@tenebriism asked: " If you keep looking at me like that, I don't think I'll be able to control myself any longer. " // from Ganon~
Tumblr media
« Looking at you like what? » Even though the words are signed, the subtle, cheeky smile on Link's lips was more than enough to give away that the Hylian knew exactly what look Ganon was warning him about. They'd been teasing at each other for a while now and Link was not above instigating or making Ganon lose it.
He wanted to see Ganon lose control. He let a hip drop, giving a stretch of his body, lifting his arms over his head to make the top of the frostbite armor rise slightly above his hips.
"I bet you could hold out a little longer."

"'Who's Ganon?' Who's Ganon?! Get a load of this fuck!"

Summary
Sky is exhausted. Utterly and completely tired. Luckily, his team members aren't as dense as they seem to be.
Words: 3,053
Warnings: Legend cursing
The portal from Sky's Hyrule had dropped The Chain, as Sky affectionately referred to their group as, in Fours Hyrule. The smith seemed annoyed, claiming they were just over a day's walk away from his home, his forge.
“Does that mean we have to camp out?” Wind complained, a pout already forming on his face.
Four gave the sailor a reassuring smile, annoyance forgotten in the face of comforting their youngest. "Don't worry Wind, my Hyrule isn't as terrain as Wilds. It's mostly forests, streams and the occasional big town. I promise it’ll only be one night then everyone can sleep with a roof over their head till we have to switch.”
Wind still seemed upset at the prospect of sleeping outside but didn’t push, knowing there was no amount of complaining that would make their walk go by faster.
As everyone finished gathering their dropped supplies, Sky walked over to Wind, intent on cheering him up before their walk. “If you get tired of walking, I’m sure Warrior or Twilight would be happy to give you a piggyback ride,” he said with a gentle smile. “I’d give you one myself but we all know my stamina isn’t the best, I’d drop you faster than a sack of rocks.”
The little Link smiled, the offer of piggybacks making his frustration melt away completely. “Yeah, you probably wouldn’t even be able to stand up with me on your back!” Wind laughed, tying his pack and putting it where it was supposed to go.
Sky let the insult to his strength wash over him, not bothered by it. Groose would’ve ripped into him and insulted everything about him, he could take a little jab from Wind. He let out a small laugh, easily agreeing with the sailor. Sky kept Wind entertained for most of them walk, and when he noticed the little sailor was growing tired and irritated, he brought up the option for a piggyback.
“Don’t you think Warrior is looking a little lonely? Why don’t you go keep him company? I’m sure he’d love to give you a ride until we settle down somewhere.” Sky said, motioning to where the captain was walking next to the veteran. The two were talking about something Sky was too far away to hear. Neither looked heated or annoyed though so Sky figured it was some idle chatting. Wind agreed, energy temporarily increased as he bounded over to Warriors.
From his position, Sky could see Warrior pause his conversation with Legend and look down at Wind, greeting him with a hair ruffle. Sky couldn’t hear what the following conversation was but he could see Warriors confused glance thrown at him. Sky gave him a tight smile, giving the captain a pointed look. Warriors eyes widened and he was quick to let Wind hop on his shoulders, the rest of the group slowing down or stopping to watch the two.
‘You comfortable up there, sailor?’ Wild signed with one hand, pictobox aimed at the pair with the other. Twilight repeated his words out loud so the others who couldn’t read sign very well could know what he said.
Wind made a thinking face and made a so-so motion with one hand, the other resting on Warriors head. “The pauldron is a little uncomfortable and it’s kinda chilly up here. Overall, I think I have to give this ride a seven out of ten, sorry Wars.”
“Why you brat!” Warrior playfully growled, holding onto Wind's legs before breaking into a run. Wind screeched, curling up to hold onto Warriors head better. After a few seconds of Warrior running in a circle, everyone could hear his giggles.
The two continued to run around until Warrior eventually pawned Wind off to Twilight, claiming “he didn’t give free rides to ungrateful brats.” Twilight threw Wind over his shoulder like an unruly goat, ignoring the sailors' curses to hold him with dignity.
“What do you think about this ride Wind? How’d you rate it out of ten?” Twilight asked, holding Wind's legs down so he couldn’t kick his way free no matter how he tried, and he was really trying!
“I give this ride a negative thousand! Put me down ya cheating scallywag!” Wind cursed, his fists pounding on Twilight's back. With all his armor, Sky doubted the rancher could even feel the blows.
Twilight gave the sailor a feral grin and turned to the group. "Anyone else want to carry him around? See if they can offer a more generous ride?" He offered, showing off his shoulder where Wind was now furiously struggling. Sky started to laugh, watching the little Link get more and more wiggly.
"Oh no you don't!" Wind laughed out, almost falling off from how hard he was moving around. At this point, Twilight holding Wind by the ankles was the only thing keeping the sailor from falling down his back.
No one in the group offered to help him, only laughing and shaking their heads when the passenger was offered to them. Wild, who had strayed away from the group at some point, started making his way back when he heard all the commotion. He looked around to see what everyone was waiting for, walking closer to Twilight and Wind when he saw what was happening.
"Well, looks like you're stuck with me sailor. Guess you'll have to endure this negative a thousand ride," Twilight said with faux empathy, adjusting Wind so he was now correctly back over his shoulder.
The group started walking not long after that, Wind accepting the shoulder-back ride. Time walked next to Twilight, a soft smile on his face as he watched the sailor get more and more drowsy. It was quiet for the next while, everyone staying quiet as they realized Wind was falling asleep.
Legend left Warriors' side and walked over to Twilight, cruising on his right where Wind was. "You having fun there?" He laughed, lightly tugging Wind's hair.
Wind briefly lifted his head from where he dropped it down Twilights back, giving Legend a glare. It only took a few seconds before he decided doing that was too much effort, huffing and dropping it against Twilight's back.
Sky, feeling sorry for the sailor, walked over to him and swatted Legends hand away. "Leave him alone Vet, I bet he's tired. We've been walking for almost three days straight, let him have a little rest." Sky gently scolded, nudging the veteran away.
Legend backed down with minimal argument, making his way back to Warrior. "Sky's mother henning again," Sky heard Legend say to Warrior. "Careful not to piss him off."
To Sky, it felt as though the group often forgot he and Wind weren’t used to walking. They were all used to working through the night and seemed to forget that he and Wind weren’t. It was something so small that Sky wasn’t bothered by it, he could make himself keep up. But once Wind started getting affected by their ignorance, he would raise every little complaint he could think of to make sure their youngest was getting the care and attention he needed. Apparently when he got like that, the others called it him 'mother henning'. A phrase he, one, didn't understand and two, thought was ridiculous.
Sky saw Wild walking over to them, walking in front of Twilight and presenting his back. It took Twilight a second to understand the silent message, confusion bleeding into surprise. “You want to carry him cub?” Twilight asked, confusion in his voice. “Don’t worry about my complaining earlier, I was just kidding.” He followed up.
Wild nodded, turning around for a second to sign to them. ‘It’s fine, I want to carry him. Hand him over.’ He said, turning back around.
“Well if you’re sure,” Twilight started, struggling to lift Wind off his shoulder without jostling the youngest too much. Sky helped him, holding Wind's upper body while Twilight eased his lower half off. Holding Wind bridal style, the two managed to set the sailor on Wilds back. Wild adjusted his body before nodding, assuring the group that they could move on.
Four, who was leading the group, took this break to observe where they were. “If we walk another hour or so we should come on a clearing we could use for the night. The forest dwellers keep this area monster free so it’s safe to sleep the night.”
“You sure this area's safe, Four? I don’t doubt you but I’ve got an eerie feeling being here and I know when to trust my gut.” Legend doubted, left hand resting on his scabbard's strap.
Four turned to look at Legend, a blank look on his face. “Yes I’m sure. I grew up in these woods, I would rather believe Ganon came back than these woods hiding any kind of harm."
Legend raised his hands in surrender. "Alright I'll believe you. But we should take shifts just in case. Something about this forest puts me on edge."
Four let out a deep sigh but agreed to the shifts, offering to take the midnight shift. Legend took the first and Wild, through loud grunting, took the third.
"You must really adore Wind for you to leave yourself defenseless like this." Hyrule said as he walked next to Wild, looking at Wind's sleeping face.
Wild didn't acknowledge Hyrule until he quietly said, "I trust you all to keep us safe."
It was still shocking to hear Wilds voice, he only started speaking back in his world. Hyrule, similarly surprised as everyone else, floundered for a second to find words. "Yeah- of course we'd protect you two! You're our brothers and we'd protect you in matter what." He said, gently knocking their shoulders together.
Wild smiled, keeping his gaze in front of him so as to not trip on anything.
After that exchange, the rest of the walk was relatively silent, something Sky deeply hated. His stamina was taking a beating and his feet ached so much that he could feel his heartbeat in them. He must've been spacing out because the next thing he knew, he was bumping into Hyrules' back.
"Sorry," he mumbled, putting a hand on his shoulder to walk around him. Hyrule startled at the sudden contact but didn't move away from it, looking like a deer caught in lantern lights.
The group had stopped in a little clearing, some people already setting their stuff down. Twilight was unbuckling Wind and Wilds packs while Wild still held Wind, who was completely knocked out. Warrior and Legend were setting their things down, looking to be getting ready to collect firewood for the night. Time and Four were grabbing everyone's packs and setting up their sleeping areas.
Sky let go of Hyrule's shoulder, ecstatic that they were settling down for the night. He didn't bother setting up his sleeping kit, throwing his pack on the ground to use as a pillow. He went down quickly after, passing out as soon as his head touched the makeshift pillow.
~~
“Have you heard how Legend talks about Ravio? There’s no way they're dating!” Sky heard a familiar voice say in front of him.
It was quiet before the voice, was that Wind? It was quiet before Wind started speaking again. "Why would Legend talk so badly about the person he's dating?! It doesn't make sense!" He huffed. Sky felt a weight leaning into his chest paired with a sharp exhale from Wind.
"Wild you're stupid! Nobody would insult their partner as openly as Legend does!"
There was more silence before the weight disappeared, making Sky groan in disappointment. The weight felt really good, no one has leaned on him since their new adventure started.
"Shit, you're right. Forgot I was supposed to be quiet." Wind whispered, though his volume didn't decrease that much.
Sky heard footsteps approaching them, making Wind and Wild stop talking.
"You guys still haven't woken him up? It's almost dinner time, he'll be hungry." A new voice said, sounding a lot like Four.
"Well, you see," Wind started, getting interrupted halfway.
"We came to wake him up but then he kidnapped Wind and isn't letting him go." Wilds' raspy voice said.
There was silence before Four spoke up. "Here, Wild you grab that arm and I'll grab this one." He said. Right after, Sky felt four arms grabbing his and- oh was he cuddling Wind in his sleep again? Oh no, he hadn't meant to cause an inconvenience for everyone!
So caught up in his thoughts, Sky didn't feel the arms pulling his away from around Wind, easily letting the smaller Link go. It was now that he decided to pretend to wake up, head shooting up to take in his surroundings. He was laying on his right side with Four grabbing his right arm and Wild grabbing his left. Wind was standing up, back facing Sky but he quickly turned around when he got free.
"Hah! Take that Sky! I'm no longer your prisoner! Sayonara bitch!" Wind cheered before racing away from the group, not looking back. Four and Wild, seeing that Sky was awake, let his arms go.
"Huh- wha…-?" Sky asked, rapidly blinking his eyes to make his vision clear faster.
"Morning Sky. Or should I say good evening.  It's dinnertime." Four said, kneeling in front of Sky.
His eyes couldn't clear faster, for a second Sky thought he saw that Fours eyes were red. Though when his eyes did finally clear, they were back to his usual green.
"How l'ng was I sleepin' fir?" He slurred, letting out a big yawn
Wild spoke up this time, waving his hand rapidly for Sky to pay attention to. 'Only two hours. But it's dinnertime and we didn't want you to wake up hungry.'
It took Sky a second to process the rapid signing, needing him to repeat the sentence a little slower. His still waking up brain was not cooperating with him. After he processed the sentence, he nodded, giving Wild a tired smile. “Thank you for waking me up, I’d hate to miss Wilds cooking.” He complimented the cook, sitting up fully. He lightly brushd off the grass from his arms, not caring enough to clean them all off fully. He’d be covered in the stuff again soon enough.
Wild beamed at him, standing up himself and holding a hand out to Sky to help him up. He gratefully grabbed the hand, letting the champion help him up. “So what’d you make tonight?”
“Made fish and pumpkin stew.” He rasped out, opening his mouth to continue the sentence but found himself struggling.
“Hey, no need to force yourself to speak. I can read sign well enough.” Sky set a comforting hand on his back, worried Wild would hurt himself if he continued.
Wild opened his mouth again but when he started coughing, gave up and went back to sign. ‘Saw you and Wind were exhausted, felt bad. Wanted to make something for you two to cheer you up.’
Sky couldn’t help but bring Wild in for a side hug, holding the champion tightly. “Thank you Wild! You didn’t have to go out of your way to make a dish for us, Wind and I just aren’t used to traveling like you guys are."
