Alright before the Spanish GP I had posted my top ten favorite drivers now that we've got a break here's the new list

Carlos Sainz - this is never changing. I got into F1 because of him. Now if only he'd announce where he's going next

Fernando Alonso - and much like some of his famous on track overtakes this man has come outta nowhere to steal 2nd place courtesy of scratching my millennial brain in all the right places and being a meme, a legend, a chaos gremlin and a sex god

Esteban Ocon - is he still a problem child? Yes. Do I still love him and want him to have a redemption arc? Also yes. Este my brother just settle your ass down

George Russell - the man shouted a Flintstones quote upon winning Austria, he's so sweet to his gf, and in general is just very polite and caring if also a bit adorably awkward at times. Plus the Goat Simulator stream video lives in my head rent free

Daniel Ricciardo - literally the male high performance athlete version of me. Except I'm actually from Texas and I think I may act less Texan than that man does

Logan Sargent - I'm American and he's our only driver and while on the track he's been a bit of a disappointment I love that he has been nothing but class as a person. Also he legitimately looks like Captain America fucked an apple pie he's just SO American

Oscar Piastri - I just love Lando's tired parent Oscar who's just so delightfully dry. He's my fav baby on the grid. Must protect Piastri at all costs

Charles Leclerc - I got into this sport because of the C² videos so he's always gonna have to show up in these lists even if he had that "ding dong" with Carlos that made me wanna smack him in the head with a toaster because Carlos is always so supportive of his team mates and Charles was not matching the energy that week.

Lando Norris - he's so sweet with the kiddos and just such a kid himself he's a delight. Also really mate? You just yeet Oscar's shoe away? Lol

Alex Albon - I don't know if anyone on the grid could be purer. He's made of snowflakes and powdered sugar and dandelion fluffs. He is too pure for this world and unlike Oscar who absolutely can look out for himself cause he's a badass I legitimately want to bubble wrap this precious nugget

Honorable mention my trauma vehicle Max Verstappen who still inspires me when it comes to healing from a hard ass dad but I can definitely do without a Verstappen win so he didn't make the list lol

My 2023 F1 Predictions

I heard we're doing predictions for 2023 so here are mine:

Binotto out or demoted and Ferrari get a new team principal

Checo will be investigated for Monaco, crashgate 2.0 ensues and Danny Ric will be back at Red Bull in the second seat

Oscar Piastri / Lando will crash into each other constantly

Aston Martin will be best of the rest

George Russell WDC -> Lewis announces retirement, Mick Schumacher gets the second seat for 2024 (I have my reasons why) (update; Mick is the reserve driver for Mercedes...)

Leclerc will fully enter his reputation era. The Tifosi will love it

Carlos Sainz v George Russell v Leclerc v Verstappen for WDC title fight

Wind tunnel time reduction causes Red Bull to lose #1 car spot

Helmut Marko dies( I am not wishing this on him!) I just feel like he will and in response Red Bull and Alpha Tauri will suffer for it because he does so much for the teams.

F1 Monaco Grand Prix: Charles Leclerc and Ferrari secure famous win

In short: Charles Leclerc has won his first Monaco Grand Prix, beating Australian Oscar Piastri and Spaniard Carlos Sainz.A three-car crash on the opening lap involving Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen led to the race being stopped.What’s next? F1 heads to North America in a fortnight for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. Charles Leclerc has beaten Australian Oscar Piastri to win the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time. The native Monegasque led from start to finish, ending years of heartache at his home race where he had qualified on pole twice before. He became the first native Monegasque to win a Monaco Grand Prix that was part of the F1 championship. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz finished third, benefiting from a red flag on the first lap, after he had picked up a puncture after with Piastri. The race was stopped on the first lap after a three-car crash left debris strewn across the famous street circuit. The Red Bull of Sergio Perez was left with just one wheel properly attached to his car, after he and the Haas of Kevin Magnussen clipped wheels and both went into the barriers, with the other Haas of Nico Hulkenberg being collateral damage. Former F1 driver turned commentator Martin Brundle described the crash as a “monster of an accident” while commenting on the state of Perez’s car. “Look at how well the survival cell has worked,” Brundle told Sky Sports after seeing Perez out of the car. “That’s kind of written-off every single piece of that Formula 1 car.” The wild opening lap also claimed Esteban Ocon, who retired after causing a collision with his own Alpine teammate. But once the carnage settled and the race restarted, Leclerc was flawless on his way to a famous victory. “It’s such a difficult race. I think the fact that twice I have been started on pole position and we couldn’t quite make it, makes [winning] even better,” the Ferrari star said. “It means a lot obviously. It’s the race that made me dream of being a Formula 1 driver. “It was a difficult race emotionally because 15 laps to the end you’re just hoping nothing happens.” Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc beat McLaren’s Oscar Piastri to win the Monaco Grand Prix.(Reuters: Jennifer Lorenzini) From the restart, the race fell into the repetitive pattern of all drivers trying to conserve their tyres. The red flag allowed all drivers (except Logan Sargent) to make their mandatory tyre compound change, meaning they did not have to come into the pit for the rest of the race. The top four of Leclerc, Piastri, Sainz and Lando Norris were on the hard compound, which had the best of making it 77 laps, while Verstappen, Russell and Hamilton — who started on the hard compound and switched to the medium — had a much harder challenge to get to the end. The top four streaked away from the field and in a battle for the race win, with tyre life the major focus. A game of cat-and-mouse between Ferrari and McLaren developed as drivers conserved their tyres and the teams trying to figure out if the needed to pit, or could stay out and secure track position. Ultimately no pit stop was needed for the top four, with Piastri desperately holding onto second place with a damaged floor after the lap one contact with Sainz. Despite not achieving his maiden win in F1, Piastri was all smiles after his second place finish. “It’s been a great weekend all round and nice to put a result on the board,” Piastri said. “I feel like we’ve been very strong for the last few weekends but didn’t really have the results to show for it. “It’s nice to have a podium — and what better place.” Sports content to make you think… or allow you not to.
