 

Based off of memories you share, based off of your quirk, your looks, your style, things you do, things you like... sometimes a new one will just pop up in her head and she will start calling you that. 

Some last a long while, but she’s got at least 2 new nicknames for you every single month. You just do so many things together and it’s just so easy for her to come up with new ones. 

By all means, do the same for her. She absolutely loves it. At some point no one will know who you’re trying to call, but that’s okay, the both of you always know whenever a nickname is meant for the other. 

Mina is always lifting up those around her and compliments will always be a big part of that. Not only to you, her partner, but just everyone!

natasha sings fondly about the moon and the snow, seeing as it was where she fell in love with andre. yue and sokka LITERALLY fell in love in the same place: in the snowy nothern water tribe under the light of the moon. childlike eyes: THEYRE CHILDREN!!! distant smile: this is where it gets a little sad. theyre both children with way too many duties during a world that has known nothing but war for the past century. they want to be happy but yeah, theyre smiles are distant and far away because happiness seems out of reach for them most of the time. i'll never be this happy again: the moments yue and sokka shared together were probably the happiest either of them ever were. they were able to ignore the war and the world in the moments they shared together. and with no one else. no one else would be able to give each other this sense of peace and happiness and love.

"joy and life inside our souls / and no body knows just you and me / it's our secret"

Yue and Sokka had to sneak out in secret at night to go and see each other. Yue and Sokka couldn't be together for real because Yue was already engaged, but they were literally in love so she decided to see him anyways in secret. kasdjfhklasjd im losing my mind over them at this point.

"this winer sky / how can anyone sleep / there was never such a night before / i feel like putting my arms around my knees / and squeezing tight as possible / and flying away"

these are my FAVORITE lines in the entire song. yue and sokka had never felt this strongly about anyone before and that's why they are so drawn to each other. they had never experienced love before and they wanted to hold onto it for as long as they could even though they knew they couldnt. Sokka takes yue up on appa and she is wistful and wishes she could live like he does every day: ie flying away. oh my god these two deserved so much better. so much fucking better.

now for the saddes part. the saddest fucking part.

"maybe he'll come today / maybe he came already / and he's sitting in the drawing room / and i simply forgot"

natasha misses andre so intensely at this point. when i first listened to this show and heard this song i was like "wait a min... is andre like... dead?" and im sure i wasnt the only person who assumed that this was why natasha felt so sad by the end of such a beautiful song. (spoiler alert andre is fine)

but this line really exemplifies how sad natasha is, and hints at the fact that andre may never come back. it implies that their relationship is doomed (at least in my opinion) and that's all yuekka. Sokka misses yue intensely when shes gone. Yue accepted her fate almost immediately but sokka was in denial. he thought there had to be another way. but in the end it wasn't meant to be. and sokka will go on, loving yue, wishing for her back, even though it's not possible.

zukka: all i've ever known- hadestown

"i was alone so long / i didn't even know that i was lonely / out in the cold so long / i didnt even know that i was cold"

sokka is from the swt so theres where the cold comes in. also in the gaang (initially) it was just him katara and aang. and katara and aang were much closer to each other than sokka was with aang and the two of them were benders so sokka was kind of an outsider with the two of them. He also represses a lot of his emotions and feels the need to do everything himself so i do see a lot of loneliness in sokka. and the fact that so many people in his life have left him (his mom, yue, his dad, suki briefly, etc...) he is known to keep people at an arms length. i see a lot of loneliness in sokka.

zuko's loneliness is a lot more obvious: he has literally been cast out and abandoned by everyone except iroh. and even then he still feels the need to be alone (remember zuko alone? thought so) these boys look after themselves and push others away and revel in their loneliness in order to keep themselves from getting hurt. at least in my opinion on canon and also some fanon because id be a liar if i said fanon didnt influence how i view ALL my ships (not just zukka)

these two are extremely similar in canon. many parallels. older brothers overshadowed by their prodigy little sisters. longing to make their fathers proud (granted one dad is good and one is fuckin evil), both are pretty bad with emotions. both are seen protecting others before themselves (sokka protecting suki during the serpant's pass, sokka protecting toph on like multiple occassions, zuko protecting katara in the final agni kai), the list goes on. they know who the other is because they see themselves in the other person. they already know each other because they are each other (in a way, not entirely, but the similarities are strong in my opinion)

i just think this line is so cute and sweet (ignoring all the symbolism and foreshadowing that comes with the last line in the musical itself. im gonna pretend this is nothing but happy) and i think these boys deserve happiness so yeah. this song is zukka to me lol.

jetko: thrill of first love- falsettoes

if you've never listened to this song go an do it now. you will know INSTANTLY that it is jetko because of the dynamics alone. marvin and whizzer are pure jetko and i take no crticisms.

marvin and whizzer are both extremely stubborn, and they don't always get along, and they fight a lot, and they get mad at each other a lot, and they are both passionate as hell, and they will bring this passion into everything. they love each other that is without a doubt, but they arent perfect and they are once again stubborn and determined as fuck.

sound familiar? it's literally jetko.

the lyrics aren't what remind me of jetko, but the dynamic itself. the lyrics are too on the nose for a gay couple in 1970's america so that rlly cant apply to jetko all that much. but the way these two characters bounce off of each other and get annoyed with each other and argue with eachother reminds me of jetko. because let's be honest: these two are the most stubborn characters in the whole show. they will fight for what they believe and it will take literally everything to change their minds.

i love jetko but i think they would have petty arguments all the time and get aggravated by one another so easily. and this is even seen in canon: they work so fucking well together but they did not even HESITATE to fight one another after neither of them would give in and let the fight about whether jet was right or wrong about zuko being a firebender. like i cannot say it enough they are stubborn as fuck.

but underneath all that stubborn pettiness and bickering: marvin and whizzer still love each other. and jet and zuko would still love each other. because even though they are stubborn when it comes to arguments, they are even more stubborn and determined when it comes to each other. these two passionate motherfuckers are in love.

(now when i chose this song i decided to ignore the fact that this song literally spells out the fact that marvin and whizzer's relatinoship is doomed because they literally say passion dies. thats the difference between jetko and whizzer and marvin because i dont think passion dies. i chose this song strictly for the bickering lmao)

toph is always seen grabbing onto someone (and its almost ALWAYS sokka) when she's somewhere where she can't use her feet to see. FEEL and ARMS cmon. look at it.

COME ON. IMAGINE TOPH SINGING THIS LINE. this line is already powerful enough in les mis but having toph, a blind character, sing it just makes the symbolism even deeper. toph sees the potential relationship they could have together. toph sees that sokka is oblivious to this. toph is not blind to the truth or the potention, but sokka is blind to her feelings. im about to lose my mind over this line.

i need to sit down for a moment. toph grew up in a household where her parents did not understand her. she has learned to hide her true emotions and vulnerabilities from everyone. and its the fact that toph knows that she and sokka will never be together and the fact that she still loves him in spite of that is what makes this even more heartbreaking.

They are extremely happy about it, they think it is so adorable that you look up to them like that! They don't even question it once.

They also enjoy playing games with you a lot if you're up for it

Whenever you feel down they'll always be there to cheer you up, just expect it to be with candy or stuffed animals...or fire.

Despite their juvinile nature they do their best to make sure you feel happy and safe around them at all times

He doesn't notice at first, but then backpedals and asks you to confirm what you just said

Once you explain, he gets all emotional about it. He honestly can't believe you see him as a dad but he is seriously, really honored.

He'll call you lassie or laddie if you're okay with it

He will act pretty fatherly around you clapping you on your shoulder and such sometimes.

He'll try to cut down on his drinking a little so you can see him as a good role model, even if you say his habit doesn't effect you personally

Engineer

He doesn't question it, but he does comment on it, he finds it very nice of you to think that way about him!

