“Wait a moment. You think what now?” Steve asked Dustin, staring incredulously at him.
“I just don’t get it! You guys can’t get along. You’re always fighting. Or worse just glaring at each other in silence. Why live together then?” Dustin asked, flopping on the well worn couch.
“Seriously, I get you guys moved to Indy five years ago sort of broke and codependent with robin. But she’s moved out with her girlfriend. We’re all adults now, living our own lives. You guys don’t have to stick together anymore out of obligation.” Dustin pointed out, like he knew everything. Which made Steve even more confused.
He stared at the kid, now adult really. He’d always be an annoying kid to him though.
“Hate Eddie? What are you on about, I don’t hate him!” Steve sputtered, still confused. “Why would I be engaged to someone I hate?”
Dustin threw himself off the couch, staring at Steve. “What?! Engaged?! What the hell do you mean engaged? You fight like cats and dogs. Always bickering and bitching at each other. I don’t think I’ve ever heard you say one nice word to each other!”
Steve rolled his eyes as he heard the keys in the door. “That’s how we show our love dipshit. I’m not nice to you either. We’ve been dating since Eddie got out of the hospital after the last disaster.”
The door swung open and in waltzes Eddie. “Dustin, nice to see you! Steve, still being a bitch?”
“What the fuck is wrong with you two?!”

y/n loved steve.
her and steve have been the best of friends since the middle of second grade, when steve asked if he could have one of y/n's chocolate dipped marshmellows her mother packed her. how could seven year old y/n say no to eight year old steve's lopsided smile and missing front teeth.
ever since the two have been inseparable. throughout middle school and high school steve somehow managed to drag y/n into all of his antics and strange behavior.
in eighth grade steve managed to get her to go with him to egg the principals house as a dare. and in freshman and sophomore year he convinved her and his large group of friends to go skinny dipping while it was barely thirty degrees outside. (they all got frostbite and couldn't feel their fingers or toes for a solid week).
these reasons explain why him and some middle schooler were standing in front of y/n's red front door.
"why are we asking this girl for help? we could've been halfway down the train tracks right now!"
"will you relax? you said the more help we get the better the plan will be."
after three knocks on the door, it opens to reveal y/n with the most confused expression steve has ever seen on the girl.
she points to the kid, "why do you have a child with you? what-"
the child in question raises his hand to shake y/n's, catching her off gaurd.
"dustin henderson, pleasure. now we need to go," with that he walks back towards steve's parked car, making him deliver some form of an explanation.
y/n crosses her arms as steve finally responds.
"it's a very long story, but me and dustin need your help with something."
steve's big brown eyes lock with y/n's in a plead, as he flashes a dopey smile. she sighs, not questioning anything while slipping her shoes on to follow steve to his car.
steve taps the passenger seat window.
"what?" dustin asks.
"it's y/n's seat, get out."
"the hell? i was here first steve. make her sit in the back."
y/n chuckled at the boys' bickering, smiling proudly as dustin fussed even more while getting in the back seat.
"can one of you explain why you dragged me out of my house on this fine saturday?" y/n asked a few minutes into the drive, watching steve drive towards the woods near her house.
"we're baiting a monster to a junk yard," dustin deadpans as steve parks the car next to a set of train tracks.
y/n only laughs, but still gets out of the car, only to be met with steve and dustin pulling buckets of meat, gloves and backpacks out of the trunk.
"you can't be serious right now. there's no such thing as monsters," y/n chuckles again.
"just put some gloves on and help," dustin demands.
"only if you have proof of said monster."
"oh we'll have proof," steve replies. the slight waver in his voice confirms well enough for y/n not to take this lightly, as she grabs a bucket of meat in her gloved hands.
the trio started walking down the train tacks, y/n and steve stayed relatively close to each other, while dusting walked a few feet ahead of them.
"so what kind of monster are we baiting with all this meat?" y/n asks.
dustin stops and turns to the older teenagers before responding, "picture a dog. now add slime and teeth and gross viens and a long tail. oh and no face."
y/n simply nods, while dustin turns back around.
the trio walked a few feet again before steve starts a conversation with dustin.
"all right let me get this straight. you kept something you probably knew was dangerous just to impress some girl?"
"okay that's grossly oversimplifying things," dustin exaggerates.
"why would she like some slug anyway?"
"i thought you said it was a dog," y/n pipes up from behind the boys.
"it was a slug, but now it's a dog," dustin answers, before looking back towards steve, "and it's an interdimensional slug? cause it's awesome," he giggles.
"don't you think you're trying to hard? what if she doesn't even think the slug is cool?"
"not everyone can have your perfect hair all right?" dustin lets out a sight of defeat.
steve shakes his head, "it's not about the hair man. the key with girls is to act like you don't care. drives 'em nuts."
y/n can't help but roll her eyes as dustin asks, "even if you do care?"
"exactly."
"then what?" curiosity fills dustin's voice again.
"you uh, wait till you feel it," steve smirks.
"feel what?"
"y'know like before it's gonna storm, you'll feel this like, electricity."
dustin starts going on a small rant about electromagnetic currents, before steve cuts him off.
"no no no, like a sexual electricity. you feel that, that's when you make your move."
y/n can't believe her best friend was giving a twelve year old relationship advice. she starts zoning out, continuing to plop down chunks of meat every now and then on the weathered train tracks.
the boys in front of her continue their conversation.
"what type is y/n?"
steve looks behind him, noticing the girl is a bit farther behind them, "what about her?"
"well is she a ninja? lion? some other secret third option?"
"y/n's different. she's not like any other girl i've met. that's why she's my best friend."
"bullshit."
steve's caught off gaurd, "sorry, what? what's bullshit?"
"you two are way more than friends."
"oh yeah? how do you know that? you just met her today, and have some analysis on us?"
"well considering you've brought her up in almost every conversation we've had, wanted to go to her for help with dart, and now are calling her different from other girls. i'm just doing the math."
"yeah, well stop," steve deadpans, sighing as he looks back at the girl again.
a few minutes of silence goes by, as y/n now catches up to steve and dustin.
"faberge," steve blurts out.
both y/n and dustin's eyebrows furrow.
"what?" dustin asks.
"it's faberge organics."
y/n starts giggling from besides steve, knowing where this is probably going. in all eleven years of knowing steve "the hair" harringon, not once has she been told his secret hair care routine.
"use the shampoo and conditioner when your hair's damp, not wet okay?"
"not wet, damp," dustin repeats.
"then four puffs of farrah fawcett spray."
this makes y/n burst out laughing, making dustin join in as well.
"something funny to you?" steve turns, annoyed by his best friend.
y/n shakes her head, "no, no of course not. other than the fact you use a girl's hair styling products."
"you guys tell anyone i told you this," he points at both dustin and y/n, "your asses are grass, got it?"
they both nod, before dustin asks, "farrah fawcett, really?"
"i mean she's hot."
⋆ ˚ 。 ⋆ ୨୧ ˚
after what felt like forever, y/n, steve and dustin made it to the junkyard dustin was leading them to.
"good call dude," steve praises as y/n pats dustin on the back, making the boy smile.
they pile the rest of the meat into a large pile in the middle of the junkyard, when a new voice makes them look to the right.
y/n guesses it's some of dustin's friends, but he doesn't look happy about them being here.
dustin drags the other boy behind a red rusted car, while the girl walks over to y/n and steve.
"hey, i'm max," she holds out her hand.
"i'm y/n, and that over there is steve," max nods. "i think the plan is to grab any trash we can find to cover the windows on this bus, alright?"
with that the new trio quickly begin covering the bus with old plates of metal, car doors, and wire, before steve goes off to find dustin and his friend.
the second friend of dustin's soon introduces himself to y/n, making the girl smile at all the kids' kindness towards her.
time went by far too quickly, as the sun was now setting and the group of five was sitting in different places around the bus.
lucas was on top of the bus with a pair of binoculars glued to his eyes. max was sitting in one of the torn up bus seats. dustin was anxiously pacing. y/n and steve were sitting next to each other on the floor, while steve was busy flicking a lighter.
"so you really fought one of these things before? and you're sure it wasn't a bear?"
"shit, don't be an idiot okay? if you don't believe us, just go home," dustin pouts.
"jeez, past someone's bed time?" max replies, before going up the ladder in the direction of lucas.
"dustin!" y/n scolds.
"that's good, just show her you don't care."
y/n punches steve in the arm.
"i don't," dustin responds.
steve turns as dustin sits down. he notices y/n's nervous habit of picking at her nails. the last time he noticed her do it was sophomore year before her driving test. and now a year and a half later she was doing it again.
"hey, you okay?" he stops flicking the lighter.
y/n nods, "yeah. i mean i've never fought a monster before," she smiles slightly.
"you'll be fine, trust me. i'll protect you," steve smiles at her, watching as the worry leaves her tired eyes.
"thanks steve."
the sweet moment however was cut short, by a distant growling noise, and dustin jumping up to the wire covered slit in the side of the bus.
"lucas, what's happening?"
"hold on!" lucas yells.
"who knew twleve year olds could be full of so much sass?" y/n questions as steve helps her up off the floor.
"right?" he agrees with a low chuckle.
everyone on the bus soon spots the monster they were looking for. y/n couldn't help but grip steve's jacket sleeve tighter than she was a minute ago, when she sees the monster's face.
well, resemblance of a face. she shivers at the light chittering noises as he sniffs the pile of meat.
"why isn't he taking the bait?" dustin asks no one in particular.
"maybe he's not hungry," y/n guesses.
"maybe he's sick of cow," steve then answers, beginning to back away from y/n and dustin, just as max climbs down the ladder.
"steve, what are you doing?" dustin asks.
"just get ready," he tosses y/n his lighter, as he grabs a bat from besides the door.
"steve are you insane? you could get killed out there," y/n hisses, only wanting him to say he's joking and stand next to her again.
y/n's breath hitches as steve goes out the busted doors and into the lion's den. or would it be dog's den?
whatever it may be, it only stresses the older girl out more once the demodog can be seen in front of steve.
as steve stops mocking the demodog, he swings his nailed back more times than he can count, as he runs away from the monster whenever it chases him.
the three younger kids begin yelling for him at the same time, panicking for him. y/n can only bite her nails and watch in terror as her best friend might be killed in the next five minutes.
"he's insane," max calls out.
"he's awesome," dustin responds with a smile.
lucas calls out from above, alerting steve of the other dogs approaching.
"there's more of them?" y/n questions dustin.
dustin avoids her question before yelling through the window, "steve! abort!"
max and y/n join in on the yelling, until y/n begins opening the bus doors.
steve stumbles up the steps and is out of breath after he shoves the door closed, now only inches away from y/n.
"you're an idiot."
"are they rabid or something?" max asks.
"they can't get in! they can't!" dustin yells as one of the dogs rams itself against the metal doors.
steve grabs y/n's arm to bring her away from any form of danger, something he's gotten used to doing over the past few years.
dustin begins yelling god knows what into his walkie talkie set, as lucas climbs down the ladder and into the group of worried kids.
y/n takes in a deep breath and grabs steve's bat from out of his hands.
"y/n what the hell?" he asks, before his eyes widen, watching her begin the trek up the ladder.
he grabs her waist, stopping her, "what on earth do you think you're doing?"
"what if more are up there?"
"then let me handle it!" he whisper-yells.
"no, you stay here with the kids. they seem to trust you more."
y/n starts walking up the ladder again, definitely missing the feeling of steve's big hands on her waist.
y/n makes it to the top of the bus, clutching the nailed bat in her hands until her knuckles practically turn white. her head twists and body turns at any sound she hears, not wanting to take any chances at missing one of those dogs.
she fully turns around at the sound of claws on metal, watching as a demodog crawls onto the top of the bus.
the color in her face drains as she beings walking towards it. steve and the kids inside the bus can't help but start calling out her name, just like they all did when steve was outside.
the demodog growls at her, as y/n holds the bat up, ready to swing. however another demodog makes it way up from the other end of the bus.
thankfully, dustin notices the faint prints of the dog's feet towards the back and is quick to alert steve.
"y/n!" he yells up the ladder, "there's two, you have to get down!"
"i'm kinda busy here!" her voice shakes, and she prays that steve doesn't notice. he does.
once the first demodog is close enough, she swings the bat with as much force as she can muster and it rolls off the bus onto the dried grass beneath her.
she lets out a sigh of relief, althoguh steve's words finally register, just as the second demodog runs towards her and slashes it's claws through her left leg. the force makes it so y/n falls forward, making steve's bat fall out of her hands and lands with a thud farther down the bus.
steve's head immediately picks itself up as he hears y/n's ear splitting scream, followed by the call of steve's name. he skips two rings at a time as he climbs the ladder, scrambling to get through the opening.
his eyes widen as y/n's trying her hardest to kick the demodog away, but move away from it at the same time. however she can't move much because of the pain seering up her leg. steve turns his head, noticing his bat behind him, and is as quick as possible to swing at the dog. he gets the dog off the bus in two swings.
as soon as he takes another look at y/n, he drops the bat and kneels in front of her.
"hey, hey you're okay," his calm voice is an exact opposite of everything the two teens just went through.
y/n shakes her head and cries more as steve looks down at the gashes in her leg. there's three thick lines of skin missing, with blood dripping down her leg, ruining her pants and single converse.
out of instinct, steve takes off his signature grey jacket and places it over y/n's leg. she reaches forward and holds onto steve's arm as if her life depended on it.
"steve!" she cries more.
"i know. i know it hurts baby," the petname rolls of his tongue before he can stop it, "but we need to stop the bleeding okay? it'll help in the long run."
y/n leans her head forward, crying into steve's neck as he continues tending to her.
"dustin! max! lucas! i need your help!"
the three middle schoolers come up quickly, dustin already looking for things in his backpack as he sits down besides steve.
lucas helps dustin find anything to help stop the bleeding, as max sits next to y/n and rubs her back.
steve throws his now bloodied jacket somewhere on the top of the bus, as dustin hands him a few paper towels. steve's heart rate calms slightly as the blood flow has slowed down since he began helping y/n.
"will this work?" lucas asks steve, holding out a worn out bandage wrap from his own backpack.
steve nods, before dustin quickly takes the paper towels, only wanting to help steve.
"this is gonna sting a little okay? and it might be tight, but it's okay, yeah?" steve's calm voice floods her ears again.
he feels her nod against him and mutter oout a 'yeah', before he carefully wraps the bandage around her leg. once he finshes, his hand hovers over the area, as he rubs his tumb back and forth.
"you're okay," steve whispers against the top of her head, and kisses her hair.
her hold on his shirt loosens and her breathing starts going back to his normal state.
"hey there champ," steve smiles as she brings her face out of his neck. steve wipes under her eyes with his thumb.
"you think you can walk?" dustin asks carefully, definitely not wanting to piss y/n or steve off at the moment.
y/n nods, "i'm definitely going to need some help."
the three kids are the first to go down the ladder, grabbing their bags, and steve's bat and bloodied jacket.
steve helps y/n down the ladder, and once she's at the bottom, lucas and dustin help her stand until steve reaches the bottom.
the same process is made until everyone is standing outside the bus. y/n is leaning practically all her body weight against steve, making sure not to lean on her injured leg.
"do you think steve scared them off?" lucas broke the silence, now noticing none of the demodogs were around them anymore.
"no, no way."
"jeez thanks," steve responds to dustin's response, after wrapping his arm tighter around y/n's waist.
"they were going somewhere," dustin continues.
"where?" max asks.
"the lab," dustin and lucas say at the same time.
just as the group begins walking towards the forest, after dustin hands out flashlights for everybody, y/n winces as she tries to take a few steps.
"you guys okay?" dustin asks.
"yeah, yeah, you guys start walking. we'll be there in a few," steve responds, helping y/n sit down on the hood of an abandoned car.
"are you okay?" steve rubs over the denim of y/n's pants, making his hands rest on her thighs.
she nods, "yeah it just feels weird."
now steve nods, before she speaks up again.
"you called me baby."
"what?"
"up on the top of the bus," she explained, "you called me baby."
steve's face instantly become pink as his cheeks felt hot.
"oh, i uh, i didn't mean to. it was kind of in the heat of the moment i guess. i swear i-"
y/n cuts him off, "i liked it."
"oh?" is all steve can get out.
y/n nods again, "i really liked it. and maybe this is just the blood loss talking, but i really like you steve."
steve is silent as she continues rambling.
"i've liked you since you took me to the eighth grade dance, in that stupid blue dress my mom made me wear. i've liked you since you invited me to that stupid pool party with nancy wheeler when you liked her. i've liked you since you helped me find my car in the school parking lot," she pauses as they both let out a laugh. "i've liked you forever steve."
steve lets y/n's words sink in. as he does his smile only grows wider.
"i've liked you forever too," he begins to lean closer to y/n.
he's now fully standing between y/n's legs, not letting his hands fall from her thighs. he captures her lips gently at first, feeling her hands move to hold onto his shoulders.
he deepens the kiss, both of them letting years of untold love fall onto the other's lips. y/n's hands move up towards his hair, holding the strands in the back between her fingers.
y/n is the first to pull back, solely to catch her breath and so she can admire a lovestruck steve. her hands move down from his hair to his biceps, as his still stay on her thighs.
"hey steve?" her voice is quiet.
he hums a response.
"do you think you could carry me to this lab we're going to?"
steve smiles and nods, "i was hoping you'd ask."
y/n giggles as he's being as gentle as possible to pick her up off the car and into his arms. he leans forward to kiss her forehead before he starts walking.
"i'm sorry i ruined your favorite jacket," she apologizes as she leans her head on steve's shoulder.
"it's okay, i needed a new one anyway."

“don’t you dare touch him” eddie x shy!reader
idk i need a situation where reader never really speaks up but she finally does when it comes to eddie because she loves him sm😭
thanks so much for your request! hope you like it!! — the one where eddie melts when his quiet gf sticks up for him in front of jason (shy!reader, fluff, 2.4k)
bug's summer fic fest ♡
The drive from Forest Hills to the arcade is spent with Lucas and Dustin bickering in the backseat and Eddie’s hand on your thigh.
“It’s been two years, and you still can’t beat my high score, Dusty Bun,” the former boy taunts. The nickname spills like venom from his smiling face. “Just give it up, okay? It’s not happening.”
Dustin grins back at him. It’s more so mischievous than it is taunting. His deep blue eyes narrow in a challenging squint. “You are so gonna be eating your words by the end of the night. When we leave, Princess Daphne is gonna be mine, alright? For good.”
Their arguing becomes background noise. With your cheek lolled against the hand you’ve got propped against the window, you’re pulled into the wispy lilac cloud your gaze is so heavily fixated upon. The sky billows lavender against a sea of pink and golden orange — a summer sunset so vivid you can taste it.
