Be My First Be My Last Chapter 13
Chloe sighed, adjusting the sunglasses she was wearing. The school lights were hurting her eyes today, she had spent too long pouring over the details of Marinette’s case file.
It was mostly empty, full of dead ends and half plausible leads. No one could find her; it was like she disappeared.
Chloe would have felt awful about Marinette’s disappearance regardless of the circumstances, but it was even worse because she was there.
She had been there when they took them, she was there when they all woke up in an unknown location, she was there when Mari had impersonated Kagami.
She had been there when Mari had gambled her life away to save theirs.
And she couldn’t even help find her.
They had been knocked out before they had even reached the front door, only waking up underneath a bridge where the Couffaines spotted them from their houseboat.
They had no idea where they had been, if it were in Paris, France, or if they had still been on the same continent when they were taken.
She had never felt so useless.
Months had passed since Marinette had gone missing, months without the slightest hint at where she had gone.
Sabrina had told her that the police station was starting to consider her a lost cause. Well, she didn’t say lost cause but cold case held pretty much the same meaning.
The only reason she hadn’t been presumed dead yet was because of her and Kagami’s testimonies of what happened.
Officer Raincomprix figured that if they wanted her alive enough that she could save all three of the girls by threat of suicide, they wouldn’t hurt, or at least, they wouldn’t kill her.
It had been a small comfort, the only comfort that Marinette’s parents had been given really.
All they had was their belief that she was still alive, nothing more and nothing less.
Chloe looked up from her desk as Alya and Nino walked in, talking loudly about their plans for the day.
“Okay, you run home and grab your mixtape, I’ll get the videos and photos ready and we meet back here and combine the two. Think they’ll like it?” Alya asked, glancing up from her phone to her boyfriend.
Nino nodded, wrapping an arm around her.
“I’m sure they’ll appreciate it. We can’t find her, but maybe we can show the Dupain-Cheng’s that no one has forgotten about her, y’know?” Nino said, pressing a kiss to Alya’s cheek.
Chloe squinted at the two from behind her sunglasses, wondering what they were planning.
She was just about to go over to them when her least favorite classmate walked in, Lila.
“Hey guys! What are you talking about?” She asked, worming her way into their conversation. Chloe couldn’t help wrinkling her nose in disgust.
“Oh! Lila we’re putting together a collection of videos and pictures that everyone has of Marinette for her parents. Do you have anything you want to add?” Alya asked, turning to face the other girl excitedly.
Lila didn’t say anything, narrowing her eyes at the girl in front of her.
“Alya.” She said sharply. “Why would I have anything save of my bully?” She said with emphasis, her eyes flashing as she stared at Alya.
Alya hesitated, tripping over her words before narrowing her eyes as well, her green eyes shining defiantly.
“You’re so right, girl. Why on earth are we even doing this? I mean, yeah, I feel sorry for her parents and all, but you have to admit… Karma always has its way.” She finished, leaning in like she was sharing a joke with Lila.
Nino looked shocked, grabbing Alya’s and pulling her attention away from Lila.
“Alya!” He shouted. “I mean, I know you two hadn’t been on the best of terms before she disappeared but come on! She’s missing.” He insisted, shaking her arm like he was trying to wake her up.
Alya tugged her arm out of his grasp just as Lila rounded on him.
“No one is implying that she deserves any of this Nino,” She said with a honeyed tone. “It’s just that, I mean… I can’t really bring myself to miss her, y’know? Not after everything she did to me…” She finished shyly, glancing up at him.
Nino hesitated, taking off his glasses and rubbing his eyes. He cast a glance up at Chloe, his green eyes meeting hers before he looked back to Lila.
Chloe wasn’t sure what he said next, having stopped listening the moment their eyes met.
She wasn’t entirely sure about Alya, she hadn’t known her as long, but Chloe had known Nino for years. She could have sworn he had brown eyes, not green…
Chloe took off her sunglasses, staring intently at the three of them.
Alya’s eyes, which she could have sworn were green just a moment ago, were brown again. A glance at Nino showed the same results, their eyes were both back to brown.
Chloe shook her head, sure that she was just imagining things when another thought struck her.
How would she have even been able to tell what colour they were behind her sunglasses? They would have to be glowing for her to tell.
Biting her lip, Chloe raised her glasses again, not putting them on but only looking through one lens with her other eye closed.
Their eyes were still green, a glowing bright green that matched the colour of Lila’s eyes.
When Chloe opened her other eye, free of her sunglass’s lens, their eyes were normal.
Chloe quickly put her sunglasses back on, observing everyone that interacted with the three near the door.
Throughout the day, Chloe wrote down what she noticed in her notes app.
She couldn’t see any difference without her sunglasses.
The eyes always glowed green, regardless of the pervious eye colour.
Their eyes only glowed around Lila.
When their eyes started to glow they would immediately agree with whatever Lila was saying.
Chloe had a theory, but she needed to perform one final test before she shared her thoughts.

I hate it when I say how Gabriel's behaviour towards Lila this season made me hate him ten times more and someone says "yeah but Lila deserved it for how she treats others" it's not that. You don't get the point here. This isn't about what Lila did to Marinette or whoever nor how anyone feels about her personally. This was between Lila and Gabriel and how Gabriel treated her. She tried so hard to please him to get noticed, to mess up anyone he told her to mess up, to get akumatized when he wanted to, and he makes the most childish move ever cuz he is too much of a bitch to acknowledge her as someone important to be on the Diamonds' Dance - which she deserved fair and square not from other rich snobs but from him cuz she was his marionette for so long, and then when she was happy with the success she made (without trying to get back at him for what he did) he fires her and tells her she's nothing, humiliating her - and y'all say that Marinette trying to expose her is selfish and uncalled for well how about this? Lila is a bad person, a really really bad one, with many many mental issues as well and she definitely deserves karma but not from him. That's the whole point. He used her and threw her away. This proves what kind of a person he is. She respected him and he didn't respect her and then he has the nerve to say he belongs in the elite but she doesn't. He showed his true colours, just how fucking awful he is to people who gave him a lot. That's the point. I'm surprised no one shot him by now in this show.

SO THE KARMA AU EXPLANATION!!
TWS FOR MURDER, INSANITY, TORTURE, REALITY BENDING, ROYS UNCLE MENTIONS, ETC ETC
Tumblr media
Skids design typically tends to change depending where hes at or what hes doing, or at least his outfits tend to change, so I just sketched him in a regular shirt for this lmao.
But anyway, the main backstory is when Skid is around the age of 17, the cult emerges and begins to attack the town with Eyes. Skid is determined to stop them since he knows his dad is behind this however, so he goes into the house on the hill with Lila to face the cult himself. But right as he and Lila are sneaking up on them, the cult sees them and they all begin to fight. Skid sees one of the members approaching Lila with a blade though, so he stops them by running in between them both, but he gets stabbed in the process. The blade is stained with magical substances though, and rather than kill Skid, it just.. makes him dissapear right before their very eyes. The cult is caught right after fighting with a desperate Lila, but she's so confused by her own son vanishing without explanation that she has a whole breakdown that she never recovers from.
However.. when Skid got stabbed by the blade, it was basically like a mystical syringe that ended up injecting him with all kinds of powers, and since it was connected to Eyes in some way, Skid ended up being transported to the whole ass universe/galaxy. All at once, Skid was filled with the knowledge and secrets of the universe, a bunch of different god-like powers, and knowing the secrets of reality itself. This was so overwhelming for his mortal brain that it sent Skid crazy and caused him to go into a spiral like Pomnis from TADC. He also discovers he can travel to different timelines and alter them however he wishes.
The thing is though, when Skid goes crazy—he becomes a polite, manipulative, cunning boy who is able to act very easily and can fool others as he pleases. He can bend reality to whatever he wants. But what he mainly likes to do is give karma to those who deserve it, by slowly tormenting them with different things he alters about their reality or killing them if they deserve it—and he basically won't stop until they've learned their lesson. He also tends to give people things if they have something they want, but gives them consequences along with it.
Skid ends up mainly traveling to different versions of the canon spooky month tineline though, where he brings karma to people in his world or just people who hurt them in general. He nearly brings karma to Roy in one timeline since he remembers Roy bullying him, but finds out about his uncle and decides to help out Roy (who is bothered by both his parents and his uncle) in his own way byyyy.. brutally murdering Roy's uncle and then framing his parents for it. He brings karma to Moloch by trying to exorcise him, but deliberately going slow as a way of tormenting him. He lets Bob kill people in one timeline of TT, but he makes Jack murder him more brutally than last time, and then forces Bob to be immortal but paralyzed and in agony so he can feel the pain of his victims forever and ever—and feel every little thing done with his body (Skid also brings Streber in to torture him at some point).
Other things Skid can do is: Telekinesis, illusions, manipulation, reality bending, cloning himself, etc etc.

I don't know if it's just me but it feels like the writers deliberately thrown out Adrien's support system so he's become dependent on Marinette and Marinette alone and I don't think it's good for him.
I don't think it is ill-intentioned. I think it is more the writers team wanting to keep the story focused, but in S5 especially, it is truth there is a lack of narratives involving Adrien considering other aspects of his life other than his love life which is probably why you feel that way (and I'm pretty sure you aren't the only one).
It's not like during S4. The narrative during that season did "put aside" Chat Noir to better illustrate what Ladybug was doing to him and as viewers, we better understand his sentiment of feeling left out. And this lead him to get this interesting arc of questioning himself. Who is he inside Ladybug's team? Who is he as Adrien? What about his future? What does he want to do later? The scenes he got as so important and critical in his evolution during this arc of his.
In S5, it feels like Adrien is more out to figure how he can be a good boyfriend and setting an example for the young audience.
