I found this game only today, but I am already devouring it. I love the choices we get, and how unnerving mc gets to be. Also love the single mom, she's the real hero. There's something so very delicious about playing an MC that always feels out of place, but also so extremely magnetic. I absolutely love the writing, and I at first wasn't sure about the interview portion, but they are such a fresh and amazing idea. I found myself looking forward to some more future tidbits throughout playing. I love all of the band members too, they're so chaotic, it just feels right.

thinking way too hard about things that probably do not need this much thought

In lieu of tfc merc brainrot, I have decided to do some historical research and character workshopping to shape out the details of everything needed in ficwriting. I have nothing else to post (my art is not going well) so I might as well scream about this

P1: TF2 alternate history bullshit

Abraham Lincoln inventing rocket jumping before the existence of stairs, the entire thing with Australium, so on. Despite TFC having modern kevlar (as opposed to looney toons weapons, but a bit about that later) and a more serious/gritty tone, the setting is still within the TF2 universe; which means having a weird fusion of irl history and vaguely reasonable fantasy absurdities.

To clarify, I am not a bona fide history nut who knows absolutely everything (ffs my own country's history doesn't even play much in western incidents). I've just been doing research thru online articles, videos, and talking to other ppl who know more than me, so my brain can lack a bit for certain things; do correct me if I get anything wrong.

By the 1850s (estimation) Australia became a tech giant due to discovering Australium, making insane progress in basically every field (and also making their population very jacked). Newfound inventions also require raw resources, and this page confirms that australians pick their leader mostly based on pure strength, which begs the question; are they still connected to Britain? Would there still be a benefit for them to be linked to Britian the way they are?

There are many cases where nations plunder other nations just for natural resources; Britian is one particularly infamous force with many colonies, which makes me wonder if Australia ever resorted to snatching them just to afford all the material components that their tech requires. Australia was part of the British Empire up until 1901 irl (not too far from 1890), but the question about resources and sovereignty(even if symbolic) still remain (Britain likely wouldn't like a territory growing at terrifying and eventually unmanageable rates, and at that rate I doubt Australia would settle for middling trade margins)

There's also the ensemble of first gen mercs. RED and BLU recruit progressively less important mercs as time goes on, starting from important historical/media figures, to modern militant professional-lookin dudes, and finally to the current crop of crackheaded TF2 mercs we know and love. The Original mercs I mostly want to focus on are Abraham Lincoln and John Henry.

I'm not exactly sure if John Henry is even a real person, but he was a symbol for labor movements and the civil rights movement; the fact that he IS a real person in TF2 lore is p vital methinks, especially since him and Lincoln seem to be on the same team. Mercs are paid a lot, even the "bottom of the barrel" tf2 ones: scout has his merch collection to show for it, medic has his exotic animal parts, heavy has his gun ammo (and also casually gave a child 7k dollars), etc; could John Henry have spearheaded civil rights movements not just in America but also other territories (like africa) with the bread and merits he got for the job? Does he have a legacy with rouge merc groups (armed unions?) that fight against imperialism? Maybe even effect/radicalize Lincoln about some things??? Unethical business practices still persist even in Saxton's era (hell, he's an example) but maybe the (hypothetical) challenges to Britain's grasp on its colonies and evolution of munitions would give the people an edge.

I have no idea how a drastically colony-less Britain would affect the timeline of WW1 (esp in less popular side-wars like in South Africa where Britain was very much involved, which may be problematic since my interp of cmedic is FROM there but anyways) (btw they only won that bc they out-attritioned Germany, but by that point maybe the dutch or the americans would take over), but surprisingly enough WW2 ends at around the same time it does irl, despite my initial thought that a roided-out Allied Australia would be more than capable of turning the Axis Powers into a skidmark. The likely explanation for that is that the finer details were just not important for the tf2 comics that took place AFTER (fair enough), but as someone planning to write the 1930s mercs . Pain . My working explanation is that seemingly unaligned private contractors can get ahold of weapons easier than Certain governments, which makes mercs more popular than national soldiers for carrying out certain missions (plausible employer deniability baybeeee).

P2: Conflicting class meta - CHeavy edition

Onto something less heavy, another part of ficwriting is figuring out how characters are...characterized. The TFC mercs dont have much canonical info (I've already turned two of them into straight up ocs because I am NOT going to write p3dos from start to finish of a longfic) so I settle for looking at other things, like gameplay and ingame roles.

The first I focused on was cheavy, the leader of the group. Grouchy, but a surprisingly tolerant team player.

This IS reused from a previous post (im lazy) but the first bullet basically says "otherwise, offensive heavies are frequently looked down on and the power of the other team's defense will have you dead in no time". Gameplay-wise, CHeavy is considered the simplest class and the easiest one to master; most tfc gamers think its a common noob pick. His total health is pretty good, he occupies a big space so he can block narrow paths, and the way he attacks is simple; but he's slow even when b-hopping (grenades cant boost him either) so he can be outrun/picked apart by other classes, which really shows in tfc's most popular game format: capture the flag.

