It is kind of funny to think about how popular the Kuja Crocodile fan theory is when you take a step back and think about where that theory kinda originates from Now to be fair, I'm not 100% certain where the theory came from, I can only remember so much of what the fandom was theorizing back in 2008, so I may be speaking from my ass a little right now

But from what I do remember, back in Yee Olden Days, there was a lot of speculation about why the Strawhats got sent to their respective island by Kuma the way they did. A lot of people did notice how each island seemed meaningful one way or another to each Strawhat and tied into their characters except for Luffy, and everybody thought that was a bit odd. Mainly because we didn't fully know HOW Kuma's ability worked. Now, nearly two decades later, we DO know how Kuma's ability actually works; People don't magically travel to islands they have a secret connection to or anything, Kuma himself has to actively choose where he sends people off to, meaning Kuma looked at the Strawhats individually and picked out islands where he thought they'd be best off at. Luffy being sent to Amazon Lily is arguably no different; Kuma knew Luffy was the brother of the soon-to-be-executed Ace, but also a target of the WG (due to being Dragon's son). Amazon Lily was close enough to both Sabaody that Luffy would be able to return there relatively easily if he wished to, or he could try to befriend the Warlord Hancock, who was also being summoned to participate in Ace's execution, to hitch a ride from her to go and try to save his brother. The only challenge Luffy would have to overcome there was indeed befriending the Kuja, at least enough to be taken off from the island safely and alive.

But indeed, we only really know and can fully understand that now. Back in Yee Olden Days, the fans did just seem to think Kuma's ability might be a bit more mystical in nature, and thus people got really curious what Luffy's Secret Ties to the Kuja and Amazon Lily could possibly be. And naturally that lead to people speculating that maybe Luffy's mom was a Kuja. Because what other subconcious connection could Luffy possibly have to the island especially when it didn't seem like it would help him reach/achieve his dreams any faster either.

But then we get to Impel Down and Crocodile gets those transgenderism allegations thrown right in his handsome face (and people start shitposting about him being Luffy's other parent) And I think that might be where the streams crossed. People noted how Crocodile has his funny little reptile motif going on, and how the Kuja ""also have a reptile motif"", transgenderism allegations, badabing badaboom Crocodile could be a former Kuja, secret past SOLVED.

But the connection there is really weak though, isn't it? Especially when you considder that the Kuja don't really have a REPTILE theme going on with them. Yes, the snake motif is important to the Kuja, our beloved Hancock being The Snake Princess and the sisters having the Gorgon/Medusa (fake) backstory, but the animal motif is limited to just snakes, not reptiles as a whole (otherwise we could also speculate that Moria is a former Kuja because he's also named after a reptile). And more importantly, the Kuja have a big FLOWER theme going on for them, namely in, well, their names; each Kuja is named after some kind of flower/plant. Sure, Crocodile could have a secret deadname but we don't know if he does, there is no evidence to suggest either way (but also, depending on when you think he would have transitioned then him just being able to have a secret deadname is kind of up in the air (see: Crocodad timeline))

So if Kuma's ability doesn't have a magical way to send people to places they have ties to (whether the person knows it or not), and if Crocodile doesn't have any obvious, thematic connection to the Kuja, then the only reason people believe he could've been a Kuja is because... he might be trans. And... yeah. That's kind of a weak basis for a theory, isn't it

Cross Guild Future Members

Working on a fic series that largely centres around the Cross Guild, not as a throuple but as a pirate crew and it's making me ask the question: who else will join?

Watching theory videos recently makes me feel pretty secure in the idea that Moria and Doflamingo will join, perhaps Weevil.

Other names that get thrown into the ring are, naturally, the other remaining ex-warlords.

Kuma is dead, Jinbe is a strawhat, Blackbeard is a captain in his own right in the race for the One Piece, which I feel rules them out automatically

So then the question becomes.. where do people stand on Law and Hancock? I've seen Law joining Cross Guild gain traction as a theory, especially following the aftermath of his battle with Blackbeard, if he and Bepo are the only survivors, (even if that is only true temporarily).. but I'm not super sold? I mean, he's betting on Luffy if anyone, surely? He wants it for himself, of course, not to be Pirate King necessarily but for answers on the past but if he were to pick a second best who he can trust to give him what he wants - surely that's Luffy?