The only thing keeping you grounded is Eddie’s palm on your knee, wide and warm and all-consuming. His thumb rubs against your skin so softly you think it must be absentminded. It feels like static shock, anyway. He laughs quietly to himself, and his fingers tremble gently against you. This time they squeeze you with a newfound intention as he brings you back to him.
“What do you think, babe?” Eddie asks, pink mouth spread in a pearly white grin. His chocolate eyes glimmer with the golden hour sun as his gaze flits between yours and the road. “Think Dusty Bun has a chance here?”
You nod, scrunched nose and squinted eyes, silent in your support for the curly-headed boy who’s still yelling over Lucas in the back of the van.
“What about me?” he presses. And because he knows better than to give his quiet girl anything other than a yes or no answer, he follows quickly, “You think today’s the day I finally beat your Space Invaders high score?”
A beat passes. The momentary silence is filled with arguing boys, old tires on older asphalt, and Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” spilling softly from the radio. A quiet smile tugs at the corners of your mouth. You purse the mischievous expression to the side as you turn away from him again.
Your non-answer makes him laugh. It sounds exactly like the colors of the sunset.
His beat-up van jerks when he puts it into park. The door on the side squeaks as the kids file out of it. Eddie’s does too, but you can’t hear it over him telling you to “sit tight.”
You wait patiently in the passenger seat like you always do, smiling to yourself as the boy rushes around the hood to open the door for you. The hinges screech in protest. His wild curls billow in the wind as he smiles. “C’mon, sunshine. Our palace awaits.”
The group of you stand beneath the spinning neon sign he parked next to — glowing orange and white beneath a setting sun. Someone calls from across the parking lot, “Well, well, well. Look who it is.”
Your heads snap in the direction of the painfully familiar voice.
Jason and the rest of his abnormally tall goons stand outside the new gym that just opened on the strip. The dark, vacant building wedged between The Palace and Family Video was no longer as scary as it used to be now that it was occupied. You were just hoping it’d be something more exciting. Forcing arcade nerds and gym bros into one spot feels like a crime.
“And they brought little miss wallflower, too,” Jason lilts with his pretty smile and straight teeth. His blonde hair is a darker shade of brown, damp with half-dried sweat. His lean form is unnaturally built underneath his white tank top and basketball shorts.
It isn’t any wonder why he turned out to be such a raging douchebag.
Someone so perfect needed at least one flaw.
“The gang’s all here, huh?” one of his other friends — Andy, you think — concurs from behind him, always in the boy’s shadow.
“Like what you see, fellas?” Eddie calls out from across the slab of pavement separating the group of you. He’ll never turn down an opportunity to take the piss out of the so-called jocks, all muscle and no brain.
“What do we do when those assholes give us hell?” he’d often ask when you’ve had a particularly shitty day with them. “We give ‘em hell right back.”
Jason’s thin lips curl into a more mischievous smirk. His blue eyes are lighter in the golden sunlight, and they twinkle beneath the neon signs as he looks you up and down. “Yeah, actually,” he hums with his unabashed ogling. “I do.”
Mike’s lanky legs sidestep to stand ahead of you. He does it so swiftly, so instinctually, you don’t think he even really meant to do it. Despite the raven-haired boy halfway covering you, you cross your arms over your torso in a further attempt to keep yourself hidden.
You feel so suddenly exposed in your frilly floral sundress — especially considering the only thing you wear to school is baggy jeans and baggier sweaters. You feel like you might as well be naked standing in front of them just now.
The younger boys stand on high alert as Eddie walks the short distance to Jason. The brief journey is made quicker when the blonde boy strides to meet him halfway. It’s a high school sort of standoff — neither particularly wanting to get physical because the real-life repercussions aren’t worth it. They just want to see who can piss each other off the most.
“She is pretty, isn’t she?” Eddie concedes with a grin, flashing you a brief glance over his shoulder. He turns away quickly at the sight of your wide, pleading eyes. He scrunches his nose in feigned sympathy. “I bet you’re real jealous, huh? Especially now that you’ve got nothing but your right hand keeping you company ever since Chrissy dumped your ass.”
“Watch it,” Jason warns through gritted teeth.
“I think I saw her riding around last week with Harrington, actually.”
The blonde boy’s sneakers scuff against the concrete as he takes a daring step closer. His piercing stare never wavers. “Don’t talk about Chrissy.”
“Don’t talk about my girl, and I won’t talk about yours,” Eddie retorts in lilt. And then, because he can’t help but twist the knife, he tilts his head to his shoulder and continues. “Well, I guess she’s not really yours anymore, is she?”
“I said don’t talk about Chrissy!” Jason repeats, louder than before, when he lets his anger get the best of him. One hand shoots up to shove at Eddie’s chest, using only enough force to make the boy stumble slightly back.
While Dustin, Lucas, and Mike gear up for a fight, Eddie only laughs in response — big, boisterous, and boyish.
You don’t even realize you’re stepping in front of the group until you’re already doing it. The words seem to fly from your mouth without you even thinking about them. “Don’t touch him!” you shout.
And even though it wasn’t particularly loud, it quiets in the mindless bickering all at once. Everyone turns to gape at you — Jason, Andy, Dustin, Eddie. Everyone is equally surprised by your outburst. Because you don’t speak. Ever. At least, not if you can help it.
And it’s not because you don’t have anything to say, because you do. It’s just that your brain works too much, and your mouth can’t keep up with it sometimes. It’s easier just to be silent.
That’s what you’ve been known for ever since you were little. You went through all of it — the bullying, the sad eyes, the talks with teachers, the ‘is everything alright at home’s. Everything was fine, for the most part. Your childhood was equally as middling as everyone else’s. You just had a harder time being human than most people.
Jason smiles again, amused by your warning. “What was that, sweetheart?”
You swallow through a tightening throat. Your sweaty hands clench into balls at your sides. The words come out quieter than before, but no less meaningful. “I said… Don’t touch him.”
“Oh, so she does speak. Here I thought no one ever taught you how to,” the blonde boy laughs. You feel disgusting when his attention settles solely upon you. The lingering sick feeling is eclipsed by your gratitude that Eddie’s no longer in his line of fire. “I’m gonna be honest… I thought you were cuter when you were quiet.”
You don’t know what he means by that. You can’t tell if he’s being genuine, or if he thinks you care enough about what he thinks to slink back into your shell.
“Leave Eddie alone,” you retort drily.
He snorts. “Yeah? Or what?”
There’s a thousand words you want to say. You open your mouth to spit all of them at the boy across from you, but nothing comes out.
“Yeah,” Jason laughs at your silence. “That’s what I thought.”
You stand your ground when he walks towards you. His strides are slow and menacing, like he’s expecting you to back away. You might’ve if you were anywhere else — if Eddie wasn’t a couple feet away and the rest of your friends weren’t crowding behind you. You’re made somehow braver by their presence.
“This is a really cute dress, though, sweetheart,” the blonde boy compliments with a thin smirk. “You should dress like this more often. You know what? You’d really fit in at the strip club downtown— what’s it called?”
“Pink Paradise,” Andy answers without missing a beat.
Jason smacks his lips against his teeth. “That’s the one.”
“Is that the one your mom works at?” you wonder with your arms crossed over your chest. Your head tilts to your shoulder as you squint at him. “Is she still giving those two-for-one discounts?”
Jason’s confidence stutters at your biting reply — even more so by the choked-back laughter accompanying it. Your boys don’t bother to hide their humored giggles, though the basketball team covers theirs by coughing into their fists.
“Ooh. I didn’t know you had such a much on you,” the blonde lilts as his blue eyes narrow. “I’m like… fifty percent more attracted to you now.”
“Leave Eddie alone,” you deadpan once more. “And go be a douchebag somewhere else.”
One of his friends breaks free from the pack. He’s tall, thin, and toned. He’s got the same haircut as Lucas: compact curls, squared off on the sides. You know him — Patrick McKinney. He’s the only one of Jason’s friends that was actually nice to you. Or, at the very least, he wasn’t a total asshole.
“Let’s go, man,” the boy ushers, nudging at Jason’s bicep. “Let’s go shoot some hoops or something. This isn’t worth it.”
You scoff out a laugh. “Oh, please— the only shooting Jason Carver does is into a kleenex. It’s why you were benched all last season.”
“I twisted my ankle!” the blonde boy defends, sounding weak and pathetic beneath the chorus of laughter as Patrick drags him away.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night,” you mutter, perhaps too quiet for him to hear, as Lucas pulls at your forearm to guide you in the other direction. His touch is still gentle — it would be uncharacteristic of him to be rough with you. It would also be a terrible idea with Eddie just a few paces behind the both of you.
The walk to The Palace is a silent one. There’s too much to say, and everyone’s just a little too amazed to say it. Eddie, however, never had a hard time killing a quiet. He rushes on long legs to match your quick strides, reaching you rather easily.
“Hey, hey, hey— you okay, babe?” the worried boy wonders. He takes a gentle hold of your wrists when you reach the awning beneath the arcade. His chocolate gaze flits attentively over your form, nowhere near as leering as Jason had been.
He can tell by your heaving chest and glassy eyes that you’re a little overwhelmed. When he takes your face in his hands, he finds that your cheeks are burning, too.
You nod into his warm palms in silent reply, back in the comfort of your shell all over again.
“What’d you do that for, huh?” Eddie singsongs with a quiet laugh. His thumb dances over your cheekbones as he grins at you. “You know I don’t like you getting involved with those assholes.”
“They don’t get to talk to you like that… Or put their hands on you,” you mutter. Despite your soft tone, Eddie can see the fury flashing in your eyes, getting angry about it all over again.
His smile widens — proud and hopelessly in love with you. “No. They don’t. Especially not with my girl around, huh?”
“Nope,” you murmur, popping the p. A sheepish grin pulls at your mouth, equally as proud and in love.
Eddie leans down to kiss you, guiding your mouth to his with the hands cupping your jaw. It’s innocuously chaste, being that you’re still standing in a public parking lot. You could never quite stomach the attention of PDA, anyway. His pink lips lock with yours in a fleeting peck, and his arms wrap around you a second later.
He smothers you into his chest, and you revel in every second of it. He smells like cigarette smoke and the cologne he tried to cover it up with. He smells like a home you could live in forever.
You smile into the thrifted Blondie tee you got him — which he happily accepted because he loves you (even though he hates Blondie). He presses a kiss into your hair and smushes his nose into the crown of it as he laughs.
“‘Is that the one your mom works at?’” Eddie repeats with a soft chuckle, chest swelling with pride once more. “God, babe. That’s good.”
“Shut up…” you murmur.
“I’m serious! I didn’t know you were such a good smack-talker! I think you might be a genius, actually.”
“Don’t,” you grouse with a lighthearted scowl. You pull away from him only slightly — enough for him to put your face back in his hands again. You feel safest there, even if you are pouting up at him.
“You’re so cute,” the boy muses with a beam. His eyes glimmer like a sea of chocolate syrup, melting with all the love he has for you. “You’re like a cinnamon roll. A cinnamon roll that could bite people.”
“That’s exactly what I am,” you monotone and try your best not to smile.
Eddie couldn’t hide his grin if he tried. “And that’s exactly why I love you.”

Thinking about Steve getting disowned by his parents.
And he's talking to Eddie and Eddie calls him "Steve fucking Harrington." And Steve's like. "I'm not a Harrington anymore :( They took everything from me including my name." And he was like. Understandably sad about his name and his identity and the fact that his parents don't love him and all that.
And Eddie. In an attempt to cheer him is all flirty and offers his own name up for Steve to use. Steve sad laughs and says that if Eddie wants to propose he needs to do better than that.
While they're having this conversation Dustin is lurking and hears this and is outraged that Eddie thinks he can just. Give Steve his name without earning it. Steve should be a Henderson. He's basically Dustin's brother already.
Dustin complains about this to Will in front of Joyce and Joyce is like. Not if i can adopt him first.
Will mentions it to Lucas and Erica is like. Bitch he should be honored to be a Sinclair! And she tells her friends about it in front of Robin who's like. Excuse me. We are twins. He needs to be a Buckley.
Meanwhile Lucas mentioned it to Max and she's always down to compete with Dustin and also. Steve is her brother too asshat.
She complains to El about it. Hopper overhears and is like. Steve is disowned? Where's he living? I already adopted one kid in the past few years what's another.
Over the course of the next week everyone has decided that Steve is their family and he should live with them and/or take their last name.
They're all getting together just because they're all a bit codependent and need to get all together every few weeks or else they all start worrying.
Steve and Eddie are running late for whatever reason. (overslept. Steve's trying to do his hair. Steve found Eddie's 5-in-1 doesn't really matter except Steve and Eddie are together and Steve's been staying at Eddie and Wayne's new government issued house.)
By the time they arrive everyone is bickering, varying from Hopper quietly saying that Joyce already has two kids wouldn't it be better for Steve to have a parent who can give him more attention, to Max and Robin having a silent standoff to Erica and Dustin fully wrestling on the ground biting and scratching.
And Steve's like. "HEY! What the fuck is going on?"
And no one wants to admit how wild they've all gone in fighting to adopt Steve. So there's this awkward beat of silence before Dustin and Robin both break down and yell at Steve that he's their family and he should take their respective last name.
Steve is so overwhelmed he starts crying. And almost none of them have seen him cry. Like. Nancy and Robin. Maybe. And only when he's been pushed to his limit.
So everyone's like. Did we break him? Did we offend him? Did we accidentally remind him of his pain?
And he's just. Never felt this loved before.
Maybe he chooses one. Maybe he chooses all of them into a really long string of names. Maybe they develop some kind of elaborate competition to decide who earns Steve as family. Maybe there's some kind of rotation in place. Tbh I'd love to hear other people's ideas.
But I do know that the day it becomes legal, Steve's last name and Eddie's last name become the same. Maybe it's a hyphen. Maybe Eddie charges his name to Buckley-Byers-Henderson-Hopper-Mayfield-Sinclair-Wheeler (alphabetical was decided to be the most fair).
And no matter what Steve is so so loved and everyone makes sure he knows it.

I absolutely love every time other people find something out about Steve and are just like ???
I wonder if any of his student’s parents are fans of Eddie’s but have no idea their kid’s teacher is married to him (perhaps finding out at career day 👀)
I love the thought of some rock n roll dad (aka: the guy in the minivan blaring Rage Against the Machine during morning drop off (aka: aka: my dad)) meeting his kid’s teacher during open house and seeing a picture on his desk of him and guitar legend, Eddie Munson.
Steve’s in the middle of explaining the curriculum for the year when Rock N Roll Dad points to a picture of him and Eddie backstage at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame last year when Eddie presented like, “You like that guy?”
Steve looks from Rock N Roll Dad to the picture and then back, “Yeah, you could say that.”
Then he goes back to talking about what they should expect in terms of homework and that was that until parent/teacher conferences.
The first thing Rock N Roll Dad clocks in the new picture on Steve’s desk. It replaced the Eddie Munson one with a new one of the two of them in the parking lot after a local show. Steve’s got his arm thrown around Eddie’s neck, both of them smiling wide, and Gareth is in the background giving them bunny ears.
Rock N Roll Dad points to the framed picture like, “Pretty cool to have met ‘em.”
“Yeah,” Steve nods. “It’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.”
Rock N Roll Dad is not gay himself but he is not one of those ultra straight Corroded Coffin fans that liked to pretend that half the band isn’t queer. He was actually watching the MTV Music Awards show that Eddie publicly came out at by declaring his love for some guy named Steve, and actually.
Rock N Roll Dad thought it made a lot of sense that Eddie Munson was gay because well. A lot of his songs were… phallic.
So, he knows.
He knows that Eddie Munson is gay and that he’s married to some guy whose name isn’t even listed on his Wikipedia page, and he knows that he lives in Chicago, but what he doesn’t know is why he never put two and two together and got Steve Harrington.
There’s a different picture of Eddie Munson on Mr. Harrington’s desk when Rock N Roll Dad goes to talk to him after his kid gets detention for being a little shithead. There is framed original concept art for CC’s first album on the wall behind Steve when Rock N Roll Dad checks in on his kid during a zoom study session.
Hell, Rock N Roll Dad follows Eddie on Tiktok.
He has seen the ass shots that Eddie has posted of his husband in his running shorts, and he did think, yeah, that’s a great ass. He didn’t know he was thinking that about his kid’s math teacher!!
It’s not even Career Day when he discovers it. It’s the day before when they can set up their booths in the gym because Rock N Roll Dad may be a heavy metal fan always, but he’s also an accountant from 8:30 to 4:30 Monday thru Friday.
He’s struggling to keep his poster board up when in walks guitar legend, Eddie Munson. He’s carrying a box, following behind a guy carrying an iguana.
Rock N Roll Dad abandons everything and walks over to the booth across the way. He can hear the two bickering with each other but before he can say anything, Steve Harrington is there and he is distressed, “Why do you have that?!”
“Her name is Leia, Steve,” Dustin says, “and she has separation anxiety.”
Steve opens his mouth like he wants to complain but doesn’t even know where to begin so he just accepts it, “Is she going to eat somebody?”
“That happened one time!”
Eddie Munson, infamous guitarist that lived on Rock N Roll Dad’s walls as a teenager, uses the opportunity to slide up next to Mr. Harrington and wrap an arm around him. He kisses his cheek, “Baby, we’re here to help.”
“You’re here to guilt me into letting you be a part of Career Day.”
“I can multitask, babe,” Eddie grinned, still so close to Steve that his smile touches his cheek. Steve just sags against him and Rock N Roll Dad thinks, oh. He thinks, oh, shit.
“You have a fan,” Steve mumbles, pulling away a little. It takes Rock N Roll Dad a second to realize that they’re talking about him and then he thinks, fuck.
“Hey – Hi. Uh.” He stops, thinks about lying and saying he needs tape or something, but settles on, “I didn’t know my kid’s teacher married you.”
“Technically, I married him.”
“Technically, I married both of you,” Dustin pointed out. “I officiated the wedding.”
“Ah,” Rock N Roll Dad says because what else is there to say. “Big fan.”
“Yeah, I can tell.”
#at this point in the timeline Steve has only been shot from waist down in Eddie’s Tiktok account#you may be thinking ‘is rock n roll dad Jeremy’s dad’ and he’s not#he’s the father of a kid that doesn’t give a shit about how their teacher is married to so when he goes home and says your math teacher is#married to a celebrity they’re like ‘I don’t know who that is so no he’s not’#so Steve’s students don’t find out until Eddie’s infamous ‘why is your math teacher my husband’ Tiktok#eddie munson tiktok saga#steve harrington#eddie munson

ISN'T SHE LOVELY? – S. HARRINGTON
𖥻 summary: the party meets y/n and steve's firstborn. 𖥻 pairing: steve harrington x fem!reader 𖥻 warnings: girl dad!steve. the baby's name is amelia. too much fluff. everyone is alive and well thank you. one dirty dancing reference. bad grammar, italics & not proofread (hey it's me). 2k-ish words. weird divs :/
💭 liv's thoughts: this is based on an idea i had last year (s4 i miss you) and a sequel of sorts to my 'all is well universe' of sunny days that won't ever end – you don't have to read it, but pls do it's v sweet. i hope you like it! <3
DO NOT INTERACT WITH THIS WORK IF YOU'RE UNDER SIXTEEN.
