Kiburi: Yeah? And what’s that?

Kiburi: ….And?

Tamka: And we want a Nokia N-Gage

Kiburi: No you don’t! It went defunct it 2006!

Nduli: Actually, it was in 2007

Kiburi: You know the year it went defunct! Why do you want it?!

Tamka: Cuz it looks cool!

Kiburi: You said that about the OUYA Ya bought last week

Tamka: The OUYA doesn’t have any games

Kiburi: I told you that before we bought it, neither will this!

Nduli: But Kiburi, it’s so cooooooool!

Kiburi: I don’t even think you can play games on that thing! It was a phone service!

Tamka: But Ucheshi said this stuff was awesome!

Kiburi: ……….Boys, stay here

Nduli: Okay, Kiburi.

Kiburi: Have you been telling them to buy outdated electronics?

Ucheshi: Yes.

Kiburi: WHY?!

Ucheshi: Because you hurt my boyfriend, fuck you, dude.

One morning we came across a group of lions gnawing away at a cape buffalo who was already past caring.

A couple of female lions and some cubs enjoyed breakfast while the male, who had already eaten, lazed in the grass. Over an hour or so, a whole parade of scavengers arrived to wait, sneak in for a nibble, and hold one another at bay, all while the lions remained focused on their meal.

It was gruesomely fascinating, and the photos are below so you can skip them if the whole thing is too red in tooth and claw.

In the last photo above, the lion is scratching dirt over the bloody ground where the buffalo met its demise. Our guide said that diminishes the scent of the kill and its siren call to every hungry creature, but it's safe to say plenty of creatures were already on the case.

Jackals had been close by since we arrived, but they got steadily bolder as the lions dawdled. Then an assortment of vultures arrived. Of course they flew in, but then they edged closer on foot. They were remarkably stealthy for such enormous birds.

The vultures pictured above include lappet-faced vultures and white-backed vultures.

Finally, the little jackals couldn't wait another minute. The lions had pushed the buffalo stomach off to one side, intact, and that is where the jackals made their move.

The big male lion had returned to the buffet by this time, and lost patience with the company.

Annoyed, the lion moved the buffalo a little. This left some bits and pieces behind, including the stomach, and the jackals and vultures went to town.

Just when it seemed the jackals would finally have a chance to dig in, the hyenas that had been creeping around the edges decided they had waited long enough.

It was interesting to see the one unfortunate buffalo provide a meal for the whole wild kingdom.

When we moved on to have our own breakfast, the male lion was still standing guard.

goigoi is hilarious i love him so much. bro does NOT care about being in scar's army at all. he literally just wants to sleep, impress his wife and hang out with his buddies to eat a zebra. he's a real one

he's definitely the weird dad friend and i love him for it

Two snippets of lore from the Battlepass that I want to comment:

Contrary to popular belief around Twitter, I don't see this as flirting but as Kapkan calling Fenrir inexperienced & lost. He might or might not be thinking to act a bit as his mentor to try shape him into what he thinks a proper soldier should be (after all, we know from Kap's bio he likes mentoring other soldiers, and he was Finka's mentor too). Not to mention going for petplay "flirting" at work would be weird as all fuck guys wtf

I am so happy to see some more about Lion and Jackal's friendship! We were told they were friends, but until now I think we never saw/heard them intereact in any way. And this is 100% something you'd say to a friend, not to mention he calls Jackal by his name rather than callsign. Idk, I really enjoyed seeing this little blurb 😄

do you have any ideas about what the outlanders would do/how they'd react to the outlander lions returning? i wonder if they'd be anxious about their literal new leader leaving at such a bad time, even tho it's by necessity. idk i've just been rewatching Return To The Pridelands clips and thinking about it :3

During the events of TLK 2, after the skinks shared the news of the Outsiders returning, Jasiri immediately told her clan to go into hiding and to be EXTREMELY careful when going out cuz of how evil Zira is. She also warned Reirei, Kiburi, and Mzingo about the news and to avoid Zira’s pride at all costs while she and Janja went to fetch the Lion Guard. She left Mzingo and Madoa in charge of the Outlands while they were gone

All Reirei has heard about Zira is that she was affiliated with Scar and that was enough reason for her pack to also go into hiding unless told otherwise. She’s not taking chances

Kiburi wasn’t really all that worried since in his words, he and his crocs can take care of themselves. If they went near his watering hole, it’ll be the last mistake they ever made. They just chilled in their watering hole

Kenge and Sumu didn’t have to do anything different either. They highly doubted Zira would be after them so they acted like everything was normal. Same with the skinks. They really couldn’t care less at the time

Although I feel like when Shupavu and Njano told them that Zira was after Simba, the jackals came out cuz hey, it’s not their problem lol. I think only Jasiri’s clan wanted to help the Pridelands anyway

i feel like he's just a kid who's been led down the wrong path by his mom, but i think he does genuinely have the potential to be good. he and his sister kijana definitely become friends with wema and tunu :) i have a lot of cute hcs for him
