Framed in an upcycled frame, this linocut was hand carved and printed by the artist Ben Brockman @brockchop. It is signed and numbered in an edition of 10. “Cotinis nitida, commonly known as the green June beetle, June bug or June beetle, it is a beetle of the family Scarabaeidae. It is found in the eastern United States and Canada, where it is most abundant in the South. It is sometimes confused with the related southwestern species figeater beetle Cotinis mutabilis, which is less destructive. The green June beetle is active during daylight hours. The adult is usually 15–22 mm (0.6–0.9 in) long with dull, metallic green wings; its sides are gold and the head, legs and underside are very bright shiny green. 🌞Solstice print🌞 I sat at my kitchen table last night, listened to River Whyless, and carved this little beauty. It was a lovely way to welcome in the winter and the return to light. I was doing some linocut printing, but the prints never came out right. There must have been something I was doing wrong, but I didn’t know what. Do we have to wash the block between prints? If you know please leave a comment below.

Je faisais de l’impression de linogravure, mais les impressions ne sortaient jamais bien. Il devait y avoir quelque chose que je ne faisais pas bien. Est-ce qu’il faut laver les blocks entre chaque impression? Si vous savez, s’il vous plaît écrivez un commentaire en dessous.
