Sometimes I forget that I’m younger than 90% of my coworkers by 1 or 2 decades and my experiences aren’t universal cause my coworkers were talking about reading Percy Jackson to their students and I was like “Oh my god I love Percy Jackson!!!! I can’t wait for the new Disney series!” and they looked at me like 🤨 and I was like 🫥
Cause sorry, I forgot you were talking from the “I’m a 4th grade teacher reading a book with my class” perspective while I was answering from the “I am a person who read Percy Jackson as a child and have grown up loving the series and characters as they grew with me” perspective and we did not line up in enthusiasm from those perspectives
#I read Percy Jackson before I was in fourth grade but my fourth grade class read it as a class as well#in terms of life experience I’m pretty much a child to my coworkers#there’s literally one other coworker who is young and doesn’t have kids#I’ve literally aged with Percy since I read the first book when I was a little younger than 12 and the later series#with him as a teen and young adult have come out when I was a teen and young adult#like we grew up together let me be excited to hear our students may have that joy#also let me be excited we’re finally getting a (so far) good adaptation of a beloved childhood book#cause last childhood book I saw Disney adapt was fucking Artemis fowl and that has deeply wounded me

Heart, Exposed by an Aphrodisiac 1
This is simply a fan translation and is not intended as a replacement for the game. Expect grammatical errors.
One day in January, as the frost set in and it grew even colder, I visited the university carrying Isaac's bento, Blanc, and some snacks.
The students at the university were starting to pull all-nighters to finish their theses and research projects before graduation, and Isaac, being a professor, was planning to stay for that reason.
Isaac: "Thank you for making all these snacks. And there's quite a lot of them, too."
Mitsuki: "I made some for the students in the lab. If you want, you can all eat together."
The students around us seemed to have heard our conversation as their eyes lit up and they thanked us one after another.
Student 1: "Thank you!"
Student 2: "Yay, snacks!"
Isaac: "You all should move your hands more than your mouths."
I couldn't help but let out a small laugh after hearing Isaac's words directed at the excited students.
Isaac: "Thanks, Mitsuki. I'll eat it later, so be careful on your way back."
Mitsuki: "Okay. Well then, see you later."
As Isaac closed the door to the lab, the door of the neighboring lab opened at that exact moment.
Galileo: "........"
Upon seeing the person emerging from the room, I widened my eyes slightly.
Mitsuki: "----!"
(Galileo...)
The moment I saw his face, my heart made a small thump.
Mitsuki: "Hello. Gal一um, Professor Maury."
(Crap. I almost called him by his real name without considering who might be listening.)
Galileo frowned for a moment but didn’t particularly mention anything further.
Mitsuki: “Are you heading to a lecture now?”
Galileo: “Yes, but why are you here?”
Mitsuki: “Um, I brought some snacks for Professor Ayscough.”
Galileo: “I see. If you’re done, then go home.”
Galileo answered dispassionately and quickly walked away.
(Now that I’m done with my errand, I should head home too.)
As I walked outside the university, his image unexpectedly popped into my head.
(I wonder if Galileo is also staying overnight at the university like Isaac.)
We’ve crossed paths several times before, and not too long ago, we unexpectedly shared a glass of wine on his birthday.
(I think that was the first time I found out about his real name.)
I was so shocked when I learned Galileo used "Alinbert Maury" as his name at the university.
------------Flashback-----------
Galileo: "Due to certain circumstances, I usually go by 'Maury,' but 'Galileo' is my real name."
Galileo: "I feel strange about it myself, but for some reason, on the day we met, I revealed my true name to you, no matter how trivial it may be."
---------Flashback Ends--------
(He shared his real name with me.)
Recalling this, a warm feeling spread through my chest.
(We've gotten to know each other a bit. I hope we can become even closer.)
Although we're not yet close, with every exchange, I find myself wanting to know more about him.
Galileo's presence was gradually growing inside me.
(He must be going through a tough time, just like the students.)
(I'd like to give him something, but...)
I remembered his words from when we celebrated his birthday together.
------------Flashback-----------
Galileo: "Mitsuki."
Galileo: "Stop trying to get involved with me."
---------Flashback Ends--------
Galileo drew a clear line, telling me not to get involved with him.
Still, I didn't give up and ended up going to see him afterwards.
Mitsuki: "It's probably annoying if I keep coming uninvited."
Despite my desire to do something, I couldn't help but be frustrated by the distance between us.
He may give off a cold impression, but he occasionally shows a gentle side, and that's why I find myself wanting to get closer to him.
(I wish I could understand more about what he's thinking.)
A few days later--
Isaac, who has been busy lately, is having a meal at the mansion after a long time.
Isaac: "Having a meal at the mansion is really relaxing."
Mitsuki: "I'm glad. It seemed like you've been going through a lot lately."
Isaac: "Yeah. But you bringing me food and Blanc has been a huge help."
Isaac: "Oh, right."
Isaac spoke up as if he remembered something.
Isaac: "Hey, sorry to ask, but could you increase the number of snacks?"
Mitsuki: "What's going on all of a sudden?"
Isaac: "Your food has been a huge hit among the students.”
Isaac: "When the students in the neighboring lab heard about it, they all got excited and said they wanted to try them, too."
Isaac: "So if you can afford it, could you also make some for them?"
Isaac: "I know it's a bit cheeky of me to ask you this."
(He must be talking about Galileo's lab, right?)
Despite having some concerns, it's heartening to know that he's expecting more.
Mitsuki: "Sure. You’re all working hard, so if I can help even a little, I'd be happy to."
Isaac: "Thank you, Mitsuki."
(I’ll do my best to make the students happy!)

Life of a Gender Activist
I was recently assigned the most exciting project in graduate school! My professor asked us to complete a Wikipedia stub that was related to either gender, sexuality, or technology. I, of course, went with gender, as I am a self-proclaimed feminist. After scrolling through the gender stubs, I came upon a feminist theologian. She would rather not be named, so for the sake of this blog post we will call her, C.R.F. It was very difficult to find biographical information on her, and since she has recently retired, it was also very difficult to locate her. I put on my detective cap and within two days of research, I found her personal email. Because she inspired me so much, and I believe she deserves all of the recognition in the world, I would like to share our email correspondence with anyone who may be interested.
Graduate Student:
Good morning, [C.R.F]!
My name is [omitted] , and I am a current graduate student at the University of [omitted].
I am taking a class titled "Gender, Sexuality, and Technology". One of our assignments this semester is to publish an incomplete Wikipedia stub. I saw your name, and read your article titled, "Queen of Sheba". You immediately intrigued me. I grew up Catholic, and still practice my religion today. Your intersectional views on Christianity and feminism are wonderful.
I was curious if you would be able to, or would like to, give me any information that you would like to see on your Wikipedia page? I have found information on a few sources, but coming directly from you would assure me that it was not only credible, but something you would enjoy having written about you.
The assignment is due Friday, and nearly complete, but anything you would like for me to add that isn't readily available on the internet would be magnificent.
Thank you for all the inspiring work you have done!
C.R.F:
Dear [omitted],
How nice to hear from a current student! First, let me congratulate you on your resourcefulness: I am not an easy person to locate since I retired to the Berkshires, and no longer have an institutional affiliation!
I recently published an article in an open access online journal, Religions, whose links I am listing below.
Website: https://www.mdpi.com/2077-1444/15/9/1121 PDF Version: https://www.mdpi.com/2077-1444/15/9/1121/
(There is also some biographical information attached to it somewhere in a database called ORCID)
This is my most recent (and perhaps last) article written since the death of my husband in 2023, after a grueling 3 year stint as a full time caregiver for him. I think this article on Genesis and the Song of Songs is probably the best thing I’ve ever written, and best exemplifies what I try to do as an artist and theologian working in Bible. It exemplifies my multidisciplinary approach to texts, and shows the ways I have tried to introduce biblical materials into the marketplace of ideas in the modern world. In that respect, it follows in the trajectory of my last, and most favorite book, « With Eyes of Flesh: the Bible, Gender, and Human Rights » (2008). There, I took up the different representations of suffering and theodicy, but from a feminist, human-rights based methodology.
My view is that it is impossible to interpret the text and place it in conversation with modern life unless we first understand its ancient context, refracted thru the prism of overlapping methodologies. I start from a wisdom based understanding of « everyday values », NOT law codes pulled together by elites , and I privilege the body as a locus of meaning. The sufferer, Job, wonders if the punishing transcendant god sees « with eyes of flesh, as human’s see », such that the given reasons for suffering as punishment or test make any sense to those enduring raw suffering. The sufferer’s views must take pride of place in theodicy talk: Job doesn’t feel especially redeemed, despite the folktale’s classic « happy ending », and his wife’s view is barely noted. This is unacceptable, and law does not satisfy the questions of the flesh. I concluded that texts about theodicy would be better and more useful if viewed as « humanitarian narratives », that is, stories about what happens to bodies. Ultimately, this led me to a view of Jesus of Nazareth as a Human Rights Hero, whose suffering redeems humans through its radical solidarity with those crushed beneath the weight of Authority. The Human Condition will always be subject to the vicissitudes of chance and circumstance, but we are not alone in this when we proclaim that as divine connection, rather than sin which deserves to be punished, thereby foreclosing any outcry against injustice.
Since 1999, I worked in Human Rights discourse, working my way up as a theologian (not an especially valued role in HR settings), speaking of the human rights of women and other disposable humans in the Ancient Near East, contrasting legal traditions with everyday experience of the lesser valued members of society. To this end, I adopted the methodology of Martha Nussbaum and Amartya Sen on « human capacities » which lead to human flourishing, rather than stratified patriarchal values promoted by the religions of the Book. My focus in modern societies has been on women, especially Muslim women who strain against the conventions of their societies, finding their authorization in new, collective action informed by the Quran. I have been blessed to hear the stories of many Muslim women prisoners and victims of systemic governmental abuse, always passed off as an attempt to purify society from error..as defined by men.
I also introduced there the existing methods of recording and responding to the absence of real women and children from the standards set forth United Nations Declaration of Universal Human Rights (UNDUHR). I serve as the Research Associate for the Women’s United Nations Report Network (WUNRN, see their website), using their schematic of the UNDUHR’s vision of economic, social and cultural rights (ESC), where we find that women’s rights and religious rights are usually seen as « cultural rights », that must defer to the economic and social well being of the whole of society. As in the Bible and Quran, women’s legal standing and rights thereof are perched precariously between property law (she is owned, like chattel) and family law (she both creates the family members by giving birth to,them, and so has some stake in inheritance law). Neither types of law have the notion of female flourishing as their goal. (You can see this played out in the lethal struggles of male politicians to reclassify women as reproductive entities whose functions must be regulated by male authorities..this is the only way to have a Pro-Forced Birth ideology that winds up executing non-performing mothers. Pro-Life, indeed!
I long for a day when women and girls are treated as well as domestic animals, and have more—or at least as many—rights as cows and chickens.
I went into human rights interpretation out of a sense of outrage at how religions were used to denigrate and dehumanize females as mere functionaries for the perpetuation of male values. I waited in vain to hear theologians and religious authorities reform themselves as true supporters of equality, or find intellectual feminisms addressing themselves to needs of women and girls in real life. The whimsies of theological deconstruction ( which is an ontological necessity!) seldom seem to make much difference to the passions of daily experience, and the whole planet suffers for it, even unto our collective death of species and ecosystems.
Some other items not usually found in public CVs:
I was raised in segregated south, in Miami in the area which later came to be known as «Little Haiti ». I lived just under the poverty line, and was lucky to learn about life in a mix of poor whites and blacks, Cuban Refugees, and sex-trafficked Haitian girls. I went to college entirely on scholarship. My Cuban guidance counselor filled
out my applications to college entirely without my knowledge, and then presented me with a ´done deal’. I had gotten to know him through my stint in punishment in the Assistant Principal’s office for my refusal to salute the flag after Martin Luther King’s assassination, and only reciting the Pledge by substituting « with liberty and Justice for some of us ». While in detention I relieved my boredom by helping « bad boys » from my neighborhood with their homework, and discovering the problem: they had never been taught to read! So I told Mr. Rodriguez.
I was one of the children that Eleanor Roosevelt rounded up in buses, and took out of our environment, to listen to our first taste of classical music, conducted by Leonard Bernstein. Afterwards, the former First Lady gave us a lecture on Human Rights. Both those exposures exploded my mind, opening it to unheard dimensions of life.
I was a member of a Southern Baptist churçh, very interested because they gave us grape juice and cookies along with Bible lessons, and the first time I ever heard of Jesus was in the song « I was glad when they said unto me, « Let us go unto the House of the Lord » (because there were cookies there!). The story of the boy Jesus ditching his parents and running away to teach his elders in the Temple became a clear beacon I could follow. I left the church in 1966, during the Civil’Rights movement, after seeing the looks on the faces of the white congregants when a black family came to worship. Sitting in the choir, facing the congregation, I had visual proof of their beliefs. When I asked my Sunday School teacher about the teachings of Jesus, she told me that he was talking about how it would be in Heaven, not on Earth. Justice was for later.
A countervailing blessing against the fundamentalism of my church was the fact that my mother worked for Jews, and my best friend in elementary school was from a « mixed » family: a Jewish father whose family perished in Auschwitz, and a Southern Baptist mother who saw beyond boundaries. So, I was exposed to ways of being that cancelled out the hegemony of racism of my environment.
I was very lucky to have been influenced by wonderful male scholars in Bible: the Carmelite Father Roland E. Murphy, editor of the Catholic Bible Commentary; D. CLaus Westermann, the German form critic at the University of Heidelberg, who had been a prisoner of war in a Russian labor camp in WWII, and William Child Robinson, Jr., the Gnostic tradition history scholar, who had led a tank unit in WWII. These men freely shared their views and experiences of suffering, and encouraged me beyond measure.
I became engaged in HR work when my Baptist workplace entered into a relationship with Hebrew College in Boston in 1999. I sat next to a Pakistani feminist scholar of the Quran, Riffat Hassan. She was running an online resource for women fleeing Honor Killings, and I offered to lend my digital skills to the enterprise. From there, I met the head of WUNRN, and worked with Lois Herman, as a digital volunteer and writer of reports. This led me into the realm of Iranian Women dissidents of the National Council of Resistançe, and their stunning leader, Maryam Rajavi, the very model of a practical theologian along the lines of the Church Fathers. Since the Iraq War I was in progress, and every Muslim must be a terrorist, I came to the attention of the State Department and security services, all of whom concluded that I was merely a « dissident », but not a terrorist. I was audited, studied, shown off to Amnesty International leaders from Europe as an example of how well U.S. religion dissidents were treated and allowed freedom of speech. So, I became international, speaking in Paris, London, Toronto, Berlin, and maintaining many mentoring relationships, and writing reports on Iranian women and girls being held in Erin Prison in Tehran. While the HR world might not have known why a theologian was
involved in their work, they were glad to have a writer on board, so eventually I spoke to women’s groups at the UN, and wrote reports on Muslim women for Department of Public Information of UNWomen.
All of this trained me for analysis of things happening to women and the poor in my own country, and shaped my biblical scholarship to hold itself accountable to the world of sufferers. As an artist and poet, I used those modalities to cope with pain from a TBI in a car accident in 1969, and to remain sane in the struggles. With Roland Theresa of Avila, and John of the Cross as teachers, I practiced a Carmelite Zen form of meditation that dulled the pain, and kept me from death many times.
Librarians, school counselors, professors, activists, and artists gave me a life I never imagined or planned. One day in a cool, calm library in Miami where I hid out from gunfire, I came across a small, intriguing book as I read my way through the Dewey Decimal System (I was very bored as a teen), called « What is to be done? » by someone called V. I . Lenin. Flipping through it, I felt like one of the fleeing Christians after the Crucifixition, meeting a strange man by the sea, « Do you remember how our hearts were opened and set aflame when he opened the Scriptures to us? » they asked themselves ». And so it was for me, as this dead, reviled Russian described the sufferings of the very world around me! I was transformed by the potential power of collective action.
I like to think my haphazard life is my answer to What is to be done?
Thanks for asking! I made this long and biographical so you could finish your paper on time without any more bibliographic detective work.
So: this is Eleanor, Roland, Claus, Bill, Maryam, Riffat, Lois and yes, even Vladimir Illyich, and the rest of the world, reaching out to you, [omitted] , as you ask yourself, What Is To Be Done?
In Zen meditation, we say « If you meet a warrior on the road, show him your sword; if you meet a Zen person on the road, show her your poem. »
Here’s my riddle poem that sums it all up:
Traveling into the silence of God,
How loud the cries of the world become..
Til « Come to Me! » and « Go to them! »
Together merge, to be heard as One.
The scholars on the soup kitchen street
Read a living text etched out in crow’s feet,
Hear the Exile’s tale on every tongue.
Cordially,

Graduate Student:
Dr. [C.R.F],
I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I believe it is because I am at a loss for words. All I can say is ‘wow’. I cannot thank you enough for letting me know so much about you. You are an incredibly intelligent and brave woman. I hope you are taking this time to heal and find solace after the passing of your husband. I am a fairly new bride and that is one of those things that aches my heart to even imagine.
I feel, as a feminist myself, that your story has to be told. You are a courageous activist, a highly intelligent academic, and from what I've heard, an upstanding professor. This is becoming something worth more than a good grade to me. I would like to ask your permission to post our conversation on a blog post so that I can properly cite it. I could cite an email; however, I fear that it would be immediately removed due to other's inabilities to access the information. Would you be okay with this?
Once again, I appreciate you and your story so much.
I hope you have a magnificent day! 🙂

Dear [omitted],
[...]
Yes, I think what I have written could have a broader, helpful impact, but also don’t want to shake up unsuspecting communities.
How about this:
Post on Blog, with intro explaining your project. Entitle it “ Life of a Gender Activist” or some such thing, and maybe conceal my address, name, whatnot. How about just using my initials instead of full name... [multiple paragraphs omitted due to privacy concerns]
How does that sound to you?

