Heyhey
First of all,
Much love to you. I know you've helped a lot of people and on behalf of everyone you've helped..a big thank you!
I found something on reddit and it made everything just click in an instant. I'll put it at the end. (for some reason I can't link it) I am sending this to you in the hope that this will really help some people who feel lost.
Sidenote: I know it's basically what you and other blogs has been preaching about, but this is rephrased differently and may help some people understand and truly apply (and stop overconsuming lol)
I CANT BELIEVE IT TOOK ME ALL THIS TIME TO FINALLY GET IT…  Tips & Techniques I’ve known about the Law of Assumption for almost four years, and now I finally get it. I always thought that when I closed my eyes to imagine something, it was my false self—let’s call her Ella—doing the imagining and experiencing the desire. But that’s not true. Ella only exists in the physical realm; she’s just another object in awareness. The one who’s really imagining is awareness itself—God, consciousness—the only thing that truly exists. Now I understand why imagination is immediate and real. It’s not Ella’s creation because she has no access to awareness. Ella’s role is confined to the 3D world. Her job is to make sense of life through logic, past experiences, and sensory input. So, when I imagine something, Ella can’t “see” it because imagination operates in the realm of awareness, not the physical. This is why thoughts like “Where is it?” or “It’s not working” arise—they’re just Ella panicking because she didn’t witness the creation happen. Ella is fixated on time and the physical world, so she doubts anything beyond her perception. But her panic doesn’t mean anything because she’s not the one imagining. She’s not capable of understanding or influencing what exists in awareness. This realization leaves no excuse not to trust my imagination. Imagination is beyond Ella’s capabilities, and its reality is not dependent on her understanding. This isn’t an invitation to hate or fight Ella—it’s about recognizing her limitations and letting her be. When I notice my mind being logical or thinking doubtful thoughts, I can let them pass because that’s just Ella doing her job. There’s no need to argue with or control her because it’s like bullying a blind person for not being able to see. She simply can’t perceive what’s happening in awareness, and that’s okay. Let her do her thing, knowing it doesn’t matter. The real work is already done in imagination, which is the realm of the infinite.
Someone answered:
Yup, Ella is herself a manifestation of consciousness and there is only consciousness. We think we are Ella, when we are consciousness, perceiving things through Ella's perspective. Good job. And that's exactly why manifestation is instant, the moment awareness becomes aware of something through your imagination, it happens. Because everything is awareness. You already are living that reality from the moment you imagined it. Ella will keep thinking. You need to not react to those thoughts or feelings of Ella, observe them, take care of Ella when she feels down but laugh a little at her naivety. Most people imagine and forget that they're not Ella but consciousness and become aware of something else by giving attention to Ella's limited perspective but guess what? Ella is a well behaved child, she will learn as soon as you discipline her. Her thoughts would slowly get on board too and so will the feelings. So let Ella be, don't react to her thoughts and emotions and become aware of something that's not what you want
People need to read this!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!

Timeline of the last 12 months 15 months of the Good Omens fandom.
July 2023 - Good Omens season 2 drops. Fans watch on the presumption this season is based on the sequel idea Terry and NG spoke of in the 90’s and 2006. Reactions are mixed but mostly positive. We’re happy with fluff. Initial thoughts: “I don’t see how this story could have been fleshed out into an entire novel, but I guess it was only ever just initial ideas, so I suppose that works.”
July 2023 - THE KISS.
Fandom reaction: NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
August 2023 - NG responds to fandom
NG: “Season 2 isn’t actually based on the idea Terry and I spoke about.”
Fandom: “What?”
NG: “Season 2 is just a bridging story to get us to season 3. That will be the story that Terry and I discussed.”
Fandom: “What!?”
NG: “Season 3 hasn’t been greenlit by Prime yet so we might not get it.”
Fandom: “WHAT?!”
NG: “Also I wrote the kiss that way by giving the fandom what you want without actually giving you what you want. So like, stop asking me for things or I won’t write them.”
Fandom: “AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!”
August to November 2023 - The fandom, now lost and depressed, mope through the halls of Tumblr and Reddit, desperately clinging to any piece of information dropped by NG, sharing fan art, creating headcanons and theories, and writing the angstiest of angst fanfiction ever written. Some weep in a corner mumbling about the South Downs. Most just trudge through their daily lives, listless and despondent.
December 2023 - Prime greenlights Good Omens Season 3.
Fandom: YES! OMG HOORAY! WAHOO! Dancing in the streets. Fanfiction turns to fluff and smut. NG is active and happy, answering many questions without actually answering them. Gives us the hilarious gift of Dottie and Sadie.
January 2024 - speculation of when season 3 filming will begin commences. Realisation that it could be quite a while starts to sink in. Actors and writers strike has caused delay to the scripts being written. David and Michael have taken on theatre work which will delay their filming schedules. Douglas McKinnon announces he’s stepping away as director. Fandom has slight freak out, but NG reassures everyone it’s nothing to worry about, and linked to the recent strikes.
Early to mid 2024 - “The invisible and unbreakable line that joins Crowley and Aziraphale”.
Fandom: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! We inevitably become even more feral. Much fanart is made.
March 2024 - David hosts the BAFTAs and Michael helps him during the opening. David is then nominated for TV BAFTA for Good Omens.
Fandom: OMG YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!! Much dancing and celebration is had once again. We are so in love.
May 2024 - filming schedule for GO season 3 is announced. It will commence January 2025. The fandom reacts.
Fandom: “That’s still so long away!” “Michael and David will have their hair dyed white and red for the awards season!” “Going by the previous production schedule this means season 3 won’t reach our screen until 2026! No!” “Cannot wait for this to start filming we are going to be so feral!” More fanfiction, more fanart.
June 2024 - David hosts Pub in the Park. Michael joins him.
Fandom: THEY ARE SO CUTE! HOW CAN THEY BE THIS CUTE, WE DON’T DESERVE THEM.
Early July 2024 - horrible allegations are laid against NG and the fandom comes to a terrible crashing halt. Much debate and discussion is had back and forth: “Believe the victims”. “Separate the art from the artist”. “Drop the fandom entirely”. “Step back for a moment”. There is a lot of arguing, but there is also still a lot of love. NG has fled all social media.
Late July 2024 - until it’s January, and the show actually starts filming, Good Omens season 3 has now become Schrödinger’s Series. It both now exists and doesn’t exist. Prime at any moment may pull the production due to the backlash against NG. The fandom now re-examines McKinnon’s departure speculating if he left for other reasons. We once again despondently trudge the halls of tumblr and Reddit feeling the same feeling of this time last year.
This section of the post was made in late July was this was original posted: And that pretty much brings us up to date. Anything could happen in the next six months, which is why I feel we’re all worried. It’s why I’m worried. So instead, keep sharing the art, keep writing the fanfiction, keep speculating with theories and headcanons. Let’s be here for each other. Because we created this fandom for each other. It doesn’t belong to NG anymore. Let’s do this for Terry. Personally, I can’t wait to come back to this timeline and add January 2025 - filming begins.
28 July 2024 - Michael Sheen, the absolute angel that he is posts a picture of his tartan socks clad feet alongside the caption “To our world”. Such a beautiful, beautiful man!
10 September 2024 - Amazon Prime announces production for season 3 is paused. Everyone loses their shit. There is much lamentations.
Unsubstantiated posts start circulating that the show is cancelled. People who have a friend whose cousin’s gardener’s former roommate claim they are involved with the production and therefore they KNOW the show is cancelled. More lamentations.
Amazon stays silent for EIGHT. FUCKING. WEEKS.
The fandom walk around in a god damn haze again akin to what August to December 2023 felt like. Will we be left with the final 15 forever?
Mid October 2024 - for about 3 days straight the fandom receives information that is akin to a rollercoaster of emotion. Head graphics designer Mickey tweets out a now deleted post that everyone is going back to Scotland. Then Peter Anderson Studio tweet out a now deleted post referencing the South Downs cottage. Then random casting company updates their subscription website advertising Good Omens: The Finale a TV movie. Entertainment website releases an article referencing this. The fandom LOSE. THEIR. SHIT. AGAIN. We honestly can’t take much more of this.
25 October 2024 - Amazon finally announces the news we’ve been half expecting half dreading with positive and negative ramifications. Neil Gaiman is gone. GOOD! Season 3 will still happen. GOOD! But now it’s just a 90 minutes finale. WAIT, WHAT, NO! But it could have been worse. It was a hairs breath away from being completely cancelled. GOD BLESS RHIANNA PRATCHETT AND ROB WILKINS.
It’s been a wild ride everyone. I’ve already posted earlier this morning (25 October 2024) my thoughts about the whole situation so go read that there. But for now? Gaiman is gone, and we get our ending.
For now here’s to seeing our boys with their red and white hair again.

