Version: Physical limited edition

On top of the 2 standard editions (physical and digital), there are 2 "deluxe" editions - physical (Treasure Box) and digital (Digital Deluxe). There aren't any higher tiers, but both deluxe editions differ in content.

Normal price: $59.99 Limited edition price: $114.99

That's $55 for just the bonuses. For this price, you could almost buy a second copy of the game.

"Fate/Samurai Remnant material": Only concrete information is that it contains short side story about the characters of the main game. (Despite Nasu not being the writer, it is about food.) Not known if it contains any artwork.

"Official Short Story Translation Booklet": Genuinely a really cool touch. However, it is only regarding the short story.

"B2-Sized Cloth Poster": Koei Tecmo's staple for limited editions.

"Command Spell Stickers": ...yeah, stickers.

"Box Bonus Costume DLC Code": ...quoting the website, "Costume DLC may become available for purchase or free separately at a later date.". Presumably not the same as the pre-order costume.

Extra information

It is known that the game will already have 3 DLCs. They are available in the Digital Deluxe version, but not here - to experience all the content, you will need to buy them (or a "Season Pass") separately.

All in all

Very underwhelming. For an additional price of $55, you get partial soundtrack, a short story and its translation booklet, and genetic and cheap knick-knacks. In addition, it doesn't include the DLCs - unacceptable for this price. Do not buy.

🍇 PRINCESS RAENESSA TARGARYEN (75 AC - 133 AC) (template by @kanos)

↳ Raenessa Targaryen was born in 75 AC to Prince Aemon Targaryen and his wife, Jocelyn Baratheon. She is the older twin sister of Princess Rhaela Targaryen, and younger sibling to Princess Rhaenys Targaryen.

Meek and emotional, she was oft called The Weeping Dragon behind her back. Ever compared to her two sisters, she lingered in their shadow for most of her life, trailing behind them and cleaning up their messes or sifting though the scraps they left behind.

Her cradle egg, as green as Wildfire, hatched shortly after her birth and finally in 91 AC at the age of sixteen, the timid Targaryen finally took the beast to mount. The Green Jewel of Dragonstone, Vysera, as she named her, seemed to be just as timid as her rider, but was fiercely protective of the young woman. While barely ridden due to Raenessa's distrustful nature, the dragon and rider shared a bond that was as close and unique as any other.

In 94 AC, at the age of nineteen, she wed Donnal Redwyne. The two struggled for years to have a viable pregnancy, and after many failed attempts, their prayers were finally answered when she gave birth to a girl in 113 AC, whom they named Daenys.

Unfortunately, their new found bliss was cut short as a fever took Donnal Redwyne's life mere weeks after Raenessa had given birth. The now widowed mother was never quite the same after that and as years passed she rarely let her daughter out of her sight. Months following the tragic loss, Queen Alicent extended an invitation towards her and the still young child, offering them a residence in the capitol should they want it. Raenessa graciously accepted and the mother and child lived in relative happiness and great comfort for many years.

When the Targaryen civil war commenced in 132 AC, Raenessa declared her support for King Aegon II Targaryen and The Greens, though, suffers a great loss at many turns.

In the days following the slaying of her older sister and her dragon at the Battle of Rooks Rest, Raenessa used the exodus of small folk from King’s Landing to flee the capitol. Amid orders from the Prince Regent, Aemond Targaryen, to seal the city, she managed to slip through undetected. Still reeling in shock and grief, she declared for her cousin, Rhaenyra Targaryen, but subsequently found herself locked in the cells beneath Dragonstone for a time, her untimely and sudden arrival sending ripples of confusion though the Queen’s small council.

Back in King’s Landing, Raenessa was branded a traitor and in retaliation Criston Cole suggests her dragon, Vysera, be slain and her remains fed to King Aegon's mount, Sunfyre, for her treachery.

In 133 AC, after failing to be reunited with her daughter, Daenys, until Queen Rhaenyra takes King's Landing, she suffers another great loss; one that will prove her last. During the riots lead by The Shepherd, Daenys would retreat to the Dragonpit to ensure the safety of her own dragon, Duskwing. Her demise was said to be particularly gruesome, the young woman and her unborn child crushed underfoot by her frightened dragon in its panic as the mob descended upon the chained beasts.

Overcome with grief, Raenessa Targaryen ended her own life just days later, through means of poison, succumbing to the deadly concoction nestled among her daughter's belongings.

Am I simply misremembering WOF The Dragonet Prophecy or did the Limited Edition seem gorier than the original? I don’t have the paper version of the first release to compare, but it felt like a lot of scenes hit way harder/brutal than the first version (absolutely not a complaint, was a great read, but I can’t tell if this is just me completely forgetting the original)

i feel very frustrated about the trend of giving chil body hair bc if it was any other anime twink i would be thrilled its just that it seems to only be because people are SO afraid of him looking young they have to make him hairy to justify liking him in ships.

meanwhile it does directly go against canon (he literally is supposed to look like a child. this is integral to both his character and his race's lore as a whole and it makes no damn sense that he would be mistaken for a child if he has body hair i mean. cmon.)

and it's like. some men are hairless. some men look young. when youre a trans man in your 20s-30s its especially common to be mistaken for a teenager, even more so if you're not on t. and short. these traits do not make you less of a man or an adult. :/

As it is customary with NIS these days, they release their games digitally, the physical version gets bumped to a "deluxe edition" with bonuses that aren't worth the price, and the limited edition gets the actual bonuses.