The sound of loud chattering could be heard from the end of the hallway, which wasn't surprising, given the number of people that were sharing the limited space of the apartment's living room. The kids – can you even call them that anymore? – were never known for their ability to speak quietly whenever they were together. However, everyone seemed to be in such a good mood that you can even hear the loud sound of Jonathan's laugh. There's a first time for everything, right?
You held the small baby in your arms, walking in slow steps out of her little nursery. Though you tried not to disturb your daughter too much, Amelia already had her big brown eyes open and searching for the source of all that noise. She wasn't used to such noises, being too accustomed to her parents' soft-spoken voices and the entertaining sound of their television – that didn't play anything other than Steve's recordings of Barney episodes. It's only natural that she finds the commotion strange.
As you arrive in the living room, you are greeted by Steve in his typical mom pose, hands on his hips as he watches Michael and Max's every move, anxiously waiting for his girls. From his stance, you can see that he already regrets the idea of inviting everyone over. Taking in the very worried furrow of his eyebrows, you just know that he is going over the most pessimistic thoughts as he looks at the crowded living room.
Appearing with the small baby in your arms, everyone gasped in surprise and amazement, including Steve, who quickly made his way over to you with the goofiest, most endearing smile. His big hands wrap around Amelia's small frame, as he leans down to take her from your arms. He has that sweet look on his face, that brightens even more when he sees the chubbiness of the baby's laughing cheeks. Delicately, like he's carrying the world's most precious jewel (he is!), your husband shows Amy to everyone, with a proud glimmer in his eyes.
"There she is!" he maneuvers her chubby body tenderly, making the baby sit on his arm to face everyone. Her upper body leaned on his chest for support, and she squealed happily when her curious eyes noticed how many people were in their living room. Unhesitating, Steve translates it to everyone, "Millie says hi".
That was enough to erupt a string of awws, sighs and one high-pitched "she's so adorable!" from Eddie. It was funny to see how a human being so small had everyone wrapped around her tiny little finger. Even Max, who usually had a hard time showing any emotion other than pure annoyance, was goofily smiling at the baby, admiring her brown (and very full) hair and round cheeks.
The kids were the most eager to get to know Amelia, with Dustin being the spokesman for their wishes, telephoning almost every day since the baby was born to ask when they could meet her. So, it's no surprise that the first person to make grabby hands to hold her next was Henderson himself. "C'mon, Steve, let me hold my goddaughter!" he exclaims as he looks at your girl in absolute awe.
"Your goddaughter?" Eddie asks, scoffing from his seat at the couch's armrest, next to the boy. "Yeah, right".
"Guys," Robin quickly intervenes, rolling her eyes as she watches the two bickering all over again over the matter. She was seated comfortably in the chair by your living room's small table, alongside Vicky. "Not this again, please?"
That wasn't enough to silence Eddie and Dustin, who began to argue harder about who is supposed to be the baby's godfather. The usual arguments were professed, "You're not old enough!", "but I'm the most mature!", "The baby's lullaby shouldn't be Dio!", "And it shouldn't be Weird Al Yankovic either!"
Given that he couldn't clap, Steve stomped his foot on the ground as he commanded the room's attention to him again, "Hey, hey, hey!" he exclaimed, letting out a satisfied breath when everyone falls silent again. "So, before we let you hold our daughter, I'd like to go over some rules-".
Loud groans erupt from everyone's mouths, and Amelia looks up at her dad, even more curious.
The kids were squished on the living room's small couch, surprisingly fitting in the space where you and Steve had a hard time adjusting in. Eleven was sitting on the side of the couch's armrest, patiently kicking her feet as Mike, Will, and Dustin elbowed each other in a silent fight for more space by her side. At the end of the couch, Max, Lucas and Erica found a way to position themselves without struggling too much. It was so crowded that poor Suzy had to sit on an old puff that Steve had bought in a garage sale when you moved in together ("It'll come in handy one day, you'll see!" Steve exclaimed while he walked off the sale holding the object, victoriously), right at Dustin's feet. On one side of the sofa, Eddie was slouched on the armrest, while Nancy sat on the other, as put-together as ever. Near her, Jonathan leaned against the apartment's wall, chatting with Argyle and Eden.
Amelia was carefully handed to Dustin, who sat in the middle of the couch. You figured it was the best position to have everyone look at her, an democratic decision, but it was still possible to hear Eddie complaining under his breath.
Your daughter got used to Dustin's hold fast, only shifting her tiny body over his arms a couple of times to find her position. When she did, Amy made one of those adorable baby sounds, showing everyone that she was incredibly satisfied now; and it was like the world had stopped for all of them. The only thing that mattered was to witness baby Harrington simply exist. Feasting your eyes on the scene, you hold Steve's waist, hugging him from behind as you rest your face against his arm, not being able to battle the tears that filled your eyes. Your heart was swelling with pride.
"She's pretty," El murmured, her voice sounding even quieter now, as her eyes sparkled at the sight of the little one.
With a trembling voice, Dustin agreed, "She is very pretty".
"Yeah," Will says as he watches Millie yawn, "She looks just like you, Y/N".
"Lucky for her," Mike and Max remark in unison, immediately glaring at each other with narrowed eyes. That makes everyone laugh, and baby Amelia opens up her eyes to check it out, opening a toothless grin after. Max, feeling as if her witty remark was stolen by the boy, adds, "It'd be such a shame if she had Steve's dead-fish stare. Thank God she has Y/N's eyes, too".
At that, your husband gawks at her, letting out an offended gasp. He's so upset that his mouth hangs open, as he looks at her, in complete silence. Catching his incredulity, Max only shrugs, as if to say, "What can I do?".
"Well, at least she has his hair," Lucas observes, mediating the situation, as usual.
"Thank you, Lucas!" Steve breathes out, feeling he got the justice he deserved.
The bickering soon faded into a familiar silence, as everyone's attention fell fully on your little girl, who slept peacefully in Dustin's arms, completely ignoring the commotion around her. And that was when the emotional weight of the moment fell on all of you. Glistened eyes watched in tranquility as the baby squirmed every once in a while, as the importance of the scene settled. Amelia's sole existence reassured you of a peace that you hadn't known in years, as if she was the last step in sealing the serene fate that awaited all of you. She was living proof that life is still normal, and despite all the hard times, it isn't all that bad, actually.
Seeing those grown-up kids taking care of a small piece of you and Steve filled your heart with delight, and a different sense of fulfillment that you hadn't known until now. It's so meaningful.
The nostalgia of seeing their sweet faces intensified when the kids started to argue about who was going to hold Amelia next, and suddenly the apartment was filled with loud chattering all over again. Just like the old times… but, somehow, better.
"Jonathan, look!" Nancy points out to little Amelia scrunching her nose, as if to suggest that he should snap a picture of the baby like that. Now, the kid was laying in Robin's arms, having her full head of hair brushed by Auntie Bobby – the lame nickname was picked by Steve, of course. "What a cute little nose you have, Amy!"
The oldest Wheeler compliments the baby in a high-pitched tone, as if the girl would actually understand. By her side, Jonathan kept taking pictures of the baby, snapping beautiful frames with that domestic feeling that you're growing used to; he promised that he'll develop all of them later.
"When's her birthday?" Eden asks quietly, as she smooches her face against Argyle's arm, watching the baby in wonder.
"October thirty-first," Steve answers quickly, not helping himself. Ever since the baby was born, he started to cultivate this staggering need to answer anything Amelia-related, talking about her constantly as if he didn't know how to chat about anything else.
With that spaced-out way of his, like he just had snapped out of a trance by the baby's birth date, Argyle lets out a chuckle, looking down at Millie with… respect, it seemed. "Ooh, Scorpio. Cool, man".
Then, everyone falls back into silence, just appreciating her small features and lovable babbles. However, Steve seems a little skeptical about how cool it is for his kid to be a Scorpio, and he slowly turns his head to look at you, giving Argyle a bit of a side-eye when he does so. "What did he mean by that? Isn't that, like, bad?" he whispers to you, still watching your friends interact with Amelia from the corner of his eyes.
"No!" you immediately reassure him, telling a little half-truth, "It just means that she's very… sweet".
Steve seems satisfied by your answer, mainly because he doesn't ask any further questions, and he goes back to keeping his eyes on Robin, making sure that she's holding your kid correctly. It isn't his fault that she has spaghetti arms, alright?
Eddie soon joins in, though he doesn't look very pleased about it, walking to stand in front of Robin with an exasperated expression on his face. He crossed his arms in front of his chest, looking down at the girl. You watch the scene unfold with confusion.
"Well?" he asks, lifting his eyebrows as if he is waiting for something, though he doesn't say what it is.
Rob looks up, still playing with the baby's hair, pursing her lips while she waits for Eddie to explain why he is interrupting her moment with Amelia. From over her shoulder, Vicky makes funny faces at the small girl, making loud squeals come out of your daughter's mouth.
When he doesn't say anything, Robin asks, "What, Munson?", blinking her eyes vigorously as she tilts her head.
"You're taking too long!" he tells her like that was the only answer possible. "It's been fifteen minutes already, it's my turn!"
After Eddie's little protest (thankfully, he didn't feel the need to get on top of your table this time), everyone took turns holding baby Millie in their arms. You didn't mind it, because you knew that your friends were just very excited to be meeting your daughter for the first time, but you cannot say the same for Steve. He was hating every second of it.
"Y/N, I can't take it," he breathes out once he pulls you to the side, hiding with you in the kitchen, away from prying ears, "They're passing her around like a joint".
"Relax, Stevie," you try to calm him down, though it's useless. Spying into the living room again, you see that Amelia is laying in Eleven's arms, which warms your chest a little. "El's rocking her to sleep, there's no prob-"
You quickly stop talking when Mike takes the baby from his girlfriend's grasp, having a hard time managing his long limbs around the kid's small frame. Eyes widening, you look to Steve, wanting to catch his reaction to the scene.
And he's fuming.
But just as he is getting ready to stomp his way over to Michael, you hold his arm, keeping him back and away from the kids. "Give them a break," is how you begin to reason with him, "he's getting the hang of it".
"Well, my daughter shouldn't be their little guinea pig," he huffs back, crossing his arms.
"Don't be like that," you persuade. "You didn't know how to hold her either, and now you're, like, a pro. Right?".
His hardened expression seems to melt at your compliment – Steve always feels so elated whenever people praise his parenting skills, especially when it comes from you. Your husband's cheeks flush a little, and he looks down, a bit bashful.
"You mean it?" he asks, playing with the loose seems of his yellow sweater.
"Of course, I mean it," giggling, you get closer to him, wrapping your arms around his waist as you pull him in for a hug. "She's so lucky to have you as her dad. Actually, we're so lucky to have you in our lives".
He chuckles a little, pleased to still gain such flattery from you. From where you stood, you can clearly see the timid redness that cripples from his neck up to his cheeks, which makes him seem even more adorable in your eyes. But even his striking looks didn't distract you from the intimate feeling of his hand resting over the small of your back, drawing you closer for a sweet peck on the lips. It's funny how still after all this time, Steve was able to make you feel endless electricity and warmth just by the simple touch of his lips.
Unfortunately for you, the pleasant moment was ruined by someone clearing their throat. Pulling apart from the kiss, you and Steve looked ahead, catching Eddie and Dustin's embarrassed faces after interrupting.
"Hey, so, hm…", Dustin starts, clearly not knowing how he should start, still very awkward succeeding the scene they had just break in on.
"We have settled on who should be Amy's godfather, and we swear-", Eddie cuts in, talking at full speed. But before he could get on with their (definitely) deep and sensible reasoning, you hear Steve groaning. "Jesus, guys. Not this again".

Season Two Halloween AU Part Eight
Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four, Part Five, Part Six Part Seven
Synopsis: What if Eddie had been at Tina's Halloween Party in Season Two? Featuring Steve!Whump, Stancy Breakup, and Eddie just trying to keep up with all these new revelations about who King-Steve actually is...
As always, thank you thank you to the lovely Jess @strangersteddierthings for letting me brainstorm and send spoilers!
***
Eddie pulls gently on the strap of Dustin's safety goggles, trying as much as he can not to snag his curls in the process.
Almost everyone is decked out in their make-shift protective gear, with bandanas over their mouths, swim goggles --hell, even an old diving mask that Lucas found in the Byers basement. Mike won the painters mask, even though it's slightly too big on his little face.
When Eddie asks if all of this is really necessary, Dustin, Lucas, and Mike all glare ferociously at him before shouting over top of one another about how the Upside Down is toxic and that Will had been lucky last year, and to stop being an idiot.
Eddie looks to Max who shrugs and pulls down her own swimming goggles over her eyes.
"Don't look at me, I'm new here remember?" She mutters, walking towards the pile of various items the kids brought with them. She grabs a pair of rubber gloves and tosses them at Eddie who manages to catch one while the other falls limply into the dirt.
"They went in full body suits last year, on oxygen, to save Will," Dustin adds, his voice slightly muffled by the floral scarf wrapped around his face, "as little exposed skin as you can, it isn't safe".
Eddie can't help but picture the last Sci-Fi pulp story he read in a zine with government conspiracies and men in yellow suits investigating supposed 'crash sites' in the desert.
He shivers and pulls his own black bandana from his back pocket to put on.
Steve hasn't moved since they parked and hauled everything out of the van for their descent.
He sits in the sliding side door of the van with his head between his knees and the bat between his hands. Steve had insisted on coming with them, despite the fact that he'd only just managed to stop vomiting about five minutes ago and the nausea is still kicking his ass.
Stubborn idiot.
Eddie shakes his head as he turns back to Dustin to find the kid has wandered closer, standing right beside him now.
"He's dating Nancy," Dustin says quietly, tipping his head towards Steve as surreptitiously as he can.
Eddie freezes at the words and tries to keep his face blank in the way he's seen Steve do, he's not sure he's managed it but the way Dustin rolls his eyes.
Eddie opens his mouth to respond, with what he isn't sure of given the chorus of shitshitshitshitshit playing on a loop in his head.
Dustin beats him to it.
"But Mike told me they've been fighting lately, if it helps?"
Eddie just stares, his mind running a mile a minute, his eyes search Dustin's face for any hint of malice or disgust. But there's nothing.
"You don't…care?" Eddie says slowly, softly, he looks around to the other kids to see if anyone else is listening.
They all continue to argue and bicker over the equipment except for Max who has walked over to Steve to hand him a pair of rubber gloves. She leans down and tilts her head to look at Steve who still hasn't moved from his position in the van door.
Dustin shrugs, "why should I? I know what people say about it, but you protected us, you stayed," he looks at Eddie with fierce blue eyes, "bullies talk a lot of shit about other people for what they like".
"And you're not bad Eddie, you're good, just like everyone here".
Eddie blinks trying to ignore the tightness in his chest at the words and the sting behind his eyes.
'You're a good kid Ed, that's all that matters,' Wayne had told him the day he came out. 'And I'll love you no matter what'.
So that was at least two people who didn't think he was the town 'freak' -- but a stubborn image of Steve's expression that night by the pool comes to mind as he vehemently argued against being scared of Eddie during the now infamous Halloween party.
Three people then.
"If it helps, he wouldn't shut up about Dallas after he and Nance watched the Outsiders last year so," Dustin shrugs again, this time with the slightest teasing grin.
Eddie is overcome with such a strong feeling of fondness for the kid that he reaches out and pulls Dustin into a one armed hug that's really more of a headlock than anything else. Eddie takes off Dustin's hat to ruffle his hair before putting it back on and tugging it down over the kids eyes, he snorts at the squawk that Dustin makes in response.
"Dallas huh?" he says with a grin before clearing his throat, "I've always been more partial to a pretty boy myself".
He laughs as Dustin pushes him off muttering under his breath, "everyone's obsessed with relationships," which only makes Eddie laugh harder.
Maybe it's the hysteria of the situation, maybe it's the exhaustion loosely wrapping itself around his hands, but in this moment Eddie lets himself push away why they are standing in the middle of this field in the pitch dark, and lets himself reach out for what was previously impossible.
He claps Dustin on the back and tips his head towards the rest of the party getting ready.
"How distracting can you be?" Eddie asks in a low conspiratorial voice.
Dustin frowns, his eyes dart from where Max is struggling to pull on a second blue rubber glove after getting the first one on to where Steve is finally managing to sit up in the van, pulling on the gloves Max left him with, and rolls his eyes again.
"Yeah, yeah, you get five minutes," Dustin drops his voice slightly, and if it's an imitation of Eddie barking orders at the kids earlier, it's pretty good actually.
Eddie huffs and sends Dustin a wink before turning on his heel and making his way to the van.
Steve has managed to finally sit up properly and in the moonlight it appears that the green caste to his face is also gone. He looks up as Eddie approaches, and sends him a wane smile.
"How you feeling?" Eddie says softly. He crouches down on the balls of his feet so he and Steve are at eye level and reaches out for his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. It's as though a dam has burst ever since he was able to gather Steve in his arms in the van, he can't stop reaching out for him.
"Like my head has a pulse," Steve answers after a moment, "kinda how it felt after Jon cleaned my clock last year, but worse".
He shrugs and gives Eddie a small smile that stretches his split lip until a small bead of red appears, Steve winces and swipes his hand over the cut, "I'm kinda hoping it doesn't become a yearly thing, you only get so many concussions ya know?"
No Eddie doesn’t know, but he was also never a jock, dodging elbows, or balls, or apparently monsters in the woods on the regular.
He looks back at the kids, only to see Dustin pointing at the watch on his wrist; even in the dark Eddie can read Dustin's expression.
Hurry up.
Eddie swallows roughly and turns back to Steve, who doesn't move his gaze quickly enough to hide his own stare.
The wistful pinch of Steve's brow is still there, plain as day, and it cements Eddie's decision.
He leans closer, close enough that his nose is nearly touching Steve's own.
"I need to tell you something, and I need you to let me get through it because we don't have a lot of time, okay?"
Steve blinks once, his wide hazel eyes search Eddie's face as he slowly nods, his mouth opens but Eddie reaches up and presses his palm to gently cover it.
"You caught me off guard before," he whispers quickly, before Steve can move the hand on his mouth, "when you told me about your Nonna".
He sees Steve's eyes go even wider and feels him freeze under his hand, but he has to keep going.
"And I thought, you couldn't possibly be saying what I thought you'd were saying, I couldn't--"
Eddie forces himself to meet Steve's gaze this time, as though he could simply transfer his thoughts directly, save himself the embarrassment of trying to make the words come.
