Someone get this poor frog boy transferred to Naranja / Uva and away from the overly competitive nature of Blueberry Academy please-
>HC "'"Elaboration'"" and minor spoilers (for Kieran's Indigo Disk Team, mostly, but some plot points) below;
*And for Christ's sake give him his furret back GameFreak!!
*Unrelated, but does anyone else find Kieran's team going from Poliwrath -> Politoed to be adorable? Like, First big team has Poliwrath - a not quite full frog - and Second definitive team has full froggy Politoad?? Love that Kieran is not only designed frog-like, but gets emphasized with them, A+ character design choices, very *chef's kiss* 🤌🤌
*Anyway so...
• "<player> has everything I've ever wanted!...She’s/He’s got strong Pokémon! She/He can go anywhere she/he wants, and she/he can be friends with anyone!...I loved Ogerpon since forever ago! But even Ogerpon chose her/him over me!...Even YOU, Sis! You were being all nasty toward her/him at first, but then boom! You were like best friends in no time
...The kid obviously has insecurity issues strengthened by an abrasive relationship with his sister, minimal positive outlets to let himself flourish in a healthier way, and an inferiority complex he falsely believes strength will compensate for,, like, a school (Blueberry) whose main (whole? tbh) shtick is to make their trainers good at battling and centers the majority of its social AND curricular (that the player as an exchange student can observe, anyway) interactions around competitive Pokémon battles is NOT helping to do anything but strengthen any unhealthy thoughts and feelings about such concepts he has
•Note: when confronted with the reality that he's not as strong as he *perceives* he should be / earned the right to be (i.e. player beats him despite him being the "top" trainer at Blueberry), the cognitive dissonance it creates sends him into a panic attack....and the Blueberry kids just. scoff?? Immediately throw out their favor?? Very healthy mindsets and social hierarchy at Blueberry Academy, perfectly conducive to friendly and healthy competition, clearly (/sarcasm)
•Compare it to the variety of tracks of Naranja / Uva (2 of which - STEM and Humanities - have nothing to do with battling) and the Treasure Hunt, which encourages *independent* study into a variety of topics: i.e., allowing one to explore and experience a variety of things of personal interest in order to learn about one's self at one's own pace, bound by nothing but their own personalized limits...can you imagine how much that atmosphere would improve and expand Kieran's mental framework and ideas?? He can get everything he his desire "to be like [player] so, so badly" emphasized in his quote above - Strong Pokemon, going anywhere [he] wants, being friends with anyone (Carmine included)...and probably whatever attracted Ogerpon, for that matter - by being like the player and going to the Academy that the game emphasizes as being what gave the player opportunity and experience to have BECOME what Kieran admires / envies.
•Also, him transfering would give him some freedom / independence from Carmine - and nothing against her (...much), but I genuinely think Kieran would benefit a lot in an environment where he didn't have (to be forced) to rely on and compare himself to his sister's ideals and prowess...which Kieran very much mimics and absorbs when "stronger"...not a coincidence - they're seem pretty co-dependent in the Teal Mask at times, if not have a very neglect / enable type feedback aspect to their relationship. BUT that's a story for another post never
*Sprigatito would be Kieran's starter choice (or more like it would choose him, tbh) - and not just because it makes sense in my cannon (i.e. Florian w/ Quaxly, Juliana w/ Fuecoco) lol; sprigatitio is legitimately perfect for him:
•It desires attention and companionship, to the point it's first description was how it's, "capricious and attention-seeking, and it tends to sulk if ignored by people" and the trait continues all the way throughout it's evolution (/i.e. growth "phases"), with Meowscarada being described as, "sensitive and prone to jealousy. It can often be very attached to its Trainer, and it will become upset if its Trainer gives attention to other Pokémon". Sounds like Kieran towards both the player and Ogerpon, lol (Kieran: . Somewhat unrelated, but Florgato's being the edgy teenager (as Carmine referred to Kieran's "mood swings") phase of Sprigatito's line involved it's *mood* effecting its "edge" / "hardness" ...of it's fur, but still - Kierans a "moody teen", right? Anyway, imagine Kieran with a Pokémon that would be as obsessed with him as he was with Ogerpon, lol (/jk)
•It's a grass type, which tend to suit Kieran, and he seems to have an affinity for (Ogerpon, Dipplin line, Shiftry, etc.). It developing a dark type as it evolves reflects Kieran's arc - it's final evolution is also both MASKED (reflecting Ogerpan hyperfixation and Kieran's family's history), and Jester / Mardi Gras themed, which goes along with the festival theme Kieran exhibited during the Teal Mask DLC ( like with his Dipplin). Both Kieran and Meowscarada have those cute droopy eyes too, which is a fun design element to connect the too, if nothing else, lol
•Getting further out with the idea, though: It's lines shiny is, fubckin' oURPLE!! Purple cat for the ourple boy, thank you,, (and how shiny!Meowscarada has a purple cuff and an invisible "leash" [its flower bud] around its neck is vaguely similar to the purple chain of the Loyal three...okay I'm really reaching now but still. teehee... ). Hey, anyone notice how purple is a complementary color for yellow, which happens to be Kieran's eye and main acccesory (headband / bag) color and -- I'm going anywhere with this, I just think its neat 👍
•Honestly just replace his current cat (Incineroar) with Meowscarada - Incineroar suits Carmine a lot better imo...which is why it's my theory it's on his final team, but that's. Also a different post I'll probably never make :^)
•Like, I get why they wouldn't have given Kieran a Paldaen starter for his team (for a variety of reasons, honestly), but,, Think about it •Sprigatito using its kneading on Kieran's (fluffy, sowwy ponytail!Kieran fans) hair for impromptu aromatherapy would probably be good for this kids anxiety tbh
*IMAGINE Kieran picking up mask-making in Hassel's art class - IMAGINE the positive energy and outlet art (not battling) and a professor like Hassel would provide this kid!!
TL;DR: DLC where Kieran transfers to Naranja / Uva Academy when GameFreak.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. The more you know 🌈

My initial off the top of my head wxs Pokémon partners match up would be
Nene - primarina/rotom/hatterene. Primarina is self explanatory, the rotom was originally rui’s but it possesses robonene so it’s hers now, and hatterene…
Emu - bewear/mr. mime/togekiss. Bewear is funny (& similar to the mascot bodyguard), Mr. Mime is self explanatory, togekiss is self explanatory wrt Pokédex entries.
Rui - porygon z/mimikyu/silvaly. I feel like all of these are pretty self explanatory.
Tsukasa - dragonite/sylveon/rapidash. Dragonite is a wxs world link reference, sylveon just fits, rapidash because there is no Pegasus pokemon.
#debated giving rui an absol (misinterpreted by humans leading to stigma) but mimikyuu fits him way better & I like porygon#i dislike giving random characters legendaries/mythicals but. silvaly fits too well.#originally had togekiss and sylveon swapped but I think togekiss fits emu better & tsukasa would have a sylveon. you know this in ur heart.#middle school tsukasa: I hope my eevee evolves into a super cool umbreon (it does not)#but sylveon does remind him of saki so he is fine with this.#debated giving him a Galarian rapidash but I honestly think regular rapidash works better#& the team aesthetic was leaning too heavily on the cute fairy side which there’s nothing wrong w but it’s not his vibe#primarina just fits nene absurdly well and I think giving her a hatterene is the funniest possible choice I could make#it fuckin hates tsukasa. wants him dead.#rotom/robonene (rotomnene?) also Just Works… it comes out of the robot occasionally but it likes the cool functions it gets as a robot#togekiss’s whole thing is it wants to be surrounded by nice kind people and it evolves w friendship. i think it fits emu.#& bewear gives spine breaking hugs canonically which is very emu#what else. uhh rui would 100% make the mimikyu cute little costumes & the dragonite is a world link reference#bc the dragonite embodiment of the sea guides ships thing. etc.#‘off the top of my head’ me when I lie. originally it was and then I got sucked into bulbapedia. sad. oh well.#if I was to give other characters mythical/legendary pkmn nene would get meloetta or manaphy/emu would get diancie or moltres#and Tsukasa would get jirachi or moltres. or maybe victini. who’s to say.#someone did give tsukasa a keldeo that could also work…#thank you for coming to my Ted talk. i have not played Pokémon since legends arceus.#project sekai

