LILLY.

pairing: lando x fem!reader
genre: fluff
warnings: mentions of a deaf daughter, y/n and lando's son being a menace to their dog 😭
wc: 560
notes: im the younger sister of a girl who was born blind and mentally impaired, so i know the struggles of managing a family when people from the outside pity you for something that you can't control. i hope that anyone who's in a similar situation finds comfort in this fic.
The fans were in despair. Their favourite couple, their favourite mum and dad had just found out that their daughter — their first baby — was deaf.
Lando and Y/n weren’t worried though.
┊ ┊⋆ ┊ .
Lando walked into his daughter’s room, leaning against the door frame. She was playing the piano like she always does. How amazed of his daughter he was; she couldn’t hear yet she still practiced like no tomorrow.
Lando turned the lights on and off a couple of times before Lilly turned around. she smiled at her father,
“Does this sound right?” Lilly spoke. She was always a good speaker. Even after she became deaf, she relied on her vocal chords to do the work for her. Lando always knew that she would be amazing.
Lando pulled his hands out of his pockets, signing to her,
‘It sounds amazing, beautiful. I think you need to go up one note at the end, though.’
Lilly nodded, turned around and played the same tune again, adding in her father’s advice. Once she had finished, she turned around seeking her dad’s approval. Lando gave her a thumbs up before closing her door to where it previously was.
┊ ┊⋆ ┊ .
Out in the living room, Ash was crawling around on his play mat. He was picking up his toys, throwing them around and giggling to himself.
Y/n sat on the couch with the television on. She had a magazine in her hand and rollers in her hair. She had another month off of work so she had every right to spoil herself while she could.
Daizee — their dachshund cross jack russell (…george? 😟-) — was also watching the television. She diverted her attention to Ash every once in a while, being the big sister of the house. Their golden retriever, Charlie, was lying down with Ash and letting the baby play with his ears.
┊ ┊⋆ ┊ .
Lando sat down next to his wife, giving her a kiss on the cheek before pulling her into his side.
“How’s Lils?” Y/n looked up from her magazine to look at her husband before placing the book down.
Lando nodded, tracing small patterns on her biceps, “She’s doing good, playing the piano last time I checked.” At that, Y/n nodded before turning her attention to the television.
Speak of the devil, Lilly emerged from her room with a skip. That’s what Y/n and Lando loved to see. Even after given the news by the doctor when she turned three, she never let her condition bring her down.
She stopped in front of her mum and dad before doing a little dance and running off to grab a snack from the kitchen. Typical Lilly.
When she returned and sat down on the long end of the couch, she looked over to her parents to see if they needed her attention. As if she knew, Y/n signed to her daughter,
‘How are you feeling today my sweet?’
Lilly nodded, smiling her famous bright smile that even the sea of papaya loved.
“Good!” She answered before turning to watch the show playing on the big screen.
Lando and Y/n shared a look. A look of knowing, of pride. That was their daughter. The fighter that they created.
…And on the floor was Ash, climbing all over Charlie. That poor dog.
┊ ┊⋆ ┊ .
a/n: thank you all so much for the love and support ive been recieving recently! i cant thank you all enough. here's the fic of the idea from my previous post, i hope it's up to your standards! this is also for @ladyladybuggg who wanted to read this, so i hope you enjoy my love!

Littlesister!reader who keeps begging jj to get her a bunny!! But his brother always says no to her until one day him and john b offers to reader a stuffed plushie bunny and she treats it like a real bunny :(( omg
Another Version Of A Pet
Pairing: brother!jj maybank x toddler!sister!reader
Warnings: just fluff
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ ♡ ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
"Pweaseeee!" You were pulling on JJ's shirt, giving him your best puppy eyes.
You have been asking and begging him to get you a pet bunny for days now, promising to always behave and take care of it yourself but JJ of course knows better than that from experience.
"You remember bubbles the fish?" He asks and you tilt your head confused.
"You mean the one you said swam away?" You furrow your brows and JJ mentally curses at him himself for bringing it up.
"Yeah...right. Nevermind. Kiddo, listen, you're too young to take such responsibility. A bunny is a lot of work." He tries to reason with you, hell he just manages to take care of you and doesn't have the heart to tell you another lie should another animal...die from neglect.
"M'gonna take care of it! I promise!" You whine.
He sighs, running a hand through his messy hair. "I'm sorry. But it's not up for discussion."
You frown sadly, detangling your hands from his shirt. "Otay...m'gonna go play outside." You mumble, your head hanging low as you walk outside, not acknowledging John b who just came back after running some errands.
"Hey, Maybank junior. You wanna- oh okay." He cuts himself off as you just walk past him and towards the hammock.
He turns to JJ with a raise of his eyebrow. "What's up with her?"
They both look in your direction, seeing you swaying in the hammock, watching you throw your small teddy in the air and catching it again. They look back at each other, smirking when the get the same idea.
"The same thing that's been goin' on for days. She wants a pet bunny and won't stop asking." He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You remember her fish?"
John B hisses, remembering the day they had to flush him down the toilet.
A few days later, after JJ mowed a lot of lawns or fixed cars he finally had enough money for a bunny plushie. He couldn't stand to see you so upset so he hopes that at least the plushie will make you a bit happier.
He got out of the store, plastic bag in hand as he jumps into the Twinkie with John B behind the wheel. "And?"
JJ pulls out the white stuffed bunny with a smile. "I just hope she likes it..." He mumbles and John B pats his shoulder.
"I have a good feeling, bro."
You are sitting in the living room of the Chateau watching a movie with Kie and Pope. They were asked by JJ to look out for you until he comes back from the 'doctor' as he told you.
As the screen door opens you just gave the boys a quick glance before focusing back on the tv. JJ moves to stand directly in front of it, holding the bag behind his back.
"I have a surprise for you, squirt." He grins and now you were paying attention to him, sitting up.
"Me?" You point at yourself. "What is it?"
He just tosses the bag onto your lap, watching in anticipation as you look into it. His smile widens when you gasp, quickly pulling out the bunny and holding it out to admire it.
"Is a bunny!" You squeal and all the pogues smile at your excitement. You jump off the couch and run over to hug JJ's legs tightly, the bunny clutched in your hand. "Fank you..."
Throughout the next week JJ notices how you treat your stuffed animal like an actual bunny, taking it with you everywhere, feeding it, letting it 'hop' around outside, and instead of a crate it would sleep on a pillow beside the bed you're both sharing at the Chateau.
"Not for that, kiddo." He rubs your back, glad that you're beyond happy and grateful for the gift he worked his ass off for. He would do anything for you.