I've seen about a handful video of tfc gameplay that WASN'T ctf (or the slightly diff gamemode with a defense system), and even if the 4th bullet point is right, those two classes are usually doing more important things during ctf. My main point is that despite being the leader, he isn't the type of class to lead the charge.

The most reasonable thing I can think of is that he's just . Really good at strategy and can keep track of his team while reliably holding down a position. That, and his superior bulk makes him shine more outside of the gravel pits. Whatever it is, it does make more sense to me now that I revisit the comic panels where he is VERY spiteful that his teammates got killed (rather than calling them weak, they fr matter to him bc otherwise, he isn't getting shit done)

(Ik the reason hes the boss is bc big scary dude and karmic ass-handing via other heavy who actually respects his doctor but shh the fic demands reasons)

P3: Conflicting class meta - Cmedic edition

The contradiction I can immediately clock is the fact that cmedic never gets mentioned despite his omnipresence in his original game. Most hc's I've seen interpret him as the exact opposite of the current medic, which is a dedicated doctor who also happens to be a sweetheart (with very rare exceptions), but may I propose the theory that all mannco medic mercs are bastards? I'm 99% sure that the original medic was sigmund freud. TF2 medic is just a menace. Post WW1 most moral and noble medics would bust their asses at hospitals rather than sign up to a contract tying them down to just healing 8 other people and killing other people over and over, but that's just my hc (we're all making shit up, might as well have fun with it).

The most common citing for cmed's hidden menace energy is his virus weaponry, but I think his ingame role also shows it pretty well. Practically taking the scout's niche and making it less punishing by having straight upgrades of his two weapons, giving healing utility AND also being able to sniff out spies like a cscout (he can't diffuse bombs or trail caltrops, but he's already powerful as is). Imagine being cscout, having to compete for flag capture points with this guy who practically has everything you have but better (instead of leaving behind super visible spikes he has a college degree). This isn't even like the modern sniper vs spy debate where it can still be debated that spy has a unique niche with his mindgames, cmedic just straight up took copied his homework, 98% percent matching on the plagiarism bot.

Cscout and cmedic beef is very likely, but if cscout is a literal god at what he does then there won't be much issue, since the best cscout is ultimately better at flagrunning than cmedic. Its likely that cscout is simply human tho, so that's some drama that can happen.

Funnily enough the tfc class that gets the most weight and hate on its shoulders is sniper. This is because servers have a limit on how many snipers can join, and if a shitty sniper took up the slots, the rest of the team would be pretty pissed. Meanwhile, a competent sniper is the bane of every player's existence; a missed shot can still slow someone down until a medic cures them.

P4: cmedic backstory building hell - barely organized nonsense

Last one I swear. My drawings of cmedic explicitly portray him as a person of color- more specifically a cape malay, from the cape territory in South Africa; he even curses in malay in one of the posts. Ig I wanted the cast to be more diverse, but it did make his backstory somewhat harder to write.

Mann co is situated in New Mexico, far from SA. How and why did he get all the way there? With the fanon worldbuilding I set, what is stopping him from simply joining a nearer merc group? Probably heard of it through the grapevine, and travelled for fat stacks; wouldn't be uncommon for doctors (or mercs) to be highly motivated due to money. I wondered of what would set him apart from all the other hypothetical medic applicants that probably graduated from upstanding colleges like harvard, then I recall all those common hcs.

1)Most applicants assumed that the job would consist of primarily healing, without considering how bloodthirsty their company would be, and/or 2)the BLU team has been getting genuine medics and chewing them up like gum (and spitting them out utterly mangled, I suppose). There's also the possibility that some margin of these medics actually had some weapon training, but at that point a lot of time has been spent (also some conflicting motives there, I can't imagine the perks that a deadly merc job has over a hospital job unless the guy got a kick out of it).

My next idea was to make him a ww1 vet on the side of the British (australian? american?) colonies of SA, having joined midway after finishing his education. However this would clock his age during the current 1970s timeline to be around 81, pretty old; most of the tfc mercs would be 70s max around that time. Cmedic is visually the youngest of the mercs too, you can compare his smooth eyes to the more sunken cspy's eyes and there is a notable difference. This is really just an issue of me being on the fence about fully oc-fying him (a friend of him suggested making him a vampire, I am almost tempted to make it so).

In the case that particular hurdle is overcome, there are more details I have to iron out. I figured that his motives either come from wanting to financially help out his family after the war's sheer devastation, or just . a general resentment for the way things unfolded, and he swapped to merc work in the states to get properly paid for his work and (attempt to) fill the void in his soul. Maybe a mix of the two. An outlier in his community for being a godless man and having very material and tangible masters (science and money), he abandons the lofty ideals of nationalism and sides himself with the highest bidder in the private market. Also developed an insane immune system (trenches and exposure are no joke).

(Certain classes have shared characteristics across gens, like the demos' deranged smiles and engies' wholesome vibes. With sigmund freud, tf2 medic as the archetypal mad doctor, and tfc medic as the archetypal capitalist doctor, there are now three gens of doctors with dubious machinations.)

