I think the remastered sets don't generally sell well is because the don't fit into any kind of meaningful niche.

It's essentially a re-release of an old Standard set, except it's not Standard legal. So outside of a few reprints (like Snapcaster Mage, Liliana of the Veil, Emrakul) there isn't much reason to buy this set.

If this was released and made Standard legal, it would 100% sell better. I was actually surprised this wasn't made the case at first.

Making a reprint set Standard-legal would greatly restrict the power level of the reprints we could include which seems to fight against the very essence of what a reprint set wants to be.

Liliana is really fucking rich talking about how the Ruby Vanguard are necessary cause "they will hunt us down" as though Ruidusborn haven't e on Exandria for all of recorded history before the Ruby Vanguard turned them into walking bombs.

"We'll be free" Are the Ruidusborn who are mind controlled into attacking their own friends and allies "free"? Will killing the gods "free" those Ruidusborn? You really think an empire built on mind control will let anyone live free once the only threat to their reign is gone? The bormodos are untouched by the gods under the veil of Predathos. Ask them how free they feel.

I wonder where Mr. Kytheon Iora (called Gideon, Gids, and BeefSlab by his friends!) is in the Beyond The Neon Veil universe. I hope he's doing alright.

Gideon is definitely a victim of not really having a place I could reasonably put him in the cast, and now the story is too far along to squeeze him in somewhere.

I imagine our boy Kytheon, who changed his name to Gideon early in his career, is an actor who mostly stars in action rolls, who really wants to branch out but never gets the opportunity. Does a lot of his own stunts, is a really nice guy who donates a lot to charity. He's dating Liliana Vess, who's probably a fellow actor who met him on the set of a movie they were both in- although she normally lends her talents to more artsy, indy projects. She gets asked about him a lot in interviews, and she just fucking dunks on him whenever he gets brought up. Meanwhile Gideon is just "I love my girlfriend, she's great :3 ♡". They've been together for years.

I imagine Liliana is still immortal in the Neon Veil-verse, and has been in a cycle of climbing up the celebrity ladder, faking her own death, hiding around for a few decades before reinventing herself and resurfacing again. She's gotten really good at this, but she also hasn't shared this little fact with Gideon at all.

Why do I collect stories? I’ll tell you.

Because stories, my friend, when collected and treasured, are constant companions. Stories live with me, I carry them within me, and they bring me life. They remind me of the truths, they show wisdom, and whisper to me strength and love from ages and universes elsewhere. When I am overwhelmed, with none to see beside me, I can remember.

I can remember that Kaladin learned what it meant to let someone save you. I remember Gideon Jura, on the back of yet another betrayal by Liliana, believed and knew in his heart that she would do the right thing and took the burden of her death on himself. I remember the Nameless Viking at Stamford Bridge, of our own world, who held the line alone against the entire Saxon army for a morning, saving his brothers from a humiliating ambush and crushing defeat. I remember Dalinar, who accepted the monster he was so he could grow into the wise leader and man he is. I remember V, who lost the only true friend she had in this world in Jackie, and continued on in spite of the grief, and in honor of his memory. I remember Laurentius of the Great Swamp, who loved and brought light to those around him even though he was sent to die on a fools errand. I remember Navani, who led her people in navigating a crushing defeat to leverage their safety and the eventual victory through her skills. I remember Simon, who came to believe in himself, and never let his Fighting Spirit die out.

I remember Talenelat, and Jesus. I remember Fleet, the Dog who would be a Dragon, and Heracles. I remember Aurelia, Shallan and Veil, and Vraska. I remember these and so many more. Those who learned, and grew, and stood in the face of their adversities and trials, never backing down, never giving up, and always keeping hope.

I remember, so that when my pathetic, small, failing heart weakly beats, and my hands shake with the effort, and my trembling legs scuff my heavy feet on the ground, I tell my heart just “one more time.” And it does.

If the chain veil was destroyed in WAR how come Onakke Javelineer's flavor text says "With the ways between worlds thrown open, the Chain Veil's foul magic seeped from a vault deep within Ravnica all the way to Shandalar's dormant masters."? This card was printed in MOM, referring to the openings created by worldbreaker during the phyrexian invasion.

Someone pointed out I forgot that in Forsaken it isn't actually destroyed, just disconnected from Liliana. I just forgot, it's been years since I had to worry about it.

I wrote that particular flavor text to put a cap on the Chain Veil, as while it still exists (damaged or not) the important thing is that the Onakke seem to be getting free. Now it's about the Onakke on Shandalar, if the story ever has time to get around to that.
