Lip Practice! - Art Thursday
I hope yall are ready cause guess who (tentatively) learnt shading! I did a practice piece (does it count as a practice piece when it's only 2?) of lips. It was actually my first time doing only lips, like ever so that was fun. So turns out, despite me thinking I was using a lot of layers, I was not using enough. Who'd've thunk? I used the guidelines on this site to figure out shading/highlighting among other things. I personally found it really easy to follow and thought that it improved my art a lot just by helping get a better grasp of the technique. Like how changing how you hold the pen can change your handwriting.
I found the top lip easier to shade than the bottom because I did the top in the light pink while I found the darker colour was a lot harder to not only add shadows and highlights but to blend as well. So more practice needed there definitely. Overall though I don't think it came out too bad!
Things went a bit funky converting to jpeg and I only just realised as I inserted it here so... oops?😅