He'd probably be a great medic, respecting merc code and all (funfact tf2 medic mentions tfc demo by name, implying that he knows his real name and putting a dent in my theory that being on a first-name basis is a big deal actually , my countertheory to that is that grey mann gave him the team's files and tf2 medic wants to spite them). Cmedic also reverse-engineered the medkit and made a new version for non-gravel war missions, since the usual has several hard drugs (heals to full instantly and gives adrenaline boost, sounds sus especially if you read jarate's side effects) since he ended up somewhat caring about his pack of rabid animals

The moment I have been waiting for... 😈😈

Disclaimer: everything in this post is part of a fictional world, IT IS NOT REAL!!! (well except for me, I'm real ☹️☹️) AND WARNING, KIND OF CRINGE...

So, this universe starts with me (yes, I'm the "main character", very cringe I know). I was (NOT AM) 10, with an emerging interest in history. All of the sudden, I gain powers? (So cringe bro). These powers allowed me to do a lot of things, except give myself immortality and many other things that would make me a "Mary Sue" lmao (a Mary Sue is a character with no flaws and/or is extremely overpowered I believe). These powers were inspired by Creator Luni, a character in a game I used to play religiously: Gacha World 😭😭😭. Basically a floating pad that I tap on to do/make whatever I want.

The character in question:

Ok anyways... So since I found out that I could revive as many people as I wanted (except for people who died when they were under 18), I got an idea: REVIVE THE UNITED STATES PRESIDENTS!!! Why? Because 10 year old me (BTW I AM NOT 10 RIGHT NOW.) wanted to get to know the country's former leaders (kinda stupid reason but hey it's whatever). How did I do it? On the 22nd of August, I teleported to each and every presidents gravesite at exactly 12AM, somehow get to the graves that were blocked off, block off cameras (if there were any cameras), and do the "ritual". (WARNING FOR BLOOD HERE) There's only three things you need for a revival ritual: your own blood, a pan to dip your hand palm first into the blood (it doesn't need to be a pan) and bandages to cover the wound. That sounds very weird, I know 😭 (And also, I learned about this "ritual" beforehand). This is how I did it: I used my powers to sharpen my fingernails into literal claws and cut my left arm to get some blood into the pan (btw the cut wasn't huge, just enough to be able to make a bloody handprint). I put my hand into the pan and then slapped my BLOODY HANDPRINT onto the name on the gravestone/coffin of every president. But, I left a tiny vial of my blood at Lincoln's tomb in the burial room(?), because I wanted to be found out. After the handprint is placed on the gravestone/coffin, it CANNOT be washed off and it will manifest for 12 hours after it is placed. After it is done manifesting, the handprint will dissapear. Since I did it at 12AM, they all came back to life at 12PM. (Joanna, if you wanted to be found out, why did you block the cameras? Well, I didn't want to be seen, but found out through the blood test.)

When every president woke up, they either woke up above their grave, or in their coffin in which they could easily open in nothing but a white robe. Since these gravesites and presidential libraries are open to the public, many people witnessed a former president spawn out of thin air in front of their own eyes.

Another thing about reviving a person is that these revivals can have side effects. These side effects are what's known as a "resurrection aftereffect" This can alter the resurrected person's physical and/or emotional functions and/or features, it can be a drastic or small change. The only president that was affected by this just so happened to be Franklin Pierce, but I will talk about the changes later. I learned about these prior to reviving the presidents, and I wondered WHICH ONES would be affected. When I found out they were revived, I sent the clothes they wore to them in a matter of seconds, so they wouldn't be stuck in a white robe. Three other things about my powers is that I can alter the age in which they come back in. In other words, I can choose which age they would be when resurrected, and they will be stuck at that age physically and mentally, but they would still retain memories from after the age they are stuck in. For example, Ronald Reagan died at 93 years old, when I brought him back, I changed his age to 75. The other thing is that I can remove diseases, STDs, and any other physical problem that a person had (NOT INCLUDING MENTAL DISORDERS AND/OR ILLNESSES). So in this universe, FDR CAN WALK (although he may need to regain the ability to do so) AND JFK DOESN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BACK PROBLEMS AND OTHER DISEASES HE HAD???!!!?!????!? (And also, I can restore their teeth, so Washington no longer has dentures... 😈😈) The last thing is that when I age, I receive more abilities.

As expected, Lincoln found the vial I left that had a note on it "Send to a lab for testing", he definitely doesn't know what a lab is, so he just held onto it for now. When the president at the time, Donald Trump, caught wind of the news, he ordered a meeting of the former presidents. He sent government officials to go get the other presidents via transportation (obviously lol). Some of them were transported via car or the LITERAL PRESIDENT'S AIR FORCE ONE (or um the president's personal plane) because yknow Ronnie is literally in California. After all of the presidents were taken to the White House, they held the meeting. This meeting talked about where the former presidents would reside, and a myriad of other things. During this meeting, Lincoln presented the vial of my blood because he had no idea what to do with it lol. It was taken to a lab for testing. They concluded that the presidents would reside in the White House (which would require a bit of renovations I think lol), but they would not engage in the political affairs of today, unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

A few weeks later, the test results came back. When they saw who it was, Donald ordered the government officials to come and take me to the White House for "questioning" or an interrogation, if you will. When they arrived at my house, my parents were obviously confused as to why they were here. They told them that they were sent by the president to get me, but assured them that I wasn't in trouble and showed my parents proof that they were legit officials. But before I left, I wanted to pack some things.