Something's Not Right
Note: So this was actually half done when it was requested by someone so here we are...I hope you brought tissues. Song used for inspiration was Something's Not Right by Lilly Allen. I hope this is angsty enough for those who were looking for it..
Warnings: child loss, angst
Summary: Kyle gets a call that his wife has been rushed to the hospital...
“Sergeant Garrick, my name is Maddison, I’m a nurse at Royal London Hospital, your wife Y/N was brought in about 10 minutes ago, is there anyway that you can get here and quickly?” Came the soft voice of the stranger on the other side of the phone. A voice that he would undoubtedly remember for the rest of his life.
They wouldn’t let him drive himself, Price had taken his keys to his SUV and got in the driver’s seat. Soap and Ghost refused to stay behind and hopped in the back seat without a word. Kyle sat silently watching out the window, scenery passing by, but he didn’t really see anything, he was too lost in his thoughts. The nurse, after confirming that Kyle was in fact on his way, had gone on to explain what was happening, and it terrified him.
Y/N had been on her way to meet a friend for lunch, leaving the house and heading for the subway. Two men had been arguing near the steps down to the platform, shoving each other, and one horribly timed push later. Y/N was tumbling down the steps, her 7-month pregnant belly taking the brunt of it. His usually steady hands are shaking where they rest on his thighs. He tries not to think of what could happen. Everything was going to be fine.
Kyle was out of the car and running before it had even stopped, people staring at him as he ran through the halls of the hospital in his tactical gear, they had been running drills, and he hadn’t stopped to change. He managed to find the emergency department without too much trouble and approached the reception desk. A tired, older looking nurse with greying hair observed the man for a moment, trying to gauge how this was going to go, she’d seen many a time where families had rushed in and been downright hostile.
“Someone called me. Maddison? My wife, Y/N Garrick was brought in, maybe 45 minutes ago? Can I see her?”
The nurse’s eyes widened. She knew exactly who Y/N was because her arrival had caused quite a stir. She took a breath and motioned for him to follow her. “Come with me,”
The nurse led him to a little sitting room off to one side…a very, private room. Once he was in the room, the nurse spoke again. “Please wait here, I am going to grab her nurse.”
Kyle nodded, taking off his cap and running a hand through his short hair. Before the nurse went out of the room, he called out to her. “I have some friends who are with me, can they be brought back?” The nurse had stopped, turning back to him she nodded before disappearing around the corner. Kyle was pacing the room when she came back with the team, the three men sharing a look when they realized that a private waiting area wasn’t a good sign.
They waited in silence, Soap sitting in the corner, legs and arms crossed, anxiously pulling at the tools on his utility belt. John was seated across from him, watching Kyle pace, and Ghost was leaning against the wall, close to the door with his arms crossed. It wasn’t long before another nurse arrived, this one younger but looking just as tired, if not more so. Kyle stopped his pacing immediately. She looked around the room at each of the men.
“Sergeant Garrick?” She asked, needing to confirm just who the husband in question was. She had a good idea by the pacing but needed to be sure. When he nodded to her, she took a deep breath. “I’m Maddison. I think you should sit.”
That’s not a good sign he thought but did as he was told. “When can I see my wife?”
“It really should be a doctor speaking with you right now…but he can’t.” Maddison sighed before sitting across from him. “Y/N is in surgery right now. When she was pushed, her front took the brunt of things…the impact caused a placental abruption.” She waited for it to sink in before continuing. “This means, that the placenta has torn away from the uterus and has caused extensive bleeding. The doctor is one of the best in the world and he’s doing all he can to save her.
Kyle turned to look at Maddison, his face tense. “Her? Not them?” He’d picked up on it right away, the whole team had.
Maddison nodded sadly; this wasn’t going to be easy. “W-when your wife was brought in, she had already lost so much blood, and the baby was without oxygen for too long. When we did our initial testing, it indicated that the baby had passed.” Maddison paused. “I am so sorry; I know this is hard.”
Kyle swore his own heart had stopped. Just this morning he had been cuddling with Y/N, talking to the bump, excited for their future, for the daughter who would complete their family. A future that was brutally ripped from him and now Y/N was fighting for her life as well. He covered his face with his hands for a moment, feeling all eyes in the room on him. He took a deep breath before looking up at the nurse.
“Does she know?” He had to know what he was in for when she came out of surgery.
Maddison shook her head. “No, she was unconscious when she came in. I’m sorry I know nothing I say right now is going to make this better. I need to check on some patients, if you need anything, just pop out to the desk and they’ll grab me, as soon as I hear something I will let you know.” With that Maddison gone, Kyle was sure he saw her wiping her eyes as she went.
Kyle stared at the spot that she had just left. He had so many thoughts running through his head. Price and Soap were talking to him, but he couldn’t hear them. Instead, he was focused on how he was going to tell his wife that their baby was gone…and if he ever saw the man that pushed her, well he was going to wish that he’d never been born. He stayed lost in his thoughts for what felt like in reality it was just over two hours.
Another nurse came to update him. Y/N had pulled through surgery was now in a private room on one of the surgical floors. The team left for the night, giving their condolences. Price promised to stop by when he was given the go ahead, knowing that the support was going to be needed. Soap was going to drop off some clothes for him.
Kyle slowly made his way to the room, stopping outside the door. He didn’t go in right away. Instead, he stood tense, looking in the small window. He couldn’t see much, just the window and the bottom of the bed. He took a breath before pushing the door open. Y/N looked tiny in the bed, she was asleep, pale, a heart monitor beeping and an IV one with medication and another bag with blood. There was a chair next to the bed and he pulled it close so that he could sit next to the bed, taking her hand in his, his eyes went to her stomach where just 8 hours ago their child had been comfortably growing. It didn’t look much different, had he not known, he would think that she was still pregnant.
Kyle didn’t know how long that he sat there watching her, never letting go of her hand. He took in the bruises on her arms, her face and God only knew where else he would find bruises on her. He watched as she slowly started to stir, her eyes flickering under her closed eyelids and a groan coming from her. He squeezed her hand, letting her know that he was there. When her eyes were finally open, he could see the confusion as they finally were able to focus. She looked around the room before her eyes landed on his face.
“Kyle? W-what happened?” She was scared, he could tell. He squeezed her hand again, standing to lean over her and gently pressing a kiss on her forehead, smoothing her hair out. He took a deep breath before speaking.
“What do you remember love?” He needed to know so he could gauge how to handle the situation.
Y/N sat silently for a moment. “We got up, you showered, I made breakfast, you went to work, and I was going for lunch with Carrie.” Her eyes widened “Oh my god I fell…”
Kyle sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed and shook his head. “No love, you were pushed, went all the way down the tube stairs.” He watched the emotions flicker on her face, the shock turning into panic as her hands went to her stomach.
“K-Kyle? Is the baby okay.” He closed his eyes for a moment, resting his head against hers and wrapping his arms around her. How was he supposed to tell her?
“Sweetheart, I don’t…” He took a breath before cupping her cheek and turning her face to look at him. She knew he could tell by the look in her eyes. “I-I’m sorry love, we lost her.”
The wail that left his wife didn’t sound human. His heart clenched at the sounds and all he could do was hold her as she sobbed against him. Kyle wasn’t sure how long they stayed like that. He didn’t know what to say, what to do, so he just held her.
What seemed like hours later, a nurse came to check on Y/N. The nurse was quiet, checking her vitals. Before leaving the nurse hesitated for a moment. “I don’t know if anyone has offered…but if you want to see your daughter, we can bring her in. Normally you’d get to right away but with the surgery…”
Kyle felt guilty immediately. Not once had he thought about seeing his daughter. He was about to ask if they could have a few minutes, but Y/N spoke up. “Please, I need to see her.” It came out as barely a whisper, but she could be heard.
The nurse nodded, promising to return as soon as she could. Kyle held her close, concerned but also anxious to see their child. It wasn’t long before the nurse came back, carrying a tiny, wrapped bundle. Y/N bit her lip, fighting back tears but reaching out. Kyle held his breath as his wife took their baby into her arms, gently pulling the blanket away from the tiny face. He didn’t know why he did it, but he pulled out his phone, taking a few photos of them together without her knowing, Y/N’s focus being completely on the still baby in her arms. She had pulled the baby as close to her as she could, her forehead nearly touching the baby’s.
“I am so, so sorry baby girl, mama couldn’t protect you and now you don’t even get a chance…” she said, her heart breaking even further. “Mama loves you Cassidy, so much.”
Kyle, who had yet to allow himself to cry, felt the burning in his nose as tears tried to make their way out. “It’s not your fault love, not even a little.” He managed to choke out, he reached out, running a finger down the baby’s tiny cheek. “She’s…perfect.”
Y/N looked at him, her eyes full of tears again, she reached up resting her hand on his face. “She is…” She looked down at the baby again. “She has your stupidly perfect nose and chin.”
Kyle stared at Cassidy. Yes, she did have his nose and chin, but she had Y/N’s lips, her heart-shaped face, her hair, that was all Y/N. Y/N held the baby out to him, and he hesitated for a moment before taking her into his arms. She was so tiny, but so perfect. With her in his arms he finally broke, clutching her to his chest he let the tears fall, he buried his face into the bundle in his arms and sobbed, his body shaking. Y/N’s heart broke further, her strong, unflappable husband was crumbling to pieces in front of her and there was nothing she could do to fix it. She leaned against him, feeling one of his arms going around her shoulders, pulling her close so that they could cry together.
The nurse, who had silently returned to check on the broken family, slowly backed out of the room, closing the door behind her. She’d come back later. The family had a very long road ahead and she hoped that they had the support that they would need to get through this tragedy.

hi, can you write a fluff about the Smiths' Christmas family tradition? like, do they watch 11th doctor's special for Christmas? or it is just one Christmas when Y/N is seized by a whim and wants to review one of Matt's film with kids on the Christmas eve and Matt's reaction to that... (hope that i fully deliver my message, my English isn't very good :)
Christmas Chaos
Matt Smith x reader
Fluff

The soft glow of Christmas lights filled the living room, and the crackling fireplace added a comforting warmth to the festive atmosphere. Snow fell lazily outside, covering the world in a blanket of white, while the “Doctor Who” Christmas special played in the background. Lilly and Jack were curled up on the couch, snug in matching reindeer Christmas pajamas, their eyes glued to the screen. Little Max, still too young to fully understand the story, sat cross-legged on the floor, clutching an action figure that vaguely resembled the Doctor.
In the kitchen, Yn rolled out cookie dough, the flour dusting her fingers and hair. The scent of roasted turkey wafted through the air, mingling with cinnamon and nutmeg from the mulled wine bubbling on the stove. Matt, nearby in a comically oversized apron that read “Kiss the Cook”, was halfway through stirring a questionable pot of cranberry sauce.
“Matt, I need the butter,” Yn said, brushing flour off her nose.
He frowned, looking down at the sugar container in his hands. “This isn’t butter?”
Yn sighed, trying not to laugh. “It’s in the fridge. Middle shelf.”
Matt opened the fridge, rooting around until he found it. “You’ve hidden it all the way in the back, haven’t you? Trying to sabotage my cranberry masterpiece?”
“Yes, Matt,” Yn teased, “because you’ve always been such a renowned chef.”
He grinned, tossing her the butter. Yn caught it with ease, raising an eyebrow. “Don’t kill me with that stick.”
He raised his brow with a smirk and chuckled. “What can I say? Living life on the edge is my specialty,” he quipped, leaning on the counter like he was a suave chef from a cooking show.
Yn rolled her eyes but smiled. “Why don’t you check on the kids before your ‘specialty’ burns down the kitchen?”
“I’ll have you know,” Matt said as he walked into the living room, “that this cranberry sauce is a culinary masterpiece in progress!”
Inside, Jack was enthusiastically narrating the episode to Lilly.
“And then the Doctor’s gonna swoop in and save everyone!” Jack said, bouncing on the couch.
Lilly rolled her eyes. “He always does. That’s the point of the show.”
Max looked up at Matt as he entered the room. “Daddy, that you?” he asked, pointing to the screen.
Matt crouched down next to him. “It sure is, buddy. But not really. It’s a pretend story.”
Max’s little brow furrowed. “Why you have much hair there?” he pointed to the tv again.
Matt gasped dramatically, putting a hand to his chest. “Excuse me? Are you saying I don’t have a lot of hair now?”
Jack chimed in, giggling. “You have less! You’re getting old, Daddy!”
“I am not old!” Matt cried, fluffing up his still thick, unruly hair. “This is premium, luxurious, fluffy hair! How dare you insult it!”
The kids collapsed into a fit of laughter, while Max reached up to pat Matt’s head. “Yes, fluffy Daddy.”
“Thank you, Max,” Matt said, pretending to wipe away a tear. “At least someone appreciates me.”
Back in the kitchen, Yn smirked as she overheard the conversation. “Matt, stop being so dramatic and bring the kids in to help with the cookies!”
A few minutes later, the kitchen descended into chaos as the kids eagerly grabbed cookie cutters and frosting. Lilly was determined to make a star, Jack was focused on trees, and Max insisted on creating a snowman.
“Mine looks perfect!” Lilly declared, holding up her star proudly.
“It’s a blob,” Jack teased, poking at it with a toothpick.
“Yours looks like a mushroom,” Lilly shot back, sticking her tongue out.
Meanwhile, Max, in his excitement, had managed to smear frosting all over his snowman—and his face. Matt laughed, crouching down to wipe his cheek. “Buddy, the frosting goes on the cookie, not on you.”
“But it tasty!” Max giggled, licking a bit off his finger.
Yn turned to see Jack attempting to sprinkle sugar over the tray, only to knock over the entire container. A mountain of glittering sugar coated the counter and some of the cookies.
“Oops,” Jack said sheepishly.
“Jack!” Lilly cried, though she couldn’t help laughing.
Yn and Matt exchanged a look, both trying not to burst out laughing themselves. “Well,” Yn said finally, “these cookies are going to be… unique.”
“Festive, I love it.” Matt added, holding up a tree-shaped cookie that looked more like a bush.
Despite the mess, the kids were beaming with pride as they placed their creations on a tray for the oven. As the cookies baked, the chaos didn’t end—Max tried to eat raw dough, Jack started a sprinkle fight, and Lilly declared herself the frosting queen. Yet, Matt and Yn wouldn’t have had it any other way.