Tattoo artist! Sukuna x reader part 4
Hello, it's me your friendly neighborhood Sukuna simp, I don't have much to ramble about today, I hope you have fun reading this part :)
Series masterlist here
Warnings: Language, alcohol consumption, implied smut that I'm too shy to write.
The café was unusually quiet today, maybe it's because the other days y/n found herself sitting at that exact spot by the window, Mai was the one sitting across from her. Today was different, Nobara took Mai's place for brunch after class, to be fair she hadn't showed up in some time so both Nobara and y/n jumped at the opportunity to spend some time together.
"So, does it feel lonely now that Yuuji and Mai spend so much time together?" Nobara asked, evidently trying to make y/n admit to some form of jealousy she was sure she had. "Not really, I'm happy she's finally with someone so good for her and she's finally off my back about hooking me up with random dudes" y/n said and she was honestly happy for her best friend, Yuuji was a very nice guy and in the past few weeks he's been seeing Mai, he's nothing less of a sweetheart and y/n saw him a as a little sibling even though they were roughly the same age.
"Of course, why would you be lonely, Sukuna's been keeping you company too." Nobara's eyes had a glimmer in them, not because she wanted to tease y/n, but she was very invested in the girls business with the oh so attractive tattoo artist.
Nobara did her homework on the guy, he certainly wasn't as polite or well mannered as he came across the night they met. He did seem like trouble at first glance, but the way he looked at y/n that night, or the times he waited for her to get off class to have some time together, Nobara would say that even a blind man could see that y/n had been tugging on Sukuna's heartstrings.
"It's not like that" y/n was once again flustered. What was she to the pink haired man, who missed no chance to be around her? "You're making out in his car in broad daylight, what is it like?" the brown haired girl chuckled, her friend was an idiot if she worried for a second about the man who looked at her like she would disappear at any second. "I don't know, but we aren't together like that, he's an interesting guy" y/n longed to be with him, she had a faint memory about him talking about something like that the time he spend the night with her, but then again, she was drunk and that could be her mind playing cruel tricks on her.
"Ok then whatever you say, I really hope you're not doubting the dude that cooked you ten different options for breakfast, after he took your drunk ass home."
"Wait how do you know about that- did Mai? Oh I'm gonna kill her."
Despite the tiny voice asking 'what are we?' in y/n's head, her days with Sukuna have been some of the best she's had. Granted they couldn't see each other that often, whenever they did, it was always better than the time before.
Sukuna had taken her to all the restaurants he knew were good, cafes with the best tiramisu she had ever tasted, taking an hour and a half to get to the next place he'd see her smile listening to her excitement filled voice as she told him how delicious the food was, then giving him some attitude mumbling about how she didn't expect him to have such nice taste, was the easiest victory to him, the highlight of his day.
He hadn't managed to get her back to his chair like he needed to yet, he had been so busy finding the best places to take her to that it seemed like it completely slipped his mind. It hasn't slipped Sukuna's mind though, he's just been nervous to bring it up again, what if she doesn't want to do that anymore? What if she changed her mind? What if she just agreed because she felt compelled to do so? Sukuna didn't know which one was worse.
Even on the days they couldn't see each other they were in touch, texting silly things or messing with each other. If a day was anything other good Sukuna could vent and let out his frustrations talking to y/n and she often did the same. Sukuna preferred calling her for that, not only to get things off his chest but because her voice was so calming to him, the need to hear it grew stronger each day he wasn't able to see her.
Afternoon classes were always adding to her demise, y/n even accepted Mai's gossiping over paying attention. Yuuji as she expected was as sweet as he looked, Mai was once again gushing over him and his adorable nature. Y/n just smiled at her friend who rumbled about the boy who, by now had a very firm hold of her heart. "You and Sukuna?" She asked, prying for any information she didn't already know from Yuuji. "Me and Sukuna" y/n stated back, shit eating grin on her face, knowing how not entertaining Mai and not feeding her what she wanted completely pissed her off. Y/n's phone buzzed from her pocket, giving her a little break from her friends curiosity.
Can I take you out after class?
Y/n's lips tagged into a small smile. "Speak of the devil" Mai teased looking over y/n's phone.
Hmm depends. Where to?
Its a surprise, doll
You know I hate surprises, but I can make an exception for you.
Mai pretend to gag next to her, but y/n payed her no mind. She had already seen enough from her and Yuuji to do the same.
You won't regret it, I'll be outside when you're done.
"Just don't make out in the parking lot again, being in his car doesn't mean that we don't see you." Mai was being Mai again. Y/n shoved her arm lightly and told her that they all knew how her and Yuuji sneaked around the bathrooms, laughing as her face flushed red.
Sukuna entered her field of view leaning against his car, finishing up a cigarette, looking too good for anyone not to stare at him. The total black outfit he had on did wonders for him, even if it was the simplest of crew cut shirts and sweatpants, every piece of clothing complimented him. Waving at Mai, y/n walked towards him noticing he's cocky expression. "Feels like you're eating me up with those eyes" he laughed, why must the sound of his voice be this melodic at all times. "Don't worry I missed you too" Sukuna said laying a soft kiss on y/n's lips as a greeting. If her fellow students weren't staring already, now they surely were .
" Where are we headed tonight?" Y/n asked fastening her seatbelt, she still kind of thought of Sukuna as clumsy, even though he's driven her many places, it's not that she didn't trust him, he was a very good driver. Hey safety comes first.
"You'll find out" he spoke with a little grin, before starting his engine and driving off.
Unlocking his door, he let y/n step inside first. Sukuna's house was surprisingly neat, everything looked to be in place, the décor was minimalistic. It felt like Sukuna very home-y, but then it didn't. It was too tidy, y/n didn't really think of him as a tidy person. The place also had his scent of sandalwood so y/n easily relaxed into the new space taking some more steps forward to look around.
"Bringing me to your house like this without taking me to dinner first, tsk should've known you were that type 'kuna." Y/n said in a mockingly disapproving tone "Who said that, I'm cooking dinner for you." Sukuna said draping his arm around her shoulders guiding her to his kitchen.
Whatever Sukuna had on his stove smelled scrumptious, making y/n's mouth water, maybe how pretty Sukuna looked with an apron on and a little sweat forming on his forehead from the heat of the stove helped too.
"You know, I would have never guessed you knew how to cook." Y/n let some of her assumptions fly in the room, she was the only one with a pass to talk about whatever she wanted with him. Sukuna wasn't going to shut her down. Y/n had leaned back on his table, her eyes roamed his figure freely. Sukuna would look over his shoulder smiling to himself every time he caught her in the act.
"I had to learn, Yuuji and I lived with our Grandpa, when he passed, it was just me and him." Y/n's heart clenched in her chest, Sukuna sounded different saying that. The truth is, Sukuna had never talked about that with anyone, he never made word of his grandfather's passing or the hardships him and his brother went through when they were left alone. He had mentioned to y/n that his and Yuuji's grandfather raised them, but from the way he spoke about him y/n was sure his Grandfather was doing well. "I'm sorry for your loss" was all she could muster at that moment, the pain in his voice was much too real for her. "Thank you, at least my brother turned out pretty good" he quickly changed the subject to something ligter, surprised at his self for opening up to her so easily. "You didn't turn out that bad either" y/n let the words spill, she had spent the past half hour blatantly checking out his back, she had nothing to get shy about. Sukuna let out a laugh, gripping his wooden spoon a little tighter throwing a glance over his shoulder. "Is that what you think?" Y/n shifted in her seat, how could this guy go from sentimental to laughing about his brother and to whatever this dark seductive tone was, she had no idea.
"Come on don't get shy on me, you were having fun checking me out just a minute ago, see anything you like" in the blink of an eye, Sukuna was slightly bent down facing her. Even after all the makeout sessions they've had that usually ended with y/n slapping his arm worrying that someone saw them and Sukuna looking at her with a cocky grin reassuring her that they gave a good show to whoever was watching, he could still make her all flustered, and she looked adorable like this, a deer caught in headlights. Sukuna kissed the tip of her nose, telling her she looked cute before turning his attention back on the food.
"Did you find that movie?" Sukuna's voice came from the kitchen, y/n was fumbling with the remote on his couch. Sukuna insisted on eating in his living room, he didn't want this to feel too formal, he still had whine out with fancy plates and everything, but he only wanted to cook for his girl and see her eyes light up eating his food, like they always did when she tried the food on the restaurants he took her.
"Yeah, here let me help with that." She said getting of the couch to help him set everything. "No no no, you go sit down, I'll do the work." Sukuna insisted, y/n only raised a brow at him and complied.
"Okay, you have to teach me, this tastes so good 'kuna" that nickname stuck, not that Sukuna complained, his stomach still did flips every time y/n called him that. She was looking at him just the way he hoped she would. The dish was quite simple, chicken with some red salsa and vegetables, but it was better than anything she'd ever tasted.
"I can give you a little cooking class, as long as you go grocery shopping" He offered her a little smile and y/n rolled her eyes playfully.
Y/n was leaning on Sukuna's chest with her arm hooked around his waist, he had a firm hold of her too, mindlessly looking at the screen but not paying enough attention to it. The movie y/n chose turned out to be a barely watchable C grade thriller and the two glasses of wine they had didn't make it tolerable either. Bad movie or not, having her under his arm like this was all he needed to feel calmer. Sukuna was so calm that he forgot why he brought y/n over.
"Can I show you something?" Sukuna spoke softly, looking down at her, y/n nodded in reply and groaned loudly at the loss of his warmth when he got up from the couch, Sukuna could only chuckle at her .
"Just two drinks and you're already a brat."
"Shut up."
Sukuna came back holding a big folder and some sketch books, y/n's curiosity picked and she found herself straightening up a bit.
"I've been dying to show you these." Sukuna stated as he flipped through the pages. Y/n's eyes danced all over the various shapes and designs he had came up with. Her eyes traced a particular three headed fox, she had never seen anything like that before, she reached out her hand to feel his drawing on her fingertips.
Sukuna's heart picked up its pace, she was currently in aww at his favourite piece for her. "Are those what you told me you came up with form me?" She was amused, she stared at him wide eyed not believing that anyone would ever do something like that for her, "Yeah, every design here is meant for you, you can pick whichever you like, but if you don't want me to tattoo you, I'll understand, you don't have to let me if you don't want to." Y/n couldn't believe it, there were enough drawings in here to fill her entire body in ink. She had hardly believed him when he said he had a vision for her sleeve, but this, this was out of this world.
"I don't even know what to say, these are so beautiful, but why did you go through all this trouble?" She still couldn't see a reason for it. "You've given me so much inspiration from the first time you visited, I can't get your skin out of my head, seeing you in my work is just surreal. I would do anything to do it again" Sukuna's words had not yet sunken in properly, y/n was still in disbelief.
Sukuna placed his sketchbooks on the coffee table, his hand prompting y/n's chin up so he can look at her face in the dim lights of his living room. "I will decorate any part of your skin you're willing to give to me, I'll give you the best work I can, please let me do this much." Sukuna almost sounded desperate, his face was once more too close and his wine scented breath tickled her lips, he had almost gone mad drawing in most his free time, and every time he saw her, a new idea of what would fit her popped into his head.
"You can do that" the moment these words rolled out of y/n's tongue, Sukuna had heard all he needed, and latched his mouth on hers, allowing his hands to explore more of her body. Between heavy breaths, Sukuna whispered about the softness of her skin, how he couldn't wait to mark her again, how he wanted her to be his canvas, his and only his. Diving in her neck once more, littering her sensitive skin with bruises she'd have to cover up tomorrow and her hands tangled up in his hair. "Just be good for me and I'll be gentle" His words only made her anticipate more.
The next day Sukuna was walking like the happiest man on earth, he woke up and had breakfast with his beloved doll, he had a smile on his face you couldn't miss. His co-workers didn't miss it either nor did they miss the huge forder he had under his arm when he came in, but they didn't question it.
Gojo spent his time teasing him about his unusual demeanor while Geto laughed to himself assuming what everyone else did.
Teasing him and prying about Sukuna's previous day didn't really work in Gojo's favour, Sukuna would simply ignore him and his smile still hadn't fadded. Gojo took it as his personal mission to piss him off when he had a lightbulb moment.
"Come on man, you talk about her all the time and when she comes over we're all working, when are we gonna get to meet her?" Gojo pushed, for the third time today, he finally found a weak spot.
The entire crew was curious meet y/n, properly this time at least, but Gojo was the only one who could confidently voice that. "Tell you what, go one month without fucking someone in here, and we can all go for some drinks tonight." Sukuna said in a joking manner, there was no way Gojo Satoru would agree to something like that, the man couldn't last two days on that deal, he was not about to give his word to Sukuna and take one for the team.
Gojo stood before the pink haired man, his glasses low on the bridge of his nose "Then, it's a deal" he said, obnoxious as ever with his hand extended for Sukuna to take. Sukuna knew Gojo was a man of his word, and if he shook on something, he would no doubt keep his end. Now Sukuna had to keep his as well.
Hey doll, I was wondering if you'd like to go grab a few drinks with me and the rest of the guys after closing?
Sure, I'll be there before nine, what's the occasion?
No need, I'll pick you up, they just really want to meet you, you don't have to come if you don't want to though.
Don't be stupid, I won't pass the opportunity of collecting blackmail on you.
Sukuna was smiling at his phone, that was so typical of y/n, his grin quickly faded once his eyes met the idiots standing before him with hopeful eyes. "Just don't do anything stupid" he sighed defeated before getting back to work, this was going to be a long night.
Y/n easily spotted Sukuna's car, he was parked just further down her street. Carefully swinging the passenger door open, she expected at least extra someone inside, but it was just Sukuna.
"Hey 'kuna." y/n greeted stepping inside, Sukuna faced her with a half smile, lazily bringing his hand on her jawline, pulling her in for a short kiss. "You're looking very pretty today, dollface." he spoke, still inches from her face, as his eyes traced her figure. Every inch of exposed skin begging him to mark it. Sukuna halted his wandering thoughts when y/n spoke again. "Everyone ended up ditching you in the end? cause you could've taken me out without an excuse like that."
"I wish they did, but unfortunately for both of us we'll have to suffer through it, I know you'd rather have me all to yourself." The mare glance he gave her from the corner of his eye as he put the car on speed was enough to have y/n's hear thumping in her chest. "Speak for yourself, airhead." Y/n's tone didn't lack at all in sarcasm. She did want him all to herself but she also was very intrigued by the rest of his crew, Sukuna always spoke about them. Whether it was stories from his childhood, college or everyday work things, y/n kept hearing about Nanami, Geto, Gojo and Megumi so she looked forward to getting to know them for herself. She had only seen Gojo and Nanami. Megumi and Geto had always been occupied when she dropped by the shop she would catch a glimpse of them tonight.
Sukuna's hand had taken a grip of her thigh, making y/n not so focused in their conversation. Sukuna was mindlessly squeezing while warning y/n about his friends.
The bar looked more like a museum in her opinion, still a very beautiful, elegant place. Y/n expected no less from Sukuna, he's already accompanied her to the best small restaurants and patisseries, sometimes she wondered how he came to know this many perfect date spots.
Sukuna had managed to slip his hand in her's the moment he noticed eyes on his precious doll and guided her to the table his co-workers were sat.
"You owe me 50 Nanami, they did show up."
"You're making me regret this already." Sukuna said, his head dipping slightly
"Come on 'kuna don't be such a grump" had that been y/n's voice Sukuna would've smiled down at her and his demeanor would instantly change, Gojo's voice only offered him annoyance.
Y/n took notice and softly brushed his hand with her thumb, Sukuna let a little laugh and proceeded to introduce the girl under his arm to everyone. "Y/n this is Geto, Megumi and you already know Nanami and Gojo here" Sukuna spoke pulling out y/n's seat as she shook hands with everyone. Gojo took the chance to piss his friend off, after all he would have to strictly work for the next month, he brought y/n's hand to his lips, giving her a compliment on her dress, making Sukuna red in the face.
Everyone took a liking to her very quickly, seeing exactly why Sukuna was so taken by her, she was witty and smart with a silver tongue that was also very sharp. Geto begun telling her about Sukuna's embarrassing drunk nights in college while Gojo laughed and even Nanami snickered. Megumi made Sukuna regret the day he considered taking him in his shop when he told y/n how he always cried as a kid if he didn't have a cookie after his meal. "That's why you always grumble about dessert?" Y/n asked him choking in laughter, Sukuna mumbled a reply and went back to looking annoyed, he was really happy to see y/n interact with his friends so effortlessly. This girl was constantly giving him more reasons to be around her.
Y/n was in the middle of a deep conversation with Nanami about philosophy, her eyes gleaming when he mentioned Plato's allegory of the cave. Geto subtly tapped Megumi's leg to get him to notice how Sukuna was resting his chin on his hand staring at y/n, who was blabbering about Greek philosophers, with the most sweet expression on his face any of them had seen. Gojo also took notice of that and an unspoken pact of 'annoy the fuck out of Sukuna' was made then and there.
"Have you thought about the next thing you want done or did you just want one tattoo?" Gojo asked the girl, breaking her conversation with Nanami a little too early for her liking.
"Yeah, I'll be getting some more work from Sukuna pretty soon" y/n replied proudly, her mind wandering to the night before to Sukuna and the beautiful pieces he came up with just for her. Sukuna perked up, his heart thumping by how happy y/n sounded with these words rolling out her lips.
"You sure you want him to do it though? You know I'm free if you need." Gojo's voice was condescending like always. Sukuna tensed up, jaw clenching at the thought of anyone laying a finger on y/n's skin. "Are you crazy? with work like this, I wouldn't let anyone else do it." Y/n laughed, Gojo must've been joking anyway.
Sukuna found so much comfort in her reply, she loved his artistry and never hesitated to show it, no matter how much of a brat she could be with him. Geto butted in the conversation too "y/n is right, look at how beautiful Sukuna's work looks on her, there's no way she'd change him." Y/n nodded at his words. "But I also do black and gray, I'm sure I could come up with something for you" Sukuna's eyes were glaring daggers at the raven haired man next to him, he remained oblivious to it laughing on the inside, Sukuna was so predictable.
"Thanks, but you said it yourself, there's no way I'd change him." Y/n spoke confidently, taking a sip of her vodka, knowing that at this point she was stroking Sukuna's ego and it would only grow bigger. Sukuna had no idea what everyone was onto trying to tattoo y/n, probably piss him off. From the looks of it, y/n wasn't going to let that happen. Nanami was observing quietly exchanging a few more words with y/n, he was right about her not taking other people's bullshit, Gojo couldn't pull anything with her, Nanami could see what Sukuna saw in her.
"Y/n, when you first came you were going to get tattooed by Megumi right?" Nanami spoke, Sukuna never expected him to join the others in their stupidity. "Yeah, he takes the walk ins right?" Y/n said casually, paying no mind to what Nanami was trying to do, the rest of them were also shocked that he decided to join in on making Sukuna's night a little hellish. Oh the betrayal.
"Did you want to get tattooed by Megumi?" Such a simple question, but Sukuna was at the edge of his seat "Yeah, I did, he was the reason I chose Domain in the first place, everyone loves this guy's work, I was pretty excited." Sukuna's face dropped, it's not like he didn't expect that, of course y/n came based on the reviews, he couldn't be mad at her for not booking him, she didn't even know him. He was pretty happy that he ended up taking her in that day, even if his insides boiled with jealousy at this very moment "Sorry for ruining your plans doll" the same smugness echoed in his voice "I can only stay mad at you for so long." Meeting his enlarged pupils and darker eyes, she could tell Sukuna was indeed, jealous. He had nothing to be jealous of, she didn't plan on leaving his side anytime soon, but when Megumi took his turn in the game everyone seemed to play, y/n found it hard not to join them. "If you still want to I can tattoo you since I never got to" Megumi knew he was walking on thin ice when Sukuna gave him a look that made him wish he was dead, these two got in fights all the time as kids and ended up with bruises all over them, if Megumi didn't ease up Sukuna would gladly remind him of the past.
"Uh, yeah, if you've got a design" y/n said with a bit of hesitation, Sukuna was seathin next to her, his hand aggressively palming her leg just above the knee. The rest of the night Sukuna didn't really speak, only leaned in y/n's ear to tell her to slow down on the vodka, the rest of the guys continued to talk amongst themselves as if nothing had happened.
Exiting the bar, y/n was walking- trying to keep up with Sukuna who walked fast to his car after mumbling a goodnight to everyone. Y/n regretted playing along, she'd never seen Sukuna this quiet. " 'kuna, I'm sorry I really didn't want to upset you" she said her eyes on the ground, gently tagging at his jacket, how could he ever get annoyed with her when she looked like that. Sukuna wasted no time swiftly taking a hold of her, his lips ghosting her's "I'm not that upset, only a little" his voice barely above a whisper, lips grazed over hers briefly. Sukuna didn't know if that was his heart or hers thumping so hard "I'm tired of dancing around it" his breath was hot, warming up her face making y/n's face impossibly hotter. "Dancing around what?" She asked with visible hesitation. Sukuna dipped down once more, not so softly this take taking her soft lips into his own, gently tugging on her bottom lip with his teeth, letting one of his palms to rest on her cheek and the other taking a loose hold of the back of her neck. Her arms naturally found their way around his neck. "I told you I want you all to myself" . Did he mean what y/n was thinking? Did y/n want him to call her his? Sukuna almost crackled at her puzzled expression. Sukuna wasn't one to express things this openly, y/n was a bit dense in that department so he had to, at least he told himself that.
"I'm starting to get a bit disappointed, I clearly remember you saying 'i would say yes' with some romantic mumbling" Sukuna said, stroking her cheek ever so slightly.
Her breath was striped from her lungs, it wasn't from the kiss this time. So that did happen, y/n's mind was not playing tricks on her, Sukuna had in fact asked. Her eyes once again gleamed looking straight to his crimson irises. "So will you be mine?" He was more confident this time, they had grown closer, laughed more, shared more, Sukuna wanted this from the very first session they had together and the more time he spend around her, the more he couldn't bare the thought of anyone laying their fingers on her. Perhaps Nanami's little show got under his skin way more than he could ever admit, but there was no way he's letting anyone mark her. Y/n was his personal artwork, only the finest of pieces shall taint her skin. "Yes, airhead" y/n said, finally having enough air to form words, still in his arm with a smile on her face, indulging him on another deep kiss. "Let's seal the deal then."
Sukuna finally got to fulfill his need, y/n was back on his chair late in the afterhours of the night. He finished free handing another of his designs he showed her the night before, the outline of her sleeve, with the Cerberus foxes he created just for her.
Y/n was standing in front of his full body mirror, examining the very delicate lines of his marker. His arms snaked around her waist, Sukuna could watch her admire his art for eternity.
"You look so beautiful in it" he simply stated, looking at their reflection he could only note her beauty. Y/n looked beautiful, beautiful on her own, beautiful in his tattoos, beautiful in his arms.
"Your art is probably the most beautiful thing I've seen, but you too are a close competitor" her voice crystal clear, she managed to make a faint pink dust his cheeks. Sukuna wasn't one to take compliments, but from her? He could listen to her little praises all day. "Now, now get your ass back on this chair, you're not getting out of this"
"I didn't plan to anyway."
Bonus Domain shenanigans: Megumi had the pleasure of opening up the very next morning, what the hell happened here, he was about to call the cops when he saw Sukuna looking scruffy and sleep deprived, emerge from the back room, same pants and undone dress shirt as the night before. "What the hell" was all that he could say. Sukuna was thankful he let y/n out the back just so they could both avoid the embarrassment that was to come.
"What happened here?" Geto asked the moment he came through the door, although he already knew, Sukuna was predictable. "Nothing happened" Sukuna groaned trying to get them to shut up, he just needed some coffee. He disappeared in the back again.
"yeah sure, 'nothing happened' does he think we're stupid or something" Gojo said to Nanami, who already had a headache and he hasn't been in for 15 minutes yet. "Stop it already nothing happened" Sukuna said, coming out in the front to order a coffee. Gojo stared at him, walked closer to him and began laughing straight to his face, "fuck you're laughing at?" Sukuna was confused
"Next time, clean the lipstick off your face and neck." Nanami chuckled while Gojo continued to laugh at Sukuna's frustration.