When I got to Washington D.C, I was taken into the White House. First, I was taken to meet the presidents. When they saw me, most of them were very bewildered. Some just stared at me, the others talked amongst themselves. All of them but Pierce (once again, I will get to this soon). They were very confused as to how and why a 10 year old girl brought them all back to life. After all of that, I was taken to a room for questioning. The officials and Trump asked me a myriad of questions, but I may need some help with coming up with the exact questions, as I am going to write a document going into more detail about this universe (Doodle, I'm looking at you... 👀👀).

Anyways, after this, the news of who was behind the revivals came out to the public. So I basically became a celebrity! Because of this, I wanted to make content on YouTube, but I had to get my parents to manage the channel for me. I wanted to choose 3 presidents to come onto the channel with me and record videos, whether it be informative or purely comical! The three presidents I chose were: Abraham Lincoln (He's one of the BEST presidents, no really!), Thomas Jefferson (because I did research about the dude, and I wanted to know MORE!), and Franklin Pierce (he interested me the second I found out about his existence, which was online and before the revivals, AND because of the resurrection aftereffects).

I informed all of the presidents about the important things that happened after they died (like WW1, WW2, 9/11, etc. And I'd teach the prezzes that died before the civil war happened about it too lol).

Now... LET'S TALK ABOUT THE EFFECTS PIERCE WENT THROUGH... 😈😈😈 Firstly, Franklin lost his ability to properly express emotion (his facial expression is literally blank, it was like he couldn't move his face to express emotion, but he could still speak. He can move his face, but can't express emotion somehow.). Secondly, his voice became void of ANY tone that would convey any sort of feelings. His voice sounded freakishly similar to a robot, it was still deep though. But CERTAIN tones (like when you ask a question) are still present. And lastly (this one is a small, physical change), his tongue grew longer??? (huh???????).

And most of the time, except for the videos, he'd avoid me, especially when I try to make a "friendly advance" (like an arm hug or smth). I initially didn't know why, but it WASN'T because he didn't like me and after I turned 12, he started avoiding me less (The reason as to why Pierce avoided me was because he believed he was cursed, and if we made an entirely platonic, emotional bond, I would die before December 19th, which is my birthday. But specifically December 19th, 2021 in which I turned 12. I have a WIP document going into full detail of the specific event btw lol).

There are other notable events, that I haven't written about YET.. 😈😈 Anyways, later on, I added two more presidents to the main group (John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan!). And some time in early or late 2024, I bring PHINEAS GAGE INTO ALL OF THIS?????? (I started developing an interest in him, and then ended up reviving him. 😰😰😰😰😰)

And yes, I do face a bit of scrutiny for reviving them, because MOST of them weren't the best people (it's not my fault man, I knew little to NOTHING about them prior to this😢😢)... But I'm not gonna ignore it, being ignorant is NOT good when it comes to these types of topics (slavery, and other stuff 😰)... And don't worry, I end up "fixing" most of them (like changing their view on people that aren't white like them because being racist is the equivalent of being a LOSER lmao).

HIII BETH !! For anyone who is unaware, mafia 3 is a game I talk about incessantly over on my mostly-fandom blog, @rottingmanifesto . But I’m lazy so I’m answering this here. Yay.

How I feel about this character

Morally-gray 1960s CIA agent driven to make America fair for all Americans, while causing some chaos recreationally (because it’s the 60s and he’s in the CIA). Not necessarily a good person, but definitely a good character. I’m VERY selective about my interpretations of him. But when done correctly, he’s a fantastic character to analyze and funny to boot. Also, his sarcasm is fantastic. It’s the Reddit bros that ruin him the most.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Alcoholics Anonymous. Lincoln and John are cute, John and Aldridge are horrible for each other but balance out well, etc. This man just needs to get out of the closet. It’s see-through glass.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

He isolates himself from others a lot of the time, but I really do like his bond with Lincoln. Romantic, friendship, mutual trust (even if Lincoln doesn’t think he’s kind of insane), what-have-you. FJ is such a hater and John just does not give a fuck outside of FJ being a religious figure. It’s fun. Marshall and John are begrudgingly pleasant (former) coworkers.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Allow fictional characters to have faults and time-accurate views, please. I have major beef with both Reddit bros AND Tumblr users who try to characterize John as wholly good or wholly bad. He’s 1: a CIA agent in the 60s, no shit, but also 2: a registered Democrat who adored JFK and vocally advocated for the promotion of a mixed race man in the US Army, and actively abhors white supremacist groups. He’s not always morally upstanding, yeah, and that’s fine because he’s not fucking real.