i've watched way too many wicked bootlegs in the past few weeks and so. reviews of the elphabas i've watched so far (in alphabetical order by last name, this is NOT a ranking).
stephanie j block
she's good! not my favorite i've seen, but i did enjoy her performance overall. i liked her scenes at shiz with doctor dillamond a lot. i really liked how she made the role her own; not sure if it's her singing voice or general speaking intonation or some combination of it all but something felt very distinct from the other elphabas i've watched. no good deed was CRAZY. also her chemistry with sebastian arcelus (fiyero) is solid--i looooooved as long as you're mine. given that they're married this makes sense lmfao, but still thought i'd mention it. fiyero's little spellcasting hand motions and elphaba scoffing and rolling her eyes is actually adorable. another side note but i will also say that annaleigh ashford as glinda was WAY better than i expected and i'm a little obsessed with her.
lilli cooper
ok im gonna be a little harsh here, i'm sorry but i didn't love this cast as a whole (kara lindsay as glinda, jerad bortz as fiyero). cooper had some really good acting moments (particularly in popular and in for good) and i liked her chemistry with glinda (more about lindsay later though) but i just don't think she sang the part quite as well as anyone else in this post. i liked cooper in spring awakening, and looking at her other roles, i'm sure she kills it in those! she just wasn't elphaba for me.
jennifer dinoia
VERY good!!! loved her chemistry with kara lindsay (glinda). unfortunately everything abt kara lindsay is so deeply newsies to me and this was very distracting the entire time. which is not either of their faults so not a fair point of judgment. anyways. overall i really liked how they played off each other. dinoia is super underrated imo. i will say i think her defying gravity isn't the best out there, but i really love her acting overall and the wizard and i was great. she was also so cute in dancing through life so points for that. she does hopeful really well, which is really neat to see in an elphaba. also i found my old playbills later and shes one of the elphabas i saw live! so that's neat.
eden espinosa
quite enjoyed her!!! really strong belt. also quite enjoyed this glinda (megan hilty), but that's a different post. also this fiyero (derrick williams) slaps. damn this cast is just really good together. anyways back to espinosa. her acting is so good i love her. the toss toss with fiyero was fucking adorable and then the immediate switch to outrage over dr dillamond was crazy. she and hilty also have a really good dynamic i love it. alaym was also solid ("you can see houses flying through the sky but not that?" n her little laugh? man. i love elphaba). i think espinosa's biggest strength is her acting--she's a crazy good singer, too, don't get me wrong, but her acting all throughout is absolutely stellar.
mandy gonzalez
VERY much enjoyed her!!!! absolutely incredible as long as you're mine with andy karl--i think they might have my favorite rendition of that song so far. fabulous no good deed as well. i liked how she fell into the last pose at the end of that song. definitely a favorite version of i'm not that girl. took a minute for me to warm up to her acting wise, honestly, but i was very much convinced by the end.
idina menzel
watched her and kristin chenoweth and norbert leo butz and joel grey's last show together, which was a mistake because i am in hysterics. oh my god. so side note but while obviously there are many actresses who have done the role, kristin chenoweth is THE GLINDA. like she's THE glinda. there are other glindas, and there are good glindas, but kc is THE glinda. anyways. okay. sobbing. okay. so idina menzel is , like, the gold standard for elphabas obviously. she's the original broadway elphaba, the defying gravity notes are hers, she's one of the best to ever step on the gershwin wicked stage. i loooooved her passion, and i actually liked how it wasn't always plagued with defensiveness or anger. her no good deed SLAYS though. she did break a few times but i'm giving her a free pass because it was the last obc cast performance and everyone on that stage and in the room was falling apart emotionally. anyways. she's the gold standard, she really is. no words will do her justice. god. im normal about wicked.
dee roscioli
she was good! idk not super notable/memorable to me? i really did like her overall!! she's very skilled and i can appreciate that for sure. just not the best imo. dynamic with clifton hall (fiyero) was really good though, so win for both of them for that.
willemijn verkaik
FAVE FAVE FAVE. i loooooveeed her. so good. absolutely one of the best i've seen so far. her singing is absolutely showstopping. after defying gravity i had to pause and scream alone in my kitchen for a bit. her no good deed is also incredible. she also is so clearly theatre through and through--her balance of strong acting and INSANE singing was really well done. outstanding as long as you're mine, too (kyle dean massey as fiyero was also really good in that; and later the "i wish i could be beautiful for you" and "touch, i don't mind" moments made me feel insane about them). her chemistry with katie rose clarke (glinda) was also quality. fr had me thinking maybe this time glinda would go with her. maybe this time it would work out. oh and her scenes with nessa were also outstanding. for good literally sent me into hysterical sobbing so points for that. god. overall she 10000% was part of the re-igniting of my brainrot over wicked. she's so good. man. god. ok. im normal.
donna vivino
first off, did NOT know she was the original young cosette, so that's irrelevant but super cool! anyways, REALLYYYYY loved her. great dynamic with fiyero (not sure of the actor in this one), and the way she played off glinda in for good specifically was *chef's kiss*. no good deed had me absolutely SOLD on her. i think she has the best rendition of that one that i've seen. moments that remind me that i fucking love THEATRE!!!!! overall she has an incredible voice, and her acting was good as well! had me shaking and trembling during elphaba's biggest scenes (no good deed and for good in particular). i also really liked that she clearly wasn't just trying to be a carbon copy of idina menzel (as some replacements definitely do with the original actor in all roles in any show)--she instead definitely made the role her own, and i really appreciated the choices she made both vocally and acting wise.
jessica vosk
oh she had me wrapped around her finger from line ONE. her voice is absolutely gorgeous, and her acting is spot on. she has so many little gestures that i loved, little small smiles or scoffs or whatever that just felt so fitting. she embodied the character so well. her no good deed made me want to stand up and scream even though i am so cozy in bed. chemistry with glinda (allison bailey) was really solid; popular was really fun. also just generally speaking and as huge side note, her story of how she rose to broadway success makes me feel a little crazy. anyways. maybe i'll try to see her in hell's kitchen. i LOVE her voice.
#been working on it for a while but i reached 10 on this list so i figured i would post this finally lol#im sooooooo normal about wicked#wicked#wicked musical#wicked broadway#wicked cast review

Before she was born, this little girl developed a dangerous condition that led blood to pool in a 14-millimeter-wide pocket in her brain. The condition could have resulted in brain damage, heart problems, and breathing difficulties after birth. It could have been fatal. The baby girl was born healthy. She didn’t need any treatment for the malformation.

Charming
Media The Artful Dodger
Character Jack Dawkins
Couple Jack X Reader
Rating Sexy
I sat in my room with my book laid on my sofa by the fire, the pages of my book lit by the dancing flames of my fire. I perked up as I heard quiet footsteps but I suppose perhaps just some member of my family up doing something, perhaps my brother Luke up for a late-night slice of cake. But my bedroom door opened and my younger sister Lilly scampered inside in her nightie and robe shutting the door behind her and leaning on it.
"Yes?" I asked,
"You have a visitor," she cooed,
"Do I?"
"Yes, there is a gentleman at my window."
"...Doesn't that seem then that you have a visitor?"
"No, He's for you." she giggled as she grabbed my hand and tugged me to my window to see the amusing sight, "It's Doctor Dawkins," She giggled,
I struggled not to laugh as I opened my window looking out seeing Jack stood in the darkness surrounded by the mud and flowers of the garden, in his usual attire jacket and hat included, a handful of small rocks in his hand all of which he was throwing at the window.
At Lilly's window two down from my own.
I rolled my eyes a moment and leaned my elbow on the windowsill and my chin on my hand watching him for a while till he ran out of rocks, then sat his hands on his hips pulling a confused and mildly annoyed face. So I spoke up.
"Hey!" I whispered and yelled, "Prince Charming,"
He jumped and seemed very confused as he looked over to my window,
"Wh- what are you?"
"Wrong window."
"Ohh..." He gulped, "Who uhh who have I been throwing rocks at?"
Lilly smiled and poked her head out the window to wave, "Hi doctor Dawkins,"
"OOohhh..." He gulped, "Sorry Lilly,"
"It's fine," she giggled before she poked her head back in,
"Fourth from the door, fourth from the door," he repeated trying to make sure he remembered as he came and approached my window with his usual sly smile, so I shot him back a wicked smirk. "Hello Princess,"
"Hello, Prince Charming," I cooed,
He smirked back at me, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel Let down your sweet luscious Y/H/C hair, so I may climb it to be with you, my sweet princess."
"Hummm... Charming." I smiled, "But you could just use the door." I smiled pointing to the staircase and door that led to my room so I could come and go from the gardens as I pleased,
"Hu... Yeah, that would be easier." He nodded, and he happily climbed the stairs so I shut my window and fixed my nightie as he hopped into my room, "Hummm a staircase and door right into the sweet princess bedroom, now they're just making it too easy for me." he smirked,
"You got lost looking for my window I'm not sure they have too much to worry about," I laughed,
"It's a big house, there are a lot of windows. I'm lucky I got as close as I did." He complained, as he came close wrapping his arms around my waist to pull me to his chest, which I happily accepted caressing his arms too,
"Very lucky, goodness knows the chaos if you'd have guest mother and father's room."
"I got very lucky I got my princess." He smirked,
"Are you going to kiss now?" Lilly spoke up still lingering in my room,
"I don't know, Are we princess?" he smirked,
"Yes." I smirked as I rubbed my nose on his, "So get out Lilly."
"Ooohh" She giggled excitedly,
"Out." we both fold her
She happily scampered away shutting my bedroom door,
"That's better, my prince charming and I all alone."
"Humm much better. I get my princess all alone in her bedroom, whatever shall we get up to."
"What indeed." I cooed pulling him down into a kiss, he happily kissed back tightening his grip on me, he lifted me to carry me in his arms to my bed dropping me on the mattress and leaving me to blush and giggle as he tossed off his hat, coat, and waistcoat throwing them to the floor. "Getting comfortable my prince?" I bit my lip,
"Very comfortable." he smirked Kneeling on the bed between my legs, "Now... Let my princess out of that dress," he growled pulling me back into a heavy lustful kiss,

i am here again to talk about high-school!matt, best friend but with the alchemy this time bc ive been obsessed. ive said how his best friend who he's down bad for would read and do her work at his lacrosse practices while he does his best at every practice she is at bc she's there and she watches him play
what if the best friend ends up in the hospital (nothing traumatic she's just at the hospital lol) and the doctors say she has to stay for 3 days and she realized that meant she would be missing matts final game and she feels terrible. obviously matt is upset bc he needs u to be there but he wants u to get better (as much as it kills him). so the night before his match, he brings her a bouquet of get well soon flowers (definitely was an excuse to buy her flowers) and tells her how he wished she was there. then the next day almost mid day the doctors say she's actually ready to go and as much as her parents try to convince to rest for the rest of the day, she adamantly refuses bc she needs to see matt play.
so then she's basically going there with a bouquet of blue lillies and matt has no idea she's there. the lacrosse players come out and she can tell matt isnt enthusiastic but she doesnt know her absense is the reason. in the beginning of the game, he's distracted bc he's worried about her and he just wants her to be there. but then he ends up spotting her and it's like he's seeing her for the first time again and can't believe she's acc here (he full on was convinced he was hallucinating). after they won, matt should be going to chris and his team but the only thing on his mind is her and now instead of getting his trophy and medal, he's running to her and hugging her ans gently picking her up bc he's still concerned about her health. and she gives him the flowers andddd that's all i have
sorry this was long lmao and prob corny but it's the alchemy so it's fine
- 🦒(the so high school and the alchemy matt enthusiast)
PLS IM BEGGING U MAKE THIS A FIC