mini 70s fashion resource masterlist
I'm working on bigger projects (that might never see the light of day because I can't figure out formatting, links and other stuff) but I wanted to provide some sources for those interested in fashion, specifically for writing 70s fashion in fics and books.
I love 70s fashion and it hurts my heart to see so many characters in bell bottoms, bright colors, converse and leather when those weren’t even the biggest parts! I like to use pictures from real people and their lives, as well as magazines. I like to stay away from the costume style that’s often portrayed in movies.
these are sorted from my favorite to least favorite
Reddit- Yeah yeah I know it’s reddit, but there are so many good resources!
r/TheWayWeWere is MY FAVE!!!! It’s literally random people’s pictures from any era! Their focus is on people in everyday life, so it’s perfect. Go to this subreddit, type your desired era or use the flair and you have hundreds of real life pictures from real life people in your desired era.
r/70s is a lot, it’s everything 70s so you get some good stuff and some bad stuff, but it’s authentic for sure
r/vintagefashion and r/vintage a lot of this is really good, but some can get gimmicky, overall they are good resources
r/TheGoodOldDays hit or miss but it’s okay
r/fashion and r/mensfashion hard to sort through, a lot of the advice tends to be a little gimmicky
Sewing Patterns- A lot of people sewed their own clothes in the 70s
Readily available, easy to find, with the variety you can find super popular stuff and less popular stuff
Simplicity Sewing Pattern, Vintage Sewing Pattern Company, Vintage Sewing Patterns Wiki, there’s SO MANY websites out there
Magazine articles from the 70s- this is the advice a lot of people followed so it’s good for me!
A big big reason for this being second is that it’s a bit inaccessible, I haven’t had much luck but I am not the most technologically advanced individual
The best way to view these is at a library that has them archived on microfilm, if you have a good, large library near you then you might be in luck
There are some archived and digitized online, but they are mostly behind a paywall or incomplete pieces.
Large magazines have vaults, like TIME and Vogue, but some they can be a representation of the upper class and the very rich which isn’t the target of most authors
Movies/shows from the 70s- ehhh pretty hit or miss. movies from the 70s tend to be a pretty idealistic representation of what people were wearing. it HEAVILY depends of what kind of show
Movies set in the 70s- this is a super broad one so some are great! some are bad! i would suggest looking at other sources, at least for a while, once you notice the trends then you can notice what’s realistic and what isn’t.

Saw a thing that made me think of you for some reason. Gonna paste the entire reddit post here rather than link it, because you need to read in real time for the funny:
"My (31M) wife (32F) and I are in a healthy and happy relationship. That said, we’ve been together since high school, so we both feel that we missed out a little by being each others’ only sexual experiences. We’ve talked about this at length and decided a few years ago that we’re ok with having a few hall passes in our relationship, since we very much intend to stay together the rest of our lives and don’t want any resentment over missed possibilites. Plus it’s pretty rare that we could even find such an opportunity, as it’s a little hard to find hookups when you’re in a committed marriage and don’t go out much. We even gave each other advance approval in case a situation arises, so long as we’re safe about it and tell each other immediately afterward. We’ve both used one HP, each with someone we knew well enough but would never see again, and no issues came out of it. In fact, it’s only made us more secure in our relationship and how much we genuinely appreciate being with each other.
Recently, I had to travel to London for work. I don’t normally get to travel for work, so I decided to make a trip out of it and spend a few extra days of my own time in the city after the project was done. My wife couldn’t join because she didn’t have any vacation time left but was very supportive of me taking some time to explore since I’ve never been to London and she has. Being cheap, and being a pretty outgoing guy when I’m so inclined, I decided to stay in a hostel. I was interested in meeting other travelers since I didn’t know anyone in the city and love being sociable with new people. I chatted with several of the people staying there, and in particular a very attractive French girl (mid-20’s) who dressed super goth.
For context, I love the goth girl look. I’ve been sucked into the goth gf propaganda online, much to the annoyance of my wife. It isn’t her style, but she has been nice enough to cater to me by putting on a sexy goth outfit on occasion, since she’s knows it’s a huge fantasy of mine. Still, I pester her constantly to be more goth because I enjoy it so much.
Anyway, I ended up spending a little bit of time with goth French baddie - we both went to the hostel’s happy hour event and hit it off there. I found out that she was recently single and was in London for an art show. It turned out we were both into emo music, and we talked about our favorite bands. I had the thought that she was acting a bit flirty towards me, but didn’t think too much of it, until I later found myself sharing a sink with her in the hostel bathroom.
The hostel was co-ed, so each floor had a small shared bathroom with a communal sink, and a door that was meant to be kept open but which people frequently closed for the sake of having more privacy than just a stall to shower in. So I’m brushing my teeth while chatting up the real-life version of Shadowheart (who, mind you, is wearing an extremely low cut top), when she suddenly closes the bathroom door behind us. In my mind, my wildest fantasy is about to come true. It’s even more exciting because of the adrenaline rush of being in a semi-public setting, and a girl being so into me that she would make such a bold move. I can’t believe this is actually happening to me. I instantly get hard. Then she turns around and asks “Are you interested in learning about our lord and savior Jesus Christ?”
She had me cornered for 10 minutes trying to talk me into salvation, while I grew increasingly despondent and immensely disappointed, with the whiplash of going from what could’ve been one of the crowning moments of my life, to pure and utter dejection.
When I told my wife this story, she laughed for a solid hour. She said it’s karma for annoying her about wanting a goth gf.
TL;DR life dream was to bang a hot goth girl. Thought I was getting the opportunity, but got cockblocked by Jesus Christ. god is real and he hates me."
The fucking mood whiplash. I was reading this nodding along like okay yeah I guess that could be us in like 10 or 15 years, who knows, neither me nor my girl are the jealous type or anything, and then it fucking struck. The christians have weaponized goth girls. Fucking lost it laughing, it's been a rough 24 hours, thank you.

@egalitarianchica sent me the links to this post and on Instagram
So this wife was posting on the relationship advice sub on reddit because she was upset with how her husband had taken her ‘joke.’ She went on to say in the original post how he’d complimented another co-worker’s lunch (which the co-workers wife packed for him). She thought it was disrespectful because she (OP) packs her husband’s lunch. He tried asking why it was disrespectful but stopped and they went to bed. The next day she was packing his lunch and decided to be petty so this would teach him to appreciate her lunches more. She packed him a clean diaper in his lunch (but made it appear as if it were full). She also says she didn’t fully do it out of anger.
Well it seems that i messed up majorly because hes extremely cold, first thing he asked when he came back from work was "do you feel avenged? You satisfied now? Laugh, go on" and went to play with our daughter. He responds if I ask him something but doesnt look at me let alone touch me. This morning when I was making breakfast i went to pack his lunch and he took it from me and told me hed rather starve than take anything I made again.
Hes not responding to texts (like have a good day texts I usually send him) and I just feel very down and I know it was petty but isnt he taking it a bit too hard?
There’s a bit of clarification in the comments. A lot of people were wondering what he said to make her upset and she said that they were just talking about lunches in general and he said that his co-workers lunch looked beautiful but hard to eat (his co-worker has a bento box and apparently there was a lot of food in it). She added that she didn’t pack any food in his lunch, just the diaper.
Some people were upset because she’s packing his lunch and wondering why a grown man can’t do it himself. That really isn’t the point. There’s nothing with (in this case) a wife packing her husband's lunch. It’s one thing if she was forced to or he wasn’t being appreciative, but that isn’t the case. She even said that she doesn’t mind doing it; she’s on maternity leave and she’s already making breakfast at that time anyway. Normally, she said, he does do it himself. He meal preps and packs it.
She went on to blame her post partum hormones for this, because she wasn’t upset when she woke up, just when she remembered it as she was doing his lunch.
What baffled me was seeing so many people who think they’re both at fault here. Her for obvious reasons and him for his reaction. Some said that he reacted immaturely and should have just laughed off the joke.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is allowed to be upset. Now if he continues to just ignore her then that would be a problem. But I don’t understand why other people are acting like he’s in the wrong. How would you feel if your S/O embarrassed you for no reason?
Let’s go over the facts again:
- He made an innocent comment. He did not try to make her feel guilty for the lunches she provided nor did he demand that she do better. It was nowhere near disrespectful
- He was most likely embarrassed. Someone at his work probably saw the diaper
- He might not have been able to eat for a certain period of time. She doesn’t mention if he bought food or not so we don’t know
- She doesn’t fully take accountability. I wasn’t even sure she felt remorseful. It doesn’t sound like it in the original post. Not until I read one of her comments where she’s expressing frustration at how many people are focusing on her making his lunch and she says she wants to fix this. Furthermore, the blame can’t lie solely on her hormones. Hormones aren’t an excuse. Yes, they can contribute to things but that still means you have to take accountability for what you do and say

