Do you have good recommendations for AgeRe stories? Something really cute and fluffy? (I'm a lonely regressor and I love reading stories about really sweet caregivers.)
I do!! I adore reading agere fics, so here are some recs! I hope you enjoy!!! 💖
Gen:
Decontamination by SailorChibi - Marvel - Baby!Tony and CG!Steve - After a battle, Steve takes care of his baby - (This one is a Classification!AU/Littles are Known!AU... like, one of the very first ones. Very good and fluffy. If you ever read thorough their fics, (tagged NSAP bc agere straight up did not exist as a community yet) you'll start spotting alot of things that other people were/are inspired from.)
Picnic by SailorChibi - Marvel - Baby!Tony, CG!Steve, Middle!Bucky, Toddler!Clint, CG!Coulson, Kiddo!Scott, CG!Sam W., Kiddo!Peter P., CG!Wade, Kid!Wanda, and CG!Vision - All the Avengers have a nice picnic - (classification!au, but a different verse than the previous fic jsyk. this one is suuuuper fluffy and cute and fun <3)
Less than Five by SailorChibi - Daniel Craig's James Bond - Little!Q and CG!Bond - Q regresses smaller than usual; his daddy makes sure he's taken care of - (classification!AU, first of a series. first two fics are pretty fluffy, but the third has some angst, which makes the fluff even sweeter, in my opinion)
coffee makers and bumblebees by orchidsncrake - Daredevil - Little!Matt and CG!Foggy - Matt becomes overstimulated and after an altercation with the office's coffee maker, Foggy is there to make everything better
Small surprises by undergroundrice - Daredevil - Little!Matt and CG!Foggy - Foggy stumbles onto Matt regressing, and together they figure it out
A Second Shot by mylittlestories - MCU - Little!Natasha, Little!Clint, and CG!Coulson - Natasha didn't have much of a childhood. When she sees that having a second one is possible, she wants; Coulson and Clint are happy to make her family :) - (This one is unfinished, but what's there is just so nice I have to include it!!)
Give your Dreams the Wings to Fly by Honey_Dewey - FNAF Movie - Little!Matt and CG!Ness - Mike gets sick at work, but his boyfriend is there to make everything okay
the road to hope and adventures into the unknown (target) by romansprince - Barbie (2023) - Little!Ken, then CG!Barbie and CG!Gloria - Ken has become human... except he's never had a childhood. Sometimes he feels Fuzzy, but that's something he thinks he can keep secret. As he turns out, he can't, but it works out anyway - (Two separate fics that take place in the same universe/series. The first one/set-up is a little angsty, but the second is more fluffy)
Movie Night by mcschnuggles - Heathers - Little!JD and CG!Veronica - JD unexpectedly drops into headspace during a movie night with the rest of the teenagers; Veronica helps him through it - (Modern!AU, Everyone Lives!AU, this one is kinda angsty, but like, it's canon appropriate, lol - also!!! make sure that you check out the author's other works!!!!! lots of agere fics for a large variety of fandoms!!)
Toffee Ticking Time Bomb by GayCheerios - Star Wars - Little!Anakin and CG!Obi-Wan - Obi-Wan has to find his padawan's stuffie before the inevitable temper tantrum ensues - (classification!AU, part of a very nice and good series that, if you enjoy this fic, you should also check out)
Baby's First Bath by CyberToddler - Beetlejuice: The Musical - Toddler!Beetlejuice and CG!Maitlands - The Maitlands give Beetlejuice his very first bath - ( 👉👈 I wrote this one 😖)
Evolution by Cgetbrmj - The Last of Us (TV) - Little!Ellie and CG!Joel - Series that follows each episode of the show, and explores how these characters stumble upon age regression as a coping mechanism and how much they both realize they enjoy it. - (Slowburn agere, as it explores how it develops naturally between both characters. This one DOES contain some angst as it relates to the show, but overall is as fluffy as its setting allows)
Reader-Inserts:
The Doctor's Office by agerefandom (tazia101) - Twilight - Little!Reader and CG!Carlisle - Reader goes to their first check-up in their new town and unexpectedly regresses; thankfully, their doctor is more than understanding - (I can not emphasize enough how much I love this one. Hits all the right buttons, I'm so happy/thankful I found it before I had to establish care w/ a new doctor, it's just- so good)
Sugary Sweet by agerefandom (tazia101) - Twilight - Baby!Reader and CG!Alice and Jasper - A comfy, happy morning with your vampire caregivers - (be sure to check out the writer for more fandoms!! lots of agere fics, including gen and reader!insert!)
little life at the mansion by myworldoffanfiction - X-Men - Little!Reader and CG!X-Men (the main gang lol) - First chapter is a busy yet comfy morning while living at Xavier's Mansion. Second chapter is a fun Summer evening - (this one is sooooo sweet 😭)
Play Pretend by Vinnies_Comfort_Corner - Scream (1996) - Kiddo!Reader, Flip!Stu, and CG!Billy - You and Stu play pretend while waiting for Billy to come home - (if you enjoy this one, make sure you check out their other regression fics!!! there's even one with a petreg puppy!reader!! and other horror media!!)
Red Stained Fingers by CyberToddler - Scream (1996) - Little!Reader, CG!Stu, and CG!Billy - Unorthodox sensory play with diy-ed fake blood, lol - (I also wrote this one 😅 it's sugary sweet, I promise, lol)

X-Men Evolution CG Steve Rogers and Regressor Logan
Very self indulgent caregiver Cap and age/pet regressor Wolvie bc they’re my favorite rare pair
Tumblr media
Having better technology now Shield was able to use Logan’s healing factor to save Steve so he could come out of the ice finally, Logan was just as straight faced as usual but the little baby part of his brain was just an excited little puppy.
My Papa! My Papa! Papa come back!!
Before Steve was back Logan would go to museums sometimes when he was feeling small and spend time looking at the Captain America exhibits.
He has gotten into a few arguments with the poor museum staff when they say it’s unclear if Captain America was real or just a story.
Steve obviously didn’t fully understand what was happening when Logan regressed for the first time but Logan was his friend (lover if you want and I do want) so he was going to help him out as best he could.
It’s okay, Buddy. You’re okay. When Logan breaks down because being small crept up on him after a mission.
When he got back Steve was finally able to do proper research on Logan regressing, he isn’t quite sure if Logan age regresses or pet regressed or both.
Logan isn’t entirely sure either and doesn’t particularly care to try figuring it out.
Logan will hold on to Steve’s belt while he follows him around when it’s just the two of them. He still does it after Steve finally comes back. He doesn’t want anything or even always need to be going with Steve, he just wants to.
Steve will let Logan cuddle him when they slept, a lot of their missions were just the two of them so no one else would see, and now they have the privacy of a room in the mansion together and the X-Men are very understanding.
Logan will cling to Steve’s arm or lay on his chest when they sleep together, it takes some getting used to when Steve gets back because Logan is much heavier now.
Steve tries to be cautious about how much praise he gives Logan so he doesn’t over whelm him.
Lots of Good boy, Logan. And tussling his hair when he does little things well to build up his confidence.
After Steve comes back Logan takes a long time to tell him about what he remembers of Weapon X, Steve just holds him when he does and assures him that none of it was his fault.
Steve will take Logan to baseball games, Logan spends the whole time asking for snacks and enjoying all the fun smells instead of watching the game, but then still insists he wants Steve to teach him how to play.
Steve does try to teach Logan how to play baseball every so often, it always turns into a game of fetch because Logan would rather chase the ball than try to hit or catch it.
Papa, throw again? Sure, Buddy, but I need the ball back first. No! Mine!
Logan likes to bite a lot, Steve has gotten quite a few sizable marks on his arms from it.
Thanks to the serum Steve can carry Logan about as easily as a regular guy his size could carry an average person.
Logan isn’t sure how he feels about being carried, but it is kind of nice for Steve to carry him to bed when he’s sleepy.
Steve likes taking Logan to museums, usually they won’t go to any that involve war history, Steve doesn’t want to accidentally trigger anything. But sometimes Logan likes to go and tell Steve things that got wrong about certain wars he fought in if he’s feeling a bit older than usual.
That is not how it happened. It was actually- and Steve just listens, having no idea if it actually is more accurate or if Logan is exaggerating.
Rising acceptance of LGBTQ was great for them because fewer people cared if they held hands while going for walks (and cause they deserve to kiss) So Steve can actually hold on to Logan when they go on nature walks now.
Logan once barked at and bit a guy who yelled at them for holding hands. Steve had to explain to Logan that it was great that he was standing up for them but he can’t bite people.
He was mean! It’s still not nice to bite, Pal. He was mean, Papa!
Steve can’t exactly argue with the logic, biting isn’t the best way to go, but that man was indeed mean first and did deserve it.