Have you noticed how women are used in the film? Their suffering, grief, ambitions and even deaths. It all benefits the men.
yes, i have! i think it was during the first time i watched with two of my friends that we mentioned how fucked up it seemed to bring in lilly. she was an abused child in circumstances that june describes as inhumane and now she's supposed to come on and chat about said abuse.
to better delve into this though, i'm going to do a little ramble on each female character (i've been meaning to this regardless so this question has me excited!)
Lilly
as i mentioned before, lilly, to the public, is an abused child who has been rescued from a cult and is now the subject of dr. june's book. i believe that june really did care for lilly but she in a way, was still benefiting from her by writing about her. something to study while parenting. reminds me a bit about parents who write about raising troubled children.
jack brings them onto the show almost because he knows how shocking this is to audiences, to have survived what lilly did. i think that fear and shame but also desire kiss on the mouth. the public both fears the occult but want to learn more, there is some sort of fascination with the idea of someone being in it and being able to get out of it (would people do the same?). lilly is a spectacle. she is to go from not knowing the outside world to standing in front of the camera and expecting to behave like a typical girl her age. it's almost like she has to prove herself well-adjusted after her trauma.
june explains to her that everyone having a demon inside of them, acknowledging that lilly's might be a little more literal but because the demon serves as a stark reminder of her time in the cult, it's similar to someone working around their triggers. everyone has hurt in them. like a therapist helping you work with carrying that hurt rather than just suppressing it. clearly the demon leaves lilly exhausted, upset and feel not like herself. she's crying after her scene and asking june as to why she's hurt her, and apologizing for whatever happened when Mr. Wriggles was there. she is not in control of her actions. but jack wants more. he's momentarily sympathetic but realizes that it's getting him higher ratings. the more hurt is displayed, the happier than the media is.
even in the final scene, when the demon possesses her, we can see it in her face that she's distraught. confused. but all the camera does is zoom in on her expression,
June
june is so intriguing to me as a character because it's almost as though her instinct toward things is a calm and collected behavior, one that thinks of the ethics of it, whether anyone will get hurt, but her decisions are so easily swayed by jack. and he knows exactly what to tell her too. Everyone finally take you seriously. It is the 70s so there's no surprise that misogyny is rampant (though the 70s did introduce the second wave of feminism, she may be a representation of challenging attitudes as well). june is a very passionate woman in her studies, she'd be considered an expert in the field but this is almost immediately dismissed as soon as she's introduced as a doctor. you call yourself that. is that what you believe you are? can you prove you are?
i think it makes june feel better if everyone has a distance from lilly - hence writing a book about her. you can know lilly through the pages. you don't need to make her suffer for views then, you can educate yourself on what was happened to her and understand she's hurt more than necessary. she might've felt the need to write the book for them both. lilly need to be understood and emphasized with as more than just a "child of d'abo". but jack invites her with the idea of simply talking about said book, one of her biggest accomplishments and instead wants to treat them like some sort of circus act. do a trick for me, june! you know how to! it's not enough that you tell me you know, you have to show me, you have to prove yourself to me, the camera makes it real.
it is that logic that sometimes makes her feel inclined to prove herself. and sometimes this is at the cost of her own morals.
Minnie
my beautiful wife,,,
i love minnie. so much. i've written a bit about how i think she was prior to her death in other asks but i never quite touch so much on how much she was exploited by both jack and the industry.
to be ill is a personal affair. and it was on all the tabloids whenever minnie was diagnosed with cancer (even if she did not smoke! i mention this because while smoking might contribute to lung cancer, it did feel like an odd mention that they'd pay so much attention to whether or not she did? it might've been to emphasize how sudden this all was but i'd also like to throw in that perhaps she was also just taking care of her voice! she was in theatre.) she has no privacy to mourn the gradual loss of her life. some people believe the cult was implied to be the one who had made this illness manifest for her which is awful in its own regard and more so when one considers the fact they did it to get to jack. almost as though minnie is an extension of himself and not his own person.
jack inviting her to the show could very well be done just because he wanted to invite his wife (though it does feel a bit odd he waited till she was sick to do this. maybe it was some sort of public gesture of affection, they both live to entertain, it's their job) but there's something saddening about the ordeal. it's almost as though knowing minnie was sick was not enough, the public had to see her in order to have some sort of confirmation. and the immediate comment about inviting her over being followed how even then, this wasn't enough to surpass johnny carson is morbid to say the least. almost as though minnie had just been used as a way to gain better ratings. sympathy ratings. i don't want to remove any agency of minnie, it might have been her decision to go on the show but the public's reaction to is that is what is more concerning.
even her death was simply a sacrifice. she was nothing more than a missing puzzle piece to have jack move forward (or downwards?). something that would benefit jack. as all the women in the film have been. each with such distinct personalties and motives to what keeps them going (or who are still amidst figuring out what they'd want out of life) being only part of a larger scheme where men are the benefactors. the grove only allowed men. the cult birthed sacrifices from their women. women are a stepping stone. a chess piece. something that needs to bleed for someone who demands it.
i love writing about how compelling these characters are! so sorry if sometimes my ramblings feel leaning more towards just dissection rather than downright analysis! i hope it gave some insight though!

There's Three of You?! Pt. 15

Part 2 of this crossover-based arc. Hope you enjoy!
Warnings: foul language, might be some medical inconsistencies.
CHAPTER 15
The worry hadn’t diminished at all since I heard the news on Herrmann, and apparently now Zanetti was involved in that mess too, so I took my distance, focusing instead on Jessica and her unprogressive stay at Med.
At some point, Ms. Goodwin came to the ED to talk to Ethan about Jessica, I had managed to not be called for it, until I saw Severide and Jay make an entrance to the hospital. Jay had a bag with him.
“How is she?” asked Jay, I walked over to my boss and the two newest guests in our territory.
“The same. It turns out she was on chemo.” said Ms. Goodwin.
“What do you guys know about her?” I asked, they all turned to me.
“Not a lot at this time.” said my brother, looking at Goodwin and then me.
“That's all that was salvaged from the scene.” said Severide, looking at the bag Jay had just raised a little so we could see.
“That's her personal belongings– a couple of books, receipts.” said Severide.
“We processed them, didn't find anything useful.” said Jay.
“Hey, Daniel, why don't you take a look at this?” Ms. Goodwin asked the psychiatrist.
“Never know what you might find.” said Dr. Charles while taking the bag and opening it. “A lot of receipts. Organized. Getting ready for tax season.” he added.
“Guys?” Erin said, calling everyone’s attention to her as she walked to us. “Forensics just came in. They only found her prints at the scene. There's no signs of foul play. All the evidence is pointing to suicide.” she added, I was confused.
Then Jay saw someone behind me and, after hugging me, excused himself. I turned to see who had called his attention, only to see Will standing there.
JAY’S P.O.V
“Hey.” I said to my older brother.
“What's up?” he asked, holding an iPad with, what I assume, is a patient file.
“Can I ask you a doctor question?” I asked him.
“Sure, come on.” he answered, nodding his head to the side and I followed him a little bit down the ED floor, away from anyone who could eavesdrop.
“Um, Herrmann.” I said, as a way to get on topic.
“Yeah.” Will said, as a way for me to know he was listening.
“If he'd come in on your watch, would you have waited so long before doing anything?” I asked, he looked to the side.
“That's a tough call.” He said, looking at someone or something behind me. “It's been a while since my surgical residency.” then he turned to look at me. “And, you know, I wasn't there for the exam, so it's hard to say.” he said.
“Yeah, just in general.” I said, trying to get something to tell Severide.
“In general?” he asked, then he nodded. “Yeah, I probably would have gone in.” just then, Natalie passed by us, and Will turned to her. “But, uh, again, I wasn't there.” he said, getting a bit tongue tied.
“Right. Thanks.” I decided to tease, just by smiling at him.
“Don't.” he said. I didn’t say anything else, but when I turned to go to Kelly, I saw Lilly looking at us, and then walked over to Will.
LILLY’S P.O.V
“What did you guys talk about?” I asked Will, practically sneaking up on him and making him jump.
“Jesus… nothing Lilly, boys stuff.” he said, looking back at Natalie, and then, as if he remembered, he lightly hit me with the iPad he was holding.
“The hell was that for?” I asked him, pretending it did hurt.
“For sneaking up on me. You nearly gave me a heart attack.” he said.
“At least you’d be in the right place.” I said, he lightly pushed my shoulder, snorting at my comment. I then walked to the back of the nurses station to use one of the computers to check on some files and see if my job application had gone through.
I really hope it did, I know I’m a junior resident, but my place is here at Med.
I was looking through Jessica’s file again, to see if we had managed to miss something, but I was reading the same information as the last three times I had read it. Before I knew it, Will was standing beside me, his pen in his mouth, a look of complete concentration on his face.
Suddenly, Dr. Charles started talking to Ms. Goodwin, and I couldn’t help but overhear their conversation.
“I'm not convinced.” said the chief of psychiatry.
“About what?” asked Goodwin.
“Jessica pope had a confirmation for a round-trip ticket from Paris six months from now, okay? Presumably when she's in remission. A person--a conservative, responsible person--with cancer? They don't do that unless they have high hopes. Right? So she's sick, but she thinks she's getting better. Why would she kill herself? Something's hinky.” he said, explaining to Ms. Goodwin his ideas about the reason why this woman ended up in the ED.
“«Hinky»? Did you just say «hinky»?” asked Ms. Goodwin.
“Humor me. Women almost always leave suicide notes. Where's the note?” he asked, I couldn’t help but mentally agree with him.
“Well, maybe it was destroyed in the fire.” said the former nurse.
“Or maybe it wasn't a suicide.” said the older doctor.
“Have you been binging on «Mannix» again?” asked Ms. Goodwin.
“You don't like it, stop sending me box sets for Christmas.” said Dr. Charles.
“All right, okay. Next year, it'll be «Sanford and Son.»” said Ms. Goodwin before leaving the ED.
“Dr. Halstead?” Dr. Charles asked us, I looked up at him, Will didn’t even look away from his computer screen, I almost slapped him.
At least he took the pen out of his mouth.
“Do you think that your policeman brother might do you a little favor?” he asked, Will turned to him, while I just looked at the older doctor. Then we both made eye contact, copper meeting hazel.
I decided to go to the lounge for some coffee, so I made my way there and then I texted Jay.
To: Jaybird 💙
Hey!
Do you mind coming back to the hospital?
I need to ask you something.
From: Jaybird 💙
Sure, I’ll be there in 30 (traffic).
To: Jaybird 💙
Ok, see you in a bit.
Love you. ❤️
From: Jaybird 💙