6. Draco Malfoy - Rainy Nights, Warm Drinks
*Warning - smut*
“I want you.”
“Keep your eyes open, look at me, baby.”
Draco’s p.o.v
Loud chatter filled the jam-packed dining hall as students discussed their Christmas plans while their grubby hands reached for the feast laid out before each house. My gray-blue eyes stared blankly at the turkey and sides that touched my plate, my fork picking at whatever it could reach without me moving too much. I was counting down the moments that led up to Dumbledore clinking his fork against his glass that would dismiss everyone from Hogwarts, sending them home. Each single tick drove me crazy as I shook my leg, desperately pleading for time to move faster. At the end of this feast, everyone would be on the train heading to their families, while I would finally get to see the one person that I couldn’t get off my mind. Even now, the only thing I could think about was seeing her beautiful face and hearing her soothing, angelic voice, tuning out the voices of my friends.
“Draco? Earth to Draco!”
Pansy’s voice sliced right through my current thoughts involving my plans after school. Blinking a few times, I turned my head to see Pansy, Blaise, Crabbe, Goyle, Pike, and Nott staring at me. While Pansy stared at me with concern, the guys stared at me skeptically.
“What?” I muttered, dully.
“Pansy asked you what you were doing during the break,” Blaise informed, taking a sip from his cup.
“Yeah,” Pansy agreed, “I was thinking you and I could go on a date since we won’t be in school.”
A date? I had broken up with Pansy a year ago with the excuse that dating her had become boring, which it had, however, the real reason I left Pansy was because I had fallen in love with another girl. The whole thing had torn me up since day one because I hadn’t believed that I, the Slytherin Prince, could have fallen for a muggle, and yet I did. After a whole week of thinking about it and running everything carefully through my mind, I finally decided that I didn’t love Pansy and needed to end it with her before things got too serious.
“I won’t be returning home this Christmas,” I stated, “Dumbledore has asked me to stay and help tutor some second years in potions.”
“That’s ridiculous!” Pansy sneered, “it isn’t your job to teach those brats.”
“You’re dad’s okay with that?” Nott asked, a smirk playing on his lips.
“He wasn’t at first but once Dumbledore told him that I was the highest ranking student when it came to potions, he settled down and decided that I’d make a great leader for those snot nose brats,” I spoke, pride dripping from my lying tongue.
Of course, staying at Hogwarts wasn’t a complete lie, it was just not the full truth. For the first four days of break, I’d be staying with Maggie and her Grandmother then I’d come back to Hogwarts to help out with tutoring, and it’ll keep going like that until school starts again. It was an agreement that I had worked out with Dumbledore after he found out about Maggie, which if I’m being honest, I’m not even sure how he found out.
“And you’re okay with it?” Blaise asked, amused.
“Doesn’t matter to me,” I muttered.
I looked back down at my plate, feeling their eyes still watching me but not paying attention to it. Eventually, Dumbledore stood up from his seat and clinked his silverware against his wine glass. The chatter stopped immediately as everyone turned their impatient attention to the headmaster. Excitement was bursting through my chest, something I never thought I’d ever feel for a girl like Maggie. Dumbledore started by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holiday, then proceeded in telling everyone what to expect when they got back from break. We were expected to practice and prepare for our O.W.Ls that were coming up, which Umbridge decided to announce after interrupting Dumbledore. I may have pretended to like Umbridge and do as she said to appease my friends, but in all honesty, I hated her more than I hated anyone else.
After all of Dumbledore and Umbridge’s talking, the feast disappeared from our tables and it was time for everyone to head to the train. I saw my friends on the train. Pansy turned around.
“Well maybe I can stay here with you, so you aren’t alone,” she offered.
Annoyance broke out across my face, “I’ll be fine, Pansy. I’m not interested in spending time with you anyway, so you’ll just be alone.”
She started pouting while the other snickered behind her back. Scoffing, she stormed past everyone onto the train. I waved goodbye to the others and they followed after Pansy to the cart. Those leaving for the Christmas holiday were finally headed towards the platform and those who would be staying at Hogwarts for the vacation headed back towards the school.
As I was approaching the entrance, I saw Dumbledore standing there waiting for me, a smile on his face.
“Good evening, Mr. Malfoy,” he stated, “have you gotten your belongings together?”
“My bag is sitting in my room,” I replied.
“Once you collect it, go to Hagrid’s. He’ll be waiting for you there to help you get to the muggle world. Have a safe trip.”
With that, Dumbledore walked away allowing me to go fetch my belongings.
I grabbed my trunk out of my dorm room and carried it all the way towards Hagrid’s small hut just a little ways from the school. Hagrid was outside playing fetch with his large hound as I finished walking towards him. Immediately, he looked up after tossing the rather large stick across the field.
“Malfoy,” Hagrid said, “what brings you here?”
I raised an eyebrow. He was kidding, right?
The big oaf laughed heartily and patted my shoulder with his gorilla sized hand.
“I’m messing, is all,” he bellowed, “let’s get a move on it before anyone notices.”
Hagrid opened the door to his home and gestured me inside. Sitting on the table when he opened the door was a thick, black bag filled with dark, gray powder. Hagrid scooted around me and picked up the black bag before meeting my gaze. This was awkward for me, and I knew he could tell but fortunately he didn’t say anything to make it worse. Instead, he told me that the floo network would take us to Diagon Alley and we’d have to walk through another entrance into the muggle world. From there we’d take a wizard bus, which I found odd, straight to Maggie’s farmhouse just on the outskirts of London. However, I grew bored with being explained the plan and just wanted to get there already.
I went through the floo network first and waited for Hagrid patiently for a moment. Once he was standing by my side, he took my luggage and walked with me through Diagon Alley. We both walked through the less populated parts of Diagon Alley until the two of us reached a dead end. Hagrid tapped his umbrella against the wall in a pattern and they started pulling apart revealing the empty alley of the muggle world. The smell was different from the one back in the wizarding world. I could definitely smell freshly mown grass, but there was an oil smell mixed in too. As Hagrid and I walked past all of the people and shops that adorn the streets, I could smell pastries, coffees, and other foods that I recognized. I could feel the inside of my mouth water.
We waited on the sidewalk near a coffee shop for what seemed like forever before a bus came to a sudden stop in front of us. No one seemed to notice its incredible speed.
“Why hello there, Hagrid,” said a frail, stubbled face man wearing a purple suit.
“Hello to you too, Stan Shunpike,” Hagrid laughed, “starting work a bit early, aren’t you?”
Shunpike gave a crooked smile and nodded his head before gesturing us on. I went to grab my trunk when Shunpike grabbed it instead, pushing me inside. The smell was something to gag at. It smelled worse than anything I could imagine. Hagrid took a seat.
“Aren’t you going to have a seat, Malfoy?” He questioned.
“No, I’d rather stand,” I muttered, disgust lacing my voice.
“Where to?” Shunpike asked.
Hagrid gave the address and Shunpike looked at us confused.
“That’s a muggle household.”
“Not completely,” Hagrid said, “Loral Belle is the homeowner, Dumbledore’s friend.”
A slow nod bounced off his thin shoulders and sat down.
“Ernie, you know where to go.”
As soon as the knight bus took off, the speed pushed me back. Not even my grip was strong enough to keep me in place and I ended stumbling backwards until Hagrid’s large hand grabbed ahold of me. I pretty much clung to Hagrid’s large arm as we whirlwind through the busy streets of London. Two trucks stood in the way of the bus and I thought we’d slow down. However, we didn’t. Instead, the bus warfed itself so that it was thinner and we slid right through the small crack separating the two muggle vehicles. It wasn’t long before we reached the dirt road that led to Maggie’s farmhouse. Hagrid paid Shunpike and told him that there was extra in it for him if he waited for him and kept this visit a secret. Shunpike agreed with a large smile on his face.
Hagrid grabbed my trunk and led the way to Maggie’s. He tried to make small talk with me as we hiked down the dirt road, but neither one of us knew what to say to each other.
“How did you meet her?” He finally asked, catching my attention.
“My father had some work to do with an old, retired friend,” I said, all of the memories flooding back to my mind, “I saw her sitting by the fountain reading a book when a group of guys started harassing her. I watched her try to get away from them, failing miserably, so I stepped in despite her being a muggle. A gentleman never lets a woman get pushed around. She already knew I was a wizard when I helped her, she said that her Grandmother had taught her to tell the difference from a young age. The more I talked to her, the more I liked being around her.”
A goofy smile appeared on his face, “she sounds like an amazing young woman.”
“She is.”
Sitting on the porch when we got there was Grandma Loral rocking back and forth while a red scarf was being knitted next to her in the air. When she saw us, a smile appeared on her face and she climbed to her feet, approaching us at the edge of her porch.
“Hagrid,” she greeted, “it’s been years.”
“Nice to see you too, Loral,” Hagrid said, “I wish I could stay long, but I’m only here to drop off Mr. Malfoy. I’ll see you in four day.”
I looked up at Hagrid, “thank you, Hagrid.”
If I didn’t know any better, which I didn’t, I could have sworn I saw tears in Hagrid’s eyes. He tried to push it away and claimed that dirt had gotten in his eye, but I knew the truth. No one was use to me being so nice, and seeing me do so meant to them that I was finally deciding things on my own and not because my father wanted them. Just like my decision to continue seeing a muggle. Grandma Loral and I waved goodbye to Hagrid, once he was gone, Grandma Loral sat back in her seat.
“Maggie’s in the garden out back,” she said smiling, “thank you for coming, Draco. I know that the decision couldn’t have been easy.”
“Actually,” I admitted, rubbing the back of my neck, “it was the easiest choice I’ve ever had to make in my life.”
Grandma Loral told me to head back there and she’d take care of my trunk. Nodding, I walked down the steps and headed down the cobblestone path to find Maggie sitting underneath a tree reading a book. Dozens of flowers of all shapes and colors surrounded her and blew in the breeze. Her brown, curled locks of hair brushed delicately against her freckled face. She was as beautiful as the day I first saw her. I walked over to her and smiled at how deeply invested she was in her novel.
“Mind if I sit?” I asked.
Her body jerked and her head whipped around to see me standing there with a smirk on my face. A large grin stretched against her face from ear to ear before nodding eagerly. As soon as my body was positioned next to her, she threw her arms around me and squeezed tightly.
“I’m so happy to see you,” she said, releasing me from her tight grip.
“I’m happy to see you too, Maggie,” I said, “how have you been?”
“I’ve been fine. Things have been a little difficult lately.”
When I asked her why, a sad expression came to her face. I thought maybe she was being bullied more, but as she explained, I realized that it wasn’t that. Grandma Loral was getting sick and it was getting worse and worse. Maggie was worried that she’d lose her grandmother and have no one once she’s gone. I touched her hand and told her it was going to be okay. She looked up at me.
“How have you been?” She asked, her smile trying to distract me from her growing tears.
I told her about Umbridge and my family, she never looked away from me and held on to my hand the way I held on to her’s when she told me about her Grandma. It seemed we were both going through some stuff right now and all we wanted was for someone to talk and relate to.
The remainder of the day moved quicker than I had hoped. Maggie was now in the kitchen cooking up some soup for dinner while I set up the dining table. From the kitchen, the two of us could hear Grandma Loral coughing up a storm. Maggie grabbed a glass, filled it with water, and brought it to her grandma before returning to finish dinner.
After supper, Maggie helped her grandma to bed before joining me in the living room with two glasses of hoto cocoa. Rain started to drum against the roof of the farmhouse, lightning slashing against the darkened sky and thunder rolling across the heavy clouds. With each passing second, the rain got harder and louder. I sipped on my warm beverage and looked at Maggie. She had whipped cream sitting above her lip and I laughed causing her to look at me.
“What?” She asked, an innocent smile dancing on her face.
“You’ve got some whipped cream on your lip,” I chuckled, leaning forward and wiping it away with my thumb.
A small red tint appeared on her face as she tried to avoid eye contact with me. I could tell she was embarrassed and I found it to be more attractive than ever. I scooted closer to her and she looked at me.
“Draco, is everything okay?” She asked.
“I love you,” I blurted out.
Her bright green orbs widened in shock and I started to regret saying anything to her. I looked away from her, but she grabbed my shoulder, pulling it to face her.
“I love you too,” she hummed.
Before I could stop myself, I smashed our lips together, saying a silent prayer that neither of us were holding that hot beverage. The kiss deepened and I pulled her into my lap, gripping her waist tightly to keep her in place. When we pulled away, she was panting from the lack of air, her lips red and slightly swollen from the heated kiss. I leaned down and started nibbling on her neck, earning a small whimper from her.
“D-Draco,” she gasped.
I unattached my lips from her warm flesh and peppered her jaw with kisses before reaching her ear.
“I want you, Maggie.”
Her body shivered at my words and I smirked. Maggie was gripping onto my blazer tightly.
“But I-”
“Shh,” I cooed, “I’ll be gentle.”
I waited for her to give me the signal to continue. When her head nodded, I laid her down on the cushioned couch and began kissing her again. I traced my tongue against her bottom lip and tasted the cherry lip gloss she had coated her plump lips with after dinner. My fingers squeezed her thigh and she gasped, giving me full entrance to the inside of her mouth. I slipped my tongue into her warm, wet mouth and our tongues fought over dominance, however, Maggie’s submissive side kicked in and she let me take control easily. Quiet moans spilled from her muffled mouth. When I pulled away from her, a small string of saliva pulled from both of our lips. A rosy tint illuminated off her face and her green eyes were hazy, her floral shirt was pulled up, revealing her black, laced bra.
“Fuck,” I hissed, my pants growing tighter at the sight of her coming undone from my touch.
Pulling myself up, I removed my blazer and tie before unbuttoning my white, dress-up shirt. Her glistening eyes watched my every move, widening at the sight of my bare chest. She started nibbling on her bottom lip as I pulled at the hem of her shirt.
“Let's get this off,” I muttered, my voice husky and dripping with arousal.
Maggie didn’t argue, she just pulled her shirt above her head revealing more of herself to me. I groaned as I leaned down and started sucking on her exposed skin, leaving wet kisses against her porcelain skin. Her heartbeat was pounding against her chest, her skin was heating up, and her fingers gripped the couch cushion. I reached behind her and unclipped her bra clasp. Immediately, her hands moved to cover herself up. I lifted her chin.
“Don’t hide yourself, baby girl,” I whispered, “let me see you, please.”
“Okay,” she whispered.
She allowed me to remove her bra from her small body and I tossed it to the side with the rest of our clothes that littered the living room floor. I pressed my lips against hers once again, my left hand gripped her left breast and I almost melted at the feeling of her perfectly soft, fleshy breast. Her pink, peachy nipples hardened from both the cold air and my calloused hands pinching at them. Her moans were becoming louder, but not too loud since her grandmother was sleeping.
“Draco, please,” she moaned, her hips moving against my own.
“What is it?” I moaned back, “what do you need, baby girl? Tell me.”
“I-I need you. Please.”
Those words turned me on even more. I unbuttoned her shorts and pulled them off, her black matching panties hugged her hips. I hooked my fingers to her lacy panties, pulling them down and revealing her perfect pink cunt. My pants were becoming more and more uncomfortable by the second, so I quickly removed them from my body, discarding them to the floor with the rest of the pile. I started kissing her breast, sucking on her nipples, and tracing open mouth kisses against her body until I reached her lower area. The sweet aroma coming from her was intoxicating and I felt drunk from the scent alone.
I traced my tongue against her already soaking slit causing her to shiver and moan. My tastebuds were coated with her delicious nectar and I couldn’t help but dive in quickly. Her small fingers tangled themselves into my gelled hair, messing up every strand. A list of moans echoed off the walls as I flicked my tongue hungrily over her clit. Maggie tried to close her legs, but I pinned them back down. My gray-blue eyes flickered up, meeting her lustful orbs. She was covering her mouth because she was becoming too loud. Careful not to hurt her, I slipped a single finger between her folds and she flinched. I stopped.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered, “do you want me to stop?”
“N-no, it’s okay,” she panted, “i-it’s all just a n-new experience.”
Nodding, I went back to lapping up her flowing juices and started entering my finger again. This time it slipped in with ease. A few seconds passed and I added another finger, moving them slowly in and out of her.
“D-Draco, faster.”
I didn’t waste time and started moving my fingers faster and faster into her sex. Her back arched off the couch, I could feel her clenching around my fingers and I could tell she was getting closer and closer to her release. I started sucking on her swollen clit and she yelped out before cumming all over my fingers. I removed them from her then placed them in my mouth, sucking every last drop off of them. Groaning against my fingers, I pulled them out with a pop.
“Delicious,” I hummed, watching her chest move rapidly as she caught her breath, “have a taste.”
I captured her lips with mine and rummaged my tongue around her warm mouth. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head making me smile at how undone she looked for me. I pulled away.
“Doesn’t that taste amazing, sweetheart?” I whispered in her ear.
All she could do was nod her head. Sweat was beaded against her forehead and her hair was starting to cling to her face, it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.
“Ready?” I asked, “and use your words for me.”
“I-I am,” she muttered, “I-I’m ready.”
Climbing on top of her, I aligned my hardened member with her entrance before pushing it, peppering kisses against her face as she cried out in pain. Once I was finally nestled inside of her aching cunt, I stayed there to let her adjust to my size. A minute passed by when she gave me the okay to move, then I started moving my hips at a slow pace. Every time I pulled out and pushed back in, I felt myself get squeezed around.
“God damnit!” I groaned quietly, “so fucking tight. It feels amazing, Maggie.”
“D-Draco, you’re s-so…” she couldn’t even finish her sentence.
I started moving faster and harder with each stroke and both of our moans filled the room along with the sound of our sweaty skin slapping against each other. Despite the noise coming from us, we remained quiet enough so we didn’t wake up Grandma Loral.
Maggie squeezed her eyes shut as I started snapping my hips harder to meet hers. I grabbed her chin with my right hand and pulled her head to meet mine, my lips feathering over her. Her warm breath fanning over my chapped, slightly parted lips.
“Keep your eyes open. Look at me, baby,” I said strictly.
Maggie’s eyes opened and our eyes stared at one another as I drilled into her repeatedly. Her nails raked into my back causing me to growl at the stinging pain. I lifted one of her legs over my shoulder for a better position, my cock now going deeper into her sweet sex.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” I moaned, resting my forehead against her, never tearing my eyes away from hers.
“Oh my God,” she said.
“Feel good, huh sweetheart,” I praised, “you love being fucked like this.”
I didn’t want to take it too far, afraid that me being rough or even degrading her would cause her to push me away. She was sensitive. But Maggie seemed to love my words and nodded her head furiously as she started meeting my thrust.
“Yeah you do, fucking slut.”
Her moans were like music to my ears and I could feel her tightening around my throbbing cock. I wrapped my hand around her throat, not too tightly, her free hand gripping my arm as I practically slammed into her with inhuman speed. I didn’t know what came over me, but everything felt intoxicating and I felt energy rushing through me.
“I-I’m going to cum,” she whimpered.
“Then do it,” I growled against her lips, “cum.”
Her body started shaking as pure pleasure rushed over her small form. I watched her emerald eyes roll to the back of her head as I continued to slam into her, riding out her high. Our moans got louder, and we didn’t care that we were being loud. If we got caught, we got caught. All that mattered to me was watching her, being with her, loving her.
My thrust started getting sloppy as I felt myself coming to my end. I removed my hand from her throat, letting her lungs collect the well needed air, and buried my head into her sweaty neck. With a few final, strong thrust, I came inside her dripping cunt and moaned in her ear, or more like growled with pleasure. Her body shivered at the sound as she knotted her fingers in my hair. My body collapsed onto her, our chest heaving up and down as we tried to settle down. Once our breathing returned to normal, I pulled myself out of Maggie and laid next to her. I looked at her.
“Sorry,” I whispered, as I tiredly chuckled, “I didn’t mean to finish inside you.”
She giggled and shook her head, “it’s okay. I’m on birth control, so it’ll be fine.”
I smiled at her and leaned down to pick up my dress-up shirt. It was cool to the touch and as I cleaned up the mess on Maggie, she closed her eyes enjoying the welcoming, cold cloth. After I cleaned the both of us up with my shirt, I laid back down. Lightning flashed against the sky once again as a loud rumble of thunder hit the clouds. Maggie sat up and cracked the window open, the cool breeze washing over our sweaty bodies. I pulled her into my arms and nuzzled against her.
“I love you, Maggie,” I whispered.
“I love you too, Draco,” she said, “now and forever.”
Forever, huh?
A smile appeared on my face as I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep next to the one girl I would sacrifice everything for. All of the thoughts that once invaded my mind, the unsureness of being with a muggle, how my father would act once he found out, all of it, disappeared. The only thought left was how I would protect her from Voldemort, and if she would still be by my side when she found out I was destined to be a death eater. But all of that could wait. I wanted nothing more than to enjoy the next four days with her.
I’ve never felt so relaxed before.
Forever sounds nice.

I need a break
Shangqi x Reader (Platonic)
A/N: I feel like I’m loosing steam towards the end of my placement and wow I have never needed a break this badly before. Perhaps a short Shangqi x Reader imagine where they are both University students. Seriously at this rate I’ll just be solely a Shangqi writer HAHAHA. Doing this on my phone because I don’t want to open my work computer. Let’s see where this impromptu idea takes me to. Hope you enjoy it and as always like and comment if you wish!
Genre: PG-13
Warnings: None really, just friends supporting each other! I guess there’s an inaccurate timeline if you look at the MCU but hey this is an imagine plus if you look at some of the wiki pages, Shangqi is actually born in 1998/1999. So appreciate if you’re kind enough to go with the flow to read this comfort fic!
‘Y/N!’ Shangqi rushes to catch up with you after class. You made an effort to conceal your tiredness but he saw it right through. ‘Gosh…you alright?’
You think to yourself. Were you really alright? The answer was pretty obvious. You were ten weeks into your placement and your emotions were a jumbled up mess. Having to deal with work responsibilities was one problem, school assignments were another issue all together. At this point, you felt like you were just getting through each week for the sake of it.
At first, you believed that what you were going through was simply a transition to becoming an adult. You thought that naturally, you would be able to persevere through the stressful periods by yourself. But of course, it has been hard.
You were a social work intern at a neighborhood youth centre, thirty minutes away if you took the train and bus. The work was fulfilling in it’s own ways, but recently there were self-doubts filling your brain, if you were really cut out for the job in the future. If you weren’t, what else could you do?
As you sat with Shangqi in the school’s student-ran cafe, you found yourself pouring out the exact same concerns to him. Credit to him, Shangqi never interrupted your monologue, he just simply listened. That’s what best friends were for. That’s what you did for him to when he ran into issues with his family.
Even then, he couldn’t deny that hearing you doubt yourself broke his heart. He had known you since high school. You mostly kept to yourself and one or two close friends. Despite joining the school’s athletic team where you were one of the main athletes, you preferred to stay in the shadows unlike some of your teammates. That didn’t stop you from going out of your way to help other students in need; like helping the girl who was in an arm cast to copy the social studies notes, even if it meant you had to do it twice. Or maybe just talking to a friend who was stressed out about their results.
Basically, you had studied your ass off to get a secured spot at this university who were only one of the few that offered the degree. He remembers you telling him the moment you got your offer, ‘I’m finally good at something. I don’t have to worry anymore!’
Shangqi wasn’t stupid. The pandemic had done some crazy things. And by crazy, it affected the self-esteem that you had been working so hard on by participating in various projects and events, with you being in charge of a drama production that was promoting on mental health. That was a big deal considering that you were a major introvert.
Online engagement was never easy. In fact he has heard some of your struggles that you’ve shared with him regarding this and it only makes him admire you even more. For someone who preferred to keep to themselves, stepping out of one’s comfort zone, to take on a role that wasn’t just simply about helping people - that took guts.
‘I’m sorry I’m just loading you with all this. I just feel…’ You trailed off, suddenly becoming emotional again. Again, Shangqi does not pry. ‘That I can’t do anything right.’ You emphasize that you had ended the statement for you were unsure that you could keep your cool if you had tried to continue on.
‘If I hear you saying sorry another time,’ he chides, ‘you’re paying for our meal later.’ Your lips curved upwards slightly before returning to its somber position. Shangqi decides that a meal won’t cut it. He needs to deploy ‘Operation Y/N’. Standing up with your buzzer to collect the food, Shangqi whips out his phone. There will be a few changes for today.
Food was definitely a cure in this situation, but it was only a part of the solution. After inhaling your ramen at light speed, Shangqi tells you that today will be a different Friday. ‘And you can’t complain! It’ll be a weekend tmr,’ he tells you. So why not? You figured that even if you went back home early, your head wouldn’t be in the right place to complete the essay for your English module.
‘Hold up! The VR studio that Katy was talking about?’ You look at the tickets inside the taxi that was taking you and Shangqi to the location. ‘How did you even, it was so hard to get these tickets!’ From the time Shangqi met you outside the classroom, he had yet to see you so ecstatic. Until now.
‘Well,’ Shangqi gives his best shrug. ‘I called in a favor from a friend. Said that it was for emergency purposes.’ He raised his fingers to make connotations in the air much to your amusement.
‘Wow… just how much do I not know about you Mr Popular?’ You teased. Shangqi decides to leave the fact on him having to persuade the Wakandan Princess in giving him free tickets.
‘Please! I swear whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it! It’s for Y/N!’
‘Ey well why didn’t you say so? If it’s for that nice friend, of course!’ Shuri leaves the entrance of the compound, an exasperated Shangqi trailing behind.
Yeah, the VR studio that Katy told them about was also funded by King T’Challa himself. With stunning life like visuals thanks to Wakandan technology, the VR studio was located in a middle class neighborhood. T’Challa believed that no matter where kids came from, they should have the right to enjoy and to explore the world. For now, he wasn’t ready to share that he was on the way on becoming a full-fledged Avenger yet - you just had too much on your plate. He’ll just have to settle with this white lie.
‘Is Katy coming?’ You were on the verge of vibrating off your seat. ‘She would love this place!’ Even when you were struggling, Y/N still manages to think about other people. Today, Y/N will put her needs first.
As if to answer your previous question, you can see an equally excited Katy waiting for the two of you at the roundabout. ‘HEL-LO EVERYONE! LET’S GET OUR FRIDAY STARTED IN PROPER SHALL WE?’ Her loud voice had attracted stares, some very displeased looks too but at this point in time, you didn’t give a damn. Katy was right, it was time to enjoy!
You wished that you could slow down time, or even replay it continuously when you needed cheering up because the only thing you felt was pure happiness - euphoria even. Your stomach was in knots for laughing hysterically together with Katy when Shangqi jumped in shock from a surprise scare from a zombie. ‘I’m keeping that for leverage,’ she tells you, quietly slipping her phone into her fanny pack.
The Wakandans had really outdone themselves this time. Your favorite VR was the paradise VR. Slipping the headgear, you say goodbye to the smiles of Katy and Shangqi, whisking away to a beach that oddly reminded you of your dream destination - Hawaii. From where you were standing, you were surrounded by green and majestic islands. Despite their sheer size, you weren’t intimidated. In fact, you were healing.
Your mind was no longer in the room of the VR studio. How could it when the sun kissed your skin, giving you the much needed energy that you were lacking for so long? In the room, the two sees you kick your shoes to the side, going barefoot. It may have seem strange, but with the monitor beside you, your actions were perfectly logical.
As a kid, you used to despise the prickly feeling of sand in between your toes. But now, you grew to love the sensation that each grain of sand had on your skin. It made you feel grounded, that everything was going to be ok. You raise your virtual hand to touch your face - were you crying?
‘She must have been really stressed huh?’ Katy whispers to Shangqi who nods in return. How he hated the fact that you were giving so much to your work but still felt underappreciated. Forget the Avengers with superhuman abilities, you were the true MVP. The VR ends and you remove your headgear. ‘I’m ok,’ you automatically reassure them despite the dry tears left on both cheeks. You step down the platform slowly, trying to regain sense of the real world.
What you didn’t expect was the two embracing you in a hug, squishing you in between them. Maybe that had set off the waterworks. For someone like Katy, she had sage advice.
‘Life can be pretty shitty right? But I’m so proud of you fighting it Y/N. Just remember that it’s ok to be weak. I mean, I’ve seen worse from Shangqi,’ she jabs her finger towards his direction, earning a glare from him. That’s Katy, always trying to add a bit of humor to this grey world. Calming down, you let go of the both of them. ‘Thanks guys, for everything.’
‘Hey,’ Shangqi responds, slinging his arm over your shoulder. ‘We’re friends, so we don’t leave each other behind.’ Phone beeping, he retrieves it to check the message. ‘And look at that, nice timing. Who wants Korean BBQ?’
Trailing behind them, you get an amusing view of Shangqi bickering with Katy on how many Soju bottles she’s allowed to order later. As San Francisco welcomed the night, you were just thankful that you had the two of them to walk through this crazy maze called life.
‘Last one to the shop is paying!’
‘Oh you’re on Mister!’
A/N: I really just think that this was also an imagine for me to cope too. So I can only hope to finish my placement/assignments/exams well! To anyone who does studies and work simultaneously, I fucking respect you (allow me to use expletives for now, these people deserve the respect). If you’re going through a stressful time, I hope this brings the slightest comfort for you and remember… YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Again, thank you for reading!

Baby, Please Come Home // A Very Harry Potter Christmas (D.M.)
Summary: For as long as you have loved Draco Malfoy, you had celebrated Christmas with him. This year, however, things could be different.
A/N: Here is my fic for A Very Harry Potter Christmas orchestrated by @whack-ed and @jamilelucato! My prompt is day five: digging out christmas ornaments. I hope you all like!
Warnings: fluff, christmas decorations, missing someone, lots of feelings
Word count: 2k (I’m sorry it isn't longer!)
There was one time of year that you simply adored. From the moment the hands of the clock ticked over to the first of December, childish excitement and glee filled you.
It was the build-up combined with the shopping and innocent secrets to do with gifts that had your stomach in a whirl and your heart pounding. Each year you tried to outdo yourself; searching for the one gift that would bring out the shine in Draco’s smile, though he liked to remind you that you were indeed the cause of such a shine.
This year felt different, however. It wasn’t that you weren’t excited, and it wasn’t that you weren’t prepared. It was the fact that there was worry brewing deep within you that Draco would not be able to make it home in time for Christmas.
Sending him away had been hard on you both, but it had to be done. An opportunity such as the one he had been offered was not something to be missed. Invited back to the school of witchcraft and wizardry that had educated him so thoroughly, Draco had been offered the chance to lecture some of the advance students in the art of healing.
The letter offering him the job arrived on the doorstep in the last week of August. Thinking back to it, you remember the trembling of his hands as he read over McGonagall’s words and what she was proposing. There hadn’t been any other answer than yes. You had seen it in his eyes when he handed you the letter; promising not to go, but to stay with you.
A shake of your head stopped his rambling; kept him frozen to the spot as you called him a fool for thinking he would turn this opportunity down. Draco had argued; he didn’t want to leave you for so long, knowing he would miss you too much. Whilst it flattered and sent your heart racing in your chest, you urged him to accept, telling him how good this would be for him.
Eventually, he relented. Draco wrote back to McGonagall, accepting the job offer and tell her he would see her on the first day of term.
Three months on and it was hard. It had been hard to wave him away; bag in hand, filled with his belongings. Draco had left you with a long, hard kiss, promising to be back in time for Christmas.
December brought with it colder days and longer nights. It brought with it frozen breath and warm scarves. To you, December was the month of traditions.
The first weekend in December was time dedicated to decorating the house you have shared with Draco for the last two years. Moving in together once spotting the perfect cottage for you to make your first home.
The attic is warm and musty when you open the door, switching on the small light. Wiping a hand across your forehead, it takes no time at all to spy the boxes. They’re piled up to the left of the door, strings of red and gold tinsel peeking out of the top as if they were too excited for the holiday season to descend and chose to start the decorating without you.
As you place the final box in the living room, your phone rings. The smile that crosses your face when you see Draco’s name flash on the screen is large and filled with love.
“Love,” You greet.
“Darling,” He replies, “How are you?”
“I’m okay,” You comment, opening the closest box to you. “How are you? How is Hogwarts?”
“Hogwarts is fine. It’s just not the same without you.”
You smile though he cannot see you. It had been at Hogwarts that your friendship first developed which then grew into a relationship in your Fifth Year when Draco quietly confessed his feelings for you. He had wanted you to know the truth, he said, in case things start to take a turn for the worse.
Things did take a turn for the worst; a war broke out, but you persisted. You kept your hold of Draco, standing by his side through it all. Even now, years later, Draco reminded you that he would never be able to pay you back for the kindness you showed him through those years.
You laugh, memories of the enchanting castle and searing kisses behind tapestries taking over your mind, “Do you remember-”
“That night in the Room of Requirement?” Draco finishes: laughter lightening his voice as he remembers the very same night.
You snort, “I think we missed all our morning classes the day after.”
“We did,” Draco confirms; his voice warm, “But I would do it all again.”
Heat fills your face and you’re suddenly hit with how much you miss him. It came and went in waves; each one stronger than the last but as you look at the numerous boxes labelled ‘Christmas decorations’ in Draco’s elegant scrawl, you cannot help but miss him fiercely.
If he were here right now, music would be playing, and smiles would be bright. Draco’s area of expertise was always the tree; it was his job to place the tree topper on at the end. The tree would be glowing with its lights, the tinsel would be shimmering away, but the tree was not complete until Draco had placed the golden tree topper on.
A deep ache fills you at the awful realisation that it may have to be you to finish the tree this year.
Quietly, you mumble into the phone, “I miss you.”
“I miss you too. So much. I’ll try to be home as fast as I can,” Draco whispers; his voice filled with promise.
“I know you will,” You murmur, willing yourself not to cry on the phone to him.
“How is the decorating going?” Draco asks, desperate to change the subject and not linger on uncertainties.
You laugh mirthlessly, glancing around the bare living room filled with boxes, “I haven’t started.”
“What?” Draco exclaims, shock resounding through his tone, “You’re usually done by now and I’m trying to persuade you otherwise.”
You shrug your shoulders even though Draco can’t see you. “I don’t know,” You state, trailing off before picking your train of thought back up, “It just didn’t feel the same without you.”
Draco is silent for a minute. No sound comes from his end of the phone until you hear him whisper, “Darling…”
“I know, I know,” You repeat, “You’ll try to be home as fast as you can but love, please come home.”
Draco hangs up, whispering an ‘I love you’ before coming off the phone. Pulling the device away from your ear, you stare down at your wallpaper. An image of you and Draco from last Christmas – his arm hooked around your waist with his body angled towards you. Hermione had snapped the photo without either of your noticing. The smile on your face the result of whatever draco happened to be whispering in your ear.
Looking around the too-large living room, you found it hard to remember a single Christmas without Draco. The boxes of Christmas decorations all called to you; all wanting to be put up and shown to the world.
Digging through the first box, you feel tears spring to your eyes as you hold the first ornament daintily in both hands. A grand glass bauble given to you by Draco; inside holds a small winter scene that never fails to remind you of a winter holiday shared some years ago. Draco bought it on a whim; being reminded of the very same holiday. He had presented it to you, smiling through the kiss you had given him before placing the bauble on the forever green tree.
Sighing, you fold your arms, protecting yourself from the dread wanting to crush you. He had to come home for Christmas; he simply had to.
-----------
The day continues to be slow; small decorations placed on the mantle piece and bookshelves. It is just about as much as you can handle without Draco by your side.
As night descends, you climb the stairs, filled with the increasing hope that Draco would be home soon to finish adorning your home with Christmas cheer.
Settling your head on your pillow, you automatically reach out to the other side of the bed, already beginning to dream of a morning when you wake to find him lying beside you.
A crash and a bang from down below has you leaping out of bed and reaching for your wand. Your heart pounds in your chest as you hold your wand to your chest, ready to hex whoever it may be in your home. In your head, you go through possible reasons for anyone to enter your home. The war had been over for years; Draco had repented – there had been no sense of danger for a long time.
Adrenaline courses through your veins as you tiptoe downstairs. Pausing at the door to the living room, you spy a figure rifling through the boxes of decorations still left to put up. The figure is tall and lithe, yet it is too dark to see any defining features.
You let out a screech as you force your way into the room, wand at the ready.
“Darling! It’s me!” The voice shouts, hands coming up to rest above their head.
“Draco!” You shout, “What are you doing here?”
“I heard the sadness in your voice, and I knew I had to come home to you.”
“And give me a heart attack?”
Draco smiles bashfully, “That part was accident, I promise.”
“I’d hope so.”
“Darling?” Draco calls.
“Yes?”
“Will you put your wand down now? There’s no threat.”
“Oh,” you gasp, realising you still had the wand pointed at the love of your life. You drop your wand, placing it gently on the chest of drawers before turning back to face the man who had stolen your heart and had yet to give to back.
It is then that you realise who exactly stands before you with a boyish grin and mischief bright in his grey eyes. You launch yourself into his arms; Draco catching you in his own. He laughs, the sound loud in your ear. His strong arms are tight around your waist as he buried his face in your neck, inhaling deeply, feeling evermore at home in your arms.
“You’re home,” You whisper, voice full of awe.
“I’m home,” He confirms, lips brushing over the soft skin of your neck making you shiver.
Stepping away from him, you take your first look at the newly decorated living room. A dark green wreath sits on the living room door, centred perfectly. Next, your eyes spy the garland wrapping around the mantle piece, warm lights shining from it as they reflect from the metallic snowmen standing behind it.
It’s like a winter wonderland.
Draco keeps a tight hold on you, his arm wrapped around your waist. You spin his arms, your face a picture of wonderment, “Draco, did you do all this?”
Draco leans down, pressing a long awaited kiss to your cheek before replying. “I started it without you, but I think I need your help for the rest.”
“Why?”
“You sounded so sad on the phone. I know how much you love traditions and decorating the house is one of ours. I asked McGonagall to leave early, and she said yes.”
“She said yes?”
Draco nods, smiling, “She said yes, so I walked to Hogsmeade and apparated home… to you.”
“I’m glad you’re home,” You whisper, voice truthful.
“I’m glad I’m home too.”
You smile, leaning into his warm body. Turning your face to him, you smile widely before pulling him in for a long kiss. Breaking away, you ask, “What else is there left to do?”
He laughs, ducking down for one more kiss before answering, “Just the tree. Do you think you’re up for it?”
Leaving the warmth of his arms, you wander over to the box of decorations you had brought downstairs only yesterday. Reaching for a golden bauble, you hold it out to Draco, “More than up for it.”