Flirting with Danger (Robin & Eddie & Steve snippet)
“Hey, Eddie? Why do you flirt with Steve so much?”
Eddie froze. Eddie was always in motion, so it was strange to see him still. Eddie thought he ran, but that wasn’t true. He deflected, he made himself larger than life, turned parts of himself that he was confident about into a target. Unless he was really, really afraid. Then he froze.
Robin understood his other habits. She babbled when she was nervous. She preferred being teased for talking too much or for being a klutz than the other things she was worried people noticed about her.
But Robin had never used outrageously flirting with Steve as a tactic. She’d made fun of him, sure, but it had been hilarious watching The Hair strike out with literally every single girl who’d ever walked into Scoops Ahoy.
What Eddie was doing was different.
Robin forged on, her mouth running ahead of her brain, as usual. “Cause, like, I get it. He’s pretty and all and he makes some really funny faces when you do that. But he doesn’t really reciprocate so I would have stopped by now if I were you, but who knows, I’ve never even been on a date so maybe my problem is that I give in early. Oh my god. Maybe you’re actually doing this right.”
Eddie raised his hands in a wide gesture. “Woah, Buckley, chill. And lower your voice.”
Robin looked around. They were still alone, the only ones in Steve’s living room. But she understood why Eddie was afraid of this conversation being overheard, even if she thought anyone with eyeballs must have realized he was hitting on Steve by now. Except maybe Mike Wheeler, who was blind to just about everything, and Dustin, who was still determined to set Steve up with either Robin or Nancy, and Lucas, who was still distracted with his girlfriend’s recovery.
Okay, maybe not everyone had noticed.
“Sorry,” Robin said. “But come on, you can tell me.”
Eddie looked around again, then leaned in dramatically. “Okay, this is going to sound stupid, but. I don’t know how well you knew Steve a few years ago.”
“Not well. We had Mrs. Click’s class together two years ago, but besides that our paths never really crossed.”
“Yeah,” Eddie said. “Well Steve and I didn’t exactly run in the same circles, but we ran in overlapping ones. I was a junior when he was a sophomore, and then we were seniors together. And I’ve been dealing to the basketball jocks for years, so I saw him around at parties and shit. And he was… very different than he is now.”
“You don’t have to tell me that Steve was an asshole. I know that.” Robin eyed Eddie, confused on what this had to do with all the flirting. Was Eddie just irresistibly into people who did hardcore self-improvement? “He knows that too, by the way.”
“I guess,” Eddie said. “I mean, he seems to. But that kind of evolution? It’s basically unbelievable, right. Like, if I wrote some DnD campaign where someone started out as a villain like that and turned into the hero, no one would buy it.”
Robin was taken aback.
Hold up. This wasn’t lovestruck gushing. The only person allowed to insult Steve like that was Robin. Maybe Dustin on a good day.
“He wasn’t a villain,” Robin said heatedly. “He was an asshole and an idiot, but he was no worse than every other jock who goes to our school and he was a hell of a lot better than a lot of them, even then.”
Eddie’s face turned dark. “You didn’t hear the shit he said.”
No, she hadn’t. She’d overheard sometimes, when he’d called some kid or another a freak or a nerd, but she’d had no reason to hang around Steve back when they’d both been in high school. She was thankful for that sometimes. She knew Steve was different now and that he regretted the things he’d said and done in the past. But it was easier to forgive him when she didn’t know exactly what he was guilty of.
“He can’t have been worse than Billy Hargrove. Or Jason Carver.”
Eddie scoffed. “Yeah, cause being better than Billy Hargrove or the guy who convinced the whole town I was in a satanic cult and then tried to murder me is a real selling point. What a high bar.”
He leaned in closer to her. “He was a bully, Robin. He made life awful for kids like me. Like those kids in there.” He jabbed a finger at the kitchen, where Steve was teaching The Party how to cook. “The nerds, the geeks, the outcasts, the queers. And I guess you and I and those kids are proof that he doesn’t care about the bullshit high school social hierarchy anymore. But there are some things people still hold against you out here in the real world.”
Robin scoffed. “So you’re trying to prove that Steve — Steve who fights monsters from another dimension off with a baseball bat and babysits a bunch of fifteen-year-old nerds — is still the guy you knew?” Robin fought to keep her volume down when she wanted to scream. “Cause Steve is the best person I know. He’s brave and selfless and so fucking kind, like good from the bottom of his soul, and he’s a little vain and a little slow but he isn’t anything worse than that. And fuck you for thinking that kind of thing about my best friend.”
Eddie shook his head slowly. “I’m not denying he’s good to you, Robin. But in this little group, our fucking lives depend on each other. So excuse me for trying to find out if he’s good to people like me.”
Robin only had time to blink before Eddie continued.
“I know flirting with him is insane and maybe a little suicidal. But I just want to know how far I can push him before he snaps. If he’s gonna say some shit or hit someone for acting queer, I’d rather it be me than W- one of those kids. And I’d rather know before I’m trusting him to have my back in a fight against a monster that preys on our fucking fears and traumas.”
Robin stared at Eddie for a long moment. She couldn’t believe that she and Steve had both been wrong. Eddie hadn’t been genuinely flirting with Steve, but he also hadn’t been using Steve as a safe option. Hell, Steve had been so far off it would have been laughable if it wasn’t so sad.
Robin remembered when she’d come out to Steve, stinking of vomit and high out of her mind and just as afraid as she’d been in the secret Russian bunker.
She understood why Eddie was afraid. She probably would have been too, if she didn’t know Steve like she did. If the drugs hadn’t loosened her tongue and allowed her to tell Steve a secret she’d never shared with anyone else.
There was only one thing she could think to do.
“Steve!” Robin called.
A moment later Steve came running through the doorway, a kitchen knife in his hand. He visibly relaxed when he saw that Robin and Eddie were just sitting on the couch and not being attacked by monsters from the Upside Down.
“Robin! How many times have we talked about this? If you just scream for me, I’m going to assume something is trying to eat you.”
Robin snorted. “You say that, but you called me in a panic when you ran out of hairspray before a date and you started with the words ‘Robin, this is an emergency. I need your help.’”
Steve dragged a hand over his mouth. “I- okay, I did. But-“
“Anyway,” Robin cut him off. “I wanted to tell you earlier, but all your little ducklings were crowded around you learning how to use a stove.”
“Tell me what?” Steve asked.
Robin grinned. She pulled a little slip of paper from her pocket and waved it out towards Steve. “Vickie’s digits.”
Steve’s eyebrows shot up in a slightly offensive look of shock. “Holy shit, Robin, you actually managed to get her number?”
He shot a glance at Eddie, probably wondering why Robin was choosing to have this conversation in front of Eddie Munson.
Robin ignored the look and smirked. “Vickie was complaining about how she hasn’t seen a movie in ages, since the mall burned down. I told her that I work at the video store and that my very platonic best friend has a giant tv we could borrow if she wanted the full experience. And that we could make popcorn and eat candy and do all the things teenagers are supposed to do in movie theaters. And she said ‘everything?” all suggestive and I almost died! And I told her everything, so I need to steal your house and I need you not to be in it.”
Steve sputtered. “You totally stole my line. Oh my god. You said you didn’t want my dating advice, and then you stole my exact pickup line! And my house!”
Robin rolled her eyes. “What’s yours is mine, Dingus. Even your cheesy pickup lines.”
Steve grinned, looking proud.
Robin beamed back at him. She loved that she could go to Steve, that he was her biggest cheerleader when it came to her love life. That he had never once, from the moment he had learned she was gay, made her feel strange or freakish or different for liking girls. She’d tested him, maybe, a little. In the beginning. When she’d started with innocuous little comments about Molly Ringwald looking generally pretty in the Breakfast Club or the cute girl at Family Video having a nice smile. Steve hadn’t blinked, which had given her the courage to say more, to comment on actress’s collarbones or chests or thighs, to talk about her crushes growing up, to call dibs on customers and be pleasantly surprised when Steve refused to flirt with the girls Robin had chosen, even if they were hopelessly straight and even if they flirted with him first.
Robin had never trusted anyone the way she trusted Steve, with every part of herself, knowing that there was nothing she could show him that would make him love her less.
Eddie was staring between them, dark eyes wide in shock and disbelief.
“Wait,” Eddie said, waving his arms wildly. He pointed at Robin. “You are a lesbian?”
Robin nodded. “Yep! 100% all into the ladies.”
She knew Eddie was safe. There had been rumors about him being gay for years and she’d just watched him spend the past several weeks flirting with Steve Harrington of all people. He’d all but just told her he was queer. But it was still terrifying. She’d only ever told Steve, and she’d been high on Russian truth serum then.
Robin’s heart was pounding so hard she could hear it in her ears. Her hands were trembling.
Steve, bless his head of beautiful hair, realized at that moment that Eddie hadn’t already known about Robin. He walked closer very quickly, putting himself between Robin and Eddie as best as he could while he was standing and they were both sitting on the couch.
It was a sweet gesture, especially from a man who had lost every fight he’d ever been in.
“And you,” Eddie said, swinging to point his finger at Steve, jabbing it into his stomach, “knew about this?”
Robin could only see the side of Steve’s face, but he was watching Eddie with a hard look. “If you have a problem, you and I can take this outside.”
Eddie’s jaw dropped. He looked from Steve, to Robin, then back to Steve.
Steve didn’t move.
“Holy shit,” Eddie said, more to himself than anything.
Steve tensed.
“I don’t have a problem,” Eddie said, leaning back against the couch in an artful slouch. He turned to look at Robin, trying to hide his wide-eyed surprise behind a casual look. “Damn Robin, good for you, finding love in the apocalypse. While the rest of us suffer the woes of portals to hell and the perils of monster attacks, you’ve actually gone and found yourself true love.”
Robin smiled. “Or a movie date. You know. One of the two.”
Steve was looking between the two of them, his brow furrowed in that adorable look of confusion that he got sometimes.
“I don’t understand anything that just happened here,” he said.
Robin snorted. She was about to tell Steve that he should mind his business when Eddie said, still in that fake-casual tone, “I’m gay.”
Steve blinked, his eyebrows raising slightly. He looked taken aback. “Um, yeah.” He glanced at Robin, then back to Eddie. “I know I’m not the sharpest bulb in the box, but I’m really good at reading people. Especially when they’re flirting. Flirting is my specialty. You were really obvious, man.”
Eddie’s dark eyes were wide as he watched Steve.
Steve pushed his hair back nervously. “Was I not supposed to know that?”
Slowly, a grin grew on Eddie’s face. “No, that makes sense. I was just making sure we were on the same page.”
Steve started frowning again. “About…? Oh. Wait. Is this- are you trying to ask me out? Because, I’m flattered dude, but I’m not- I mean. I like girls. A girl. Who doesn’t like me back, but, you know, the heart wants what it wants and all that shit.”
Eddie shot Robin an incredulous look. She gave him a close-lipped smile and a nod.
Yeah, dude. Her best friend was awesome.
“No, Steve,” Eddie said. “I’m not trying to ask you out. The last person I wanted to date got murdered by a super-powered psychopath right in front of me and it was quite traumatizing, so I think I’m taking a break from all that dating-slash-falling-in-love stuff for a while.”
Steve’s face scrunched up as he thought for a long moment. “Patrick?”
Robin snorted, feeling hopelessly fond.
Eddie looked stupefied. “Chrissy, Steve. Remember Chrissy? Who was beautiful and sweet and not actually trying to murder me for starting a cult?”
“But… Chrissy’s a girl?”
“I like both, man,” Eddie said.
“Oh,” Steve said. Then a second later, “That’s a thing?”
Eddie laughed. He had a look in his eye, like he still couldn’t quite believe Steve was taking this so well but he was grateful for every second of it.
“Like Bowie,” Robin tried to explain. “He likes both.”
Eddie snapped his fingers and pointed at Robin. “Exactly. Bowie’s metal as fuck.”
Steve looked like he was about to say something when Dustin’s voice came from the kitchen “Steve! Come tell Mike he’s doing it wrong!”
“I’m not doing it wrong! The pasta’s supposed to look like that.”
“No pasta is ever supposed to look like that,” Erica’s voice sounded loudly over the rest. “What? Just the facts!”
“My mom’s pasta looks like that.” That was Will.
Then Dustin again. “Thanks for proving my point, dude. Steve!”
Steve was smiling softly as the kids all roared for his approval.
“Go help your kids, Dingus,” Robin said. “And know that I’m not eating anything made by Mike or Dustin.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Steve said. “I’ll make you something else. Eddie?”
Eddie grinned. “Nah man, I’m with you. It’s our job to eat whatever the little shits made and pretend it’s good, right?”
Steve grimaced. “Yeah.”
He left, muttering about being the goddamn babysitter under his breath.
Robin turned to Eddie, eyebrows up, expectant.
“Alright, fine! I believe I owe the Lady my apologies,” Eddie said. “I didn’t mean to malign your best friend’s honor and besmirch his good name.”