Not a bad thing by itself. Not to mention I don't often see male characters having this kind of narrative in fiction. That is when the characters do become an item before the end of the show/season and that we don't got that couple broke up the next following. We notably didn't have the chance to have this when Marinette and Adrien were respectively dating Luka and Kagami. Though I do like that Kagami, in her case, point out how envious she is that Adrien has now put up the work and fell back in love with him. For me, this is candy.
Anyway, relationship is work. From both sides. And I really like that Miraculous is giving it attention.
Though it is true that once Adrien starts officially dating Marinette, we don't see much scenes of him with Plagg, with Nino, with the other boys alone or any other character than doesn't revolved of him talking about Marinette. Even with Ladynoir interactions are very few now. (sorry, I am missing them).
Marinette has also a lot of focus on her love life as well this season again, but it is a least a bit more balanced with side stories. Like the miscommunication with Kagami during Perfection. Her trauma. The organization of the bal with ZoĂŠ during Adoration. Both ChloĂŠ and Lila causing her problems. Whatever is happening with FĂŠlix/Argos.
For Adrien, it was different at the beginning of the season. Especially with Evolution or even better Illusion in which we got that story involving how Adrien felt about his image used like that for Alliance, Gabriel trying now to be "involved" in his son's life, La RĂŠsistance.
Or in Passion, we got a bit of his relationship with Nathalie where he is reacting about the fact she is sick and don't know what he can do to help.
In Intuition, we do see Adrien gets a bit preoccupied by his father's health, but then Gabriel says to him that he is just overworked and wants to work less and be more present for his son, only for to answer his phone and leave the room with his father's permission. Like Karma right back at Gabriel, but at the same time, I hope this will go somewhere. There was an opportunity there even if Gabriel doesn't deserve it.
And we do get this scene in Pretension where Adrien goes to his room as ordered by his father but is paralyzed and cannot go back to support Marinette. Or have Adrien react with disgust at Gabriel after learning that he will move to London once the school year is over. Illustrating how Adrien is still at Gabriel's mercy, feels he is scared or furious at his father. But hey! At least, we have Adrien keeping out this thing about having to move to London a secret to Marinette for now.
So there is tension in the father and son, and I'm glad there is, but Marinette is the only catalyst when it isn't Nathalie backing up and protecting Adrien behind the scene. And on top of that, FĂŠlix decides to switch his attention to Kagami instead of Adrien and hasn't yet told him anything.
Like, please, have someone in this household tell this boy the freaking truth about what is going on so we can see him react a bit and contribute to move things out as well in the best of his abilities.
Anyway, despite this, with 7 episodes left to conclude the Agreste Arc. I'm still interested to see where this is going. And with Season 6 and 7, I'm curious to see what will be next.

Why do you find Chloe more redeemable than Adrien, Alya or the entire class?
Chloe? Redeemable? Lol yeah I legit cackled at this.
Let's be clear: As far as canon goes, Chloe, Lila, and Gabriel are the farthest things from redeemable. We already have the spoilers that karma is going to eventually come for them, so I am at peace knowing that they aren't actually being "redeemed". For them to be redeemed, they would actually need to acknowledge that they are so deeply in the wrong, they would need to be sorry and apologize for all they had done, and they would need to put forth the effort to prove it. The three of them? I'm not even going to bother trying to explain an hour-long rant as to why they have no redemption.
But that's for canon- for stories I in the future write with Chloe or Lila being good or redeemed, I'll make it clear that they either never went to the extreme lengths as they did in canon, or they weren't even shitty people to begin with. I don't really do redemption fics. Especially for these three.
As for Adrien, Alya, and the rest of the class; it depends.
For the most part, I've come to just about hate Adrien's character. The show has given him more plot armor then everyone else combined, he has shitty morals and acts and talks as if he is wisdom personified and he knows how people work when he's been sheltered and blocked from any/all social interactions his entire life. He's made out to be a perfect angel, whish I at first could ignore and roll my eyes at, but it's practically become canon now that he's kinda gaslighting and guilting Ladybug all the time, he's clingy and borderline obsessed to the point where he pretty much quits his hero-job, and he demands information from her about things that she constantly tells him she can't tell him about. Not to mention that he gaslights her in civilian clothes as well. The moment Adrien told Marinette to take the high road, I lost complete faith in him. If I ever write anything positive about Adrien, you can trust that it will ignore anything come the point of season 3(or even season 2).
As for Alya? I don't like her much. The girl is a friggin' hypocrite telling Marinette to gather proof, and then Nino is the one doing the investigative work in season 5(I only saw bits of the episode because none of this season makes any fucking sense), and then she learns that Marinette is Ladybug but still buys Lila's bullcrap?! It's like the writers of the show are just begging us to hate this girl. Not to mention, other then for that one moment she was Scarabella, it seems like her knowing Marinette is Ladybug was of absolutely no help whatsoever. Marinette is still stressed like crazy, and Alya is still high on her ego and not being as supportive as she thinks and makes Marinette believe she is.
As for the rest of the class- I have mixed feelings. I mean most of them knew Marinette growing up so there's at least a tight bond they share through history. And yet they only ever seem to care for her when she can do stuff for them? This is just unhealthy and I hate it. I moved around in my life so I don't really have childhood friends or whatever, but this seems wrong. People just standing by when she gets bullied, and turning on her in literal seconds because poor Lila said Marinette tried to stab out Max's eye out with a napkin- when he even wears glasses?! Canon wise the class doesn't really deserve a redemption, but I am fine with writing them as decent and okay people in my stories if I make it out as if they weren't so cruel and oblivious.
As far as redemptions go, I am very picky on who gets to have them, and I might have one fic that has a large and clear redemption to it, but it won't be anything you are expecting.
My opinion on redemptions: I hate them.

It should also be mention even back then in season 2, people already had somewhat of a bias towards Chloe being good.
Back then, a lot of details about season 2 were revealed before episodes were even released, including the fact that Chloe was going to be the Bee Hero, so even though a lot of the early episodes didn't really feature what I would call a 'nice Chloe', people liked the idea of Chloe becoming good. The fact that Lila Rossi was promised to become the de facto "main villain" of season 3 (a promise that ultimately didn't come to pass) also supported the idea, as people thought Lila would take over as Marinette's bully while Chloe would become a friend.
Ultimately though, even if Chloe was never "planned" to be an actual hero (at least according to Astruc), the fact was that Astruc ended up writing (or at least had a major hand in) the episodes that focused on Chloe and developed her further, resulting in her becoming more than just a "rich girl" caricature.
What we ended up getting, beyond the hero or villain stuff or her supposed role in the story, was a heavily flawed and troubled girl who lacked a loving childhood and was subject to a very toxic family dynamic. It doesn't invalidate her actions in previous seasons or makes her instantly forgiven, but it does give a lot of context for why she acts and thinks the way that she does, so the writers doubling down on her being a bully or making her be the butt of some karmic force just seems less deserved and more like tormenting a fictional character, especially when said character then lashes out on her classmates or teacher in retribution, the latter of whom she previously had an episode dedicated to apologizing to.
Its ironic in that if any other of Marinette's classmate was placed into Chloe's dynamic with her family, the show would probably have an episode dedicated to rescuing them out of said family so that they could have a happy ending. It's also ironic that in many ways, Chloe has many parallels to Marinette herself in a dark mirror sort of way, especially when the writers used this reasoning as a justification for why Gabriel is 'flawed' rather than supposedly irredeemable.
However, because Chloe is supposed to be the 'bully' of the show, both her family issues and the subsequent lack of love she goes through is met by the show, its characters, and even the writers, with apathy, mockery, and even disdain. Marinette attempts to push Chloe to reconcile with the same mother who abandoned her because they are 'both mean', while her 'childhood friend' Adrien only makes one genuine appearance to tell her to be nice to other people, before then going back to hang out with Nino and leaving her behind again.
By the end of the latest season, her only supposed 'friend' and even her actual family have cut her out of their lives for good, to the point when her own biological father, who likely played a large role in her upbringing, decided to just wash her off and replace her with a child that isn't even his, taking no responsibility for how she has grown and developed. Even if Chloe deserved punishment for her role in bullying Marinette and messing with the lives of her classmates, the means by which it was done is both needlessly cruel and provides no genuine opportunity for Chloe comprehend what she has done to others, so it doesn't come across as a final karma where Chloe learns her less, but rather just a needless moment in which everything she has gone through in her life is brutally repeated, on the same level of trauma as Chat Blanc if I'm being honest.
It's pure irony in that, if Astruc didn't make Chloe such a focus and just left her 1 dimensional, her being a bully would probably have not caused so much controversy. But inadvertently creating a subtly troubled character only to then push down on her trauma buttons without a care in the world just makes Astruc look petty as a writer... and also gives Chloe another similarity to Marinette (in that they both suffer needlessly)
I think I finally figured out why Thomas wrote Chloe the way he did. Looking back on his earlier works like Totally Spies and Code Lyoko, I noticed that he always had a pattern of writing bullies as the worst possible people. Totally Spies was especially big in his resume, so Mandy Dumas could actually a prototype Chloe. As for Lyoko, most of his episodes actually depict Sissi at her worst. Funnily, he wasn't involved with the series when the writers changed Sissi up to be less cruel. (1/2)
Tumblr media
To be fair, Astruc was more involved with the storyboards of those shows, not really the writing, but I can still see how he was influenced by Sissi and Mandy when writing Chloe initially.
While he could have been coaxed into making her nicer for Seasons 2 and 3, he still failed to see what people saw in her as a character, and thought by reverting her back to the old bully like Sissi and Mandy were in their respective shows, people would enjoy Chloe as a bully again. Instead, he failed to really understand how much time this would waste, how many viewers were disappointed, and how many people were surprised by him willing to die on this hill.