A Bump in the Road || D.M
summary: you and draco get into a fight after he becomes distant
pairing: draco x reader
warning: angst, draco being an ass, fluff
word count: 1.6k
a/n: I just came back from a small vacation and thought of this + wrote it on the plane lol so srry if it’s not the best
you felt many emotions as you entered the hogwarts grounds, the school year starting and summer coming to an end. you felt happy and excited due to the fact that you would finally be able to see your boyfriend, draco, after what seemed like forever.
your parents decided to bring you on a trip to europe this summer, giving you no time to spend with him.
spotting him from afar, you ran up behind him, bringing your hands to his eyes. "guess who?" you sang song, smiling to yourself. "hmm, crabbe?" your hands left his face as he turned around, greeting you with the smile that could make you melt within seconds.
he cupped your face, lips softly attaching to yours. you could stay like this forever, however he pulled away before turning sideways towards a brunette girl who stood by his side.
"y/n, this is astoria greengrass, daphne's sister. we spent a lot of time with each other this summer since our parents decided to do business together."
you grew confused, draco didn't mention her or their parents' business deal in his letters to you. nonetheless, you brought your hand forward to the greet brunette.
"it's so nice to meet you, daphne talks about you a lot."
her hand met with yours, shaking it politely. "I'm sure they aren't good things then," she joked, causing draco to chuckle as you laughed.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
a few weeks later into the school year, you were sitting at a table in the library waiting for draco as you had planned to meet up with each other after dinner.
he was supposed to be here ten minutes ago. those ten minutes turned into fifteen, and those fifteen slowly turned into thirty. you weren't mad at him, it's just very unlikely for draco to be late.
you decided to wait a few more minutes for him, your eyes feeling droopy as you stared at the clock ahead of you.
you were startled as you were suddenly shaken awake by madam pince, informing you that the library had just closed. after apologizing endlessly, you sluggishly walked back to the common room.
you were confused as to why draco failed to show up, however you convinced yourself that he accidentally fell asleep after having an exhausting day. entering the common room, the laughter of a boy and girl filled your ears, and you immediately recognized the boy's.
as you walked further in, you saw draco and astoria laughing together on the couch in front of the fireplace, papers scattered everywhere. he didn't notice you at first, but when he did, his smile fell upon seeing your weary state, suddenly reminded of your plans.
"merlin, I'm sorry. I've been helping astoria study for her potions test tomorrow and I guess I lost track of time," he hurriedly rushed over to you.
you weren't going to lie, you were hurt. maybe even jealous? the fact that draco had kept you waiting long enough for you to fall asleep until curfew due to astoria made you the littlest bit of sad, however you pushed the feeling away.
"it's okay, I understand. I'm feeling tired, I'm gonna head up and get ready for bed," you gave him a small smile, waving to astoria as you turned to the direction of your dorm. "do you want me to come with you?" draco offered as he reached out for your arm.
you sighed as you glanced around at the messy area in front of you. "no it's fine, I'll just see you tomorrow," you mumbled the last bit as draco planted a kiss onto your forehead, a frown appearing on your face. "and astoria? if draco's helping you study, you're definitely going to ace that test," you teased as you finally turned around and headed for your dorm.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
you expected this to be a one time thing, but was left disappointed as draco started to spend more time with her and less with you.
a few weeks ago you had to help mcgonagall clean up a mess made by other students after school hours as you were a prefect, causing you to be late to meet with draco after his quidditch practice.
finally arriving to the quidditch pitch, you saw that he was already conversing with astoria. after apologizing for being late, he assured you it was okay because he had "astoria to keep him company." if anything, it only made you feel worse.
and just a few days ago, he didn't meet up with you after class to walk you to lunch, so you headed to the great hall without him, hunger taking over your body. upon entering, you recognized the blonde boy and saw that he had already been seated, diving into his meal.
beside him, in your spot, sat the darn brunette girl. you gulped as you turned around, heading to your next class, not wanting to be around the both of them.
for every instance this happened, you couldn't help but get more frustrated and jealous as you started to see him less.
you lost it one saturday morning when you went to meet up with draco for your weekly hogsmeade trip. you were looking forward to this day as you and draco always spent saturdays hanging out with each other to catch up and relax after a stressful week.
your smile dropped when you saw astoria by his side in the common room. when you were told that draco had invited her to hang out with the two of you, you hadn’t said anything and dragged draco to your dorm.
“what’s wrong darling?” he inquired, worried about you as you stood with your arms crossed.
“I’ve barely seen you recently because you’re always hanging out with her, and the one time I finally get to see you, she’s there!” you didn’t mean to raise your voice, however your anger has been pent up for way too long.
“you’re over exaggerating,” draco stated, causing you to scoff.
“It just makes me sad sometimes, I’m starting to think you enjoy her company more than mine,” your voice broke and so did your heart as you thought about it, hoping it wasn’t true.
“you know, maybe I do enjoy her company more than yours. at least she’s not as annoying or dramatic as you.” you felt your heart drop upon hearing his words, tears threatening to fall out.
you opened your mouth to retaliate when you closed it, not wanting to dig an even deeper hole. “y-you’re right, I’m sorry.” your words contradicted your thoughts as you knew he was not at all right. you turned around, starting to play with the items displayed on top of your desk in attempt to distract yourself.
you took a few breaths to calm yourself. “you should go back down, I think I’m gonna stay behind, I just remembered I have a project to complete,” you came up with an excuse as the tears finally fell, wetting the parchment below you.
you waited for him to bid you goodbye, but instead you were met with the slamming of the door behind you.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
you had managed to avoid draco for some time now, not being the confrontational type and unsure of what to do if you had talked to him. you were sure that he didn't mean what he said, yet again, life was always full of surprises.
for example, one night, he had surprised you as you entered your dorm to see him seated on your bed, waiting for your arrival.
"we need to talk," draco stood up as you avoided eye contact with him, not as comfortable being in his presence after what he had said about you.
"okay then, talk." you crossed your arms, still not prepared for the conversation waiting to unfold.
"I didn't mean what I said," so you were right. "I just had stress building up that whole week, and when you came at me I kind of freaked out."
you sighed, "that doesn't give you permission to take it out on me." your voice was so small and soft that it made draco feel even guiltier.
draco gulped, "I know it doesn't, and I'm sorry. it wasn't fair to you, and I should've just listened to you in the first place. I love you, y/n, and I wouldn't want to do anything that would jeopardize our relationship."
"I think we may have to work on that last bit," you jokingly tapped your chin in attempt to ease the tension as draco let out a small chuckle. moments of silence passed by as you stared down at the ground, gathering your thoughts as draco waited patiently for you to say what was on your mind.
"I forgive you, but..." draco's expression suddenly dropped as you let out a shaky breath. "I need you to give me some time, what you said really hurt me."
draco nodded, telling you he understood. "and I want you to take time to listen me next time and see things from my perspective. you can be friends with astoria but I think you need to set some boundaries." you started to bite down on your thumbnail, scared that you were asking for too much from him.
"of course, I already talked with her and we can take things as slow as you want," draco held open his arms as you slowly embraced and thanked him.
he pressed a loving kiss onto your forehead as the two of you continued to hold one another. pulling away, small smiles were worn on both of your faces, knowing that you guys would get through this little bump in the road.

The Great Upheaval of Percy Weasley: Black Lingerie
Percy Weasley x OC
Summary: Accidental insults lead to study sessions and answered questions
Warnings: angst, some public making out (still a bit tame, but don’t you worry ;) )
MASTERLIST
black lingerie -n- you said you matched it to the color of your heart but as I undressed your soul I knew you had lied
***
“We’re going to get right into it,” Lupin announced as he passed back the pop quizzes from his first class. Percy glanced down at the paper, almost perfect marks. More surprising, was at the top of his paper, beside his name was Wilton. He looked around in panic.
Had he written that?
Was he already blowing their cover?
“Some of you may have already noticed, but there is a name beside your own. That individual scored the closest to you on the pop quiz, and consequently will be your dueling partner for the rest of the year. Now there will be no need to change seats,” he added as students began groaning about their partners. He wanted to look back and see Elle’s reaction, but he wasn’t sure he really wanted to know.
He had always been a little hesitant of the girl. She had ‘bad news’ written across her forehead in the same thick liner he had never seen her without. And there were of course the rumors he tried not to put much stock in. Somehow, now that he knew her, she was more intimidating than before, and smarter, and more of an enigma.
Funny how that works out, isn’t it? He knew that while she looked like Halloween, she tasted like May Day. He knew what her skirt felt like in his hands, and he knew that the space between her thighs were warmer than any sweater. He knew how she kissed, and yet he didn’t really know anything about her.
“Hey, head boy,” she said, startling him out of his thoughts. He turned to find her standing behind him, arms crossed with an amused expression, “Are we going to practice or are you going to keep staring at your test.”
“Practice?”
“Nonverbal spells. Weren’t you paying attention?”
“I guess not,” he muttered, and she rolled her eyes before beckoning him to their corner. “I didn’t know you were second in the class, congratulations,” he offered as he followed her. He didn’t know why he had said anything about the grade, it was without tact, but he certainly hadn’t expected her to laugh coldly. A shiver ran down his spine while he placed himself the correct number of paces away, pulling himself together as he tried to shake out the distraction. By the time he was ready, she was already pointing her white, slender wand in his direction. She looked nonchalant and unprepared, but he could tell from the tightness in her wrist she would begin as soon as he did.
He flicked his wand, aiming to disarm her, but she blocked it with ease. He went again, determined to keep her on the defense. They were entirely silent as she gracefully defended every attack he had to offer.
Then he switched from simple disarming to jinxes.
She didn’t miss a beat. Her defensive charms grew stronger until not only were they protecting her but pushing him backwards. They stepped into another group’s area, but it didn’t really matter, their silent lightshow had already captured the rest of the class’s attention. Percy even caught sight of Lupin watching them from where he had been helping another group. His back hit a desk as she advanced, something dangerous in her eyes. Using his wand, he whisked it towards her in a desperate attempt to slow her, but she hopped onto the desks surface. She stared down at him, looking like pure power. She threw her first jinx, and then another, and another, almost quicker than he was able to throw up shield charms.
Sweat dripped down his forehead, stinging his eyes, but she didn’t look like she was tired at all. She looked like she had just entered the ring and was prepared to destroy whoever tried to face her.
That just so happened to be Percy.
He could feel the spells getting more dangerous, pushing against every counter curse and defense with no remorse. He stumbled over a chair and hit the ground. Quiet, cool, calculation turned to a smile as she hopped down from the desk, wand still raised. His wand had fallen out of his hand and whatever spell she decided to cast was going to be the end of the duel. She raised it and he scrambled for his wand in a last-ditch effort to keep it going, but a shield formed between them before either could make a move.
“That class, was an excellent demonstration of dueling,” Lupin said, clapping as he stepped forward. He spoke quietly to Elle, but from where Percy lay, he couldn’t hear, he could only see the angry look Elle’s face soften before seizing up again. She opened her mouth the argue, but Lupin must have said something to keep her quiet, because she instantly shoved past him and around the shield charm.
Lupin was chuckling as he helped Percy from the ground, offering him a ‘good job’ before dismissing the class. Percy turned to look for Elle, but she was already there, shoving a piece of parchment into his chest.
“I’m number fucking one,” she snapped before marching away, Dinah doing her best to keep her stride. Percy pulled the parchment from his chest and glanced at her test, a perfect score. His stomach dropped at the sudden explanation. He had become the pompous ass she knew him for by simply assuming she was beneath him. She had certainly proven him wrong, and now he was going to be lucky if she bothered to ever look at him again. As he packed away the books that had been strewn across the floor during their duel, promising himself he would apologize the moment he got a chance.
Which he hoped would be Transfigurations.
He slid into his seat at the front of the classroom and watched as Elle and Dinah whispered in the back of the classroom, the poor lad who had taken Elle’s seat dripping with boredom.
“Ms. Wilton, take your seat,” Professor McGonagall called as she entered the classroom. The girls laughed for a few moments, before Elle slid off the desk and practically swanned to her seat.
“Elle,” he whispered but she ignored him, not that he blamed her. She took her notes and ignored every possible thing he did to capture her attention. When class ended, she jumped up as quickly as she could manage. All he could do was run after her.
“Elle, Elle,” he called down the corridor after the pair. Suddenly, Dinah whirled around while Elle continued to look away.
“Are you looking to get your ass kicked again, because I promise I won’t be as nice as my friend,” Dinah snapped, drawing her wand. The hallway around them seemed to freeze, almost every pair of eyes seemed to stare at the badge shining brightly on his chest. Even Dinah seemed to flicker as she remembered who she was speaking to, but it only lasted a moment before she inched closer, sticking the tip of her wand against the gold.
“I’m sorry, Elle,” he announced, doing his best to ignore Dinah’s glare, “It was a stupid arrogant thing to say, and I’m sorry.” Much to his relief, she turned around, lowering Dinah’s arm as she did so.
“I’ll meet you in Herbology.”
“Elle-.”
“Do you not think I can handle a Weasley?” she snapped. Had it been any other time, Percy would have felt indignant, but he was going to take every sort of verbal abuse she had to offer if it meant she was going to forgive him. Dinah glared at him one more time before turning on her five-inch heels and marching away. “And the rest of you, get to class before the Head boy has to take house points.”
No one moved, points and orders meant almost nothing when a fight was about to break out.
“Go,” he yelled into the silent corridor. A few beats passed before begrudging feet shuffled away, leaving them alone in the corridor. “I’m sorry-.”
“I heard.” He shifted nervously, desperately thinking back to everything he knew about her. He had never groveled before, and before that moment he was sure he never would.
“I want you to study for our N.E.W.Ts with me. I only want to study with the best, and that’s clearly you.” He took a small step back as she narrowed her eyes, waiting for the jinx that was sitting on her tongue to lash out.
“Alright, library at six?” He blinked, and then again. He couldn’t believe it; he was still alive, and she had agreed. She waved her hand in front of his face, “Earth to Percy?”
“Yeah, six.”
“Don’t be late,” she ordered before offering him the smallest little grin. It disappeared as quickly as it came, and she whirled away, hurrying off to her next class. He watched the two braids down her back wave him goodbye. Frankly, they were the only thing that stopped him from watching her hips instead.
He shook the image of skirt swishing back and forth, coughing, and checking to make sure that no one had noticed his moment of weakness. When he was satisfied there was no one hiding behind corners, he briskly made his way to the common room. If he was going to keep up with her, he needed to be a little ahead.
The trip, that should have been quick and without interruption, was hijacked by none other than Fred and George. They were rushing around a corner excitedly, but when they saw him their excitement quickly dropped.
“We heard you were getting beat up,” George announced.
“But you seem free of bruises,” Fred finished, both approaching him skeptically, searching for the nonexistent contusions.
“I don’t know who told you that, but I am not getting beat up.”
“So, Dinah Baker didn’t pull her wand on you after Transfiguration?”
“And Elle Wilton didn’t send everyone away so she could absolutely pummel you into the ground?”
“She didn’t send everyone away to pummel me,” Percy snapped and both boys sagged in disappointment.
“That’s too bad. It probably would’ve been the most action you ever got.”
“Yeah, probably the first and last time a girl ever put her hands on you.”
“I’d let Wilton pummel me, she’s a right babe.”
“Very true, Fred, very true.”
“And that rack of hers.”
“I heard Davies ran into her during the rain once, claims he could see right through her shirt.”
“Black lingerie?”
“Black lingerie.”
Percy was fuming. He wanted to interrupt, to punch one of them, but he remained still, doing his best to keep his breathing even. Attacking his brother was not how a head boy should behave, and there was nothing more suspicious than defending a girl he barely talked to in public.
It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they had piqued his curiosity about the under-workings of Elle Wilton’s wardrobe.
“Last year she patched me up after Quidditch practice, and I swear she was all over me.”
“Are you sure that wasn’t all the painkillers?”
“Hey!”
“Are you two done?” Percy asked as casually as he could manage. They both turned to look at him. It seemed they had forgotten he was even there. “I have things to attend to, and if I catch either of you sneaking into the girl’s dormitory, I will not hesitate to take fifteen points from you both.” The twins rolled their eyes before pushing past him.
He took a deep breath and promised himself not to think about black lingerie.
And it worked too, until six when she arrived in the library, not wearing her uniform. It wasn’t ridiculous, but it certainly wasn’t what he was used to. He should have called her over, raised his hand, anything, but he couldn’t stop staring long enough to control his motor skills.
The flared plaid had been traded for a solid black skirt that was much tighter… and much shorter. The combat boots and fishnets were still present, but they seemed more dangerous than before. The neckline of her top was high, and the sleeves were long, but the red fabric was so tight it didn’t really leave much to the imagination. He shifted beneath the desk as he rose a hand, hoping to catch her attention without drawing too much to himself. Her eyes landed on his and she grinned, pushing towards the table he had chosen.
She sat down, pulling out her books as she went. He tried not to stare, he really did, but could anyone really blame him, when she looked like that, and when he knew that if he asked she was going to let him touch… that.
“You changed,” he blurted, and then prepared himself a Draught of Living Death right there. His big mouth had already gotten him in trouble once today, and here he was blurting out whatever came to mind. She looked up from her bag and smirked.
“It is technically the weekend; you’re not going to take points from me, are you?”
“What? No, I just noticed.”
“Thank you for noticing then.” Somehow, he had survived. “Also, I want to apologize for what happened in Lupin’s class, my temper got ahead of me.”
“It was my fault, I shouldn’t have assumed, and trust me, I won’t underestimate you again. That was excellent magic, I wasn’t kidding when I said I want to learn from the best.”
“Oh,” was all she said, and for a moment he thought she might be blushing, “I hope I live up to your expectations.”
“I’m sure you will.” She was definitely blushing now. “Shall we get into it?” he asked, doing his best to save her and she quickly nodded, burying herself into her charms essay.
They both worked for hours, only speaking to ask questions about something that had been mentioned in class, or an odd concept discussed in the book; and it was enjoyable. Percy had never once considered that one day he would enjoy sitting across a table from Elle Wilton as they studied. He wasn’t even convinced she studied before today, but now she was sitting across from him, a stain on her lip from where she held her quill as she slunk deeper into thought.
Suddenly, she slammed her book shut and stood.
“Want to come to the restricted section?”
“You need a note?”
“I have a permanent note, plus we’re in advanced Defense Against the Dark Arts, that’s automatic admittance.” She slid past Madam Pince, offering her a smug smile to which she responded with a glare. It was clear they were not one another’s biggest fans. She pushed through the gate and began perusing the shelves, clearly looking for something.
“What are you looking for?”
“Unforgivable Curses.” That did not exactly answer his question.
“Any book in particular?”
“No, anything that focuses on their creation will be perfect.”
“What for?”
“Lupin’s essay.”
“What’s your topic?”
“Why Defense Charms are useless against Unforgivable Curses. It has something to do with how they were created, but our book isn’t specific in what manner, so I’m hoping that…” she explained, trailing off as something caught her eye. She took a step back and pressed up on her toes. “Yes, that’s got to be it.” The book she was pointing at was silver, the words “Unforgivable Curses” emblazoned into the side with dark black ink.
It was a few shelves higher than she could reach, but that didn’t stop her from trying, or her skirt from rising up her thighs as she stretched for the desired book. Percy reprimanded his wandering eyes and reached for it over her head. He barely brushed the bottom of the spine but managed to pull it down without too much effort. She turned around, taking the book from his hands, staring up at him as she leaned against the shelf, smirking all the while.
He wasn’t quite sure what she was smirking about until he realized what it would look like if someone turned the corner. His arm was stretched above her, gripping the shelf as he leaned over her, a leg situated between hers. He jumped back and she had the audacity to laugh.
“Don’t act as if we’ve never been in that position before,” she teased as he sputtered with indignation.
“We’re in the library.”
“Yeah, not a church.”
“Anyone could see.”
“It’s the Restricted Section, how many people come in here on a busy day, let alone a Friday?” She was smirking at him again, always smirking when she knew she was about to win. Though, in this case he wasn’t inclined to stop her. She crooked a finger forward and he obeyed, hovering over her once more, leaning down to capture her lips in his. She responded wholeheartedly, wrapping her arms around his neck. His hand slipped to her skirt and he might have let it wander beneath it if Fred and George’s voices didn’t fill his head with the conversation from earlier.
‘Black Lingerie,’ they seemed to repeat, until suddenly he was sure their voices weren’t just in his head. He pulled away, and sure enough just outside the Restricted Section were his two very loud brothers.
“Those idiots again. I already had to fight them off once today. They were convinced I beat you up earlier,” she groaned as she pushed Percy away, fixing her skirt as she marched towards the entrance. He followed her, but she pressed a hand to his chest, stopping him in his tracks. “Just wait here, they’ll be gone before you know it.” He hid in the shadows as she pushed her way back into the main portion of the library.
“Where’s Percy?” one of them, who he could only presume was Fred, yelled over Madam Pince’s insistent hushing. “You’ve killed him, haven’t you?”
“He’s looking for a book, which often happens in a library. Not that either of you would know anything about that.” A beat of silence passed before his brothers burst into laughter.
“And you do? C’mon Wilton we know you’re only here to beat him up in private.” Percy could practically hear Elle’s eyeroll.
“If I go get him, and prove that he’s not dead will you leave?”
“Only if you kiss me too.” Percy was ready to charge out after her now, but from the way the library grew decibels quieter, he had a good feeling that she was going to take care of it. Another beat of silence passed before her voice filled the air. It was low and dangerous, and even Percy was a little worried for his younger brother.
“If you ever insinuate anything like that ever again, I will make sure the next morning you wake up in Timbuktu thinking you’re a French salesman who recently donated his prick to a local charity, do you understand me?” A beat of silence passed. “I can’t hear you.”
“Yes,” his brother whispered and then the atmosphere returned to normal.
“Excellent, now do you still want to see Percy or are you feeling ready to retire for the night?” Scampering footsteps followed her question and before he knew it, she returned to where he had been listening. He blinked at her and she smiled, dragging him further into the dark aisles of the restricted section.
“Where have you been all my life?” he stuttered, and she laughed before pushing him against a shelf and pulling him down to meet her lips.
“Wait, wait,” he gasped pushing her away.
“If you’re really the uncomfortable about the library we can go.”
“No, no that’s not it.”
“Then what is it?” Percy swallowed nervously, but he was sure if he didn’t ask, he was going to keep hearing their voices.
“Do you wear black lingerie?” Thankfully, she didn’t seem at all put out by the question, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to end up as a French salesman.
“Not today, but sometimes, why do you ask?” she laughed.
“No reason,” he replied, swooping down, and kissing her before she had time to ask any more questions. She responded with zealous, and he smirked against her lips. He was sure he had just found another surprise about the enigma he was holding in his arms, a surprise he was excited to witness all on his own.