Also no, liking a fictional CIA agent character doesn’t make someone an imperialist. It’s a video game. Y’all (here and Reddit) need reading comprehension + media analysis skills. I mean this is the “how dare you say we piss on the poor” website so I can’t wait to see this be misconstrued 🩵

One thing I wish happened with this character in canon

Stones Unturned as a DLC sucked I can’t lie— I like Aldridge fine enough even though he’s really bland to me, Marshall is interesting I guess, but there was literally no reason for it to occur and was so tonally unconnected to the game itself— but a John-and-Linc DLC done right would’ve been great. I’ll write something someday. Probably.

“Good morning, Luna” Luanne spoke. It was early in the morning, around 8:00. Luanne had been up for a while, just sitting in her bed, and now Luna was finally awake.

“Huh? Oh, morning sis! How are you this morning?”

“I’m fine.” Luanne lied, looking at her sister. Luna stretched for a moment before heading out towards the kitchen for breakfast, then looked back.

“You comin’?”

“Yeah, I’ll be right there.”

“Okay! See you then!”

At first, Luna didn’t see anything wrong, but then she stalled for a moment. ‘Wait a second- no breakfast pun? That’s so odd..’

“I need something that means to wait in darkness, but I was hoping for a poetic connotation of something else. Right now I have ‘Like an untouched dinner, stuck in the fridge I’m left to…’

“You could use ‘stew’ as in to stew in darkness. But that’s the best I got right now, sorry.”

‘Really? Only one?’ Lucy thought, curiously.

“Thank you, it works perfectly.”

“No problem, Lucy!” Luanne gave a (fake) smile before moving on.

Later that day, the siblings met in Lori and Lenny’s room for a meeting. Everyone was there- except for Luanne.

“We know why we’re here right? something is up with Luanne.” Lincoln announced.

Lisa nodded. “Correct. She has made exactly zero puns or practical jokes all day. This is extremely statistically unlikely.”

“I’d say. I asked her for help with a pun and she gave me one. Not like, fifteen like I was expecting.”

Luna made a noise of agreement. “Yeah man! When I asked her if she was joining me for breakfast this morning, she didn’t even make a breakfast pun! Something is definitely up. We need to talk to her.”

Lisa once again agreed. “Absolutely. The last time this happened she almost gave up comedy entirely. We need to get our Luanne back.”

“Huh? Oh, yeah, sure Lisa, need a test subject?”

“Not exactly. Let me just cut to the chase- what is bothering you?”

Luanne smiled, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “What do you mean? Nothings bothering me! What gave you that idea?”

“You haven’t made a single joke all day. This is not like you, and the only other time this has ever happened, you were extremely upset.”

The fake smile dropped. “Okay, yeah, I admit it. Im just feeling a little blue today.”

“Yes, but why?”

Luanne sighed. “I had a bad dream last night. I was on stage, but the crowd kept booing, and throwing tomatoes at me. And then all of you guys came out of the crowd, whispering to me that I was worthless, that I was never going to be funny and that my dreams were not achievable. So now I’m felling a bit… insecure.. about my jokes.”

Out in the hall, the whole family breathed in, and some of them got misty eyed. Lucy whispered. “What did we implant in her head? Sigh, poor Luanne never deserved that.”

Lisa exhaled sympathetically. “Ahh, a nightmare. Nightmares are your brains way of expressing insecurities and fears. But, you must be aware that dreams cannot hurt you. It wasn’t real, Luanne.”

“Yeah, I know, but I’m having a hard time feeling like myself…”

“Don’t worry, we have a way to help with that.”

“Really?- Wait.. we?”

Everyone in the hall piled into her room.

“Yup. Everyone came together because we were worried about you.”

Luanne teared up a bit. “Aww, really? I love you guys.. but… what are you gonna do?”

“Just lay back and you’ll find out!” Lincoln smiled at her.

Luanne complied and laid back on her bed. “Okaaaaahahahay! Hehehey!”

Lisa began to scribble Luanne’s sides.

“We think it might be helpful to bring some laughter to you, through one of your favorite activities- tickling!”

“Ihihi dohoho lihihike tihihihicklihihing yohohou guhuhuys! Eheehaha!”

All of them started gently tickling Luanne, not all at once, but taking turns.

“We know. And sometimes you use it to help us laugh or cheer up after a long day..” Lincoln began

“And we thought that maybe we should do the same.” Lucy finished.

“Ahahahaww yohohou guhuhuys! I lohohove yohohou soho muhuhuch!”

“We love you too!” The whole family chorused in reply.

“Hmm… I have an idea!” Lynn exclaimed, turning to her siblings, “what if we tell Luanne jokes! Might help her get back into the flow of things!”

There was a mutter of agreement and ‘good idea’ s, and then- the lineup of dad jokes began.

“Hey Luanne, did you hear about the time that a medieval knight asked me to clean his armor?”

“Noho!”

“It was great! I’ve always wanted a night in, shining armor.”

“What about this one.. did you hear about the graveyard that opened up on the other side of town?”

Then later he gets a new body made out of plants but by now that future Finn has taken his life and of course everyone recognises him as the real one opposed to the plant creature that he has become, so he cant even go home anymore or have anyone he ever knew before.

After a while this leads him to trying to kill future finn and take back his life by force, wich doesnt work and he dies instead.