He will act like a true dad around you, making sure you're okay, and happy. He'll also try and teach you a few things about engineering too.

He'll probably call you "Buckaroo" or something of the sorts

He is also confused at first, but not at all opposed to it, he is a very nuturing man, having taken good care of his family all those years back in Russia

He laughs about it at first. He is not trying to be rude, he just thinks it's pretty funny for someone to think of him as their dad

He will actually avoid doing any experimenting on you or any dangerous procedures. This is when he realises he cares about you in a sort of paternal manner

Oh boy is he awkward about it. He pauses and stutters a lot when you called him "dad"

He won't really know how to deal with it, he is not a very emotionally available person and likely not very paternal either

He still tries though, although it likely won't be very obvious, at least at first. He'll try his best to stay kind and patient with you

He is just...silent. He doesn't say anything because it honestly hits him in a really weird way.

He feels conflicted because of how absent he was with Jeremy, and believes it would be hypocritcal to act paternal to you instead of his real son, but at the same time it makes him feel nice. Because of his mistakes with Jeremy he feels awful and wishes there was a way to learn better

He tries to learn how to be a good father figure through you, and what he learns he hopes he can someday express to Jeremy

That is not to say he doesn't care about you! He really does but he won't admit it in a very outward manner, he cares a lot about your wellbeing and safety

Expect him to keep this all quiet. He's worried about judgement from other mercs about this, thinking they'd consider it hypocritical. In private he shows he cares by listening to you and giving advice that he can. He also tells you some things other people don't really get to hear either.

Don't expect a nickname from him, he also would feel very awkward about it

I hope you're doing well! I've been following your blog for a while now and I've finally gained enough courage to send in a matchup request. This is my first request here so I hope I did well in describing myself! Also, I'm sorry if my grammar's bad ^^'

To start off, my mbti is infp-t while my enneagram is 4w3. I'm a really private person and it can be quite challenging to really know me - which explains my small social circle. Those who are close to me has said that I'm actually really hard to read (I swear it wasn't intentional! I really thought I was easy to read but I was wrong after all lol). In social settings, I'm often quiet and prefer observing rather than engaging myself with other people. I would give them a smile to be polite though but I won't talk unless it's about something important. I'll always make sure to think twice before I talk too, so that I wouldn't offend anyone by accident. While I'm not much of a talker, I won't hesitate to speak up if anyone disrespects my beliefs and personal values.

Despite how unapproachable I may appear, I'm a huge emotional mess and I have a deep interest in trying to understand other people. I do have the desire to be noticed by others but at the same time, I kinda didn't want to draw too much attention on me. When I'm around people that I'm comfortable with, I won't even bother to hold back my feelings. I love trying to make people happy and I'm always ready to listen to other people's problems, hoping so that I could lessen their worries and burdens. As an empath, I can absorb other people's emotions and put myself in their place - though, it can be overwhelming for me sometimes. I'm also quite affectionate and goofy once I'm comfy with the person.

I'm protective over the people I love and will do anything I can to defend them if things go wrong. While I dislike arguments and conflicts, I won't hesitate to fight someone if they bother the ones I'm close with. I also have a really huge soft spot for children lol. I'm quite adventurous and a curious person by nature. I always try new things for new experiences since I get bored easily. I had to admit that I have the attention span of a goldfish. Also, I'm pretty ambitious but I gotta admit to my laziness. Also also, I'm simultaneously am and not competitive. Honestly, I'm a walking contradiction (I'm literally confused with my own personality sometimes).

My bad qualities would be that I can be too idealistic and I'm also procrastinative. I can be impractical too. There are also times when I let my insecurities overtake my mind and during those times, I will become more distant. I'm also prone to taking things personally and is easily offended. When I'm offended, I'll become very sarcastic (I'll even act all petty if I'm too offended and honestly, it wasn't something that I'm proud of at all). I can be pessimistic too when things are rough and I tend to underestimate myself a lot. I'm also an overthinker and easily distracted. I can lose track of thoughts while I was speaking if I'm too excited about the topic because my brain will go all over the place and become scattered. ^^'

I love expressing myself through art! I'm still in the process of improving my skills for digital paintings tho. My hobbies include drawing, listening to classical music and lo-fi, daydreaming and reading. I'm also really interested in learning languages and psychology. Other than that, I find it fun to learn about other people's beliefs!

What I look for in a partner is someone who is confident, would take the time to really understand me for who I am and someone who is just as adventurous as me! I would love to explore new things and get ourselves lost in a huge city together or something ya know 😂 I thought that it would be so much fun and thrilling to figure things out together while learning new stuff. Other than that, I want them to accept me for who I truly am without any judgement. I'm more than open to making a few changes in my lifestyle in order to improve myself for them, but I really hope they'll be able to do the same thing for me ^^ I really appreciate it when someone's matured, respectful, open-minded and thoughtful. Okay so I decided to match you with Solomon!

Here is why: 

So you mention confidence is super important to you so that narrows down the circle to him and Diavolo. Solomon has no issues with being confident and spending time around him would probably boost your own confidence as well. 

Similar to you, Solomon is also someone who keeps quite a lot to himself and it really takes time to get to know him. Both of you being the same in this regard will probably slow things down a bit, but he is good at reading people I believe. (he is probably not on the same level as Satan but he is still really good at it) 

I think he can be quite a bit talkative, but again he does it in a way that you don’t acually get to know much about him, even when he talks a lot. This balances out the relationship well, as one of you is a bit more quiet when the other is more talkative. 

I have a feeling he would be the one to start conversations for a while. You declare yourself an unapproachable but thats ok! in his eyes that just makes you stand out more and he likes that! 

I think he would find it interesting that you are so quiet or only talk when you must, and he would probably ask you about it. like were you not feeling well? but when he learns that you are just more of an observer he would find it adorable. he kind of makes it his secret goal to make you more confident in social settings. however when its just the two of you, he is always eager to hear you out!  

I don’t think he would talk much about his worries or burdens to you even after you two open up more to each other. Definitely not major issues. But he always appreciates that you are there to listen to him in case he wants to talk about something!  Or if he does he does it rather slowly, like always telling only one part of an issue. I think he is rather independent.

Oh, he could tell you a lot about many different stuff to keep you from being bored, so no worries! like witchcraft, magic, and the like

Another reason why I picked him for you is that he is rather realistic, so he could balance out your tendencies to be idealistic. 

He is very quick to catch your changed behaviour and would notice you becoming more distant when your insecurities are taking over. But I don’t think it would make him insecure and question your relationship, like i definitely don’t see him sitting and thinking if you are about to break up or what. Instead he would make time for the two of to be private asap and he would directly ask about you acting differently and if you want to talk about it. 

Another reason why I think he is good for you is that generally he is not offensive? like some of the brothers can be, but I don’t think so it’s true for Solomon. So it’s a safe choice and there wouldn’t be any conflicts about that. 

In case someone else offends you I think he would curse them without you knowing 

Your hobbies are not exactly the same but in a healthy relationship that shouldn’t be an issue right? idk what part of of the human realm he is from but theres a chance he is not from the same country as you, and if that is the case the two of you could teach the other your mother language!

Well, Here We Are

It is time for the obligatory year in review piece, I know, try and contain your excitement. 

Well, here we are. The end of another calendar year. 2020 is drawing to a close and so like many, if not all, journalistic outlets I too will be doing my year in review. Do I count as a journalistic outlet I hear you ask? Yes. I’ve decided that I do. This is my column and I’m going to to pretend that I am a columnist here. And I can’t hear your eye rolls because I’m busy hiding behind my clicking keyboard. 