💝what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?
🤍what's one fic of yours you think people didn't "get"?
You sent this twice, anon, so I’m gonna answer the first question now, as I’ve been thinking on it, and the second later.
And hey TW: mentions of pregnancy loss.
I don’t know that I ever have an expectation when I publish a fic. I don’t write the tent pole stuff people really like. Like half of what I do is genfic and most of it is so far down my own personal rabbit hole I’m happy anyone responds at all. I’m not writing chapters of ZeLink batting their eyes at each other. I also think I tend to muse about stuff the average fanfic reader isn’t interested in, and that’s fine, it’s not meant as a put down. There are days I just want my pairing/specific trope too, and frankly, that’s most of them.
So when I’m not being an insane/insecure person about my writing (which I keep wanting to say I’m beyond, but it never quite seems to be true) I do think I can keep a good boundary around what I secretly hope a fic will do.
Last year, at about this time,I was, for some reason, mulling over the bit of my own version of Zelda’s backstory that includes a miscarriage. It is sort of obliquely mentioned once or twice if you have read absolutely everything in the Faroreverse but the bullshit Zelda deals with in her 30s has never been something I’ve published about. I’ve written a lot but none of its cohesive enough to even call a draft. I must have had friends who were on social media mourning children they did not have, all full of deep sadness and what if and potential that never got to be and maybe this kicked me over.
I’ve never been pregnant. I never will be. But I shepherd people through very sad and tragic things almost every day I’m at work. I had one of these sad things coming up on an anniversary and although Maple was not my dog, and I only met her people that one day, it was such a horrible a awful day, and that might have been on my mind too.
So I very carefully wrote The Risk of Love where an older Zelda shares the loss of her daughter who would have been sixteen the day Link pulled the sword if she’d survived with Link and let him deal with it. He has had a lot of time to learn to be an emotionally mature person by the time this fic happens in his story and I’m very pleased by how he has learned to lean and give support.
I really did not think anyone was going to read a short sad story about a lost pregnancy retold by a middle aged woman. The surprise was the people who did read it. I had people fandom blind read and and tell me how they hurt for Zelda. One woman on Reddit who read just a snip messaged me to tell me about her own loss.
I really, really love how this fic came out. It’s one of those things that wasn’t FOR something and I feel I do my best work there. The fact that it resonated the way it did was the pleasant surprise.

Fic Author Self-Rec
Share five of your personal favorite works, then tag five authors to do the same. Thank you to @bg-sparrow for tagging me!
1. “Their Song Is Almost Over” (Doctor Who)
Twelve remembered her eventually: Clara Oswald, the woman for whom he nearly burnt the universe. They got their happily ever after. But even the Doctor won't live forever. After thousands and thousands of years, the Doctor’s life comes to its natural end on Earth. This is the story of his passing, and that of Clara Oswald, who was at his side.
This was the first story I ever posted to AO3, I wrote it in a single sitting, it’s epic in scope, it gives a ship that got an at-best bittersweet ending in canon a gloriously happy ending, and I swear it seems to be one of my least popular works! (Seriously, my most popular work has eight times as many hits, and I feel like it’s so half-assed by comparison!)
2. Loose Ends and Loose Memories (Back to the Future)
Upon returning to 1985, Marty McFly finds that he has two sets of memories in his head. While struggling to figure out which set is "right," he finds that someone else remembers his visit to 1955.
I posted three BTTF fics to FF.net years before this one, but I was younger and I feel like this one was such an improvement! I’d grown so much as a writer in the interim. And it’s the first in a series of fics involving events after Part III. Now, as of right now, there are only three fics there, but I have plans. I’ve always wanted to do a series like Kristen Sheley did, and this was a new (and I think, much better) attempt than the one on FF.net
3. “That Isn’t Our Song!” (Doctor Who)
At St. Luke's Bristol, Clara and the Doctor have a musical prank war.
I get few comments on this one, but it’s so silly and I just love it so much. It's an AU of the in-between of Series 9 and Series 10, where immortal!Clara stayed with Twelve and they get up to Shenanigans™ while working “undercover” at St. Luke's University Bristol.
4. “Moving Day” (Back to the Future)
Marty and Jennifer move in together.
When I posted this, it had been two years since I’d written any fics, and five since I’d done a BTTF fic! I’d been stuck trying to finish two different BTTF fics (still am), but when I came up for the idea for this one I was able to break through my total writing block! (For a while anyway; it was a year again before I returned to fic-writing.) Still, I really like this one. Perhaps especially because it focuses a lot on Jennifer, who’s such an enigma in canon.
5. “r/ThePinheads: Guys, Marty McFLy really *is* a time traveller!!!” (Back to the Future)
Did you know that it's a meme that the lead guitarist and vocalist for the rock band The Pinheads, Marty McFly, is a time traveler? Well, some guy on the Pinheads subreddit thinks he's found definitive proof...
This is quite a departure: it’s a fake Reddit page. I’m taking an HTML coding class right now, and it gave me the idea to create an in-universe one. The second “chapter” is a screenshot of the actual page I made! There are a lot of easter eggs in it!
Honorable mention: “I Need You, Now More Than Ever” (Doctor Who).
Escaping a planet after a “date” where everything went horribly wrong, the Doctor and Clara find comfort in each other.
It’s NSFW, and I’m worried about community rules and whatnot so I won’t link directly. It’s also the very first NSFW piece I ever did. And it sat on my harddrive for four years for a single reason: I couldn’t think of a title! I was thinking of it recently when the title came to me suddenly and I had to post it immediately!
I'm tagging @universe-on-her-shoulders, @clara-is-brave, @daryfromthefuture, @bttf-dork, and @cosmicallyavg!

Hey y’all.
I dont talk about my life on Tumblr, usually for good reason.
Unfortunately, I have become homeless and been put into a position where I have to ask for help. I have always been uncomfortable asking for help.
My mom kicked me out in the middle of the night Friday night. I have some resources available to me but my focus right now is on the fact that I have no money.
And thats where this comes into play.
I put the full story in the linked Reddit post, which I have copied and pasted at the bottom of this post.
My GoFundMe link is here:
The post:
I got kicked out and I have nothing. What should I do, where should I start?
Note: I do have a job. I apologize for not mentioning that in here, I thought I had.
I’m eighteen years old, finishing my senior year in high school. My mother kicked me out at midnight in the freezing cold where I walked to a friend’s house to stay there for the night. Now it’s the next morning and besides going to work today, what the hell do I do? Do I file for some sort of government assistance? Is there anything I can do to help my situation? I live in Virginia Beach.
**Update for details**
I do have somewhere to stay, I don’t have 100% guaranteed transportation but I have enough where I’ll need it. I think I should start a gofundme or something. I literally left in the freezing cold at the middle of the night with two trash bags, a small duffel bag, and a little cardboard box of very sentimental items I didn’t trust my mom to let me go get, as well as all of $1.10 in my bank account.
Thank you all for your advice. I have contacted my guidance counselor and started looking into the Senton Youth Services.
***Update #2: Why I got kicked out & my gofundme***
My mom has mental health issues she refuses to speak to a professional about. This isn’t the first time she’s tried to make me leave. She can never accept when she has done something wrong and will explode if someone says she has. (tw for this bit) I am in very rocky ED recovery and my sister consistently jokes and does everything she can to make me hurt over my body, even though she saw me when I was so thin you could count all of my bones. My mother got on me because I told the sister that wasn’t okay, that she knew those things bother me and she specifically said it to hurt me deeply. This sister just so happens to be mother’s pride and joy, the infamous golden child who does no wrong.
Now I’m here, laying on my friends floor typing this. I set up a GoFundMe for this if anyone is interested.

