[Happy belated asking-paradise anniversary! Here's a silly little animatic I made to test out Clip Studio Paint's features, using some audio from Game Grumps!!]
Hey, mod, aside from your friends' blogs, who are some people you really look up to, and why??
I’m gonna cheat a bit, and add people I’m kinda friends with, but I wish we were better friends.
((Explanation under the cut))
@daily-pikachu: They are one of the people that interact with my blog the most, and I really like receiving an ask from them. Not only that, I actually love drawing Kronos. I wish I was better friends with them.
@something-like-an-askblog: I really like how humanoid the characters look, as well that there’s like no real filter to what they can do and draw. I wanna thank them for the thing with Yasumi. I also wish I was better friends with them.
@askthatespurr: I actually really like their drawing style and how wholesome the blog is in general!
@asking-paradise: Not everyday you see a PMD Askblog based on Gates to Infinity, and a good looking one as well! I really like how detailed and kinda realistic their characters look. They are the reason my characters look a bit more detailed than before.
@askmrnuzleaf: Pokemon MSD is actually one of my favourite games of all time, and I’m pretty happy to see someone likes that game as well. Not only that, but it’s nice to see they draw traditionally as well.
@shima-draws/ @ask-explorersoftime: Another blog with PMD characters! This time, Explorers! They have like really professional-looking art, and their human characters look so cool!
@sos-togedemaru: A more recent blog that already looks amazing, as well their detailed art. They are really god at expressions.
@askharmoniauniversity: Probably one of the best blogs out there, I adore how they handle character interactions and personalities, as well as having one of the most clean artstyles I’ve ever seen.
@yourdailyumbreon: I owe them a lot. It was because of them that I wanted to start an askblog many years ago. I’m really inspired by their artwork, and they are the reason my favourite Pokemon is Umbreon.
[Happy 4 year anniversary! This year I decided to update the icon and header for the blog; the former of which is a simple redraw, and the latter I opted to collage some of the drawings from other the years together.]
Linn, what happened to the frism that carried the voices of your friends as Hydreigon took you back to the human world? Were you able to take it with you?
Well it... Huh, I guess I hadn't really thought about it, but it never did make it back with me, even though my bandana made the trip. That would make it the only object that wasn't successfully taken between the human world and the pokemon one. Wonder why that is...
As mysterious as that is though... I don't think I'll linger on that for too long unless it happens again; I don't really want to have to listen back on... such a sad time; they really wanted to leave me with a happy last message, but it'll always be bittersweet.
[New Team Impulse references! No major changes (the only real one is that Linn no longer has black in her color palette, it got swapped out for more brown), I was just feeling like they deserved an update.]
Have you ever considered an earring or tail accessory?
...I don’t think earrings would really be my thing. Maybe a tail accessory, but it might get in the way when I’m swimming; I use my tail a lot for that.
Uncharted Road is one of those high mysteriosity dungeons that, normally, you only enter while going through other mystery dungeons. You go through a few floors of Uncharted Road, and then return back to whatever dungeon you were in the middle of.
...which, makes this weird, if this is Uncharted Road, because it has spawned as its own dungeon.
Maybe it has become strong enough to become its own dungeon...? I hope not, honestly. An actual dungeon in Paradise would still be really bad...
“There’s a mystery dungeon in Paradise!” Meeko blurted out, his agitation evident by his tone. “This isn’t- Dungeons can’t just do that!”
“It does seem to be a bit of an... odd, appearance, even for a mystery dungeon,” Virizion agreed.
Drilbur glanced back and forth nervously. He readjusted his hard hat.
“I-I’ve never seen this happen before either. I would never- never do Treasure Trove if I knew it would-”
“I don’t think this has anything to do with that,” Linn told Drilbur, cutting off his apologies. “You’re right, what you do for the Treasure Trove is completely different than this. This is new. But we’ll figure out how to get rid of it,” she continued, turning to Meeko and gently moving away one of his hands that were tugging on his own ears. “We’ll go through the dungeon and hopefully get some answers.”
Virizion glanced down at the pair, “would you like me to get the others?”
Linn paused, but then shook her head.
“Meeko ‘n I will do this ourselves,” she decided, pausing again to allow Meeko the chance to disagree, but he seemed to be alright with her choice, so she continued. “We’ll need you all here to keep an eye on things on this end, make sure no one accidentally wanders in or anything.”
