The Mystery of the Missing Time
Introduction
Have you ever felt like the day is passing you by faster than you can keep up with? Have you ever wondered where all the time has gone? It’s a common feeling, but it seems to be happening more and more.
In fact, scientist and philosophers alike have been trying to figure out the mystery of the missing time for years. It’s a complex issue with many theories, but it essentially boils down to one thing: time is slipping away faster than we can keep up with.
What Causes the Mystery of the Missing Time?
The mystery of the missing time is caused by a variety of factors, but the most commonly accepted reason is that our perception of time is changing. As we get older, our days seem to go by faster and faster. This is because our perception of time is relative, meaning that it changes according to our age, experiences, and expectations.
The more life experiences we have, the more our perception of time changes. We are used to things taking a certain amount of time and when that changes, it can feel like time is slipping away. For example, a day that felt like it would never end when you were a kid can now feel like it flew by in a blink of an eye.
Another factor that could be causing the mystery of the missing time is the fact that our brains are wired to focus on the present. We are constantly living in the moment, and this means that the future and past seem to slip away faster than we can keep up with.
Finally, the mystery of the missing time could also be caused by the fact that there are more distractions in our lives than ever before. We are constantly bombarded with emails, notifications, and other stimuli that pull us away from the present and make it difficult to focus on what is happening in the moment.
How Can We Combat the Mystery of the Missing Time?
The good news is that there are a few things we can do to combat the mystery of the missing time. The first is to practice mindfulness. This means taking the time to be present and focus on what is happening in the moment. This can help us to slow down our perception of time and gain a better understanding of how it passes.
Another way to combat the mystery of the missing time is to limit our distractions. This can be done by turning off notifications, setting aside specific times of the day to check emails, and focusing on one task at a time.
Finally, it can also be helpful to take breaks throughout the day. This can help us to recharge and get back in touch with our sense of time. Taking a walk, listening to music, or just taking a few moments to yourself can help us to gain back our sense of time.
Conclusion
The mystery of the missing time is something that has been plaguing us for years, but thankfully, there are a few things we can do to help combat it. By practicing mindfulness, limiting our distractions, and taking breaks throughout the day, we can slow down our perception of time and gain back our sense of it. So, the next time you feel like time is slipping away, remember these tips and take a moment to be present.

3 Productivity Tools to Reach Your Goals Faster
Tumblr media
If you're like most busy people, you're always looking for productivity tools and ways to increase your productivity. If you can find a way to: * Limit distractions in this distraction-filled world * Stay focused on a single task at a time …you're well on your way to getting more done, but it's not always easy to get there. Well, thanks to the amazing technology we have available to us today, there are a plenty of tools out there that can help. Here are 3 of our favorite productivity tools to help you limit distractions and stay focused. #1: RescueTime
Tumblr media
Let's get the distractions out of the way first because even while technology brings us so many great productivity tools, it also brings us tremendous distractions. RescueTime helps you track your time on your computer and your mobile devices and identifies where you where you're spending (ahem…often wasting) a lot of your time. RescueTime will: alert you when you're spending a certain amount of time on an activity, allow you to block distracting websites during focus time, keep track of what you accomplished throughout the day, and identify how much time you spend on a variety of activities, including email, meetings, etc. You can sign up for a Lite account, which is completely free or their premium service for added features. #2: Focus Booster Pomodoro App
Tumblr media
The Focus Booster app is based on the Pomodoro Technique, which is a long-standing productivity technique that uses a timer for focused work periods, usually 25 minutes, followed by a break of 3-5 minutes. After you complete 4 work periods, you get a break of 15-30 minutes. The idea is you stay completely focused on the task during the work period. There are a lot of apps that can help you execute the Pomodoro Technique, but you can check out Focus Booster. The app is free for up to 20 sessions per month or you can pay a reasonable yearly fee for unlimited sessions and extra features. The app keeps a time sheet for you and produces a report that allows you to track your productivity and identify ways to become even more productive. #3: Focus @ Will
Tumblr media
Now here's something very different, but scientifically proven to increase focus and productivity. And if you love music, this is going to be great news for you. Focus@Will uses human neuroscience and music to help you focus, limit distractions, get productive and retain more information. All you do is answer a few questions and the software will determine the right music to put your brain in a flow state that makes you super productive. There is a free 2-week trial, so you can see if it works for you. Try these tools and let us know what you think. And hey, if you've got a productivity tool you love, can you post it in the comments below? We'd love to gather up your answers and make part 2 for this article with more great productivity tools. 8 Tips for Staying Productive While Working From Home
Introduction
The pandemic has drastically changed the way we work and live. As millions of people turn to remote work, it can be difficult to stay productive and focused while working from home. Here are 8 tips to help you stay productive, organized, and motivated while working from home.
Tip 1: Set Boundaries
The first tip for staying productive while working from home is to set boundaries. This means creating a physical and mental boundary between your home and work life. Establish a set time to start and finish work with clear parameters and don't let your work overwhelm the rest of your day. The goal is to maintain a healthy balance between your professional and personal life.
Tip 2: Create a Dedicated Workspace
The second tip is to create a dedicated workspace. It's important to have a designated area to work in that is comfortable and organized. This could be a home office, a corner of your bedroom, or even a small table in the living room. Make sure to choose somewhere that is comfortable and free from distractions.
Tip 3: Set Achievable Goals
The third tip is to set achievable goals. Working from home can be overwhelming and it's easy to get distracted. To stay on track, set clear and achievable goals each day. Make a list of tasks and prioritize them to help you stay focused.
Tip 4: Take Breaks
The fourth tip is to take regular breaks. Working from home can lead to burnout if you don't take breaks throughout the day. Schedule regular breaks to help you stay productive and energized. Use this time to get up, stretch, and take a short walk.
Tip 5: Limit Distractions
The fifth tip is to limit distractions. This means avoiding things that can take away from your work such as social media, text messages, and emails. Try to limit the amount of time you spend on these activities and turn off notifications if possible.
Tip 6: Stay Connected
The sixth tip is to stay connected with your colleagues. Working from home can be isolating, so it's important to stay connected with your team. Schedule regular check-ins with your colleagues or try using video conferencing to stay connected.
Tip 7: Prioritize Self-care
The seventh tip is to prioritize self-care. Working from home can be stressful and it's important to take care of yourself. Make sure to get enough sleep, take regular breaks, and make time for physical activity. This will help you stay productive and energized.
Tip 8: Celebrate Your Accomplishments
The eighth tip is to celebrate your accomplishments. Working from home can be challenging, so it's important to take the time to celebrate your successes. Set smaller goals and reward yourself for completing them. This will help you stay motivated and productive.
Conclusion
Working from home can be difficult, but it doesn't have to be. By following these 8 tips, you can stay productive, organized, and motivated while working from home. Set boundaries, create a dedicated workspace, set achievable goals, take breaks, limit distractions, stay connected, prioritize self-care, and celebrate your accomplishments. With these tips, you can stay productive and successful while working from home.