Hi! This may come across as a dumb question, but I wanted to write my own PMD:EoS fic, but I’m kind of lost on how I want to organize my thoughts and the plot. Additionally, I get new ideas and then I end up struggling with what I want to do. How did you organize things for your story?
This isn't a dumb question at all! It's something I've struggled with for a long time as a writer, and I'd be happy to share what I've come up with to solve my fight with story organization! I’ll try to speak coherently, but this is something I’m really passionate about, so I might ramble a bit, haha. Keep in mind that this is what works for me, and what will work for you may be very different. Take from this post what serves you well and ditch the rest :>
Organizational Tools
You can use pretty much anything to organize your story— I’ve used everything from loose printer paper in storage clipboards to expansive Google Docs that are hundreds of pages long in the past. But what I’ve found that really works for me is an app called Notion. You may have heard of it— it’s really popular with productivity enthusiasts and small business owners, but it works like a dream for organizing creative projects! There’s a bit of a learning curve, but you can find a lot of templates out there for free that work really well if you don’t want to set things up yourself.
This is how my Notion page for TPiaG was set up:
The “Cheat Sheets” dropdown list was full of character sheets, links to Bulbapedia articles I’d refer to while outlining or writing, and also my completed outline. “Fun Stuff” was full of memes and jokes about the characters, an empty page that I’d start filling once I received kind comments on my fic, as well as ideas for additional stories relating to the AU— stuff like oneshots and possible sequels or diverging AUs. Fun fact: this is where I first wrote down my idea for The Present is a Gift: Paradox Edition AU!
“Chapters to Write” and “Chapters I’ve Written” were dropdown lists where I divided my outline into little sub-dropdown lists in “Chapters to Write”, and everytime I wrote a chapter, I would move it over to “Chapters I’ve Written”. Nothing is as reassuring when you’re stuck in the middle of writing a nearly 60k word fanfic as seeing the chapters slowly migrate to the right.
Organizing the Story
Outlining is a big part of my organization process, so I’ll be talking a fair bit about it. The first part of any story is your premise / core idea (it sounds like you’ve already got some of your own, so I won’t discuss coming up with those). The next step is brainstorming what you want to revolve around that premise. I already knew the characters fairly well, so what I did for TPiaG is write out a bunch of ideas for scenes on scraps of notebook paper and start arranging them on a table in different ways. I eventually settled on an order of events (many of which ended up cut for clarity in the actual fic), and then I started structuring them into chapters.
How I structure chapters is inspired by the Kishotenketsu structure that is used fairly often in Asian storytelling. I divide each chapter into 5 parts: an Introduction that provides a starting point for the chapter, Development that builds on and adds context or tension to the introduction, a Twist that causes a new perspective on either the situation, characters, or something else in the story, a Resolution that helps wrap things up in a satisfying way, and then a Hook that leads the reader to want to read the next chapter. This is a structuring method that works way better for me than the Three Acts or the Hero’s Journey— I prefer the stronger focus on character vs. plot— and so I try to use it as often as possible. Here’s an example from my outline (if you’ve read TPiaG, you may notice some differences between it and the actual published chapters of the fic! It’s chapter 4 instead of chapter 3, for one thing!)
Organizing Characters
I’ll be honest— I didn’t fill out character sheets like I should have for this project. I kind of just went with the flow as I wrote them. Twig and Grovyle are the only characters who got sheets at all, and Grovyle still only got a half of one. However, I do have a blank copy of a character sheet I can share as reference!
I think most of this is pretty self-explanatory— but if anyone wants clarification on anything or what goes into the individual note sections, let me know! This is what the topmost part of Twig’s character sheet bio looks like:
The Torment of the Human Mind, or: How to Deal with Idea Overload
This is an ongoing struggle for me. I’ve mentioned having ADHD in the past, but it really turns idea generation and shiny object syndrome into a purgatory of unspeakable proportions. Before TPiaG, I had never finished a creative project because I would constantly ping-pong back and forth between newer and funner ideas, inevitably abandoning WIPs, come back to them for a few weeks at a time, and then dart off to the next thing. This feels awful because you never finish anything when you’re stuck in this cycle, and having all those ideas as open tabs in your brain is exhausting.
My greatest advice for figuring out what you want to do and then doing it? Figure out a fun idea— maybe not the funnest idea, but an idea you enjoy and can create with your current skills and a good helping of hard work— and then commit to it with a story priority hierarchy. Every time you want to work on another idea, you have to work on the idea you committed to first for 30 minutes (or a different block of time, whatever works for you!). After that allotted time is up, you’re free to work on whatever other projects you like— but you have to start at the top of the priority hierarchy. That way, you still get work done on your #1 project, but you’re not restricted to it.
Alternatively: Write until that priority project is done. You can make notes on ideas, you can make Pinterest boards for them, and you can make playlists— but you can only write for your priority project. I’d recommend doing this with a deadline in mind. Something like Camp NaNoWriMo or a similar month-long challenge. Novelty is an important part of my workflow! I get it. But for some people, bouncing back and forth between ideas is detrimental to their ability to focus / write, and committing to a single project at a time is extremely beneficial. I thought that I was someone who needed total freedom to work on any of my projects, but it turns out that being handcuffed to a project and a word count goal for a month was exactly what I needed to finish my first ever complete manuscript.
Yikes, this was a lot. I hope I answered your question well enough. If not, ask again and give me another shot! I love talking about creativity, and I would be overjoyed to help you create however I can.

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 13: Budding Spring - Episode 27: Ba-dump, Crisis
Banri: We’re takin’ a 20-minute break starting now.
Masumi: They uploaded a video for the KniRoun stage.
Sakuya: Woah, they did!
Chikage: Lancelot stands out quite a bit.
Tsuzuru: They also showed the sword fighting practice, looks like it’s been tough.
Banri: Nah, he seems to be havin’ a ball, he’ll be fine.
Citron: Itaru is having fun~
Rento: Heee~ He’s debutin’ overseas? Great goin’.
Rento: But seriously, comin’ back on the first day of performances is crazy.
Izumi: I suppose you’re right about that…
Izumi: But, even if it was unthinkable before, I think the Spring Troupe can now handle such a tight schedule.
Banri: Well, if they keep this tension going til the first day of the performances, they’ll be fine
Tsumugi: I hope Itaru-kun got to the airport safely.
Sakuya: I think it’s about time for his flight.
Chikage: Let’s look at the chat.
Izumi: Ah, he just sent a message on LIME…
Itaru: “bad news: i can’t get on a plane bc there’s a strike going on”
Tsuzuru: EHHHH!?
Sakuya: A strike won’t end any time soon, will it…!?
Tsumugi: That’s hard to tell. It could end in an hour, but it could also go on for days…
Banri: What do you wanna do? We can go through the first day with an understudy, or postpone it entirely…
Masumi: We chose the first day after careful consideration, so there would be as little competition as possible and our views would increase, so I don’t want to move it if possible.
Izumi: That’s true… And refunds will also impact voting…
Izumi: We would have to deal with refunds if we had to use an understudy, too. But at least then they would be minimal.
Banri: Got no choice but to go for an understudy, do we.
Sakuya: Um, can we wait until the last minute?
Tsuzuru: Please. Let us wait until it seems impossible for Itaru-san to return in time.
Izumi: …
Tsumugi: I’m ready to go any time, so it’s alright with me.
Sakuya: Thank you so much!
Chikage: I’m arranging a flight for him from another airport. If he makes it there, he’ll make it here in the nick of time.
Chikage: Tell Chigasaki to hurry and get to a bus.
Tsuzuru: ‘Kay!
Tsuzuru: “itaru-san, go to the nearest airport from there as soon as you can!”
Chikage: The next bus should be there in–
Citron: “i’ll say a leafage so you’ll make it in time!” (1)
-
Announcer: The plane has arrived at Narita Airport with a two-hour delay.
Announcer: We would like to offer our deepest apologies for this weather-related delay.
Itaru: (Citron used Leafage! It’s super effective…!) (2)
UC: Start running, Chigasaki.
Itaru: (I’m running!)
Saku: You can do it, Itaru-san! Curry: the director said she’ll come pick you up taruchi: it’s ok. going by taxi would be faster
Pedestrian A: Eh, why is the line for taxis so long?
Pedestrian B: Must be tourists~ Let’s take the train.
Itaru: (Huh? The line for the taxis is endless? Are you fr…)
Itaru: (Can I ask Director-san to pick me up now?)
Itaru: (But she’s probably busy with preparations, even if she comes, we won’t make it in time for the show–)