Just Can’t Choose- Bakugo x Todoroki x Fem!Reader
warnings: smut, cussing, angst, fluff, love triangle, cheating??
author’s note: so i got no notifs for this ask and it’s so old i’m so sorry this took me so long. here’s to my first ask! this one’s gonna be long
Todoroki and you were as thick as theives when you were kids. Still to this day you were inseparable even enrolling in the same school together. You think back to your first day at UA. Shoto was so excited when he found out you were going to be at his side throughout highschool just like in middle school.
“This is going to be great! Our first day at UA! Are you excited, Shoto?” You ask, jumping up and down while holding Todoroki’s shoulders. He laughs softly and nods.
“Yeah. I can’t believe we made it. I got a recommendation but you earned your spot here. Congrats.” He said. You smile and hug him tightly, grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the school’s entrance like an excited child.
You were always the more energetic one out of the two of you. You remember Shoto being really shy and he mostly kept to himself, never speaking too much simply nodding or shaking his head to communicate. But with your help he eventually came out of his shell and you two have been best friends ever since.
You both approach class 1-A and sit a row away from each other, you waving at him from across the room. Todoroki blushed and waved back to you as class began. You were hardly paying attention to whatever the teacher was talking about, scribbling x’s and o’s in your notebook and daydreaming about you and Shoto. Suddenly you drop your pencil, hunching to pick it up when and pair of strong legs block your way. You look up to see a spiky headed blonde dream boat looking down at you with a fiery annoyance in his eyes.
“Outta my way.” He said gruffly, causing your stomach to churn at the deep and gravely sound of his voice. You gulp, unable to say anything as your heart practically beat outside your chest. Who was he?
It’s now your third year at UA and both you and Todoroki’s bond grew stronger, a friendship turning into seemingly unrequited feelings over the years. You couldn’t help but have this love for Todoroki having known him for so long. He just seemed to always know what you were thinking. You knew deep down he was your twin flame.
“Y/N? You’re daydreaming again. Did you hear what I said?” Todoroki asked. You snap out of your deep thought and look Todoroki in his heterochromia eyes, almost melting at his gaze even though he was only asking you a question. You were studying together in the school’s library, a tradition you two shared since middle school. Todoroki was really smart and you weren’t the perfect student so he always helped you. You owed most of your good test scores to him.
“Y-yeah. Sorry.” You said looking down at your notebook. Todoroki tutored you a little more until you heard a familiar voice ring in your ears.
“Oi, Y/N. The hell are you doin with icy hot?” Bakugo said, leaning against the desk you and Shoto were sitting at causing Shoto to groan in annoyance.
“What she’s doing is studying, idiot.” Todoroki said clutching his pencil, slowly turning it to ice as he gripped it tightly.
“Tch.. whatever. As I was saying, y/n. Why study with this dweeb when you could come hang with me instead, huh?” Katsuki said, leaning in close to your face as he grabbed your chin to make you face him. You were so flustered you couldn’t look away, freezing at his touch. Shoto was furious but he’d never let you know that. If he did, then you’d know his true feelings for you and it seemed like Bakugo had you wrapped around his dirty fucking finger.
“U-um.. sure..? Lemme just finish up with Shoto, Katsuki.” You say, avoiding Bakugo’s crimson gaze. You fidget in your seat a little as he releases your chin and agrees to wait for tou outside the library.
“Five minutes, or I’m coming to get you.” He said as he walked away. You sit in front of Shoto, embarrassed and now confused. You couldn’t deny your feelings for him but you also couldn’t help but be swooned by Bakugo. It was something about his crassness and his ability to say whatever was on his mind. He was so honest and open and he didn’t give a damn about what people thought of him. That confidence was such a turn on.
“Don’t let me stop you. Enjoy your date.” Todoroki feigning a tease while forcing a smile, deep down inside screaming and breaking Bakugo’s neck for touching you and taking you away from him.
You laugh it off, assuring him it’s not a date although you were unsure of that fact yourself. You grab your stuff and walk out to meet with Bakugo, Todoroki watching you leave with sadness written across his face.
“Where are we going anyways, ‘Suki?” You ask innocently, clutching the straps of your backpack as you followed Bakugo to his car. Bakugo opened the door for you and let you in the car before shutting it and walking to the driver’s side.
“I don’t know. To be honest I didn’t think this far. I guess we can go get hot pot, whaddaya say?” Bakugo suggests. You cheer and turn on the radio as Bakugo laughs and drives to his favorite hot spot place, eager to share this place with you.
Bakugo may not admit it directly, but he was smitten with you. He had been since the first year at UA when you bumped into his legs trying to grab your pencil off the floor. He couldn’t help be stare at the back of your head in class since he sat behind you and wonder what you like to do in your spare time. He loved that you were such a good hearted person, unable to find a negative bone in your body. Bakugo admired your positive disposition and he kinda wished he could be as sweet as you. If only he could find the strength to tell you how he felt.
After a long night of laughter and story telling you both finish your food. You sigh and lean back in the seat of the booth you sat in, groaning at the fullness of your stomach as Bakugo burping loudly.
“Ready to go?” He asked, as if he didn’t just belch. You giggle and nod, reaching into your bag for your wallet to help pay.
“The hell are you doin’? I got it. Tch..” Bakugo said as if he was irritated that you were willing to lay your half for the food.
“Thank.. you?” You said with confusion. Was he glad to pay or just annoyed. You could never tell with Bakugo. He was a riddle that you wanted to desperately solve. After Bakugo paid for the food you both walk outside to make your way to the car. You chat to him on and on about how much food you ate and how good it was until he suddenly stopped walking.
“W-what is it, ‘Suki?” You ask. Bakugo doesn’t answer. He instead pulls you into a passionate kiss, sending lightning bolts all throughout your body as you instinctively kiss him back. Fuck, what were you thinking? What about Todoroki? You can’t just ignore what you feel for him while fraternizing with Bakugo. Even if he was strong. And handsome. And a great fucking kisser. You moan as he deepened the kiss, pinning you against the car as he ran his hands up your body.
“This is what you wanted, huh?” Bakugo asked between this kiss. “Tired of that icy hot bastard, aren’t ya?” You freeze when he mentioned Todoroki, wanting to defend him but you’re so drunk on Bakugo’s touch you just stare dumbly at Bakugo’s smirking face.
“I-I.. I’m not dating Todoroki.” You admit, looking down at your feet feeling some kind of shame.
“Perfect. Then you’re mine.” Bakugo said darkly.
You tense up as he pulled you in to kiss him again. You hesitate and start to kiss him back. Bakugo pulls away breifly to open the back seat and lead you inside, crawling on top of you as he reached inside your uniform shirt. You squeal at his sudden movement, unsure if you can go through with this at first. But when Katsuki starts expertly leaving kisses on your neck all worry left your mind, sinking into the pleasure you were receiving as you grab at Bakugo’s pants to signal him to take them off.
“I knew you wanted me. Just as much I want you.” Katsuki says breathlessly. You moan in response as he unbuttoned the uniform shirt you wore, pulling your breasts from your bra as he suckled on your now swollen nubs. You start to clench, wetness sopping through your panties as Bakugo worked you over. He reached his hand under your skirt and felt the wetness seeping through your panties with a satisfied smirk. He pulled them aside and teasingly ran his fingers up and down your dripping slit.
“Heh. I haven’t even done anything. So fucking needy.” He mocked causing you cover your face as you blushed.
Sliding two of his thick digits into your soaking wet hole, he kept his eyes locked onto yours, you rolling your eyes to the back of your head in sheer bliss. You were overwhelmed with a feeling of guilt and shame but also pure euphoric pleasure, almost never wanting this feeling to end. The knot in your stomach tightened as Bakugo pumped his fingers in and out of your greedy pussy with purpose causing you to jolt and shake beneath him.
“S-Suki I’m-“ you’re interrupted by your orgasm crashing through your body, moans filling his car as you whine under him. Bakugo smirks and takes his finger out of you to lick them clean, kissing you to have you taste your own juices on his lips. You mewl, coming down from your high as Bakugo pulls out his dick.
“My turn, sweetheart.” He smirks.
After the intense and sloppy fucking you just received in the back of Katsuki’s car, he drives you home. The windows were still foggy from the heat you both excuded during the session and you lazily drew hearts and smiley faces in the fog with your finger. You were in bliss but at the same time you couldn’t help but feel like you made a terrible choice. Still, Todoroki had never told you how he felt about you so you doubt he’ll care. Still, you felt as if you cheated on him even though you weren’t even together. You feel your phone vibrate on your lap as Bakugo pulled up to your front door.
“See ya ‘round, kitten.” Katsuki says, pulling you into a goodbye kiss. You kiss him back with a small frown and get out of the car and check your phone. You freeze as Bakugo pulls away, reading the text you got from
“❄️ half n half 🔥”
“SOS.” It read. It was late and you should probably get inside and go to bed but Shoto needed you. You rush to Todoroki’s house, calling him to let him know you’re outside without alerting his sleeping family. Shortly, Shoto walks outside and stands in front of you.
“So.” He said coldly.
“So...?” You say nervously.
“Do you know what time it is? And you’re just getting home. Don’t tell me you forgot we share locations with each other. I watched you all night.” Todoroki says, gesturing to your disheveled uniform. Shit. Busted. You look down at your feet.
“Look. I don’t even wanna know what happened between you and that bastard today. I could fucking kill him.” Todoroki says, fire forming as he balls his hands into fists. You take a step back from him, knowing that when Shoto gets angry he gets pissed.
“W-What are you talking about?” You asked, unable to look him in the eyes as you lie to his face.
“Don’t. Do not insult my intelligence by lying to my fucking face, Y/N. You were with Bakugo all night. And now you show up here with your uniform all messed up and hanging off your body.” Shoto says sternly, the fire growing bigger as he gets angrier. Shoto was furious. Not only did Bakugo take your attention from him earlier today but he now knows you slept with him before he could. He couldn’t be more fucking angry right now.
“What do you care!? I’m not your girlfriend. All this time we’ve spent together and you never once told me how you felt about me. So why do you care, Todo!?” You yell.
“Because I love you, you fucking idiot!” Todoroki yelled back, shocking you into silence.“Yeah. I said it. I love you. I always have. And I always will. And just knowing that he touched you, was inside you; it infuriates me. What is it about him, huh?! What does he have that I don’t!?”
You stare at Todoroki as hot tears stream down his face in utter betrayl. He knows it’s selfish for him to even be upset with you being as he’s never confessed his feelings until it was ultimately too late, but he couldn’t help it. His love for you consumed him and he’ll be damned if he let you be swiped from under his nose without a fight.
“T-Todo.. I-I love you too. I always loved you. What happened with Bakugo just.. it was in the heat of the moment. If I knew how you felt I would have never even touch him. I wanted to be with you for so long and I-“
Todoroki shuts you up with a feverish kiss. You kiss him back immediately, wanting this for so long. That spark you looked for in Bakugo was strong with Shoto, the world seeming to freeze as you held each other in the snow as you kissed. Your arms slightly burned as Todoroki’s hands were still hot to the touch, him making them cold to numb the pain before you blistered. You start to cry within the kiss, Todoroki shushing you in between the kisses as you comforted you.
“I’m sorry.. I’m so sorry.” You plead as he kissed you, pulling him impossibly closer to you as you sob.
“Don’t be. I love you anyway.”
I hope you liked this! I typed this up just for you. Forgive me for responding so late 🥺.

Closure • (Remus Lupin x Reader)
Warnings: None
Description: You reconnect with your former Hogwarts-years lover in the most unexpected way.
A/N: Slight angst, ends on a good note.
Walking around the corridors of the Hogwarts castle with an injured hand wasn’t your ideal way of spending your night. It had all happened just as you were getting ready for bed. Gathering all your graded papers, you decided to store them in your trunk, as you usually do every night. Unfortunately for you, the lid of the trunk came crashing right back down out of nowhere and landing straight onto your hand. It took every inch of your body to not scream out a slew of unforgivable words in order to maintain the peace of the castle. Still you couldn’t help but kick the trunk in frustration and snatch your hand away. With a throbbing hand you searched frantically for something to soothe it. Nothing was readily available and you didn’t feel like waking up poor Madam Pomfrey for a bruised hand. So you resorted to the only man you know to be awake at this hour: Remus J. Lupin.
Remus Lupin was not a man to get much sleep. Back when you both were students at Hogwarts, you always remember him sitting in the common room in the dead of night. Usually it would be to finish a lengthy essay or get some more study time worked in. But sometimes you two would sit together near the fireplace and talk about the most insightful topics. The nights would end with you falling asleep on him and magically waking up back in your own bed. The days when you two dated were the most comforting and enjoyable you’ve ever felt. He was the perfect boyfriend. Everyday he would serve you a glass of pumpkin juice with a peck on the cheek. During classes he would pass you notes that often contained several compliments and an occasional sneaky answer. Days would be filled in with study sessions, sitting by the lake, and lots of cuddling. He trusted you with everything. Including the long kept secret that terrorized him the most, that he was a werewolf. You were everything to him.
You never wanted to end the relationship. It was the last thing you wanted to do. But the comforting days of teenagers at Hogwarts turned into a stressful time as adults. You had become an Auror right out of Hogwarts while Remus struggled to find a stable job. Being a werewolf didn’t come with its negative effects, after all. You would sometimes go days without seeing him depending on how much time was needed on an investigation. When you did see him, you were always so exhausted and sleep deprived. Eventually all this stress kept piling up to the point where you both decided it was best to part ways. No hard feelings were left but you didn’t hear much from him after that.
Just a few years later, you resigned your job as being an Auror. Though it was an exciting couple of years, it was best to just take some time for yourself and find a more peaceful job. When you heard of the Muggle Studies teaching position open at Hogwarts, you knew this was your opportunity. You knew all about muggles, as you grew up around them, therefore it was an easy job to secure. What you didn’t realize, however, was that one of your colleagues was the same man you left years ago. Catching his gaze at the Great Hall feast in the beginning of the year brought all of the memories back to you once more.
Which brings us back to this moment. You scurry your way to his quarters in hopes of obtaining a treatment for your hand and perhaps some closure from the man you once loved. You mumble apologies to the portraits you had awoken until you finally reach his door. Though hesitant at first, you finally muster up the courage to knock 3 times. It doesn’t take long for an answer as you look at a disheveled Remus Lupin standing at the front of the door wearing some worn out pajamas. Clearly, he didn’t expect you to be the one knocking at his door in the middle of the night as he continues staring you down for a moment. Eventually, he clears his throat and addresses you.
“Oh.” Remus speaks. “Professor, what a surprise. I didn’t- I wasn’t expecting any guests at this hour. May I help you?”
“You got anything for this.” You say, lifting your bruised hand up.
“Oh of course, do come in.”
He opens up the door wider for you and you make your way inside his quarters. It was a cozy little place. All his bags were on the floor and a few garments were thrown onto the bed. He mumbles an apology for the mess and goes to one of his drawers. Pulling out a small blue water packet, he performs a freezing spell on it to turn it into ice. He gestures to you to come over. You and him plop on the edge of the bed. He takes your hand into his own, ever so gently, careful not to hurt you even more. You wince as he begins to apply pressure to it with the ice.
“Just hold still.” He says, calmly. “I promise this will make it feel better.”
You nod and bite your tongue as he applies more pressure. His hands are coarse and rough now as opposed to a few years ago. Clearly, these past few years haven’t treated him well. His hands keep the ice steady as he gently brushes your palm.
“How have you been?” You say out of nowhere. You couldn’t bear the silence any longer.
“Rough.” He admits. “Full moon yesterday and well… you know.”
“Oh right, sorry. I didn’t notice.”
“No worries.”
You remain silent as he removes the ice pack for a moment to examine your hand. He pushes his thumb against the bruised area slightly and you wince once more. He looks up at you with concerned eyes. You give a slight smile, assuring him you are alright. He takes the ice pack and applies it to your hand once more.
“Yes, just leave it on for a few hours.” He says, letting you hold onto the ice pack now. “It should help numb the pain. Other than that your hand appears to be fine. Just some minor bruising. You’re free to go get some rest now.”
As you stand up from the bed, he catches your shoulder. You gasp a little in surprise and slowly come to sit once again with him.
“But that’s not the reason you came here, is it?” Remus asks, almost reading your mind. It was true. This visit was more than a mere injury treatment.
“I just… wanted to see you again.” You admit. “I know we didn’t get the closure we needed. I kind of just wanted that, if you don’t mind.”
“Oh not at all.” He says with a sigh. “Ever since I first saw you during the feast, I wanted to have this conversation with you.”
“Well then. Here we are. You’re not mad at me, are you?”
“Why would I be? This decision was made by the both of us.”
“I know I know. I just feel so guilty. I didn’t get to see you that much near the end of our relationship and I often wondered if you thought I didn’t care about you.”
“You were busy. I understood that. Never did it cross my mind that you didn’t care. I knew you did. And so did I.”
You let out a small relieved smile. “It’s just so hilariously sad now.”
“What is?” He says, shifting himself closer to you.
“Now I have all the time in the world but no one to spend it with.”
He gives a sad smile. “Oh the ironies of life. Would you like some tea?”
“Please.” Remus gets up and heads to the small kitchen attached to his room. You get up and follow him, leaving the ice pack on the bed. “Make sure to add only two spoons-”
“Two spoons of sugar.” Remus finishes for you. He gives a slight smile. “Don’t worry, I remember.” You feel your face blush slightly at this. That man never misses a beat, you’re sure of it. He sets the kettle and leans against the counter, running a hand through his hair.
“Was it bad?” You ask. Remus raises an eyebrow. “The full moon I mean.” You clarify.
“Oh no, not terribly at least. A few minor scratches and bruises. Nothing I haven’t already experienced before.”
“And here I am complaining about a bruised hand.” You laugh. Remus, however, gives you a concerned look as he walks over to you. He carefully takes both of your hands into his.
“Please don’t feel bad about asking me for help.” He says looking straight into your eyes. “You know I will always help you no matter how small it is. Always.” As you stare into his basil-green eyes you can’t help but feel your face heat up again. Something about his stare always drove you mad. Clearly it hasn’t stopped anytime soon. He appears to be moving closer to you before the whistle of the kettle makes him jump a bit. He quickly runs to it and prepares the cups.
As he pours the green tea into an elegant cup, you can’t help but try to explain everything going through your mind. “I wanted to reach out to you. I did. I just didn’t know how. I’m just so relieved that now I get the chance to.”
“So did I.” Remus confesses as he hands you a cup. You take the cup of warm liquid and take a sip from it. Delicious, of course. He always made the best tea. “I just figured you wanted to be left alone. I wouldn’t blame you. Being an Auror is a difficult career. Therefore I went against my own personal emotions considering I still… well, it would be inappropriate to say now.” He takes a gulp from his own cup.
“No please, tell me Remus.” You plead. He stares at you once more and sighs before setting his cup on the table.
“Considering I was still in love with you.” Your heart is racing now. You set your own cup on the table.
“You were?” You ask, stunned. “And now?”
“Nothing has changed. Even after all these years. I still thought of you and hoped you were doing well. Everyday.”
“Oh, Remus.” You cup his face with both hands, bruised hand and everything. Your thumb rubs against his cheek as you slowly move his hair away from his face. He brings his hands to cover yours and gives you the most comforting look.
“Don’t you worry about me now.” He reassures you. “I’ll cope.”
“You don’t have to.” You finally fill in the gap between the two of you and press your lips gently against his. He doesn’t react to this at first, just stands there in confusion. Slowly, however, he brings his hands to your hair and gently combs through it, falling into your kiss. He never once retracts from you. Only crashing back onto your lips over and over. It was the most sincere and wonderful kiss you’ve ever had.
When he finally breaks it, he still holds onto your waist, giving you the biggest smile. His eyes were a different story, however. They were drained and half open. Clearly he was exhausted.
“You’re tired, Remus.”
“A tad. Never of you though.” He places a kiss on your forehead.
“I should really let you sleep.”
“You know you can stay the night.” He says to you in a half whisper. “Only if you’d like. I’d be more than willing to have you here.”
You laugh, running a hand through his sandy locks. “Of course.”
You both climb into his bed, completely exhausted from a long night. Before you get a chance to say something he clutches you close to him. You smile and ease into his embrace. He rests his chin on your head and has his arms wrapped tightly around you. Kissing your head, he sleepily mumbles something into your hair that you couldn’t quite catch.
“What was that, dear?” You ask.
“I’ve missed you.” He mumbles before crashing into a deep sleep.