Wild shook his head, wriggling out of Skys grip. 'Still. Should've seen you were tired of walking.'
"It's no one's fault but mine for not speaking up," Sky said, quickly continuing when he saw Wild raise his hands again. "But if you really feel bad then I'm sure you made the best fish and pumpkin stew for us."
Wild said nothing but there was a small smile on his face. Behind them, Sky could have sworn he heard Four say, "I bet Legend and Ravio are dating."
If Wild heard anything he didn't say it, neither did Sky.
The three of them- Four quickly joined the pair when he noticed they were leaving him behind- swiftly made their way over to the fire. It was a little after dusk now, the sky a dark blue with streaks of orange making themselves known.
The rest of the chain were gathered around the campfire, each holding a bowl of soup but none of them were eating yet, instead making conversation with each other.
"Finally! Thank goddess, I was worried we'd starve before they woke you up." Legend snarked, pointing an accusatory spoon in Sky's direction. Hyrule nudged him with his knees, giving him a disappointed look.
He gave a sheepish smile, sitting down next to Time as Wild got more bowls together. "Sorry about that, I guess I didn't realize how tired I was until we stopped." He apologized,  gratefully accepting the offered bowl of food.
Time knocked his shoulder against Sky's, making the skyward hero look at him. "No need to apologize, Sky. Legends just being dramatic as he always is, aren't you Legend?"
The veteran huffed but, after seeing Hyrule's glare, agreed, saying he was talking with his stomach and not his heart. Whatever that meant.
Wild served himself and Four before settling down between Twilight and Time, his own bowl balanced dangerously on his knee. 'Now that everyone's here we can dig in!' He excitedly signed, Twilight repeating his words for the others.
Everyone began eating, keeping small talk to a minimum until everyone was done.
Sky leaned on Time when they were both done eating, a yawn escaping him. "Earlier, when we were walking," he started, getting everyone's attention. "Four, you said you'd rather believe Ganons come back, right?" He asked the smith.
Four nodded, confusion clear in his violet looking eyes. "Yes? I trust the safety of these woods with my life." He said.
"Who's Ganon?" Sky asked, looking around at everyone for an answer.
It was silent before Legend looked over at Warrior and, quite loudly, said, "'Who's Ganon?' Who's Ganon?! Get a loud of this fucker-!"
"Legend!" Twilight barked, diving to cover Wind's ears. But he was too late.
"Don't call Sky a fucker you- you fucker!" Wind defended, jumping to avenge Sky's honor.
Sky never did learn who Ganon was, the resulting argument never died down enough for anyone to tell him.
What he did learn however, is that Four is terrible at keeping secrets and has the cutest cats!

Loz: The trials of heroes of legends
A Legend of Zelda DiC cartoon fanfiction for @wouldyoustilllovemeifiwasawyrm Zelink-iversary featuring different incarnations of Link and Zelda. I seen that the pair was more jerks than how they are in the later games and other adaptations, so I planned this story to feature them getting some character development to make them more like their canon counterparts. The past Links' design are based off of how they appear in @linkeduniverse.
The monster forces of Ganon once again attacked Hyrule's Castle to steal the Triforce of Wisdom guarded by Princess Zelda, but Link, a brave hero wearing a green tunic with long brown sleeves, a green hat, and brown pants and boots, is once again holding these monsters off as he fire sword beams from his sword Crissword and talent the monsters, "Man, I cannot Ganon is still using the same old dumb monsters over and over. I know that he has the Soul of Jar, but he as well you guys never learn when you think you can best me." A pair of Moblin, blue bulldog monsters in armor, managed to jump Link from behind and one of them was about to finish Link off with a spear when a arrow hit the Moblin, causing the monster to return to the Soul of Jar. Link, after he got the other Moblin off, look up to see the blond hair Princess Zelda wearing her purple puff shoulder shirt, stirrup pants, boots, and blue vest has been the one whose saved him and he quickly said as he hit the Moblin with a sword beam, "Hey, I was doing alright, princess. I can handle myself as always." and Princess Zelda said, "I doubt it, Link. Every time that you challenge Ganon's monsters, you get yourself in trouble. I have to come return." Link quickly said, "Hey, I have to save you for Ganon more than you did, Zelda!" and the princess got angry and yell at Link, "You are such a self centered brat, Link! Can you focus on doing your job for once?" and Link reply with his usual saying, "Well, excuuuuse me, princess!" and few of the monsters whose remains don't know what to make of Link and Zelda usual fighting until Ganon said to them in their minds, "Don't just stand there, fools! Get the Triforce!" and the pair were fighting that they didn't see the monsters head to the chamber where the Triforce of Wisdom is located. Just as the monsters were about to enter the chamber, something quick and fast cut each of them down and the spying Ganon was shocked.
Once the battle is over and the royal guards help fix up the castle, Link and Zelda have their backs turn form each other as Spryte, Link's annoying fairy, fly up and said to Zelda, "You should said sorry to Link, Zelda! He has put himself in more danger than you did!" and the princess said to Spryte, "But he was more trouble than Ganon or his monsters!" King Harkinian, Zelda's father, said to his daughter, "Now, Zelda, Link is the lastest Hero of Hyrule and he should be respect given what he did for the kingdom time and time again." and Princess Zelda yell at her father, "That is the only reason why you are fine with Link, father! It is his title, and I know you wanted a son so you trying to get him to married me so you can have a son in law." which Link overhear and ask, "Wait, really? Was that the reason for his majesty helping me out?"
Just then, a old woman call out, "Pardon me!" and everyone stop to see a old woman with white hair and red eyes come forward and Link recognized her right away, "Impa! The old servant that told me about Hyrule having problems with Ganon! I thought you kick the bucket, old woman!" and Princess Zelda shout at Link, "Link, be kind to Impa! She raise me since I was a little girl while daddy run the kingdom. Of course, being king is something you would never understand with your big head!" and Link reply, "Well, excuuuuse me, princess." Impa said, "Enough! Link, while you were fighting with a impossible enemy, some of Ganon's monsters almost reach the chamber where the Triforce of Wisdom was before they were stopped. Were it too late, Ganon would calm both Triforces and rule Hyrule into a age of darkness." and, while shocked at hearing this at first, Link quickly blame Zelda, "See, if you has not been keeping me busy, Ganon could has won." and Zelda yell back, "Me?!? You was post to protect the Triforce of Wisdom, not show off fighting monsters as you always do! The fate of Hyrule is more important than your own image, Link!" Impa quickly said, "Link, Zelda, enough! The impossible enemy I mention is still here and it affecting your mind, Link." and Link said in worry, "Oh no, don't tell me Zelda's rude and arrogant personality that clash with her beauty is keep me busy for keeping Ganon for taking over Hyrule." and Impa said, "While I don't mean Princess Zelda, you are correct that it is what the impossible enemy is doing to you, Link. If you can't defeat them, Ganon would steal the Triforce of Wisdom without you realizing it before it is too late. When we first meet when you was traveling the world for what your heart seek, I choose you to aid Princess Zelda in protecting the Triforce of Wisdom because you remind me of the heroes of the past legends, but I can see you are not quite like them. These brave heroes were humble and kind as well refuse to have their names written in the records so they wouldn't be prideful and continue to trained their body to their final days." and Princess Zelda said, "I'm sure that they don't talk much as well, unlike Link here. It has be so hard to think around here when Link talk." Impa said to Zelda, "I know the perfect teachers for Link to be more like the heroes of old, if you would come with us." and the princess said, "Well.... I guess it would not hurt to watch Link fail many times." The King quickly ask, "Don't tell me that you are taking my daugther to that village of yours." and both Link and Zelda was quite surprised that the usual kind king was acting rude to Impa as the old woman said, "Of course, my people are the only ones whose can help Link and your daughter. Are you truly scare that the truth about why your own daughter can use magic, but you can't, your majesty?" Impa's words cause the king to snap as he shout, "Guys, take Impa to the dungeon and lock her up good!" and everyone except for the king and Impa become confused and Link ask, "Wait, what is going on?" as the King said, "Link, for all of the times you try to woo my daughter so I can be grandfather, shut up for once!" Both Link and Zelda was taken back by this while Impa remind calm and said, "So, you are begin to show your true colors under that cover of being a forgettable king." and the king said, "That monster Ganon would never suspect that I share the same wisdom as my Zelda if I act like a fool. I will do anything to ensure the safety of the Triforce of Wisdom as well the royal bloodline would continue with a male heir, a grandson in this case." and Zelda was shocked at hearing this as Impa said, "What would Zelda said to what the fear of Ganon could do to the kingdom has made you become?" which Zelda reply, "I'm right here, and I'm quite shocked, daddy." Impa reply, "I mean your mother, princess, Queen Zelda Hyrule the Four-fifth." and both Link and Zelda was surpised at hearing this while the King become troubled that no one see Impa drop some kind of ball that release a knockout gas.
Link and Zelda open their eyes to find themselves in a village and Impa said to them, "Link, Princess Zelda, I welcomed you to Kakariko Village, home of the Sheikah Tribe." and Zelda ask, "The Sheikah Tribe?" which Impa reply, "Yes. The Sheikah Tribe were the royal bodyguards of the royal family as well the Triforce of Wisdom before your father, in his grief after the death of his wife the queen, order our people to be banished to Kakariko." Link and Zelda was shocked as the old King seem like a sweet old man to them, but they were shocked at his past actions.
Impa take Link and Zelda to a room where there were four paintings, with each having a image of a blond hair man in green and holding a sword high in the sky, which Link ask, "Wow, who is these guys?" and Impa reply, "They are the heroes of past legends, Link. While their names will be lost to history, their titles and adventures would forever be legends. Almost every child in Hyrule was told of the legends of the Hero of the Sky, the Hero of the Four Swords, the Hero of Time, and the Hero of Legends, whose would appear in Hyrule to save the kingdom when the monster forces of the underworld would threat the land. You must learn from them to become much like them." Link ask, "Okay, but what is it for me? A kiss for Zelda?" which Zelda said, "No way, Link." and Impa then said, "Actually, each of them has used a powerful sword that can destroy Ganon for good and would monster to not return to the Jar of Souls." and both Link and Zelda like the idea of using a powerful sword on Ganon and his monsters that both of them said, "Alright, I'm in, Impa." only to look at each other in surprised as Link then said, "Zelda, Impa said that this challenge is for me." and Zelda groans, "Well, you may fail the trials and the one chance to finally stop Ganon for good. Must I remind you, Link, that you free Ganon when he was trapped in one of his spells while we could have taken the Triforce of Power?" and Link said to Zelda, "Well, excuuuse me, princess." Impa give a sigh as she said, "They would not like teaching Link, after all." and Link then ask, "Wait, who will not like teaching me?" and Impa reply, "Your precursor, Link. I have call in some friends to allow you and Zelda to visit the Golden Realm, the afterlife, to train under their guidance." Princess Zelda smile and said, "If these guys can take Link down a peg or two in teaching him on how to be a better hero, then I'm going too."
Impa and the sages open a portal to the other realm and Impa said to Link and Zelda, "I will follow behind to guide you in the Golden Realm. One more thing, records on the Golden Realm said that the spirits can changed the world to their liking to make it a paradise for them, so things will be tough for you, Link! You must always stay smart!" and Zelda laugh, "Now that would be a first for him, Impa." and the pair jump into the portal.
Link and Zelda open their eyes to find themselves in some kinds of woods and Link ask right away as he and Zelda get up, "Why are we in some kind of woods? Did Impa got the location wrong?" and a young woman voice call out, "No." and the pair turn to see a white hair young woman with red eyes in a blue and black uniform standing by a tree whose said to them, "This is the Golden Realm, the afterlife that I told you and Zelda about, Link." and Princess Zelda was shocked at the identity of the young woman before her and Link, "Impa?!? Is that you?!?" and Impa reply, "Yes. The Golden Realm allow me to regain my youth to aid Link with hints on how to pass the trials of the heroes of legends, as well to keep up with him and you, Zelda." Link said as he look at Impa, "If I knew how beauty you were when you were young, I would have been born as you were." and Impa said, "That would also make you too old to fight monsters, Link." which made the young man said, "Ah, good point." Impa point to a dust road and said to Link, "I have speak with the spirits of the heroes when I got here, Link, and they told me that they would be waiting on this dust road. The final trial would be inside a temple at the end of this dust road." and Link said to Impa, "I will complete these trials in no time flat, girls. Just remember to reward with kisses when I get back." and Link run off. Princess Zelda said, "I cannot believe that jerk." which Impa then said as she show a path that was hidden by some bushes, "Your majesty, I know a short to the temple. Follow me." and Impa head off with Zelda following her as the princess think, 'Link is going to be shocked when he find out that I beat him to the temple.'
On the dust road, Link keep running until he see a pink hair young man wearing a blue tunic and hat sitting by a tree and, just before Link can run past him, take Link's cap and said, "Hey, this look better on me!" and Link quickly shout, "Hey, give that back, you thief!" The pink hair man only joke, "Try to catch me then!" and he run off into the woods, with Link following after him.