NOTES:
(1) citron says 青海苔 (aonori, green dried seaweed), i have absolutely no idea what he actually meant and acted under the assumption he meant お祈り/祈り (oinori/inori, prayer), one thing lead to another, and it became leafage (yes, the pokemon move; bulbapedia link) even though...
(2) ... itaru does not outright make a pokemon reference, because i had no idea how else to translate his line without it sounding extremely wonky

Swap AU Humans Round One
Below are profiles for characters from my swap AU! Plus transparent PNGs. I've posted them before all crusty and rushed, but here they are in all their glory! These sets will be tagged "swapchara"- mostly so I can find them again later.
In order from top to bottom- Aki, Sammy, Hailey, Amber, Kellen, Keith. Yes, they have different names for a reason. Yes, Sammy/swap!Tai looks slightly different. This is because I forgot to draw his bangs. Everyone else is as they appeared on their original posts.
Spoiler warning for Swap AU itself (this will be a fic), along with Digimon Last Evolution Kizuna. There are links for each of the mons leading to the Bulbapedia or Wikimon page- or in some cases, just an image- of what they're based on (some are obvious, others not so much).
TW for mentions of Digimon-level trauma, mild unreality
EDIT- Mild edit to Keith's height, added an extra line to his bio. Also edited Kellen's age.
PokeDestined
Aki
Gender: Male
Age: 10
Height: 4’4”
Weight: 72 lb.
Crest: Miracles
Japanese Name: Akihiro
Pokemon: Pichumon -> Pikamon -> Raimon -> Pawmotmon -> Zeramon
Aki is a hyperactive young boy born for adventure- at least before coming to the Pocket World and meeting the Pokemon residents. Its fate is now squarely in the hands of him and eight other children. Since then, he’s come to appreciate moments of peace. His optimistic, sunny nature is the perfect shield from whatever troubles him, though his partner Pikamon can see right through it. Aki and Pikamon are sometimes at odds since the latter is so serious, but they’re friends at the end of the day. He has very a large appetite.
Aki dreams of a boy and a “Pikachu” going on an adventure. Even when awake, he remembers this duo as if they were real. He would love to step into that life- if only for a moment- to escape the horrors that dog him on every step of his journey to save the world.
Hailey
Gender: Female
Age: 10
Height: 4’3”
Weight: 70 lb.
Crest: Reliability
Japanese Name: Hiromi
Pokemon: Azurimon -> Psymon -> Goldumon -> Gyaramon -> MegaGyaramon
Hailey is the group’s caretaker- a task she’s well-suited to since she has three younger sisters. Though she has enough determination to overcome foes and enough kindness to soothe small children, she isn’t able to overcome her own self-doubts. Hailey gets exasperated with the antics of her Psymon, who isn’t as “all-powerful” as he claims. But like the other children, she has a close bond with her Pokemon companion.
Hailey dreams and remembers another girl whose anger constantly boils. She, too, has a Pokemon, who she constantly berates for causing mischief. Hailey could never be that cruel! Yet, something about these sensations as natural as her own thoughts. Now, if only she could figure out the truth.
Kellen
Gender: Male
Age: 11
Height: 4’6”
Weight: 75 lb.
Crest: Kindness
Japanese Name: Kenji
Pokemon: Wyanumon -> Eeveemon -> Umbremon -> MegaHoundoomon -> Okidogimon
Kellen is surprisingly mature for his age, helping Hailey care for the group. He usually takes the first night watch. Though he seems distant from his partner Eeveemon, he has trouble clicking with the latter’s goofy personality. He puts on an aloof front held together with string and duct tape. A introspective person, he journeys as much to find himself as to save the world.
Kellen’s mental shield grows weaker because of the dreams and memories that don’t belong to him. The mere possibility he may be someone else is upsetting- let alone a person so brutishly arrogant. But if that person really is “the original one”, is Kellen’s own existence a grave sin?
Digimon Trainers
Sammy
Gender: Male
Age: 11
Height: 4’8”
Weight: 80 lb.
Type Specialty: Fire
Japanese Name: Satoshi
Digimon: Agufry, Leflare, Lavorvo
Sammy set out from his hometown with only Agufry by his side. His goal is to become a Digimon Master. Not even he knows what that means, and he becomes unusually defensive if questioned. He will do anything to help those in need, be they human or Digimon. Though a skilled battler, he has trouble understanding advanced technology. He needs help to use the virtual “ghost lands” where Digimon live. For some strange reason, he frequently encounters legendary Digimon.
Recently, Sammy remembers and dreams about a man and a dinosaur creature. Though his life is dangerous and he frequently experiences great loss, Sammy finds himself drawn to it. His own life has fallen into a routine. To him, these dreams are an adventure he longs to begin.
Amber
Gender: Female
Age: 11
Height: 4’6”
Weight: 74 lb.
Type Specialty: Psychic
Japanese Name: Atsuko
Digimon: Biyodee, Bakoboru, Tapiku
One of Sammy’s traveling companions. Amber is an expert with Psychic-type Digimon, able to understand their feelings better than any other type. She has a short fuse and can easily be pushed to the edge. Though she seems like a mere spitfire, she simply has trouble communicating her feelings. Coming from a family of psychics, yet born without psychic abilities, she struggles to find her place in the world. Thus, she set out with Biyodee on a journey.
Amber noticed strange behavior from both Sammy and her partner Biyodee recently. She isn’t sure of the reason. But she’s reaching her wit’s end with Sammy. Not helping are the dreams of a young woman who lost her beloved companion- dreams which make Amber want to hold Biyodee and never let go.
Keith
Gender: Male
Age: 12
Height: 4’6”
Weight: 82 lb.
Type Specialty: Ice
Japanese Name: Ken
Digimon: Gabello, 40+ others
Keith grew up in the same town as Sammy. He declared himself a Digimon Master long before he ever left home. In actuality, he has no idea who or what he is. To bury his insecurities, he bullies Sammy and searches relentlessly for power. His main Digimon is Gabello- a rare Ice/Fire-type and the crown jewel of his collection. He has forty other Digimon- each stronger than the last, but none able to fill the emotional pit in his heart. He's exactly two inches shorter than Sammy, and doesn't take it lightly when someone points that out.
One night, Keith had a disturbing dream where Gabello was taken from him. Since then, he’s dreamed of a man who looks much like him. He tries to ignore these dreams, as they’re interruptions on his path to power. But that boy and the strange Digimon he calls “Gabumon” seemed so happy together…before that day…