Normal price: $49.99 Limited edition price: $89.99

That's roughly 80% more than the normal price of the game.

Extra information

This is one of the two ways to obtain this release physically. The other one - "Deluxe Edition" - includes "Mini Art Book" and "Double-sided Mini Poster", none of which are available in this edition. It is a bit concerning that the only way to obtain the game physically is to get a version with, possibly, unneeded bonuses padding the price.

Moreover, this is a re-release for 20+ games, with just some quality changes.

All in all

Surprisingly enough, this isn't the most overpriced limited edition around. For $40, you get 2 full soundtracks for the included games - most probably the main selling point of this edition - and some other paperweights that NISA habitually adds to this type of releases. This is arguably worth the price.

However, you cannot obtain the soundtracks anywhere else, which means that the only easy way to obtain those is through this limited edition, which comes with other bonuses which pad out the price. What's more, the kinda acceptable price of the set comes from the fact that this is the typical price for NISA's limited editions. If the games were released separately, the limited editions for each of the games would probably sell at the same price point. This is not example of a fairly-priced limited edition, this is an accident caused by a set pricepoint.

"Just a minute," Finn called behind his shoulder as the bell to The Raven's Message twinkled, signaling a patron. Niserie curiously gazed all around, her hazel eyes flickering to all kinds of various herbs, tomes, and other magical products. Soon, Finn descended a staircase to meet her, of course after completing a recipe to ship. "How can I help you this evening?" he asked politely. "Are you looking for a potion, a specific ingredient? We have it all, if not I will hunt it down for you." She nodded. "Do you have something that could enhance a weapon's power? I know it sounds vague but there's a monster I've been wanting to hunt down." Finn's interest was instantly piqued-of course he'd gotten requests aplenty for something like this, however, hearing an adventurer's quest was another thing that made the job all the more worthwhile. "Yes, of course. On top of that, I also have potions for your defense in that case, and one to restore strength," he said, motioning for the elf to follow him toward a row of shelves farther in the back. Various shaped vials, bottles and flasks filled with multi-colored liquids adorned them. "They will be an extra charge if you choose to add them, though." Niserie mulled it over, but couldn't seem to make a decision, internally scolding herself-for Pete's sake she had a boyfriend who lived and breathed this stuff! Sensing her hesitation, Finn stepped forward and plucked a dark colored vial from the shelf. "This one is a buff potion. It lasts a good while, 20-30 minutes. Drink it and you'll be landing some heavy hits no matter the foe," he explained, holding it up. "It's made with the claw of a dragon and feather of a griffin among other things. Goes for 595 Jydro." Niserie took it from him to take a look, frown playing on her lips. As she was again thinking about it, Finn went to rummage through the shelves for some other choices, but he couldn't help but wonder. "What is this creature you're facing? It might give me a general idea of how to serve you." Niserie blinked, and peered up toward him. "Well, for starters, it's just a rumor. A friend of mine wants me to investigate some disturbances within Midasay Forest-" Finn stopped her almost immediately. "Midasay Forest? You are bringing a party, right? I've been there to harvest ingredients. Some of the creatures I've seen are no joke and my magic skills aren't up to par either! And that disturbance, I wouldn't put past it being what I think it is. I've read up on it. The Univaus." The silence that hung in the air confirmed everything he needed to know. Shaking his head, he turned and again went back to finding the perfect mixture for this patron--no matter how crazy she may have seemed. "I can handle it," Niserie insisted. "I'm not just some lowly elf, I've been through more you can imagine." Finn paused, arms gathered with various bottles. Whirling, he got a good look at her face. "These should work, I'll calculate the totals. Who are you? Rather, who am I making this order out to?" Placing the potions upon his workstation desk, Finn dipped a quill into some ink. "Niserie Reythana," she told him. "I'm not from here." His demeanor changed just as quick, scribbling her name onto worn paper. Now he knew. "I've heard about you. Listen, I commend your bravery and your story, but please, if you really do plan going into Midasay Forest alone-" "Nothing's going to stop me," she told him. Her tone left no argument. "If that disturbance turns out to be something that can harm somebody, I can't let it go." Finn sighed, resigning to the fact. Many times he'd come across reckless customers and he'd feared they would reap what they sowed. In the end, he'd never really know. "Very well. These potions should cover all of your bases: defense, offense, and restoration." He watched her carefully, that resolve never left her eyes as she took the bag and turned on her heel. Seems as what the fellow named Wulfric told him was right - she was determined and let nothing get in her way.