: prologue
>>>First<<<
Loud screeching was what woke you up. Thundering of footsteps down the corridor made you groan and turn in bed because for god's sake, it was Saturday morning and they just had to be loud at 10am!
Your roommate, lying in the bed just four feet next to yours, stirred awake too, though considering her eyes were fully open, she must have been up for a while now. “I’m glad it’s them waking you up and not me.”
You sighed and managed to smile but you were tired. Life in dormitories sucked, but yours even more so since you were assigned probably the worst dorms in the campus. Having to share bathroom and shower rooms made you leave your comfort zone. But finding toilets in the terrible state you did just purely horrified you. Why weren’t some girls flushing the toilets?!
“You know very well I won’t kill you if you wake me up, Yuyeon-ah,” you mumbled, your voice hoarse. Having Yuyeon as your roommate was the only positive aspect of the dorm life. Some would argue it’s the most important one but you were selfish and you wished you had a private bathroom like the other, more advanced, dorms had. There wasn’t even a kitchen where you could cook your ramyeon deliciously!
“Doubtful,” muttered Yuyeon, amused, and she moved to sit up and start her morning routine while you decided to lie around for just a little bit longer.
Working tirelessly many evenings made you tired and the exhaustion always caught up with you during weekends, where, frankly, you didn't have work. Also, it being the beginning of your second semester, the tension and stress were on but you decided you wouldn't let it affect you too much. You have had enough stress in your entire life and you swore you would become your usual cheerful self.
And you had been, indeed, working on it. But that meant getting over, and hopefully, forgetting everything that happened almost one year ago. Your brother was still in prison and your family, terribly disappointed and in pure shock at what had become of your brother (plus your underage drinking fiasco), you all decided it would be better for you to move to the dorms for the time being. Another story was forgetting about the person who was behind the entire turn-over of your life.
Byun Baekhyun.
You never saw him after that one time he came to your high school. In that moment, you were numb, paralyzed and it hurt to see him. He dared to act like he cared. But over the time, you grew hate towards him. A hate that was weirdly combined with some emotions you really didn't want to pay too much attention to, because they were all based on a fake relationship. A relationship, that was something so beautiful, just for it to end up becoming a complete nightmare. A trauma. A terrible trust issue that you might never be able to get rid of.
It was safe to say that you, Lee Nari, would rather spit at Byun Baekhyun than ever start a conversation with him let alone acknowledge his presence were you to meet him. Not that you were expecting to meet him. After all, you had been incredibly careful - especially around Oh Sehun - in avoiding him by never-ever-ever-ever even coming as much as close to the street where the main Bucheon Police Station was located (but too bad for you; it was literally in downtown Bucheon) and even if you had to cross it, you whined and had to be dragged by your wrist (by Yuyeon). On the good side, there was never a chance for you to cross his apartment building as he lived in a different neighborhood. So that was, thankfully, out of the possible trouble inducing locations’s list.
But still, you couldn't help feeling anxious about spotting him somewhere. The first few months, you might have been looking around with too much hope, wanting to see his real self instead of the ogling at the few photos you had together stored in your phone. Just one glance of his eyes, nose, lips was what you wanted; it was maddening.
Then the flashes of that day came back, ruining every sweet memory, every sweet touch of his engraved into your skin, every stroke of his lips - it all vanished, instead morphing into his stern, burning gaze of which you were on the receiving side. The way he blamed you, the way he wanted to arrest you, and then the way he wouldn't let even your own mother hit you yet he gave you the harshest of punches… The moment of you overhearing his conversation with his tall colleague (you already forgot his name) until your entire world crashed on you. He lied. He never liked you. He never wanted a real relationship with you. He used you to get to you. Byun Baekhyun wanted to arrest you and then he arrested your brother and smashed your heart into tiny pieces. How could you ever recover?
“What, you're not getting up?” shrieked Yuyeon when she came back from the bathrooms, towel hanging around her neck. “The results of the votes are today so you better get up and prepare. You're the school's star, missy,” she grumbled and went over to her table, continuing her complex skin-care routine.
Right.
The way to get over Byun Baekhyun was to live and you could do that thanks to your friends.
Pfft, you had places to be. Forget about Byun Baekhyun.
><
Because of your communications major, you somehow ended up in the university’s student council. You were representing your school year but it was still unclear how the hell you managed to win over more than half of your classmates when all you ever did was hide or be with Yuyeon.
You entered Bucheon University with pretty damaged self-esteem, your cheerful self still recovering from the scandal. However, despite always doing something mischievous with Yuyeon neither of you had a huge circle of friends. It was only natural that the two of you did everything together. Even now, it was mostly you and her, plus Sehun and some other friends. Unfortunately to you, many males voted because of the nature of your chest. The quiet girl with huuuge boobs, they were saying with hushed voices.
“Don’t pay attention to them, it’s you winning at the end of the day,” advised Yuyeon at the time.
So when the both of you waltzed into the seminar room with a round table in the middle and took seats (Yuyeon was there for your moral support), you could only glare at one senior who was sitting opposite you, his eyebrows wiggling as he shamelessly drunk in your chest which was, as per usual, hidden under an L-sized hoodie. It seemed you could never escape.
When the president of the student council, Chul, appeared you all stood up and bowed to him respectfully even though he was a student just like you. He was the oldest though.
To your surprise, he walked straight over to your chair, throwing a charming smile at Yuyeon, who let out a quiet scoff in return, before leaning down to whisper in your ear, not forgetting to touch your shoulder gently: “May I have a chat with you? It’s rather private.”
When he leaned away, you blinked twice but nodded and followed him outside for a moment. You could hear whispers erupting after you left though you paid no attention to them.
“What is it, Chul?” you asked, crossing your arms over your chest. Chul was one of the very few who never got distracted by it and you were thankful. He helped you a lot in your first semester, like finding you a job and teaching you how to drive a scooter so that you could easily do the deliveries while introducing you to some other interesting people on the campus.
“So about the spring festival - I have two things,” he started, his gaze set on your eyes, always making sure he reciprocated the eye contact. “First, you are taking part in the relay running for our team with representatives. Second, you have been requested as the MC-“
Before he could finish, you sighed holding out your hand to stop him, feeling the nerves kick in, not even paying attention to the first news. “Those votes aren’t even valid. They are all mocking me, Chul. Besides, I don’t wanna do it.”
Chul let you finish, patiently nodding. “Well, hence me stealing you from the meeting.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’ve been requested,” he repeated, emphasizing the last word, “by our main star.”
“I thought we haven’t heard back from the agencies yet?” you asked. You’d written countless emails to various agencies, asking for special famous idols of theirs. To your utter distaste, it also included Siamsa but you couldn’t tell anyone you knew what an annoying, fake bitch she was.
He shrugged. “Well, we heard back from a couple. Siamsa agreed to be the main star of the festival under one condition,” he murmured, lowering his voice. He pointed his index finger at you. “If you’ll do the MCing for her.”
That left you speechless. That delusional woman wanted what now?! “I don’t want to, Chul,” you shook your head, frowning.
It made you wonder why you were getting nervous in the first place. Was it because of her status and having to stand in front of your entire school or was it because of the connection you both shared and that was Byun Baekhyun? Just the idea of having to face her and having to be reminded that she dated your ex made you weirdly sick in your stomach.
He sighed, scratching his neck. “I’m sorry, Nari, but I’m afraid I’m gonna want you to accept it. She is the hottest idol out there and everyone wants her the most. Imagine the attention our university - and especially us, the school council, could bring in. Don’t let us down,” he added gently, though you could sense authority in his voice. Chul was always fair, you had to admit. He never asked you to do anything that made you uncomfortable, never asked you the reason for your reluctance in the past but now he insisted and it showed in his intense gaze.
“I’ll help you with the preparations,” he added, smiling encouragingly. “You’re much more outspoken and talented than you give yourself credit for, so I’m sure you’ll be a star just like Siamsa.”
Well, he really didn’t have to say that last sentence. If there was someone you wanted to be like, it was your good old self. Of course you had more talent, after all you were the big-mouthed one.
Chul patiently waited, seeing that you were mulling over the options. When you looked up at him, you slowly nodded while hating yourself. “Fine. I’ll do it. But-” you stopped him from smiling widely, “what happened with the original voting? Who won?”
“Obviously, you.”
You shook your head quickly. “But I mean who is the actual winner?”
“Not important,” he muttered, brushing past you. “Let's head back inside. Not everyone has the time to sit around waiting on a Saturday.”
><
Once the meeting was over, you couldn't wait to spill the news to Yuyeon but needed to wait until lunch time, when you would meet Oh Sehun. You had sent him a text earlier asking if he was still grabbing lunch with you and Yuyeon (secretly you were writing these messages for obvious reasons - you couldn't risk he would be with Baekhyun). Since he had agreed, you and Yuyeon were speed-walking to the cafeteria, both of you hungry.
Once sat down and joined by the tall friend, you looked around varily just to make sure he really came alone.
Sehun sighed, tired with your dramatics. “I'm alone, Nari,” he rolled his eyes as he was mixing his tuna bibimbap. “And now spill. The both of you have been acting like rabbits on energy drinks.”
Shooting him a frown, you still rambled away for ten minutes, telling them what had happened. Yuyeon knew about Siamsa and your past experience with her and Sehun also knew the vital triangle connection of Siamsa, Baekhyun and you. He still seemed shocked and even uncomfortable when he heard your entire story.
“What made her request you?” he asked after he swallowed a big chunk of food. “I mean - does she even know your name? Your university?”
“And you literally met her a year ago,” added fervently Yuyeon, deep frown wrinkling her forehead.
Just like your friends, you also had many questions but no answers. Mulling over various possibilities, Sehun finally spoke up: “Should I ask Baek-”
“No.” Your answer was abrupt, but cold, empty and harsh to which Sehun winced the slightest bit. Even hearing his name made your heart race fast and hence the sudden cold behavior. Sehun knew you as a cheerful, kind girl so seeing you being affected by his friend to this extent made him quite perplexed but nothing he wasn’t used to by now. It was his fault; he should have known better than to bring him up.
Yuyeon shot you an unsure look but this time, you ignored it, focusing on shoving around the rice in the steel bowl with the spoon.
“You should have declined,” tried Yuyeon.
“I did decline,” you answered eagerly. “I feel like that bitch might have something up her sleeve. If she does, I should be ready.”
Sehun was flicking his gaze between you and Yuyeon, thinking over your words. Surely, things you didn't know about could hardly hurt you, right?
After lunch, Sehun bid his goodbyes to you.
“Where are you off to?” you pouted, looking up at him with puppy eyes. “It’s Saturday, let’s do something fun!”
“I’m going to the running tracks today with my friend,” answered Sehun and ruffled your hair in amusement to which you pulled back and away from his sneaky hand. “Maybe later, hm? I bet you’re gonna do something with the student council anyway.”
“You and your running, aish!” grumbled Yuyeon. “Go, go, we don’t need you anyway.”
“Don’t get into trouble!” Shouted Sehun as he turned to walk towards the gymnasium and the track field. He waved one more time before he had his broad back on you.
You scoffed and grabbed Yuyeon’s hand, yanking her towards the dorms. “Well, making trouble has been more challenging since we are old enough to do trouble,” you exclaimed, jumping a few times to make Yuyeon walk faster. She whined and tried to pull away but your grip tightened and you snickered. “But that doesn’t mean we still can’t go and have fun tonight!”
><
“Let’s do one more round.”
“Hyung,” groaned Sehun tiredly, feeling the sweat dripping down the sides of his face. “Enough.”
“One more.” Byun Baekhyun shook his head once before he took off for another round. “Losers will keep losing!” he shouted with a cheeky, handsome smile, running backwards for a bit to check on Sehun and when he saw the tall male run after him in challenge, he snickered and turned back, dashing off into a sprint.
It’d been like this for almost a year. Baekhyun was always a gym buddy with Sehun but in the past eleven months, Sehun became a small, indirect punching back. Whether it was because he suddenly became a mutual friend with a certain someone or whether it was a punishment for being there that night with her, he didn’t know. He didn’t want to know.
One thing he surely did know was that running helped him ease his mind and relax, maybe make him feel a little bit more numb like he so wished to be.
Getting rid of any intruding thoughts of Lee Nari was difficult. He felt sorry for her, the victim of his job. Fooling around with a young girl was not his plan but he knew he did it for the better good. He tried to persuade himself that he did it for the better good while pushing back the need to search for her and make sure she was doing alright.
As he was nearing the finish line, Sehun caught up with him and they both jogged towards their bags nearby the tracks to freshen up. Sehun was heaving like a parched horse which made Baekhyun chuckle as he reached for two bottles, throwing one to his friend.
“Cheers,” exhaled Sehun harshly and quickly opened the bottle, gulping down the needed liquid.
Baekhyun hummed in reply and waited for his heartbeat to calm down before he would have a sip. “How’s everything?” he decided to ask. “The new semester just started.”
Sehun swallowed and closed the bottle. “It’s just the first week. You know the drill - introductions and boring stuff.”
“Nothing interesting happened then?” Baekhyun was very subtle in hints. Sehun was, thankfully, quick-witted.
“We will have the university festival in May,” he replied with the slightest of smirks on his face. “Siamsa is confirmed to perform.”
Baekhyun wasn’t looking at Sehun and even the information he just heard wasn’t worthy enough to make him pay attention. “Cool. She is an artist after all.” He noticed some girls approaching the track and he felt a small tinge of dissatisfaction. He really liked when the track was only his.
“One of my friends will be the MC. Actually, guess what! Siamsa made a special request. Funny, right? In what universe does a singer of her caliber ask for a mere first year student?”
Baekhyun snapped his head to Sehun. “Why?”
Sehun shrugged. “We don’t know why she wanted her out of everyone... though-“ Sehun pulled a thinking face. “It might have something to do with you.”
Baekhyun sighed, already feeling tired. “I don’t like that one bit. Siamsa is sneaky.”
Sehun nodded. “She didn’t want to do it but her senior kind of ordered her. So I guess she doesn’t have another choice.”
“What kind of senior is that if he makes her do stuff against her will?” huffed Baekhyun, his hands on his hips. “Isn’t he supposed to be there to support her?”
“Well, yeah. He did a lot for her so she feels like she has to do it.” Sehun decided to not share any more than that despite sensing Baekhyun’s questioning stare. He knew Baekhyun wanted to know what that “a lot” meant.
When Baekhyun knew he wouldn’t be getting more out of Sehun, he sighed and tapped his shoulder. “Thanks for telling me.” He moved to grab his bag from the floor when Sehun stopped him.
“Hyung.”
Baekhyun raised his eyebrows in question, waiting.
Sehun opened his mouth but then ended up closing it. Baekhyun was a tough nut to crack. It was obvious he was always interested in Nari’s well-being but him pretending not to do so was frustrating.
“I think-“ he re-started, remembering Nari’s emotionless face when he mentioned Baekhyun earlier that day. He opened his mouth to talk but Baekhyun was faster:
“I think it is better to leave everything up to her, Sehun. She is a smart young woman. If anyone can do well, it is Lee Nari. After all, she is finally able to do everything she was pretending to be doing.”
Sehun snorted a laugh, mockingly rolling his eyes. “And since when did you become so-ugh, respectful about that? Nari is stubborn and doesn't know anything about life.”
“It is none of my concern, Sehun,” replied quietly Baekhyun, looking somewhere off in the distance. “But I know she is stronger than you give her credit for.”
“She might hate you and she might not be over what happened between you two-”
“I locked up her brother,” gritted Baekhyun, “and before that, I wanted to lock her up. What makes you think there is any way for both of us to function normally even if we do meet?”
Sehun sighed. It was difficult to communicate with the both of them. Yes, they were both hurt but goddamn it. Anyone could know they cared for each other.
Baekhyun sensed Sehun's dilemma and so he stepped to the taller male and gave him a curt smile. “Don't push it, Sehun. She will be fine.”
><
Sweat was gradually collecting around your hairline until it turned into one huge tear drop travelling down the side of your face. The text message was as clear as the night sky.
Unknown number
drop it at the 1047 unit
top floor
“It's impossible,” you muttered, feeling yourself becoming nervous. You were standing in front of 1047 and it was definitely not the top floor. It was the first floor, just like the first number indicated.
Gnawing at your bottom lip, you raked your head about possible connections you could contact when you couldn't deliver the boxes as you were supposed to. There was never a responsible person, only an unknown number sending you messages with the quest and a requirement to always be careful (you supposed the carefulness was concerning the boxes). You would receive a confirmation message when the box was in safe hands. That was it. No unnecessary contracts; just you and the job at hand.
You tried calling Chul, you senior. After all, he was the one who fetched you the job but even he wasn't available at that moment.
When you were just about to lose your mind, your phone rang making you almost drop the box. Thank god for your reflexes. “H-hello? Chul?”
“Hey, what's up?” he chirped.
You told him quickly your problem but you weren't expecting his light voice to become more serious. “You can't find the place? Are you sure you are in the right building- shit, the time is almost up. I'll be there right now:”
Heaving out a breath, you checked your wrist watch. The box was supposed to be delivered within fifteen minutes. How would Chul make it in time for you, you weren't sure but you soon found out when you heard his rushing steps, his phone's screen lit up with the exact information you were provided with.
“Hey,” he breathed, taking in your worried gaze as you gave him an apologetic smile.
“Sorry for the fuss.”
He shook his head once, muttering a single “no need” before he took the box out of your arms and put it down in front of the door. Grabbing your hand he started pulling you downstairs. “We gotta get out of here.”
“Huh?” you looked back at the box helplessly, before you couldn't look anymore, instead watching out for your step on the stairs. “Wait - Chul, I need to fulfill the task.”
He shushed you and before you knew it, you were outside in the chilly air. Dragging you a few more metres, he heard an approaching car's engine and he was fast to push you into a small alley that was barely lit by any street lamps.
“Chul-” you started, frowning. You didn't like him manhandling you like that.
“Do you trust me?” he whispered as he made you press your back against the wall.
“Yeah,” you breathed, eager to hear any information he could provide you with to explain what the hell was going on.
To your utter horror, a police car drove by, but you weren't terrified about why the police car was there. You were terrified about a certain someone sitting in that car and you possibly having to face that certain someone. Just the thought of having to see his shocked or disappointed face yet again made you inwardly whimper.
When the car was far enough, Chul turned to you. “You are doing a great job, you really are. But you mustn't, by any means, get caught by the police while doing deliveries. Got it?”
Feeling your heart thumping loudly from the adrenaline, you nodded. “What about the box then?”
Chul cursed when he looked at his phone. “Three minutes left. Go in and check the box. If it's still there, take it to the top floor as per request. Sometimes they give misleading information to you in case your phone gets stolen. Next time, make sure to double-check all the information they give you, okay?”
You were nodding eagerly and already started walking back to the small apartment building.
“I have to go but write to me if the mission is successful. Now go, quickly,” he said and without waiting, took off into the opposite direction.
Due to the stress, you didn't even stop to think about the weirdness of the situation. Rushing back in, you went to the first floor where you left the box. You were rendered motionless when the box was no longer there.
Someone took it.
Feeling fear creeping into your system, you took out your phone to call Chul just when you received a confirmation message.
Unknown number
the box has been successfully delivered

PART 3
“Y/N!”
You heard the twins’ cheery voices from across the hall. You looked up to see their grinning faces, completely unbothered by the fact that they got themselves two weeks worth of detention with Umbridge. Fred and George happily made their way over to the bench where you sat by yourself.
“Hello, boys,” You smiled, eyes darting to the red scars on the top of their hands. “What happened to you two?”
“Umbridge.” They grunted, wincing in pain as their open scars oozed small droplets of blood. “She’s brutal.”
“Well, now I feel horrible.” You frowned, examining their hands. “I should be going through this with you.”
“Nonsense.” Fred hushed.
“Our job is to make you smile.” George stated. “Bringing you down with us is quite the opposite of that.”
“Your job?” You questioned, confused by their choice of words. “I appreciate the sentiment but I don’t think my happiness should be your job. You two should be taking care of yourselves.”
“Yeah but we never break a promise.”
A puzzled look took over your face, unsure of what they were talking about. Before you could ask them about it, they said their goodbyes and left you alone once again. You sighed, returning to the comfort of your book. The whispers haven’t stopped. In fact, they haven’t slowed down from the time you’ve arrived at Hogwarts. Granted that it's only been a day, but you would think that Wizards and Witches would find comfort in other things rather than the loneliness of a half-blood Hufflepuff.
You continued to ignore their words and their constant need to tiptoe around you. They feared you. It was like they were afraid of you now that you were alone. Cedric always was the more popular one. Outgoing by nature and easy on the eyes. You remembered the attention he got once he was chosen to be a champion and the envious eyes of every girl who saw you beside him at all times. Envious eyes followed you as you entered the Yule Ball with him, hand in hand, with an irreplaceable smile etched on your face.
You never once thought that you’d miss those envious eyes but right now, you’d much rather take those over their eyes of pity.
You closed your book, stuffing it in your book bag, before getting up to wander around the castle. Although you’ve attended Hogwarts for years, you seemed to not know your way around. You always relied on Cedric to take you from one place to another, never once imagining that there’d be a day where he wouldn’t be two steps ahead of you.
You heard a soft humming coming from the girls’ lavatory, one that you didn’t even know existed. You followed the voice, ignoring the signs saying that it was out of order. You peeked around and saw a ghost, a girl, twirling in the air all by herself. Had it been any other day, you would’ve ran away in fear that you’ve angered the ghost, but something about her pigtails and sweet voice assured you that you’d be alright.
The lavatory was empty, hollow almost. It was unused and not cared for in the slightest.. Had it not been for the ghost, it would’ve been deprived of any sign of life. The air was chilly, a lot colder than the halls that led up to it. And it was so quiet. The silence was eerie. You could no longer hear the chatter from students just a few meters away. It was like the sounds bounced off the walls.
“Hello,” You greeted, stepping out from behind the wall. “That’s a lovely tune.”
She turned around, stunned, but it subsided once she took a look at you. “Why, hello there. Thank you, a friend of mine taught me the song. What brings you here?”
“Just wandering,” You shrugged. You motioned to the empty lavatory. “May I join you?”
“Of course,” She smiled, floating down towards you. “Are you wandering because you’re lonely?”
You blinked a few times, taken back by her question. You pondered for a moment, deciding if you should lie to her as you’ve been lying to everyone else who asked you about your well-being. You decided not to lie, not really seeing any consequences of being truthful to a ghost. “Yes, how did you know?”
“A lot of lonely souls find their way to me.” She responded nonchalantly. “My name is Myrtle.”
“Nice to meet you.” You nodded, realizing that she was the ghost everyone mentioned. You didn’t think that the rumors were true, but now that you’ve met her, you didn’t mind it. “My name is Y/N.”
Myrtle grinned, eyes lighting up at your name. “Y/N Y/L/N?”
You furrowed your eyebrows, confused, but nodded anyway. How did she know who you were? “Yes, that’s me.”
Her bubbly laugh filled the silence of the room. She twirled in the air, excitement evident in her actions. “You’re Cedric’s friend!”
“You know Cedric?”
“We met once.”
“May I ask how?”
She giggled like a schoolgirl, blushing behind the hand she used to cover her mouth. “I helped him with the golden egg.”
Your voice faltered. “I see.”
“Oh my,” She frowned. “I seem to have forgotten. I apologize.”
“It’s quite alright, Myrtle.” You gulped, blinking back tears.
“Hmm,” Myrtle mumbled. “He talked about you the entire time. By the end of it all, I became so excited to meet you. I made him promise that he’d let me meet you if I helped him figure out the clue.”
You smiled a bit at her confession, knowing that Cedric would’ve taken you to meet her if fate hadn’t taken him so soon. “I’m sorry that he’s broken his promise.”
“You seemed to find your way here anyway.”
-
You sat beside Hermione at the Gryffindor table, trying to focus on their smiles rather than the jabber around you: “She’s a Hufflepuff, why is she sitting here?” “I guess that’s what happens when you’ve only got one friend.” “Poor girl. She lost Cedric and now she’s as lost as ever.”
It’s been a few weeks since your arrival at Hogwarts and you were starting to find your ground again. You started hanging out with the Trio more often, as well as continuing your adventures with the Twins. You’ve slowly started to learn how to live again. The other students, however, have not. It only made it worse that the only friends you did have were from a different house.
Hermione grasped your hand and gave it a little squeeze in appreciation, “I’m glad you’re sitting with us. I was getting scared that you preferred the twins.”
You smiled, “I could never replace you, Hermione.” You motioned towards Harry and Ron, who were gulping down food before they even chewed it, from across the table. “They, however, can be replaced.”
Ron looked up at your words, eyes narrowing, “Hey, that’s not nice.”
“Don’t worry, Ron,” Harry nudged him, not looking up from his pile of food. “She knows she loves us.”
“Sure, Potter. Whatever helps you sleep at night.”
Hermione couldn’t help but giggle at your silly banter, happy that you're slowly reverting back to your old self. She knew that you’ll never truly be who you once were but the way that you smile at little comments and laugh at stupid jokes makes her feel a bit hopeful. The boys were also relieved to see you sitting with them again. They knew that you left to be by yourself when you first arrived at Hogwarts and they decided that it would be best to leave you alone. They didn’t want to push you or pressure you to hang out with them but in all honesty, they missed you. They missed you terribly.
You continued to talk about nothing for a few minutes before a package landed in front of you. You looked down at it, inspecting the address, and the wrapping parchment. The trio stared at you, urging you to open the it. You obliged and started to rip apart the parchment. Your heart sunk as you saw a familiar yellow fabric under a note from your aunt.
It read: “You forgot this and I saw it in your closet when I was cleaning out your room. I saw it was a bit dirty so I took the liberty of putting it in the wash for you. We love you and we miss you.”
You moved the note aside, taking in a sharp breath when your fingers touched the sweater. You saw that the stain where Cedric’s blood once was, was faded, leaving an ugly orange mark where his initials were embroidered. Your hands shook as you lifted it up to place near your chest. You didn’t realize that she would be going through your things. You weren’t expecting this to show up in front of you.
As you choked on your sobs, you heard the whispers start up again, but this time they were all jumbled. You didn’t care enough to say anything. You got up, sweater in your hand, and ran out. You heard Ron call out for you, silverware clattering as he tried to follow, but Hermione placed a gentle hand on his arm, reminding him that you process grief differently. You ran towards the path to the secret passageway, shoving past everyone who stood in your way. Once you got there, you froze upon seeing people standing near it. You didn’t want to risk anyone else knowing about it.
Sighing, you made your way to another part of the castle that you’ve grown fond of. As you climbed up the steps, you stared down at the sweater in your arms. It was pathetic how something so small could have such an effect on you. You were aware that death is something of the inevitable. But maybe it was your muggle side that never understood it, how everyone managed to recover from death so quickly. Even Harry who didn’t even know about the Wizard world seemed to recover so fast. You never understood it.
As you neared the astronomy tower, you heard a familiar tune. Someone was there, humming something that you swore you’ve heard before. You looked inside and saw Draco leaning against the railing, staring off into the distance. His robe was swaying in the wind, his fingers tapping against the metal following the rhythm of the tune he was humming.
His expression was unreadable. His eyes were stone cold and his jaw was set. He clenched it ever so slightly. Draco closed his eyes for a moment, exhaling through his nose. He looked almost peaceful up there. The murmur of his chest, the rustling of the winds in the distance, and the soft creaking of the steps were the only things heard.
“Who’s there?”
You flinched, not knowing what excuse you would have to say as to why you spent a good few minutes staring at him in admiration. Mustering up the courage to speak, you revealed yourself to Draco, hiding the sweater behind your back. “Sorry, I didn’t think anyone would be here.”
“What are you doing here?” He asked, not fully turning his body to face you.
“I’m assuming the same as you.” You shrugged, taking his question as an invitation to join him. “Needed to get away.”
“This place is occupied, Hufflepuff.” Draco noted, annoyance laced in his voice. “Find your own place.”
You ignored his comment, planting yourself beside him. He moved a few steps away, irritated by your stubbornness to stay. “I suppose I haven’t said my proper thanks for letting me off the hook with Umbridge that one night.”
“I don’t need your thanks.” He commented, now facing you. His eyes were a bit glossy and his voice was scratchy. It seemed like he’d been crying. “But I do need you to see yourself out.”
Again you ignored him, staring him straight in the eye. “What tune were you humming? It sounded familiar.”
“Y/N.” He said, more sternly this time. “Leave.”
“No.”
Draco sighed, running his fingers through his hair. You noticed that the ring was no longer on his finger. In fact, the only indication that he was a Slytherin was his robe, which was unusual for him. He often liked to wear his house pride in every way possible. You found it quite obnoxious at times.
“Fine,” He finally settled, stepping away from the railings and towards the steps to exit. “Then I’ll leave.”
Before he could take his first step down, you spoke up. “Why didn’t you tell Umbridge about me?”
He paused, hand gripping the sides of the staircase. You heard him gulp. “Don’t question it. It’s annoying.”
“But I want to know.”
“Don’t make me change my mind. I’ll march over to Umbridge right now and tell her that I saw you that night.” Draco turned around, almost spitting his words out.
“Sorry. Nevermind, then.” You cowered a bit, not expecting his harsh tone. You looked down at your feet, embarrassed that a simple change in his tone already made you seem weaker. When you looked back up to look at Draco, you could’ve swore that his face softened for a minute. You stared at him turn back around to leave.
Just as you faced the railings, once again, Draco’s voice echoed across the room. “My mother used to sing that song to me when I was a child.”
“Huh?”
“The song I was humming.” He clarified, head poking out from beyond the steps spiraling down. “My mother used to sing it to me.”