He takes a deep breath in, releasing it slowly through his nose.
"I couldn't let myself hope, not then".
"But when I thought you were dead on the floor, that Billy had broken you into a million pieces and we would never be able to put you back together again and I realized," Eddie moves his hand now, letting it travel along Steve's jaw, to the back of his head. He swipes his thumb along the crest of Steve's cheekbone and tries not to let the way the other man holds his breath deter him.
"That I might not get another chance to be that person your Nonna told you about, if I didn't tell you how I felt".
Steve blinks again and Eddie halts, letting go of Steve completely as he watches the wide hazel eyes grow shiny in the moonlight.
Oh fuck.
Steve's nose flares slightly with how rapidly he's breathing and his mouth opens and closes in quick succession as he seems to struggle to find the words to respond.
"I--"
"Steve! Eddie!" Mike calls out from behind them, "we are running out of time! Let's go!"
Eddie curses under his breath and whirls around; Mike stands at the edge of the cavern, his hands on his hips in a similar position to one Steve held earlier, the painter's mask pulled up to reveal the irritated frown on his face.
Dustin has his own face in his hand but looks up soon enough to offer Eddie a resigned shrug.
He catches Max watching the exchange with curious eyes, her face tilting between Eddie, Dustin, Mike, and Steve, but he can't think about that now.
Not with Steve pushing himself up from the van on unsteady legs, he brushes past Eddie, reaching up with a shaking hand to pinch his nose.
Eddie darts a hand out to catch Steve's elbow, halting his path.
Steve lets him.
Eddie takes a step closer, wracking his brain, trying to figure out what he could have said to make Steve so upset, had he read him wrong after all, had he overstepped somehow?
"Steve," he says softly, his grip on Steve's elbow is loose but steady as he pulls him closer.
Steve doesn't turn to look at Eddie but he doesn't move away either.
"What the hell is the hold up assholes!" Mike barks out again and Eddie lets himself throw a dirty glare at the kid, which Mike merely rolls his eyes at.
The attitude on these kids.
Mike does eventually turn, pulled by Dustin, back to the rope that Lucas is securing to the nearby fencepost, hopefully distracted for long enough to let Eddie figure this out.
But before he can say anything, Steve is pulling himself away from the grip on his elbow, “Eddie--”
"Please,” the word falls out of his mouth, desperate, louder than he wants, “please Steve, just, promise me we'll talk”.
Steve turns his face slightly, just enough that Eddie knows he sees him.
His eyes are no longer wet, but still red rimmed, his nose slightly pink, the same way he looked that night at the halloween party sitting on that rock in the dark.
“Okay,” Steve whispers into the night air, quickly and quietly before he presses forward.
Eddie lets him go, his empty hand drops limply at his side as he watches Steve make his way back to the kids. He snatches an unused pair of goggles from the nearly empty pile on the ground and checks the post where Lucas had secured the rope.
Eddie watches from the sidelines as Steve seamlessly moves back into Babysitter mode, and while some part of Eddie is relieved at this, he can’t help but miss the way it felt to hold Steve, to put him back together again.
Even if it was just for a moment.
Part Nine Now Up!

I love nothing more than all the adults just deciding to adopt Steve - add to that the moms all adoring Eddie and you have my favorite shit. (TW mentions of child abuse)
You would think Claudia Henderson was the first mother to fall for Steve Harrington’s charm but it isn’t. It isn’t even Karen Wheeler, who met him while he was dating Nancy. No, it’s Joyce Byers. She met Steve when he was young, still in elementary school, and he had come into Melvald’s to get groceries when his parents had left him home alone. After seeing him come in multiple times without a parent in sight she started slowly taking care of him; she knew that she couldn’t push herself into his life, he was clearly uncomfortable with talking about his home life. Over time she was able to sneak food into his bags of purchases and then she would gift him “hand-me-downs” from “Jonathan” in the winter so he wouldn’t freeze.
Hopper was next. Steve was in 8th grade by the time they met. Steve had been friends with Tommy Hagan for a few years by then, but Tommy had finally convinced him to throw a party and the party very quickly got out of hand. Hop was called to the Harrington house for a noise complaint and he broke up the party. He did notice that Steve got visibly uncomfortable when he said he had to call his parents but procedure was procedure. He threw out procedure when a few days later he saw Steve in town with a black eye and a bruise around his wrist. From then on out he would always answer calls to the Harrington’s and he never called his parents again, he would stick around and make sure Steve was okay and had medicine for the hangover he was sure to have. He couldn’t do much, wouldn’t do much with the pain of Sarah still so raw, but he did what he could.
Karen Wheeler came next, endlessly endeared to Steve when he showed up to take Nancy on a date. Ted hated him, and she could agree that Steve appears self centered but she witnessed small moments that made her realize he wasn’t completely who he tried to appear to be. She would notice him flinch minutely when Ted snapped at the kids, or the well covered bruises when she heard his parents were in town. He was also kind and doting to Nancy which made her like him more. Karen was sad when she heard they broke up but Steve never stopped coming around, just this time he was there for Mike instead.
Claudia Henderson was suspicious of Steve at first. Her Dusty was different than other kids, she never had the money to get him seen by a professional and get a name for what was so different in his brain, but she knew that children were mean to him for it - she hated that he was bullied because he was such a wonderful kid with so much brain it made her head spin. Steve was 5 years older and had a reputation around town but the first time Dustin invited him over for dinner was the day she decided that she had two sons. Steve was polite and kind, he brought flowers to thank her for letting him stay and eat her food, and he and Dustin bickered but Steve so clearly cared about her son. Then Steve showed up at her house with a bloody nose and a split lip and a distinctly hand shaped mark on his cheek and asked to spend the night and he was solidified as one of her kids forever, even if he and Dustin stop being as close as they are.
The Sinclair’s don’t know Steve as well, but they hear about him constantly, first from Lucas and then from Lucas AND Erica. They figure if Erica likes him then he’s an okay kid, and he’s never been anything but kind when they have met him.
Wayne Munson is the last to meet Steve, and it takes him the longest to warm up to Steve. He had spent years listening to Eddie complain about people like Steve, and even Steve himself, so when he started showing up at his trailer all the time, Wayne was suspicious to say the least. Eddie kept telling him that he wasn’t who he was in high school, he even went on a tangent at one point about how Steve was just trying to survive the only way he knew how, but Wayne didn’t buy it; he knew Steve’s parents, and he figured that Steve had to be like them. Even when he saw how kind Steve was to Eddie, to the kids, to that Robin girl he’s always with, he still didn’t trust him. Funny enough, the moment that changed that for him wasn’t in his trailer, where Steve practically lived by then. No, it was at Family Video. Wayne had stopped by to get a movie for he and Eddie while Eddie was at work, and he didn’t see anyone at the desk when he walked in but he heard voices in the back room that he recognized as the Robin girl and Steve. She was clearly upset with him for something but it took him a moment to gather what.
“You can’t hide this stuff from us- from me! You and me, Steve, we do not hide things.”
“I know, Rob, I just- I didn’t want to burden anyone, okay? You weren’t supposed to find out, especially like this- ow, be gentle! My nose was broken a week ago, you could clean it softly, you know.”
“I am so mad at you right now, Steve, do not push me. You’ve been living out of your car for the past week-“ Wayne was definitely surprised at this point because he knows that the Harrington’s have a big house, “-and your dad gave you a concussion. What is this, number 5?”
“Okay, fine, yeah that part was stupid. I should have said something about the concussion. But what was I supposed to do? I don’t even know who told them about me and Eddie-“ He and Eddie? What about them, that they’re friends? It made sense in some way, to Wayne at least, that the Harrington’s would be upset about their son hanging out with Eddie but living in his car seems extreme. “-and the things he was saying…. I couldn’t listen to it, I had to say something. Even if it meant that I got kicked out and disowned.”
“Have you even told Eddie?”
“Absolutely not, he would blame himself and then offer to let me stay and I know Wayne barely tolerates me - not that I blame him, but it still sucks, I want him to like me. Me and Eddie… I feel like forever with him and if Wayne doesn’t even like me now, how would he respond to finding out the rest of it?” Everything seemed to click together for Wayne and he heard a sniff from the backroom like someone was trying not to cry. He himself felt like crying, because this boy had clearly been through a lot and someone had apparently outed him to his parents who beat him and kicked him out. Before Wayne could even recover from that bombshell the backroom door was swinging open and he was making eye contact with Steve Harrington. “Wayne-! I didn’t-Hi, uh, how long have you been in the store?”
“Long enough. Come by the trailer tonight and we’ll figure out where your stuff can go. You should probably call Ed though and let him know.” Wayne nodded his head and started to leave, very uncomfortable with the tension in the store, but he stopped to say one last thing as he was leaving. “As long as you and my boy take care of each other, you and I are gonna get along fine.”
Steve ended up moving into the trailer that night and Wayne gained a new perspective on him. They began watching sports together and he got to see the love his nephew had for Steve and vice versa clearly.
For Eddie, Joyce was also the first (she seemed to just collect sad kids). He had moved to Hawkins to live with Wayne only a few weeks before and he wandered into Melvald’s for some snacks. His hair was just starting to grow again and it was all sitting awkwardly on top of his head, his curls making strange shapes. Joyce took one look at him and was brought back to how Steve had looked all those years ago, how she and her kids were before Lonnie left, and she decided to step in again. She started by giving him some tips for his hair and then, just like with Steve, she started sneaking him little things over time. When she came back from California after Vecna they met again and she was so glad to see him, so happy that he seemed to fit in his own skin.
Claudia came next, unsurprisingly. The loud music and the distinct skunk-like odor that stuck to him (Claudia wasn’t stupid, she knew what that was) made her nervous. But after having known Steve for a couple years by then, she knew better than to judge from appearances and she was correct. Eddie was like another brother for Dustin, but while Steve complimented Dustin’s quirks and nerdy interests, Eddie shared them all and they seemed to feed off of each other’s energy. He was energetic and kind to her Dusty, and that is all she could ask for him to have in life.
The Sinclairs came to like Eddie after that, mostly for the same reasons that they liked Steve, but also because they had been told that Eddie nearly died to protect their kids.
Karen Wheeler always struggled being around Eddie despite how nice he was to her and to her kids - he reminded her of a mistake she once almost made with another boy who liked his music loud and angry. She did appreciate how Eddie managed to calm Mike’s angry outbursts, he pushed Nancy out of her comfort zone, he even let Holly braid his hair a couple times. Her favorite thing about him was how happy he made Steve (her soft spot for Steve hadn’t faded with time and seeing him so happy was a joy).
Hopper was the last to warm up to Eddie, not for lack of trying. Hopper knew that he should be more understanding, but since he had become a father again his paternal instincts had gotten worse. He hadn’t even realized that he saw Steve like that until Joyce made a comment about Steve and Eddie being close and he felt something oddly similar to what he experienced with Mike and El. He knew about Steve’s history with abandonment and alcohol and drugs, he also knew about Eddie’s tendency to run and his “job” in the woods. Hopper tried to remember that Joyce knew the kid, had said that he wouldn’t hurt a fly, but his instincts were telling him that Eddie was a bad influence. That didn’t change completely until he found out that Steve had apparently been kicked out because someone told his parents that he was dating Eddie and he had been living in his car for a week. He then found out that as soon as they found out, the Munsons had taken Steve in without hesitation - and Eddie had even slashed a couple tires at the Harrington house (Hopper pretended that he didn’t know that because he refused to press charges on the Harrington’s behalf). Hearing that Eddie had taken care of Steve when Hop hadn’t even known he needed it settled his nerves and put Eddie into his heart.

Chapter 2: The Weirdo on Maple Street
Summary: As Will Byers' older sister, you have a responsibility to protect him. When you fail, you have to go through the process of getting him back safely. Between fighting inter-dimensional monsters, a girl with superpowers, and getting your brother back, you might just end up falling in love along the way.
Pairings: Steve Harrington x Byers!reader
Word Count: 3.3K (someone teach me how to write more)
Warnings (entire series): cursing, angst, gore/violence (in the later seasons), fem!reader, enemies to lover (sorta), any other warnings from the show
—
By the end of the night, Joyce and Jonathan have both fallen asleep while you’re wide awake.
Getting out of bed, and walking into the kitchen to get some water, you hear a small knock on the door.
Realizing how late it is, you cautiously walk towards the door when you can faintly hear voices bickering.
“We don’t need her”
“But she could help us!”
“Yeah c’mon Mike”
Rolling your eyes, you quietly open the door and step outside to talk to them.
“What are you guys doing here?”
All three of them looked up at you, Dustin saying “We need your help.”
—
The boys dragged you out of the house and biked through the rain to the Wheeler's house.
Walking down the stairs and into the basement you see another kid sitting on the couch, soaking wet, and in a large t-shirt.
“Who’s that?” you whisper to no one in particular
Lucas turns to you and says, “We…don’t know”
Asking the boys to fill you in on everything that happened, they tell you that they were out in the woods searching for Will, which you scolded them for, and how they found this girl just wandering around so they brought her here.
With this knowledge, you turn to the girl who looks so fragile and scared, your sister instincts kicking in, and softly say, “Hi, sweetie. Is there a number we could call for you?”
At the same time, all three boys burst out with questions.
“Where’s your hair?”
“Do you have cancer?”
“Dustin!”
“Are you in trouble?”
“Is that blood?”
Sensing that all their questions were probably making her uncomfortable you speak up, “Stop it, boys. You’re scaring her”
“She’s scaring me!” Lucas yells out
“Okay, enough. Mike, do you have some clothes she could borrow?”
Mike walks over to a laundry basket that has been sitting on the table. Grabbing a shirt and a pair of pants and walking over to the little girl.
“Here. These are clean.”
She takes the clothes out of Mike’s hands and stands up, lifting her shirt. Ready to undress herself in front of all of you.
You rush to her side, “No, no, no! Come with me.” leading her over to the bathroom, “You can change in here, okay?”
You go to close the door behind her, when all of a sudden, she stops you.
“No,” she says looking you in the eyes for the first time
With a bit of shock from hearing her voice, you say, “Okay… um, what if I leave the door like… this” leaving the door cracked open a bit “And I'll be standing right here when you’re done. Is that better?”
“Yes,” she says quietly
Giving her a small nod you turned around facing the boys, who were bickering about god knows what.
“At least she can talk,” Mike says
“She said ‘yes’ and ‘no’. Your 3-year-old sister can say more than that” Lucas rebuttals
He continues by saying that she’s probably a psycho who escaped from Pennhurst, but you feel that it isn't fair to judge the girl because she’s a bit odd.
Sure she has a shaved head and tried to undress in front of the boys but that doesn’t make her a psycho.
“She’s not psycho, Lucas. She’s just scared.”
Ignoring you he went on, “I think we should tell your mom” he directed at Mike, Dustin jumping in, “I second that”
While they start coming up with a plan that you don't necessarily agree with, you feel a small tap on my shoulder. Turning around to face the girl, you see her dressed in the clothes Mike gave her.
“You ok?” you ask as she nods in response
You could tell she was a bit uncomfortable so to make her feel better you decided to play around a little bit.
“Alright, I have to go now but if you need anything just ask Mike. If he doesn’t listen just let me know and I'll take care of him,” you say with a small smile, just to let her know you were joking and thankfully she understands and gives you a small smile of her own.
You have to admit, she was a cute little girl. You could already tell you would come to love her just as much as you love the boys.
—
The next morning you walk out to find Jonathan making breakfast for you and Joyce, who was sitting at the dining room table with a lit cigarette already in her hand.
“Thank you,” you say with a small smile once breakfast is done
Joyce talks about wanting you both to make copies of the poster you made of Will.
“Listen, the Xerox place opens in, like, 30 minutes. But I don’t want you both going alone so I asked Karen if she could take you.”
Walking up to stand next to her, you put an arm on her shoulder and say, “Mom, we’ll be fine”
You knew how anxious she could get in general but with Will now missing she would be extra protective.
“N-no, how much is a copy? Ten cents? If we…”
“Mom. Mom. Mom!” Jonathan bursts out, grabbing her shoulders to get her to look at him, “You can’t get like this, okay?”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry…”
You rub her shoulders, trying to comfort her or at least get her to calm down, “It’s okay, Momma”
—
Jonathan made about 300 copies before you both headed off to spread them around town.
You had stopped at a few places before you decided to go to school and put some up on the bulletin boards.
“Okay, I’ll get the one by the gym,” You say as you both walk through the doors
“And I’ll stay around here. We’ll meet back here soon”
Walking away, you make your way to the other side of the school towards the gym. Quickly pining up the poster, trying not to stare at Will’s face for too long in fear of crying in the middle of the hallway.
It’s still so weird to accept that your brother is missing.
As you’re walking back to the front of the school you see Jonathan standing by the bulletin board.
You go to approach him but when you do, a specific group of people catch your eye.
Getting closer you see Steve Harrington (aka King Steve or ‘The hair’ Harrington) and his entourage, Tommy Hagan and Carol Perkins, and next to them, Nancy Wheeler and Barbra Holland.
Steve might just be the worst of them all. You can’t deny he’s good looking but he’s still an asshole. A good-looking asshole. You were ashamed to admit your previous crush on him before he became a douch.
You could handle Tommy with a quick snarky comeback and Carol was just a plain bitch.
Nancy and Barbra aren’t a part of their little group but Nancy’s “dating” Steve and Barbra is her best friend. You’re actually good friends with Nancy considering your brothers are best friends.
You both used to be friends when you were younger and she was always nice towards you. What you couldn’t understand is why a nice girl like her would date a douchebag like Harrington.
“Oh, god, that's depressing” you hear Steve say.
Their conversation continues, “Should we say something?”
“I don’t think he speaks,” Carol says mockingly
“How much you wanna bet he killed him?”
With anger flowing through you, you push your way past them, purposely knocking your shoulder into Tommy. Talking loud enough for them to hear “You guys don’t always have to be such assholes”
“Bitch,” He states loudly, glaring at the back of your head as if that would somehow affect you
Unphased by his comment, you continue towards Jonathan.
“How are we doing?”
“Good. I got the one by the teacher's lounge. I was thinking…” He cuts himself off and looks behind you. Turning around you see Nancy making her way over to you.
“Hey,”
“Oh, hey”
“I just… I wanted to say, you know, um… I’m sorry about everything” She says nodding her head toward the poster on the wall
“Everyone’s thinking about you” now facing me, “Both of you”
This is the most interesting thing to happen in Hawkins in years so of course people would be interested. You’re trying very hard not to roll your eyes considering she was trying to be nice, unlike other people
“It sucks,” Nancy continues
“Yeah,”
Well that was awkward, you thought
The bell rings and Nancy immediately turns to leave, almost too quickly “I have to go… Chem quiz”
The PA system came on as you were both walking out.