"Lila?" Adrien was happily greeting the photographer for waiting for him when he saw a familiar silhouette. Too familiar in fact.
"Do you know each other? Oh myyyyyy your papa's new muse is incredible! She's been all around the world, she knows all the celebrities and she's Italian, like me." The photographer pulled Adrien into a tight side hug, before enthusiastically raving about the achievements of the seated young girl, not that those achievements were real, anyhow.
Then Liela- I mean, excuse my language- Lila said something, but Adrien didn't register any of it. He was livid, furious! He was so infuriated that he could probably catch Hawkmoth's attention, but that could be dealt with later. He had more important matters at hand than some butterfly man desperate for some jewellery.
She knew that he knew of her untruthful ways, yet she still wormed her way into having a photoshoot with him, after all she's done? Those worms don't deserve to be associated with her either, neither do rats or any animal really. Adrien put on his best model smile, turning to the photographer. (sorry i didn't know how to spell his name oof)
"Would you mind leaving us alone for a second?"
"Sure!"
Adrien caught the flash of surprise on Lila's face, before it disappeared into a sickening faux sweet smile with fluttering lashes, before turning towards the Seine. Those eye flutters won't work on me Lila, I've seen through it all. Only one person is able to do that to me with a positive response.
He walked to the other available chair with purpose, gears in his mind churning, thinking of how he can go about this. However, he caught Nathalie watching over them from the corner of his eye, and knew that this conversation was to take place somewhere more private; somewhere away from the prying ears of his father's assistant.
"Actually, I think we should take a little walk around while we chat. I could use a little warm up before the shoot begins. Shall we?"
Lila buoyantly agreed, making quick work to rise from her seat, eager to please him. They strolled to a bench by the Seine, away from the roads which didn't allow any cars to follow them, let alone a certain one. And Adrien's sure that Nathalie would be smart enough to remain in the vehicle so as to not seem suspicious. Ha! I've already known anyway. He geastured to Lila to have a seat, sitting down himself. Sight remaining on the water before him, he began.
"I've warned you once already Lila, but you didn't listen. You've hurt Marinette and that's not okay." Straight to the point.
As expected, the cunning liar quickly scrambled to defend herself, and from his peripheral vision, he could see her feigning hurt. "Me? Hurting Marinette? But she's the one who-"
"I don't know how to prove you lied Lila, because you're good at it. And didn't we already established that I am very well aware of your lies? So you can stop pretending, because I know you're not the victim in this, not in any way." Actually she wasn't good, but Adrien wanted to give her something to be proud of. But if anything she should be ashamed of it.
"I-" Whether it was to continue playing the damsel or to finally drop the act and state her piece, Adrien didn't allow her to but cutting her off yet again. He was done with her dramatics.
"Marinette is my girlfriend Lila, I'm sure you of all people should know from all the snooping around that you did on behalf of my father. I love her very much, and this means that if she is hurt, whoever or whatever hurt her will regret doing so.
"I've been giving you so many chances, Lila, I really did. I wanted to believe there was some good in you, that you would eventually learn your lesson and change for the better. But I realised I was wrong, and look where that got us."
Lila was caught off guard by Adrien's knowledge of her attempts to spy on him, and even more so when he suddenly turned towards her, pure resentment clear in his features. It was a miracle that Hawkmoth hadn't sent out one of his butterflies yet. The emotion could be felt from a mile away. For once, Lila felt true fear, her face paling and hands shaking, completely betraying her act, much to Adrien's satisfaction.
"You've hurt my princess, and I'm not going to stand for that. I'm giving you one. Last. Chance, Lila. Admit to your lies to everyone, make sure that Marinette is no longer expelled. Face the music of your actions, no matter how loud and jarring it is. You are to show the world who Lila Rossi truely is."
Lila gulped, no longer having the upper hand and feeling as if she might pee her pants, literally. She had never heard his voice so low, never seen his eyes filled eith such fury. But she dared to challenge him, stubborn as she was.
"B-but... What if I d-don't...?"
"Then you will be exposed either way. Spin as many lies and excuses as you like, but there's no running away. I know much more than you think, Lila, and I'm not afraid to make use of what I know and possess. You better know what you will be walking into."
Oh, it was no empty threat. Adrien had accumulated enough over the time since Lila returned to school. Like the fact that she threatened Marinette in the bathroom, or the recording of how Lila delved into his things and harassed him back in his room, all safely stored in his extra phone that no one knows about. Not even his princess. He abruptly stood up and walked in the direction of the crew.
"A-Adrien? Where are you going?" He whirled back to face her, and his innocent sunshine look was back on.
"I'm telling them I'm not doing this or any shoots with you. As you've been invading my personal space and I'm feeling really uncomfortable with having you near me. You'll comply with my request, won't you?Because you're such a concerned friend who would do anything to make up for what you've done wrong..." A quick shift to the same glare from earlier.
"Because we're friends, aren't we?"
And as he walked away, Lila decided that she will still take the risk and believe that Adrien was only barking and no biting will be done. Tomorrow she will resume standing her ground and see what he really has to go against her. Curiousity killed the cat after all. But deep down in her heart, in the back of her mind, she knew her reputation will perish before her very eyes before she even knew it; no matter how much she tried to ignore that thought.

Graveyard Siblings (2)
Alright, Here is the addition to the first post I made about Marinette having a somewhat of a similar backstory to Jason.
[Masterlist]
WARNING: the Revenge part have some suicide, death, physical abuse and bullying stuff mentioned. Extreme Lila Bashing.
--------
Marinette runs a business called Afterlife (I am bad with names, gimme a break) with Wayne Enterprise as a partnership. She is the mysterious designer MT.
Jagged knows about Marinette and the whole LB thing after one scare and an explanation and promotes it a lot.
The Waynes can’t believe that she knew Jagged Stone.
So Afterlife brand is taking off and is the hottest new thing since Jagged is wearing it and MT is apparently the mysterious newly adopted Wayne who hasn’t appeared in public much and the family’s personal designer.
Loads of Celebrity commissions.
Gabriel loses sales as the new line they launched ‘coincided’ with the launch of Afterlife’s newest fashion line called Karma.
I should mention that Edna Mode(?) and Audrey Bourgeois gave many praises to MT because they are amazing designs and to spite Gabriel a little bit.
Gabriel doesn’t panic yet. A lie
I haven’t talked about Lila much, have I? Let’s just say she got a visit from a ghost, well, several ghosts.
Remember that guy Marinette mentioned that could get her fake documents. It was John Costantine, who owes her a favor ( he owes her more than a few and he would do anything she asked for her brownies. )
Tim and Babs dig up dirt on Lila Rossi and their silence was brought with a delicious cake.(coffee flavored for Tim)
Gets John to do a little summoning for her.
------
(Suicide implied, death, bullying, You have been warned)
“~Lila~. ~Oh Lila~”
Lila turned to her other side, wishing the voice would shut up.
“Oh, Lie-la, sleeping so peacefully. So silent. I wish you would stay that way forever.” The voice said menacingly.
Lila’s eyes snapped wide open to come face-to-face with supposed to be dead Marinette Dupain-Cheng with a manic look. Did Marinette had red eyes before?
Lila screamed.
“Oh, it’s no use. No one will hear you. Remember when you said those words. To poor Bianca. Every day at lunch break in the old unused bathrooms when you beat her up for not doing as you say.”
A girl with long dark hair appeared. Covered in black and blue bruises. Looking at Lila with hate.
“Let’s not forget. Poor Tommy. Alex. Andrea. Wil. Gary. Nico. Freya. Magnus. Della…” As Marinette listed off names, more and more teens appeared, the youngest being a 10 year old girl.
They all had the same expression as Bianca. Utter hatred.
“And there is me. The latest in your long line of victims. Lie-la, how do you feel right now, looking at the casualties of your greed for fame and fortune? Your ‘enemies’. And you know that English saying, ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend’.” Marinette gave a sinister laugh.
“You are dead. You were all supposed to be dead. This isn't real. This isn’t real.” Lila chanted, closing her eyes and covering her ears.
She felt cold fingers lifting up her face to meet red eyes, promising many Bad things.
“Sorry, sweetie. This is the cold harsh reality. You thought that you could get away with it. The deaths you caused with your filthy lies and ‘so-call accidents’. You danced on our ashes and you built your kingdom with our blood on your hands. I hoped you enjoyed it while it lasted. ”
The nails dug further into her face, drawing some blood and sure to leave some scars.
“Because, Lila Rossi, this is the last time you would know peace. And could you pass on a message to the Agrestes for me. Tell them that Death cannot hold back the wrath of Ladybug.” Turning to the other ghosts. “Get her.”
Marinette stepped back as the other teens pounced on her. Scratching, pulling, biting. Inflicting pain on Lila. She jumped out the window and landed next to John smoking.
“Thanks for everything. Will she be okay?” Lila’s screams can’t be heard due to a soundproof charm.
“She will wake up in the morning, a little sore thinking it was all a nightmare.”
“That is until she looks into a mirror. I left a little something to remind her that it actually happened. By the way, can you help me with this curse?” She said, pulling out a notebook.
“Let me see. Hmm.. Oh.. that’s a good one. Nice. Wow...You are very creative with curses, remind me to never get on your bad side. But are you sure about that last part?”
“Lila needs a lesson and as much as I hate her and wants her to suffer for the rest of eternity. She doesn’t deserve being tormented for the rest of her life. At least, she should learn that actions have consequences, especially for everything she had done so far.”
“You are too kind despite everything that has happened, Pigtails.”
“Doesn’t mean I am going to give you the resurrection spell I used.”
“You are no fun. You are as bad as Bats.”
--------
Lila’s curse is that she sees her victims when she leasts expects it. Alya, talking about her blog, is replaced with Bianca cracking her knuckles and about to punch Lila. In everyone else, it looked Lila screamed ‘Please don’t hurt me” to a confused Alya.