Secret Sinners: Part of the Head Filled With Demons AU (Steddie X You)
Tumblr media
Continuation of this here
A/N: I bare you a gift :) I'm putting it in the Head Filled with Demon's Masterlist because I don't anticipate this being too long but definitely more to come!
Warnings: Demon Soft Dom Steddie and Sub Fem Human Reader, SMUT, light choking, dirty talk, threesome (of course), FLUFF, the love each other, an old friend comes to visit, ANGST, brief mentions of homophobic behavior within our realm and theirs, Stevie is insecure about his relationship with Eddie (mentions fears of losing him), brief talk about grief and deaths of the readers parents, these three get into a bit of a fight (more of a disagreement). I think that's all.
I would highly recommend reading the previous series before starting this one if you haven't already. It explains about the AU they are in and other things.
Word Count: 5871
"Just a couple secret sinners...Yeah, she's just what he eats for dinner."
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“No but I trust you two.”, you giggle.
Since being released from their eternity trapped in the stone, things between the three of you had been going exceptionally well. You had travelled a lot and shown them all the things they missed out on. So much had changed over the years so seeing the evolution of towns and cities they had been privy to during different time periods now had a new look.
There were a bunch of accommodations Eddie and Steve had to make now that they were free. The hardest one was finally being seen. When someone would address them, it would take them awhile to grasp that the person was speaking to them. Because they were still in your realm, they had to wear their masks almost 24/7 and you knew it killed them to not be themselves. This is why you suggested little things like tonight.
While camping in a remote countryside for the night, you recommended that they spread their wings and fly. Eddie thought it would be fun to show you what it was like so you agreed.
“Ok, you have to hold on to me tightly, honey.”
Wrapping your arms around Steve’s neck, you jump into his own and smile as his wings break free. Shifting your gaze towards the long-haired demon, your grin grew when you saw he had fully converted back to his demon form. Steve had done the same to a point so his skin wouldn’t hurt yours as you clung to him.
“Here we go.”
You squealed as you keened into his neck and wind abruptly rushed around you.
“You’re not going to see anything if you keep your eyes closed, sweetheart!”
Daring a peak, your heart skipped a beat when you saw how high you three were but became distracted when you noticed the smiles on both their faces. Just to be able to roam free was exciting in itself but to be themselves again with you was a new kind of euphoria that they would never take for granted.
Landing on a water tower, Steve placed you carefully on your feet before hovering in front of you.
“You should fully change like he did.”
Nodding, he takes your suggestion and you beam up at him as Eddie slowly descends beside his side.
“It’s still amazes me you aren’t afraid of us like this.”
“I mean, you still look like you just with rougher, dark skin, red eyes, wings, and horns.”
“Oh yeah, totally. Just those little differences.”, the long-haired demon teases.
“I’m sorry you guys can’t be yourselves all the time. I wish you could go home.”
Steve flies closer and caresses your cheek with his thumb.
“But then we wouldn’t be able to be with you.”
“Come on, pretty girl. Let’s head back so you can eat something.” Eddie changed a bit so he could take you in his arms. “Do you trust me?”
“No.”, you laugh as he smiles.
“That’s fair.” His grip on you tightens as he flies off, spinning in the air as he jets forward.
“Eddie, don’t scare her!”
“She’s fine! As long as she doesn’t throw up on me!”
***
You will never get used to the euphoria they make you feel when they make love to you and you’re completely ok with that. With every kiss, touch, and thrust of them inside you, your body comes to life and you feel like you would do anything for them. With your ex you thought you were in love, but these demons (your demons) showed you what being loved and being in love was really like. You couldn’t get enough.
Clinging to Eddie’s shoulders, you mewled as his breath warmed the shell of your ear and he pumped his hips harder, hitting your g-spot roughly.
“Yes, Edward. Just like that, baby.”
“Like that, princess? Fuck you feel so good.”
Steve, having had his release long ago, kissed along both your bodies from beside you, his hands finding purchase anywhere they could land.
Every time they were able to be themselves, the demon libido took over and you loved when it did. They could go for hours and at times when you were too worn out to continue they would play with each other.
Those first few months, you noticed Steve was still slightly afraid that Eddie would no longer need him intimately anymore but the long-haired demon squashed that notion any chance he could reminding his friend that they were now more than. Sometimes it would be something small like Eddie holding his hand or running his palm along the demon’s back as they sat there and watched you eat a meal. Other times it was a grand gesture like randomly cupping his cheeks and bringing his lips to his own or smacking his ass in front of room full of people making Steve blush while you two giggled.
Your fingers tangled in Eddie’s long wavy mane as you trembled beneath him, moaning his name as you came. His lips danced with your own while he fucked you through it and chased his own high. Growling and grunting, he soon followed, releasing his spend deep inside of you.
The cool night air hit your sweaty skin as he rolled to your side and adjusted the blanket to cover you up a bit more.
“Next place we stop at should be a hotel so you can shower and all that.”
“So I can shower?”, you laugh as you smile up at him. “Steve, now that you’re out in the world again, you get dirty to and can smell!”
Eddie quietly chuckles beside you as his fingers absently roamed along your body.
“Yeah, yeah. You know what I mean.”, he sasses as he turns onto his back and gazes up at the sky.
“During your war, did you guys sleep outside like this?”
“Yeah but our sky isn’t as pretty as yours.”, Eddie replies as he rolls onto his back as well. “We don’t have stars. Also, because of the battles and everything usually there was smoke in the air.”
“What was it like before cities and skyscrapers in my realm?”
“The first time we were summoned was around the late 1600s. At night while he slept, we looked out into the countryside and the grass was bright green, illuminating even in the dark. The way the trees moved when the wind blew was just gorgeous.”
“Sometime in the 1700s, we were near the water. I always thought the boats were fascinating. They reminded of stories my uncle would read to me when I was a kid. The sound of the waves crashing and smelling the salt of the ocean at night was amazing.”
“That sounds beautiful. I wish…I wish I could have…seen it all with…you.”, you mumble as your eyes start to get heavy with sleep.
They both smile as they watch you drift off. Now that they were no longer in the stone, they were able to sleep but it took some getting used to like everything else. They had always assumed it was part of their curse that they never got tired or slept while in stone. Those first few nights of freedom they tried to keep their eyes open and on you, fearing something may happen if they weren’t alert.
You assured them you were safe but always allowed them to do what they needed to feel comfortable. Normally they would just pull you close like a teddy bear which you definitely didn’t mind but more and more frequently they seemed content with just having any body part on you as they slept. Tonight, Eddie rolled on to his side and threw his arm over your stomach while Steve nuzzled into your side, pressing his nose to your cheek as he placed his own arm over the other demon’s.
##############
“Oh, wow. Steven, look at this.”, Eddie beckoned at the other demon as his eyes widened in amusement. “These guitars are exceptional.”
You grin as he took in all the instruments in front of him at the museum you were visiting. This had been your favorite part of traveling with them; seeing them take in and learn all the new things around them. Steve so far was completely flabbergasted with technology. Of course, they saw summoners use or utilize any device that was available at the time but for them it had been confined to the knowledge within the area they happened to be in. Add in the fact that they would go decades without being called, sometimes they missed evolutions entirely.
Eddie loved looking at and listening to music from any time. On your adventure, you three had stopped at a few bars where different types of bands would play and his eyes would light up like a kid listening to a story being read to them.
“That thing you do when you play, can you do it with any instrument or is it a specific guitar?”, you ask.
“Um, so far it’s any guitar. I’ve honestly never tried other stuff.”
Steve abruptly straightens up as his head swivels to look around him.
“What?”, the other demon inquires becoming more alert as well.
“Someone’s here who doesn’t belong.” He grabs your hand and the three of you run out into the parking lot as you fumble for your keys.
Abruptly, you feel arms wrap around your waist and you gasp as your hoisted into the air. You can’t see who or what is holding you but you know you’re flying as the wind slaps you face.
You scream as you’re let go of but are immediately caught by a winged Eddie as you both tumble to the ground.
“Sweetheart, fuck that hurt. Are you okay?!”
“Yeah…I…who…what happened?”
Hearing the growls, you both turn just as Steve rises to his feet after having tackled the creature that grabbed you to ground and pins it to the grassy earth below him.
“Jesus. Took you long enough!” The demon’s eyebrows knitted together in confusion as he lifted off the helmet blocking the person’s face and was met with a big grin. “You’ve gotten slower, old man.”
“Dustin? Holy shit.”
The boy laughed as he fell forward to hug him before helping him to his feet.
“Dustin?”
“Hey, Edward.” Their friend wrapped his arms around him, pulling him in for a hug before turning to you. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I had a good grip on you but I wasn’t prepared for the tackle landing. I’m Dustin.”
“Y/N. I’ve heard a lot about you.”, you smile but hesitate to shake his hand when you notice the demon skin.
“Oh, shit. Different world. Um, hang on.” Red light flashes as the young boy transforms in front of you to look more like the men beside him. “There we go.”
He beams proudly when you’re able to greet him and goes the extra mile of kissing the back of your hand.
“Alright, kid.”, Steve chastises as he pulls on the demon’s collar. “Last I checked you have a wife. This one is ours and speaking of…” Dustin flinches when his huge palm hits the back of his head. “You could have hurt her. You have to be more careful.”
“Hell, you’re lucky we didn’t kill you.”, Eddie scolded. “What are you doing here?”
“Does this realm have a bar. I have some news for you.”
#############
“God this is fucking delicious. What is it called?”, Dustin asks as he slams down his third empty glass. You learned from the boys that demons like them have a pretty high tolerance since the alcohol from their realm was a lot stronger than what you had here.
“Beer. Now, for the fourth time, WHY ARE YOU HERE?!”, Steve asks sternly making the young demon smile at you.
“They haven’t changed.”, he chuckles. “I’ve been looking for you two for a while now. Things have shifted back home. The king passed away.”
“Chrissy’s dad died?”, Eddie inquired as he leaned forward while you reached for his hand under the table.
“Yeah about 100 some odd years ago. Things got bad after you two disappeared.”, Dustin sighed. “Actually, it was after pretty boy prince vanished—”
“Henry?”
The boy’s eyes widen in amusement, seemingly impressed by your question.
“Yes, wow. Um, so Henry went missing a few years after you both and while they were hunting for you, people were hunting for him. During that time another war broke out as the two kings fought for power and dominion.”
“Who won?”
“Essentially, no one. Both sides lost so many people…including your father, Steven.”
Your worried eyes scanned him over as his gaze shifted to the void in front of him.
“What about Robin?”
“She’s safe; kicked a bunch of asses of course. Your uncle to, Ed. He helped watch out for the younger ones and trained them, kind of becoming like a surrogate dad.”
“Sounds about right.”, he grins.
“Our people came out on top and have actually been in relative peace for the last 200 years. Robin and I still manage the militia but we haven’t needed them. Henry’s dad gave up looking for him—”
“And they won’t find him anytime soon.”, Eddie adds; his fingers squeezing yours.
“BUT the boys and I did some research and found out what happened to you two…how you were trapped in that stone… when our soldiers came back empty handed it gave some truth to the narrative which also helped us to prove your innocence, Edward.”
Both Steve and Eddie’s eyes shot up towards the young demon as he smiled.
“Yeah, we were able to prove that you didn’t kill Chrissy and it was most likely Henry.”
“It was. He showed us how he did it to.”, you added.
“Before he died, the king pardoned you both and said that you could come home.”
Both their mouths dropped before the turned to you and noticed you were smiling.
“Wow…that’s amazing. You two really are free now.”, you murmured as you tried to keep your demeanor in check. “This is fantastic.”
“Hey, um, kid can you give us a moment.”
Nonchalantly, the boy shrugged as he got up to get a refill, completely unaware of the bomb he had just dropped amongst you three.
“You have to go back.”, you whispered.
“We…we can’t take you with us, Y/N. You would die as soon as you entered our realm.”
“Then you have to leave me—”
“No.”, Eddie growled. “No. I’ve had this situation come up enough when it comes to losing you except this time I actually have a fucking choice. My answer is no.”
“Ma-Maybe…this was inevitable. I mean… how long do your people live? I would grow old and die while you guys lived another few thousand years…”
As you glanced between them, you noticed their eyes were closed as they tried to keep their masks in control.
“We can find a way, Y/N.”, Steve seethed through gritted teeth.
“How? How, baby?”
“I don’t know!”, he bellowed in his deep demon voice that caused some patrons to turn.
“See? At least back home, you can be yourselves again. You won’t have to hide. You both have spent so many years running and hiding. Then you were imprisoned… you deserve to go home.”
“No. We deserve you, the woman that saved us.”, Eddie replied trying to keep his own voice in line. “And believe it or not, sweetheart, but there are other factors to consider besides us leaving you behind.”
“What do you mean?”
“Demons in our realm…wouldn’t exactly…understand us.” He gestured between himself and Steve as the other demon snapped his head towards the window doing everything he could not open his eyes to reveal the red beneath them.
“What? Why?”
“Pfft, does your kind?”, Eddie scoffed. “We’ve spent years hearing the hateful rhetoric in your world. Remember, we had a summoner kill his boyfriend’s father so they could be together. Add in the fact that, once again, I’m the fucking commoner fucking royalty.”
The growl that comes from Steve’s chest is almost too loud to ignore as red quickly flashes through the bar and he runs towards the door before flying into the sky not caring if anyone saw him. Eddie chuckled as he rose to his feet and tugged at your hand.
“Princess, can you lead me outside so we can follow him? I have a feeling this is going to be one of those fights and I wouldn’t want to draw any more attention.”
***
You two found Steve back near where you had camped the previous evening, completely transformed into his demon appearance as he paced and fumed.
“Fuck you!”, he screamed as soon Eddie’s feet touched the ground. “Is that how it would be when we got back?! Is that how you would see me?! As someone who’s above you?!”
“Excuse the fuck out of me for speaking the truth. You WERE above me, Steven. We may have been best friends but your rank and father’s position had you at a higher status.”
“So if we went home, things would go back to how they were?! We would just pretend then?!”
Dustin landed beside you with a beer in his hand, offering you some that you decline.
“Am I missing something?”, he whispers.
“Yes, Dustin! You missed many things over the eons we were locked up in isolation.”, Steve sassed. “Fun fact, Edward and I aren’t just friends anymore. Yup. We fuck each other and fell in love.”
“Huh.”, the boy muses as a takes a sip of his drink. “Well, shit.”
“But that doesn’t matter I guess because Edward is a fucking peasant and sooooo beneath me.”, he mocks causing Eddie to roll his eyes. “Cool. Well now I’m more excited than ever to go back. I have no family, no you, and no Y/N but I’ll be home!”
“You’re all in a…”, Dustin asks gesturing between the three of you and again he makes a tiny huh sound when you nod.
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t be with you, you asshole. I was explaining to Y/N why us being together would be fucking difficult. Do you think Chrissy and I just snuck around for fun?! I understand what it’s like in our realm to be in love with someone in a higher status and YOU know what it’s like with the other concern because of Robin. You know the hell she goes through! Went through…I don’t fucking know! To be honest, this fight seems pointless because even if we did go home we’d still have a mask on AND we wouldn’t have Y/N.”
“You wouldn’t fight for me, Edward?”
Steve’s tone pierced Eddie’s heart causing the demon to stomp forward and grab his cheeks.
“I fought with you and beside you for most of my life, Steven. Not only would I fight for you but I’d die for you to, you idiot.” His lips connect to his own before hugging him tightly to his chest. “I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
“You guys don’t have to come home. I’ve just been looking for you to tell you that you could. Of course, we miss you guys but your friends and family love you. We want you to be happy.”
Steve reaches out and ruffles the boy’s hair as the young man giggles.
“Now is there a place we can rest because I am exhausted!”
***
As you pretended to sleep in your comfy hotel room bed, you listened to the three of them talk on the mattress next to yours.
“I can’t believe you’re a dad now, man.”, Eddie chuckles as he looks over the pictures Dustin gave him.
“Yeah, four of them, and Suzie wants another one. She had a big family, you know.”, he grins as he points to one of the boys in the photo. “My oldest son, his full name is Steven Edward Henderson.”
“Aw, dude.”, Steve coos as he reaches out to hug him.
“Your uncle babysits them for me and he says they are just as wild as you were, Ed. He takes them outside to the forest sometimes to let them run and play. They love it. Since we found peace, everything has gotten so much clearer and cleaner. Less smoke and an angry red background to illuminate your evenings.”
“What about Robin? IS she happy.”
“Yeah. She misses you a lot and tells the kids stories of your adventures together.”
“Who took over after the king passed?”
“He passed the reigns to a cousin within the family. Someone he said Chrissy trusted.” Both demons nodded as a heavy sigh escaped their lips. “So, you love this girl, huh? She seems really sweet.”
“And strong. She’s been through a lot in her short human life but yeah…we love her.”
“She saved our lives.”, Steve added as they all looked over at you. “Got us out of that stone. She’s always been so selfless even now…willing to break her own heart by telling us to go home. I can’t do it, dude. I can’t abandon her here by herself after everything she’s done. I feel like…she’s apart of us.”
“Like if we lost her, we’d lose a piece of ourselves.”, Eddie explained making Dustin smile.
“That’s how I feel about Suzie.”
################
You lean against a tree as you gaze out at their realm. It really was gorgeous compared to the visions they had provided you with their memories of their time there. The sky still had a twinge of red but a dark blue hue was beginning to take over. The town below you seemed more put together and modern without the need to modify it so no one could storm in.
Even the castle to your right had been updated and had less damage than previously seen. The door opened for you and without prompting, you wondered in, marveling at the décor. Entering a bedroom, you knew whose it was immediately as you had seen it many times before. This time, however, there was no body or blood on the floor. The room was neat and tidy with pictures everywhere.
On the vanity mirror were photos of Chrissy, Steve, Eddie, and Robin making funny faces with a lake behind them. Another was her and her father dancing in formal dress at what you assumed was a ball. On her bed was a box you slowly moved toward, opening the lid to find pictures of her and Eddie kept hidden for the royal’s eyes.
There were many photos of kisses exchanged, dates that were had, and hope for a future that never came.
“I wish I had put those up.” You quickly turned at the sound of Chrissy’s voice as she softly smiled at you. “He deserved to be seen.”
“I’m…I’m sorry for what happened to you…to both of you.”
“Honey, you cleared his name and captured Henry. You have absolutely nothing to be sorry for. I’d actually like to help if I can.” She takes your hand and guides you towards the bed to sit beside you. “I’ve seen you with Eddie and Steve. I’ve never seen them as happy as they are now. It broke my heart watching them suffer for so long.”
Her beautiful, big eyes met yours.
“You’ve suffered to, haven’t you?”
“It’s alright—”
“No, it’s not. You three deserve to stay happy for as long as possible. Let me ask you something, Y/N. What do you know about demon slayers?”
Your eyes shot open as you gasped loudly, startling both demons from their sleep.
“What?! What’s happening?!”
“Ed…Eddie…Chrissy…”
“Hey, hey, whoa, pretty girl. Breathe. Talk when you’re ready.”
As you calmed down, you told them about your dream and what Chrissy had told you.
“I don’t get it. Do we need to die?”
“Steven, how did you get that out of what she just said?”, Eddie scolded.
“What else do demon slayers do, Edward?”
“Didn’t your ex leave you for one?”, Dustin grumbled as he rubbed his eyes. “Maybe they would know.”
“What are you talking about? Demon slayers are human. He would have died long ago.”
“Yeah but he didn’t. Michael just visited them to celebrate their anniversary.”
Eddie fully sat up as he turned to face the young demon across from him.
“AND YOU DIDN’T THINK THAT WAS ODD??”
“Geez, no, I didn’t. I have my own family to worry about on top of finding you two dickheads.”
Your demon’s exchanged a glance as the long-haired one rose to his feet and grabbed the boy’s arm.
“You lost bed privileges. Go sleep… anywhere else.”
“Hey! Wha—”
He cut the boy off as he slammed the hotel door shut.
“Eddie, you didn’t have to—”
“Punishments are worse where we come from. He can sleep in the car.”, he growls as he runs his palms over his eyes. “What are you thinking, Steve?”
“I wouldn’t even know where to begin to look.” His current honey brown eyes flick towards you as he takes note of your facial expression. “Goddamn it. Are we still having this discussion, Y/N. We are NOT going home.”
“I didn’t say anything!”
“Yeah but I can see it on your face. You think it would be easier for us to just let you go and go home.”
“I heard Dustin talk about what your home is like now. Maybe you two could be happy there.”
His large hand suddenly reached out to grab your throat as he pushed you back down flat against the mattress.
“Listen up, little girl, because we are only going to say this one more time. Edward was right. The first time we thought we would lose you because Maeve was going to suck us back into that stone. The second time was because YOU made us believe that you would be taken in instead of us. This time WE get to make the choice and we are choosing to stay here with you. We are happier with you. We love you. We belong to you.”
Your breathing stuttered at his last sentence as his hand released its grip, gliding up to hold and caress your cheek with his thumb.
“And you belong to us, honey.”
Tilting your head slightly, your lips crash up to meet his. The bed jostled as Eddie climbed in beside you, his hand softly running up your thigh before lifting your leg over his hip. A shiver ran up your spine as the demon’s fingers trailed back down along your flesh and rested on the cotton that was blocking your core.
Steve’s lips detach from your own as he leans over, snaking his hand behind the other man’s head, and tugs him into a rough kiss that had your pussy clenching at the sight.
“I never saw you like that.”, he exhaled heavily. “I never thought of you as beneath me. Not as a commoner or peasant or whatever…even before… you’ve always just been Edward.”
Eddie rushed forward, bringing Steve’s mouth back to his as they passionately mingled together. Your own lips found its way down the metalhead’s neck making him groan while his fingers moved your panties to the side and began massaging circles against your clit.
They panted as they moved away from each other, Eddie sucking on your own neck as Steve lifted up your nightshirt enough for your breasts to come into view and his mouth to wrap around your nipple.
“Edward…please…”
Before he could acknowledge your pleas, Steve pushed him onto his back and hastily lifted off your shirt the rest of the way before doing the same with the other demon’s boxers.
Eddie moaned as a glob of spit landed on the tip of his cock as Steve stroked and smeared it along his shaft. You both watched him with lust fueled eyes as he took him into his awaiting mouth while his free hand reach over to play with your bundle of nerves.
“Fuck me.”
“H-His mouth always feels so fucking good, doesn’t it?”
“Fuck, yeah, it does. Wh-When we—mmm—when we were alone sometimes he would suck me off for what—shit—felt like hours.”
Continuing to pump him with his hand, Steve gives you his attention, shoving his face into your cunt. Your fingers intertwined with the demon next to you as the others long paranormal tongue lapped at your insides.
“Yes, Steven! Please.”
Eddie’s free palm reached across his bare chest, landing on your tit as his fingers pinched and played with the erect bud.
“I-I would cum so many times but I never wanted…never wanted him to stop. His mouth felt so good.”
Steve switched again driving you both wild as he built you two up. Eddie quickly sat up and brought the other demon’s lips to his, both whimpering as their tongues glided effortless against the other.
“I want to feel you, pretty boy. Come on. Make our beautiful girl cum hard, ok? She deserves it.”
Steve nodded, kissing along your skin as he climbed up the length of your body. Opening your legs wide, he lifts one of them over his shoulder, and his forehead falls on yours as he guides his cock into your entrance.
“Fuuuuck, baby girl. Still so fucking tight.”, he moans, smirking when your breathy laugh hits his face.
“I’m-I’m a little sore from last night.”
“Yeah? But you can take still take it, can’t you, honey? Mmm—you can still take all of me.”
“Yes.”, you pant as he begins slowly thrusting into you.
When you feel him pause, you shift your gaze to Eddie as he grabs the demon’s shoulder for leverage and gradually pushes into his ass. Biting your bottom lip, you watch as Steve struggles to control his appearance as he whimpers and groans at the feeling of you both.
“Does that feel good, Steven?”
“S-So good. Fuck.”, he purrs as his hips start to thrust again.
The demon behind him guides his motions, placing his palms on his waist as his moves him forward into you and back onto him.
“You can—mmm—you can change if you want to.”
Steve adamantly shakes his head.
“Too close. Hurt you.”, he manages to grunt out.
“You can hurt me a little.”, you tease making Eddie chuckle behind him as his face scrunches in pleasure. “I always want you guys to be yourselves as much as you can.”
A low growl rumbles from his chest as his pace quickens.
“It always fucking turns me on when you say stuff like that. That you aren’t afraid us.”
“I’m not, Steven.”
His jaw goes slack in a silent moan as he fully takes over pleasing you both. Tears fall from your eyes as he roughly but pleasantly hits that spot inside of you that has your eyes rolling closed while he pushes back hard against Eddie taking him deeper into his body.
“Shit…that’s it, Steven, baby.”, the metalhead grumbles through his teeth.
“You’d fuck us fully in our demon form?”
“Yes, of course. I love you both—mmm—for you. I don’t care what you look like. Fuck, M’gonna…”
Dropping your leg, his body fell flat on yours, rolling his hips as Eddie thrust to meet his movements. The sound of skin hitting skin echoed obscenely loud in the small room while all three of your moans mixed in. Your nails dug into his back as you held him tightly to you, shuddering as you came hard.
“Fuck! G-Good girl. Soaking my cock like that.”
The demon behind him grabbed his throat as he pressed his chest into his back, pounding into him till Steve trembled against you and painted your walls with his release. Eddie grunted, yanking them both upright on their knees, and as he fell out of you, the long-haired boy reached around to continue stroking his length, milking him till his own orgasm followed.
Falling to your side, they panted as Steve’s fingers lazily turned your cheek to face him.
“Are you…okay? I didn’t…cut you or hurt you…right?”
“I’m ok. You didn’t shift too much this time.”, you grin over at him as he smiles in return.
“Come on, princess.”, Eddie coos as he crawls over to you and lifts you in his arms. “Before you start to smell.”
He chuckles when you lightly smack his chest while he carries you to the tiny hotel bathroom.
“Oh, this will be fun. Just like our showers in the dorms, huh, Stevie?”
It was a tight fit but you didn’t mind. Any chance you got at being close to them made you content. You kept your arms snuggled around either one of them, tenderly kissing their lips occasionally before pressing your face into their chest.
“What would it be like? Sex with you fully in your demon form? The first night we were together, Steve said his dick was still him…”
After turning off the shower, Eddie guided you out of the shower and made you giggle as he shook a towel over your head.
“He wasn’t wrong. Um, you know how human’s use condoms? Think of it like that.”
“Also, believe it or not, we’ve been holding back somewhat with you.” Your eyes widen playfully at Steve’s comment. “Oh yeah. You’ve seen Edward and I together. I mean, you saw our house in the stone. It wasn’t solely destroyed all the time because of me if you know what I’m saying.”
Your laugh gradually fades as they watch you slide your sleep shirt back over your head and climb under the covers.
“What are you thinking about, sweetheart?”
“So…we’re really doing this? We’re going to look for a way for me to be with you two forever?”
They both crawl in beside you like they did every single night before.
“If that’s what you want, Y/N.”, Eddie answers as his fingers move some loose hair away from your cheek. “If you want to stay as you are, we’ll still be here, babe. Even when you’re old and gray, sitting on a rocker on your front porch.”
They smile when you laugh.
“Did you see that in my future when you first met me?”
“We can’t see the futures for summoners, just the past.”, Steve explains. “But we don’t need to have powers or anything to see that if that’s a future you want then we’ll make it happen. As long as you’re happy, honey.”
“My mom died my freshman year of high school. I spent so many years watching my father miss her. Before he died, in my dream, I saw him reconnect with her and that comforts me, you know?” You place your palm on Eddie’s heart as Steve wraps his arm around your waist and rests his chin on your bicep just below your shoulder. “I’ve seen what it did to you. I don’t want either of you to experience that pain. I want us…to have as much time…as we can get.”
Softly smiling, he leans down and tenderly kisses your lips, letting you go long enough for Steve to do the same.
“Then, yes, princess. We’re doing this.”