Hancock.. has a whole island to lead. She has a crew, and they notoriously do not trust men. Amazon Lily and men do not mix. Cross Guild is like 98% men, and even that feels generous. I don't think she'd abandon the Kuja pirates either - but then she worked with the Warlords so could she agree to a temporary alliance to keep her people safe? They were attacked by marines, and by Blackbeard, and if not for Rayleigh.. well.

What do people think? I'm just not sold on it all

So I’ve been looking into the blood types of one piece characters the past two days. If I get something wrong or whatever let me know. This is kinda just for fun for me tbh.

One piece blood types: A = X, B = F, O = S, AB = XF

First up is that Axe Hand Morgan XF(AB) and Helmeppo S(O) are weird because AB blood types can’t typically have O blood type kids. Though there are a few rare ways that could happen. So either Morgan is not his bio dad, or he’s got something going on.

Sora, Sanji’s mom, doesn’t have a blood type. We can guess that it’s F(B) because that’s Reiju’s blood type, her brothers are S(O) Rh-, and Judge is S(O). O and B parents can only have O and B kids.

Newgate F(B) could very well be Weevil’s S(O) pops since Stussy is S(O). Though anyone who doesn’t have AB could be his dad too. so idk

But this also doesn’t disprove Newgate being Crocodile’s S(O) pops or Crocodad/mom. Luffy is F(B), and so is Dragon.

I see a couple times people theorizing that maybe Shakky and Rayleigh are Mihawk’s parents, but Mihawk is S(O) and Rayliegh is XF(AB) which means he ain’t the daddy.

It’s also interesting that Ace and Roger are the only S(O) types in the D Clan (minus Lili, Rocks, and Rouge who don’t have blood types). The rest are all F(B).

Idk how to end this, just wanted to make some observations. If anyone wants to add anything feel free to do so!

Just for the sake of the MK having their own Omnitrixes, I've cooked up a little AU idea.

Stanford created his own version of the Omnitrix. However, it can contain only 10 aliens and Its AI can analyze the wearer's mental, emotional, and physical state to choose the most appropriate and effective arsenal of aliens that suit their best needs. He would dub it the "Moditrix"

The MK (eventually) volunteered to give the watch a go and each kid was granted their selection of 10 aliens:

I designed the tallest one a long time ago and you can still find her on my DA - her names Belladonna (funfact: thats her doll the kids are fighting over)

BUT I've added some new ones; going in order we have:

Belladonna (oldest child, made that doll with her mom when she was a kid, kinda on the road to being the Pumpkin Queen)

Lily (eldest twin, creative and probably more into fashion/sewing like Sally is; she/her)

Thorn (the baby, a lil stupid and gullible- she doesn't think things through all the way, like her dad; she/her)

Hemlock (younger twin, very smart, kinda an inventor; he/him)

Hogweed (2nd youngest, a u t i s m, combats authority constantly and sneaks out a lot- prob got that from his mom tbh; he/him)

Bonus:

Googie! She's the reincarnation/'child' of Oogie Boogie; Lock, Shock, and Barrel tried to collect bugs and shove them into poorly sewn together pillowcases to remake Oogie but it didn't work like they hoped and kinda just formed a skittish kid.

She's got a Weevil for a brain, coughs up butterflies/moths sometimes and the spiders that crawl out her eyeholes are Bunny Harvestment : )

Sally fixed her up since she had gaps in the sewing and was leaking worms (sally also added the buttons) - Ribbon is a gift from Hogweed (they're kinda dating don't @ me lmao)

With the @bug-oc tournament still ongoing, Round 2 drawing to an end in favour of Round 3, another handful of bugs are knocked out of the competition, who will of course arrive home safe and...

Well, differently-shaped. Marigold's been busy! An unusually fast round, here, we got a decent burst of inspiration while procrastinating on packing chatting with some friends and - what? Other contestants? What other contestants? You must be mistaken, of course there were only seven bugs lost this round. It's not like we would lie about that, right? Clearly, if anyone else was transmuted, you'd see them right here. With the rest of Marigold's successful experiments. It's not like we've got any more to do... right?