Once that was sorted out, I prepared my coffee, and as I was about to put down the coffee pot, Connor stormed in.
“You seem in a foul mood.” I said, he just sat down on the couch, so I decided to be a good friend and prepared him a coffee, using that as a method to make time while waiting on Jay.
I offered him the mug, he looked up, then looked at the table. I followed the unsaid order and left the mug on the coffee table. Just as I did that, my phone pinged.
From: Jaybird 💙
I’m here.
To: Jaybird 💙
Meet you at the nurses desk.
“See you around Connor. Hope you like the coffee, and please keep an eye on mine.” I said, as I walked out, leaving my cup next to his.
“Sorry to ask you this, but Dr. Charles, he's on a thing about that attempted suicide.” Will started to tell Jay.
“He's not buying it.” I added.
“What's not to buy? You heard the report. There's no signs of foul play.” said Jay, a bit incredulous.
“I know.” Will and I said at the same time.
“But could you just take one more look? Turn over a few rocks?” Will said, hitting his shoulder lightly.
“Ugh, come on.” he said, a bit irritated.
“Please Jay… for us?” I asked, two seconds away from using my puppy eyes on him.
“All right, how about a pound of smoked trout from Calumet?” asked Will, as a way to convince Jay.
“All right, two and you got a deal.” Jay answered, they both shook hands, and then my brunette brother turned to me and we do the same to seal the deal.
Of course, Will hit the nail in the head. It’s Jay’s favorite.
“My man.” Will said.
“Shut up.” said Jay while leaving.
“You're our hero.” I said before he left.
CONNOR’S P.O.V
Lilly had just left the lounge when Zanetti entered, she sat down on the coffee table, mindful of the two cups of coffee there.
“Your patient, Herrmann, he's stable?” she asked me.
“He's still on the vent, but, yeah.” I answered honestly.
“In the O.R. when I said what I did… You know that I'm only hard on the good surgeons, right?” she asked, I wanted to laugh at that.
“Is that right?” I asked, looking up at her from my hunched down position.
“Yeah, I'm not gonna change because we're sleeping together.” she said. “If you've got some male power thing where you can't get it up unless I constantly applaud your surgical prowess…” she added in an attempt to joke, I wasn’t having it.
“Did you say something to fire about me mishandling him?” I asked her point blank about it.
“What?” she answered with a question.
“You heard me.” I said softly.
“You think that I would do something like that?” she asked.
“Somebody did.” was my simple answer.
“If you think for one second that I would undermine a colleague, no matter how I felt about his choices…” she started.
As if you didn’t humiliate me in the O.R
“Maybe I need to reassess this.” she said, and she left as if I had wronged her.
I then turned to the coffee table, seeing the cup Lilly had made for me, I took a sip, and then left it right where it was before. I turned to the ED to see the three Halsteads talking.
Could it be…
I couldn’t help but think as I saw them, then they shook hands and Jay left, Will went one way and Lilly came back to the lounge, as soon as she entered she made eye contact with me.
“Hey there Dr. Grumpy Puss, was the coffee good?” she asked, making a small smile appear on my face.
She wouldn’t… but the other Halstead could.
LILLY’S P.O.V
It had been a while, and I had received word from Dr. Choi that, apparently April’s younger brother, Noah, had ordered a mass spectrometry on Jessica Pope. I was shocked, because I remembered Reese being the one talking about it. Just when I thought I could go and talk to her about it, Jay showed up. I turned and motioned Will to come to us.
“Turned over some rocks on the Jessica pope case like you asked me to.” said Jay as his greeting to us both.
“And?” I asked, praying for a miracle.
“Had the documents lab restore some papers from her place. And they found this.” Jay said, handing Will a paper, which he turned slightly so we both could check it out.
“Thank you.” we said to him at the same time.
“Dr. Charles.” I called the other doctor’s attention.
“Suicide note?” he asked while Will handed him the paper.
“Mm-hmm.” we hummed at the same time.
“But she didn't do it because she was sick.” said Will
“«... my fault because I trusted him. I'm a fool. I can't live with this betrayal.»" Dr. Charles read parts of the note.
“Maybe a lover?” asked Will.
“Is this the whole thing?” asked the chief of psychiatry.
“That's all they could restore.” I said.
Ethan walked by and stopped right next to me.
“What's going on?” he asked.
“Jessica pope. Suicide after all.” said Dr. Charles, to explain what we were talking about.
“Really? Because I just got some very weird test results.” he said, that got our attention. “They confirm she's dying from an overdose of chemo.” he added.
“What's weird about that?” Will asked.
“The results also show… she never had cancer.” he said. Dr. Charles, Will and I looked at each other.
What the hell is going on here?
I left to check on Herrmann, and another patient I had to monitor because of a sinus infection that had arrived shortly after learning of Jessica’s results. Not even an hour later, I heard Connor’s name being called by the mic system to the ED, I stood back, leaving him and Will to deal with that, but I heard something that made me stop and turn towards the treatment room.
“You by any chance share those opinions with your brother?” asked Connor, serious and even a bit angry at Will.
Wait, what?
“What, Herrmann?” Will asked, Connor nodded.
He wouldn’t…
“Look, Jay asked, so I told him.” was Will’s answer.
HE DID?!
I immediately made my way to the doctors lounge, and called my brother. He picked up at the second ring.
“Hey there LilyBloom! What’s up?” he asked as if nothing was wrong.
“Did you ask Will about Connor’s course of action regarding Herrmann?” I asked, point blank.
“Look. Kelly asked me to ask Will. He wanted to know if his condition could’ve been avoided.” answered Jay, I wanted to slap both of them… well, the three of them, if you add Severide to the mix.
“One, you had no right to do that, I bet Will told you in confidence. And two, you wanted answers, you asked the wrong sibling!” I exclaimed, I could hear Jay’s jaw drop.
“What are you talking about?” he asked, clearly confused.
“I’m saying that I was primary, along with Connor, when Herrmann was brought in, you absolute idiot!” I exclaimed, I could only hear silence on the other end of the line.
“Shit.” said Jay, I could see him dragging his hand through his face.
“Yes. Shit. And now, Will and Connor are arguing while treating a patient.” I said, actually furious.
“Wait, what? Are you for real?” Jay sounded surprised.
“Is it really that hard to believe? Connor thinks that Will doesn’t trust his judgment call. Plus, they’re both doctors, and you know how we doctors get when someone with ZERO MEDICAL EXPERIENCE dares to question our decisions, based on what another doctor thinks.” I said to him, I could pretty much hear Adam whisper a “damn, she’s mad” and someone -probably Kim- shutting him up.
“Lilly… I swear I had no idea…” he started, I cut him up.
“Jay, save it. Really, save it. It’s not me you have to apologize to, it’s Connor. But next time, ask which Dr. Halstead treated a patient before making «hypothetical questions» about said patient.” I said, obviously pissed before hanging up.
JAY’S P.O.V
Lilly called me and I answered, I put the phone on speaker because I had my hands occupied with the report I was writing down, what I didn’t expect was to get another one ripped into me.
“Jay, save it. Really, save it. It’s not me you have to apologize to, it’s Connor. But next time, ask which Dr. Halstead treated a patient before making «hypothetical questions» about said patient.” and with that she hung up.
“You’re screwed” said Atwater.
“I think you mean dead.” said Ruzek, none of them helping.
“You’re not helping.” I said, leaving my phone on the table, and then letting my fall on the chair’s back. I ran my hands through my hair and then down my face.
“Knowing her, she won’t kill you.” said Kim, trying to cheer me up.
“Oh she will.” said Erin, not helping my case.
“I don’t think so, she’s really sweet.” the brunette defended.
“You haven’t seen her angry.” Voight’s gruff voice said from where he was standing at his office’s door.
I let out a groan. “How much did you hear Sarge?” I asked the man.
“Everything. And she’s right. You need to apologize to Dr. Rhodes… maybe even to her and Will.” he said.
“My apology won’t be accepted until after she kills me.” I said.
“Maybe. But she’s your sister. You’ll sort it out.” he said.
“Hope you’re right Sarge… or else I’m a dead man.” I said, that got me a snort from everyone.
LILLY’S P.O.V
After that phone call, I went out and went to check on the pair of hotheaded doctors in the trauma room, when I heard the hard part for anyone.
“1 of epi.” ordered Connor, after a bit he gave another order. “Stop compressions.” he said, and then checked for a pulse.
I then heard the monitor be turned off.
“Time of death, 16:21.” he called.
“No!” the woman, who I can only assume was the family of the patient, started sobbing uncontrollably, and it was heartbreaking.
Eventually I heard Natalie went to console the poor woman, but my concern for the moment was a pretty mad student doctor Sarah Reese, who just happened to barge into the break room. I followed her.
“What’s with the long face?” I asked her, she turned, surprised to see me.
“Dr.- I mean Lilly! Didn’t see you there.” she said, I looked at her, questioning look on my face. She caved two seconds later.
“Noah, April’s brother, took credit for a test I ordered.” she said, I looked shocked.
“I mean… can’t say it hasn’t happened to me, but ouch. You good?” I asked her, gently putting my hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
“Yeah… just pissed.” she said, I laughed a bit at that.
“And that’s understandable, tell you what, after shift, I’ll buy you a drink. Sounds good?” I asked her, she blushed.
“I… I don’t drink.” she said, I let out a soft Halstead Chuckle®, squeezing her shoulder in reassurance.
“Doesn’t have to be alcohol. We could have a coffee, tea, or even a soda if you want. The point is… let me take you out somewhere so you, a) aren’t alone tonight, and b) don’t kill Noah’s stupid ass when you see him next time.” I said to her with a smile.
Her blush became a bit more noticeable, going from a pale pink to a shade darker. “Oh… uhm… okay, sure.” she said, looking anywhere but me.
“Let me just say this, and I don’t mean this to sound as too direct, nor plan on offending you in any way, but… you’re cute when you blush Reese.” I said to her, winked at her and then left the room, going to find either Connor or Will to have a go at them for arguing while treating a patient.
Imagine my surprise when I found both my brothers in the waiting room.
Jackpot.
As I made my way to them, the idiots started arguing… as always.
“Did you tell Severide what I said to you in confidence?” asked Will to Jay.
“What?” Jay asked, I could see he was playing dumb.
“About Herrmann?” answered Will, I could see him losing his patience.
“You never said that was in confidence.” said Jay.
Sweet Jesus… I’m killing him.
“Great. In the future, do me a favor. Don't ask me any more hypothetical questions.” said Will, understandably mad.
“Fine. Then don't ask me to bring you any more sensitive materials from police investigations.” said Jay.
And just when he was about to leave, I stood in his way.
“How about next time, both of you pull your heads out of your asses and avoid making yourselves look like assholes?” I asked them, both of them looked surprised to see me standing there.
“Lilly…” started Jay, I raised my hand to cut him off.
“Save it, both of you, follow me.” I said, then pointed with my head to the side so we wouldn’t do anything stupid in public.
We made it to one of the empty conference rooms and there, all hell broke loose.
“What the actual living fuck did BOTH of you think you were doing earlier? Discussing patient care with each other. Especially one that wasn’t yours.” I asked them. Immediately both of them tried to defend themselves.
“He asked-” started Will.
“I just did what I was told-” Jay said louder.
“You know I’d never-” started Will again.
“You gotta understand-” Jay tried again to speak louder than Will, and honestly I had enough.
“ENOUGH!“ I exclaimed, making both my brothers shut up. “Sometimes it’s like I’m the eldest of the three, jeez.” I added, that made both of them look down in shame. “Look, you both screwed up. You by letting Severide getting you into all this.” I said pointing at Jay. “And you by answering the question he asked, without having the information to base your answer on.” I pointed at Will.
“I did point out several times that I wasn’t there when Herrmann was brought in.” Will said.
“That’s true.” Added Jay in Will’s defense.
“Look, that’s not the problem here. The problem is, Severide used you to get information he could’ve gotten from me if he had paid enough attention to what Herrmann said to me when I went to see him. And now Connor’s medical opinion is being questioned” I said.
“Sorry.” they both said at the same time.
“I’m not the one you should apologize to.” I said, they both looked at me. “Even if I do appreciate the apology… Connor’s the one you both need to apologize to.” I reminded them.
“As soon as I get the chance, I will.” said Jay, Will looked like he just swallowed a lemon.
“Will?” I asked.
“Fine. I’ll apologize to him.” he said.
“Still don’t get why you hate him.” I said.
“He’s just… he’s rich.” Will said, both Jay and I turned to him.
“Yeah, and?” Jay asked our older brother.
“You think he doesn’t understand the struggles you faced because he’s rich?” I asked.
“Yes! I mean, he has a trust fund, he had everything handed to him on a silver platter!” Will said, I wanted to slap him.
“Ok, I know we come from a blue-collar neighborhood, but Connor also struggled, in a different way than we did but-” Will cut me off.
“How can he know, his last name’s Rhodes!” he exclaimed.
“It’s because his last name’s Rhodes that he knows Will.” I said, the look I gave him must have been enough for him to understand he messed up. “As I said, you both apologize to him… and the sooner you do, the better.” and with that, I left the room.
I went to the nurses station to check on some records, when Dr. Charles approached me.
“Dr. Halstead.” he said, unfortunately I could see both my brothers looking at me through the window of the room I had just exited.
“Dr. Charles. How can I help you?” I asked.
“Dr. Manning’s patient…”
“Carol Shepperd? What about her?” I asked the psychiatrist.
“Your brother told me that, despite her best efforts, Dr. Manning hasn’t managed to get her to improve.” he said.
“Ok, if you want me to look over her file, I’ll need access to it. I don’t want this to look as if I’m trying to impose my way on her treatment.” I said to the man in front of me, he nodded.
“I’ll clear that with Dr. Manning when the time comes, right now, I need the best doctors to figure out what’s going on here.” he said.
“Thank you for the vote of confidence Dr. Charles. I also heard that you asked for the autopsy on Dr. Rhodes’s and my brother’s patient?” I asked him.
“Yeah, Dani Frank. We just want to make sure her case isn’t related to Dr. Choi’s patient.” he said I nodded.
“Ok, I’ll ask for some biomarkers and a mass spec on Mrs. Shepperd, just in case.” I said to the man, opening a new test order form on the computer screen.
“Thank you, Dr. Halstead. We’ll be in touch.” he said, I nodded.
Just hope this doesn’t come biting me in the ass later.
Introducing Connor's P.O.V!! Hope you liked it, I'm in process of writing next chapter, please have patience.
Love you all!