“Attention, faculty, and students. At 8:00 pm tonight, there will be an assembly on the football field in support of Will Byers and his family”
—
Getting back in the car, you figured Jonathan would start driving home considering Joyce was waiting for you guys, but instead, he started driving in the opposite direction towards the edge of town.
“Where are we going?”
Jonathan stared straight ahead, not taking his eyes off the road as he sighed, “Lonnie’s”
When you hear his name, you inhale sharply. You really don’t like visiting your “dad”, if you could even call him that. He was never there for any of you, and when he was, he spent all of his time finding something to fight about.
You could always see the sadness on Will’s face when Lonnie never showed up or forgot about him.
You and Jonathan were used to it at this point but you will always resent him for making your baby brother feel that way.
“But I thought Hopper said to let him handle it?”
“He did, but we’re not going to just sit around when we could be helping”
As expected, Jonathan’s doing everything he can to find Will and you’d be stupid if you didn’t help him.
—
Pulling up to Lonnie’s house, you realize that you’ve never been here before.
Staring at the house that seemed to be just a bit larger than yours, you’re hesitant to go in but you know you need to. For Will.
As Jonathan gets out of the car, and you follow him, he says “You don’t have to come with me. I know you don’t want to see him.”
“No…no, I’m going with you. No way in hell am I leaving you alone with him”
You both walk up to the door, Jonathan having to pound on it due to the music blasting inside.
He was about to knock again when a young lady, who looked no older than 27, appeared and opened the door.
“Can I help you?”
Jonathan looked at you for a few seconds before looking back at her “Yeah, is Lonnie around?”
“Yeah, he’s out back. What do you want?”
This time you take initiative and push the door open enough for both you and Jonathan to be able to get into the house.
“Just to look around,” She goes to protest but you quickly cut her off, “We’ll be fast,”
You and Jonathan split up while searching around the house. Calling out Will’s name in hopes that he’ll magically appear.
You have been searching for at least a minute when you hear a lot of commotion in the hallway, you rush out of the room you're in, only to see Lonnie pushing Jonathan up against a wall in a chokehold.
Walking up to the both of them, you go to push Lonnie off of him but Jonathan beats you to it. “Get off!”
“Damn, you’ve gotten stronger,” Lonnie says under his breath while his “girlfriend” exclaims “Will someone please explain what the hell is going on?”
Staring between the three of them you try to distance yourself as much as possible from Lonnie. Not wanting to even be in his presence let alone right next to him.
“Y/N, Jonathan, Cynthia” Lonnie said looking between the three of you. “Cynthia, this is Y/N, my oldest, and Jonathan, my second”
He turned his attention towards you while extending his arm, trying to pull you in for a hug, but you slap his hand away,
“Don’t touch me” you say backing away even more
He lets out a humorless laugh, “You know, you look and act more like your mother every time I see you”
He isn’t entirely wrong. You are like Joyce in many ways. You’re both the same height and same stature, but you also act like her.
You are very protective of the people you love, you’re tough and can handle so much but you are also sensitive and sometimes some things are too much for you to handle.
There is one thing he’s wrong about though.
“And when do you ever see me?” You rebuttal, “Last time I checked, you never come by, you never call, and you never make any effort to do so either.”
You feel a sense of relief, finally being able to confront him, but you know that’s not what you came for.
“Listen. I am your dad, I think I deserve a little respect…” he was already losing his patience and you guys have only been there for 5 minutes.
You cut him off by letting out a humorless laugh of your own, “You are not my dad. Never have been. Never will be. All you are is a self-centered jerk”
His face turns cold and he starts walking towards you but Jonathan pulls him back just in time and turns to you.
Jonathan wanted to fight back but he knew that if he did, it would’ve provoked Lonnie even more and it wouldn’t end well so instead he walked out to the backyard with you and Lonnie following him.
The both of you walked toward Lonnie's car, Jonathan walking over to the trunk and opening it up, hating that his mind would even think to check there but he had to.
“Really?” Lonnie asks “You wanna check up my ass, too? I told you the same things I told those cops, he’s not here”
“Then why didn’t you call Mom back”
“I don’t know, I just figured she couldn’t find him. That boy never was very good at taking care of himself”
You were starting to get angry at his continuous digs toward Joyce and Will. “This isn’t some joke, okay?”
“There are search parties, reporters…” Jonathan trails off
“Hopper’s not still chief is he?”
You both say nothing causing Lonnie to shake his head in disgust.
“Look, all I'm saying is, maybe I'm not the asshole, alright?”
There was a quick moment of silence before you reached into your bag and pulled out one of the posters, shoving it into Lonnie’s chest and walking away, Jonathan following behind you
“In case you forgot what he looks like”
—
After leaving Lonnie’s house and arriving back in Hawkins, Jonathan said there was something he had to do. He wouldn’t say what it was or where he was going so you just asked him to drop you off at home.
Walking through the front door you find Joyce sleeping on the chair with the phone sitting on her lap. It was seconds after you walk in that the phone rings and Joyce jumps up and answers it.
“Hello?” after a couple of seconds of silence she tries again “Hello? Who is this?”
You stare at her waiting to see who’s on the other line.
“Will?” She whispers, starting to cry and you let out a gasp. If it really was Will on the other line, you might be able to find him. You might have hope.
“Will, it’s me. Talk to me. I’m here.”
You could faintly hear static on the other line and getting closer to the phone you heard a whisper, “Mom?” Joyce gasps and loses her footing but you’re able to hold her and keep her steady.
“Will! Yes, it’s me. It’s me.”
You’re in shock that Will was actually speaking to you guys and that he’s still alive.
“Mom, is it really him?” you had started crying at this point, praying that it was Will on the other end of the line. Joyce looked at you, the phone still attached to her face, and nodded at you with tears streaming down her face.
There was no denying it. It was Will.
She continues her questioning when the lights start flickering and getting brighter. You look around you watching the lights, trying to decipher their odd behavior.
The lights continue glowing brighter and brighter until eventually, they all turn off and you hear a popping sound.
You turn around looking at Joyce as she drops the phone. She bends down picking it back up only to find the receiving end burnt.
“No, no, no, no” She mutters to herself before she begins to cry out, “No!” and in a fit of rage she takes the phone in her hand and throws it to the floor, shattering.
You didn’t notice the lights flickering again until Joyce stood up and softly whispered “What?”
She began walking down the hallway as you followed. Keeping her gaze on the lights she called out, “Jonathan!” but you were quick to inform her that Jonathan wasn’t home.
Unsure of what to do, you both continue down the hall when all of a sudden, the sound of “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” by The Clash blasts through the house startling both you and Joyce.
It’s coming from Will’s room. The door was closed but through the cracks, you could see the lights flickering and could hear the sound of electricity buzzing with each flicker.
You build up the courage to lead the both of you toward Will’s door and eventually open it, slowly walking in.
Inside there was Will’s desk. One that held many memories but right now, it held the boombox that the music was blasting from, and inside it was the mixtape that you and Jonathan had made for Will. Next to it, was a lamp that was also flickering continuously.
You step towards the lamp and ask “Will? Is that you?”
The answer to your question came from the lights glowing brighter than before but in a split second, it stops.
Everything stops. The lights go dim, the music gets cut off and it’s silent for a few seconds before the wall next to the table begins to warp.
First a face, then hands trying to reach out and break through the wall which was expanding as if it was made of rubber.
You and Joyce share a petrified look on your faces before she screams and you both run out of the house towards the car.
You were hyperventilating as you jumped into the passenger seat. Joyce got in and started the car before pausing for a second.
“Mom, what are you doing? Drive!” you said, confused as to why she wasn’t trying to get the hell away from whatever was stuck in your walls.
Without saying anything, she kills the engine, takes a deep breath, and exits the car, walking back into the house.
“What the hell is happening?” you ask yourself. You weren’t going to just sit there while your mom was inside facing god knows what. So you follow her inside.
She was frantically running around the house, collecting every light she could see and before you knew it she was back in Will’s room with lights all around her.
You walk into the doorway of Will’s room and stare at her, completely convinced that Will is talking to her, and you’re not sure if you can call her crazy because after what you saw tonight, nothing’s impossible.

Rambles about Lucas Sinclair 😔
Tw: Racism mention
Recently I heard from my Professor about a discourse going on Twitter about a PhD thesis titled "Olfactory Ethics: The Politics of Smell in Modern and Contemporary Prose" by Amelia Louks, a Cambridge scholar.
To be simple, the thesis is about olfactory oppression. To quote "Olfactory oppression itself is a form of discrimination based on body odour, or smell of an individual".It is also expanded to oppressed communities at large, of course.
So, anyway, I'm not at all well versed in this topic, and I could be wrong. I don't know but it just reminded me of…
Okay, that is in Stranger Things season 2, Mike, Max and Lucas looks for Dart in the dumpster, and it is Lucas who gets into the dumpster and actually looks for him where the other characters stand outside, ready to attack if Lucas finds him.
So, right after Lucas jumps out of the dumpster, Max comments "you stink" and goes to the opposite side and stands near Dustin. I just thought, Why Lucas? Why not Max? Considering Max would have probably winced at the thought of getting into the dumpster, we have Mike, who previously had shown a lot more enthusiasm about finding Dart. So why not him? Maybe Mike bickered, leading Lucas to get into the dumpster, or simply it could have also been Lucas who agreed to do this first.
Moving on, later in the episode we have Lumax arguing about Max being treated poorly by the boys. So when Max leaves she comments “you still stink by the way” again. (Lucas smells his clothes afterwards), Which follows with Billy's Racist remarks; first he glares at Lucas as he walks away. Second, he questions Max about what she was doing with him and why she looks upset, then he continues.. by saying, and I quote, “There are certain types of people in this world that you stay away from, that kid Max… that Kid is one of them, Stay away from him you hear me? Stay away.”
What made me write this was how right after Max comments “you still stink btw”(which can be looked as an implied Racist remark), The next scene cuts to Billy throwing explicit Racist remarks at Lucas.
I'm not at all implying Max is a Racist Just thinking maybe it was intentional. Intentional by the writers, not saying max was being Intentional. Also, I didn't read the thesis entirely, only the Abstract, and I think it is mostly to do with Body Odour and Individual smells rather than someone stinking because they jumped into the dumpster. Just thought this was Interesting and I know this is a very sensitive topic. I feel like I'm just rambling at this point. Love Lucas Sinclair sooooo much(mwah mwah).
#lucas sinclair#why am i so nervous about this#if someone already did this please let me know#idk what im doing#stranger things lucas sinclair#lumax#i love lumax yall im no hater istg#don't come for me-#personal#byler target audience sorry#please give it a read and also your opinion 😭😭😭😭#byler#tw rasicm

Chapter 45: The Vacation of a lifetime
All boarded onto the plane everyone gets to their seats Mike & Dustin fighting over who should get the window seat when you settle it like a mother hen telling them you’ll flip a coin whoever wins gets the window on the way there whoever loses gets the window seat on the flight home. Dustin winning Mike sulks in his seat before Eddie flicks him in the forehead “hey perk up wheeler the wife worked hard for all of us to be here at least smile Christ kid” Mike rubs his forehead before turning to you “He’s right I'm sorry Jame I appreciate just being here but he always calls shot gun & I get the shit end of the stick” you chuckle ruffling his raven black hair “I’ll make you a deal wheeler no more bickering or sulking out of any of you & I’ll give you the surprise I have when after we settle into our rooms how’s that sound?” At this he straightens out his posture & smiles nodding his head “okay deal” Eddie laughs grabbing hold of your hand “you’re gonna be an amazing mom you know that? I’ve never seen anyone handle those 3 the way you do they love you too ya know” this makes your heart melt even more then it already has “I know that’s why they’re here Ed’s they’re an important part of who we all are & they’ve all been through so much I think everyone here deserves a nice break from the hell storms that have been our lives” “I second that shit!” Gareth shouts from across the aisle you start laughing. The flight attendants start their emergency drill announcements as we all buckle up. Eddie’s never been on a plane before & he’s very nervous so you make sure to hold his hand extra tight as the plane begins taking off as soon as it levels out you open your window & tap his shoulder “Ed’s look how beautiful the clouds are” he slowly turns his head afraid to look at first but once he gets sight of the different colors streaking the sky among the clouds his eyes twinkle & he smiles “it’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen almost as beautiful as you” kissing your cheek “I love you Ed’s” “I love you too sweetheart”. You both doze off shortly after to be woken up by Mike “hey guys we’re getting ready to land soon” you sit up giving him a thankful smile tapping Eddie “thanks Mike, hey Ed’s it’s time to wake up hun”. The landing went smoothly Eddie’s nerves being a lot calmer now that he knows he’s heading to the ground. Getting off the plane you see a long row of beautiful natives in traditional wear holding an assortment of colorful leis the younger ones faces light up at how beautiful everything is & we’re only at the airport descending down the stairs each of you is greeted by someone with a hug & kiss to the cheek & a beautiful lei Eddie looking at you as he notices the purple one that was sat around your neck. “How ironic is that sweetheart it’s your color” your eyes began to water “honey what’s wrong?” You smile grabbing his hand “when we were landing I prayed & asked mom if she can hear me to send me purple flowers & that I missed her & loved her & wished she was still here with me I think she heard me” he wipes your eyes “of course she can hear you love she watches over you all the time just like mine I swear she’s saved me on multiple occasions” you hug him tightly “alright everyone let’s go grab our bags & head to the car rental place let’s get a move on I got to find a restroom fast” “yeah me too dude I feel like I’m about to piss my pants I was too scared to use the bathroom on the plane” shouts dustin. Deciding it’d be easier to get two vehicles just in case the older ones could go exploring if they wanted you all head towards your resort Eddie guiding the group while you navigate with a map. “Okay hun we’re almost there 2 more miles” Dustin Mike & Lucas are in your vehicle & gareth Jeff & freak are in the other. Pulling into the front of the resort you decided it’d be easier to check everyone in yourself. You & Eddie in a honeymoon suite gareth Mike & Dustin in one suite & freak Jeff & Lucas in another.
Jogging back to your rental car you toss you & Eddie’s key in your seat before jogging to Gareth’s vehicle to give him a key & Jeff the key to the other “okay guys suites are set up for groups of 3 gareth you have Mike & dustin Jeff it’s you two & Lucas follow us to the parking garage & I’ll show you where we’re all staying” “okay sis you got it lead the way” you run to the car hopping in your seat “okay love rooms are set let’s go park they’re already dropping bags at the rooms Mike dustin you two are with gareth & once we get settled we’ll meet at me & Eddie’s room to discuss a few things” pulling in was a breeze as you all check out your surroundings on the way to the rooms seeing everyone look extremely excited & happy. Everyone pops into their designated rooms while you & Eddie check out your suite. Two floors with the master bedroom on a beautiful loft overlooking the ocean that has a deck attached with a shower & is connected to the crystal blue water. A room fit for royalty champagne & lots of fresh fruit & flowers full living room & kitchen & dining set “wow sweetheart you truly outdid yourself” “it’s our honeymoon Ed’s I wanted it to be special” he wraps his arms around the back of you “anywhere we’re together is special because all I’ll ever need is you” as he peppers your face in loving kisses. Your love fest is interrupted by a knock at the door “who is it?” You say warmly a weird voice booming through the crack of the door “it’s da cable guy open da door” Eddie shaking his head “fuckin Jeff damn ass clown” swinging the door open all the boys pile in chuckling “holy shit this room is INSANE!” Lucas walks around eyes wide scanning the suite “yeah seriously what did you do to get a suite this nice sell an organ?” You laugh shaking your head “boys I’ve had a large sum of money for some time I just didn’t want to touch it until I knew it was the right time hence our wedding our home & property & this vacation with you guys not to mention the business I wanna open invest some so we have something as a nest egg for the future maybe pass it down to our children still not 100% sold on what I want to do yet but when the time does come dustin I’m gonna need your genius to help me with a few things but other then that I’m glad you’re all here with us on this trip you’re all here because you hold a special place in me & Eddie’s life now I’m gonna continue but before I do Ed’s is there anything you wanted to say?” He took your hand & smiled “okay fellas let’s make this trip one for the books life’s passing us by faster than any of us could’ve anticipated new chapters are beginning big things are happening but no matter what happens we all still have each other how about a toast to me & Jamie’s new marriage this amazing trip she planned for all of us & to new beginnings & bright futures” you pull out enough glasses for everyone & a bottle of champagne & a few cans of Dr Pepper pouring sodas for yourself & the kid’s & champagne for the adults passing out glasses to everyone Eddie being the first to raise his in the center of the room “To Mr. & Mrs. Munson & to new beginnings with amazing people” “cheers” around the room dustin Mike & Lucas wanting to taste champagne for the first time but all of you laughing as they make sour faces finding somewhere to spit it out. “The kitchens to the left guys” you chuckle shaking your head once they get back mike is rocking on the balls of his feet looking at you both with anticipation “so what’s that surprise you were talking about?” You smile at him before going to your bags digging around for the 3 boxes that were meant for the boys at the wedding but beings it’s an early released item to being with your glad to have even gotten your hands on some of them. “So I’ve been in contact with my god father you 3 really remind me of him at times I’m not sure if you guys are familiar with Sega Corp but he works for them & I got my hands on some prototypes that are set to be released until next year around Christmas so…. I hope these get put to good use”
The 3 of them looking at each other with wide eyes unable to even form words as you set the 3 very large gift bags in front of them & take a seat on Eddie’s lap “Well go on open them” with that the 3 boys plop onto the floor like little ones of Christmas morning tissue paper flying in every direction until they see the consoles box sitting at the bottom slowly removing them to get a good look “No way!! This is bitchin’!” Mike is the first to break the silence Dustin looks up at you blue eyes blown wide in excitement before you could ask if he was alright he gets up bolting across the room to engulf you into a hug followed by the other two boys “this is the best day ever thank you Jamie” you’ve never seen Lucas smile so bright before & it makes you happy that you can do something special for them. “You’re welcome guys now Mike can teach El a thing or two about video games ah speaking of which I have these for everyone arcade cards basically get to play unlimited games with these something new they’re trying instead of quarters they use play cards that kind of work like bank cards oh & before i forget the receptionist at the front said they just got street fighter in so you guys are definitely gonna have a ball so go ahead have some fun & we’ll meet back here around 5:30 to head to dinner love you guys now scram I need a bath & a nap” Gareth laughs shaking his head “no worries you two I keep them in line enjoy your nap” & with that you & Eddie are finally alone. You see a glint of mischief written on his face before you know it he’s pulling you up onto the bed & begins jumping & tickling you both enjoying a moment to let loose for once. Once Eddie sees you’re getting tired he hops down heading to the bathroom to start a bubble bath for the both of you. Getting in once it’s the perfect temperature in each others arms looking at the beautiful scenery just outside the window. This is definitely one adventure that you’ll have stories to tell about for a lifetime. Here’s to forever & to a beautiful life with beautiful people making spectacular memories.

