yall are about to piss me off by not having any PASSING basic knowledge of the way the u.s. military manipulates its recruits into joining by typing up one of your uninformed, unresearched, unempathetic, individualistic, unbelievably annoying posts about how 100% of the people in the military ended up there because they just Love America So Damn Much! they're extremely mature and informed at time of recruitment, they can totally leave anytime they want, they totally had tons of other avenues in life they could've taken, there was no rush at all to get income as fast as possible, and everyone in the military also totally is part of the combat divisions and personally enjoys being IN the military very much, big believers of violence. everyone in the military is shooting guns all day, that's how that works. they LOVE BLOODSHED. also I love the "amewicans haha" twang to this type of shit because you're actually TOTALLY stealing our Thing, which is turning systemic issues into Individual Issues. Instead of talking about the powers that be, it's so Personal Choice up in here. It's, "well you shouldn't have done it then. I totally wouldn't because I know better." you don't wanna talk about the military industrial complex as a whole, and you don't want to talk about recruiters, you just want to pin the blame on Specific Individual People one-by-one, as if they're responsible for the system that they're being ground up in. someone was in the military? bad person, no matter what. it's easier to believe that, I guess, than to acknowledge that Normal People (with high school educations) are manipulated and incentivized into joining a system that is Bad. at like age 18. but yeah no that 18 year old should have just been smarter lol haha anyway here are some screenshots for no particular reason

side note this reply of someone going "umm just get loans and go into a high paying field it's easy XD" as a direct response to someone trying to explain how most americans joining the military are being funneled in that direction out of a need for money.

and another person who Decided that americans join the military just CLENCHING their teeth thinking of other people, and not thinking completely selfishly about their own selves and their own income/housing/healthcare.

No, but I've been thinking a LOT when it comes to the world building and answering the "how in the fck would Rita and Himeno have a child if we don't know what Rita's bio gender is?" question from episode 36.

Incubators.

From the information I've gathered from (re)watching the season, something that has been pretty well shown without making a huge fuss about it was how open the world of Chikyuu is when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community. Not only has Rita's lack of disclosing their gender to anyone has been accepted, but also the fact that people of all genders were competing for Himeno's hand in marriage in Episode 36 if you look at the crowd gathered. And Episode 36 also made me believe that Chikyuu does, in fact, believe in self-affirming care.

And in terms of technology in medicine, Ishabana seems to be able to accomplish a lot including being able to create an antidote for a space poison as well as N'kosopa being able to create artificial organs even if they're at testing stages.

So basically the idea is that Ishabana does provide healthcare and family options for different types of relationships. So same-sex and genderqueer relationships can have the option of having and raising a child if adoption is not an option.

Now for the incubators, it's more or less a choice that isn't common but still an option available. Not everyone is able to safely have a child and not everyone wants to put the pressure on a surrogate. So an option with Chikyuu's technology would be incubators.

I'm not gonna go into full details bc it's mainly just toku shenanigans, but I'd like to think that's a viable option.

TL;DR Ishabana is literally just peak healthcare.

why does every article reporting on idf war crimes go "hamas, who started the war on october 7th with their brutal terrorist attack slaughtering innocent israeli civilians, has condemned the idf's use of-"? like, nearly verbatim every single time. we know about october 7th. we know by now. half the time, hamas isnt even relevant but they gotta find some way to sow doubt and numb any potential compassion responses. will you get fired if you show sympathy for murdered palestinian civilians without first adding a disclaimer saying its all their fault for being born in gaza? if you call "palestinians under 18" children? if you use the words "murdered" or "brutal" or "massacre" for acts that didnt occur on october 7th? if you call a spade a spade? why are israeli reports front page news without proper fact-checking but palestinian reporting is always "allegedly" even when theres video evidence? why does the idf not get the hamas treatment of reminding everyone that theyre biased before treating their words as law, like they havent been caught bold-faced lying again and again?