I’ve been thinking quite a bit about how I wanted to structure my year in review, for instance did I want to go through each category in a classic way and also would I also only speak about things that came out this year. The answer to both, is a no. Instead I am going to present to you my alternative awards for the year. There will still be runners up but the categories may be a little bit all over the place so if you were planning on counting on  a sure thing award winner that might be out the window now. That being said, shall we dive into perhaps the most chaotic awards show you’re going to experience this year. 

The album that I listened to literally on repeat for a week whilst I was working and as result now know ridiculously well. Perhaps too well - Winner: Pink Floyd ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ 

Right. So. Back in April one rainy Monday afternoon I put on ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ to listen to it through in its entirety for the first time. I had heard songs from it before and I was familiar with Pink Floyd’s music before this but this was what sent me down a spiral of their discography, so much so that Spotify have dubbed them my artist of the year based on playtime. Whilst I would not consider them to be my artist of the year, I can’t deny how deep I’ve gone into their library and in particular ‘Dark Side of the Moon’. I quite literally had it playing on repeat for the entirety of that week and now, now I simply don’t know if I ever truly existed before that album. Am I the album? Is the album me? I’m in too deep. 

The best representation of Seattle in a post apocalyptic video game - Winner: ‘The Last of Us Part Two’

Honestly, I know that this category makes it pretty clear that Last of Us was always going to win but that is because if it wasn’t on this list somewhere I think it might have indeed been a federal crime. This year I played both editions of Joel and Ellie’s story pretty much back to back and boy oh boy was that quite the ride. Part Two is a gruesome, grueling, revenge fueled ride that in all honesty is some of the best storytelling I have ever experienced. In any medium. It’s narrative is phenomenal, its game design is unparalleled, the voice acting and soundtrack are both out of this world and the way it looks is breathtaking. It is a game that continuously left me speechless and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since I put it down. The fact that Joel looks like my Dad did and wears the same clothes only partly adds to the emotions it makes me feel. Although I won’t pretend the bit where Joel is talking to Ellie didn’t hit me quite hard. But hey, thats the game’s point. Its a story designed to make you feel and oh boy does it achieve that. 

The football player who came out of nowhere to bring life back to my club - Winner: Bruno Fernandes 

It has been a lot ol’ time since I’ve seen a player that I instantly fell for. Bruno Fernandes arrived in Manchester with an already strong reputation but he has completely transformed a team and shows no sign of slowing down. His first twelve months have been unparalleled and the comparisons drawn with a certain other Portuguese player who was worn that red shirt are not only warranted but deserved. 

The band who I’ve been missing all my life: Winner - Niteflyte 

Quite frankly, this is a very hard award to give. There were quite a few front runners however, it has to be Niteflyte. I got introduced to Niteflyte via a podcast about the CIA’s involvement with the soundtrack of the Berlin wall coming down (’Wind Of Change’, listen to it now. Well after you’ve finished reading this piece that is). The podcast only played Niteflyte because one of the figures it was investigating used to manage the band. It was a thirty second sound bite if that and it stopped me in my tracks. I was walking in my old city at the time and I had to stop on the street and find the album the song was from and put it on straight away. I have previously written about Niteflyte and their self titled album on the blog so go back and read that for a more in depth look however, if you take one thing from this it might be that if I was going to give an artist of the year award, lets just say I think I know who it would go to. 

The best motion picture handling of a father that has passed away that I have seen. Ever - Winner: ‘Onward’ 

When I first heard what ‘Onward’ was about I was, hesitant. Any film where a parent particularly a father comes back to life always makes me filled with trepdiation and this was the case when I went to go and watch ‘Onward’ back in March (the last film I saw in the cinema before all of this). Instead, what I found was an incredibly moving and sensitive film about losing a parent that had at its end the best handling of a reunion between father and son that I have ever seen on the big screen. I have watched it a second time since and I still found it to be incredibly well done. ‘Onward’ might well be my film of the year because of it, I’m that impressed. It is also a great film in its own right but hey, I can’t deny why it sticks out in my head. 

The show that keeps on getting better and better: Winner - ‘The Mandalorian’ 

Sigh. Everytime I think that that ‘The Mandalorian’ couldn’t possibly get any better it goes and proves me wrong. This year started off with the finale of series one and it has ended with the conclusion of the second series. It is a masterpiece and for that I don’t want to ruin its ending here. Instead I will say that it does get better and better each week and for this life long die hard Star Wars fan, hell, it might be my favourite Star Wars property. And I know that won’t mean anything to you, but to me, that is saying something. 

Okay, so, I could keep going on and on with these awards however, its the festive period and I don’t want to keep you hanging around too much so instead I am going to include below some honourable mentions with a little sentence about each. 

‘Anxious People’ - If I was to give a book of the year award winner this would be it. In fact its one of my top ten books ever. Its perfection. Read it. Now. 

‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ - Released at the perfect time and all these months later it still captures my heart everytime I go on it. 

‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ soundtrack - Look. I don’t need to make my feelings about this album any clearer. We know I love it and I hope that you’ve listened to it by now and you do too. 

Diego Maradona - The greatest of all time. There’s nothing more to say. 

‘The Prestige’ - Oh boy. I had heard about this film a lot from the IGN UK podcast over the years and it did not disappoint at all. Especially who plays a certain Mr Tesla. That reveal blew me away. 

Joe Exotic - Watching ‘Tiger King’ really felt like event viewing and came along at the perfect time like Animal Crossing. Joe Exotic, I don’t know what to say but he has earned his place on this list thats for sure. 

‘I’ve Got My Second Wind’ - I heard this on one of the early days in January, maybe the second or third and I’ve been listening to it ever since. My song of the year. 

Philippe Auclair - Football journalist and singer. Auclair who features on the Guardian’s Football Weekly podcast regularly is an incredibly articulate speaker and is never afraid to hold the more questionable footballing authorities accountable. One of the writers and figures in football that I look up to the most. Oh and hes an excellent singer. What a man. 

Napoli FC - This was the year that I fell in love with Napoli. Theres no looking back now, I finally found my own team. 

‘Uncharted Four: A Thief’s End’ - The game that showed me, truly, how good games can be. I felt like it was a crime that this game is so perfect. It feels like the inside of my head and I never wanted it to end. 

My brother, James - Look. I know you’re reading this and you more than deserve your place on this list. I was going to give you a proper award but I couldn’t quite get the wording right. Anyway, the point is you’re on the list as you always will be. (And yes, you’re in the same section as Joe Exotic, quite the compliment I know)

Not to mention there are some discrepancies with my Link as well. namely his eye colour. his personality is BIT more jaded than canon. but then again, he is a character that is ( in theory ) YOU. so its how YOU play the game. 

SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  — i mean. idk im not really a sellout in general....?? he’s... extremely interesting in the fact that you have a tired man(tm) who’s just about done with the world at such a young age. he’s the hero of hyrule, and has done many feats. he has interesting stories to tell. and he’s not at all a boring person. he’s a bit quirky, has a fan-base, and overall, who WOULDN’T want to interact with link? i mean its LINK. after all... not to mention that he’s not really PREDICTABLE for the most part. I mean he is kind of but also not at all. I just??? i think a lot of people find him interesting? he’s also very attentive at times. you literally have to throw a rock and he will look your direction. 

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  — he is a selective mute. he WILL not talk. he will not approach you. you HAVE to approach him.... while he tends to be ‘OP’ he really isn’t. he’s still very much a human, and will react as such. its very hard to approach cause he has that ‘intimidating feel’ and lets not forget that he really does straight up ignore people if hey dont say anything to him. in that aspect it’s hard to interact with him. because its not like he ‘tunnel visions’ but he just wont pay attention to you if there is nothing to pay attention to. 

