Quagsire for the headcanons

Headcanon A: Quagsire likes giving gifts to show that he cares. Being able to help others in little ways like that makes him happy.

Headcanon B: The plot of land that was later sold to Meeko and became Paradise was bought by Quagsire by accident. It was an impulse (ha) purchase. He was looking for something to do with his time (after leaving his old rescue team) and was considering the shopkeeping business, so he bought the land without really thinking about what it would entail. Logically, he knew there wasn't a point to owning this land, but he got it anyway and it quickly went back up for sale.

Headcanon C: Quagsire was in a slump for a few years of his life, just sort of existing without really reacting to the world around him. He couldn't bring himself to care about anything for a really long time. He lived in Post Town for awhile but he didn't know or pay attention to anything that really happened, he was just there. It took a little while for him to learn that he was allowed to have feelings on things again.

Headcanon D: I made a comment about this on another post a long time ago, but Quagsire didn't punish Scraggy. At least, not in the horrifying way that the game implies. He instead helped Scraggy get back on his feet, and Scraggy fears Quagsire for it so much because he thinks the kindness is temporary and eventually Quagsire will let out his wrath, but that never happens.

Meeko hums a bit as he thinks, still leaning onto Linn.

“They... They barely fit into the mythology at all, really,” he finally says, “I’ve heard some stories that mention them, it’s commonly thought that humans once existed in this world, but there aren’t that many stories about them. Not even about why they aren’t here anymore. There are some about them creating some pokemon though,” he continues, glancing up at Linn for a moment to see if he was forgetting something before continuing. “At least that I’ve heard of, but we have been doing some research recently on that. On the plus side, most of the time humans are portrayed positively in myths,” he added.

After a pause, his ears perk up as he seemingly remembers something.

“Oh! There is this neat myth about wise human who would help pokemon in need! I’ve always liked that one,” he says, “the myth goes that the human lived in a cottage deep in the woods, and pokemon who were truly in need could go out to get help or advice. The human helped heal old wounds and bring pokemon back together as communities.”

Quagsire tilts his head for a moment as he thinks of the memory.

“It was, mmmm, a surprise to most of us. Hmm, I never believed in the few myths I would hear... but I always believed Linn when she told us,” he answers, “she has always been a bit special, hmm? And honest; I know she would not make something like that up.”

He pauses, just long enough that one could think that he was done, when he suddenly speaks up again.

“Mmmm, I think some were, hm, unhappy to have not been told before, but I understand why she would have kept quiet about it for so long,” he adds, “it was, mmm, her choice anyway.”

Actual... residential buildings are still being worked on. We usually build by interest, since we don’t want to expand too much too fast, but there still isn’t a lot of interest... for ‘mons to, uh, move out in the middle of nowhere.

About half of those twenty-two are including us on Impulse, and some of the Paradise workers that live here too, to be closer to their work.

That’s okay though! Paradise isn’t even a year old yet. I wouldn’t want to rush this too much. Being smaller is pretty cozy anyway.

So, how are the other Paradise-dwellers doing? You know, Gurdurr, Quagsire, Victini, etc.

We talked to them earlier today, and they all seem to be doing pretty well!

Yeah! Victini isn’t around anymore though. They were only here for the V-Wave season, and that’s been over for a few months. Hopefully they’re doing alright wherever they are now!