I’ve literally done everything I can to find a different dermatologist who isn’t my current malpractice and fraud asshole dr, and nothing has worked. No one outside of my insurance coverage is taking new patients, and I can’t afford them anyway. (Also not actually allowed to do that and keep my shitty state insurance) Or you have to be a part of some medical system I’ve never even heard of. Or they’re dead. And no, you can’t switch to a different dermatologist in the same office and, no, we won’t tell you why not. Oh, and literally no one outside of dermatology ‘feels comfortable’ continuing/picking up the script for that med because UwU.

So that’s it. My cut off date for the immunosuppressant that keeps my autoimmune disease barely manageable is July. Because I refuse to drive five fucking hours to be treated like shit by the person who is the sole reason I got denied disability for an incurable disease that literally eats gigantic fucking holes out of my body. Who lied. Who laughed at me when I said I can’t fucking shower without breaking out in wounds.

So, that’s it. July. And I start rotting away again. That seems fair and normal.

Well, let’s see…

I know this isn’t a popular AU of mine, but I really love the Imprisoning War AU (and, consequently, Golden Mercy as well) with my whole heart. Also it has invaded my brain so freaking much I might actually explode LOL. Idk, my mental health and life in general have been not as optimal as I would like, and this AU has been my outlet for that, which is why it’s far more hurt and less comfort than most people like. But I relate to the characters in different ways (people pleaser Link my beloved haha dude I get trying to make everything work for everyone and trying to say yes to everyone and burning yourself out; forever alone and somehow the most rational one Hemisi I feel you girl; everyone relying on you and you have to do it because when you don’t the world falls apart Zelda keep up the good fight girl), I like exploring what happens when you really push the “Zelink has to happen every time, even at the expense of other relationships” agenda that sometimes is tossed around (no hate to Zelink or its shippers, I enjoy some Zelink ships and I know many Zelink shippers who are wonderful. I just hate the idea of forcing them together all the time when there are other relationships that are clearly there lol, I’m salty about how Hyrule Warriors handled it but it was fan service so whatevs. ANYWAY. It creates great drama), and I like showing a realistic depiction of the absolute, if you’ll pardon the expression, shit show that would be left behind in the wake of such a disastrous war that Ganondorf created. It also sets up Ganondorf’s expectations, worries, and views really well for Golden Mercy, and I’m pretty excited to write a Hyrule Warriors long fic and try to redeem that giant jerk while still making it realistic and recognizing he’s a complicated guy. :) They’re all complicated, and I love characters so it’s just so much fun for me. Also, making anybody turn into a good Dad is obviously a passion of mine LOL. I’ll shut up now, but I really love this AU. ❤️ (technically I lumped two stories together for this but they’re all part of the same AU so… there lol)

Blood of the Hero is probably my current favorite long fic that I’m actively updating. The LoZ fandom is sorely lacking good parental figures (and I understand part of that is because Link just doesn’t have parents in his games and partly because people are projecting and that’s understandable), so I wanted to fix it dang it. LET LINK HAVE PARENTS WHO LOVE HIM. BOTW TALKED ABOUT HIS FAMILY. Anyway, I also love letting adults actually have a role in saving the world instead of always leaving it to the poor overwhelmed kids LOL, making them middle aged parents is an absolute bonus. And Abel being constantly tired and burnt out and done with the world speaks to my soul, and Tilieth being the one to hold on to hope despite everything and still have sensitivity and femininity to her while still being a strong character also speaks to my soul. I love them both, and I love showing how determined they are to protect their kids, as any good parent should be. They’re heavily inspired by my own parents, as well as myself, and what I would interpret Link’s parents to be like based on his upbringing and personality, so it was really fun creating their personalities. :)

I have so many Sky-centric stories that I love, but I think my favorite is probably Paradox, I had such a fun experience writing it and loved the idea of giving Fierce Deity an origin story while creating a sense of urgency and confusion and mystery and wrapping it all in a sickfic. :) I cranked that sucker out in thirty minutes and I still think it’s one of my best one shots.