Meanwhile, as the women continue to run on the path, Impa seem to be much faster than Zelda when she was young and the blond hair princess, annoyed that Link would reach would reach the temple before they do, shout to the Sheikah woman, "Impa, how much long is this shortcut?!? Can you slow down?!? Why are you running ahead of me?!?" and Impa said to Zelda, "I don't understand what you means, Zelda. I'm just walking, but you are the one running." As Zelda keep running to catch up with Impa, she look around to find that the land around her was moving to give the illusion that the path was long while Impa was indeed walking, and Zelda quickly remember Impa's warning about the Golden Realm can changed and she stopped. Zelda quickly take a deep breath as she think to think on how to stop this illusion.
Link chase the thief to a house that cause Link to pause as he said with fear, "No.... why is that place doing here? It should not be there.... This is not...." and he quickly remember how the Golden Realm is shaped and he said, "I get it now. Stupid spirits made the orphanage appear in the Golden Realm." and he open the door only to find a pair of kids, one fat and the other thin, whose laugh and the fat one said, "Look whose it is." and Link cry out, "Oiraw! Igiul!" and Link noticed that his voice has changed when he call out the names of his childhood bullies as the door shut behind him. Link saw that he has become a boy again as his two bullies surround him with the fat Oiraw wearing a yellow tunic said, "Cry baby Linky got back from his daydream adventures." and Link start to protest, "Wh-What... No... my adventures are real-" before the thin Igiul wearing a purple tunic push Link on the ground and laugh, "Oh no, the poor hero Linky fall on the ground. Now, the world is in danger from the fake monsters that he is afraid of." and the boy Link shout, "SHUT UP! MY ADVENTURES ARE REAL!" Soon, a third voice call out, "Hey." and Link look to see the pink hair man, whose now a boy, holding his hat, "Were you looking for this?" and Oiraw laugh, "Oh man, it's poor Linky's stupid hat." and Link said, "Give it back!"
From a window, Princess Zelda watch the boy Link try to get his hat back from three bullies and she said to herself, "I don't know what I'm watching here." As the bullies laugh at playing keep away with Link's hat, the brown hair boy shout, "GIVE IT BACK! MY MOM LEFT ME THAT HAT!" and that shocked Zelda as she said, "Link never told me where he got that hat of his." while Igiul said, "Your dead mom left you that hat, you mean." and this shock Zelda as Oiraw take Link's hat while mocking him, "You are a orphan like us, Linkly. That means that you got a dead mom and a dad whose never love you." Link said to the boys, "My dad got to be a adventurer, like I'm going to be when I grow up! I'm going to travel the world, battle monsters, and save a kingdom, just like in the fairy tales. A princess is even going to give me a kiss just like the happy endings." and Princess Zelda was shocked as she realized the truth about Link's self-centered personally and his desire for her kisses as Link was basically using their battles against Ganon as a chance to live off the childhood fairy tales that he hear about.
Oiraw and Igiul throw Link's hat to the pink hair boy and they both said, "Well then..." and they changed into a two headed Gleeok to Link's shock as they said, "Try to defeat this monster, hero." Link quickly said, "Oh, you has got to be kidding me." and the pink hair boy throw a kid size sword and said to him, "You are going to need this. Don't worry, as it can still fire sword beams." and Link said to him, "Thank you." as he pick up his sword. As the Gleeok heads split fireballs at Link, he quickly dodge them and fire a sword beam at the left head, which made it flying around as Link said, "I hate it when they are flying around." and run from the head as it mock Link with the voice of Igiul, "You are running away, just like you did when you left the orphanage." and Link shout, "I told you, I left to travel the world and find my father!"
As Link catch his breath after slaying the Gleeok, and Zelda was cheering for him, but have to stop in fear of him hearing her, but it would seems he didn't, the pink hair boy clap his hands as he and Link turn to their normal age and he said, "Well done, Link. I can see that you didn't get the fact that you were a orphan get you down just like me. You can have your hat back." As Link got his hat back, he then ask the man, "Hold now, how did you know my name, along with my bullies and the orpahnage?" and he reply, "Impa told me. I thought I needed to look into your past first before the others can have a turn." Link then ask, "Are you one of the past heroes?" and the pink hair man reply, "Yeah. You can call me the Hero of Legends."
Link continue on his way to the temple, just as Princess Zelda continue to follow Impa as the Hero of Legends said to a blond hair woman wearing a blue dress, "This take me back, Zelda. After I save you and the rest of Hyrule from Agahnim, I travel around the world for anything to make me feel better, and I find out that it was with you. I guess that my successor was too scare of not having a reason to stay at Hyrule for his princess that he allow Ganon to go free, since the gods want a eternal battle between the hero and the demon king."
Link find a one eye warrior in golden armor with strange marks on his face blocking a bridge and Link ask him, "Hey, can I pass, buddy?" which the warrior didn't reply and Link said, "Alright, pal. I hate to admit that you look almost handsome as me, but I need to get across." and rush toward him, only for the warrior to hit Link down on the ground with the hilt of his sword and said to Link, "Was that you can do?!? The one called Impa told me that the current hero would come here for my trial, but I see that he fail so easily! A sword wields no strength unless the hand that holds it has courage." As Link get up, he quickly understand that this warrior is one of the heroes of past legends and he said to him, "Okay, I'm not very good in close combat like you, as I mostly use my sword beams as well block any attacks on me, but I'm a great hero like you were, buddy. Who are you post to be?" The one eye warrior give Link a angry look and he then said, "I'm the Hero of Time, the first of us whose battle Ganon." and Link said in surprised, "Wait, you are the Hero of Time. You were the ancient hero of legends fought Ganon before. I hear stories of you when I was a young boy in the orphanage I grew up in. I wanted to be a great hero like you were." The Hero of Time said, "Great, you has meet me. Now, leave." and Link said, "Hold on, I come here to be trained by you and I'm going to leave now." which the Hero of Time reply, "Boy, your attutude and weak sword skills are a disgrace to my legacy." Link was taken back by the old hero words as the Hero of Time continue, "You must use your courage to seek power... and find it you must if you wish to pass me." Link nod and he said to the Hero of Time, "Sir, I didn't come to the Golden Realm for nothing." and the Hero of Time said, "Then allow me to teach you real sword fight. I swear that you fighting like a knight in a censor fairy tale for younger children."
Meanwhile, Princess Zelda and Impa continue on the shortcut when Impa stop Zelda and point to her, "Look." and the princess see a wagon getting robbed by a band of pirates. The princess said, "What are they doing? I know that this is the Golden Realm, so they are not in any danger, but should someone help them?" Impa ask Zelda, "Should you help them out?" and the princess said, "Fine. But this hero stuff is Link's job." and she run toward the pirates with her bow.
During a break on their training, Link said to the Hero of Time, "I guess that the Golden Realm didn't made me hungry here. I'm sure that Ganon will be really scared when he see me use your moves on him. He will never threated Hyrule again." and the Hero of Time said, "Link, you need to make sure that Ganon would never threated Hyrule by killing Ganon with the sword you seek." Link said to the Hero of Time, "Sorry, but I will be out of the job if I kill Ganon. Zelda would have no hero to protect both Triforce of Wisdom and Power, and I would never see her beauty face again. I would let Ganon keep his Triforce of Power as long as I get to have Zelda." and the Hero of Time shout, "If it was not for me, Ganon wouldn't have the Triforce of Power in the first place!" Link was stunned at hearing this before the Hero of Time calmed down and then he begins to explains, "When I was a boy, I lived in a forest with my father and my best friends. One day, Ganon, whose was just a monster with common magic, burn our forest burn for the wicked fun of it and my father was killed. I want revenge on Ganon so bad that I track him down to Hyrule Castle and meet the royal family. Their princess believe that Ganon was after the three Triforce at the time which was protected by the royal family, which were the Triforce of Courage, the Triforce of Wisdom, and the Triforce of Power. She and I hear to the chamber of the Triforce to make sure that Ganon didn't reach them first, but he was tailing us the whole thing." and Link ask, "Wait, was he hiding in Zelda's shadow?" and the Hero of Time said, "No, he was...." he don't know how to explain that Ganon was actually once a man that trick him into opening the gates to the original location of the Triforce but this boy got him a idea and he said, "He was acutally hiding in my shadow. When we kids got closer to the three Triforce, that was when Ganon appear to take the Triforce of Power and mock me with his evil voice that I have led him to the chamber of the Triforce and the Triforce of Power along with he owe ruling the underworld and then all of Hyrule all to me. Ganon escape back to the underworld with the Triforce and I was shocked over what I has done. I was soon taken by a sage and train for seven years to be ready for Ganon's return, which happened as Ganon was testing the Triforce of Power he has taken along with gathering his power in the underworld. I and the princess lead the armies of Hyrule to Ganon's lair, with the sword that you seek in my hand. With the sword, victory was near, but Ganon understood that weakness of all heroes and he use it before I could deliever the final blow." Link ask, "Was it the princess? Zelda seen to be my weakness." and the Hero of Time was about to correct Link that the weakness of caring for others but he did have a point so the Hero of Time reply, "Yes, we heroes can't let the fair princesses we protect come to harm way. Ganon fire a magic fireball at the princess and I rush to take the blast for her." Link said, "I know the feeling, in a way, and you got set to the Jar of Souls just like I did before Zelda save my body." The Hero of Link said to Link, "Unfortunate, I didn't have the same luck as you, friend, as my body become a undead monster that serve Ganon, but my spirit made to help the princess escape and she also cast a spell on Ganon that he would hit send to the Jar of Souls himself when struck by any weapons three times." and Link got worry as he said, "I thought Ganon was a pushover when he get send to his Jar of Souls, but I never knew that it was because he was weaker. Now, I'm starting to feel stupid, while he too was making stupid plans." and the Hero of Time said, "Well, our final battle was over thousand of years ago, and the Triforce of Power has made Ganon immoral but his old age was affecting his mind." Link said to the Hero of Time, "I guess I'm glad that I'm facing a Ganon that is stupid as his monsters." and the Hero of Time reply, "Ganon can be dangerous smart or dumb."
Continuing on the trail, Link find a river and he ask himself, "Okay, how can I get over?" and he overhear a group of boys and see what look four siblings wearing different colored of the same tunic talking to each other while a boat is nearby and he said, "Bingo." Link then walk over to four boys and he ask them, "Hey, can I have your boat?" The boy wearing blue said, "No, this is our boat."
Link and the four boys got over the rival on the boat and Link said as they get off, "That was a good idea to image that the boat can carry all five of us over. I like this Golden Realm affecting reality." and all four boys said, "We are glad that you think outside the boat for our trial." Link ask, "Your trial?" before he realized whose he could be talking to and said, "Which one of you is the hero?" and they all said, "All of us." and they soon merged before Link's eyes into a blond hair man wearing a tunic that is the four colored tunic stitched together whose said, "I'm sure that you were told of me, the Hero of Four Swords. My title come from a special sword I used on my adventures."
After a long journey and three tough trials, Link has finally arrived to a white marble temple and he said to himself, "I'm finally made it." and then he see Zelda and Impa arriving at the temple as well from a side path, which surprised Link as he ask the women, "Are you two okay? How did you get here so fast?" and Zelda answer Link's question, "We took a shortcut, and went through some crazy things on our way here. It was like I too was being tested." and a woman's voice call out, "That is the whole point, Zelda." and a blond hair woman wearing a white robe come out of the temple and said to the two, "Welcome Link and Zelda. I'm glad that Impa was successful in bringing you two to the temple." and Zelda ask, "Did Impa told you too?" and the Shiekah walk to the woman's side as she said to Link and Zelda, "Actually, I'm not your Impa, as she is still in your realm, helping keep the portal ready for your return." Both Link and Zelda was surprised and Link said to Impa as he ready himself, "You has to go through me if you dare threated Zelda!" and the princess was surprised that Link was protecting her just as the woman said, "Actually, Impa is a title for the Shiekah woman whose protect the royal princess and they were named after this Impa whose keep me safe during the early days of the Kingdom of Hyrule that was being built by me and my husband, the Hero of the Sky." Link said as he start to calm down, "Oh. I guess that is a understanding. I'm guessing that you are the first queen of Hyrule." and the woman nod and reply, "Yes, my name is Zelda of Skyloft." and the princess said in shock, "Zelda? Why do I have your name?" which Zelda said to the princess and Link, "It is tradition for daughters born in the royal family to have my name in honor, for I am the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia, and my blood run in you." This take Link back and he then said, "I guess that was why I was draw in to Zelda, as her divine bloodline trap in Hyrule." which Zelda said to Link, "Well, there is more than that, Link. My husband, the Hero of the Sky, is waiting for his trial by combat." and Link said, "Well, I understand that I can't keep him waiting. I'm ready to be the hero that he was."