What inspired you to rp your muse?  — he’s been a muse for me since 2012. just always put on the backburner for a reason. but really? link was the ONE character that I could relate to. he was my go to guy. really. in high school, i struggled with friends and a lot of other things. but i pushed through. and honestly. link was ALWAYS a character that i turned to for that. it happened with Skyward Sword as well. when BOTW came out it was the same way. BOTW was my go to game in college because of link. so when i finally gt the wiiu version and started playing TP again, i was like. YEP im making him again. cause yes. the themes in TP are all themes that are right up my alley too. so of course i am going to find inspiration there. I ALSO found inspiration when i found some celtic music as well. I listen to msic when i write my replies. and when i was writing a reply on another blog. i found some celtic music and i just had THAT MOOD. 

What keeps your inspiration going? — the game. celtic music. honestly art. vines. anythign that reminds me of TP Link keeps me going. some of the interactions i have keep me going. the PLOTS i have keep me going.

Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO ( link is the ONE muse i never EVER lose confidence in. which is why he is such a strong character for me. link is me. straight up. and i think somebody asked me that too. he’s NOT a self insert but. i can relate SO much to him in so many ways. but i love the way i portray him cause he is very unique. i just hope that my confidence doesn’t SCARE duplicates and other people cause i would never want people to be intimidated by THIS fact that i am confident. )

Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. ( lol yea. honestly i love to write. though my style always changed and sometimes i worry about that. cause sometimes i have prose and sometimes i dont. but im an adaptable writer which i always loved about myself. )

Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. ( yea. both. i am both. im sensitive ooc but want to say shit about my portrayal. i don’t really care. say shit about me, and then i get upset and sad. )

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  — depends n the criticism. I say this all the time. theres constructive criticism. and then theres. just plain hate. I accept anything thats constructive. I want to know what i need to work on or what people would want to see. link is an ever-changing muse. i learn and grow and i will take anything thats told to me nicely without the hate.

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  — PLEASE. jsut send them my way i LOVE all the questions and character development. you dont even have to be a mutual for that.

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  — yes and no. i mean its my HC. you are allowed to disagree with my HC. hoenstly. thats the beauty of INTERPRETATIONS. i dont expect every TP link out there to agree with all of my HCs. so long as we can all be mature adults about it and talk normally with one another. we gucci. like we are allowed to have different HCs. and honestly. I would want to know because i would want to know what YOU think about the ‘canon.’ cause it’s different. i like those differences.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  — idk why they would? its link? its the protag. and in a way its supposed to be different for each person anyway??? its like taking Robin or Corrin from FE. like people are allwoed to disagree with the portrayal i GUESS? but i don’t understand why anybody would like stragiht up HATE the portrayal. its just different? idk. 

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  — see above tbh. but honestly. depends. do you hate him for the portrayal. or do you hate him cause of his character personality. like you’re allowed to interact with ‘bad’ characters. not that i think anybody would HATE link? but you know i could be wrong??? idk how to answer this cause what do you mean by hate? you can hate a character. but still interact with them??? idk how to compute this question???

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  — yes and no. honestly. i know i make mistakes. but i don’t want grammar nazi’s. i write to relax. the only time i would want people to tell me is if they were trying to figure out what i meant. does that make sense. like if they are confused on something. then its okay to tell me. otherwise if its something that is just a small mistake that you can ignore. then its no big deal. its also how you approach me too. like approach with caution. i am a delicate flower. so don’t attack me for making a mistake.

Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  i am VERY VERY easygoing!!! I want to say im VERY kind. i am very accepting and EXTREMELY FORGIVING. no joke. I want to be the kindest person out there. I dont want people to be intimidated by me. I don’t want people to be scared of hurt by me. hoenstly. I am a very nice person. I may have different opinions but i am VERY respectful to everybody even those i do not agree with. Nobody should ever feel weird about me like ever okay? please don’t. I never want bad blood. so if something ever happens between us. you are always ALWAYS more than welcome to come talk to me when emotions have fizzled out. This is part one of a brantley gilbert series im working on. Hope everyone enjoys it.

Is this the wrong thing to do? After everything that went down between me and Brantley, should I really be doing a meet and greet with him? The last time we were in a room together a lot of words were said and our relationship ended. I thought we were going to last forever. We were engaged, I was planning a wedding while Brantley was drinking himself into a early grave. As I pull up to the venue my hands start sweating and I seriously think about backing out, but he has sure come a long way and I just want him to know that I am proud of him.

45 minutes later

Its my turn next in the meet and greet. All of the fans stand behind a curtain until it is our turn. Security motions for me to head out to see Brantley. I take a deep breath and realize its now or never. I walk from around the curtain and Brantleys eyes go wide. "(Y/N), is that you?" I smile and nod, he opens his arms and grabs me. This feels so good, just like it used to. His strong arms is what made me feel safe. I sigh and start to tear up but then I pull away.

He smiles and eyes me up and down. "(Y/N), youre the last person I thought would walk around that curtain."

I place my hand on the side of his face and wish things were different. "I just wanted to come and tell you how proud I am of you."

"Well darlin, you couldve called." He says with a sigh. I cant believe Im standing here in front of him. Those blue eyes just peer into my soul. My heart skips a beat when I hear his songs on the radio. Sometimes I feel like some of them has been written just for me.

Security tells Brantley they need to wrap up the meet and greet. Brantley looks annoyed but he has a show to put on and many fans that he cant let down.

We get our picture taken and then he turns to me. He grabs my hands in his, "do you have a backstage pass?" I shake my head and say, "no just vip."

He called his manager over and whispered something in his ear. His manager produced a backstage pass. Brantley took it from him and handed it to me. "Here darlin, you can watch from backstage and then we can hang out afterwards."

I shook my head, "Brantley I cant accept this. I dont want you doing me favors."

He placed it around my neck. "Then this is a favor for me. Please I really want to talk to you after the show."

How could I say no to him. He really looked sincere and there is some things that I could get off my chest after the show. So I nod and he has the biggest smile on his face. "Thank you (Y/N). It really means alot to me."

"Youre welcome." I go to hug him and he surprises me by kissing me on my forehead. His manager leads me to Brantleys dressing room. "Make yourself at home honey."

"Thank you. Is it alright if I smoke in here?" I ask showing him my pack of cigarettes. He chuckles, "BG is like a chimney. Ash tray is on the table. Drinks and snacks are in the other room if you want anything. If you need anything else just holler."

I nod and light my cigarette as he walks out the door. Its really nice in here. A big leather couch is against one wall right across is a mirror with lights around it. A chair sits in front of it but Brantley doesnt seem the type to need makeup to go on stage. I put my cigarette out in the ash tray and sit back in the couch. It feels like a cloud. I look around trying to find something to occupy me, I flip through my phone. I snap a picture and send it to my best friend with a text saying 'guess i get to go backstage.'

He sends a text back saying 'be careful. Dont let him hurt you again.' I roll my eyes and shut my phone off. I get up and decide to go get something to drink. When I open the door Brantley is on the other side, I think he was giving hisself a pep talk before coming in. He looks worried, "youre not bolting already are you?"

I shake my head. "No, I was going to get something to drink." He sighs like he is glad that I wasnt leaving.

"You mind if I come with you?" He asks shyly.

"Of course not. This is all for you anyways."

We walk down the hall to the room that has the sign catering on the door. He holds the door open for me and as I enter his hand brushes mine. I feel the sparks way down deep and I know he does too.

After we enter the room I grab a water and he gets a plate of food and a tea. The room is quite crowded and noisy. He looks at me and asks, "wanna go back to the dressing room?" I shrug and mouth its up to you. He nods towards the door and I follow him. He pushes the door open and holds it for me.

When we get back to the dressing room he plops down on the couch and puts his feet up on the table. I sit down on the other end of the couch and he looks like he is affended. "What are you doing all the way down there darlin? I aint gonna bite ya."