The Walking Dead Game What Ifs: What if The Stranger and his family joined the Motel Group?

What if The Stranger and his family joined the Motel Group?
Adam sat in the back of his dad’s car, Lizzie nervously watching as their parents argued.
“We’re doing fine on our own.” Argued their dad, Mitch.
“But for how much longer?” Demanded their mother, Tess, “We had a near miss with Adam going missing, I swear, it’s as if you’re trying to get us killed!”
“I’m trying to keep us alive!” Retorted Mitch, as a stick broke behind him. Whirling around, the parents found themselves staring at a group of people.
“Hey.” Waved a black man, looking sick and tired.
“Hello.” Greeted Mitch, glancing around the group, counting three women, two men, a teenager and two children, “Can I help you?”
“We’re, er,” the man looked around, “on our way back to our place.”
“You’ve got a place?” Asked Tess, throwing a quick glance at her husband, “We’ve been looking for a place to settle down.”
“Absolutely not.” Snapped a woman with long hair, disgust on her face, “We don’t have enough for ourselves, let alone you.”
“We’ve got supplies.” Said Tess, nervously looking at the woman, “And, Mitch is an experienced hunter.”
“I’m convinced.” Said the other man, white with a moustache.
The woman with long hair gave him a disgusted look.
“Sorry, if we seem on edge.” Apologised the first man, “I’m Lee, she’s Lilly,” her pointed at the disgusted looking woman, “Carley,” he pointed at a woman with a short bob, “Kenny,” the other man, “his wife, Katjaa,” a woman with dark blonde hair gave them a small wave, “their son, Du- Kenny Jr, we just call him Duck,” a boy around ten, who waved and smiled brightly, “Ben,” the teenager, “and, Clementine.” A girl with a baseball cap, who waved shyly.
“I’m Tess,” Tess gestured at Mitch, “My husband, Mitch, and our two kids, Adam and Elizabeth, are in the car.”
Lee gave them a nod, “Sorry, for intruding, we’ve just left a bunch of cannibals.”
Tess and Mitch glanced at each other, “R-really?”
“Yeah, we lost a couple of our people.” Grimaced Lee, “We left ‘em for the Walkers.”
Tess gave a hesitant nod, before noticing Kenny was bleeding, “You’re hurt.”
“Yeah,” Kenny glanced down, “one of the fuckers shot me.”
“Kenny!” Reprimanded Katjaa, frowning at him.
“Sorry.”
“If we get back to your place,” Tess looked around them, “I could take a look at it, I’m a doctor.”
“That could help us.” Carley murmured to Lee, “and it might help Clem and Duck to have some kids their own age around.”
Lee nodded, glancing at Mitch, before glancing at Clementine, “I don’t see a problem.”
“You wouldn’t.” Muttered Lilly, scowling.
“Ben, why don’t you run ahead and open the gates for them?” Suggested Lee, looking at Ben.
“I’ll go with him.” Said Carley, grabbing Ben’s shoulder and vanished into the night.
“I’ll drive ahead,” Sighed Mitch, before glancing at Clementine and Duck, “I can take them with me, if you’d like.”
Kenny and Lee glanced at each other, before the former nodded, “It’ll be safer than walking through the dark.”
Lee ushered the kids into the station wagon, with Clementine noticing that they had a radio. They watched the car drive off, leaving Tess with Lee, Kenny, Katjaa and Lilly.
“What happened at the cannibals?” Asked Tess, as they started walking.
“They fed some of us one guys legs.” Answered Lee, his mind going back to the meat locker, “Then, another one had a heart attack while we were in the meat locker.”
Tess thought she heard Lilly scoff, but ignored her, “They had a heart condition?”
“Yeah.”
“I’m surprised he survived this long.” Remarked Tess, “I had a patient with a heart condition, ignored everything I suggested to help alleviate it, so I had to prescribe him nitro-glycerin tablets. Ooh, you should’ve seen the shade of red his face went.”
“I doubt he had his head crushed.” Spat Lilly, glaring at Lee and Kenny.
“We had to stop him from turning.” Retorted Kenny, sounding tired, “How long would you have let it go on before putting him down?”
“He could’ve been saved.” Snarled Lilly, getting a sigh from Lee.
“Lilly, he turned.” Lee looked back at her, “I checked his eyes.”
Lilly trembled, before looking down. The group continued the rest of their journey in silence, with Katjaa glancing at Kenny.
P
Lee frowned, Mitch had taken Clementine’s radio, saying something about fixing it. Checking the rooms, he found Mitch frowning as he looked at the radio.
“You alright?” Mitch looked up at the sound of Lee’s voice.
“I’ve checked the insides of it, the batteries and the antenna,” Said Mitch, “I know this model, I’ve fixed it hundreds of times, and do you think I can get it to work?”
“Clem mentioned dropping while we were escaping the drug store.” Said Lee, making Mitch freeze.
“It was dropped?” Asked Mitch, getting up.
“Yeah, she said she dropped it.” Answered Lee, as Mitch suddenly struck it against the wall. Lee watched Mitch press the 'on' button, hearing the telltale click of it activating.
“Sorry, did you need something?” Asked Mitch, looking at Lee.
“Um, yeah,” Lee rubbed the back of his neck, “er, before all this went down, I, er, I was…”
“A convicted murderer?” Asked Mitch, “We know. Personally, I’m certain you would’ve been acquitted if it went to trial.”
“Doesn’t change the fact I kill him.” Answered Lee, “It’s just, with how things have been going, I thought people should know.”
Mitch nodded, “Have you told anyone else?”
“Most of the group, excluding Lilly and the kids,” Answered Lee, “Lilly probably already knows, and I told Clem, because she was with me when Carley confronted me about it, back when all this started.”
Mitch nodded, “I’ve heard Kenny talking about moving on. I’ve planned on going to Savannah, see if I could locate a boat.” Mitch gave Lee a piercing look, “Clementine mentioned that her parents were in Savannah.”
“Yeah.” Sighed Lee, knowing where Mitch was going.
“And, since you’ve not mentioned them,” Continued Mitch, “you know something Clementine doesn’t.”
Lee sighed, “The day I met her, the police car I was in crashed, I climbed her house’s fence to get away from some Walkers. I let myself into the house, after yelling that I was coming in, there were messages on the answering machine. Her mom said that her dad had been bit.”
“So, it’s safe to assume that she was bitten not long after.” Finished Mitch, crossing his arms, “Why haven’t you told her?”
“I don’t want to break the hope she has.” Shrugged Lee, looking lost.
“Lee,” Sighed Mitch, “sometimes it’s better to break someone’s hope, than for it to be broken and them to find out you knew the entire time.”
Lee sighed, running a hand down his face, “I’ll… I’ll talk to her about it.”
Mitch nodded, “I’m going to take some of the supplies, head to Savannah, and case the place. If Clementine’s parents are alive, I’ll find them and bring them here.” He looked at Lee, “If anything happens in the meantime, head there.”
Lee nodded, going back out to the others. A couple of hours later, after wishing him luck, the group watched Mitch drive away.
“I need you two to go on a supply run.” Said Lilly, getting Lee and Kenny’s attention.
The two men shared a glance, before nodding.
P
“Well, things went to shit real fast.” Said Lizzie, looking up at the adults.
“Thank god we had the foresight to stick the supplies in the RV.” said Kenny, as Tess checked everyone over.
“Lizzie,” Tess looked at her daughter, “why don’t you play with the others?”
Lizzie scowled, but stomped over to Duck, Clementine and Adam.
“Carley,” Tess got the other woman’s attention, “I need you to check Katjaa’s shoulder, it’s bleeding a bit too much for my liking.”
Glancing around, Tess sighed, “Ben, you need to apply more pressure, I don’t want Lee to bleed out because you were squeamish.”
Lee groaned as Ben pressed the balled-up fabric against his shoulder, “Of all the places to get shot, it had to be my good arm.”
“I’m more concerned about the bullet still being in there, Lilly, don’t stand, you’ve got a concussion,” Tess looked at the front, “Carley, how’s Katjaa’s shoulder?”
Carley was silent, before looking at Kenny. The man looked over and gawked, “Son of a bitch!”
The RV swerved, hitting a Walker, “Shit!”
“What is it?” Asked Lilly, as Tess made her way towards Katjaa.
“Oh, fuck.” Tess softly swore, seeing the bite on Katjaa’s shoulder, “Katjaa’s been bitten.”
The RV was silent, getting a sigh from Lilly, “So, what are we gonna do?” Part of Lilly wanted to find out who made the deal with the Bandits, but Tess had taken control as the doctor of the group.
Tess was silent, making Lee pipe up, “We’re gonna want to deal with that Walker Kenny hit.” The man groaned, “We can decide from there.”
“What if she turns?” Asked Lilly, “We all heard what Ben said, the bite kills, and we turn anyway.”
“I hate to say it,” Carley looked at Kenny, “but, it might help us if we know how long it actually takes.”
Kenny didn’t say a word, getting out of the RV and checking on the Walker. Lee groaned, getting up, taking the fabric from Ben and stumbled up to Carley, “Kenny!”
“Lizzie,” Tess looked at her daughter, “take the others to the end of the RV.”
Lizzie looked up at her, before doing as she was told. The group heard Kenny kill the Walker, before he re-entered the RV. The man growled, before hitting the steering wheel.
“What do we do?” Asked Lee, looking between the others.
“We’ve got a couple of guns.” Said Lilly, propping herself up, “So, we can put her down when she turns.”
Kenny remained silent.
“How do we tell the kids?” Asked Carley, glancing at the back, “I mean, none of them were presence when we lost Mark and Larry.”
“Clementine was.” Muttered Lilly, giving Lee a glare.
“He’s already started turning.” Sighed Lee, giving Lilly a tried look, “Kenny, we need your input with this.”
Kenny, again, remained silent.
“Kenny, why don’t you let Lilly or Lee take over driving?” Asked Ben, getting a glare from Tess, “What?”
“Lee’s got a fucked-up arm and Lilly’s got a concussion.” Said Tess, glaring at Ben.
“…sorry.” Muttered Ben, before Tess told Lee and Lilly to go and sit back down. Lee was vaguely aware of himself falling asleep, as Tess and Carley discussing their options at Kenny.
P
Lee groaned as the light hit him.
“Oh, you’re alive.” Said Lilly, getting a dull glare from Lee.
“Has anything happened?” Asked Lee, standing up.
“Well,” Lilly followed him, “Kenny’s refusing to talk about Katjaa, the kids don’t know what’s going on, Ben’s being useless, Carley’s keeping watch for Walkers and Tess is watching Katjaa. And, no, she hasn’t turned yet.”
Lee nodded, before shakily getting off the RV and stopping at the sight of the train.
“And there’s a train blocking the road.”
Lee sighed, before looking around, “Where are the kids?”
“Over there.” Lilly pointed at a tree, “Adam said he needed to shit.”
“His words or yours?”