(Names and owners of transmuted OCs below the cut, in order of pictures here - no group picture for this one, sadly, since we still have more to do here. Hopefully, we pass Round 3 - we really want to draw some transmutations for the other bugs in this round, and the narrowed competition means we can bring out some of the fancier paper we'e got rattling around! Vote for Marigold so we can do more of these - and, of course, for her many natural good qualities.)

First up is Fahris from @tetraterantula, as a Kingsmould! Though tampering with Void isn't precisely advisable, and going from a normal bug to an artificial one is jarring at the best of times, he at least has hands - better than most of this batch can say! This one was fun to do, and we tinkered with a lot of things - the side effects being, of course, that we're tinkering with things we don't already know how to do well. We did make some mistakes here - we are not, admittedly, an expert in humanoids, and long straight lines are the absolute bane of us, but we did our best!

The dark gray used here is starting to fray, which we can unfortunately do little about, as we're out of replacement nibs for our pens at the moment, but which might have caused some interesting texture. We defined the boundary between the lighter cape and the darker one with a white gel pen because our black and dark gray proved to be a bit too close in color to tell at a glance - the pains of traditional art, we suppose. Still turned out fairly well! We wonder if the color palette would interfere with his ability to stroll into the White Palace...

Next up is Cici from @mimicspider, as a Giraffe Weevil. Probably not doing anything for her clumsiness, and definitely not doing anything for her number of hands - the neck is a lot to get used to, even without getting into the whole set of bauplan changes going on here. At least she's probably faster like this? Once she gets used to the legs, at least.

Though we've technically already made her into a Lightseed, double transmutation is fair play... probably? Lightseed Cici was less than a centimeter of our paper, so obviously we had to do something bigger. We modelled this one in particular after the Grimm Troupe steeds - the clown theme fits, and we wanted to toy with the... cloak-looking bits? The polka-dots were a fun challenge, and we definitely think the abdomen came out well. One of the more successful transmutations here, we'd say!

Next are Willow and Lily from @razs-archetype, with Willow as a Moss Knight and Lily as a Belfly. Y'know when you take just a few seconds to yourself, take just a quick nap, and next thing you know you've woken up and the moss has grown over you and your hands have been turned to strange talons reminiscent of a god's dream? Yeah, happened to us too. Awful time. At least their partner's here to- ah, shit. At least this one comes with flight? Probably a damn hard sell of a consolation prize, but...

Not as much to say with the choices here - the Moss Knight felt like a natural choice, and the Belfly just... clicked? We had fun with Willow's moss - the highlights here actually use the same white gel pen as was used with Fahris, since it's got a nice semitransparent thing that we particularly like. We think the style conversion for Lily's face worked out particularly nicely, here. The piece as a whole turned out as one of the best of the batch, as far as we're concerned. Was nice to draw them!

Next, of course, are Drya and Tel from @enbeemerang, with Drya as a Tiktik and Tel as a Nosk - we predict strange waters ahead for them, relationship-wise. Two bugs, and not a single pair of opposable thumbs. The economy is clearly in shambles. At least they've still got each other?

Tel here specifically is actually inspired by a fic that Cog himself wrote - would it surprise you to know that we know them outside of this tournament? They've actually been handed over to us for transformation practice once before, in a sequence that we... might post as propaganda, later. Drya, we deliberated on a few options before settling on a Tiktik - it just seems to fit!

Last but not least, Sehra from @shiningnightstars as a Hive Soldier. It's probably better than it could be, here - at least bees are a bit familiar to Bugaria! This particular variant, admittedly, might not be. Again with the hands, and this time with the looking like an unawakened bee - it might mean a bit of trouble for her, but we're sure she can power through.

The wings here were particularly fun to do - again, we're doing blending tricks here, and we think that the purples turned out particularly well! Sehra's palette is quite pretty, and the gel pen on the eyes wound up looking amazing. Though "soldier" probably doesn't fit too much for what Sehra... is, it felt like the closest to her as far as aesthetics go. The Hive Guardian is a bit too big for a moth like her, the Hiveling feels a bit too far in the other direction, and the Hive Knight... we're actually avoiding bosses and more sapient-looking folk here when possible. Hopefully, it's to your liking!