I smile and scoot closer to him. I take a sip of my water and light another cigarette. I smoke alot when Im stressed or nervous.

"Wheres your food darlin?" He asks looking at my bottle of water.

"Oh, um." I look down at my hands. "Im not hungry."

He shakes his head, "no, I aint having it. Youre gonna eat. Here take my plate Ill go get some more."

Before I could say anything he placed his plate in my lap and was already out the door. I really wasnt hungry. My nerves were getting the best of me and my stomach was in knots.

Brantley came back in a few minutes later with two huge plates of food. I raised my eyebrows at him as he sat down. "You dont expect me to eat that do you Brantley?"

He shook his head, "no one plate for me and the desserts are for both of us."

I picked at my food as we talked about old times and before I knew it they were calling him for the show. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up from the couch.

"Come on (Y/N), you can watch from the side."

He opened strong and the crowd went wild. After a few upbeat songs he pulled out his acoustic and sat on a stool center stage.

"Welcome everybody yall are amazing."

The crowd cheered loudly as he took a sip of water. He looked over at me and winked causing a face splitting grin to appear on my face.

"I figured wed slow it down a bit for a while. These next few songs mean alot to me. I wrote them for someone special and maybe just maybe."

He looks over at me again.

"She just might hear them tonight."

He starts playing the best of me and glances at me every now and then. Then he starts you dont know her like I do. Then he finishes with you promised. He gets emotional during that song and he looks directly over to me when he sings the last line.

"No matter what you do, you know Ill always love you.

Hell I have to, cause I promised."

The tears streamed down my face. I knew he meant it and after all these years, deep in my heart. I knew I still l loved him. I never stopped, but thats what scares me. Hes changed yes but how could I forget the past?

He was still looking at me as I turned and walked back to the dressing room. I couldnt let him see me cry, so I sat in the dressing room and cried. I went to light my cigarette but couldnt find my lighter anywhere. Brantleys lighter was gone too.

My eyes went to his duffel bag and thought maybe he might have a spare lighter in there. I unzipped it and tried not to look to much at anything but I felt a lighter and as I pulled it out a paper came flying out too.

"Oh shit, I hope It didnt rip."

I picked it up, a picture fell to the floor. I bent to pick it up and saw it was the last picture me and Brantley had made together. That was the better days before everything went bad. I cant believe he has kept it all this time.

"Yall have been awesome tonight! I love yall see ya again soon."

I heard Brantley closing the show so I shoved the paper and picture back in his bag and zipped it quickly. I grabbed my cigarettes and ran to the exit.

The cool air hit my skin like a gift from heaven. I had to take a breather for a moment cause I didnt know what to say to him. Why has he kept that all this time? Why did it make me smile that he did? Because I love him but I cant tell him. Tonight was just to see him and go home.

I sit with my back against the building and lit my cigarette. I looked down at the lighter in my hand and was surprised to see it was the zippo I got him for his birthday one year. This man, does he keep everything.

The band starts coming out of the doors and start loading the bus with equipment and luggage. A few minutes later Brantley came struting out looking frustrated. He couldnt see me because I was sitting behind the door.

I heard him say to his manager, "why didnt you stop her! I need to go find her."

Before he climbed the steps on the bus I stood up and said "you looking for me?"

I could see the relief wash over him. He ran over to me and grabbed me up in a big hug. "I thought I lost you again baby girl."

I smiled and pulled away from him. "Im right here. I just needed some air." He grabbed me by the back of my head and pulled me in for a fierce kiss. It shocked me for a second then I was kissing him back. Our tounges exploring each other mouth. I nipped his lower lip and he growled in response.

I pulled away but he rested his forehead on mine. We were both panting and I managed to find the words. "Brantley, I....I cant do this."

"Come on the bus with me, we can talk cause theres some stuff I need to tell you."

"I dont think thats a good idea Brantley."

He sighs and those blue eyes pierce right into the depths of my soul and break down whatever barriers I had built to keep him out.

"Please, just to talk. I promise."

I nod, "okay, just to talk."

He smiles and grabs my hand. He leads me towards the bus and motions for me to go first. He doesnt speak to anyone but heads straight for his room. He closes the door behind him.

He sits down on the bed and pats the place next to him.

"You can sit baby doll, dont worry I wont do anything."

"I know, I trust you." I sit down next to him but for some reason the words that I have been wanting to say will not come out. Thank god he spoke first.

"Listen (Y/N), I know the last time we saw each other I was a complete mess."

"Complete mess is putting it lightly." I say

He sighs, "ok, I was a complete dick. I know I hurt you and I said things I didnt mean. I swear to you I have changed. I love you (Y/N) I always have, and if you give me a chance." He grabs my hand and I look into his eyes. "I promise you I will make up for everything baby."

I really do believe him but why is it so hard to just give myself to him. "You cheated on me Brantley. You told me you didnt want me anymore. I wanted to marry you and have a family with you. I saw all of that happening but it was all just one big lie."

"Baby look at me." He says as he places his fingers under my chin. My eyes meet his once again. "Im so sorry for everything. After all these years it still eats at me what I done to you. I was fucked up at the time. The booze and pills had me all kinds of fucked up but it didnt mean I didnt want you. I honestly cant tell you why I said that but I can tell you I didnt mean it." I start crying and try to look away but he wouldnt let me.

"You were the best thing that ever happened to me and I was to stupid to realize it. I shouldve treated you better when I had you but for some reason I thought you would always be there. When I sobered up and realized you was really gone I went crazy. I went everywhere and anywhere that I thought you would be. I cried every night and every day I felt like my heart was just gone."

I wiped my eyes and whispered, "Im so sorry Brantley."

"No, no baby, Im the one whos sorry. I dont blame you for leaving me. Hell nobody did. Mama jumped my case everyday for a month about it."

I sniffed, "I found the picture of us in your duffel bag."

"You did?"

I nodded, "I wasnt being nosey I promise. I lost my lighter and couldnt find it or yours so I thought maybe you had a extra one. I didnt look at anything or at the piece of paper the picture fell out of."

He sighed and it looked like he was glad I didnt read it. "I kept that picture because thats all I had of you. Every night before a show looking at it would give me the boost I needed to have a damn good show. When I sleep, I put it under my pillow. I know its stupid but I have to have you with me or I cant survive."

I smile and before I knew it I was kissing him. He kissed me back at first then he gently pushed me away. "Woah baby, you said you only wanted to talk."

I straddled him and pushed his hat from his head. "I know what I said." I kissed his cheeks then his eyes then his lips. "Listen to what my heart is saying now."

His hands were on my sides sliding up and down, his thumbs were under my shirt. He was tracing lazy circles with them. He leaned forward and kisses my collarbone then my neck. "You sure baby." I nodded.

I pulled his shirt up and over his head. He did the same to me. I was wearing a black lace bra, he growled as he kissed the tops of my breast where the lace touched skin.

"God damn baby, I have been missing and wanting this all these years. Im afraid its a dream."

I smiled as I kissed up his neck up to his ear. I whispered "trust me honey, I dont think your dreams can make you feel as good as Im gonna in just a few minutes."

"Holy fuck." He said as he pulled away and took my lips in a searing kiss. He unclasped my bra with one hand. My hand skated down his chest and stomach and came to rest on his belt buckle.

"Make love to me Brantley."

He smiled, "oh baby, with pleasure."

Okay so I need to get this off my chest because I realised something last night and I have been overthinking myself into panic attacks ever since.

So, I’m 25 and have no experience in relationships, I go back on forth on being terrified and wanting to try dating. It’s not like I’m not interested in the male species because there’s definitely an attraction there, but theres just also a whole lot of self-doubt and bullshit in my own way. But I do think about it and have my whole post puberty life.