Perfect To Love Part 2
Pairing: Steve Harrington x FemReader!PlusSize
Warnings: fluff, mentions of bullying, body image issues, fat shaming, angst, trust issues.
Summary: Beth Walker was used to living in the shadows. She had only one friend and anyone else who paid her mind usually bullied her for her size. So she learned to keep her mouth shut, her head down, and her heart closed because she had to accept the fact that she would be nothing more than the fat girl to people. That is until Robin decides Beth needs more in life and that might just include a boy who she never would’ve thought could see her for who she truly was.
word count: 1,995
Part 1 ←→ Part 3
Masterlist
After Saturday Beth had dealt with enough excitement to last her for a while. By the time she had made it home she fell asleep instantly, not even having a second of time to read her book like she had planned. She found herself torn for actually liking most of the kids including Steve. She hadn’t expected that and the other part of her that hated the world was angry she even liked them at all. Yet surprisingly it was nice to actually have people to spend time with, laugh with, and not for a single second feel judged or bullied by them. She wasn’t sure she remembered the last time she had ever felt like that. In the end though it was only a one time thing so she tried to not dwell on it too much.
That was until Monday afternoon and the last thing Beth expected was all the kids hanging around her car waiting for her. The minute they saw her coming their eyes lit up and they all cheered her name. “What’re you guys doing here?”
“We were wondering if you could give us all rides?” Mike asked and Beth turned to Robin who only chuckled. It was very like the kids to not give Beth a choice, Robin had known that since Steve used to sneak them in the movie theater. They always got their way.
“As long as you’re not busy” Max said and Beth realized she was never busy. She was just going to go home and read a book. She wasn’t used to having friends or making plans.
Before Beth could respond the rev of an engine pulling beside them cut them off and they all turned to see Steve in his BMW, sunglasses hung low on his nose, and an accusing hand dangling out the window.
“I’ve been waiting for you guys out front for like 20 minutes” an exasperated sigh fell from his lips and Beth realized Steve Harrington was still pretty even when he was annoyed.
“We wanted to see if Beth would give us a ride in her corvette” Dustin defended and Steve sighed as he got out of the car.
“Beth is probably busy, you should’ve asked earlier” Steve said and Beth began to shake her head.
“I’m free, as long as you guys are good taking turns. The car only has two seats” all the kids turned to Steve, looking as if they were asking for permission, and Steve sighed before turning to Beth, his eyes softening.
“Are you sure?” he asked and Beth realized he was being extremely sincere. Something she never expected from the boy.
“Positive Harrington, I’ll even let you have a turn” she told him before patting his arm and walking off. Steve didn’t expect the soft flush of his cheeks as she said this.
“That means we can?” Lucas asked and Beth chuckled before nodding.
“Yes, now figure out who’s going first” she said and instantly the kids began to bicker, Max stepping forward as she clearly won the fight. Beth gestured her to get in and all the kids moved out of the way as the engine roared to life, much louder than Steve’s.
“Can I pick a tape?” Max asked and Beth nodded as she began to thumb through the cassettes in the center console. Finally she settled on the Frontiers album by Journey and slipped it into the tape player, Separate Ways buzzing through the speakers.
Beth went around the block, a short ride but just long enough to give the kids an idea. Max sang along to the songs and Beth found herself having easy conversation with everyone. As each of the kids took a turn, and Robin despite already riding in it, she didn’t find herself nervous at all until she saw Steve approaching the door. Suddenly she worried he’d think she was too big to fit in the car, notice how her stomach stuck out when she sat unlike most girls, and that despite how hard she’d try he’d never think anything of her. Yet he was still getting in so she gave him a soft smile as he slid in the front seat, his knees tucked up from how long they were in the small car. Beth let out a soft chuckle as he struggled to fit and she pulled down the road, Ask The Lonely clicking on the radio.
“This is a beautiful car Beth” Beth glanced over to see Steve looking at her and she smiled.
“It really is, too bad it can’t land me a date” Beth joke and Steve pushed his lips together, realizing even is she was making a joke she believed it all the same.
“Don’t do that, you shouldn’t have to earn a date based of possessions” Steves voice was serious and it instantly made Beth start to shift in her seat.
“Yeah you earn dates based off of looks” Beth muttered under her breath and Steve snapped his head in her direction, shocked by her words.
“Beth you get a date based off of good personality and if you’re saying you don’t have good looks that isn’t true. I thought you were gorgeous from the moment I met you” Beth wished that those words could mean something coming from him, that they would somehow fix her self image. Yet she couldn’t because Steve didn’t realize he already met her and he definitely did not think she was pretty.
“No you didn’t” she whispered and Steve looked over, trying to read her facial expressions since he didn’t hear what she had said.
“What was that?” he asked and Beth began to shake her head.
“Nothing” she told him and Steve sighed as he looked back out the front of the car, trying to wrap his mind around the girl beside her. For a moment they sat insilence as Steve tried to analyze what she had said, Ask the Lonely still playing softly on the radio.
This love is your obsession
Your heart, your past possession
Let down your defenses
Won’t be up to the one who cares
“Beth you’re a very pretty girl, anyone who told you different sucks” Steve finally said and he did not miss the roll of her eyes as he said this. He wished he could shake some sense into her. “Was that an eye roll?”
“Look Steve, I’ve been lied to about my looks for a very long time. I don’t need to hear it again” Steve was silent as he let her words sink in, the fact she had allowed herself to believe that being bigger made her less. She was still beautiful, there was just more of her to love.
“I’m not lying Beth, I’m many things but I am not a liar. Just because I used to be an asshole doesn't change the fact you're still beautiful” Steve having rest his case turned back forward in the seat, his thoughts running a mile a minute. At first he wasn't on board with Robin's plan but now, he wanted to help her. Show her she was so much more than those assholes at Hawkins high.
"Thank you" she finally said after a beat, pulling back up beside the kids who were chatting away.
"Are you free Saturday night?" Steve found himself saying without much thought.
“What?” Beth was shocked on the spot, not expecting the gorgeous boy beside her to spit words like that out. In fact she was pretty sure no boy had ever said words like that to her.
“Look there’s this party and I don’t normally like to go but if you went with me I think it would be pretty cool” Beth’s heart was pounding so hard in her chest she was sure he could her it. She wasn’t sure if she was gonna cry or throw up.
“I- uh. Um, a party? I-“ words were firing out her mouth in record time but not forming anything understandable and suddenly a hand banged on the window, her jumping high in her seat.
“Let’s go, me and the guys have a new campaign we want to try out” Mike yelled through the window and Steve rolled his eyes.
“I’ll pick you up at 7” he told Beth and slipped out the car like he didn’t just completely short circuit the girl with only a few words. Beth quickly reminded herself she was looking for reasons to dislike the boy.
Doesn’t wait for permission
He did basically assume she said yes despite saying nothing at all. She was trying so hard to be mad about it but yet she was coming up short. He took initiative where she couldn’t and she kind of liked it because no matter how much she lied to herself, she was pretty sure she would’ve said yes the moment she got her thoughts in order. So was that really any reason to dislike Steve Harrington at all.
Doesn’t wait for permission
“Why do you look like someone killed your childhood pet?” Robin asked as she clambered into her car again.
“Why are you in my car?” Beth fired back and Robin rolled her eyes, flipping the visor down just to pout when she saw it didn’t have a mirror unlike Beth’s side.
“Not enough room in Steve’s, I was going to squish in the backseat but then Dustin got annoyed because I guess Steve yelled at them about not wearing seat belts, blah blah blah. But can you give me a ride home?” Beth snorted and shook her head before starting the car back up.
“Fine, you owe me” Beth told her pulling back onto the streets of Hawkins and Robin chuckled before digging through her bag, unable to keep still.
“So are we going to talk about why you looked all dazed and confused earlier?” Robin asked, pulling out some black nail polish and applying it to her fingers.
“Steve asked me to a party Saturday night” Robin’s eyes widened, this clearly not apart of her original plan with the boy.
“Did you say yes?” Robin finally asked, trying not to give way to the shock.
“He didn’t give me a chance to, just said he’d pick me up at seven” Beth informed her, turning down a road in the direction of Robins house.
“Are you excited?” Robin asked and Beth shrugged lightly.
“Maybe, more nervous. I dunno. I don’t do parties” Beth said trying to not give away the fact she was freaking out and normally when she wished the week would pass by quickly she was wishing it would slow down.
“Well I’ll come over and help you get ready, and if the party is lame I’ll call and give you some fake emergency so you can leave” Beth laughed and a huge smile widened across her face, realizing Robin was becoming a friend made for more than just school hours.
“Sounds good to me, but if the parties going good?” Beth asked and Robin tilted her head and leaned against the door.
“Then tell me you’ll see me later, we can make a code word. Like Steves lame” Beth chuckled and pulled into Robins driveway, shifting the car into park.
“And if he’s standing next to me?” a devious smile crossed Robins face.
“Even better” Beth laughed again and Robin dropped her nail polish into her bag and pushed open the door. “Or I’ll come to the party with you and at any point you want to leave we can ditch Steve”
“I’m good with absolutely any plan you have Rob” Beth told her as she climbed out the car and Robin smiled.
“Perfect, I’ll get any information out of Steve I can and let you know” Beth nodded and Robin shut the car door before waving and skipping up the steps into her home.
Beth wasn’t sure what to think now that she was caught in the world of the unlikely pair.

Robin | Steve Harrington x Reader
Notes: I hope y'all enjoy <3
Words: 1.03k
Warnings: None, this is pure fluff
You've never seen your husband more in love with anyone. He held your daughter Robin in his arms for the first time, looking at her with so much love in his eyes. "She's beautiful.", he whispered to you with the slightest crack in his voice. Steve was doing his best to hold back the tears that were ought to come out. "She has your hair.", you commented in a quiet voice. That's what send him over the edge and opened the floodgates. "C'mere, Stevie.", you said while scooting over in your hospital bed. Steve quickly kicked off his shoes, then laid sat next to you with Robin still in his arms. "She looks so much like you.", you continued. "She's perfect." You patted Steve's shoulder while he silently cried. Your daughter, on the other hand, was quietly snorring in her fathers arms. "Can't wait to show her off to the others.", he whispered with a cracking voice.
Her uncle Dustin was the first one to come visit you. He was so careful with Robin, trying his best not to wake her up. "She looks like a Henderson.", he said to Steve with a grin. He rolled his eyes at Dustin. "No she doesn't.", her father replied. "She's clearly a Harrington. She's got my hair!" The bickering between the two went on for a good minute, causing Robin to wake up. Luckily, she didn't start crying but rather look around the room. Since she was only a day old, she couldn't see very well. Dustin took his niece into his arms and coddled her while taking another look at her. "I'm telling you man, she has Henderson eyes." Steve swung his arms up in a dramatic manner while muttering "Oh my god."
Robin and Vicky were the next visitor on the following day. Neither of you told them about what you were naming your daughter, so there was ought to be a suprise. "You really made that, dingus." Robin chuckled at her own words while looking at the infant in her arms. "I did.", Steve mumbled. If he was being honest with himself, he was still in shock on how beautiful his daughter came out. "She looks so squishy.", Vicky said while holding your daughters hand with one finger. "That's what Steve said.", you said with a chuckle. Robin proceeded to carefully squish your daughters cheeks together to confirm her girlfriends theory. "And she is.", Robin said with a slight laugh. "I hope (Y/N) came up with a good name.", Robin said while looking at Steve. He knew what she was hinting at, but didn't want to ruin the moment. "Actually, Steve came up with the name.", you said to her. "Robin Claudia Harrington.", Steve said. Robin eyes widened in shock. "I wanted her to be named after her godmother." If you squinted your eyes, you could've seen the small tears building up in Robins eyes. But she quickly blinked them away. "Finally a good idea, dingus." She had a grin on her face before looking back down at baby Robin. "You're gonna be so much like me, it's gonna drive your dad insane.", she promised her godchild.
Will, Lucas, Max, El and Mike here last to visit you while still being in the hospital. El especially was afraid of holding her. "So tiny.", she said while looking down at the infant. "She's only three days old.", Mike said to his girlfriend. "And fragile.", Lucas added. "She's not made of glass.", Max said to her boyfriend while lightly slapping his shoulder. "Stop bickering in front of the baby.", Will scolded his friends. It made you chuckle. "She'll be fine, Dustin was already here.", you said while waving them off. The five kids couldn't stop looking at her. And Steve felt so warm inside as he did while watching them interact with his daughter.
Nancy and Jonathan were last to visit. She pushed visiting you two back for weeks until she finally came over on the day Robin turned one month old. "She has your hair.", Nancy said to Steve while looking at the baby in her fiancé's arms. "Yeah, but (Y/N)s eyes.", Jonathan added. Steve looked over at you with an insulted look. "You said she has my eyes.", your husband said to you. A giggle left your mouth "Because you were pouting after Dustin said she has Henderson eyes." He gave you an insulted look. "Robin said her cheeks are squishy.", Nancy said while looking at you. "Can I try?" You smiled and nodded your head. She carefully squished your daughters cheeks, who farted as a 'reaction'. All four of you started laughing at Robins response. "She's still so peaceful.", Jonathan said as he looked back down on Robin. "She's really quiet, for some reason.", Steve said while sitting down next to Jonathan. "Barely cries, sleeps through most nights, always eats." You two got very lucky with Robin, but you had a feeling that her puberty would be twice as hard as a result. "My mom said I was easy as a baby as well, but not that easy", you commented while watching your daughter in Jonathan's arms. She yawned while cuddling into his grip. It seemed like he knew how to hold babies well enough. No wonder, he's a great big brother to Will.
"Dustin announced himself for tomorrow.", Steve said while walking into Robins nursery in the evening. You were feeding her, trying to get your daughter to sleep. "That's the fourth time this week then.", you replied with a grin. "It's like he's obsessed with her.", Steve commented with knitted eyebrows. "She's his niece, what do you expect?" Robin fell asleep in your arms, so you carefully put her in her crib before turning on the baby monitor. "Can't blame him, she's adorable." A soft smile formed on his face when he took one more look at his daughter before walking out of her room with you. "You're ready for another one already, aren't you?", you asked him with a grin. Your husband let out a low chuckle while scratching the back of his head. "We did agree on six.", your husband said with a grin on his face.
"We did, yeah."

Chapter 3: Time of My Life
Life Eternal Series
Eddie Munson x Rockstar!POC
Word Count: 5.6k
All writing is in second POV, but No Use of Y/N.
“You excited, man?” Steve asks while he drives. Eddie scoffs.
“Excited feels like an understatement. I get to go to New York AND visit the best person ever? Yeah, there's no words to describe.” Eddie replies happily.
“Hey!” Dustin pipes in from the backseat. “Best person?” Steve rolls his eyes at Dustin.
“Dustin, Sometimes, when a man loves a woman-”
“Woah!” “Woah!” “Woah!” Dustin and Eddie shout over each other simultaneously. Steve smirks.
“No one said anything about love.” “I don't wanna get that talk from you!” They talk over each other again. Steve scoffs in disbelief.
“You're joking, right? Helen Keller could see what's going on here.” Steve says to Eddie, ignoring Dustin. “You two have been talking on the phone damn near daily for months, and now that rockstar is inviting you on an all expense included, paid trip to visit them at their house in New York.” Eddie rolls his eyes at Steve's correct assumption. “Don't act like you aren't pining over her. Did you forget I was there when you two talked for 4 hours straight at a bar where all of your respective friends were, yet you ignored everyone around you? You can thank me for the help at your wedding.” Steve dismisses. Eddie couldn't ignore the thumping in his chest. Steve wasn't all wrong. He was definitely crushing on you, hard, but he be damned if he admitted that right now. It was too early to call. He was falling too hard too fast. If he were to get rejected…
“Oh, mind your business, Steve. Eddie hit it off with a famous rockstar who sees his talent. This is a great opportunity for him! He gets to see the Big Apple AND write music for a rock album that's bound to be album of the year!” Dustin exclaims, only adding to Eddie's racing heart.
Dustin and Steve continue bickering as they drive up to the Departures curb. Steve throws the car in park and gets out with Eddie, Dustin not too far behind. Steve opens up the trunk, still bickering with the kid. Eddie grabs his suitcase and guitar case from the trunk. “Will you two shut up already!” Eddie yells, grabbing their attention. Dustin's expression changes as he focuses in on Eddie, and he rushes in to engulf Eddie in a hug. It shocks Eddie at first, but he is soon to give in and return the hug. “Don’t forget to bring me back something.” Dustin says. Eddie chuckles and pats his back.
“Will do, little man. Will do.” They pull away from each other, and he and Steve make eye contact.
“I’m not hugging you.” Steve says, holding up a hand and turning his head. Eddie rolls his eyes with an amused scoff.
“Whatever, pretty boy. I wouldn’t want to mess up your hair.” Steve rolls his eyes. “Thanks for the ride.” Steve softens and shakes his head.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s my job as chauffeur.” He shrugs. Steve gets taken off guard as Eddie gives him a quick side hug, before running off into the airport.
“See ya!” Eddie calls back, waving as he disappears into the building, Dustin waving wildly in return.
Eddie gets through TSA as quickly as possible. Since he was flying out on a Wednesday afternoon, the airport was near empty. As he sits at his gate, awaiting for his plane to board, he pulls out his old walkman. He would sometimes get looks when he pulls out the thing, but since his van only reads tapes, using Wayne’s old walkman was most efficient so he wasn’t buying doubles of every album he listened to.
He digs through his backpack, finally reaching what he was looking for, Cydonia’s debut album, Martian. He smiles at the tape, running his thumb over the cover art. Ever since your concert in Indiana, he has been listening to your two albums religiously. It was almost addicting. He loved the sound of your voice. He loved how your music introduced him to new sounds. Listening to your debut album intrigued him. It was a message for all those who were at the bottom of the food chain. It was a call to let your darkness shine, and he already proudly wore the word ‘Freak’ on his back. It would have definitely been his anthem in his high school days. His music induced trance was slightly broken when he noticed the gate doors open and the attendant started calling out for those to board.
Eddie collected his carry-on, his tattered red and black backpack, and stood to start boarding. He was one of few on the plane. As he made his way down the aisle, everything just became more and more real for him. He was suddenly struck by a hard pounding in his chest. His first time flying anywhere was going to the festival performance with metallica. That time he had Dustin to distract him. This is his first time flying solo, and he was really starting to feel his anxiety peak. He gladly sat in an empty row, halfway down the plane, and took a window seat. He figured sitting by the window would make him feel less suffocated. As soon as he was seated, he turned on the little fan above him and closed his eyes, leaning back in his seat, gripping the arm rests. He started taking big deep breaths and focused on your voice in his ears. He gripped the arm rests until his knuckles were white and squeezed his eyes harder when he felt the plane rattling during take off, but as soon as they were in the air and everything became near weightless, he relaxed a bit. He held the thought of seeing you in his mind to keep him calm. Eventually, he opened his eyes again and dared to look out the window, met with a serene view of the sun dancing along the clouds. He started to smile to himself. ‘I’m on my way, Superstar.’
