oh my god i got bg3 like 4 days ago and ive been playing non-stop. i haven’t even been listening to music, i haven’t felt the need to. it’s honestly kinda scary cus i can get too wrapped in games sometimes which results in me forgetting to eat and sleep and shower but idk tbh. i bought it for astarion but fell in love with gale instead, he is my slime.

Sometimes when I'm sad, I like to imagine the events of BG3 taking place in a place like Chicago. Some weird ass alternative universe, magic and gods a bit looser and not always certain with a few modern careers blurred between the lines so SOME people can get better happy endings.

McQueen and his sister took acting classes growing up and watched lots of old Hollywood films, and so he sometimes will slip into something of a transatlantic accent without meaning to because he spent so much time practicing or hearing it

When he rambles long enough he’ll slip, just a touch of it every other word until whoever he’s talking to can’t help but to wonder why

When he’s distracted and talking to himself, he might get into a little bit of Dorothy Gale or even a slight Robin Hood (Disney) that he doesn’t even notice he’s doing

It comes out when he’s being intensely sarcastic, falling back into those acting runs where he was told to play it up, up, up because he had to exaggerate every line for this or that play

Can do a perfect Raggedy Andy impression, usually by accident because no one is going around asking McQueen but one certainly would think it was his natural voice if they didn’t know him

He once got angry at Chick and snapped, completely losing his voice in the accent, and Chick picked on him endlessly after the initial shock. McQueen didn’t even realize for what

Sally’s the one who brings it up one day, mentioning off hand how she thinks it’s very charming and McQueen is just like “wdym” and even when she explains he still doesn’t get it

Just finished a bg3 playthrough for the first time today and did a redeemed durge x Gale route and the epilogue party was so funny because

"Dark Lord Astarion" was like "I missed you sm life is actually so fucking boring without you", Jaheira was like "oh how nice it is to be understood again" when Mordriel jested back with her, Shadowheart was ecstatic to see him and teased him and was the one to initiate a hug, Karlach (who had been w Mordriel the whole time since they went to Avernus together) was so ecstatic that her flames even turned blue when he hugged her, Minsc was super excited to tell his hostage about Mordriel and the others, Lae'zel was so sentimental and sweet and told Mordriel unprovoked that even if she had a knife pressed to her throat she wouldn't deny it, Wyll was bugged and at first thought Mordriel was Lae'zel lmao (I'm assuming an origin and companion dialogue tag was the same when it should've been different and because she became a Vlaakith-hunter, it made Mordriel look like the Vlaakith-hunter Lae'zel), Halsin was like "god these last 6 months have been SO long without you god I missed you so much" and after being hugged the first time said that it was def worth the wait and after the second time was like "I could get used to this" and also his hug animation had him CONTINUING TO HOLD MORDRIEL'S HANDS FOR LIKE 4 SECONDS AFTER THE HUG ENDED, Tara was pretty annoyed with Mordriel because he helped Gale ascend but because he wasn't a total ass she did actually sort of come around and go "I know once he had his mind set on it you couldn't have helped it but ugh :(", etc....

and then motherfucking Gale, who Mordriel romanced, called him over saying "my friend" LIKE WDYM YOUR FRIEND? YOU'RE TOGETHER? though I believe that was bugged as well lol so I don't think that was supposed to happen and then didn't even say he missed him like you haven't seen the love of your life in half a year girly pop.

Also, throughout the acts, Lae'zel, Astarion and Halsin all tried to initiate something w Mordriel, so I'm headcanoning this as them all having crushes on him even after these months lol because those three especially had the most intimate (intimate as in lovey-dovey/close, not sexual) greetings and such towards him.

Omg Crosby is definitely from a traditional background and Buck keeps asking him questions about traditional omegas and Jean, just to see if it's something that he could put up with to be with bucky. ( Excellent opportunity Gale to be embarrassed when Crosby tells him something that a traditional omega would NEVER do and Gale realizes that he did that in front of John literally yesterday)

And eventually Crosby realizes what's going on and is even more confused because he and Jean love each other and being traditional but he sees John and Gale love each other while not being traditional. But it's not his business enough to intercept so he entertains Gales questions and letters to Jean.