I have always found the idea of ‘types’ kind of ridiculous, like having a list of the exact person that you’re looking for. It is reductive and shallow and I don’t think it’s helpful to make your way around the world looking for someone to fit into such a specific mould that you ignore negative behaviour or turn away good people. Plus, I am such an emotional and intense person that there are so many little and specific things that I find attractive in people, I couldn’t possibly have a list that long of things that a person needs to fulfil for me to love them. It’s scientifically impossible, right? 

In saying that, I have known that I find males very attractive since maybe ago 5? So over my life, like all people you build up things that make you feel giddy and tingly and smiley and you just generally appreciate in another human. So, to be totally shallow and make that list, of the person in the idealist of ideal worlds and fully surrendering to the fact that it makes me the most basic bitch alive - Fuck it man. Here is my list of my perfect partner.

- Tall - something evolutionary here I think.

- Irish or Scottish - something so visceral to my person has the most intense feelings to these accents. 

- Green/Blue/Hazel eyes - basic, I know.

- Bit of a nerd. Intelligence with passion not pretension is the greatest possible attribute a person can have.

- Good sense of humour, doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Good smile and laugh goes with this too.

- Caring, kind and compassionate - doesn’t discriminate in this. Cares for those everywhere. Racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism and just general asshole or apathetic to others lives and suffering is my number 1 deal breaker. Someone who is aware of the world and who is genuinely caring. Just a good dude.

- Loves dogs. Again probably a deal breaker.

- Feminist values - and outspoken about it. Although they can set their ego aside to make room for women in public spaces.

- Politically minded and vocal about the things they care about.

- Long hair. Especially curls. Drives me insane on pretty much any human.

- Loves the cold. Men in jumpers, jackets and scarves are my incredibly specific favourite thing in the whole world.

- Nice brows - bonus if they have nice lashes.

- Nice hands

- Loves music. Especially if we have a lot of tastes in common. Overall, just having a passion for music is such a bonus. Another massive bonus but would never be a must is musical and vocal talent - it’s just hot let’s be honest.

- Good to their Mama.

- Would be good and kind to me. When you have a physical disability and anxiety - this is pretty important. I’ve had friends that have this is spades. Helpful, kind and make me feel comfortable around them and good about myself. It’s one of those things that I recognise in good people often. And it makes me gun shy to date because that is something I’ve seen in people but would have to be on a different level in a partner.

So, that’s it. Thats probably the most extensive and specific list I could write. When I meet people, if I’ve ever gotten a vibe or felt something, obviously I would never expect someone to fill all elements. Humans don’t generally work like that. 

THEN IN WALKS THE BIGGEST FUCKING BABE I’VE EVER SEEN.

So, I’ve listened to and loved his first album pretty casually the last few years but didn’t know a whole lot about him. I love my music probably more than anything on the planet, it is the greatest thing we have on this God forsaken hole. I take it quite seriously. So I’m fucking around on Spotify 3-4 weeks ago, finding new songs I love as you do. Then Hozier comes on, I think to myself, “Oh I haven’t listened to him in a while. Been meaning to check out that new album. I do like his voice quite a bit.’ So, naturally I turn to the internet and start the old stalking ritual when you find something new that makes you feel something. Next thing I know, I’m falling in love - I had no idea I had been missing out on this human for YEARS. 

Then last night I fully realise why I’m feeling something so intense. HE LITERALLY CHECKS EVERY WONDERFUL THING ABOUT HUMANS I COULD LOVE. Every. Single. One. Like, I’ve heard him pronounce my last name - so many people mispronounce it but he didn’t. And my name is Molly - Nobody?

Even a few little things that are so specific I couldn’t even make it up. Like is this an alternative universe? Am I dreaming? Am I dead? Maybe. Just maybe. I might just be insane. Probable.

- I have a strong personal connection to the name Andrew. My uncle’s name was Andrew and he passed away when I was a little girl so I never got to know him. But he was my mother’s brother and best friend so has always been present in my everyday life. It is a deep pain I feel because I know we would’ve been really close. Even though I don’t remember him I know that I love him a lot and his memory and how I live my life is affected by who he was. I’ve always had thoughts and imaginations of someone special with that name being in my life.

- I feel an intense attachment to Ireland. Most of my family is from there and it’s number one on my bucket list.

- I was always an English nerd at school. I took all English, Literature and writing/language subjects at school because I just love words, writing and poetry so much. I love the way people can use so few perfectly chosen words to convey emotion so beautifully.

- The Blues Brother is in my top 3 favourite movies of all time. My brother and I used to watch it all the time as kids because it was something we both loved. He loved the humour and car chases - I loved the music most. So much so, that Elwood is on my list of names if I have children - I saw an interview the other day and that’s his dogs name? What the fuck man, honestly. 

I fully understand that no one will read this. I know this is the incredibly weird, probably too personal, and outlandish rant of an insane woman. But in summary, I just love that an incredible man like Andrew Hozier-Byrne exists. I am so grateful for the stunning music he has created, the intellectual and political stimulation I have had from watching him speak. I am so grateful that someone is out there fighting for what they believe in so gracefully and giving me serious faith in humanity. I have felt less depressed, less anxious and overly more productive lately - I think that it could be connected.

advice for high school:

put yourself out there. i know high school is big and scary, but it's new. you're going to know people who you've seen all your life and people who you have never met before, probably. don't be afraid. sit next to someone new in chemistry and... bond. ask to squeeze in a lunch spot. smile at your teachers, say hello. join clubs. it's 2-4 years of your life, so find your people.

stop thinking about the numbers. this is one of the hardest things when you're surrounded by a pressured environment from all sides - teachers, students, parents. but let me tell you that you have to learn when to care and when to not. which times to fight and which times to let go. you might get your first 35 on a test. you might be ranked far behind your other classmates. not every homework has to be done well, just done at all. not every grade has to be an A, because in the end higher academic institutions care less than you think and not every "bad" grade is the end of the world. and if you don't do so hot on something, feel a little bad and then keep going. no use in dwelling, just do better next time. (sometimes just give up. don't do an assignment. take the 0. sometimes you need the time, or the break, and it's not worth doing.)

freedom. high school is the first taste of bigger opportunities in learning. choose classes you might have an interest in over what will boost your gpa or whatever. take art, take music, something creative, even if you are a stem student through and through, you don't have to do well but this will enrich your life and give your brain something different that isn't numbers or grammar or whatever. and creativity fosters community.

communicate with your teachers. some teachers accept nothing late ever period. some teachers procrastinate. actually a lot of teachers procrastinate they're really just like you. whatever the case talk to them. if you're having trouble understanding high school teachers often have some form of out of class tutoring/tutorials before, after, and even during school (such as at lunch). if you are sick, if you want them to look over a paper, if you need an extra day to finish your project and make it good, talk to your teachers. they want you to succeed. they cannot always be lenient for personal or academic reasons, but they will understand. and them knowing is better than them not.

get sleep. i mean it. 6 hours at least. 7 is good. 8+ is best. if you can't, at least sleep for some amount of time even if it's 30 minutes. if you can't sleep, still lie down for a bit in the dark and let your body rest even if your mind won't shut off. you will thank yourself in the morning.

do your damn homework. just do it. there's a lot, some of it is useless, but a lot of it is not. homework is meant to help you retain the info that you learned in class, or even learn more info that you will not cover in class.

on top of #6, read the textbook and listen in class. sometimes it's boring. just do it. you don't have to take notes but they definitely help, and notes never have to be pretty they just have to be legible to you. it can be bullet points. it can be diagrams. it can be a treasure map of weird associations. draw angry faces next to notes about dead historical figures. whatever works for you.

teachers are resources. ask if you can record lectures. see if they have a google classroom or someplace online where they post notes and powerpoints. ask for websites and further reading. ask for HELP.