》》》
As soon as Eddie landed at Newark, he felt like he was able to breathe normally again. He quickly filed off the plane and made his way to baggage claim. As he rode down the escalator, he was met with a sight he didn’t expect. In the middle of the floor was a hooded person with sunglasses on holding up a black poster board with red writing on it. ‘Eddie Munson (aka Rockstar)’ it read, and you were holding it, a smug grin on your face. Eddie smiled widely, deciding the machine was moving a bit too slow for him and began quickly walking down. “Pick up for Eddie Munson?” You said in a dramatically deep voice as he got a little closer. Eddie laughed and took four large steps over to you, wrapping his arms around your waist and lifting you up into the air, spinning around with you in his arms, causing you to shriek in surprise. “My glasses!” you yelled as they fell off your face and to the floor with a clack.
“Hey there, Superstar.” He laughed out, finally setting you down. “I wasn’t expecting to get picked up by the one and only.” He says with a big, happy smile. You scoff with face offense.
“I’ll make sure to send a limo next time.” Eddie shakes his head.
“No, I quite like getting to see you first thing.” He squats down to pick up your dark sunglasses. Instead of handing them back, he slides them onto his own face, grabbing your hand and leading you over to his baggage claim terminal.
“Excuse me, sir. I kind of need those.” He ignores you. “Okay, but it’s your vault if we get mobbed.” You respond, causing him to chuckle. He shrugs.
“It’ll be good practice for the,” pauses to turn around and hold up his hands, wiggling his fingers, “zombie apocalypse.” he finished in a deep, dramatically ‘spooky’ voice. You roll your eyes with an amused expression. He smiles and turns back around to search for his guitar and suitcase. You quickly miss the warmth of his hand as soon as it’s gone. You watch as Eddie waits and scans the circling conveyor belt for his luggage. You stand back not wanting to get in the way of others searching. As you wait with crossed arms, two teenage looking girls are walking passed, one of them lifting their head from the magazine they were both gawking over. She does a double tak, slapping her friend’s arm several times before nodding in our direction. You watch on through the corner of your eye, knowing what’s coming.
“Hi, sorry,” One of the girls with tricolor hair, dyed pink, purple, and blue, looked up to you with starstruck eyes, “You’re the lead singer of Cydonia, right?” You look to the other girl who had glasses, dyed black hair, and a pink, white and blue pin on the strap of the backpack on her shoulder.
“That’s me.” You say with a small smile. They look to each other for a moment, trying and failing to contain their excitement.
“Oh my gosh, we saw you in concert last year when you performed at Terminal 5-”
“You guys were awesome-”
“We love you music-”
“You inspire me so much-”
“You are a queer icon-”
“We love you-” They talk over each other, back to back. You chuckle, holding up a hand to slow them down.
“Thank you for your support. It means a lot.” You smile. They squeal like little piglets.
“Can we get a photo with you?” “Can you sign my CD player?” They say, again talking over one another. You chuckle and nod.
“Sure.” The girl with the dyed hair reaches into her crossbody purse for her disposable camera as the girl with glasses reaches in her large hoodie pocket for her CD player.
“I can take the photo for you.” A voice interrupts, Eddie. The girls look over their shoulder at him, looking at each other with a look, then both nod their heads.
“Yes, please!” They say simultaneously. You look at them suspiciously, wondering what that look was for before they turn to stand on either side of you, readying for the photo. You drape your arms over the smaller girls’ shoulders, and they lean in to hug your middle “Oh my gosh, you smell good.” “I knew it!” they say over each other, causing you to shake your head and chuckle at their antics. Eddie brings the camera up to his face. You can’t help but think how cute it is when he scrunches his face up to peek through the lens. It brings a genuine, soft smile from you.
“Say cheese!”
“Cheeeessseeee.” The two girls repeat, causing your smile to get bigger as you release another small laugh through your nose. Eddie snaps the photo. He lifts his head quickly to raise up two fingers.
“Another one just in case.” They stay holding your middle in a hug, but instead of smiling, you scrunch your nose and hold up rock-and-roll signs with your hands. The two girls do their respective ‘funny faces’, and Eddie snaps the second photo. “Nice.” He lowers the camera and the two girls release you, backing away a little. The one with glasses brings up her silver CD player and a red sharpie to hold in front of you. You grab the sharpie from her and help hold the CD player stable in her hand. You do a quick autograph.
“Can you also sign my magazine?” the tri-colored hair girl asks, holding up a copy of the same magazine you caught Eddie with all those weeks ago. You nod, giving her a ‘no problem’ and signing your name on the cover. They both struggle to hide their excitement.
“Thank you!” They both repeat over and over.
“No problem. Have a great trip or welcome home.” You smile as they give goodbyes and walk away holding onto each other. You look at Eddie. He has a smug look on his face, eyes hidden by your dark sunglasses.
“Don’t look at me like that.” You roll your eyes. “Let’s go.” You turn, and he just smiles, grabbing his things, jogging to meet up with you.
As soon as you both make it outside, Eddie is greeted with a crisp gust of wind through his curls. It’s chilly but sunny out. He follows you across the few lanes to the parking lot. Once in the parking garage, he lifts the sunglasses from his eyes and uses them to push back his bangs. You lead him across a few isles. In the middle of the empty lanes, away from the few cars parked closer to the entrance, sat a shiny, black beauty that is a-
“1967 Ford Mustang Fastback?!” Eddie nearly drops his guitar. You smirk, your back to him as you continue to walk to the backside of the car, unlocking the trunk. You look over to him. Eddie still stalled a few feet away from you.
“You comin’?” You tease. He scoffs, speechless.
“No fucking way this is your car.” He says in disbelief, starting up his walk again, closing in on you by the trunk.
“No, we’re stealing it. I actually pickpocketed those girls earlier.” You quip sarcastically, popping open the trunk.
“Well, in that case, can I drive?.” He quips back, stowing away his luggage into the empty trunk.
“No.” He pouts, and you both round the car and get in on your respective sides. Eddie is equally entranced by the all black interior as he was the exterior, “Can you even drive stick?” He whips to look at you, clearly offended.
“Can I even drive stick?! What do I look like?!” You laugh at his dramatic response. “I drive a ‘78 van for god’s sake.” He turns in his seat and mutters to himself, “‘Can you drive stick?‘ Pfft.” He mocks. You continue to laugh, turning over the ignition. Eddie takes your sunglasses off his head and puts them on the dash.
“Okay, okay. Sorry. I shouldn’t have poked the bear.” As soon as the car starts, the song you were listening to on the way to the airport continues. Eddie’s eyes nearly pop out of his head.
“You listen to Slayer too?! Jesus Christ I’m gonna combust.” He reaches for the grab handle above his window. He looked like he was going to pass out, sinking down into his seat. You laugh.
“You are so dramatic, Eddie Munson.” He pulls himself up, sitting properly.
“I was rejected from drama club for being too good, you know. That’s why I had to start my own cult.” He wiggles his brows.
“I doubt it was for that reason.” You scoff, a small smile playing on your lips. “Yet, I believe it.” You shrug. “Eddie Munson, the theater kid reject.” You say, lifting your hand and gesturing as if reading off a sign. He plays fake hurt, clutching his invisible pearls.
“Never have I.” He says in a posh, feminine accent. You laugh at his forced accent.
“Alright, Queen Elizabeth. Let’s go.” You both buckle up before you switch gears and start pulling out of the parking lot.
》》》
On the drive to your home in Nyack, you ensure to take the ‘long way’, going through the city a little bit. Eddie spent the entire two hour drive looking out the window in awe. The drive was silent between you two, the only noise being your music and the humming of your engine. It was nice. Eddie’s childlike wonder brough the magic back to New York. Not even the bits of traffic you hit could dull the mood.
When you were on the open freeway, leaving the city, you were able to speed up a bit. Eddie made an off-handed comment about how sexy the car sounded, bubbling a laugh out of you. You exited off the freeway early, again, not bothering to take the quickest route as you silently let Eddie sightsee through the car window. When you’re finally pulling into your neighborhood, Eddie speaks up. “Ho-ly shit.” He sighs, gaping through the front windshield. “This is where you live?” He asks breathlessly. You let out a soft chuckle.
“Yeah, not too bad, is it?” you ask rhetorically.
“It’s alright.” He fires back with a smirk, playing along. You spare him a quick glance. He goes back to watching the beautiful houses go by. “Not gonna lie. I mean, I didn’t know what I was thinking, but I wasn’t expecting this.”
“What? Were you expecting a 5 story, 200 bedroom luxury castle?” You ask. He scoffs.
“I don’t know, but this is even better.” He looks over to you, “It fits.” he says with a small smile, staring at your smiling profile for a few seconds too long. He turns his focus out the window as you turn into your driveway. “It’s nice, obviously expensive, but cozy.” The barrier separating your driveway from the street was a long row of trees that created a natural gate around the property. You drive in a little, passing through an actual gate, metal and gothic. The house could finally be seen in all its true glory.
The old stone driveway led to a two story, brick house with red accents and black shutters. The house was in the middle of a five acre lot surrounded by a thick, tree fence. The old brick structure stood strong, slightly overtaken by the nature around it, vines climbing up the walls. The lot itself was well-maintained but not artificially manicured. Clearly someone cared for the land, but they ensured not to kill the native vegetation around it for the sake of neatness. It was far from cookiecutter. It was unique and well-loved. It fits you well.
You drive up to the top of the long driveway, parking your prized vehicle in the two car garage next to the house. Though it was an obvious post-construction addition, it was clearly made to replicate the historic home’s aesthetic. “Home sweet home.” you say as you unbuckle your seatbelt, Eddie unbuckling soon after. You open your door and make your way to the trunk of your car. Eddie gets out of the car and looks out the open garage door and takes in the view of the front half of your property. Jesus, this place was amazing. The pop of the trunk lock grabs Eddie’s attention as you open the lid and go to grab his bags.
“Ah ah ah!” he stops you. “I’m a big boy. Let me get it.” You raise your hands in surrender and back up a little. “What kind of man would I be, letting you take my bags.” You shake your head.
“Okay, fine. I get it. I was just trying to be a gentleman.” you let out a soft laugh. Eddie shakes his head as he loads himself up with his backpack, tattered suitcase and solid guitar case.
“Not on my watch, superstar.” he tilts his head and gives you a big grin. You roll your eyes and close the trunk door.
“Yeah, yeah. Let’s get inside.” You close the garage and lead him to the side door. The side door opens to an enclosed, glass corridor that attaches to the house. You open the door that leads inside, holding it open for Eddie. It leads straight into the kitchen. The kitchen kept the same cohesive aesthetic as the outside of the house, dark, warm, cozy. “I’ll show you to your room, and while you settle in, I can start getting dinner ready.” You smile at him over your shoulder as you make your way around the kitchen island and into the open living area. You then lead him down a hall next to the set of stairs leading the the second floor. There are four doors down this hall. One at the end of the hall leading to the back yard, on to the left, under the stairs, the guest bathroom, you acknowledge. The first door to the right is the guest bedroom, where Eddie will be staying. The bedroom is huge compared to his back at home. It’s at least worth two of his bedroom plus an ensuite. “Here we are.” You say with arms wide open as you walk through the door. You walk further into the room, Eddie standing by the door. You spin and face him with your open arms. “This is you.” You drop your arms to your sides with a smack, before looking over to the bed. “I put on fresh sheets and blankets. Even got you some new pillows. I don’t have guests that often, so I hope everything is okay.” You say a bit shyly and shrug. Eddie walks in to rest his guitar case on the nightstand next to the bed and drops his backpack. He then rolls his suitcase up to the empty space next to the nightstand and rests it against the wall. He steps back and walks around the room in awe. “Well…?”
“This place is amazing.” He sighs out. He chuckles and then focuses his attention on you. He gives you a big smile from across the room before running and diving onto the bed. He bounces a few times from his hard landing then lays on his side, bending one of his legs up and resting his head on one hand. He wiggles his brows at you with the same goofy grin on his face. You shake your head with raised brows and a small laugh. Eddie then plops back, spread out over the king sized bed. He sighs heavily, “This is amazing. I don’t know how to thank you.” Your smile grows, and your eyes find the ground below your feet.
“No need. You’re here to help me, remember? It’s the least I can do.” Eddie pops up to rest on his elbows, but you continue before he protests. “I’ll be out in the kitchen cooking us dinner. Make yourself at home, rockstar.” You turn to walk out the door, “Let me know if you need anything.” you call out over your shoulder, disappearing around the corner. Eddie continues to watch the spot where you once were. He smiles to himself before plopping back down.
“This is the best day ever.” He whispers to himself before cloning his eyes, accidentally dozing off.
》》》
“Eddie?” You call out before rounding the corner to his room. You stop in your tracks when you notice him sprawled out, exactly where you left him. Soft snores echo in the room, causing a subconscious smile to break out on your face. You walk up to the bedside with soft footsteps. “Eddie?” you say softly. He stirs a bit in his sleep. You reach out to shake his shoulder, and he pops up. You jump back, startled. “Eddie.” He whips his head to look at you with wide eyes. You smile and let out a small laugh. “Dang, there goes my surprise attack.” You say sarcastically. He raises a brow.
“Can’t sneak up on me.” He says with a yawn. You let out another small laugh and push him.
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say. Dinner is ready. I hope you’re hungry! I brought you some house slippers.” You lift up a pair of dark gray slip-on shoes and place them on the floor next to his luggage. “I hope they fit okay. Now, wash up and get changed into some PJs. We’re having a chill night. Sunset looks amazing in the sunroom right now.” You turn to walk out.
“Yes, ma’am!” Eddie calls back as you round the corner. He hops up off the bed and walks over to his suitcase. He lays it out and opens it up, pulling out some black pajama pants and a Blastoff Festival t-shirt he got from the night he met you. Eddie stands and goes into the ensuite to change and wash his hands. He splashes some water on his face to rid himself of any evidence of his nap. You had an entire guest basket of toiletries next to the sink. He smiles at how thoughtful you are. He spots a new pack of black, silk scrunchies and pops one out its packaging, throwing his wild hair into a bun at the crown of his head.
Eddie walks out of the room, down the hall, and rounds the stairs, heading to the kitchen. You could be heard rummaging around and grabbing dishes. He just about enters the kitchen right as you’re exiting. Thankfully, you both catch yourselves before running into each other. “Holy fuck.” You breathe out a little laugh as your heart starts to calm. Eddie looks down at the plates in your hands with wide eyes.
“Holy Shit!” You laugh nervously, not knowing how to take his reaction at first. “You made this!?” His gaze switches to your wide, innocent eyes.
“Yeah?” You laugh out.
“This looks amazing!” He takes a big whiff, “And it smells even better!” A huge smile forms on his face and you give him a proud smile, blushing ever so slightly.
“Thank you.” You reply with your head held high.
“Here, let me help you.” He says and goes to reach for the plates but you move them away.
“No, no. I got these. Grab the drinks?” You say with a small smirk. He drops his hands and bites back a smile. He makes his way around to the two cups and larger glass jug that waited on the kitchen island. You wait for him in the archway as he grabs everything else and starts following you. You lead him to a room at the back of your house, on the opposite side of the stairs than his room. You pass through the door frame that leads to the open space and gently place the two plates on the table. Once again, Eddie pauses for a little after walking into the new room, taking it in.
The walls and ceiling were all panes of glass like a greenhouse. Inside, there are a few plants littered around and a comfy looking couch in the middle with a wooden coffee table just in front of the couch. In the corner of the room was a plush sofa chair that had a small table next to it and a pretty, royal blue, semi-acoustic guitar leaning up against the table. Due to the time of day, the sun was setting perfectly over the trees and field that is your yard. It creates a warm glow in the room. The sight is surreal, ethereal, calm. “This is like my safe space.” You break his trance. “Especially this time of day.” His eyes find you. You’ve taken your seat on the couch and were waiting for him to sit down next to you.
You had a soft smile and were looking up at him with the most warm eyes. The warmth of the sunset made you glow. Eddie nearly dropped everything he was holding at the sight of you, finally taking you in. Half of your hair is tied back with a few shorter pieces falling onto your face, the rest cascading down your back. The sun brought out the lighter shades in your hair and the richness of your skin. The slightest bit of mascara and eyeliner you had on was now a little smudged, smoking out around your eyes. You had changed from your airport clothes to black and dark gray, plaid pajama pants and a black, pullover hoodie that was about 3 sizes too big. You had taken off your slippers to sit cross legged on the couch, revealing a pair of brightly colored, patterned socks, the best contrast to your outfit. You pat the empty spot next to you. Eddie smiles wide and quickly makes his way over.
He sets down the cups on the coasters you have out and takes it upon himself to pour your drinks. “I hope you don’t mind just sitting and eating. I don’t have a TV in here.” Eddie shakes his head, still holding his smile.
“I don’t mind. We can just talk and eat.” He places the glass container down and smiles over to you, infecting your face with a big smile. You nod in response before breaking eye contact and looking down at the food. You reach down to grab your plate and silverware.
“Bone apple teeth.” You say before digging in, Eddie laughing and doing the same.
You two talked for hours even after you finished eating, well after the sun went down. You went back and forth talking about everything, as you normally would. Eventually, you both started talking about music and the album. It was clear you both had similar tastes in music, but one thing that neither of you weren’t expecting was the understanding you both had about what you wanted to write. Every idea, every concept you went back and forth on was never shot down. You would build up on each idea and create a story. “I am not letting you let that fantasy, Lord of the Rings inspired album slide under the rug.” Eddie said, holding up an accusing, soapy finger. You shake your head and laugh, drying the freshly cleaned dish in your hand.
“I don’t know how, but I promise I’ll make it happen.” Eddie goes back to rinsing off the last dish. “But, you have to keep your half of the bargain and actually release your own music.” You say raising a brow at him. He tilts his head and hands you another dish with a wide grin.
“Anything for you, baby.” He teases. You take the dish, biting back your smile as your cheeks burn. Eddie rinses out the sink and runs his hands under the water a final time before turning the faucet off and drying his hands. Eddie turns to lean his back against the counter, and you put down the final dish as you finish drying it. You look at the clock, and it’s almost midnight. You turn back to him. He still held a cheesy grin on his face.
“We should probably call it a night, hot shot.” You say, leaning on your arm that rests on the edge of the counter. He sighs dramatically and rolls his head.
“So soon?” He pouts. You smile a bit at his childish antics.
“Well, We have a busy day tomorrow. I don’t want you complaining about being tired while we work.” He groans and lifts himself up, leading the way around the island and out the kitchen.