Oooh love the idea of Gale having someone he can ask about what he perceives as weird!

Like, wdym I’m not allowed to have my own seat at this important meeting??? I have to kneel??? Even though I clearly know more!!!

Or the mortification when he’s informed that no, proper traditional omegas don’t shake alphas hands and he flashes back to when he first met John. Or that he spoke before John did with a higher up the day before even though that’s apparently a big no no.

But I also love the idea of Crosby answering all these questions and confronting his own slightly problematic upbringing/views when he sees how happy the Buckies are with their weird mishmash of traditional and modern courting/mating and Jean being so on board with potentially making changes in their own relationship.

FFXVI spoilers

I've been listening to "All as one" from FFXVI almost daily since finishing the game (wdym I'm obsessed, it's my daily energy boost) and I've collected some really nice details from the final Eikon clash Ultima and Clive have got going:

* Ultima calls out to the Eikon's powers, something unpersonal like "Gales unrelenting" or "Earth Unyielding", not the Eikon itself. Clive on the other hand always calls out the Eikon's name, making it seem more personal. Stays in tune with Joshua pointing out that different from Ultima, Clive chose to listen to the people who believed in him, no matter how much power he had accumulated.

Cid's encouragement is immediately followed by Mid's - father passing it onto the daughter, basically

(On that note, since Mid is used for an attack of Titan which is basically just throwing hands, I had the hilarious thought of her going to fistfight Ultima if she only had the chance XD )

I've seen some people laugh because we hear Byron's encouragement "that's my boy" over Bahamuth's attack, but I think it's a very nice companion-piece to hearing Elwin's voice over "onward my son" when we use Odin - one brother is used for the light, the other for the darkness, connecting them

This is probably farfetched, but on the same note - Elwin being used with "onward" when we use the Darkness we got from Barnabas (a enemy we struggled so much against) is quite nice, like "onward, defeat the Darkness, overcome it" you know?

And yes, I've seen people point out that in one sidequest around Elwin's grave, Clive also said he needs to "go on", so hearing Elwin say this is basically confirming Clive's words again. As if he heard his son and is agreeing and supporting him

Clive's final attack with Phoenix is "Flames of Rebirth" which is just. Such a nice finale?

The soundtrack times exactly right so that the final attack is delivered to the lines of "All as one, marching together" followed right after by the most upbeat, hopeful notes of the song.

All in all, the entire final fight was just a chef's kiss of cinematic, choreography and symbolism.

when i first started getting into scream i felt extremely gaslit into thinking the 2nd and 3rd films are actually good and that the 4th one is the bad one. like WDYM???

yes the second has a banger opening scene but the killers are completely irrelevant to the plot, i literally had to watch the second one 3 (THREE) times to be able to tell apart mikey and derek bc they're literally both tall brunette standard cis guys to me and the reporter being billys mom is just a lazy plot twist to me

if dewey was the killer in the second one the movie would be SO much better, like!!!! dewey had motive (sister was killed meanwhile 2 of her friends survived, gale's book thing, he was badly hurt, etc), he knew how he to do it successfully bc he lived through it, and idk i just wanted him to be!!!

so yes, 2 is average at best and boring at worst to me. meanwhile, the third movie is simply a train wreck i hope we can all agree on. there's simply no way roman would be able to pull that off alone, plus they reused the same family relative plot twist (tho i do admit this time it was slightly better, but it doesn't make it any less lazy). if im being very honest with you, there was no point i was truly invested in the story while watching 3.

while 4 i was literally kept on my toes the ENTIRE TIME. best killer reveals since the 1st (charlie included, he is SEVERELY underrated)!!! a killer kills another killer!!! jill motive was sounhinged and im living for it!!! they managed to make the killers have some form of chemistry like stu and billy did without redoing their dynamic!!! it was sidney more interesting plot by far since the first movie!!! jill literally almost got away with it!!!! like dude, that movie is a BANGER!

to me, scream 4 is a very close 2nd in ranking, following the first one (obv)

anyways, i felt like everyone kept telling me 2 and 3 were masterpieces when they very clearly arent. i absolutely love the franchise, but every time i rewatch i have to power through 2 and sometimes skip 3 altogether bc its very clearly the weaker movie out of the 6 out.