Lies some more to save face but the more she lies, the more the ghosts keep appearing. Some actually hurt her but there are no bruises or cuts to prove that it happened.
She is just so jumpy all the time and during photoshoots, Adrien gets replaced with a rotting corpse and every picture comes out with fear in her eyes.
Gabriel fires her after a million complaints.
Not before relaying Marinette’s message. “She cursed me. She came into my room and did this to me (pointing to the scars on her face.) She sent my dead classmates after me.”
“Who?”
“Ladybug. She told me to tell you that even Death cannot stop Ladybug’s wrath. So better watch your back, M. Agreste.”
(Gabriel didn’t feel threaten not at all. There is no such thing as ghosts. Sure magic is real with the Kwamis and the Miraculouses as proof. But ghosts? Those are just stories. Lila Rossi just had a nightmare that was too vivid for her. He definitely is not searching Google for warding them off. Especially revenge-seeking ones. He was just looking for inspiration. That MT caused a lot of trouble and sleepless nights for Gabriel but this next line was sure to be a success.) He was wrong.
No matter how many NDAs he made people signed and how much security measures he took. Afterlife seems to hosts fashion shows, launch new lines or their designs made the cover of a famous fashion magazine and SHOWING UP the GABRIEL brand EVERY! SINGLE! TIME!
Gabriel is rarely in the headlines these days and most of the billboards in Paris is filled with products from Afterlife (Chloe as a model with a mask to conceal her identity which adds to a mystery.) or WE.
He is super frustrated and a little desperate.
------
Got any ideas for revenge on Gabriel, Natalie and Adrien? Also the rest of the class?

Life of a Hero Chapter 2
The whole world was black and white, Marinette unable to see anything through the colors. Damian was safe, he was okay, the driver missed him, but it didn't change the fact that he almost died because of them. She knew damn good and well that that little bugiarda almost killed an eight year old child on purpose just to get to her.
She slowly lowered herself to the ground, the adrenaline making her legs shake, the shaking getting worse when Alya started in on her, her voice decidedly panicked, "You know Lila didn't mean it, right, gurl? She'd never put a child in danger like that on purpose, she just tripped!" Marinette's vision cleared just enough to see Alya patting a sobbing Lila on the back and Damian standing in front of herself, his voice harder and harder to understand. Why did she need to calm down? What was the point in going the way she'd been going if it nearly got her cousin brother killed? What was the point in being a hero?
She could barely feel Damain holding onto her hand, both of them becoming distracted by the sudden force from an akuma entering her jacket, Papillon speaking into both her and Damian's minds.
"Dear Princess of Justice and her little Heir of Wrath, are you finally willing to accept my offer to be a living karma? To avenge your little sibling for the attempted murder and to defend your sister from disloyal friends? You already know what I want." The butterfly miraculous user cooed in their ears, increasing the temptation to accept his offer.
Marinette gritted her teeth, thinking of all the times she was Ladybug, defender of justice and yet defenseless herself. She thought of Damian, who's only crime had been walking with her. She thought of Lila and Adrien working together, of Alya leaping to their defenses no matter what they did or what the evidence said. Of her classmates either ignoring everything or actively taking Lila's side. Of Chat Noir leaving her to fight alone. Of Damian stealing a miraculous from the box because she was losing and there was no one to save her. She opened her eyes and saw the way Damian's eyes were furrowed in an effort to fight Papillon off and thought of the pain it had to be causing him. Even if she didn't do it for herself, he didn't deserve to suffer the pain of her emotions.
"Fine," she bit out, "I'll play your game. Just stop hurting him!" Her voice rose into a screech even as purple magic flowed over the both of them. Lila and Alya both stumbled back from the transformation, shocked by how different it was from usual. Instead of purple and black bubbles rushing down the akumatized person(s), Marinette and Damian had a soft purple light wash down them. Alya's eyes bugged out. She'd seen the akuma fly to them, so obviously they were akumatized, but the light was reminiscent of a miraculous transformation… Was… was Marinette Ladybug?! Alya barely had time to pull her phone out, Lila, in a rare case of showing common sense, grabbed her and booked it away from them.
"Lila! I need this for my blog! This can be big!" Alya shrieked.
Lila continued to drag the blogger forward before stopping several blocks away from the akuma, fumbling with the key to let her into her apartment. "Look, Alya," the Italian snapped, "I don't know how much you know about your little ex-friend, but she has the potential to be the most devastating akuma yet. I don't know who she and the kid with her will come out as, but I want nothing to do with it, especially since we will be their targets."
Alya gaped at her friend. "Why would we be targets! You didn't mean to push that kid! She knows that!"
Lila glared at the Cajun. "Yes, this is a time where it was an accident, but she's not going to believe that, especially since we're why the two of them got akumatized. Did you hear what she screamed before they transformed? They were both resisting and she said stop hurting him. That means the reason they're like this is because she doesn't want the kid hurt. We hurt the kid- I tripped and you defended me instead of helping her. You yourself have been bullying her for months. I figure they'll both be after you."
Alya stuck her hand on her hip, "Why do you keep referring to that boy as kid when you said Mari called him a him?"
Lila growled. "Look, I have my flaws, but that kid was wearing a skirt when the light faded. I don't know what their pronouns are. Maybe they're a boy, maybe a girl, maybe both, I don't know! What I do know is that we're in danger, now get in the cazzo apartment!"
Alya gaped at Lila and refused to move. "No! I want to know what's gotten int-" she was abruptly cut off when Lila grabbed her by the front of her shirt and yanked her forward.
"You have five seconds to get in here or I'm locking you out." The Italian hissed.
Alya scowled at Lila before pushing her away. "Fine! Hide in your apartment like the coward you are!" She spat, paying no mind to the deadbolt clicking as she ran back the way the akuma was. If she was right her blog was about to become huge!
~~~
Princess spent her first few minutes simply wrapped around Heir, rocking back and forth. People backed away slowly, not going near the strange akuma. This was the first time they'd seen a purple light envelope a victim, not to mention the butterflies.
"'Ukht." Heir breathed after the streets were clear. "We must move."
Princess nodded into Heir's shoulder. "We will find him first. The others can be dealt with later."
The pair stood, slowly making their way forwards, hardly noticing the butterflies around them fluttering off. People who had done good had good done back to them- so be it being healed, finding extra money to tide them over, or just having someone extend a hand to them. People who had done wrong found themselves facing bad luck, tripping over nothing, spilling their drink on themselves, everything short of death happened.
They were amazed that no one had ever thought to go to Papillon before. Were people truly that consumed by their revenge? That they would make no effort to help the heroes and cut off the villain at his source? The pull of the butterfly was strong, leading them across Paris. The only interruption came in the form of Chat Noir which, admittedly, did not last, the black cat's punishment being suffering from illusions- led on a chase through the city by his "partner" before suffering though the image of her rejecting him and taking his miraculous away- something that would be happening very soon regardless.
The Royals didn't hesitate in entering the mansion, foggy memories leaving them unsure of where exactly they were, though it didn't take long to figure out the secret code to enter the atrium Papillon hid in. The shocked expression Papillon held was glorious though their revelry didn't last long as he withdrew his Akuma from them. Marinette and Damian collapsed to the floor, the damage of their akumization being permanent since it was all mental, even as the magic faded and Papillon's transformation dropped.
Marinette struggled to compute what was going on for several minutes. This couldn't be true. No. Not Gabriel. She shook her head viciously but nothing changed. Her voice was hoarse when she finally spoke, "Why?"
Gabriel looked away. "Because, Ladybug, I need to save my wife. My son is… not the same without her. Felix isn't doing well. And we're under threat from Amilie. I need my wife to fix things, even if I need to trade myself for her."
Marinette bowed her head. "How about a deal? I try to find a way to heal her and you stop attacking Paris."
Gabriel cocked an eyebrow, "Or I keep going as I was and don't reveal your identity in return for efforts to find a cure. If I get the miraculi, then I make my wish. If you find the cure, I willingly give up both miraculi in my possession as well as the grimoire. If you don't, well as long as you look I'll keep your identity to myself. You have no proof I'm a villain and publicly stated I wasn't."
Marinette mumbled under her breath, "Stupid Chat and his fucking insistence."
Damian finally spoke himself, "Fucking?"
Marinette flushed bright red and squeaked, "Don't repeat that! It's a bad word that you should only use when really insulted!"
Gabriel blinked at the small child his arch nemesis had with her. "You must be the one that envisioned running me through with a sword and refused to give your pronouns."
Damian glared at the butterfly man. "Of course. You threatened my 'ukht."
"Damian! Eama said not to do that!" Marinette scolded him.
"Monsieur Butterfly Man," Damian purposely butchered his name, "could you kindly take a step outside Parisian city limits?"
Gabriel's eyes bugged out, he was sure giving in to this child would be a death sentence. "I have no business outside of Paris," Gabriel hoped he hid the way his voice shook well enough.
The child's response was simple, "Shame. Perhaps later, then."
Marinette glared at her brother before turning to Gabriel. "Fine. But you will limit the amount of akumas you make and answer to the school yourself about why I'm struggling." Gabriel glared at the child but agreed. He was sure he'd be forced into it anyways.
Akuma picture! This took hours!!!
Silencer and Oni-Chan.
Oni-Chan: 65/98
I think this episode gets a lot of Flack that it doesnt deserve. It has a lot of good character moments, it shows how dangerous Lila can be. It shows that Kagami can CUT A TREE IN HALF WITH A BAMBOO SWORD. It introduces the fireman. Adrien sets a solid boundary with Lila. Though it does have some annoying bits
Silencer: 78/98
I honestly wanted to put this episode higher, but I couldnt.