Library Trade Haul Roundup post!
I already talked about The Old Guard: Opening Fire, but onwards to the rest!
Hawkeye: Private Eye by Kelly Thompson, Leonardo Romero, and Jordie Bellaire. I already touched on some more general thoughts here, but to talk more specifically about this book, I thought that it was fun. I liked the private eye premise of it all. Coming into this primarily because I was interested primarily in seeing more of the creative team at work, I came away knowing Kate BIshop more (which I suppose is the purpose of a solo...). Anyway, this was in standard graphic novel size like the upcoming DC compact collection (or whatever it's called) so seeing the size of it and how it worked was also nice.
Pretty Deadly vol 2 and Pretty Deadly: The Rat by Kelly Sue Deconnick, Emma Rios, and Jordie Bellaire. I'd read Pretty Deadly volume 1 previously and I think I should have read it closer because I came out of it going 'I'm not entirely sure what the story of this was but it was a very pretty comic.' I do feel like I understand what happened in these two better. Pretty deadly continues to be a very pretty comic. It has a lush quality to it that's always a pleasure to read.
X-Men Red vol 1 and 2 written by Al Ewing with an artistic team that changes enough I won't list them out. These were grabbed off the shelf because they looked cool and as the first X-men comic I read it was a wild ride. My previous exposure to the X-men was watching X-men: Evolution as a kid and this was not that. I'm over here like "krakoa? resurrection protocols? Why isn't Xavier in a wheelchair?" This series features x-men are on Mars which is named the dune-esque name of Arako and is also habitable now for some reason. Anyway, these kicked ass and each volume had multiple 'oh shit' level moments and it got me interested in checking out just what is going on in more current X-men comics.
The Authority Book 1 by Warren Ellis, Bryan Hitch, and Laura Martin. This is a book for people who enjoy watching extraordinarily competent and powerful people kick ass and save the world from various huge threats and I am that target audience. Jenny Sparks is very cool and I met her just in time to watch her die :( This was my first entry into Wildstorm and it's got me interested in reading more and checking out Stormwatch (and reading more of Jenny).
Captain America: Red Menace Ultimate Collection by Ed Brubaker, penciled by Mike Perkins and Steve Epting, and colored by Frank D'Armata. I am continuing my Captain America by Ed Brubaker read at last (needed to wait until I could check this physically out of the library.) I care less about Sin as an antagonist but Steve and Bucky coming together in the finale was so good. Slipping back together into partnership like nothing had changed but Bucky can't stay when it's done ;; Next up are the civil war tie in issues.