Listen honestly y’all are all overthinking this bullshit vit k2 has been medically proven to increase bone density and growth and in combination with d3 it helps supplement absorption, the bones on our faces react and respond the same as the bones on our body now obviously you can’t drastically morph your jaw structure instantly but k2 makes your already existing bone structure denser and giving you a way more defined and thicker jaw and cheekbone structure because the k2 calcium supplementation and as all of you know the more calcium your bones absorb the more growth and dense they will become and the same applies with the less calcium you intake your bones will become weak and not grow properly as far as height growth in full grown adults It won’t change much it only helps height growth in kids and teens but everybody is different and as far as thickness and size YES it will work excellently even in the face all it does is give a thicker and enhanced look to your jawline and cheekbones and promotes growth ,looks vary person to person. If your mewing and doing all that facial improvement stuff this will help your forward and structural growth potential due to the extra calcium absorption help definitely benefit and help the process depends on how your body respond and where your at structurally and what your doing for your face. Now YES I take this I’m an athlete this shit is essential and its beneficial in a lot of ways I just turned 20 and I’m a guy my body’s hasn’t reached its full growth potential cause I’m still growing in height for some reason and my facial structure is pretty nice but it’s still developing I’m not even in my prime yet but every person’s body is different results vary and it’s all on how active you are physically cause that the main thing that helps with this and also how your body responds to the supplementation. This stuff works well for me otherwise if it didn’t I wouldn’t be wasting my damn time typing all this, no matter what type of things you take there’s always gonna be studies on how it’s effective and and how it’s not as effective it all falls on if you tried it and what did YOU notice or experience your not gonna get anywhere if u just go based off of what everyone thinks try it and be the judge, Now for the people that are saying this flat out does not work or is just hype and linking your little burner articles Sincerely Stop being a Dickhead and try the shit out for yourself if you have never tried this out your opinion or reasoning does not fucking matter at all it’s shit I don’t give a fuck if theres limited research and anecdotal claims mothafucka actually try the damn thing and be the Judge then you can go talk your shit and if you aren’t satisfied then that’s your right but if you’ve never even touched it let alone even used it for a good amount of time do not speak anything on it or link some bullshit cause y’all just look tenacious as fuck going off of burner articles grow a dick and try it RESPECTFULLY, and for all my women reading this don’t worry beautiful k2 will benefit you this isn’t really directed towards y’all. And for anybody hesitant in doing this don’t worry this won’t hurt you in trying some people respond better like me and some may not respond as good but it still works this also applies to mewing and things of that nature etc don’t go off of peoples opinions and articles as long as there’s no crazy risk stated for whatever you wanna try take the Leap and do it ,don’t limit yourself and ur potential cause someone that’s never done it has links or from someone’s opinion this applies for me too to some extent. Have a nice day .

Radical view: Harrys the more creative one by u/Mickleborough
Radical view: Harry’s the more creative one Looking at the recent revelation of Harry’s ideas for documentaries and podcasts, it seems to me that he actually had quite good ones.Putting aside an instinctive hate for Harry, let’s look at them.- The misinformation project: a documentary about misinformation, presumably by the media to the public. If the basic tenets of journalism were followed, it potentially could be quite interesting: Who does misinformation - it’s not just the press. Why do they do this - it’s not just to sell papers; governments can be toppled. Where does this happen? When has this taken place - hint: thousands of years. Why - the reasons are myriad. How - from town square gossip, to newspapers, to social media.- A podcast on veterans: I’ve heard it described as talks with Invictus participants and how they haven’t allowed their physical limitations to stop them. This can be inspiring and important to people in similar situations.- A podcast about someone new to living in America. Fish-out-of-water shows aren’t original, but can be entertaining - say Paris Hilton’s The Simple Life or the 2015-20 sitcom Fresh off the Boat. This concept might be tied in with the report of possibly co-hosting a show with the comedian Hasan Minhaj, a first-generation American of Indian descent.- Interviewing famous people about their upbringing and childhood, and how they became who they are today. Suggested guests include Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Mark Zuckerberg. A bit ambitious, but if he could pull it off - who wouldn’t tune in to listen to Putin saying that, as a child, all he wanted was a teddy bear? And let’s face it - these people more likely would come out for Harry than for Meghan.- A show centred around fatherhood. Not original, but relatable. Presumably Harry would focus on being a ‘girl dad’, so that could provide some insights.- A podcast where each episode‘s about societal changes, including climate change and religion - say with the Pope. [What about the head of the Church of England? Asking for a friend.] Climate change is of course topical and divisive. And religion affects more people than one assumes, perhaps. And what did we get from Meghan? A series ‘where we investigate, dissect, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back’. Er, hasn’t female opportunities been addressed? Affirmative action, quotas, legislation - women may be being held back today, but I’d say it’s not by labels. The failure of Harry’s grand plans was due to the devil in the detail. Was it Tom Bower or Valentine Low who mentioned this sort of behaviour when they were working royals? Something along the lines of coming up with impossible notions; expecting instant implementation (by other, natch); and being annoyed when it was explained to them why their ideas were impractical. Nothing’s changed then, not even when they had to take responsibility. They couldn’t even determine something as basic the format of the misinformation project - a documentary? a mini-series? There’s the added problem that they‘d make it all about themselves. As the aural soporific podcasts by Meghan have shown, they’re not that interesting. They could’ve been - Paris Hilton‘s all about her: the difference is that she makes fun of herself. And lastly - there’s a skill to be a good interviewer, starting with curiosity and an interest in people. I think Harry would be better equipped - he seems to interact well with people - whereas Meghan isn’t interested in anyone. [‘Enough about me. Let’s talk about you. What do you think of me?’]Sources:Daily Mail archived / unarchivedWall Street Journal archived post link: https://ift.tt/xOpPq6K author: Mickleborough submitted: June 28, 2023 at 06:06PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