“His.”
Lee nodded, walking towards the train, frowning as he spotted Ben crouching by the driver’s cabin, “You alright up there, Ben?”
“Not so loud!” Whispered Ben, “I think there’s a walker in there.”
Lee sighed, he had a feeling he was going to be sighing a lot, “Get back to the others.”
P
Tess sighed, Clementine’s radio was giving intermittent buzzes. After Lee sent Ben back to them, they were greeted by an old man. He gave his name as Chuck, saying he was living in the train. He’d introduced himself to the whole group, and Lee and Kenny got the train working and Lee found some food for the kids. So, here they were, on a train with Lilly guarding the supplies, Kenny driving the train, Ben watching the scenery go by and Lee and Carley teaching the kids how to defend themselves.
Tess heard the pop of a gunshot and the sound of a bottle shattering, looking up, she saw Clementine beaming up at Lee and Carley.
“I guess Clem’s got the ‘dead eye’ huh?” Tess gave them a small smile, before looking down at Katjaa, “She’s not progressing well.”
“You looked at Chuck as if you knew him.” Said Lilly, diverting Tess’s attention away from Katjaa.
Tess sighed, “He’s a doctor, his full name is Charles John Marston. I trained under him when I first started practicing.”
Katjaa let out a violent cough, making the group freeze.
“We have to stop the train.” Said Tess, looking at Lee, “I think we’ve reached the end.”
P
Lee sighed, they’d stopped the train and put Katjaa down. Part of him was disgusted at the phrase, put her down, like she was some dog or animal. Duck had closed off for a while, the boy hadn’t left the train when they were forced to stop. So, he didn’t meet Christa and Omid until they were getting away from the horde of the undead.
“Who’s he?” Asked Christa, looking down at Duck.
“He’s recently lost his mother.” Answered Tess, “She was bitten.”
“Ouch.” Grumbled Omid, as Chuck prodded his leg, “Couldn’t been a bit gentler?”
“Well,” Chuck looked at him, “I could, but we need to figure out what’s wrong with it first.”
“Oh, how I could do with an MRI or X-Ray machine right about now.” Moaned Tess, as she checked Omid’s foot.
Their conversation was interrupted by Lee quietly entering the compartment.
“What’s wrong?” Asked Lilly, straightening up.
“Mitch’s been in contact.” Said Lee, “He ran into another survivor, said her name was Molly, he…thinks he’s found Clementine’s parents.”
“That’s a good thing…right?” Christa eyed Lee suspiciously.
“They’re dead.” Said Lee, “He’s holed up in the Marsh House, he suggested we meet up with him there.”
Tess frowned but nodded. Hopefully thing wouldn’t go pear shaped.
P
“Are we there yet?” Whined Adam, as the group walked through the streets. They’d stuffed all their supplies into some rucksacks they found, with Lee and Kenny carrying the bulk of it.
“Almost.” Said Tess, looking at Lee, “It should be the next left.”
Lee nodded and they turned down at street. Lee paused at the sight of a blonde girl leaning against a wall watching a couple of restrained Walkers. He heard Clementine let out a terrified gasp, getting a deep sigh from Lee.
“Those are…” Carley looked at Lee.
“Clem’s parents.” Nodded Lee, before gently ushering the group forwards.
“You Mitch’s people?” Asked the girl, looking each of them over, “I’m Molly.”
“Lee.” He pointed at the others and introduced them.
Molly nodded, “Mitch is looking for a boat, said something about you guys wanting one.”
Lee nodded, before looking around, as Mitch’s car drove up to them, with a boat hitched to the back of it. Stopping, Mitch stepped out, “It’s got no gas and is missing it’s battery, but it should work.”
Lee nodded, as Kenny looked the boat over.
P
“Are you sure about this?” Asked Carley, as Lee looked over the group.
“We should be fine,” Said Lee, “Molly knows the place, so we can go through the place and avoid their patrols.”
Carley nodded, before looking over at Tess, Lilly, Chuck and the kids, “You sure about leaving me behind?”
“Car,” Chided Lee, softly, “what’s the worst that could happen?”
P
Lee was kicking himself. Crawford had fallen, so things were slightly easier for them. Clementine had followed them, with Ben only noticing when he saw her climbing up the ladder out of the sewer. They’d split up, Christa and Mitch went to get the drugs, Kenny had gone to get fuel, he and Molly went to get the battery and Clementine was watching over Ben in an old Geography classroom.
Then Kenny got back with the fuel and took over trying to get a door open, Lee helped Mitch and Christa get the drugs and they ran into Molly on the way back to the group, only to find Ben had removed a hatchet from a door that they were using to keep the Walkers out, which led to them bursting in and Clementine nailing a Walker wrestling with Molly in the head.
So, now they were holding a door shut, while Kenny tried to kick their escape plan open. Then Ben decided now was the best time to come clean about something.
“I was the one making the deal with the Bandits.”
Lee froze, just as the glass on the door broke and he felt a pain in his left arm. Assuming it was from the glass, Lee moved out of the way, as Mitch shoved a bunch of tables against the door.
Kenny, after taking the information in, turned and looked at Ben, “You…”
“Kenny,” Said Lee, “we can deal with him later, but right now, we gotta move.”
The group rushed to the top of the tower, with a horde of the dead chasing after them. Ben got caught by the reanimated remains of Crawford, with Lee pulling him free and getting bit on the hand. Deciding to deal with it later, Lee shoved Ben towards the ladder, “Climb down.” He growled.
P
“It hasn’t been long, maybe we could cut it off?” Suggested Tess, “Katjaa’s bite was on her shoulder, too close to the arteries to safely amputate, and, from the time of her bite, she lasted about a day before succumbing to it.”
“How’re we gonna stop the bleeding?” Asked Carley, “A tourniquet can only do so much.”
“Well, you could cauterise the wound.” Said Chuck, “We got the needed stuff for it.”
“Lee?” Lilly got his attention, “Are you willing to do this?”
Lee sighed, before looking at them, “Fuck it. Let’s cut it off.”
An hour later, Lee was kicking himself, why did he have to be an idiot and refuse the pain killers? It was odd, seeing his arm contort, even more so, when it fell to the floor and Mitch hurriedly pressed the bleeding stump against the heated metal of a pot that they’d stuck in a fire until it started to glow.
Then Lee saw darkness.
P
“Is…is Lee okay?” Asked Clementine, looking up at Carley.
Carley sighed, before sitting next to Clementine and pulled her to her, “Hopefully, Clem.”
“Well,” Tess and Chuck stepped out of the hotel room Lee was in, “The bleeding’s stopped, so we don’t have to worry about him bleeding to death.”
“And given the herd outside,” Kenny folded his arms, “We’re gonna be sat here for a while.”
“Which gives us the opportunity to decide what to do with him.” Lilly glared at Ben, “He stole from us and gave to those bandits.”
“Maybe he was under duress.” Remarked Carley, not really believing it.
“T-they said they had one of my friends.” Said Ben.
The group stared at him.
“Did, did you get confirmation?” Asked Tess, folding her arms.
“N-no—”
“My wife died because of you,” Snarled Kenny, “I don’t know why Lee bothered to save you, ‘cause your as useful as burnt-out truck!”
“And the shit he pulled back a Crawford,” Spat Mitch, “Letting all those Walkers in, almost killing Lee.”
Clementine buried her face in Carley’s shoulder, as Lilly looked over at the other woman, “You’re being surprisingly quiet.”
Carley sighed, levelling Ben with a look, “I defended you when Lilly was throwing accusations around in the RV. You could’ve owned up to it and we would’ve acting accordingly.”
The group was prevented from continuing by the door opening and Lee stumbling out.
“Lee!” Clementine rushed towards him and hugging him, getting a grunt from the man, “You’re okay!”
Lilly placed her hand on her pistol, as Carley stood up, “Lee?”
Her looked at her, “I know I shouldn’t ask this, but does anyone have any bourbon?”
P
The group watched the street outside the hotel. Mitch had gone to get the car, after Kenny and Christa managed to find an van that was still in working order.
“If we’re lucky,” Said Lilly, “the RV could be where we left it.”
“Hopefully.” Said Carley, as she helped Lee with the rucksack of supplies.
“He should be here by now.” Muttered Tess, nervously fiddling with her ring.
Lee frowned, looking for Mitch’s car, before grabbing the radio, “Kenny, are you near Mitch?”
“I saw him get in his car and start heading back.” Said Kenny, “He might be trying to avoid the Walkers.”
Lee frowned, before looking at Ben, “Ben, go check outside.”
“W-what?” Ben looked around, “W-why me?”
The group stared at him.
“You cannot be asking that.” Lee’s voice was flat, “If there are Walkers out there, just run back here.”
Ben nodded, before heading out of the lobby. Lee winced and looked at his stump, “Man, I can still feel my fingers.”
“Phantom limb syndrome.” Said Tess, “It’s common for amputees.”
“Still hurts.”
Ben reappeared outside the hotel, “I’ve seen Mitch’s car but…Mitch isn’t the one driving.”
Lee frowned, “What?”
“It’s some old guy and there are four others with him.” Said Ben, just as Mitch’s car sped past.
“Shit.” Swore Lee, as the car vanished around a corner, before Lee grabbed with radio, “Kenny, Mitch’s been carjacked.”
“Shit.” Said Kenny, “I see him. Fuck. Guys, I think he’s turned.”
“You serious?” Asked Lee, as Tess froze.
“That or he’s stumbling around with a bullet wound in his back.” Said Christa, before a thumping sound was heard on the radio, “No, he’s turned.”
“Shit.” Lee looked around the group, “Get back here.”
“Already on our way.” Said Christa, “Kenny’s putting Mitch down.”
Lee nodded, but he had a feeling something was off, “Christa, how’s Kenny coming along?”
Christa was silent, making Lee frown, a moment later, Christa pulled up in front of the hotel, without Kenny.
“Where’s Kenny?” Asked Lilly, frowning at her.
“He got swarmed.” Said Christa, “He dealt with Mitch, but, fuck. They came out of nowhere.”
Lee sighed, “There ain’t much we can do now.” He looked at the others, “Get in.”
P
They were lucky, extremely lucky. They found a car stocked with more supplies on the way back to the RV, and the RV was where they left it. Keys still in the ignition. Sighing, Lee looked over at the kids, Lizzie was curled up with her leg stuck out, Adam was sprawling on the floor and Duck and Clementine were slumped against each other, before looking at Carley. Lilly was driving the Van behind them, and Tess was in the car in front of them.
“You okay, Lee?” Carley glanced at him.
“Yeah,” Lee sighed, glancing back at the rest of their group in the back, “we will be.”