This episode is okay. Like objectively speaking. Its not bad, no problems with the plot, it has some good ladynoir banter, Silencer is a decent akuma, Bob Roth is a special unlikable that gets his karma. It has good check marks.
The problem is the Luka and Marinette interactions. Full disclosure, Luka//nette is not appealing to me. Its not a bad ship, but the fandom sort of ruined any possible enjoyment I could get from a romantic aspect of the ship. (Platonically I am fine with them). But I will not be judging this episode on negative fandom interactions.
Like im fine with adrien not being in an episode, and Marinette can have crushes on other people, totally cool. But... I am sorry I just cant see how Any of Luka's lines in this arent CRINGE. Also it felt like Marinette was acting with Luka the same way she acted with Adrien and it didnt feel realistic compared to how she acts with Luka in other episodes. Like some people hype this up as super romantic, but I dont see it. If you ship luka//nette, great for you and i am happy and I am sure you got a lot from this episode, but I couldnt take it seriously. The show (especially the english dub) tries to make it believable but I dont get it. I also think Tikki is lying through her teeth or she had chosen with really s*** luck in love. Luka as the akuma was cool tho. He and Chat noir's fight was great. But if I wanted Silencer done better, I would just watch Truth.
Miraculous/Just Add Magic Crossover Idea
I was a big fan of the Just Add Magic show when it first came out. A show about a trio of friends that discover a book filled with magical recipes that require rather enchanting ingredients to make even normal food turn magical. And since Marinette lives in a bakery, who better to get the book.
The idea is that Marinette and her family have been living in the bakery with the house above it for years. But the day before the first day of school happens, Marinette accidentally discovers a small door behind the paint in her room when she pushed a chair in her room against the wall a little too hard. It uncovered the door a little and behind the door was just a little shelf with the magical recipe book inside along with perfectly preserved herb and spice seeds.
Marinette obviously does not know about magic yet, so she just shrugs and decides to keep the book and seeds. She finds them both interesting even if she has no idea why some of the herbs and spices have weird names like Cedronian and Livonian in front of them.
The first day of school goes off as normal as it usually does. Chloe is still a bullying brat, Kim and Alix are still very competitive with one another, Ivan is still shy about his crush on Mylene. The only difference is the addition of the two new students, Alya and Adrien. Adrien still does not make a good first impression on her because of Chloe and the gum incident, but the umbrella scene will always be adorable.
It is after Hawkmoth first appears and Stoneheart is first taken care of does Marinette find out more about the recipe book and seeds that she had found in the secret shelf in her room.
Tikki explained to her that the book was one of her favorite magical creations. It was not the Miraculous Spellbook, but it was a book filled with enchanting recipes that have amazing effects for those that eat or drink the edible creations when they contain the magical spices and herbs. So, with the permission of her parents, Marinette follows Tikki’s instructions and plants all of the seeds. And magically, the plants grow almost overnight.
It was soon after that Marinette started using the magical ingredients that Tikki explained more about the book and how it worked. There needed to be three protectors of the book. Especially after the disaster of a brother and sister pair trying to keep the book forever and the sister ended up trapped inside the book until three other protectors were able to free her. So, Marinette ended up learning that Adrien and Nathaniel were the other two protectors when they both discovered the book on their own when they each came to visit her. The book had brought all of them together.
Between the magic of the book and the added magic of the miraculous, the trio also became a hero trio as well as the protectors. Only this time they were all aware of each other’s identities. Marinette was even able to convince Master Fu to allow Nathaniel to keep the fox miraculous full time, allowing him to become Vulpix.
The three try to use the book in order to help them locate Hawkmoth as well as give them an aid during tough akuma battles. Only it seemed that because of the powerful glamour miraculous holders get when they transform, it messes with the magic of the recipes and only allows clues into Hawkmoth’s identity instead of actually locating him.
The trio try recipes like Lost And Found-u to try and locate the lost butterfly and peacock miraculous. They find tons of lost things other than the magically protected jewelry. They try the P.O.V. Popcorn, but only end up seeing black when they try to look through Hawkmoth’s eyes. And the Solve the Clues-Cous only helps hem gather more clues to his identity instead of actually helping them figure the clues out.
But there were some recipes they made just in case they helped deal with akumas. Like the Raise the Wall Roasted Tomatoes kept the akuma in one place until the fight was over. And the Big Mussels and Spinach gave the three a big boost to their strength.
The only ones that the trio tell about the book are Luka, Kagami, and Marc. They are the back-up protectors in case any of them get akumatized, corrupted, or compromised.
But things take a turn when Lila joins the class. She is still a meager liar, but she also happens to be the descendant of a former protector that had also attempted to keep the book for selfish reasons.
Lila ends up spying on Marinette, Adrien, and Nathaniel when they all make it clear that none of them believe her lies. She sees them with the book when she was trying to figure out how they knew. Since she knows about the book from family stories, she plots to take it from them since even to this day, her family still believes that they deserve the book.
Unluckily for her, the trio did not think it was ever a good idea to just let one of them keep the book at all times. So they are always changing hands between the three of them every few days.
Since she can never catch any of the trio without their bags, and they never have the book in their lockers, Lila decides to lie about the book to the rest of the class. They had all known that the trio shared a book between them, but none of them ever questioned them about since Marinette had spun a really good tale that it was just a cookbook that she was using when the boys asked her to teach them to cook and bake.
Since most of the class was already deep under her spell, Lila tells more lies. She first lies about the three bullying her to get the class to distrust them. Then she gets Marinette expelled to sew even more doubt into the class, even when Adrien and Nathaniel used Make-It-Happen Macarons to undo the expulsion. Lila then starts to lie about the book. First is with whispers like that book looks like the pictures of an old family heirloom that went missing a while back.” Or saying things like “why do they never let anyone near that book, pretty weird don’t you think?” She soon spreads the lie about the book being a Rossi family heirloom that went missing and even when she told the trio that, they insulted her and continued to keep the book from her.
The class had already taken to bullying the trio because of Lila’s lies. Juleka, Kim, and Alix were the only ones that did not. They first tried to just demand the book, not once believing that Lila lied about it. Then they try to just take it. When those things fail, they keep attempting to steal it in sneakier ways.
This goes on for almost a month before the class takes things too far and rip up Marinette and Nathaniel’s sketchbooks as “revenge.” The trio decide that enough is enough. Luka, Kagami, and Marc had all been trying to tell the three to use the to expose Lila and keep the book safe from her. So they decide that it is finally time to do so.
They start with A Taste of Your Own Mochi to make Lila experience karma first hand since now all of her plans will backfire on her. Then they use Gazpa-Chill Soup to keep all tempers calm to keep akumas away. Then they bring down the hammer with a combo of Settle the Beef Sandwich and Bitter Truth Truffles in order to finally reveal Lila as the liar that she was. It also revealed that the book was never Lila’s or her family’s and she just wanted it because she wants it and feels like she deserves it.
Having seen how fickle their so-called friends really were, all three of the protectors transfer to another class, same with Kim, Juleka, and Alix. But the protectors also decide to use the Forget-Me Garlic Knots to make Lila and their old class forget about the book altogether.
Next they needed to find a way to finally get rid of Hawkmoth.
It was a nasty habit that Elias had seen since the moment he'd been introduced to his wife's daughters. Lila's insatiable need to take everything from Maxine, right down to boys. Part of him knew it was Lila, but the boys were just as guilty, having easily fallen for her charms. Putting his arm comfortingly around her waist, he drew her in closer to him to kiss the side of her head softly. "Sweetheart, no boy is different. They'll get their karma when your sister eventually tosses them aside like she always does." And while Lila was certainly attractive, it was Maxine's sweet and people pleasing nature that had appealed to Elias' tastes. "He wouldn't know how to love you anyways. They never do." His other hand hooked under her chin to tilt her gaze up to meet his gently, pushing her blonde hair behind her ear slowly and with a careful touch. "Let me show you how you deserve to be loved." He whispered quietly, pouncing on this opportunity to finally have the one woman he actually wanted.
Maxine should have known it was all too good to be true when the boy she'd been crushing on since high school finally seemed to notice her. For a while she'd been happy, thinking it was finally her turn to have something of her own. Then the rug had been pulled from under her when she walked in on him and Lila. Now she was back home, crying to her step father about her heart had been broken by yet another stupid boy. "I know, but I thought he'd be different." She said pitifully, wiping away tears as she sniffled. @sinistersxns
Why Lila is Marinette’s Own Fault || Miraculous Why?
(Before I begin, note that this is my opinion over the topic and am no way am bashing anyone’s love for the ship and/or character. I respect who and what you like, therefore expect the same courtesy. However, if this is something you cannot handle, please click the back button as this will be a heavily discussed topic. No flames allowed. Other than that, enjoy.)
So usually in the story, there’s always one or two mean girls who is out to get the main character for some kind of superior reasons to justify. And there’s no reason as to why they act this way just for the sake of being mean.
Like the Ashleys from “Recess”, who tend to pick on kids just for the fun of it sometimes or cause they’re popular.
Same can go for Libby from “Sabrina The Teenage Witch” who was out to get something for what she wants or just to be superior to the other kids in school.
For Miraculous, we already have that kind of character, Chloe Bourgeois, who is the daddy’s girl of the Mayor to get what she wants. And until we had some small character development in season two (which season 3 took it away!!), we had no reason feeling sorry for her and she was just for the convenient plot in the social life for Marinette in the series.
And then… there’s Lila.
Before I get into hand in this, let me note that Lila is not a good person at all in the show. She’s a liar, a manipulator and will do whatever she can to get what she wants. She breaks into homes, steals and molests pretty models. She’s been pretty shown to be just selfish without consequences and unless we get a background story of why she acts this way, she has no excuse. Especially when she teams up with hawkdaddy to now have permission to invade and spy on Adrien whenever she wants? Fuck that.