The thing with Izuku is that the initial motiviation could work if it really got challenged and shown as childish and flawed. The whole story is about the society being comodified into literal hero warship, so Izukus development could be realising how his dream of saving people to feel like a hero is kinda selfish in the way that it doesnt ask why there must exist a class that can save and a class of victims, especially when everybody has powers they could develope, even the quirkless
I’m going to respond to all of the My Hero Academia asks in this one post.
So let’s respond to the first one above.
It is challenged, but yeah, not really.
It is shown to be flawed, but solutions are slow to appear.
We’re waiting for the manga’s conclusion to address those solutions (or, read Vigilantes, it kind of responds to some of these problems).
It isn’t quite childish to me, even if I get that merchandising these real-life Pro Heroes is eccentric.
In fact, something about this just came up in Reddit recently. (Too bad I misplaced the link to that post. =_=; )
Just because it’s selfish for Izuku to want to be a hero doesn’t mean that such selfishness is a bad thing. The story does a good job of mostly avoiding this black and white thinking. Yes, Ochaco, Mount Lady, and Uwabami want money--but all of them were still doing heroics, Ochaco is not greedy, Mount Lady does change, and nothing showed Uwabami was bad at her hero work. Yes, there are hero dynasties, including the Iida and Todoroki families, but that doesn’t take away from good work Tenya, Tensei, and Shoto have done. I thought the story did well enough acknowledging that even the most heroic person can have selfish reasons behind their good deeds. Unfortunately, that also means acknowledging that even some real scumbags like Endeavor may have done some good or had some good intentions--because the wife beating, the child torturing, the eugenics, the wife buying, and all of that undermines any good he has done.
Maybe there is justified frustration that the one who really opposes this selfishness is Stain, so it becomes easy to discount any of this criticism by saying, “You sound like Stain”--except even Iida admits Stain was correct on some points, but wrong on a lot of other points, especially the solutions he had (maiming and murdering).
This hasn’t felt like a series that wants to interrogate the problems of commodifying these heroes. I don’t know whether I can find a real world analogue to the merchandising of these heroes within their own story, as we don’t quite have the same thing in our world right now. But this is a franchise that wants to sell merchandise, so that’s why we don’t see serious interrogation into Izuku’s All Might merchandise collection, that Endeavor has dolls and masks, that Uwabami is in it for the ad campaigns. The closest we get to criticizing merchandising is how Hawks gets the Endeavor doll because it’s cheaper, how that shows Endeavor’s worth is not tied into his good deeds but his appeal to get an audience to cheer for him.
But this is still a franchise where someone like me buys the video games and plays at these characters: how do I separate knowing how shitty Endeavor, All For One, and others are, then using them when playing online?
I do push back a bit against the idea that Izuku doesn’t realize some of these problems. I just don’t think the answers he comes to are as good as they could be.
Bakugo’s abusive behavior is an indictment against Quirk society that is obvious to Izuku. All Might’s absence and the gap it leaves is an indictment against Pro Hero society that is obvious to Izuku. Aizawa’s sink-or-swim approach is an indictment against both Quirk society and Pro Hero society that is obvious to Izuku. Endeavor’s abuse of his children including Shoto and Dabi is an indictment against Quirk society and Pro Hero society that is obvious to Izuku. Kota losing his parents, and facing relatives and family friends and aspiring Pro Heroes saying he should be happy his parents were willing to die to protect others, is an indictment against a society that keeps privileging big acts of heroism over the responsibilities of individual people and an acknowledgment that Kota is living after trauma. Gentle becomes a harmless “villain” because Pro Hero society didn’t see a reason to direct his skills for good, and no teacher, not without some fault applied to Gentle, was able to make him understand that theatrics and fame should not be his goals for heroism, another indictment against Pro Hero society that is obvious to Izuku. Hawks’s and Nagant’s actions are indictments against the lie of Pro Hero society that should be obvious to Izuku.
And it’s not that any of this is not obvious to Izuku. He speaks up about most of it, or hears people speak up against it or interrogate it. He narrates to us that Bakugo’s abuse shows that people are not created equal. He sees that without All Might he and other Pro Heroes have to rise to the occasion to make up for his absence. He works harder and smarter to meet Aizawa’s expectations. He tries to teach Shoto that he can use his fire Quirk without becoming Endeavor. He makes himself an example to Kota that the point of heroism isn’t to be so powerful, it’s to take action whenever you can to help others. He sees that, without the experiences he had before, he would have become Gentle, and still could become like him, so he better not forget this lesson. He…says some stuff at Nagant? I don’t know, that story fell apart on me.
I think you’re saying that Izuku doesn’t ask why there are classes of people, some who can be saved and some who are stuck as victims. I disagree. The very beginning of this manga was Izuku insisting he can save everyone--even if he fails right now. I think the story shows Izuku wanting to create a world where there don’t have to be victims--however naive that may be. He wants to save even Shigaraki. That’s noble, but as it is an ideal, which means it’s not realistic. Having that work in fiction should be enough: it doesn’t have to be realistic. But within the rules of this series, it’s not believable. I think the problem is a lack of more awareness on Izuku’s part that he can’t save everyone. Ochaco seems to carry more of this weight, as she is the one who has to speak to the audience that Nighteye could not be saved, she’s the one who sees the victims from the first war and how many are injured or possibly dead, and she may end this series realizing that Toga can’t be saved, either.
Now, onto the second question:
Like the problem with Deku is that even when it seems his ideology gets challanged, he never "loses", never really gets proven wrong - there were many opportunies - like the fact that he really only wanted to be a hero in the way society showed him and got depressed at the mere suggestion that he could be a fire fighter or something (also funny firefighter getting dismissed in the context of FF), more examples but charachter limit
Nighteye dying should have challenged him, should have been a loss. But instead it was presented that, if Eri wasn’t saved, then Izuku lost. Even Mirio losing his Quirk was not treated as that loss. Izuku expresses that regret that his actions led to Nighteye’s death and Mirio’s lost Quirk, and he tries to make amends by offering to give up One For All to Mirio--but Mirio refuses. I don’t get a sense that Izuku carries this weight, of Nighteye’s death and Mirio’s lost Quirk, as loses; he rebounds, he rationalizes that Eri may restore Mirio’s Quirk, Nighteye died as peacefully as possible and died having saved someone. I think if you had a revision to this story to show Nighteye’s death was still bothering Izuku, then something could feel like a loss. Honestly, it should be empowering to see Izuku persists despite everything he goes through, but it also feels like the story doesn’t allow Izuku to define these events as traumas that he will live with.
I do think Izuku, by this point at the end of the manga, is trying to be a hero that is not like what society imagined. There are details that potentially contradict this: if he had been Quirkless this entire time, that really would have been a hero unlike how Quirk society imagined. But All Might has been the example no one can reach; Izuku wants to do so, that strikes me as trying to defy how society shows what a hero should be. All Might tried to talk him out of being a hero, telling him to be a police officer or a firefighter; Izuku still refused. Izuku should have powered through the Sports Festival, even if he would still end up losing to Shoto; he didn’t, he let Shoto take it out on him to take ownership of his fire Quirk. But these are just Izuku acting against “common sense,” not exactly modeling a different kind of hero that this Quirk society is used to.
Now, onto the third question:
The flaws in MHA's society get compartamalised, like oh actually basically all heros are good, there is just some small shady part that does assassinations but that gets delt with offscreen. Oh merchandise is kinda tacky but not a big deal - like it could have shown how beauty standards forced by the ads could drive mutants into villany or make people use their quirks as heros ineficently just to keep the best image etc
Right, the people who actually show Quirk society and Pro Hero society are wrong tend to be the Villains, the antagonists.
There are ideas friends have said to me, or written in their own stories, where you have people trying to reform the system from the inside.
Give us characters studying in the public relations and marketing degree programs at UA who want to point out the hypocrisies of Pro Hero society.
Have Shoji, Tokoyami, Ojiro, Mina, Koda, and others far earlier pointing out appearance-based discrimination and discrimination against mutation Quirks.
Show us that there are characters we are to cheer on because they are right.
That being said, there are also readers who would probably say I’m not practicing critical thinking well enough or media literacy well enough. Once the manga does an entire arc that treats the League of Villains as the protagonists against the Meta Liberation Army, that is the invitation to realize that not all Pro Heroes are good, that the Villains make good points.
And while I appreciate where Horikoshi went with Spinner, Shoji, and Koda, I kind of hate that arc. I had such a bad taste in my mouth when Jiro in the English dub called Tokoyami “bird brain” when up to now the series had shown people were accepting just about every different look people came in.
I kind of wish the series had avoided Spinner suffering discrimination due to his appearance, when something like Vigilantes showed discrimination in terms of body shape and size compromising access to public services, something that seemed easier to portray. Not unrealistic, given how in our real world people will take any physical marker of difference to represent their utter hatred for entire groups of people out of their bigotry.
I say this, because I can’t imagine little kids looking at Gang Orca and saying he looked like a villain--whereas I can imagine little kids being excited seeing Tokoyami, Spinner, Gang Orca, and so on, because they look cool.
(And, not to be horny on main, but we’re really going to act like people, respectfully and not objectifying, aren’t turned on by seeing a Spinner or a Gang Orca? That is not believable.)
Now, onto the fourth question:
Or even the question of anti-status quo groups - the only vigilainte in the main series,  Stain, even if sympathetic in a few ways, is basically shown as a deranged killer, the quirk-liberation movement is a shadowy cabal, the yakuza is the yakuza, there are basically no people against the system or outside of it that are basically good, even Gentle needed rehabilitation. Why no comune of quirk users living in the woods, without needing concepts like "hero"?
I agree on just about all of these points.
Gentle at least for me feels somewhat believable, even realistic. There are “law and order” characters within the series who ignore that Gentle, after that one injury in his failed rescue, was drawing attention to bigger crimes, was more so screwing over bigger criminals, that even coming onto UA property in itself is not terrible except that it exposes UA is not perfect and opens the location up to worse attacks.
Like I said above, we already have “good” characters who can speak to these problems in Quirk and Pro Hero societies without being bad guys or getting dismissed as “Villain sympathizers.”
Or, maybe you want to have the story go in that direction, show someone like Tokoyami defending those with Quirk mutations, or even Denki with his “Stain was cool” rhetoric, and have that butt heads with a classmate.
What if close friends like Momo and Jiro were on different sides of an issue, one sympathizing with “lawbreakers” who are reforming Quirk society, the other wanting “law and order”?
It’d be similar to Ochaco and Tsuyu refusing to join the Bakugo rescue--it creates believable character conflicts that can drive future plots, character progression, differentiate Class A so that they have more distinct personalities and are not just, well, extras until they get their big moments in the manga’s final arc.
Now, onto the last question:
Anyway, sorry for the MHA spam, but just think it has a lot of lost potential because of it conformism to the society, that makes all it criticisms of it shallow, as if they were better not included and it all was just a fun school comedy if thats how the questions raised get delt with.
The archetypal superhero story, for a long time, has been a struggle about whether you want your heroes to uphold the status quo or oppose it. The moment you have them oppose that status quo, are they still heroes? The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a cliche example to turn to, but it’s the best I have right now: you have the Avengers, at least in the first film, propping up a status quo; by the time of Civil War, you have Captain America still getting to be the hero even as he’s opposing the government.
For a series such as My Hero Academia that comments on just about everything in the archetypal superhero story, it feels lacking in responding to the status quo question.
I wouldn’t say all the criticisms are shallow, but I think there is more that could be done but isn’t. This can be the problem of just wanting to get to the next chapter, wrap up the next arc, or finish the manga already.
I brought up Reddit earlier, and that was one of the remark made recently: that the series would be better if it slowed down, took breaks between arcs to do more of the school comedy stuff. And it’s not as if a school comedy lacks potential to address big earth-shattering questions.