Some pokemon thoughts
My friend @dumpsterfiresons sent me these videos in the hopes of eliciting some thoughts from me on them:
youtube
youtube
I would suggest finishing the Scarlet/Violet before watching them. Similarly, to understand my thoughts on them please watch the videos first. Lets put my thoughts under a cut. I should warn that this is not entirely coherent.
Okay, Points of similarity brought up in the videos:
Crystalline structures
Light
Responsible for region's Gimmicks
Came from somewhere other (Ultra Space, legit actual space, something else maybe)
A few points of timelines lining up and possibly being connected to one another
Points not brought up:
2 of them have confirmed second forms, the third we know too little about but can suspect a second form based on evidence.
Things that also come from space:
Deoxys (Has multiple forms, brain appears to be a crystal structure according to Bulbapedia)
The Elgyem line (No multiple forms but possible gem like structures)
Minior (Multiple forms, mineral form)
The Cosmog line (Acknowledged in videos)
Solroc and Lunatone (Mineral)
I am fascinated, though, by the connecting line between all the space pokemon I could find (Leaving out the creation legends, though from what I can tell they all have their own private pockets of reality, and Dialga literally appears to have a diamond in it's chest. Pearls aren't created the same way crystals are, so Palkia is disqualified despite literally being the legendary of space, likewise Giratina's only points of similarity are coming from somewhere other and causing Alphas.)
I really hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree by finding this thread because it would legit be so cool if they pull in Deoxys to this whole mess. It's story sounds so similar, but on a smaller scale and much more recent, to what was described for Eternatus and Disk pokemon. It's literally a mythical that rode in on an asteroid. I would love some lore for Solroc and Lunatone, but that's more of a stretch as they don't have legendary/mythical status.
The connection to wishes brings us something else though:
"Jirachi: Wish Pokémon" "Jirachi hibernates for extensive periods, forming a protective crystalline shell as it sleeps." "Two yellow streamers flow from Jirachi's back, resembling comet tails" "The anime further reveals that Jirachi's awakening is linked to the Millennium Comet and that its third eye has the ability to absorb the energy Jirachi needs for hibernation." [- Bulbapedia: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Jirachi_(Pok%C3%A9mon) ]
For Lore reasons it makes sense that we don't see Jirachi much, which is sad. I am fascinated by the implications of a connection though. I want there to be a connection here holy hell. We don't know much of Jirachi's origins, we only know it's established pattern, and since that pattern takes so long to complete we can assume Jirachi has been around for longer then reliable records because how else would we know it's that consistent. Jirachi's head looks like a star. Jirachi looks baby. Jirachi, a creature that only wakes up for 7 days every thousand years looks baby. I wonder if the broken remains of Jirachi Crystal Shells have any effect on the local ecosystem. Perhaps an origin for at least some rock/ground types?
What would happen if you carried Jirachi in it's crystal shell into Area Zero? Putting that much wish power in one place is probably unwise.
I wonder which space pokemon most closely resembles the Millennium Comet and if you could artificially wake Jirachi up that way. Would that be wise? Would that hurt Jirachi? Would that evolve Jirachi as pokemon evolution comes from energy they have either stored or drawn from an outside source and waking Jirachi up early would lead to it having spare reserves? What happens then? Is Jirachi the first extra-terrestrial pokemon? Is it drawing the others closer?
Many questions, not many answers.

Still going over the Legendverse legendaries so far. Reread the Bulbapedia page of Lunala and Solgaleo to get some ideas for their powers got their Chosens.
Lunala
Prior to this paragraph, Bulbapedia mentioned that Lunala's third eye ( which in general is something I should research) is one of a bright red eye. Something to keep note of to see if that has any significances. Going back to this paragraph, Lunala can obscure daylight with darkness- again something to look into. My thought just now was that, in the day time, while the moon is still present, Ames power would be weaker....except with shadows and or darkness. This kinda steals Marshadow's gimmick, but it's still interesting. Another thing I noted that actually didn't appear in Solgaleo's Bulbapedia page was that Lunala can essentially use a force field? When clicking the link it brought me to the ability shadow shield( Lunala's ability) which both boosts the idea that Ames/ Lunala Chosens would have powers over darkness, which is probably really useful when it's not nighttime lol. So yeah, Ames can make shadow force fields.
Going into Solgaleo
The most notable thing here was a paragraph before, where it's said that the third eye for Solgaleo reflects a compass rose than an eye. A compass is all about the direction of the wind- navigation. The problem is that I don't really associate Solgaleo with the wind or navigation outside of the day time probably being the best time to travel. We could do "navigation by star" stuff, though admittedly I'm only vaguely familiar with using the stars at night for navigation. The body of Solgaleo being able to hold lots of energy is interesting though. Both Lunala and Solgaleo involve absorption in some way, but with Lunala it's absorbing light to spread a nightly darkness( which still has light within it mind you, with the moon and stars). While Solgaleo is kinda reverse? It builds up energy from within and the reason why it looks like the sun is because of that energy being built up from the inside. I don't know if that makes sense, but like. Semi opposites. What does that mean for Chosen powers though....no clue. Looking at Solgaleo's ability, full metal body, kinda gives me some insight? The ability is basically Solgaleo not being able to take stat reduction from moves and abilities. Kinda adds to the "building of energy from within" bit in a way. The last thing I want to touch up on that I didn't fit Lunala was the title " beast that eats the sun", which is reference to alchemy, specifically the purification of metal, which leads to the creation of steel. Does that give me a good idea of what a Solgaleo's powers would be? Nope! But is it interesting and I'm gonna look into it? Yeah lol
My main take away from this is that Solgaleo is harder for me personally to crack down than Lunala. And also I gotta look up solar and lunar powers on the superpower wiki lol.

Fact number 4: and actually strongest one: Whirl Cup competition. It was brought up and created as tournament which serve as one of mandatory events every water trainer which dreams of becoming water master needs to enter and win. It was just top of iceberg because whole plot and wording left strong implication how there exists several other events to enter on road of becoming water master with Whirl event being one of them. . Judging by wording from sea priestess Maya and professor Elm right when Whirl Islands journey began; title of water master means becoming water pokemon expert which has power to understand sea creatures and use them to full potential, being recognized and respected among all water trainers worldwide gaining title of "Alpha Omega of water pokemon" which water heroes used to obtain in ancient times. In japanese original version going by episodes "Around the Whirlpool!", "Dueling Heroes!" and "Perfect Match!" was consigned as convoluted form of "water pokemon master"(check bulbapedia for veracity of this statement in case of any doubts). As such Whirl Cup was introduced as one of such competitions where you can gain more experience, make step forward and prove yourself to others being directly linked with water master thing serving as one of benchmarks through which you come closer toward such title. Just like coordinators have contests they need to win to become top coordinator, Ash has gyms he needs to pass in Misty case in order to become water master there exist special tournaments, procedure which needs to be followed(sanctioned by league committee) being another reason why leaving gym and travel is a must with current position not allowing to accomplish everything needed to obtain such power level and title. Granted more details and path to achieve title of water master wasnt fully explained and fleshed out afterwards with Misty leaving cast. But Whirl islands gave prelude in whole career on more significant level revealing some of tasks and info of what this goal entails with itself. EDIT: Hopefully this wasnt annoying read to any of you and beside explaining some un known details, i created this thread in setting foundation of what other steps, beside mentioned ones above each of you people think may be required but havent been chance to be explored in pokemon anime. To lead someone toward title of becoming master of water pokemon? So all of you feel free to be creative and open minded in discussing this. ;)
Adding a copied version of an old post from Pokecommunity that elaborates a bit on what Misty's goal actually entailed (hint: it wasn't simply being a Gym Leader, and if anything, had being a Gym Leader been the goal all along, she would NEVER have left Cerulean Gym in the FIRST place). Kudos to DBZ Fan, or as he's known elsewhere, Pokemon Fan 132, for the post BTW. He has my respect regarding being able to convey far more than I ever can regarding Misty's goal:
Hello everyone, ever since i joined online pokemon fandom subject of Misty water trainer career was crux of lot of debates. Speculations and random theories over the years. So i decided to make this thread to help clear out common misconceptions, possibly unknown things to some of you and lack of knowledge related to Misty career of becoming water pokemon master. Many people believe there was never nothing explained about Misty goal in pokemon anime during 5 years she was main traveling partner coming up with personal headcanons and conclusions, One of ever so popular being how: "gym is way for Misty to become water master", but through this thread im going to present so far known facts and what in reality water pokemon master dream showed and to certain degree implied to envelop: Which are following:

March 13, 2021: Kwaidan: In A Cup of Tea (1965)
This is it! Story 4 of 4, and it’s been a great ride so far!
This is genuinely a great movie, so I can’t wait for the final bit here! OK, I’ve somehow found a way to tie a Pokemon to all of these so far, like a goddamn nerd, so...I mean, I guess this one’s obvious, right?
Sinistea and Polteageist are genuinely one of my favorite new Pokémon. Hey, say what you like about Pokémon Sword and Shield (and, yeah, you definitely can), but most of the new Pokémon were pretty goddamn solid.
But, OK, let’s see, what’re Sinistea and Polteageist based on? According to Bulbapedia, they’re based on...ghosts and tea. Um...I mean...OK? Well, that went nowhere, I guess. So, uh, let’s see what happens with this short! Let’s get into it!
This is the last of four tales presented in the film Kwaidan, all of which are linked here:
The Black Hair (黒髪, Kurokami)
The Woman of the Snow (雪女, Yukionna)
Hoichi the Earless (耳無し芳一の話, Miminashi Hōichi no Hanashi)
In A Cup of Tea (茶碗の中, Chawan no Naka)
One more time! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Recap (4/4): In A Cup of Tea
Briefly, we jump forward to the year 1900, 32 years post-Meiji Restoration, around the time that the original stories were collected and written. The collector, author, and narrator of all of these stories (Osamu Takizawa) is awaiting a visit from his publisher. He notes that these stories were incomplete in many instances, and the author questions why that is. However, he decides to present an example in the form of the last story, which takes place on New Year’s Day, 220 years in the past.
Lord Nakagawa Sadano is making a round of visits with his entourage. One of his attendants, Kannai (Nakamura Kan'emon), takes a cup of tea. In the cup, he sees the face of a man, where none is behind or above him. He empties the cup, and grabs another one. When you have to hydrate, you have to hydrate. And the face in the cup agrees. Kannai empties the cup again, and smashes it this time. He grabs another cup and fills it with tea, but NOPE. THERE HE IS AGAIN! But again...when a guy’s gotta hydrate...
So, yeah, Kannai drinks the tea with the face in it, which I’m sure can only lead to good things. He goes inside the temple, and is directed to assume night watch duties, guarding Sadano. He mutters some prayers to himself, and then spies a cup. Still shaken by the previous incident, he knocks over the cup.
Ah. Well, fuck. The guy’s name is Heinai Shibuku (Noboru Nakaya), and he questions why Kannai doesn’t recognize him. Eventually, he realizes that they’re one and the same, but he doesn’t admit it. Instead, the attendant asks how Shibuku got into the estate, which he doesn’t say. Instead, he claims that the attendant caused him great harm that morning, which I assume was by drinking him. Fair enough, really.
Kannai tries to attack him, but each attack phases through the mysterious stranger, as if he were a ghost or something. Weird, right? Kannai agrees, and he rouses all of the other guards to help find him. However, they all basically call him crazy and take off, leaving him alone.
The next night, Kannai’s alone in his chambers, and a young woman comes to visit him. He stares at the cup she’s brought suspiciously (understandably), when he’s also interrupted by news that he has three visitors. He goes to greet them, and they tell him the news that Shibuku was hurt by his sword slashes, and has gone to heal himself. Kannai apologizes for this, but isn’t happy to hear that Shibuku will return on the 16th of EVERY MONTH to avenge himself.
Kannai slashes at the visitors, but they appear to be like Shibuku, and disappear at his every hit and slash, only to reappear elsewhere. Kannai, clearly a little stressed out at this point, continues his assault. And there’s a BRILLIANTLY shot scene, where you see their shadows, and not the samurai themselves. Holy shit, that looks cool.
But then, Kannai appears to get the upper hand, and appears to kill the trio. However, of course, they come back. And Kannai...Kannai’s not doing great at this point. Mentally, I mean. He starts laughing like a maniac, clearly not OK. And then...
That’s it. The story ends. We come back to the modern day, where a woman is trying to find the author, who’s suddenly gone missing after writing all day. His publisher (Nakamura Ganjirō II) comes to visit, and the two search for him. The publisher stumbles upon the story he was writing, which finishes with the idea that, since there’s no ending...why don’t you come up with the best one. How would end a story about a man who swallows another man’s soul?
Maybe...like this.
Holy shit, that’s the author! Now THAT is how you end a fuckin’ ghost story! That was Kwaidan! AND HOT DAMN, that was a good movie! Seriously, I have goosebumps. Review should be interesting. See you there!

Have you thought of migrating the wiki outside fandoom? Honestly they seem to be more trouble than they worth it
It’s a noble idea, and I appreciate the sympathy for our roadblocks with Fandom, but talking about it internally with the other staff today there’s a number of reasons that it would ultimately backfire on us.
The first thing TS checked was a page that apparently used to be for exporting a whole wiki, but now apparently can only export individual pages. Considering our volume of content that would. Take some time.
The next question would be then where we import those exported pages to. The only other major wiki system I could think of is gamepedia - aside from the fact that we don’t primarily document videogames, gamepedia has an upcoming merger with fandom anyway. Which is further proof of the existing broad observation that Fandom certainly seems to have a monopoly on pop culture wikis.
If we were to make our own mediawiki, the server would necessitate money to host and ability to maintain that none of us really have. Bulbapedia may have the kind of resources to pull that off, but we do not. If we did, Fandom would also actively suppress any announcements we made on their site about migrating. We could post it on the tumblr and discord here, sure, but not every user checks these places. This also leads to a tanked Search Engine Optimization, I think, possibly making our new wiki harder to find.
All of that aside, even if we smoothed all that over and made the move, all existing user accounts would be useless - everyone including probably staff would likely have to make new accounts just to edit the wiki at all, and the old user links on the page history and talk pages would be a mess.
Fandom has its problems, as does YouTube for example. But when you’ve hosted something in the same place for 10 years and don’t have the best resources to move, it’s easier to leave it where it is and hope/ask for improvements.

Shadow triad analysis ramble
Requested by @plasmagruntcalvin!
Basic analysis rules:
-only covers game triad
-these are just my thoughts but feel free to give your thoughts below!
Let's begin.
One thing I would like to cover first is the straiton trio = shadow triad theory. As fascinating and interesting as that would be (seriously the drama and narrative potential and the impact on the unovan league system is a gift that keeps on giving-) it's been disproved by the memory link showing the trio fighting the triad and losing.
Next point is their loyalty to the Plasma leaders.
In dialogue it is stated that that Ghetsis saved their lives. Saved their lives from what is not known or stated. Or whether it was a literal saving or metaphorical. (More on that later)
Either way. They seem utterly devoted to Ghetsis. Even after his defeat in bw2 they battle you in order to 'regain his lost heart'.
The amount of loyalty they show to Ghetsis does seem to match up to (what I know about) what is known about Ninjas. Historically during the Sengoku period of Japenese history. Which, is what they are. From their design to how they refer to themselves as 'Shadows'.
In fact, I would argue that they have no loyalty to Plasma, but to only Ghetsis himself.
After all they were 'sworn loyal to Ghetsis'. They even call themselves the 'loyal servants of Ghetsis' in bw. Not Plasma.
Yet, they still have some belief in pokemon liberation. It is not a strong belief like N had in bw or that most of the grunts in bw had. Yet to say they do not hold the belief of pokemon liberation would be incorrect.
In bw2 one of the triad says this:
"Ah... I feel sorry for Pokémon. They're ruled by Poké Balls and the whims of their Trainers... Lord Ghetsis spoke of Pokémon liberation two years ago simply for his own ambitions, but... If his plans had succeeded, many Pokémon would have been saved."
(Copied from bulbapedia)
While they were aware of Ghetsis's selfish goal, they still hold that belief that pokemon should be separated. While knowing that Ghetsis's motives for liberation are selfish they still believe it.
But their view and use of treatment of pokemon do not differ much from Ghetsis. Stating in bw2 that is doesn't bother them if the stolen pokemon scream or beg. Lovely.
In relation to N. The triad have an interesting relation to him. Consistently every time they mention him, he is always referred to as 'Lord N'. Not even Ghetsis, whom they are devoted to is consistently called 'Lord Ghetsis'.
The triad have an interesting relation to N. I would even argue they have strong affection to N.
As I mentioned before N is always referred to them as 'Lord N' and he is the only member of team Plasma that we know off who gives orders to the triad that they obey other then Ghetsis.
From my knowledge not even Colress is able to give them orders that they obey.
This could be possibly because he is Ghetsis's son but I would argue that even so they should obey Colress who was personally appointed by Ghetsis to lead team Plasma.
In bw they tell the protag that is 'Lord N's wish' that they go to the center of N's castle. The fact that they state it was N's wish not Ghetsis's implies some level of devotion to N that isn't shown to Colress.
For a final point, I'll admit it's very much a theory, but one I'd figured I'd mention.
In BW the shadow triad are shown fighting the striaton trio. Whom they call weak and win against. Leading to the straiton trio making the decision to leave and become stronger.
I would like to propose that the shadow triad are what the striaton trio could have become.
What do I mean by this? Quite simply, Ghetsis didn't literally save their lives. Instead. Ghetsis found the trio at their lowest. Suffering a similar devastating defeat as the straiton trio had. They had lost all purpose to their lives.
He promised them strength. He promised to make them stronger if they swore themselves to him.
To which they did. Ghetsis fulfilled his side of the bargain by making the trio utterly devoted to him and only him. He gave them purpose.
They are a more unfortunate ending to the tale of the trio.
Aaaaand that's all my points. Hope this was interesting for you all! ^-^
If you have anymore suggestions or have your own views send them in!
(Also I would recommend checking out @ask-sanyou-trio which I am a mun on and @askburningemmet which I run by myself!)
Have a good day! ^-^