So in Volpina, Lila is introduced as this pathological liar to get attention in season one. She obviously goes for Adrien cause he’s the famous model after all. Reasonable considering as the new person looking for attention, you seek out the most popular/famous person in the school. That would Adrien.
Though considering with her connections, it would’ve been smarter to try and impress Marinette instead if Lila did her research before she came into the scene. But of course, new person so she wouldn’t know, but whatever.
And we can see Lila easily just says things just to get Adrien’s approval and such.
And so, Marinette follows them around (stalking? really?) because Tikki points out Lila has the book Adrien took from his father’s vault and threw it in the trash.
Now the SMART thing to do would’ve been to see how Adrien would handle the situation and wait for him to leave, if to acknowledge Adrien has a mind of his own and knows when to walk away (which he does). Or at the very least, try to distract them as Marinette while Tikki retrieved the book.
But… no. You transform into Ladybug to lash out at a girl PUBLICALLY, for anyone including Adrien to hear, just to embarrass her and call her out on her lying because she… “hates liars”.
Marinette, you fucking lie ALL the time! Most of those times to Adrien! And I’m not just talking about when in regard to being Ladybug, you hypocritical- (groans)
I can list plenty of episodes: Gamer, Aninmaestro, Ikari Gozen and hell, even Reverser counts! If she hadn’t lied about Marc’s book, Nathaniel wouldn’t have torn it! (sighs)
And before you all start jumping at me saying Lila got what she deserves, I only agree partially. Ladybug, as a public figure and heroine, practically the face of Paris, acted irrationally lashing out at a bystander because of lies which were or were not believable. Lila was broadcasting a post or making the news, she was trying (poorly) to impress a boy. Ladybug gave Lila the Regina George treatment.
Yeah, so you caused an akumatized situation and Lila hates your guts. Hell, I would hate you too. That’s like a celebrity jumping at an innocent bystander when they’re whispering to their friend about a rumor that only the two of them were talking about. You can’t jump to try and stop them and should just let it dispel on its own. At that point, Lila had no real power but you just influenced her.
And… oh boy did things get worse because of this.
Look season 3 was trash (except for moments in certain episodes) and I feel talking about the infamous ‘Chameleon’ physically hurts me but… yeah gotta point out a few things. The whole episode was unrealistic, and it was an obvious ploy to be sympathetic to Marinette with Lila back… but… you’re not fooling me.
So, Lila is still on her lying game, being able to fool the students and the staff?! Okay if you believe a student has so many disabilities without any paperwork proof, you can actually get fired for that for fraud. As someone who worked with education before, that’s just pure incompetence.
So yeah, Marinette comes to school seeing the seats changes to accommodate Lila and upright begins to plot to discredit her for her lies. UM… what happened to trying to start over with Lila after failing to do so the first time?
Oh, that’s right. She gets that way (at least partly) because Lila is sitting next to Adrien. I can understand if it was because they rearranged the seating without her say so but let’s face it. Lila sitting next to Adrien was her real trigger.
So since Marinette failed to acknowledge her mistake the first time, she spends all day trying to prove Lila is lying and in return the class is angry at her. Alya even comes to point out that Marinette is jealous of Lila.
And you know what? Alya is right.
Alya knows at least what Marinette is capable of doing so when it comes to Adrien and how far she’s willing to go. Remember that Alya is the one who encouraged her to break into his locker and steal his phone. So of course, she’s worried Marinette is gonna do something to the new girl.
I don’t blame Alya for doing one of the most competent things in the show: Warning Marinette to NOT go off the handle without proof and not make herself look bad in the process.
And because Marinette failed to do so… she made Lila her enemy AGAIN. It was bad enough you had her as your enemy as Ladybug, but now you get to deal with twice the drama!
Your own fucking fault, Marinette.
Also, the advice Adrien gave? I don’t blame for him for it and neither should you. Yes, his advice is not perfect, but with the options he has on his plate, its hard to do something otherwise.
For every encounter Adrien has had with Lila, it ended up with her being akumatized or a disaster no matter how he tried to handle her. We didn’t get to see how he would resolve in Volpina because of Ladybug’s intervention, but he would try at least in Chameleon and try to get her to see she didn’t need to lie and actually tried to befriend her. At this point, Lila was already triggered by Ladybug and Marinette so she just might have to take Adrien by force instead.
At that point, Adrien just wants to stay away and which he was trying to tell Marinette don’t interact with Lila or confront her cause there’s no way to do so at this point. Maybe he was trying to tell her to wait until her rumors got discredited, but he didn’t say it clear enough for her to understand.
And keep in mind, Adrien is a sheltered child with little to zero social skills taught to him by Nathalie and Gabriel. Hell, we don’t know how his childhood was really like even with Emelie around either and Adrien seems more like the pacifist unless he needs to absolutely step in. And he did by cleaning up Marinette’s mess in ‘Ladybug’. So now he’s gotta suffer being around Lila more because of Marinette making Lila her enemy.
But once again, this is bad writing as the writers of the show obviously forgot what it’s like to live in reality. In the real world, Lila would be immediately discredited without any proof the moment she came back. Not to mention, some of the class have their own connections and have more braincells proven in the previous episodes. Google search and such. A 5-year-old wouldn’t believe these lies in these times. Hey, I believe that because I once had a kid in kindergarten during my time as an afterschool art teacher look at one of my books I illustrated before and said they liked the ‘graphics’.
Kids are fucking smarter nowadays than you think.
The only reason anyone would believe Lila’s lies is if she’s magically influenced with some kind of ‘silver tongue’ spell or something and honestly? It looks like that’s the reason.
I dunno if Thomas Astruc or Zag is trying to insult the kids/adults or insult themselves to say Paris people aren’t that smart. If it’s the latter, you should see what you are doing because I don’t want to believe that because that’s disrespectful.
I know it seems I’m trying to stand up for Lila this portion, but I’m just looking things in a  more realistic and logical way. Did Lila take things too far? Yes, waaaayyy too far and should be arrested for it since she works for Hawkmoth. But it could’ve been handled better and that makes Marinette at fault too.
Part of me wonders if she’s done this before because in Zombiezou, she also causes Chloe to ruin her gift for Ms. bustier. If Marinette didn’t antagonize Chloe in the locker in front of the class, maybe she wouldn’t have done anything. Again, I’m not saying Chloe was justified, but if that was the reason, yeah I can see her doing it for payback.
So to all those fics where I’m supposed to be ‘Boo-hoo’ for Marinette because of what Lila did? Fuck you guys because you need to dig deeper into the story to see both sides and not just make it a pity party where Marinette is the innocent victim.
It’s called “Cause and Effect”.
And considering she made Lila her enemy, Marinette is gonna get effected enough because that’s how karma works.
Damian uses the lasso of truth on Lila and Akuma class to reveal why they treated Mari horribly (except Alix Nath Chlo Sabrina Kim Jules)Lila has issues & her + Alya Max even Rose were jealous of Mari’s success, connections and how perfectly good she is (Rose: without being annoying and childish)and since Lila tells them what they want to hear and they wanted 2 her Mari wasn’t better than them that she’s lower and it was an excuse to bully her. Think of the worst karma 4 them to suffer through
Here you go! I based the karma off of how bullying had been handled at my old school. Hope you like it! Let me know what you think.
Damian hadn’t even met this Lila girl yet, but he already despised her. Marinette had told him all about Lila and her lies. Damian had met Marinette a several months ago when he accompanied his father to Paris for business. The Waynes visited the Dupain-Cheng bakery, and Marinette offered to show Damian around Paris. Before Damian could reject the offer, Bruce accepted it for him. Damian begrudgingly followed the young designer, but ended up enjoying her company. After that trip, the two kept texting and skyping to stay in touch and became good friends.
 -----------------
It wasn’t long after they met, that the Lila situation took a turn for the worse. Lila began making progress turning the class against Marinette. Alix, Nathaniel, Chloe, Sabrina, Kim, and Juleka didn’t believe what Lila was saying about Marinette. But the rest of the class had turned on Marinette, believing the worst in her. They all thought she was bullying Lila, and they in turn, bullied her. Marinette’s friends tried defending her, but the rest of the class was still able to torment Marinette when she was alone. Adrien, even though he knew Lila was lying, did nothing to stop the class’ attack against Marinette. While Marinette was happy that she still had some of her friends, she was upset that the rest of the class could think so little of her.
  -----------------
Marinette became quieter after a while. The bullying was starting to take its toll on her. Damian noticed the change in Marinette pretty quickly and asked what was wrong. He knew that Marinette, the bubbliest person he knew, wouldn’t be this quiet unless something was wrong. She was very hesitant to say anything, but eventually he got the whole story out of her. How her class had started to bully her, based off the word of a liar. How friends she had trusted, had turned on her in the blink of an eye. Damian was furious. He had become rather protective of Marinette, and was infuriated that her class was being so cruel to her. So, he resolved to do something about it.
  -----------------
Damian had spoken to Wonder Woman, who said his plan should work. Damian was going to borrow the lasso of truth and reveal the liar to the class, if not the whole school. He planned to trap, not just Lila, but all of Marinette’s bullies in the rope. That way, the rest of her class could not doubt the veracity of the lasso. He was going to do this during either lunch or the end of the day, to ensure the maximum amount of witnesses to the liar’s forced confession. He hoped some faculty might be there as well and be able to take action against the liar and her followers. With his plan set in motion, Damian prepared to go to Paris later that week. He was determined to help Marinette solve her liar problem. He was, admittedly, looking forward to destroying this liar.