Trick or Treat Letter 2024
Thank you SO MUCH for writing for me. I know I’m going to love whatever you come up with! I truly appreciate  the time and effort you are going to put into this. PLEASE do not stress over it; I am really very easy to please and just looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I’ve jotted down some basic prompts here, follow them or don’t--the choice is yours!
Competency is absolutely my greatest kink. I also have a decent-sized hair kink and love hair-touching/stroking/brushing, etc, as well as any kind of safe touch. I like friendship in love, equal partnerships, ass-kicking females, friends to lovers, grudging respect that becomes not so grudging, fluff and cuteness, light angst, caretaking, cuddling and tender kissing, blanket/bed-sharing in a totally platonic way, all the non-sexual intimacy and tenderness, late-night talks, letters. Tenderly-described safe touch makes me squee. I don’t mind sex so long as it’s consensual between adults, well-written, driven by emotions, and true to character. My favorite AUs are coffee shop and library.
General Likes: Fluff, angst with a happy or happy-for-now ending, humor, hurt/comfort with comfort emphasis, team bonding, mission fic, casefic, slice of life, missions gone bad, bad missions gone good in unexpected ways. Snowed in, locked in a closet, days off that turn into work days due to unforeseen circumstances, Undercover as a couple, enemies to friends to more, fake dating with sparks flying.
I adore setting detail and good descriptive writing. Fall is absolutely my favorite season--so perfect for walks, crisp air, toasted marshmallows, apple orchard trips, cider and donuts, colorful leaves that crunch underfoot, hay rides, warm drinks, cozy sweaters, knitting, lazy weekends, bonfires (or fires in fireplaces) new pens and notebooks, etc. I also love holidays and celebrations--all of them equally, so whatever feels natural to you and the characters is great. Cultural descriptions and events are fabulous, as well as setting, time period, and seasonal details.

911:
This show is new to me–a friend introduced me last spring and now I’m completely obsessed. I adore all of the great representation in this show, but also the character growth. Maddie and Buck have such a special relationship, and I have loved seeing Buck come into his own as a character, as well as Bobby’s arc, Eddie’s arc, the evolution of Tommy…I could go on forever here. I really love the seasonal episodes, but any 118 shenanigans would be absolutely fantastic. What lengths does Buck go to in order to make sure he never has to hand out smoke detectors on Halloween ever again? Is there a 118 family Halloween party with a crazy costume contest? Do they sponsor some kind of community event with apple bobbing, carnival games, and such? Give me all the superstitions, good- or bad- luck charms, weird calls, the haunting of Firehouse 118, the return of Chim’s crow, Eddie not being superstitious except when he is… You really can’t go wrong for me in this fandom.
Schitt's Creek:
One of my all-time comfort shows no matter how many times I go back through it. “Grad Night” is the episode I go back to when I’m feeling down because I love the chemistry between these three in particular. I love Steve’s sass and how David and Patrick play off each other and bring out the best in each other. Give me all the seasonal dirt on Rose Apothecary–fun classes, gift boxes that have to be tested, dithering about what kind of treats to hand out, floor picnics by a cheap and tacky fake fireplace that someone appropriated from Roland and Jocelyn, that time the heat goes out at home and they cuddle for warmth. The shop needs weatherproofing and Patrick decides he can do it all with the help of YouTube and David freaks out. What kind of Halloween gifts/specials run at Rose Apothecary, Stevie making sure that David and Patrick make the most of their first Halloween as a married couple. Give them a cute couples’ costume, run wild with hauntings at the motel or the shop or at David’s and Patrick’s house, the town’s costume parade or pumpkin carving contest getting crazy competitive or wildly out of hand, or one of Twyla’s murder mystery parties having an actual murder.
NCIS: LA
I’m HERE for all the banter and the cases and the little team celebrations at the end of each episode. I love the brotherly relationship between Sam and Callen and Hetty’s general badassery. How does the team celebrate Halloween? Is there a case that takes them to a “haunted” house or creepy carnival? A serial offender who leaves tarot cards or creepy dolls as their signature? Are there pranks or pranks gone too far, and what is the fallout from that? There HAVE to be ghosts in the mission or the boatshed, right? A paperwork day that gets interrupted by strange happenings? Movie night or game night on the big screen in Ops? Fun or off-the-wall training scenarios where Hetty kicks everyone’s collective ass and then drinks them all under the table after? A routine case involving a “curse” that gets screwed up six ways to Sunday until Callen saves everyone with a surprise bolthole or secret stash of whatever object they might need? Give me the caretaking and team bonding during and after a mission, and banter.  All the banter.

Hi! It’s me the steddie kid and Corroded Coffin anon! I love argyle as their manager! I also think that one day Erica becomes their lawyer cause I just know she’d kill in entertainment law. As she grows up and matures she gets better at holding her tongue and reigning it in, but can still be all business with the band and shut off friend mode. Max takes a job because she has no idea what she wants to do and always says “this is just temporary as soon as I get a better offer I’m leaving” but she starts training under their tour manager and takes over when he retires. She still tells Eddie that “the finishing touches are almost done on my two weeks” but then she launches into their next tour schedule. Robin is featured on some songs because she can play like the most obscure instruments and Eddie loves incorporating them in his songs. Dustin, mike, and Lucas all help with AV equipment while in college for experience.
Steve, however, has never “officially” worked with the band. He and Eddie discussed it early on and Steve really wanted Eddie to have something for himself, and he knew he wanted to do something with kids. He becomes a guidance counselor and loves getting to help more kids discover who they are and get them out of the existential crisis he faced when he graduated. Corroded Coffin mainly tours in summer whenever possible so Steve can travel around, not because he doesn’t trust Eddie to be faithful but because they’re so codependent and his family is all there so that’s the only place he’d want to be. When they have a baby he brings them too when they’re little before they start having more summer activities. Steve plays the piano around the house all the time when he’s bored and Eddie will hear a melody he comes up with and they write something together so in a way Steve is involved with the band. Also Eddie absolutely dedicates the songs they write together to his baby and love of his life. He also throws in covers of the cheesiest love songs for Steve.
Anon you are back!!! THANK YOU for gracing me with your thoughts 🙏🙏🙏
LOVE the Erika thing because she is an absolute powerhouse and takes no shit. Corroded coffin are out here getting all their riders, rights to all their own songs, copyright claims from others thrown out of court before they even start, and she LOVES it and the whole band and team love her. They know it’s going to be a fun time if Erika shows up to any meetings with execs. Side note but if you’ve ever seen school of rock Erika would be the evolution of summer. There would be no holding her back and eventually people would be trying to poach her from the band and the exact same for Max!
Max actually has a big part to play in making sure none of the band get too wasted or high. She keeps an eye on all of them and knows when enough is enough. She’s firm and they respect her. She’s saved certain band members from going down a slippery slope countless times. They adore her and would be lost without her.
STEVE AND THE BABY WEARING THOSE EAR PROTECTOR HEADPHONES. STEVE GRABBING THE BABYS ARM AND WAVING IT AT EDDIE. Eddie fumbling the next note because he’s too busy smiling :(((( counsellor Steve always wears corroded coffin merch on Fridays as his ‘dress down Friday’ look. The first time students see it they are utterly shocked, Steve explains that he’s just a really big fan. When he appears in a music video for the band made of tour diary footage every single one of his pupils are clamouring to call him out. Steve??? And the guy from the metal band with a bunch of piercings, spikes, crop tops and tattoos??? He tells them they live together but otherwise keeps his cards close to his chest. It’s in these small actions that he can keep Eddie to himself when he has to share him in so many ways. He loves what Eddie does, loves seeing him and his friends, THEIR friends in their element. But sometimes it’s nice to keep some things just for him and Eddie