Glamrock Freddy is not possessed by Michael Afton - a FNAF Theory
Tumblr media
glamrock freddy is not possessed by michael afton - and that’s because i believe he is possessed by henry emily.
tldr; in my opinion, henry emily makes a lot more sense than michael afton to be possessing glamrock freddy from a satisfying narrative perspective. and, he has just as much chance as michael afton does based on the pre-established lore!
click below to read the theory!
so first off, to preface this, maybe this was a little clickbait-y. i am not normally a serious theorist... i’m no matpat ill tell you that😭 this is just a fun theory and despite being a fnaf fan who’s followed the lore since 2014, i don’t know everything and i can make mistakes. BUT i do really enjoy the idea of this theory and while i’m not saying it’s necessarily more likely in the lore than the theory of glamrock freddy being michael, i just think from a satisfying storytelling point of view it's what makes the most sense !!
also, i’m not the first one to bring up this theory, far from it, but i just wanted to spread it around as it makes the most sense thematically to me.
so to refresh your memory, henry emily was the co-founder of fazbear entertainment, alongside william afton.
Tumblr media
he is the father of charlotte, who you may know as the soul possessing the marionette. (charlotte is also the protagonist of the silver eyes trilogy) but most importantly, henry is also the cassette man who instructs you, the player, in FNAF6.
at the end of the completionist ending in FNAF6, henry will give his iconic monologue to william, michael afton (his son and the player character) and the animatronics before burning the place down, killing everyone in the process.
Tumblr media
he does this to release the souls trapped in the animatronics, and to kill afton. from a lore and narrative standpoint, this was the ideal conclusion to the storyline, and fnaf as a whole. after defeating afton, henry & michael were able to provide peace to the children's souls.
this is also why i have a problem with security breach's approach to the narrative, and the return of afton as the major antagonist, but that's a problem for another thread someday
anyway, this is important, because the FNAF6 location is the same pizzeria that’s directly below roxy’s raceway in Security Breach. for the story to give a narrative reason for ruining the closure of FNAF6, glamrock freddy should have the soul of either henry or michael to justify afton in this game. and thus, the popular theory that ‘glamrock freddy is michael afton’ was born as a brother theory (no pun intended) to the ‘gregory is crying child in some way/form’ one. but this is where this theory divulges from the michael one, because thematically that just doesn’t work for me.
from the beginning of the FNAF timeline, the motif for william afton was always springbonnie. the motif for henry was always fredbear. michael was always more associated with foxy instead, as seen in the FNAF4 mini games, and later on with the funtime animatronics in SL.
Tumblr media
in my opinion, i believe that it is michael possessing the blob during the afton ending of SB, who in the end gets to deal the final blow and ‘defeat’ afton one final time.
Tumblr media
another thing that indicates it’s henry possessing glamrock freddy that was pointed out by u/dismal-ad-7471 on reddit:
Tumblr media
lastly, this isn’t backed up by anything, but in general the overall temperament and personality of glamrock freddy just aligns more with henry than michael to me, as he was a very loving father to his daughter before and doted on her, similarly to how GF does for gregory in SB.
Tumblr media
lastly again just to reiterate, i’m not saying this is canon. but it just makes more sense to me than anything else!! also if anyone noticed anything else linking henry to glamrock freddy, or any mistakes i’ve made, pls let me know! xoxo

@gvardiol Sorry to tag you in something out of the blue but as the anon asked you about stuff for learning Croatian and I think this might be the best way to get it to them! I also feel like they’ll be other people who want to know, I definitely started learning because of 2018 and I imagine it’s going to happen again.
So Duolingo hasn’t got a course (booooooo!) but
Mondly is worth it for the daily lessons, it will give you vocab that’s completely randomised but it’s still vocab. Premium opens up all of it but it is PRICEY
Drops is my go to, it has topics that you work through in the 5 minutes a day you get (sometimes they give you more as a “gift” for like streaks, it’s Christmas or another holiday for example) I feel like this is the most coherent for beginners. Isn’t random vocab like Mondly, isn’t throw Grammar at you at least not in a “HERE! GRAMMAR!” way
Memrise. There’s no official course for Croatian on Memrise but there’s plenty of courses that teach you words which are important for speaking (3,000 words makes you conversational, and knowing words makes grammar examples way easier to figure out)
Outside of apps there’s some other useful resources
Croatian reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/croatian/) for language learning, specfically the films link they have on their resource list: https://croatian.film/en/
If you want to do a course, there’s also this, which was made with a native speaker: http://www.easy-croatian.com/
Depending on how serious you are, hunt Langblr for resource posts and you’ll probably be able to books for a reasonable price COUGHFREECOUGH that wouldn’t otherwise be readily available. Just throwing Langblr into the search finds you a bunch of neat people too
And just from someone who learns languages for fun (including Croatian) if you really want to learn beyond the 5 minutes on Drops or the 15 minute lesson then interact with the language in a way that is fun for you. There are sites out there that have recorded football matches (Footballia comes to mind but you didn’t hear that from me) maybe try to find some with Croatian commentary, some definitely have Croatian leagues. I learned a lot of my language through songs and watching my favourite TV shows dubbed. It’s gonna make no sense at first but trust the process. Also if you want to speak then don’t neglect your speaking, it’s the hardest part, especially the less access you have to native speakers so even if you’re talking to yourself you’re still practicing.
Okay language nerd out, if you have any questions feel free to pop on my blog and ask them