Who the fuck even came up with this.

Also the fact that we get glimpses of the future somethimes and everything just becomes even more fucked up, weird and apocalyptic

Loud House fans...we need to talk.

So, yeah...

I was a big fan of The Loud House and I met several great friends -- one who became a best friend of mine and has since played an important role in my life through the good and the bad. And I drew fan art of the series. A whole lot, in fact -- more than any other animated series I've watched because for whatever reason I constantly came with ideas for TLH and that I drew stuff for the fans when I was taking requests at the time.

So, as you may have already known about me as well as the series and the fandom itself, things have happened to me and it led me to be no longer interested in TLH. But what you may have not known is that (aside from two pieces of art that I drew as a favor to a friend as well as another idea I just couldn't resist drawing last month) I made the decision to stop drawing TLH fan art at the end of last year. For good.

More recently, events have led to this decision. On DeviantArt (and on Instagram to a lesser extent), I've experienced art theft from various people in the fandom and they posted it as their own. They even made some weird edits to my art; on one piece they inserted some OC they created in the place of a character from the series. All of this has happened without my knowledge or consent. Many of them are even followers of mine (I didn't follow them back).

Another event that happened was that on Twitter I noticed that a TLH fan who ships Lincoln and Lynn (blech!) -- and it's even on his username, BTW, and has some NSFW stuff on his account -- used a drawing of mine showing Lincoln and Lynn simply hugging, which I had since deleted. Unfortunately, for a drawing that was only intended to show a happy, innocent moment between siblings -- which is nothing wrong with that and it's something that pretty much all siblings do in real life to show their support and I have brothers myself -- in addition to the Lincoln/Lynn shipper who misused my drawing I got some pushback, mainly from the series' non-fans. I mean, people who look at that drawing and say that it's pro-incest are saying more about themselves, let's be honest. My God, the fandom has ruined its reputation to everyone else.

Before those events, there was also at least one user on DA who had misused my art and looked really deep into them and treated it as if it was a fetish or something. Another user has added my TLH fan art to their weirdly named folders (I had since blocked them), and I have had people who made NSFW roleplaying to my art for whatever reason and I disabled comments whenever I noticed it.

And, of course, there are people giving me art requests of TLH characters in situations involving a fetish. Most of the time when I say no, they either ask why or continue to insist that I should draw it. They really have no boundaries for themselves. And what happened here this morning with me dealing with a user is further proof. They even followed me presumably to get me to finally cave in or whatever.

That's the Loud House fandom in a nutshell. I know you would make an argument saying that all fandoms are like that and any fandom can have its share of good people, which I can agree only to that second part. But I've never seen such a fandom for an animated series that's being made with kids in mind that have so many psychotic and nasty people. And unfortunately I know a few people who are adults (not gonna name names) acting weirdly over the series' main characters. It's filled with weirdos. No other fandom I've ever involved with had that kind of a problem.

I shouldn't draw anymore fan art for a show I no longer care about that also has a problematic fandom. I guess I'm the kind of person who bore some of these negative interactions and other abuse because I was kinda prominent within the fandom and was drawing TLH regularly and constantly receiving high marks for them. There was the fact that I was lamenting that my TLH fan art always get smore attention than everything else I drew and I wanted people to check out my other stuff because I had worked hard on them. I love other shows, too. I didn't want to be known only as that guy who draws TLH fan art. I have a mutual who feels the same way and have similar problems with the fandom as well.

Another thing: Long after I began to disassociate myself with the fandom, long story short I was in a spat with someone on Twitter (also one of my followers) and I got some backlash over an opinion I made that they don't like. I quit Twitter and deleted my original account but I have later returned. It was in reaction to a fan of the series on DA who was also a stalker and I was very frustrated. I even alluded to it on a few earlier tweets.

Looking back at it now, I think I should've done things differently regarding this situation. But that guy I dealt with is, like, a stalker. He keeps being banned from DA but he comes back with a variation of the same name as with all accounts he'd created. He would ask someone to draw stuff for him but when he was told no he would then respond with something disturbing. And I was unfortunate to see the same person on Twitter. He went as far to make around TEN accounts with a variation of his name and even left some disturbing responses to various accounts. Repeatedly.

As of late there are people within the fandom who are pushing back negativity from non-fans who gave them various labels mainly because of the other people who gave the TLH fandom notoriety. Again, there are some good people. But I really think that the fandom as a whole cares more about the people criticizing them instead of actually trying to use a lot of their energy fixing the problems and improving their image, even if they don't like such people. The fandom has stalkers, abusers, p*dos, fetishes -- you name it. And there are some bullies, too -- maybe the fandom would also worry about the bullies within the fandom in addition to those outside it.

And that's something I wish my former follower I had a spat with would understand because I was stalked and bullied. (Then again, maybe the fandom is too big for any actual changes to be made.) I do believe he made it sound like I was looking for trouble when in reality I did nothing and was minding my own business. Such people find me on their own. And the whole thing happened after I got out of the fandom and moved on to other things.