Inside the temple is a area which Link come inside as Princess sit down with Impa and the first queen, whose said to a gathering crowd, "The trials of the Master Sword will begins. Our challenger Link would now face my husband and true love whose forgive the legendary Blade of Evil's Bane, the Sword that Seals the Darkness, the Master Sword." The princess said to Impa, "Link is going to boast about it for days when he get that sword." before Zelda continue, "Now, let the final trial begins." and a big red bird fly down inside the temple that Link got out his sword before he saw someone jump off of it and landed on the area. As the crowd cheer, Link was surprised to see that the first king of Hyrule as well the Hero of the Sky look so similar to him except for having blond hair as he said to Link, "Hello there, my name is Bobalink, or Link as my friends call me." and Link was surprised at hearing this as Bobalink explains, "I get that you are surprised about having the same name as me, but some boys are named after me. I'm a famous person, after all." and both Link and Bobalink ready for their duel.
As Bobalink was getting the upper hand over Link and Zelda got worried for his safety, the princess got up from her seat and run down, crying out, "Link!" As Zelda reach her hand out while crying out, "Link!" a bright light come out of her hand and everyone stop which Bobalink then said, "Well then, I give up." confusing Link at first before he see that the light was coming from Zelda.
As the pair hug each other, Zelda, Bobalinks, along with the other heroes and different women come to meet them.
As Link and Zelda walk in the fog covered woods to find the Master Sword, Link seem nervous and Princess Zelda ask him, "Link, what is wrong? You are not usually talking like you do." and Link said, "Well... I'm just wondering." Princess Zelda ask Link, "Are you asking me for a kiss again?" which Link reply, "No...." which shocked Zelda as Link has changed from the self-center boy she has knew he as before they enter the Golden Realm and she ask in worry, "Link.... tell me." and Link reply, "What we went through Golden Realm made me realized that I needed attention badly, so that was why I wanted to be the hero of Hyrule as people cheer for me, including your father the king and I hope you would, but the others take up the role for noble reasons. I have been nothing but a jerk whose care for his image and getting kisses from princesses like you Zelda and I once left the castle because you were falling for that guy that time." Princess Zelda said to Link to cheer him, "Come on, Link. That prince was a jerk whose care only for his image and you were not afraid of getting dirty." and Link said, "You are right, Zelda. Thank you, princess." and kiss her on the lips before he step back and said, "I'm sorry. I was not thinking right, your majesty." and Zelda said to Link, "It's alright, Link. You wanted that for a long time." which Link reply, "Yeah." as the two have another kiss for a little while.

Note
Describing it as being like home is actually pretty accurate yeah.
And YES! I am totally willing to talk about my modern AU.
I've been calling it the Adoption AU because Time ends up adopting all of the boys. It mostly started as, I saw an edit for a tweet someone did with Wars and Wild that involved Taco Bell (cannot remember the blog or post for the life of me though), and so I wrote a thing about Warriors sneaking out of his university dorm to pick up Wild, who snuck out the window despite his broken arm, and then got extorted by Legend in exchange for silence at 3am.
This was followed by a fic where Groose decided spray painting a public building was a good idea and got himself and Sky arrested, set earlier in the timeline.
So then I made a timeline. Twilight is Time and Malon's biological son, and he found Wild on the side of the road one day (Wild's backstory involves a bad car wreck and an underground hospital, but no conspiracy bullshit. Yet). Wild has no memory, so they keep him. Wild brings home Legend, who was told his uncle died at school before a holiday. They then also keep Legend. Malon finds Four in her barn one morning for complicated reasons, and they keep him too. Twilight finds Warriors, who is in his class, hiding in an alley one day after he ran away from an abusive home and brings him home too. SS Impa (who I've nicknamed Shield because there are enough prominent Impas here that they should get nicknames too) is a social worker who's trying to find Sky a home and has run out of options, and turns to Time, who has a record of successfully housing 'unhousable' youths, and asks if he can take one more. He can. Wild finds Hyrule and brings him home because 'Rule needs a shower even more than Wild does. Hyrule stays. Wind's grandma ends up with Wind and his sister but can't financially take care of both and so Wind ends up with the boys and everyone is +1 Grandma.
Twilight has a fic detailing how he knows Midna and Dusk and I ended up shooting him (oops) but at least their social project gets handed in on time.
Then I started hashing out Time's backstory and suddenly this AU had plot. And organized crime. And a conspiracy. And secret societies.
The summarized version is that the gems from OoT are like, Idk what they do yet. Haven't gotten to a point where I need to figure that out yet. But they are Important and have to be carefully guarded. The Great Deku Tree (just called Deku because he's not a tree here) was Time's foster father before Ganondorf killed him. Also, Ganondorf is Deku's half brother. Because. However Time 'stole' the Emerald and he and Navi ran until OoT Impa (Sage) and Lullaby found them. So Time got adopted into Lullaby's family. Ruto inherited the Sapphire from her mother who also died from mysterious circumstances, and Darunia has the Ruby. Lullaby got the Ocarina from her late paternal grandmother.
Then Ganon finds them and tries to steal the Emerald from Time, so Lullaby goes looking for help and thus finds the sages. Saria is an anonymous hacker who uses the screen name 'Kokiri'. Time reveals he didn't steal the Emerald, he was Deku's heir, and then Navi goes missing. Time is home worried enough that he's physically sick, and Ganon decides to try and attack the home. Only Lullaby's family is Olde Money, and they live in a big, old manor, so Lullaby as Sheik decides to play 'Home Alone' with the secret passages in the walls and they piss off Ganon because when did that brat get a sheikah bodyguard??? Sage and Rottla (Lullaby's mother, who is fully sheikah as well) rush home from a thing and Kokiri is running a play by play watching the security cameras.
I pull in my headcanon that Time was killed in the Downfall Timeline by getting impaled on Ganon's tusk and Ganondorf stabs him with the tusk of a mounted boar head and then Sheik shows up to protect his brother, and then Mama gets home and is not happy to find this man in her home attacking her kids. Time is fine, but Navi stays missing. (She's alive tho.)
Also, Time's foster dad was the last leader of a secret society known as The Order of The Lost Woods, and Time learns this upon meeting Tatl, who gets him sucked into another event that would probably make a good action movie. I have thought too much about the Order and it's hierarchy, but what's important here is that Time ends up with a standing job offer and Tatl and he remain friends and we find out how I fit FD into this AU. It's not pretty. This is where Time loses his eye too.
The AoC came out and I added that Link in as Wild's twin brother and he shows up during the main plot.
Which starts with Twi getting kidnapped. (I'm not really meaner to him than the others, I swear, he's just the most logical choice to be Time's heir. Which he is. He doesn't know this though.)
So he's kidnapped by Ganondorf, who broke out of jail, Zant, who shot Twi in highschool, and Ghirahim, who has some history with Sky I haven't fleshed out yet and a very public rivalry with Warriors over twitter. About six weeks later Sage finds him in an abandoned warehouse (because of course) with a shackle on his left arm and a lot of new injuries. He ends up fine, but he tells Time later in the hospital what happened and he's both message and messenger and Time is this close to just committing murder. Tatl talks him down.
Somewhere here is the half finished fic where I introduce AoC Link as Luke/Knight, and this is as far as I've plotted thus far.
Other tidbits: Wild and Lullaby/Sheik are both genderfluid, Lullaby/Sheik married Ruto, Wild has a very popular YouTube channel, Twi does drag racing sometimes, Sky has a pet bird, Four has DID to explain how the Colours are here too, and Wolfie exists in the form of a random wolf-dog Wild found and brought home that Legend somehow convinced half the family was Twilight. Also, Warriors has somehow befriended an entire sorority and he doesn't know how this happened.
This... got long. As you can see I have a lot of thoughts about the Adoption AU. It's gotten a bit away from me, I'll admit. This went from 'Wild does stunts on his motorbike and keeps breaking bones but somehow not the bike' to 'Twilight got kidnapped and Time is the target of a mafia that Ganon runs and also maybe killed a man once' and I don't know how that happened. Also, this is the condensed version of the summary. My actual summary/outline is much, much longer than this. So if there's any detail you want more on, feel free to say so and I'll happily go into more detail (there are so many things I didn't even mention....)
And yes, Robbie having a bong is very important to my best friend, for some reason. He has one in a modern AU and he probably invented one in canon. I happen to agree that this makes sense for his character, if anyone would invent a bong in LoZ it's Robbie (this is such an anticlimactic end to this ask after the stuff about the modern AU...)
Also, sorry for the long ass ask. I genuinely don't know how to condense the Adoption Au down any further. There's a lot of important plot beats to cover, and I still skipped things.
-Attllhak
oh my GOD???? if you ever write and post this somewhere id love to read it, the level of "crazy" conspiracy/action movie elements implemented sound sosososo cool, from Ganondorf being Deku's half brother to trying to "send a message" via Twi and- just- all of this is SO good.i sat here and reread this ask like 3 times as if that would magically spawn more info about it ahaha
there's so much to unpack here but it's honestly so worth it i love every single detail!!! i can imagine the actual outline being way longer, nad honestly that just makes me the more excited/curious about all that might be missing from this ask - i cant believe it started with Wild and Wars going to Taco Bell of all things
also i can totally see Robbie making a bong, no matter the setting or AU. fits him a lot I'd say
and dont worry about long asks!! i adore opening up my askbox to see one ask take over the entire thing, it makes me really happy aha

What Goes Unseen
Linked Universe Time Warriors and Legend angst to sort of fluff?
They all have secrets. That much is a given, and sort of hard to miss, given the way Four clams up when asked about his moods, how often Wild has to just... stop and leave and come back to himself when they pass ruins sometimes, or the way Twilight vanishes without a trace to go off doing Hylia only knew what.
And that wasn't even touching on the walking enigmas Time and Legend could be, so sure. They all have their secrets. Even bubbly Wind and soft spoken Sky. Secrets, secrets everywhere, in plain view or otherwise.
But something about Wild’s Hyrule has been eating away at Warriors for weeks. Enough that Legend has even noticed his change in mood, his disinterest in most of the things he normally jumped at.
Enough that the veteran adventurer surprises him by pulling him aside to talk in the guise of a patrol, enough that he wears Warriors down with enough pointless questions that the knight just explodes to ask him what the hell it is he wants.
"Somethings been on your mind for almost a month. You're starting to scare the old man," Legend says bluntly, "I didn't think you could top that "launch tree into bokoblin camp and rain fire from above" heart attack you gave him, but here we are. What gives?"
For a moment, Warriors just stares at him, because firstly, how dare he insinuate that that plan hadn't worked perfectly outside of the landing, and secondly, since when did you pay that much attention to me?
He huffs.
"I'm fine."
"Uh. No."
Worth a try, anyway, Warriors thinks, turning away from the scrutinizing eyes of the young man across from him.
Legend notes the way his fingers dig into the blue cloth around his neck, and sighs, gesturing to a fallen log.
"Sit," he says, "tell me whats bothering you. If its got you like this, it warrants a serious talk, without pretense."
"Didn't know you knew such fancy words."
"Don't make me take it back and kick you in the shins."
Warriors has to laugh at that at least a little, so he sits, as instructed, and watches Legend plop unceremoniously into the mix of leaflitter, pine nettles, and flower petals on the forest floor.
He's still fidgeting with the scarf, and the words come slowly at first, then frantic and almost angry.
"My mother used to tell me, you know.... that there are stories, in the absences. In what we don't see. And- the more I look around, the more I see you- all of you- in Wild's Hyrule. Goddess, you're all everywhere.... but-.... out of the nine of us, there are only eight call backs. Even Wild's got his own legends already. So I can't help but wonder--..."
"Where you are."
"Where I went! What happened? Did- did I fail, somehow? Did I do something wrong? There's nothing left that says I ever even existed!"
"You existed to us. To Wild, to me, and Time, and Twi and the others. Between all of us, there's no denying that you were here."
Legend realizes belatedly that he's only just barely fended off a fit of sobs from the knight, and counts himself lucky and also gives himself a brownie point or three for the save, just before he recognizes the familiar thwacking and tramping of bronze armor against offending tree branches and leather boots on forest floor somewhere behind him.
He feels the heat come through his voice before he can stop the words from coming out of his mouth.
"Besides, you didn't completely fuck a timeline, then leave another to Ganon for seven whole years, now did you? Too busy cleaning up other people's messes."
Time froze as his foot settled on the line of the clearing they were in, and the pregnant silence in the moment it took him to school his voice into something normal made Warrior's skin crawl it was so uncomfortable.
"..... T-There you boys are.... Twilight was--.... he was getting worried. I'll tell him you just .... stopped for a break."
He turned on his heel in a perfect about face that made Warriors knight-side a little jealous, but the rest of him looked to Legend, who was avoiding the direction Time had gone entirely. Realization dawned a moment after.
"......... that was cruel, Legend..... I didn't want you to make me feel better if you were just going to tear him down. Or tell his secrets."
"...... if I'm honest Wars? That last jab was more for my sake than yours."
"What?"
"Whose timeline do you think his failure ruined?"
The sharp intake of breath on Warriors part told Legend he'd picked up on all the appropriate cues.