Hello, sweety! I don't know if you're currently taking up request or not (please don't mind this ask if you're not doing it right now ^^). I'm a teacher and seeing how Mitsuhide teaches MC in his route, may I request you for a HC of Mitsuhide finds out that his MC is a teacher as well in her future life? I really want to know how he would react on that. Thank you for visiting my blog beforehand and hoping you a wonderful upcoming weekend! ✨🍀
Hellooooo dear 😍😍♥️♥️, thank you very much for this interesting request 🥰💗! I am also aspiring to become a teacher in few years so I am very glad to meet you😍😍! And I would like to say that you are an amazing artist👏🙌! I hope you also have a great weekend💃🌹! So, here we go😉~
Ikesen Headcanon⚔💗
Mitsuhide reacting to a MC being a Teacher👩🏫:
You loved teaching children😍❤ but you ended up in the sengoku era while travelling to Kyoto on a school trip with your students & other teachers leaving a very good life in the modern era😩 & accidentally saved Nobunaga's life to your surprise & Mitsuhide took a special interest in you👀 & his mind-reading skills used to freak you out😨.
You were honestly terrified after stepping on the battlefield for the first time in your life😱 when you have been always surrounded by the laughter & twinkling eyes of children and you were missing it terribly😭, to top it all, the shock of seeing a man die infront of your eyes was too overwhelming, so you fell unconscious😵 & Mitsuhide carried you back in Azuchi Castle.
"Starting from tomorrow, I will be your teacher, little mouse, for the subject matters, I think, tactics, equestrianism, self defense, firearms seems a good start😏!", said Mitsuhide with a huge smirk on his face.
"I hope you will be a good pupil, little mouse🐭!", said Mitsuhide as he stood and gave you a head-pat.
"Pffffttttt, I am waiting for that moment", you murmured, chuckling to yourself🤭.
"Did you say something?", asked Mitsuhide turning back to look at her.
"I am looking forward for tomorrow, Mitsuhide-sensei, goodnight😅!", she straighten up with a slight bow. Mitsuhide smiled at her🙂 and goes outside the room.
"His smile creeps me out, well, nevermind. I am excited to see the surprise on his face tomorrow😁", she let out a huge grin.
"Before starting up on the actual studies, I would like to test your knowledge base, here is your questions sheet, fill it up, little mouse📝!", said Mitsuhide as he gave her the question paper with a smirk on his face😏.
You took it, pretending to be afraid of the test making him amused, "Go on, little mouse, it's not that difficult, I assure you!", he said with a amused grin on his face😄. As you look down at the questions on Japanese literature, history & general knowledge, on the inside, you were so happy 💃while on the outside, you kept a face of a child who is horrified at the thought of giving an exam😱.
You submitted your answer sheet to him and as Mitsuhide scanned it, his eyes went wide with shock😲, he was NOT expecting this at all. You honestly wished that you have a camera 📷 to capture his expression which was so funny to say the least. Each & every answer was correct💯.
"How😳?", it's the only word that came out his mouth. You couldn't control anymore & burst out laughing loudly🤣. "Because I am also a teacher, Mitsuhide👩🏫", you said with a proud look on your face. "What😳?", he was left speechless once again which only made it harder for you to control your laughter.
"You really surprised me there, little mouse😅!", Mitsuhide laughs along with you to hide his flustered expression. "So, what do you teach🤔?", he asked, curious to know about you.
"Let's see, I mainly teach japanese literature & history, apart from it, I am well versed in general knowledge, english literature, I love art, psychology, etc, so if any child wants to learn it, I teach these skills to them as well with full excitement as being around them & seeing them grow in their lives makes me so happy🤩❤!", you said with a biggest smile on your face🥰 & eyes shining with happiness since you came to this era👀✨. Mitsuhide was, to be very honest, awestruck seeing your genuine happiness☺️.
As much as Mitsuhide didn't want to interrupt you, but he grew suspicious of your origin as being this educated in this era was surprisingly rare especially in something like english literature🤔. "Who are you & where are you from, mysterious little mouse? Tell me all your secrets, little one", he asked, narrowing his gaze at you👀.
You froze for a moment😳 as you knew very well that you have raised his suspicions when you were rambling non-stop😬 & you couldn't lie or else you will be in huge trouble😓. "Why should I tell you when you are also a potential "traitor" in Oda forces infront of everyone, hm?", you asked jokingly trying to avoid the question😅. "Little mouse, I am used to prying out the secrets and I would not prefer to use the same techniques on you", he said with a frown on his face🤨 unknown to him but you noticed the discomfort in his expression & sighed.
So you showed him your purse👜 and told him everything about yourself as Mitsuhide listened patiently. "So our little mouse came from 500 years in the future, it's hard to believe but you have proof with yourself, now I can see the reason how you are so innocent & untouched by the realities of this time", said Mitsuhide with a amused smirk😏.
"I have only told you the truth, rest is up to you to believe in me", you said with a pout☹.
"Don't pout, I believe in you, little one, as you have been a very nice girl, I will treat you with tea & sweets🍵🍡 as a reward, little mouse", Mitsuhide said caressing your cheek with his thumb😏. You honestly couldn't stop yourself from smiling after hearing the offer😍.
Mitsuhide was overcome with affection for her as she believed in him as a person despite having her doubts and confided in him with everything, he made a secret vow to himself to protect her from everything❤.
You both went to the teahouse together & suddenly Kyubei called Mitsuhide for giving some urgent information. Mitsuhide excused himself for a moment while you were happily eating your sweets😍, but then, you heard some men were talking bad things about him behind his back & you couldn't stand seeing & listening something wrong so you strongly defended him infront of them😡, not caring for the fact that you had no weapons on yourself, one of the men tried to hit you but Mitsuhide arrived in time to rescue you from them😎.
So this started the strong feeling of love in heart of Mitsuhide towards you😍💓💞 as nobody has ever done something like this for him, he was so impressed by the fact that you strongly stood for your values proving your strength of sense of justice as a teacher & a good person by heart☺️💯.
He continued training you in survival skills like self defense, horseriding, shooting as you were already were well-versed in theory. In exchange, you would definitely teach him english literature & tell him about many fascinating things about the human mind & everything you know about future along with many other things😍, you both loved spending time with each other and always look forward to such meetings everyday.
Once, you were well trained in these skills, you gave your gratitude towards your "teacher" Mitsuhide by gifting him a very beautiful portrait✍❤ of him playing with his pet fox, Chimaki🦊. He couldn't resist hugging you tightly the moment, he laid his eyes on it🤗💗. You yourself was the biggest & the most precious gift for him in his life but your gift made him the most happiest person💓😢, he would definitely try to hide his happiness with a amused smirk & headpat but you can see through his facade that he is genuinely happy🥰. He would definitely put the portrait in such a place where everyone could see his little mouse's amazing skills😎😏.
After facing many difficulties together, you both confessed your feelings towards each other💐 and you both were a lovely couple infront of everyone😍👫💗.
You would both use knowledge of english as a medium for infiltration as spies together in other territories🧐. Surprisingly, a language, i.e., english, became a special kind of exchange & secret code between you☺️ and Mitsuhide😏 as you both would often converse in english infront of other warlords much to their surprise & confusion🙄😳🤔.
As you were always willing to stay by his side, he used to take you along to infiltrate certain places, your skill of art would definitely come as a big help for Mitsuhide💯, as you could easily draw the suspects making his workload way more easier than it was before✍😌.
In exchange, Mitsuhide would always make sure that you were not uncomfortable in such investigation trips, he would always give you tips in dancing, singing, acting, etc 🤗 and also expect loads of teasings while he is at it, fufufufu😘.
You both being the best teachers around in Azuchi would definitely use this opportunity to teach as many children as possible who don't have access to proper education without asking for anything in return as you both did it for your own self-satisfaction & happiness in your free times💛. Mitsuhide generally taught the skills of self defense🤼♂️, weaponry🔫, etc while you would educate the kids in literatures, general knowledge & art👩🏫. Children would also always look forward to meeting both of you everyday🥰❤🤗. It became one of your most favourite & productive ways to spend time with each other❤. Children also ships you both together, mind you👀❤🤭!
Mitsuhide loved the way your eyes sparkles with happiness👀✨ whenever you are around the children🥰😘❤ and can't help falling more deeply in love with you😍💓.
He would always praise you infront of everyone, everytime he gets a chance😏. Cue warlords- We know that already, Mitsuhide, you just told us🤦♂️. Mitsuhide: Hooooh~But not that...😏 endless praise begins & he shuts up only when you take him outside the council room dying of embarrasment😳🙈🤦♀️ to which he only laughs loudly🤣😏.
Mitsuhide would often call you "my brilliant little mouse💯🐭!", as his way of showing affection towards you💗😏. Cue you blushing deep shade of red tomato and running away from him😳🙈🍅.
Extra~
"You really love her, huh?", asked Hideyoshi as he was walking down the hallways😆. "Obviously, I love her with all my heart💗, she is the brightest star of my life🌟!", said Mitsuhide, his eyes filled with love and a beautiful smile on his face.
"Was that a genuine smile on your face, Mitsuhide?!", exclaimed Hideyoshi, shocked😲.
"My, My, Hideyoshi, I don't have any idea what you are talking about😏", said Mitsuhide as he realised that his facade broke their for a moment out of his love for you. Hideyoshi *eye twitch* : whatever🙄!
Mitsuhide then went looking for you to tease and shower you with all his love & affection❤😏.
Hope, you all enjoyed it❤😍🤗. Comments are appreciated😇!

Reckless Good (1/?)
Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia/My Hero Academia
Fic Rating: Explicit
Chapter Rating: Teen+
Pairing: Todoroki Shouto/Midoriya Izuku
Note: Part of the @tododekubigbang for 2021! I'm super excited to share this AU with everyone. And please check out the awesome compaion art from @cryptidcatgod for chapter six!
Todoroki Shouto had accepted his fate as a public figure when he became a pro-hero, but there are some parts of his private life he would like to stay private. When he gets invited to be a speaker in a college lecture series, he goes to the meeting with one goal: to give the coordinator a piece of his mind and finally put an end to people hounding him for information about his family.
The last thing he expects is the curious, and quirkless, hero- and quirk-study professor, Midoriya Izuku, who has no interest in his family's history, and, somehow, even more ties to the hero industry than Shouto. Intrigued by the professor, Shouto tentatively agrees to the lecture series, unknowingly intertwining their futures.
But the more Todoroki sees of Midoriya, the more questions he has. When a villain attack leaves them living together until the culprits are apprehended, maybe he'll finally get some answers.

Dear Pro-Hero Entropy,
On behalf of Musutafu University, I would like to cordially invite you to be a speaker in our first annual Hero Talks series. We anticipate university students, as well as members of the public from all walks of life, will be interested in hearing from 10 different pro-heroes, over the course of ten-weeks between September and November, as they discuss their experience in the hero industry, the details of their jobs, and the unique quirks they’ve encountered or that helped them in becoming the heroes of today.
I would be extremely grateful if you were willing to share your expertise and be a part of the series. You would be an excellent addition to our program, and our line-up of great heroes that already includes current number one, Pro-Hero Lemillion, the Permeation Hero, and the well-respected, Youthful Heroine Recovery Girl.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!

“I think you should do it.”
Shouto pauses with his cup half-way to his mouth as the silence that had fallen over them is finally broken. Momo primly takes a sip of her tea, pointedly avoiding his astonished look.
“…What?”
Momo clears her throat, placing her teacup back on the table and sitting up, somehow, straighter in her chair. Despite the fact that they are in her home, she looks decidedly more uncomfortable than he feels, even by the bizarre direction of their conversation. “I think you should do it. I think it would be a good opportunity for you, Shouto.”
“Have you met me?” he asks incredulously. “There’s nothing ‘good’ about anything that includes me and talking.”
His phone, with the offending email still pulled up on the darkening screen, sits on the table between them. He doesn’t realize he is glaring at it until Momo plucks it up and away from his line of sight. Waking up the screen, she reads over the email again. He doesn’t know why she bothers – they must have poured over it together at least three or four times when he first arrived, dumbfounded by yet another invitation and nearly laughing over the ridiculous concept of him giving a talk on a college campus.
“It’s not like you would have to wing it, it’s still only April now, so the series won’t be taking place until the second term. You would have time to come up with a topic, write a speech, prepare.”
“No one wants to listen to me read from a piece of paper for an hour,” he replies drolly. “And I don’t have anything to talk about that long, anyways.”
It is her turn to stare at him incredulously from across the table. He resists the urge to squirm under the disbelieving look. Finally, Momo sighs, returning his phone to the table.
“I think you underestimate what people would be willing to listen to,” she clears her throat. “You have a unique perspective on the hero industry that very few have, or get to hear about-”
“Because my dad was a dick?”
“Due to being raised by a hero," she continues on, as if he hadn't spoken. "And not just any hero, but someone who was the number two hero for a very long time, and even briefly the number one hero. Very few heroes nowadays have children, and even fewer have children who go on to follow in their footsteps. You’re a legacy.”
“I’m the only one of any of Endeavor’s kids to become a hero. If they wanted to hear about hero family legacies, they should have contacted Iida.”
Momo sighs, rubbing her temples. He’s noticed her doing that around him with increasing frequency these days. “Well I believe they did, actually. And he agreed.”
Shouto leans back in his seat. “Then he can talk all about being a legacy. What would they need to hear from me for?”
Momo is quiet for a very long time. “…Well-”
“No.”
“You brought it up.”
“Not seriously. I’m not going to talk about that.”
“It was just a suggestion. You, your family, have kept things remarkably quiet after it all went down, and I understand wanting to protect your privacy, considering it really is none of their business, but people are always going to have questions. It’s been years since the trial and the media still asks you every year. At least this way, if you talked about it, you could control the narrative.”
Shouto looks away. The setting sun is just out of sight from the dining room window, but it paints the neighbor’s house and the trees along the road a warm orange. The anniversary of the trial, of his father’s fall from grace in the public eye was just a few weeks away, still looming over him, even years after the fact. He has no interest in ‘controlling the narrative.’ He’d rather not think about it at all, actually. But just like every year before, as the date grew closer, the media got more frantic, more invasive.
You would think after more than ten years of radio silence from the Todoroki family they would finally get discouraged, and yet…
Sensing he wasn’t interested in pursuing this topic of conversation any longer, Momo changes tactics, carefully pulling his thoughts from a dangerous spiral. “Or you could have a meeting with the person who invited you. See what topic they had in mind for you.”
Shouto glances at her. “What are you talking about?”
“Well they didn’t just mass invite heroes, the invitations have only gone out to a select few. I’m assuming the coordinator had some idea of what they thought those particular heroes would talk about.” There is a quiet click of her nails against the glass table top as she picks up his phone once more. “You could set up a meeting with him and see what he had in mind. If the topic is something you’re comfortable talking about, wonderful. If not, you can decline the invitation, and all you’ve wasted is an afternoon.”
Something clicks in his head and Shouto sits up again, an idea brewing. He turns his attention back to her. “I still don’t want to give a talk,”
“Shouto-”
“But you have a point. It wouldn’t hurt to ask.”
Momo smiles, but her brows shoot up, a clear indication of her surprise at – and her suspicion over – his quick surrender. “I’m…a little shocked you agree.”
“Well you’d just keep bothering me about it if I didn’t at least talk to him, wouldn’t you?” She glares at him but doesn’t refute the accusation. “But isn’t it just the dean of the school that sent the emails? He’s probably not the sole coordinator.”
“No,” She shakes her head, handing his phone back over. “It says here he’s a professor.”
Midoriya Izuku, Ph.D.
Professor of Hero and Quirk Studies
Musutafu University
X
It takes two days after his talk with Momo for Shouto to get around to even opening the professor’s response to his request for a meeting.
Kyouka watches him suspiciously from where she’s draped over his office chair as he paces in front of his desk. “What’s wrong with you?”
She takes an obnoxious sip of her coffee. The smell has permeated the entire room and it makes something in his stomach curl with longing, but his doctor made it explicitly clear that he was to take an extended break from the drink after letting it serve as breakfast, lunch, and dinner a few too many days in a row. Something more painful than longing – perhaps an ulcer he may or may not have given himself from his liquid diet – twists his stomach.
“Why are you even here?”
Kyouka sighs at his question, her head lolling back as she sinks deeper into the chair. He’s not totally sure what she’s doing. He knows for a fact those chairs aren’t comfortable. His best attempt to keep people from staying in his office longer than absolutely necessary.
“Kyouka?”
She takes another sip of her coffee. He has absolutely no idea how she doesn’t spill it all over herself in that position.
“Momo asked me to talk to you.”
He stops pacing long enough to determine that she’s telling the truth. “…Why?”
“Because she doesn’t think you’ve emailed the professor back about that hero series yet.”
He glances at his computer. At the unread email blinking at the top of his inbox, taunting him. “I’m not saying she’s right…but why does she want you to talk to me about it?”
She swings her legs off the arm of the chair to sit up right and glare at him. “I resent the insinuation that I am not a great candidate for making you get your shit together. But,” she stands up, dropping her cup onto his desk and crossing her arms. Her expression is fierce, but he recognizes the barely-there flush high on her cheeks and the nervous twitch of her earphone jacks. “I was also invited to be a part of the series.”
Shouto stops, sinking into his desk chair. Invitations like this were usually a pain for him. For one, he hated public speaking – or even extended conversations. As one of the top students at U.A., however, and as the son of a well-known hero, he had been getting requests for talks and interviews and special features for years. Most of which he usually ignored, knowing what it was they wanted him to talk about. But he knows an invitation like this can be special. Especially for someone like Kyouka, who doesn’t have particularly strong connections with the hero industry, even after graduating U.A. Her parents’ reputation and her internship with Present Mic made her more of a celebrity in the music industry than a well-known hero, despite all the great work she did.
“Kyouka,” he says quietly, earnestly, so that she pays attention to him. “Congratulations.”
“Thank you,” she replies with a small smile, before her expression changes again. “But shut up, Todoroki. That’s not the point. Momo thinks you’ll be dragging your feet over getting back to the professor. But when she told me about how quickly you agreed, I got a feeling there was something else going on.” She braces her hands on his desk and leans into his personal space, jacks floating threateningly close to his throat. “You were gonna set up that meeting, and then just give him a hard time, weren’t you?”
Shouto freezes, caught. “Uh…”
It’s not exactly an admission, but Kyouka throws her head back and laughs, anyways. “I knew it. We’ve all been waiting for when you finally got fed up and picked a victim. I’m honestly surprised it’s taken this long.”
Shouto doesn’t mean for the quiet, astonished chuckle to slip out, but he supposes if it’s Kyouka, it’s alright. There’s a devilish glint in her eyes as she drops back into her chair.
“So,” she asks. “What are you waiting for?”
“You’re really not going to stop me?”
“We’re public figures, the media has never been interested in respecting our privacy, but we’ve all spent years watching you get hounded over your parents’ divorce and your father’s trial. If this is just another asshole trying to get a scoop, or recognition for finally getting you to spill, he deserves it. Everyone would agree. Well…Tenya and Momo might frown at your approach, but I still think they’d support the general idea. And well,” she shrugs. “If he is just an asshole, all the better for the rest of us to know now so we don’t support what he’s trying to do.”
He hesitates, mouse hovering over the professor’s email. “Are you sure?”
She scowls, though there isn’t any heat behind it. “If I wasn’t sure I wouldn’t say it.” She comes around the desk to stand behind him. “Now hurry up, I have a patrol to get to.”
Reaching down, she opens the email before he can react.
Thank you so much for your interest! Of course we can meet to discuss the details of the series more. Below are my office hours when I will be on the Musutafu University campus. If you are not available for any of those times, please let me know when would work best for you and we can plan a meeting then.
Kyouka leans over his shoulder to read the email.
“Tuesday’s your day off next week, right?”
Shouto rolls his eyes but opens a new draft to reply.
Kyouka grins. “Good boy. I will report your excellent behavior to Momo.” She ruffles his hair before heading for the door, grabbing her coffee cup off his desk as she goes.
“Fuck off.”
She tosses her head back and laughs again. “Give ‘em hell.”
X
They make plans to meet in a few days, when Shouto has some time off, and the professor forwards his office room number and three different maps of campus “just in case.” Which Shouto found ridiculous….at the time.
Now he’s here, and has been wandering around for God knows how long. It takes approximately ten minutes for Shouto to admit he’s lost, and another five minutes for him to get frustrated over still being lost. He wasn’t sure what to expect of the university campus, but, clearly, he did not prepare enough in advance. The large, sprawling buildings remind him of U.A.’s campus, but rather than extra training grounds, the spaces between are grassy plots filled with students relaxing under the shade of trees or soaking up the sun on blankets. Instead of practicing hand-to-hand, the students sit in clusters pouring over textbooks or typing away on laptops. And they, of course, all appear perfectly at home amongst the labyrinth of lecture halls.
The paved plaza in the middle of all the activity hosts a large fountain and a statue of a man with large, curling horns coming from his temples that Shouto assumes has some kind of importance to the school, but that he doesn’t recognize.
He forwent his hero-suit for jeans, a button-up, and a leather jacket – in addition to sunglasses, a mask, and a baseball cap. The clothing seemed to blend in well enough with the other students, if not a tad understated, but his distinct hair and scar are not so easily hidden and soon enough he notices students staring, following his movements back and forth across campus or whispering amongst themselves.
Eventually, a few brave students manage to catch him as he is trying to reorient himself. Again.
“Um, excuse me, are you pro-hero Entropy?” a girl asks. Two friends flank her, staring with wide eyes.
Caught, he pulls down his mask. “Ah, yes. Hello.”
“Oh my gosh! Hi-Hello, I’m wow…I’m sorry to bother you, but it’s really great to meet you!”
“Are you here about the Hero Talks series!?” one of her friends asks suddenly, quickly slapping a hand over her mouth after the loud outburst.
Well…they aren’t wrong, and maybe they can help him. “It’s…something like that.” He agrees carefully.
The three light up with smiles, two of them jumping up and down in excitement.
“Dr. Midoriya is going to be so excited, oh my gosh!”
“You know the professor?”
All three nod excitedly. “We’re all in his Intro to Combat Analysis lecture! He’s been gushing about this series since he got permission last semester!” the third student finally chimes in.
Perfect. “Do you know where I could find his office? I’m supposed to be meeting with him, but I’ve gotten a little turned around.”
The three jump to help direct him to the right building, gushing all the while over the professor and his classes. By the time they finally part ways, Shouto feels a little guilty about his plan to give the professor a piece of his mind over the whole thing and misleading them about his intention to join the series. They were nice girls after all.
Someone bumps into him before he reaches the building, sending him stumbling off the sidewalk.
“I’m so sorry,” a bright voice calls, gently pulling Shouto back onto the pavement. “I wasn’t watching where I was going. Are you alright?”
Large, bright green eyes behind thin, wire-framed glasses give him a quick once-over, as if looking for injuries. The man meets his gaze through his sunglasses for a moment before glancing down at his wrist watch again. Somehow, he feels even more dazed meeting the man’s eyes than simply being booted off the sidewalk.
“…yes I’m fine, thank you.”
The man gives him a dazzling smile, flashing one dimple and further accentuating the smattering of freckles over his cheeks. “Good, good. Sorry again.” With a quick bow, the man is on his way again and headed into the building before them. The same building Shouto was headed.
Shaking off the strange feeling left behind, he waits a few moments, so as not to appear as if he was following the bright-eyed man, and goes inside. Along the wall there are signs directing visitors to particular room numbers or restrooms, and a bulletin board nearly as long as the wall is tall, full of posters advertising events happening around campus, and Musutafu, as well as ads looking for roommates or a reminder about signing up for a study abroad program. Right in the corner, as if attached as an after-thought, or a secret, there’s a small, handwritten flyer declaring the First Annual Hero Talks series could be counted as credits for Quirk or Hero Study students looking for an independent study if they met with Dr. Mirdoriya before the end of the term. Shouto almost takes the flyer before he realizes, realistically, that the students who might be interested in such a thing would probably benefit from it more than his brief curiosity needed to be sated.
Turning from the wall, he sets out for the stairs. The students instructed him to take the staircase on the far end of the east hall (the closest to the professor’s office, supposedly), to the third floor, where the professor’s office would be the third door on the left.
Midoriya Izuku is written clearly on a small sign hanging outside of the office. A small box sits under it, stuffed full of papers and folders that Shouto assumes are from students. The professor’s half-open door is covered in colorful posters and stickers – including, Shouto realizes, another copy of the flyer about the series and a poster of him, Pro-Hero Entropy, from his debut year. He looks away from his younger self and knocks on the door.
“Dr. Midoriya?” he calls, poking his head into the office.
The first thing he notices is that the hero-memorabilia on the door has absolutely nothing on what’s inside the office. More posters cover the entire front of the professor’s desk, and from the looks of it the top of his computer. Mixed between dozens of books on the shelves and filing cabinets filling two of the four walls are hero-figurines and framed pictures of heroes or preserved comic books. Even more posters and framed pictures cover the rest of the walls.
The second thing he notices, is that the broad-shouldered man dropping a beat-up, leather satchel to the ground besides the desk, is the same man who ran into him outside.
Dr. Midoriya whirls around, greeting him with another 100-watt smile. “Ah yes! Hello- oh! It’s you.”
“Ah, yes.” Shouto shuffles a little further into the office, he pulls his mask down under his chin and takes his sunglasses off, tucking them into the collar of his shirt. After a second's thought, he pulls off his cap as well, shoving the bill into his back pocket.
Dr. Midoriya’s jaw drops, his eyes comically wide, for approximately three seconds, before he comes back into himself, steeling his expression. His hands flutter nervously around his head for a moment and then he smiles again.
“Entropy! Welcome! I’m so sorry I did not recognize you before. Please, come in. Take a seat. Did you find your way through campus alright?”
Shouto gives a small bow, mumbling a thank you, as he comes further into the office to sit in one of the two small chairs before the desk. A poster of some of his old classmates is hung at knee-level, and even on paper, Momo's serious expression is judging him. Kyouka is egging him on.
Dr. Midoriya still stands behind his desk, staring at Shouto like he’s not sure what to make of him sitting in his office.
“Uh…Dr. Midoriya?”
The professor snaps back to life. “Yes! Sorry, sorry,” he sits down finally, pulling off his glasses and putting them to the side. “Welcome, again, to Musutafu University. And thank you for taking some time out of your busy schedule to consider our series! I really can’t tell you how thrilled I was to get your email.”
Shouto shifts in his seat. The professor talks with his hands, and every movement seems to pull the beige-colored cardigan he’s wearing even tighter around his biceps. Shouto isn’t usually one to speculate about others’ quirks unless in a fight, but he wonders now if the professor has some kind of strength-augmenting quirk – and if he does, how adept is he at using it if Shouto pisses him off? The potential of getting his ass kicked has never stopped Shouto before, but he can already hear the lecture he’d get from Momo, and probably Fuyumi, if he made the news for destroying a college building in a fight with a civilian professor.
Honestly, the property damage would probably be the least of their worries if he starts fighting with civilians.
“I know you don’t normally work with the media or make non-heroic work public appearances so I figured it was a long shot for you to even consider being a part of the series, but I really think you would make an amazing feature.”
Shouto shifts in his seat. Here it comes, he thinks. He really should have prepared what exactly he was going to say more, but he figured it would just come to him in the moment. Now, for some reason, he’s nervous. As if he would accidentally agree or something else equally absurd.
How this sweater had contained the man’s arms so far was a miracle, honestly.
“…but quirks are mutating, or rather evolving, at an astonishing rate. Every generation we see quirks getting stronger than those of previous generations but more and more we are now seeing children with quirks that have little to no relation to their parent’s quirks, or a manifestation of some kind of combination of quirks. You gained attention early on for being one of the first heroes, or even hero-in-training, to have multiple quirks.
“Now that it’s becoming more common, hearing first hand from someone who has had to learn how to control and gain mastery over two separate quirks would be invaluable information, especially for many quirk-study students who will be working with parents and children who are going through this for the first time, and for those who may have some form of a combination quirk but did not have the benefit of a hero-course education that could teach them proper control.”
Wait…what?
“What?”
Dr. Midoriya startles, glancing between Shouto and something unseen in the air around him. “Oh…” he winces. “I’m sorry. Was I mumbling again? I apologize, sometimes my brain works faster than my mouth and I get carried away, where did I…never mind, I’ll start again…slower. So, when quirks first appeared-”
Shouto holds up a hand to stop the professor and his jaw snaps shut with an audible click. “You want me to talk about my quirk?”
“…Yes?”
“Not…my family?”
Dr. Midoriya lowers his arms to the top of his desk, folding his hands together. Shouto thinks it might be the first time he has seen him completely still since they first ran into each other outside.
Now that they’re closer, and his hands aren’t moving, Shouto can also see surprisingly large scars running over the professor’s fingers and onto the backs of his hands. Those definitely don’t look like something you would get as a teacher. At least not as a normal, non-hero course teacher.
“Do you want to talk about your family?”
He shifts awkwardly in his seat. The professor’s serious attention directed all at him is suddenly unnerving somehow. “Well, no, I don’t.”
Dr. Midoriya nods, once. “Okay.” A pause. “Honestly, I was surprised to even hear you ask, I hadn’t considered broaching the topic for something like this.”
“You didn’t?” he asks incredulously.
Dr. Midoriya pins him with an expression he can’t interpret but inexplicably reminds him of Aizawa back in high school when he was frustrated with students or a lesson or even a fellow teacher. Especially All Might.
“Entropy, you have made it very clear in the past that you have no interest in talking about what happened to your family publicly. And that is your right. No one is owed anything about your personal life. If you suddenly decided you wanted to talk about what happened, and you wanted to use the Hero Talks series as your platform, you would be more than welcome to do so. Honestly, the publicity from that one lecture alone would probably be enough to guarantee the university allowing this series again in the future. But that is not why I asked you to be a part of it. You want to keep your private affairs private, and I respect that. I picked heroes who I knew the public would be interested in hearing from, but also who would have the most helpful information to offer to the students who are studying these topics, and, frankly, they would learn far more hearing about your quirk than your…homelife.”
“I…I wouldn’t know what to talk about.” Shouto admits awkwardly.
Dr. Midoriya smiles softly. “That’s okay. I can give you some general topics to consider, or more specific questions to think about as main points if that would be more helpful. Let me see…” he turns around in his chair, shifting to the side, and Shouto can see the shelves just under the view of the desk are stuffed full of identical notebooks, each with a carefully penned number on the binding. The professor pulls one out and flips through it. Almost every page is crammed with scrawling handwriting, some written sideways or upside down, squeezed into every blank space he could find. The slightly-less busy pages have drawings of heroes or costumes or diagrams Shouto can’t interpret from the quick, upside-down glance he gets of them.
From his seat Shouto could see there were, at least, two shelves of these notebooks. Were they all like that?
Finally, the professor finds what he’s looking for with a satisfied hum. He sets the notebook on the desk, turning it so Shouto can see. The page is marginally less chaotic than others he saw. At the top, in surprisingly neat handwriting and underlined three times, it reads: Questions for Multiple-Quirk Usage (Entropy).
The rest of the page is made up of dozens of questions about his quirk. Some, Shouto imagines, are just general questions for anyone with multiple quirks to consider (Do you activate both quirks the same way? Can you use them both simultaneously?) and get progressively tailored to questions about his quirk, like if there are places he can’t use one quirk or the other and the temperature ranges of his fire and ice, if particular environmental factors affect his ability to use either of them.
“Uh…”
Dr. Midoriya scratches the back of his head sheepishly. He hides a nervous laugh with a cough before taking the notebook back and closing it. The light isn’t strong in the office, but Shouto is positive the professor is blushing.
“Of course, if a list of topics or questions is something you would be interested in, I can provide you with a neater – and shorter – list. This was just a-a demonstration that there is a lot to consider when it comes to multiple quirks. Of course, not all of that would be relevant for a lecture, and admittedly some are just personal curiosities, but…anyways,” he clears his throat. “I’m assuming if you came here thinking I was going to ask about your family…you don’t actually want to be a part of the series.”
Shouto crosses his arms over his chest, sitting back in his chair. Does he want to be a part of a public lecture series? No. But now he is undeniably curious about this professor and how the hell his brain works.
“Do you have a notebook page like that for every hero?”
“Every hero? That would be impossible…well maybe not impossible-” Shouto raises a brow and the professor bites his tongue. “Maybe…most Japanese heroes since…early Silver Age and well-known international heroes? And any American heroes who would have overlapped with All Might’s time either learning or working in America.”
“How long have you been making those?”
He looks down a little wistfully at the question, thumbing gently at the corner of the page. “I was probably four or five when I started my first one,” he admits with a quiet laugh. “None that are here are quite that old, though.”
Shouto has…so many questions.
There’s a quiet buzz of the professor’s phone going off. He excuses himself for a moment and pulls the cell out of his pocket. His case has the design of All Might’s Golden Age costume.
“I’m sorry, Entropy, I have another meeting and I teach a class after so I can’t talk much longer today.”
“I should be getting going anyways.” Shouto says, standing up and Dr. Midoriya shoots out of his chair.
“Right, yes, of course. I’m sorry we probably took up more of your time than you meant to. Thank you for coming in, it was an honor to speak with you.”
Shouto feels like “honor” is a bit much, he didn’t really even say much at all, and he came here with rather rude intentions but, he doesn’t really know how to argue with the professor’s enthusiasm.
His brain and his good sense, and the small bit of self-preservation he has left, all tell him to keep going, to accept the professor’s gracious dismissal and move on, but he finds himself hesitating in the doorway anyways.
“Uh…Entropy? Is everything alright?” Dr. Midoriya asks, looking at him curiously.
Oh hell.
“If you send me the list, of topics…I’ll think about it.”
Dr. Midoriya’s entire being lights up. “Really?”
Oh, he was really going to regret this.
“…Yes.”
“Thank you! I will forward it to you right away!” He drops into a bow so deep, so quickly, he slams his head into the top of the desk.
Both of them freeze at the resounding crack that echoes in the small room. Shouto takes a step back into the office, already reaching for the professor.
“Are you alright?”
Dr. Midoriya straightens, looking a little dazed but mostly just embarrassed. There’s a bright red mark on his forehead. “Oh my God.” He whispers.
Shouto is surprised, and a little ashamed, by how hard it is to keep himself from laughing at the horrified expression. “Dr. Midoriya, are you-”
The desk gives a sudden, heaving creak and tips sideways. The two watch helplessly as the desk collapses, sending the clutter on top flying across the floor.
Dr. Midoriya makes a strangled noise, covering his face with his hands. “Not again.”
Again?
There are rushed footsteps outside and a young woman with six eyes and lavender hair piled in a high bun peeks her head in through the half-open door. “Dr. Midoriya, did you break something again?”
“I’m sorry Kobayashi.” He bows his head again, though not nearly as low this time, and keeps his face covered.
Kobayashi tuts disapprovingly. “I’ll call for another,” she says, already turning on her heel to leave.
“Thank you, Kobayashi.”
Shouto bends down to gather some of the papers that scattered around his feet. Dr. Midoriya lowers his hands, immediately stumbling over the mess when he sees Shouto cleaning.
“Please Entropy, thank you, but that’s not necessary.”
“It’s fine,” he waves off the worries. “Where would you like these things?”
“Uh,” Dr. Midoriya looks around the office for a moment. “Here, thank you.” Taking the papers from him he makes a neat pile on his un-damaged desk chair.
It’s quick work for the two of them to straighten up the rest of the room, though the professor takes a moment to mourn his cracked eyeglasses, and then again when he realizes some of the posters were damaged by the desk’s fall.
“Thank you again, Entropy. I’m so sorry about all the trouble.”
“It’s…fine.” Shouto says dumbly. “Well I should…go, now.”
“Yes, of course! I’m sorry about taking up even more of your time. Thank you for coming in.”
Before Shouto can reply, two new people arrive, knocking once before they shuffle into the office. Shouto moves further into the room, out of the way, as they collect the broken desk and carry it out of the room.
For a moment, they stand in silence, Shouto coming up with about a hundred more questions about the professor, while Dr. Midoriya stands nearby, twisting his hands together in embarrassment. Finally, his common-sense kicks in enough that after another short good-bye, Shouto manages to walk himself out of the office and down the stairs without doing anything else stupid or impulsive.
He passes someone on his way to the doors, so focused on getting out of the building that he doesn’t notice until they call his name.
He recognizes the wild purple hair and slouched stance of the man approaching him, but nearly dismisses the similarities on principle.
“Shinso? Since when do you come out while the sun’s still up?” He asks.
Ignoring the jab, Shinso pulls off a pair of sunglasses and looks him up and down. Despite also being a part of U.A.’s hero course in high school, Shinso promptly went underground after graduation and has been working in the shadows long enough that only some other pros and hardcore hero-fans are able to recognize him out of costume. “What are you doing here?”
“I was…I had a meeting with a professor,” he admits.
Shouto doesn’t know Shinso well, but he swears he looks surprised by the admission.
And then he laughs. “I can’t believe he actually did it. Good for him.”
Shouto isn’t totally sure he heard him correctly, but when he asks, Shinso makes an expression he can’t figure out and changes the subject.
“I’ll see you later, Todoroki.” He says with a wave.
Shouto waves back, unsure of what to make of the interaction, and watches as Shinso disappears up the same stairs he just descended.
Shoving the strange interaction out of his head, he pushes open the doors and steps outside.
Then he calls Kyouka.
She picks up after two rings. “Did you make him cry?”
He can hear Momo scold her from the background.
“No, but I think I fucked up.”
Kyouka is quiet for a moment but based on the noise he hears in the background, he thinks she’s moving further away from Momo. When she speaks again, her voice is quieter. “Fucked up how? Like news crews are coming to report the damage and you might be going to jail for beating up an old, civilian professor-fucked up?”
Faintly, Shouto wonders what it says about him that both he and Kyouka assumed the worst-case scenario for this meeting was him fighting with a civilian.
“No, fucked up like…I didn’t tell him ‘no’?”