Let's Call It Funny
Prompt: Hi! If you know about those gen z peter parker posts, could your write something based on that? With Steve Getting It (tm) because fatalistic nihilism in humor tended to show up during the world wars and we’re seeing a reflection of that now? Sorry- I just think it’d make great options for steve and peter bonding, and dad!tony but actual emotions (gasp!) You can totally ignore this if you want!
Don't ever apologize for giving me such a great ask
Read on Ao3 Part 2
Warnings: uhhh gen z humor
Pairings: none! all found family in this bitch
Word Count: 2529
Here’s the thing about humor. It’s not necessarily that one generation is any funnier than another, it’s just that high school kids are perpetually the funniest people alive. Something about being in a pressure cooker of an environment with a bunch of other people whose bodies are changing in new unpredictable ways whilst having very little say in how their lives go creates humor. Gasp of shock, right?
So basically what Peter’s trying to say is that he’s fucking hilarious.
Come on, not only does he have the default high schooler stuff, he’s also gay, which gives him an instant bonus. He’s trans, which opens up a whole new subset of humor for him to explore. He’s neurodivergent as fuck, and we all know that makes people funny as hell. And if that weren’t enough, he’s severely traumatized and he’s Spider-Man.
Peter Parker is funny as hell.
What is truly devastating—and really, it’s their loss—is that so few people seem to appreciate it.
Ned gets it. Ned’s not someone Peter would expect to not get it, just because hey, it’s Ned. They’ve met each other in the hallways and been like ‘hey! You’re still alive! Congrats on having a body!’ Only for the other one to go ‘hey! You’re alive too! I wish I had an intangible form!’
Because bodies are stupid and evolution really fucked us over but at least we’re not horses.
A solid 50% of their interactions are just quoting John Mulaney and Bo Burnham bits back and forth at each other. Peter’s never gonna forget the day they both had detention and had to watch that stupid Cap PSA—it’s propaganda, you Nazi fuckwits—and something reminded them of the ‘horse loose in a hospital’ bit and they just did it. Full out. Stood up and did the actions and everything. The rest of the room was either trying to do it with them—and failing, because they didn’t have nearly enough practice—or looking so confused. The security guard—Paul, he’s great—just looked at them blearily after they finished and went:
“I mean, you kids are right, but you’re not supposed to talk in detention.”
Well, excuse them for trying to make it more entertaining for everyone.
MJ gets it. If Peter’s being honest, he learned most of his humor from her. She is the master and it is an honor to study in her wake. He’s definitely hijacked the asking whether or not anything’s actually meaningful existentialism jokes and they’ve wormed their way into his day-to-day repertoire.
“Why are you late, Mr. Parker?”
“Time is a social construct, Mrs. B, none of us are ever late or early except in the subjective spacetime paths. The limits of our sensory perception make it so we can’t tell if anything is real, let alone whether or not they conform to some arbitrary definition of ‘time.’”
“…just sit down, Peter.”
See? It works.
Aunt May gets…worried.
Sure, they’ve actually talked about when Peter needs help and wants to reach out and when he’s just making jokes off the cuff because hey, humor’s a great coping mechanism or it’s just a joke and not that serious. Peter loves his Aunt May, so so so much, and the last thing he wants to do is really worry her. And she’s gotten pretty good at figuring out when he’s just joking and when he’s spiraling.
Sometimes, though…
“Peter,” Aunt May calls from the kitchen, “did you remember to stop by the store on your way home?”
Peter freezes halfway through the door.
“Peter?”
He swallows. “…no.”
“Why not?”
“Because I am too stressed and consumed by the swirling pit of blackness deep in my soul to remember my head is connected to my body, let alone remember to go to the store.”
Silence.
“…Aunt May?”
“Do you want to drop off your stuff and then go to the store?”
“…yeah, please.”
“Love you, Pete.”
“Love you!”
“Try to remember that you’ve got arms so you can pick stuff up.”
“Got it!”
See? It’s fine.
The Avengers don’t get it. Like, at all.
Natasha and Clint like, sorta get it? They make the same jokes all the time when they think Peter can’t hear them, which—come on, you guys are super spies, surely you know people are gonna hear you when they’re gonna hear you. Natasha will make a crack about something, Clint will laugh and shove her shoulder. It’s their dynamic, we get it. But when Peter does it…
“Hey, Baby Spider?”
Peter sticks his head up from the ceiling. “Yeah?”
“Where’re you crawling off to?”
“I’m gonna go hide in the garage.”
Natasha blinks up at him. “Why?”
“Because if I get crushed by the airlock doors then I won’t have to do my paper tomorrow.”
Silence. Natasha’s mask is too good for Peter to actually see what’s going on with her, let alone from this angle, but silence isn’t good.
“Nat—oof!”
Something blurs out of the vent nearby and tackles him down onto the couch.
“Clint!”
“Nope,” Clint mutters, wrapping Peter up in a hug as Natasha comes to join them. “You’re staying with us now, Pete.”
“Guys, I’m fine.”
“Peter,” Natasha says softly, “don’t joke about that, you’ll make us worry.”
“I don’t wanna do that,” Peter mumbles, “but it’s fine.”
“Coping mechanism, huh?”
“Yeah.”
“He’s got too many brain cells to do that,” Clint says, ruffling Peter’s hair.
“Stark has a lot of brain cells, you see what good that does him?”
“Hmm. Guess you’re gonna have to stay awhile, Pete.”
There are worse fates. Definitely.
Thor just kind of gets confused by it. He acts like Peter isn’t going to be absolutely fine because there’s no need to do anything like that. No, Peter, you don’t have to put the bleach in first into your cereal, there’s plenty of milk left over. No, Peter, you don’t have to throw yourself off the roof because your laptop is freezing, Stark has so many just lying around. No, Peter, you don’t have to pack a rucksack and run away to the Alps and live like a recluse, come here and get a hug.
Peter suspects Thor’s playing dumb on purpose. The man is smart as hell, there’s no way all of this is flying over his head. And honestly, it warms his heart a little bit when he sees Thor’s sincere, concerned look when he thinks Peter’s not looking.
Banner and Rhodey just kinda shake their heads and move on. They’re used to it. They live and work with some of the most dramatic fucking people in the goddamn universe, they’re used to a little bit of extra humor. Occasionally one of them will give him a look that says he’s pushing his luck, but that’s not often. Less often now ‘cause he knows what he can get away with. He’s also seen them hiding smiles behind their hands or poorly disguised coughs. They’re not as slick as they think they are.
Tony.
Tony is the fucking worst.
Peter can’t get away with so much as sighing too hard before Iron Dad™ is swooping in all soft words and concerned touches. Jesus. You’d think he’d get it, he uses humor as a coping mechanism too, goddamnit, why is he so worried about Peter?
Okay, fine, he knows why.
MJ’s over at the Tower, having another one of her ‘sketch people in crisis’ appointments with Natasha. Peter is coming off of a 32-hour caffeine rush and is violently wishing for death. Tony is in the kitchen doing…something.
“Hey, do you think bleach would make a good smoothie?”
Tony wheels around to see MJ pulling a glass out of the cupboard.
“Kid—“
“Sounds like a filling breakfast,” Peter groans, “can you make me one too?”
“…I’m legitimately concerned,” comes Tony’s mutter.
MJ ignores him. “Who’s the bitch on your forehead?”
Peter rubs absentmindedly at the massive knot on his head, courtesy of a wall that rudely decided to move at the last second while Peter was attempting to walk through a doorway. “He’s called DJ Braindeath and he’s my only friend in the world.”
“Peter—“
“Oh did you meet him at the furry convention?"
“Technically it’d be a buggie convention.”
“What the hell are you two talking about?”
“The pantry doesn’t have good coffee, I’m going to Starbucks.” MJ grabs her bag. “You want anything?”
“A will to live?”
“Peter, what the fuck—“
“Oof, I’ve only got like…20 bucks.”
Peter lets his head drop back to the counter. “Then just leave me here to die.”
“Can I have champagne at your funeral?”
“I’ll be dead, I won’t fucking care.”
“God, I wish that were me.”
Then MJ’s gone and Peter gets treated to a 20-minute conversation with a very concerned Tony Stark that he doesn’t remember most of because hey caffeine crashes aren’t fun.
He definitely does it on purpose sometimes just to wind Tony up. Like there’s this one incident with an interview he does as Spider-Man and he gets asked what he thinks about Tony Stark’s newest intern, Peter Parker.
“That boy’s an embarrassment, just…complete failure. Can’t speak without stuttering through every other word and self-esteem issues all over the place. Also looks like he got dressed in the dark.”
The reporter had awkwardly moved on to another question. The interview aired later that day while Peter was at the Tower. Tony sat next to him on the couch about halfway through.
“You look good, Pete.”
Peter had mumbled halfheartedly, only to hear the reporter ask the same question.
“See, that’s the problem with having a secret identity, you don’t…” Tony trailed off as he heard the answer.
Peter snorted as Spider-Man finished talking. “Say that to my face, you bitch, get a real job. At least I don’t look like someone vomited silly string all over my spandex.”
“Are you okay?”
See? Fun.
The only one he’s made a conscious effort to not be this funny around is Steve.
Because, okay, here’s the thing. Steve’s disappointed look has no effect on him anymore. He’s immune, motherfuckers, he’s had detention too many times for it to still work. Here’s the other thing: Steve doesn’t actually use that tone of voice that often. It’s this meticulously crafted image he plays up in interviews because it catches all the bad guys so off guard when Captain America is suddenly swearing a blue streak at them and telling them to go fuck themselves in, honestly, quite creative ways. The sincere Steve Rogers disappointment and concern still very much works. Also doesn’t help that Steve does caring so fucking well, like…who gave him the right to say a few things and hold Peter like he’s something precious and do the quick one-two punch of saying a super sincere compliment and following it up with ‘I love you.’ Who did that? It’s rude. Stop it.
And yeah, Steve’s the resident Mom at the Ready. It’s a risk to even sit on your bed looking sad ‘cause here he comes, wearing something snuggly and saying ‘hey’ in that stupid, stupid compassionate voice. So Peter knows he’s just gonna end up crying from too much soft if Steve actually gets concerned. Which won’t be fair because he’s gonna try and explain that he’s fine and it’s just his sense of humor while crying. Yeah, like that’s gonna be believable.
So he’s trying not to but damnit it’s hard.
Then he walks into the kitchen one day to see Steve struggling with the toaster.
It’s one of Tony’s new prototypes—which means that anyone struggling with it is so fair—and from the looks of it, it’s managed to not only burn the bread to a crisp, but also mangle the slices beyond recognizable shape.
Peter’s not paying that much attention. He’s on his phone, heading towards his spot in the corner with the beanbag chairs and definitely doesn’t recognize Steve as he goes.
He only plops down and hears someone declare, in a completely deadpan voice: “There is no point to existing at all.”
“Oh, mood.”
He doesn’t think much of it. He doesn’t even know who said that, that’s how hyper-focused he is right now. He hears the others come in and feels Clint plonk down next to him.
“Hey, Pete.”
“Sah, dude.”
“Just vibing. Did I do it right?”
“Yeah, man you’re going great.”
“You teach Thor ‘yeet’ yet?”
“We’re getting there.”
“Steve,” he hears Tony call from the kitchen, “what the fuck did you do?”
“Language.”
“Don’t fucking talk to me about language when you’re making toast that looks like a goddamn welder’s table, what is that?”
“Your prototype’s work, I imagine.”
“How did you even—“
Clint chuckles next to him as the two of them start fondly bickering. Peter’s too busy speedrunning the five stages of grief in his head.
Did…did Steve say the thing about there being no point to existence at all?
No…no way.
He must be imagining things.
Then, of course, there’s a chime on his phone.
Ned: Did u do the bio hw?
There was bio homework?
Ned: yeah, due at noon
“I now know why God abandoned this timeline and when will death come to take me?”
The room goes silent.
Shit.
“Peter,” Clint says, “it’s gonna be fine, you can do bio homework in your sleep—“
“Are you okay?” Ah, that’s Thor.
“Kid—“
And Nat, and Tony’s probably rushing over here as he speaks.
Then there’s another voice.
“We can only pray the reaper arrives early for his appointment with us, kid.”
Peter’s head snaps up.
Steve.
Steve fucking Rogers raises a coffee cup at him in salute and takes a sip. He makes a face.
“…that was definitely salt,” he mutters, before shrugging and downing the whole thing.
…what?
Peter’s still staring at him until he catches his gaze and winks.
Oh, fuck yes.
“Steven Grant Rogers,” Tony says, hands on his hips, “explain.”
Steve just gives him a look. “I grew up in the Great Depression, Tony, and I was in the army. You don’t think I have a fatalistic sense of humor?”
“Plus the fact that most of my generation is resorting to types of humor found when death and stress are so ever-present that you have to joke about it says something,” Peter adds, “doesn’t it?”
Steve raises his cup again. “See? He gets it.”
And just like that, the bond between Peter Parker and Steve Rogers was written, formed, and sealed in salt and existentialist depression.
“There’s two of you,” Tony mumbles, “oh my god, there’s two of you.”
“Oh, you just wait ’til Buck and Sam get back.”
Peter can’t fucking wait.

hello em i have a request. can u please rate mr harrington's looks/outfits i just feel like u have the best takes and i'd LOVE to know how you'd rank his choices 👀
this is the single greatest ask i’ve ever received. i will be ranking the outfits, not steve’s moral alignment or actions in each scene. in order of appearance:
The Introduction
Tumblr media
4/10
hair is tragic
steve copied this entire fit from a mannequin in the ralph lauren polo outlet store
would honestly be a 0/10 except for the obvious valiant effort being put forth by his lower half to resist the sexless curse of khaki pants. the devil (st costuming department) works hard but by god steve harrington (joe keery’s body) works harder
nice brown watch that certainly came from a department store
also gains points for being next to nancy’s anemic librarian fit, thus looking better by comparison
The Rich Bitch
Tumblr media
8/10
thank god he ditched the khakis
hair looks much less demonic
it’s a simple look but the sweatshirt rides up when he shotguns the beer
he also gets wet
solid 8 for sluttiness alone
The Whore
Tumblr media
10/10
wet
please note that his chest is waxed. keep this in mind.
The Heterosexual
Tumblr media
2/10
hair looks like he dipped his head in glue
bold choice with the grey pants. unfortunately that choice was wrong
matching outfits with your comphet girlfriend isn’t as cute as you think it is stevie
you only get points because despite that ungodly pastel stripe pattern the polo’s decently fitted and makes your arm look kinda nice
The Dickhead
Tumblr media
3/10
glue head pt. 2
at least the stripes aren’t pastel this time
The Cuck
Tumblr media
6/10
hair slightly less glue-y
yet another striped polo is peeking out unfortunately
but! it’s green and green looks good on him
finally wearing jeans like a normal fucking human instead of weird slacks
pivotal moment in steve’s fashion evolution from preppy male model to sexy morally upright king
his morals are stored in the denim
The Final Girl
Tumblr media
9/10
an outfit with a character arc to rival steve’s own
pretty fucking good hair if i do say so myself!!
it’s fluffy!
that shit looks like if you touched it it’d be soft... no glue here!
finally not copying from the goddamn l.l. bean catalog
iconic green slut sweatshirt? check! jacket and nikes? check! fucked-up gorgeous face and baseball bat full of rusty nails? check, baby!
looks good on its own OR with some blood on top
overall a very solid look
The Darling Little Drummer Boy
Tumblr media
7/10
babe no... please don’t go back to the khakis... they won’t treat you like jeans do...
not quite glue head but not his best
apparently steve owns a single green sweatshirt, a thousand striped polos, and one very precious christmas sweater
almost makes up for prep-related khaki crimes by being really fucking cute
The Simp
Tumblr media
8/10
glue head is DEAD
further evidence that steve harrington’s entire closet is just striped polos
this is his fifth unique striped polo
most of these points are for the sunglasses and the hair
actually all of these points are for the sunglasses and the hair
he’s finally let go of the fucking pastels thank jesus
and you can’t see it but he did wear jeans with this fit i just forgot to make sure they were pictured and it’s 4:15 am so i don’t feel like going back to remake this collage
cannot tell if this is a lighter blue version of the jacket he wore three times in s1 or if it IS the jacket he wore three times in s1 and the color grading is just that different
either way he loves jackets and i think that’s very sexy of him
The Intellectual
Tumblr media
9/10
i’ve been waiting for this one... turn it up!
literally invented vests
excellent hair
loses a point for unfortunately introducing steve’s SIXTH unique striped fucking polo
i can’t see the collar but i know it’s there i know you’re wearing another fucking polo steve you can’t hide from me
can’t decide if he looks gay or just really preppy but either way he’s got some repression going on
still a very solid look
The Oh No Oh God It Hurts I’m Looking Away I Can’t Watch This
Tumblr media
10/10
yes that middle picture is absolutely to show off the texture of his blazer and not at all me making sure that if i have to see his heartbroken little face then you all do too
anyways i Know that blazer cost at least $100 like i Know that shit’s expensive
excellent gorgeous soft-looking hair that someone ought to run their hands through but only people who haven’t dated him for a year while pining after someone else
emotional devastation... but make it unbelievably fucking sexy
stevie baby i know you’re a colorful guy but please wear more black
The Meathead Jock
Tumblr media
9/10
aw christ whatever happened to standards?
introduction of the blue nikes <3
god his hair looked fucking good here
could have gained that final point by using tube socks with blue and GREEN stripes to tie together the shoes and the gym uniform :/
shorts could be shorter but are an altogether appropriate and enjoyable length
fun sweatstain to customize the look <3
The (is there a word for victim of bullying?) Serious Athlete
Tumblr media
8/10
the yellow stripe was more fun
still cute though
The Sudsy Boy
Tumblr media
11/10
wet
suds indicate that he’s washing his hair, presumably with faberge organics. is this why he’s being bullied?
steve brings his faberge organics shampoo and conditioner and his farrah fawcett spray to school with him whenever he has basketball practice
steve either has shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray in his backpack at all times, or he has a separate gym bag that’s mostly haircare products
just need to make sure we all know that
excellent freckle showcase
his chest is still waxed. please, i beg, keep this in mind
one of his strongest looks
The Babysitter
Tumblr media
10/10
his most versatile look to date
a different jacket than the one(s) he’s worn before but it still has the same kind of collar. steve found a jacket he liked and bought it in at least three colors
the whole thing fits So fucking nicely! shirt, jacket, jeans... baby boy is TAILORED
return of the white nikes with the red check indicate that they are his fashion nikes, while the blue nikes with the white check are his sport nikes. interesting.
this fit lasts like 48 hours and steve simply looks sexier as time goes on which is a testament to its quality as well as his inherent power
every new accessory elevates his appearance. roses, nail bat, rubber gloves, blood, sweat, band-aids, bandana, goggles... each element complements the look in its own way!
an overall win
The Chauffeur
Tumblr media
8/10
we can’t really see the whole fit but he’s not wearing a striped polo so i’m calling it a win regardless of what’s on his bottom half
cannot give him a 10/10 though because he might be wearing khakis
red is such a nice color on him when it’s not just from his blood
i lied when i said he should wear more black he should wear more colors
that plain sweater absolutely cost $85 or more
hair looks very nice and soft
excellent look!
The Sailor Man
Tumblr media
9/10
very precious
absolutely the best hair i’ve ever seen
baby boy got highlights for his hot girl summer!
bright colors make his very red lips pop
shorts could be shorter
love the little accents! especially the white pockets and belt
excellent color coordination on steve’s part with the blue sneakers (notably different than his s2 blue basketball nikes) and the red bruising/blood
i hope you remembered that steve’s chest was waxed. as you can see his chest is now unwaxed. some change between s2 and s3 drove this decision, presumably either his breakup with nancy or the fact that he no longer showers in front of other guys at school. up to your interpretation
shock blanket at the very end is a nice touch so we don’t forget he’s traumatized
The Drowned Rat/The Man Overboard
Tumblr media
10/10
wet
shorts could be shorter
the decision to purchase and wear a hoodless raincoat is absolutely ridiculous and stupid
however it is also very steve harrington and i value self-expression
The Chick Magnet/The Flaming Homosexual
Tumblr media
100/10
what can i even say about this fit?
the absolute best pants he’s worn thus far. amazing fit, excellent classic wash. i say this as a former american eagle outfitters associate and the winner of my freshman year dorm’s “best at folding jeans” award
manages to make blue jeans with a half-blue denim vest work effortlessly
bold primary colors make him stand out without being too gaudy
excellent pairing of t-shirt with simple stripes and vest with simple color blocking to create a complex yet cohesive and flattering look
simple brown belt gives the look a put-together yet down-to-earth vibe
hair has only gotten better
still wearing that same brown watch that he’s had since the introduction
this man looks like he waxes his chest
this is steve in his final form
thank you for your time