I can only take partial credit for this since @nancyheart11 came up with the original premise, and because @smilesrobotlover has contributed so much as well, but I do love Dad Squad with all my heart. They’re such idiots, I adore them and their quest to save their sons who already technically saved themselves because they’re heroes. Also, the latest development in my brain of including TotK Ganondorf as the main villain from Hero of Shadow seems appropriate in making the big baddie a Bad Dad in a Dad Squad story LOL. Having Majora’s Mask in the hands of Kohga gives me life, though, and I will forever be grateful to Nancy for coming up with that premise HA. I haven’t written much for it lately, but I do love it so much. Also props to her for publishing it on AO3, I could never LOL, I’ll just throw random things on tumblr hahaha. Also, just all the fun we’re all having - the fact that multiple people have written/drawn for this AU makes it all the more precious to me, they’re our collective characters and we all get to play in the sandbox. ❤️

I don’t do much art, I’m not very good at it, but I do want to share one since I’ve shared a bit of it. I have a few pieces I’m actually really proud of, and it’s equal liking for all of them, but I’ll share just one so I don’t talk too much.

I really like this one because for once I kind of drew a face well?? And it’s at an angle I don’t usually draw and it turned out ok?? Also I’ve never drawn rain or wet hair, and I think it turned out well. And I just like Power’s design, especially at this stage in his life where his war attire/design is mixing with his royal attire/design, even if I can’t give it justice. :) Also, I think his tired expression turned out pretty well? Like he has an actual expression?? Anyway. I think it’s decent, I like it. :)

Thank you for this ask, it made me really happy and I couldn’t wait to answer it! :D But I have like 60 works on AO3 and even more here on tumblr, so there was no way I could narrow it all down, but I think I’ve listed most of my absolute favorites. :)

What's the biggest Pokemon in your home? How expensive are they to take care of?

Well, the biggest is Aurorava, who is a tropius. She needs less food than most Pokémon her size since she can photosynthesize, so around ₽27000 a month so far? Not counting initial costs like good scale brushes and bedroom décor. Education will definitely increase that cost, but I haven't actually talked to her about what sort of school or tutor she would like yet... Oh, and I need to start buying more fruit while it's in season to cut up and freeze or dry for the winter. Hmm...

Question for anyone who knows about dealing with administrative stuff with the U.S. healthcare system: do you know if there is a protocol for resolving a discrepency between diagnostic information provided by the doctor/nurse practitioner and what's listed in the online portal beyond calling and asking whether they lied to my face or in my medical records?

According to my Calculations 🤓 ...

Assume that the average HRT user is paying $2k/y, and uses HRT for 35 years ($70k).

Assume it costs $140k, all things accounted for, to train a qualified gender therapist, associated staff, and build and run new buildings for them to work in.

Therefore, 10% additional tax on an average HRT user, would go 0.5% of the way to materially increasing the processing speed by the end of that service user's lifetime + the training duration.

Assume there are 100 basis units of processing capacity to begin with (100 therapists and associated capacity of depended staff).

Meaning every 200 lifetime users taxed 10% increases speed by 1 basis unit by the end of the above period.

Assume there are 50k users who have already been processed and therefore are taxable (people on waiting list don't generate tax for this calculation). (To keep things simple, we won't account for where each taxable person is at in their lifetime).

10% tax would therefore increase processing capacity to

100 + (50,000 / 200) = 350.

That would cut a 5 year waiting time down to 1 year and 5 months.

The tax per user would be $200/y.

20% tax ($400/y) = 600 = 10 months.

40% tax ($800/y) = 1100 = 5.5 months.

80% tax ($1,600/y) = 2100 = 3 months.

160% tax ($3,200/y) = 4100 = 1.5 months.

320% tax ($6,400/y) = 8100 = 3 weeks.

640% tax ($12,800/y) = 16100 = 10 days.

1280% tax ($25,600/y) = 32100 = 5 days.

Assume there would be a $250k+ lobbying cost to "encourage" the relevant politicians to pass the legislation, regardless what percentage the tax is set at (paying for lawmakers time), but this could be waived if bundled as part of an election platform.

If there are any glaring omissions in my numbers, please comment, but I've tried to keep the numbers round / easily divisible.