Slow dancing in a burning room | d.m imagine
Request: no.
Word count: 3029
Pairing: draco x slytherin!reader with a tiny bit of oliver wood x slytherin!reader
Note: Major heartbreak. I was inspired by the song Slow dancing in a burning room by the talented John Mayer. For the best reading experience, I suggest you to listen to it while reading. Also, I might or might not have an idea for a second part, so let me know if you want that. Thanks. xx
The Yule Ball. Probably one of the greatest nights for the students in Hogwarts. The boys were nervous about asking the girls to go to the Ball with them, and they were furious about the fact that they had to take dance classes so they wouldn’t make a fool out of themselves during the opening dance. And the girls were excited to dress up nicely, and to do each other’s hair and makeup. It was a perfect night for those who were afraid to confess their feelings and ask their crush out on a date.
It was perfect for me to pretend that my heart was finally mended, and I didn’t spend my nights with crying and trying to erase all those shared memories from my mind. But the fact, that I wore the dress I had picked out just for him, because I knew how much he would have loved my long deep dark green satin dress with the diamond necklace he gave me for last Christmas didn’t really help. I just wanted to look good for him. Let him see how proud I was to be his. It hurt to see myself the way I was dressed up. I was dressed for him and not for my date. Or for myself. I looked exactly the way I wanted to look – just for him. Maybe I needed to hurt myself with this. Maybe it was a good step to finally start my healing process and learn to love myself.
- Are you ready? – Pansy turned to me after she finished her makeup – Wow, you look absolutely beautiful. I love this colour on you.
- Thank you – I smiled at her – You look amazing too. Blaise is going to faint when he sees you in this dress – I winked at her and laughed a bit at how her face turned into a dark shade of red. It was so amusing to watch my two friends being little troublemakers, but they were both afraid to tell each other how they truly felt.
- He better be, because I didn’t force myself into this dress for him to say nothing – she playfully rolled her eyes and dragged me out of the room. I was biting the inside of my mouth, and my nervousness grew by every step we took towards the stairs. I didn’t know if he was going to be there. I didn’t even know if he had asked someone to the Ball.
- Calm down – Pansy squeezed my hand and stopped me for a minute. She checked if anyone was close enough to hear what she was about to say, and when she made sure we were alone, she grabbed both of my hands and looked me in the eyes – I know what you’re thinking about, and you have to stop it right now. You have an amazing date for the Ball, and I want you to have a good time – she looked at me with sympathy in her eyes. Pansy was there in the first days, not leaving my side. She even slept next to me, so she could be there for me even in the middle of the night, when I had a dream about him and I, and I woke up choking on my tears. She was worried, and wanted nothing but understand everything. But how could I make her understand when I didn’t know either what was really going on?!
- It’s hard – I sighed and looked away – I don’t know if I…
- You can! – she assured me – I know that you can stay strong, Y/N. Listen to me, we go down to our dates. We dance. We have fun. And if you feel like you need to leave, you come to find me and we leave. I’ll always be here for you, okay? – she smiled – But at least try to enjoy the night. For your own sake.
She was right. I had to try at least. I nodded and took her hand in mine, leading her to the stairs. Our dates were already waiting for us at the bottom, standing next to each other and they were in a deep conversation; but when Blaise looked up and caught us, he nudged Oliver to pay attention to us. I forced a smile on my face, and walked down the stairs, with Pansy by my side. The look on Blaise’s face was worth it. He looked at Pansy like she was the only girl in the whole world, and the smile on his face told me he was very proud to be her date tonight. And maybe be even more after it.
- You look great – Oliver Wood smiled at me kindly and offered me his arm, which I gladly accepted and let him to lead me to the Great Hall, which was transformed into an even magical Ball room for the night. It was like our very own winter wonderland made out of ice. Everyone looked so different in their formal clothes. I was used to seeing them in their robes or in their sweaters, but they looked amazing. The room was slowly filled with the arriving couples and we were only waiting for the Champions to enter the room and open the dance so we can join them. Oliver had his arm around my shoulder, protecting me from the couples who surrounded us just to get a better look at the dancing Champions and their dates. I was smiling at how Harry managed to step on his own feet during dancing, when I caught a familiar pair of grey eyes. His face was mainly emotionless, but I could tell his jaw was clenched and he was frowning a bit. My heart skipped a beat as I checked how amazingly dashing he looked tonight. I would have bet his tuxedo cost a smaller fortune, but the white shirt and bow tie he had on somehow fit his pale skin. A few strands of his platinum blonde hair was almost in his eyes. I always loved that. It made him look less terrifying. But my heart dropped into my stomach when I saw that someone was clinging onto his arm. I had seen the girl before, she was a Slytherin too, but I never really heard her speaking to anyone apart from her best friend. I had to admit, she looked very good in her light blue dress. Her black hair was up in a tight bun, and little diamonds decorated it. I wondered if those were gifts from Draco.
- Come, dance with me – Oliver took my hand softly and pulled me to the dance floor. I was very thankful for his gesture. He pulled me close to his body, and let me rest my head on his chest. I was fighting back my tears, and tried very hard not to break down in the middle of the dance floor. He did come with someone else. He was allowed to. We broke up after all. Who was I to ban him from moving on? I should have done it too – He is still watching you – he whispered in my ear. I froze for a moment, but reminded myself that we were dancing, so I kept moving.
- I don’t know who you’re talking about – I answered him and twirled around. I put my hand back in his and followed his lead. Oliver was a great guy. I really liked him, and admired his passion for Quiditch. He was nice to everyone, and he had a good sense of humour. So when he asked me if I wanted to go to the Ball with him, I couldn’t think of any reason why I shouldn’t. Except for one, of course, but that was only a delusion.
- Y/N – he laughed – I saw the way you looked at him, like he was the only man in the whole world for you – he smiled softly – But I also saw the pain written on your face when you realised he came to the Ball with Darcy Hopkins – Oliver caressed my bare back with his hand – And you know what else I saw?
- What? – I asked with an annoyed but playful tone. I don’t think he knew how toxic our relationship was. Our close friends saw it, and tried to help. They were almost relieved when they heard us fighting one night. That night, when we ended things. That night, when we broke each other. But I don’t think that they’ve ever realize how hard it is to pull yourself out of a toxic relationship with someone you loved dearly.
- I saw how he looked at you when we entered the Hall. I’ve only seen him looking at you like that – Oliver looked down at me – And I saw how hurt he was when he realized that you had a date for tonight. Listen, Y/N, I’m not a relationship expert. My only long term relationship is with Quiditch – I laughed at him a little – But that doesn’t mean I can’t tell if a friend of mine is in love.
- It’s not that easy – I sighed – I really appreciate your kindness shown towards me. It means a lot to have someone trying to understand the whole situation, but I’d rather not talk about this. Tonight should be fun, and I really don’t want to ruin it for you with my constant whining about how Draco and I screwed up something that could have lasted a lifetime. Both he and I made huge mistakes, which eventually lead us to break up. I’m working on myself, and taking baby steps on the path of healing – I shrugged – I know this is going to take a while, but I also know that one day, I’ll be fine again.
- I’m happy to hear that, but I think he thinks about this differently – before I could ask him what he meant by this, I got my answer. My body went in shock when I saw Draco approaching us and looking at Oliver with respect and anger in his grey eyes. I was genuinely surprised how civilized he was acting, but again, he had no reason to be jealous or overprotective. We weren’t together.
- Excuse me, Wood – he looked at Oliver – Can I steal your partner away for a dance?
Oliver nodded and put my hand in Draco’s. When my skin touched his cold hands I felt like an electric shock ran through my whole body. I missed holding his hands in the hallways or at night. Playing with his long fingers while he laid in his bed, talking about everything and anything in the middle of the night. I missed feeling his hands around my body, when he held me close to himself while we were asleep. I had to force back my tears when I looked up at him. He was beautiful. Almost too beautiful to be too.
- May I have this dance? – he didn’t wait for my answer. Draco pulled me closer and placed his other hand on my waist. It was so easy for me to follow his lead. The memory of us slow dancing around the huge Christmas tree in the even huger living room of the Malfoy Manor from last winter rushed back to my mind. We sneaked out of his room after his parents went to sleep and cuddled up on the coach with hot chocolate in our hands, legs tangled as we watched the flames dancing in the fireplace. Out of nowhere, Draco stood up and pulled me with him to dance. And we did. We danced with no music playing, our carefree laughter filled the silent house. We were so happy and so in love in our bubble, we didn’t even realize that we actually woke up Lucius and Narcissa who watched us having fun.
- You look breathtakingly beautiful – he whispered in my ear. Shiver ran down my spine, and the butterflies woke up in my stomach. No, it wasn’t right. He was at the Ball with someone else, so I was. – Y/N…
- What are we going, Draco? – I asked him. A month had passed ever since the night when we broke up, and I had to realize, I was still unable to move on. All my attempts of forgetting him were for nothing, because now, that he held me so close to his body that I could feel his heart beating fast. And his cologne filled with mint and his natural scent filled my nose and mind to the point where I couldn’t think straight anymore. All those feelings, good and bad, love and pain, passion and suffering. It was him. And I.
- I miss you – he buried his face in my neck and took a deep breath – Why did you come to the Ball with Oliver?
- Oh, no – I pushed his head away – We are not doing this, Draco. You don’t have the right to ask me these kind of questions. We’re not together, so I don’t have to explain myself to you anymore.
- Y/N – Draco’s hands held me tighter, like he was trying to cling to me – Please. Did you forget everything we had? – his eyes were filled with pain – Don’t you remember the secret dates by the Great Lake? Or when we would sneak up to the Astronomy Tower to see the shooting stars and make wishes on them? – we were spinning around the dance floor, not paying attention to anyone around us – I only made one wish. To have you by my side and to feel your love for the rest of my life. Please, tell me you still remember…
- Of course I do – I said – But I also remember all the pain you caused. I still remember every fight we had. Every bad word we threw at each other. I remember the jealousy, and how insanely overprotective and controlling you would get from time to time – I looked up at him with tears in my eyes – I remember how much we were destroying each other, Draco.
- If it isn’t destroying you, then it is not love – his voice was hard. I looked away from him, only to catch Pansy and Blaise staring at us from the side of the dance floor. Their faces showed concern, worry and hope at the same time.
- No. If it is love, then is should build us – I said slowly – Our relationship was toxic, Dray. You have to face it. We were killing each other slowly – my voice broke a little – All we did was fight. You were never good with confessing your feelings to yourself, let alone showing it to someone. And I needed you to do it, so I pushed you. I’m terribly sorry for forcing you into something you clearly wasn’t comfortable with in the first place – I apologised to him – But I came to a realization, that if I have to fight and ask for your attention, than I don’t want it at all.
- What do you mean I never showed you how I felt? – he stopped for a bare second, but continued dancing – What about all the gifts that I bought to you?
- That’s exactly what I’m talking about – I raised my voice – Gifts. I never asked for them. All I wanted was your affection. All I wanted was you to love me the same way I loved you
- Loved? – this time he really stopped dancing. We were standing in the middle of the dance floor, facing each other for the first time in weeks. I could tell that our schoolmates were watching us, waiting for a big drama, but all I could think about was how did we end up here? After all those fights, we still had energy to argue more. And we did it while our song was playing in the background, just to make the whole situation even worse.
- I need to heal – tears ran down my cheeks as I looked him in the eye – You know that the only way a wound can heal, is if you stop touching it. You are that wound for me, Dray. I need to stay away from you. I need to stop thinking about you. I need to stop loving you so I can finally learn to be happy again without you. So I can love again one day.
I took a step closer to him. He looked so lost and so hurt. My heart was breaking by the sight of his grey eyes filling with tears. I placed a hand on his soft cheek and caressed the pale skin with my thumb in a calming way. After all, I can wanted the best for him.
- Until you heal yourself, you’ll be toxic to every woman who tries to love you, Draco – I whispered so only he could hear me. He grabbed the hand on his cheek and tried to pull me back to him, but I was faster and stepped away from him, turning my back at the boy who I loved with every piece of my heart. But he was also the boy who hurt me so many times. I never knew I could feel so much pain, and yet be so in love with the person causing it.
- Can we please leave? – I asked Oliver when I successfully pushed everyone out of my way. He was waiting by the huge door, looking at me with worry and concern written all over his face. Pansy was already standing there with him, knowing very well that I was going to need her too for the rest of the night. I wanted to look bad. I wanted to see him one last time. I don’t know what I wanted to see exactly. Maybe the pain in his eyes. The tears streaming down his beautiful angelic face. I wanted to see him in the same state that I had been in for weeks. But I couldn’t do it. I knew if I saw him hurt – because of me – I would have pushed away all the bad memories, all the pain, and the suffering that I had to go through because of him, and I would have ran back to him just to tell him how much I still love him and how much I want to protect him. But instead I grabbed Oliver and Pansy’s hands and dragged them with me to the courtyard. When I felt the cold breeze hitting my face, I let everything out. I fell in my knees and sobbed. I had to realize, if your heart hurts a little after letting go of someone that’s okay. It means that your feelings were genuine. No one likes endings. But sometimes we have to put things that were once good to an end after they turn toxic to our wellbeing. Not every new beginning is meant to last forever. And not every person who walks into our life is meant to stay. Most relationship fail not because of the absence of love. Love is always present. It’s just that one loves too much and the other loves too little.