Redesigned PPB All Starz from my BEYBLADE AU "Beyfantasy" in 2010.
My rule for this group is: if you put the old and the new pics beside each other and squint - you will see almost no difference! Not much has changed from their old designs, but I wanted to remodel their weapons since the former was a bit gaudy. Max's weapon was going for a more minimalist style so I tried to follow that format with the PPB All Starz. The weapons remodel demanded new poses so that was the fun part- I paid attention to silhouette and motion for those! The commentary for this group is pretty short since the changes are subtle.
Mage Emily The combination of: tennis, ice skating, mage, and fairy elements- was still the main aspect of her design.
Her dress giving the impression of flowy deep water is the same as in the old, but I decided to let her sport her glasses on her eyes this time. Her skirt was also changed to be more flowy.
Her slightly longer hairstyle was kept since it emphasizes more of her formality over playfulness.
Her racket has the four elements engraved on it to channel her spells- she relies on this tool since she's not of the magical Fae blood.
I had so much fun giving her a flowy pose while still keeping a similar silhouette with the old artwork. Mage Emily will always be one of my favorite designs in the Beyfantasy!
Shooter Michael I remember being proud of the pose I gave him in the old artwork, but it wouldn't work well with his new weapon design.
For his new artwork- I wanted to give him the silhouette of an eagle. Originally, he was supposed to have both gloves lit up and arms raised symmetrically with the beams looking like two wings on each side- but that made him look comedic.
I wanted to express him as a "handsome superstar actor" so I went with a more confident manly pose! I made sure that his artwork silhouette still has an eagle aspect to it!
I took this chance to show off the star design on his unlit glove with the other hand.
Not a lot of changes in design since his first art was already a good base. His old profile listed his weapon as "pellets" but I changed it to "beams" since he'd be firing attacks that look more like quick lasers than energy bullets. Just like Emily, he relies on his gloves technology in battle.
Forward Eddy I couldn't say much here since the goal was simply to "improve the old design" so it looks like an "evolution" rather than redesign.
I worked hard on designing the shoes before so I didn't want to change too much- but I ended up altering it a bit anyway.
While I liked his old pose, it made him look off-balanced so I went for a more natural yet confident pose in-motion! I focused on drawing his physique properly.
The ball and armguard definitely had to change. It's also difficult to explain how his weapon works- he uses the tip of the armguard to "charge" the ball with poison and the ball releases that poison when it's thrown. It's some high technology going on. Emily can probably explain it, but she'd rather not because it's a kingdom secret.
Brawler Steve Steve's artwork is the design that went through a lot of changes. I liked the idea for him before, but it most definitely needed to be fixed.
I remember that I crammed his artwork back then within 8 hours from start to finish. The funny thing is, I was also under a time crunch working on this new artwork- it took me 2 days to finish it so I was on my pc nonstop (history repeats itself.) I gave myself an entire month to contemplate on his design though so the redesign was taken more seriously and not exactly crammed as it sounds like.
The idea for Steve was a mix of a football player, and a masked wrestler. In the old design- the masked wrestler aesthetic was more apparent. For this one, I made the football player aesthetic be the dominant theme.
I scrapped the idea of floaty armor as his weapon and made use of his gear- helmet and pauldrons. They normally look plain, but ignite when he starts to charge up since his battle style consisted of tackles and dashes.
I started with a more typical football player running pose for him, but it looked to similar to Eddy’s so I changed it to something more suitable for a “brawler type.” His pose was supposed to express his aggressive style and his short temper, and serve as a parallel to Eddy’s.
Those are the designer's notes on the PPB All Starz Beyfantasy Remake! Their character descriptions were rewritten like the rest. This group was satisfying to redesign because it was an improvement of the old design than anything of a total overhaul. I had ideas for them I was proud of as a kid, but I was limited with my inexperience and narrow grasp of costume construction and design. It feels good seeing the glow up and polished designs! It’s like i redeemed myself. Thank you for reading ^-^

Nightmare-A Bucky Barnes x Reader story. Chapter 4
You stared out the window as Professor Xavier and the redhead, you learned her name was Jean, continued to talk with the rest of the group who had now gathered in the briefing room. Sure, you had read the paper on the X-gene, but to know that “mutants” really existed and that you might be one of them was hard to truly grasp. Even surrounded by the extraordinary people in the room.
‘You are like us Y/N’ you heard the professor's voice in your head. You turned and looked at him.
‘I’m not, I can’t read minds or speak to them like you are doing.’ you replied inside your mind, the rest of the room oblivious to the conversation you were having.
‘Perhaps not yet, but with training you could, you can already manipulate feelings, see memories…control their minds and actions’ he added after a pause. You froze and sucked in a breath. That was not something you wanted anyone to know. You had only just learned that was something you can do. You tried pushing your abilities towards him, a warning to back off, but nothing happened. On the other end, his mind was closed off to you. ‘It will take more than that to affect me.’ You frowned and wrapped your arms tightly around you, feeling vulnerable. He had seen into you so easily, knew the potential you had, could have, maybe with training. It was all so much to take in, should you leave? So soon after helping Bucky? Maybe it was for the best, he was safe, he had Steve and Sam, he wouldn’t need you anymore. You had done your job.
“Okay, roll this back so I understand,” Stark said, pulling your attention to him. “There are individuals with this X-gene, the next step in evolution, and they have just been hiding in plain sight this whole time, while the world has seen aliens, and gods, you all just sat quietly back and let us handle the dirty work?” You could tell Tony was more than annoyed. You didn’t blame him. They had all been through hell.
“We have quietly done our part to help where we could, we have had our own set of issues to handle. I run a school for gifted individuals to help them harness and control their gifts, many come broken, confused, abandoned by their families. People often fear what they can’t understand.” Charles replied. Tony rubbed the bridge of his nose.
“And you want Y/N to come join you at this school?” Steve asked.
“Yes, I think we could help her. Her abilities have already grown rapidly, and there is much potential there, but if she can’t learn to control it, it could end up controlling her. She needs to learn to defend herself.”
“How did you even know I was here?” You finally asked.
“I was able to feel you, your power, I have a…device…that helps me locate mutants, now here we are.” He replied, seeming so unbothered by all of this, like he had done this hundreds of times, just shown up to tell people they are different, but not alone. Not alone. There were others like you, there were answers to all of your questions.
“I’ll go with you,” you replied after a moment. The whole room turned and looked at you, some began to protest but you simply put a hand up, quieting them. “It’s my choice, I need to learn about this, about me and what I can do, you all will be fine without me for a little while. Natasha is more than skilled at interrogation and now Barnes is free from Hydra he is fit for field work. You will hardly notice I’m gone.” You told them, trying to reassure everyone. “I’ll need some time to pack my things. If you give me the address I can be there by the end of the week.” You said turning to Charles and Jean. They agreed and you excused yourself to start packing. Though when you got to your room, doubt creeped in. You paced your room for a bit going over everything in your head, wondering if you had made the right choice. Maybe some time away from everyone would be good. Your attachment to Bucky could start to cause problems for you, compromise you both in the field, compromise your sanity, but the thought of leaving him so soon after everything made your stomach feel hollow. As if summoned, Bucky was knocking on your open door.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” you asked him for probably the 100th time in the last few days.
“I think the question is how are you feeling?” he asked leaning in the door frame.
“I’m fine,” you said, putting on a fake smile, always trying to reassure everyone else. “I,uh,” you paused trying to think of something to say. “Just realized I have so much I need to pack up, not sure where to start.” He scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“You second guessing yourself?” he pushed himself off the door frame and fully entered your room, it feeling too small all of a sudden.
“No, I think this will be good, to learn more about myself, about this pow…mutation, inside of me. Besides, you guys don’t need me anymore,” you tried to joke. Bucky put his hands on your shoulders, you looked into those all to blue eyes and your heart beat a little faster as you breathed him in.
“We do need you,” he said quietly. I need you. “But we also understand. The team wants what’s best for you. Your friends want what’s best for you. We will all worry like hell. Just promise, you’ll come back to us. Come back to,” me he wanted to finish. You looked at him closely and you could feel it, that warm light you had caught a glimpse of in his mind earlier. Was that feeling for you? Was it something you had left behind in him? Projecting your own feelings into his. The thought made you sick and you backed away quickly and you could see the hurt in his eyes and he straightened himself up.
“Of course, I’ll come back, can’t leave Nat all the interrogation fun. Was there anything else you needed? I really should get to packing.”
“I didn’t get to properly thank you for what you did for me.” He said, rubbing the back of his neck, seeming almost anxious.
“You really don’t have to thank me James, you are my friend, I hope, and I would do anything to help a friend.” You told him kindly.
“I know this is probably poor timing now that you are leaving us, but perhaps before you go, I could take you to dinner, outside of the complex?” he asked and you could tell how nervous he was. The idea of being alone with him outside of the complex made your stomach flip. Was he asking you on a date? You shook the thought away.
“You really don’t have to,” you told him, not sure that it was a good idea to form a deeper attachment when you weren’t sure how long you would be gone.
“Please, Y/N, I would really like to take you to dinner. It’s the least I owe you for the months of companionship you have given me.” He took a step closer to you again.
“You won’t take no for an answer on this will you,” You could tell he was determined.
“Nope,” he said, his face forming a half smile. You studied him for a moment.
“Alright, tomorrow night?” you agreed. His face broke into a full smile and you couldn’t help but smile back at him. “I really do need to start packing though,” you said motioning over your shoulder.
“I’ll be by at six and we can head out?” he asked.
“Six is great,” you told him, nodding and ushering him towards your door.
“It’s a date,” he said with that charming smile of his, you nodded, not able to speak and watched him walk down the hall. You closed your door and it hit you, you had a date, a date with Bucky Barnes, you could help the dumb girly smile that spread across your face as you began to pack up your life.

Marvel Part 2
I was nervous about watching this set of films, because I know they are the least critically-acclaimed. I figured they would be a slog to get through, mostly filler between the big Avengers events. But I was surprised to find that these films were actually quite character-driven and plot-heavy, albeit relying on the previous events to make everything that much more satisfying. There’s definitely something to be said for knowing what’s going on when you watch a film, as opposed to passively being engaged in the spectacle (which I am often guilty of). I wouldn’t be so quick to write these movies off in the future.

Tumblr media
Thor: The Dark World – Alan Taylor, 2013
Bookending The Avengers with the first two Thor films made for an interesting viewing experience. As mentioned earlier, watching things in chronological order made the overarching plot much easier to follow. I liked seeing what happened with Loki immediately after the events of New York, and that was a nice reminder that not much time has passed between the first Thor and this one. People hate on this movie a lot, and even Ragnarok makes fun of it, but it’s really not that bad. Yes, it’s incredibly dramatic, but it’s also pretty darn exciting! There’s magic, there’s aliens, Chris Hemsworth does that cute Thor smile that melts hearts everywhere. It’s a grand old time. Phase 2 of Marvel is typically regarded as the worst of the bunch, but in my opinion these movies are still pretty darn enjoyable.
Tumblr media
Iron Man 3 – Shane Black, 2013
Speaking of movies that I thought I hated, there’s this. I only saw it one time and then let the popular opinions sway me into dissing this movie again and again. Turns out this is an introspective look at how being in a war zone will negatively affect even the most confident of civilians. Tony suffers from extreme anxiety after New York and has to confront who he is without his armor (literally and metaphorically). It’s so rare that we get to see superheroes get this stripped down, and it’s a nice reminder that Iron Man is really just a guy under all that bravado. My boyfriend thinks that the hatred of this film comes from the portrayal of the Mandarin and how that differs from the comic books, but I think the way they did it here is a really interesting take on a cookie-cutter villain. Don’t write this off so quickly.

Tumblr media
Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Joe and Anthony Russo, 2013
Aka the film where everyone fell in love with Sebastian Stan. No? Just me? What can I say, there’s something about guyliner that really gets me going. Seeing Cap get gritty and real after the optimism in his first outing makes it clear why the Russos were handed the keys to the MCU kingdom. This is a very well-constructed movie, deftly introducing new characters and story elements that feed into the greater plot without compromising what we already know and love. It sets the foundation for Steve and Natasha’s friendship going forward and helps fill in the blanks for what’s happening on Earth while there are galactic happenings in the other films. Plus the fight scenes in this film are truly epic. Steve’s takedown of the Hydra agents in the elevator is for sure one of the highlights. The ending does drag a little, but the rest of the film sets the tone for many of the other MCU entries going forward.