rules: list ten songs you’ve been listening to a lot lately and tag ten people
Me? Actually doing a tag game for once? Listen I always plan on doing them I just get distracted but right now I’m procrastinating on my final projects and also this gives me a chance to scream about my current hyperfixations so here we go tagged by @supergeekytoon lov u also I’ve included links in case you wanna listen but don’t wanna exert effort (aka me)
1. Pokémon Sword and Shield - vs Gym Leader
I’d love to tell you who composed this but unfortunately Bulbapedia is still lacking in specifics outside of “The game's music was primarily composed by Gō Ichinose and Minako Adachi. Additional music was composed by Keita Okamoto and Toby Fox, the latter of which only composed one track.” I don’t know how trustworthy the credits in the description of this video are either. ANYWAY this gym leader theme is a fucking BOP and I live for the cheering crowd it just makes it feel so real!
2. Pokémon Sword and Shield - vs Hop
I haven’t gushed about Hop on this blog yet but trust me I’m getting ready to. He’s now the second rival I’ve adopted and ugh I just love him. He doesn’t deserve all the shit this game is putting him through and he CERTAINLY doesn’t deserve all y’all’s hate just because he’s the Tutorial Boy like have you looked at his smile just leave him alone already! Also his themes have them Latinx vibes and it’s to die for. And yes, I did say themes, which leads us to...
3. Pokémon Sword and Shield - vs Hop (v2)
HAVE YOU NOTICED A PATTERN YET listen I just really love Hop ok. In unrelated new I’m gonna kill Bede with my own two hands and I hope Opal makes him cry himself to sleep every night because that little fucker deserves it. This theme has them dance vibes, but I’m not well versed enough in dance to tell if it’s salsa or tango or flamenco or what. Also it makes me wish I’d done Latin dance one semester instead of swing. It also has the return of the cheering crowd! I know they’re saying “woah” but it’s fun to pretend they’re saying “Hop”.
4. Pokémon Masters - Battle! Barry
Again, I tragically can’t seem to figure out composer information, but Bulbapedia gives music credits to Haruki Yamada and Shota Kageyama. Anyway Barry was my first rival son, and this is the first official remake of his theme from D/P/Pt we’ve ever gotten, and LORD does it do him credit. It’s unbearably hype and full of so much energy, and it’s still recognizable as his theme even though it also adds loads of new motifs, and it just works so well. 10/10 would get fined and then bubble beamed into another dimension again.
5. Together — あきよしふみえ (Fumie Akiyoshi)
What, you thought I was done with Pokémon? SURPRISE, I’M NOT! This is the first opening for the original Japanese version of the Diamond and Pearl anime, which I’ve been watching religiously because my aforementioned son Barry appears in it. Tragically he doesn’t show up until the 101st episode, which is why I’ve been trying to tear my way through the first part of the series. (If you’ve seen my Discord status, it’s literally just a countdown to Barry’s debut. I’ve still got a long way to go.) As a result of this I’ve now got this theme ingrained into my brain matter. At least it’s v good and you bet I catch feels over “Fog Clear the sad feelings” every time.
6. ルマ (Ruma) — かいりきベア (Kairiki Bear)
Away from the Pokémon now, we have the NEWEST track from my favorite Vocaloid producer, Kairiki Bear! He’s normally not great at tuning Miku, but this one is actually really good. Definitely his finest Miku work yet. It’s also got that crazy guitar Kairiki is known for, and the subtle animations in the video are as good as ever. It’s also got super catchy repetition and just. Well. Every Kairiki song is a gift and as usual I’m hooked on this one even though I can’t explain it really well. ROAR!
7. ゴキブリの味 (The Taste of Cockroach) — MARETU
THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN OF MARETU TO VOCALOID AFTER OVER A YEAR OF NOTHING BUT ONE OUT OF THE BLUE INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM! Basically MARETU ended up in a bit of a scandal where he was caught cheating on his girlfriend with a minor with an undisclosed mental disability. (It’s important to note that the minor was over the age of consent, but below 20, thus still considered a minor in Japan...at least as far as I have been led to believe.) He did the whole public apology thing and then disappeared. Now it seems like he’s back! While I definitely have mixed feelings on him as a person now, I can’t deny that he’s a hecking great producer and one of the absolute masters of Miku tuning. You’ll notice in this song alone he’s tuning her in three different styles. The mastery. Anyway, all of MARETU’s songs are edgy as fuck, and this one is no different, this time tackling bullying in Japanese schools. The questions throughout the video fucked me up, man.
8. エイリアンエイリアン (Alien Alien) — ナユタン星人 (Nayutalien)
My favorite song of this quirky little alien series, Alien Alien has the cutest little dance and I’m super excited to see it in the next Project Diva game, even though it’s getting a dance pv instead of a story one. At least it fits with the original pv for once (stares at Sea Lily Deep Sea Tale). Anyway the story of a little telepathic alien who doesn’t quite understand human emotion falling in love with a human and realizing that not even impending oblivion can negate this feeling is just so sweet. I hope they’re happy.
9. ハウトゥー世界征服 (World Domination How-To) — Neru
I was obsessed with this song a while ago, got out of it, and now I’m back into it again. Just when I think I’m used to what Neru has to offer, he goes and sucker punches me with a song like this. I don’t even know how to explain it. The hopelessness of the pre-chorus compared to the sheer power of the chorus. The concept of looking at your past, present, and future selves and trying to decide where you stand and where you want to stand. The “let’s promise no matter what from now on that we’ll tear off the price tags on our backs” — a motif from the earlier Abstract Nonsense of being priced and labeled. It’s just so good. Definitely worthy of being the title track of its album.
10. シティー・ボーイ (City Boy) — Mitchie M
This last song was really hard to pick, because I’ve really only been listening to the first eight songs on this list over and over, occasionally throwing in World Dominaiton How-To, and outside of that everything else is mostly just listen-once-when-I’m randomly-in-the-mood-then-back-to-repeating-the-others. But of the rest of the songs in my giant music library, this one has been randomly played more often than anything else. It’s extra strange because it’s actually a cover that was done for a New Wave Vocaloid album, but Mitchie stuck it on one of his albums and then I was hooked. Mitchie is another master of Miku tuning, though you’ll notice that his specialty is making Miku sound ungodly realistic, whereas MARETU specializes in using her voice in unique ways. I would have liked to talk about Seraphim on the Ring or Assassin Princess here instead, since they’re way newer and also Mitchie’s original work, but that just wouldn’t have been truthful to my current music tastes. Sorry, Mitchie.
Alright, that’s officially it. I’d tag people but I’m pretty sure most everyone has been tagged already as usual but if by some fluke you were missed consider yourself now tagged. Ok bye y’all I’m gonna go cry about Hop
#mt's ramblings#tagged#music#pokémon#vocaloid#that's it that's my music taste#i mean also touhou but just not lately#heck this was a long one and it took me like two hours#it definitely shouldn't have but here we are

TRAINER’S EYE
Trainer: Team Plasma Leader Sage Ghetsis Harmonia Gropius
Location: Unknown, presumably Unova
Strategy: It's unfortunate that we must fight at all, wouldn't you say? The harder you hit them, the harder they'll hit others. Discipline is the most masterful teacher. N/A
Favorite Pokémon: All of them deserve better than we've given them. They'll all obey me in time. The bigger their appetite and the more difficult to train they were, the more I'd enjoy them when I was young. But they're all tools. They all leave. It hardly matters.
Trainer Message: Just you wait. Wherever it is you came from, however it is you got here. . .I suppose I appreciate the company.