  -----------------
Finally, Damian arrived in Paris. He had decided to enact his plan at the end of the school day. That way Marinette couldn’t be bombarded afterwards, and the faculty was most likely to be present during dismissal. Damian arrived at the school a few minutes before dismissal was set to begin. He waited by the stairs, ready for Mrs. Bustier’s class to walk by. He knew, from what Marinette told him, that her tormentors often left the class first, leaving Marinette and her friends alone in the classroom. He also knew what the liar looked like. So, once the classes were dismissed, he waited until he spotted a crowd of about six people surrounding the liar come down the stairs. It was time to reveal the liar. With that thought in mind, Damian threw the lasso around the group.
  -----------------
Marinette was walking out with her friends, and had just gotten to the top of the stairs, when she saw a golden rope ensnare Lila and her cronies. She was very confused, even more so when she saw Damian holding the other end of the rope. Why was Damian here? Why did Damian tie up half her class? Damian spoke up, “This lasso compels you to speak the truth. It is the lasso of truth, and we are going to have a little conversation.” Max went to deny that this was the legendary lasso, but instead he was forced to say, “Yes, this is the lasso of truth.” Marinette was shocked. New question. How did Damian get a hold of the lasso of truth?
  -----------------
Damian noticed out of the corner of his eye that an older man had emerged from an office upstairs. That must be the headmaster. Perfect. Damian glared at the girl he knew to be Lila Rossi, “You are Lila Rossi, correct?” Lila was forced to confirm that that was in fact her name. Damian continued, not giving anyone a chance to stop him, “Isn’t it true that you are nothing but a liar?” To Lila’s horror she said, “Yes, I am a liar.” Gasps were heard from around the courtyard. Damian smirked, “Tell the truth Lila, what all have you lied about?” Lila tried to resist, but the lasso forced her to reveal everything. The truth came tumbling out of her, and didn’t stop until she had revealed everything she had ever lied about. She revealed that she didn’t know any of the celebrities she claimed to know, and that she never intended to help her class reach their goals like she had promised. She even revealed that all of her injuries and disabilities were all fake. Even the lying disease she had made up, which caused Mr. Damocles to become quite angry that this young girl had tricked him. Damian asked one more question for the liar, “To be clear, Marinette Dupain-Cheng never bullied or harassed you in any way, but you have been bullying her, correct?” Lila tried desperately to keep her mouth shut, but of course it didn’t work, “That is correct. Marinette never did anything to me except call me out as a liar. I wanted to make her suffer for seeing through my lies. No one ever sees through them. So, I turned her class against her. I even got them to start bullying her by claiming that she had been bullying me. I only ever told them what they wanted to hear.” That statement caught Damian’s attention. He hadn’t originally intended on actually using the lasso on the rest of the class. He had just considered them to be idiots that followed the words of the liar. Now he wondered just how innocent they really were. He then turned his attention to the rest of the class.
  -----------------
Damian asked the trapped akuma class, “Did you truly believe Lila’s lies?” When they confirmed that, he continued, “Why did you believe her over Marinette? Why did you all turn on your friend? Why start bullying Marinette?” The class all tried fighting it, but they had the same success that Lila had in that endeavor. Alya broke first, “We were jealous of her! She is the same age as us, but she is already successful as a fashion designer and has so many connections. She is so perfect all the time, it is so annoying.” Rose chimed in, “Yeah, I always thought she had to be better than us, since she was so successful. All of us did. It made me feel insecure. My friend was already so much further ahead in life than I was. But then Lila told us that Marinette wasn’t any better than us.” The rest of the trapped akuma class agreed with that, then Alya spoke up again, “Yeah, in fact Lila said that Marinette was actually worse than us. She was only successful because she happened to know famous people. She was using her connections to get ahead instead of working hard.” Damian became enraged hearing that. Marinette did work hard and how dare these people assume otherwise. Damian growled, “So you decided to bully her for that inane reason?” Alya spoke again, “It wasn’t just that. Lila told us that Marinette was bullying her. If Marinette sunk that low, then she deserved to know what it was like to be bullied.” Damian was quickly losing his composure, hearing these people say such vile things. It seems the rest of the school was of the same mind, because most everyone was glaring at the akuma class now. Mr. Damocles had now come downstairs to stand next to Damian. Damian also noticed that several students were filming what the akuma class was saying. Good, there will be a record of what they have said. Damian asked one final question, “To be clear, how have you been bullying Marinette? What did you do to her?” The class then began to admit everything they had ever done to Marinette. Every cruel word, every bit of destruction, every trip and shove. By the end of the confession, the whole school was furious with this group. How could they do all that to one of the sweetest girls in the school.
  -----------------
When they were finally finished, Damian released them from the lasso. They tried to back pedal and fix the damage they had caused. But they weren’t able fix this with a few words. The group were taken by Mr. Damocles to his office, so they could discuss what they had admitted to. Their parents were called and were horrified to hear what their kids had done. Lila was expelled and her mother sent Lila back to Italy to live with her grandparents who would be able to watch her more closely. Obviously, the rest of the parents grounded their kids. Nino and Rose, who hadn’t done much more than call Marinette names, were given in school suspension and told they had to write an apology to Marinette. Ivan, Mylene, and Max were all suspended for 10 days, and they also had to write an apology. Even though they hadn’t destroyed much of Marinette’s property, their parents still were going to make them pay back Marinette for everything they had destroyed. Adrien, even though he didn’t directly participate in the bullying, was still made to take classes in bullying prevention, the damage bullying can cause, and how to recognize toxic behaviors in people.  Alya, who had done the most damage, was also suspended. She was suspended for 10 days as well, pending a hearing with the school board. Only the school board could suspend a student for longer than 10 days. Alya had been confident that she could convince the school board to let her return to school, but it hadn’t worked in her favor. The school board was horrified by the details of what Alya had done and agreed she needed to be suspended for even longer. Alya was officially suspended for 3 weeks. After that time, she would still have detention after school for the next month. Her parents also decided to make her shut down the Ladyblog, which Alya had started using as a way to harass Marinette online. Finally, Alya was also made to pay Marinette back for everything she had destroyed. Everyone that was punished also had their event privileges taken from them, which meant they could not attend any school events, like dances or trips. Even when their punishments were done, the akuma class realized that things had changed drastically for them at school. The rest of the school treated them like pariahs.
  -----------------
Meanwhile Marinette moved on from the events of the akuma class. She became her happy, bubbly self again. She was glad to finally be free of that liar’s manipulations. While she did accept everyone’s apology, they were never truly friends again, the relationships were just too damaged to go back to normal. While it did make Marinette sad to realize that all of these people that she thought were her friends were jealous of her, she was happy to have discovered people that were her true friends. She and Damian were closer than ever, and she was very grateful to him for putting an end to Lila’s torments.
An Akuma shows up at school for a specific target in Mind: Bustier. Revealing the Akuma was an former student and wants retribution for her ‘teachings’ of being a ‘good example’ made a negative impact on their mental and emotional health. Mainly Bustier facing the consequences of her actions, and revealed a lot more have suffered. No class bashing, or salt. Except doing to Lila and Bustier
I like this prompt so much and I couldn’t wait to finish it! Hope it was close to what you imagined!
Karma
Marinette paced the hallway outside the door of her classroom waiting for Mme. Bustier to meet her there for what she could guess would be yet another lecture on being the bigger person. It was so frustrating.
The sound of the door opening caught her attention as her teacher finally arrived, a small frown gracing her face.
“Now Marinette, I don’t understand what is going on between you and Lila, but you need to be the bigger person here like you always are. You know she has a disease and your outburst in class was unacceptable.”
“But Mme. Bustier! She was spreading lies about my friend! Adrien isn’t here to rebuttal for himself but I know he wouldn’t appreciate her lying about their relationship.”
Marinette crossed her arms in deviance only earning a dissatisfied headshake from her favorite teacher. Her heart sank a little at the idea that Bustier really meant for her to apologize to Lila yet again.
She didn’t even bother waiting for her response as she slunk back towards the door, already giving in before the argument could even begin. Her hand reached toward the handle only pausing when she heard a soft gasp from behind.
Marinette turned just in time to see a woman enveloped in the purple smoke that could only point to one thing. An akumanization.
“Mme. Bustier, let’s go.”
Marinette used all of her strength to pull her teacher out of her daze as they made a beeline down the stairs, away from the emerging victim. Without thinking, Marinette brought her phone to her ear, the number already dialing before her foot hit the ground level.
“Hey girl, what happened with Bustier? Are-”
“No time Alya, akuma outside the classroom, ring the alarm and lock the door, Bustier and I are going to be fine but help everyone else.”
She didn’t wait for a response as she slipped her phone back into her pocket. They were mere steps away from the lockers when a figure dropped in front of Marinette causing her to skid to a stop.
“Caline Bustier, I see you are still the same. Coddling the bully’s feelings and dropping all responsibility for their actions on innocent students.”
Bustier tried to shake her head, deny the accusation but she couldn't find her voice. The woman cocked her head at Marinette as if trying to decide if she was worth the trouble to get to the teacher. Deciding she wasn’t, she lowered what looked like a ribbon extending from her sleeve.
“Little girl, please go, be free. I will take care of Bustier, make sure she never hurts you again.”
Marinette shook her in disbelief as she stared at the woman with curiosity.
“She’s never laid a hand on me, I think you have the wrong person.”
Hearing Marinette’s voice snapped Bustier out of her trance as she attempted to push Marinette behind her and out of danger. The akuma’s face softened as she reached out to gingerly cup Marinette’s cheek.
“I too used to think she was an angel too. Someone sent down to protect me from everything bad in this world, but she’s not. She manipulates you into thinking it’s your fault that the Lila’s of this world exists.”