Tumblr media
Guardians of the Galaxy – James Gunn, 2014
And now, onto something completely different! This movie, much like Captain Marvel, does feel slightly out of place when watched in sequence with the others. But since it takes place in 2014, we have to watch it here. I can understand why this is the favorite of many Marvel fans. In many ways, it feels much more like a comic book than the others. It’s colorful, it’s chaotic, and being set against the backdrop of ‘80s pop music gives it a certain sense of nostalgia. You can’t help but dance along with Quill in the opening number, and it does wonders to endear him to the audience. The ragtag gang is always a fun dynamic to play with, even more so when they’re criminals. Oh, and Lee Pace is there, which means I will automatically like the movie more. The characters are edgy and unique, each with distinct personalities and quirks. Those do soften out a bit over the course of the movies, which is a shame as they all get lumped into one ensemble and become flatter for it. But there is no doubt that this is a very fun time.
Tumblr media
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – James Gunn, 2017
This movie was slightly disappointing, thought it was much more enjoyable right on the heels of the first one (as opposed to three years later in theaters). I don’t love the Guardians sense of humor, it tends to be a little bit too goofy and rely on cringing or making fun of others as opposed to real jokes. So for me, I didn’t have the best time here. The only thing of value to the overarching storyline is the evolution of Nebula as a character, and builds connection between the characters. Although much of that connection is built off-camera, between the two movies. There aren’t even any Infinity Stones in this movie. It feels too unnecessary to have a whole movie just about getting the characters where they need to be when we won’t see them again until Infinity War. Space escapades are fun and all, and Baby Groot is always a bonus. Okay, and the soundtrack is also excellent, and there were a few moments that genuinely did make me laugh. My problem is it makes the jump back to Earth very jarring, and I wish there was a way to smooth that out somehow.

Avengers: Age of Ultron – Joss Whedon, 2015
Ah, Age of Ultron. Another movie that seems to be widely disliked by the fans. I saw this at a midnight premiere as well, and I had a great time. I had a great time watching it now as well. Ultron’s creation is truly haunting, and his cold, calculating logic in destroying the human race feels almost reasonable. If you’ve been paying attention, then Ultron no longer seems like an overreaction from Iron Man, but instead an extension of his anxiety and his drive to protect everyone now that he knows what’s out there. The movies in between the first Avengers and this one actually did a good job of setting up where everyone is emotionally and why it’s important for them all to be back for this major event. Plus, here we get some nice character-building for Hawkeye, my main man. This pushes the Avengers in a new way, with world-ending stakes, and I think it’s great. Not only are they fighting an endless army of robots, but this time they’re also racing against the clock because they’re on a city in the sky. It’s so cool! Not to mention loads of other things get set up in this film, from Vision to Thor’s epiphany about the Infinity Stones. It sets the stage for a whole new era of Avengers, one that I’m very excited to move on to.

Book Seventy-Nine: If It Bleeds
“There’s an underlying truth in it which I believe you will grasp even at your current age Films are ephemeral, while books- the good ones- are eternal, or close to it. You have read me many good ones, but others are waiting to be written.”
Tumblr media
This is it... the second to last book in the challenge. I’m really dragging my feet reading Later (although it is a spectacular book). But this challenge is over, and I don’t know what I’m going to do. I have a ton of books on my shelves and Kindle to read, and writing that needs to be done (characters are all but screaming for me to come back to them); but this project really gave me purpose in a rudderless time.
I had started this project as a fun conversation piece, but quickly turned into something bigger. During quarantine, this challenge gave me a purpose. I’d challenge myself to read one hundred pages a day, and remind myself to drink water between chapters. Sometimes writing these posts dragged me out of bed. In winter months I’m extremely agoraphobic, and it’s tough for me to leave the house some days. And other days it’s all I can do to wash and brush my hair. Mental health is a bitch, sometimes. But I didn’t mean to make this about me... although I’m sure some of my readers can relate, a lot of us took a hit to the mental health during 2020. While I will look back on quarantine fondly (it gave me excuses not to leave the house, or change out of my pajamas), my mental health will not. But just as it’s time to leave the house, I suppose it’s also time to start focusing on new projects once this one is complete. I have no idea what that will look like. Maybe I’ll start with Steve’s movies. Maybe I’ll re-read Joe Hill. Who knows. But I do know I’m going to indulge in some trashy fiction reading.
Ok!
If It Bleeds is a collection of three novellas, and a Holly Gibney story. I shouldn’t discount the other three stories: they’re extremely well written, and thought provoking. But the real star of the book is the Holly story.
The first story, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone turns grief on it’s ear. A lot of people call their loved one’s cellphones after they pass... they want that experience of hearing their voice just one more time. But what happens when the phone is buried with your loved one and continues to ring? And what if you get a text from them after their death? It’s a sweet story, with your typical Steve twist.
The second story, The Life of Chuck is told backwards, and “contains multitudes”. It also has a post-apocalyptic vibes, with California falling into the ocean, and the Midwest burning. It also has college kids storming the White House looking for answers, which is just another example of Steve predicting the future.
Steve was inspired by a random billboard that read, “Thanks Chuck!” along with a guys picture and “39 Great Years”. Again, something mundane with a great Steve twist. He’s proven this is his sweet spot.
The third story is If It Bleeds, which picks up almost immediately where The Outsider left off. There’s a tragic bombing that takes place inside an elementary school, and Holly can’t stop watching the television news reports. There’s something tickling at her brain, and she can’t figure out what it is.
Tumblr media
Eventually we find out there are more monsters like the one Holly killed in The Outsider. Jerome makes the best comparison, and says evil is like a bird that randomly flies from person to person, infecting them as it goes. There’s one section of the book when a character refers to the monster as, “It”. So it makes you wonder if this is one big tie-in, where we find out Holly is killing pieces of the monster that plagued Derry for so long.
Tumblr media
The mystery itself is secondary to Holly’s larger-than-life character. She is dealing with family issues; her Trump-supporting mom needs Holly’s help putting her uncle in a care facility, and Holly is struggling to cut herself out of the co-dependent relationship she has with her mother. But Holly has grown. She knows her worth, and she doesn’t let people talk down to her anymore. Her evolution is best described as, “Holly would do well to remember...who she is. Not the child who nibbled Mr. Rabbit Trick’s ears. Not the adolescent who threw up her breakfast most days before school. She  is the woman who, along with Bill and Jerome, saved those children at the Midwest Culture and Arts Complex. She is the woman who survived Brady Hartsfield. The one who faced another monster in a Texas cave. The girl who hid in this room and never wanted to come out is gone.”
The final story is Rat. And I’m just going to tell you... an actual rat quoting Jonathan Franzen is perfect. He’s problematic enough to be an actual rodent. Yeah, I’m going to say it. The Corrections was absolute garbage, and I don’t know why it was lauded the way it was. He’s a condescending misogynist and he’s not nearly as good a writer as he thinks he is... says the girl writing a blog on her Stephen King musings. But whatever! I own what I’m doing, and the significance of it.
Tumblr media
I will gladly re-read all of Steve’s books again before picking up another Jonathan Franzen book. If you want to dive into all the reasons he’s disgusting, this Bustle article will explain it to you. Like, legit explain it. Not mansplain it.
Anyway, Rat explores why it’s not a great idea to make deals with rodents during major weather events. And when you’re at your isolated cabin and a major snowstorm is on the way- heed your wife’s advice and come back to civilization.
This collection included plenty of Constant Reader mentions:
Derry
Shawshank Prison
Castle Rock
Gunslinger
It was an excellent collection, and I can’t get enough Holly. Steve talked about how she started out as a small, minor character and her presence just grew and grew. I don’t know about the rest of the Constant Readers, but I’d totally read another Holly book. Hell, I’ll take a whole series at this point.
So, my final book is Later. I’ve got about 100 pages left to read and then that’s it... until April.

WW84 | Mini Review
:: What was that???
How was that almost 3hrs long and yet still so rushed, with so many loose details!
Why did Barbara transform into a Cheetah? Because of her 2nd wish? If yes, why was she the only one in existence granted a 2nd wish???
Why bring back Steve in someone else’s body, acknowledge that it’s someone else, but then make it Chris Pine the whole time? Others don’t see him that way! It felt like something from a Disney Channel plot.
Diana can make things invisible?!? Kay, she’s a god, they have powers...ok...but...like...kay???
She can fly?!? Did I miss that in the comics? I’ll take it, but the waaay she did it was like....did she ACTUALLY fly or just pull herself with the lasso on the clouds? I’m confused...can someone tell me if she learned to fly like Superman?!?
The Battle Armour...why. She learned to fly (???) through the air, to go get the armour, which allowed her to fly....more...then used it to fight like, 5 soldiers and Cheetah. But the Cheetah fight was just them swinging around and scissoring each other, and then Cheetah gets electrocuted. So like, all the armour did was get shredded to show how strong Cheetah was? But we established that in the White House scene...
The wishes thing, for Lord. Sure, I actually kinda liked that power. It was different and new for comicbook movies. But....now that’s not TV broadcasting works. When Diana destroyed the camera it should’ve been over. They had that scene where Lord was taking people’s health, strength, life force, etc...I was really hoping he was going to become some kind’ve bulked up villain to fight her (better than Cheetah did). But...he stood in a light...which broadcast him to the planet....even though.....that’s not how.....tv...works....
Diana’s speech at the end *blegh* and everyone praying “I renounce my wish” together?!?! What the actual fuck was that?!?! I don’t think I’ve EVER seen anything so corny in my life. What WAS THAT!
AND and and - was not the whole build up and hype train for this movie, that it was in the 80′s and all nostalgic and snythwave and cool like Stranger Things....and then it was just a regular generic movie. Like, the outfits weren’t even that 80′s. If they made no mention of the 80′s in the marketing, I would’ve believed it was taking place in 2020. Hugely missed opportunity for whoever was scoring/editing this....
...geezus....how did we go from WW1 to this???
I did like Steve’s lil montage of being amazed by things. That was cute. And Gadot is born to be Diana, watching her BE Wonder Woman is cool and fun. Also Kristen Wiig was great, love her evolution as an actor. More roles like this for her please! Even Pedro was super entertaining as a struggling oil tycoon. All four actors were great to watch on their own, when they were doing their thing. But the story around them was....like I don’t get it!
Kay not so mini, but I was really rooting for this! I’m going to go back and watch the original to wash the memory of this out of my brain.
IGN has some more questions about, right here.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong
The evolution of Billie Joe Armstrong, frontman for Green Day, is quite interesting if you look at it in a historical context.
Early on BJA was the penultimate punk frontman.  Spitting, cussing, insulting the audience, just DGAF about what anyone thought.  Just watch the unedited version of Jaded, the concert GD recorded in Chicago in the mid-90s.  He spends a good portion insulting the audience, and they cheer along in agreement. This was post-Dookie, but pre-Insomniac.
Insomniac was a dark, dark record with lots of songs about drug use, suicidal thoughts, and insults.  He seemed at his darkest...like he lost some of his hatred, but also some of his fire and spark.  If you watch their performance on Saturday Night Live, you can kind of see it.  He is just...there. One performance, for sure, but indicative of the overall light going a bit dark.
Then Nimrod happened...and it seems that the spark returned, as well as a bit of a revelation that he didn’t have to be the East Bay Punk 24x7.  He could put trumpets, saxophones and violins in his music and people would still like it.
Good Riddance (Time of your Life) might have been the tipping point.  He wrote it during the Insomniac period, but didn’t record it until Nimrod. It was probably terrifying for them to put that song on the record, because it pretty much went against every single thing that they had preached for the previous decade.
But people liked it...Big Time.  So much that he was inspired to write American Idiot (that and George W. Bush).
I had seen Green Day live 2 times before American Idiot, and the shows were fast, intense, with almost NO stage show. Barely any lights, just Billie, Mike and Tre on stage with their amps and drums. The music was the show.
My sister gave me tickets to see GD for the AI tour, and it was like I was watching a completely different band.  All of a sudden, there were 10 people on stage, and Billie had the crowd completely out of his hand.  Every eye in the building was focused on him.  He had spotlights, toilet paper guns, pyrotechnics, costume changes...everything that goes against that original punk.
It was a little shocking as a long time GD fan, but also completely welcome.  Billie had evolved from an angry youth to one of the best frontmen in the business, seemingly overnight.
Go watch Jaded and then watch Bullet in a Bible and tell me that you wouldn’t think they are a different band if you didn’t know better.  When Billie does King for a Day and does the “a little bit softer now”, I wonder if his punk soul gets a little bit queasy...but the fans LOVE it.  They completely evolved from a punk trio to a stadium superforce.
In my own mind, I imagine Billie spending his spare time pouring over videos of Freddie Mercury, Cab Calloway, Jim Morrison, and then more Freddie Mercury.  He shamelessly steals from all of them.  But just like Steve Jobs, he owns them and makes them better.  It is really, really fun to watch and if you can separate yourself from the spectacle, even more fun to break down.  I can’t wait to see them again, and will make sure to never miss a show when I can, because it is that much fun to experience.
I just hope they don’t play anything from FOAM. Yikes...