".... that's one of my secrets, for spilling his to you, I guess. I don't know if I'm ever gonna be able to forgive him. But hey, since when has Hylia ever cared what we thought? Probably hasn't since Sky...... the point is, you aren't a failure for having to pick up after everyone else, and then not getting thanked for it. You're like that with all of us, too. Constantly doing things hoping someone will at the least notice. I noticed. All of us have. You're a goddamn hero, same as the rest of us, and the only reason your scarf isn't locked up in a chest out here somewhere is probably because you wouldn't part with that thing if it cost you your freaking soul or something. Duh."
Its quiet for a moment, and Warriors takes the time to look down at the blue around his neck a moment before smiling.
"..... you should apologize to Old Father Time.... but you're right.  I guess its still all in the things you don't see at first glance- I never would have thought you a confidant. You might find out some interesting things about him if you sat like you did with me."
"Id rather eat one of Wild's disgusting potions made out of butterflies and lizalfos."
"Don't jinx yourself, Vet."
"Shut up."
~~~~~
Legend was going to murder Warriors.
Don't jinx yourself my ass, you set this up, you sorry-- he cut his own thoughts off to hiss under his breath.
Not only was Legend laid up with Time looking out for him as first watch, but he'd had to drain four of those nasty freaking potions.
"I hate. Lightning. So much."
Normally, that would have earned him a chuckle, or at least a sympathetic hum.
But Time just turned his head towards a darker section of the underbrush that Legend knew for sure he absolutely could not see anything in.
Was it the being ignored or the uncertainty and hurt in Time's expression that made his stomach twist?
"I said--"
"I heard you, Legend. I'm sorry, I didn't think you wanted to speak to me."
"...... oh..."
The simple acceptance of Legend's earlier ire pulled all of the heat right out from under him, and he deflated some into his bedroll.
"........ I am sorry.... I know it doesn't mean much to you, but... I am. Even the sword didn't think I was good enough, and judging by your reaction, it was probably right."
Legend winced.
"What kind of bullshit cop-out is that? The sword doesn't make you a damn hero, it just points and grabs like a stupid claw game."
"Success, does, then. And that is a baton I clearly didn't pass to you, that I missed out on passing down peace..... it eats at me, some nights when I can't sleep, that I still managed to grasp at straws and hold so tight to so much good that I got to keep it. And I doomed you. I have everything and you were left wanting."
Legend stared at his back, the way he bent around the biggoron sword leaning into his right shoulder to be drawn if need be by his left hand.
"Im afraid I'm going to lose it all one day because I failed you so badly."
"I'm not that pitiful."
"Legend-"
"Look, I'm fine--"
"What was her name, Legend?"
The air left Legends lungs in a sudden, sharp breath.
"..... That's what I thought..."
"...... you were ten, if that..... yes, it sucks, and time travel is a pain, but you were fucking ten. Hylia sent a ten year old, let his tree mentor die right in front of him, and then continued to traumatize- REPEATEDLY traumatize- a child. Yes, I'm angry. Bitter and jaded, even. But don't you dare get so self important that you start thinking the blame fits on your shoulders. You're an old fucking man, not a god."
"Interesting choice of words...."
"No. No, because you're just gonna start unloading more trauma. If this is about that creepy mask, then no. That doesn't count either!"
"You're awfully concerned about this particular issue.... alright, I'll let it drop--"
"No, you ten year old little brat in a mentally fifty year olds achy jointed body, you're gonna go the fuck to sleep and stop moping. Its my turn to take watch and I'll be damned if I have to sit up watching you get all weepy into your pillow and trying to snitch Wild's slate to call your wife at two in the goddamn morning. Go to bed!"
Time stared at him in surprise, (the ten year old in him in question seriously debating biting the finger wagging in front of his nose) before Legends phrasing hit him.
"Oh, I’m going to absolutely kill Warriors for telling you about how I was when we met."
"Brat! Bed! Bounce to it, bunny hat kid!"
"You are the last person--"
"Bed!"
"Alright! Alright! Fine! You're lucky I don't fit those masks anymore," Time muttered, picking himself up off the stump to go peel off his armor and crawl into his bedroll. He was silent as Legend pulled himself into the space he'd emptied, then sighed and smiled.
"..... thank you, Vet."
"Yeah yeah yeah. Go to sleep before you wake up Twilight. He has ears like a fucking wolfhou---....... oh my goddess you're kidding me."
"Shhh."
"Goddess I hate you sometimes."
Warriors, apparently woken by the hissing through Legends teeth, chuckled to himself.
Its all in the things you don't see, I guess, he thinks.
Secrets secrets, everywhere, but.... together, we're all still here for each other. I can live with that.
"Good night bratty bunny and feral bunny."
Two furious choruses of "HEY!" were the perfect lullaby for Warriors to drop right back off to sleep.
Yeah...
He could definitely live with that.
Linked Galaxy - Where Loyalties Lie
It’s here! I’m very sorry for the delay. As I stated on my Tumblr I was very sick and midterms are coming up so overall... livin la vida loca. I hope you enjoy my first chapter of Linked Galaxy, my Star Wars AU for Linked Universe! I would like to say again that Linked Universe was created by Jojo @linkeduniverse, and Star Wars is owned by Disney. I in no way take credit for either, however I worked very hard on the headcanons for this universe and to combine the two together in my story of Linked Galaxy. But neither are mine. I hope you enjoy!
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away
After the death of his master, Sith Lord Ghirahim has recieved a way to travel across not only dimmentions, but time itself. Seeking to manipulate the strange wormholes for his own bidding, Ghirahim searches the new lands in hope of harnessing this power.
A new empire is born… The United Realms.
Only one band of heroes can stop him, a band of nine Heroes of Courage brought together by Hylia from nine different times. All of the Hyrule Galaxies now lay in their hands.
But unknown to all, a far more sinister being is pulling the strings of United Realms’ and our heroes’ actions.
~
“Faster you imbelces!” Commander Bulblin snapped. He couldn’t believe how he was stuck with what had to be the most incompetent portion of Ghirahim’s army. It was most likely some punishment from Ghirahim for Bulblin ‘speaking out of place’ in a gathering. Bublin scoffed. The only reason that man had an army in the first place is due to the death of their Emperor, and he dared to call Bulblin disrespectful? Bulblin never even fought under Ghirahim, he was from a different Hyrule! Apparently, all Ganons had been killed by a Grey Jedi, all sharing the name Link. Just that name… Link, sent rage crawling up Bublin’s spine. It was because of those so called heroes, that he was stuck working under Ghirahim in the first place. Why was this Hyrule the only one with a Ghirahim? Not only that, but he expected an army that wasn’t rightfully his to go on some interdimmentional quest, to take over the nine Galaxies that they now had access to? It was a ridiculous notion, one that the other commanders and generals seemed to share save a few others. General Zant didn’t seem keen on the whole ordeal, but that man would do anything for power and could not be trusted. Bublin sighed and continued on with this ridiculous job. He just had to lay low for now.
~
Taking over all nine Hyrules wasn’t the only goal Ghirahim had in mind. He needed to bring back Ganon. He needed to bring back his master. Emperor Ghirahim sat on his old Master’s throne in contemplation. The guards had gotten used to his angry mutterings by now. In order to truly bring the Hyrule Galaxy to its knees, all of them, Ganon would need to be resurrected. He could do it himself of course, but Ganon had authority Ghriahim knew he would never gain from his armies.
He had split the armies into nine, based on the Galaxy they were from. It made the most sense.
The Seadogs were from the realm of the Hero of Winds. They were quite stupid, but loyal to their cause. Ghirahim usually put them in the Tie-fighters and smaller fighting vessels. They knew how to fly and they were expendable to boot.
The Fallen were from the Hero of Hyrule’s time. They were absolutely vicious, the most focused in bringing their Ganon back. Ghirahim had never known the hero’s blood was required to resurrect their Ganon, but let them bleed the little brat dry for all he cared.
The Oracles were from the Hero of Legend’s galaxy. They were an interesting group. Absolutely hated the hero and wanted him to suffer. Ghirahim could appreciate that.
The Savages were from the Hero of Wild’s world. World, because the monsters apparently were not even aware there was a galaxy outside their world until now. This portion of his army constantly gave him a migraine. They were so smart but so stupid. They had never taken an actual order in their lives.
The Accursed were from the Hero of Time’s galaxy. Relatively useful, compared to some others Ghirahim couldn’t complain as much. Like the Oracles, they were hellbent on destroying their Link and any happiness he had.
The Twili were from the Hero of Twilight’s realm. Obviously. They were ruggish and quite frankly scarier than most of the other armies. They, at least, knew how to follow a commander, even if that commander was a bumbling fool.
The Shadows were from the Hero of the Four Sword’s galaxy. Ghirahim thought the name was underwhelming, but apparently the dark world in that galaxy was strongly entangled in the light, so Ghirahim let it slide.
The Shattered, the Hero of Warriors’ galaxy, was who Ghirahim suspected were responsible for the wormholes in the first place. However none admitted to it, so he didn’t even think they knew what was going on either. There were hoards of them that never seemed to send, they were certainly an asset.
The Skybreakers, the damned Hero of Sky’s adversaries. The little brat had the absolute audacity to still be alive, and now he had teamed up with more children. Ghirahim wouldn’t stand for it. The name had spread like wildfire, Ghirahim didn’t know where it came from but it spread fear, and that is what’s important. When one of his first class ships broke through the atmosphere, they would scream about the Skybreakers. Ghirahim loved it.
Ghirahim was broken from his musings by the opening of his door.
“How many times have I told you idiots to knock?” Ghirahim snapped, cruel eyes bearing into the souls of his useless guards.
“Apologies Lord Ghirahim.” the guard stuttered out. Ghirahim was technically Emperor in his master’s… absence. But everyone still called him ‘Lord’. Ghirahim didn’t correct them, he didn’t think Ganondorf would appreciate it if he thought his apprentice was attempting to take his throne for good. “General Zant demands your presence, my lord.” The guard finished.
“He demands?” Ghirahim questioned, poison lacing his words, rubbing his fingers along the cool metal of his lightsaber.
“That is what he said, my lord.” The guard confirmed, and Ghirahim rolled his eyes at the man’s cowardice.
“Send him in and get it over with.” Ghirahim commanded, marching up to the throne. He plopped down carelessly, crossing his legs and leaning against one side. Ganon used to tell him that it didn’t matter how you sat on the throne, what mattered was how much power you displayed. The throne itself was intimidating, but if the man or woman sitting on it commanded attention as well, anyone would bend the knee.
The grand doors opened slowly to reveal the large man, that ridiculous helm covering his face.
“What, Zant?” Ghirahim demanded before the man even approached.
“My Lord, may I just say I respect how you are able to command all nine armies at once-”
“Don’t flatter me you coward. Tell me what you want.” Ghirahim ground out impatiently. If he was in the mood he would tease the man, get him wound up. It was so easy to torment Zant, but Ghirahim was not in the mood.
“Do you think it wise, to continue to hop through strange wormholes? There is no guarantee they will open up again.” Zant finally spoke up.
“Our engineers and scientists are working everyday to harness the power the wormholes provide.” Ghirahim said flippantly.  n
“Yes, My Lord, but if before then we get trapped in a strange Hyrule?” Zant questioned.
“Then we will take over that Hyrule. You seem to forget we are not the only ones traveling through those wormholes. The heroes are as well.” Ghirahim spoke with venom.
“Why do the heroes matter. Should we not hope to be rid of them?” Zant attempted to ignore the dangerous look in Ghirahim’s eyes.
“According to the Fallen, we need their blood to raise Ganon again. That is our main goal, Zant. If we need to move to other realms to do it we will.” Ghirahim could feel his blood beginning to heat at the countless questions.
“Will any of it matter if we get trapped in a different galaxy? In a different time?” Zant’s voice was getting louder.
“I have the chance to take over nine realms at least.” Ghirahim began, practically growling. “And you want me to give up because of your cowardice?”
“You misheard me, My Lord.” Zant tried desperately to recover. “I only want what is best for the United Realms. But… Ganon is gone, My Lord. Perhaps it's best for him to rest in peace so we may move on.” Zant waited with bated breath. If possible, Ghirahim’s eyes turned even more cold. Under the steel gaze of his superior, Zant felt ten times smaller.
“I believe I like you more as a coward, Commander Zant.” Ghirahim snarked, reminding Zant of his rank. “You forget yourself Zant, Ghirahim leaned forward in his throne. “Without Ganon… you are nothing.” Ghirahim snarled. “Get out.” Ghirahim commanded, voice neutral and cold, so unlike his normal self. Zant looked like he was going to argue, neutral face twitching slightly behind his mask, before he turned and left without a word.
Ghirahim contemplated what Zant had said. If the commander himself thought this way, Ghirahim could have even more disloyalty than he originally thought. He would have to take care of this. Ghirahim could feel it in the air… disloyalty.
~
Sky took a large breath, allowing Hylia’s energy to surround him completely. The room he normally shared with Four was pitch black, but that didn’t matter. Feeling close to the energy around him was all it took to be aware of his surroundings.