“That’s not true, Stephanie, please. Leave Marinette out of this. You had so much potential, I didn’t want to see you waste it by stooping down to their level-”
“Hush witch, it’s Professor Karma now.” Her voice was cold sending a shiver down Marinette’s back as she turned her attention back to the girl. “It makes you disappointed in not only her but yourself too. You begin to think you’re to blame for everyone incapable of change. Being the bigger person takes a mental toll, let me help ease that for you.”
Marinette hadn’t noticed the relief that had seeped through her body originating from the woman’s touch. It was so soothing, she just wanted to give in and let her take all the weight from her shoulders.
“Stay away from her!”
Marinette’s eyes flew back open as Chat Noir landed a blow onto the akuma in front of her.
“You ruined the process! You dumb hero! I could’ve taken all her pain away for her, but you just had to step in didn’t you.”
Chat Noir took a defensive stance between the akuma and Marinette.
“That’s not what it looked like to me. You were lulling her to sleep, her body was turning blue!”
Marinette looked down at her hands as the blue faded back to her normal pale color. Gods, what had she almost done? The fight needs Ladybug and she was about to give in to the akuma for what? A little bit of relief?
She sidestepped as the akuma slung its ribbons trying to bring Chat Noir down. Marinette wasn’t sure how much longer he could last by himself, but she couldn't leave Bustier by herself. She reached forward gripping Bustier's hand, startling the woman.
“C’mon Mme Bustier, we need to get you out of here.”
The teacher still seemed in a daze, a longing look in her eyes directed toward the akuma.
“Go Marinette, hide, please. I need to be here for Stephanie.”
Marinette wanted to protest, but this was her chance. She had a better chance of helping her as Ladybug than as Marinette. Without looking backward, she made a run for the exit, trying to ignore Chat’s taunting as he continued playing his dangerous game of cat and mouse.
“Tikki, was the akuma right? Am I really taking a toll from just Mme. Bustier’s words?”
“Marinette, you’ve always done so much for your class and for that woman. Eventually, it was going to catch up with you, especially when everyone expects nothing less than perfect. Nobody’s perfect, not even us Gods.”
Marinette called on her transformation, Tikki’s words ringing in her head. She knew Mme. Bustier only meant well, she wanted to push Marinette to be her very best on all levels including her personal life, but Tikki was right, she expected perfect Marinette everyday and she was never allowed to slip up even for a moment.
It was exhausting.
Marinette charged into the scene just in time to catch a limp Chat Noir, his skin completely blue. Her eyes widened as she nudged his cheek, trying to elicit any sort of reaction from him.
“What did you do to him?!”
The akuma’s smile was almost ghastly, nothing like the sweet and caring woman that had held Marinette only minutes earlier.
“I took all his pain from him. Now he will be in a peaceful sleep. You should be grateful, after all, he’ll never be hurt again.”
Marinette felt a heat rushing to her face as she tried to level her emotions. Gently laying him to the ground, Marinette placed a small kiss on her forehead, almost recoiling from how icy he felt.
“Now, it is your turn Caline.”
Before Marinette could move, the akuma's hand had already reached Bustier’s face
“Sleep is too peaceful for you. No, you Caline Bustier will turn on your own methods and finally punish those who deserve it.”
Marinette swung her yo-yo and the woman, trying to pull her teacher away, but it was useless. She watched as Bustier turned a warm shade of orange, her pupils enlarging until all that was left of her eye was a small patch of white in the corner.
“Gods, no.” Marinette raised her hand to her mouth in horror at her former teacher.
With a renewed fury, Marinette swung forward dodging the ribbons that seemed to move on their own.
“C’mon hero, shouldn’t you be for this idea! This woman breaks down the strong and raises the bullies on thrones, she deserves every minute of her punishment.”
Marinette cried out as her yo-yo finally made contact with a small locket sitting on the akuma’s chest. A small purple butterfly quickly flitted out but her yo-yo was quicker snatching it mid-air. As she released the butterfly, she ran back to where her partner laid, the color fading from his skin as he returned to a healthier shade.
Once she was sure he was going to be fine, Marinette walked over to the victim.
“Stephanie? Are you okay?”
She crouched to where the woman was sitting, her locket opened in her hand. Risking a peek, Marinette’s heart melted at the small phrase that it held inside.
“If we wish to change the world, we must all learn to love each other. It’s what she first told me when I entered her class all those years ago.”
Marinette risked a look over to where Bustier stood. The woman’s eyes were wide with concern as she fiddled with her sleeve. Offering a hand to Stephanie, Marinette helped her stand.
“You really hurt me Caline. Do you understand how much of a perfectionist I became? It was unhealthy. I lost jobs for taking too long on projects because I knew I couldn't turn in something that wasn’t example worthy. Do you know how many raises I missed out on because I took the high road and let my coworkers walk all over me, claiming my victories as their own?”
Bustier opened her mouth and closed it as if she was a gaping fish. Marinette slowly became conscious of the gathering crowd, all watching the exchange between the two women.
“Maybe-”
The woman held a hand to Marinette’s face as she marched forward, her own eyes watering in frustration.
“Did you know that I finally got a job on the school board? I was coming to observe your class, confident that you had realized your error by now, but then do you know what I overhear? You scolding another poor young girl like you did to me all those years ago. Do you know how many people you have hurt?”
Marinette took a step backward as she helped Chat Noir to his feet, both unsure how to handle the situation in front of them.
“What do we do my lady?”
“I’m not sure there’s much we can do.”
They watched as the color drained from Bustier’s face as Stephanie took a step forward. Her eyes narrowed in on the woman as she cleared her throat.
“Let’s make one thing clear here. I’ll return at a random date to do this observation and if I feel in the slightest way that the young woman I saw or anyone for that matter is falling victim to your abuse then I will see to it that you never teach again. Understood?”
Bustier simply nodded as the woman turned on her heel, exiting the building as chaos exploded. Marinette shared a look with Chat Noir as they both swung out of the school, trying to keep neutral faces.
It wasn’t the way they would’ve handled it, but maybe a little karma is what they needed to push for a change and neither could deny how ready they were for that.
Still have no names for this fic Pt.2
But I don't have any other fics on this blog right now so if you're looking for it just searching my username should be enough
-First-. -Next-
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
While this all was happening in the superheros' personal lives Hawkmoth was still present of course so let me tell you about them
After Ladybug has became the guardian Chat noir has became... jelaous? He kept saying that they were equals and he should know what she knew too.
While Chat's flirting has decreased he kept on insisting that he was worthy of knowing as much as she did about the miraculouses and guardianship. He wouldn't listen to her in battles and say that he was capable of thinking of a plan too , just because she was the guardian didn't mean she gets to boss him around . (And this behavior has nothing to do with Lila's interviews on the Ladyblog about how "Ladybug didn't treat Chat noir fairly and as her friend she didn't want this to cause arguments between the partners, so Ladybug should just let him know more about things.")
But at least he still showed up to battles, right? Well....not really. Ladybug didn't know if it was better or worse since sometimes he would cause a distraction to the akuma but sometimes he would just make Ladybug's job harder with putting himself and the miraculous in danger.
So Viperion and Ryuuko became permament heroes. They patrolled with Ladybug, battled beside her and sometimes had to keep Chat noir from following Ladybug to learn her identity because "If there would be an emergency he couldn't contact her" and not because he wanted to 'borrow' the miracle box to make Ladybug share information with him.
Then Chat noir started not to show up at all (because Lila thinks Ladybug would be easier to defeat without him doesn't deserve him). Ladybug was rather relieved actually he was no help anyways , they would be better without him.
×××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
After a while Adrien decides to break up with Marinette and let her know about Lila and him just to hurt her. When Adrien says he wants to break up, Marinette is rather relieved that she wouldn't have to try not to break his heart when she will be telling the same . He told her about this at lunchbreak telling her to stay after everyone had gotten out of the classroom ,so after that they get out of the classroom.
Marinette exited the classroom after gathering her belongings. Just as she was about to head to home for lunch she sees Adrien kissing Lila in the middle of the cafeteria. She was shocked to say the least. And maybe a bit heartbroken.
Marinette felt like she was drowning.
She was worried when Adrien started to hang around Lila more that the girl would try to fill his head with lies about her and he would finally snap then his father would be mad. But she never expected..... this. After all that happened she didn't think that her ex-boyfriend would kiss her bully moments after breaking up with her.
She remembered the day Lila came back. The day she threatened her that she would take all of her friends from her and Adrien would be hers and she would be all alone. The day the two declared war. Did Lila win now?
She hung her head as she lost the war and watched as the sky turned black, like a perfect storm. She was drowning when she felt the rain come pouring down. Inside her head ,she screamed. She screamed so loud but no one heard a thing.
But then she remembered that the feeling of drowning wasn't new. She felt like it whenever she was near her classmates and Adrien nowadays. Whenever they pressured her to do something she didn't want to , she felt like drowning.
Then she felt that she could breath again. Rid from the pressure of everybody around her. Now that Adrien couldn't force her to do "little" favors for her classmates or make her sit and listen to what adventure the liar has experienced this time , give her disappointed looks whenever she refused to , she felt free.
Maybe that perfect storm wasn't coming her way afterall
She saw Lie-la smiling to the kiss . No doubt because she saw Marinette's reaction. Thinking that she finally won. But Marinette didn't feel defeated - no she felt like she dodged a bullet for getting rid of people who thought so little of her. She was free.
She was drowning but that was when she could finally breath With that in mind she took a deep breath and headed home.
At home she went straight to her room as she realized the butterflies she felt in her stomach she once felt whenever she was beside him, has long ago turned to dust.
And she cried herself to sleep that night thinking about the betrayal , promising herself that this would be the last time they would succeed in making her cry. Cause she knew karma would come after them .And if karma didn't, she could always do it for her. But for now she would let Lila live in her temporary heaven.
It will be the last day in heaven,
When karma will come to bite.
You think they'll survive it?
No, they will not.