Virizion nodded, “sounds like a plan. Don’t forget your supplies; we don’t know how dangerous this dungeon could be. I get the impression it won’t be an easy one like most new dungeons tend to be.”
“We’ll be fine,” Meeko replied, new determination entering his voice. “We’re going to get rid of this dungeon and everything will be fine.”
“That’s right,” Linn hummed, taking Meeko’s hand in hers as they approached the entrance to the strange dungeon.
[Virizion and Drilbur are unavailable for asks!]
[Insufficient material for Plot Route 2.]
[Insufficient material for Plot Route 3.]
[Following Plot Route 1: Finding the Humans.]
Headcanon A: Linn prefers walking on her hind legs, to the point where sometimes even if she is running she will be on her hind legs. She's getting better at going quadruped when she needs to, but she rarely does it unless she needs that extra speed or if it's handy in a fight. This is in part just in general because she's human, but also because she's tall as a human, and likes having the extra height by staying bipedal.
Headcanon B: Some of Linn's pika powers carry over into the human world, and sometimes she accidentally shocks other people. She has great control over her electricity as a pikachu (her partner is a water-type, she does not want to accidentally hurt him) but having electric powers as a human is a whole other ball park. This has become a joke with her human classmates about her always having a static shock.
Headcanon C: Deep down, Linn still doesn't understand why she was the one human to be successful. Logically, she knows it has more to do with how she surrounded herself with friends and love, and that lent to her success, but that sort of increases her own imposter syndrome of not feeling like a hero despite often being treated as one.
Headcanon D: Linn never fully trusted Munna from the start. There was something... off, about her story, especially since no one else had ever heard of this terrible Hydreigon character. She still goes out with Meeko to help Munna anyway, just in case Munna is telling the truth, but her suspicions are proven correct. Not that this helps them terribly much in the moment other than getting Munna to reveal her true intentions far sooner.
Meeko hums a bit as he thinks, still leaning onto Linn.
“They... They barely fit into the mythology at all, really,” he finally says, “I’ve heard some stories that mention them, it’s commonly thought that humans once existed in this world, but there aren’t that many stories about them. Not even about why they aren’t here anymore. There are some about them creating some pokemon though,” he continues, glancing up at Linn for a moment to see if he was forgetting something before continuing. “At least that I’ve heard of, but we have been doing some research recently on that. On the plus side, most of the time humans are portrayed positively in myths,” he added.
After a pause, his ears perk up as he seemingly remembers something.
“Oh! There is this neat myth about wise human who would help pokemon in need! I’ve always liked that one,” he says, “the myth goes that the human lived in a cottage deep in the woods, and pokemon who were truly in need could go out to get help or advice. The human helped heal old wounds and bring pokemon back together as communities.”
Quagsire tilts his head for a moment as he thinks of the memory.
“It was, mmmm, a surprise to most of us. Hmm, I never believed in the few myths I would hear... but I always believed Linn when she told us,” he answers, “she has always been a bit special, hmm? And honest; I know she would not make something like that up.”
He pauses, just long enough that one could think that he was done, when he suddenly speaks up again.
“Mmmm, I think some were, hm, unhappy to have not been told before, but I understand why she would have kept quiet about it for so long,” he adds, “it was, mmm, her choice anyway.”
Hey Meeko and Linn, out of all the adventures you had, which ones are your favorite/memorable? PS, you're both so cool! I wanna be just like you two!
--From, a huge Team Impulse fan.
If by adventures you mean dungeons specifically, I believe we've answered that one before.
But in general? Man, that's actually pretty tricky to decide. I'm bad at picking favorites. So many adventures have been good for different reasons... and admittedly, a lot of our big adventures had a lot of struggle in them.
Honestly, I think I'm going to put "favorite" as one big category for all the little adventures we have all together. It's my turn to be sappy and I enjoy when the whole team gets to go somewhere.
And when I get to see new places! That's always nice.
Me too! I think I said before that I liked all the adventures where we all met, and I also enjoy the adventures we all get to spend together. Having to leave someone behind when everyone wants to go somewhere is never fun.
And thank you! You keep being kind and cool too!
Yeah, thank you. Put in the work, remember to respect others, and I'm sure you can keep following your own dreams.