You walk him to his bedroom door. “If you need anything, my room is at the top of the stairs, first door on the left.” You lean against the door frame, resting on your shoulder. Eddie stops from walking any further into the room and turns to face you. He places a hand just above your head on the door frame, leaning against it. He looks down at you with a small smirk.
“Dinner was amazing. Thank you, dollface.” You cross your arms and roll your eyes.
“‘Dollface’? Really?” You look back up to him with a less than impressed expression but biting back a smile. He shrugs, his act not wavering in the slightest.
“Heard Steve say it. I should’ve known it wouldn’t work on you.” His smirk grows into a grin. “But, seriously, thank you. Today has been amazing. I love getting to spend time with you, especially in person. You’ve definitely given me a night to remember.” His honesty makes your heart flutter, releasing your smile from its cage.
“I’m glad. You’re stuck with me for a whole week.” You scrunch your nose. Eddie finds it absolutely precious. You turn to walk away, “See ya in the mornin’!” You say without sparing him another glance. He watches you make it to the top of the stairs before yelling back.
“Goodnight, superstar!” He smiles up to the top of the stairs.
“Goodnight, rockstar!” You shout back before your door clicks closed. Eddie continues to smile up at the stairs for a few seconds before making his way into the room, closing the door behind him. He sighs happily and looks around the moonlit room letting his happiness build. He then jumps, punching the air with a huge smile on his face. He wants to let out a loud yell to release the pent up energy he has, but he restrains himself. He quickly makes his way over to the nightstand and turns on the bedside lamp, illuminating the room in a soft warm light. He reaches down to his backpack and grabs his tattered notebook and a pen. He jumps onto the bed and situates himself to lay on his stomach. He flips through a few pages of words and doodles to get to a blank page and starts writing furiously.
“Hey, girl, I’m in love with you.”

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!! 🎄☃️❄️💓✨
You don't usually get so excited when it's the holidays
But, you do enjoy, seeing everyone and having your stomach full from all of the feast
You're just not in the mood to interact since your social battery? can drain easily, you can't keep up that long, sometimes
Sure, you do have friends around that is genuinely do care for you and always be there for you
You're really just not an energetic person
That is until..... He came
You became friends with Nancy at the University and still- you're being in denial that you found yourself a friend
Nancy invited you over to Hawkins to spend your Christmas with them- you're very hesitant at first but you give it a try
The fact you thought you'll messed it all up because you're so nervous to meet her friends and family for the first time
It's your second time here and you just really don't understand why you feel looking forward about this, again
It's a new feeling and it's so foreign
You're leaning standing on the side of the room while watching the snowflakes fall outside
The kids are bickering each other over something and a year later you're still amused observing them
"What do you suggest that we should do?" Dustin sighs in exasperation as he holds his list of Christmas activities on his hand
He taps his pen below his chin as he couldn't taken a hold of his impatience towards his friend
He groans in frustration "Make up your mind!-"
"We should do a movie marathon- we haven't done that yet!" Max spoke up before she could hear Dustin's banter
"That's- impossible- our schedule is clearly tight! No one can attend since all of us are not available!"
"All of us?!? You haven't asked anyone yet!"
"You don't believe me?!? I'm not wrong about this, Max" Dustin throw his hands up in surrender
Max nods as she raises her eyebrows and crossing both of her arms at the same time as she jerks her head towards everyone else in the room gesturing to ask about the plan
Dustin shakes his head at her as he goes out to ask anyone
To his surprise, she's right
Max smirks at him when you're the only one left
"My god- your plan still sucks, Max" he mumbles to himself, he winces when realized he said it in his outside voice
"Could you think for a better activity?" Max replies in a sassiest way as she watches him walking towards you
"Your films choices are awful" Dustin said without looking back at her but she can see the disgust look from his face
"Hey, Top Gun is not awful!" Max shouted as she rolls his eyes at him
"Hi"
You look back at the kid in front of you, nervously clasps his hands together
"What up?" You manage to form a small smile as you bring your body forward to face him properly
He raises his eyebrows, of course- he knows that you're not into small talk but to all of young kids in the group?
You're still cool to them
Why? You seriously have no idea why someone like you and even use you as a role model
Maybe, they love you because you're very authentic and real
Yes, you being the silent one but also you're the most protective and strongest person of them all
They admire everything about you and you never ever understood it why
All you can say is that you're just so very grateful to have them in your life
So grateful
"Uh, are you game for a movie marathon with us? everyone is invited"
You nod and think about it for a moment until you can finally muster to say something back
"When?"
"This coming Saturday"
You nod again and there's your same old dialog
"Is he coming tho?"
"Who?"
"Eddie"
"Y-Yeah- I haven't asked him about it yet since he's not here and I'm sure, he'll be there"
"I'll go, why not- I'm not doing anything on that day, so...." you shrug smile at him
"Great!" The boy shows his pearls and the grin grows even more wide when he looked at over your shoulder
And the man in question is coming in to put his arms around you before you can even follow the kid's gaze- you melt within his touch
"What's happening?" He asks as he turns his head at you and Dustin
"Movie Marathon, this Saturday" you fill him in
"Ooh" he beams in interest "I am so in!"
Dustin hops lightly on the floor as he gives both of you a thumbs up as he goes back to Max who smiles so smugly at him now
"What are you doing by the window?"
You scratch your head "Watching the snow? I'm just bored- I guess" you slumped your shoulders
"Aww- just say it that you missed me" he pulls you by his side and you roll your eyes playfully
You know what he's doing, he wants you to laugh and he never fails by attempting to do so
But in fact- you really do miss him
Just too afraid to admit your feelings too vulnerable
Eddie continues to tease as you finally tug up a smile at him
"Ah yes finally there's my girl!"
You giggle as you poke his side by using your elbow as he laughs as well
"Look what I found at the store"
He surprises you by a gift, it's a small cute white teddy bear with red bow on the neck and your eyes flashes in astonishment
"Eddie- you did not-" you hold the teddy bear as he can see the joy glint on your eyes
Your gaze softens at him "Thank you"
"Don't mention it, sweets" he says as leans down to kiss on top of your head
"I am happy to see you happy" he adds and that makes your heart swell even more
You're absolutely not falling for him, are you?
"I'll be back for dinner, Nance" you announced as you check yourself in the mirror
"Going out with Eddie, again?"
"Yeah, why?" You asked her in the reflection
A mischief on her eyes, you can't miss it
She leans on her side on the wall as she watches you adding a lip and cheek tint
"Nothing, it's just that you look cute together"
You slowly turn to look at her with a look that says "Seriously?"
"I'm serious! I mean- ever since I bought you here- you two- just I don't even know how it happened- you both clicked!" She exclaims as she scoffed at you while shaking your head as you dismissive a hand at her
"And ever since then- it's obvious to everyone that if someone else sees you both- you both looked like in a relationship" she added as she waits for your reaction
"I'm sure that his only true intentions are being with friends with me, nothing more than that" you say as you put your makeup back in your shoulder bag
"Keep telling that to yourself and just watch it become real right before your very eyes" she argues with you as she takes a deep breath before continuing
"For example- you said in the first place that I ain't gonna be your bestfriend and look what happened"
She has a damn point
Seeing her smiling to herself at the back of your head knowing fucking damn well that she is indeed right to her guts
You roll your eyes at her as you open the door
"Bye, Nance" you bid goodbye with a snarky tone
She only chuckles at your ignorance as she waves at you
Eddie is always have been so caring for you
He did all of this for you
When he can do something else or choose someone else to hang out with
Instead, he always chose to be with you
Why is that?
In your friendship, Eddie is the loudest and talkative and he really doesn't mind if you don't talk a lot like him and he just admires you for being a good listener
You don't even know of how a good friend you are like you just need to know that you are
You made him realized a lot of things that he did last year when he could cut off some people
When he should've done it ages ago
You're the one that pushed him to do it and to not be scared to do it for his own well-being
You're there when he's having a hard time to move on- you even comforted him that is okay to feel this way and it's completely normal
You're an amazing person in his eyes
You made him feel that he's worthy and lovable and his mission is to make you feel that way too
You listen to him with a smile on your face, you can't fight it off everytime you spend time with him
His always animated when it comes to storytelling and it's really entertaining to watch him gush over the things that you could relate to
You're taking a big step because you're obviously not being honest with your feelings so....
"Eddie- wait a second" you interrupt him at his mid-sentence
He stops as he clears his throat, he immediately rests his hand on top of yours as you look down smiling at it
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to ask"
"Sure, go ahead"
You look through his eyes and by that you knew, you knew you could say anything to him without judgement behind it
"Why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?"
"Being so nice to me, I mean- sometimes I get confused like I don't know if it's just your personality for being this sweet or you do this with anyone"
"I like you" he says plainly with a cheeky smile that shows his dimples
You flustered at his reply "W-What?"
"I just like you- don't get me wrong- I love all of my buddies out there but whenever I'm with you- I feel complete"
"But I'm not that outgoing person"
"What do you mean?"
"What I'm saying is that don't you get tired of me? Or like get bored hanging out with me?"
"Why would I think something like that? Do you think I thought about something like that?"
You blink and your duck your head down shyly as you shook your head
You curse your negative thoughts inside your head literally ruining the beautiful moment that you're having right now
You tried your best not to think of them too long, wishing for all of it to just go away
"Listen" he leans forward to hold both of your hands
You raise your head slowly, too nervous to see the anger in his eyes but you saw nothing
Just pure understanding and compassion
Your heart skips a beat at the sight of it
"I like you for being who you are and I even more love it when we both have the same qualities like you don't give a fuck about anyone else" he exaggerates his words that you always liked and that earns a small chuckle from you and he smiles at it
"You helped me and I'll be doing the same thing with you like you have no idea- how much you mean to me and I just wanna say thank you for everything" he says with so much love on his words like you can't trace anything that is half-hearted
Every part and every word he said comes straight from his heart
He just cannot do that to you and say something like that
The feeling is really feeling, you're knocking off every tendency not to kiss him on the spot
"But I feel so bad for you like I think I'm extra hella mean to you at the first meeting"
Yeah, you're right, he knows that- hell- he even remembers everything on your first encounter together
You always have your guard up and despite your feisty and always looked so intimidating
That didn't made Eddie stop for being friends with you, like he's even the one who approached you, he is willing to do anything and so eager to be in your life
You don't stopped him
You didn't even try to push him away
You don't threaten him to go away
It's because you liked his company
You liked how he is so patient with you
You thought giving him the lousy replies and statements will make him leave but he didn't
He stayed
He is so glad that he did because he gotten the first belly genuine laughs, the first excitement from your eyes, the first cute and adorable reactions at you
As if he can read your mind "Does that stop me from being your friend?"
"No"
"Exactly"
You chuckled slightly "I just don't understand why out of all the people you chose to be friends with me"
"You don't believe that you can have a cool metalhead bestfriend like me?" He says cockily with a lazy smile on his face that made you throw fries at him
He blocked it as he blows raspberry at you "Aha! You missed!"
You chuckled as you pinch his cheeks "Gotta go at the restroom but I'm not done with you yet" you point at him
As he pretends to be petrified at you "Ooh- look at me! I'm getting killed!"
You laugh as you shake your head at him
You check yourself once more at the mirror
You swore to yourself that you're gonna tell him this time around
You gotta admit it
You inhale and exhale as you walk out of the restroom
The smile on your face falls as it lands on the girl that he's talking to
He looks.... glad?
Oh- so this is what it feels to be jealous
You feel nauseous on the scene that happening right now
The girl who is talking to him is so
You saw Eddie dismissing his hand at her as if telling her to keep the conversation short but the girl just won't let it drop as she continues to babble
You know Eddie, he is just too polite to just say "fucking shut up and leave me alone"
You feel so annoyed and also angry at the same time
You reached over at the hem of your purple dress as you crunch it down not caring if it makes a crinkle out of the fabric
You missed the fact that Eddie is now brand new upcoming artist and this is the only beginning of his career
You huffed when she finally leaves
Eddie lights up that you came back on your seat across from him but only to find the hot raging fire that is on your eyes
He doesn't even know where it is coming from
He has never seen you this angry
If you try to look at him, he swear that your looks could kill any person in the room right now
You look intimidating in your usual resting face but with a mad emotion forming up?
This is the only time that he really felt intimidated
"Is everything okay?" Trying to look at your fiery eyes, he is confused, of course- he keeps rethinking everything that made you mad
"Yeah, I'm good" you say unenthusiastically as you finish your milkshake
By the tone of your voice, suddenly the room felt too hard to breathe because you still haven't looked at him just yet because he knows you're avoiding it
He swallows as he chews quietly on his burger
The ride home was like a screeching metal sound that is begging to be stopped
It's so ridiculously quiet
You're giving him the silent treatment?
He is appalled, appalled in a way that this is how you really get upset
He's gonna remember this, so he it won't happen again
Hopefully, never again
And that was it- that was the night
You didn't say goodbye or didn't say anything after that
When Nancy saw you with the look- she knows that you needed to be alone
"What's with her?"
"Huh?"
Lucas nudges his chin towards you as he waits for Mike reply
Your usual resting face looks even more colder than before
You sitting alone in a couch, arms crossed, as you pretend to watch on whatever the TV is playing
Mike glances at you and he felt a dagger stabs through his heart when he saw your face
"Maybe, it has something to do with-"
"Eddie"
Lucas and Mike looked back at each other with raised eyebrows as they run out and look for their dungeon master
The boys knew, of course- how much he feels for you, so, they're gonna help cause' that's what real friends do
"You have to fix it" Lucas blurted it out
"What?"
Eddie is talking to Jeff and Gareth, when the two young boys interrupt their conversation
"You have to make amends with her!" Mike points at you
Eddie follows the kid's direction as he blinks rapidly and gulped
"Nah- Uh- I can't"
"Why?"
"Because- fuck- you know how she's like when she's like that?!?"
"But you have to-"
"Don't worry about it, fellas- he's already concocting a solution" Gareth speaks as he throws a wink
"He's actually talking about her with us" Jeff snickers as he watches Eddie stresses
Eddie only grumbles in response when his bandmates exposed the conversation earlier
"The look on your face is not appealing for this time of the year"
The familiar voice behind you spoke as you throw your head back at the soft surface
"Hey" you say with literally 0% energy
Robin sits beside you as she takes a good look at you
"My, My, My, I can see it- jealousy, clear as day" she gestures at your face as you scoff
She only smirks "What's going on inside your mind, huh?"
"I just saw him talking to another girl yesterday" you sneered as you clenched your jaw
She clicks her tongue as she brings herself closer to you
You furrow your brows as you watch her lean forward
The scariest thing with Robin is that she can read your fucking mind
"If you're thinking about Eddie hanging out with other girls" she clears her throat and straighten herself up
As if she prepares for an ultimate speech
"Well, for your information, sweet pea- is that he never does that to anyone, he only does that to you!" She punctuates every word she said with a finger pointing at you
Still, you won't let her see your surprised expression, you try to mask it
You tilt your head at her as you laugh in disbelief
"Please be fucking for real, Robin?"
She chuckles at your stubbornness "Girl- If you're weren't present right now, he won't attend and he won't be here if it wasn't for you"
You went silent on that because Robin is making sense
A lot of sense
"Eddie is never the one to show up in these events but when you came around- he's always here"
Robin added a lot more sizzle on the stove that made the fire inside of you grows larger
You remember that
It was so late that night but Eddie came last minute because Nancy mentioned about you staying and spending the holidays with them
You're aware that she always talks about you
That's why he's so excited to meet you in the first place
Robin smiles like a freaking Cheshire cat when she successfully made your brain go right where it belongs
Your eyes might hurt for eyerolling too much as you get up and headed towards to-
Obviously, Eddie
Robin giggles as she says "Glad to be a part of your service!"
You saw Eddie yelling over to his friends and bandmates as they stopped talking when they saw you
He knits his brows as they watch all of them go running away one by one
When he turns around, he sighs nervously
"I just wanna apolog-"
"I'm sorry"
Both of you talked over to each other as you both stare and he wants to laugh at how ridiculous this is
"I appreciate everything, you've done for me- Eddie- and I apologize for my behavior last night"
"No- it's okay-" he stopped at what he's supposed to do when
His idiotic mind finally catches up at the thing that annoyed you last night
"Oh- is that girl!"
You frown at him "Look- you don't have to bring it up-'" you sigh in defeat
"You know what- this is bullshit- I'm outta here" you walk away but he tails at you
"You can't"
"Why?!?"
"it's blizzard out there!"
You glance the window outside, it's a damn snowstorm- alright
"I'm gonna find my way out of here"
"What?! why do you want to do that?!"
"To stay the hell away at you"
He laughs darkly as he jogs over your path to block you- you crossed both of your arms
"That girl yesterday was one of the bullies that made my life, the hardest, I didn't gave her the satisfaction that just because I'm getting better at my career, I won't forget the things she do to me before"
The crease in your forehead flattens as you look at him directly
"So, you don't have to be jealous over something that isn't necessary" he finishes with that
Oh, he is speaking the truth and that makes even feel more worst than ever
Not a single fucking thing that says "dishonest" on his eyes
HE IS THE IDEAL MAN
"Guess what? Eddie- that won't convince me!" You sarcastically replied with a fake smile as you move over aside to walk out of him
He knows this wouldn't be easy, he smiles down and he's amused at this
He shook his head as he spoke again
"You missed my hint"
You halt your tracks as you look back at him
"Missed what?!?" annoyance setting in your tone
He walks towards at you with a smirk laying on his face
"I gave you a hint yesterday and you missed it"
You squint your eyes at him as you try to remember the things that he said to you
Oh
The simmering anger inside of you that almost bubbled into the boiling point has died down when it finally hit you
"I like you" his voice echoes to your mind
When you look back at him, he smiles wildly as he moves closer to you
He puts your wispy bangs on the side as he can see it hurting your eyes
Your gaze softens as he whispers "You're so pretty"
And out of the blue, there goes his antics, he goes down on his knees
"I would seriously die for you!" He shouts out loud earning an attention to some of your friends
You laugh as you try to help him get up but he won't budge
"I will worship you every single day until I die!"
Steve appears in the corner as he announces
"The Grinch is about to start y'all gonna miss it!"
You and Eddie giggle as he finally back up to his feet
Both of you get what you want to chomp down while watching the film
He gave you, your favorite, the buttered popcorn
You blushed as you about to take it he pulled you as he kisses your cheek that alone made you let out a small gasp and he smirks
Causing you to flip him off as he laughs
While heading at the living room both of you started teasing at each other
"if you left you won't be getting that popcorn"
"Yeah, yeah, you won- stop gloating already"
"You love me, don't you?"
"Shut up"
"You love meeee"
"I do"
He's like a goddamn kid, hopping like a toddler as he pulls you to his side, you look at him with a glowing smile
Unbeknownst to the both of you, Jeff, Gareth, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Robin and even Steve both shared high-fives together when both of you finally get together at last