He could feel the other's presence upon their old ship. They had all pitched in to restore this old hunk of metal to… well not the prettiest thing in the galaxy, but it fit them all well enough.
Sky reached his mind through Hylia’s energy. He could feel Hyrule resting in the room he shared with Wild and Legend. He must have trained hard today for him to be resting in the afternoon. Sometimes it felt as though Hyrule, Wild and Wind all had an infinite amount of energy, Sky was glad Hyrule was at least taking it easy for once. He reached further down the hall. Across the hall he could feel Wind and Warriors’ cabin but no one was in there.
Sky took another deep breath and felt the waves of Hylia’s force extend to the rest of their ship. It was a simple exercise, one that younglings were taught at the academy, but it was good practice. Wind and Warriors were in the lounge, probably playing Dejarik at the holotable. Wind was most certainly cheating. He continued his exercise, finding Wild’s energy in the bottom turret. The boy enjoyed gazing out into the stars. He had never thought there was an entire galaxy outside his planet when he had met the others, and that had blown the other Link’s minds, even Hyrule. Apparently the only remnants of magic and technology in his Hyrule were from the Sheikah, who had died out millennia ago. Now the boy watched the galaxy outside constantly. Anytime they needed to find Wild, they knew to look in all the windowed areas first. He would get tired and stressed staying on the ship for too long, so looking at the stars helped him pass the time, as he told Sky one evening.
Sky felt a slight prod at his own energy. Time must be doing the exercise as well then, probably in his and Twilight’s room. Sky reached out and greeted the man, smiling when he received a greeting back, albeit a little weak. Sky may not fully understand where Time’s previous hatred of Hylia has stemmed from, but he came from a different galaxy, Sky would most likely never comprehend what the other man had gone through. He was working to strengthen the bond again, but only enough to help them on this quest.
Sky then moved on and felt Twilight and Four’s energy. They seemed to be in the cockpit chatting with Legend. Sky didn’t let himself linger on Twilight’s energy for too long. Something about it was just… off, and dark. Sky trusted Twilight with his life, and knew the other Link would tell them if something was wrong or when he was ready. Still though, it made Sky uncomfortable. The same with Four. It wasn’t dark, his energies were just fuzzy, like there were puzzle pieces all smashed together. Legend’s energy was always interesting as well. The young man was experienced and his energy showed that, but there was also the feeling of melancholy all the other Links had. Having them all in the same room while Sky was focusing so intently gave him a small headache, so he retracted.
Sky opened his eyes after one more deep breath, allowing his energy to flow free once again. A slowly stood from the smooth floor and stretched his legs. He always lost track of time whenever he meditated, but feeling the other’s presence had reassured him he didn’t miss anything. His door slid open as he approached, he barely ever locked it. Sky decided to go see what Warriors and Wind were up to. Walking down the half barren halls, he smiled at the art on the walls. When they fixed the ship, yet to be named, the halls were completely barren and militaristic. Wind had decided they would need to fix that. Every Link was tasked with putting something on the wall. Some were complicated designs, others were just handprints or finger drawings. Sky thought it was Wind’s best idea yet.
Sky approached the lounge and chuckled at the bickering he heard. Wind must have been caught cheating. Again.
“You can’t prove shit!” Wind yelled across the holotable.
“I don’t need to, kid. I know you!” Warriors snarked back. Sky wasn’t surprised to see Warriors wearing his scarf, even without his chainmail. The royal blue scarf contrasted greatly to his blank cream tunic, but in the couple of months he had known Warriors, Sky had barely ever seen the man without it. Sky worried it had something to do with the war that Warriors was forced to fight, and the nightmares and blank looks the man would fall into, but he never asked.
“What’s that supposed to mean? How would I cheat with a holotable?” Wind demanded.
“It means you were taught this game by pirates, kid. Your piece was over here, and now it’s over there.” Warriors pointed to parts of the board that Sky couldn’t see. “I’ll give it to ya, kiddo. If I wasn’t so observant I wouldn’t have noticed.” Warriors smirked.
“Don’t preen yourself.” Wind grumbled.
“Having fun?” Sky spoke up to make his presence known to the two boys wrapped up in their argument. Wind and Warriors whipped around.
“Hey, Sky.” Warriors greeted. “You wanna play a round with the pirate?”
“Maybe later.” Sky chuckled, sitting down next to Wind.
“Where is everyone? It’s dinnertime soon.” Wind questioned, glancing at the small clock displayed near the bottom of the holotable. They had been in the ship for about 24 hours now, clocks were the only way to keep track in space.
“They’re all chatting or relaxing. I’ll call down Wild.” Sky stood up and walked  over to the wall comm rotating the slightly rusted top wheel from ‘All’ to ‘Lower Turret’. “Wild, it’s almost dinner time.” Sky called while pressing the comm button. There was a pause, then a crackle from the other side of the speaker.
“Sorry, Sky! I lost track of time.” Wild spoke loudly into comm. “Oops I yelled again.” Sky let go of the button to hide his laughter. Coming from a world with no ships, comms, or any other technology outside of the old Sheikah tech, the boy had trouble remembering that comms picked up more range of sound than even regular talking.
“No problem, Wild. I can make dinner tonight if you want to keep stargazing.” Sky teased, knowing his offer would be refused instantly.
“No no! I’m coming!” Wild assured before the other speaker went dead. Sky laughed, moving the wheel to ‘Cockpit’, then ‘Cabin 2’ to notify the others as well. According to Warriors, comms had advanced far past what they had on their ship. Now there were programs to send to designated locations all at once, among other functions. The ship communications themself weren't that big of a deal, but Sky worried what that increase in technology meant for the UR’s weapons and ships. Especially now that there were nine different armies they were facing. With a quiet slide of the door, Wild raced in and ran to the small corner that was their kitchen.
“Sorry guys!” Wild apologized, pulling what little ingredients they had out of their metallic cupboard. They would have to stock up soon.
“It’s fine Wild, you have plenty of time.” Warriors reassured. The others tried to offer to make dinner, but Wild enjoyed it so much they eventually stopped offering almost completely.
Time came in next, eyes still a little foggy from meditation.
“Where is everyone else?” Time asked.
“Legend, Twi and Four are on their way, and Hyrule is resting so I figured we would give him a little more time.” Time nodded, moving to sit at their meal table that barely seated them all. Everyone knew how hard Hyrule pushed himself. He had the rare gift of healing, a combination of magic and energy that was almost extinct, in all nine galaxies at that. Apparently the more he used his magic, the better he got and the more stamina he gained. That combined with Legend training the boy how to use elements of the Ataru fighting style was sure to be tolling.
“Hey all!” Twilight called as the doors slid open, followed by Legend and Four.
“Where’s Hyrule?” Legend frowned.
“He’s resting. We wanted to give him a bit more time. You can go wake him if you want, we just thought we’d give him some more time.” Sky told Legend.
“Wild, how long until dinner is ready?” Four questioned.
“Ummm, about 20 minutes. Sorry I got a bit of a late start.” Wild apologized, mixing ingredients so quick the others had no idea how he wasn’t spilling.
“Relax, Wild. It gives Hyrule more time anyway.” Warriors assured.
“I’m gonna go get him. Best to give him time to wake up before he eats.” Legend claimed as he left for their cabin, flipping off Warriors behind him when the other man coughed out what sounded suspiciously like “mother hen”.
“What’s for dinner Wild?” Four asked as Legend left.
“Omelets if that’s alright. I know that it’s more of a breakfast thing, but I think the cucco eggs will go bad if I don’t use them soon.” Wild explained.
“That sounds really good actually.” Twilight nodded, although to his hollow stomach anything sounded good. Wild relaxed significantly, as if he’d been scared of the other’s reactions. He wasn’t as skittish as he used to be, but he still struggled to feel enough around the other Links, even with simple tasks.
The Links settled into comfortable chatter, around the table as Wild made different kinds of omelets. The door slid open once again a few minutes later, revealing Legend and a groggy Hyrule in tow.
“Hey Hyrule.” Time greeted casually, not mentioning the deep nap Hyrule had obviously just woken from. If the boy was actually resting, Time didn’t want to push it by bringing it up.
“Hi.” Hyrule greeted with a yawn. “What’s for dinner?” Hyrule called over to Wild.
“Omelets.” Wild said simply, fully concentrated on seasoning the food in front of him.
“Nice!” Hyrule called as he sat down, shoving his way next to Legend, leaving just enough room for Wild. Ten minutes of idle conversation went by before dinner was finally ready.
“Dinner’s ready!” Wild called, hefting a large plate filled with Omelets over to their table.
“Hylia, we had that many eggs?” Four asked, shocked.
“Yeah we had a lot more than I thought, but they were all going to go bad soon so I had to use them.” Wild clarified again, setting the large plate in the center of the table, squeezing into the last space around the table. The others practically drooled at the smell and sight, herbs that they didn’t even know the names of partly covered the perfectly cooked omelets.
The other Links barely took turns digging in, the sound fighting and clashing forks and loud laughter echoed in the small eating nook. The looming threat of the United Realms could be forgotten for now, even for an hour or so. They all felt it flowing through the energy, flowing from each other… loyalty.
Was it cheesy to start this with “A long time ago in a galaxy far far away”? Yes. Was I legally obligated to? Also yes. And yes they still use minutes in space don’t @ me lmao. I hope you enjoyed!
Death would be better ch.1
Who loves angst!! linked universe mixed with the fallen timeline. Warning for philologically abuse and mental manipulation (also some light reference to attempted suicide)
-
Link struggled very weakly as he spat up a bit of blood, the demon king likely destroyed one of his organs with the throw he was just given.
‘The demon planned for this’ Link thought as he struggled to move trying to raise his head to glare at the bastard. He had been waiting in the temple, and Link hadn’t even noticed until it was too late. By the time the stones were put into place, Link found himself being thrown across the room, hitting one of the pillars.
The Gerudo king went into a room, likely what held the Triforce from what he heard from Zelda. However when Link felt the burning in the back of his hand in the shape of a triangle he knew his fate was sealed. Link would die at the hands of Ganon, the little glow on his hand says it.
“Navi, find Zelda. Tell her what happened. Please.” Link begged his little fairy friend to abandoning him; he knew he wouldn’t be able to get up in time and make his escape.
Link had to smack Navi to get her the courage to run away. Ganon finally came back into the room, glaring at the little hero who just glared back. This was the hero's death but he wouldn’t give Ganon the satisfaction of knowing he's scared.
Just then the Demon King glare becomes a smile, making Links glare falter; Navi had taken this moment to try to fly out towards the window.
Ganon snatched the fairy as she tried to fly secretly by the king…...Then he crushed the fairy.
“NAVI!!”
-
“NAVI!” Link screamed jumping up out of bed, breathing heavily trying to catch his breath.
‘It’s just a dream, it’s just a dream’ Link tried to say to himself, trying to calm himself down….’but it wasn’t a dream’.
Link could feel the heavy chain around his ankle that’s other end was hooked to the bed, a measure that was taken after Link had tried to jump out of the window.
Link didn’t know why Ganon hadn't killed him, honestly he wished he had been killed, it was better than the hell he was in now.
Ganon had been playing the role of Link’s ‘adopted father’, caring for him, trying to keep him to eat. He knew that Ganon was planning something big by keeping up his act. If it wasn’t for Link's fading memory maybe the traumatized child would have believed him.
The thoughts of his memories made Link curl back onto the bed trying not to cry. There are things he should remember, places and people that seemed so recognizable but yet their names escaped him, and soon after the faces would become a blur as well.
His latest frustration came in the form of a goron, a big chief with a big belly laugh that could shake death mountain but yet when he tried to remember his name it came up a blank; the details of his face slowly blurring in his mind. There was no doubt that if Ganon brought end for another ‘healing session’ the gorons and death mountain would be nothing more than wisps of memory, begging for attention from the back of his mind.
Link curled up into a tighter ball, the movement irritating the wounds on his arms showing the many attempts to end his personal hell.
‘Why couldn’t Ganon just kill me?”
-
“Why do you bother keeping the kid around?” “Yeah you should have just killed him” Koume and Kotake muttered to the Gerudo king from their brooms, as the gerudo king did everything in his power to ignore his mothers. He deals with their whining everyday so the ignore was par for the course.
“Answer before we poison the boy” Koume said, flying closer to her son, who glare intensified with threat.
“You know damn why, if we kill the brat his soul will just be reborn. It will be impossible to get rid of him, like a cockroach” Ganon said with a sneer.
“Then why are you playing house? Why waste all these resources?” Kotake joined in obviously plotting to kill the child.
“Because imagine what will happen if that little brat is on our side?” Ganondorf said with a twisted smile “A young scared child toss by the side by the goddess. Eventually he will question what’s real, he will eventually give in and accept what fate has in store. Can’t you just imagine it?” Ganon said stretching his arms wide across the map of Hyrule. “Power and Courage both under my control, and my would-be-killer taking my word as law”
“So how long are you planning on playing house?” One of his mothers asked but Ganondorf had no idea which one.