If you think you have never stolen artwork, read this post.
So, art theft. If you've been a follower of mine, you've heard my barely-coherent rants about this before, but I thought it might be more productive to make a more coherent post on the subject.
If you're wondering about the title of the post here, it's because I feel like a lot of people aren't really grasping what exactly art theft is, and a LOT of people, even well-meaning ones, do it without even realizing it.
"But wait," you say. "I would never STEAL from an artist!! I never claim it as my own!" And that's all fine and good, but you're missing something here.
To start things off, what IS art theft? (It's not what deviantART said it was several years back, I'll tell you that much. *cough*)
We all know what art is, so let's talk about theft. Dictionary.com defines "theft" as "the act of stealing; the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods or property of another; larceny." Okay, makes sense, but what about that other word there, stealing? Dictionary.com defines "steal" as "to take (the property of another or others) without permission or right, especially secretly or by force."
From those definitions, we can go on to define art theft as, specifically, "taking art without permission or right." In the context of art, that typically involves reposting it (not reblogging--reblogging is different) or using it for other things.
And there, my friends, is the issue.
If something is taken or used without permission, it is stolen. Permission is the important thing here--if an artist says "oh yeah, you can go ahead and use this!" then it's not stolen. You have their permission. But if you DON'T have that, then it IS stolen. It IS theft.
"But I'm not claiming it as my own!" you say. But you don't have to claim it as your own--the act of taking it in and of itself is an act of theft.
"But I said 'credit to the artist!'" The "credit" thing is a whole other conversation, but here's the short of it: The entire point of credit is to direct people to the source of something. If you are not directly linking to where you got the art from, you are not giving credit. "Credit to the artist" is not actually credit of any kind whatsoever. (Also, Google and Pinterest are not sources.)
"But I DID link back to the artist!" Okay, now this is where it may get confusing, because you may think you're covered because you actually did give credit. Here's the problem: if you reposted it or used it without permission, regardless of whether you gave credit or not, it's still stealing.
I'm bolding this because it's a point that a lot of people get tripped up on. Let me explain it this way: If you went into your neighbor's house and took something of theirs without their permission, but you told people "oh yeah, I got this from [neighbor]'s house!" that that would still, of course, be stealing, and it's no different for art.
Another thing is that even when you credit, people don't always check the source. Very recently I found a case where someone had reposted a piece of artwork of mine to Pinterest that was deliberately made to look like it came from the source material (it wasn't meant to confuse anyone, though--the description of my original post made it very clear that it was fanart). The person who reposted had linked back to my original post. The problem? The comments had people asking if this was official, where it happened in the source material, etc. Despite the fact that the source was right there, no one thought to look at it.
Even if you link back to the source, if you did it without the artist's permission, it's still stealing, and still causes problems for us artists.
"But I just posted it to my Pinterest--" DO NOT DO THIS. DO NOT POST AN ARTIST'S WORK TO PINTEREST IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THEIR EXPLICIT PERMISSION TO DO SO.
"But this artist friend of mine says they're okay if I post their work to my Pinterest so long as I link back to them!" Good for your friend! But the fact that your friend is okay with it doesn't mean that all artists are okay with it. For me, personally, I am very not okay with my work being posted to Pinterest, and say as much on my art blog description and posts (which people tend to ignore).
The problem with Pinterest--and reposting art in general--is that we artists don't know when it happens unless we're told, or unless we find it ourselves. It causes us to lose control of our art. And because of this, our art can spiral further out of our control, because when our works get posted to Pinterest or other similar websites, people who have no grasp whatsoever on how art works will just take it as "free art" and then use it for whatever they want.
That's how a piece I spent 20+ hours on was used as a poster for a paid event, without my permission, and without any payment or credit to me.
If an artist has said nothing about Pinterest (or other similar image sharing sites), your default should be to assume that they don't want their artwork posted there.
"Well I didn't repost someone's art, but I did use it for my avatar/RPing icon/video/fic cover/photo edit--" That's still stealing. If you're using it without their permission for any reason, that is stealing. Not to mention, the artist may not be cool with what you're using their art for anyway. (Looking at you, people who use platonic art in your shipping videos.)
“I MEANT to ask them for permission, but I forgot!” This can ONLY happen if you used the artwork BEFORE you asked for permission. You can resolve this by asking for permission BEFORE you use it, rather than assuming the answer will be “yes” and using it before asking.
"But it took me a really long time to make that icon/video/cover/edit!!" How long do you think it took the original artist to draw their piece? It doesn't matter how much work you put into modifying someone else's art--if you're doing it without their permission, you're still stealing.
"But I couldn't find the original artist! I tried to find them, I really did, but I couldn't. Is it okay to use their art then?" No, because you still don't have permission, and by reposting it anyway, you’re continuing to make the artwork spiral out of their control.
"What if I found the artist, but they speak a different language from mine? I can't ask them for permission, so is it okay if I repost their art anyway?" NO!! DO NOT DO THIS!! If there is a language barrier, use Google translate or find someone to translate for you and get a hold of the artist that way to ask them for their permission. The language barrier is NEVER an excuse to steal artwork. There are plenty of non-English-speaking artists who have taken ALL OF THEIR ARTWORK OFFLINE because the art theft was completely out of control. (And this isn't just exclusive to English-speakers stealing art from people who don't speak their language. It happens artists who don't speak English stealing art from English-speakers, too, but as this post is written in English it doesn't do much good for me to rant about this here.) If you can’t ask their permission, do not use it!!
"But what about reblogging?! Isn't that the same as reposting?? Should we not reblog art at all then?" No, reblogging (or retweeting) is not the same as reposting. If you reblog art, you keep all the information that we attached to the art, including our blog name and the description attached to the art. Reblogging/retweeting actually helps us artists A LOT, so as long as you're reblogging from the original artist (and not someone who's reposting their art), by all means, reblog our art!
"What if I just want to share someone else's artwork on Discord or show it to a friend?" This one's a bit different and is not actually as problematic. If you want to share our work on Discord or whatever, just link directly to where we posted it. Please don't post the art itself, unless you're doing it alongside a link because Discord won't show a preview or something.
"What about a forum or a site like Reddit?" This one's a bit different, since due to the way Reddit functions, if you LINK to the art, you have to go directly to the artist's original page to view it. (At least, that’s what it’s like the last time I was active there.) In a way it's roughly the same as with Discord--be sure you're linking directly to the actual post rather than just uploading the art on its own--but I would also ask the artist if they're okay with it, because they may be a member of the subreddit or forum and want to post it themselves, or they might not want their work shared to specific communities. (Some communities have a function where a bot will repost the artwork to Imgur, and some artists don't want that done with their art.)
"What if I'm saving it to my computer/phone to look at later, or making it into my desktop/phone wallpaper?" IMO this is fine, since your computer/phone files aren't public, and neither is your wallpaper. It's only a problem when you post it to public places without our permission.
"What if it's art I commissioned?" Well... like... in that case, it's art you paid for, so unless the artist you commissioned laid out very specific terms for you, you should be good to use that art. Like, at most, the artist may ask you to credit them somewhere in your blog description if they drew your icon or something, or credit them in a fic description if you commissioned a fic illustration from them, or something to that effect. It's really something you should have already worked out with the artist beforehand, but for the most part you should probably be fine to use art you paid for however you like.
"What about art I requested?" This is a bit different from commissioned work. Just because the art was drawn at your request doesn't mean it's explicitly yours (unless it's like, a drawing of your original character or something). Some artists take requests more as suggestions, so the art they draw in response to a suggestion or request is still theirs. Treat this as you would any other artwork and ask the artist for permission first before you do anything with the artwork you requested from them.
“What about NFTs?” ... Okay this one I can’t really go over too much because I barely understand it in the first place, but NFTs are BAD for artists and are a form of art theft. Do not turn people’s art into NFTs. This is a crappy thing to do. (If you want more information on this one, you’ll have to look it up yourself. It’s a form of cryptocurrency and it’s confusing.)
“If you don’t want your art stolen you shouldn’t post it in the first place.” This is fascinating logic. Try applying it to something else and see how it holds up. “If you don’t want your merchandise stolen, you shouldn’t open a booth.” “If you don’t want to get poisoned you shouldn’t eat food.” “If you don’t want to get punched in the face, don’t walk outside.” Yes. Flawless logic. Truly.
"Why do you care so much, anyway?! I'm sharing your art because I like it! That's a compliment! Shouldn't you be happy?" Well, we're certainly glad you like our art, but the problem is... as I've said before, reposting our art causes us to lose our control over it. When we lose control of our art, that damages our livelihood. As I said before, other people have made money off of my artwork. As well, some artists lose jobs because when their potential employers check out their portfolio, they may find artwork that's been reposted everywhere online, so they cannot hire the artist because they believe they may have stolen the artwork in their own portfolio.
Your reposting an image you thought was cute to Facebook or Pinterest could cost an artist their job. Think about that.
So, tl;dr, keep this in mind: you need the artist's permission to repost or use their artwork. If you do not have it, it is stealing, even if you credit the artist.
I know this post is really harsh in places, but this is such an important thing for all artists, and there's so many misconceptions about art theft online. And I feel like one of the biggest problems is that when some people see posts on art theft, they ignore them, because they think they've never done it or would never do it, so that's why I worded this post the way I did. I'm not trying to hurt anyone--I just want people to understand what art theft is, how it affects us artists, and how you can avoid it. Thank you for reading.