That may be the definition of living, but I don't think that defines life. The experiences of joy and suffering are a vital part of being alive. Ghetsis gave me the sensation of being truly alive. . . What did he mean to accomplish? That isn't important."
What is this person like? / What does this person do? Ghetsis(Pkmn BW, Tubeline Bridge): "From his infancy, I provided [N] with the education required to become the hero of legend. Indeed, he has been so acknowledged by the legendary Pokémon. . . .Such purity of purpose is his."

Certainly, manipulating Pokémon helps people expand their possibilities. That much, I can agree with. So it naturally follows that only I should be able to use Pokémon!"
Favorite kind of Pokémon? Ghetsis(Pkmn B2W2, Plasma Frigate): "Kyurem is an empty being. The remnants of a certain Pokémon when it split into Reshiram and Zekrom. . . My desire is absolute rule of Unova! That's right! Kyurem will be the vessel into which my desires will be poured!"
Favorite kind of Pokémon? Ghetsis(Pkmn B2W2, Plasma Frigate): "What's this? Your Poké Balls are trembling. Could your Pokémon be trembling with rage? (slams cane) No! That's not possible! Simple tools don't have emotion or thought!"
Family and friends? Ryoku(Pkmn BW, Relic Castle): "I was planning to catch the Pokémon called Volcarona that lives in this relic castle and present it to Ghetsis. But the Shadow Triad said that Ghetsis has gone somewhere, right? The Seven Sages. . . We always said we were complete when the seven of us were together. Now I don't know the meaning of those words anymore. I guess I don't mind, even if we were being used"

And now. . .I believe I finally have the answer! My purpose. . . It is to travel between the worlds, freeing all Pokémon from foolish people. . . And at the same time, consolidate all the power in all the worlds to myself! "In order to achieve this beautiful ideal, however, I have need of a useful pawn. . . And that man, the leader of Team Rocket, is a man of pure evil! If I can make good use of him, and set him up as king, I shall be able to reign supreme above all existence!"

[...] "After saying you had to put your beliefs on the line and battle to see which one chosen by the legendary Pokémon was the true hero. . . You lost to an ordinary Trainer! There is such a thing as being too stupid! Add it up, and you are nothing more than a warped, defective boy who knows nothing but Pokémon. . . ."
What is this person like? Ghetsis(Pkmn BW, N's Castle): "a Pokémon, even if it's revered as a deity, is still just a Pokémon. [...] So what if [Reshiram] chose you! That doesn't mean you're a threat. Come on! Now you'll face ME in battle! I can't wait to see the look on your face when you've lost all hope! "I won't allow anyone to stop me! No matter who does what!"
What is this person like? Rood(Pkmn BW, Route 18): "When it comes to Ghetsis, I cannot separate the truths from the lies."
There’s a rumor… Ghetsis(Pkmn BW, N's Castle): "Now that the stage is set, we can seize people's minds and hearts. We can bring into being the world that I--no, that Team Plasma--desires more easily than you can imagine! We and only we will use Pokémon, and we shall rule the powerless populace! "I've been waiting so long for this! I've kept my silence so no one could piece together what I planned. Now, those painful days are at an end!"
What is this person like? Ghetsis(Pkmn B2W2, Giant Chasm): "Excellent! That was a moving expression of your determination! So the education I provided to make you king wasn't a complete waste, then! But I still haven't forgotten that even though I was kind enough to find you when you were living in the forest with Pokémon, and take you in, and care for you, in the end you were selfish and disrupted my plans. I was supposed to use your abilities to rule Unova! "But I'll forgive you for that as well."
What is this person like? Ghetsis(Pkmn B2W2, Giant Chasm): "You fool. . . Last time, I was going to use you to capture people's hearts and minds to rule them! But this time, I'm simply going to use overwhelming power and rule with an iron fist! Do you understand? If you had simply become king, Unova would have remained beautiful!"
What is this person like? / What does this person do? Ghetsis(Pkmn USUM, Episode RR): "This cannot be possible. . . I will not accept this! "Myah-ha-ha! No, no, no, no, no! You don't get it, do you? I can't be defeated! I won't be! IT. CANNOT. BE. ALLOWED! You, tiny intruder! If you value this girl's life, throw aside all your Poké Balls, at this moment!" (When obeyed): "Myah-ha-ha! Good, good. . . That's a good little [boy/girl/child]. Do as your elders command you! Victory only suits perfect leaders, after all. . . Such as myself!"
There’s a rumor… Rood(Pkmn B2W2, Giant Chasm): "Ghetsis's real plan was to take over the Unova region! Liberating Pokémon was nothing more than an excuse!"
There’s a rumor… Zinzolin(Pkmn B2W2, Undella Town, after reaching innermost chamber of Abyssal Ruins): "An extremely wonderful king was laid to rest in those ruins. If that king has descendants, maybe those special powers were passed down. . ."
Message from Ghetsis to [player] Ghetsis(Pkmn B2W2, Plasma Frigate): "That aside, this is my gift to you to show my respect for making it this far. I'll freeze you solid right here so you can watch my glorious ascent!"

2:31 All Drew wanted is to talk to May...
2:40 okay this isn't as creepy but Nroman is MERRIED.

11:23 Ever wondered why Bulbasour had hearts on it's head? Becuase contestshipping that's why
11:56 MASQUAIN (MASQURADE)
12:19 :')
12:33 No she is being impressed. Drew is happy :3 OH WAIT WTF FLIRTING HOW DID I MISS THAT "If you're studying my moves you should probably come closer..." wtf flirting (with people the same age! yay!)
12:45 Hey I forgot I can tag the post now
Something I find interesting about ContestShipping is the fact that two of Drew’s Pokemon are based off of the word masquerade: Roserade and, more importantly, Masquerain. The word is a noun meaning a cover-up, or a false show. What’s interesting is that Drew always says that the roses he gives May are for her Beautifly and not her. This is essentially a masquerade. And what’s more, we know that he caught Surskit to face May’s Beautifly. For all we know, he very well could have done this hoping that she might catch on without him having to lessen his pride and still be “cool”, i.e. not having to tell her himself. At the very least, it could be an implication from the writers.
there we go!
12:55 He is asking he she liked it.
13:01 He is happy that she liked it :3
13:18 Bulbasour show him that you have hearts on your forhead implicating that Contestshipping is canon!
13:33 Drew says things in his own way. He is seeing if she really thinks that Bulbasour is good enough so that she will train it more (also he wants to battle with her again)
wait a second BULBAPEDIA GOT ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS?
When she finds Drew practicing she watches from behind the bushes, until he tells her to come closer. Then they compliment each other on their new Pokémon.'
Eh not much but okay!
"Skips to when we see him again" woh oh oh oh (nvm i have when can I see you again stuck in my head) oh nvm we don't next episode!
#this was funny for me to review#drew#he needs help#cri#may and drew#drew x may#pokemon drew#may x drew#May#pokemon may