study a lot, have fun a lot. i know every day is limited and you're going to be tired all the time. i know. i was there. ib was working us to the bone from the moment we went in to the very last exam. but on the weekends and after school, every now and then do something with your friends that isn't going through your math homework together. see a movie. get coffee, or boba, or tea, or whatever the hell y'all drink these days. go to a museum. find free activities. swim. talk to your friends outside of an academic environment and you will be closer and dearer. and you will not regret it.

you're allowed to disagree with your authority figures. so parents/guardians/teachers. don't overstep your boundaries but as you learn and grow there will be times that they are wrong and you are right. in many different situations... but most especially about you yourself, a person.

reach out. talk to someone when you're hurt. theres going to be a lot of new experiences in high school and some of them will be bad. please talk to your friends. your parents if you can. talk to a teacher you trust. sometimes school counselors suck but part of the job, regardless of if they are doing well or not, is listening to you, and it's meant to be confidential. and if you're worried about someone else for gods sake talk to an adult.

you are still a kid. please don't stress too much about matters that are bigger than you and things that are too much for you to control. you are almost an adult but you are not, you are grown up but you are not. do kid things. you don't need to be super strong, or super mature, or act ten years older than you are. you don't need to prove anything.

pursue your interests, and good things will follow. i mean this in every sense. your health. your mind. your attitude. your college applications. (seriously, everyone has done the volunteer hours and everyone has the grades and everyone has what you have. show that you're human.)

be awkward. be weird. there are so many different kinds of people but someone will be like you, and someone will like you. be happy, and others will see it.

don't put your burdens unnecessarily on other people. or yourself. here's the truth: if all you talk about is how bad you are, how you aren't getting anywhere in life, how the numbers aren't good enough, then no one will stick around for long. you will surround yourself in something bad that people don't want to be around. like mentioned, talk to someone. friends are the most comfortable but not always the most appropriate. im not saying to keep your thoughts to yourself, but adults > other emotional, struggling, hormonal teenagers in terms of being equipped to handle tough situations. people want to help! but when all you talk about is yourself and your trouble, and not listen to other people, talk about things that make you happy... you're going to lose something.

college is a big deal but also not. please don't worry about it until junior and senior year.

failure is inevitable. take it.

surround yourself with people who are better than you, and who you like, and who like you. surround yourself with people who you aspire to be similar to. you will do better and you will want to do better.

keep organized. good god. please do not be like that one guy in my math class. one day my classmate and i got so fed up we cleaned out his backpack for him and shoved things into folders and begged him to stay organized. folders. binders. accordian folders. just use something im pleading you. it's going to be 2 minutes before class and you realize you can't find your homework or turn in a wrinkled, stained paper. also keep some sort of schedule and task list or else you will be that guy that goes "wait we have a TEST today?"

halo effect. first impressions are important, even if you can overcome bad ones. show up on time. sit in the front even though it's scary, because midyear you'll realize you have been doing badly because you sat in the back and can't see or hear over the two girls who gossip in front of you. smile. say hello. ask questions. raise your hand. you can be wrong. you can be wrong. you can ask stupid questions.

ask your teachers if you can eat in class. my 4th period teacher (after lunch) was fine with us eating, so id take lunch to study sometimes and eat then. i always ate breakfast during 1st period bc when i got up it was too early for my body to take more than a little. most teachers are okay as long as the smell isn't strong and lasting, and you clean up. have a snack so you don't crash. don't forget to eat either. please eat lunch, and some teachers will give you snacks if you ask, and if you don't have money please just... ask someone for a share or to borrow some cash. it's okay. you need to eat.

there is so much more. school might be all you know. but stop and enjoy life. if you worry about college you're going to spend 4 years looking forward and not enough at the present, and you're going to lose your precious time. there is so much more.

you're going to change. a lot. you will be a completely different person. that's normal. you're gonna be a little embarrassed. like the person you become, and become a person you like. make good choices. be kind. have heart.

enjoy high school, kid. good luck!!! it was honestly a rewarding and wonderful time, and that was in part bc i made it so.

LeafyIsHere Fanfiction - Fight With Your Friend

Recently, you had become quite close with a particular YouTuber. You were currently attending a university out of state from him, but you saw nothing wrong with just talking with someone. After all, you were looking for someone that would listen to you and enjoy hearing about your day, and were willing to listen to him as well. It had become an everyday thing over a few months that you two would talk and over time you had also started to develop a strong friendship, at the least. Although, him always asking about your day and checking in with you to make sure you were having a good day was definitely growing on you.

Some of your friends were highly supportive of your new adventure, but others not so much. In fact, there were a few in particular that were giving you quite the hard time with even talking with Calvin. They claimed that he probably wasn’t even real or that someone was faking you out. It didn’t matter how many videos the two of you would trade or even if he was staring right back at your friends, they still wouldn’t take your word that it was a legitimate thing.

Calvin and you had grown to not only talking with one another, but also being a bit flirtatious. It was always a pleasant conversation and talking with him always put you in a good mood. The two of you were talking, as you do normally, when you suddenly received a message from your friend asking what was going on.

Having a normal conversation, it starts going downhill when you make a smart comment saying, “Yeah, it was funny because he was joking about me transferring to a University in Seattle.” Completely changing the topic, your friend starts going down a new tangent about Calvin by asking, “Oh, isn’t that where that guy lives? What’s his name again?” Laughing to yourself, as you know damn well that he knew Calvin’s name, you simply reply saying, “His name is Calvin and I wouldn’t transfer there with how many credits I have.” 

Your phone buzzes as you read, “I don’t know about this guy, Y/N…” Quickly you respond, “We’re just talking.. it’s not like I’m head over heals for him..” Trying to change the conversation, you state, “Besides, I’m excited for this year’s season and I have to stay on track for graduation.” Completely ignoring your last bit, he says, “You obviously value his opinion a bit so it’s probably better to change the conversation before I say something.”

Getting a different notification, you notice it is from Calvin and read it to say, “Hey, I just finished my video, how was work and class?” Smiling, you close the other message to reply saying, “Day is going alright, what did you make your video on this time?” You reopen your friend’s message and reply confidently, “If you have something to say, then you should just say it.” A message pops up form your friend that reads, “There’s only so close you can get with someone online. There’s never going to be that level of trust you only get by being face to face with someone. You haven’t even met this guy.” 

Eyebrows in a furrow, you ask, “Do you honestly think I trust him as much as I trust you, someone that I’ve known for multiple years?” You are a bit confused at this point. Sure, you were enjoying chatting with Calvin but it had only been a handful of months. You had been friends with his other guy for a few years, surely he wouldn’t think…”Yeah, I do” your friend responds.

A longer message about Calvin’s video popped up and you open it to read it but quickly return to your friend’s message. Immediately, you reply, “That’s fucked. Of course I’m going to trust you more than him.” A few minutes later, and several messages between you and your friend, Calvin sends another message asking, “busy?” You reply back explaining that you were in an argument with one of your friends, or someone you considered a good friend. 

A set of messages spew back and forth between you and your friend. One fiery message after another and you getting more and more frustrated as the conversation goes. Calvin starts to notice your short messages and low tolerance for a simple joke he tries making. Normally, you are full of laughter to his jokes and now you won’t even laugh at one of them. 

“Hey, are you okay? Maybe that conversation isn’t the best one to be in..” Calvin sends. Reading it, you sign and type back, “I’m sorry. I don’t really mean to be so rude or depressing. I’m just getting really frustrated in this conversation and it’s definitely affecting how I’m responding to you. I’m just honestly ready to cry at this conversation.” Completely unaware that the conversation actually is the result of bringing up your dear Calvin, he replies saying, “Y/N, just leave the conversation. It’s not worth you being upset. If he was your friend, he wouldn’t be making you feel that way. Just talk with me instead.”