Kylea Riffle Needs Your Help
ATTENTION FRIENDS….
I will be sharing about the journey of Kylea Riffle, a girl whose story I’ve been following along on Reddit under the username ‘’SketchKYR.’’
Tumblr media
Kylea is a hobbyist and artist who shares her wonderful artworks from time to time of her original characters.

But behind this sweet girl is also a girl who’s led an extremely hard life.
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her since I’ve stumbled on her recent updates.
She’s currently in a bad situation, and as if things couldn’t get worse, it’s just been one bad thing after another the past few years. I want something to go right for her for a change. I want someone to make her day, to let her know she is loved and that someone out there cares. I want someone to be her Guardian Angel.
She has no friends and family to fall back on and my efforts to spread the word about her situation has been in vain and has fallen on deaf ears.
I’ve shared her story to my Facebook wall, and I’ve tried reaching out to my Twitter followers and DeviantART watchers with little success. I’ve come here as a last resort in hopes that at least 10% of my 1300+ followers will care enough to listen.
I hope you won’t scroll past and find the heart to listen to her story. If you’re still with me, please read on.

Kylea has set up a GoFundMe page some 5 months ago, and so far there have been only 2 donations in the past 2 days. Even if her goal isn’t met, something would be better than nothing. Obviously, I can’t raise all that money on my own and I need your help. Here is the link to her page if anyone wants to make a donation or get the word out.  Even if you can’t make a donation at this time, as I understand money is tight for everyone right now, I kindly ask you reblog this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  ❤️
Now before you start throwing your money away, here is the reason Kylea needs help:
On January 9, 2020, everything that could be shaken was shaken. That day brought with it a seismic occurrence that can still be felt even as this note is written to you. On that unforgettable day Kylea would face an overwhelming moment. To say what exactly she felt or thought ONLY God knows. What can be reasonably said…it was a dark place. With a broken and betrayed heart…with perceived isolation…and a spirit of fear as a battering ram against her mind…it was beginning to descend over the edge of life to a point of no return, and her fall began. The hours and days ahead were treacherous, heart wrenching and frightening to say the least. Moments of reprieve were given only to be interrupted by setbacks. Then enough daylight came to the situation that life stepped back from the edge. Just enough space to breathe and begin to ponder what she has come through.
Kylea was a caretaker for her mother for 6 months who was diagnosed with cancer (Stage 2 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tongue) back in January 2019. By October, she was done with treatment, and every visible sign of it had gone. But then she took turn for the worst late November 2019 and continued to decline in December of 2019.  Despite their best efforts, though, things worsened. On New Year’s Day, her mother had to be admitted again. The admitting doctor pulled her aside and told her that her mother was dying.  Kylea told him the best thing he could do was to not give up right away and take care of her the best his team could. She said this out of desperation. Since her mother was African American, Kylea was very afraid of underlying racism being a factor for not wanting to treat her right away. But the cancer had spread.  The night before January 9th, Kylea and her sister went to visit their mother. Her condition was worsening. They were going to transfer her to the ICU.  The morning of the 9th, Kylea got a call while going to work (she’s a retail associate at Burlington) that her mother was going to be intubated that morning. She informed her Manager on Duty, and the Manger told Kylea to go be with her. Kylea rushed out of work and drove straight to the hospital to find out they had postponed intubation because they believed her breathing troubles were from her anxiety. Kylea went to see her, and her mother looked at her with a smile. Kylea gave her a hug and broke down crying. She told her mother she was sorry. She told her to please forgive her for ‘’being a bad daughter... For not doing enough... For not taking care of her.’’ Obviously, Ky was, by no means, ‘‘a bad daughter’’; she was a wonderful daughter and did everything she could, but she was emotionally distressed after everything they’ve been through (their biological father—who was white—was abusive and a cocaine addict and they were also estranged from their step-father, also white and abusive; their whole lives, they had to survive). Ky’s mother looked at her, smiled, and cupped her cheek, which she had never done before in Ky’s recollection.
Ky got a call later that afternoon from one of her uncles. They were going to intubate her mother. Once she was intubated, her chances of making it were slim to none. She picked up her sister from work and headed down to the hospital. They prepared themselves for the possibility of their mom not making it.
They get into the ICU, and they could not intubate her. The cancer had eclipsed her airway completely. All they could do was put her in a ventilator. Once she was taken off it, she was going to pass. Her mom had a single small tube supporting her lungs, but other than that, she was only hanging on by a small thread. Although she could not respond or open her eyes, Ky told her that she loved her and that she was sorry, over and over and over again. She felt like this was her fault. That she could have done something to prevent this outcome. A lot of what ifs, a lot of apologies, a lot of regret.
Their mom could not speak but she was okay if they let her go.
Ky looked at her twin sister. She asked her if she was ready, and she nodded. Ky called the doctors over. It was now after 5:00 in the afternoon. ‘‘We’re ready. Go ahead.’’ Ky watched them take the tube out and give her medication to keep her comfortable. Ky kissed the top of her head and held her hand. At 5:43 in the afternoon, their mom had succumbed to her cancer at fifty years old. She was only in the hospital for nine days.
You can read the full story on Kylea’s blog here.
Kylea also has a website for her wonderful artwork.

Following their mom’s passing, Ky and her sister lived alone in the apartment they shared with their mother, trying to make ends meet. It was just the two girls alone, fending for themselves. As I’ve said, the girls have no other family to turn to in their time of need. Their biological father has since passed away and they are estranged from their step-father who both walked out on them and abandoned them for drugs when they needed them most. Their mother was the ‘’black sheep’’ in her family and so they are not close to their aunts and uncles either. The girls work in retail and they’ve been scrounging the past few years to pay off debts. They have an older sister who lived in Florida with her kids and her boyfriend. Their older sister is never there for them when they need her.
In November 2020, their step-dad came out of the blue to threaten them for no reason. This is the tweet from Ky’s sister:

Their step-dad leased a house they used to live before moving into the apartment they now rent and in January 2019 he stole the girls’ money and left with only a ‘’Dear John’’ letter, leaving the girls in debt after their mom passed. Kylea managed to negotiate with the step-dad to pay off the debt for the prior rental property, but they’re still financially struggling.

Some 9 or 10 months ago, their older sister and her boyfriend moved in with them. The sister is unemployed because she’s pregnant. I thought things would improve for the girls when their sister decided to move in with them and help contribute to the household expenses, but by the sounds of it, Kylea and her sister Kayla are the only ones working while the sister and her boyfriend take advantage of them. Kylea has to babysit her sister’s kids when she goes out despite her sister not working. Suffice to say, things have worsened. Ky purchased a new car that her sister’s boyfriend borrowed and totaled, plunging her further into debt.
It’s literally Ky and Kay, the older (pregnant) sister, the sister’s two kids and boyfriend all living in this small, cramped apartment, living paycheck to paycheck.
LendingTree turned Kylea away from obtaining a loan for whatever reason.
(Also, in April 2020, Ky was diagnosed with hypochondria and she used to be on Prozac for Depression that she thought of quitting ‘’cold turkey’’ because she could no longer afford the medication.)
Though Kylea got a promotion at work in March 2021, with a slight monetary raise from her minimum wage, in November 2021, the whole family contracted COVID-19, despite being vaccinated. They cut down at hours at Kylea’s workplace, and she was late on rent. She was hospitalized for COVID in December and was out of work and unable to pay her bills.
Kayla too has reached a plea:

I don’t know what their financial situation is now, but it seems to have been one downward spiral after another.
(Kayla draws too and you can also find her on Instagram.)
Here is Kylea’s Instagram for anyone interested:

And she has two DeviantART accounts:

I have followed her story since the beginning. Kylea  and her family have lived through circumstances most families cannot even fathom.  I pray her journey becomes an upward narrow trail even as she reflects back to those darkest moments.   My prayers will follow and support her and I hope you all will help me do the same.
Thank you for reading.