So apparently I haven’t put it here yet, here’s my take on why Charizard isn’t a Dragon type.
The Tl, r; is that Charizard, as not only a starter but one of the FIRST starters, would be broken as hell if it was a Dragon type, because Gen 1 was the first Pokemon game and had very few Dragons. More under the cut.
From Bulbapedia’s Dragon Type page, this chart shows that in Gen 1, Dragon Types were
Super Effective against: Dragon
Not Effective against: none
Receive half damage from: Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water moves.
The only Super Effective moves against Dragon Types were other Dragons, and Ice. This is Gen 1, remember: Steel and Fairy didn’t exist yet.
In Generation 1, there was a grand total of Three Dragon Pokemon - the Dragonite line.
Now Blastoise COULD learn (all of two) Ice-type moves, and there was a grand total of 5 Ice-Type/Subtype Pokemon in Gen 1, but the long and short of it is that Ice was in limited supply. (Notice the number of Ice moves on that same link - 6, only 4 of which do damage.)
There also was all of ONE Dragon-type move available, Dragon Rage.
The Elite Four have some Ice and Dragon on their side, but the long and short of it is that if Charizard was Fire/Dragon, with no other changes to the game, it would be close to unstoppable. And it’s a guaranteed option from the start (and available in Yellow fairly easily) so it would have been a game changer.
I suspect this also explains why they didn’t re-Type it before or leading up to FireRed and LeafGreen - A) because it would have become a guaranteed option again, and the Fire Subtype would have made Ice less than handy, and B) it already had two Types, so re-Typing it would have involved legitimately removing part of the existing structure - this isn’t Magenemite, which had an empty subType slot for Steel to slide into. Mega Forms and potential regional Forms (Alolan Charizard?) were probably the best option to handle this ancient grievance.

Pokemon of the Week #45 – Lycanroc
Hello Pokemon enthusiasts, I’m SumtimesIFly with an article on our Pokemon of the Week, Lycanroc. A ball of rocky energy during the day it is a truly loyal partner but that is a hard personality to keep up all the time and by evening this Pokemon is trapped deep in its feelings. It slows down and looks inwards shielding itself from others. I know that traditionally Lycanroc’s form is based on the world in which it evolves and is permanent, but as I mentioned in the Discord I think that the newly announced Dusk form should have transitioned between night and day based on time of instead of being a fusion. Without further ado, I choose you Lycanroc…no buddy stop playing fetch with that Bounsweet and get back here for some pictures!
National Dex #745 – Lycanrock
Description: The Wolf Pokemon Type: Rock Abilities: [Day: Keen Eye/Sand Rush] [Midnight: Keen Eye/Vital Spirit] Hidden Ability: [Day: Steadfast] [Midnight: No Guard] Competitive: [Smogon RU: Day Form] [Smogon NU: Midnight Form] [PokeaimMD Day Form] [PokeaimMD Midnight Form] Evolution: Rockruff -> Level 25 -> Lycanroc
One of these things is redder than the others, what is up with that color scheme. Looks cool though. Origin: Lycanroc is based on a wolf. Thanks to some Bulbapedia links I have learned that there used to be two subspecies of grey wolf in the Japanese archipelago that have since gone extinct, the Japanese Wolf and the Hokkaido Wolf. The Japanese Wolf is highly associated with mountains in Japanese culture as both are seen as dangerous so that might explain the rock typing. Personally I think that the Hokkaido Wolf looks a lot like Midnight form and the Japanese Wolf fits better with Day form. Of course, they have been extinct before cameras were invented so the comparisons are tough to make. Original Appearance: Pokemon Sun and Moon Dex Entry [Day: Moon]: When properly raised from a young age, it will become a trustworthy partner that will absolutely never betray its Trainer. Dex Entry [Midnight: Sun]: The more intimidating the opponent it faces, the more this Pokémon’s blood boils. It will attack with no regard for its own safety. Shiny:

Analysis:
Lycanroc in my opinion is the Pokemon that Sun and Moon handled the worst. It seemed like such a great companion to have early game from all the promotion they were doing, but in the game it was actually hard to come by Rockruff, especially if you didn’t look up where to find it. On top of that I played Moon and I didn’t really have the enthusiasm for Midnight Form to try chasing it down. I wish it were more like an Umbreon/Espeon style evolution. Hopefully, with the focus on Dusk Form in USUM they will make adjustments to when you can find Rockruff. All of this moaning and groaning is so I have an excuse for my limited knowledge of Lycanroc but hey that’s what these articles are for right? Learning new things about a Pokemon.
Last week we looked at Tyranitar, possibly the best Sand setter in the game. That ability is actually great synergy with the Day form Lycanroc and its ability Sand Rush. The other Day form abilities are not even worth mentioning here unfortunately. Midnight form is rocking No Guard as its strongest ability, mostly so that it can hit guaranteed with Stone Edge, but say good bye to those High Jump Kick misses (as some one who uses Hawlucha on every team, thank you!). If you aren’t running any low accuracy attacks then Vital Spirit is also a great ability, providing an Amoongus Spore or Ninetales Hypnosis immunity…or Relic Song Meloetta because they are in the same tier that’s how low we are. From a stat’s perspective Day form is more of a Sand Sweeper and Midnight form is a Wallbreaker or Rock setter.
Lycanroc’s movepool is really it’s weakest attribute. Each form has a signature move, Midnight has Counter and Day has Accelrock. Rock is a fantastic offensive typing so STAB Stone Edge is nothing to complain about. However, this is a one trick puppy since its coverage aside from that is Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Brick Break, and Crunch. Maybe if it had Strong Jaw this would be appealing but aside from No Guard boosting the Fang move accuracy it is really disappointing. By looking at this movepool you can see that pairing Lycanroc with a Fire type is very beneficial since it can take out both the Steel and Grass Pokemon that can wall Lycanroc. On the other hand this Pokemon’s utility moves are impressive since it is perfect for a suicide lead. Taunt, Stealth Rock, Swords Dance, Bulk Up, and Sucker Punch.
I am sorry this article might be dragging on but there are two forms this week and we are covering both! The best way to run the Day form is on a Sand team, and it is pretty much the only way to do it in OU. The speed boost puts it at the top of the Speed tier list and Swords Dance boosts its bite to be equal to its bark. Then you want to run Stone Edge and Accelrock for STAB and a coverage move. The most popular set for Midnight Form is as a Rock setter and Wallbreaker. It runs No Guard Stone Edge for a broken STAB attack, Sucker Punch for priority, and Swords Dance for the same reason Day form does. One difference is that it runs Stealth Rocks to keep all those who want to be close to it away. Its too emotional for friends, you don’t understand. The set runs Focus Sash I expect to give it a chance to set up rocks or SD. I think a neat alternative to this set should run Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Taunt, and Counter. The Taunt/Stealth Rock combo is legendary among leads since it prevents opponents rocks while you get yours up. On top of that you can combine Taunt/Counter/Focus Sash to get a KO when they are forced to attack you. If Midnight form isn’t fast enough you can replace it with Day form and use Accelrock instead of Counter.
My set this week will focus on the misunderstood Lycanroc, the lower tier Lycanroc, the Dark but not Dark Lycanroc. Its strength over Day form is the additional bulk so lets boost that by running Bulk Up instead of Swords Dance. If we are relying on bulk then we want to run Leftovers or a 50% heal Berry instead of Focus Sash. Since we are still slower than other offensive Pokemon we need to run Sucker Punch for priority. The final attack we will want to run is either coverage or Substitute depending on how it plays when you test it out. You will likely want to run EVs to improve your HP but the majority should go in Attack. The last thing to consider is the Speed you want to run for the tier you are in because it doesn’t need to be fast but there will be threats you want to be outspeed (Stone Edge targets instead of Sucker Punch). This is a low tier only set because it will get blown away in upper tiers and +1 Lycanroc can’t break through the defensive cores present in say OU. Let me know in the comments if you have any favourite Lycanroc sets or which form you prefer. I’m a Day Form man myself. Side note, we are now posting all articles to the subreddit so if you want a better comment forum feel free to do so there since I watch both threads.
Some wolves howl at the moon to communicate with their pack, others howl to confuse their prey, Lycanroc-Midnight howls at the moon because it is using Taunt. Until next time, SumtimesIFly