“Until his mind finally breaks and he accepts his reality” Ganon said turning around to glare at his mother “It would be easier if two certain witches didn’t keep overloading his brain, nearly killing him” The two witches just rolled their eyes.
“Leave me be” Ganon said, turning back to the map as he gestures for his mothers to leave him be. Being left alone with his thoughts he started to review his plan. It would take a little more to break the little one’s spirit, but he knew he was on the right path. Grabbing the Triforce of power gave him a glance into the timelines, he could see what that child would become. That child's fate if he doesn’t die was to become a great warrior, something that could defeat a god. Why not mould that would be hero into his army's most powerful general?
Speaking of which it was time to visit his son.
-
“Wake up my prince” Nifari said, throwing open the curtains of the room. It had been pleasant being moved into the wonderful castle, however her job had been assigned looking after the young adopted hero.
The young hero curled up under the covers trying to hide away from the world. The Gerudo smiled as she put down the breakfast porridge on the side table as she pulled the covers off the child.
The young warrior smiled as she physically helped the child move into a sitting position, it slightly broke her heart. Their king told us the story of them taking their rightful place in the castle. However she couldn’t help her heart breaking when Ganon told us the story of this little child. The child was cursed by the hylians to only see the evil in the world, filled with paranoia and fear. Maybe her smile and kindness could help break the stupid curse.
“Come on, it’s time to eat” Nifari said as she grabbed the bowl offering a spoon full of porridge to the child. Sadly the child moved away his face away, making the gerudo face drop; she had noticed how much weight the little boy lost. “Come on our little sun, eat”
The young gerudo words were cut off by the sound of a door opening, she looked up to see the king entering. She sat down the food and bowed towards her king.
The King all but ignored her and went to his adopted son.
“Hey Link, how are you feeling?” The male gerudo asked as he went to go put his hand on the boys head. Link quickly moved away as best as he could, avoiding eye contact. The king just seemed to sigh before taking a glance over the boy.
“Has he been eating?” Ganon asked the gerudo in change of the prince.
“No sir, I’ve been trying to get him to eat but he won't,” Nifari said with her head down wondering what punishment might await her. However the king didn’t give her a punishment, instead turning back to the child.
“You need to eat, Link. Why aren’t you eating?” Ganon said in the softest voice he could, however that didn’t stop the kids from flinching away.
"I don't like it" Link whimpered out in a gravely voice that just sounded like it hurt his throat. Ganon expression read of shock, he had been convince the hero was mute, after his scream for his fairy the boy hadn't said a word, not a peep. However to Ganon this was progress.
"Well we can make something you like. What do you want to eat?" Ganon said in a voice used for kids, not knowing how insulting the little hero found it.
"I want meat. Steak, chicken, meat" The hero stated as he stares at the king. The king noticed how the boy scratched at the wraps on his arm, his past attempts with anything sharp.
"No" Ganon states clear as day "Your past behavior shows you can't be trusted with sharp objects. You will stay on soup and portage until I know you won't hurt yourself" Ganon lost the harshness in his voice trying to take on a softer tone "I'm sorry I can't do that. Is their anything else I can do to make you happy?"
Link's face just held a glare in a way Ganon couldn't read.
"I want Navi" Link states with as much confidence as he could. He knew what he was doing, he was trying to poke holes in Ganon's story, trying to make him mad. Maybe in the end Ganon will finally just snap and end his torment.
"Alright, I'll asked her mother if she can spend the night at the castle, I know you miss-" Ganon went off happily, as if it was the easiest request he had heard.
"No!" Link screamed "I want my fairy!"
Both Ganon and Nifari were taken aback.
"Link...there was never any fairies. Fairies don't exists" Ganon said softly.
"No!" Link screamed out jumping up from the bed "She was my fairy! My Guide and you stole her from me! You killed her!" Link made a jump at the Gerudo king however Nifari had grabbed him trying to hold him back.
The boy screamed many different things, mostly horrible names towards Ganon as tears ran down his face.
"Your majesty what's wrong?!" Nifari screamed out in a panic as she held the screaming boy to her body.
"This might be from the curse the Hyilans cast. We need to get my mothers in here" Ganon suggested.
At the suggestion of Ganon's mothers Link screaming turned up by 50%, full out flailing crying and screams for help. It had gotten so bad that Nifari  had to take some steps back or risk Link breaking out of her hold.
Right next to the bathroom's glass door
Link saw his opportunity so he reached his head to one side before swing it into the door.
CRAAASH
Link felt warmed and light headed, he could hear screaming around him but he didn't care as the darkness took hold.
Somewhere in the land a portal open up and 9 adventures with the same name stepped through.
The Link's walked through the portal, confused on which world they were in now.
"Does this look familiar to anyone?" Legend asked as they took at the dark sky. Many nodded no.
Time couldn't help a gut feeling he had as this hyrule looked so similar to his after his 7 year nap. But something in his mind was telling him it was much worse.
Ganondorf’s phone call
(Inside the throne room of Ganon’s castle, Ganondorf is addressing Bowser and K Rool. He is telling them his story of his last battle with Link.)
Ganondorf: So I threw the catle at him! The whole castle! True story!
Bowser: Oh my god, that is so funny!
K Rool: (Drinking Milk) You made it come out my nose!
(Ganondorf chuckles to himself when he gets a call in his castle phone. He pushed the button to answer.)
Ganondorf: Call for Ganondorf, King of Evil and Lord of Darkness?
Answering machine: You have a collect call from: Ridley (Ridley Screeches)
Ganondorf: Ugh, hang on, I gotta take this. Hold on. (To Ridley) Ridley! How’s my favorite space dragon?
(Ridley begins talking really fast)
Ganondorf: Woah, woah, woah, just slow down. Huh? What do you mean “They blew up the Halberd?”
(Ridley tells Ganondorf the bad news, he curses multiple times to himself and slams his desk)
Ganondorf: Who’s “They?” What the hell is a “Phantom Thief?!” *Sigh* Ok, ok. So who’s left? Are you shitting me? Well, where are you? Wait a second, you’ve been flying around for 2 weeks trying to get a signal? Ugh, you must smell like, Bokoblin wrapped leathery, burnt bacon!
(Bowser and K Rool and look around awkwardly as Ganondorf and Ridley continue to talk)
Ganondorf: Oh, I’m sorry, I thought my “evil space dragon commander” could protect a small self destruct button that’s only 2 inches big! That thing wasn’t even fully paid off yet! Do you have any idea what this is gonna do to my credit?
(Suddenly, another call comes in)
Ganondorf: Ugh, hang on. I got another call. (Changes line) What? I’m very busy right now.!
(Octavio is on the other line, pick up lunch. He called to ask what Ganon wants)
Ganondorf: Oh, well, where are they going? Huh, alright, uh… Just get me a turkey club. Uh, coleslaw, I guess, I’m not even gonna eat it. What, what are you getting? You see, I always order the wrong thing.
(Bowser tries to get Ganon’s attention, but K Rool signals him not too)
Ganondorf: No, no I’ll just stick with that. Ok, bye- wait what? Oh, uh cherry coke. Yeah, thanks. (Switches back to Ridley) Sorry about that.
(Ridley continues talking to Ganondorf)
Ganondorf: What? Oh, “Just rebuild it?” Oh, real fricking original! And who’s gonna give me a loan, jackhole, you? You got an ATM on that Meta Ridley skin of yours? NOW GET YOUR 20-FOOT RAGE-FUELED DRAGON ASS BACK HERE, OR I’M GONNA TELL EVERYONE WHAT A WHINY BITCH YOU WERE ABOUT MOMMY BRIAN, OR MAMA MIND, OR WHATEVER THE HELL HER NAME IS!
Ganondorf: (To Bowser and K Rool) Oh jeez, he’s crying!
(Bowser and K Rool snicker to each other as Ganondorf gets back on the phone)
Ganondorf: Hey, hey, hey, come on. Don’t do that, just. Look, I’m just going through a lot of crap right now. Halberd blown up by a bunch of damn brats, y’now, I didn’t mean to snap. Ok, ok, just get back here, ok? Ok, ok, goodbye- What? Uhh, I… (ILoveYouToo).(Hangs up)
Theory Series: “The Irony of Vaati” (MASTERPOST)
Here are the links to all 57 Parts of my "Irony of Vaati" theory series!
1. CARDINAL DIRECTIONS In which, the symbolism of the directions North, South, East, and West in "The Minish Cap" and "Four Swords" is brought up.
2. VAATI AND THE NUMBER THREE In which, I point out a lengthy association Vaati has with the number "three".
3. TEMPERAMENTS In which, I put Vaati, Ezlo, Link, and Zelda into the Four Temperament Ensemble.
4. SAGES VS. MAGES In which, the in-universe Sages and Mages attempt to have proper definitions as titles for Ezlo and Vaati.
5. PERSPECTIVES In which, Vaati's perspective changes to reflect what form he's in and what-not.
6. HIJACKED BY GANON In which, why Vaati being hijacked by Ganon was fitting for his character.
7. THE DARK TRIAD In which, I discuss how truly evil Vaati actually, technically, is.
8. STRANGE CASE OF DR. MINISH AND MR. HYLIAN In which, I compare Vaati's sorry tale to that of Dr. Henry Jekyll's.
9. EYERONY In which, I point out a possible joke with Vaati's Wrath.
10. TIMELINES In which, I wonder how Vaati dying in "The Minish Cap" meant he was alive in "Four Swords" and "Four Swords Adventures".
11. VAATI AND THE ELEMENTS In which, I speculate on why Vaati doesn't have a single Water attack.
12. ENSEMBLES, SEASONS, AND PLOT In which, I compare Vaati's many forms to the Elements of "The Minish Cap".
13. MINISH WONDERLAND In which, I point out why "The Minish Cap" fits "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" better than "Majora's Mask" does.
14. A BETTER VAATI? In which, Link is speculated to be a better Vaati. It makes sense in context.
15. HANDEDNESS In which, what hand Vaati uses is theorised upon.
16. VAATI AND SWORD-FIGHTING In which, Vaati winning the Sword-Fighting Tournament might not have been from him cheating at all.
17. SEVEN DEADLY SINS In which, Vaati displays all seven of the Seven Deadly Sins, including the often-forgotten eighth one.
18. ACTS LIKE HE'S THE BEST In which, Vaati has either an Inferiority Complex or a Superiority Complex.
19. BOOK-ENDS In which, I point out all of the Book-Ends in "The Minish Cap".
20. VAATI'S ZODIAC In which, Vaati's possible Zodiac Sign is found.
21. REINCARNATION In which, I point out there is no humanly way possible that Vaati is a part of Demise's curse.
22. SASSY OR SPOILED? In which, Vaati is either sassy or a spoiled brat. Pick your poison.
23. VAATI AND KING DALTUS In which, I hopefully bring an end to the completely nonsensical debate that Vaati "possessed" King Daltus.
24. TRANSFIGURATION In which, I point out some ironies with the "wishing" aspect of the Magic Hat, and other little things like why Reborn uses Fire.
25. VILLAINOUS VAATI In which, I use an argument my 12th Grade English teacher had to support why people, such as myself, are fascinated by villains like Vaati.
26. A STEP TOWARDS HIS GOAL In which, I ask whether or not Vaati even liked being human.
27. APPEARANCE-WISE In which, I wonder if Vaati thought up his Hylian disguise or if his wish did.
28. VAATI AND PATIENCE In which, I see how much or little patient Vaati can be.
29. MARK OF VAATI In which, I speculate about the mark under Vaati's left eye.
30. VAATI'S RIGHT EYE In which, I speculate about what the deal is with Vaati's right eye.
31. SELL YOUR SOUL? In which, I speculate if Vaati's left eye mark and his right eye have something to do with eachother.
32. NAME ORIGINS In which, I discuss the origins of Vaati's name. Quite simple, really.
33. VAATI AND THE GREAT DOOR PROBLEM In which, the best/worst theory happens: Vaati's plan to get to Hyrule inadvertently creates a gigantic Plot Hole involving the Elemental Sanctuary.
34. DISGUISE FAIL In which, Vaati's ears give him away as a Minish. It makes sense in context.
35. LANGUAGE DIFFERENCES In which, the different translations of "The Minish Cap" changed how Vaati acted slightly.
36. "EZLO'S FLASHBACK" IN GERMAN In which, I point out how different and great the German Translation of the "Ezlo's Flashback" scene is.
37. PAINT IT GREEN In which, I point out why Dark Hyrule Castle was painted in greens.
38. FANCY CLOTHING In which, I point out Vaati's fashion sense from the perspective of a Minish.
39. PERFECT FORM In which, whatever form of Vaati's that he considered his perfect form is brought up.
40. WISH FOR THE LIGHT FORCE In which, how Vaati could have won the game instantly.
41. THINK-THROUGH In which, the things that Vaati didn't think completely through come back to haunt him.
42. KNOWN POWERS In which, I list all of Vaati's known or implied powers.
43. PICORI VS. MINISH In which, a line Vaati says in "The Minish Cap" inadvertently creates a Plot Hole involving the species name of the tiny people.