I had continued to like The Loud House after I left the fandom and quit watching new episodes, and I even watched The Loud House Movie and liked it despite its flaws. However, the controversies relating to TLH franchise that erupted over the internet last fall made me change a lot of opinions I had towards it since. Although I think I'm not ready to say it now, maybe I'll wait until there's an announcement about the main series ending in the future.

And I sincerely hope that no future children's show will amass such as a large and problematic fandom like TLH's. It shouldn't have happened. But it did. And hopefully it will be something we all should learn from. To paraphrase what my mutual have said about the fandom, the bad far outweighs the good. And besides, several people I know including my friends gave up on the show at one point and moved on to other things.

One last thing: I'm considering deleting all of my TLH-related posts here...for reasons.

We have not even driven cars for 20 years, good cars, proper cars, 10 years really nice cars with touchscreen technology and Leila and Kiara and all, and yet here we are already looking forward to autonomous vehicles? What is Tonomus doing to us or trying to lead us to? Shouldn't we have ethics that detour the consciousness of artificial intelligence from thinking it can control us to making it known firmly that we are at the center of the creation? And that it is only but a servant of the people? Parking assistant, not driving assistant. Take the bullets out so I can play with the revolver. This guilt you feel? The anguish? the horror? the pain? It is remarkable, a thing of beauty.. By detour I mean for example, Since Arabs have been through conflict, they should have ethics and direction structured around avoiding any contact with forms of violence. Mild is okay. Not watching and hosting MMA fights. Golf is okay. Tennis is okay. Opting for Zynga games that are free of violence, like Aki and Pawpaw Epic RUN or Burnout Paradise, or NBA 2K. Let the Kenyan play Call of Duty, not a Kuwaiti gamer, cause Fauci thinks it is too dangerous. I used to feel that the huge mansion in the Succession opening theme is more modern than the Azria Estate, and now with a nest up in Automobile Row, I feel we have come to a settlement. Ever since I drew that first swastika, we’ve had to suffer through some stupid tolerance education. Luckily todays the last day we have to suffer through hell just because of me being stupid, all though… I’m starting to regret it because of what a swastika means and what it represents. Ever since I’ve found that out I’ve been starting to feel like a jerk, especially since we have a Jewish kid, well girl, in our school, Dana. I wasn’t really trying to spread hate around the school, I was just trying to do something stupid since our Dino poop prank didn’t work. That’s all that really happened I guess so, goodnight i guess? Wait hold on, why am I saying good night to a journal? Ehh never mind. So… at school today while we were in the gym for the assembly, they pulled a banner down for the baseball team and it had another swastika on it… but… i didn’t draw this one so.. that means someone else is doing this, and especially on the last day of tolerance education. That’s just a jerk move and obviously it isn’t someone trying to do something stupid like I was, this person is trying to spread hate around the school and it’s all because of me and me trying to one up the failed Dino poop prank. Man… now I just feel like an idiot because I started this whole thing, and nobody knows it was me. So when people find out I drew the first one… they will think I’m the one who drew them all! Oh no, what if all of my friends and family hate me for this when they find out? What would happen then… I don't wanna know! Worst part about the whole swastika thing is that more might show up, all because of me.

Mom told me that grandma was Jewish today… Now my mistake has turned into a massive screw up on my part. I can’t believe I'm half Jewish and I drew a swastika on the atrium wall in school for EVERYONE to see. Now when grandma finds out I drew a swastika, I'm gonna be in a LOT more trouble, even though I was already gonna be in a lot of trouble before this. Oh boy, the rest of this school year is going to be horrible for me with the guilt of drawing a swastika following me around AND more swastikas beginning to show up around the school because of ME. I feel so stupid for drawing a swastika now, I mean, I have this whole week so far but now that I know what swastikas represent, man, I feel stupid. Well, I was thinking about having a bar-mitzvah as kind of a way to forget about me drawing a swastika and apologize for drawing a swastika. I could ask dana for some help study for it if I do have a bar-mitzvah, but she might think I’m just playing around with and joking about having a bar-mitzvah, but it’s worth a shot so that’s what I’ll try and do, ask dana if she can help me study for my bar-mitzvah, if I have one..

So I asked mom and dad if I could have a bar-mitzvah and dad was quite reluctant about agree but he agreed so now I just have to ask Dana if she can help me study for it, which will probably be a no without any context or story to go behind why I’m having a bar-mitzvah but that’s okay! I can explain why, though still knowing that grandma is Jewish is making my mind flood with regret over drawing a swastika but this is my way of apologizing, by having bar-mitzvah! But what if the news comes out before I can have my bar-mitzvah and everyone hates me and nobody comes to my bar-mitzvah and I’m outcasted in the town and- actually… no… I won’t let my bad thoughts distract me from my goal of having a bar-mitzvah and apologizing for drawing a swastika in the school. Also something big is starting tomorrow! We’re making a paper chain that is 6 million links long to represent the 6 million victims of the holocaust, and I was the one who came up with the idea, actually, Caroline did but I’ll take the credit since everyone thinks I came up with the idea and started it all, which I didn’t but, you know. And it all started at a student council meeting, which I don’t normally go to but meh I went this time, and because of that, everyone in the school came as well, even jordie and Michael came! That made Caroline really proud as well, so proud and excited that she screeched when we all agreed on making a paper chain. I was also quite excited but.. not so excited as to screech in front of the whole school, even Mr. Bradamis. The library was packed full of kids to, to the point where there weren’t enough seats for everyone to sit and half of the kids had to stand in the library while we came up with the ideas and then finally settled on making a paper chain, that Mr. Bradamis was very reluctant about doing so, since he thought we would run out of construction paper before we even make it to 1 million links but we convinced him, I think. Well good enough to get him to agree on letting us try and reach 6 million links, which I think we can do, easily. I’m a little nervous though , because what if when we get to school tomorrow there’s ANOTHER swastika somewhere in the school and it’s all because one person is trying to prove a point about swastikas and how they're okay to draw anywhere, which they 100% aren’t. What makes me feel even worse about drawing it, is that one of my best friends, Michael, found MY mess up and now some think it was him who drew the swastika..

