It seemed no important or fan based game was on at the moment, which Haleh had to admit she was grateful for. She wasn't a huge sports fan, though she had to admit that the lively atmosphere was more often than not a nice one to be immersed in. Tonight though she was too worn out to want to listen to sports fans yell at the tv or buy rounds of beers when their team was doing well. Her mother's hospitalization had left her exhausted. Sleeping in a chair and eating tasteless hospital food on top of the underlying panic each time the machine beeped took a lot out of her. "Can I get a beer and a shot of patron please?" she asked the bartender as she hopped up on one of the stools by the bar. "How would you say the fries are? Anything is probably better than vending machine food but humor me."

PICKING UP FROM HERE • @lincolnandrewscott
It felt as if the world was sitting on Libby’s stomach, as if water was coming in at full force and there was no way to stop it. She was drowning. And she had caused all of it. That she knew. She was well aware that this had to be all her fault. She couldn’t blame anything or anyone, but herself, and that’s what made it all even worse. Libby was supposed to be someone that helped Lincoln through the pain, not be the one causing it. She could tell his eyes held a mixture of pain, anger, disappointment, and more emotions she couldn't even decipher, and they were staring right at her.
And did she want to seek him out over the last ten years? A part of her did, but she fought so hard to find her peace that she didn't want anything to jeopardize that, no matter who it was. Sending him the divorce papers was her way of hammering down the final nail in the coffin that held her past. It didn't cross her mind that Lincoln would ever find her, or want to find her after everything she did to him. Libby could process neither what she was feeling nor what she was thinking. Confusion, if nothing else, was consuming her. The fact that he'd be here in Merrock was so far-fetched in and of itself in her mind. "No, you don't have to do that. This is my mess," Libby spoke, her voice laced with confusion as a frown etched itself on her features. She was barely out of the aisle until his words stopped her, her head turning back to look back at him. "We should what? Talk?" she asked with an edge, but it was mostly harmless. Feeling too overwhelmed with everything that had occurred in the last few minutes, she took a breath and crossed her arms over her chest. Remembering that Lincoln wasn't just anyone, she let her face soften. It was almost basic instinct for her to express herself in the rawest, sincerest way possible when she was around Linc, because she still had that trust there. "Sorry, I didn't mean for it to come out like that." she sighed, pausing briefly before speaking once again. "I have no reason to be mad at you. I'm the one that left." Libby let silence linger between them as she bit her lip once again, perplexed. "Do you want to go back to my place?"

PICKING UP FROM HERE • @lincolnandrewscott
Merrock was a small town and its inhabitants loved to gossip, so Zoey already knew that there was going to be whispers about who the new guy in town was. "Homecooked meals made by your mom is such a comfort," she smiled at the other before shrugging her shoulders up a little bit. "Eh, the accent was a little clue. And the fact that I haven't seen you around before."

Merrock was kind of that town where everyone knew everyone, so it was always a treat whenever Xander could cross paths with someone he hadn't seen before. “Nice,” Xander spoke, leaning back against the booth he was in as he continued the conversation. “My mom’s a chef so I’m always biased to her food. I take it you’re a momma’s boy, too?”

I am incredibly serious right now when I beg you all, please, and if you have Twitter or Tiktok or whatever to please spread the word: click on an author's profile on Ao3.
You want to know if an author has written more? Want to know if they're still writing? Want to see more from them? Want to know if they've written a trope or kink or sex scenario you enjoy?
Click on their name. And look at their profile.
I cannot tell you how many times in the last six months someone has read a new or newer fic of mine and said they (a new reader who has read nothing else I've done) "can't wait to see what you do next!" I've written 50+ fics and over a million words already.
"I don't know if you're still writing..." click on my profile. I am. I literally wrote a 128k+ fic for that ship last month.
"Would you ever do X?" "Please do Y!" I already did. Click on my name and look at my works.
Archive of our Own is a library. It's an archive. Not social media. It is your responsibility to fight back against the laziness that corporate algorithms have trained into you.
Click my author name. Just click it. Just click it.
Before you demand more, or ask if a writer will do XYZ, or wonder if the author still writing, or anything - click on their profile. Click on the author's profile.
I'm not trying to be mean or condescending or anything like that. I'm just exhausted. It's disheartening and frustrating to repeat myself ad nauseam, because someone couldn't take thirty seconds to do the tiniest bit of work to see if I've written lately, if I've written more for their ship, or scan my works to see if I've written what they're asking for. Please. Please. I'm begging.
Click the author's name, and explore before you ask.

Look at this cool new t-shirt I made for fans of Abraham Lincoln! I made it on my own time, with my own resources, and without any affiliation to existing public or private institutions concerned with history, education, hospitality, culture or retail. You can find it at my new Threadless shop or directly at bit.ly/imissabe

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Lincoln, I thought it'd be weird if I let Valentine's Day pass by without getting you something, so I thought this olive branch decor piece would be appropriate. I've always loved what they stood for and I think this is my way of telling you that I'm done running from the past and I'm ready to work towards a better future. For us together, for ourselves individually, for our loved ones. Hope you have a good day. @lincolnandrewscott

In the beginning of The Good Place, Michael doesn't know that no one has gotten into the Good Place in over 500 years. Arguably he doesn't know every single person who got into the Bad Place, or he would have figured out EVERYONE is there, but it's so funny to me when Eleanor asks who is in the Bad Place that would surprise her and without hesitation, Michael tells her "every US president except Lincoln," which implies he's either straight lying to her (in a situation where he's trying to convince her this is real, saying Lincoln is in the Bad Place might give it away? Saying he is in the good place makes it more believable? He had to pick one (1) person to exclude to make the rest believable and chose Lincoln?), or he doesn't THINK he's lying to her. The latter is infinitely funnier to me. He's either never seen Lincoln, or Lincoln isn't in the Bad Place.
And I can't tell which is funnier: that he did indeed go to the Bad Place but escaped, or that he went to the Good Place, but there's no record of it. No one knows where he is, just that he's not in their place.
That, or he never died.