Meet the new writers of Season 2 | Doctor Who
January 27, 2025
The TARDIS is about to get a whole lot bigger!
Four writers have stepped on board the TARDIS for the upcoming series of Doctor Who, coming in 2025, joining Russell T Davies.

S2 Writers Clockwise from top left: Juno Dawson, Inua Ellams, Sharma Angel-Walfall, Pete McTighe
Russell T Davies, Showrunner says: “Doctor Who takes its talent from a glittering galaxy of names, and these extraordinary writers span the skies. We’ve got old hands, new stars, voices from theatre, radio and literature, the whole works! It’s the most wild and exciting season of Doctor Who yet, and I can’t wait to unleash their brilliant work.”
Meet the four writers joining Russell T Davies in Season 2….
Juno Dawson
Juno Dawson is a #1 Sunday Times best-selling novelist, screenwriter and journalist, whose books include the global bestsellers, This Book is Gay and Her Majesty’s Royal Coven. Dawson created the first official Doctor Who scripted podcast, Doctor Who: Redacted.
Juno says: “I started watching Doctor Who with my grandma when I was ten-years-old in the 1990s. From writing fan-fiction for an audience of one, to scripting the best TV show of all time is truly a dream come true. I can't wait for fans and newcomers to see the new season.”
Inua Ellams
Inua Ellams is a writer and curator, whose published books of poetry include Candy Coated Unicorns & Converse All Stars and The Actual. His first play, The 14th Tale, was awarded a Fringe First at the Edinburgh International Theatre Festival, and other plays include Barber Shop Chronicles, which played at the National Theatre, Three Sisters and The Half-God of Rainfall.
Inua says: “For as long as I can remember television, I've been a Doctor Who fan. I started watching when I was 10 in Nigeria. The show invited me to dream, to live beyond my reality. Getting to write for the show felt like touching God; it was blasphemously humbling and exciting, and I can’t wait to share my story with the world.”
Pete McTighe
Pete McTighe will already be known to fans as he wrote the Thirteenth Doctor episodes, Kerblam! and Praxeus (with Chris Chibnall), and is a writer and Executive Producer on the forthcoming spin-off The War Between The Land And The Sea. Pete says: “The TARDIS is my home away from home, so it's been a joy to step back inside, with Russell at the console and the incredible team at Bad Wolf hanging on for dear life. I love this show with all my heart and am really proud of what we've been able to achieve with my next episode.”
Sharma Angel-Walfall
Sharma Angel-Walfall originally hails from Manchester and won the inaugural Channel 4 New Writing Award that set her off on her screenwriting journey. She wrote an episode of Dreamland for Sky (starring Lilly Allen and Freema Agyeman) and has been in a number of writers’ rooms, including Supacell (Netflix), Renegade Nell (Disney+), A Town Called Malice (Sky) and Noughts & Crosses (BBC).

If only Lee and his group from Motorest were the ones who found Dr. Lingard and surely some would not be happy about his drug addiction but would try to help him because he is a doctor. And what would it look like for Jessie if she appeared in the world of Pat & Mat and what would she think of the two handymen? PS: Pat & Mat is a Czech show that is mainly about comedy, but the main characters don't speak, so everyone can watch it even abroad, even though it has a Czech name, it can be easily translated
They'd definitely try to help him, but I'm not sure there's a whole lot they could do except try to keep him away from the opioids that they have. People like Lilly and Larry would definitely want him kicked out as a liability to the group, and I get the feeling that Kenny is the kind of person who'd be very distrustful of anyone with a drug addiction, regardless of their other characteristics.
I feel like Jessie would mostly just be confused, especially if no one ever says anything. She'd probably think it's a really weird dream she's having and try to find a way to wake up.

So I was on the plane back and I took a chance on Late Night With The Devil. Now I watched it blind so I didn't know about the controversy and I'll have thoughts about that at the end. But the movie left me with some thoughts.
One the intro sets up the fact that this is clearly a retrospective and we as the audience are expected to know what happened after. Think the OJ trial level of sensationalism, which makes me believe the theory that Jack probably had trial live on the air. In the universe this is a well known case. The Gus scene with the worms raises some interesting questions about what the in universe live TV audience saw. Like the movie starts with a documentary feel and ends with what's clearly Wriggles/Abracadabra messing with Jack. Like did the documentary have a second half with like the aftermath and commentary? I would imagine so given the intro, so did the demon hijack what we saw? Was it just poor writing? I would love a follow up series of in-universe videos in different styles. Like maybe some YouTube coverage, what news casters were saying, etc. I do think that the ending should have called back to the documentary set up because I don't hate the intro as world building, but it would have worked better for me if they had a "come back for part two," "Stay tuned for our experts" or smth. As it stands it's easy to call lazy exposition.
The movie is clearly tackling a lot of the insidious nature of the show biz world both the TV/Movie side and the more respected but ultimately similar book world. Everyone in the movie is being exploited, and aside from Lilly, they willingly exploit others. They're all cogs in a machine they have no control over, but clearly have no desire to stop the machine, or are easy to push back into place. I think there's a reason we don't meet any of the characters that quit and it's because they're not the point. It's way more compelling to get Phil who clearly is just doing his job, but is also unwilling to stop and consider if maybe he should be doing it at all. The makeup lady(Sammy maybe?) who sees how fucked everything is and just jokes about it. All of the characters know on some level it's wrong to allow what's happening but none are willing to stand up alone or even with their peers.
It doesn't matter how much of a fraud Christou is either. Was he a medium with actual skills who compromised on his morals to get ahead? Was he a fraud from the start who was used as a toy to get attention by Wriggles? Does it matter where on the scale he falls? It all comes to the same place. And that's the tragedy of it. The adults all made the choice to sell themselves, but Lilly was groomed for the cult and then for June's ambitions. I won't pretend to know exactly what would have been best for her given demons are real in that universe and so regular therapy could have been more disastrous, but like... June being her doctor, weird demon wrangler, and guardian was fucked up.
I don't think Jack knew what his deal was, at least not fully, and he's definitely being yanked around. The only Maddie who is for sure not a demon is the clips from before her death. After I'm not willing to say it's her. It's either Wriggles pushing her spirit around or straight up impersonating her. While the ending death montage felt rushed I don't think that's necessary a con. We feel unbalanced just like Jack does. The whole sequence of him going through his past moments was good.
Also the Grove and satanic panic were well incorporated. Like as someone with passing awareness of the references, it still all read really easily, and I'm sure for those more familiar with what was being referenced there's a lot there.
Overall I think it needed a bit more.. finishing if that makes sense? Like it feels like one or two steps away from complete. And now I'm going to get into the AI(which I hate calling it so I'm going to call it what it is which is image generation nothing intelligent about the digital equivalent of tracing and copying) images and my thoughts. I didn't notice but that doesn't really say much given the guy in front of me on the plane kept shoving his seat into my knee and the lady on my right kept bitching at the poor attendant. I don't think they have any excuse for the images being in the final cut for a few reasons, 1) image generation programs had been called out for being trained on stolen art before it released fully and they could have gotten it replaced, and they chose not to and 2) they didn't even have the excuse of not knowing better because while the images could have been pre debates they weren't locked into a contract.
To the point of "Well don't disrespect all the work put in by the actual artist they're only there for like a combined 30 seconds" 1) I don't fucking care, 2) the disrespect to the actors and other real artists is the decision makers on the film not pulling the images. They are the ones saying the work is comparable and belongs in the same film, and 3) I don't fucking care how indie they are, either pay for the work or don't use it. If you can't afford to pay an artist to draw for you, then you don't get the art. Using a cheap program(that's cheap because it steals) to replace real workers(some of whom are the same artist being stolen from) is scummy. If you can't afford to pay for labor then you can't afford to be in business.
#late night with the devil#if i get any people trying to debate me on image generators then im just going to block you#you're not going to convince me not to stand up for other artists#just block me and move knowing ill do the same to you