44. VAATI AND EZLO In which, the theory is on how strained Vaati and Ezlo's relationship was.
45. ON VAATI'S FIRST DEFEAT In which, some deep irony is found for Vaati's defeat in "The Minish Cap".
46. AN AESOP In which, I compare Vaati's sorry tale to a Fable by Aesop.
47. WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER In which, I compare Vaati's sorry tale to a song by The Police.
48. MINISH PHYSIOLOGY In which, I point out that the Minish have some things in common with other rodents than just mice.
49. VAATI'S WORDINGS In which, the meaning behind Vaati's final line of dialogue got warped by the many different translations of "The Minish Cap".
50. SIZE OF THE MINISH In which, I give the almost-exact measurements that a Minish is in height.
51. VAATI'S FEARS In which, what Vaati fears is speculated upon. Exactly what it says on the tin.
52. TENACITY In which, I see just how far Vaati was willing to go to accomplish his goals.
53. ONE TRUE GOAL? In which, Vaati's one true goal- his number one plan and wish- for himself is discussed.
54. VAATI'S HAPPINESS? In which, just how happy Vaati was is wondered about- and there's this rant about masks. It makes sense in context.
55. ARCHMAGE In which, the German Translation of "The Minish Cap" inadvertently helps a joke in the French Translation; and also adds a pun in the English Translations.
56. SORCERER'S APPRENTICE In which, I compare Vaati's sorry tale to a poem by Goethe.
57. THE "EVIL IN THE HEARTS OF MEN" INCIDENT In which, I theorise on what exactly led Vaati to become obsessed with evil in the first place, and it's an outcome I never expected at all.
I liked the style of X/Y but I don't think it'd fit a LoZ game. I have entirely forgotten the looks of whatever came after. A Link between Worlds was... I won't say ugly because I do like it but, different. It was clearly the new version of aLttPs style, and that alone was enough for me to like the style. And the Maiamai were so cute, the annoying little brats. Getting themselves stuck in hard to reach places and crying about it. (1/5)
i liked the x/y overworld look, but to me all the 3d pokemon models just have this... lifeless quality to them or something, idk how to explain it. tbh it’s weird bc it’s gamecube but i liked how the pokemon looked in pokemon xd: gale of darkness lol. they actually look like they’re solid and a part of the environment they’re in. maybe it’s bc nintendo hasn’t updated the 3d models in a while that makes them look pasted in to me, i’m not sure. again, i liked the albw overworld look (and it was cool how they did the slanted top-down perspective in 3d!), but i thought the cutscenes looked a little goofy bc of the character models. but yeah i love those maiamai, i would die for their annoying asses fdkjsghkf
I know there’s a map for LoZ1 in Hyrule Historia, I’ve used it before. My mom got me LoZ2 when it was rereleased for the GBA, I played once. I do like the odd references to the game, such as the names and ‘it’s a secret to everybody’ but my do I dislike the game itself. I was alive when the 3rd and 4th games were released but only just. My mom bought a SNES when I was like 5 and I've been hooked on LoZ since. It's been a while... (2/5)
aww, it’s so cool that your mom got you into zelda! my first video game was pokemon sapphire on the gba sp (it was a blue one). my mom learned to play pokemon so that she could help me when i got frustrated :’) and now she plays animal crossing so i help her with that. i’m glad i played zelda ii bc completion and the references are cool, but yeah it was just like, too hard in a not-fun way, but in that how-did-that-even-hit-me way lol. i don’t play very “hard” games tbh (maybe hollow knight? idk if people find that hard), but with most newer games the difficulty is intentional and not caused by the engine being weird (cough super mario sunshine). i like that nintendo games are so accessible, that you can decide whether to take on additional challenges or not
If it was about making clear they were just infected they should have altered the first and fourth boss too, but they didn’t. I do remember people saying Goht and Gyorg were very difficult and with the time limit it was a bit of a hard task. Their dungeons weren’t the easiest either, especially the water temple was a maze. But the original battles were so much more fun because they were hard, so I’m still bitter. Also, nostalgia. (3/5)
i think that’s fair, to me the boss battles didn’t leave that much of an impression, but if i had grown up with mm i’d probably notice the difference. like, i get why they didn’t actually render all the friend areas in the new pokemon mystery dungeon remake, but for me i remember being little playing it and i loved going through the actual camps seeing my teammates. so just having a menu feels like a letdown. nostalgia’s a valid reasoning tool imo and it is weird that they didn’t change the first and fourth bosses
Honestly, I would hate for LoZ to go actually realistic. While I love the way the FFVII remake looks I can’t imagine LoZ like that. But if it’s Zelda I’ll play anything once no matter how ugly I think it is. Nintendo doesn’t seem to have any plans for a new console yet so we might be in luck. Personally I’d rather have SS or the Oracle games rather than TP but they do love TP the most. It’s already been released for three consoles so what’s one more, right? (4/5)
honestly same. i know some people really want it, but for me hyrule warriors is abt as “realistic” as i want zelda to look (and i thought the twilight realms looked really cool in that game. i’d just make them slightly less colorful for an actual tp remake). i’d like it if nintendo focused on remakes for a while during this pandemic... i could be wrong but i’d think remakes are less work than a brand new game from scratch. ss and the oracle games are so underappreciated :’( idk how they’d have to reconfigure the motion controls for ss but i’d love to see it in hd. and the oracle games could be combined somehow... we’ll see. that one picture of mario in shorts eating a watermelon made everyone jump to sunshine remake, we’re all so desperate lmao
For BotW, I do hope it won’t be the whole game with Link and Zelda. Part of the ‘epicness’ of the games for me comes from the whole doing it alone. I’d love for the dragons to play a bigger part, of even for their existence to be explained. Ganon looks a lot like the WW zombies though, and those are even worse than the OoT ones. So I’d really rather not. But yeah, pulling whatever he is now from wherever he is now will probably involve loads of redeads. Woe is me. - Pokenon (5/5)
agreed! i still really want playable zelda, and i’m mainly a zelink fan lol so i like seein em together, but having zelda around the whole time would kind of kill the vibe bc every two seconds i’d be like “look at how cute she is!!” so i’m curious how it’ll play out. i’d like to see parts of the game with them together bc the only other game that did that was spirit tracks (also underrated...), but i feel like they’ll be separated somehow. i definitely wanna see more of the dragons. and tbh it does seem like we’ll be getting some undead action, i’m sorry. u can do it, i believe in u
also this is unrelated but a question for ALL the nintendo ladies out there: who do you wanna see in smash?
[ @pristinette / —–  COLOURS  ]         A C C E P T I N G !!
Lapis Lazuli & Malachite
lapis lazuli: does your muse prefer the idea of exploring the depths of the oceans, or the boundless expanses of space more? malachite: has your muse ever done anything that they winded up feeling incredibly guilty for in the end?
Tumblr media
GOD people are asking all the RIGHT questions. bring it.
LAPIS LAZULI: alright.. before i get into depth about this. perhaps i will answer this directly. if he had to PICK between the two -- probably the oceans. he’s jsut better equipped, you know? but that being said. let me talk about this cause these are to VERY different things!!! and he would want to explore both of them.
first off: it’s really easy to describe what the oceans are. so i won’t really elaborate into them. but honestly for me the oceans signify the already KNOWN. like lost treasures & buried ideas. thats what i would want to think of the ocean as. ( cause space would then obviously signify the UNKNOWN & what is yet to come ) for link, the oceans are just something that is more comprehensible/tangible for him.
Given that he’s explore the water temple & has garb that can let him breath underwater??? he actually ENJOYS exploring underwater!!! it’s very refreshing and nice. sometimes, NOT often, but SOMETIMES it feels nice to just be in the water you know? its like you’re floating. though he DOES feel like he’s suffocating from it to but not always there’s jsut moments that its hard for him to naturally do compared to on land but??? theres so much stuff to explore???? so much to unveil, its all quite interesting for him. it sates his thirst for wanting to uncovering stuff. leave no stone un-turned as you say. but its more than that, you can find lost secrets in the depths of the oceans.
THAT being said.... space?? i suppose let me explain. cause it’s not the literal aspect of space like astronauts & what not. i am looking at the time-space continuum. you have to look at LOZ in general though. its more like the flow of TIME on land -- not outer space. ( though DID YOU ALL KNOW THAT!!!! BOTW Guardians.... were gonna be aliens??? from outer space???? ). you have such an extensive history in a HORIZONTAL aspect of it. like its all happening in one space, one land -- you aren’t looking at other planets perse, but you ARE looking at other lands ACROSS TIME. hence, for this discussion of ‘space’ im looking at it in that aspect for link. since -- you know -- time is very much a heavy theme for the Zelda Franchise. so yea....
link in general GETS that opportunity to explore time travel. though its not at ALL like how Time!link gets to explore it. But the Temple of Time is such an important aspect to look at cause YES. you are travelling back in time!!!! and for that?? link is so CURIOUS. cause it’s no longer the ‘KNOWN’ for him. it’s the UNKNOWN. he’s not looking at history like he is with the ocean. there’s so much that he doesn’t know that doesn’t fall under his era ( and that he SHOULDN’T really try to be nosy about cause it’s not in his jurisdiction!! ) but its more than just like... time travel.
i talked about it in my last post too but... exploring the idea of the unfathomable? the heavens? like that’s what it means to explore space for link. & as much as he would LIKE to, it kinda???? scares him??? it really is the unknown. he doens’t know how to grasp such ideas sometimes!!! not that he doesn’t want to... but honestly.... i think he would prefer the ocean because he... feels more comfortable and familiar with it.
MALACHITE: IM SCREAMING BECAUSE YES YES YES YES!!!!!!
and i am running out of time to talk about it cause i have work again sOON... honestly if anybody ever wants me to talk about it??? let me know!!! i am more than HAPPY to talk about it!! but you know what... let me just briefly list all the stuff he feels guilty about ( & more or less regrets doing sometimes )
killing ganon. never finding the courage ( thats so funny.... ) to tell midna how he felt about her. letting things happen the way it did to the village brats not being good enough
honestly... as much as i want to say he doesn’t actually truly regret anything that’s happened -- cause, you know , things happened & you cant change it -- he really.... sometimes does wish things happened differently. no, none of what happened has him hating life. please don’t think that. HOWEVER, he has such a heavy heart. things have take such a heavy toll on him that he... is in so much pain. and as much as i would like to go into more depth about it... i cant at the current moment ( im SORRY ) but asdlfh honestly.... link has so much guilt okay? and maybe he doesn’t have regret for a lot of the stuff but he’s not that innocent little country bumpkin that everybody loves.
like ive said before and always will say -- link is SUCH a complex character. you can’t just.... generalise him cause his personality and who he is as a hero give him SO MUCH more. and you know what. he’s actually a walk in the park COMPARED to ganon. I don’t know how complex zelda is -- cause she is -- but link is EASY compared to the wielder of POWER. god, i cannot dive into ganon cause he’s so damn difficult. he’s a hard muse and anybody who would want to RP him. sign me the fuck up for that cause hella.... but anyway.... i digress.....
link.... has guilt...a lot of it. so... yea... anyway i gotta go now...pce my dudes. ♥
Note
This the angst anon back again to request those headcanons about each champions final moments at the hands of their respective ganon-blight.
Why do you guys hate yourselves this much??? WHy do you hate my heart this much??? (jk I got you fam)
I’m going to do a special format for these, so tell me what you guys think!
Final Moments (Champions)
Urbosa - Failure. She had failed them. Her people, Princess Zelda, Link. Riju. Precious Riju- the guards will watch over her, but even then, if only she could know how proud her mother was of her. Her honor may have been stripped from her, but if she could not be victorious in life, than she’d simply have to reclaim it in death. As the life drained out of her fallen body, broken the ground, she gave a final smile. This would not be the end of it all. The fight would continue.
And she would be there to witness it.
Mipha - Sorrow. There was no escape for her here, pinned against the wall as the final blow came at her. Father, brother, teacher- ‘I’m so sorry, I have failed you...’ No amount of healing could stop the fate that had fallen upon her. Link- please, Link- come and stop this darkness from hurting her family, please. And when she was dead, and he stopped this darkness, she’d heal him from the great beyond to ensure that there was a chance to heal the pain her death had caused.
Revali - Legacy.  Would he be remembered as a fallen hero, or as an arrogant man who got the ending some he thought he deserved? Staggering, his wings are too destroyed to be able to avoid the next -last- attack, but he was a warrior. If he could not fight back, then he would stand against death in defiance. He would not be known as the coward who begged, who cried. No. He would be the warrior who upheld the Rito way to the bitter end. That brat- Link, he would set things right. He knew it. This fight would not end here.
Daruk- Family. He’s laughing from the ground, stuck watching as that final blow comes straight for his face, nailing that final nail in the grave. He may not survive this, but his family? They would. And they would continue to live on this mountain. And fight back. Will he survive this, no. But they will. And they will continue the ways of the mountain long after he is gone. And they would remember he went done with laughter, knowing that when he fell, he would still live on in them, and the darkness? It would fall.