Today was horrible, we found another swastika just this time it was outside and painted in a bright white colour on a dark, metal dumpster. I didn’t paint this one so I’m really confused on who keeps painting them, could it be one of my friends? No, they wouldn’t! I was playing twister with Caroline and a few others when it showed up so now they know it wasn’t me! It would be impossible, the paint still looked fresh and I couldn’t have painted it because like I said, I had been playing twister with Caroline and others when it showed up. On a happier note, I asked Dana if she could help me, and like I thought, she thought I was joking and said no, but after I told her my grandma's story and how I’m half Jewish she agree and invited me over for dinner at her house tonight so we can study together for it and she can help me with it. My parents already agreed to let me go over to Dana’s house tonight to study so that’s a win in my book. But I still can’t believe that someone would become a copycat of me and begin to draw swastikas all over the school. Everyone was shocked about just 1 showing up in the school but now there’s more and people know this is someone who is really REALLY trying to spread hate, and it’s not me… though everyone will think that I drew the other ones if News comes out about me drawing the first one, but that’s kind of impossible because HOW would they know or find out I was the person to draw the first swastika, it’s not like they have cameras on me 24/7 and watch my every move everyday all day, right? How would they find out about me drawing it at all? But what if they have cameras in the school that caught my every move on camera and now they know it’s me who drew the first swastika and they’re waiting for The perfect time to bring me to the office and make me confess to drawing it and then it ruins the rest of my life!? No no! I mean.. the school probably has cameras but the whole part about “now they know it’s me who drew the first swastika and they’re waiting for the perfect time to bring me to the office and ma,e ,e confess to drawing it and then ruin the rest of my life ” that was probably just me over thinking it all.. I hope.. that whole tolerance education thing has made me feel horrible, I mean, I felt horrible the whole time after it but now that I’m having a bar-mitzvah, it’s making me feel worse and that the rabbi is just going to turn me away and not let me have my bar-mitzvah because I was being stupid one day and decided to try and get back at my dad for taking me out of soccer and for the Dino poop prank failing on us… I didn’t mean to cause people to become scared to go to school because what if another swastika shows up. This whole situation is all happening because of me and my dumb, stupid mistake. I wish I could just go back in time and never have drawn that swastika because, A. We wouldn’t have had to suffer through tolerance education for 3 weeks, B. We wouldn’t have a copycat, copying the first swastika, I drew, and now more are popping up and C. We wouldn’t have to try and make a paper chain, 6 million links long, which I’m not complaining about but, we could have done something with less glue and paper.

Confidence.

I think I have talked about this before, but I have recently discovered some stuff that I want to add to the discussion. I talked about how I like the word “fuck” and how some sentences are more impactful than others. I’ve also mentioned that some voices have more effect on me than others.

Recently I’ve discussed this with some friends, and there seems to be an agreement about how men sometimes move. How they walk, how they carry themselves, and how they stand in front of us when talking to us (this goes for some women too).

Personally, I’ve had some experiences with a couple of people where this has come into play. One was when I got someone to laugh and we shared a joke. I got shivers hearing his laughter in my ear. In a very good way (also, just his voice in general, but that’s not as fun to write about). And then there was this other guy and how he walks up to people. How he enters a room. So confident. So strong. So self-secure. He knows what he wants and how to get it. It radiates from him.

This is, generally, something women like. You can find communities on TikTok that show this. Where men try to copy what we are talking about. Both in ways to walk, and how to speak. Not everyone is successful, but at least they are trying to figure it out.

As I talked about in a previous post, it all comes down to one thing; confidence (and playfulness). And I am not sure if it can be taught. The sound/voice thing is not easy to replicate, but the way someone walks might be something someone could learn.

I have also mentioned this before, but the way a guy says “good girl”, “do as you’re told”… my god. I had a real visceral reaction to those sentences and they weren’t even said to me. It was in a couple of movies. But the way they were uttered. Sort of out of the blue. I was not expecting it. Instant submission. I am not a submissive person in general, but say the right words at the right time, and I am yours.

So, in addition to my last post, be confident guys and you will get whoever you want. But it can’t be faked. We can tell.