Now stuck between Calvin and your supposed friend, you are a bit torn. On one end, you want him to understand that Calvin has been there when your friend hasn’t. Not to mention, you want your friend to understand how much you value your friendship with him. But, it’s clearly taking a toll on how you’re talking with others and your happiness. 

Ever since you started talking with Calvin and made some new friends at your school, your friend has been trying to monopolize more and more of your time with other people. He says erratic things like you trusting too many people and how he doesn’t know if he can even trust you as the result of you expressing your feelings to these people. It’s almost as if your friend treats you like you’re in a relationship with him, even though you’re not.

Groaning loudly, you throw your phone down on your bed and cover your eyes with your hands. A few tears have already been shed, but you don’t know how much more you can take, or Calvin for that matter. The poor guy has been up the last few hours with you during the conversation and now it’s got quite late where you are and where he is. You decide to reply in short answers, as to not seem rude by blatantly leaving the conversation with your friend. He seems to take the bait and ends the conversation in belief that an understanding and realization has been reached. You sigh in relief that he has bought your lies and move back to your conversation with Calvin.

Logging into your Skype, per his request, you are shocked to see that he is clearly focused on you in the chat window. Smiling slightly when you see him, he says, “C’mon, I know you can do better than that.” Cracking a bigger smile, you look away and say a simple, “Hey… sorry about the whole conversation.. a bit of a buzzkill..” He speaks up again and asks, “Will you watch my latest video so I can see your reaction? I sent it in the chat before I post it.” 

Smiling brightly, you quickly pull up the video, but leave the Skype window open so you can see Calvin at the same time. He is clearly focused on you as your chest erupts into a fit of giggles at some of his jokes. His face immediately brightens up and a smile stretches across his face. “See, I knew I could get you to smile before bed.” Chuckling and shaking your head, you say, “Of course you can, you know I like just about all your jokes.” Finishing the video, you spend the rest of the night until long into the morning talking. He makes you smile with a plethora of cute jokes the rest of the night. You can’t help but think, ‘I don’t care if we ever meet. It’s moments like these that make me happy and that’s all that should matter.’

As you talk with Calvin, you both are doing a couple different activities. Mostly, you laying in bed and him playing a game on his PC while you two talk. Smiling to yourself, you drift off to sleep on Skype, but not before hearing a quick, “Awh are you asleep? Goodnight, Y/N, talk with you tomorrow.” You find yourself counting down the hours till he can make you smile again.

hc's for the paladins after finding their s/o passed out from training too hard?

SHIRO

he’s levelheaded most of the time and thank god for that

because everyone else on this list is a freak

yes, he worries 

LIKE A LOT

they told him they felt weak compared to everyone else and defenseless. everyone had their own source of protection, but they were just sorta of dwindling around not knowing what they would do in case of an emergency

theres also fact that their boyfriend was literally the leader of the paladins and all-around better at combat then they were

they admired him a lot so they desperately wanted to be at least somewhat closer to his level

ALSO THEY DIDNT WANT TO BURDEN HIM 

so they took it upon themselves to train 

this lead to their obsession to be self-reliant and now here they are currently

laying in bed, sore as all hell and shiro scolding them ( very gently lmao ) about taking proper care of themselves

it actually irritates them

they get mad and yell at him

a few minutes of silence

and then they apologize because they didn’t mean to blow up they just feel so weak and useless

he smiles and tells them that they can train together and its okay to rely on protection every once in awhile

awwwhhhhhh …… they hug ……………

KEITH

bin ch  you know hes gonna get so mad about this

hes worried but i mean …… he cant express that without anger coming through 

he first gets them to their room and tends to whatever cuts and bruises they have also giving them some water and a snack he had hunk prepare

then he Goes Off

its not like screaming but they can tell hes mad because his voice raises and hes like gesturing wildly and glaring at them

obviously this instigates a fight unlike what happened with shiro. his s/o starts yelling back at him probably raising their voice higher 

most likely starts crying out of frustration

they just wanted to be strong enough for him

hes been so reckless and he’s always been the one keeping them safe. they want to do the same for him. they don’t want to lose him.

they were just scared and they wanted to be strong

he’s quiet and he listens and his glare softened into a look of distress and concern

he tells them they can be strong but they shouldn’t be training themselves until they pass out he just wants them to look after their own well-being

he grabs their hand and smiles and they cant help but to blush and smile back ( WHILE ALSO AVOIDING EYE CONTACT THEN THAT MAKES KEITH EMBARRASSED AND HE AVOIDS EYE CONTACT TOO FUCKIN DWEEB )

LANCE

he’s a Wild Man

yeah, hes felt completely in adequate more times than he can count and he constantly feels like he might be below everyone else in terms of skill

i mean, he was only bumped up to fighter pilot because keith was kicked to the curb

but he doesnt want them to feel like that

so when he finds them on he ground, completely knocked out and dehydrated, he knows very well what happened

the conversation is sorta awkward once they wake up

he’s asking them questions on if they’ve been eating and if they’ve had any water to drink or if they’re sleeping right

they just reply with short, curt answers ( clearly too embarrassed to actually talk at the moment )

he starts getting frustrated and ends up going off but its ??????? not irritating ????????? just the way he does it makes them feel guilty for making him worried instead of mad because they think he’s telling them what to do

the concern he shows comes off less angry and more just exasperated because he wants to understand why they started feeling so down about themselves

so they tell him all their worries about not being brave, not being strong, not being reliable or lacking certain skills

he just throws himself on them and hugs them so tightly before they can even finish

yeah, he gets it but he’s encouraged by everyone around him and he wants them to feel encouraged too

HUNK

he’s immediately panicking, but he’s also quick to react.

he takes them to their room and when they wake up he’s not really prying he’s just like “hey you hungry it’s almost dinner”

of course they are they fuckin love his cooking its always made with a special kind of love

although talking about their worries is always a good idea, they feel comforted by the fact that he’s not trying to make them talk. he’s letting them decide when they’re ready

it probably doesn’t take too long maybe the next day theyre telling him everything that was on their mind. they can’t really go out training since he’s sort of banned them from it for awhile and he’s been so thoughtful to their feelings they feel like maybe they should just tell him

he’s hugging them and patting their head and making little jokes about it just so they smile

he tells them not to worry because he knows they can do great things and being a paladin isn’t that cool anyways ( hes lying and they know he’s lying but its the thought that counts )

“you already got so many amazing qualities about yourself that will make you an awesome part of our team. we’re together. i’m always going to worry about you. that doesn’t mean you’re weak.”

they spend the day together just looking through weird books around the castle that they cant at all figure out how to read

or plotting pranks on the other paladins

keith is the best target because its easy to get a reaction from him. well, an angry one. 

lance is also a really good one. they love hiding when he’s on a hunt to find out who pulled that prank on him

PIDGE

she’s kind of a mix of lance and hunk with this.

she won’t force them to say whats up but they can tell she’s under a huge amount of stress about it

pidge takes the time out of her day to check up on them from then on and checks constantly if they’re taking care of themselves

she’s like a hawk its sort of fuckin weird ………….

this progresses into a weird sort of stalking? not like creepy but her s/o gets this chill when they feel her watching them

this turns into a stupid game of “im going to hide from you because im tired of you constantly watching me please stop we arent in a horror movie”

when pidge is confronted on this she’s just …….

jokes aside when they finally do talk about it its like awkwardly emotional because i dont think either of them really like talking about feelings so seriously

theyre both so use to cracking jokes 

pidge just smiles kinda sadly at them and tells them that it’s okay and they’ll never be a burden to her or anyone else on the team

she’s not really good with combat unless she’s in her lion either, but she can understand the need for them to be
